That summer thing where it rains gently but the sun is still shining and the color green gets super saturated.

The kind of still, perfect temperature where you almost can't even feel the air, and it's dark but the sky is clear and you can see the stars.

When it's going to rain, hard, but not yet, and there's the sneaking undercurrent of a breeze, too low to be wind, and it's the kind of uncanny dim where you have no frame of reference for the time of day, and everything in the world seems to be holding its breath.

I like liminal weather.

I have no idea how to answer this one, haha. I'm always dreaming.

Treats that make you happy?

Cheesecake is the first thing that comes to mind. I eat it very rarely, but it's delicious. The consistency is very rich and satisfying.

My mom used to do homemade cheesecake sometimes, and I have a serious nostalgia for grasshopper (mint/chocolate) in particular.

My husband and I pilgrimmage to the Cheesecake Factory around Valentine's Day most years. (I think my favorite there is the mango lime flavor.)

Oh gods. Tiramisu. I go crazy for tiramisu.

What's your favorite hands-on activity (or what would you like to try)?

A fascinating new one: I just learned how to tack up and ride a horse for the first time! I did it for research/writing, but now I really want to ride a horse again. It was very cool. I got the info I needed for my fic, but I don't think I've yet figured out the vocabulary to really fully describe the experience. Very stimmy, though; soothing and exciting. That good riding posture, man. I get it now. I get why people love horses.

From midwest USA - it pretty much works that way here, too. In my assessment, there were a couple other (again, self-reporting) questionnaires to rule out/account for other mental health conditions, but I presented my RAADS-R, AQ, and others as evidence (and didn't have to re-take them). There was also an interview portion, where the psychologist chatted with me and asked me questions about my personal history.

And for kicks, here are the RESULTS of my formal medical diagnosis (which I got two years after self-diagnosing), as an example of what you pay for (my husband's insurance paid for mine, thank fuck), because why not:

Identity and location info have been redacted, but you still get all my weird personal background from what I reported in the informational interview part of my assessment. (I don't care who knows, and I'll gladly answer more questions about stuff.)

The three tests highlighted on page 1 are the ones they administered that day. I provided the rest of everything on that list, but I think they said they would have had me take at least the RAADS if I hadn't done so already.

My diagnosis and their summary/conclusion are on pages 8-10.

Pretty much all reviews of the tests end with "will use in conjunction with other tests/information" which, yeah. One test is probably not going to do it. (But if you're like me, you might have taken at least five and done your homework besides. Self-diagnose responsibly.)

Hey just letting you self diagnosed autistic people know as a medically diagnosed person.

All those approved tests online made by doctors on self evaluating yourself for autism were used in my ACTUAL medical testing as well. They put the RAADS and Cat Q on me, they gave me “strongly agree-strongly disagree” questions. (Most of) Those tests are just as valid and just as accurate as a medical diagnosis that not everyone has the privilege and access to. You are valid don’t let anyone tell you those tests are “online propaganda for attention seekers” (my mother told me this)

Hi, thanks for ask ! 1 / My sister. It's not a what, but knowing she's here is enough to make me happy. ( I'll put close family in the same point, but my sister comes 1st :'D ).

2/ Pets and animals in general. I like animals a lot, learning about them or seeing them makes me happy. My own pets are rays of sunshine every day. They don't know how precious they are.

3/ Gaming as a whole. Roleplaying, board games, video games... I find a lot of joy in them (RPG especially). Currently, I find joy in TTRPGs and GMing. It's fun times. I love collaboring with others when I feel invited and safe to share without being put aside or ignored. TTRPG gives me that. I get to create and tell a story with others or participate and tell a story with other players in another GM's sandbox. It's really nice and fuels me with positive energy.

4/ The disney animated movie Hercules somehow. It's my comfort movie since I'm a kid and it never missed to improve my mood !

5/ Creating art for others somehow. I am usually inspired by other people's stories or characters. Participating in Artfight for example is a pleasure. Collaborative art as well ! I like to do trades, or gifts, or participating in a project with others. Seeing something you created comes to life ( or created by others ! ) is a very special feeling. It sparks joy to me. It can allow for meeting new people, despite language barriers or different cultures. It can help bringing people together and find friends maybe. Or learning about new things. Art is wonderful. have a soft spot for the gloomy art and dark subjects. I should just say art in general. I love seeing art, sharing art, hearing about new form of arts. Discuting about art. Telling people I like their art. Art in general is a field that makes me happy. I feel thankful for artist to exist.

The Day Uniform

This is the uniform that I actually do housework in, and is, by far, the most commonly worn. The long sleeves and skirt means that it’s practical for chores, and the thick, chlorinated latex means it’s durable. Unfortunately, it is now out of production, and I’ve been looking for a replacement. Hopefully, I’ll be able to find one before the last copy of this dress in the closet becomes worn out.

So we're travelling along US Highway 18 in northeastern Iowa (never mind my habit of sometimes pronouncing it "Ioway," trying to effect sophistication out of the vulgate), heading towards Clear Lake and a Character Convocation timed to coincide with one of the Midwest's largest July 4th celebrations therein, thereat even, when we stop at a modest little supermarket of the small-town sort, hoping to put use to some canned Cincinnati 3-Way in the form of Chili Coneys in the old Coney Island manner, Kings Island even, perhaps at some village park ... and if you can believe it, our own Hanna-Barberian tastes for the simple, yet old-school, the real McCoy even, led us to getting some seriously old-school hot dogs.

"You know what I mean, Snag," Huckleberry explained, "coarse ground, and with natural casing besides ... those 'skinless' weiners can only go so far when it comes to taste."

"And homemade, too," I added, "don't you forget the homemade side of it."

Yet even more worthwhile, finding Hawai'ian Sweet Hot Dog Buns for our little road tiffin ... it can sometimes be worth it to be different while not being too extravagant. Especially for variety's sake; besides, one can only go so far with the white bread mindset until you start realising whole grains may be much better all along. And some shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese for the topping ... not to mention some cranberry-orange juice and club soda to blend together ... how interesting could it get, even as Huckleberry H. was working on some notes for the welcoming speech ahead of the Convocation's start just before the July 4th weekend, only to be cut short when his mobile went off and--

What are the divine masculine and divine feminine?

Here are my observations (based on my own deductions and readings, and as far as I try outside ‘mainstream spirituality’):

* the Yang polarity (=DM) is the initiator. It can be discreet or subtle but the Yang is the one who initiates and suggests something — the Yang knocks at the door. The Yang is analogically related to the Sun, the positive charge (masculine). The Yang energy is electric and aerial (imagine vast skies and thunder) Fire + Air. The Yang rythm is rapid and jerky. The Yang polarity is linked to the Ajna chakra.

* the Yin polarity (=DF) is the receptor. As the fonction of the Yin is to receive, there is no visible action in that state, so it can be perceived as indifference or non-involvment — ideally, the Yin, after receiving the signal of the Yang, opens the door. The Yin is analogically related to the Moon, the negative charge (feminine). The Yin energy is magnetic and telluric (imagine abysses and ocean) Water + Earth. The Yin rythm is slow and deep. The Yin polarity is linked to the Sacral chakra.

*These energetical states absolutely don’t mean that the DM/Yang is always initiating and the DF/Yin, always receiving… there is a subtle balance between Yin and Yang to create openess, then oneness. I guess that if we hadn’t been cut off from our animist roots, we would be naturally balanced.

Ajna chakra and Sacral chakra are linked —when DF Sacral chakra (force field of the DF) and DM Ajna chakra (force field of the DM) meet and respond to each other, they create the awakening of the Kundalini.

The Ajna (=head eye) of the DM is in the DF, and the Sacral of the DF (=belly eye) is in the DM. It means that the other (your soul partner) uses your force field indirectly, because you are both intertwined.

The roots of the Yang polarity (DM) are in the sky, the roots of the Yin polarity (DF) are in the earth. The center (=the junction) is where all happens.

There is no ‘ascension in the heights’ as I regularly read on this forum. Most associate the bottom with ‘low vibes’, and the top with “high vibes”. And this also goes with the false idea that the divine feminine is more spiritual than the divine masculine. Since when the earth and the ground are less sacred than the sky and the air ?

So both are spiritually equals —but you can visualize in the hand of the DM, the energy of thunder, and in the hand of the DF, the energy of ocean. The only difference is here. No supremacy. Just two different energies that are magnetically attracted to create ONENESS.

I add that the real ‘ascension’ is a centering. This is the Sacred Heart.

Rosen of Chroneria: Chapter 1

This post is going to go a bit long, contains the baby-step world-building for Chroneria, and the start of Rosen's adventure!

Before I set out to make the full story, I did a little bit of thinking about what SORT of story I wanted, and what the setting and world was. Chroneria is a "realm" style of world, somewhere between the sort of magic laws of a D&D setting and the more ridiculous trappings of something like He-Man, Thundercats, etc, where the scifi elements just co-exist as a back-drop to fantastic things such as sea monsters, planar incidents, stampedes of dinosaur-like beings; "at once teeming with both the old life of magic and great creatures and society and its attempted advancements, where civilizations can build strong enough."

One of these planar realms was the birthplace of Rosen, who was divined to be some kind of infernal creature, hedonistic in nature, and made to be mechanically strong and athletic because I really wanted to live out having a strange sort of barbarian leader who is able to carry on with fantastic combat on the backdrop of the world attempting to civilize itself.

The other influence I pulled on some of his background prompts reminded me a little bit of Krypton, so that's what was happening: Rosen is from a world that grew too strong and destructive, and when some fled through a portal to find a way to escape, he fell from a great distance, into the waters of the North East seas, just a ways off the coast from a port city known as Lamour.

Captain Annurca of The Good Ship Justice has Rosen hauled aboard when they witness the fall, and debate what to do with him. Their first mate, Bonny, is quick to follow the Captain's instinct to make sure who or what-ever Rosen is, he's helped and kept safe, while the younger deckhand, Zief, thinks it'd be better to quickly sell Rosen when they get to port.

The crew of The Good Ship Justice try to reassure Rosen when he awakens, but he is afflicted by the trauma of knowing that everything he has ever known, is gone. He sinks into a numb kind of sadness, but Annurca reassures him that once they take care of their pressing business in Lamour, they'll find a way for him to get established in the city.

Rosen considers leaving, as soon as the ship is silent, but is left overwhelmed with the unfamiliarity of the situation, and falls into a depressed haze and an oppressive, dreamless sleep. He stays this way until the next morning, rudely awoken by a couple of guards who are investigating the ship.

Rosen's appearance is familiar enough to blend in if he was trying, but as it is, he doesn't look QUITE like a regular person from Lamour - I haven't decided if this is because he sports a tail or any other physical features, but the Devil card tends to come up when I try to clarify things about him, so maybe one day he will look more outwardly infernal. For now, it is intended he look different enough that the guards are alarmed and attempt to knock him out for capture.

Rosen quickly turns the surprise awakening into a knock-out fight, tangling the guards in the tarp he was sleeping in and making a dash for the surface into the daylight. The docks are over-run with other guards pouring through the other ships and people, clearly doing a full-scale investigation.

The first guard to corner him is able to come over the initial alarm to have some wit and interrogate him, the basic idea of the exchange going something like this:

Guard: Is this your ship? Can you understand me?

Rosen: No, it's not. That answer your second question?

It may not even be that weird of a question in a world where there is so much left unexplored, but when left to think about it...I realized I didn't know, yet!

So I asked my Tarot Cards.

I started to get an idea from this, someone with a recent past event where they achieved the position they wanted, are in the middle of a rather significant reevaluation of their surroundings and how to fit in a place...I played around in my head about how I wanted to interpret the last two cards into a response, and Rosen's reply was this:

"I am a bringer of death from a world that learned too late that destruction cannot sustain joy."

I thought of it after waffling with a lot of things, but it felt quietly powerful to me in the moment, so I kept it in lieu of overthinking things and moved forward. I thought it would be a fun to work with as a shifting theme; an antihero who came from a world of destroyers who was used to being rewarded for causing carnage, but now wants to apply those skills positively into a world where he could find happiness.

The guards do terrible on any Lore checks to figure out what that means, and Rosen slips into a silent but compliant state, once again, that is reflected in a Major Consequence he's been bearing since the start of the game: "Everything I've Known Is Gone."

One detail he does catch while the guards gather him up, is that Rosen doesn't bear any weapons that match the description they're looking for. The guards make the decision that their best option is to take Rosen in to their overseer for good measure.
