With the humanitarian crises across the globe, there are (very unfortunately) absolutely vile people who want to take advantage of these horrific circumstances to make a quick chunk of change.

This is very bad since often legitimately new users of Palestinians in need seeking assistance from tumblr who just don’t know the culture here (IE: don’t really get that it’s considered rude, bot-like behavior to send asks about donations) are lumped in with these scammers and get banned, treated like spam, etc.

I hope this post can help people here discern if this is going to a real person in need or just a slimy scammer.

Things to look out for

Very guilt tripping language. Typically things like in very big red letters saying to please don’t scroll past at the most tame to actively berating users or the person the ask was sent like having very graphic descriptions of violence and saying “you wouldn’t want that to happen to you, would it?” at worst. The use of guilt tripping language is very intentional to convey urgency to anyone who may scroll past it, and make them feel awful if they don't do something right this second.

Check the age of the blog. I’m one to talk with having just made this sideblog, but it’s common for scam blogs to reblog a bunch of random posts to appear legitimate and their only original post is the one calling for donations.

Check to see if the Go Fund Me has been vetted by blogs known to vet and verify the legitimacy of Go Fund Me campaigns on tumblr. There are a few users who are known to verify the legitimacy of campaigns of those in need through a pinned post. Make sure you use the exact spelling as often scammers will see the name of a legit campaign, but end up switching a letter, spelling differently, etc. to appear all the more "legitimate". These users are @/el-shab-hussein , @/nabulsi, @/ibtisams, @/palipunk. Some have stopped vetting for fundraisers, but it's always good to check through their lists.

If the Go Fund Me link redirects you to a PayPal, it's very likely a scam. PayPal offers it's services to a lot of countries, however, it does not offer it's services to those in Palestine, unfortunately, so if someone is using PayPal I would consider it a major red flag.

If Venmo or Cash App are mentioned as a way to donate or any Go Fund Me Links redirect to there, it is absolutely a scam. Those apps only work to users in the US (and in the UK for Cash App).

Of course I'm aware that there are sometimes legitimate campaigns that may be organized by a relative or a friend living elsewhere and take donations through some of these means. However, it can also be something very easy to lie about. With the sense of urgency a lot of these posts present, it can be difficult to deduce if someone is really in need or if it's a scammer. You are not a horrible person for being informed about a lot of scam tactics and scrolling past.

Just remember a very important rule of thumb when coming across posts or asks:

Pet donation scam explaination

Hi! I have many posts on my other blog that explain what a pet donation scam is but I'll go ahead and write another one over here that also explains it in case anyone wants a reminder about what it is and how it works. I'd suggest sharing this with your friends/followers even if they already know it so they can share it with their friends/followers and so on. I'll put it under a readmore.

tl;dr: A pet donation scam is when someone steals content off another site and spams asks to share their pinned pet post even though their account is only a few days old and has only a few posts. The blog usually disappears within a week but then you have another blog sending asks that has the same exact post but then has different images but their name is the same.

A pet donation scam is a scam that involves someone taking images/stories off a private vet bill aid group and then reposting it to tumblr as their own pet. The account does not explain that the images shown are not theirs; They will pass them off as their own and act as if the pet shown is one that's under their care. However, these accounts do not own anything their posting. Because they have stolen their content off another site.

Pet donation scammers like to reblog a few posts to look legit. Generally, as of recently, they'll share 100+ posts and use the Top Posts badge to look like an active user. However, a quick scroll through all those posts will usually show none of them are tagged and they all came from a trending tag or are trending posts. These accounts also are now sharing posts from accounts they follow in order to look more legitimate but don't let that deceive you. This is just another attempt to appear like their just your average tumblr blogger.

These scammers also will sent out asks that request private answers because they don't want anyone to see they sent the asks out to multiple other accounts. They'll tell you they don't want to be mistook as a bot/spammer even though they just spammed the askbox of people who share mutual aid posts and mutual aid links. If you search their ask in tumblr search, you'd likely see how many got the same thing. This tactic is why it's suggested not to send multiple asks to users to share your own aid post. Because sadly scammers have ruined it for others.

Another thing to keep in mind is that reverse image searching doesn't always work for trying to check the sources of a posts images for these scams. Since these images are stolen off a private facebook group, they won't show up in the public besides reblogs from users who mistook the scammer as a real account. This often may deceive others into assuming the scam account is legit if the images don't come up as being from somewhere else. They don't show up because their stolen off a private group so they are not easily accessible outside of it when searched.

Pet donation scammers also will lie to you to get your money. They will claim they'll pay you back yet if you find out their a scammer and ask for your money back the account will simply block you and move on to someone else. These scammers will never pay you back and they have no intentions of ever returning their money to anyone they stole from. You'll see it's a common phrase in their posts that they'll send you money back for helping them but that day never comes when they remake their blog and once more start their scam back up.

In closing, pet donation scams are unfortunately a common scam on tumblr and it's necessary to try and look up information if you got an ask that seems suspicious and is coming from a blog that's only a few days old and somehow found you if you are not a blog that a brand new account would find unless they saw you in a trending post notes or from a popular fandom tag.

So I did look into this, mostly because the state of the internet has forced my natural response to anything to be "don't believe it without evidence".

Since you didn't cite anything, I just did my own digging. It appears that this specific claim originates from a reddit thread. The OP cites this article as their main source. Ironically, a good chunk of the post is straight up copy-pasted. The website is Communications Today, which is apparently an Indian telecoms magazine, but I could not find much information on it at all about them that wasn't produced by them.

According to their own LinkedIn:

This publication appears to have some guest writers who have legit positions, however the specific AI article has no credited writer. This is questionable. Point is, I have doubts about the trustworthiness of this source to begin with, but there is clearly going to be some level of bias involved with its reporting. The article is pretty sensationalist anyway. This is how the media world works - outrage and fear sells.

This post also includes three examples. As someone who has written research based papers before, this is far from enough to prove anything.

To be clear, the AI I used was not sudowrite, which much of this discussion seems to centre around. The one I used (nor sudowrite itself apparently) don't use user input as training. This means that it responds to prompts and questions, but this doesn't actually teach it anything new permanently. Thus, me using it in this way has zero impact on its dataset and is certainly not feeding it. I also paid no money to use it. Your claim of me interacting with a chatbot somehow making AO3 action (can't find much in the way of evidence of this either by the way) harder also appears unfounded. If it did specifically scrape and train from AO3, then the damage is already done, so again my interaction with it would not mean anything to legal action.

GPT3 (which is what these bots use) have sourced data from the scope of all areas of the internet. It is not, as far as I can tell, any kind of specific targeting of AO3 as a training ground. The issue in this lies in the way this information is presented. "AI BOT SCANS AO3 TO STEAL YOUR FANFICS" stands out a little more than the alternative. AO3 even responded to the OP mirroring the fact that bots are everywhere, have been for a while, and they can't do much about it - not sure if this constitutes 'fighting AI programs' as you claim.

Look. I've been on tumblr a while. I've seen fear explode and spread like wildfire before (4chan incident, for example). I think it's a little misguided to mass panic (about something that has existed for years). The only evidence I could find was those three examples on reddit. I really don't think that equates to the chaos on this issue.

I'll also be clear that I'm not exactly an AI defender, and I dislike Elon Musk for many many reasons. I do think AI writing is a little more murky than AI generated images (certainly worthy of concern) because it's hard to prove much direct copying, especially in the case of Fanfiction which, by nature, involves existing IPs.

Does AI call into question a lot of potential societal problems? Yes. Is it straight up nefarious and evil? Nope, not in my opinion anyway.

That aside I also don't really care on a personal level. For me, writing is a hobby that I'm fortunate to be able to share with others. I also think there comes a point where the concept of artistic 'ownership' becomes asinine anyway, but that's a whole other debate.

I have been using my OWN existing fanfic summaries as a basis. I don't think I can really be accused of stealing my own work. And as I said, I don't see enough evidence to prove in anyway that these bots are directly ripping things from AO3 in the copyright sense (as in, content in tact enough that it could be traced to an original author).

These bot accounts trying to fish you into doing scam commissions are always having these over the topp compliments beforehand, that makes me laugh every time. Such a snake talk so intense, it's going into the scary territory.

I just block them. It won't make them go away, but... Meh... It feels good to me at the moment.

Then I ran into something different today.

I have no idea if it's a scam or not, cause this user hasn't asked for any private information, artwork or money at all.

They simply asked if I was new on the platform and I was like... "What? Not really."

"No fans? Have you tried looking for what people want?"

"Dude, I don't know and I'm not looking. I just do it for my fun. Thanks anyway."

As if my last message never appeared on their screen, a long lession on how to make my art more appealing was probably copy and pasted from a document. Methods, way to act, how to think, practices, feedback and criticism on two of my pieces as an example. You name it.

The last part at least felt a bit clearer that this was a person and not a bot (they even sent screenshots with guidelines and red circles). Still not a hundred percent sure. But enough for me to write back carefully.

Glamrock Endoskeleton

Out of all of the Endoskeletons we have seen throughout the years. The Glamrock Endo is by far my favorite. To me they just have a far scarier appearance to them. Not only that they actually seem to be a legit threat to a person’s safety. No offense to Endo-01 as he’s a classic but E-1 is like a metal twig and Endo-02 is slightly no different but having more detail to him. The idea of them being like the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who is a pretty neat idea. Adds more to the horror as you always have to watch your back, so they won’t creep on you from behind. Though another ability they have is something they never use in-game save for a scripted moment at the beginning. That being able to crawl on walls like Spiderman.

This is the only Glamrock Endo we ever see having this ability. I won’t lie and say this is pretty odd and out of place. I get this was foreshadowing the Endos, but I think there could’ve been a better way than giving them the ability to wallcrawl. Since there’s no way to explain how they can do this and why they never use it again.

I love we get a blueprint of the Glamrock Endos to see how they are put together. Now sure if you can find this in the game itself or in the game files. Either way it’s cool and Steel Wool really didn’t need to add this detail but glad they did.

When getting to the warehouse where the Glamrock Endos are stored you come across seven large pictures with the endos interacting with the kids. It’s obvious these are training pictures to help the Endos to know what they should and shouldn’t do while interacting with the people, mostly children, in the Pizzaplex. If the Endos have training this would imply the Glamrock Endos were going to be the robotic staff before the S.T.A.F.F. Bots were created. As you can see here purple paint crosses out the red X and next to it is a purple check mark. Meaning Glitchtrap and Vanny were tampering with the training. 

As you can see the first image I posted. To them it’s ok for the Endo to drop the girl’s birthday cake.

When it comes to the seven training pictures that you can find while exploring the warehouse. This one, along with another one I’ll get to, are the most telling about Afton’s character without actually telling the player. Despite being a child murderer and being a neglectful dad sometimes. He truly does love his kids and misses them dearly. Which is why he had Vanny leave this picture alone (Aside from having Vanny add in the rabbit ears and an outline of Glitchtrap) as it reminds him of his family. Though it’s a shame that the death of his kids won’t stop Afton from coming back and bringing more death to others to further his plans.

Another sign of Glitchtrap and Vanny tampering with the Glamrock Endos’ training. It’s bad to provide medical aid to an injured child.

Like with the picture that has the three kids showing their affection to the Glamrock Endo. This one also shows you more of Willaim Afton’s feelings. This picture shows a little girl lying down in a hospital bed. We all know what happened to Crying Child and how he was put into the hospital in order to fix him. But in the end, he still died which left Willaim in despair. But I do think this picture can have a double meaning. As the child in the picture is a little girl and Elizabeth Afton was also a young child when she died. So, the little girl could remind him of his daughter and the bed of CC when he was in the hospital. No doubt when first seeing his Glitchtrap was feeling a lot of emotions. But it would it seem anger won, and he then ordered Vanny to slice at it with a knife. (I know this picture had nothing to do with the Glamrock Endos in a direct manner. But I might as well talk about it as it is a training picture from them.)

Sundrop/moondrop thoughts

(Take this with a huge grain of salt I've never played any of the FNAF games I've just watch security breach gameplay)

Physical appearance:

I do think sun and moon are the animatronic. Around the daycare not only are there statues of both of them but there's sun's and stars and moons everywhere. Design wise sun and moon share half a face. They have the same silhouette and on moon's design, he has the same waist detail that sun has and the same shoe design. Plus when sunny changes he seems to be in pain and he reaches for his face.

Importance:

It's interesting to me how sun/moon is important/popular enough to have a really big space and merch and plushies and whatnot that they don't have their own room. Sun/moon are the only new character with a substantial personality other than Monty, Roxy, and music man but each of them have their own spaces. (Roxy's raceway and Roxy's room. Gator golf and Monty's room. The club area where music man is at) Sun/moon's room is really shitty NGL. Maybe they didn't like how they weren't really seen as legit to everyone else and that's why there's all those mangled S.T.A.F.F bots in their room. Amongst the staff bots there are also just childlike drawings (that may be theirs but it could also be a child's drawing that was given/taken from a child) and toy plushes. I hear people suggesting that this is Gregory's room but i disagree and think Gregory lives in foxy's boat. It makes sense that sun/moon wouldn't have been given a room considering that it's their job to run the daycare.

Daycare:

It makes sense that sun/moon wouldn't have a room since they're watching the children from 6 am to 11:30pm? Midnight? Which btw, it says "daycare" but i don't think the daycare is for toddlers/infants. I think it's intended for young children and older kids. 1 because sun doesn't say anything about Gregory's age when Gregory goes to the daycare, 2 because the only entry ways i saw into the daycare way a massive slide and the main doors, 3 because of the contents of the daycare itself. The playground equipment, the little tables, mini kitchen set, and the activities that sunny offers Gregory. Glitter glue, googly eyes, tell stories, "drink fizzy faz" etc. He seems to be able to handle younger kids and maybe preteens? He says "drink fizzy faz until our brains exPLODE!" Which not only opens the possibility that he can drink but he seems to know what little kids would be into and what older kids would be into.

Purpose:

Contrary to popular belief, i don't think moondrop is the night time caretaker and he's been tampered with and that's why he's agro. I believe this for multiple reasons. 1 because when you first meet sundrop he asks you if you're having a sleepover. If moondrop is the night time caretaker, then why would Sundrop be the one who would be in charge of a sleepover? Not to mention that a nap area/materials for nap time found anywhere in the mega pizzaplex. 2 because sun's one rule is keep the lights on (so he can be conscious) and the lights are still on, even when the pizzaplex is closed. I think moondrop is only there for security reasons. When you take the security pass in other parts of the game, the security alarm goes, the sirens sound, and animatronics come out. When you take the security pass in the daycare, no sirens sound (this is probably to not scare the children but somehow sun knows what the security siren sounds like), the lights go out, and moondrop becomes present. I don't think moon was tampered to be agro, he was to designed to be. The daycare is the area in the whole mall that has the most children in it and thus would need the most security. Because no way in hell parents are leaving their young children with a fucking animatronic who can EASILY be pushed over by kids. Like no offense but there's no way the kids respect sundrop. Sun acts more as a child than he does a caretaker ngl. Moondrop is the safe fall, should anything happen. When the lights are out he's given access to the whole Plex to eliminate the threat. After all, moon is very flexible and intimidating. He's able to "fly"/hang on the ceiling and he has red eyes (red eyes that can not be seen in any of the promotional stuff in the pizzaplex) I think the icing on the cake is that sun/moon's only canonical name is "daycare attendant"

Terra has a Chat with a REAL Moderator this Time

In lieu of my original post that gained a lot of traction, and me talking about being “contacted” by someone claiming to be a mod.

An ACTUAL mod from the Official Cookie Run discord managed to contact me and  set the record straight on a few things, as well as discuss a few things regarding what happened. So it seems that this whole situation has indeed caught the attention of the mods of the Cookie Run Official Discord, and even MicMac himself. So what’s been done?

I do wanna talk about it in greater detail, so I’m gonna put everything in a cut, starting now. If you want the TL;DR version, skip to the second picture of Chestnut with Walnut at the end.

First things First, the person who I talked on the moderation team was someone by the name of Zayder, who contacted me on anon with their details. Using some help from friends We were able to background check and confirm, yes this person is actually legit. So I was reassured I wasn’t walking into some kind of trap.

What’s Being Done to Protect Artists on the Discord, Moving Forward?

I think this is the big question on everyone’s mind since I made my original post and all eyes are on the moderators and MicMac to make the change.

There seems to be a genuine admittance to the fact that the previous way fanart was moderated was ineffective and caused issues such as the theft and reposting to happen. 

So they’ve gone ahead and added stricter measures to prevent this from happening again. Including preventing new members from posting until they get the “Cookie” role, a cooldown on the channel to allow for easier moderation and viewing of said artwork, and heavier infractions laid down for art theft. 

I mentioned that the cooldown also allows for time for people to appreciate genuine artwork posted. So considering the magnitude of its members I’d say that’s a great first step in moving forward towards protecting community fanartists. I got confirmation from members in my own discord that the cooldown IS indeed already enacted and even increased from 10 to 30 minutes, so I have reassurance that what’s being told to me is true. 

They DO have a report system on their bot, but it seems most people prefer just messaging mods so that system in itself is rather flawed, but only so much you can do there. 

(^ This one’s my own artwork, btw!! ^) Zayder also asked me for my own feedback on what could be done to help protect artists, since I am an artist myself. It seems most of the moderation team are not artists and this probably lent itself to making moderation there so weak. 

In summary my main suggestions that were noticed were being mindful of traced art, and a dedicated section or post explaining art theft and how it harms artists and the importance of crediting artists. As not everyone understands how it hurts us, some people genuinely are uninformed. Which Zayder stated he would forward to Mic Mac. (Not sure how I feel about my own suggestions going directly to MicMac himself, but you know!!)

Fawn’s Situation happened so Long Ago that most of it is Lost (or worst case scenario, was deleted by a member of the moderation team) 

While the general consensus now is indeed “Yes, Fawn created Nutmeg Cookie,” there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of evidence towards who the perpetrator was (We had their username, hazbinalastor666, but not their ID and they’ve since changed it to cover their tracks) and the moderators involved with Fawn’s “Ban” to be found on the Official Cookie Run Discord. At least not anymore.

Zayder has confirmed that Fawn “left” the server in December of 2019, which lines up with Fawn’s own statements on the situation. However Zayder stated that whoever kicked her didn’t actually put her on the banlist. So either they kicked her manually, or they used the bot and then used it to erase all evidence of it and pretend nothing happened (which he certainly HOPES is not the case, and I do as well). It did not help that Trial Mods were not a thing yet by this time (They were not introduced until February of 2020), according to what Zayder told me. So things on that Discord were essentially pretty gun-ho. It’s not as simple as looking up a term and going to “Oldest” to track down stuff from the time.  Plus a good chunk of it seemed to have happened through DMs so... Good Luck getting that evidence.

Zayder informed me that Fawn is welcome to come back at any time. Though speaking with her she’s chosen not to, and considering her situation I don’t think anyone can blame her. I would like to believe that the version of the Discord that Fawn had to go through is not the same as the one we have now but something like isn’t essentially going to wash away what happened.

As for evidence that Fawn created Nutmeg first? Yes I do have it. The original incident,  hazbinalastor666 claimed that they created Nutmeg in November of 2019, However there’s evidence in our own discord showing Fawn creating Nutmeg as early as September of 2019.

As well as the day Fawn came forward on our discord about the situation after keeping quiet out of fear of backlash, ignited by seeing the thief get a commission of Nutmeg. However, I don’t plan to post that publicly unless I have Fawn’s okay. 

Yes. The First “Mod” That tried to Contact Me was Pretty Undeniably Someone Posing as a Mod From the Official Discord

“I'm also really curious on what you found false on what the "moderator" said to you. Nobody on the mod team ever told us they were gonna contact you, so I wouldnt know who that is.”

So that was my first sign that clearly the original person who contacted me at least wasn’t doing so without the consensus of the other mods, and neither did they consult the mods afterwards... So very, very likely they were a fake from the start. Some of the things that were off that I told to Zayder, and that we found through conversation were as follows:

The first person contacted me on a throwaway and refused to disclose who they were. Zayder gave me the ID of his personal discord and we could verify who they were easily.

The first person blew off my own suggestions for helping improve the fanart channels with statements like “We’re already cracking down on it.” Zayder asked me for my own suggestions as an artist without even being asked.

The first person kept trying to get me to get Fawn to use a VPN in order to get back into the Official Cookie Run Discord. Despite being told repeatedly that’s not how a VPN works. That’s just fucking weird. 

The first person couldn’t track anything down regarding Fawn’s situation years ago, Zayder was at least able to actually pinpoint the date in which Fawn was kicked, and rather quickly too I might add.

Zayder had pretty proficient knowledge on the bot the Discord uses for moderation and how it works. Which he explained to me a few times. The first person said to me at one point, and I quote, “For all I know the bot gives messages when infractions are laid.”

So seeing how talking with a real Moderator like Zayder was, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that someone was trying to dupe me here for some reason. Was it revenge? Did they want some sort of blackmail? Did they want me to proverbially “back off?” And if they ARE a mod why wouldn’t they give the info and such that I gave them to the other mods? Who knows. 

TL;DR:

Long Story short, it does appear as if the Moderation Team and Mic Mac have heard the artists of the fandom and are going to be working hard to lay down stricture rules regarding posting and doing their best to make sure credit goes where credit is due.

Fawn’s incident happened so long ago there’s not much evidence to be found on the Official discord, but we DO have proof that Nutmeg Cookie belongs to UpsetFawn!

The First Person who claimed to be a Mod was a fake and talking with Zayder proved it.

Overall, my talk with Zayder was very pleasant and enlightening and I believe Zayder would say about the same! I never meant to cause such an uproar, but I’d like to think things will change for the better now that we’ve all spoken up on behalf of our fellow artist. 

What we need to do now is watch how the Cookie Run Official Discord moves forward and if they’ll stick to their word towards protecting fandom content creators from theft and uncredited reposts. Though after my talk I’m certainly optimistic they will.

I enjoy when Optimus takes me to natural places that are untouched. We've been to the Nevada National Park quite a bit! I've always wanted to take him where I'm from, in the North East, and show him all the places I've been and show him how I've always grown up!

Ares: Are you ever protective of your f/o(s)? Are they ever protective of you?

I'm protective of Optimus a lot of the time. I know he can hold his own, but I can't help but worry for his safety. He's self-sacrificed himself many times, and I'd be lost without him. I know that Optimus is protective of me too. He'd do anything for me, guard me with his life.

Hephaestus: Do you and your f/o(s) ever like to get gifts for one another? What kind of gifts?

Optimus sometimes goes out in holoform to get me something. Usually its normal human stuff to keep sane like a blanket or maybe a good smelling candle, but he is also a sentimental guy. One time he legit made me a little gift basket out of one of those wooden crates? Apparently June helped him make it, and he gave it to me when I was having a rough time loving myself. It was filled with self-care stuff, like some tea bags I always enjoy, a little box of tea biscuts, some wax melts, and even a hand written card. Optimus' handwriting for a Cybertronian in human form is absolutely beautiful by the way.

As for him, it's hard to get him gifts. I don't know what Cybertronians really need, but I did paint my jean vest to wear every single day, representing the Papa bot I've come to love and know so well.

The Erinyes: How does your f/o (or f/os) respond to someone mistreating you? Do they confront the person? Do they comfort you?

If someone is mistreating me, he has to hold back on confronting whoever hurt me, because he can't allow humans to see the bots....so he uses his holoform to confront them. But that's not before he pulls me aside and let me get my worries out and tears, holding me close to him in autobot form. He talks me through that what I've been through was unacceptable, and that whatever happened wasn't a reflection of myself at all, and that I should rest. His presence alone, autobot or not, would intimidate anyone when not dealing with his soft but strong personality.

Knockout

Knockout likes to travel, but he doesn't like dirt roads, he says it ruins his paint. He likes to bring me to famous popular places that are on people's bucket lists to visit, like one time he drove me to Las Vegas to look at the strip's lights. It was super cool.

Ares: Are you ever protective of your f/o(s)? Are they ever protective of you?

I'm protective of KO, sure! But I know he can handle his own enough that I'm not overly protective. As for KO protective of me, sometimes he doesn't like to show it. But if you confront him about it, he will be like 'yes, she's my friend, and if you hurt her you are going to have an unexpected surgery'

Hephaestus: Do you and your f/o(s) ever like to get gifts for one another? What kind of gifts?

I give Knockout gifts that help him keep up with his appearance, because that's always a big deal to him. Mostly pads to help with his buffing up, a gift card to fix up his paint if it gets scratched or ruined...those type of things!

KO likes to take me out shopping for my own self confidence, so I guess the clothes he gets me are gifts!

The Erinyes: How does your f/o (or f/os) respond to someone mistreating you? Do they confront the person? Do they comfort you?

Oof you don't want to mess with me, because you will be messing with Knockout also, and trust me you don't want to do that! When KO sees me in tears, he quickly assesses me to see if I'm hurt physically (he is a doctor after all) and kneels down to ask me what happened. "What happened, dear? Who hurt you?!" he asks in an already aggravated tone, ready to drill into whoever I speak about. When I tell him what happened, he, with a fragile talon, wipes away some tears on my cheeks before telling me I didn't deserve that treatment, and to wait at the base until he comes back. And with that, he transforms as quick as he can, his wheels screaming on the pavement before racing off to deal with the "fleshy" who did that to me.

Calliope: Do you have any poetry or literature excerpts (or other quotes) that suit your ship?

I actually don't for this one!

The Bride

Poseidon: Do you and your f/o(s) like to travel? If so, where do you like to go? Is there anywhere you’d like to go that you haven’t yet?

She hasn't traveled far beyond Frankenstein's castle, but one day I'd like to take her to the countryside, just to see the calm beauty of it. I don't think she'd do well among living humans, so quiet places like that would be nice to bring her.

Ares: Are you ever protective of your f/o(s)? Are they ever protective of you?

Oh, she is EXTREMELY protective of me. One word said in a harsh tone from anyone to me, and she hisses at the person who said it. I'm her "pretty girl" and she would do anything for me, even if it means destroying someone else to protect me.

I'm also protective of her because of humans not understanding why she isn't a monster. She is learning, she is thinking, and has her own way of communication. I don't want her to get into danger when people are afraid of something different, aka The Bride.

Hephaestus: Do you and your f/o(s) ever like to get gifts for one another? What kind of gifts?

The Bride likes to make me things! She learned how to sew, probably from Erik, and she had made me a warm cape to wear out so I won't be cold.

I tend to pick her flowers whenever I see them, and whenever I bring them to her, she is in such awe from them!

The Erinyes: How does your f/o (or f/os) respond to someone mistreating you? Do they confront the person? Do they comfort you?

Kinda following the prompt of her being protective of me, there is no cooling off when she finds out someone has harmed me, she is full force going to harm whoever hurt me. She has the strength to do it, and she will do whatever it takes to sear into the person's head that if they ever mistreat me again, they will unleash her raging wrath. As for comforting me, she holds me close, wrapping an arm around me while holding my head to her chest. She might not know how to display her emotions correctly sometimes, but clearly she knows when her child is upset. That's a mother's instinct.

only a handful of people actually know of his origins, and being a changeling sure comes with a lot of perks for his (previous) field of work

There are no official records of a changeling’s standard/normal form, and very rarely would anyone get a chance to witness it. Most changelings take on forms of existing beings, depending on the location they’re at and how much they want to blend in, some preferring to add their own artistic flair on appearance]  

San’s hair changes almost as quickly as he changes his dagger blades, his current hair of a rich dark brown colour with a turf of silver that never seem to stop shimmering slightly – much like moon light. Which makes his Selenian [database file: moon/silver elves] form all that more convincing

he started his mercenary life on the planet Tundaoria, where all main networks of black markets and underground work are based at

young blood with no last name, a growing reputation – San is an all-round enigma. But he had a talent for tracking, deadly accuracy and disappearing without a trace, hence nobody questioned him other than for getting a job done

he used to work with a small group, ‘Windstriders’, known for their efficient timeframe and clean work. People pay for the quality, majority of the time San worked with others but sometimes he might pick up a few solo missions on the side

earned the nickname ‘Dimples’ from his ex-team mates however whilst he seems harmless on first glance, “the kid? Aye he’s one big sweetheart he is”, he’s learnt to use that highly skewed perception to his advantage

that’s to say he’s managed to coax beings either to bed for a night of pleasure or their deathbeds, talk about deadly charisma  

“so on average, what are the chances of someone walking out of your room alive?” 

San prides himself with maintaining a level of morality, and won’t kill unless it’s the specific target themselves and/or out of self-defence for any unfortunate souls who decide to intervene with his job. Has nothing against stealing or gambling because, “what’s living without taking a few risks?”

lowkey has a soft spot for younglings and became unexpectedly close to a particular orphanage in a town on the far northern-side of the planet. The head guardian (most orphanages are cared by a guardian or two) found San passed out nearby after a particularly tedious mission and took him in for healing. Since then that place had become an unofficial healer’s spot and safe house  

the younglings absolutely adored having him visit, especially when “look, look! The Moon Prince is here!”, bearing gifts such as trinkets, new toys or aleagette pastries [database: assorted savoury or sweet pastry-type snacks that melt in the mouth when eaten, the surprise is that the flavour isn’t known until the first bite]. San would later on start contributing part of his earnings towards the upkeep of the orphanage as a repayment for the guardians’ hospitality (and it’s really for the younglings but he won’t admit that)

every time a youngling treats him to a toothy smile, a wild giggle or when the bolder ones would run up and wrap their petite arms around his legs his fondness grows exponentially. Once, a guardian caught him helping the younglings doodle whatever their hearts desired on themselves so they could match the many permanent silver ink patterns that decorated his arms and back

“already influencing the little ones with your ways, Sannie?” (another nickname that the younglings picked up on and would parrot it back)

“I’ll have you know what we’re doing here is called art”

the one time San was caught off guard was having a past target’s associate track him down to his safe space and carry out a revenge attack – “you took my family away from me and now I’m going to take yours”          

San never fully recovered (the invisible wounds at least) for causing innocents to get caught up in the crossfire, for realising too late how attached he’s become to these people and their meaningful presence in his life 

as a parting favour, the Windstriders helped San relocate the survivors of the orphanage far away to the much more peaceful city of Aeria (known as ‘City of Healing’ on the planet Cidestea). They said goodbye to a reliable comrade, to his old identity, to his previous lifestyle; mutually promising that contact will only be made again in a dire situation as a last resort – Dimples was off the radar for good

5 years later, after a successful loot haul The Perihelion stopped by Aeria for a re-fuel and mainly because Seonghwa wouldn’t miss an opportunity to stock up on his medicinal herbs (also adopting some new plant children). Hongjoong led his small crew after being directed by a local to “the best tea spot in town” which turned out to be ‘Mosaic Brews’ run by none other than San

now sporting a more turquoise shade of hair and a woodland elven appearance where once silver ink ran along his skin, now a bold black-brown. The younglings who decided to stick by him now have grown too, toughened up by life yet maintained their soft innocence under San’s care for the past years

curiously they stared in awe at Yunho and Mingi, clearly never seeing such giants (to them) before, the older ones enthusiastically brought out the multi-coloured teas for their new guests and the younger ones were spoiled by Seonghwa’s constant cooing. Hongjoong thought San was more than what met his eyes, the seemingly bright shop owner who’s dimples were on full display and heartily conversed with the young captain still had a guarded air around him

it wasn’t until Yunho and Seonghwa gave a few Urousbaines (with captain’s approval of course, one does not just hand out rarities for free) from their loot to the younglings and San’s nonchalant reaction that got Hongjoong’s eyes sparkling

“don’t worry little one, the flower isn’t frozen, here pass me that water bowl.” and the younglings are still convinced till this day that San is some intergalactic prince with magical powers. Because right in front of their eyes the supposedly frozen flower bloomed and the sunlight refracted off its crystal-like petals, casting a spectrum of colours to fill the small shop

“oh how wondrous! How did you know to do that?” (…and San has left the chat)

A LOT of convincing was needed to get San to hear Hongjoong out (by now the crew knew what their captain wants, he gets) and only after tucking the younglings in for the evening in their rooms on the upper level of the shop did the serious talk start

San swore to leave that life behind but he would be kidding himself if he said he didn’t feel a slight tug at his heart for adventure, yet again. It was a tug-of-war between what the head knows vs. what the heart yearns for

“But Sannie how are you going to save the galaxy if you’re stuck here?” came the soft-spoken voice of the youngest and the group nearly had whiplash turning around. The younglings had snuck downstairs and listened in on the convo, knowing it’ll be sad to part with San but even sadder for him to purposely hold back

the younglings won the debate, that they weren’t naïve nor helpless anymore and together they could take care of themselves and the shop – after all they’ve only learnt from the best (San did notify some of the locals whom were trusted regulars of his temporary leave and to keep an eye on the younglings in his stead)

Yunho offered a communication bot to keep in touch so San could check-in whenever he wished, the younglings were fascinated as the Sheirzoi showed them how to work it and a chorus of “oohs” and “ahhs” were heard when they saw the main deck of the ship through the screen. At present, he made sure to check-in at least once every week, all smiles & dimples when he sees the little ones’ faces squeezed into the single screen

San held onto the younglings right up until he boarded The Perihelion, and making sure to wave back until they were right out of sight. He packed simply but made sure to put up some of the drawings the younger ones gifted him up on his room’s walls and the ‘lucky charm’ that got braided into his hair was worn proudly (the older kids had woven a band with colourful beads & crystallised Echetta wings they found in the garden – from the ‘lucky butterfly’)

the crew reminded him of his old team, how they looked out for one another despite not being blood-related but nevertheless a family of sorts. Eventually everyone found out of his changeling abilities after he nearly gave them a heart attack, “SAN! YOU’RE PURPLE…WHY IS YOUR SKIN PURPLE?!”

Hongjoong never dug too deep into San’s past but was very grateful and appreciative of his fighting skills, thus made him in charge of training the others to be able to defend themselves at least. Cue strict combat trainer San to pop out (Yeosang adds a new curse word to his vocab list after every lesson)

they’ve seen his lethal side where he went on a rampage after Seonghwa got shot

Is probably the only one Jongho trusts to trial his new weapons without blowing something or someone up accidentally

argues with the hot-headed Wooyoung frequently that sometimes Seonghwa has to put them in time-out, initially was legit arguments but now it’s more with an affectionate undertone

Hongjoong and Seonghwa nearly gave him ‘the space dad & mum talk’ after, “bloody hell did you get attacked or something?” upon seeing an array of purple-pink marks across San’s neck when he came stumbling back to the ship just near dawn. The faint scent of perfume lingering and tousled hair gave away that much. “At least leave us a message if not we’re sending the precious cargo retrieval brigade next time”

recently adopted a Kiatrafel [database file: small winged feline-like creature that can spit fire], he calls her “my girl” and is in the midst of training it to not mark its territory everywhere (including on people)

“SAN! Your hellcat just pissed on Hongjoong...again and coughed up flames on Yunho’s notes. Captain says if you don’t come within 5 seconds he’s throwing her down the chute”
