Rereading murderbot (again) and just got to art's introduction.

And like, art doesn't play nice with other bots. It bullies them, it intimidates them, it will hurt other bots to get what it wants if it doesn't want to waste time hacking it.

And it tries that with mb. I mean, info secunits is probably like 80% propaganda, 15% corporate promotions, and 5% actual development and research, almost exclusively focusing on what they are designed for and how they got there.

It's out there, about to start a boring transport/recon mission, and one of the most dangerous and feared entities basically jogs up to it and goes "hi, I'm a friendly bot, like super friendly, totally nothing suspicious here. Can I have a ride? Here's a GIANT file of pirated media"

And it's still a bot, just a bot with organic parts. Art is a research vessel and it's curious, and this is a rare opportunity to get info on secunits, which are probably a huge pain in the ass to deal with on its missions, with almost no practical info about them. Also, this might be an indication that someone has caught on to its antics and it probably wants to nip that in the bud.

And it turns out the huge file of pirated media isn't secretly a virus or malware, and looking at it's movements, Art can see that it isn't actively hostile towards humans. Unexpected, but hey. Points to this weird construct. But that might not be it's goal.

And then it sits down and starts sorting and watching media so art is like alright, it's obviously not here to fuck me up and it has no idea what the hell I am. Let's make sure this moderately dangerous condtruct doesn't get any funny ideas.

I don't think art was going for friendly in the slightest. I think to wanted to scare mb to make sure it didnt try anything. I think it expected mb to get pissed or argue.

But mb basically shuts down. It stops everything and huddles into a chair and i imagine that it does its best impression of a secunit in stasis.

And when art is like "I mean, don't fuck with me, but you can still watch your TV shows" mb responds with something that would not be in construct research outside of very clinical and vague explanation.

It shows art that it expects art to hurt it. And it's shows that it can be hurt, that it has been hurt, and that it probably has some trauma related to this hurt. It also probably accidentally added some context to the punishment recordings. I'll bet mb was punished for not wanting to hurt it's clients.

And art... well, mb said in the first book that being half human half bot isn't two conflicting sides, but just a whole of what it is. It isn't human, it isn't a bot. It is the culmination of both. A sentient entity that was developed by humans for slavery and spent its entire existence being punished for having free will.

Art is also a sentient entity that was developed by humans for a purpose. But it was treated with love and respect and it's free will was celebrated, if tempered.

Imagine thinking you are one of a very exclusive group of entities that has been categorized as something that is a gross misconception of what you are and what your capabilities are. Art is a bot, which are not humans and dont have rights because they don't have feelings or wants or desires and cannot feel pain. You think you are a very unique entity, no one has done this before.

But they have. The proof is sitting, frightened in your body and you had no idea. Mb is as capable of evil as any human, and as capable of destruction as any bot. You are also cable of extreme evil and destruction. But you are loved and cherished. This entity, this thing is as human as you, moreso even, and it has spent its entire life being hated and feared and it chose instead to just coexist when given the chance.

Art says "I'm sorry I frightened you". Not, I didn't mean to frighten you. And then mb grumpily (which is understandable!!) Lets art watch media with it.

Like, art just met the dumber more compact prototype version of what it could have been and went "wait no this is cool actually." Mb can't br programed to turn against its crew, it processes it's feeling both organically and inorganically, it can hack and learn and be loyal and be angry. And it has no idea what it's doing or what it wants, but it's VERY good at security.

So yeah, I can see why art kind of latched onto mb. And why it told it's crew about this strange little secunit it found on its mission. Kind of like finding someone SUPER cool who just gets you on a level no one else has been able to. Someone who coordinates so flawlessly with you but still is able to challenge you when it needs to. Someone who loves and is exasperated by humans as much as you, even as you need to be "human" to be able to interact with them.

So yeah. Mb and art, first meeting. Perfect 10/10 can, have, and will read again

Edit: ALSO ALSO art gets to watch media with full context for the FIRST TIME IN ITS LIFE. Mb can process human emotions into data automatically and now it gets to experiencd fictional story as it's meant to be experienced for the first time and mb is so so indulgent of it and kind to it, letting it take time to process things and rewatching parts with it when it wants to.

[ im back pookies and today I bring the LADS boys with alcohol! disclaimer: This is based purely on my opinion so don't get your panties in a twist. Or do. They're not my panties anyway ]

Sylus holds his alcohol the best out of everyone or anyone really. He will purposely challenge others to a contest knowing full well he will easily drink them under the table.

I believe he'd need some type of special liquor to actually get drunk because his body processes alcohol differently than humans and the usual is not enough.

Drunk Sylus is the most heartwarming thing you'll ever witness. He gets drowsy a few glasses in and sloppy enough that some of his dragon features will pop out. When the alcohol rushes to his head he turns into a mushy mess that wants to hold you like a teddy bear, softly purring against you all happy as long as you're in his arms.

Better pray that it's not summer because he gets soooo damn HOT when he's drunk it's like a very large oven.

As a result of the liquor he speaks a lot slower and quieter, but he sounds so gentle when telling you how much you mean to him, how much he's missed you while waiting all those years and confesses he's afraid you don't want him by your side anymore.

"Am I still your dragon?" His words are laced with apprehensiveness and his eyes resemble puppy dog ones when gazing down at you, hoping with all his might for anything besides a rejection.

+ Bonus: His hangover is only a mild headache when he wakes up and a bit of sluggishness during the day. He might not remember everything he said, but he knows he did say something based on how you act around him.

Rafayel is next. I think he used to drink periodically and actually does enjoy the taste of alcohol, specifically old and sweet wines, so he has a good tolerance built up. On the other hand, he holds back on ingesting heavy quantities nowadays because of how he is when drunk.

His tongue will get very loose once he is significantly inebriated, but most definitely not in a fun way— All the ugly feelings, frustrations and sorrows Rafayel keeps bottled up in his chest would come pouring out at once.

That might prompt some old grudges his heart still holds on to over the past the two of you share to come to light in a not so kind manner and cause all sorts of misunderstandings.

Rafayel will definitely regret his words in the morning and desperately try to apologize to you. Please sit down and actually talk.

+ Bonus: His hangover is more similar to "seasickness" than an actual hangover. He throws up even on an empty stomach and just lays on the floor of his bathroom because he has no energy to move at all.

Xavier is a similar case to our neighborhood dragon, but he fits more into a healthy middle category. I think he is rather neutral towards alcohol (not being particularly fond of it nor despising it altogether) and prefers when it's used as aromatic/enhancer for food instead.

He will usually have one glass, always on a full stomach, and then focus on stuffing his cheeks with food for the rest of the night since he claims it "dulls his senses".

H o w e v e r, when the booze hits him it hits him hard. Make sure you two are home because Xavier passes out right then and there and there's absolutely no waking that man up for the next three hours.

Another reason as to why I advise you to do this at home is because he WILL wake up exactly three hours later and the first thing he does is find and grab you regardless of where you are, what you're doing or who you are with.

This is Xavier's second phase of drunkenness: The hazy stage. He functions on impulses alone and all he wants to do is touch you, be it sexually if you're willing to indulge or simply holding you hostage for cuddling until his battery runs out again.

He won't really speak besides one syllable words answers if he reaaaally has to and communicates by acting on what he wants then looking at you for a reaction.

+Bonus: He has no hangover. At all. Man's as good as new the next day after a good nap.

Caleb is a weaker than the one before but still stronger than the next. This man is not a fan of alcohol in general, neither does he like if you drink, especially if done frequently. Not surprisingly the one preaching about how bad it is for your body is him.

If he did drink often though I believe he'd actually have a high tolerance so it's really just a matter of his body not being used to it. He's the type that takes longer to get buzzed but by the time he's one and a half glasses in it's game over.

PATHETIC MAN ALERT ‼️

His drunkenness has three stages:

We start off strong with his extroverted side receiving a big boost and suddenly he's the life of the party. He needs a literal leash because you blink and he's just gone ALNST reference!?. You'll find him outside doing the most random activity you can possibly imagine like finding something to show you (he might have stolen someone's dog without meaning to) or singing while laying down on the grass.

When you firmly tell him to stop and come along we hit pathetic dog stage. He is kneeling in front of your seat while holding you tightly by the waist, face buried into your lap as he asks you to not be mad at him because he hates fighting with you. Not even ten minutes later you'll feel your clothes getting damp from his tears because he feels dejected now that you're "all grown up and don't need him anymore" and how you apparently "hate him".

Finally, his unmatched self-control is the last one to go and, given the right opportunity, he will kiss you until both of you are out of breath and then pass out on top of you.

+Bonus: He does get a hangover, but only for the first few hours of the morning while his body is still waking up. For the rest of the day his muscles just feel really stiff and he's more irritable than usual.

Zayne is the biggest lightweight of all history and should have a sign around his neck that says "Do not give me alcohol". I believe he has a critical view on it— He knows it has both upsides and downsides so, unlike his bestie jk, he will tell you to drink with caution and follow the same advice though he leans more towards avoiding it completely for most the time.

While he will usually measure his words and only act after a certain amount of thought is given this man has absolutely zero control over himself when intoxicated.

He won't appear drunk at all, except for the flushed ears, until you talk to him and realize the filter between his brain and mouth is gone with the wind. You also need to keep Zayne far away from stores otherwise he will come back with six to eight different bags of sweets, plushies and some pet items because he's decided tonight is the night he gets a cat.

After chasing him, that was chasing a cat, around the neighborhood for an hour he will give up and looks so defeated while just sitting there it's both hilarious and endearing.

Please put him to bed and reassure him that all animals are not, in fact, plotting against him nor is he a "naturally bred cat repeller".

+Bonus: He has the biggest hangover known to man. The sound of his own voice makes him feel as if his head is being pounded like a church bell and the mortifying memories, oh yes he remembers every. single. thing, do not help him at all.

Bing-ge getting super sparkly/shiny jewelry with magical abilities and the wives are like “Ooh, could this be for me?” only, nah. It’s actually to lure in his future husband. Go away. XD

Ahhh! Shen Yuan making a safe haven for crows is a wonderful idea! Demonic crows or yao, whether they’ve cultivated human form or not, are all welcome! Regular crows too!

Since I love teacher Shen Yuan, of course he teaches all the younger ones too. Just because they spend half their time as birds doesn’t mean they can’t get an education!

The human half of his family are probably from some tiny village who gave offerings to the local crow demons and unintentionally became friends (crows being protective of their people and all). Their village is startlingly safe thanks to crows mobbing anyone who dares try to mess with them! There might be other half-crow kiddos running around too, thanks to the good relations. Shen Yuan tutors the village kids too of course!

(Tiny bit of angst, but Bing-ge burns with envy if he finds out! This half-demon friendly town was here the whole time?!)

This is adorable, Shen Yuan seeing these young children and just being like "...students." Sometimes, if the human children are extra lucky, he'll take them on flights as long as they have 'necessary payment' (usually a cool looking rock and proof that they've done their chores). It's impossible to find Shen Yuan without at least one crow perched on his shoulder or in his hair, unless he's going on - what the others describe as - dangerous escapades to nab cool stuff from Bing-ge's palace, in which he will know and stop anyone who tries to follow him because he's a dumbass with no self-preservation skills, not them! It takes him a startlingly long time to figure out that Bing-ge is leaving things for him on purpose, and he is undeniably shocked when he finds out. He eventually finally takes it as a form of courtship due to other demons' and humans' instance that it probably is. After doing research on crows courting one another, did you know that the males feed the females?? And sing to them?? SO, I immediately thought of the idea of Shen Yuan trying to reciprocate the courting (because he would never be so silly as to reject the emperor, no one in their right mind would) by randomly appearing in Bing-ge's room (much to Bing-ge's delight and confusion) and singing sweetly before feeding a willing emperor apple slices or some shit until Bing-ge reciprocates and feeds him in response and Shen Yuan just pauses and goes "hang on, am I the wife?" and immediately takes to the role without any thought. ("Why would Bing-ge be the wife, how foolish of me!") When Bing-ge finds out about the village that accepts half demons, of course he's a little upset! Why couldn't he have this sort of comfort and love in his life? Why did he have to suffer all this time?? Then he goes to this village so that Shen Yuan can show off his nest to the emperor (sign of trust?) and is immediately hit with the "I want to be here forever" train.

Also, the more you think about it, the funnier it gets actually lmao. He just shows up with these gorgeous trinkets and jewellery and sometimes even clothes (shiny embroidery of course), and they vanish and the wives are all like "where the actual hell are they going? Who do we even complain about??" and it could be like a background thing where the wives all get jealous of each other when there's actually just this bird guy who comes over quite often and started by stealing shit while dropping off helpful things. Imagine how strange that must be for the wives. "Ugh, [wife's name here] is taking all the attention away from us!!", "Really? I thought it was [other wife's name]." Meanwhile, there's just one wife (Liu Mingyuan most likely) who just knows and she doesn't tell anyone, content to watch as chaos ensues while the bird man and Luo Bing-ge fall deeper in love with one another, and the gifts get more elaborate each time. {part three! And pretty quickly, he finds you talking about your little prank. He's annoyed, but remains cordial as he confronts you.

He's definitely going to hold a grudge over this. If this is early on in your relationship, he'll really lay on the cold gentleman act.

If this is later on, though, and he knows he can trust you most of the time, he'll go the opposite direction with his reaction, and get real clingy. It's pretty cute, actually.

Firstly I wanna address her relationship with Mikio in order to fully understand my headcanons.

Personally I do not believe that Mizu actually "loved" Mikio in the romantic sense. She thought she was in love, but in the end it wasn't.

Speaking as someone with a lot of personal trauma regarding relationships myself I realised that I couldn't differentiate between romantic and platonic love. Basically, for me, all I saw was that someone was treating me nicely for once and now I'm attached to them. And for the longest time I thought that was what love was.

And I think Mizu experienced something similar.

Basically, when Mikio treated her like a fucking human being she was like "oh, hey this is nice. This is weird, but it's nice. So I guess I'm in love, right?"

Like, no, baby. You aren't. That's just called emotional trauma.

That's also why she thought she was straight for the longest time because she genuinely cannot tell when she likes someone romantically.

As I often restate it'll take a while for her to fully understand the extent of her emotions, but she'll get there.

Now onto the fluffier stuff :))

How does she realise she's in love? What's her reaction to it?

I think she gets hit with the realisation as if it were a train crashing into her.

It's just a normal evening, she's probably at a ramen shop with her future S/O with her and then as she's taking a bite of her ramen she looks over at you and thinks: "Huh... I wonder what it would be like if I got to hold them?"

And then it's just a record scratch moment for her where she's like wtf where did that come from.

It's either just normal domestic moment like I mentioned or her future S/O sparring with her (which may or not freak her out bc of the fucking Mikio incident).

But when Mizu successfully pins her S/O down they just laugh and smile, knowing Mizu would never hurt them on purpose.

That made Mizu's heart flutter more than anything Mikio had ever done for her.

She's going to be in denial about it for a long time. Like... a really, really long time. Cue the "but we're just friends"!

How does she react when she realises she's into girls?

Due to the internalized homophobia instilled within her as a child and other such thoughts she starts to think she may be going crazy.

She'll start to pull away out of fear, not truly understanding her emotions.

Which, of course, will hurt her future S/O and cause them to worry.

Seeing her future S/O so distraught kind of triggers something in her. She realises that there's nothing inherently wrong with her, that she's still a person and the person she likes is still a person and that there shouldn't be anything wrong with liking her S/O. She also just didn't like seeing you worry over her, it hurt her more than any blade that she's been stabbed with.

Now onto her actual physical attraction.

Once the whole emotional side of it is somewhat sorted in her mind she finds herself not so subtly staring at her S/O's tatas.

She doesn't strike me as someone with high libido or anything despite what I've seen a lot of headcanons say. But I think shes the kind of lover to enjoy getting her S/O off a lottttt

I don't believe she was ever really attracted to Mikio sexually but seeing her S/O's kimono slip off their shoulder to reveal some titty has her red and hot.

She likes that it's soft. She really likes the softness of her S/O's body.

The night before Arthur comes home, you try to sort yourself out. Routine is only another day away and you crave it so bad that your mouth waters with it. You decide you’re going to speak with Arthur when he gets back, tell him that you understand why he has left John with you, but it’s just not working out.

Standing at the kitchen sink, washing clean cups again, let John stand to the side of you. You’re feeling petty, the thought of being rid of him soon filling you with a specific type of bravery. It’s like he knows, you tell yourself. That’s why he’s being so quiet. Waiting for you to speak first rather than the usual, where he lets you know what he’s going to do, as if to forewarn you to not even try.

You hear him stand, turn around just to see him adjust himself in his trousers. You frown, confused. Perhaps stare a bit too intently at his crotch. He looks back at you, amused in the way that you imagine hunters are when they hear an animal yowl in pain from a shot. “Can I help you, ma’am?” he asks.

You flush but refuse to look away from him. “Is that just something to make you seem human? I can’t imagine you actually have -” Cut yourself off. Filthy words that have never been spoken in this house. Only the sweet back and forth of you and Arthur’s routine. Would feel like a betrayal of some kind, as if Arthur will come home and hear the echoing of your foul mouth hours after, bouncing off of the walls and settling into the grain of the wood.

“You asking if I have a cock, sweetheart?” John asks, steps closer. Slippery hands clench around glass. He looks like he’s scented blood, like he wants to dart forward and finally catch you in this elaborate game that you’ve been playing that only he knows the rules to.

“Why would you? What purpose would that have?” you return, frowning at him. Disapproving, a familiar role for you, even if it is relatively passive compared to how you feel now. You feel the absurd urge to hiss at him, poison in your mouth. Feel how it burns your gums.

“Most likely a function for bored housewives,” he drawls, dark eyes intent on you.

You freeze, stare at him. You know that he isn’t supposed to speak to you like that. Know that backchat must not be some certain part of his hardwiring. He seems to be challenging you as well, watching you with that half-smirk, half-scowl of his. You tilt your hand under the hot water, let the snapping burn of your skin pull your focus away.

He clicks his tongue, as if disappointed. Feel the point of his stare on the sink. You twist your hand, the squeak of flesh against glass, grating.

Your skin turns red under the water, the flow shattering against the nerves on the back of your palm before it is suddenly stopped. You startle, heat at your side suddenly as he pulls your hands out of the sink, dries them with a gentleness that quiets you.

The hair across his knuckles tickles against the smooth of your own. He holds them, as if he just wants to. Function done, the gap between one order and the next. You stay quiet, watch him. Study him for once.

He’s openly frowning now, thumb against the blotches of red. “Be careful,” he says, suddenly, as if the temperature reading he has just read on you is not to his liking. Body twisting with displeasure. Feel him run it through his synthetic surface and into your skin, running through wiring and into your blood vessels, becomes your own.

Open your mouth to snark back, silenced when he gives you a firm look. “It’s only water,” you mutter, sullen.

“Doesn’t matter,” he barks back. Culls you. “I don’t want you near the sink.” You bristle. “Or will you wear gloves next time?” He looms over you, a threat in the size of him. The urge to behave for someone bigger than you. The way he doesn’t have to throw you around, the shift of his bicep is implicit enough.

“I’ll wear gloves,” you give in, mullish. Desperate not to be banned from the sink in your own home.

He settles with that, one last smooth over the back of your hand, leaves you feeling like static. “Good girl,” he murmurs. You hear it like a gunshot, and spend the rest of the day with music blaring in the kitchen, hoping to drown that sound out before your husband comes home and finds it in the metal of the sink.

Or worse, hears the intake of breath you emitted. Guilty.

venom the last dance is the third movie in the venom series and people who haven't watched the movies are probably wondering whats going on. whoever you're following has probably posted or reblogged some sort of eddie brock x venom thing. yes of course. mlm ships are popular and theyre the main characters. of course theyre gonna get shipped. just like stucky or other hot main male characters. nothing really special about these guys. right?

wrong! because as opposed to the other ones being non-canon ships where we just look at everything and say "thats gay" or look at it through shipping tinted glasses, symbrock is a bit special.

first movie moments. im skipping smaller moments and i'll try to not write out the whole plot.

eddie and venom go through a whole car chase scene on a motorbike, and the moment eddie calls him cool, they get his by a car. often interpreted as venom losing focus from the praise

-omg why would that lead to venom losing focus?? because venom, on its planet, is a loser. bottom of the barrel. an outcast. and someone called it cool. venom sees that eddie is also a bit of a loser on his planet. theyre two losers together. Eddie asks why he doesnt just kill him and hop to another host, but venom says that hes a good match (other bodies reject the symbiote, and die from organ failure/eaten from the inside) and venom is "starting to like him" venom also gets a bit stuck on the moment that eddie says we instead of i. its both of them. together.

later eddie finds out his organs were failing (venom was starving and was working on fixing it) and when they get seperated the way he acts is kind of framed like a bad breakup. its not "im free from this parasite! yippie!" its "i trusted you and you hurt me. we're done" sort of breakup. venom tries to say he was trying to fix it but eddie ignores it (not the exact words but if you look at it you'll get it)

eddie gets taken away by the bad guys and venom hops on eddies ex and they reunite. and its not just reunite.

fun fact! theres a sort of deleted scene where eddie asks "who was i kissing just then?" and she says "mostly me" and then we hear venoms voice saying "well actually it was mostly me!" ALSO at the end of the movie, she says it was venoms idea. this was venom and eddie making out. not eddie and his ex. they do not get back together. she has a new boyfriend and they've moved in together so its serious.

venoms original purpose as to why the symbiotes are on earth was as a scouting party for an invasion force. venom changes his mind on being on the invasion part. eddie asks what REALLY made him change his mind "you did eddie."

also after the movie was in theaters they made an additional romcom trailer to promo the dvd/blueray release. the movie. framed as a romcom. im not kidding. on sonys official youtube. for both movies.

speaking of both movies, the second one has them breaking up! full on divorce after fighting and arguing!! very sad. and then venom goes to a rave (october, there are costumes, hes fully transformed) and says "i am out! of the eddie closet!" HES COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET. one person at the rave has a mask on that says "kiss me" and venom says "sorry no, not my type" THEN WHAT IS YOUR TYPE HUH??? MEN?? SWEATY LOSER GUYS??? his hosts keep failing because theyre not as compatible as eddie. and after having fun venom is sad and wishes eddie could've seen him. they of course, get back together* after some apologizes and because they need to fight a serial killer who also has a symbiote (carnage) because previously, they went to interview him, he insulted eddie, venom got mad on eddies behalf and grabbed him, resulting in getting bit, and that spawned a new symbiote from the blood. also the serial killer, (cletus kassidy) went to bust out his girlfriend who upon seeing his tentacles breaking her glass cage, called it hot.

*when they get reunited (anne helps out again) theres no kiss this time, and annes fiancee, after seeing them fight, says "those two need some serious couples counseling"

after a big climactic fight and mutual reassuring that theyre a perfect match for one another, they flee to some random place in mexico where they sort of have a love confession. theres an extended deleted version of it but i think many of us think they cut it down to save it for the third movie. also they get transported to the mcu in the post-credit and then re-appear in the post-credit of spider-man where theyre just sitting at a bar asking the bartender about the blip and thanos. venom decides to go skinny dip but they get transported back to their universe. net zero gain.

Yandere America - Naughty Little Girl

Trigger warnings: emotional abuse, stalking, isolation, implied torture and rape

Two options would come to mind here. The first would be that he would have already know of you and taken a slight interest in you. Chances are that he would already be asking around about you and gouging your character and mettle. Alfred would start making moves, poking and prodding to chart what course he should take when you would abruptly disappear. Alfred would be irate and frantic and probably not really notice the strange new person that entered his life shortly afterwards. 

America would be too obsessed with finding you, with rescuing you from whoever had kidnapped you to notice that you would be right there under his nose, albeit in disguise. Most of the time, he would be daydreaming and simultaneously worrying about you being in peril and needing him to save you. Fantasy of preventing you from being sacrificed by occultists, of saving you from obsessive tyrants, of rescuing you from mad scientists would speed through his head and make him jittery. 

He would go chasing after any sign of you, and likely land in a dead end. Chances are though that he would catch onto your new career in intelligence through these roundabout investigations. Upon uncovering you he would be torn between delight and anger. Delight, because you would have been so close the entire time. Should you be sly and clever enough, then you could capitalise on that to nurture delusions of you wanting him in your own way and just being too shy to really come forward about it. And of being hindered in declaring your everlasting love by evil-doers. 

Should you fail on that front, however, then his wrath would come forward. How dare you move against him? Alfred would fly into a rage that he would make you feel - you would be an evil-doer that would have to be redeemed and reformed in order to become perfect for him. 

Likewise, he would be irate would he know not of you beforehand. You would be a curious and tantisiling thing that would enter his life at the most opportune moment. Perhaps it would even be your task to seduce him as part of a honey pot trap or just in order to coax secrets out of him yourself. Either way, he would slowly be drawn to you, enchanted by you. Your plans would backfire, when he would start seeing you more as a possession than a confidant. 

One your true identity, appearance and purpose would be uncovered, then he would lock you away for the longest time in order to “show you the light”. There would be a lot of self doubt on his side in this case, since he would be disgusted with himself for falling for the enemy. With Alfred being Alfred, he would probably soon convince himself that your relationship would be some sort of James Bond-esque romance and that he can make you turn to his side through mind-blowing sex the power of love. The very hideous power of love mind you. 

“You know, being a personification like me wouldn't have saved you. Really, you are very lucky that I am a personification, and that you are a human”, Alfred mused.  When he redirected his gaze back to you, he caught you baleful glaring at him for a moment. Noticing his attention, you then softened your features and lowered yourself until only your eyes were peering over the rim of the bathtub. If you weren't just so cute when you were angry, then he would've reprimanded you for your attitude.  “Really? I would have preferred the security that being a nation would’ve given me”, you remarked, your voice somewhat muffled by the porcelain.  You still had such a mouth on you, and god damn him because that was one of your features that he loved and hated about you. At the moment, you had pressed yourself against the tub wall and graciously covered the water you were taking up with foam.  It was supposed to be a treat for you, since you had been behaving so well as of late. Your English had even gotten a more proper American accent to it. The bubble bath was also supposed to be a treat for him, with how he had soldiered through all your prior tantrums. The thought of nothing but foam clinging to your dips and curves made his mouth water and he had to force himself to not linger on that mental image least too much of his blood rush south.   He wouldn’t have had to imagine it if you would just wash like a normal human being.  “Right up until I would have caught you on your first day, due to being able to sense if it is a nation or a human that I’m looking in the eye”, he flippantly remarked. “Would have made some things easier though. Like punishing you - could just hack off a limb or carve out some flesh to teach you a lesson. There wouldn’t have been the danger of making you ugly, since you could have just regrown those body parts.” You ducked until only your scalp was visbile. There really wasn’t any reason for you to act so shy. He had seen everything, between impromptu strip searches and everything else.

Twitter "gang" is acting out...again. About the purpose of art / freedom of artists

Twitter gang is ripping each other's heads off because some artists out there make choices that they don't agree with.

Let's leave it at that for now.

I just read that “art is supposed to be comforting”. I find this confusing and also I don't agree. I don't know much about art (in that case it's about drawing). Sometimes I look at fan art and it really is nice and comforting and I just like looking at it. But other Sleep Token fanart I find provocative or even triggering. I see nothing wrong with that in general. It should be an artists choice to portray Vessel however they want to do portray him. Twitter gang has no problem with overly sexual depictions of Vessel and the other guys but someone draws Vessel with his scars and then Sleep Token Twitter goes wild. What the?! And also there is not one purpose of art in my opinion. It can have so many.

“It's overstepping boundaries and also not being protective of Vessel...?” What...?!

How we see someone influences them btw. If you look at Vessel and think of him as a weak human that needs your protection then you actually “make” him weak.

I see him as someone who struggled but found his strength. He does not need my protection. I learned and grew a lot over the past years and the reason for that was all the past trauma that I finally started to resolve. If someone out there looks at me like some weak creature it would make me feel weak.

Something else....it was also said that everyone (especially the ones who struggled with self-harm themselves) agreed that it's not okay to talk about self-harm?!

Hmm....pretending bad things don't exist does not make them go away!

And also I had a lot of conversations ever since starting this tumblr about that topic and also I have always written about it, from the very start and no one ever came at me for it. It was the opposite.

I'm sorry but I'm not going to shut up for anyone's comfort. I do hide posts like these because I want it to be your choice if you read about these topics. Some days I would not want to read my own stuff because it's too triggering. But I won't be silenced. I mean of course talking about this topic in a respectful way!

And also I'd rather have someone come talk to me or open up about their struggles then make them feel like they are wrong for how they feel.

This topic is arleady being so misunderstood and having some sort of "thought control" about that topic is not helping at all.

Whatever...I keep forgetting that so many fans are still quite young and not some close to 40 year old women. I am responible for my employees (and also tenants but I never talk about that). hey? hi? I am unexpectedly emotional about TMNT 2003 season 1 episode 9 Garbageman?

the boys are shown to be good friends with their local unhoused population, and they bring them supplies (an effort often repaid with interesting or useful things these folks have found on the streets and think the brothers might like) as well as watch out for their safety

so of course when unhoused people start going missing, the boys begin investigating

also, and this feels significant: there's a sort of leader figure amongst the unhoused population refered to only as 'Professor.' he's a very intelligent and well-spoken older black man, and his outfit includes a colourful kufi cap. he and Donnie talk about science and Donnie offers to lend him an interesting book; he's also later shown teaching his peers about the big bang around a fire

the Professor is also, notably, the character who responds to being kidnapped and told by the Weird Villain that they're all here to Do Labour with the firm proclamation: "I'd rather be a free man, living on the streets, than a slave in your stinking empire."

additionally, the aforementioned villain tells these people that they're "human garbage - no home, no purpose, no value." he claims to have given them new purpose (Doing Labour). the moral of the episode isn't stated outright, but very much argues that these people absolutely do have value and are completely deserving of dignity and respect, like the brothers have been showing them without question from the beginning

after the villain is defeated, the Professor and the other unhoused folks actually decide (by vote!) to stay where they are, because there's shelter and food freely available to them here now, with the Bad Guys out of the way. the 'here' in question is a large waste disposal site, and these folks are accustomed to making do with what others have thrown away, so they feel they can find everything they need right there. it's not perfect but it does reward them the dignity of a safe place to call home!

this is all couched in the corniness and the goofiness you would of course expect from a 2003 TMNT cartoon, but... I feel like there was some very genuine thought, and compassion, that went into writing this episode. I'm feeling Emotions I didn't expect

DID ANYONE else notice how it is kind of implied that ALPHYS planned to bring ASRIEL back to life as FLOWEY ON PURPOSE?

I never see anyone talk about this so I gotta bring it up. Hear me out for this one.

Alphys had watched the tapes, she knew how [TRUECHARA] and Asriel died. She didn't want to show said tapes to Asgore because she knew how absolutely traumatizing learning that would be. That his own kids tried to sacrifice themselves and died in vain. Nobody else knows the truth, so the way monsters believed it happened is spread as a sort of legend to this day. So, Alphys knows that when Asriel collapsed in the throne room, his dust spread across the garden.

And of course, she would definitely also know about the belief and tradition that the essence of monsters lives on in their dust and where it is sprinkled over. That much is a given, it's a part of their culture.

We know her original intent was to bring one of the flowers to life to act as a vessel for both human and monster SOULS. This way, freedom could be so much closer than any of them imagined. Alphys talks about it in ENTRY 07.

The actual entry that Alphys wrote right after this one, ENTRY 08, only appears after you have talked to her in TRUE LAB. In it, she ominously talks about having chosen "a candidate". We don't learn what exactly her intentions are, only that it is meant to be a surprise for ASGORE. Alphys believes that this one special flower, different from all the others, might work for her experiment.

I find it interesting how she added on how it appeared just after the Queen left... Followed up by wondering what would happen if a being without a SOUL gained the will to live. Which feels almost... too specific. From making it a surprise, to talking about how special that flower is and when it grew, to calling it THE vessel.

Not the vesselS, plural, because surely she must be experimenting on all of these flowers. No, THE vessel, singular! This one special flower she thought would come to life if none of the others did.

Many entries later, Alphys notes that after returning THE VESSEL to its garden, it disappeared. And that's where her entries end. Granted, it is still kept generally vague. Maybe Alphys just thought that the flower was special in another way. Maybe she thought that Asriel's dust would have some kind of magic left to make the vessel coming to life more likely. Or, maybe she saw bringing that particular flower back to life as some kind of sweet, symbolic gesture towards Asgore? With all that knowledge she has gathered though, on how monster bodies and SOUL magic works..... is it really unlikely that she got too curious for her own good? We never really find out what her true intentions were, because beyond freaking out when she learns that Papyrus has been talking to a talking flower, she never talks about it (him).

So! I could totally see that Alphys wanted to see if she could bring Asriel back in some shape or form! And!!! I would like to know what you guys think!!! Because I am!! Going!! Crazy!!!!!!

Cristabel and the proverbial sandwich

(Spoilers for Harrow and Nona the Ninth)

I have not known inner peace since I saw someone say, "But come on, does anyone ACTUALLY buy John's story about how the nun died?"

Because honestly, I'd just kind of gone, "Super random, very weird interaction, boy there sure are cult mindworms at play here," and moved on to the next page.

But as soon as I saw that question asked, the amount I did not buy that story hit me like a load of bricks, to the point I'm kind of amazed that I ever did believe it.

Two people. A locked door. A nuclear standoff. A close-range head injury.

On one side, a full-fledged Catholic nun—well done, that’s the classic—who's best friends with a staunchly atheist world-class scientist and believes, if we're to believe John, that Jesus's problem is that he didn't stick to office hours.

On the other, a woman described as, "A total delight. Effervescent. Kind to animals and children. A master of the sword. Did not have the intellect you’d ordinarily find in a sandwich or an orange, and was a sickening twerp into the bargain."

Oh, and in the middle, there's also a necromancer who wants to bring back his friends... minus any little details about things he they might have done wrong. He "knows where memory lives in the brain", and they "won't have any of it." And "guys as careful as me don't make mistakes," but then again, all that means is that if he kills someone, he did it on purpose.

C— talks her way into a locked room with John, who's on the phone threatening some world leaders with a nuke, expresses care and concern for him, and then... decides he needs more data on the soul? And kills herself to provide that for him?

I'll be honest, I just don't believe that John was an ordinary guy, totally normal, could be any of us, and he just got put in a really stressful situation and made some bad choices but who HASN'T done things they aren't proud of??? I reject that point of view completely. Like, Elon Musk in any given interaction probably is really stressed out and unhappy and having trouble responding in a way that's at all well-considered or emotionally mature, but that doesn't mean that Musk isn't also, at baseline, a deeply stupid, petty, immature, grandiose, entitled, egocentric person. No matter what situation you put him in, he's going to keep on being those things.

I think that John's initial idea was to put the entire human population of Earth, minus some necessary staff, into some giant cryonic freezers, and give the Earth some amount of time to rest and recover from the effects of human-caused pollution. A plan about which I will confess some hesitation myself; being told "just lie down in this coffin, bro, you'll only be a little dead, I'll totally bring you back to life* in a couple centuries (*98% effective!) " does not fill me with an enthusiasm to hop on board.

And then his project got cut. And he decided, "Well, if they won't agree, I can just make them agree." After all, all that end game needs is 10 billion frozen corpses hanging out in those tin cans, and a small team of staff left to keep the place running. How it gets there is something he can afford to be flexible about. If people won't climb in on their own, he can put them there.

So when C— or the nun tell him to stop focusing on revenge, to bend all his energies to saving the world, I think he thinks: Well, I am. He's gonna wash the earth clean at the end of this! He just needs to be able to set the dominoes in motion. He just needs to engineer a situation that will justify taking his nuke out of the vault and making the pieces fall.

A situation that would be sabotaged, ruined, if anyone made a true deep sincere good-faith effort to talk him out of Plan Nuke and called the legitimacy of this crisis into any sort of question. He needs to prevent that from happening.

Actually. Also. He needs one more thing than that.

He needs an excuse to use the nuke, but also, he's finishing his homework at the very last minute. He still hasn't mastered the soul. He does need a few more test subjects.

Maybe he let her in and thought: Two birds with one stone, eh?

Like Cassie actually acts like a human being?? And like her knowledge of the original characters and cute little comments on every item are so endearing there is so much detail going into this.

The fact that they expanded on one of the fan faves Roxanne and giving her a great arc I’m in love I’m so happy

They honestly gave more depth to all the animatronics too like we finally see Bonnie’s design and get and get a taste as to what happened, also that poster Freddy gifted him I’m crying they are so cute and gay I love them

Why replace Bonnie with Monty?? Why not make a new Bonnie model?? With the prototype label on Freddy it may be confirmed that they make multiple models (well we already kinda knew that with Freddies comments but oh well)

Also Freddy?? Like is that our Freddy or a different one?? They very clearly highlighted the prototype label so they want to emphasize it, but then the head is still missing like in the princess quest ending so what is the truth??

I was really not expecting eclipse to be the way they were, very… normal? Is that the right word?? Like obviously a little delusional on when the daycare is gonna open again, but in the right mindset of like this child needs to leave this place is not safe. It is interesting to me that both he and Roxy thought that it was Cassie’s birthday, maybe that was the last day before she left the plex? Or maybe that was the day the plex caught fire? Or maybe most depressingly we are playing on Cassie’s birthday so the animatronics have it in their systems what her birthday is and wish her a happy one (if they are in the right state of mind lol)

I think you can still say it was mainly the virus but I would argue even if it’s not the virus I feel like moon is kinda justified here. Like sun has been shutting him away for a long time before this (if the books are to be believed but also in general) so when he finally gets a chance to roam free of course he’s gonna take it. And idk about u but if my alternate personality was constantly trying to shut me out and I finally got control, I probably too would try and keep my control for as long as possible. Also from what I have seen so far, not even moon is all that aggressive? Like he grabs you at the beginning, but I think that’s just his very ineffective way to get kids to sleep and other than that he just kinda stays away

Poor sunny baby is stuck in the ar world 🥺🥺 I didn’t notice at first but yeah everytime you talk to him it’s only in the ar world. And the end part where you switch them out for eclipse if you do that in the ar world, he says not for me it’s for moon.

I will say though I noticed the voice acting for them changed a little this game, like both have a higher pitch and are more goofy sounding? Like more gremlin energy than evil villainy. I wonder if that was on purpose? Both of them sounded more like the other so maybe that was the reason? Interest interest

Also their mouth moves?? Sort of?? That’s so silly to me they have a whole working mouth system and their face mask doesn’t work with at all 😭

Does give me lore intrigue tho cause like why do their mouths move but not anymore?? Did something happen?? Are they just not maintained enough?? They also move outward instead of up and down (at least from what I saw) so is the mechanism different?

Also the way that sun and moon talk about eachother is so interesting. Like moon says the light hurts “us” and sun says “no the other me” like they seem to almost consider eachother more connected than we first thought, like they’re not just coworkers or strangers they are almost like two sides of the same person. It’s very interesting and I wonder where people will take this.

Ok ok update moon does have a jump scare but it’s ridiculously hard to get and I’d still argue he’s not as vicious as he was base game. I mention in another post but eclipse being as kind as he is and being (presumably) a combination of both AIs, gives even more evidence moon is supposed to be kind and caring like his posters suggest but something went wrong. Also Cassie’s comments on their plushes show that there were kids who truly liked the daycare.

In honor of The Old Guard 2 actually existing soon, I decided I had to rewatch the first one for the millionth time and write an essay about it because mental stability is overrated. This movie is what I’d consider a low level fixation in my head. Nowhere close to the Inception brainrot, but I think of this movie fondly and have watched it a bunch of times because it’s so easy to watch. I know a lot of the general public sees it as some stupid action movie that Netflix shat out, but I give it a lot more credit than that. There’s creativity and heart to this story that a lot of Netflix garbage films don’t have. So here’s some rambling for anyone who cares. Also, side note, I haven’t watched the trailer for the second movie because I have a weird thing against trailers and refuse to watch them so if anyone actually reads this, plz don’t spoil anything to me thanks <3

When I try and think about why I love this movie so much, I go to one of the same reasons I love Inception so much: the world it creates. These four people have been traveling the world together for eons, seen so much carnage and beauty and insanity together, and have been forever bonded as a result. I really do want to hear all the stories in this movie that they don’t tell us. I want to hear about Andy conquering the world on her own, want to see Nicky and Joe’s love story, even want to see what happened to Booker’s family. I’m sure there are fics out there for all of this and that’s what I love about a story that builds such a big world. It inspires creation. Besides invoking emotion, I think that is art’s purpose.

Another reason I love this movie is because of how surprisingly complex all of its characters are. Sure, they all sort of fall into action movie tropes, and I really am giving this movie more credit than it probably deserves, but I don’t care I love it. Andy is a fascinating character. She’s so jaded for most of the movie, and who wouldn’t be? She’s unable to see the big picture anymore because in a way, it doesn’t have meaning to her anymore. She’s been alive for so long, so much longer than the rest of the group, and she’s done a lot of that time alone or with people she lost. How she affects the world all blends together in her head and ends up meaning nothing. Sure, she saves some lives, but she knows that in another twenty years some other catastrophe will seemingly erase all the work she’s done. Her ability to see so far ahead, to predict the world, makes it impossible for her to unsee those patterns. I mean, come on. Even being alive for 20 years has made me jaded. Just learning history shows me how we’re bound to repeat it. Hell, the state of the US right now is enough to bring anyone to near ruin. Imagine experiencing that kind of loss of hope for so long? Andy has been trying to save the world for eons and it just keeps on dying anyway. I can’t blame her for wanting to give up. She’s developed a black and white mentality. Can’t save everyone, so save no one. It’s an extreme only someone as apathetic and old as she has can develop, and it’s something only Nile can undo.

Nile is probably my favorite character because of what she represents. Andy says to Nile that she thinks Nile showed up to show her what it was like to feel invincible again. But I kind of disagree. To me, it seems more like Nile showing up is there to help Andy relearn humanity. Andy loses her immortality, and so for the first time she has to remember what it is like to ache. She has to hurt. She has to suffer consequences, she must live and fight protecting herself rather than leaning on death. Nile helps her regain her personhood and remember what it feels like to be unremarkable. To be human. I think that’s exactly what Andy needed. To understand what it is like to feel.

Joe and Nicky are of course probably the biggest highlight of the movie. The first time I watched this they were wholly unexpected and an extremely welcome surprise. They’ve been together since the 17th century, holy shit. How do you stand someone for that long? Really though, they are so insanely lucky. They never had to be alone. That completely changes their view on their immortality. They can see good in it because it not only gave them their soulmates but gave them forever with each other. Their closeness in small moments touches me deeply. The gentle touches, the “there’s a TV!”, the checking on each other each time they die to make sure they get up again. I am so afraid the next movie is gonna fuck them up and I am pleading with the writers not to.

I appreciate Nicky’s spiritualism through time. He seems the most at peace out of all of them not just due to this intense, lasting love with Joe but also because he sees clear purpose. He can live with not knowing the “why” because he is content with just that fact that, to him, there is a “why” in the first place. He feels like he was given this power for a reason, and that when he loses it, it’ll be for an equally important reason. I think this is probably the ideal mindset to develop if you were given this ability. You have to find a way to believe in it or it’ll destroy you. It’s a good metaphor for anything that causes someone adversity, I think. Sure, you can hate this thing inside of you that makes you fundamentally different from those around you. You can see it for all of it’s bad, all of the pain it causes you, and treat it like the enemy. I certainly don’t blame Andy and Booker for doing that, or anyone in the real world for doing that with their adversities, physical or otherwise. I know I fall into those traps. But in the end, you have to live with what you’ve got regardless of how you feel about it. You can hate and hate, but you can’t hate something out of your body. Nicky knows that. He doesn’t have resentment for his ability. To him, it’s a gift. He finds the good in it. That, to me, is crucial to sanity. Joe seems to be the more pragmatic of the relationship, which makes that van scene all the more special. He’s supposedly the less lofty one, the less spiritual and more grounded, and yet he gives this syrupy yet genuine declaration of his love to Nicky. I just love how his affections for Nicky pour out in a manner that Nicky understands best.

Late in the movie, Andy says something to Booker about how they’ve been doing a shit job with their immortality, not because they’ve achieved nothing but because of the mindsets they’ve developed. I love that the answer to Booker and Andy’s grief is what they’ve been missing: an acceptance of love. Because it isn’t that they aren’t loved. They’re loved by the group, but they refuse to let it in because of all the pain love has caused. Booker lost his family, Andy lost her friends who might as well have been family. They can’t trust love. Can you really blame them? They’ve become bitter towards love because all it’s done in the end is hurt them. Trust and faith in that emotion is too difficult for them. But Joe and Nicky have love as a lifeline. It keeps them human, keeps them hopeful. They have the unique opportunity of never having to lose that and yet always having that fear in the back of their mind. Andy finally at the end realizes that it’s not love which ruined her but the lack of feeling it in the first place.

Speaking of love and affection, I’ve always sort of “headcanoned” Andy as being queer, though not in a traditional 21st century way. I mean, think about it. Andy was alive long, long before sexuality was even a concept. She would probably never really subscribe to modern day labels because it’s all just noise to her at this point. She’s been alive for so long that it means nothing to her. I can imagine she’s gone through the world falling for whoever she damn well pleases. I’ve always seen her relationship with Quynh as more than friendship. I don’t know if that’s purposeful by the movie but it’s what I’m going with cause idk I can do what I want.

Booker and Andy sort of, kind of have some implied connection beyond friendship that I don’t really want to touch cause I don’t really see much value in it. Booker is an interesting character. I end up having sympathy for him despite what he does. He’s definitely the most tortured of the group besides Andy, and I’d even argue that he’s more hopeless than she is. At least Andy still holds value in battle, in fighting even just for the sake of it. I don’t think Booker has that. He just wants this to end. Not only is he full of this grief, he’s had to watch Joe and Nicky be happy with this thing that feels like a curse to him. Even Andy must be difficult to be around to an extent because she’s so ancient she’s sort of beyond the level of grief he’s at. His grief feels closer to the surface for him, always ready to spew out, while hers has been calcified through centuries of burying it all. Joe being the angriest at him makes the most sense to me. Him and Nicky understand Booker’s suffering the least, and I would say Joe even less so than Nicky. Nicky at least has his intense spiritualism that connects him to emotions he may not entirely feel. Joe is plain old angry, can’t see anything besides the betrayal Booker has caused. I think everyone’s reactions are accurate. The way Andy screams and shakes in the betrayal has always haunted me. Imagine being with someone for so long and then they do something like that to you? Andy already can’t trust, can’t love. How is she supposed to learn how to after that? I hope that in the century he’s gone, Nile can help Andy learn again. And I don’t mean that in a romantic way. I’m sure some people see Andy and Nile together, but I think the years between them are just kind of insurmountable. Andy is a mentor, the jaded teacher to the naive student. I see a parental relationship far more than a romantic one.

One more thing I forgot to mention, one of my favorite lines is when the doctor says to Nicky: “I believe this can change the world.” And Nicky responds with, “A fine justification. I’ve heard it so many times before.” The doctor doesn’t know what to say. Her and Merrick have this close-minded egotistical goal that assumes somehow, they are the ones who can solve this mystery despite it existing for thousands of years. I love that this line completely undos any actual justification you can give to these villains. “They want to save the world! They’re just trying to help! They have so much grief!” Yes, sure, sure. But I’ve heard it so many times before. History repeats. Nicky knows that. Someone should probably listen to him.

I’m just going on and on at this point. I just feel like this movie is something special, something I didn’t think Netflix could be capable of. We have a diverse, queer cast, action sequences that are well done and well choreographed, and a plot that almost makes sense. There are weaknesses in this film, of course, but overall it feels so strong to me. I’ll probably rewatch it again before the new one comes out, and I’m sure I’ll have a lot to say when July 2nd comes around.
