Buddy knew their alt mode wasn’t the most common.

They meant to scan an electric scooter, but they accidentally scanned the small dog that walked in front of it.

Sure, it took some getting used but Buddy made it work. Buddy mainly hung out in the GHOST bases since they could exactly go out on patrol in more populated places.

Being the teams medic and having fiery outbursts from time to time is quite a combination to have.

Optimus Prime

Buddy was one of Prime’s longest team members.

They greatly supported him in building new relations with the humans once Megatron surrendered.

As acting medic for now (where is Ratchet) Buddy had their servos occupied with Prime and the rest of the Cybertronains living on Earth.

When Optimus brings Buddy out for patrol, Buddy is in his trailer waiting till it’s okay to come out.

Being a smaller bot, Buddy helps the Prime when things are a bit too small for him to grasp.

If Buddy’s temper gets a bit out of hand, the Prime will simply pick them up and tuck them in his arms.

Through the yelling and all Bumblebee managed to pry Buddy off his face plate to give them a proper hug.

Buddy, while they were still miffed about the whole situation, couldn’t deny their friend a hug.

It truly had been such a long time without communication and they both just missed each other.

“Thrash, Mo this is Buddy. No they are not my pet, they are a good friend of mine.”--Bumblebee

After nearly having a spark attack, Buddy decides to talk to them for a bit after Bumblebee suddenly had to step aside for a second to pick up his comms.

Talking to the two was a breath of fresh air for Buddy. Instead of focusing on logistical things and worrying about supplies, Buddy just got to answer simpler questions with the kids.

Buddy has already made a silent vow to protect these two and the other kids they have yet to meet.

OPINION: Why I think Transformers Earthspark will be remembered as one of the best Transformers shows of all time.

Long story short, Earthspark spoilers. Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

I'm delighted to say that Earthspark has again exceeded my expectations. Honestly, when the show was first announced, I expected it to be a TV show meant to pander to young children. It would either be silly or forgettable.

Nope.

The show has blown all expectations out of the water through its bold story-telling and animation. The characters all feel realistic- they have strengths and flaws, which are most apparent when they face difficult situations. Another strength is that this show is not afraid to tackle issues (war, moral issues- "how far are we willing to go for the sake of peace?", discrimination, etc) that have become a part of our society in the present and past several years.

In the new 8 episodes dropped, the central theme appears to be identity. Mainly about finding your identity (ex: finding an alt-mode), making up parts of your identity (ex: finding the right alt-mode that matches each character), and integrating new experiences into your identity (ex: Megatron's decision to gain an Earth-based alt-mode to earn the Autobots' trust)- those sort of topics. These are all important and wonderful topics to discuss and share in a show. However, what surprised me the most was that the writers were not afraid to show the ugly sides of identity-related topics.

The 17th and 18th episodes- "Home Part I" and "Home Part II"- subtly tackle racism and xenophobia. Robbie, Twitch, and Hashtag are visiting Robbie's friend in a skateboard park. While having fun, they stumble upon an anti-transformers graffiti- "Transformers go home". Twitch and Hashtags are shocked and upset over this. Twitch says "This just isn't okay" because they were born on Earth and have lived there for their entire existence. However, Robbie's friend insists that their existence on Earth isn't "okay" since "Invading the Earth wasn't okay either". He's essentially telling them that they exist because of the war, which was unwanted, so therefore, their existence "isn't okay".

That scene honestly emotionally destroyed me. Before I explain why let me say a few things.

I am Korean American. The experiences/feelings I will later talk about are my own and do not fully represent the Korean American and/or East Asian communities. Our community's experiences are varied; thus, one person’s is not enough to sum them all of them.

Throughout my life, especially in the past couple of years- during the COVID-19 pandemic, I have had all of these things happen to me:

- I have been called hateful slurs.

- People have made the slanted eyes gesture to me numerous times.

- A few people have greeted me with "ni hao". (This is offensive because they automatically assume I'm from China because I'm Asian. It supports the idea that AAPI communities are one monolith. Hint: They're not.)

- Many people have asked me if I eat dog meat… (I don't. Never have.)

- Too many times, I have been told to "go back home". (I don't even remember the exact number. That's an indicator of how many times it's happened)

- In college, I have had many academic and career advisors ask if I'm a foreign student. It doesn't appear be an offensive question, but if I were Caucasian, no one would have thought to ask me if I was a foreigner. But no, I am Asian, so there is a huge chance that I might not be American.

The fact that I am Asian, or Korean American, an ethnicity (Korean) not found in the Americas, is enough of an excuse to question my identity and my entire life - who I am, where I'm from, and my own habits. To many, it is an excellent excuse to ensure I feel like an outsider in my own home.

The "Transformers go home" scene destroyed me because it reminds me of the pain that comes from the fact that there will always be people who believe I do not belong in my own country- no matter how many experiences I have had and how ingrained they are in me.

These characters are experiencing that same pain, too, even when they shouldn't be. The insistence from Robbie's friend that their experiences aren't enough to explain their belonging to Earth because they are physically Cybertronian- or transformers- is especially heartbreaking.

However, Robbie stands up for his family and breaks ties with his friend. He refuses to accept the blatant discrimination his siblings are facing and leaves instead. This is significant because while the writers show the ugly side of human society, they also show how to combat it- by refusing to stand by and accept it.

This scene is likely why Earthspark will become and will be remembered as one of the best Transformers shows ever.

It's not just the animation or the stories/plots. It is the show's willingness to tackle issues that are difficult to discuss in real life.

In a world where Anti- Asian, Anti- Latino, Anti- LGBTQIA sentiments and (basically) any hate toward minority groups are on the rise, Earthspark is not afraid to go head-on with these issues. They are willing to show scenes to demonstrate the harm these ideas and beliefs can cause, as well as solutions on how to fight them.

The show embraces the beautiful sides of humanity- friendship, family, love, and hope- but is also not afraid to fight the ugly parts of it too.

So, there’s a videogames website I used to surf some time ago. It was the early twitter era and the HP games were hot topic on the forums discussions. JKR was then relatively tamed, and their twitter feed was a constant barrage of feminism against old conservative guys… and she was so hated among the users. They called them feminazi, woke, etc. The HP games would receive poor reviews from staff and users alongside and memes ridiculing the franchise were shared in the threads.

I stopped visiting the site gradually, It’s been years since then. Curiosity dragged me back recently and things were so changed. Now the HP games have positive reviews, there’re entire threads mocking the attempts and calls to boicot. Anyone calling bullshit on the franchise is called woke, resented, child molester, etc. JKR is now an unfairly treated author. The general consensus goes about how authors have the right to do what they want with their money and the necessity to separate work and personal opinions.

Thinking about it, it’s not that big surprise. Some Xbox forums saw the raising of alt right on internet after all. But it would be funny if it wasn’t so alarming; how quickly the HP fanbase is shifting to bigotry, conspiracy and far right. While not so long ago those same (proto) groups were online crusading against what now defend and praise.

I can’t say I’m surprised. Folks who are already alt right will back whoever they think is on their side; ei republicans who what to fight “sexual immorality” backing trump the adulterer and (alleged) child molester because he tells them what they want to hear. But I saw political circles, not just fandoms, shift into the alt right over the years, actively supporting causes and ideals that once condemned. But the way they condemned them wasn’t always a matter of the harm they caused, but the intellectual inferiority of bigotry. So once the tides turned, so too did the targets of derision. This isn’t to undermine the specific marginalized groups that are targeted by bigotry, but a factor that allows it to spread is the more general sense of community superiority, which lines of perfectly with fandom toxicity. “We are better than those losers out the outside because we are the enlightened members of the in-group.”

For example, I used to follow the “New Atheist” movement on youtube, because it gave me some comfort and catharsis to see the kind of Christian extremists who were abusing me at the time dunked on. But it was just dunking. The real harm conservative American christians did to women, people of color, and queer people was used as proof that religion was a delusion held by intellectually inferior people. But then those marginalized groups started speaking for themselves and making demands, so the youtube atheists switched gears, and started dunking on the “social justice warriors” as the new delusional idiots that they were so much better than. Because the issue of American christianity was never actually the harm that was being committed, it was about how they were dumb and cringe for believing in something fake. The people who actually believed in stopping harm realized what was going on and left, so all that remained were the increasingly odious voices about how feminism and the gays were way worse than conservative christians and maybe they’re right about everything except the god part. (Though some of those bozos have “taken the god pill” in the fifteen years since because their belief system is based in perceived superiority and nothing else.)

As for Harry Potter specifically, I’ve never been in the fandom but based on the many interactions I’ve had with fans over the years, I’m not surprised by that shift. It always had an energy shared by all the worst of nerd fandoms: both the sense of superiority that their book/movie/game is one of the best things ever and it’d popular because everyone agrees that it’s great, but also it’s a special nerdy thing that the evil “normies” will belittle and bully them for enjoying because they’re too stupid to appreciate anything more complicated that reality tv. It maps pretty easily onto the facist idea that the in-group is simultaneously the superior order that effortlessly outclasses all others in everything and the poor perpetual victims of the all powerful other constantly out to get them. I’m not saying being in a toxic fandom automatically turns people into fascists, I’m saying that fascists are opportunists and pray on people who feel they have been victimized, and convince them the ones doing the victimizing are their current targets.

JKR herself was a victim of domestic violence, which is a prime recruitment ground used by terfs. That, and she was probably feeling the existential dread of her greatest success being behind her after the mainline HP franchise ended, her newer books weren’t doing well, and she wanted to feel like she was “positively” impacting the world. But that was years ago and she’s speaking her own words at this point. She’ll die remembered as a bigot who squandered the good memories propping up her overhyped franchise and not even her fellow terfs will miss her because they’re so paranoid about trans people, they’ll probably start “transvestigating” her posthumously out of instinct.

(In fact a lot of them like Israel and ranted that our last three presidents screwed it over) I’ve never even encountered a modern-day nazi in southern USA where they supposedly thrive. Obviously, the outright showcase of antisemitism is more of a far-right / alt-right kind of behavior. The Unite The Right Rally from 2017 is a great and not a particularly subtle example in this regard with all the "Jews will not replace us" chants... Even in the January 6th insurrection, a rebellion meant to reinstall Trump who is supposedly a great ally to Israel, there were people in the crowd literally wearing shirts that say "Camp Auschwitz" on them alongside the usual Nazi memorabilia and iconography.

It's also important to remember that the majority of conspiracy theories, that are much more prevalent within right wing circles, are also mostly at their core antisemitic. Everything dealing with "cabals", "elites" and "lizard people" are usually just euphemisms for Jews. Also, everything about George Soros and dozens other dog-whistles. And sometimes they just blame the Rothschilds for causing wild fires in the US with a space laser...

[By the way, there's an Israeli anthropologist of religion named Adam Klin Oron, who investigated the conspiracy community in Israel, both Jewish and non-Jewish. it is not very big but it does exist. I mean, the paradox of Jewish people believing in antisemitic conspiracy theories is absolutely fascinating, especially the methods they have to adopt to settle this cognitive dissonance. I think he has some papers and maybe lectures in English out there, if your curious about the subject]

But it is important to note that the usage of "elites" in particular as well as of other dog-whistles and antisemitic tropes (like the dual-loyalty) are common even among less extreme sections of the right. In 2018 Kevin McCarthy twitted: "We cannot allow Soros, Steyer, and Bloomberg to BUY this election!”. It's comments like this, refusal to condemn antisemitism from within the party and only when it comes from the left (the same tactic of the left themselves), and other constantly present actions that make it clear that Jews are not in much a priority for the Republican party and more not exactly welcomed.

Now, there's also the whole thing about Evangelicals. They might just be some of the biggest allies of Israel, but they also want all Jews to move there in order to set Armageddon in motion. Seriously. This is an actual thing they believe in and is the only real reason any of them ever does anything for and about Israel and Jews.

Similarly, many other right supporters of Israel have an alternative reason for their support, both in the US and outside of it, especially in Europe which have been at the forefront of massive immigrant and refugee waves from Arab nations in the past decade. This support isn't actually for Israel or Jews - it's just plain hatred for Arabs and Muslims. They sort of view Israel as a double-gift: 1) it concentrates all Jews together, away from them, and 2) Israel is always fighting Arabs, and they hate Arabs, so that's good (a philosophy Netanyahu supports whole hardheartedly, preferring to swallow the antisemitic frog for the support and legitimization of his actions). So while technically many right wing will actively support Israel, the reason is often ironically antisemitic and Islamophobic.

To be clear - this is not about individuals. It never is. It can't be. It's impossible for hundreds of thousands and millions of people to think and act exactly the same. Of course there are many people, both on the left and the right, who are not antisemitic and many people who truly wish to protect Jewish people and Israel's right to exist. But this isn't about individuals, it's about prevalent beliefs and behaviors in movements. And these are unfortunately quite common, in both political parties.

“I know.” Lucy nodded, letting out a sigh as she lifted the beer to her lips and took a swing before looking up at the ceiling. “But they’re all so far away. I’d rather just stay in Magnolia and go to the community college.”

“This have anything to do with Natsu and the fact that you’ve been in love with the idiot since you were twelve?” He arched a brow at her.

Lucy felt the smile spread across her face at the mention of her boyfriend of three years, her fingers tightening on the bottle in her hand as her heart stumbled in her chest. “I just,” She bit her lip, looking at the floor as the blush spread across her cheeks.

Laxus chuckled and moved forward, pressing his lips to her forehead. “I support whatever decision you make, Lucky. I’ll even make sure Jude shuts up about it.”

Natsu hovered outside of the doorway to the kitchen, his hand gripping the frame as he listened to their conversation about Lucy going to college. He had been in love with her since he was thirteen but didn’t have the courage to ask her out until three years ago, when he was fifteen. He loved everything about this girl; how smart she was, how kind she was, how she was just beautiful inside and out. He knew about the colleges she had been accepted into, knew that her father was pressuring her to finally pick one, knew that she was serious about staying here to go to community college to stay close to him.

He knew she deserved so much more than that, knew she wanted so much more than that but wanted to be close to him more. He refused to hold her back, so he took a deep breath as he stepped into the kitchen, his mind made up on how he was going to make her do what was best for herself.

“Laxus, can we have a minute?” He spoke quietly, refusing to meet Lucy’s questioning gaze.

“Sure.” Laxus frowned before kissing Lucy’s forehead again. “One more beer after that, Lucky, then you’re done.”

Lucy rolled her eyes as Laxus left the kitchen before smiling brightly at Natsu. “Where’ve you been hiding?”

“Just been thinking.” He leaned back against the counter across from her, his arms crossed as he refused to look at her face. “You pick a college yet?”

She frowned at his question, a sick feeling building in the pit of her stomach. “I told you, Natsu. I’m going to the Community College.”

“Why?” He scowled, still refusing to look at her because he knew if he did, he wouldn’t be able to do what needed to be done. “For me?”

“Well, duh,” She rolled her eyes fondly even though the sick feeling inside of her was growing. “I want to stay-“

“You’re a fucking idiot.” He scoffed, shaking his head and trying to ignore her sharp gasp. “Picking to go to a Community College for a guy? That’s fucking stupid, Lucy.”

Her knuckles turned white from how tightly she was holding the bottle in her hand, tears gathering in her eyes at his words. “It’s not stupid.” She whispered. “I’m doing it because I lo-“

“You’re doing it to control me!” He snapped, his heart breaking with his words, but he pushed himself to continue. “For fuck’s sake, Lucy! Did you really think this thing between us would actually last?” He forced himself to look at her, forced himself to glare and ignore the tears spilling down her cheeks.

“I’m saying I’m way too fucking young to be tied down!” His eyes flicked over her shoulder, silently cursing himself for being too loud as he saw several of their friends hovering in the doorway. “I’m going to become a firefighter and I don’t need you around causing trouble when I want to get some action from the women who will want me! I don’t fucking want you around, Lucy! I don’t want to fucking be with you!”

The only sound after his outburst was the bottle shattering in her hands from how tight she had squeezed it and the soft sobs escaping her. “N-Natsu, h-how could-“

He forced himself to roll his eyes as he pushed away from the counter and headed for the door. “Get over it, Lucy. We’re done.” He shoved through their angry friends, ignoring Gray, Loke and Erza as they chased after him because he needed to get away before he ruined everything by telling her the truth.

He sped away on his motorcycle, amazed that he didn’t get into a wreck with how fast he had been going as he drove to his brother’s house, the only place he could stay where no one would find him.

“What did you do?” Zeref’s voice was filled with barely restrained rage as Natsu got off the motorcycle. “Laxus just called and said you broke up with Lucy by telling her you wanted the ‘attention’ you were going to get as a firefighter?”

Natsu pulled his helmet off and set it on his bike before looking at Zeref, watching the anger fade from his brother’s face at the sight of tears on his own. “I had to.” He whispered.

“Why?” Mavis, his sister-in-law, spoke up from slightly behind Zeref, her concerned eyes on Natsu.

“Because she deserves better!” He shouted, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. “You know how fucking smart she is! She doesn’t deserve to be going to Community College! She deserves to go to a university! She deserves to have that experience and get the degree she wants! I was holding her back! She deserves better!”

Zeref studied him for a long moment before sighing heavily. “I don’t know whether to be angry or proud.”

“Proud?” Mavis looked at her husband in shock. “Why the hell would you be proud that he broke her heart like that?”

“Because he did it for her, Mavis.” Zeref shook his head. “The fucking idiot just ruined the best thing in his life just so she could have the life she deserves to have.”

Mavis frowned and crossed her arms. “She deserves to be happy, and Lucy is the only one who decides what makes her happy.” She looked at Natsu. “You should’ve talked with her instead of doing this.”

“She wouldn’t have listened.” He rubbed his hands down his face. “You know how stubborn she is. I know her, Mavis. She wants to go, but she wanted to stay here with me. She would’ve stayed.” He gave a weak shrug. “So, I forced her to go. She means more to me than anything. Even myself. I’ll gladly be miserable the rest of my life without her as long as she get to do the things she dreams of doing.”

Mavis shook her head and turned to go inside. “Her biggest dream was being with you, Natsu, and you just shattered that.”

Memories raged through his mind. Memories that didn’t belong to him. The power of Aquarius’ Stream of Memories was so potent that Natsu could smell the dust and blood in the air like he was back in the ruins of Tartaros. Except he hadn’t been there, not really. The Allegria spell had swallowed him, and Lucy had saved them all. He didn’t know how, or how he knew that, but he’d known it from the moment he regained consciousness.

In the aftermath of losing his father, the feeling slipped his mind, buried under his grief and self-loathing. A feeling which was now made worse by Lucy’s memories coursing through him. The sound of her scream, summoning the Celestial Spirit King…he’d never heard it, but he could feel it in his bones now, shaking loose guilt he thought he had let go of.

The sound of careful steps outside his room drew him out of his brooding, and he heard the hushed murmurs of Wendy and Lucy, then the door slid open, and Lucy knelt at his side. He turned his head to look at her slowly, searching her face silently. She smiled softly at him.

“Wendy says you’ll be okay. It was bad, and with Erza being just as wounded, she didn’t have the power to heal you all the way,” she said, reaching out and brushing his hair out of his eyes carefully. “You heal faster so….”

“Lucy,” he rasped out, catching her wrist. She gasped softly at the strength of his grip, and he relaxed a little with a frown. “Sorry…Lucy, I need to ask you—”

“You need to rest,” she insisted. “Suzaku’s attack—”

“I saw them, Lucy. I saw the memories Aquarius showed you…” he said quietly. Lucy fell silent, staring at him with wide eyes. “I wondered why you didn’t summon her when Ignia set the city on fire…there was plenty of water, but you didn’t…”

Lucy clenched her fist and pulled it away, placing it on her thighs. “You need to rest, Natsu,” she whispered. Her shoulders trembled slightly, making him sit up slowly, letting out a growl of pain when the wound on his abdomen pulled slightly.

“I can’t Lucy. I close my eyes and I see….you. I hear you screaming…crying. I wasn’t there but I can’t stop seeing it now! You never told me what you did,” he paused when she looked up at him sharply. “I-I never asked…” he corrected himself.

Lucy shook her head sharply, angrily wiping her eyes. “Are you kidding me? Are you actually bringing this up now? It doesn’t matter Natsu, it’s over. That was more than a year ago!”

The knot of guilt tightened in his stomach at her words. “A year that….you were alone. I didn’t….I would never have…Lucy, why didn’t you say something?”

“I didn’t exactly have the time…the fights were still going, and then Igneel, and Acnologia. There wasn’t time, and you were in enough pain. You didn’t need mine too,” she said, looking away again.

“Yeah, I lost my dad, but you lost your first friend! The closest thing you have to family, and you sacrificed her?! We could have comforted each other; we didn’t have to suffer alone!” he growled, pressing a hand against the pain in his stomach.

“You want me to believe you would have stayed? That you wouldn’t have gone off for your training if I had told you? Or maybe you would have taken me with you? Not left me behind?” she demanded, glaring at him. Natsu winced back at the heat in her voice and ground his teeth together in frustration.

Lucy sat back on her heels after a moment with a soft huff. “That’s what I thought. You had to go, and my pain wouldn’t have meant a thing. So you saw the moment I did what I had to do, so what?” She cut off for a moment and looked at the door when Gray shouted for her. “ It didn’t matter then, and it doesn’t matter now,” she argued, pushing to her feet.

“Lucy!” Natsu growled, reaching for her, but drawing back with a low groan of pain. “You know that’s not—”

“Lucy! They followed us here!” Gray shouted as he ran past the room.

“What I know, is that I have a fight to win, and you need to rest, Natsu. I’ll send Wendy to check on you later.”

“Lucy, we have to—”

“We don’t have to do anything but get through this Natsu,” she said softly, without looking back. She left him there, staring after her and listening to the sounds of her fight. The screams from her memories blended with those she was letting out as she fought, sending Natsu’s mind into a dizzying madness of rage and guilt.

“I’ll fix this,” he swore to himself, laying back reluctantly. “If it’s the last thing I do, I will make sure she gets that key.”

It should have been a time for victory… and for some it was.

Zoro watched as crowds of people swarmed the town square. Bright colors from festive clothing and lights blended together. Laughter and chatter became nothing more than a murmur to his ears. The smell coming from the large cooking pot that was in the center of the square made his stomach churn.

He brought his bottle of sake to his lips and gulped; downing half of it in one go.

“You should go talk to him.” Robin’s voice soft voice carried to him. Zoro didn’t even spare a glance back at her. “You’re the only one he-“

“I can’t help him.” Zoro stated bluntly. “Nothing I say is going to fix the problem.”

“So you aren’t going to offer him comfort?” Her tone turned sharped. Anger bubbled within his chest as his drunken mind detected something accusatory in her voice.

He took another drink until the bottle was empty. He chucked the bottle to the side. The strong glass didn’t break but bounced on the wooden flooring until it settled into a roll. He had his next bottle opened before he heard it clink against the wall.

“Zoro.”

He turned sharply on his heel.

Robin’s face was puffy around her eyes. The redness in them was a stark contrast to ice blue eyes. Her cheeks were flushed and her nose was slightly runny.

He couldn’t remember the last time he’d seen Robin cry. He didn’t really care to at the moment anyways. He just wanted her gone; out of this room and far away from him.

“If you’re so worried, you go comfort him! Leave me the fuck alone!” He growled.

She glared back at him, before her eyes fell to his torso. It was only a matter of seconds before her face twisted in devastation.

Zoro followed her gaze and instantly regretted it.

He was covered in blood.

Her blood.

Just another fucking reminder that he failed.

He had every intention to rip his clothing off once he got to the room. To get rid of any remaining evidence that this night even happened… and yet he didn’t. He couldn’t. The thought of trying left him in a daze before he was consumed with the desire to drink.

“He has the sunflower she wore in her hair.” Robin stated softly. Her voice trembled, not able to bear the weight of her grief. “Her blood is staining the petals and yet he just keeps …” she was interrupted by her own sob.

Zoro could only stare.

“When Sanji tried to take it away… Luffy… he…”

Zoro didn’t need to hear the rest. He knew what his captain was capable of when pressed to his limits. He knew that Luffy did not handle loss well and had more than likely kicked the cook’s ass for even daring to take her flower away.

“She’s gone.”

Zoro felt his pain ripple down his spine. His hands clenched; one around the neck of the sake bottle, the other in a simple fist which led to his nails piercing his palm.

“And because you two can’t let her go, you’d rather comfort yourselves with her blood.”

Her eyes immediately sought out the voice that she knew better than her own, and she was confused to find Natsu curved over her with tears streaking a path down his cheeks.

She frowned, concern for him welling inside of her chest. She didn’t like it when Natsu cried. He didn’t ever really do it, not often, so when he did cry Lucy knew that something must’ve seriously rattled him.

“Natsu?”

Natsu’s eyes were locked on hers, wide and panicked.

“Stay still, Luce,” He pleaded. “W - we need to wait for Wendy. You’re bleeding.”

It took a minute for his words to register, but when they did she found that they didn’t make much sense. Because, she wasn’t bleeding but her nails were.

“Natsu, my nails.” She held a shaky hand up in front of her face again, not bothering to mention that her body was starting to feel cold. Natsu was with her, and he always warmed her up anyway. “Look.”

“Are you kidding me?” He growled, using his forehead to nudge her palm back down. “You’re bringing this up now? You’re fucking bleeding from a hole in your stomach, Lucy. I don’t care for your nails right now.”

She found that she didn’t really have the energy to reply, and instead she just watched him.

He was crying, but he still looked as beautiful as ever. Natsu had always been beautiful to her, in all the loud ways a person could be beautiful, but in the little ways too. He was kind and sweet to her, considerate of her feelings.

She blinked up at him tiredly, finding that she just genuinely wanted nothing more than to fall asleep right there on the dirty ground. Nails and Natsu be damned.

“No. No, Lucy! Luce! Don’t close your eyes, baby, please.”

She tried to tell Natsu that she couldn’t help it, but everything faded into the background as soon as Natsu let out a gut-wrenching sob and a searing, blistering heat slammed directly into her abdomen.

  “I don’t know whether to be angry or proud…”

  Xiao stood quietly as he stared at Lumine’s back. The sun was setting beyond the rocky outcrops that surrounded the Chasm and the wind blew gently, rustling her hair and making the ornaments at the end of her scarf tingle like two little bells. The Yaksha’s face was one of rare nervousness as they stood there at the cliff’s edge.

They had just escaped from that strange dimension they were trapped in. He remembered the frightened look on Lumine’s face as she reached out to stop him from sending her and the others back up to the surface. He knew that she didn’t want him to do it… but he couldn’t tell her his plan. He knew she’d try and stop him, regardless if he told her or not.

  It was the only way. He just hoped that she had understood.

  As he fell back toward the darkness, all he could think of was that face. The face of the girl that he became so attached to. He was usually so closed-off to others, but with her… he felt different. He felt safe.

  To know that she would live was enough for him… or so he thought.

  The next thing he knew, he was back up on the surface with the otherworldly traveler and the others. As he looked up toward the clifftops, he could see the retreating figure of the Archon that he served. Deep in his heart, he was thankful to Lord of Geo… but now, he knew that he had something to answer for.

  He knew the moment he saw Lumine’s frowning face and then told Paimon and the others to give her and Xiao a moment alone. They walked here, toward this cliff, both of them standing in tense silence before the traveler finally spoke to him in the present moment.

“…I know you must be upset,” Xiao replied.

  “I’m not just upset, Xiao!” Lumine spat as she turned to face him. “Why would you ever do such an insane thing?!”

  “It was all I could think of doing at that moment!” Xiao argued, his voice momentarily rising. “I-I had no choice!”

  “We could have figured something else out together!” Lumine countered.

  “There was no time!” Xiao snapped back. “I had to do something! We were about to fall back down and… and…” He sighed as his shoulders sagged and he glanced off to his left. “I… I couldn’t bear it if something happened to you.”

  Lumine’s eyes softened and her shoulders dropped. “Xiao… no sacrifice is ever worth it. Did you even think about how much it would hurt everyone if you lost your life, no matter how immortal you are? Don’t you have any idea how much you mean to the people who care about you?” She paused as she cast her eyes to the ground. “Or… how much you mean to me?”

  Xiao’s eyes widened slightly as he looked up at her, his golden amber eyes meeting her honey gaze. The wind blew again, carrying the golden yellow ginkgo leaves and rustling the orange and brown grass. That’s when Lumine approached him.

  “Xiao…” she said. “I want you to make a contract with me.”

  “A… contract?” Xiao asked.

  “Yes,” Lumine nodded. “I want you to swear that you will never take your life so lightly again… do you understand me?”

  Xiao stood there, unsure of what to say… but then his expression hardened with that steely gaze of seriousness before, with some hesitation, he reached out and gently took the traveler’s hand in his own, then slowly fell to one knee as he bowed his head and closed his eyes.

  “I, Adeptus Xiao, Conqueror of Demons… hereby swear that I will never treat my life lightly again.”

Lumine nodded her head. “Good.”

  “Hey, Traveler!”

  Upon hearing that squeaky voice of her companion, Lumine turned to see Paimon waving to her, as well Yanfei, Yelan, Itto, Shinobu, and Razor.

  “Yo, compadre!” Itto called. “We’re off to get some grub! Wanna join us?”

  “Come on! Let’s eat, already!” Paimon added.

  Lumine smiled, a sudden sense of relief washing over her before she turned to face Xiao, who was back on his feet once again.

  “How about the others go eat in town,” Lumine began, “and I’ll meet up with you at Wangshu Inn for some Almond Tofu. What do you say?”

  “…Sounds good,” Xiao nodded.

  Lumine smiled warmly at the Yaksha, who felt his cheeks grow warm as they were dusted a light pink, and he could feel his heart skip a beat or two. As they went to join the others, Xiao didn’t even realize that he had reached over… and had taken the traveler’s hand in a firm yet tender grip. Lumine didn’t look at him… but instead, she just silently locked her fingers with his.

  ‘Thank you, Lumine…’

“Zera, stop running, you're going to trip and fall!” Yelled Mavis at the short brown haired girl.

“It's fine.” She yelled back before she fell on the ground.

“I told you so.” Mavis said after she caught up to the girl.

“It's fine really, I'm not hurt.”replied Zera.

“Let's just go back to the tree.” She added.

“Fine,”Mavis replied.

After they reached the tree they were surprised to see that most of the animals had been killed.

They were looking around when they saw a man with short black hair and decided to question him.

“Do you know what happened here?”asked Mavis to the boy.

“I do.” He replied,not happy that he was being questioned but obviously taking interest in the long haired blonde.

“Then what happened?” Zera asked.

“I killed them.Just like I'll kill you two.” He answered.

“W-why would you do that?”questioned Mavis.

“Because I was cursed this way, for every thing that I care about to die.” He replied nonchalantly.

“I won't allow you to kill Mavis, kill me instead if you have to.”Zera said sternly.

“My,My.What fascinating friendship you have.To go as far as to risk your lives for each other.”He said.

“NO!” Yelled Mavis. “Don't kill her, kill me.”she said.

“What are you talking about!?” Zera screamed.

“Well, I suppose I'll kill the white-haired girl,”He said.

As he prepared to kill Mavis, Zera jumped in front of the attack and took the hit for her.She fell to the ground with a thump,blood spilling out of her chest where a hole laid in her body.

“No,No,No,No.”Mavis said. “You can't die, you promised to stay with me.You promised dammit!”she cried out,falling to her knees to cradle the body of her friend.

“You can survive.I promise you will find more friends and family.Just promise me that you will leave this island and travel with the people that you meet.”said Zera

“I-I can't leave you!” Mavis replied. “You're my friend, my family and my sister.”

“Just this once, promise me.” Zera said,choosing to ignore her refusal.

“No!”she cried, still hugging the broken body of her friend.

“Please.” Zera begged.

“Fine!” Mavis said.

“Thank you.” Zera said before taking Her last breath.

Present

“No!!” Mavis cried, feeling her friend's heartbeat stutter till it stopped completely.

She cried and cried and cried, never once letting go of the body or looking at the boy in front of her.

Finally after hours of crying she got up to go bury the body of her friend. She made sure to put flowers on the burial.

That night she cried and cried. She cried the next day and the day after that until two weeks passed since the death of Zera. She was an emotional wreck but decided to push past it.

“That was … something.”

His ears perked at the sound. Her voice wrapping around him like a velvet curtain. The soft growl that was natural in her voice never failed to send a shiver down his spine.

And as much as he always loved being near her… right now was a bad time.

“If you came out here to scold me-“

“No.” She cut him off.

He couldn’t help but look back at her. Her hood was down giving him a clear view of her face. Although always stoic- since her powers were sensitive to emotion, he had become a master at reading her by her eyes. Deep and dark in contrast of her pale skin and yet he found that nothing shined brighter.

“Good.” He sighed. He didn’t elaborate. He didn’t need to. Unlike her, all he ever did was feel. Too much and all the time. His heart constantly on his sleeve as if it was etched there.

“You’re not that easy to read.” She spoke, sitting next to him.

“You read minds now?” His lips lifted just slightly. He could feel one of his fangs scrap against his bottom lip.

“No. I mean to anyone but me. Even then, it took me a while. You’re actually confusing to empathic powers considering you’re always so optimistic. When we first met, I thought you were a brainless twit.”

He raised an eyebrow. He watched as a bit of humor glimmered in her eyes.

“Now I know you’re a brainless twit with a dark side.”

“Ha ha ha. Saw that coming a mile away.” He grumbled. His ears drooped. And he was all of sudden stricken with guilt.

He had exploded moments ago with Lin the tower. He had said some pretty unfair things to everyone before storming outside to where he sat… and even though he didn’t think anything he said was wrong, it was definitely hurtful.

“I’m so-“

“Don’t.” She raised a hand. “Nothing you said was a lie.”

“But-“

“Garfield.”

He felt his mouth shut upon hearing his name from her lips. A pretty normal reaction since it never failed to shock him with how fucking great it sounded to him.

“Everyone has limits. Robin pushed you to yours.  You reacted just as anyone else would have. Were your words hurtful? Yes… but true. Sometimes the truth just hurts.”

“I never want to hurt you.”

“That is an impossible task.” She countered gently. “Pain is … inevitable. Especially when the heart is involved.”

“Oh yeah!” He perked up instantly. He leaned back into both hands and smirked in her direction. He grinned, his canines poking out from his top lip. “You love me. That’s what you said last night”

“You’re bringing that up now?” She rolled her eyes. “Aren’t I supposed to be comforting you in your time of need.”

“This is comforting me. The girl I’ve been crazy about for years finally confessed to me last night and I haven’t been able to bask in its glory.” He suddenly felt agitated again.

He flinched when the light above them popped; glass shattering and falling to the concrete. He then eyed the empath to his side and smirked.

“The way you can shift emotions like that is actually impressive.” She let out a breathy chuckle. Her eyes lifted to the now busted light. Then she sighed falling back to her resting features. “I hope they don’t ask.”

“Just say I did it. Robin thinks I mess everything up anyways.”

“Hey.” She rested a hand on his shoulder. He leaned into her touch, a purr rolling out from his chest. “Don’t let him get to you. Just cool down and as for a sit down where it’s just the two of you. Then apologize to Cyborg and Star.”

“So I should apologize?” He asked her.

“To them. Star is very sensitive to how people feel about her. She probably thinks you hate her right now. And Cyborg is the closest thing you to a brother so he’s probably crying on the inside despite trying to act tough.”

“Can’t you … tell?” He asked.

“All my focus is on you at the moment.”

He beamed at the confession.

“I’ll do that, but first… wanna fly with me?”

Her reply was the dark shadow disc that was conjured with a flick of her wrist.

maybe my perspective being outside from the USA and only knowing USA politics out of absolute necesity, i didn't even see the post as a vote blue or whatever but within context it's most likely what i means LMFAO still letting a system burn and crash without the proper preparation still leaves their most vulnerable citizens and non-citizens at danger, until real community work is done. currently seeing so many republicans and alt right groups grow in my own country trying to take over to voters' indifference, with no good current communities systems because they have all been destroyed by neoliberalism, is hurtful — hence, my own reminder to vote Still well crazy how it looks like every place is a little too fucked up in different ways

oh i totally get what you mean! a lot of people in the reblogs somehow saw that cautionary post and reblogged with "yas and this is why i'll be voting blue!" and i just... the house is haunted so learning to cope with that is good, but we could also try to cleanse it or tear it down to the foundation and rebuild. but in order to do that there needs to be temporary supportive structures in place right, to help everyone out? like how before a union strikes they prepare a fund to help the members. but of course fascism quietly creeps into societies and slooowly takes apart those supportive structures, that way the rest of us feel like we have no choice but to be compliant or risk what little we have to maybe force change to happen. there's a reason revolutions take a long time to happen, and it fuckin sucks. i really wish the solution was easy but it isn't, and i wish i could feel confident in the systems we live in but i don't. truly i have no idea how/if i'm voting this fall because the us empire is so expansive the results will heavily impact the rest of the world as always and it's just... i don't know dude. let's take a nap

On Monday morning, the organizers of the Take Our Border Back convoy kicked off their road trip to the Texas–Mexico border in Virginia Beach. Though they claimed that up to 40,000 trucks would be joining, only 20 vehicles made up the convoy as it rolled into Jacksonville, Florida, 14 hours later. The promised support had not materialized—not a single truck showed up, tires were reportedly slashed, participants got lost, and paranoia struck the group. In short, the convoy was a complete mess.

The convoy was organized last week as a show of support for Texas governor Greg Abbott and his decision to defy the federal government and President Joe Biden about the installation of razor wire along the Texas–Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas. While at least one organizer initially said they planned to hunt down migrants along the border in collaboration with sympathetic members of law enforcement, the group appeared to walk back that assertion on Monday, issuing a statement that the convoy would not be heading to the border at all but instead going to Quemado, a tiny town in Catron County, Texas. The group’s website, however, still lists the route of the convoy as “Virginia Beach, VA, to Eagle Pass,” and members of the planning group on Telegram still say they are going to the Texas border.

The organizers also repeatedly stated that the event was peaceful, though online chats in a related Telegram group show members discussing “exterminating” migrants. A known white nationalist who was kicked out of the People’s Convoy in 2022, Ryan Sanchez, is among those most active in the group. Sanchez was previously a Marine Corp reservist who says he was kicked out after he was reported to have been demonstrating alongside the Rise Above Movement, an alt-right street-fighting group that took part in the neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, which led to the death of one counterprotester.

“I think the Eagle Pass rally is going to be the ’main event,’” Sanchez wrote in the convoy Telegram channel. “We need to think strategically and concentrate our limited resources where they will have the greatest effect.”

But on the first day of the convoy, some attendees woke up to find their tires slashed, according to one of the main livestreamers who posted pictures on X of the cars outside a motel. The meeting point also had to be hastily rearranged on Monday morning when the owners of the original location told the organizers they couldn’t gather there.

When the convoy did finally come together in a hotel parking lot in Norfolk, Virginia, there were a few dozen people and around 20 vehicles, based on video footage reviewed by WIRED and comments made by the livestreamers responding to questions from supporters.

The day began with a speech from Craig Hudgins, one of the organizers, who stressed that the event was a "peaceful, peaceable demonstration.” Hudgins also claimed—without evidence—that he had heard that up to “40,000 truckers from all over the country and Canada” would be joining the convoy—although not a single one of those trucks managed to join the group during the first day. The convoy members also heard from Ivan Raiklin, who was involved in the efforts to block Joe Biden’s election win and is an ally of disgraced national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Finally, after a prayer from a pastor linked to the Church Militant, a far-right religious website, the convoy rolled out an hour later than scheduled and headed down I-95. It was spearheaded by a bus covered in MAGA slogans.

Almost immediately, one of the vehicles in the convoy got lost, according to messages posted in the Zello walkie-talkie app that the group is using to communicate while on the road. Later, when the convoy linked up to discuss evening plans, the meeting quickly descended into an argument about where they were going to be staying. Even trying to meet up at a gas station was difficult: Due to the size of a Buc-ee’s in South Carolina, convoy members couldn’t locate each other.

A few hours into the trip, the lead bus pulled over onto the highway shoulder and kicked out one of the people onboard, who had traveled on his own from Washington, DC. It was unclear exactly why he was ejected, but the man, who is part of a group that protests daily in support of people jailed for rioting at the Capitol on January 6, was left stranded in Florence, South Carolina, without his wallet, according to details discussed on a livestream of someone in contact with the man.

Throughout the day, the half-dozen people livestreaming the convoy spent much of their time responding to questions from some of the thousands of people watching.

Most of the questions were about the conspiracy that the convoy is a “setup” by the federal government to “entrap patriots.” That sense of paranoia has been present in the group from the very beginning, according to leaks of the group’s chats on Discord: “This will end up loaded with trolls and feds in no time,” one member wrote a week ago.

Paranoia was also prevalent on the Telegram channels used to coordinate the convoy in different parts of the country. “I hope it’s not another J6 trap. People need to pray for discernment about this. But after 3 years of this people are sick of it,” one member wrote, referring to the widely debunked conspiracy that the Capitol insurrection was a left-wing plan to trap Trump supporters.

On Monday, after the cars had started on the road, organizers issued a press release, claiming “groups are forming to infiltrate the convoy.” The statement also claims that “nowhere on the website does it say anything about the convoy going to the border,” which is inaccurate, as the route for the main convoy clearly states the final destination is Eagle Pass.

Additionally, one of the organizers of the convoy, Pete Chambers, told Alex Jones last week that his plan included traveling to the border to hunt migrants and work with local law enforcement to capture them. Among those traveling with the convoy, multiple people on Monday mentioned going to Eagle Pass. “We’re all going to the border,” one member declared on the livestream on Monday night.

Though the convoy’s start was full of mishaps, others planning to join the convoy still appear to be taking their plans seriously. Online, a number of people are openly talking about going to the border: “Those going to Eagle Pass on Saturday, message me,” one member of the Texas-focused Take Our Border Back Telegram channel wrote. “I'm organizing level 2 security detail composed of veterans and prior law enforcement guys. We're not going to engage any threats or go in guns blazing. We'll just keep a watchful eye and report any suspicious behavior.”

As the convoy has gained some media attention, the Telegram channels have been scrubbed of a lot of the more virulent, racist, and violent language used by members. However, leaks of the Telegram chat detail clearly how members spoke openly about “exterminating” migrants.

Since Abbott issued his letter in defiance of the Biden administration, he has seen support flow in from dozens of GOP governors and former president Donald Trump, who has urged other states to send troops to Texas. The convoy has been portrayed in right-wing media in recent days as part of a wider right-wing effort to support Abbott and resist Biden’s immigration policies, and as a result, its organizers have been able to raise over $140,000 on a Christian-focused crowdfunding website.

On Tuesday morning, the convoy departed Jacksonville for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a few more vehicles joining the group—but still no trucks.

I am still on a trail for this, but...I have reason to believe the alt-right has infiltrated zionist Jewish circles online.

This is a scenario that I believe needs to be further investigated at least on an "every accusation is an admission" basis: the zio side began trying to claim the pro-Palestine encampments at various colleges had been "invaded" by the alt-right, despite countless witness claims from the grounds that these were largely pro-Muslim, pro-Jewish left-leaning spaces that were quick to shut down any sort of fascist or xenophobic rhetoric...

...meanwhile, zionists have appropriated terms and practices from the alt-right and the Holocaust. The willingness to call an activist a "kapo" or other loaded historical terms, or use neonazi revisionist history, indicates to me that there is either a very, very toxic presence that needs to be identified and excised from the Judaic community, or there is outside interference that is encouraging these deeply antisemitic habits.

Why would a neonazi want to get involved with Jews? Well, they do not like us, and have a long history of being more than happy to steer political movements of any leanings off course. A neonazi sees this situation and has nothing to lose; they are encouraging the genocide of Middle Eastern peoples, and are helping make Jews look terrible and bloodthirsty to the rest of the world - a win-win in the mind of a white supremacist and/or christofascist. Zios as of late have been talking about graphically killing anti-zionists, something they were doing months before, but as of late it has intensified. Something has happened recently.

What is the alt-right endgame for the colonisation of Palestine? The whole purpose of "Israel" is to give landed Jewish citizens a legal "homeland" that they can move to or, potentially, be deported to. The existence of "Israel" as a full-fledged nation would be used as motivation to drive Jewish people out of North America. This is one of many reasons why I find the colony's existence to be counterintuitive as someone who identifies closely with my actual genealogical heritage, and my identity as a Canadian Jew. However, if the colony is given more support and legal validation, that'll be all the more pressure I (and countless others) would receive to "go home" there.

There have also been reports of zio flyers and posters being found in public that have razor blades taped to the reverse edges of the paper. This was a tactic last seen on alt-right propaganda flyers in the mid-2010s. This could imply it's another tactic the zios are learning from possible alt-right connections. These connections would not be identifying openly as alt-right, rather, they would be operating with sock accounts and false personas.

I hope I'm wrong. But, I also hope you all stay safe, and watch out for anyone trying to lead you down any violent path. Palestine will be free, and there is no place for white supremacy in Judaism. Be smart.

Some People's Children...

In the last month alone, our server has been subjected to so much nasty behavior from so many different people, it isn't even remotely amusing. 

We are volunteers. We try to help users with many kinds of Sims 4 related issues, but we are primarily the MCCC (MC Command Center) support Discord server. We don't HAVE to help with anything else, but we do, as we are available. 

But guess what? We have lives outside of Sims, and Discord, and sometimes, people have to wait for assistance. And sometimes, they REEK of entitlement, and impatience, and can be downright disgusting when they don't get their FREE HELP, Right NOW!! 

Case in point:

Tell me why we should put up with this. Good luck coming up with a reason. I can't find any, and we are NOT going to allow anyone acting like this to stay on the server. If you can't be nice and play well with others, you're not going to remain part of our community. 

One sad thing is, the above user could easily have answered their own initial question by doing a little searching, and reading, on Deaderpool's MCCC website. Instead, they chose to make their laziness and horrid attitude our problem, and they earned themselves a ban for it. 

Other examples: 

This one guy who has a hate on for one of our team members, who has carried their deluded gripe from a different server onto ours. Newsflash, cross-server drama is something else we want no part of. You can thank this dude for the extra level of security measures we've put in place between getting onto the server, and finding your way into useful channels. We will protect our own, whatever it takes.

LGBT+ hatred is another thing that will get someone bounced out of our server pretty quickly. 

Pirates whining about not being able to get support, also not welcome. Stealing is wrong. We're not wasting our time on working with your cracked code. 

Ban evaders who try to come back on alt accounts. 

Random people who think they have the right to tell team members what to do... you don't. Our server, our rules. 

People with unsupported NSFW mods.

ALL of this (and more) is covered, in detail, in the server-info channel. We're not joking when we tell you to read it at several points, and we know who doesn't bother. It shows, blatantly, as soon as some of you post.

We didn't spend the time crafting what's in the server-info channel, OR building the server at large, to have you come asking us in support or chat what file we want, or where it is, or where you should be posting, or any of a hundred other things you'd already know, if you'd slow down and just take five minutes to actually READ that one channel, before you do Anything Else, on the server. 

But no, some of you expect us to retype all sorts of things live, just for you, because you can't be bothered to help yourselves by doing a little reading... and we're just not interested in doing that for each of our 80,000+ members. 

Being on Deaderpool's server is not a right, it's a privilege. Entitlement coupled with nastiness is a HUGE trigger of mine, and I will ban you without remorse, in a heartbeat, for any kind of abusive behavior. And I am not alone.

If you're willing to abide by our rules, and help us keep the server a nice place, you're welcome to be part of our community. If you're just there to start trouble, you won't be there for long.

I actually resent having to explain myself because it's literally none of their fucking business, but obviously people are using a single like to make blanket statements about my entire character. People who don't even fucking know me are acting like they know me better than I know myself.

Yeah, resentment is up there.

So this is the original bit between Nojima and this angy horizon fan. Yeah, Horizon, not FF. They're not in the fandom, not a shipper, and their twts and replies stick to gaming.

Weirdly enough, people outside of the shipping community like FF and have opinions about the game and characters, and that includes Tifa.

Idky I have to break down my actions, but these are the two replies I made on the subject after the fact. I only saw the final reply because twitter is shit. Taking that into account, my opinion is that Nojima handled it, so people getting angry were going overboard, but also it wasn't okay for that person to go off at Nojima in the first place. There's ways to bring up the subject without insulting him, although he did reply, so you see it's not black/white. All in all I think everybody else should've stayed out of it. Nojima's not a baby.

The part I liked was to do with this sentence. Just this sentence. Weirdly enough twitter doesn't let you isolate parts of tweets. Crazy, right? So you either like the whole thing or you don't.

From my pov this came across as someone kinda angry but respectful. More importantly, Nojima replied to them more than once. He's having a conversation with them, which I found very decent of him considering this person isn't owed a response and usually Nojima doesn't give them one.

With that in mind, and the fact Nojima's literally 59 years old, a grown ass man and can handle a bit of aggro and has stated in the past that while he appreciates all the "protection" he can manage because he's literally a 59 year old grown ass man and doesn't need constant babying, I decided this was a civil thing and moved on. Everybody else decided Nojima should be bubble wrapped and went on the attack, called in the protection squad for Nojima's "safety" and then the asshole cleriths and Jairus did what they do best which is make alts and use them to make people think things that didn't happen.

Ftr while I think there are times it's nice to voice support to Nojima, especially when he seems insecure about his work, it's not okay to dogpile people and do to them what they did to him, only worse because there's hundreds of you and only one of them, no matter how nasty they've been. Y'all ain't better because you're defending Nojima. And he's still almost 60 years old and knows how to use mute/block. Stop infantalising him.

It doesn't help the stink of oppression about the fandom. People can't express their feelings unless they're stepford wife gurning with glee. They can't say or do anything without approval from some fat head who thinks they're fandom mom, wagging their finger and telling people to shut up because they don't like what you're saying. Harassing the devs isn't okay. Ever. But it's also not okay to act like the fandom is a police state.

I’ve been a practicing pagan since 2018ish. I began working with Hermes in late 2021 when I was traveling both by myself for the first time, and for the first time since COVID lockdown. I was insanely nervous and began to pray to Hermes before, during, and after my trip. As I began to do more research about Hermes I began to slowly realize that he has been present in my life for most of it, and I started to officially work with Hermes in early 2022. As of right now (June 2023) he is currently my primary deity and the only one I’m working with, however in the past I have worked with other deities including Loki, Apollo, and Aphrodite, and I will probably work with other deities in the future as I continue to grow and explore my path.

Fun facts about me: Audhd babie! My current hyperfixations/special interests include Critical Role Campaign 2, autism (lol), Hozier, and Languages/linguistics. I also have POTS and a handful of mental illnesses/disorders that I’m untangling. I figure I should finally get around to doing one of these.

I go by mattercoil online and I am a 21+ non-binary person with adhd and autism. I’m asexual and bi-romantic. I feel kinda weird as a trans reddit refugee who wasn’t actually active in r/196, I ended up over here because r/traa was shutting down.

I’m very active in political causes in real life and that tends to bleed over into my online persona. I’m sorry if you don’t like politics; I understand it’s not a topic most people like to talk about but I live in a state that seeks to make my life illegal and I feel it’s important for me to vocalize.

My other major hobby is just being outside. I will do just about anything if it’s in the woods. I love caving, bouldering, foraging, and hiking.

I have something I put on a reblog about my past as someone who was active in the alt-right. I feel like this is something I have to be public about because I said and did horrible things to people in some misguided hope of fitting it. I don’t want people to feel like I hid my past or betrayed them. I live my life trying to be better and to bring more joy and comfort into the world for queer people than I ruined in my early teen years, but I understand if you unfollow/block me because of it.

There is a community on reddit that I was somewhat active in that was r/kitchenconfidential. this community is why I have cook by trade in my bio. I have worked more than five years in BoH and while I occasionally have worked other jobs (and even want to get out of the industry for good) the food industry is where my heart will always be.

Most of the pre-existing Heartstopper fan base and certainly most of the fans on Tumblr are the Charlie Springs of the world. And for them, this show is about the possibility of healthy romance (i want to believe in romaaance) and creating a loving queer community.

But, gosh, I hope the Nick Nelsons of the world find this show. Now that Heartstopper is in the mainstream, I hope the people who have more marginalized identities, who never thought about being anything other than straight but for whom straight doesn’t feel *quite* right, those who deal with toxic masculinity/femininity and don’t feel like they have real friends, this show is for them as much as the Charlies.

Listen I know Kit absolutely BODIED Nick Nelson but Joe Locke also absolutely killed it.

Like his nervous giggles? His chemistry with the entire friendship group? Every interaction with Tori? And he’s already portraying Charlie’s mental illness so well and subtly. That boy is killin it.
