hiii i was wondering if you could write abt an asian mc ? with the brothers or the dateables i don't mind! i just think it would be funny to see yk asian mc who's a high achiever (so even at RAD when they know nothing abt magic they'll try to score high), always take off their shoes before entering a place (entering a place with shoes is forbidden !!), always cook rice or stuff from their country when on cooking duties ("wdym we already ate that when it was my turn last time?"), will make you special herbal tea if you're sick (first time i suggested to make tea for my ill white friend they laughed :( ), tells you to eat more and in the same fashion, whose love language is giving you food, etc... bonus point if mc swears in their mother tongue. And if the MC was living in their native country before going to the devildom, their ability to just nap anywhere as if it's normal.

As someone who grew up in an asian household it's just regular to me but i can picture the face Lucifer would make if the first time mc enter Dia's castle they take off their shoes casually or like MC stuffing Beel's mouth with food as if he just didn't swallow the biggest mouthful of udon ever saying "come on Beel you need food, you need strength to play Fangol"

As a little treat to himself, Yandere!Lucifer might do this to tease you a little, and make you beg or ask nicely for them. He'd really like the feeling of you being reliant on him, and he does enjoy a bit of light hearted teasing so it would be a warm fuzzy moment for him. Following that though he would test your eyesight and punish you if you weren't wearing the right prescription.

Yandere!Mammon will steal your glasses and then insist on helping you with everything, even things that aren't related to your sight, such as showering. He'll stand close enough to you that you can count his eyelashes when you are talking and turn your face towards him by the chin when he notices you squinting at things. Sooner or later you will find your glasses in his stuff, and he'll say he doesn't know how they got there.

Yandere!Leviathan would snatch your glasses off of your face in a fit of jealousy and stomp on them, asking furiously why you always want to look at everyone but him. Fine - better if he doesn't leave you the option at all. He'll trap you in another video game with him, where everything is unfamiliar and you can barely make out your surroundings so you have to cling to him to survive. Of course he's going to be very into roleplaying the character, so you'll have to call him whatever he says and convince him with affection to stop being salty enough to help you.

A lover of a good prank, Yandere!Satan would take your glasses while you're sleeping and replace your things with similar looking things or just rig them, then watch you through the many, many cameras he's got all over. It's like one of his cat videos! He put slimy bugs in your house slippers, unscrewed your door from the hinges so when you try to leave your room it falls over onto you, replaced your toothpaste with a tube of frosting, set up your shower to hit you with a mildly corrosive acid that painfully burns your skin. Haha! What good fun! When you finally call out to him and ask him for help he'll return your glasses and help take care of any of the pain he caused you.

Yandere!Asmo seems like one of those people who would take your glasses and put them on and then be like "WOW YOU REALLY CAN'T SEE!" He'll probably wave them above his head and tell you to come and get them from him so that you have to willingly get close to him, at which point he'll probably toss your glasses to the side because his attention is on you instead.

Yandere!Beelzebub definitely sat on your glasses by accident and broke them, and he feels really bad about it, but every time he lets you go outside you try to run away so how is he supposed to get you new ones? :( He'll help you out as much as possible with trying to see things, and you'll have many moments with him where you say "what does that say" "prime tapur special" "no that" "new charred poison belly newt spicy flavor" "no, that!" ".....2 for 1 blood strawberry tart" "never mind...". Eventually if you promise to behave and have earned his trust enough, he'll take you to replace them.

Yandere!Belphegor will take your glasses and leave little clues for you to follow to get to them. Seeing you walk around and around though, at least one of the brothers is going to offer to help you find them, and when Belphegor finds out he's gonna be hella annoyed about it. He'll probably go into your room at night, lock the door, and lie on top of you, refusing to get up. When you finally do manage to escape so you can go to school, he'll knock your glasses off your nightstand so they fall behind your bed, and then tell you to go ask the brother who helped you what happened to them, hmPH!

Not gonna lie, as a fellow Lady Who Brady's....I was twirling my hair, giggling, and immediately running to tell @lambcow about this one since I love him so much! So buckle up, this one is LONG and I could talk about him for DAYS!!!

-This precious angel is the best husband and you cannot convince me otherwise, okay??

-Like he's just the sweetest! I don't think he's necessarily over the top in his words or his deeds, but he's devoted and that's the important thing here

-Marriage is sacred to him and you're his entire world. He absolutely makes sure to treat you like that and makes sure that you know how he feels about you.

first of all THANK U SO MUCH WAAH....... im so glad you like our stuff TvT !!

second !! ill hop to the sprite explanation right here! i'll put it under the cut bc it might get long eheh

and a note: im using csp but this should work with any program! i previously used ibis for my talksprites before remaking them ^^

for my example subject, i'll be using ace! they'll be my best example since theyve gotten more use so far!

quick notes about the background; i always export my canvas as transparent to give the image that they're just a Part of the post/environment. the nametags and gradients are optional, but i feel the gradients help fill dead space and add a bit more to it- the nametags help in emulating the feel of video game dialog too (i dont tend to have the patience to actually make pokemon textboxes because i have to do it manually, so putting this over post text is my next best option.. makes it easier for chattier people, and gives screen reader accessibility as well!)

ANYWAYS, now for the actual Building of the Sprite!

where i usually start is with a base sketch of their neutral expression. i have two for All of the modern/updated talksprites, because i had initially wanted to put them at an angle to add a bit more flavor to them.. ultimately though, i stuck with the symmetrical style for my personal quality of life. i find it easier to work with and add to- i just have to be very meticulous about getting the proportions right is the main thing ^^'

now, from the sketch is the natural next step of Lining shit! and heres where the method of madness starts, because a big part of this entire thing is...

if you look at the layers, you'll see the general order of operations! basically i try to look at it as different Pieces, or Assets. its like a paper doll that you're assembling- the pieces that go behind need to go all the way in the back, then you build up. the back of someone's hair goes behind everything, then their body. then their clothes, then head, face, face accessories, bangs, and finally cartoony emotes on the very top if that's your style.

generally, i try to set my layers up for maximum customization- mixing and matching it the key for making my talksprites as versatile as possible. so stuff like having a base body that you can add changes of clothes too, using clipping layers to add shadows that would go over everything, that kinda thing.

but overall, having layer stacks worked out like this is the MOST important part, imo, for doing these talksprites. when it all comes together, the result is a clean basis for mixing and matching however you might need for both expressions and appearance. i keep everything in folders of Lineart, Shading, and Color as well, just in case i need to revisit or add to something premade later.

speaking of adding- this also allows for you to easily make any future assets for changing appearance and expression! i personally do it case-by-case, as i can't ever anticipate every expression or article of clothing i'd Ever Need. when something new is needed, i'll just make the new thing, and then it's just another piece to have in the mix! it's pretty nice! :D

tip: god remember to name your layers/folders. i used to Not and it made finding the pieces i need so hard. doing this method will result in a LOT of layers. be nice to yourself and name things accordingly!

now focusing in on the most important part of an expressive talksprite, heres the face, and the best way ive found to stack the layers so far. within all of these layers are the pieces of expressions that can make countless matches if you add enough to them. fun!

now the Eyes. the eyes . the eyebrows and mouth are pretty straightforward you just Draw and Color them and boom theyre done. but i want to draw special attention to the Eyes because figuring out how to do these were probably the thing i struggled with the MOST. its a system thats a bit more in depth than just. Doing it. here's what we got though.

the optimal stack for maximum eye expression that ive found? do lines and the coloring for those lines. SEPARATELY.

the idea is to make irises fully round so you can move them around or have wide eyed expressions without any weird cutoff in parts you failed to draw (looking at my old sprites. sighs). but to avoid having to delete or erase anything, the iris folder needs to clip onto the eye whites folder so you dont get stuff like

this . yeah.

and another thing i had to learn the hard way is that if your character has stuff like eyebags or makeup, and this is the reason my "lineart layer" has folders, if that if you put that stuff on the white layer, the irises will sit over THAT as well as the whites, resulting in some annoying little things.

see: ace's eyebags in the whites layer, VS ace's eyebags in the lines layer.

ofc this is unnecessary if you dont add that kind of detail to your own characters- in that case, the lines layers can be as simple as just being lines!

with all that, the eyes more than anything are layers i recommend having properly named. you'll need to have the right whites with the right lines, so being able to find the two pieces with the same names is important! else you could get fun bits like this:

i dont think eyes are supposed to do that.

and generally, that's the most important parts of making these that i'd say! i have a few more tips, but theyre mostly little things that are moreso optional that i'll rattle off real quick-

for shading, i just use solid black shading with a lower opacity (i know, booooo). it's the quickest and easiest way to ensure they're both consistent, and covering everything in the same way. tbh i dont every see shading as necessary for these- but it adds just that bit more of depth and extra visual appeal to it imo

a general rule i use for characters with facial hair, which is Several in missing numbers; beards go with the head base, mustaches should be redrawn with every mouth. when someone with a mustache or stubble is talking, its usually gonna be moving and contorting with the shape of the mouth:

having it be static can range from a little off, to just Weird with more extreme expressions. but thats mostly because my style leans more realistic- if you've got a more toony style, i dont think having a mouth overlapping a mustache a little will be too bad!

this is just because i put a lot of detail into stuff and is SUPER optional, but one thing i do is have two different head bases for whether a mouth is open or closed. the jaw is opening is gonna result in the chin going a bit farther down, as opposed to it being closed! all i did to make it was take the original head base, grab the jaw area, and lower it a few pixels, then filled in the gaps. work smarter not harder

when moving the irises around, i prefer to duplicate the base layer. usually to get things to look right, you'll need to move the irises independently, so its good to just have the original stay as it is because getting it back EXACTLY how it was might be difficult. plus, you can keep the moved ones for reuse later! ^-^

if your art program allows for a universal symmetry ruler, awesome! make sure you know exactly where to put it later to add to your character! and if you use a program like clip studio (like me) where the ruler only applies to one layer; at least for csp, i can put it on a folder and it applies to everything inside that folder, so i just put all the assets in one Big folder and put the ruler there. i dont know every art program, but hopefully that still helps??

if your character has strands of hair that rests in front of their shoulders like ace's wisps or leafs big old strands, draw them as a part of the bangs or put them in the same folder so they properly sit atop everything else!

ace doesnt have any hands yet, but those would go at the very top of the layer stack. heres our lovely assistant for an example!

and for now, thats all i can really think of!

these talksprites aren't ideal for a lot of bodily motion, but for stuff like that, i figure thats where hand-drawn pieces come in. generally, i have these setup to make work on updates a bit easier, as it takes me a while to draw entire original pieces (and i struggle to focus. this is in fact why the blog suddenly went quiet again), but i still want my posts to have that visual flair to them! doing an entire visual of a character from the ground up is a fair bit more work than just. drawing a symmetrical mouth onto a guy, so i've found this whole mix-n-match type of talksprite thing a godsend ^^

Now in all honesty, I don't feel like this is a fluke victory since I had MUCH stronger runs prior and just let nerves hit my ass this time (but got carried despite that)- it's earned, complain about it on your own time lmao

But I did it!

Now I can farm a ton of stuff and make a ton of stuff and become ultra powerful (maybe) and then die 10k times to the end-game bosses of Fargo Souls and maybe give up if I become convinced I just can't properly acquire the bullet hell skills necessary for them!

I will say, as a remix this is one of my favorites in the mod at the moment.

Normal moonlord is kind of... 'spammy' would be how I describe it? He's just constantly throwing projectiles all over the place and when his true eyes are busted out you start getting lasers at inopportune times and most of my victories against him have involved going "Actually, fuck this" and making a giant asphalt road from one end of the world to the other so that I can basically outpace his eyes the entire fight. THIS? It feels like a genuinely enjoyable bullet hell. Not like, Ikaruga levels, but I really- really can't express how much I would not enjoy it if it was lol

Keep it lighter, for my sanity, please :( And this was! This is a good remix :) If the damage was lower I'd be clambering for it to be base game- same with the pillars tbh! The weapon type demands for both moonlord and the pillars are neat to me- definitely a "Please make this expert+ only, thank you" mechanic, but I think if it was softened a bit to just a damage penalty and not immunity it could work as nice flavor :)

Honestly I think almost all of the eternity remixes have been really fun- some of which felt so nice I wish they were slapped in base game as well with the same considerations for nerfing to match base equipment- with only a couple feeling.... "Not Right" for base game and not more fun for my preferences I guess I'd say.

Like I didn't think bee was any more fun or interesting, it was just different and trying to be harder. I DO NOT think Duke is more fun in large part because I genuinely think the debuff associated with his fight is entirely unfun.

Same with plantera's debuff to be honest but her debuff only hurt me once in all my matches, Duke's debuff is like "Haha! Clipped you with my phase 3 mega speed, you lost all your max health and die in one hit now" that's not fun for a lower experience player like me.

I will say almost all the adjustments to his moveset are actually really nice- the horizontal/vertical sharks that phase in before he dashes at you were 10/10 extra gameplay, his bubble patterns were honestly nice even if they screwed me over a few times. His final phase just wasn't it at all for me, it became "Just dash away a lot and you'll win, this is bullshit"- and the use of his tornados sucked ass in my opinion- I just genuinely don't like them at all.

It felt like a lot of "I'm a boss that moves REALLY fast and demands you keep moving constantly- oh- also I sometimes set up stage hazards that WILL INSTANTLY SHRED YOU just out of sight off screen- good luck :)" didn't like that, feel like they almost needed a built in boss arrow to always denote where they were. Or, you know, to not have hitboxes at all because they added nothing to his fight. That'd be nice.

ANYWAYS. Eternity mode bosses fucking rule, like genuinely I turned on eternity mode because I saw that most of the content was locked behind it and I wanted to /try/ to see what I could- I mostly turned it on for the accessories- I wanted to explore the new gear.

just as a fun bonus thing for anyone who’s curious, here are the original outlines for the comics i’ve posted so far

(there aren’t outlines for all of them because for the first few i skipped that step until i remembered that it makes the whole thing like 50 times easier)

some stuff did get cut, as you can see. some because i thought it messed with the pacing too much, some because i forgot and didn’t realize until it was too late to go back and add it without having to do a bunch of extra work (still kind of sad i forgot the “yup. right. glad we’ve established this.” bit from the gaster ask because it still makes me giggle.)

the ones that are more detailed are generally that way because i was trying to get their expressions right. neither frisk or sans are very expressive characters (especially since i don’t like to draw eyebrows) so figuring out how to get them to do enough visible emoting to make the jokes work properly has definitely been a struggle a couple times. this isn’t the first time i’ve done undertale comics by any means so i do have some practice with it, but usually everything i do is angst, so getting the goofiness of this comic to come across right requires a lot of stuff i haven’t really done before.

plus, almost all of my stuff prior to this has been lyric comics, which don’t have a ton of overlap as a medium with something like this.

an askblog is definitely different to what i’m used to. it feels weird drawing so many talking heads, but it’s definitely a lot faster and easier than the more complex stuff i do in my other comics, i can usually fully draw and color a full 4-6 panel page of this comic in an hour or two max, which is definitely not something i’m used to with comics. honestly, the time investment is part of why i do them so rarely normally, so seeing how fast i can churn out ones in this format is kind of cool. maybe it’ll motivate me to do more stuff in the future…

though part of that is also probably just that i’m refusing to let myself go perfectionist mode for this comic. i have a bad habit of setting my standards so high with projects that i end up just never finishing them, which i’ve been trying to get better about lately. that’s probably my news years resolution, honestly. to just half-ass more stuff.

overall this has been really fun so far and i’m glad i decided to finally bite the bullet and try it out. i’ve always wanted to do an askblog, but i always managed to talk myself out of it before, either on the basis of the quality of my art or my ability to actually keep working on a project long-term. the former is of course an incredibly goofy rationalization from someone who first got into webcomics via xkcd of all things… (aka the comic where they’re literally all stick figures) i should’ve remembered that art quality barely even matters in comics if the writing is good. like, it helps, but it’s definitely not essential, haha. and the latter reason… well, i’ve got a few longer pieces of fanfiction under my belt at this point, so i have a lot more confidence in myself on that front than i used to. i’ve also just gotten better at not beating myself up about not finishing things, i think.

for some portions of this comic, i actually think i’ll do fic interludes, or bits that are mostly fic with a few images for flavor. mostly for segments that have a lot of complex moving parts, like fight scenes or longer conversations or stuff like that, since doing that stuff in a pure comic format can end up taking prohibitively long even if you’re efficient about it. plus, i’ve always wanted to play with a multimedia story, even if i’ve only really gestured at it in my previous stuff… like, different mediums are good at different things, so since i’m fairly good at both art and writing, surely it’d make sense to do something that combines the strengths of both, right?

maybe once i finish this project i’ll finally revive my roleswap au…

I’m splitting this letter into two parts, Drea darling your part is first, and then Dewdrop.

Drea: Hello sweet girl, how are Blue and Whisky doing? Before I left, I bought some more bathing sand for Blue. I was thinking we could get sort of a sand-box situation out back, so that Blue and Whisky could bathe without making as much of a sandy mess in the bathroom haha.

I’ve attached a few pictures of rock types I’ve spotted in Sinnoh that I thought may bring you some joy. Mostly it’s Bonsly and Sudowoodo. If you think you’re ready for a third, Bonsly are very simply pokemon to take care of, and very loving little chaps. I could always adopt one for you while I’m here.

Also, I’m bringing you home just an absolute load of Poffins. I never quite mastered making them myself, but if you like these ones, I will make a new effort in learning how to make them properly. I know you love your pokeblocks, but they aren’t…particularly made for human consumption. However!! Poffins are the Sinnohian equivalent of pokeblocks, and due to the way they are made they are also edible for humans. I begrudgingly ate a pokeblock so that I could compare the texture and flavor to a poffin, and the flavors are quite similar, although the texture of a poffin is much more fluffy than crunchy, although I would suppose it would depend on how long you baked them…

I’ve gotten off track! I hope you’re still having a good time with your schooling, you’re almost done! Just a few more weeks and we can take our break for summer, yeah? I believe in you, and I think that you’re doing great!

Vivianne: Hello love. Once again, so so sorry I left on such short notice, I was really hoping the Walrein thing would resolve itself, but we know life is never that simple. In the middle of wedding preparations as well, ugh.

Returning to our conversation before we left, how many ring bearers and flower children are we realistically allowed to have? Because I agree on Sprite being the ring bearer, I think it would really appreciate that, and Andrea as the flower girl. But also there’s Bird, and possibly Kittsu, and maybe Beedrill, but I feel as if he would not care as much. My vote is on Sprite and Kittsu as ringbearers, and Andrea and Bird as flower girls. But of course, your input is important to me, and I’m sure Vio would love to be part of the ring/flower children as well.

I do think it would be nice to have a more traditional Crowen wedding :) I was never particularly attached to the Hisuian/Sinnohian wedding traditions anyway. I was doing some research and I thought that the Crowen Handfasting wedding tradition was particularly sweet, and I would like to have that as part of the wedding.

They decorated their wheelchair with loads of stickers and have a very pretty Reuniclus that helps push her around when her arms are tired! Like you and the mons!!

I made a few friends along with friends outside the special program! they sit with me during lunch and they are really really nice! One of them has a huuuuge dragonite and the other one has loads of Omastar! They all make sure nobody picks on me :D

I might try the poffins but I still really like the pokeblocks, Nana started making safer ones for me and they are like little hard chalk-y candies instead! so im no longer eating the bad ones even if I reallllly want to eat them!

Hello Starlight, Don't feel so bad for leaving, Emergencies can pop up out of nowhere. All that matters is that everyone is safe :) I have been putting some money on the side still for Sprite and Andrea's futures (i'm writing this while they are out!) I know they wont need the money for a *very* long time but I want to make sure that they can still have money there if they need it.

The babies are quite chunky but uh, they mainly get that from their dad. still cannot believe that someone offered to breed their Crowen Gyarados with Queenie to try and get more genetics into the bloodline! they are finally developing their first bristles and I am so happy.

Also I would love to do the handfasting tradition! My mother still have photos of her grandparents doing the tradition! I still can't believe that you went all the way to get those books for the wedding, Starlight. I truly am a lucky woman.

Hi! It’s been quite some time since my last update here. So much has happened this 2024, and now we’re nearing the end of the year (December is approaching quickly). Here are a few highlights from my 2024, captured in pictures.

Some of the highlights aren’t in these pictures—I think they got lost from my gallery, but that’s okay, hehe. One of the biggest highlights this year was passing the board exam. I had prayed for this for so long, and after so many years of trying, I finally got the license I had been asking God for. Another milestone was acquiring a condo unit. We decided to be practical; my husband wanted to save money. Instead of paying rent that doesn’t benefit us in the long run, why not invest in a condo? At least, by the end of the term, it will be ours!

This year’s MIBF was one of my favorites so far. Why? I focused on buying books from local authors and children’s books. I’m so happy with all my purchases—not only did I save money, but I also stayed within budget! My budget was ₱3,000, and I managed to buy 25 books (if I’m not mistaken). Compare that to spending ₱3,000 at Fully Booked, where I’d only get 2-3 books—not exactly a win-win for me. Plus, at previous MIBFs, I always bought from Fully Booked, so I thought, why not support local authors this time?

This year, I got to try a few new things! I ordered local cookies from BreakBread on TikTok Shop. They’re a bit pricey for me, but I really liked the matcha flavor—it’s definitely something I’ll order again. I also tried Mable Cream Cheese (a Boursin-style cheese) from S&R. I’d been seeing expensive versions on TikTok, so when I found this alternative, we decided to give it a try. I might have overindulged, though, since I asked my husband to grab other snacks for me while he was at it.

This year was also about spending more quality time with my husband. We had spontaneous trips like heading to IKEA just to buy spoons, forks, and picture frames, haha! My husband loves keeping the house clean and buying minimalist home essentials—it’s become our little thing.

I also had more bonding moments with my churchmates and seswas. I spent more time reading the Bible this year and learned so much from the disciples. On days when I feel down or when anxiety creeps in, I turn to the Word. Reading about how the disciples endured hardships to stand up for Jesus inspires and encourages me. It puts my current struggles into perspective.

I’m not invalidating my feelings, but when I reflect on God’s goodness, my fears and worries disappear. My husband often reminds me that there’s so much more to life, and God has blessed us with so many things to enjoy and be thankful for.

This year, I also tried new hobbies, like coloring bold and easy coloring books, haha! I know they’re for kids, but it turns out coloring is so much fun! I also tried Jjajangmyeon for the first time—now I get why it’s Rose’s favorite dish! It’s delicious, but not something I’d eat every day, haha.

We also celebrated Linggo ng Wika at church, which is a yearly activity I always look forward to. It’s so much fun wearing traditional Filipino costumes!

Lastly, we had a cat named Tito. He was adorable, even though he could be grumpy at times. But sadly, he ran away. He escaped one day, and with so many people outside, he never came back. At first, we thought he was just upset with my sibling for scolding him, but when he didn’t return, it was heartbreaking. I had grown so attached to him, so it’s been really sad for me.

And lastly, I thought this year wasn’t for me. But I’ve realized we shouldn’t declare such things over our lives because only God is in control. Look at what happened—I viewed it negatively, but God had a different plan for me. He blessed me with so many things, and I am forever grateful.

There were heartbreaks, anxieties, and struggles, but at the end of the valley, God had prepared a mountaintop for me to enjoy. I’m looking forward to 2025, where I will continue to serve and worship Him alone!

I have to admit i don't go for tacos very often, even though there are a lot of taquerias around me, most of them don't have great vegan options 🤔 when i do get Mexican food i usually go for a burrito with rice and beans! a lot of places offer vegan meats now but i usually skip them. i just love the classic flavor of rice and beans with peppers and onions, and hot salsa. 💚

Cheesecake is the first thing that comes to mind. I eat it very rarely, but it's delicious. The consistency is very rich and satisfying.

My mom used to do homemade cheesecake sometimes, and I have a serious nostalgia for grasshopper (mint/chocolate) in particular.

My husband and I pilgrimmage to the Cheesecake Factory around Valentine's Day most years. (I think my favorite there is the mango lime flavor.)

Oh gods. Tiramisu. I go crazy for tiramisu.

What's your favorite hands-on activity (or what would you like to try)?

A fascinating new one: I just learned how to tack up and ride a horse for the first time! I did it for research/writing, but now I really want to ride a horse again. It was very cool. I got the info I needed for my fic, but I don't think I've yet figured out the vocabulary to really fully describe the experience. Very stimmy, though; soothing and exciting. That good riding posture, man. I get it now. I get why people love horses.

i have a lot to say. but not enough mental space to go through all of it...but i do want to mention how you wrote the retrospective scenes of blade being washed by kafka, it was captured so well. i know this kind of experience is very nuanced, and i think you expressed how blade processed it well. especially how this shows up in pieces thereafter in the rest of the fic, it's different from just mentioning or referring to a past moment. you threaded the experience to the present and from reading your works overall, i believe this is a "trademark" of your writing, at least to me.

the trademark is that there is purpose in every mention, there is delicacy in choosing a perspective and the lens in which the world is viewed or something is experienced by a character...there is a specific atmosphere, headspace, etc., that you want to convey and the entire thing is brought together with every sentence that follows the previous. youre making these connections, however small they may be, between shards of the characters' lives...it feels like you properly chewed them so you got the texture, flavor profile, salinity, etc., of those characters. it's what got me hooked onto you works, and im afraid (feral, positive) youre only getting better at it. im in trouble (eager) :D

this is small, but i personally love seeing purely from one chara's pov, i love unreliable narrator-esque stuff, it just tickles something in me, maybe bc life is THAT subjective to the one living it (also AP Lit was one of my fav classes back in hs, so is it rlly a surprise LMAO). i love connotations, questionable morals, existential dilemmas, all of it. and seeing that blade is full of the latter two, im SO up for it. i also love how he's constantly (unconsciously) trying to be mindful of the space he takes up, even if he chooses to not care for certain (most) ppl. idk, to me thats a testament to his previous life/experience, and it just adds lore (see what i did there :3) and depth to everything. and im so looking forward to see how he navigates and learns (pog self reflection!) about his violent urges/tendencies, and what they mean for him (and mc)--and even if he doesn't i am looking forward to your writing 🙏

writing blade for the architect has been both like.... deeply cathartic and so very different from any character i have written for!!! i don't write a ton in character POV, however blade's feels unique and interesting in a way that keeps me going back to him. the dynamic between blade and reader is so interesting to continue to revisit, and writing their relationship expand and change has been very fun!!

blade is truly monstrous, but not for any of the reasons he thinks. his monstrous is monstrous in the way that he shouldn't exist or be alive, and that he essentially a human weapon, but how he feels isn't monstrous. he's coping. poorly. and through centuries of compounded trauma and an accumulation of mara. he absolutely sees some of himself in reader and can't help but want to ... protect them? if nothing else be near them. it's horrific, the way he thinks, but not monstrous. and i think that's an important distinction in the architect!!!

blade is an incredibly unreliable narrator. it is integral to the story (moreso as we go on) that he is unreliable. his own confusion is woven into the plot and vital to his relationship with the reader. his feelings towards you are a tangled mess, and so much of that comes from his own fractured consciousness.

its been very fun to write and dive into it just like... explore. full send. i started the architect originally as a drabble that was supposed to be uneditted LOL and i didn't want to pull any punches with the implications and like... 'darkness' of the story. i'm glad that you have enjoyed it sleepy and THANK YOU for your comments and elaborations, they truly make my day and get me hype to continue the story too <33 thank you thank you thank you 💞💞💞

Sometimes like calls to like, and your chaotic energy and puns (not to mention the baked goods) brought Nishinoya rolling into your path. Nishinoya finds your bluntness to be hilarious, though he sometimes gets offended when it’s directed towards him. Don’t worry, though, he takes what you say to heart only in the sense that constructive criticism and a new challenge are something he is always up for; and he has no problem issuing such challenges and criticisms to you as well. Though there may be a bit of an argument over who is going to be hitting to who in practice, you both help each other grow in your shared team position. He finally pulls you aside after spending some time together and agrees to teach you his Rolling Thunder move. You’ll share your special moves with him, too, right?

As an adult, Nishinoya spends his time traveling and reveling in new experiences, and he is sure you drag– bring– you along for the ride. Though there are times when travels lead you into hotter climates, he makes sure there are plenty of pools and oceans and lakes and cool places to make up for it. He buys you lots of ice cream. He promises to take you somewhere cooler with lots of snow in between the hotter places. While you are traveling, he points out every stray cat he sees and makes sure that before you leave, you both try some of the local sweets.

Both of you get into plenty of mischief together, but he knows when to be serious and responsible. There may be a problem with who of the two of you will kill the spiders in the relationship. (“Really, we should just burn the hotel down, it’s the only responsible thing to do.”) But that’s okay, at least there will never be a dull moment. It might be hard to convince Nishinoya to slow down long enough for a lazy day, but if you bake some goodies, he’ll play video games with you and watch anime. (“I’m definitely going to beat you this time.”)
