"Jungkookie.", Hoseok called the golden maknae, patting his shoulder.

"Hm?", Jungkook grumbled, without opening his eyes. He got used to acting like that by now: distant, unfocused, sleep deprived. He couldn't sleep well ever since you broke up with him.

After his mom's visit, she manage to convince him to stay at Jin's place at least for a few days, but Jungkook only did that so his mother wouldnt worry so much about him. If that was even possible.

But despite sleeping in Jin's guest room, that looked like a king's bedroom, Jungkook couldn't have a good night of sleep at all. He had nightmares every night. Most of the nights, he woke up screaming your name, but not in despair. In anger. Like he was fighting with you so you wouldn't leave. But you always did. For the first nights, Jin used to get up and check up on him, but when it kept happening, he knew there was nothing he could do. He never saw Jungkook like that.

When he wasn't rehearsing, Jungkook dozed off. In every break he had, every tiny break between practices, meetings, schedules. Even ARMY started to tweet about Jungkook being more tired and distracted, blaming on Hybe for overworking him. But Hybe got nothing to do with that.

"Jungkookie". Hoseok tried again, sitting beside Jungkook, who was laid down on the practice room.

"Yeah, hyung."

"We talked to Bang PD...", Hoseok spoke with caution, choosing his words. "And we all think you need to rest better, man. You can go home or to one of the bedrooms here at Hybe's and have a good sleep. You really need it."

Jungkook didn't move or say anything in return.

"C'mon, JK. Stop that." ,the dance leader shook him lightly.

"STOP WHAT, HYUNG?!", Jungkook yelled so loud, it made Hoseok tremble. He sat down angrily, putting his shoes back with harsh moves. "We're not rehearsing, we're not singing or dancing right now, so why you keep bugging me? Huh?", he got up, staring his hyung who was surprised to say the least. "I know what I gotta do, hyung! Don't worry about me! Whatever shit I'm going through is my business and I won't let it get in the way of my performance as an idol, ok? Are you good with that?"

Hoseok got up too, and anyone watching the scene would think they were about to throw hands at each other.

"No, Jungkook. I'm not good with that. None of us are, because you're not okay, and we worry about you.", Hoseok looked at the members for confirmation and Jungkook saw them nodding. "And I say more: you say being the way you are isn't getting in the way of your work, but it is. Look at you man!", Hoseok pointed at the big mirror on the wall. Jungkook hasn't looked at himself for weeks. His hair was longer than he remembered, he lost weight and his eyes had huge bags under them and they were... purple? He could swear the bags under his eyes were purple. "You're exhausted, man! Overworked!"

Jungkook was too stunned with his image to respond.

"And when was the last time you ate something that wasn't skittles?" Jungkook turned to look at Hoseok who was holding his bag, open, full of empty packages of Skittles. "These things could give you diabetes, man!"

Jungkook had no words. When he became like that? Being without you really made him this miserable? He couldn't remember the last time he slept 8 hours. Or 5. Or 4.

He couldn't remember the last time he had a good meal. Even with the members, he always chose to drink and not eat anything. He didnt to boxing anymore or even gaming. What he did with his free time? He couldnt remeber.

“I can't imagine what it is like for you, Jungkookie.", Hoseok tried again. "And I know you don’t feel alright, but I need you to try and eat something, and to take better care of your health.”

"I'm fine, hyung", Jungkook lied, still examining his face on the mirror. Jin aproached him, squeezing his hand hard, making Jungkook yelp.

“YAH! You’re shaking, Jungkook!", Jin scolded him, making him look his hands. "This is really affecting you, man! At least take a nap. You need to stop.”

Jungkook pulled his hand away and grabbed his bag from Hoseok's hand with force. He was ready to leave, but Namjoon got right between him and the door.

"Go rest, Jungkook. This isn’t up for debate.", Namjoon stated finnaly. "Practice for you is over until further notice, your health is more important."

Jungkook didn't respond, deviating from the leader. He was ready to leave angrily, but suddenly his legs fail with him, making him get on his knees with full force. The members ran fast to him, but he just shugred, rejecting their help.

"Don’t touch me, I don’t need help." he grumbled, picking his bag from the ground. "I’m not a kid, guys. I don’t need you hovering over me",

"Kook.", Taehyung called him, when he was ready to leave. Hearing that nickname after weeks made him stop in his tracks. "You can talk to us. You know that."

And just like that, Jungkook eyes filled with tears. How he could explain? He couldn't understand himself.

"I- I can’t sleep... ", he confessed." I don’t like when it’s still and quiet, and I’m alone with my thoughts.", he looked at Namjoon, and he could swear his eyes were filled with tears aswell. "My body hurts all over, but I don't wanna stop. I can't. I can't sleep.", his voice falters, and he dries the tears that fall from his eyes. "Work is the only thing I have to keep my mind sane, hyungs. So please... don't take that from me too.", he pleaded, looking at Namjoon. "I can't lose anything right now."

Namjoon nooded.

"I'll go to my old place right now. See if I can sleep for a bit, okay? And I'll eat something not-skittled", he joked, making Hoseok give him a small smile. "Thank you for looking out for me. And forgive me for acting this way. I had so much to figure out, and now I feel like I have nothing, you know?", and then he looked at Taehyung. "I notice what you did there, Tae. Calling me that way", he furrowed his brows, trying not to cry, remembering your voice calling him by his favorite nickcname. "Please.", he breathed deeply. "Don't call me that again."

Taehyung nodded, ashamed of using that to call his attention. He knew how much loved when you call him that. It was the only way to make him stop.

Lupin III Chapter 40 Review

this chapter starts out with a sussy looking man trying to escape out of prison!!! who the fuck is he????

from the left bottom panel over there we can see that he's been caught by the police, who then escorts him in a car with two other people who seem to know him

look at their faces thats very sus

then we switch to kid lupin in his mansion listening into the convo happening in the police's car it seems to be connected to the police's walkie talkie but suddenly! he is in shock and bolts out the house what did he hear in the walkie talkie?? and where is he going???

well well well the walkie talkie speaks of the various prison escapees... and one of them, the man whom we saw escaping earlier WAS NONE OTHER THAN LUPIN II, HIS FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate him so much anyways ahem ahem Lupin iii on the other hand runs out to a cemetery, which houses the gravestone of his father?? he is equally just as shocked to hear this chapter plot twist, his father whom he thought was dead was alive all along!?

apparently it was arsene lupin that told him that his father was dead, we never get told why he did it, but i wonder maybe because a lupin who fails at his job is no longer a lupin in his eyes, so since lupin ii was captured and thrown in jail, he is nothing but dead to him it can also possibly explain why lupin iii got put in so much rigorous training at such a young age and become conditioned to pass on arsene's legacy because his son couldnt but enough with overanalyzing the plot, let's move on

ANOTHER lady (i dont think its been the same one since this entire kid lupin series???) appears and says that she's known the truth for years now and i guess they just go back to the mansion ah yes ive learned that my father is actually alive lets not do anything about it nah jk hes probably trying to process everything poor kid

going back to lupin ii's side, the police turns out to be one of his allies and gets them out of prison along with handing them guns n shit then one of his friends just shoots the police??? and lupin ii is reasonably pissed like wtf you killed the dude that worked with us then the guy reasons that the guy is still a cop and they still shouldnt trust ok whatever fine lets go with that then

i cant bro is so angry apparently in this panel he says "HE WAS MY BEST CONTACT!" and im just wondering what he meant by that maybe its just tokyopop translation spouting bs again but it may just be something from the og manga im thinking maybe he was trying to monitor lupin iii? currently the plot isn't at the point where i can explain my idea though

lupin ii holds the woman earlier hostage and is about to rape her, then lupin iii says that they're surrounded by the police and hes about to get arrested anyway (this is so stupid) then lupin iii leaves thinking hell get arrested, and it turns out that the woman and lupin ii were just faking it and this was just a test for lupin iii

Panel 1: "You can put your clothes on." "Oh, are we done now?" Panel 2: "He's not ready to take over the family business." "Well, at least tell him the truth, you owe him that much." Panel 3: "Not yet." "Not until he proves his worth."

the lupin family is just like a traditional asian family you better start burning at least 90 houses until you're allowed to eat dinner again then lupin ii retreats and dresses up as a police officer, he tricks the detective guy (from the earlier chapter) into thinking that he has escaped into the mountains

then he hops on a motorcycle to escape, and oh? it seems like lupin iii already found out his plan and was camping in the sidecar to wait for him but unfortunately… his father rams him onto a tree.

great job lupin ii great treatment of your son you havent seen in years :thumbsup: but this is the end of the kid lupin chapters! we will be resuming back to the monkey man tomorrow. (nevermind i have something else planned for tomorrow no chapter 41 til thursday) lupin ii will never been seen in the lupin manga for a long long time…

also i like how this chapter singlehandedly explains why motorcycles with sidecars are no longer a thing anymore today.

“TBH, a lot of the creative decisions that are made in Lfmb, often feel like Lety The Character, is the one being sacrificed. When it's supposed to be her story” you nailed it. Nothing left to add. For the story to be longer and make Lety have a relationship with Aldo, her presidency (and also Tomas’ vice presidency for that matter) were made out to be a huge failure. Lety discovers she’s beautiful, but it comes at the expense of creating the alter ego of a diva that ends up working for a campaign that Conceptos is leading and the whole scene where she is exposed is so embarrassing 😭 Marcia is chosen as the new president of Conceptos which means that by the end of the series, Lety is jobless and was never able to fully show she was capable of being a successful president. I understand the novela was so successful that they wanted to have more episodes, I also get that the audience wanted to see more Aldo (jk, I will never get this 🥲) and see Lety with someone else, but why did everything have to come at the expense of having Lety’s character development stalled? They could’ve for sure found better ways to make the story longer and introduce Lety and Aldo’s relationship that didn’t make her look this bad. This is the one thing that doesn’t let me enjoy lfmb as a whole.

You're listing off all these terrible things and yet I think the worst thing they ever did was humiliate Lety in her dinner with Ariel, when she gets back fm Acapulco and they make her president.

She doesn't get to have her moment of 'I'm not gonna give you money, u loser'. Instead Ariel acts like a pig, humiliates her, she runs off and then Fernando accuses her of seeing Aldo AND Ariel even tho none of that is happening. They don't ever let Lety win. Or grow up.

Not once.

I think part of the problem, not everything, but part of the problem lies in how Fernando was developed. They made him an idiot, so she had to be one too.

The rest of it is the fault of delaying....everything about her arc to the point where they couldnt go back and fix it. It was too late. Aldo arriving and putting them in a relationship to the point where she almost marries him....It was too far.

Another crime they committed was giving Carolina's role to Aldo, another form of sexism but I don't wanna get into it.

“Wait, seriously? You want to work here? But--but I thought you were from out of town?”

Jun’s eyes light up with excitement; fingertips crushing the resume you passed to him moments prior. “Um, well, there was a change of plans… and I’d really like to work somewhere where I have a friend! If you guys are still hiring, that is...” You reply back meekly.

It’d taken you all morning to write up a resume, blushing a little when you realize most of your income had been from camming. It’d also made you pause for a moment when you realized that it meant Jun would also know your real name too; as well as everyone who came through the diner and all of your coworkers.

“Yeah, of course! I, um, just give me a second to pass this to my manager, okay? I’ll be sure to put in a good word!” Jun shoots you a wink before he turns to leave.

You take the opportunity to sit down at a nearby booth, fishing for your phone to text Seungcheol.

‘I think I might be getting the job!!’

cheollie ✨: oh? Not that I doubted you, but is it confirmed already?

‘Mm… Jun is trying to put in a word for me! But I’m confident!’

You hear someone call your name hesitantly, only to find Jun standing a few feet away looking at you sheepishly. “Um, sorry, your name’s on the resume so I figured…”

“Oh! Yeah, it’s fine!” You awkwardly giggle. “I figured writing ‘Cherry’ as my name wouldn’t be too smart when you need to cross-reference my ID if I get the job.” Jun laughs as he takes the seat across from you in the booth, papers in hand.

“Well, I convinced my manager to let me interview you. Told him that if we’d be workin’ together that I’d want to scope you out for myself! He bought it, can you believe it!?” Grinning, he sets your crumpled resume down next to a small stack of papers. “I don’t doubt you’d pull your weight around here but I do have to ask… Why here of all places? I thought your, uh, other job was enough? Or I guess I assumed...” You bite your lip, flip-flopping on whether or not you wanted to let him know exactly what happened that led to your sudden decision.

“Um… There were just some big life changes I had to make on the fly and I’ll be living around here now! I’m trying out some new things… I also figured if I worked with you, then you’d know my schedule the best too! And you seem like a really nice and cool guy.”

Jun nods, smiling back at you.

“You got that right!”

“You’re seriously going to start working there?” Jeongguk raises a brow, cables in hand as he sets up the extra PC in his streaming room. “And the guy working there knows you? That doesn’t bother you?”

Seungcheol laughs under his breath, “Yeah and he knows me now too. And knows I’d kick his ass if he tried anything.” You pout from your place in the expensive gaming chair; eyes focused on Jeongguk who shimmies under the desk to start plugging in the cables.

“Well, yeah he does know me, but he’s also one of my regulars and knows the schedules I’ll need, so I think we can trust him!” They both nod and Seungcheol is quick to cross the small room until he’s right behind you.

“He seems like a nice guy though, I don’t think we have to worry.”

Jeongguk slides out from underneath the desk, dusting off his pants as he stands. “And if he does end up being a weirdo, there’s always a place for you at the roller rink!”

Seungcheol rolls his eyes, hands gripping onto the backrest of the chair.

“No.”

“Hey guys, welcome back to Golden Closet Gaming! I’m JK, your regular host! Today, we have a suuuper special guest! Why don’t you introduce yourself, pretty lady~”

You take a deep breath as you lean in close to the mic; somewhat nervous and a little out of your usual element. “Hi everyone~ I’m Cherry! Some of you may know me from, um, the other side of the streaming-sphere but I’m joining my friend today in hopes of boosting our channels together and having a ‘lil bit of fun!!”

Seungcheol sits at the side as he watches the two of you; a small smile painted on his lips at the way the two of you seem to fall into your characters easily despite the somewhat different platforms and influx of different viewers.

The sound of donations and comments pour in a lot quicker than Jeongguk, himself, is used to; eyes wide and eyebrows raised as he pauses to watch them flood the screen.

Jeongguk laughs, still in disbelief as the donations continue to pour in from a combination of your viewers and his. He always made a decent amount from his viewers but he couldn’t deny the pull you had from your viewers as well. “Wow, um okay, my donations are adding up a lot quicker than they usually do. That’s… Hey, whaddya say to streaming with me regularly?” He jokes. 

A shy laugh bubbles up your throat; ears and cheeks burning hot at the idea. You had never collabed with any other streamer before and despite your initial hesitance and unsureness, you too, were shocked to find how well the two of you were doing without your usual content.

“Erm, I’m not very good at gaming though… I don’t think your viewers would like it very much...”

“On second thought, let’s let this be a special occasion, huh? Maybe collabs for the holiday, Cherry?” Jeongguk grumbles and Seungcheol has to bite his lip to keep in his laughs from his side of the small room. You start to feel more and more comfortable at the lighthearted atmosphere; tucking a stray hair behind your ear before you lean in towards the mic again.

“Ah! Speaking of, don’t forget to tune into my camshow tomorrow~! JK and I will be gaming on there as well but… with some added fun to match my channel~! 21 and over only~” You blink at the computer screen, still a little unused to the idea that you weren’t technically being filmed. Although, it was a nice change for once; not needing to be all done up for a show and simply just talking to your viewers and reading comments.

sleepy_wonu: is dom daddy gonna be on the show too?

“Dom daddy? Oh you mean Se---”

“Yes! Kind of!” You cut off, laughing nervously. Nobody knew Seungcheol’s name except for Jun and you were trying to keep as much of him private as possible, until he was ready. “In a sense, he’ll be there! You guys will just have to tune in to find out!”

Jeongguk laughs into his own mic, scooting in closer to his desk as he loads up the game.

“I think that’s enough chatting for now, huh? Let’s get started! Tonight we’ll be playing Phasmophobia! We’ll be playing something more lighthearted on Cherry’s channel, as she requested. So tonight we’ll be playing something I picked out. You ready, baby?”

Seungcheol narrows his eyes, quietly taking a sip of his water.

“Ready when you are!”

“I gotta say, sweetheart, for someone who doesn’t play video games too often, you’re not too bad.” Seungcheol comments, nodding his head in amazement as the three of you exit Jeongguk’s PC room. He’d had a hard time keeping in his laughs as he watched from the side and he had to admit, you were even cuter when you were outside of your usual element.

“I have to agree with hyung, but maybe it was also the adrenaline and screaming that kept you goin’.”

The two males share a laugh as you pout and plop down onto Jeongguk’s living room sofa. “Hey, how were the numbers for tonight, by the way?” You ask quietly.

“Honestly? I think we made almost triple of what my channel usually sees. I know I don’t really make a ton off of my streams since I don’t really do anything, like, crazy but shit… Even I’m shocked at how much we made.”

Seungcheol’s lip ease into a smirk; Jeongguk really had no idea how much the two of you had made off of a couple videos alone.

“We still have one more stream to do and then we can just pool up the money and split it down the middle!”  

Jeongguk nods, stretching as he sits himself down onto the other end of the sofa. “I’ll bring my spare PC stuff so we can set up a little early tomorrow, if that’s cool with you two? Maybe have some food before we get started too ‘cause god knows I’m gonna be starving.” You look to Seungcheol who nods and checks his phone for the time.

“Yeah, we need to set up the cameras and lighting a little differently too so we’ll probably start earlier. Just text me before you drive over so we know when to expect you.”

You yawn next to Jeongguk; adrenaline having worn off as the tiredness finally sets in. “It’s so weird, usually I’m only just starting my stream right around this time but I’m so exhausted now...” Seungcheol’s eyes from cute crescents as he smiles down at you, stepping closer as he goes in to smooth down your hair.

“You really were screaming a lot, to be fair. How about we head home and you can sleep in the car?”

“Okay~”

Seungcheol lets you sleep in on Saturday morning, watching as your chest rises and falls with soft breaths.

He takes a moment to think over the last few weeks of his life and he can’t help the disbelieving expression that crosses his features when he realizes just how much had changed over the course of just weeks.

When the two of you had met, he wasn’t expecting much. He expected the two of you to hang out for a few days before you went home and forgot he even existed outside of your camshows and the comments section. But now that so much had happened between the two of you, Seungcheol felt a deeper connection to you and felt the need to protect you even moreso than ever.

He sees you shift slightly, sleepy eyes blinking open as you peer up at him. “Good morning, sweetheart.”

“Mm… g’morning ‘cheol…”

You grimace sleepily at how hoarse your voice sounds, “Ew, I sound so… gross.”

Seungcheol moves to get out of bed, leaning in to kiss your forehead before he shuffles towards the bathroom. “I’m going to wash up but you can stay in bed if you like. I’ll make you some tea for your throat, okay? We have a long day ahead of us and I don’t think you wanna sound like that later tonight.”

Nodding sleepily, you lay back down as you yawn and let the sleep take over once again.

“Are you really sure ‘bout this?” Jeongguk takes a bite of his pizza as he watches Seungcheol pull the desk closer to the bed.

“What do you mean?” You ask; readjusting the light that was closest to the younger male. “Like, I dunno, I’ve never been on a cam show like this so… I mean do I have to do anything different?” You laugh lightly as you go in to pat Jeongguk on the shoulder.

“No, just be you. And we went over it already earlier, the only thing that’s different is going to be me! No weird tricks or anything, I promise.”

Seungcheol places another monitor on the tabletop, grunting as he goes. “Yeah, and in all honesty, I would hate to have to watch you get off, ‘Guk.”

“Oh shut up, hyung. You say that like I don’t know what you’re packin’ under those sweats. I think it’d only be fair! Just two bros getting to know each other.” Seungcheol pretends to gag just as you double over in laughter. “No, absolutely not, ‘Guk. And also, nobody told you to watch those videos!”

Jeongguk pauses, lips pressing into a firm line. “You right, you right…”

You leave to get changed just as Jeongguk starts to help Seungcheol set up the last few bits of equipment. He leans in close to the older male, eyes glancing around the space to make sure you were completely out of earshot. “Hey, hyung, honest question.”

“Sure.”

“Are you really okay with all this?” Confusion crosses Seungcheol’s features as he raises an eyebrow at the younger male. “What’s ‘this’ exactly, ‘Guk?”

“Y’know, her living here and you camming all of a sudden, among everything else really… And the question if you’re in love with her which, by the way, we still all know that you are.”

A blush coats Seungcheol’s skin, fingertips almost losing grip of the camera he was about to mount to the desktop. “Listen, yes, okay, I do… like her a lot. But she’s going through a lot right now too and I don’t want to freak her out either. There’s a lot of life changes we’re going through so I’m just going to ...wait.”

“You’re a good man, hyung.”

“Hi everyone!”

You wave to the camera, winking and blowing a kiss to the camera propped up between the two monitors on the table. “I know, this setup is a little wild and not my normal but this is part two of my collaboration with Golden Closet Gaming! Do you want to introduce yourself to those who missed our other stream?” You turn to Jeongguk who nods; this time a little nervous as he stares directly into the camera.

He’d said he was okay with being filmed since he wasn’t actually part of any sexual acts, but he still found himself a little camerashy now that the two of you were live.

Seungcheol sat directly behind the monitors and cameras; his phone open to your cam show to watch from a different angle.

“Ah, hello! I’m JK of Golden Closet Gaming! I’m a friend of Cherry’s and no we won’t be fuckin’.” Jeongguk ends with an innocent smile that has you holding back your laughter.

you always tried to work the late shifts, closing up and doing the returns

he started coming to the library to borrow books

but he ended up liking the environment for studying

and would stay there for hours just to study

but he keeps borrowing books

until he borrows this new book you’ve been wanting to read for ages

and you were low-key so bitter

this lil bitch has no way of knowing you wanted that book but somehow he does and that’s the only reason he’s borrowed it

even though,, he literally had no idea lmao

tbh u probably would have wanted to talk to him about the books he reads bc u have very similar taste

okay the same taste

but he’s such an asshole ur like nah fam

anyways he returns it after a week

boy reads fast ok

and when he goes to drop it in the returns box

you just take it from his hand and scan it under your name straight away

and put it under the desk so no one else can borrow it

and when there’s a lull in the work at the library

you reach under the table for the book and rifle through it

and you notice a few pencil marks

and upon further inspection you realise they’re comments referencing certain parts of the book

and you do nOT stand for vandalism

but some of them are fuckin hilarious not gonna lie

on the page you just happened to open

you can see there’s a comment beside a passage of text depicting a fight scene

‘this would kill someone wtf’

and u laugh and wonder who had done this

like the book had only been out for a little while

and u finish it in just less than a week

bc u read a lot during your shifts

probably a lot more than you should tbh

and seriously the comments made the book better

you hadn’t laughed so hard at random commentary so much

like the words were exactly what you were thinking

you couldnt help it

while ur putting some of the books back in the middle of your shift

!!!! you see another book that u might like !!! 

not to judge a book by its cover butttttttt

it looks like ur type oop-

and after flipping through it

to get an idea of font size and chapter length cause ur a whole nerd like that

u see it ALSO has pencil markings

in the borders and underlining sentences

and without even thinking u borrow it

just to read the funny comments again

and ur boss comes up to you during your shift and is like

‘have you seen someone’s been writing in the books? look at this’

and thrusts a book in ur face

and ur like ??????? okay chill I’ll look

and u read the writing she’s pointing at

the familiar loopy handwriting adorning the page

and it says ‘I hope she throws her drink in his face’

when u read the paragraph for context

u realise it’s a confession scene

a few lines down the mystery person has written ‘called it.’

and u can’t help but laugh

like come on that was funny

but ur boss doesn’t agree

she just asks you to find out who’s doing it so they can be suspended from the library

or charged with vandalism

or something

she wants vengeance

u roll ur eyes and go to one of the staff computers

scrolling through the lists of borrowers for that specific book

and it’s a fuckin library that book has been borrowed a loT

sit in the children’s section

laugh and chat about your lives while you went through the books

and when you'd finished,

he'd walk you home

every single time

without fail

it became a habit that on the Tuesdays he'd stop by on his way to his morning class to drop coffee off for you

because he'd kept you up the night before

and it became easy to lose track of time with sicheng

he was just so engaging

there was no part of you that felt bored or uncomfortable with him

yeah he was annoying and infuriating

but his good book taste made up for it

hello! thank you for the question, this is a subject i think A LOT about, especially lately with so many celebrities being exposed on their bullshit and stupidity. 

i do believe this is a very personal matter. each person will deal with this sort of situation as they feel they can. there are people who can’t stand a celebrity anymore so they won’t consume/stop consuming any of their work/art. there are people who can’t stand the person but will consume their work/art but with different eyes and opinions, some will stop enjoying, but some won’t. i go through all of these with different people... it really depends on the case. there are some actors who i found out are disgusting but were part of my favorite movies so i stopped watching, because i couldnt see their faces or hear their voices. but some i kept watching and pretended they werent there. i did as it felt better to me, and it always worked.

one of the most important things to me about this subject is: when an author publishes their work into the world, it does not belong to them anymore, it belongs to the people. to the fans. it’s ours, not theirs. a lot of authors try to induce how we consume their work, “the right or wrong way to consume it”, but honestly, each of us will choose how it makes us feel. how it matters to us. how the journey will follow. and this is where this jk rowling story fits the same.

its been years since i stopped supporting here (since she started apologizing for the characters she killed - which was an opportunity to keep the franchise alive) and the scandal just kept going. if you dont want to support her anymore, dont. but harry potter franchise is a different matter for so many people. like you said! harry potter were strength and comfort. and still is! we make the meaning for ourselves, we create and develop the love we want to feel about stuff. and some of us will despise jk rowling but will love harry potter eternally. i’m one of these people. even before all that, jk was already very disrespectful to so many things inside the harry potter franchise and we, the fans, made it different. take the malfoys for an example, take the house slytherin for an example! i’m slytherin, and if you ask another slytherins around (especially on tumblr) about the house, they will tell you very similar things and neither are things jk wrote. it will only be things we, the fans, created for ourselves. we made this house mean everything to us because she didnt do that. same with the malfoys. and well, even if we were the ones who changed the perception and the opinion, we never stop consuming, right? i mean, i never did! but everything i did consume (hp books or movies), i did it through my perspective. and that made me love even more, because i know this franchise is a part of myself, a part of my life i don’t want to let go.

i do believe as well that so many fans go through that. and honestly? if you want to let it go because they way you feel about jk is horrible, its okay! if you dont want to let it go because the franchise is too important for your feelings, its okay! each person must choose for themselves how to deal with that situation, what is healthier for them. i think each of the answers are valid and alright. you must choose for you. i still love harry potter, i always will, no matter what a disgusting human jk shows herself to be. she’s not the harry potter franchise anymore. this franchise belongs to us, to the fans, it’s part of the world and she will not take that away from us.

Okay so as for family lineage and stuff

Shiro, Lance, and Hunk are muggleborns

They just are

Shiro’s parents knew about Magic because of keef and were surprised when they found out Shiro was a wizard

Lance is the only wizard in his family and he gets homesick a lot because he’s the only one who goes to Hogwarts and he misses his siblings and stuff

But he always brings niece and nephew home stuff from Hogsmade that he thinks they’ll like 

Hunk, Lance, and Shiro meet because Hogwarts started a club during the summer for Muggleborns where they can meet and talk about concerns with Hogwarts and magic and stuff with other muggleborns that are older

So Lance and Hunk soon become really close friends and Shiro is kinda their advisor and stuff

Keith is a Halfblood, which makes sense because i mean he’s half galra on the show so

His mom was a witch, and idk if im going to have her run away for something or die?? I mean I kinda want her to run away cuz of something so they can be reunited but i have no idea what it would be unless this was during the time of harry potter and it had something to do with Voldemort but i kinda want to stay away from all that so ye

Pidge and Matt are purebloods

But they’re not the stuck up purebloods

They’re literally the Weasleys 

Sam has a fascination with muggle technology that Pidge and Matt share

So like, they have a lot of fancy tech

Pidge and Matt snuck a DS on campus and play Zelda at meals

Allura is probably a Pureblood but shes way less snooty, maybe even compared to her parents

As for teachers

Coran is Herbology teacher or something???

Alfor is Defense against the Dark Arts maybe??? I don’t know either him or Zarkon 

Haggar is obviously the potions teacher

Everyone hates Lotor cuz his parents are teachers and he’s a teachers pet

But back to Haggar in potions

So she’s like the slytherin head thing or whatever they were

so yknow she’s biased

So Keef and Lonce are there, both tired from studying or something so already they’re cranky and half asleep

So they’re making the potion right?

And lance just coughs, a look of disgust on his face

“What?” Keef says. Lance plugs his nose.

“U stink, Keith.” And throughout potions class Lance keeps complaining that Keith smells really bad or something or he used too much cologne idk

Ofc like Pidge is in that class and shes snickering

Lance turns to her like “WHAT IS IT PIDGE” 

She asks him if he knows what the potion is supposed to do

He’s just like “It makes people fall in love with u.”

“Yes but what else?” Both keith and Lance stare at her blankly. She explains that when u smell it you smell what u love most

Both keef and lances eyes widen

For the first time in forever they’re quite the entire period

Keith has a gay panic

Lance has a bi panic

they are disasters

Shiro confronts pidge after that day

“Pidge what did u do to keef and lonce they’re broken”

Pidge is all like, “Excuse me????”

“They’re being nice to each other.” 

Hunk, who is also there, just snorts

“Pls explain this to me,” Shiro says, exasperated

Pidge explains the Amortentia scene

Shiro just laughs because of course they were in love with each other

(okay now i have theories that the reason why they made Adam shiro’s boyfriend is because its meant to mirror OTHER ships in voltron *cough* KLANCE and its foreshadowing or something i mean adam does look like lance and shiro and keith are sorta similar)

Hunk admits that Lance has had a crush on keeth for like ever but he keeps saying its just a rivalry thing

Actual conversation between the two:

“And what’s up with his hair?? It’s like straight out of the 80′s and he has all the bangs over his eyes like an EMO like why is he trying to hide his eyes?” Lance blushes because he’s thinking about how beautiful Keefs eyes are. “Like why? Why is his hair like that i dont understand?? And what does he do to it why is it so soft???”

“You’ve touched his hair?”

“Yeah I was trying to see if I’m taller than him yet” Hunk was just confused but then Lance kept talking about keiths hair and he let it slip when it was like, almost 3am that keiths hair made him look pretty and lance would never be able to make that look good on himself, then immediately said something about the one time keef blew something up in first year because hes an idiot as a coverup

So hunk has known for some time

Even when lance didn’t know

So for the next couple weeks keith and lance act kinda weird around each other

because they don’t know how to handle feelings

they mostly avoid each other, standing on opposite ends of the room and glaring at each other

but of course that doesnt help them at all because for some reason they share a room

(oh my god they were roommates)

The rest of the boys in the room are angry because of all the sexual tension its giving them anxiety and they started sleeping in the commons

I actually have no idea who the other three boys would be because one of them couldnt be shiro because hes older and everyone else is in different houses so

At one point keith just blurts “Whats wrong with you?”

Lance gets all defensive because he takes it in a different way than Keith meant and thought Keith was saying he was flawed or something and he was broken and...

Lance just starts to get upset and is yelling saying nothing is wrong with him and he almost starts to cry because he’s just so confused and doesn’t know whats going on and he feels like hes not good enough for Gryffindor and

He has a lot of emotions

And he says all this, starting to ramble through tears, pouring all of his emotions out

Keef is shook

he doesn’t know what to do Lance never acted like this in front of him before and he’s never seen lance like this, so self conscious and doubting himself 

Keith doesn’t know how lance could even think these things because in his eyes-- lance is perfect

Lance has always been so much better at magic than he was

and He’s so confident and such a good Keeper 

He gingerly touches Lance’s shoulder. 

“Lance I--” Keith doesn’t know what words to say, but apparently he doesn’t need to say any

Lance wraps his arms around him, burying his face in his shoulder, sniffling

Keith is surprised at first because u know keef

He doesn’t know how to react when someone hugs him

He gently hugs lance back, resting his head on Lances and running his fingers through his hair

Lance calms down, his breathing slowing and seeming more relaxed

when he does, keith tries his best to tell him how great he thinks lance is and how hes jealous and all that

Lance pulls away, rubbing his eyes. 

“You mean it?” Keith nods solemnly, not looking at Lance. Lance touches his cheek, causing him to look back up, his brows knit together in confusion

Lance doesn’t know why, but he kisses him

and just??? the moment feels perfect to both of them? This was someone they always thought of as a rival, were always jealous of, and were always thinking about. They never truely understood their feelings for each other, until now

Shiro doesn’t comment when they walk into the dinning hall the next morning holding hands

But Pidge sure does

Shay and Romelle have been friends since they were first years and Shay yelled at Lotor for making fun of Romelle

they’ve been besties ever since

Hunk meets Shay and Romelle in Herbology because in like maybe 5th year or something Hufflepuff house was taught Herbology with the Slytherins. Every year before that it was either with Ravenclaw or Gryffindor so he would pair with Lance, Keith, Allura, or Shiro

Pidge was a year or two bellow him so they didn’t have classes together in case u were wondering

For the specific thing they needed a group of three and even though Hunk is a pretty nice guy and can make friends with everyone, everyone sorta had their trio

Because ofc he can find a PARTNER that was left out of their group of three, but suddenly they’re paired off in threes and there’s no sad loner who has no friends. 

Shay and Romelle have an opening in their group

Hunk goes to work with them

They’re honestly the cinnamon roll squad and when Hunk introduces them to his friends Lance and Pidge immediately nickname them that 

Hunk quickly falls in love with Shay

Like deeply in love

He’s always complimenting her and laughing at what she says

Romelle keeps trying to tell Shay that he likes her but Shay just goes “he’s just a nice person, Elle”

The Yule ball comes around ofc

and at this point Lance and Keith are dating

This is probably around.... Sixth year I want to say? 

So here’s the line up 

Keith and Lance go to the dance together

Shiro asks Adam in like this grand way and Adam is just like “wait we weren’t going together before??”

Matt doesn’t have a date but he invites Pidge because she threatened him (she wants to take pictures of Klance and Adashi acting cute and coupley to use as blackmail and Matt supports it)

Hunk starts freaking out because he really really really wants to ask Shay but he doesn’t know how

Lance gives him a pep talk, saying that she obviously likes him of course she’ll say yes

Hunk is still nervous

Lance is all like “C’mon asking your crush out isnt that bad if she says no she says no, but if she says yes then you get an awesome date.” 

“Says the one who had a crush on his boyfriend since second year and covered it up as a rivalry.” Lance looks offended.

“You need to stop hanging out with Pidge.” 

Lance decides to be Hunks wingman and starts asking Shay things like “You planning on going to the Yule Ball?” and “What do you think of Hunk?” He sees that she is very much interested and repots this to Hunk

He helps Hunk come up with a way to ask her

And its like the sweetest thing Romelle is in on it and she gives some stupid excuse as to why she cant study for herbology with them 

then her and lance hide behind a bookshelf, giggling

Hunk gets super flustered

But he manages to ask her

Shay also gets really flustered

But says yes

oof okay thats three of my big ships canon now for the fourth. 

When Hunk first introduces Allura to Romelle, her first thought is “Her. I want to date Her.” 

Now Lance and Allura have already come out to each other as bi disasters

It actually happened when Lance got with Keith and they were talking about him, doing facials (they take care of their skin with each other fite me) 

And Lance is just like “Yeah so I guess I like guys and girls” and allura is like “YOU CAN DO THAT” and lance is like “yeah????” and hes not sure if shes being biphobic or what and hes scared for like 0.1 second

and then allura just goes “Oh my god lonce i think i like guys and girls too”

And then they just start laughing

I guess I should also mention that they dated at one point too???

I don’t think it would’ve been super long, but probably around 3rd year they dated and thats actually probably how Allura got introduced to the Squad??

Lance first saw her when he finally joined the Gryffindor Quidditch team 

He got picked to be a Keeper the second year

So their first game is against ravenclaw

And he’s pretty good for the most part

And then all of a sudden he sees allura flying towards him and she looks so beautiful and how can she be so beautiful and--

She just scored a goal

and he was staring dumbly at her

So Lance and Allura’s relationship kind of developed like it did in the show with Lance flirting with her and Allura being annoyed to them becoming friends and eventually mutual crush

Allura’s actually the one to ask Lance out

They date for a while and theyre actually a really cute couple

(I may be a hardcore Klancer but I do find Allurlance cute on the occasion)

But after a bit... it kinda fades away?? I don’t know they just start to feel like when they kiss its not... not how they thought it would be??

They slowly start to realize that they kinda just want to be friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend

It just adds stress that they don’t want and they want to be able to tell each other anything without having to worry about stuff

so they break up soon after they start dating

but they dont?? feel too broken up about it???

Plus they like each other much more as friends than romantic partners

They don’t really go any further for a while, its just allura slipping in little things every now and again or blowing kisses at romelle in the stands as she scores a goal

When the Yule ball rolls around, both Allura and Romelle dont have dates (Lotor asked Allura to the dance because they kissed one time in a game of spin the bottle and she responded with judoflipping him)

But they have fun

Everyone has fun actually

Its amazing and fluffy

(i feel like i should write a snapshot of this so i can finally write a fic that isnt centered around klance)

And a slow song comes on

Hunk and Shay awkwardly dance with each other, blushing brightly

Lance and Keith have their heads pressed together, Lance kissing Keith’s nose as they dance and making keith so flustered he stumbles and they both fall to the floor laughing

Adam and Shiro are that couple everyone is jealous of because theyre so perfect?? Like they have matching outfits and they dance gracefully and they kiss at just the right moments??

Pidge and Matt are god knows where probably videotaping the whole thing

And Allura kinda jokingly goes, “Well I guess then we should dance too.” And Romelle surprises her by taking her hand, pulling her onto the dancefloor

and freaking allura is actually really flustered and she’s blushing, having a hard time looking at Romelle

They’re both blushing. 

At the end of the song theyre much closer to each other than they started

They look up at each other

And then Romelle squeezes her eyes tight and kisses allura

In 2014 and 2015 I did a my year in review kind of thing where I, of course, reviewed it and accompanied it with a picture from that month. I somehow forgot to post 2016 (until now) and forgot to do it at all for 2017 but unfortunately, I am back with a really disappointing year. I was debating not putting myself through the legit pain of “reviewing” this year but I think of how I love going through my 2009-2010 posts and seeing how much I’ve grown so this is for you, successful and cooler future me.

2016 and 2017 were amazing but 2018 was my most promising year. My boyfriend and I were going to move in, I was going to start my dream job; everything was perfect. It definitely started out as one of the best years of my life! Then exactly halfway through the year everything changed and I was left having to pick up the pieces and completely restart, making it one of the worst years of my life.

I started January in Mexico, which was the best, but my family and I got home early in the month. I had quit my job the month before so I dedicated the entirety of this month to job hunting. Our friend (my bf’s bff who became mine and my brother’s bff early on)’s dad got a boat so it was like we got a boat too because despite the cold, we lived on it. (My boyfriend couldn’t go on the trip with us, which he was super bummed about (and that we had to spend like 10 days apart which was killer then), so he was the one to pick us up at the airport and he greeted me with a bouquet of flowers. Out of the many gifts/gestures he gave me, that was one of my favorites.)

February I started my amazing new job so life was back to 40 hour work weeks and not having much time for much else. I was always attached to the hip to my bf so almost every day after work entailed going out with him or having dinner with my family or his. That was my month. My favorite part of every February is Valentine’s Day and this one was as amazing as the rest. I don’t even have enough space (of the allotted space I give myself for each entry at least!) to describe that day. (My bf at our Valentine’s Day dinner. We finished our long day at this restaurant (so, so cool, once popular with Old Hollywood stars) on Hollywood Blvd and it was dreamy and romantic and amazing.) Oh man, I don’t have a lot of interesting things to say about March. Oh, my parents got Influenza (A/B/idk tbh), so it was two weeks of my brother, bf, and I taking care of them. My dad has a serious chronic disease so it was especially dangerous for him so it was a stressful time. Once we weren’t in hazmat suits anymore (no but really, we were gloved and double masked around them and kept them quarantined), I’d be at work or with my bf. I also started to get close with a co-worker, who I quickly became close friends with! (My bf’s two huskies. I’ve just loved that picture since I took it! I’ve never been loved by a dog more than the one in the back of this pic. Not even by my own! He has a special place in my heart.)

April was barbecues at my house or my bf’s, trying every brewery and bar around, hikes, bike rides, beach visits, baseball games, boat rides, late night cooking and baking. It was lots and lots of love and happiness and I would give absolutely anything to go back to those days. (My brother and bf grilling on Easter. This was a familiar scene, I have so many pictures of this exact scenario, yet looking at it just now made me so emotional! Stop! They’re just grilling!) May was so exciting! Very first day I got a new car! I was so happy! It was long overdue because my finicky, expensive Volkswagen had to go and I’d fallen in love with the new Honda Civic (I’ll admit I have basic taste but I don’t care!) so I finally bit the bullet and did it. This month my bf and I, after a long time of “oh wouldn’t it be nice!”, bit the bullet as well and decided to finally get serious about finding a place together. So the apartment search started, but we soon realized our home, Orange County, was super expensive. My bf, in that “ha ha jk but I’m down if you are” way, suggested we pick up and move to Oregon and I immediately agreed. It just felt right and despite us being the most careful and non-spontaneous people ever, we decided to do it! So we began to research, look for apartments but most importantly, jobs. (My car the day I took it home!)

Uhhhhhh, well, June hurts to think about! We went to visit Portland, where we decided we’d want to live because that’s where the jobs were, on a quick trip since it was strictly “business.” Portland was everything I imagined and more. We loved it and I think we loved playing house in our airbnb more than anything about the city. Back in LAX we came to the easy conclusion that though we lived Portland, that’d require a lot and for our first time moving out we’d like to stay close to home and above anything else, we just wanted to live together as soon as possible. We immediately started to look for places in LA, we spent the month apartment hunting, and towards the end of it, decided on one we really liked, one he begged me to please say yes to so we can move in already. I was so, so, so happy this month but what made me happier was seeing my bf, I swear, even happier than me. I seriously felt unstoppable and was beyond excited for our future. (I had a lot of Portland pictures to choose from but my bf and I liked this one because it reminded us of Always Sunny for some reason.)

In July, everything changed. To start, I left my job. I thought, new chapter in my life, new job coming, I’ll live really far, I should leave now. So I did. My last day was an emotional day because I loved my job so much and every single person I worked with. That very same day, my bf and I broke up. For unrelated reasons to my last day, to our moving in, to our relationship, etc. We had an amazing, amazing relationship but he has a lot of demons and issues/insecurities he has to deal with and conquer, and though I was aware and was there for him and would continue to be by his side no matter what, he decided that this was a battle he had to handle by himself and I figure before he got into a more committed situation. It didn’t have to happen, though. I hadn’t talked about the specifics of the breakup on my blog so  sorry for changing the mood of the post, but yeah, July happened and it felt like my world stopped. Really regret quitting my job now, huh? I was hit by two huge losses and changes right at the same time.  (I took this on my friend’s boat 20 tequila shots in, drunk and sad as fuck. Not to get fake deep but how sad. Literally on a boat, beautiful sunset, would rather die.)

August was a blur and I’m still not convinced I didn’t just dream it. God, alright, here we go, the rest of the year is a mess so get ready. I fell into a deep depression fast. It also didn’t help that my dad had to start getting radiation/infusions for his illness shortly after the breakup. I couldn’t believe how much my life had changed. I started dating someone else and then I dated another guy shortly after. I wanted to replace and/or forget and I really thought that’d be the solution. I was miserable when I was with them. I took absolutely any opportunity to get really drunk or high, and the opportunity came often so I spent most of my days desperately trying to not feel anything. The only time I’d feel okay was when I was extremely high and I couldn’t even think. Since I had a lot of savings for my out of state move, I had a lot of money to blow, which I did. I realized I even liked the feeling of the temporary “high” of spending a lot and receiving the stuff. I’d hang out with any friend who offered (out of boredom? loneliness?) and even ended up on a mess of a Vegas trip. Worst month ever. Maybe. (Here’s a positive! I like that bathing suit and my tiddie looks so round!)

When September came I realized two months had passed and all I had done was be a huge depressed mess. I no joke forgot about work. I just straight up forgot. I started to look for a new job, which hurt me so bad because I had to face the fact that it wouldn’t be my Cool LA Dream Job anymore. I stopped dating. Most importantly, I completely stopped drinking and smoking because it’d almost always make me sadder but also it scared me that I had no self control nor did I care. I saw a whole lot of my close friends and they, along with my immediate family, kept me afloat this month because time felt like it was going so fast. I couldn’t believe that at a blink of an eye it was night again and then a new day. Time had no mercy for me, please let me hold on. (Me at a baseball game. Tbh I’m looking at this thinking, did this really happen?)

October started out nice because my best friend of years, who I unfortunately had a falling out with three years ago, reached out to me. I’ll always give her all of the credit for doing that. I can’t begin to explain what this meant to me. It was a nice, bright shine of light that managed to shine through the dark clouds. Having my best friend is exactly what I needed. I’m a big believer in the universe acting in mysterious ways and though I had grown disappointed in its little surprise for me lately, this was the kind I always appreciate. I spent a good part of that month with her, catching up and doing things just like we did back then. It was like nothing had changed. That’s all I remember about this month, and a super fun Halloween! That day was probably one of the best days in months. (My best friend Rylee and me the first time seeing each other in 3 years. We’ve had our blogs for 8-9 years so please follow her for quality content)

November was rough. I was frustrated because surely things should had been better by then. I was still feeling so low, I was going to job interviews to no avail, I “relapsed” and had a high/drunk off my ass on a boat messy moment.. To make matters worse, I accidentally drove up on a cement divider in a parking lot and my airbags deploy, which is so expensive to fix, so my car was out of commission for a month. Then I got so sick and I rarely ever get a small cold. I seriously felt like I was cursed, even the smallest thing felt like an insult towards me. The one good thing is that since July I had been forcing myself to go to the gym five times a week. My mom said exercising was the only thing that’d help her feel that sweet release of seretonin, endorphins, dopamine, and all that good stuff when she was depressed so, though I enjoyed going to the gym before, I did it just for that reason alone. It worked and as another result I got like pretty fucking fit. Revenge body, you’re one of the few good things in my life right now. (I literally had no idea what to choose so I said fine, here’s a pic of the scene of the crime. Whatever.)

In December I turned 26. Which I hate, naturally. I went to a million more job interviews. I’m seriously so embarrassed to admit that but whatever, it’s the truth. (I have a degree, experience, and an awesome cover letter..I’ll keep blaming the curse!) What kept me sane was that we had different family members visiting from the very beginning of the month. Playing with an energetic, adorable baby kept me distracted and happy. Having so much company around also distracted me (slightly, but it helped!) from the fact that the holidays and my birthday would be quite different now. I’m one of those annoying Christmas lovers, usually at least. This year everything just happened and I didn’t care. But I survived December! (I don’t care. This is the appropriate representation of 2018 and how I feel at the end of it.)

Jesus if you’ve read all of this.. I’m sorry you had to read about the mess of my year but really more like the mess that is ME. Yknow those like “people my age I went to HS with vs me” memes? I seriously went from being that bitch with a good paying job, brand new car, a serious, great relationship with a promising future together (Like. We would color coordinate outfits! LMAO. We would have dinners with both of our families together. We were obsessed with each other. You’d roll your eyes if you saw any of this. I can’t get over how perfect we were, it’s hilarious what happened to us.) and then at the blink of an eye I went to not having absolutely any of that, casually dating (something I’d NEVER done) anyone who resembled my ex and sadly and drunkenly puking off the side of a pier. Who is she? I don’t know, I got whiplash. (Queen of parentheses and side notes, I know. But another thing about me is... I’ve never been affected by people leaving my life. I’m used to it. I’ve never been anywhere as affected as I was when my ex and I broke up. This isn’t normal for me, my ENTJ/Capricorn ass doesn’t know what this feeling is.)

Please curse that has been put on me, release me. Whoever is attacking my voodoo doll, calm down! Please! I’ve gone through enough sadness and loss. If 2019 is even slightly as bad, I’m going to be like that pigeon I reblogged the other day that’s like “fuck this I’m just going to sit here.” I can’t even make a cute but corny, hopeful “hope 2019 is great!” comment. I’m literally begging you...pleading you... I don’t believe in karma but after all of this shit, I better have something much better in stock for me. “Good things are coming!” I fucking hope so. Like, I’ll be even more annoying right now and say that it’s not fair that I didn’t get to have the future I was about to have. I don’t care about any cliche you may have for me. One door closes, everything happens for a reason, God has a plan, etc. No. Why did all of this have to happen? What can be better than the future I was going to have? I felt so unlucky. It all feels like a nightmare and I’m just waiting to feel whole again. Oh shit I got really intense. I know I’ll get over it and life will be good again eventually but for now, I am still so mad. I would have never in a million years guessed this is how my 2018 would go. 

So fine, I’ve accepted things now, so now I’m impatient and say please prove me wrong, 2019. I’m THREATENING you to be amazing!

a/n; posting this on steves bday! (jk its like 1:38 am july 5th but it was written on his bday) ps been forever since i updated this and im SO close to finishig my Lucien fic!!! EEP!!!!

News spread like the black plague in December of 1940. The US had entered the war. The streets grew quiet save for the foolish young boys who would whoop and holler at the prospect of heading into the face of the enemy. In reality, they would be heading into the face of death. But Y/N decided not to think about that. Instead she worried for her friends.

Steve.

Four years ago his mother died. SInce that night, things changed between them. Things were quieter. Steve openly admitted his feelings for Y/N about four months after his mother's passing, Y/N sadly told him that while she felt the same, didn’t want to ruin their friendship and Bucky. . . Bucky was Bucky.

But different.

He did go back to his womanizing ways but nonetheless, he was different around Y/N. Especially in the moments they were alone. A silence that could be cut with a hot knife. Y/N told Steve about their kiss once but said nothing happened after that. Steve never mentioned it to Bucky.

Steve knew how to pick his fights with those closest to him and since he had got the girl in a way, it didn’t matter to him. The only thing that did was that they were still friends.

And they were.

Adjusting to life without Sarah was hard for everyone. Y/N missed her soft smile, Bucky missed her sweet greetings, their parents missed Christmases together and Steve just missed her in general. As any son would miss a mother who died too soon.

But nonetheless, he moved on. He still attended school. He took art classes and Bucky attended the same school and occasionally the same class.

Y/N and her two closest friends spent Saturday evenings going out and sometimes staying in. Bucky began going out without them and when December rolled in and Steve and Bucky heard of the US joining in, Bucky had some news to share.

It was an early mid December morning when four knocks sounded on Y/N’s door. She, with hesitation, got up and answered seeing as no one else would be doing it for her. (Her mother worked an extra job on the weekends).

“Bucky.” She answered, surprised. “Hey, doll.” He smirked and Y/N rolled her eyes. Once, she would have thought he was serious. But now that Bucky knew Y/N had feelings for Steve and vice versa, she didn’t bat an eye at his phrases. Bucky knew about their mutual emotions, but didn’t know nor understand their situation. And with the past four years gone out the window, he thought it was time for his friends to find some real company. If ruining friendship was a problem, Bucky would set them up to where it wouldn’t be an issue.

“Not that I don’t adore your company, but why are you here?” She asked. The trio hadn’t set any plans for that day.

“Well, as you have probably heard,” He began, taking a step across the threshold. Y/N let him inside and shut the door behind him. “The war is here. And as a celebration, I was thinking about taking you and Steve and a few other friends out tonight.” Bucky told Y/N. She rolled her eyes sarcastically. “You have other friends?” She teased.

“You must think I’m some bum, huh?” Bucky asked with his signature smug look. “Whatever, Buck.” Y/N joked and he smiled. “You’re not denying!”

“Who is it?” She laughed out, pretending to be tired about their play bickering. “Who is who?” He sighed with a loving smirk, sitting on her couch. “The others we’re going with?” She told him, sitting next to him, propping her feet across his legs.

“Oh, um,” Bucky grew quiet at this and Y/N felt a disapproving feeling growing in her mind. “Doris and her friend and her brother.” He admitted. “First of all, Doris?” Y/N asked with her voice absolutely coated in disapproval. “Second of all, why a friend and why her brother?” Y/N asked, suspicion in her deep tone. She sat down on her couch and had resumed absentmindedly flipping through a magazine.

Bucky sat across from her on one of two walnut armchairs. Y/N’s grandmother had bought them and brought them back on a trip from France and had given them to her mother as a gift for Y/N’s birth. They creaked under Bucky’s form.

“Look, you may be pissed at me for this but you have been pissed at me for countless other things.” His intro was less than favorable in Y/N’s ears, but she let him continue. “Doris is bringing her friend for Steve and brother for you. As a date.” You stood up in anger. “You-- what?” She asked and Bucky stood as well, towering over her.

“It’s been years Y/N! He hasn’t made a single move to put a serious label on you two. Don’t you think that’s a little insane?” He raises his voice and she scoffs, turning away from him. His fingers grip her wrist and she swivels to glare at him.

They stare at each other a moment before Bucky explains himself further. “You and I know that while Steve is a great guy, he refuses to do anything and while you may not think so, I know that you deserve better.” She looked away from his swimming blue eyes. Y/N knew that any girl in Brooklyn would kill to have Bucky look at them that way. But she knew it meant more directed at her. He was her best friend and meant the words he said to her.

“Maybe while we’re there he might finally say something.” She tried to give herself excuses and Bucky huffed and turned around, letting her arm go. “Just go.” He pleaded, turning back to see her, messing with her hands. “Fine.” Bucky’s face lit up with wonder. “But,” she pointed a finger at him. “I won’t enjoy it.”

The park was crowded. More so than usual. People whispered in excitement as they walked from ride to ride and many whispers were of one of two things. One, the war. You glanced among your friends, catching Steve’s eye. You knew how he felt about it all. He wanted so desperately to join the effort. But alas, was rejected. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know why.

He was scrawny. Short. Had many medical problems. Not to mention he couldn’t run fifteen feet without needing his inhaler.

Or, the other topic, the Stark presentation that was going on soon. There was rumors Mr. Stark had learned how to make futuristic cars that would levitate instead of travel on the ground. You thought it was too good to be true but according to posters and the hype of the event, he may have out-Stark-ed himself this time.

Sighing, you fell back into step with Bucky, Doris, Doris’ brother Daniel, Doris’ friend Bonnie and Steve. Daniel was nice. He looked like Doris but was taller and had a bigger build. He had deep brown hair and hazel eyes and was at least a head taller than you. Bonnie, on the other hand, was fair and had light hair, blonde, with stunning green eyes. She was beautiful. An angel.

Steve would love her.

Bucky seemed to definitely be enjoying himself. One arm slung around Doris she laughed, giggled and twirled her hair around her finger. You wanted to throw up on how girly she was acting in front of your friend. And more so on how much he was buying into it.

Steve was distracted, though. Poor girl. All he cared about was the patriotic decorations and the Uncle Sam posters plastered everywhere. She was distracted by the rides, however. Finally your gaze landed on the shoes of Daniel. He was all smiles. Hands in his pockets just strolling along side you all.

“Aren’t you bored? I’m not even paying attention to you.” You asked, feeling slightly guilty. He looked at you and smiled. “I’m just glad im here. It’s alright if we don’t talk. I mean, we can talk if you want but I don’t want you to feel forced to open up or say anything around me.” He told you and you nodded. This man was very sweet, very considerate.

You glanced at Steve. You knew you only had eyes for him and suddenly felt very bad for Daniel. “Thank you.” Was all you said to him as you all came up to the presentation area. It was already crowded and showgirls already lined the stage, about to perform. You looked at Steve who was looking guiltily at his shoes as he scooted closer to Bonnie.

In his mind, he knew he didn’t want to be with Bonnie. He wanted to be with you. But he had been a coward to ruin what the two of you had all this time it was too late. And now he’s working on joining the war and so now, he could get killed in battle. He didn’t want to be with you and then risk his life. He couldn’t do that to you.

Looking at him now, you knew you should try to move on, you leaned closer into Daniel’s touch. It was foreign but you would try to enjoy it.

The Stark’s presentation was interesting. He had invented floating cars, however, it only stayed in the air for a matter of a half of a minute.

When it was over, Doris and Bonnie

wanted to go dancing but by the way Doris occupied Bucky’s left arm while Bonnie, his right, Y/N could tell Bonnie had no interest in dancing with her proper date.

Daniel looked expectantly to Y/N as the suggestion was brought to light and you felt a pit grow in your stomach. Y/Nloved dancing. Adored it. But she looked at Daniel and didn’t see who she wanted to partner with. She liked how Steve was just tall enough to be around her height, a little shorter but still, making dancing comfortable.

Y/N glanced around, noticing Steve wasn’t around. Bucky seemed to notice in that moment as well as he dropped the girls’ arms.

“We’ll have to get back to you on that.” Bucky muttered the girls an apology and you too, dropped Daniel’s arm. They began to complain. You blatantly rolled your eyes, ignoring Bucky’s panic. He wanted you to make a good impression and you were showing them attitude.

“Look. Not that you,” You looked at Bonnie. “Noticed because you were too busy drooling over my best friend, or that any of you did for that matter but my other best friend is missing to God knows where and probably has two black eyes by now, knowing him, so we are gonna go find him. If you,”

This time you looked to Daniel. “Have a problem with that then there was no chance this could ever happen anyway and trust me chances were already low. And if you two have a problem I will have no issue with making sure Bucky never sees either of you again. Now let’s go.” You finished your annoyance fueled speech and proceeded to grab Bucky by the arm and pulled him away.

Once a far enough distance from your group you began to really search. “You didn’t have to say all that back there.” Bucky muttered as he stood on his toes, scanning the crowd, sometimes some nooks and crannies for signs of a fight.

“Yes, I did. I would have said the same for you. But you know how I feel about Steve so I meant it just a little bit more.” You smirked at Bucky who half heartedly smiled. You didn’t have time to say much more as you found a building that also held a clinic for young men to sign up for the draft.

You rolled your eyes as the signs practically would draw Steve in like a moth to light. You nudged Bucky’s elbow, pointed to the building.

Steve was standing in front of a reflective mirror. It was dark but whoever stood on a pedestal could see their face on the head of a soldier. You could only see Steve’s eyes and a little bit of his nose. You couldn’t stand to see him at the moment but Bucky approached him and spoke with him for a long while.

You couldn’t keep up and in the meantime you had struck up a conversation with a German man who was nice. He inquired if you were friends with Bucky and Steve and you had said yes, saying you had been friends for a long while.

You both fell into comfortable conversation while Bucky and Steve chatted and soon after Bucky came up to you, drawing you away from the man.

“Steve isn’t coming but he’ll be alright.” He told you and you looked to Steve who had been gazing at you but now averted his eyes.

“He said we can hangout at your apartment tomorrow. Just the three of us. For a proper hangout. Just in time for me to leave.” You had forgotten Bucky had been drafted. “Right.” You muttered allowing him to lead you away, waving goodbye to the German man, Doctor as you learned, and to Steve.

Maybe Steve would never make his move. Maybe it would take a little push. Maybe it would take the life threatening chance to win a war. You would know soon enough.
