So much about current DC is so casually or clearly antisemitic it's just painful at this point.
So I was going through the Solicitations for Dc's December comics and I got so fucking mad To start it off, one of the first things I see when I open Instagram after Rosh HaShana is Superman drawn as Jesus/a Christ figure for an official cover by Jorge Jimenez. Then, there's an entire event throughout November and December in DC that's centered around Santa Claus. All well and fine, but two of the leading characters that have been chosen to hang around Santa are Harley Quinn and Damian Wayne, both very much ethnically Jewish at least.
These two characters' Jewishness is ambiguous and barely mentioned, so maybe DC just forgot? But that's exactly part of it, how these characters are very much Jewish going into their families and heritage, but DC chooses to ignore that repeatedly, making that part of their identities irrelevant and unmentioned. Not only that, but DC keeps hiring the same artist who's known to be a N@zi (and a CP artist), Otto Schmidt, for some of their Christmas and Santa covers. It makes me soooo mad and it's so, so wrong on so many levels.
The last time in recent memory I can recall a character's Jewish heritage being acknowledged in a recent DC comic I read, was with Hal Jordan, in Knight Terrors: Green Lantern, only because a Twitter user told the series writer Hal was Jewish, or he wouldn't know otherwise. I never understand why it's the fans' obligation to remind a writer of a character's heritage or ethnicity, why isn't it already known to the writer? Why are these things, which are a big part of so many people's lives are so largely ignored in stories that discuss these people's lives?
It's a gut kick at the worst level and it hurts like hell. It makes it a million times worse that it's not only Judaism and characters' Jewishness. It's all aspects and types of culture, from Selina Kyle's essentially erased and forgotten of ethnicity to whitewashing Damian Wayne and so on. God I hate it.

A Rick Rolls a Nation — a timeline of the JD Vance couch joke
July 15th, 2024: "can't say for sure but he might be the first vp pick to have admitted in a ny times bestseller to fucking an Inside-out latex glove shoved between two couch cushions (vance, hillbilly elegy, pp. 179-181)." — @ rickrudescalves (the now deleted tweet)
Arguably, this ground zero tweet overly complicates things. Soon, the "latex glove" element will be completely forgotten and JD will *only* be fucking couches "raw dog style" in almost all subsequent variations on the joke.
July 15th, 2024 - Present: The joke goes absolutely bonkers viral. Comedian Kathy Griffin, who famously overstepped in 2017 by posing for a photo with a model of Trump's bloodied, disembodied head, believes the joke to be true, boosts it as if it is.
July 24th, 2024: The Associated Press publishes a fact check of the "claim," which is inherently hilarious.
July 25th, 2024: The Associated Press retracts the piece, causing fans of the Vance/couch meme to go wild with delight, the joke being that they retracted it because there's actually something to it. “The story, which did not go out on the wire to our customers, didn’t go through our standard editing process. We are looking into how that happened" — AP spokesperson Nicole Meir
July 30th, 2024: Business Insider tracks down the originator of the joke and interviews him --->
"@ rickrudescalves hid the post within a week of publishing it, but the couch joke had already left an impression."
He says he was uncomfortable with the attention the joke received, and is mildly worried about being accused of election interference, but has no regrets.
Rick cites Werner Herzog, Jorge Luis Borges, John Fowles, and Hunter S. Thompson in explaining precedents for the form and details of the joke.
July 31st, 2024: JD Vance either intentionally makes a lame joke embracing (or trying to claim ownership of) the couch meme, or does so accidentally via free association. Either way, it falls totally flat and the man continues to dazzle America with his complete lack of charisma and his disgusting views on women's rights.
August 6th, 2024: Tim Walz is selected as Kamala Harris's Vice Presidential running mate. That night, in Philadelphia, Walz kills with a Vance/Couch joke.
August 7-8th-ish, 2024: The far right, led by Laura Loomer and Don Jr, makes an unfunny, clumsy, intentional attempt to do the same kind of joke with Walz by claiming...he...drinks horse cum? Because this is so...just gross—a classic over-escalation, you might say—and completely manufactured, this attempt seems to be dead on arrival.
August 9th, 2024: The non-GOP backlash officially begins. New York Magazine pubishes:
"Besides the tiresome-but-correct moral case, leaning on fake memes also just isn’t necessary, much as it may delight Democrats’ online base. Good political candidates have always known how to get vicious while staying within the lines of accuracy. This means homing in on opponents’ real weaknesses, a task the Harris campaign has thus far excelled at."
To which there was an excellent Twitter response:
Right. Who owns the joke? Is it democrats? Is it officials or citizens? The answer is no one, and therefore the idea it can be policed is itself a kind of joke, I think.
Where will it go from here? We shall see.
I wonder if we'll ever learn the identity of Rick, because, I agree, I think a joke made in mid-July may have altered history.

last time I fucking promise but since I was doing Jorge’s retirement I had to do Dani’s….🥲
Marc - same as for Jorge, I think he already had a sm manager at that point so just a pretty generic post / caption (but very nice / respectful)
Casey - ALSJEKSLSLSKKWKW ok a masterful neg is apparently Casey’s calling card im screaming. “Riding a motogp bike at his size is astounding, trust me it’s not easy!” marge simpson meme ‘it’s true…but do you have to say it’ like CASEEEEEEYYYYYY he’s RETIRING stop w the WAR CRIMES 😭 I like his posts the second best tho bc they’re always v from the heart…it’s just that his heart is like 50% gold, 50% raw spite he’s suppressing w all he has in him
Vale - absolutely nothingggggg 😌 unbothered as hell. posted a bunch abt the academy boiz this year & the following which makes it even funnier to me that he didn’t put up anything for Jorge or Dani
Jorge - like an incredibly sweet and personal and slightly messy caption that made me embarrassingly emoshhh to read 🥲 “in case many don’t remember, three times World Champion” GAH.
(also bonus fact just bc idk who / where / why I’d ever share it otherwise but Jorge does v sweet birthday posts for his mom almost every year and never has posted his dad once that I’ve seen so HA sometimes you DO break the cycle and heal!!!! who’s doing it like him fr)
I tried to scroll back on twitter for jorge's but eventually I realised I couldn't be bothered. saw plenty in the mean time that gave me psychic damage. so again the only one of these I've actually located is the casey one
see "at his size" IS fairly innocuous phrasing and casey DOES deserve a little benefit of the doubt... except I can also imagine the tone he would have said this in, so. maybe not. perhaps he sounds a bit like this. "at his size" "considering" brother I promise you that you can pay him compliments without adding what sounds suspiciously like qualifications. or take this from his autobiography --
-- the word "still" doing a lot of work here. or even his 2010 line about how dani was basically useless if he crashed twice in a weekend. now, look, I DO think casey is genuine when he talks about his respect for dani, I just also think he simply cannot help himself. he's just so used to being the best at what he does and so unencumbered by little concerns like 'tact' that he can end up coming across as wonderfully condescending. but y'know, it's sweet enough
I've already expressed my support for valentino thinking he's too good for posting retirement statements for other riders. as he should. but yeah you can always rely on older jorge to be a wet blanket about dani... god bless our troops
#and cute about jorge and his mum. again his social media does give me too much psychic damage to engage with it for long but#i am consistent in my belief athletes should simply not have social media. nothing good comes of it#EXCEPT holger rune#i will at some point answer the valentino ask.... it has informally bled into stuff i've written about him since reading it#//#brr brr#alien tag#batsplat responds#i think casey does like and respect dani but the other aliens like. adore him#there's a very short list of things jorge valentino and marc agree on but 'isn't dani fantastic' has to be up there#so casey kinda loses that particular contest by default. but also he's a bit of a dick!! patronising as shit

Rating men of Villedor🔥 on their ✨Submissive and Breedable meter✨
Aitor:
Starting with the canon DILF. The true unproblematic man out of the other trail mix of a cast (fruity and nuts). Toned body, divorcee rizz, beautiful cut, 30 years in the closet still no drip (get back in there!!!). Only downside well unfortunately he’s British. (cr: from twitter)
Submissive: 2/5 (his boots are made for walking) Breedable: 3/5 (averagely manly, muscular body, not macho)
Barney:
Extremely closeted homosexual, lost an online argument by saying gay men “makes him fucking vomit” and got a reply that says “then loosen your throat” and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. That was three years ago, insists “$20 is $20” but anything for a bottle of eyeliner.
Submissive: 0/5 (Very defensive about it)Breedable: 1/5 (sex appeal of a twig)
Juan:
Our beloved bimbo. Listens to WAP and Ayesha Erotica while blowing a PK. Regina Jorge. Puss in glitterboots. True neutral switch. His body, just like him, swung both ways on the noose, true legend in bed AND in death.
Submissive: 4/5 (scored 100% on an online bdsm test) Breedable: 2/5 (stinky rat man)
Vinny:
Canon Twink supreme. Techland redefined fucktoy with his tsundere attitude and sass. The closets equivalent of him would be blonde pushover anime girl that gets rejected at the end of the romcom.
Submissive: 5/5 (definite femboy fodder) Breedable: 3/5 (far too flat)
Hakon:
The holy grail of a manwhore, discord kitten, Villedor’s favorite princess, runs an only fan account of the post apocalyptic world. Got pinned under some guy during a fistfight once and started meowing. Pathetic kitty man.
Submissive: 4/5 (rawed by life so hard that he started enjoying it) Breedable: 5/5 (French bussy unreal)
#dying light#dying light 2#dying light hakon#juan rainer#dying light aitor#dying light Barney#dying light Vinny#woke up from a cold sweat to write this#thank you everyone

Yes, maybe this championship was deserved, but I've never seen as undeserving fans as Pecco fans on social media cause what the actual fuck is wrong with some of you?? Not only making fun of Jorge for being emotional about loosing a championship he would have deserved so much, and spamming Pramac comments with "crying?" or "cry!" comments, just because they were celebrating their insane achievement, but also making up lies and saying that Jorge purposefully hurt Marc and didn't apologise, when he of fucking course didn't want to ever hurt Marc and he did apologise and Marc understood why he did it. Also since when do Pecco fans care about Spaniards? I thought they're always the problem? Anyways this behaviour all across social media (mostly Instagram and twitter) is disgusting, especially from the winning side of the championship.

hey! i read your post about pecco's (and other riders) red flags and i wanted you ask if jorge martin has done some controversial stuff also
i swear i'm not trying to start shit, you can just tell me no he has not done anything wrong :)
and also espargaro, they said he has had many "angry" moments before that with morbidelli i just wondered if you remember any
Hi again anon 👋👋👋👋
I didn't put them on the list because I didn't know their 'red flag' and to be honest I still don't know them that well. I only started following MotoGP in 2020 and there's still a bunch of lore that I don't know about a lot of riders.
What can I tell you about Martín is the following, he likes to drag people in the media either riders or teams (or Michelin yesterday). He is on the believe os 'I'm the best qualified for everything and I deserve the world'. He had been a bit shady with Ducati in the past, but apparently Ducati failed him. Overall is just his actitud (and living in Andorra). After that he is pretty green flag. He is supportive of other riders and I remember someone in the fandom said that they have seen him display support towards victims of homophobia in Madrid back in 2020 or 2019. He also doesn't forget who has helped him and he was so appreciative of Aleix and the help he gave him over the years.
Edit: I fucking forgot the flag! The fucking flag! Okay so every time Jorge is in the podium/wins, he carries a Spanish flag with a bull in it. It's a iffy symbol. It's know as the 'Toro de Osborne' and it's associated with a Spanish nationalism. It doesn't sit well in all Spain (lets say I seen it associated with the extrem right in politics although it not exclusive of them).
With Espargaró I'm going to assume it's only Aleix and not Pol (who is one of the greenest flags in the paddock with Rins (and maybe Joan pending the black face incident and him liking hunting and guns)). So Aleix is knows for his temper outburst. Like it's not the first time you see him screaming to a rider, marshal or even his mechanics, and before anyone attack him, he knows he is not the best and it's already working to solve it (we love a self-aware man). He used to be the rider that followed everyone and their mother in track to the a toe/slipstream, but now he gets mad when other people do that. There's a 'funny' incident with Petrux, where he got in between him and another rider and Petrux went to Twitter/X to show his displeasure, and Aleix pulled the data of the incident to prove that he actually was helpful and that helped Petrux to get a better lap time even if he didn't get directly to Q2 or passed from Q1 to Q2. He used to get in lot of troubles in social media due to comments and the way he speaks, no filter, with the truth upfront and not sugar coating things, but he is the same with the media. You either like him for that or you hate him, unfortunately, Pol usually gets dragged to that because people get confused with the brothers. He also was 'accused' of being pro-catalan independence, but he cleared that up. Out side the track, he is very vocal for the riders safety, takes care of a lot of riders and is friend of his friends.
As far as I know (again, I've been around only since 2020), it's the first time he got violent with another rider, and got to that extrem, Said that, apparently is not the first time that Morbidelli had been sitting on the racing line ans it's not the first time Aleix has encountered him. It's not an excuse for what he did, I'm just pointing out that both are wrong.
As always, anyone who has more info can jump and add stuff. I encourage to reblog and add to this, not just add in the comments or in the tags.

Hey Brian! Massive fan of Botch, Russian Circles and Sumac!
I was just curious to find out what are some of your favourite books?
Hope to see Russian Circles and Sumac over the pond again in Scotland!
Cheers!
Oh hey! Thanks!
I love Scotland. My genealogy-obsessed aunt insists our family is descended from Robert the Bruce. Who knows if that's true, but got Bruce as my middle name.
Favorite books? Oh man, this is gonna make me look so uncool.
For pure entertainment, I'd have to go with Stephen King's The Stand. I've read it four or five times over the course of my life. It's just a great epic good-vs-evil story, with some good social commentary sprinkled throughout.
As a teenager who discovered the joys of "classics" in the '90s, I have a soft spot for a lot of the 20th century writers that folks on Twitter love to dunk on these days. But fuck it... Kerouac's Duluoz Legend series made me realize that sometimes the way you write about something can be more interesting than what you're actually writing about.
And yeah, Hemingway was definitely saddled with some unfortunate prejudices, but The Sun Also Rises struck upon a very specific kind of melancholy that I haven't found anywhere else. I was talking about it with a couple of friends and there seemed to be a clear division between people who loved the book and people who were unimpressed: all the people who loved it were folks in touring bands. I think there's just something about that experience of parting ways with someone after being in close companionship in unfamiliar territories for a brief period of time that Hemingway captured perfectly.
As long as we're talking about melancholy and classic authors that folks love to hate on: J.D. Salinger's Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters completely floored me. You can skip the Seymour novella that comes bundled with it. But holy shit, I don't understand why Catcher in the Rye gets all the attention when Raise High is right there next to it on the book shelf.
And fuck it. I loved Infinite Jest and I think about passages from the book all the time. I am a walking stereotype of a Gen X male. Sorry.
More recently? I love Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. I love Karl Ove Knausgaard's My Struggle series (granted, part six was a bit of a slog). I love Jorge Luis Borges' Collected Fictions. Patti Smith's Just Kids and M Train. Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude.
Every once in a blue moon I'll decide to tackle something "difficult" and the experience is always rewarding: Tolstoy's War & Peace (not actually difficult, just long), James Joyce's Ulysses (get a reader's guide and treat it like a puzzle), Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow (the cashier who sold it to me gave the best advice: at some point you'll have no idea what is goin on... just accept that you're lost and enjoy the ride). While these books are a struggle, they definitely imprint something on the brain. They stay with you.
In the last couple of years, I've really gotten into Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's work, particularly Half of a Yellow Sun, though Americanah and Notes on Grief also bowled me over too. Finally got around to reading Roberto Bolaño's The Savage Detectives and loved it... currently have 2666 in the queue. And I've really been enjoying the stuff put out by a small publisher from the UK called Broodcomb Press that all seems to be in a creepy rustic folk-horror tradition, and I suspect that it's really just one writer working under a series of aliases.
So there ya have it. Kinda basic; nothing crazy. But the classics are classics for a reason, I guess.

Callout post!
Hey all, this is a more serious post then usual but I can't keep quiet about this.
The user @/the-garden-of-secrets has been harassing artist and fanfic writers, and recently they've been trying to force others into roleplay porn. They've been a pain in my ass recently so now I'm taking a stand.
-Specifically, they befriend artists and writers so they can get free artworks for their ships or Ocs. Same for fanfic writers. They take out all of your energy so that they can get free stuff out of it while pretending to be your friend. They've even made one of my friends write something that they didn't want to write. It's manipulation at its most basic level and can be really dangerous to younger users' health and safety online!
-They've also been using people as a "therapist" even when users stated that they were younger than them. For contest, this user is in their 30s. The people that they vent to are usually much younger than they are (teens and young adults). Not only is this fucking creepy as hell but it's also harmful to both people involved.
-They’ve also been known to shit talk and slander others over ships that they don’t like. It’s petty and just downright ridiculous, especially their so called reasoning for why they’re right. So far they've been involved in the Coco, Book of Life, El Tigre, GDT Pinnochio, Maya and the Three, and "Anything related to Jorge Gutierrez" fandoms.
Evidence:
Tl:dr; They’re in their 30s, yet they act like a teen or toddler when they don't get their way. They're manipulative to younger people online, and present a danger to others.
Here are the usernames for their socials. Make sure you block them as soon as you can!

OH FUCK I WAS TAGGED BY @dougbowser FOR SOMETHING UHHHHHHH
Last song I listened to: “All Of Me” by Masayoshi Takanaka (This is like the millionth time I listened to this album it’s very “Me-core” if that makes any sense? Probably.)
Thing I’m watching: “Canadian Bacon” (1995 flick starring John Candy for Canada Day celebrations. Currently don’t have much to eat at the moment, so this’ll have to make up for it.)
Thing I’m reading: Attempting to read “The Garden of Forking Paths” by Jorge Luis Borges. Was recommended to me by a person on Twitter and am super duper interested so far!
Current Obsession: Been expanding my collection of SNES games and DOOM .WADS. Recently finished a replay of “Super Mario RPG” in advance for the upcoming remake, and currently going through myhouse.wad, along with John Romero’s unofficial 5th episode for DOOM I, “SIGIL.” Enjoying all of these so far!
uhhhhhhhh @socialburden i think you’re the only person who i think would be interested in this so here you go i guess?????????

So I hate to be the person who goes on some long winded reply to offhanded comments on a Tumblr post but this phenomenon and the self-satisfied Only A Dipshit Would Fall For This attitude has been bugging the hell out of me since I saw it. I absolutely felt like some of these were fake, but I've seen some of these go around for years as if they were real. Trying to actually find any of this out? Kind of a pain in the ass! A lot of clickbait articles, lame r/gaming threads and tweets that lead largely nowhere. Tried my best, and this is what I've got:
1st image: ❌ This one has been regurgitated everywhere. Reposts on Reddit, Twitter, fucking eBaumsworld, and other sites with attention grabbing headlines like Twelve Playstation Ads That Wouldn't Fly Today And Will Fucking Blow Your Mind! It's a fake photoshoot done by @notshysmith on Twitter back in 2021. It's convincing enough, and I've gotta say it's a cool set of pics, but it is a fake.
2nd image: ✔️ I am pretty much 100% certain this is real. The anecdotal evidence of "I swear I saw this as a kid!!" gets less and less valid every day, but I really do remember seeing this one in magazines when I was younger. And to support that: here's a link to a (sort of dubious) ad archiving website that surfaces the market said ads were served to, names of copywriters, art directors, ad agencies responsible and so on. It points to the names of a few people whom show up in other places attributed to advertising, sometimes even the same ad or similar ones. While they don't show up a ton on Google, Jorge Carreño and Eric Helias are the art director and copywriter involved in a few Playstation 2 ads from the time, despite not explicitly being listed in some of the aforementioned links, and TBWA is a legitimate ad agency in Paris that's still active. Here's a link to Behance that links both the "Sleepless Nights" ad and the "Realism" heart ad back. Could this be a case of misattribution? I can't rule it out 100%, but I wholeheartedly doubt it.
3rd image: ✔️ Surprisingly to me, this one also appears to be real. Here's a link to another ad archiving site with proper attribution. Another TBWA joint, the art direction is attributed to a one Christian Finucane, who you can google and find his very real IG page, as well as other print ads he did for Sony at the time. Jon Skinner was the copywriter and also, as far as I can tell, has worked in the Australian ad biz for a long while. Seems pretty real to me
4th image: ❌ I couldn't for the life of me find any attribution or credit for this one outside of random Twitter posts, from which some even repeat the claim that the 8th image here is a fake. UNTIL I found a link to another tweet with the unedited image of Devon Aoki that claims to be for a beauty & lifestyle magazine named Jalouse. Jalouse, as far as I can tell, is a smaller French publication for which this photo was done, and it was then mocked up as a fake PS2 ad by... someone. Here's an eBay listing for the issue this shoot was done for.
The slogan "whenever, wherever, forever" was actually used by Sony in the past, just for the record.
5th image: ✔️ Again, I really do think this one is real, but I'm iffier on it. There's an AdsSpot listing for it that links the work back to Christian Finucane, Jon Skinner, and Whybin\TBWA. Jon Bader is also listed as the photographer, who is a Sydney-based photographer with a pretty extensive advertising portfolio. This ad is absent, but I really only think this portfolio goes back only so far. I do genuinely think this is real, but can't provide sufficiently convincing evidence outside of one AdsSpot page. If anyone who might see this has confirmation or can tell me it's bullshit, let me know.
6th image: ✔️ A little more confident on this one. The same wordpress blog I linked in the second image's description cites this as an ad just named RUBIK, and links to other similarly dark and grungy ads of the same campaign. The ads are tied to BBDO Chile, an advertising agency in Chile that returns credible hits upon Googling. Joaquin Bascunan and Cristian Schinadeerman, (no really valuable hits for this name,) were both creative directors on this one and I also don't really have any reason to doubt the veracity of this one.
So, here's the part where I have to tackle some things I've had doubts on while figuring all this out: Adforum, who I've cited and been thumbing through for a lot of verifying information, is also a site whose legitimacy I struggled to confirm at first. The wikipedia article for it is currently tagged as "[containing content] that is written like an advertisement," and ultimately feels slapdash. The credits on certain pieces are freely available, while some of the more dubious pieces I've researched have them locked behind a subscription fee. Hervé de Clerck, its founder, has a relatively recently updated Twitter and Linkedin profile, a YouTube video I was able to track down where he spoke about responsibility in advertising, and Adforum has Wayback machine screenshots dating back to 2000. It seems like this is an above-board site that is employing a really shitty business model that, either purposefully or not, obfuscates information about ads. It muddies this whole process in a way that is incredibly frustrating and makes me doubt, really, any information I see on the internet even further.
AdsSpot is even harder to discern, but they seem to be an arm of LiveAD, a Brazilian ad agency. (Reference 7 in this Wiki article links back to an AdsSpot hit which seems to imply ownership or involvement.) Once again, they ALSO lock full credits for most of their ads behind a subscription fee.
But, both sites have lead me to ostensibly real people who've worked in advertising, copywriting and photography who I have no reason to suspect are made up for the sake of fluffing a fake ad agency's website or to spread misinformation on what is ultimately a niche topic. There's still, however, this doubt that runs through me on every search I make regarding this topic now. Old video game print ads aren't a completely ignored form of 'lost media,' but they're definitely not as well archived as they could be, and there's so little clear information on a lot of these more "controversial" ads. I think for the ones I've claimed to have pretty strong confidence in being real are just cases of poor archival, unclear attribution, or both. I realize there's some hypocrisy in continuing to just go about testing the rest of these images, but I feel like I kind of have to now. I'm this fucking deep!
7th image: ✔️ As I linked in the 2nd image's description, here's that same Behance posting linked directly to Jose Carreno on this one. For whatever reason, the caption/title of the piece in the upper left has been wiped from this one, and some color correction's been done on it here, but again, I don't have any reason to doubt this one. I'm saying legit until proven otherwise.
8th image: ❌ Same as the 4th image. This is a photo of Naomi Campbell for a different publication that's been done up with a faux PS2 ad style. Definitely faked. REALLY cool pieces of art though.
Jesus christ I swear I didn't mean for this post to be this long but I really got it in me that I wouldn't half-ass this and found it really interesting to trace all this shit back as far as I could. Video game ads, like literally all advertising, have always been "mass market weird" and provocative to varying degrees and I don't think it's hard to believe that old shit like this is real. I mean, yes, David Lynch did in fact produce commercials for Sony. No, he did not do every weird PS2 ad you saw. No, I still don't know if these fucking panty sniffing French PS2 ads are real but I really wouldn't rule it out. Maybe I'll figure that one out some other time
Vintage PlayStation 2 ads
Instagram @vrtlworld
#long post#if you've got any information on any of these ads/the veracity of them please prove me wrong!#none of this is that serious like it's old video game ads but less misinfo is less misinfo at the end of the day

Who are your favorite comics artists?
Oooo this is a great question <3

Character Bingo: either Koichi
(either? You talking about Jorge Joestar Koichi, who is just Koichi with a propeller for a head, or Yasuho? Yasuho rules, if I get asked about her she gets her own post when I finish JJL)
.....eeeh.....
I don't really care for Koichi, actually I kinda dislike him for the most part outside the context of his dynamic with Jotaro (which IS pretty great but, that has way more to do with Jotaro than Koichi). I get the appeal of Koichi and I get why the idea of him is solid: He's the most boilerplate generic shonen jump protagonist imaginable who, instead of getting a giant robot or learning martial arts, is dragged kicking and screaming into bizarro bullshit battles with superpowered scammers and serial killers (plus way too many sexual predators, and Yukako just barely, barely avoids skirting that line), who's forced to grow and make due with seemingly useless abilities made strong through applied cleverness, and who winds up growing a spine.
He adds a splash of color to Part 4 by highlighting the contrast between JoJo characters and regular shonen characters, and he adds to the fights he's in by having the kind of normal reactions to things that characters like Jotaro and Rohan don't have, which makes it satisfying when he's able to take on the bullshit on it's own terms. He's got a cool Stand, he has the most glaring and obvious character development in the series, and to his credit he gets a lot of genuinely impressive moments against Kira. I get the appeal of Koichi and why he's such a fan-favorite.
He just bores the shit out of me. Because, again, he really is about as boilerplate SJ protagonist as it gets, and I just find that kind of character grating and uninteresting and too obvious. He never really has anything interesting to say or add and is generally just the sounding board other wackier characters can bounce off of, with the attachment said characters have for him saying more about them than it does for Koichi. I hate his thing with Yukako, and I like the "Ed Edd n Eddy" thing he has with Josuke and Okuyasu in theory, but in practice, it usually just makes it so that he takes away from Josuke and Okuyasu's incredible chemistry and makes their scenes less funny than they could otherwise be (as proven by, every single time Araki ditched Koichi and had the two idiots hang out with fellow weirdos like Shigechi and Mikitaka). He just, he does nothing for me. Not to the point I dislike his scenes or episodes (well, save a couple of them) but, one of my less favorite side heroes for sure.
And I'm lumping this guy here because he has sound-based powers too and I don't feel like giving him a separate post
Anonymous asked: Bingo: Sandman/Soundman
Look, for the most part I generally always find the JoJo fandom's complaints of "Araki forgot" to be,
A: Proud ignorance in their own parts regarding stuff that Araki either actually did explain, sometimes more than he even needed to, or stuff that could naturally be inferred through the narrative, or even stuff that just doesn't matter and/or borders on "Twitter opinions on Batman's money" level of pedantic disengaging with the text or characterization Or B: Scrapped / retconned ideas that would have been unfeasible to work with long-term, ditched for the sake of telling a better story, like Stands being related to Hamon or Giorno's game-breaking damage reflection power that Araki wisely ignored the fuck out of and never brought up again (Giorno already got a ton of complaints for being overpowered even without it) Or C: Things that didn't live up to the headcanon / fanfic version of the premise that exists entirely in their heads and this somehow becomes an objective problem with the writing, which is why you get people saying "Araki forgot" things like the invisible baby (who was totally always gonna be the next JoJo, you guys) or Giorno not showing up in Part 6 (who was gonna do, what, exactly? Use GER to beat Pucci and ruin the story?)
Not that there's not a lot of things to talk about in terms of execution or planning or stuff that Araki planned poorly or didn't plan at all or, yes, did forget but, for the most part these discussions tend to be brutally obnoxious and not worth it.
That being said,
I just cannot think of another explanation as to what the hell happened with Sandman / Soundman other than just, Araki decided quick enough that the character he dramatically opened Steel Ball Run with, who got quite a bit of narrative focus in the early stages of the race, and who had pretty dramatically gripping reasons for partaking in the race as well as some mysterious implied powers being built up, was just gonna drop out of the story and resurface as a grunt for Valentine and then killed off. I guess it's not so much "Araki forgot" as "Araki stopped caring real quick", which is how it is with like 60% of all the crap people say he forgot
I mean, not that Steel Ball Run didn't turn out incredible after that rocky start, and I guess nowadays I'm not exactly super anxious to see how Araki would have tackled a Native American character (probably better than just about any other mangaka author would but still abysmally) but...man, what a letdown.
SICK Stand design, though. In the top for sure.

My Experiences with Lovesickmocha (That I remember)
TW: Mentions of Se/lf Ha/rm, Sc/at and Gro/oming
I just... need to get this all out of my head.
I first heard of him via his fics on AO3, and at first, I didn’t judge him. I thought it wouldn’t be fair, as I write transformation stuff. So I, in all my dumb trust, left a comment on one of his fics, think it was the MAG Hank one, and got a response
Now, this was back when I didn’t know what he did, and I thought all hate on him was undeserved (I don’t think that now), and I thought I could become friends with him, because I have garbage trust.
So, eventually, he shared his curiouscat, and while I don’t have any images of my responses, I do know that I led him to someone on here’s blog (I don’t want to name the person because haha funny anxiety go brrr), and it led to him revealing his self harm account to the public
I was horribly distraught when I saw it, and thought I was the cause of it, which led to me going into a depressive episode. But you know what? I still tried to become friends with him. I let myself keep stalking his twitters, I let myself see all the scat stuff he posted and retweeted.
And then, I learnt the truth behind him. I’m sure we all know who he really is by now, but for those who don’t... here’s a twitter archiving some of his garbage
So he vanished, and tried to come back a few times, and I thought that was that...
Until I got this lovely comment on one of my fanfics with Church and Jorge
(Please note: He actually commented on two of them, but I no longer have that comment as I deleted it for my own mental health)
Naturally, I almost had a damn panic attack and almost deleted all of my fanfics about the two. But I decided that doing so wouldn’t really be nice, deleting and hiding away all my hard work because of one guy.
(I wrote another fanfic with Church and Jorge to calm my nerves after seeing his comments on my fics, but he commented on that too and I almost had a panic attack again.)
So, with his return, came none other... than his Divine Vision
It’s dumb. It’s so, so dumb. He made a whole ass fake bible to justify himself being a groomer and to wish harm on the ACTUAL people he hurt.
So, eventually, he purged all of his AO3 minus his divine vision (which too was deleted after a bit), but someone I can’t really remember the name of, think it was JecraWritesStuff or something along those lines, made some kind of positive message to him. At first, I thought he didn’t know Mocha was a groomer, so I left a comment on there, only for it to get deleted. I think Jecra knows but does not care.
Then, all his stuff was deleted minus his neocities, and I thought that was that.
Buuut it’s not. Because of-fucking-course that little coffee bitch has to still be prowling the internet
His eka’s portal account is lotusjudge, his VRChat username is currently stormblazing (He goes by the same username on steam), AND he has the audacity to open a patreon. I believe this is JecraWritesStuff’s twitter, so you can block him there. I also think he’s dating him too, even after all of the shit Mocha did, AND might of lied about being traumatized by him.
#vent#madness combat#madcom#lovesickmocha#talking#finally. i got this all out of my head.#time to do things i ACTUALLY like now.#ok to reblog
