why is no one talking about how good Jacob Anderson’s new orleans accent is. and subsequently how stupid it was they thought they could pass as being from chicago. Be self aware for one SECOND you’re literally named Louis de Pointe du Lac and you talk like you’ve lived in New Orleans for fifty years. You think you can speak cajun french IN PARIS and no one will know. Santiago not mentioning this in the first three seconds he knew you was a sign he has a lot of social grace actually. Parisians known for their complete disdain for anyone speaking non-Parisian French. Dressmaker making fun of Claudia’s French the most accurate portrayal of Parisians
The period appropriate slang also extending to provincial American accents before standardization through television. There’s also something to be said about Jacob Anderson’s acting with the willfully neutral accent during Dubai. Like hmmmm is this the one thing you gained insight about? Only this?

Prime Minister lugs the desiccated corpse of his mutilated grandpa everywhere with him as inspiration for his evil plots.
And I do mean everywhere.
That must be a lil tough to explain to the movers, no?

“I’m reminded that to test if a genetic splicing effort worked and n a specimen it’s common to include a ‘glow in the dark’ gene. Wonder if Iyana can do that.” She’s thinking now about how different sex in the dark would be.

“caretaker only using nicknames/pet names to try and soothe whumpee” is great. but i think “caretaker who always uses nicknames/pet names only using whumpee’s real name to try and soothe them” hits just as hard if not harder

reading your own fanfic is like watching your own stories on social media or stepping outside of your room to look in after you’ve cleaned it just to see how others will perceive it

I’m positive that all college students have pirated textbooks for class at least once, but there’s something funny about a teacher telling you to go ahead and do it.
“Yes this book is required for class, but you can find it for free online. Go and download it from the internet. You don’t need to buy it.”

So I’ve just started listening to the Magnus Archives, and I feel like I have to compliment Jonathan Simms, the head archivist guy, like he doesn’t even sound like he believes in the supernatural, however he’s putting his entire heart and soul into making these recordings sound like the person who wrote them is actually speaking, like that’s dedication to your job right there like go him
