Am I going crazy when I say El has never seen Will and Mike be... WillandMike?

In s1 El and Will missed each other entirely. When he came back, El got trapped in the upside down instead and s2 was the same thing - Will and Mike worked together as duo for most of the season and El was off doing her own thing.

In s3 we learn that El barely spends time with the rest of the party and she only connected with max after the whole ordeal about Mike's nana (which happened months after the ending of season 2), so El and Mike spent all of their days together completely alone at her cabin or actively ignoring and ditching the party during group hangouts

We don't actually know what happened during the time skip from the battle of starcourt to the byers move, but I don't think it's a stretch to say Mike and Will's friendship was still off (especially because of their infamous fight and "it's not my fault you don't like girls")

In s4 we know El and Will finally got to properly know each other - they're family now, not only acquaintances with a connection to the supernatural - but when Mike arrived in Lenora... well, the airport and rink o'mania scenes speak for themselves. They were being weird and El was obviously too preoccupied with her own issues to actually do or say something about it

But El's not stupid... so do we think if she had seen how Mike and Will act around each other, she would've known?

She's really perceptive and her upbringing being so disconnected from society also means she doesn't see the world through straight and heteronormative lenses...

I’m thinking about Solas sitting next to an elven girl he doesn’t know, making sure she regains consciousness. Taking care of her, he notices a mark on her hand, an energy far too familiar, almost as if it came from his orb. And now she’s fighting for her life, remaining unconscious for days after physically passing through the Fade, what they say. He didn’t see it happen, but he has to believe it.

He must have recognized the energy of the orb from the very beginning, he knew what the Breach was from the start. He knew the orb was with Corypheus. From the very beginning. But.

He couldn’t have known why the divine mark of his people’s power ended up in the hands of this poor girl who had been to the Fade. Did he wonder if she was part of the Fade’s power, something even he didn’t understand? Did he consider the possibility that she was a spirit taking physical form, stepping into the world like he once did?

I think about how not knowing must have been an enormous trigger for Solas. He must have been burning with questions while Lavellan slept. And I can’t help but romanticize the idea that, in his mind, he crafted a story where she was a spirit, one that bent the very nature of the Fade to her will, creating an artifact of her own, like his orb, but something else entirely. But the ritual of her manifestation, her divine force, was interrupted, and she was simply thrown out of the Fade.

And I love that having someone else, someone even slightly like him, made his time in the camp a little easier… more comfortable? And then she wakes up, she runs, and he sees her - fighting, fearless - and he wonders how so much power can exist in such a fragile body.

And then he grabs her wrist, reaches for the Breach alongside her. They are united in this movement, as if they were one whole. And the way he does it, it’s so instinctive, like he’s been waiting for this moment all along and just couldn’t hold back anymore.

And imagine if he expected this gesture to mean something to her. What if he had already built an image of her in his mind, imagining an elf who, against all odds, crossed time, the Fade, and the very essence of existence itself? But she doesn’t understand. She asks him what he’s doing. And he is completely stunned.

"I did nothing."

She looks at her hand as if it belongs to someone else and immediately turns to him for answers, despite not even knowing who he is. And this changes his entire perception of her, raising even more questions, even more interest, leading to the cherished vhenan on a half-exhale, half-whisper, half-yearning, half-pain, but full of love against all odds💚

Tomorrow my partner and I are committing to a difficult decision concerning our fifteen year old dog. being a mclaren/landoscar fan over the course of this season has tested my emotional capabilities like no other because it started out as "sunshine and giggles and heart eyes and young team with future wdc with so much talent and osc and HEART EYES" and "yay look! p4, p3, p2 we're actually good this year"

Do you ever think about how one of the most emphasized elements of Zexion's character is that he does NOT like doing things himself? Multiple journal entries and multiple moments in Chain of Memories to let us know that he can and will make someone else do things he doesn't want to deal with. And then he goes to try to take out Riku by himself.

It could have been pride, and I bet a little of it was that. Zexion is displayed with a lot of it- Riku not dying when Zexion expected sent him into an entire breakdown. He might have thought there was no way he could have failed.

But Zexion also shows that he knows when to retreat and, crucially, here's where the first point comes in- he does not like proving himself. That's Vexen (and Zexion knows it and manipulates it to get Vexen to do certain things for him).

The Chain of Memories journal entry says Zexion was forced into action thanks to the demise of Vexen and Lexaeus, but... no he wasn't. Riku didn't know he existed and everyone else was off the radar, he wasn't in active danger. It would have been so easy and the smart decision to retreat and regroup, and I think Zexion has a certain balance of obedience and self-assuredness that would have allowed him to go back to the Castle expecting Xemnas to understand why he retreated. The operation is in shambles. It's only Zexion and Axel left, Sora's disappeared, Naminé's run off, and Riku and Repliku are still fucking around upstairs. He could try to salvage what he could and take out Riku, or he could leave Oblivion in tatters like Axel was clearly going to and make someone else deal with it (tbh because of how things played out I actually think Riku would have been worse off without Zexion doing what he did. that dire moment is when Riku had his breakthrough moment). I think the latter option would have been more in character-

IF NOT FOR THE FACT THAT AS FAR AS ZEXION WAS AWARE, RIKU WAS THE ONE WHO KILLED LEXAEUS

We don't even know how Zexion "felt" about Lexaeus's death since Axel came in like immediately and Zexion refuses to let his peers know he has facial expressions and honestly an analysis of Zexion and Lexaeus's relationship would be too long but Lexaeus cares about him and in some strange way, Zexion cares back. And Lexaeus lost. And Riku was the one who did it. And... was the level of psychological torment Zexion put Riku through really necessary for killing him?

The most fucked up thing about this interpretation is that it means Zexion's final decisions were guided not just by emotion, but by emotion felt for someone else. and it killed him
