I want to post all the photos I scanned of Assumpta and make edits of them but I have to fix them in Photoshop (damage and discoloration for 30+ years of sitting in storage) hhnnnnnnnnghhhh i wanna post NOW. Also Assumpta gave me her IMDB login...and now I can upload all those photos to her page and also her films that she was in....it's a strange sort of feeling to know you have some of the only surviving photos of productions decades past...
#;ooc#(also i forgot to transfer my new icons to my laptop so i have to use my old ones dsfsdgd)#(also very heavily considering leaving early from my cousins to go back to madrid cuz its ROUGH here)#(as of right now i have 500+ photos scanned which is barely a dent in what was there but the scanner is soooo slow)#(that was two weeks worth of work)#(she also gave me her imdb so we can get the info on people from past productions for the archival project for the spanish gov)#(adelaide was lost in a fire which is DEVASTATING but at least we have one low quality version but STILL. im heartbroken)#(assumpta: oh yeah let me call up the director)#(me: ????????? from 30 years ago?? damn...you really do keep in contact with everyone)#(she really keeps everything. even receipts LOL)

before taking my road test i did genuinely think everyone who said some of them will try to trip you up or be overly harsh were just sorta stretching the truth, but after how stupid my test was i understand.
i ended up autofailing bcz it was a two lane (same direction) parking lot where there were signs and cones saying one side was for the road test & one was for regular vechicles EXCEPT FOR ONE VERY SMALL AREA ONLY AT THE BEGINNING. but then she proceeded to make me continue on and do a parallel park, making me assume i didnt do anything wrong, and then have me circle back to the beginning and THEN fail me.
not only that, but she.. lied? about me not using my blinker when either going in or leaving the park????? which i straight up did do????? 🥲
#i think id have been less devastated by the fail if the just immediately told me to turn back around bcz i failed at the bad signage#i genuinely think that if anyone else saw that signage theyd be confused too. in fact im pretty sure my instructor didnt even know#bcz we needed to turn right but instead of going over to that tiny area that clips into the road test section#we went the long way around so we didnt go in that lane#the lesson i went to before my test was two hours and heavily inconvenient for my sponsor so to go through all of that and autofail..#odds are w her id have failed anyway. i genuinely dont see why she lied about the blinkers but AT LEAST if i went through the whole test &#failed it wouldve hurt but at least i could walk away knowing it wasnt as stupid as it was#now i have to renew my id bcz i wont have a license. and renew my permit. and pay $200+ for another test bcz i dont have#a car that can be used for the regular rmv. and now im paying rent for a place i cant even go to yet bcz the next rmv appt is in MID MAY#(the rent thing is normal and i did plan for it. but if you havent experienced rmvs 'post' covid.. you dont even do the test there.#you 'check in' and leave to do it at your house.)#i may try to beg my ride that i now 100% need to drive me to a further out one but. sighs. who knows#i ❤️ lifeeee#diary#sorry this is so long lol. im not as inconsolable as yesterday but now im just annoyed#i also wish to stress that while i love my car i fucking hate driving#my reward for getting my license is high car insurance and paying a ton for gas? YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!#AUUGGHHHHHHHHH 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣

safe and sound — nanami kento.
“Who was that, Nanamin?” Yuuji asked hesitantly. “That was my wife.” Nanami explained to him, putting his phone away. “It’s better if we talk about it on the way there. Come on, let’s get going. I don’t want the store to close on us.” “Huh?” “Huh? Itadori–kun, are you okay?” The shock is now more evident than ever before in Itadori Yuuji’s face. He was hysterical, stunned and dumbfounded. “What? Nanamin, you’re married? You have a wife? Huh?” "Itadori–kun, please calm down." he began, his voice steady but tinged with an uncharacteristic gentleness. "Yes, I am married."

polaroid love | safe and sound
next: just one day
IT WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING, THE AFTERMATH. Every mission felt different. Every mission left a different taste, a different texture, a different feeling. And this wasn’t something that Nanami Kento was unfamiliar with. If he was being honest, he’d experienced all the sorts of emotions that come with being a Jujutsu sorcerer. But it was new to Itadori Yuuji. And it was devastating to watch.
It was almost as though the blond had returned to those days, that misery when Haibara Yu had died. He could remember being just as lost, being just as disgruntled and grievous. Every bit of it returned in a flash as he stood there, watching Yuuji grapple with the fresh wound of loss.
Itadori-kun hasn’t spoken since yesterday, not since they talked. But Nanami Kento had expected it as much. What does one say after such a tragedy? The boy who had died, the one named Junpei—he was a comfort to Yuuji. He didn’t know Junpei as well as Yuuji did, but he knew that he was just a kid. A kid who was robbed of his life, of a chance.
Nanami’s heart ached with a familiar pain as he watched Itadori Yuuji, who was sitting on the ground with his knees drawn to his chest, staring blankly ahead. It was an all-too-familiar sight, one that he had seen reflected in his own mirror years ago. The silence between them was thick, filled with the unspoken sorrow that hung heavily in the air.
He sighed as he saw the boy still at the edge of the school’s steps. His shoulders slumped and eyes fixed on the ground. The battle with the curse Mahito had taken its toll on everyone, but it seemed to have hit Yuuji the hardest. With Gojo Satoru still away on his overseas mission and Gojo Genmei's whereabouts uncertain, Nanami Kento felt the weight of responsibility settling heavily on his own shoulders. He couldn’t leave the boy alone. Not like this. He could see it in the young boy’s eyes. He needs relief, peace of mind.
Ieiri Shoko and Kiyotaka Ijichi were good people, but Nanami knew they weren’t what Itadori-kun needed right now. Shoko was burdened with her own responsibilities, cleaning up the mess that curse left behind. Her duties as the school's medic were already overwhelming, and adding Yuuji's emotional turmoil to her plate would be unfair. Ijichi, on the other hand, was exhausted from going back and forth between missions, assisting wherever he was needed. He needed rest, not more stress.
Nanami sighed, racking his brain for a solution. No one else was to know that Itadori Yuuji was alive—that was what Gojo Satoru had insisted on. It was dangerous to reveal Yuuji's survival, especially with the higher-ups likely to come after him. They wouldn't hesitate to use Yuuji as a pawn in their political games, and Nanami couldn't allow that to happen.
The weight of responsibility pressed heavily on Nanami's shoulders. If he failed to ensure Yuuji's well-being, it would be his fault. He couldn’t bear the thought of failing another young sorcerer, not after what had happened to Haibara. The memory of his own anguish, his own failure, was still too vivid, too painful.
As Nanami watched Yuuji sitting despondently, he felt a surge of determination. This boy, who had been thrust into a world of curses and death, needed guidance and protection. It wasn’t a sin, to be a child who needs protection from the cruel world. He needed someone, something. To live, to breathe. To be relieved. And it was up to Nanami to provide that. He would not let Itadori Yuuji fall into despair or danger.
He approached Yuuji, who was still staring at the ground, lost in his own grief. "Itadori–kun." he said softly, trying to reach through the boy’s sorrow. "Are you alright?”
Yuuji looked up, his eyes empty and haunted. "O–oh, I’m fine, Nanamin. Please don’t worry about me—”
"I’d rather you be honest with me, Itadori–kun." Nanami replied. "I know you're hurting. And I know it feels like you’re alone. But you’re not. You should not burden yourself with this anymore than you should.”
Yuuji’s gaze dropped again, and Nanami felt a pang of sympathy. The boy had been through so much in such a short time. He needed someone to anchor him, to help him navigate the turbulent waters of his emotions and the dangerous world he now inhabited.
“But Nanamin…”
Haibara used to make that face too, Nanami thinks. That same expression of guilt and self-doubt, as if he hadn’t done enough, as if he should have been better. He could see it now, in Yuuji’s eyes. The weight of regret and the burden of what-ifs.
“I just…” Yuuji’s voice cracked, his words trailing off. The pain and uncertainty were clear, and Nanami’s heart ached with understanding.
"Gojo-san trusts you. And so do I," Nanami said, his eyes softening as he met Yuuji’s troubled gaze. "You’ve shown incredible strength and resilience, Itadori–kun. I told you that yesterday. It’s okay to feel what you’re feeling. It’s okay to grieve."
Yuuji’s lower lip trembled, and he bit down on it, trying to hold back the tears threatening to spill over. “But what if… what if I’m not strong enough? What if I fail again?”
Nanami shook his head slowly. “Strength isn’t about never failing, Itadori–kun. It’s about getting back up, even when you’ve fallen. It’s about continuing to fight, even when it seems impossible. You’re stronger than you think, and you don’t have to do this alone.”
The boy looked down, his hands gripping his knees tightly. “Junpei… he was my friend. And I couldn’t save him.”
Nanami’s grip on Yuuji’s shoulder tightened, offering a silent promise of support. “We can’t always save everyone. But we honor them by continuing to fight for others, by becoming better, stronger. Junpei–kun wouldn’t want you to give up. He’d want you to keep going, to keep trying.”
A tear slipped down Yuuji’s cheek, and he wiped it away with the back of his hand. “I just… I don’t know if I can.”
“You can,” Nanami assured him. “And you will. Little by little. You can do it, Itadori–kun.”
Itadori Yuuji didn’t respond immediately, but Nanami Kento could see a flicker of something—hope, maybe—in his eyes. It was a start. Little by little. He could feel the boy’s breathing become more even. He could see his features relax slightly, the tension he had vanishing. Nanami thinks that he’ll cry again, when Nanami isn’t there. But perhaps, this was enough. Seeing him be reassured once again, that it wasn’t his fault. Maybe one day, Nanami Kento would see him smile genuinely again.
WHENEVER HE SEES YOUR NAME ON SCREEN, HE SMILES.When he heard the familiar melody of his ringtone, Nanami Kento excused himself from Itadori–kun and walked off to a more private area. The buzzing seclusion of Tokyo Jujutsu High’s main stairwell faded as he found a quiet corner. He felt a pang of guilt for not replying to you much earlier. He can only think how much you were thinking about him, with a worried heart. He knew you understood, especially during times when he was on missions. But he thinks that understanding can only go so far. His job after all was something that was hard to grasp with relief.
But you knew the demands of his work as a sorcerer, when he told you about it years and years ago. He wouldn’t leave the work, you know that much. So you let it be. As long as he came home to you, that was fine. And so, it has always been fine when you don’t get a text between some days. All these years, you had never pressured him about not replying or calling. The same understanding applied when you were engrossed in your manuscripts during writing season.
At times, Nanami Kento wishes he could be a better husband for you. A husband that you deserve. A husband that’s always there to coddle you, to take care of you, to love you. He thinks about it sometimes, if he were a househusband. He could commit his life to taking care of you, the way you had always done for him. Maybe one day he’d get that chance. Maybe he’d finally be able to return your love for him in a way that was true to loving you.
“Hello, my love.” he greeted, trying to keep his tone cheerful. “I’m sorry for not replying to you sooner.
“Kento, baby! I’m so glad I caught you.” you replied, your voice warm and bright. He loves it. He adores it when he hears that excited pitch. He was happiest when he could hear your voice. “I haven’t heard from you all day. I hope everything’s been alright at work, baby.”
Nanami Kento hesitated for a moment. He didn’t have the heart to tell you that he had almost died yesterday, that the mission had been far more dangerous than anticipated. He didn’t want to worry you. He doesn’t like it when he stresses you out. You were in enough pressure for your deadlines, he didn’t want to add to that.
“Yes, everything’s fine, love.” he said, forcing a smile even though you couldn’t see it. “Just a bit busy, you know how it is.”
You sighed on the other end of the line, a sound filled with understanding and concern. “I know. I just worry about you sometimes. I’m a worry wart, you know?”
“I know you do, my love.” Nanami replied softly. “But I’m alright, really. I did well and survived. I’m okay. That’s all that matters.”
You sighed tenderly. ‘I suppose so. I think that’s always enough for me. Knowing that you’re well.”
“Exactly. So, my love. Enough about me. Tell me, how was your day? Did you finish your manuscript for the new book?” He thinks that he could see your smile, even from a phone call. If there’s anything that makes him feel warm inside, it’s your smile.
There was a brief pause, and you laughed. “Yes, I did! It was a lot of work, but I finally finished it well. Before the deadline! Which means, no editor coming into our house to take me away from you! I’m really happy with how it turned out. I spent most of the day taking in the words I wrote and making sure everything was perfect.”
Nanami listened as you shared the details of your day, his heart lifting with every word you spoke. Your voice was animated and full of excitement, a soothing balm to his weary soul. He could picture you in the kitchen, eyes sparkling as you talked about finishing your manuscript and experimenting with new recipes. He asked questions, genuinely interested in every detail, finding comfort in the normalcy of your conversation.
As he listened, he was struck by the stark contrast between the world you described and the chaos he had faced earlier. Your day, filled with the mundane but meaningful tasks of editing and cooking, felt like a distant haven from the danger and uncertainty that had engulfed him. It was in these moments, when he could hear the warmth and love in your voice, that he found his grounding.
Nanami Kento often marveled at how deeply he loved you. It was a love that had grown over time, a steady flame that had become an essential part of his existence. Despite the tumultuous nature of his work, you were his constant, his anchor in a sea of unpredictability. Your unwavering support and understanding were the bedrock of his strength, and he cherished every bit of it.
In a world where so much was uncertain, your love was a rare and precious constant. It was the reason he fought so hard, the reason he pulled through the darkest moments. Your voice was a reminder of why he endured the risks and dangers of his profession. It was the promise of coming home to a place where he was loved and valued, no matter how challenging the world outside might be.
As you continued to talk, Nanami Kento felt a profound sense of gratitude. He knew that he could face any challenge, knowing that you were waiting for him at home. Your support gave him the strength to confront the darkness and emerge stronger. And in that quiet, shared moment over the phone, he felt an overwhelming appreciation for you, his partner, his love, and his greatest source of comfort.
“And then I took a break and made that recipe we found a while back!” you continued, giggling at the end.
You were always like this, when you were excited about something that had turned out well. Nanami Kento thinks that he can only feel like his heart is going to burst whenever you talk like this, like you were sunshine itself in his cloudy days.
“I can’t wait for you to come home, baby. You would enjoy it well!”
He chuckled softly. “I’m looking forward to it. It sounds delicious.”
You laughed, the sound light and musical. “I’ll make it for you when you get home. Just promise me you’ll be safe until then, okay?”
“I promise, my love. “Kento said, his voice sincere. “I’ll be home soon, okay?”
“That’s great!” You cheered on the other line. “I can cook it right away. I’m sure it will be ready by the time you get home.”
Nanami was about to reply when Itadori Yuuji walked in. The boy with fuschia hair started to speak but quickly realized that Nanami was on a call and fell silent. His face started to turn red as he blubbered a weak apology, as he turned around and started to walk off. Nanami shakes his head and puts his hand on his shoulder. Yuuji looks as though he was going to explode from embarrassment, mouthing to Nanami to let him go. But since he was here, he might as well introduce you to the boy.
Nanami Kento was private about his life. He rarely talked about how he was a proud married man. But it wasn’t because he was embarrassed. If anything, he would like to brag about you to the world. How you had the loveliest singing voice. How your cooking was the best he had ever tasted. How your words were always the warmest to hear. But he didn’t think he needed to share you with the world. Your presence was his sanctuary, a secret haven where he could retreat from the chaos of his duties.
In the quiet moments at home, when the world outside seemed a distant memory, he would listen to you hum a tune as you prepared dinner, your melody weaving a tapestry of comfort and familiarity. The aroma of your cooking filled the air, a symphony of flavors that spoke of love and care in every bite. And when you spoke, your voice gentle and soothing, it was as if the weight of his burdens lifted, replaced by a warmth that radiated from your every word.
Nanami didn’t need to share these moments with anyone else. They were his to treasure in this life, this little life he’s built with you. In your eyes, he found a reflection of the man he aspired to be – strong, yet tender; stoic, yet deeply affectionate. And in your embrace, he found the peace he so often sought in a world that demanded so much of him.
To the world, he was Nanami Kento, a formidable sorcerer and a man of few words. But to you, he was simply Kento, your beloved husband who cherished every moment spent in your presence. And that, he believed, was more than enough.
But he supposed, at least today, you would get known to the world.
“Who was that, Kento, baby?” you asked, curiosity piqued.
Nanami smiled slightly. “This is Itadori Yuuji, a student at Jujutsu High. I’m looking after him right now, for Gojo and his wife.”
He could feel the pitch get higher. That excitement in your voice, it never gets old to him. “Oh, bring him over for dinner, baby. I’m sure there’s enough food for us to share. Maybe even more.”
Yuuji looked even more flustered, shaking his head slowly. “I don’t want to impose on you at all…”
“Nonsense, Yuu–chan! Can I call you that, Yuu–chan? I think it suits you well!”
“Y–yes, that’s fine.” The boy uttered back, his lips trembling. “I–I don’t mind at all.”
“My! He sounds like a darling, baby.” You gushed happily. “I’d love to have him over for dinner with us, baby. It would be more lively.”
“Hm, I think so too.” He hums as he looks at Itadori. “Itadori–kun, you are welcome at our house.”
“I….I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything, Yuu–chan. We’ll be glad to have you.” You cooed on the other line. “Oh, baby. I think it’s going to be chilly tonight, so you might as well grab some miso paste before you get back home. It would be nice.”
Nanami nodded. “Alright. Is there anything else that you want me to grab?”
“I think something for the soup! I’ll text you the details.” You say to him. “But, baby, I’ll start cooking in a bit, so I’ll hang up.”
“You should. Remember the last time when you were cooking on call?”
He could feel the heat from your cheeks miles away. That incident will never leave you, you think. “T–that was one time, you know! And it ended on a happier note. It wasn’t that bad.”
“Hm, I suppose so.” He smiles at the phone. “I’ll be home in a bit, with Itadori–kun. I love you.”
“I love you too. See you soon, Kento!” You blew a kiss through the phone, and Nanami felt a little flustered as he ended the call.
Clearing his throat, he turned to Yuuji, who looked both embarrassed and curious. There were few people who knew he was married, let alone how much softer and brighter he became when it came to his wife. And now, Itadori Yuuji seems to be one of them.
Nanami's stern facade cracked ever so slightly as he met the young sorcerer's gaze. Yuuji's eyes were wide with a mix of surprise and wonder, clearly grappling with the unexpected revelation. Nanami could almost see the gears turning in the boy's head, trying to reconcile the image of the strict, no-nonsense mentor with the man who evidently harbored a deep, abiding love for someone special.
Kento sighed, pursing his lips. This was bound to happen, he supposed. The gods would make it happen, one way or another. He had always been careful, keeping his personal life meticulously separate from his professional duties. But perhaps it was inevitable that, sooner or later, the two worlds would collide.
“Who was that, Nanamin?” Yuuji asked hesitantly.
“That was my wife.” Nanami explained to him, putting his phone away. “It’s better if we talk about it on the way there. Come on, let’s get going. I don’t want the store to close on us.”
“Huh?”
“Huh? Itadori–kun, are you okay?”
The shock is now more evident than ever before in Itadori Yuuji’s face. He was hysterical, stunned and dumbfounded. “What? Nanamin, you’re married? You have a wife? Huh?”
"Itadori–kun, please calm down." he began, his voice steady but tinged with an uncharacteristic gentleness. "Yes, I am married."
Yuuji blinked, processing the confirmation. He finds his composure and starts smiling. "Wow, Nanamin, I didn't know... I mean, you never mentioned it. But I should—Congratulations on your marriage!”
Nanami nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He didn't know what to say as the young fuchsia-haired boy started clapping like it was a newly finished wedding reception. The sound of Yuuji's enthusiastic applause filled the air, an unexpected burst of joy that contrasted sharply with the usual solemnity of their conversations.
This kid has too much energy in him, now that he’s out of that dark headspace, Nanami thought, observing Yuuji's bright, expressive face. The transformation in the boy was remarkable; gone was the haunted look that had shadowed his eyes not so long ago. Instead, Yuuji was brimming with vitality, his spirit seemingly unbreakable despite the hardships he had faced.
But Kento thinks that it’s for the best. It’s hard to be in such a dark place. Levity should be welcomed. In a world where curses and battles often cast long shadows, moments of light-heartedness were precious. Nanami Kento had always believed in the importance of balance, of relief and seeing Itadory Yuuji so full of life reminded him of why he fought—to protect the innocence and joy that still existed in the world.
"I don't often talk about it.” Nanami says softly. “Not because I am ashamed or unwilling, but because...well, my wife is a part of my life that I prefer to keep private. Our moments together are precious to me."
Yuuji's curiosity seemed to override his embarrassment. "Your wife must be really amazing, Nanamin!" he ventured, his tone sincere and full of admiration. “Your wife seems to make you very happy!”
"My love certainly does." Nanami replied, his expression softening as he thought of you. "My wife is my sanctuary, my peace in a turbulent world. I’m lucky to be blessed.”
Yuuji smiled, clearly moved by the rare glimpse into Nanami's personal life. "That sounds incredible, Nanamin. I think it's great that you have someone like that."
Nanami gave a small nod, a silent acknowledgment of the truth in Yuuji's words. But he cleared his throat, feeling a bit of heat rise to his face as the young boy grinned at him. "Thank you, Itadori-kun." he said, his voice steady yet softer than usual. "Now, let’s make our way. It’ll be hard to find a store open late."
Yuuji’s grin widened, but he nodded obediently, falling into step beside Nanami. "Right, Nanamin! Let’s get moving."
As they walked through the dimly lit streets, Nanami couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. Despite the vulnerability of revealing a part of his personal life, he found solace in Yuuji’s reaction. He thinks his reaction was endearing, too. Nanami Kento thinks that he realizes the extent of the boy’s unfiltered happiness. It was like a deep uncharted ocean. But it was nice, how warm it was, his genuine response.
Nanami Kento thinks that learning more about being an adult is because of Itadori Yuuji than anything else. And he thinks that’s lovely, and perhaps you will think the same. The children are the future, after all. And their joys will always be a reminder of the simple joys that still existed, even amidst their perilous world. Perhaps that’s why Gojo Satoru gave him the boy. Gojo’s always been astute about that sort of thing, but Nanami thinks that he doesn’t have the capability of saying it out loud.
"Say Nanamin," Yuuji began, his tone conversational, more casual than before. Comfortable. "What's your wife’s favorite thing to cook?"
Nanami glanced at Yuuji, a small smile playing on his lips. "Well, my wife has a knack for many dishes, but my wife’s favorite to cook is a traditional Japanese meal. My wife loves making it, and I must admit, it’s my favorite to eat. Perhaps more than Danish or Filipino dishes.”
Yuuji's eyes sparkled with interest. "That sounds amazing! Do you ever help out in the kitchen?"
Nanami releases a small laugh, the sound carrying a warmth that feels foreign yet welcome. Yuuji thinks that he feels like he is going to smile wider. Happiness looks good in Nanamin’s face. "I do, when I can. I take days off sometimes. But my wife likes doing most of the cooking. My wife says that I’m more of a hindrance than help, though. But it’s the effort that counts, or so my wife tells me."
Yuuji laughed, the sound bright and full of life. "I bet you’re better than you think, Nanamin. It sounds like you two have a lot of fun together."
Nanami’s expression softened, the memories of their shared moments filling him with a gentle warmth. "We do. I’m happy to say that." he admitted, his voice quiet but filled with affection. "In those moments, everything else fades away. It’s just us, and that’s more than enough."
THE SMELL OF GRILLED SALMON MADE NANAMI HAPPY. You were always a much better cook than him, he thinks. He always looked forward to coming home and having a nice hearty meal when you made it for him. The thought of your cooking brought a soft smile to his face as he and Yuuji navigated through the ryokan. He gently handed the young boy slippers, which was returned by a gentle smile and a whispered thanks.
The weight of the day seemed to melt away as he stepped further into the warm embrace of your shared home. The familiar, comforting aroma of your cooking wafted through the air, mingling with the soft, ambient sounds of home. It was a stark contrast to the chaos and danger he faced daily, a sanctuary that he cherished more than anything.
Loosening his tie, he took a moment to simply stand in the hallway, eyes closed, breathing in the scents and sounds that spoke of love and normalcy. Each time he returned, he was reminded of just how much these simple, everyday moments meant to him. It wasn’t just the meals or the comfort of the house—it was you. Your presence was the balm to his weary soul, the light that guided him through the darkest of times.
As he walked toward the kitchen, he could hear you humming softly to yourself, a tune that brought a smile to his face. He paused at the doorway. He was going to take in this moment. Itadori Yuuji was just behind him. Both of them take in the sound of your tender humming. Kento was sure that you were also gracefully dancing on the other side, expertly preparing dinner. There was something almost magical in the way you worked, turning ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary. It wasn’t just food; it was an expression of your love and care, a daily reminder of how much you meant to each other.
He walks and then stops for a moment, where a wall separates the dining room and the kitchen. Nanami Kento often marveled at how effortlessly you could turn simple ingredients into something extraordinary. The kitchen was your domain, where you wielded spices and herbs with the same precision he applied to exorcizing curses. He watches as your humming intensifies as you move around the kitchen, your movements lively and excited.
There was a particular comfort in the routine you had established together in these many years of marriage. He enjoyed it, every single time. After a long, arduous day, he would come home to the welcoming warmth of your embrace and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. You had a way of making every meal special, infusing each dish with a warmth that spoke of your love and care. He knew he was lucky, every single day — to be in your loving arms, to be cared for and adored by you.
As he walked toward the kitchen, he could hear you humming softly to yourself, a tune that brought a smile to his face. He paused at the doorway, taking in the sight of you moving gracefully, expertly preparing dinner. There was something almost magical in the way you worked, turning ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary. It wasn’t just food; it was an expression of your love and care, a daily reminder of how much you meant to each other.
Clearing his throat, your Kento stepped into the kitchen. "It smells amazing, my love." he said, his voice warm with affection.
You turned around, startled, and your cheeks flushed as you saw him standing there. "Kento, baby! I didn’t hear you come in." you said, quickly setting down the spoon you were holding. Then you noticed Yuuji standing behind him, grinning widely, and your blush deepened. "Oh! Yuu–chan, welcome. I–I’m sorry you had to see me in that state! My humming must have been so loud!"
Yuuji gave you a cheerful wave. "Hello, Mrs. Nanami! I didn’t mean to intrude, but Nanamin invited me over."
You wiped your hands on a towel, trying to regain your composure. "It’s no trouble at all. And please, you don’t have to be formal with me. You’re always welcome here, Yuu–chan!"
Nanami watched as Yuuji smiled wider at your response. He stepped closer to you, his presence calming your flustered nerves. "Your humming was great." he said softly, his eyes filled with affection. “I’m home, my love.”
You smiled up at him, the embarrassment fading away in the warmth of his gaze. "I’m glad you’re home, Kento." you replied, reaching up to touch his cheek.
Yuuji watched the interaction with a happy grin. "You two are so cute, Nana–san!" he said, unable to hide his delight.
You laughed, the sound light and happy. Kento didn’t know how to feel with the nickname that Yuuji gave you, but if you were happy about it, then he doesn’t think it’s anything to be having a fuss over. "Thank you, Yuu–chan. Why don’t you take a seat? You must be so hungry! Oh, you should eat a lot. You seem to be getting thin! Come here and wash up. Dinner is almost ready.”
“Thank you, Nana–san!”
You grinned. “Oh, it’s my pleasure! Now go and wash up. Have a good warm one, okay? Ah, and the towels and some clothes are in a cabinet in front of the bathroom!”
Yuuji grinned and waved at you and Kento before he headed over to the direction you pointed and left. Kento crossed his arms and sighed. You were still smiling. “I’m glad you took that boy home. He seems to be such a lovely young man, Kento.”
“Hm. Itadori–kun’s a good kid.”
“Like Megumi–kun, hm?”
“Well, Fushiguro–kun’s a different sort of kid.”
As you turned back to the stove with an agreeable hum, your husband stepped closer, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind. You smile as he rests his chin on your shoulder. "Do you need any help?" he asked, his voice a low murmur in your ear.
You leaned back against him, savoring the feeling of his embrace. "Just keep me company," you said softly. "That’s all I need."
“How was your day?”
“It's really good.” You whisper to your husband, satisfied. “I finished my manuscript. I sent it to my editor. I’m just waiting for feedback.”
“What did you do for the rest of the day?” He asked softly, his eyes shifting to look at you tenderly. “I hope you rested. You must have worked through the manuscript without taking a break again, hm?”
It was quick for him to pick up on your ears turning red. He was right. “....I did sleep, you know. I rested a lot after. I knew you would be worried if I didn’t.”
“Ah, so that’s why you didn’t reply to my text.”
“Huh, what do you think I was doing?” You pouted as you looked at him.
He grins. “I thought you were crying about your 3D man on Twitter again.”
You blush even harder. “Ahhhh, Kento! I wasn’t, I was sleeping!”
“Hm, that’s a win for me then.”
“You tease, you!”
Itadori Yuuji had gotten out of the shower and stopped his tracks when he saw the two of you bantering. It was something interesting to see. So far, he’d only known the blond to be stern and stoic, perhaps serious and strict too. But he could not help but feel warmth when he saw how he is with you, his wife. He could only watch with a mix of admiration and amusement as Nanami Kento stayed close to you as you finished preparing the meal.
At times, Yuuji could not help wondering if his mother and father had ever done something like this. If he was being honest, he doesn’t remember much about his parents. And grandpa really didn’t talk much about them when he was growing up. But Yuuji still liked to imagine. He liked to imagine a warm, happy home. Where his parents were there, waiting for him. With a warm meal, a loving hug and a laughing face.
For a moment, he couldn’t help but imagine that this was home. That this was his own little happy home. With a mother and a father that loved each other, with a warm meal on the way for his belly and a tender greeting with that laughing face for him. Itadori Yuuji thinks that maybe just this once, even just tonight, he’d like to keep this moment as it was and carve it in his memory.
You were the first to notice that he had returned. You turned around as Kento moved away. You were still a bit flustered but smiled at him. “Did you have a good shower, Yuu–chan? Dinner’s almost ready, you can sit down!”
Yuuji smiled widely. “Yes, I did! Thank you for welcoming me again, Nana–san.”
You waved him off. “Oh, don’t even think about it, Yuu–chan. We’re glad to have you here!”
“Itadori–kun, come here.” Nanami calls to him, waving for him to come. “Help me set up the table for the meal.”
“Yes, of course, Nanamin!” He nodded, immediately coming over.
They settled the table as you began putting the dishes on the plates. You grinned as you turned to set the dishes on the table, your heart swelling with affection as you watched your husband indulge Yuuji in a conversation about how to properly plate a table. Yuuji, with his usual wide-eyed curiosity, listened intently as Nanami explained the intricacies of table setting—how the forks and knives should be arranged, the importance of the right glassware, and even the subtle art of folding napkins.
You could see the delight in Yuuji’s eyes as he absorbed every detail, and it warmed your chest to see Kenyto share his knowledge so patiently. It was clear that Kento was savoring this moment quietly, enjoying the chance to mentor and connect with Yuuji in this simple yet meaningful way. His usual reserved demeanor softened into something more tender and nurturing, and you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of happiness.
The kitchen was alive with the sounds of your evening together—laughter, the clinking of utensils, and the occasional lighthearted banter. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, a stark contrast to the challenges Nanami faced outside. You moved around the table, placing the final touches on the meal, while the two of them continued their engaging discussion.
"See, Itadori–kun." Nanami said, demonstrating the correct way to position a knife beside the plate. "The blade should always face inward, toward the plate. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference."
Yuuji nodded, his expression one of earnest concentration. "Got it! I’ll have to remember that. Thanks for the tips, Nanamin."
You couldn’t help but smile as you watched them. The sight of Kento imparting his knowledge with such care and Yuuji absorbing it with enthusiasm filled you with a profound sense of contentment. It was moments like these that reminded you of the beauty of simple connections, the joy of sharing everyday experiences, and the happiness that came from seeing the people you loved come together.
As you finished setting the table, you joined the conversation, your voice blending with theirs in easy harmony. The meal was ready, and the table was set with all the care Kento had described. The three of you chatted effortlessly, the conversation flowing naturally between you. Yuuji asked questions, Nanami answered with a mixture of expertise and humor, and you added your own touches to the discussion.
The kitchen was filled with laughter and the clinking of dishes, creating a symphony of warmth and joy. As you all sat down to enjoy the meal, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of fulfillment. The love and connection you shared with Nanami, now extended to Yuuji in these small, everyday moments, made you realize just how precious and meaningful these times were.
In the midst of the shared meal, as the conversation continued and the laughter echoed through the room, you felt incredibly grateful. The sight of Nanami treating Yuuji with such kindness, the ease of their interactions, and the warmth of your home created a beautiful tapestry of everyday joy. And as you looked around the table, surrounded by the people you loved, you knew that these were the moments you would cherish forever.
As the meal drew to a close, you noticed that Yuuji’s eyes were beginning to droop. The day's excitement and the hearty dinner had taken their toll. You glanced at your husband, who met your gaze with a knowing smile.
“Yuu–chan.” you said gently, placing a hand on his shoulder. “It’s getting late, and you must be tired. Why don’t you head to the guest room and get some rest? You’re welcome to stay the night if you’d like.”
Yuuji blinked, a little surprised but clearly pleased. “Oh, really? I didn’t mean to impose, Nana–san…”
“You’re not imposing at all, Yuu–chan.” you reassured him with a warm smile. “You’re always welcome here. Always. We’d be happy to have you stay.”
Yuuji’s face lit up with a genuine smile. “Thank you so much! I’d love to stay. It’s been a while since I had a home-cooked meal like this, and spending time with you both has been really nice.”
Kento nodded, his expression tender. “I’m glad you enjoyed it. The guest room is all set for you. Let me show you where it is.”
As your husband led Yuuji toward the guest room, you decided to go on ahead and tidy up the table and cleaned the remaining dishes before your husband came back. Your husband always insists on doing it, but he is already tired. It feels nice for you, you think — to make sure that the home is clean for your lovely husband to relax in. The sounds of their footsteps and quiet conversation in the hallway were a comforting backdrop to your evening chores. They still must be talking upstairs, if they were still walking about. A few minutes later, your husband returned, his demeanor still soft and content.
“You know you didn’t have to wash it up, my love.” He presses a kiss on your cheek as you dry your hands. “I would have wanted to do it.”
You smile at him. “I know, but I wanted to do it. You deserve some rest.”
“So do you.” He sighs, growing softer as he looks at you. “I’ll do it tomorrow, hm? The whole day.”
You playfully roll your eyes, smiling wider. “Fine, if you insist.”
He smiles. “Good.”
“So, how is Yuu–chan?” You asked as you started untying your apron. “He must be exhausted.”
“Hm. He’s about to get ready for bed. He didn’t sleep much yesterday, so he should start to fall asleep soon.”
You sighed. “Poor boy. Well, he can stay as much as he likes. I doubt Sato–chan would be home early to pick him up again. Let him stay with us until then.”
“That’s what I told Gojo.”
“Good.” You smiled at him. “Then I could continue to cook for him. Pamper him, even!”
“You really made Itadori–kun’s night, my love.” Nanami said, his voice filled with appreciation. “He looked genuinely happy.”
You smiled at your husband. “He’s a good kid. I’m glad we could make him feel at home. It’s nice to share our home with someone who means so much to you. And well, someone who is dear to me now too.”
Kento walked closer to you, pulling you into a gentle embrace. “Thank you for making him feel welcome. I know it means a lot to him. And to me.”
You rested your head against his chest, savoring the warmth of his hug. “It’s what family is all about. And you know, it’s nice to have another person to share our home with.”
As you both stood there, the tranquility of the evening enveloping you, Nanami kissed the top of your head. “Let’s go check on him before we head to bed. It’s always nice to say goodnight.”
You nodded, and together you walked down the hallway to the guest room. The door was slightly ajar, and you could see Yuuji already settling in, his face relaxed and content. The blacket was covering him well enough. It was a cold night, so you were at least glad for that. You smiled at him.
“Hi, Yuu–chan. We just wanted to come up and say goodnight.” you said softly, peeking into the room. “Sleep well, hm? As much as you like, it’s okay. Remember, you have a home here with Kento and I whenever you want.”
Yuuji looked up, his eyes bright with gratitude. “Thank you, Nana–san, really. I’ll definitely take you up on that whenever I can. Nanamin already said the same thing, but really….I’m grateful to both of you.”
You smiled at him warmly. For a moment, Yuuji thinks that it would be a smile that only loving mothers can pull off. “Of course, don’t worry. Good night, Yuu–chan. Get some rest.”
With a final wave and a warm smile, you and Kento quietly closed the door and made your way back to your own room. The house felt even more like a home with Yuuji’s presence. And you were glad for it. As you looked at your husband, you knew that he felt the same way. You leaned against him, satisfied, happily. This was a happy night.
epilogue
The warmth of the evening lingered, and you felt a happy contentment settle over you as you changed into your pajamas. Nanami Kento was already in bed, propped up against the pillows and reading a book. You slid under the covers next to him, resting your head on his shoulder.
"Kento, baby." you said, your tone light and playful. “I have thoughts I wanna say out loud.”
"Hmm?" He glanced down at you, his expression softening. “What are they about, my love?”
"I’ve been thinking, you know….I don’t think it’s crazy to think this, what I’m thinking." you began, a mischievous twinkle in your eye. "Maybe we should adopt Yuu–chan."
Nanami blinked, clearly taken aback. "Adopt Itadori–kun?"
You nodded, trying to keep a straight face. "Yes, he’s such a sweet boy, Kento. And he already seems like part of the family. Plus, he clearly adores you. And you clearly adore him. I’m sure it’s mutual between him and I. So, we might as well make it happen!”
Nanami chuckled, the sound deep and warm. "You do realize he’s already got Gojo as his current guardian, right? I doubt the higher–ups will allow us to take Itadori–kun.”
You pouted. "Yes, but think about it. I’m sure Sato–chan can convince everyone to make us Yuu–chan’s parents. He’d bring so much energy into the house. Imagine all the laughter and fun. And you’d get to give him more life advice about girls, well even boys. I’m sure we’ll love him no matter what, you know?”
Kento closed his book, setting it aside. "And what would you get out of this arrangement?"
"Oh, just the joy of seeing you two bond even more. Being his mother…." you said with a laugh. "And maybe some help with the cooking. I can think some more, I’m sure.”
Kento shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips. "You’re incorrigible, my love.”
"But you love me still, hm?" you said, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
"That I do, my love." he agreed, wrapping his arm around you. "But I think we should leave the adopting to those who don’t have to face curses every day."
You sighed dramatically, still pouting. "Fine, fine. But I still think it’s a good idea."
Kento laughed, pulling you closer. "Maybe we can settle for having him over for dinner more often. How does that sound?"
You snuggled into his embrace, your smile widening. "Perfect. And who knows, maybe he’ll start calling you his dad! And me, his mom!”
Kento groaned playfully. "Now that’s a terrifying thought."
You laughed, the sound mingled with his, and the two of you drifted off to sleep, the warmth of your love and the lightheartedness of your conversation wrapping around you like a cozy blanket.
“But maybe when you retire….”
“......I’ll think about it.”
“I love you so much!” You say, kissing his shoulder.
You hear him sigh, content. “I love you too.”

after a day that felt like an eternity, matt trudged into the house, trailing behind his brothers. the door slammed shut with a resounding thud, echoing his frustration. without a moment's hesitation, he strode to his room, the door crashing shut behind him, sealing him off from the world.
you were sprawled on the couch, your eyes drifting to nick and chris. their silent exchange, marked by simultaneous shrugs, spoke volumes in the unspoken language of shared uncertainty.
you let out a soft sigh, rising from your seat and making your way to his room. with a gentle knock on the door, you hesitated, the sound barely more than a whisper against the wood.
"what?" he uttered, his tone laced with palpable aggravation. his eyes narrowed, and his jaw tightened as he shifted his weight, the tension in his posture unmistakable.
"matt, it’s me, baby," you responded, your voice tender and soothing. you stood there, the silence stretching between you, a fragile bridge of unspoken emotions.
but then, you heard the faint click of the lock turning. a soft smile tugged at the corners of your lips as the door slowly creaked open, revealing his hesitant figure.
your gaze fell upon matt, who was slouched in his gaming chair, his fingers deftly scrolling through his phone. an aggravated expression marred his features, his brow furrowed in a mixture of frustration and distraction.
you closed the door behind you with a soft click, the sound barely audible in the stillness of the room. walking up to him, you gently wrapped your arms around his shoulders from behind, feeling the immediate tension ripple through his body at your touch.
"what's troubling you, hm?" you ask softly, your voice barely above a whisper, as matt grumbles in response, his discontent palpable.
"nothing, i'm fine," he grumbled, his eyes still glued to the screen of his phone. you sighed, the weight of his unspoken thoughts hanging heavily in the air between you.
you pressed a tender kiss to the top of his head. "no, you're not," you whispered softly. "want me to run you a bath?"
"no, i don't need a bath, i'm not a baby," matt responds, his tone laced with irritation and defiance.
your mind paced back and forth, your heart heavy with concern as you considered all the things you could do to make matt feel better. you imagined yourself bustling around the kitchen, preparing his favorite meal with care. or perhaps you could set up the living room, dimming the lights and arranging the pillows just right for a cozy movie night.
maybe you could simply sit beside him, offering your silent support, ready to listen if he chose to open up. "maybe i could cook your favorite meal? or we could watch that movie you love? or i could just sit with you, you know, if you need someone to talk to... i just want to help."
your words tumbled out in a rush, each one a desperate attempt to find the right thing to say. the sight of him in such a state of despair was unbearable, and the helplessness gnawed at you like a relentless tide. "or we could go for a walk, maybe the fresh air would help? i could—"
matt's expression darkened, a storm brewing behind his eyes, and he suddenly snapped, "shut up! just shut up, okay? i don't need you to fix everything! you think you can just say a few nice words and everything will be fine? you're so clueless. just leave me alone."
his harsh words cut through you like a knife, leaving you standing there, stunned and hurt, as the room seemed to close in around you. you opened your mouth to respond, but no words came out. the silence that followed was heavy, thick with the weight of things unsaid and the sting of his anger. it was as if the air itself had turned solid, pressing in on you, suffocating and relentless.
"matt, i'm just trying to help," you finally managed to say, your voice trembling like a fragile leaf in the wind. "i care about you. i don't want to see you like this." the words felt inadequate, mere whispers against the raging storm of his emotions, but they were all you had to offer in that moment of raw vulnerability.
"well, maybe i don't want your help!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the room like a thunderclap. "maybe i just want you to stop pretending like you understand. you don't know what i'm going through, and you never will. so just stop." his words reverberated, each one a dagger that pierced the fragile fabric of your connection, leaving you both adrift in a sea of unspoken pain and misunderstood intentions.
"but i want to understand," you said, tears welling up in your eyes, glistening like morning dew. "i want to be there for you. why won't you let me in?" your voice quivered, each word a desperate plea, echoing with the raw ache of your heart's earnest desire to bridge the chasm between you.
"because you can't fix this!" he yelled, his voice breaking like a fragile glass. "you can't make everything better with your stupid suggestions. sometimes things are just broken, and there's nothing you can do about it." his words were jagged shards, cutting through the air, filled with the raw, unyielding truth of his anguish.
you stood there, feeling the weight of his words, the pain in his voice. the room seemed to grow colder, the distance between you and matt widening like a chasm with each passing second. you longed to reach out, to bridge that ever-growing gap, but uncertainty paralyzed you. all you could do was stand there, feeling helpless and heartbroken, as the silence between you deepened.
you stood there for a moment, tears streaming down your face like rivers of sorrow, before you finally turned and walked out of the room. the door closed behind you with a soft, final click, leaving matt alone in the suffocating silence.
as soon as you were gone, the weight of his words hit him like a ton of bricks. guilt washed over him, and he realized just how cruel he had been. he couldn't stand the thought of you hurting because of him. the enormity of his harshness settled upon him like an unbearable burden, suffocating him with regret.
without thinking, he rushed after you, driven by a desperate urgency. "wait, y/n!" he called out, his voice breaking like fragile glass. "please, don't go." his plea hung in the air, a raw testament to his regret and longing.
you stopped in the hallway, wiping your tears away, but you couldn't bring yourself to turn around. "what, matt? what do you want now?" your voice was shaky, filled with hurt. your voice trembled, laden with the weight of your pain and the fragility of your breaking heart.
he reached out and gently turned you to face him, his eyes filled with regret. "i'm sorry," he said, his voice soft. "i didn't mean any of it. i was just... i was angry and took it out on you. you don't deserve that." his voice, barely above a whisper, carried the weight of a thousand unspoken apologies, each word a fragile attempt to mend the shattered pieces of your trust.
you looked up at him, searching his eyes for the truth. "then why did you say those things?" your voice, tinged with a blend of confusion and sorrow, sought the deeper meaning behind his words, as if unraveling the tangled threads of his heart.
he sighed, running a hand through his hair, the weight of his actions heavy on his shoulders. "because i'm an idiot. because i push away the people who care about me when i'm hurting. but the truth is, i don't find you annoying. i actually love it when you baby me. it makes me feel... cared for. loved." his confession was a raw, unfiltered glimpse into the vulnerability he had tried so hard to conceal, a desperate plea for understanding and forgiveness.
your heart softened at his words, yet the lingering pain refused to fade. "then why didn't you just say that?" your voice, a delicate blend of tenderness and lingering hurt, sought clarity amidst the storm of emotions, yearning for the truth that had been hidden behind his walls.
"because i'm scared," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "i'm scared of being vulnerable. but i don't want to lose you. i need you, y/n. i need you more than you know." his confession trembled in the air, a fragile admission of his deepest fears, each word a testament to the battle waged within his heart, torn between the shadows of his insecurities and the light of his longing for you.
you took a deep breath, feeling the sincerity in his words. "i'm here, matt. i'm always here. but you have to let me in. you have to let me help." your voice, steady yet tender, carried the weight of your unwavering commitment, a gentle plea for him to dismantle the barriers he had built, allowing you to be the solace he so desperately needed.
he nodded, pulling you into a tight embrace. "i will. i promise. i'm so sorry for what i said. i love you, y/n. i really do." his voice, choked with emotion, resonated with a profound sincerity, each word a tender vow, as his arms wrapped around you, bridging the chasm that had once separated your hearts.
you hugged him back, feeling the warmth of his love and the promise of better days ahead. "i love you too, matt. just... don't shut me out again, okay?" your voice, a delicate blend of hope and lingering apprehension, sought reassurance, yearning for a future where walls no longer stood between your intertwined souls.
"i won't," he whispered, holding you close. "i won't." his voice, barely audible, carried a solemn vow, each repetition a fervent promise etched into the silence, as he clung to you, determined to never let the shadows of doubt come between you again.
as you stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the world around you seemed to fade away. the hurt and anger that had driven a wedge between you began to dissolve, replaced by a newfound understanding and a deeper connection.
matt pulled back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes. "i've been such a fool," he said, his voice filled with regret. "i thought pushing you away would protect me, but all it did was hurt the one person who means the most to me." his gaze, laden with sorrow and remorse, bore into yours, revealing the depth of his self-inflicted torment. the realization of his misguided attempts at self-preservation had shattered the facade he had built, leaving behind a raw vulnerability that spoke volumes of his love and regret.
"you don't have to protect yourself from me," you replied softly. "i'm here to stand by your side, to support you, to love you. but you have to let me in, matt. you have to trust me." your voice, tender yet resolute, wove through the air like a gentle plea, each word a testament to your unwavering commitment. the sincerity in your eyes mirrored the depth of your devotion, offering him a sanctuary of trust and understanding, if only he would open the door to his guarded heart.
he nodded, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "i do trust you. it's just... hard for me to show it sometimes. but i promise, i'll try. i'll do better." his voice trembled with the weight of his unspoken fears, each tear shimmering like a fragile promise on the brink of falling. the struggle within him was palpable, a testament to the silent battles he fought, yet his words carried a determined resolve, a vow to bridge the chasm that had once separated your hearts.
you smiled, a small but genuine smile that lit up your face. "that's all i ask. just be honest with me, and we'll get through anything together." your smile, though modest, radiated a warmth that seemed to chase away the lingering shadows. your words, gentle yet firm, wove a tapestry of hope and resilience, a promise that no storm could tear asunder the bond you shared, as long as honesty remained your guiding star.
matt leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. "thank you," he whispered. "thank you for giving me another chance." his lips lingered for a moment, the tender caress a silent testament to his gratitude. his whisper, barely audible yet profoundly heartfelt, carried the weight of his remorse and the fragile hope of redemption, as he sought solace in the sanctuary of your unwavering compassion.
"we all make mistakes," you said, your voice tender. "what matters is that we learn from them and grow. and i believe in us, matt. i believe we can make it through this." your words, infused with gentle wisdom, wove a delicate tapestry of hope and resilience. each syllable resonated with a profound understanding that the path to redemption is paved with lessons learned and hearts willing to mend.
with those words, a sense of peace settled over both of you. it wouldn't be easy, and there would be challenges ahead, but you knew that as long as you faced them together, you could overcome anything. and in that moment, wrapped in each other's arms, you felt a renewed sense of hope and love, ready to take on whatever the future held.

Monaco Nights
Charles Leclerc x hairdresser!reader 。・:*˚:✧。
Masterlist can be found in navigation!
Word count: 934
A/N: sorry i've been gone everyone! My school just finished school so now I will hopefully have more time to write!
Charles comes home in a grumpy mood, after Ferrari continuously flopping, and little to no points for the team once again, his unsuccessful weekend is heavily affecting his mood. He arrives at Y/N’s apartment in the middle of the night, knocking on the door, hoping she's awake to comfort him.
A small knock and the sound of buzzing from her phone woke her up. The girl checks her phone, noticing a text from Chalres saying he is outside. Y/N as well as Charles’ family have been watching the races, they all understood how hurt the driver must be feeling after another devastating weekend for Ferrari.
Y/N gets out of bed, sliding some slippers on as she makes her way to her front door. She opens the door, the pair looking at one another before Y/N holds her arms open for Charles. He gladly lets himself in, holding his girlfriend as tight as he can before the pair pull apart and walk deeper into her apartment.
Quietly they walk over to Y/N’s bed, the girl getting under the covers as Charles anxiously sits above them, staring blankly at the decorated wall in front of him. Y/N watches him in silence wondering what was running through his mind.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” Y/N whispers inching herself closer to Charles.
“How did this happen, me and carlos? I'm just,” he pauses, “Im at a loss for words I guess.” he falls back onto the bed, his head now laying on the pillow. Y/N cuddles into him, placing her head on his chest.
“I'm sorry I'm over so late, I was just too anxious to go to sleep.” Y/N lifts her head, resting her chin against him, now looking at him face to face.
“You know what my mom and I used to do when I couldn't sleep?” Charles looks at her and shrugs. “We would go on a walk.”
Y/N lifts herself off the bed, going to her closet to put on a pair of walking shoes and one of Charles sweatshirts. Grabbing an extra sweatshirt for her boyfriend who came empty handed. Charles lifts himself from the worm mattress and takes the sweatshirt from Y/N’s hands.
“So where exactly are we going?” Charles questions the determined girl in front of him.
“We are going wherever our legs take us, or at least until we get tired enough to head back.” Y/N smiles at her boyfriend, taking in everyone of his features before reaching her hand out for Charles to take.
Gladly, the driver locks his hand in hers, the pair leaving the apartment, Y/N locking the door behind them. The pair makes small conversation as they exit the building, keeping quiet, not wanting to wake up anyone around them.
When they finally make it outside the moon shines brightly above them, Charles takes a moment to look up, taking deep breaths as Y/N starts stretching beside him. Once she's done the pair start their walk hand and hand around Monaco. Y/N still being fairly new to the city, Charles acts as her tour guide, pointing out all the major touristy spots while giving her little historical facts about each part.
Y/N could tell the walk is getting him out of his head and calming him down. No one loves Monaco more than her boyfriend and seeing him talk about his love for his hometown just makes this walk all the more special.
The pair find their way to the doc, Y/N wrapping her arms tighter around herself feeling every breeze around them. Charles shows her everywhere, taking her closer to the beach letting her get a closer look at the blue water.
“It's so pretty.” Y/N lets the warm surround her hand, before pulling it out and turning back to Charles.
“It is very pretty, I really want to take you and my family on my yacht, especially with the summer weather it would be perfect.” he looks out at the ocean ahead of him.
“I would love that.”
“Perfect.” Charles and Y/N start walking back to the street. The couple taking in all the sights and sounds. “Your maman is a smart woman, the walk is helping…a lot.” Charles says, directing his attention back to his girlfriend.
“She is isnt she?” Y/N smiles, “I'm glad you're feeling better, do you wanna maybe head back now?” Y/N tries to hide her yawn.
“Of course mon amour.” he pulls Y/N closer, giving her a small kiss on the forehead before the pair walk back to Y/N’s apartment arm and arm.
When they get back, Charles holds his hand out to take Y/N’s keys, unlocking the door for them as he holds the door open for his girlfriend who goes straight to her bedroom. Charles locks up behind her, taking his sweatshirt off, going through Y/N’s drawer to see if he had left pajamas there. Luckily he had.
The pair change quietly before slipping back into Y/N’s bed to cuddle. Y/N falls asleep first, her body cuddled into charles for warmth and comfort, Charles arms wrapped tightly around her as he admires his girlfriend.
“Thank you mon amour.” he gives her one last kiss before falling asleep.

im not sure if youve ever answered anything like this so like… ignore if you have or want to BUT!!! i gotta know what you think of pc with memory loss/amnesia… maybe its from a bad accent, maybe some sort of wacky brain response to something or other… but they dont remember much (if anything) about the LIs… 💔
I wanna say I saw someone do an amnesia thing with either PC or Kylar like ages ago. I wish I knew who it was bc it was good. I guess I must take the touch now.
Whitney is angry. Angry that you got hurt, that you don't remember him. He tries to pretend like it doesn't affect him but it does, a lot. He stares after you all the time, hoping you'll look at him. That he'll see some kinda of recognition in your eyes.
Kylar is devastated. You don't know him? You don't remember him? He tries to be nice and wait it out but he becomes manic quickly and takes you. Let's hope you remember soon, or pretend to.
Robin is crying. You're his best friend and he's heartbroken that you don't remember anything, especially your time in the ward. He works with you all the time, hoping to help you regain your memory.
P!Sydney is very sad and probably cries too. Does so much research and does all he can to help.
Alex is shocked, he didn't think the fall from the hay barn was that bad. Tries so hard to make you remember and will drink heavily when everything fails.
Avery is surprised. You lost your memory? Well, you don't exactly need that to go on dates for money.
Eden is a mix of Whitney and Kylar. You aren't leaving the cabin.

The silence was a suffocating thing.
As you stirred, the weight of the world seemed to press down harder, the thin mattress beneath you offering no relief from the crushing heaviness in your chest. For a moment, you wondered if you had even woken up at all—if this was some dream, another layer of the nightmare you’d been living for what felt like years. Your body ached in ways that had nothing to do with the physical, and when your eyes blinked open, the dim, sterile light of the room greeted you like a cold slap.
It was over.
That thought should have brought you comfort, but instead, it twisted like a knife in your gut.
The world had been saved—or at least, what was left of it. The battles had been fought, the enemies had fallen, and you had survived. You were here, alive. But the silence felt wrong, unnatural, as if the air itself was too still, too empty. There was no joy in this victory. There was no peace. Only the lingering sense of loss, of something irreplaceable that had been shattered.
You forced yourself to sit up, but every movement felt sluggish, like wading through thick mud. The room spun briefly, and for a moment, you wished you hadn’t woken at all. It was easier to stay in the dark, easier to float in the void where you didn’t have to think, didn’t have to remember.
But now, in the unforgiving light of the aftermath, the memories came flooding back, sharp and relentless.
How many lives had been lost for this so-called peace? How many faces—friends, comrades, strangers—had fallen, their blood staining the ground? And for what? What had really changed? The world might have been saved, but it was broken, fractured beyond recognition. There was no returning to what once was. The faces you had fought alongside, the ones who had smiled and laughed, were now ghosts that haunted the corners of your mind.
The weight of that realization settled over you, heavy and suffocating, pulling you down into a sea of doubt. Was any of it worth it? All the fighting, all the sacrifice—what had you really gained?
The faces of the fallen swam before your eyes, one after another. Some you had known intimately, others were mere fleeting acquaintances, but each one carried the same hollow finality. You had fought so hard, given so much, and yet, as you sat there in the cold stillness, it felt like none of it mattered. The world you had bled for had become a graveyard of lost dreams, and the future felt as distant as the stars.
The despair clawed at your throat, threatening to choke you.
Why had you fought so hard? Why had you pushed yourself beyond the breaking point? The names of the dead weighed heavily on your heart, and with each one, you wondered if there had been something more you could have done, some way to save them. But deep down, you knew the answer. You knew you had given everything, and still, it wasn’t enough. It was never enough.
Your mind spiraled, the emptiness inside you expanding, swallowing up every thought, every hope. Maybe it had all been for nothing. Maybe, in the end, the fight had taken more from you than you could ever give back. The victory felt hollow, a brittle shell masking the loss beneath.
And then there was him.
Your heart clenched painfully at the thought of Megumi. You had fought not just for yourself, not just for the world, but for him—for the people you loved, for the ones who gave you reason to keep going. But now, in this empty room, with only the echoes of your failures and fears, you weren’t sure if even that had been enough.
Was he okay? Did he make it out? The thought twisted in your mind, dark and relentless. The last you had seen of him was chaos—the blur of battle, the surge of cursed energy, his figure moving like a shadow through the carnage. You had called out his name, over and over, your voice hoarse, but he had vanished into the storm. And after that, everything had gone black.
What if…?
Your chest tightened, the panic rising like bile in your throat. What if he was gone? What if he had been one of the lives lost to the war? You couldn’t bear the thought. You didn’t know if you could survive that. You couldn’t even think about it.
But the doubt, the fear, gnawed at you like a festering wound. The room around you blurred as your vision swam with unshed tears. It felt like you were trapped beneath the weight of it all—the guilt, the grief, the unbearable thought that maybe, despite all your efforts, you had lost him too.
Your hands clenched into fists, nails biting into the soft flesh of your palms, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the storm inside you. What was the point of surviving if you had lost everything worth fighting for? What was the point of living in a world that felt so empty?
A sob built in your throat, thick and heavy, but you swallowed it down, pressing your palms against your eyes as if that could somehow stop the flood of emotion threatening to break you. You couldn’t cry. You couldn’t fall apart, not now. But the dam was crumbling, the weight of your sorrow too great to bear.
And then, through the haze of your grief, something shifted.
It was subtle at first, just a flicker in your periphery. You blinked through the tears, your breath catching as your blurred vision cleared.
And that’s when you saw him.
Megumi.
He was standing at the foot of your bed, quiet and still, his presence a solid anchor in the storm of your emotions. For a moment, you couldn’t believe it. You stared at him, wide-eyed, as if he might vanish if you looked away. His dark hair was disheveled, his face marred with cuts and bruises, but he was alive.
Alive.
Megumi was there, solid and real, as if he had emerged from the very shadows of your despair. He didn’t speak, didn’t move, but his presence alone was a lifeline—a single thread of light cutting through the oppressive darkness that had swallowed you whole.
Your breath hitched, the sobs lodged in your throat like jagged glass, tearing at you as the tears flowed freely now. You couldn’t stop them, couldn’t hold back the flood of everything you had buried deep inside. Because he was here—he was alive. After everything, after all the loss and devastation, Megumi was still standing.
A small, fragile sob escaped your lips, and with it, the last of your strength crumbled. You reached out for him, your hand trembling, desperate to close the distance between you. Megumi stood there, watching you, his dark eyes softening, though his expression remained guarded. It was as if he, too, had been waiting—waiting for the moment when your pain would overwhelm you, when you would need him more than anything.
You didn’t even realize you were moving until you were in his arms.
Your body collided with his, and the force of your relief shattered whatever fragile walls you had left. Your hands fisted in his shirt, clinging to him as if he were the only thing keeping you from drowning. In a way, he was. Megumi had become the beacon of light in a world that had gone dark. He was your anchor, the one steady point in a storm of chaos and loss, and you held onto him as if letting go would mean losing yourself entirely.
“Megumi,” you gasped, his name spilling from your lips like a confession, like a prayer. Your voice was broken, thick with tears. “I was so scared… I thought—I thought I’d lost you.”
He stiffened for a moment, caught off guard by the intensity of your desperation, but then he relaxed. His arms came around you, hesitant at first, but then more secure, wrapping you in a warmth that seemed to seep into your very soul. The hand he placed at the small of your back pressed you closer, grounding you, keeping you tethered to the present. His other hand cradled the back of your head, his touch gentle, careful, as though he were afraid you might shatter.
“I’m here,” he murmured quietly, his voice low and soothing, but beneath the calm, you could hear the echo of his own exhaustion. “I’m here.”
You shook your head against his chest, the sobs wracking your body with a force you couldn’t control. “I couldn’t… I couldn’t do it without you. I couldn’t survive this if you were gone.”
Each word was torn from you, raw and trembling, as though they had been waiting to be spoken for too long. The fear that had haunted you, the pain of almost losing him, was finally pouring out in a flood of emotion that you could no longer hold back. And Megumi—he was your constant. Your light. The only thing keeping the world from crumbling entirely around you.
His presence, solid and unmoving, was a balm to the wounds you didn’t know how to heal. The warmth of his body against yours, the steady rise and fall of his chest, the soft hum of his heartbeat—all of it was proof that he was real, that he was here, that you hadn’t lost him to the nightmare that had claimed so many others.
You buried your face in his chest, inhaling the familiar scent of him—earth and rain, something grounding, something that had always made you feel safe. His fingers curled in your hair, not with the intent to soothe you, but to remind you that he was here, that he wasn’t going anywhere. His grip was firm, as though he, too, was holding on—not just to you, but to this moment, this fragile sense of peace you had both been denied for so long.
“I thought I lost you,” you whispered again, your voice barely audible, cracking under the weight of your tears. “I thought you were gone, and I—”
“Shh,” he interrupted gently, his voice steady, though you could feel the faint tremble in his breath. He wasn’t immune to the weight of everything you had endured together, and that vulnerability made him feel all the more real. “I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
You clung to him, your sobs quieting as the weight of his words settled over you. You didn’t need a grand declaration of love or an elaborate promise. This was Megumi—solid, quiet, unwavering—and that was enough. His presence was enough.
As the minutes passed, your tears began to subside, though the ache in your chest remained. But it wasn’t the same all-consuming despair that had threatened to swallow you whole. With Megumi’s arms around you, you felt grounded, tethered to something real, something you could hold onto. He was the light in the dark, and even in the midst of all your pain, that light gave you hope.
After a long moment, he gently pulled back, just enough to look at you. His fingers brushed your hair from your face, his gaze searching yours, filled with a tenderness that he rarely allowed anyone to see.
“You don’t have to carry this alone,” he said softly, his voice like a whisper in the stillness. “I’m with you.”
Your chest tightened, the tears still clinging to your lashes as you looked up at him. His face was marred by exhaustion, the remnants of battle still etched into his skin, but in that moment, he was everything. He was the proof that you hadn’t lost everything, that there was still something left to fight for, someone to hold onto.
“I was so afraid,” you whispered, your voice raw, breaking under the weight of the words. “Afraid I’d lose you... that you’d be just another name I’d have to carry.”
Your grip on his shirt tightened, your hands trembling. “You don’t know what it did to me... thinking you were gone, thinking I’d never see you again.”
Megumi’s brow furrowed, his expression flickering with something you couldn’t quite name—pain, maybe, or understanding. He stayed silent, but his arms remained firm around you, holding you close, as if he, too, needed this connection.
“I can’t lose you, Megumi,” you murmured, your voice trembling like a fragile thing. “Not you. Not after everything.”
Your words were heavy, laden with the truth you had kept buried for too long. He wasn’t just someone you fought alongside—he was the reason you fought, the light that had kept you going when everything else felt lost. And here he was, standing in front of you, pulling you from the depths when you couldn’t do it alone.
For a long moment, he just looked at you, his eyes dark and unreadable. But then, quietly, he spoke, his voice soft, almost tentative.
“I’m still here.”
The simplicity of it was almost too much to bear. Three words, and yet they held everything. He wasn’t offering you promises or reassurances he couldn’t keep, but in that moment, it was enough. It had to be.
You pressed your forehead to his chest, the tears still slipping down your cheeks, but softer now. “You’re everything,” you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. “I fought for this... for you. I don’t care if the world is broken, as long as I still have you.”
For a moment, there was only silence, your words hanging in the air, heavy with everything you had kept buried inside. Megumi’s chest rose and fell beneath your touch, his breath steady, but there was a tension there, something you hadn’t noticed before. Slowly, he pulled back, just enough to look at you, his gaze dark and conflicted.
His fingers brushed against your cheek, his touch soft, but there was something in his eyes—something raw, vulnerable, like he was standing on the edge of a precipice. He opened his mouth, hesitated, then spoke, his voice low and rough, filled with a weight you hadn’t expected.
“I almost gave up.”
The words hit you like a punch to the gut. You blinked, your breath catching as you looked at him, disbelief flooding your chest. Megumi? The thought alone felt wrong, impossible, and yet here he was, standing before you, saying the words you never thought you’d hear from him.
“I was... ready to let go,” he continued, his voice barely above a whisper, his gaze flickering to the side, as if he couldn’t bear to meet your eyes. “Sukuna was there, pulling at me, wearing me down until I thought... maybe it would be easier. Easier to give in, to just let it all end.”
You stared at him, your heart clenching painfully as the weight of his confession settled over you. He had been so close—closer than you’d ever realized—to losing himself, to disappearing into that darkness. And the thought of it, of him giving in to Sukuna, was almost too much to bear.
“But then... I thought about you.”
Your breath hitched, your eyes widening as his words sank in. Megumi’s gaze flickered back to yours, and this time, it was steady, intense, filled with an emotion so deep it threatened to unravel you.
“You kept me going,” he said, his voice stronger now, more certain. “Even when everything felt impossible, when I thought I was too far gone... I held on because of you. I couldn’t let go, not when you were still here. Not when I knew you’d be waiting.”
The air between you felt heavy, thick with the weight of his words, the truth of everything he had been carrying. And in that moment, you realized just how close you had come to losing him—not just to the war, but to the battle inside his own heart.
Tears welled in your eyes again, but this time they weren’t born of fear or pain. They were tears of relief, of understanding, of love so deep it ached. You had fought for him, but he had fought for you, too—for the chance to stay with you, to not let the darkness claim him completely.
“I couldn’t lose you,” you whispered, your voice breaking, but you didn’t care. “I couldn’t bear it.”
Megumi’s hand cupped your face, his thumb brushing away the tears as they fell, and for a moment, he simply held you there, his eyes searching yours. Then, quietly, with a tenderness that made your heartache, he said, “You’re the reason I’m still standing. You’re everything to me, too.”

orla i’ve supported you through everything, all the bitches harassing you in your asks, all the hate campaigns of people mass blocking you…but this is too much. i don’t care if you write dark fiction, i don’t care if your writing is controversial or looked down upon…but do NOT speak about feta cheese like that EVER again…. im disappointed and devastated
HAHAH, I apologise 🙁 I'm sure you're heavily disappointed and traumatised. I'll pay for therapy 😔
I simply cannot see the appeal. It's nothing but texture, it's just TEXTURE. NO TASTE, NOTHING. I'm sure when it's included with other ingredients that it might add a little something, but I think I'll avoid it at the moment.... Just means that there's more for you guys, right? 😅🧀

i know u dont rework arcs untill theyre complete but im very excited to see what you do with a starless clan, theres so much exciting things happening in this arc to work with. do you have any changes you already know for sure you’ll be incorporating?
No for-sures. I don't want to make any for-sures. I have ones I'm feeling but I don't want to call ANYTHING a for-sure yet. I need to find out what the ending is, WHERE this is all going, because I have a strong philosophy in my writing that a story is like a spear;
IT'S ALL ABOUT GETTING TO THE POINT.
But we are 4/6 of the way in, so I CAN start talking about thoughts!
I'm actually leaning pretty heavily towards axing Nightheart as a POV. There's still time for the books to turn around and justify it, BUT HEAR ME OUT
(Saying AS someone who is a Nightheart Enjoyer)
So far I'm really feeling that his character would benefit from us never being inside of his head, or seeing what he's been going through. As much as I WILL stand by that I enjoyed books 1 and 2 and liked his perspectives there, I'm starting to think that it would serve the story a lot better for Sunbeam and Frostpaw to be guessing just as much as we are.
We'd get introduced to Nightheart on the journey for catmint.
Sunbeam connects with him immediately, because she's tossed on this mission while she's in the middle of a swirling tide of drama. With nothing but Clerics and a hardened Rootspring to the left and her ex-bestie (exstie) to the right, he's really her only other choice for companionship. She's chronically unable to stop problems before they get out of hand, the sort of person who becomes frozen by indecision, and then here comes this Glorious Bastard
In her eyes, he's so caring, and bold, and fun! He's the first one to jump headlong into danger, to really be interested in her problems and just let her talk, and his story is so heartbreaking! A mother who's so hard on him... and his Clan is so mean all the time, but he wants to prove to all of them that he's more than just Firestar's descendant... but he was so brave to choose his own name.................
And then, when she follows him into ThunderClan, she learns he fucking lied. She changed Clans based on SOB STORIES
When she first comes, no one knows what he's been saying behind their back. Even if they did, they don't want to start trashing Nightheart right to his new mate's face. But then he LEAVES, and Sunbeam will bring up,
"Maybe it was because you were hard on him?"
And then Sparkpelt tries to agree, just to take blame onto herself and stop all this, but Finchlight's had eNOUGH and ends up setting the record straight;
"No this is DEFINITELY another tantrum. He already ran off once before."
"NO he didn't pick his own name, he stopped the whole ceremony to complain and Bramblestar gave him a compromise"
"MEAN to him?? I had to do HIS WORK because he couldn't STAY ON THE GROUND"
"Oh he's buckling under the weight of his legacy? that must be so hard. I was cat-fifteen when i punched my first fascist and he was wearing the face of my grandpa."
"His mom aba-WHAT?? ABANDONED???? OUR MOTHER WAS EXILED AND HE STAYED HOME!!!!! WE WERE CAT-FIFTEEN!!"
With this false hope shattered, Sunbeam is thrown into a devastating situation where... her mother was right. She was tricked. And now she's stuck in this new Clan without any of her old friends, without this mate who was too-good-to-be-true, the ONE impulsive choice she's made on her own in her WHOLE LIFE turns to ashes in her mouth. She can't go back, either, because Berryheart would NEVER let her live this down.
But... it's okay.
It's a slow shock, to make a choice SO impulsive and SO self-concerned, and find a safety net below her. It's going to be okay. The trials are fair. The cats of ThunderClan interrupt and speak over each other, but, that teaches her to be more assertive. Sparkpelt and Finchlight are not the mean assholes that Nightheart built them up to be, and they'll support her no matter what she chooses to do with her possible mate.
I want Nightheart TO get better, but, in order for that to happen, he has to face, and, more importantly, ACCEPT consequences. He needs to develop the maturity to say, "I acted like a brat and didn't appreciate what I had. and I'm sorry. you don't have to forgive me."
Bottom line being, Nightheart is striking me lately as a character that works best as unpredictable, because we have NO IDEA what's truly in his head. It would be interesting for him to have a novella later, but as it stands, his POV has consistently just been a duplicate since he joined ShadowClan. We gained NOTHING from splitting the Frostpaw Journey of the newest book in half POV, and VERY little from splitting the ShadowClan one into half POV.
I might reduce the POVs to 2, just Sunbeam and Frostpaw, or change Nightheart's to Lightleap. If I NEED 3 main characters, then they should all be a consistent camera on different parts of the conflict.
Again. I do not commit to changes until the arcs are done. Nothing in BB!ASC is set yet.
But here's some other little things I'm thinking,
Bramblestar is VOTED out.
He does not step down. The little "game" he played with Nightheart to create a situation to yell at Squilf, who hasn't been his mate in a long time in BB, was the LAST straw for ThunderClan.
They had sympathy for him before that point, because of what he went through with Ashfur, but his leadership was long and controversial even before the Impostor.
And there's a really strong sentiment that IF Bramblestar had been a good leader... they would have realized he was possessed sooner. So, there are those who partially blame him for the tyranny of the Impostor.
Basically; enough is enough.
Berryheart's hate group has ACTUAL consequences. Someone gets killed; probably Antfur, who survived the last arc to die here.
More fights. This arc has been too bloodless. Already planning SEVERAL sudden, random brawls in RiverClan as tensions boil.
Heartstar is going to be MORE controversial. Not controversial enough in canon imo. I don't like how Leaf and Squilf seem like they have "hypothetical" issues with the invasion instead of being able to point at REAL ones.
riverclan didn't forget how to do the chores they've done their WHOLE lives, no. I'm going to talk about POWER VACUUMS and create ACTUAL factions that begin to coagulate in RiverClan.
if we're going to have a brainless plot about how "Well Ackshually democracy has enough problems to make us reconsider not having unaccountable, tyrannical dictators, because a vote could maybe be called over One Single Issue" then I'll talk about shit like the spoiler effect, mob mentality, and factionalism. Get the hell out of my way ERIN I'll cook
No Smoky. Society has progressed past the need for Smoky. No Smokyng Area.
Whistlepaw should to try and take care of her ALONE, not trained enough to take care of SUCH bad wounds and barely able to keep her trembling paws straight, and Frostpaw realizes that she's making her watch her own friend die.
Is this how her life is going to end? slipping away under the paws of someone she loves, for what? pride? to do what her mother told her-- trust no cat?
As she TRUSTS Whistlepaw? Trusts her SO much, that Frostpaw will force her to be the only witness to her death?
FROSTPAW CALLS THE HUMAN
...which in BB, is a team of researchers. She drags herself to them, and collapses. This is why they just HAPPENED to have the proper equipment on them; they're WILDLIFE VETS.
Not sure how I'm going to handle Frostpaw's Journey though. In BB, the Park Cats are already a foundational part of Clan Culture.
In all honesty, while I HAVE to praise the fact that the Erins have FINALLY created ONE outsider group that isn't malicious or defenseless... I don't much care for them.
sending frostpaw on a side quest to what's essentially a big DOTC reference. Look! It's that group we introduced in the last 5 chapters of our latest glorified recap! cooool.
We're just going to get nothing but fucking founders in every dream from now on. I'm SURE of it.
As a consolation prize to myself though I will be writing cool angel scenes of the absolute BEING that Riverstar has become in heaven.
Riverstar (normal cat): "Elder Bones I'm going out!"
"not dressed like THAT you're not!!!"
Riverstar (the manifestation of the river, the rain in the sky above, and the abyss below, and how through water we are all truly connected as one being): "better?"
I will probably keep the Park Cats and rework them significantly, but I'm leaning pretty heavily towards Frostpaw visiting a LOT of places. A holy pilgrimage.
ESPECIALLY one of the Tribe's three wards; the River Ward. The Tribe of Rushing Water believes (it's even in the name) that water connects all things.
So I think it would be really fitting for Frostpaw to learn from MANY perspectives, starting with this philosophy put forth by the River Ward.
And she realizes-- that's what Riverstar is, as well. As a being. He is mentoring her on this pilgrimage, while barely saying a word. She can feel him wherever she is, because he isn't JUST the God of the River.
He is connection. He is peace. He's water. Too much and you'd drown, not enough and you'd thirst.
EDIT FROM THE FUTURE: Here is the rough draft of Frostpaw's Journey

i made a post like this a while ago about how baffling the changes paul went through in such little time were to me. i don’t know why im just addicted to writing about him, even though i know nobody’s gonna see it, but i might as well.
in the last post i make about this it was much more heavily focused on the amount of time that it took for him to completely change from a boy on caladan to the messiah figure on arrakis and the emperor. i don’t know what it is about me, but i can get so obsessed with paul atreides and his character arc that he goes through in the first three books, and then ending in children of dune. i think it’s almost trying to trick you when you read the books, because paul is not the hero of the story. most of what we see in the first three books are from his perspective, with the exceptions of chapters from other characters views like jessica, irulan, the harkonnens, etc.
what really gets to me though, is his loss of innocence. he was really only a 15 year old boy on caladan who had told his father he didn’t want to be the duke of house atreides, and with the span of eight months, he’s the emperor. by dune messiah he’s committed a genocide. i don’t support it, but it’s just heartbreaking how he’s this false prophet who’s almost being forced into being this religious figure.
weather or not frank herbert intended it, i think paul atreides is just the most devastating character i’ve read. ( i don’t read enormous amounts of literature) im gonna defend him, even with the heinous war crimes against his name, but it’s okay! he’s never done anything wrong!

I saw a couple tags with king Halt AU and I am interested now 👀 (if you need someone to blab to about this)
okay. listen. i was rereading the early years and halt rescues duncan but refuses to call him highness and duncan gets mad, the canon dialogue is pretty much just,
halt: you-
duncan: YOUR HIGHNESS
halt : i preffer to be called halt, actually
(this is the base idea: this scene is doubly funny if halt were also crown prince)
so picture halt swimming back to shore after ferris tries to kill him and deciding actually he doesn't want this idiot in charge of his country.
halt has had about four years of ranger training on top of royal battleschool at this point and ships ferris of to the countryside, names Caitlyn as his successor to the throne and convinces his father that he should aide araluen (read: the rangers who kept pritchard informed) for diplomacy reasons.
his father thinks this will be a good lesson in war craft for the crown prince and sends him on his way.
halt and Crowley meet in the inn just like in canon while pritchard, who travelled with halt to araluen, makes his way to berrigan who was his main contact and then the plot kicks off (canon slightly to the left) halt is still halt but with the full authority of the clonmel crown behind him. he just doesn't tell people. surely this won't result in any silly situations.
big change might be that daniel, who still dies, asks halt to look for his wife, who is heavily pregnant and halt goes to find her, but presented with a baby who has no living relatives he knows of he just takes baby will and disappears him to Hibernia? Caitlyn loves her nephew. halt insist that will is not his son. will is absolutely his son and no one will be convinced otherwise.
halts father/ the king of clonmel declares Will fourth in line to the throne bc what else are you supposed to do when your heir goes to fight a war for eighteen months and returns with a baby. the king isn't an idiot, halt.
i want at least one scene where an invitation is extended to the Hibernian kings for princess Cassandras first birthday and Caitlyn shows up to represent clonmel and bonds with crowley bc they have a similar sense of humour (compatible with halt). crowley refers to halt only by "Arratay" and Caitlyn only by "my brother". they think the two should meet though crowley thinks halt doesn't know how to behave in the presence of royalty.
this would be even funnier if it was cralt/craltine (geometrically accurate love triangle my beloved) bc crowley is fawning over halt and Caitlyn unknowingly sets them up by encouraging crowley to tell his friend how he feels.
at least one scene would be halt and crowley visiting Crowleys family which is big and loud. halt is immediately a favourite of Crowleys kid sister who thinks he is the funniest person who ever lived. halt is stumped by this
the rangers are also 100% the queerest group of people in the entire country. berrigan and Leander are established and not subtle about it. at least one person is only referred to by ranger, never by any pronouns. this is never remarked upon.
the problem im still trying to figure out is how I can merge canon post TEY. halt returns to clonmel bc he has to check on his family and also bc, yk, the infant he now cares for and virtually disappears from araluen. crowley and pauline are upset bc they dont know what happened. this would be even funnier if this was craltine and they just had a highly emotional moment and then the final battle happens and suddenly halt is gone and no one knows where.
if this was really cracky they would tag along as security/diplomacy detail for duncan when he is invited to halts coronation but then again, we're not catholic so I might as well. could be fun
feel free to add anything you might find funny/devastating etc.
