honestly seems sooo dumb. and like. Ok disclaimer. i have not actually read it so take all this with a grain of salt because i've only consumed information secondhand through people posting about it (someone made a comprehensive review of what's going on right here) but it just seems silly

like i am a big proponent of the 'batfam' Needing to return to having drama and conflict because the weird push for happy happy nuclear family batfam and no drama whatsoever has had very weird and ooc consequences (looking at you tt making dick call bruce dad) but this particular brand of conflict is just. Dumb. and not what i want in terms of That. and also seems to implicate selina as some kind of mother figure??? to them??? which is so insane and incorrect and butchers her character completely... i mean it seems like the general conflict of her v. bruce is already way out of character but that right there is the final nail in the coffin LMAO i saw those panels of her about jason and i just. selina honey i'm so sorry i know this is not in your heart....

like intuitively i know it will never be like 90s/00s batfam like in bruce wayne: murderer?/fugitive where, when bruce was acting like a bitch and dick was having an issue with that, they got into a fistfight and dick crashed into the display case holding jason's old robin costume during it like?????? we are never going to get that ever again. but i think they're trying. but they're still trying to lean into this nuclear family ideal (or a version of it anyway) where uhhhh mom and dad are fighting LMAO and it's just. idk. it seems bad.

i've also seen and NO ONE quote me on this because it was in passing and again. haven't read it and yes i know i should read it before speculating but i don't have time for that. anyway. i was seeing something about how bruce's evil batman alter ego thing is supposed to like... make up for the abuse he's done to them? like some panel about his 'evil alter ego' calling tim a soldier and the 'real bruce' being like No!!!! That is my son!!! so i feel like it's some weird roundabout way of absolving him of the emotional and physical abuse he's inflicted on them? which is again stupid. and atp too core to his character to really fix other than having a thorough reconciliation which is never going to happen. and then i recently heard about the shit with jason and it's just like. what is going on here. what we doing right now. idk

(also i was seeing something about that alter ego thing being maybe ableist? i can't speak on that but i know that was brought up at some point... also the name origins being a tad suspicious... idk)

but again. haven't read it. just seen other people talking about it and panels. but i do feel reasonably good about concluding that it's not good LMAO

#dc just doesn't know balance anymore #they're swinging to extremes #and its all bad #like og 'batfam' wasn't all happy happy but it wasn't all angsty and depressing #it was better at acknowledging that everyone had their own thing to do on their own time #but when there was a time of need - like no man's land - they would come together #and it wasn't perfect. there were issues. but they had nice moments #i always think about jean-paul and cass's relationship in nml that was like never addressed ever again #anyway. yeah #inbox #anonymous

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

Peeta buring the bread and tossing some to her then taking a beating from his mom is a HUGE thing in the books.#he used his resources to help her like you all said someone should.#district 12 DID (rip) care about Katniss before the hunger games. why do you think she was allowed to hunt? or how her trades were good #these are the little ways 12 can shows Katniss they love her. but again Katniss doesn't see this and YES its because she had ptsd before the #hunger games as well. i swear some of you make it seem like d12 was all living a life of luxury and glaring down at Katniss.#other things that show Katniss is in hight standing with at least her people of d12 is her dad was known enough through d12 for peeta dad to #comment on his singing along with his commenting on her mom. also her mom is a healer in the community. yeah her parents arnt the top but #of d12 but they are/were definitely high staning in the Seam.

My favourite underrated thing about Louis de Point du Lac is that he truly is the least curious vampire to ever be made and he does not give fuck about vampires despite being one.

Its Claudia who goes to libraries, reads the folklore, tries to learn as much as she can and pushes Lestat for answers about who made him and where the others are. Claudia says Vampire Pride and Louis says hmmm Vampire Tolerance.

And Louis...truly does not care about vampire history,law, culture. He's never even thought to ask. There are vampire laws?...ok...Lestat never cared about them and he's not going to either, lol. He's broken a few and he will continue to do so. Oh you have a coven? he's not gonna join it, he's gonna do his own thing. but good for you good for you.

the 500+ year old Coven Leader, he's gonna call Louis, Maitre, actually.

He has fire powers? thats kinda cool. he'll learn that but only cause it lets him vent his feelings about Lestat.

Lestat and Armand say the name of the vampire queen in front of him and Lestat straight up says, "Louis has no idea who that is" and do you think Louis cares, outside of the fact that for some reason it means he can't kill Lestat? No! Do you think in the 77 years he's been with Armand he ever took 5 minutes to ask a follow up question? No!

Do you think he will care about Akasha in season 3? Doubt it! Outside of her obsession with Lestat, who is the only person left on the planet he seems to be able to filter Caring About This Shit through

He blatantly breaks the 3rd law and publishes a book about being a vampire and when the other vampires get pissed not only does he not apologise he literally sends them his location and says 'you wanna fight? lmao don't miss'

I love him. Daniel Molloy is gonna need to bring his A game because Louis will not be solving a single mystery next season, nor would it even occur to him to try.

i love the headcannon that both tim and cass look scarily alike, to the point they could be twins.

like they both share the same general lithe build, they’re the same short height, cass has a short bob while tim has his baby mullet, their training is similar due to their backgrounds with lady shiva and the loa, and (depending on your headcanon) both waisan- so i can definitely see instances where they’re confused for each other or where they mess with everyone around them.

cass on patrol in red robin gear so tim can go on a date with bernard:

only thing i know for certain is that if "breaking bad" took place during modern times, jesse would've used his cash to buy a drone and there would've been a sick ass sequence filmed from drone perspective and one episode cold open would've been all scary and sinister and it would end with an ominous shot of the drone laying all crushed and fucked up on the floor to imply harm done to jesse. and it would be really sad

what's with the weird glorification of smoking that's come back lately

like

I've seen so many posts that paint opposing smoking as some impossibly Loser-ish or puritanical stance and I really don't get it

it makes you, your house, and your clothing stink, destroys your teeth, and gives you lung cancer. opposing it is. Correct. obviously addiction is very complicated and quitting can be hard, but just saying "smoking is gross and harmful as a practice (including vaping)" is True and Right actually

some of you have never grown up hearing about how some beloved family member died a slow, agonized, wasting death of smoking-induced cancer, or watching it firsthand for yourself, and it shows
