I've been searching for years for a good photo of Teresa's cavalry pants in full and have had no luck. There have been to date, no behind the scenes photos, no shots in the films, nothing that shows the top of the pants uncovered and the accurate amount of buttons on the side. And the fact that the answer lies in John Mollo's design archive that I could never afford...........cruel cruel world

My dad and I started the Terror a little over a week ago and we've been watching two episodes a night (barring a few days we missed) and Jesus Christ the tension was SO high last night. We're finishing up season 1 tonight......every episode makes me want to binge it but we're forcing ourselves to only watch 2 to let the tension mount and absorb it better and I end up just spending the rest of the night and next day thinking abt what's gonna happen next...

If she needed to acquire common goods, or services, in any town big or small that she had visited, she would be told "There’s plenty at Lisbon,” ; a piece of information highly useful when one was removed hundreds of leagues away from it. Or when she needed directions, to know how far she must go, and finding that a league meant a mile, or twenty, or two, could mean short or long, for none of these people had any idea of what a standard league was, nor of any distance at all. So often they gave poor directions and misguided routes that it was no wonder that the English mapmakers were highly prized. And it was just as much a wonder that Teresa did not lose her patience with them.

sam and i have been talking abt and actively writing plots for sharpe's gold but for years now we've run into the issue of wtf to call each one. we have "film gold" and then "book gold" and then "book gold but for the films" and then "gold but just with one of the main antagonists transplanted into this story for better drama and angst" and tbh we just have to specify in order to know which of them we're talking abt and i just think its really funny. are there betters names? surely. have we thought of any? no.
