He's an oath of Vengeance paladin.

yeah, I'll lore dump about him a little.

His parents separated when he was young, and his mother unwittingly got involved with a Bhaalist cult offshoot. He'd only see her for half the year, so she became isolated, paranoid, and her mind started to fail.

When Bishop was about 16, she became worried he'd be taken or killed. She would go on about how she had to mark him to keep him safe from the cult. Bishop loved her dearly, and would do anything to ease her worrying and suffering. So he let her carve symbols into his face.

The next time he saw his father, he (understandably) freaked out, and got Bishop's mother taken away to an asylum/prison. Bishop was super upset, he tried to explain it wasn't her fault, that she wasn't of sound mind, but his father wouldn't listen.

Bishop ran away back to the city, eventually joining a blacksmiths guild. He studied and worked there for a number of years, and he was able to visit his mother from time to time. He also met and started seeing Judge (my durge) at this time.

Uh, long story short, the cult she had gotten involved with came to find her, and murdered her for "abandoning" them. Bishop has a breakdown, and tries to drown himself in the harbor. But, a paladin spirit intervenes, asking him to take up an oath of vengeance against those who hurt him. Bishop accepts and becomes a paladin.

He tracks down some of the cultists, and kills them. He discovers Judge is there, and was one of them. Judge stabs him in the gut, trying to get Bishop to kill him. Bishop can't bring himself to do it, and ends up knocking him out, and running away from the city.

He ends up traveling around the sword coast, helping other people with revenge, avoiding his own.

Somebody give me a Kenta-Pete-Way closure. Cause for sure, and it's confirmed now too that Kenta and Pete have history together. Then what were those looks between Pete and Way, what was that??! And also Kenta's mask slipped when he saw Daddy abusing Way... A love triangle between these three would be soooooo angsty and scrumptious!!
