Elze'ith's face softens. His movements are flowing and easy as he writes. "I cherish all of my memories with Altair. He is the most wonderful person I have ever met. But I remember the first time we ever sang together. You see, Altair was very closed-off when he first met. It was understandable, considering everything he went through. But I was always very worried about him as I helped get him back on his feet. One evening I was singing quietly to myself as we prepared dinner. And before I realized it, he-" and Elze'ith smiles, "joined in. It was the first time he ever let his guard down around me. His first show of trust. And his voice was beautiful. He was beautiful. We sang together as dinner cooked, and I had never felt so happy."

His grip on his pen tightens, and his hand starts to shake. "My worst memory is whipping him. I have never wanted to hurt him. And yet I did. I am still so afraid of the anger that I felt that day. I do not know how he can ever forgive me. I certainly will never forgive myself for it."

A small smile crosses Altair's face. "Man, I don't even know how to pick. But if I had to chose... There was a night this past summer. It was clear, and warm. We found a spot on a hill, and just laid in the grass and looked in the stars. Elze'ith spent hours talking about all of the different constellations, and the legends about the power in the night sky, and why people wish on shooting stars. I-" he swallows thickly. "I always love hearing him talk about stuff like that. We were up until the sun rose, and it was beautiful. He was beautiful. I just remember being so happy, and so in love." His voice grows quiet. "I miss nights like that."

He wraps his arms around himself protectively, and his wings pull tight against his back. "I- my worst memory of him is- is watching him be raped. I knew it was happening, but seeing it was... I never want to see him like that again. It was absolutely horrific."
