i’m in the process of getting an autism diagnosis - multiple professionals have said ‘yup! you’re definitely autistic’ and i’ve been in the process of getting a diagnosis for two years. i know i’m autistic

How was one meant to ask their housemate out on a date? Normally living together was a step taken sometime after a romantic relationship became serious. What was one meant to do when they’d moved in with a friend before later realizing there were more than solely friendly feelings there? If they didn’t live together, the fear of making things awkward would’ve been less intense… probably anyway. But as it was, if their friendship grew awkward as a result of Buddy’s confession so would their living situation.

Buddy could just let it go and was tempted to. Romance was nice but not strictly needed. They were happy to just be friends. But… what if Filbo reciprocated? Then Buddy would just be sitting on their feelings for no reason the way Snorpy had been. Which would be lame and so…Buddy eventually found themself talking to Beffica about it over text.

‘Don’t be weird about it and just tell him you like him.’ she sent in reply to their long thought out paragraph explaining their problem.

‘Duh.’ That’s the exact thing they were trying to avoid. ‘How do I not make it weird?’

‘Say you like him romantically and/or ask him out on a date. Make extra super sure he knows it a date though. Don’t wanna pull another Snorpy.’

‘If he doesn’t feel the same, it’ll awkward living with him after.’

This time her reply took a while before coming in. ‘Maybe, idk. I think he likes you though. So don’t worry about it.’

‘Why do you think he likes me?’

‘What does that mean?’

‘Just talk to him, tell him how you feel. Trust me.’

Buddy would trust her with their life so it should be easy to trust her here too but… what if she was wrong? She was smart sure and good at figuring out people’s secrets. But she could easily be misreading whatever it was that had made her think Filbo might reciprocate Buddy’s feelings. Or maybe she was just trying to mess with them by pretending she knew something when she didn’t. Perhaps a method to get them to just confess as that was likely the smartest thing to do. And so they probably should just confess, huh?

At the same time, elsewhere in the house

Filbo’s hope that his crush on Buddy would fade grew more and more fragile every day they lived together. It was supposed to have been just a stress thing from Snaxtooth but they lived together now and Filbo was basically in love.

Maybe ‘love’ was a bit of a strong word. But the evenings spent hanging out casually with Buddy, sometimes doing something together, other times just existing in the same space doing their own things, were warm and comfy in a way Filbo had never experience before. It was different than hanging out with the rest of the group. Not necessarily more special or fun just different in a way that he couldn’t explain to save his life. He wanted to do it more and he wanted to touch Buddy, cuddle, maybe even kiss or maybe, in his dreams, a bit more than just kissing.

They were housemates though. Meaning if Flibo confessed any of these thoughts of feelings and Buddy didn’t return them, their friendship and living situation would be awkward. The absolute last thing Filbo wanted. But he wanted more so bad.

Normally his go to person for advice was Buddy, who obviously couldn’t be consulted on this, leaving him bereft of ideas. He couldn’t just continue to ignore it though… could he? Ultimately he ended up pulling out his personal phone and scrolling through his contacts. … Beffica naturally was at the top of the list. They got along much better these days – even if she still wasn’t Filbo’s favorite of the friend group – and she was good with people, right? She wrote about them all the time. Thus she’d at least have some idea what he should do, right?

‘i think im in love with buddy what do i do?’ he sent.

The reply took long enough to make him almost regret this decision. ‘OMG! Really?’

‘yes please help your good with people right?’

‘Have you tried talking?’

‘no should i?’

‘Yeah, dumdum. Don’t be like Snorpy and Chandlo. Or do be like them. It would be funny if it happened twice in the same friend group.’

‘what if they don’t like me back though?’

‘Don’t worry about that. Talk to them.’

‘how can i not worry?’ Worrying was like Filbo’s thing.

♡ the weather starts getting worse every day because of malleus's state and of course, many people are starting to get tired of all these dark clouds and thunderstorms. but it's not like they can do much to stop him. he's mad, he's jealous, he's so afraid of losing you. you just want to go back to your world as soon as possible because you miss your partner so much, right? you don't care about malleus, you're gonna leave him just like everyone does. he had hope, he really thought that you're special, that he finally found a friend, maybe he even found the love of his life.. but he was wrong.

I was finally able to watch the new SH2 Remake trailer and I want to shout my thoughts into the void. Overall I’m really looking forward to playing this when it comes out!!

The good:

-boy am I glad that James voice isn’t as deep as it was in the first trailer. It’s closer to the original character now and I’m relieved

-the hospital looks so good 😭

-minor detail but I like that they display your location at the bottom of the screen now because navigating those streets could be such a pain in the ass sometimes lol.

-I like how they did the fog! I think the developers did a good job of updating the look but still managing to make you feel claustrophobic even though you’re outside

-the combat is modernized, and I’m happy it doesn’t feel like James is like a military expert who’s super adept in combat. He still feels like a regular dude to me.

-I love that James and Maria will have more commentary/conversations while they explore!!

The concerns:

-I really don’t understand why the recent silent hill games have this obsession with making the other world have this red, gritty look like in SH5 or the movies. James otherworld is very specific to him; it’s dark, dingy, depressing and bleak. It very much reflects his state of mind. From the tiny bits they showed, it doesn’t look like the original and that’s concerning. I don’t want to write off the whole thing because I don’t know if that’s how it will look when it’s released; there’s still a lot we haven’t seen. But I am side eying it a little.

-Angela looks so weird? It’s so strange because all the other characters look pretty decent, but she just looks so…off. Also her voice. I’m on the fence about it because on one hand, she sounds like a teenager who is socially awkward and very distant. But the original was off putting because even though she sounded older, she also had this baby-ish tone to the way she spoke that made talking to her really uncomfortable. So idk. I hope they update her face to be at the same quality as the rest of the cast. Love that they kept her outfit the same though.

-why does Laura look/sound older than an 8-year-old?? Idk if it’s just me but it’s so weird because her face looks super similar to Kathryn Newtons, who’s in her late 20s, and yet she has the body of a child. She also sounds way less bratty and more shy than the original. I’m guessing that’s because the devs don’t want everyone to hate a little girl, but I mean…some kids are just bratty irl, and it made her feel more like a real child. The scene where she locks James in the room with the flesh lips felt like a really abrupt switch from how she was acting before.

-Maria’s outfit? Look normally I’m all for giving female characters in remakes more appropriate attire for their situations (cough, Ada Wong), but Maria is very specifically meant to be hyper sexualized, and it’s not for no reason. hello everynyan, date update for those who care abt my silly little dating life lol:

Sooo uhh it was interesting, the day leading up to this my friend was having a bad time at home and asked to stay the night. i was like ofc sure, he's met her before and they were cool and also she will probably be gone before he gets there anyways. i was scared abt my dog bc he doesn't like new people and sometimes growls at ppl if they pet him weird or approach him wrong. i try to warn everyone of this but i don't know how best to explain what to do and not do. and my dog is half pitbull half lab so he's big and a bit intimidating for ppl that don't have bigger dogs.

also he growled at my friend the night before. so i was like. im going to give him sooo much dog cbd, patchy plsss dont ruin this for me. He was fine but i was anxious when i woke up at like 7am to walk him. i get a text at 7:30 from tresspassing dude that he's on his way. and I'm like WYM ON YOUR WAY... THATS SO EARLY. i then wake up my friend to let her know whats going on. she was there with us for like 2.5 before leaving and i was scared it'd be awkward but tbh it was good. she helps cut the initial anxiety bc she's a yapper (lovingly) and i can yap with ppl i know well but I'm more of a listener. trespassing dude (his names andrew) is also more of a listener. so we both are just quiet a lot. so she helped getting both of us talking bc sometimes that is an issue.

We started baking, doing prep stuff. we leave the bread to rise, go on a little walk around my neighborhood to see this house with a chicken coop. We then see some squirrels and im like "oh two of em, cute" and andrew was like, "oh no theres three, one behind that car." and he points but I can't see over it. im 5'0/153cm hes 5'9/175 then is like "wait.. no you can't see that" and I'm like, "ah yea thats ok! i believe you theres one there" and then he offer to pick me up so i can see it. and I'm mentally like.... OH and i agree ofc and at that point my friend is like.. wow this corner is so interesting, imma look over here. and he picks me up. tbh i was not looking at the squirrel i was just thinking "wow, this is not a thing this guy would offer platonically" like idk how to describe him but he's quiet and withdrawn and not the type to just be like "i will pick u up" to friends. i have friends and know ppl like that, this guy is Not One Of them. So that ends and I'm like, cool thanks! and then my friend is like, okay its about time to take my leave and parts ways.

Then we finish baking and grill some meat for sandwiches. This entire time we're in the kitchen he is washing like every single dish. i did not have to ask once, he just kinda did it. And i was impressed. bare minimum ik, but i was daydreaming beforehand like "aww this will be so cute. I'll be washing dishes and then handing them to him to dry c: so domestic" but nope, he beat me to it, roles reversed. which was such a nice surprise as he like rarely takes the initiative for stuff. its gotten better but idk the way he was when we first met is still etched in my brain.

So we do that, finish up and chill for a bit. i showed him my sketchbooks and there was this one hand study i showed him and he's like. "oh my pinkys are fucked up" and they are. they're like bend in, i noticed this before but didn't say anything bc it felt odd to comment on. and then before long hes like it feels odd so I'm like.. can i feel it? and yea. then i had him feel what mine are like and ... gay ppl and their hands. there was a lot of little like casual touching and brush of hands. like normally if i like handed him something or like sat by him we would like not touch, it was so sterile. it drove all my friends insaneeeee. but finally it was different this time which was so nice.

Afterwards we go bouldering at this park by my house and I've been there before but I'm a bit out of shape since the last time i went. It happens, but I didn't realize it til we start climbing and I'm like. oh fuck this may have been a mistake. We also took a harder route to the top by accident. There was this one little mini cave he found and i couldn't make it up bc i just didnt have the flexibility to get my leg on the foot hold to get up. nor do i have the upper body strength to pull myself up as my arms are weak as hell. And he called like "where are you!?" and i was like "oh you go on and explore and then meet me back down here, i can't get up, my legs won't reach the foot hold" and he got down and was like "nah I'll pull you up" and i was like... No You Will Not. bc i have issues and I haaaaate asking for help. Also he's like strong I'm sure. i know he does work out a lot but he has a pretty small frame and i was like... worried. Last thing i wanted was for both of us to get hurt bc of me. Like I'd kms.

But he insisted so i took his help and it was cool. I'm very glad he did that. there was another instance where i was going down a rock and slipped and he went down first and like, i would not have gotten hurt. it was just mentally scary but if i landed hard it still would have been fine. but as i sloped i yelled like "SHIT" and next thing i know he's on top of me bear hug so i dont fall which was soooooo embarrassing omg but also very nice. i apologized profusely bc... as i mentioned. i got problems with taking help. hyper independence is real. There were a few more instances where he offered to help me and i declined and i hope it did not come across harshly, it honestly might have. and he was just being kind however i just HATE accepting help. I know... its bad. i will continue to work on it.

We look around, saw some really cool stuff. Had a few more little close moments which i will skip for brevity bc this is already Sooo long.

i debriefed with the friend who was at my house and say the first 2 hrs and she was like.... oh yea he definitely likes you. And as soon as he got home he told everyone on our discord that we made bread together. To me it looked like the nerd equivalent of a ig soft launch story. So... yea :D

Finally we get back home and its like 5pm. i fully expected him to like stay for 10 min, get some water and be like, lol its late i gotta dip. Which i would Not have been mad abt. he was at my place since 8am. this was the longest we've hung out before. But nope he lingered for an hour more. like we really did not have any reason to stay. We were just talking abt nothing rlly on my couch and like slowly getting closer, like i remember it now and it was the Perfect chance to be like "hey i like you" or do Something. but there was already soooo much progress and i was like, sage lets not get greedy. final win though was he asked me to go to a concert with him of a band we both like and its so funny.

bc i saw they announced their tour like 2 weeks ago and thought, aww it'd be nice if we went to together but i really didn't want to have to ask. I'm always scared of being too much and being a "clingy desperate woman" to a guy who doesn't like her. this has happened before. its been years, i should be over it but I'm not. that wound isnt healed but I'm working on it. And thankfully he brought it up and asked me to go. And that concerts like next year so like... thats a really nice sign. and yea. it was just rlly good. I'm happy. still kicking myself for not doing a little more but it was A Lot of Progress for me regardless and I do think our chemistry will only continue to deepen so I'm optimistic.

Sins of the Father

WHAT a quest!! I've already played through the Myreque questline in RS3, but I really enjoyed the OSRS take on this quest. (spoilers for the Myreque/Vampyre questline in both OSRS and RS3 below the readmore)

I think it has my favorite characterization of the Player Character out of all the OSRS quests I've played so far. Normally, PC personality ends up either very reactive (they sort of blandly respond to the situation at hand) or going to uhhh extremes (Lunar Diplomacy pirate ship scene, my beloathed), but this quest found a nice balance where the PC is perhaps a bit too jokey in the face of darkness and danger, but it feels like a purposeful response to stress by lightening the mood, rather than obnoxious as it sometimes falls in other quests. It's more like a part of their personality, rather than the devs just throwing something in because they think it's funny or want to make a reference. Subjectively, I found this character much closer to how I imagine my PC (ik ik, that's not universal, hence subjectively). Also, it fits with the other quest characters, where Safalaan has a similar sense of humor and the PC's lightheartedness helps him deal with all of the unpleasant personal realizations he goes through during the quest.

Speaking of my guy Safalaan, loved his characterization as well, and his growing friendship with the PC. The conversations they have in the lab and before the final boss while looking over the drowned ruins of (presumably) the Everlight: 👌👌. They just felt so satisfying! We get to share our fears and stuff! I felt good feels! Good characterization!

Vanescula was a queen, as always, and Ivan felt more like a Real Boy in this iteration of the questline than in the RS3 version. Loved the team banter and the wary enemy-mine relationship between the Myreque and Vanescula. I thought that the tension between Veliaf, Safalaan, and Vanescula was really well done, and how each of the minor Myreque members have their own unique opinions and reasoning about the plan and Vanescula herself.

Also, I think this is unintentionally comedic, but I love that you can go up to the Vyrewatch in full combat kit + weapons specifically meant for killing vampyres, with which you have already killed a powerful vampyre and say "Send me to the mines!" and they just think you're really weird and do it. Like, the fight with Ranis was not private, there was an entire crowd there. Zero braincells on those guys.

There isn't much player dialogue choice in it (you know, the ones where the dialogue choice doesn't do anything mechanically, but results in some branching dialogue where the NPC's dialogue reacts to the PC's personality), but I did like the one where you can choose whether or not to call Veliaf out on his callousness towards Slepe because there are a bunch of Zamorakians there. I don't play my PC as Zamorakian, but they are Guthixian and they don't hate Zamorakians by default, so it was nice to be able to play into that.

I do wish we'd gotten a little more resolution about Slepe. I know there's more stuff going on there with an underground boss and stuff that I haven't done yet, but I think it could have used a quest of its own or maybe a short/medium follow-up.

(We won't talk about the month of Slayer grinding I had to do before I could kill Vanstrom. He hurts, and I am not an experienced PvMer.)

I think my hope for the finale of this questline (idk if we'll be getting one or two more quests in this series, it could go either way honestly), is that it does a couple of things:

Lord Drakan as the final final boss. tbh I found River of Blood (RS3) to be kind of an awkward finale, because Drakan is built up to be this terrible, extremely powerful enemy, but then you kick his ass in the penultimate quest and fight... mutated Safalaan as the final boss of the questline instead. Weird. I'd also accept Vanescula as the final final boss, as long as she survives it and we get to discuss the truce afterwards. She deserves it.

Ivan coming into his own legacy and playing a key role. In RS3 he doesn't get to do much in the last few quests in the series, which was a bit anticlimactic for him.

Give Safalaan A Break, Please. I guess they can turn him into a funky hybrid again, but please let me bonk him back into human shape and then let him take a nap. (he gives me such Ichigo-from-Bleach vibes, being a human+icyene+vampyre hybrid in River of Blood)

I want the Sunspear. I really like the lore of that weapon in RS3 and also how it implies that Efaritay is/was absolutely massive compared to humans.

@inkzectz idk if I should continue this, but here's a free trial of university professor x military recruiter. i opened the wiki so much i've learned so much. Forzen is canonly stupid, stubborn, and a compulsive liar

-Story begin-

Professor Tommy Coolatta, early as he normally is, watches as the new recruiter starts setting up his table by the entrance.  The previous one, a young man called Corporal Shepherd or something like that, got called back to the frontlines.  The new one is dressed in full military gear, something most of the students have probably never seen before.  His face has a nasty scar running over the left side of his face, and there’s a notable gap where his left eye should have been.  He notices Tommy staring and pulls an eyepatch over his eye, shooting the professor a glare.  Tommy, ever the oblivious one, decides to greet the man.

“Hello!”  Tommy smiles at the recruiter, holding his box of papers aside so the man can see him better.  “What’s your name?”

“Forzen.”  The man grunts, unfolding a chair and setting it by his little stand.  He takes a deep breath and stands up straight, looking Tommy in the eye.  He’s a little shorter than Tommy, although Tommy is abnormally tall.

“Well, hello Forzen!  I’m Dr Tommy Coolatta.  I take it that you’re the new recruiter here?”

Forzen sighs and glances away.  “...yeah.”

“Uhm…”  Tommy trails off, his smile turning a bit more awkward.  It’s hard to talk to somebody who doesn’t really respond.  “What, uh, squad are you part of?”

“Team-S Nice.  I’m the only one in it.”

“Oh, that’s cool!  You must be highly skilled to be in your own team.  Your boss must think highly of you.  What rank are you?”

“O-5.”  Forzen pauses.  “I’m a, uh, sergeant.”

“Alright!  I teach Biotechnological engineering in room 404, if you ever want to chat.”  Tommy waves.  “See you later, Sergeant Forzen of Team-S Nice!”

As Tommy walks away, he reflects on the conversation.  That was weird, wasn’t it?  What does “Team-S” even mean?  And what kind of name is Forzen?

He bumps into Professor Jason Bubby, who snarls out a curse.  Bubby had been holding a cup of hot coffee, and was now trying to get said coffee out of his shirt.  Tommy quickly apologizes and moves away.  Bubby didn’t like anyone, but that’s okay.  He’s going to retire soon.  Tommy still kind of liked the man, in a weird way.  Yeah, Bubby is rude and has very few redeeming qualities, but he’s a very efficient professor.  He’s so friendly with his husband, Dr Harold Coomer, that it gave Tommy whiplash the first time he saw them together.  Bubby lights up whenever he talks about Dr Coomer, even if the subject is gruesome.  Like that time Bubby went into detail about how Dr Coomer needed a colon replacement, and how Dr Coomer uses Biotech legs and forearms.

Tommy shows his school ID to the guard at the door, who lets him in with a disinterested hello (what was his name again?  Barrey?  Bourey?  Oh, right, Barney.  Officer Calhoun).  Tommy gives Officer Calhoun a quiet hello back, then waves as he sees another guard following a fellow science professor.

“Hello, Mr Freeman!”  Tommy calls over.  “Hello, Officer Benrey.”

Professor Gordon Freeman and Officer Benji Reymond wave back, calling a greeting.  Everybody shortens Benji Reymond’s name to Benrey, the first three letters of his first and last name smushed together.  Gordon, despite having a PhD, preferred going by Mr Freeman over Dr Freeman.  He says Dr Freeman makes him feel old, which he’s not, he’s only 27.  Benrey… well, nobody knows exactly how old he is, or if he’s human.  He doesn’t really act human sometimes.  Dr Coomer is 69, and potentially has minor dementia.  Bubby doesn’t tell anyone his age, sarcastically saying a very wrong answer when he’s asked, such as 6, 420, and newborn.  Tommy thinks that he’s about 60 or so.

“Hey Tommy!”  Gordon calls, walking over.  “Did you see the new recruiter?”

“I did, yeah!  I met Sergeant Forzen just a moment ago.  Do you think he’ll be around for the whole semester?”

“Yeah.”  Benrey leans against their partner.  He grins, smiling with a mouthful of sharpened teeth.  “He had to fill out a form saying how long he planned on staying, since he requested room and board.”

“He looks kind of like you.”  Tommy notes, peering under Benrey’s helmet.

“Huh?  What’d you mean?  I don’t look anything like him.”  Benrey blinks slowly.  Benrey has always looked a bit sickly with his grayish skin and yellow-tinted eyes.  That shade over his eyes… Tommy had assumed that it was because of his helmet, but his helmet is tucked under his arm at the moment.  His hair looks like the color at the bottom of a bottomless pit, matching the shadow over his eyes.  Tommy supposes he shouldn’t judge Benrey.  After all, he isn’t exactly fully human either.

“I mean, he sounds like you and kind of acts like you.”  Tommy corrects himself.  If this were a game, Benrey and Forzen would probably have the same voice actor.

“That doesn’t mean anything though?”  Benrey stares at Tommy.  “I- uh, does he have his, uh… passport?”

“WHAT.”  Gordon butts in, his mouth dropping open.  “Why would he have his passport??”

“It’s a, uh, rule.  Gotta have your passport.”  That was true, actually.  All staff members needed to bring their passport.  It’s a new rule.  Good thing Tommy brought his, although it seems that Gordon didn’t.

“Why the F-”

Tommy leaves them to their bickering, instead choosing to continue his way to room 404.  It’s upstairs, in one of the smallest classrooms.  The dean had told Tommy that he didn’t need a bigger room, because of how niche his class is.  Tommy passes Bubby’s class, already starting to fill up, then Gordon’s class (which only has a sleep-deprived looking young adult drawing at one of the tables).  He goes up the stairs, pausing only to grab a soda from the vending machine.  He greets former students as he passes them.

After Tommy’s class, he heads for the library.  He needs to print out some papers, and that’s the most convenient place.  Yeah, he could go to the computer lab, but that’s in the furthest building.  The library is just one building over, in the English department.  He waves hello to Forzen again just as a snowflake hits his nose.  The forecast had called for snow, but Tommy had hoped it wouldn’t start until 3, when his classes ended.

“Hello, Sergeant Forzen of Team-S Nice!”  Tommy calls over.  Forzen wrinkles his nose at Tommy, evidently not pleased by the name.

“What.”  Forzen spits out.  The sleep-deprived young adult looks up at the sound from where they were scanning over the papers that Forzen had laid out.  Tommy doesn’t recognize them.

“Aren’t you cold?”  Tommy stops by the stand.  He’s not exactly sure what to do.  Should he smile?  Say something more?  He settles for putting his hands in his pockets.

“Why do you care?”  Forzen gives Tommy a nasty look.  The young adult looks trapped, like they really want to leave but they don’t want to be rude.

“Because I’m a nice person.”  Tommy shoots back at Forzen, turning his attention to the young adult.  “Hello!  I haven’t seen you before.  I’m Dr Tommy Coolatta.  Are you a freshman?”

“I, uhm.  Yes…?  I’m… I go by a lot of names.  Maybe Fae?  No.  Uhm…”

Tommy takes pity on the young adult.  “How about Sam?”

“Oh, that works!”  Sam lights up.  Forzen scoffs.

“That’s the worst name I’ve ever heard.”

“Nobody asked you.”  Sam snaps, then immediately makes a face of regret.  They quickly excuse themself and hurry off, heading for the dorms.  Poor Sam.

“Why are you such an a-”  Tommy whips his head to Forzen.

“UGH, so annoying.”  Forzen interrupts.  Tommy pauses, mouth half-open.  He sputters out a few offended sounds as Forzen gets to his feet.  Forzen’s spine makes a popping noise, which Forzen pauses and grumbles about.  Tommy watches, flabbergasted, as Forzen casually strolls away.  Forzen pauses for a moment.

“Je ne t'aime pas, même si tu as un beau visage.”  Forzen shoots over his shoulder.

“What does that mean?”  Tommy, despite being fluent in multiple languages including Latin and Ancient Greek, never learned French.  He’s the leading edge in Musica Orationis, or as it’s commonly known at Black Mesa University, “Sweet Voice”.  Benrey often spoke with the strange musical bubbles.  Tommy had used some of the alien DNA the biology department had to make Sunkist, and Sunkist ended up speaking in only Sweet Voice.  This led to the idea that Sweet Voice isn’t actually a language at all, but is instead biological.

Forzen, of course, only flips Tommy off and continues walking.

okay so this is going to be a bit awkward and weird and I'm really sorry about that. I (19F) am a really big fan of a particular video game. I've played it a bunch, it's a bit dark so I tend not to talk about how much I like it in public because people get a bit weird about someone who is normally fairly optimistic and positive liking what I guess is technically a horror game.

anyway, a few months back, I made a friend on here (16M) who. well. I'm gonna call him G. we bonded a bit about liking the same TV show even if we're not in the same universe probably. (it's a GOOD SHOW, which isn't at all relevant to what I'm asking here but it IS.)

fast forward a bit. had a really rough night one time, my sister (29F) ended up chatting with G a bit to reassure him that I was doing better and mentioned the game that I was playing.

it was then that he informed both of us. that sometimes. fallers from fictional things happen. or things that seem fictional in one world might not be in another? idk, multiverse is weird.

but, uh. apparently my favorite character has in fact been a faller (?F) in some other version of my friend's region for??? months???

and like. it's cool to click over to her blog every few weeks or so and see what new shit she's up to, because she seems to be doing way better in the pokemon world than she did in the world that my favorite game is set in? but also it's deeply weird seeing this character who has kicked my ass on so, so many occasions as also just. a regular person, too.

obviously she's not the same person as the character in the game. we've never actually spoken but she seems nice and I would actually just straight up follow her, except that I'm borrowing my sister's account and when I brought this up to her she thought it might be an asshole move.

and. idk. on the one hand 90% of what I know about her IS stuff from the game or stuff extrapolated from it, but most of it seems to have been fairly accurate, and I'd like to know other stuff! she seems like a really cool person!

on the other hand, it feels. kinda creepy, for lack of a better word? to follow someone who I first knew from a video game?

(it's a really good video game. I'm not mentioning which video game here because that would probably draw unwanted attention to her blog and. I'm not sure if she knows she's a video game character in some worlds and I soooo do not want to be responsible for that existential crisis if she is.)

Somehow... One of the friends I hung out with yesterday was incredibly skinny. I mean, they both are, but in different ways, kind of. It has made me feel a little worse about myself and my weight.

During the last couple of weeks, somehow I managed to lose around 3kg. That doesn't make all that big of a difference on my body, but it's kind of weird, since I didn't really try to lose weight and mainly ate cookies and bread, which is obv very unhealthy. I'm thinking it's because maybe I just haven't been eating all that much? Or because I've been moving around a little more? Idk. I'm glad it's that way, but honestly, ideally, I'd keep losing weight. I'll try to, at least a little bit. I'll continue to work out and go for walks more often. The last part is often taken care of by meeting friends. I'll also try to opr for more healthy food options.

Idk... I've struggled with eating disorders in the past and of course I haven't completely gotten over them yet, but it's definitely pretty good rn. Of course I want it to stay that way, but seeing how skinny my friend was makes me feel so awkward and big and not good. He's like my living th1nsp0 ahahahahahah.

No but really, he's made my goal of being skinnier a little more clearer to me and I'm a little grateful. Being skinny is one way to feel better about myself and would help me feel less awkward in social situations. So I'll go for it and try my best to make my own life easier! Also, I just want to be able to wear any clothes I want without feeling bad at all. (On that note, that friend does have very nice taste in clothing, pretty grunge and pretty cool).

That being said, I'm not particularly fat. My BMI is in the normal range, but then again... I could weigh over 10kg more than I do and it would still tell me I was "normal". I think I want to lose 4 more kg and then I'd be on the very verge to underweight. Gosh, these bmi websites are so dramatic. Telling people with a bmi under 20 that they'll die if they go for a walk that's a minute too long.

I'll be able to do it if I go for walks, don't eat too much and exercise regularly. Just 4kg.

It's kind of unfair, even my friends of whom I know that they actually hate working out look so good (actually, only one comes to mind, but it's still so unfair). They seem to have more leg muscles than me and they hate running! But then again, they eat pretty healthily... Idk. I even get this feeling with my siblings sometimes. Gosh, having had eating disorders really messes with your brain. You acquire so many tactics and even if you've basically recovered, you still think about them and get happy when you remember after waking up that you just spent over 10 hours without food. I think about things like that constantly, but I won't go into detail since I don't want to promote these habits.

Soldier

Chemist has a teasing/antagonistic relationship with him, since he's The Definition of a hippy despite being a merc. Whenever soldier calls someone a dirty hippy he's just like 'what, you mean like meeee?' and soldier starts yelling at chemist. it's fine they're friends its like a cat purposely annoying a dog

Soldier has conflicted feelings about the artist- mostly because they're pretty quiet and timid and are scared of guns when they first get the job customizing them so soldier thinks they're a coward(true). But artist is always very respectful of soldiers totally real military rank so they're alright- this continues as artist comes out of their shell and gets more assertive and into weapons

informat doesn't spend much time interacting with the team honestly- he's just a contact of spy's not someone working for the administrator. That said he find's soldier's recklessness and genuine nature a breath of fresh air. Soldier is trying to teach him to rocket jump- but joey isn't hooked up to respawn so doesn't want to take the chance

Scout

scout reminds chemist of his younger brother- despite the pair being the same age- so he wants to give advice to scout. Scout, for his part, usually sees the advice as complete nonsense and doesn't understand why "looking like you're dying of the flu" would help him pick up chicks

him and artist get along pretty well! they sometimes hang out just to draw together. Artist is more than happy to let scout do all the talking, though they're fully capable of cutting in with a good joke now and then

I imagine poor jer had a bit of a crush on the informat when they first met. I think scout is into competent people and joey is very competent at their job. i don't think it lasted too long, but its sort of awkward for scout now.

Pyro

they smoke weed with chemist and sniper. best friend trio who hot box sniper's van

they make artist uneasy. They rely so much on facial expressions and even with how animated pyro is they have a hard time figuring out what they're feeling. It's an anxiety thing artist knows isn't fair to pin on pyro, but they can't really help it. They're working on it!

i dont imagine informat likes them. at least not at first. Pyro is a bit of an inverse of joey's specific Character Type that it's a sort of self recognition in the other kind of moment that joey isn't really equipped to handle. something about pyro wearing a physical mask but being so unabashedly themselves while joey wears metaphorical masks to the point they don't have any real clear sense of self left anymore

Engineer

i dont have much to say for chemist honestly. they're like. chill. idk maybe chemist annoys dell into cooking for him when he gets the munchies

Dell was introduced to this poor wet cat on the verge of tears who was scared of power drills and was forced into a job painting guns and went dammit I cant NOT help them figure out their damn job and they've been inseparable ever since. I imagine them in the crushing stage with dell dropping hints that he likes them and Monty being an idiot like 'haha its perfectly normal for friends to want to make out with their friends what do you mean you think i have a crush on dell???'

Engie doesn't trust joey much at first. he doesn't like the whole information field or how they seem to be always putting up a front. But that distrust waves as Joey slowly lets walls break down

Demoman

magic buddies! they hang out and talk about weird esoteric ideas about the universe and aliens and whatnot. good friends!

I dont really have much for the other two. I think he'd be good for building artists confidence and he'd probably get along well enough with joey but nothing specific jumps to mind

Heavy

for some reason i feel like heavy would adopt an older brother persona with chemist and try to get him to grow up a bit? i have no reasoning for this decision other than the fact that I like big bro heavy

he and artist trade book recommendations. heavy appreichiates the chance to practice his english and his literature degree at the same time

i think Joey's disguised but probing questions would set off alarm bells for heavy that make him shut down the conversation. probably best the two keep their distance lest joey find out something about heavy's family that heavy would rather him not know.

Spy

annoyed at the gross hippy tendancies of chemist. chemist doesn't like that spy works for the Maaan, man.

indifferent to each other. Spy feels a bit bad for them after getting curious and digging into their past and why they got shoved into merc duty.

he's professional partners with the informat. they run on a series of favors promised back and forth. they both have deep respect for the other and sometimes go out drinking together

Medic

on the one hand kind of offput by the human experimentation- on the other medic knows how to get lsd directly into the brain soooo

artist has a weird facsination with medic's work, even if you wouldn't guess that on the surface. medic enjoys having someone who's willing to listen to his ramblings about super baboon hearts or whatever

informat looked up everything he could find on medic after their first meeting. joey is very, Very scared of medic and what he's capable of doing while giggling like a school girl

Sniper

they like to drive into the desert and get stoned and look for ufos together. best friends!

you put two autistic people who are bad at starting conversations in a room together and see what happens. Absolutely nothing they never talk. Artist thinks sniper is scary cause they can't read his expressions and sniper is more than aware that artist is scared of him

artist can't really get over the idea of her as their boss. they like pauling enough but its a very professional relationship

informat has deep respect for all the shit pauling goes through. shes incredibly good at her job, even if her job sometimes makes his job harder.

Travis. For sure. He’s super into cars and tbh a lot of his cars are like gear head choices not just flashy cool things. He also invested in an F1 team which implies a genuine interest and some knowledge about yk cars. I also can’t see a world where their dad didn’t teach both him and Jason about how to look after/work on cars and overall like idk it seems like he’d be able to handle that pretty easily lol like relative to all the other people (tbf none of the other people would necessarily know what to do).

My cats are pretty self-sufficient so normally like a neighbor can just come feed them (and they have a self-feeder so it’s not an every day gig) and it’s totally fine. They also prefer to like go potty in the garden and have a cat door so you don’t even need to really change their litter. That said like all these people are very busy. So idk probably unironically if he was my neighbor and he wasn’t on tour at the time, then Matty? He likes cats and like if he’s not on tour he chills at home fucking around on the internet so I think he’d be pretty good at this. I would check my ring camera to make sure he actually did it obviously and if he wasn’t surfacing I’d try phone him/Gabby to try make sure they came. But I do think they’d be okay at that chore lol like because it’s super low stress. Otherwise, again if he was my neighbor and not on tour, probably Harry. He’d be more reliable than Matty imo but he has more shit going on so like it’d inconvenience him more I think.

Urgh I don’t know. Olivia Wilde in terms of getting good fashion advice I think but Saoirse in terms of like her street style is more similar to what I’d actually feel comfortable wearing. She has really weird taste sometimes tho so like idk we’d maybe give each other good advice or something? So yeah probably Saoirse. Olivia could be my rich big sister/cool young auntie who takes me shopping tho. That’d be fun.

I’d say Jack and Saoirse, together, because they’re the only ones NOT demonstrably bad at relationships tbh. Jack was with his ex for forever and then married Saoirse and Saoirse is still friends with George and married Jack and figured out Hozier is a bad idea quite quickly. They also have a very varied friend group and Jack’s parents are very happy together so they seem like they’d actually give good advice or at least advice worth considering.

Harry. He’s, by all accounts, great with kids and the kids in his life dig him. He also seems like he’d take it quite seriously idk. Otherwise Joe A because he babysat as a teenager and he’s also apparently good with kids. But I feel like Joe would feel more inconvenienced by it whereas Harry would be more excited. Also in this case Joe imo would be more unreliable because he’d commit to the babysitting and then take a job in Panama lol.

Phoebe, I think, because she seems like she parties in a similar way to me and we’d have fun. Like we can both get quite hectic but also are a bit weird and awkward lol.
