unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

Honestly, I love it when characters relapse. When someone who’s gotten over their anger issues falls into a situation so out of their depth they fall back on their old habits. When someone who’s learned to open up becomes a recluse again in order to cope with something outside their control.

There’s just something so horrible, so toxic, about watching a character grow and then slip back into their old selves in order to cope, bc you know they still care, that they’re the same inside, but watching them hurt so hard they don’t know what else to do brings a sense of catharsis.

It's so funny how we were both like "I'm probably non binary but I have a job so I don't care about that rn" and then we got together, talked about gender and stuff, both realised it meant nothing to us and absolutely nothing changed except for the fact we now have this understanding that we're just two people who love eachother without feeling the need to conform to any sort of norm with how we dress, act or treat eachother.

#tbf i'd hardly call myself non binary even though i technically fit the definition since i don't identify with my agab #but like. i didn't change anything about my presentation since it's hardly fem or masc just very normal (t shirt/hoodie and shorts/jeans #i don't care what pronouns people call me by. usually irl it's aligned with my agab but online i've had many people use the opposite for me #and it feels the same #i write they/them if there's like a space for it or someone asks in English but my primary language doesn't have neutral pronouns so...#what now? also my country is a lot less accepting/aware of trans people than anglophone countries #so yeah those are the reason i don't really identify myself as trans at least in front of people since... i haven't transed anything i just #like gave up on the concept of gender #and of course i'm not completely free of it cause we live in a society and stuff but yeah. i wish i was #aaaaanyways.#this space is a safe space for lgbtqia folks btw and terfs fuck off #eep.txt #agender #gendervoid #being called a good boy is the same as being called a good girl to me. same master/mistress. lord/lady

after i dropped out of high school i found a torrent of like 5GB of OCRd romance novels and i read like 3 romance novels a day for a while

read enough romance novels and you will realize that they live or die entirely on technical skill. if you are new to romance novels then even bad ones can dazzle you with novelty but by the time you are on your 30th historical fake engagement between a bluestocking and a rakish duke you can grade them and you know when they've failed. when two books have what should be the same main characters hitting the same plot beats, but one of those books is delightful and the other fucking sucks, you learn some things. some books are bad and still delightful. other books are good but they just don't hit. you start to see the seams in the bad ones. 'oh, this is a weird out of character moment because she wanted to have the kabedon moment and didn't know how to get there'. 'she didn't want the ust to end but couldn't think of a better reason than this deus ex cockblock.' that kind of thing.

you could probably do this with other genres but i like romance because the plot is two people fall in love. that's it. everything else is set dressing. if you can figure out how to make that work you can carry it over into whatever other genre you feel like. mysteries would give you a different skillset around plotting that i don't have.

anyway after that i wrote a lot.
