Given the common thread between all of my favorites, neither of them live.
1. Yes they have to fight, 2. Tell me who’s fighting who in the tags! (I’ll add the most ridiculous combos in a reblog)
#Kyoji Kasshu/Schwarz Bruder versus Shadow the Hedgehog#Shadow curb-stomps him. Even with the gundam. Kyoji's only recourse is to de-escalate or go into hiding.#G Gundam spoilers#fandoms#crossover#polls#I have an idea of how a regular-ass fight would start (and who would win that)#Kyoji makes fun of Domon by asking if Shadow is Domon as a furry and Shads overhears and beats his ass Kamille style#even if we're assuming we're working with Schwarz to give him the best chance possible at winning#Shadow is not quite gullible enough and a lot too fast for Schwarz to hard counter him the way he initially beats Domon#Schwarz *maybe* gets a hit or two in.#in an actual to-the-death scenario#only way Schwarz would have a shot at surviving is if he had time to strategize and prepare (MAYBE. HE'S FIGHTING A SPEEDSTER.)#if he had foreknowledge of Shadow's capabilities and weaknesses (hard to justify)#and he'd also probably benefit from Domon's help (easiest thing on this list)#Schwarz is brilliant but he's not fucking winning if it comes to actual blows#and if a Chaos Emerald came into play it would be over for him since he'd be relying on trapping Shads with an environmental hazard#which would no longer be lethal to someone who could teleport out#plus Shadow has plenty of experience fighting robots (giant ones) which would give him an advantage against any of the gundam fighters#even if we dragged the Ultimate Gundam into this the Ultimate Lifeform would still come out on top because of his super mode

"Become my Doll" Yandere! England X Reader Oneshot drabble.
Not incredibly explicit. But mentions alcohol and kidnapping so like not for all readers.
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Drunk in a bar, lost in a haze, vulnerable to manipulation of the magic British man. He’s had a long-standing obsession with you, and now he’s going to capture you.
Yet another lonely night where you had no desire to go home. You wanted to do nothing but forget your difficult day: rude people, too many food orders at once, and a plethora of stupid comments and questions that came your way.
You wanted to scream, you wanted to yell, you wanted to wring someone out for lacking empathy for you as you struggled throughout your day. Being in the serving industry was a pain.
All you had was your papers, pens, & penicillin drink that was halfway finished due to the alcohol sweetly numbing your nerves. You could forget about the troubles plaguing your life. You were blissfully unaware of the emerald eyes that had attached themselves to you. They surveyed your every labored move that was coated with sadness. Every minute that passed by as you were mindlessly scrolling your social media or looking through the 30K+ photos saved to your phone that you could use for your next art piece. You’d get sucked in by one of the colorful pictures of your past, wondering how you’d gotten from there to here.
The rabbit hole you’d fallen into had just begun. One of your favorite songs started to play before the chaos of the world pervaded your life in every way.
As you decided to dive into your interests when you were younger and happier. Old cartoons were the first thing that appeared in your mind's eye. All the early morning weekend days that held all the nostalgic imported works mainly from Japan, maybe one or two from Italy and France. The bright colors that had attached themselves to each outfit. Your mind wandered off to episodes that you liked the most. You picked up your pencil & pulled your your reference board on Pinterest. You got to work. Music from the show of the past filled your ears for the majority of the night.
Blissfully unaware of the danger you were in. You were in treacherous waters. The alcohol in your system only made you more susceptible to the risks on the horizon.
Eyes that were only a few tables off.
Said eyes that were attached had summoned a cute magical being. Its mint wings fluttered and flicked. The tail and fuzzy ears perked up to meet his master's command. He snapped his fingers. The flying bunny immediately knew it was time to carry out his task. The creature perched himself on your shoulder. Of course, you were oblivious to the magical being since you lacked the gift to see it at all.
The British Gentleman in his pressed black suit had the clear advantage. Arthur enjoyed taking in your beautiful face, just like the gin that was intoxicating him.
He let his eyes wander back to the ancient spell, which he reread a few more times. He even used his pointer finger to underline the words. Arthur wanted to perform this spell with precision and perfection. He silently whispered the words.
The papers below his finger began to glow faintly. The crimson light brimmed over with how intense his emotions were for you. However, he had to continue to keep it under wraps, or he risked botching the spell.
You’d just completed your sketch & you were ready to set down your pen lines. You had noticed that your left shoulder felt somewhat heavy. It was time to get up and refresh your body as you downed the rest of your cocktail in two gulps. Your eyes wandered around the bar, and you stretched your stiff limbs out. When they landed on a figure of a British man that you were sure you’d seen before.
However, your memories of meeting him before were covered in a thick brain fog. You didn’t flinch like you would have before. You were at most only 1% sure you’d met him before. Even still, your heart still trembled a bit.
‘No, no I’ve had a couple of drinks….I’m overthinking it.’ You reassure yourself. You catch the bartender's attention to get a glass of sparkling water. You wandered over to the large open windows that let in the late evening air. You allowed the crisp night air to fill your lungs. The atmosphere began to feel a little suffocating. Black spots occasionally dotted your vision. You swore you’d felt an invisible hand playfully draw a line down your back.
When you whipped your head around to see how that happened, there was no patron nearby.
Your left shoulder felt like it had a heavy weight on it. The eyes that were on you felt as though they were devouring the sight of you greedily. You dared not to turn your head back to look at the British Man who continued to read silently. Even though his back was to you, it felt like he had eyes in the back of his head.
‘It’s okay Y/N. Breathe. Breathe.’ You reassure yourself. You slow down your breathing by taking in deep five-second inhales & five-second exhales. Booze, cologne & the smell of aged oakwood filled your nostrils. All these scents combined were familiar and comforting.
Your senses were put into a higher state of alertness when a waft of ‘Penhaligon’s The Tragedy of Lord George.’ Plugged your nose. You recognized this aroma. It made the hairs on your neck stand on high. Your nervous system was set on red alert.
“AY YO! Y/N ! Y/N! WE’RE TAKING A SHOT!” Your bartender friend snapped you out of your traverse to the subconscious truth that you were having a difficult time gaining access to. It just quite couldn’t break through the surface as you walk back to your seat at the edge of the bar. You noticed that the British man had now occupied the seat that was right next to yours. He was admiring your sketch work.
“What’s the occasion?” You ask curiously. “I got you a shot, love. Cheers to you & your talents.” He had a smooth, buttery British accent that transformed people into steamy vapors. It disarmed your nervous system to a degree, but not entirely. You were still on alert.
Your face became thoroughly flushed at the sweet compliment & gesture. Your bartender friend slid you (insert favorite spirit here). The bartender, along with the handsome British man, raised their shot glasses & you followed suit.
“Cheers!” The glasses clink together & you toss it back in one swift gulp. You could have sworn there was an obscure and peculiar aftertaste in your drink. But you’d ignored it for now. Maybe it was due to the last drink you had.
“I’m sorry to bother you, love. My name is Arthur, and as I came to order my next cocktail, I couldn’t help but notice your lovely sketches.” You couldn’t quite place why it felt as though you were a moth being drawn to a flame, but you sat down next to Arthur anyway.
“Thanks, I’m self-taught. I enjoy drawing when I’m stressed out or need an escape.” He chuckles and gives you a sly smile. You could have sworn you’d seen a mischievous glint within the pool of his verdant eyes. You know you’ve seen that before, haven’t you? Your mind was still clogged with a thick foggy smoke. Unable to remember why you were uncomfortable…..no somewhat terrified to be near the man sitting right next to you.
Yet the energy in the air & the alcohol in your system numbs your mind. You were at ease amid the brewing storm. The stiffness you began to feel was back, but it was starting to affect your feet and shins first. The memories that sought to keep you safe couldn’t be assessed due to his flying furry friend keeping your mind in a thick haze, and he began to devour them.
“You must have been working on it for a long time for it to look this good. Quite exquisite.” As you’d come to sit down, he’d somehow captured your right hand and bestowed a kiss on it.
Shockwaves of bright electricity swept through you, followed by an instant stiffness that began to take it over.
‘What’s this feeling that's beginning to take me over?’ It was rather exciting to have the attention of the man with stunning, magical green glowing eyes. Was that hunger you saw within the depths of his orbs?
“Thank you. Hahaha, it’s not much, but it’s honest work.” You say sheepishly with an attempt at faking confidence with a comedic punch. You noticed a swampy, thick tenseness creeping into the air. You couldn’t help but wonder if you drank over your limit somehow. It felt as though you were now unable to move your shins and feet, and that feeling was beginning to spread more. But since you were relatively inebriated and enjoying your high, you didn’t want to consider it too much. You were out of your depth, and the incoming storm began devouring you like a hungry beast.
All your mind could really think about was that you still had to line your sketch, think about possible color palettes….. And why did he seem so familiar? Why couldn’t you place your finger on it?
As the night dragged on, you passively entertained the strangely familiar British man as he droned on about whatever it was. Your body continued to get stiffer progressively. It’s a if you were turning into a doll. You were unable to move your legs at this point and you failed to the glow that was emanating from his book and how it seemed to grow more powerful thought the night.
Or was that just the alcohol in your system talking?
The familiar calming lull and dizziness of the booze that had engulfed your system. It wasn’t just that it was the powerful magic that was also taking you over.
It had been a while since you’d spoken to the curious British man….but why had the motion of your Micron stopped moving? You try to move it again, but it’s as if your bones were made of plastic, wood, or stone….. Regardless of how hard you tried, you were unable to move any of your muscles anymore. It was like being in sleep paralysis but much worse.
“Arthur.” Now that the name has some time to sink in, some of the smog in your brain has been swept away. Important fragments of memories shot up to your consciousness. That was until the mint rabbit grabbed and devoured them.
It didn’t matter much anyway; much of your mind couldn’t comprehend.
Your body had been turned into stone. It could only move at the command of the psycho British man. Who now had complete control.
You’d been turned into a doll against your will now; you could be molded into anything he pleased.
At the night's end, all your stuff had been abandoned in your favorite bar. You’d been taken deep into the abyss of the night. No one would be able to find you. Not at all.
You’d been turned into England’s doll that would obey his every whim. Long gone where the days of freedom. You were meant to serve him.

Amity Park is an unusual place. Home to the ghost crazed inventors Jack and Maddie Fenton and their two children, Jasmine and Daniel Fenton.
It is a peaceful town, if only when the Fenton's aren't up to their shenanigans, besides that it was a town were nothing to significant happened.
Which is why it was so weird how the town was built right next to a magical leyline.
(His parents are actually weirdly connected now that he thinks of it.)
Now you see, Danny never cared about his parents' obsession with ghosts, nor their apparent 'portal to hell' that's a work in progress.
(Danny is 12 here AGAIN because I'm just built like that)
He did like to invent small versions of the Chaos Emeralds from the sonic comics he asked his parents for. He was honestly completely surprised they managed to get him actual real-life copies of the comics, considering they ceased productions years before he was born.
He isn't even going to ask any questions about the where and how.
So, he read through the books, told his two friends about it and they came over then they read together. Sam was a bit surprised, since even her parents didn't know where to source them from.
So, you give a twelve-year-old access to discontinued comics about a hedgehog who can run faster than the speed of soun and he sees these super powerful gems and has access to highly advanced tech made his parents (mostly ghost centered but eh) and you expect him not to do anything?
So, he, Tucker and Sam came together and sketched out a design for what they wanted this machine to look like to (hopefully) make their own versions of the Chaos Emeralds.
It wouldn't be the real thing, but they just want something close enough that they can look at.
So, they drew the machine, trying to see which parts would be needed in the actual building part of it. To which they kinda grew to a stump at, Tucker is insanely good with computers, Danny is insanely good at building things and Sam has extensive knowledge of the occult and money.
But they weren't good with the actual designing part. The drawing was pretty crude, not as good as his parents' blueprints, but it was good enough. They just couldn't figure out what materials would go where and which they would even need.
Then his parents caught a glance at what they were working on and extended their help, surprising all three of them since this wasn't anything ghost related. With their help the actual parts for the machine came together, and sure the design had to be changed a bit here and there, but it was worth it!
They didn't know where exactly to build said machine though. Until Sam mentioned the nearby forest, and really, it just went on from there.
So there they were, walking through the forest, looking for the perfect spot to build their machine. Finally coming to at a small hill, Danny decided to build the machine here!
It was the perfect spot for a replica of a super powerful, mega awesome giant emerald!
The spot did however feel really weird, like there was something living in the area. Not that Danny minded though, he wouldn't be a Fenton if he didn't ignore something crazy like this!
Sam was honestly just there for the vibe to be honest.
Tucker was persuaded to be here with the newest PDA that came out and practically unlimited data (He was going to be there anyways but who could pass up that.)
So it took a while, having to carry the materials out there (or carrying them in a cart, for the bigger pieces) and then having Danny putting it all together with his friends handing him some pieces here and there, and then Sam and Tucker having to goddamn drag Danny away from the unfinished machine to take a break and play a game.
Most of the time, Sam would distract herself with reading some occult books, while Tucker would surf the internet while Danny built his machine.
After about a week Danny finally managed to bring the machine to life, a giant mold in the middle of it in the shape of the Master Emerald when it came together and 21 smaller molds.
Coincidently, that was also the time his parents finished their 'portal to hell'.
So, Danny closed the machine, pouring the resin for the master emerald into the machine while his friend poured in resin of different colors into the other molds.
White for Danny.
Black for Sam.
Red for Tucker.
And green for the Master Emerald.
After that, well. All that was left was to turn it on, so they did.
At the exact moment the Fenton's turned on their ghost portal.
The magical energies of the leyline flooded into the molds of the gems, it was extremely chaotic and unfocused, its magical energies unable to be controlled.
For there to then be what is basically the perfect vessels for its excess power?
Well, safe to say it took the opportunity as it was.
At the exact same time Ectoplasm flooded into the world from the portal, and the door to the other side was opened.
The world, tilted off the combined events of the portal opening and the leyline finding a vessel for its power.
Shifted.
Then it and another world became one, a relatively smooth transition as barely anyone noticed.
Barely.
But that isn't what we're going to focus on right now. ;)
The entirety of Amity Park experienced city-wide electronic mayhem. Basic household appliances started going wack, as did their phones or anything electronic. Then the power went out as an earthquake ran through the city.
It stopped as suddenly as it began, everything was normal. So the Amity parkers went on about their day as normal too.
Danny, Sam and Tucker were knocked unconscious by the event, to which they then awoke about an hour later and saw the sight of their machine broken beyond repair. Danny ran forward and cried over the loss of his hard work, then Sam and Tucker got him to look up a bit higher to see it.
The Master Emerald in all of its beautiful, rainbow glory, and floating around was 21 gems made alongside it.
At first, Danny was stunned, unable to figure out how the hell the gem replicas are floating when they were made to be just that, replicas and not anything else.
They then floated down to each of them, the reds circling Tucker, the blacks circling Sam and the whites circling Danny.
And Danny, being 12 years old forgot all about that and went fuck it.
They stayed there for a while, playing with their new gems. They tried to be responsible, they swear! But they just couldn't help but test what they could do...
They found out that, while they aren't as powerful as the originals in the comics. They were still pretty damn strong, so then Sam had the great idea to train themselves in the usage of the gems like responsible people would.
(Which is basically just an excuse to run over to her books and try out each and every spell she could see.)
Which is how they also found out that the Master Emerald replica also had the ability to render their own gems inert like in the comics after they went a bit overboard with them.
Then they came back home and apparently ghosts are a thing now. They politely kept their new gems and the existence of the giant one a secret.
And like that, two years passed by. All of them now 14 and having very good control over the gems, with the help of the Master Emerald that somehow became semi-sentient and finding out that the reason why it happened is because they literally built the machine on top of a magical leyline.
They took on the role of guarding the gem, just like Knuckles the Echidna. Which also doubles as their hangout spot too, so there's that.
They had super-secret personas and totally cool outfits for when they're guarding it too. Which isn't really necessary since nothing happens, but they don't really care about that too be honest.
Amity Park is a relatively closed off town, new faces only being there in the ways of tourists. It is a peaceful town, minus all the ghosts and the Fenton's in their battles, it is a nice town where nothing too big happens.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker thought so as well. Thought that nobody would find out about their little secret.
They were not pleased when they found some old British guy was walking around the Master Emerald.
The Fenton parents were very pleased when three of earth's greatest heroes, batguy, supersomething and Wondergirl pulled up at their doorstep asking to see their inventions. (They swear they could never quite remember those three's names, what with all the ghost fighting, realizing they weren't quite right in their research and renouncing everything they ever said about ghosts as a whole while also trying to reconnect with their kids after realizing how neglectful they've been over the years.)

Uncontrolled Chaos: Chapter 10
Notes: This one is a bit shorter and not my fav, but I officially have the flu and am slightly delulu while typing this.. Probably should wait until I'm better to make more BUT I'M STUCK AT HOME AND BORED SO-
Summary: Shadow and Rouge come to some conclusions. Sonic is Sonic.
Chapter Select!
Link to my AO3!
Start:
“Shadow, as much as I love the idea of havin’ you on the team, that never happened.” It was a pretty crazy story. Delusional, honestly.
Shadow being on Sonic’s team and with them on a mission to take out one of Eggman’s facilities only to have Sonic nearly get taken out by a blast and Shadow pull the sacrifice card and shove him out of the way using Chaos Control– yeah, no. That never happened. And Sonic seriously doubted it ever would.
“Why would I make something like that up??” Shadow questions, his own arms crossed now defensively as he looks at Sonic with both a disappointed and offended expression.
“I honestly have no idea,” Sonic huffs with a shrug, “I would say you’re playing a prank, but you don’t do that.”
“Well– it happened,” Shadow mutters, his previous soft and relieved gaze he had reserved just for Sonic now turned into a hesitant and skeptical one.
“No. It didn’t,” Sonic insists impatiently, his own arms crossing now, “And I can prove it. Because you don’t even have a chaos emerald currently. They were all spread out again after Starfall Islands, and none have been detected since.
Shadow’s eyes narrow at Sonic at that in a challenging sort of way, Sonic’s own narrowing right back. Then Shadow reaches behind his quills, “I used this,” and pulls out the amber-colored chaos emerald–
Or so it appears.
Sonic looks baffled for a moment, eyes widening at it as he immediately swipes it out of Shadow’s hand, “Where did you–!?”
He pauses.
Stares at it, holds it in his grasp and lets its energy flow through him.
“This–” “Is a fake,” Rouge confirms with a small tilt of her head at it. “But the fake one is supposed to be on the ARK,” Sonic questions with a furrow of his brow at the bat. “It was up until a few years back. When the Time Eater came? Shadow went to the ARK to investigate some strange readings that were detected there. I helped him out by getting him to a GUN rocket. He took them emerald then,” she explains with a small shrug. Shadow stares at her like she’s absolutely pulled that straight out of her ass. “... No..? No, Sonic and I went there together in Tails’ ship to investigate, and I got it then..” Sonic and Rouge both look at him with a frown then, Sonic laughing a bit at how weird this all is, “Uhh- no. No, buddy, that didn’t happen.”
“Yes, it did– why do you keep saying that???” Shadow argues, his voice becoming increasingly annoyed and distressed. “Because it didn’t!” Sonic insists, his hands spreading at his sides as if this is obvious, “Just like I wasn’t with you when you used Chaos Control with that fake emerald!”
“Yes, you were!!! Stop saying that!!”
“No, I–” “BOYS! Boys… let’s just.. Take a breath, huh??” Rouge says, stepping between where Shadow lays in the bed still and where Sonic stands beside it. She gently pushes Sonic back, creating space between them despite how they continue to glare at each other over her shoulder.
She sighs a bit, looking at Sonic with a look of ‘really?? You were supposed to be helping me’ before looking back to Shadow with a softer look. One of concern.
“Okay. Something is clearly wrong here–” “Uh- yeah. It’s him,” Sonic grumbles behind her, Rouge’s foot moving to stomp on his toe in response. Sonic winces and jerks his toe from under her heel with a glare to the back of her head, but she speaks before he can whine about it. “Shadow, Sonic is right..,” Shadow frowns at her words, staring at her with a growing uncertainty in his eyes, “You weren’t with him and his team on a mission. You were on your own on an op for GUN investigating readings at an abandoned research facility. HQ briefly lost communications with you before locking onto your location several miles away and carrying you back here. They had just assumed you used Chaos Control to get out, but no one knows what really happened other than you.”
Shadow looks at her with knitted brows and his lips slightly parted. He glances at Sonic over her shoulder who has seemingly chilled out some but still looks a bit annoyed. Either way, there’s curiosity and concern in Sonic’s eyes as well.
“...I’m starting to think I don’t belong here,” Shadow mutters after a long moment of thinking, his arms hugging around his own torso as he looks back to Rouge.
“Yeah. Me too,” Rouge says with a small tilt of her head, sympathy in the way she places her hand on his shoulder.
Sonic, who now looks absolutely lost behind them, drops his jaw and then shakes his head, “Wait, wait, wait– what am I missing here???”
“He hasn’t just lost his memories, Blue, he has completely different ones,” Rouge explains, glancing to Sonic over her shoulder. “None of what I’ve said seems to make any sense to you two..,” Shadow mutters as he stares blankly at the wall ahead of them. “So the only real explanation here is… this Shadow isn’t our Shadow,” Rouge finishes with a frown, removing her hand from the ebony hedgehog’s shoulder to cross her arms over her chest in thought.
Sonic stares between the two of them, trying to process what the hell they’re even saying before he rubs a hand on his head and groans, “I’m getting a headache..” “Join the club,” Shadow mutters with a roll of his eyes, no longer seeming to have this unbearable need to look at Sonic at all times. Instead, his eyes remain locked on nothing, staring ahead of him with an emotionless expression. It’s unsettling how quickly this Shadow molded right into looking just like their own grumpy Shadow.
…Speaking of- where is the original Shadow??
Sonic lets his hand fall to his side again with a little sigh and, “Okay, okay, so… let’s say we stick with this theory. You’re not our Shadow. So where is our Shadow???” Shadow doesn’t answer. Rouge looks to Sonic at this and knits her brows up, “...We don’t know.”
“Oh..,” Sonic says quietly, his ears flattening slightly to his head a moment before they perk up again, “Well maybe they just traded places!”
Rouge nods at this, taking a deep breath before sighing out, “Maybe… yeah, we’re gonna stick with that for now.”
Sonic winks with a thumbs up, “Cool. So two different Shadows changed places in worlds. We’ve got the hypotenuse, now we just need the explanation so we can work on a solution.” “It’s hypothesis,” Shadow corrects. “Pretty sure its hypotenuse, new Shadow. Anyway! What do we think caused the switcheroo??”
“I don’t know..,” Rouge frowns as she looks at Shadow, her mind racing with all the possibilities of what this could mean. She isn’t a genius by any means, and this isn’t her field of expertise.. But she was sharp. And she knew this couldn’t be good.
They needed help.
“I say we get him out of here before we discuss this any further,” she mutters, her eyes glancing up to the security camera in the corner of the room, “We’ve probably said too much already..”
Sonic and Shadow’s eyes follow hers to the camera before they exchange knowing glances and nod in agreement.
“Then let’s do it to it,” the blue blur adds with a smirk, looking back to new Shadow, “I’ve been craving some excitement anyway.”
Shadow looks back to Sonic at that, a slight smile on his muzzle but nothing more.

A team effort
Cg! Sonic Team (mainly Amy) x Little! Metal Sonic and his friends discover a suprisingly gentle side to metal, and decided to care for him in his moment of vulnerability.
TW: Mention of nappy, mention of change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Metal was out and about, having wandered away from Eggman's lab. He had grown tired of the boring loud atmosphere, and Orbot and Cubot were certainly getting on his nerves. Since they didn't have the same memory card that he or Sage had, they were clumsy and forgetful. This resulted in spilled oil all over the lab, lots of angry yells and threats to 'scrap them' from Eggman, and Metal chose to leave. As he walked through the palm trees hoping to unwind...
*CLONK*
A familiar pink hammer clobbered him on the head, knocking him flat to the ground.
"Sonic! I got him!" A familiar voice chirped. Metal Sonic rotated his head, finding Amy, the pink hedgehog, proudly boasting to Sonic. Sonic dashed over to Metal and leaned down.
"So! We meet again, bud!" Metal's oil boiled. He hated Sonic. It was in his programming to do so. He extracted his claws and his jets fired up, his offensive programming engaged. However before he could so much as lift a finger, Amy scooped him up.
"EEE! So adorable! I'll never understand why eggman made such a cutie!" Amy squealed at Metal Sonic. Sonic rolled his eyes.
"You think anything that looks like me is cute. whether it's shadow, or silver..." "Can it, Sonic!" Amy blurted out, flustered. She'd definetly mistaken one too many hedgehogs for Sonic. It never got less embarassing. Metal sonic reached to claw sonic, but Amy bopped his hand with the hammer.
"HEY! Gentle hands, Metal!" Amy chided. Metal retracted his hand to himself. He felt... odd. He hated team sonic, but why did he feel so at ease with Amy? It was strange. She radiated motherly vibes, and he needed that at the moment. Plus, he was losing some oil in his head from the not so gentle bop, so he rested his metal head on her shoulder, and knocked out.
...
He rebooted a few hours later in Tail's hideout. He was sitting on the table, and Tails, Amy, Sonic, and Rouge. Knuckles was out protecting the chaos emerald again. Metal Sonic found himself back in the familiar fabrics of his favorite onesie and nappy, and...
The gloves. Ugh.
He struggled to rip them off, letting out a loud series of chirps and beeps, many filled with colorful words. Rouge rolled her eyes and turned to Amy.
"Don't worry about him, he's a major drama queen." Rouge spoke, indifferent. She shooed away sonic and Tails since Metal was mad at them, and she turned back to Amy.
"Seems like you've got your hands full this time. I left a list of stuff he might need and what to do, so good luck. Now, if you don't need anything else, I'm gonna go visit Knuckles~" She chuckled slyly, before spreading her bat wings and flying off. So now Amy was left with a particularly cranky and mad Metal Sonic. Joys.
Amy started by making a hot bottle of oil. It was REALLY hot. When she went to feed Metal, Metal immediately took it in. However she didn't realize that the hotter the oil, the worse the oil leakage would be to change later. After he took in the oil, he let out a content chirp, and relaxed in her arms. She took this as a good sign and carried him out to the common area. Amy sat him down on a blanket and let him play with some toys. They weren't the craziest thing, but still entertaining enough for Metal. As he sat there stacking blocks, a sudden thought of sonic reoccured in his brain, and he became filled with jealousy at the thought of someone else getting Amy's love and attention. he slammed his fists into the tower of blocks and let out a low angry chirp.
Other than his fit of anger, Metal was doing fine for a few hours...
Until Amy came in.
She was holding a tray of bot-friendly cookies. "Metal, I'm ba- YIPES!!" She dropped the tray and gasped at the mess. The oil had caused an epic leak, and his lower half of the onesie had stained black, as well as the carpet. The heavy smell of gasoline filled the air. Amy groaned knowing she was going to have to clean this up-
"Hey Ames! How's- oh ew!" Sonic had came in and was wincing at the sight. Metal's jet's fired up again and he let out a low growl. He hated Sonic, and his jealousy was coursing through him. However Amy picked him up and carried him away from Sonic. Amy laid him onto the work table and tried to get him changed, but had too weak of a stomach to deal with the oil leakage. So Sonic took over and changed him at lightspeed while Amy held Metal Sonic's arms down, lest they both get shredded or pounded. After many loud chirps and growls, Metal was clean and finally asleep.
Eggman at that moment had realized Metal had been gone for about a day, so he followed the oil drip trail from where Amy had bonked him. It led him to Tail's hideout, and he pounded on the door.
"WHERE'S MY SON?? OPEN UP!!" Eggman demanded from outside. Amy opened the door, holding Metal Sonic, who was asleep. Eggman immediately grabbed him. "I thought- what-" "We took care of him numbskull. You're welcome." Amy slammed the door shut in his face. Eggman took in the sight of his comfortable and safe son. He let out a huff of approval and took him back to the lab.

Amy found herself glaring at Sonic and Rouge’s arms touching. Or how they laughed together, how they exchanged glances rather than words and they simply understood each other. Amy hated it, she hated the tight feeling in her gut at every brush of Sonic’s quills against Rouge and how she would smack his arm and scold him about it. She hated how her head spun when Rouge bent over to pick something up and Sonic would turn around, but Amy watched, face hot and throat dry as Rouge’s shirt would slip forwards ever so slightly…
She hated how the same feeling came up when Rouge did the same things to Shadow. Though the darker hedgehog never reciprocated like Sonic or Knuckles did, it seemed that Rouge was close with everyone but her.
Rouge would wrap her arm around Amy’s, her chest pressing against Amy’s shoulder since the bat was taller than her, and Amy had to make an effort to not glance down. Her stomach fluttered when Rouge would pull her into the sky, holding her close to her body so her skirt would not fly up. Sonic would hold her bridal style, fisting her skirt and letting Amy cling onto him. But Rouge had one arm wrapped around her waist, the other under her tail where Amy would have to either wrap her ankles around Rouge’s body, or to press her thighs together as she was flying above the trees of their island.
Flying was more scary than running at Mach speed, Amy would tell herself. It was not because her ears would flicker against Rouge’s chest and the woman would chuckle, vibrating through Amy’s head and making her blush. It wasn’t because Amy liked Rouge, after all, she loved Sonic. How could she also love Rouge?
One day Rouge caught her staring and just as Amy was about to play it off, Rouge winked.
She winked.
And Amy’s body erupted into flames.
Amy ran off, tripping over her heels and nearly sending her flying down, if it wasn’t for Sonic grabbing her waist. She turned half as red as her dress, only getting worse when Rouge flapped by and helped her up as well. Her head spun faster, no longer having the composure to not dumbly stare into Sonic’s eyes that she swore were twin chaos emeralds, then to Rouge’s chest that just so happened to be directly in front of her face when she turned her head. Everything went dark, panicked voices fading out alongside her consciousness.
Maybe she could love both of them, either way the combination of Rouge and Sonic made her chest leap through her throat and her brain short circuit and overheat. Explaining why she ran off like that would be hard, but she endured worse.

A World Without Sonic the Hedgehog
This document talks about the following entries:
Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
SegaSonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog CD
Knuckles' Chaotix
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Heroes
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Prime
The beginning of a videogame is important.
You need to make a good impression so as to encourage those just trying the game (or just trying it at an associate’s place) to commit to a purchase.
But you also need to teach those same players how to play the game, a hurdle that’s extra tough when accounting for those who have never picked up a controller before.
Older games usually had to dedicate their entire first levels into being subtle tutorials, teaching everything important without halting the flow of the game (it helps that back then it was normalised to print the game’s control scheme in a small booklet that came with the game).
Sonic the Hedgehog 1 was no different, if you passed the game to someone who had never played videogames before ever, you’re most likely going to see one thing first of all.
The player learns how to move left or right, and then walks straight into the first robot (a Motobug) and die.
That’s fine, obviously, that’s why the Motobug is even there in the first place, with rings just prior, so the player learns how to jump before they can continue with the game and see what it has to offer for them.
But I can’t help but wonder…
What if that was Sonic’s fate?
We may never truly know, but here's what I think would happen, in...
A World Without Sonic the Hedgehog
Era 0: the… Where’s the Timeline?
Wait, what?
Ah, right. With no Sonic, Shadow and Silver would never travel back in time to stop Mephiles and Iblis from escaping, creating the fiery post-apocalypse followed by the complete erasure of time itself as Solaris forms and destroys all.
But then Sonic never would’ve died against the Motobug to begin with, since that future never even comes to be, so how would we be able to say this happens for sure when the cause and effect are only possible due to a stable time loop of unknown origin?
Let’s… for simplicity’s sake, let’s assume this is in a timeline where 06 was already undone, shall we? We want to actually have a timeline, afterall.
Era 1: Classic Games
Our inciting incident, Sonic learns what’s happening on South Island, the animals being trapped and turned into robots by his long-time nemesis, Eggman, and runs off to help… directly into that first Motobug.
Eggman’s bounty system, which he had in place long enough that civilian trains he secretly made before this time period were using them, would mean that motobug would get any one “wish” it desired granted, within Dr. Eggman’s realistic capabilities. Likely nothing would come of this, but it is possible that it requests to, like, become Eggman’s strongest robot or something.
Eggman gets his hands on the 6 Chaos Emeralds hiding out amongst the island (given he achieves this even when Sonic stops him, as evidenced by the bad ending of Sonic 1), and from there gains the power needed to take over the world.
As for the supporting cast:
Mighty and Ray probably still get captured, and may or may not escape from Eggman Island. Presumably they do, given the game can be beaten solo or with a team of two as-is. They’re likely Eggman’s biggest obstacles going forward, just by virtue of Eggman’s rapid expansion.
With Eggman in charge, the fate of the world would likely have a resemblance to the Bad Futures of Sonic CD, the world in Sonic Forces, and New Yoke City in Sonic Prime.
But what about the 7th Chaos Emerald? We see at the end of Sonic Origin’s Sonic 1 that the 7th joined up with the other 6 when flying to South Island, but with them never making the trip where was it in the first place? Would it fly off somewhere? And if not to Westside Island, then to where?
It’s not a stretch to say Eggman will eventually be able to find it, especially since Tails is able to make an emerald radar by the time 3&K come around, and Eggman develops his own emerald radar by Sonic Adventure 2.
Amy Rose, whether due to some unconfirmed burgeoning clairvoyance or just fortune telling being an accurate method of telling the future in this continuity, would not get the same warning of a hero saving her on Little Planet, and as such would have no reason to go. Now, would Eggman grab the Time Stones?
Maybe.
But also maybe not. If he thinks the Chaos Emeralds are that much better he might just decide there’s no point, like when he left the Master Emerald behind because he was so impressed with the Phantom Ruby.
Given the Chaos Emeralds are also capable of time travel, it’s really a moot point in the grand scheme of things.
Tails, without Sonic to save him from bullies, would likely go on to develop vaguely similar to Nine from Sonic Prime (given that his mindset was born as a direct result of never being saved from bullies). Now that's not to say that he'll wind up exactly the same, the whole point of the Shatterverse is that they're different versions of the same cast, afterall.
Knuckles… would remain on his floating island, defending the Master Emerald from Eggman. At least until Newtrogic High Zone appears out of the ocean suddenly, then he’ll investigate that. Knuckles’ Chaotix is most likely the game that’s closest to playing out how it’s presented, with the only difference being that there’s no Metal Sonic and Eggman had plenty of time to prepare an emerald powered army, but conversely caught off-guard by so many people able to fight him all at once.
But beyond that, there's not much involvement Knuckles would have - afterall, Eggman's main benefit is the Chaos Emeralds, but the Master Emerald is capable of neutralising the Chaos Emeralds, and it's unlikely Eggman wants to push his luck unless he finds a good enough opening.
Say...
You remember that big dragon in Sonic Superstars, right? The one that just gets freed from no discernible cause? Yeah that probably still happens, causes problems too. But like, I don’t even know what it’s doing in the main timeline, there’s no way I can predict what it’ll do in this timeline. Just going to ignore it, pretend Eggman captures it somehow (like he planned to).
Era 2: the Adventure Games
Sonic Adventure… just wouldn’t happen. There’s no reason for it when Eggman’s already taking over the world with minimal resistance. As a result, Chaos and Tikal never get freed from the Master Emerald.
Big, given that he lives in a jungle, likely wouldn’t be bothered by Eggman’s takeover until it starts tearing apart his home. Gamma, if he exists, would never find reason to question his existence (and those birds will likely stay trapped).
Sonic Shuffle… might happen? It’s hard to say, but it’s within the realm of possibility. Nothing about Amy or Knuckles are fundamentally different that would lead them to decline, Big would probably still show up (if Gamma’s presence is given an in-universe explanation then it’s likely Big’s presence is within the realm of canon too).
And since the power of dreams can bring people back within Maginaryworld, and Sonic is already a world famous celebrity, it’s entirely plausible that he’d be present to help out, though I doubt he could just go back to Earth (given Gamma never went back either). Uh… Eggman ironically wouldn’t be present, not because he wouldn’t want to get the Precioustone, but because he wouldn’t be able to follow Sonic due to his death (not that I really understand how he managed to achieve that in the first place...). Tails is the only real outlier here, and likely wouldn’t end up in Maginaryworld.
Sonic Adventure 2 doesn’t happen… except for Knuckles and Rouge clashing. Unlike before, their fight over the Master Emerald would likely happen right away, given Eggman would not happen to be in the area.
Cream and Vanilla would get kidnapped for unspecified reasons, and then after that… Heroes wouldn’t happen, as there’s no Metal Sonic.
And already things aren’t looking great, are they? Eggman’s taken over the world, Tails has become a cynical, self-centered hermit, most of the cast are either fighting against Eggman’s emerald-boosted forces or just trying to protect themselves, and the nature and beauty of the planet is slowly getting torn apart.
Yeah, well, now the Black Arms arrive. Strong enough to overpower both GUN and the Eggman Empire, in a timeline where only one of those exist now, and who have the motivation to awaken Shadow – someone who wants revenge on humanity – and is as powerful as SA2 Sonic would’ve been, without a Sonic to necessitate Eggman making bigger and stronger robots, they'll be more than a match for Eggman.
And Eggman has all 7 Chaos Emeralds gathered together. This is the fate of humanity without Sonic, kept aboard the Black Comet as food for the rest of their lives. Even if Shadow tried to stop Black Doom (due to wanting to outright destroy the planet), he’ll just end up getting mind controlled due to his genetic relation with Black Doom.
Some miscellaneous events that would not be effect by this:
Blaze’s universe would be rather peaceful, with no Eggman Nega from the future to cause problems. But also Blaze would forever be in the mindset of being cursed to be alone and needing to do things by herself.
Erazor Djinn would not be able to find the 7 World Rings without someone not native to his world to collect them (assuming his book world doesn't get destroyed upon the physical book's destruction).
Merlina’s spell to summon “a hero from another world” either wouldn’t work or would bring in… someone else. So she’d either die from King Arthur or there would be too many unknown variables to even try and predict what will happen (again assuming the world's existence isn't reliant on the physical book).
The Wisps never get captured en masse? Yay?
Time Eater chilling in the void.
Dodon Pa will have to find his racers elsewhere.
All in all, it’s quite a good thing that the future of Sonic’s world wasn’t dependent on the very first time you played a Sonic the Hedgehog game, because that first run would have almost certainly ended in an apocalypse.

I've seen stans claiming issue #67 gets to take place after Frontiers and so there was a huge time skip of months based only in the fact Sonic called Amy to lunch as they apparently spend a time without meet each other (???) (Is not it some long running gag in the games that the characters can take long weeks or months to see each other again, thus being already used to this?)
But why?? Why is it so important to set this passage of time?! Do they are really desperate in make the link between games and comics? Because that really makes the comic's narrative sound and look pretty worse:
1- It would mean then that Surge and Kit has been a far more time hidding in Eggman's abandoned base than you would expect, that makes them look even more lazy losers than they already do and clash a lot more with the image of Thirsty For Revenge the comics insist in pass, since they moved NOT a finger in almost half a year (???) (Idk the exact time they want to claim and much less I care) But it makes the arguably near 0 effort of them become a surely negative effort.
2- So then, Blaze is still in vacation in Sonic's world??? Really? She just forgot her kingdom? Are the Sol Emeralds just in Sonic's world as if there was no risk of the universe to collapse (okay, that's a more overkill than what the game really states) if the Chaos Emeralds are reunited and put close to them? Just like that? As if she wasn't all afraid of get some vacantion in the start?
3- Then Mimic has already gone in missions with the DC for real, right? He's bonding with them, right? Surprisingly, there were NO real volunteers after all this time before Surge and Kit finally met Clutch, heard his plan, came to accept his conditions and just gone to the Restoration HQ by the front door, (assuming any of these step even passed by Surge's father head) right? Or, if had, then they left... Geez, guess a bossy rude bitch with a rock hard head can't be a inspiring leader after all, what a surprise, no?
4- The only positive thing of this time skip ideia is that it explains why everyone is so chill of the drooling psychic walking around as well as make no objections to him about use his powers... And why Silver is so chill after the whole fiasco... Buuuuuut, now he's acting Just Exactly the way Lanolin accused him to act when she made the scandal to kick him out the Diamond Cutters (Not only the absence of security helmets or vests, he's playing with the food of the thousands of hungry kids he meant to help, Ian Flynn, a master of self sabotage)
Btw, sorry for this rant, feel free to just ignore if you prefer... And sorry for bringing the Lanolin discourse all over again...
Now that I think about it, it's been a year since Frontiers came out and IDW still hasn't referenced it. Even considering that it takes multiple months for issues to be finalized, I'd say enough time has passed that anything Flynn and Stanley have written since, say, December 2022 has been released. So huh, not even a small reference to that talkative moon, or anything to reflect the supposed new life goal of the gang. It's like it's not canon after all :)
Anyway. Time skips in IDW are indicated. This is how we know that the camping arc takes place months after the beginning of the MV arc because the apocalypse lasted the whole winter, and how we can say that it's complete bullshit because Sonic should have been dropped dead from exhaustion. No time indication, no significant time skip. This is a moot point for me, so I don't have much to add.

Random Sonic Headcanons Because Why Not
Lots of funny fluffy angst stuff coming your way! It's a big list so it's all under the cut. (Also Frontiers spoilers)
Amy is better at video games than Sonic. It hurts his pride every time someone brings it up. (usually Tails)
Tails' mint obsession was actually Sonic's fault. A few weeks after they first met, Sonic stole bought some mint candies for Tails since he never had candy before. The moment the mint entered his mouth, it was all over. Now every twice a week Tails is only allowed to have a small amount of mints.
Sonic plays the guitar since he was younger, but it's been a while since he played it. His favorite memory with it though was when Amy caught him playing it and wanted him to teach her how to play. So Amy plays the acoustic guitar thanks to the blue hedgehog.
Since Frontiers had a day and night cycle, I believe the real time the event of the game took for Sonic was about a week. (This hedgehog needs a nap.)
Shadow's pet Dark Chao is named Midnight. (Same name of my Dark Chao plush that I got for Christmas XD)
Sonic technically lives in Tails' Workshop. There's another room upstairs where he keeps his stuff and there's a racecar bed that Tails made for him he was a kit.
The White Boost Wisp's name is Yacker, but we never heard the Jade Ghost Wisp's name, but Sonic and Tails calls her by Jade. I believe that her name would be Spirit.
Amy summons her hammer by snapping her fingers, and it will just poof right next to her. (Sounds dumb I know but I thought that would be cool)
Cream actually wants to own her own hammer so she can be like Amy some day.
Sonic having no chest fluff doesn't bother him that much (in this house we love and support Trans Sonic) but sometimes he wondered what he would look like with some. But at the end of the day, Sonic loves himself, chest fluff or no chest fluff.
Omega goes by He/They because they said so.
Oh, and so does Shadow.
I am extremely sorry for this but the IDW comics are not in the same timeline-
BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN I WASN'T EXCITED TO HEAR SONIC MENTION TANGLE'S NAME IN FRONTIERS.
Sonic and Tangle met each other post Forces while town residences and Sonic's team helped cleaned up the town from broken Badniks.
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy were just having a stroll after the events of Team Sonic Racing to catch a break when suddenly Amy was snatched into the bushes. Sonic tells Tails and Knuckles to stand by in case Eggman is nearby and Sonic goes into the forest to find Amy. Eventually, Sonic came across a burrow and figured Amy could be in there. But when he took another step, his foot triggered a trap and a net landed right on Sonic. Amy and an orange and brown badger came outside to see Sonic struggling to break free of the net. He was relieved to see Amy was alright but asked who that badger is next to her. She introduced herself as Sticks, and she was just having a nice interview with Amy when they heard commotion outside. Turns out she's pretty big fan of Sonic, especially Amy, and she wanted to be their friend. Amy thought she's adorable, but Sonic thought she was kind of suspicious, but they're cool. That's how they met Sticks since Amy also mentioned her in Frontiers. (Which shocked me btw)
Knuckles was pretty surprised when he found out that Rouge took over watching the Master Emerald instead of stealing it during his absence. When he asked why that is, she responded saying that stealing it was way too easy and not as fun without him. Plus, she missed him, which shocks Knuckles more. (At that point, he kinda caught some feelings for her XD)
Sonic still has his Soap shoes and wears this sometimes. They remind him of Shadow because the first few times he wore them was when he first met Shadow.
I am also extremely sorry for this but I think Prime took place before Forces. I will not elaborate further you will have to figure that out yourself.
Sonic is afraid of water because of a fuzzy/early memory of seeing robots for the first time at a really young age. Him and his mother were visiting the beaches of South Island for the first time when suddenly weird looking robotic figures ambushed them. They both fell off this cliff trying to escape and the last thing Sonic could hear was a strangely familiar maniacal laugh. Sonic fell into the water along with his mom. He tried to swim back up to the surface but he was beginning to black out. Soon he woke up on the surface completely unscathed. He realized that someone was missing and looked around for his mother. Then, he looked right at the ocean he somehow came out of. If he's the only one on the surface, that meant...
Meanwhile, a sparkling red aura was above the sky watching the scene unfold. "I'm sorry. I've done all I could..." The young voice whispered before it flies away.
Sonic cries when he stubs his toe. As the fastest thing alive, that will hurt like hell.
Tails is the only person who knows about Sonic's middle name, Maurice. (Thanks Sonic Prime description)
Sonic and Tails have weekly movie nights. On occasions they have guests with them, usually Amy, or Knuckles, or maybe Shadow if he felt like it.
Sonic decided to take care of the Workshop while Tails, Knuckles and Amy are away for a few days after Frontiers.
After everything that happened in Frontiers and whatever the hell he just been through while he was corrupted, Sonic would have some intense nightmares, causing him to not get any rest. He needed some comfort deep down, but his friends are away for a while so that won't be for a while. He tried so hard not to feel selfish or want to be in the way of their adventures, but he wished that his friends will come back.
When they do come back, Sonic gave them the biggest hug he has ever gave to anyone. It may be only days, but to Sonic, it felt like forever. He's just happy to see them again, and so was Tails, Knuckles and Amy.
On occasions when Sonic gets a cold, he has interesting dreams that were related to fairytale stories. He thought those were some wicked dreams and he thought Shadow as Lancelot was the best part.
Sonic loves to sing, but only when he's either by himself or with Tails and Knuckles, since they're the only people who knew about his singing voice.
Sometimes Amy tricks Sonic into going for a swim, just so she can teach him how to. It usually ends with Sonic running away.
Sonic is bi because come on, how is it not so obvious to you?
Rouge and Omega share the same apartment. How the building allows a giant robot in the apartment is beyond your imagination.
And that's all I got right now. Hopefully more ideas will pop up eventually since I can only think of so many headcanons, but there will be more soon.

CAN YOU FUCK CHAOS?
Tumblr media
... Y'know, the Sonic character. Not the abstract concept. You can't fuck concepts, last I checked. Might be wrong, though.
WARNING: SONIC FRONTIERS SPOILERS. Yes, the game's been out for a bit, but some people haven't played it yet, so be warned- it'll be cited often in this post, as it had some enormous lore drops related to Chaos, the Chao, and the Chaos Emeralds.
Strap in, this is a long one. At least, a bit longer than the usual post.
I would start with age, but that's kind of stupid. We know how long Chaos has been around, we know it's immortal, and we know it's pretty much a deity. Hell, Sonic Channel didn't even try listing an age, it was just listed as ''Unknown" while it was listed. Chronologically speaking, it's been around for over 3000 years. It's also not really been dormant dormant by any means, sure it's spent most of its life sealed inside the Master Emerald, but still seems to be able to come out of the emerald when needed or desired- such as during the events of Sonic Battle, where it came out of the emerald seemingly with the sole purpose of meeting Emerl and requesting a battle with him (At least, it can be interpreted as such, since you get the option to battle or not battle Chaos when you encounter it ingame).
On top of that, it's been implied that it protects the Chao from within the emerald one way or another, so it's about as old as the chronology would imply- although it likely can't physically age, considering the way the Chao life cycle works. If it did age, it would either be a really, really slow aging process, or it would have reincarnated by now, as Chao do once they're old enough. It isn't stated whether it was an adult or a child when it "mutated", but it's never been implied that it was a child, and considering the role of protector it assumes over the Chao of Angel Island, it's likely not a child.
You might say, though- it's still a mutated Chao! Chao are either weird sorta perma-babies, animals, or both, and they probably shouldn't be fucked. And I would maybe agree with you, before Sonic Frontiers came out, buuuut...
Tumblr media
Yeah, these guys.
The Chao, as implied by Eggman in Egg Memo 11, are the remnants of the Ancients, after some kind of radiation corroded their DNA for countless years to the point where they turned into what we now know them as. Chaos' mutation seems to be less so a Chao becoming bigger and more powerful, and moreso the remaining DNA of the Ancients being brought back to the forefront and slightly regaining its form, seemingly more in the image of the anthropomorphic animals that now inhabit the world. Even the visible brain was there from the start- although it's hard to see on the adults, likely due to the amount of blur and sepia tone used for the flashbacks of the Ancients. The children have them pretty visible, though! Likely due to background color, amount of blur, etc.
Tumblr media
This may seem like a red flag when it comes to Chaos, since the brain is always plainly easily visible, but it's clearly not an intended key feature or anything of the sort, and most likely just a result of the game's artstyle, as the concept art doesn't have the brain visible on any of the different Ancient types.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, Chaos doesn't really seem to match any of these one to one- the visual similarity is obvious, and they're confirmed to be related genetically speaking, but Chaos has no pointed shapes on its hips to differentiate gender, and additionally has 2 small tendrils on the sides of its head that resemble the ones on the elders, but are far shorter than what is shown ingame and in the image; and on top of that, it has a short tail, for whatever reason.
Gender-related side tangent aside (it probably has no gender anyways, and it's all the better for it), clearly Chaos shows all the physical maturity needed, but...
Can it consent? Should you fuck Chaos? Is it ethical?
We're not exactly able to resort to our usual methods here, so let's pull out an ancient internet artifact- one that has been referenced and cited plenty of times, and is generally considered to be a good guide as to whether or not you should fuck a fictional being.
Ladies, gentlemen, those in between, and all those not entirely convinced of the societal construct that is the gender binary, I present to you;
The Harkness Test.
Tumblr media
Now, aside from the fact that this image is visibly and verifiably old enough that smelling it would probably direct about 500 grams of dust straight into your lungs, it's generally a good guideline without any real holes in it. So, let's go by the boxes one by one- in reverse order, that is. Because it works better for the format.
Is it of sexual maturity for its species?
Although it likely can't reproduce- yes. I mean, this should be obvious by now; there is absolutely no implication that it was a child at the time of its mutation, and it very clearly resembles adult Ancients, as opposed to the children, which lack the long tendrils on both the adult Ancients and Chaos's heads. So, by all accounts, despite its ageless status, it's clearly of sexual maturity for both of the species that could be referenced for it.
Check.
Can it talk or otherwise communicate with language?
Chaos can't talk. Obviously. The Ancients somehow could, despite not having a mouth or lungs or vocal chords or anything of the sort, much like Chaos itself. BUUUUUUT-
Tumblr media
This moment from Knuckles' story in Sonic Adventure implies that Tikal is able to communicate directly with Chaos, meaning that on some level, it can communicate and understand language- further reinforced by a later cutscene in the final story, where Tikal talks to Chaos to calm its anger, explaining that the fighting that angered Chaos in the first place is long over, and that the Chao it protected are alive and well, living in peace alongside people.
So, clearly, it can understand words, and it can communicate with some people, so best case scenario you can find a way to directly communicate with Chaos verbally, and worst case scenario you can get Tikal (or uh. her ghost?) to translate for you, although that might be a bit awkward considering it's unlikely that Tikal was an adult when she died, but it's really your only option. She probably knows what sex is anyways, she can be a mediator, doesn't need to get involved past that. Yes this is a very silly hypothetical scenario, but hey, it's there and it could help you out if you wanna fuck this thing.
Check.
Does it have human intelligence (or greater)?
This one is... Complicated. Again, Chaos can't speak directly, and the aforementioned line is all we have to go off of- and it's unclear whether what Tikal said is Chaos's exact wording, or what she gleamed from communicating with it somehow. On top of that, Chaos is strung along quite easily by Eggman; though Eggman loses control of Chaos entirely once it acquires the 7 chaos emeralds, so this could be interpreted as Chaos going along with the plan with full intent to stab Eggman in the back once it has all the power it needs to let out the anger that it's been building for so many years.
So, SA1 doesn't give us too much on this end. In Sonic Battle, though, it's shown fighting with a decent degree of technique, using its stretching properties for some tricky maneuvers, as well as poking its limbs out of the ground. It's definitely a capable fighter, and while it's not a martial artist by any means, there is a degree of technique to what it does, which would make sense considering the Ancients had dedicated warriors which likely had fighting prowess outside of just using mechs.
That's really all we have on that end as far as games go, since the Chaos in Sonic Forces isn't exactly real, and brain size isn't that good of a frame of reference either since the brains of the adult ancients are quite hard to see and blurry- although the size does mostly seem to match up, adjusting for how small the Ancients' heads look compared to Chaos's.
Our only guide from this point on is Sonic Channel artwork, which is non-canon but should still provide a decent enough guideline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of these is obviously much more serious than the other- although they both look really nice. The way Chaos is shown kneeling on the left image implies a capability for body language similar to that of people, although the purpose of the pose is quite ambiguous- it could either be accompanying Tikal in whatever ritual is being performed, or be trying to mimic her position, similar to that of a prayer, in a sort of "Monkey see, monkey do" manner.
The right one is obviously completely impossible (I don't think the ancient echidnas knew how to make pizza, let alone make entire diners- although their food probably slapped. Probably.) and is mostly just there to look cute, but it still does show Chaos doing something that requires a large amount of technique. It's cooking! And it seems very good at it, judging by the pizza Tikal is holding. I'd try one, it looks really good! ... Shit, now I'm hungry. Anyways.
These images, although non-canon, do depict Chaos with a level of intelligence similar to that of humans, one more than the other- although it has full freedom to, considering it's the sillier and clearly more for-fun of the two, no matter how hard it's rocking that little chef's outfit. It seems more or less in line with its behavior in the flashbacks and Sonic Battle, with a few creative liberties.
So while it can't talk, it seems to be about even with humans. Think something like Gardevoir and Gallade from Pokemon.
Check.
So, to recap; Is it of sexual maturity for its species? ✅ Can it talk or otherwise communicate with language? ✅ (Though you may need some assistance, ideally from Tikal.) Does it have human intelligence (or greater)? ✅
Chaos passes the Harkness Test.
So, with all this taken into account, we can come to a verdict. I would normally write a conclusion, but this post is long enough as is. And so, the verdict is...
You can, with some effort and maybe a bit of help, fuck Chaos.
Tumblr media
I know a lot of you are gonna be very, very happy about this one. Go ham.

Knuckles just ask
Sonic the hedgehog Fanfic
Rated: T
Pairing: Sonic The Hedgehog/Knuckle the Echinda
Summary: Knuckles finally asked Sonic out

Caught in a mix of feelings, Knuckles, the guardian of the Chaos Emeralds, found himself reflecting on recent changes in his life. His usual sense of duty was transforming into a newfound warmth from connections and a sense of belonging to a tribe that felt like family. Amidst these changes, Sonic emerged as a standout figure – a shining star in Knuckles' world.
As Knuckles thought about their adventures and shared victories, he realized that Sonic had become more than just an ally. Their bond went beyond their roles as guardian and adventurer, evolving into a deep friendship. Memories of their battles against Dr. Robotnik and other challenges played like a highlight reel in Knuckles' mind. Sonic's carefree spirit had a way of breaking through Knuckles' tough exterior, offering him a different perspective on duty. Together, they faced adversaries that tested not only their strength but also their trust in each other. The connection they shared wasn't just about protecting the Chaos Emeralds; it symbolized the strength found in unity.
As Knuckles navigated his emotions, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for Sonic's role in his life. Sonic had transformed the once chaotic landscape of Knuckles' existence into a canvas painted with moments of laughter, daring escapades, and authentic friendship. Duty, once a solitary path, had now evolved into a collective effort, made lighter by the companionship of those, particularly Sonic, who stood by his side. In acknowledging Sonic's influence, Knuckles came to a realization – his strength stemmed not only from the power of the Chaos Emeralds but also from the connections he had forged with others. Continuing in his duty as the guardian, Knuckles embraced the notion that duty and joy could coexist, intertwined with the bonds of friendship. The whirlwind of emotions he felt settled into a calm assurance that, with friends beside him, he could confront any challenges the future held. Together, they would overcome the chaos the world threw at them.
However, Knuckles found himself entangled in a different kind of complexity. Sonic's impact on him had transcended the realm of friendship. The once stoic guardian now felt his heart quicken at the thought of Sonic's light green eyes and infectious smile. What began as admiration for Sonic's carefree spirit had evolved into a profound connection that left Knuckles utterly captivated. Sonic wasn't just a friend; he had become the focal point of Knuckles' newfound happiness. Yet, as love blossomed within Knuckles, so did the weight of a secret he carried. Despite the joy they shared, an undisclosed truth lingered – Sonic's curse. This hidden knowledge added a layer of urgency to Knuckles' feelings, casting a shadow on the burgeoning romance. The ache of this unspoken truth became a poignant undercurrent amid Knuckles' emotions, a testament to the complexity of the bonds they shared.
With the decision to ask Sonic out hanging in the air, Knuckles found himself weighed down by the significance of his emotions. What once started as admiration had blossomed into a profound and undeniable love. As he stood on the precipice of taking that leap, the impact Sonic had on his life echoed within Knuckles, creating a symphony of emotions that fueled his courage to bear his feelings. As he remained immersed in the watchful duty over the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic, with his characteristic exuberance, approached.
"Hey, Knux! What's happening?"
Sonic's lively greeting cut through the serene atmosphere. Knuckles responded with a warm smile, and Sonic, in his typical fashion, wasted no time in suggesting a hangout.
"I was thinking we could catch up, you know? It's been too long since we just chilled,"
Sonic proposed, his eyes sparkling with the promise of excitement. Caught off guard by the unexpected invitation, Knuckles found himself captivated by the enthusiasm in Sonic's gaze.
"Sure, why not?"
As the words left Knuckles' lips, he couldn't help but marvel at the serendipity of the moment. It felt like the universe was conspiring to bring them together. As they embarked on this casual hangout, Knuckles couldn't shake the anticipation bubbling within him. The decision to express his feelings lingered in the background, creating an undercurrent of tension beneath the surface of their seemingly ordinary rendezvous.
As Sonic and Knuckles found a comfortable spot to sit, Sonic took the lead in the conversation, sharing exciting stories of his recent adventures. He animatedly described loop-de-loops, daring chases, and encounters with robotic adversaries, painting a vivid picture of his dynamic life. Knuckles, genuinely intrigued, listened intently, getting caught up in the energy of Sonic's tales. Continuing with his exploits, Sonic delved into more personal thoughts.
"You know, Knux, I've been doing some thinking lately. Life's full of twists and turns, right? But that's what makes it exciting. It's like every loop-de-loop brings something new,"
Sonic mused, maintaining his trademark grin. Knuckles, a bit surprised by the shift in the conversation, nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, life's unpredictable."
Sonic continued, sharing reflections on appreciating the positive aspects of life amid all the chaos. "Sometimes I wonder if we focus too much on the chaos around us and forget to appreciate the good stuff, you know? The friendships, the moments that make us smile. It's easy to get caught up in the rush and miss what really matters."
As Sonic shared these thoughts, he noticed a subtle change in Knuckles' expression. The usually stoic guardian seemed to be processing Sonic's words on a deeper level.
"You've been acting kinda off lately, Knux. Everything cool?"
Sonic's genuine concern was reflected in his furrowed brow as he inquired about Knuckles' well-being. Caught off guard, Knuckles stumbled through a few vague excuses, attempting to divert Sonic's attention from the underlying unease. However, the weight of the unspoken truth lingered. Knuckles felt an increasing need to be honest with Sonic. With each passing moment, the burden of secrecy became more pronounced. Eventually, taking a deep breath, Knuckles confessed,
"There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about, Sonic."
The anticipation hung in the air as Knuckles summoned the courage to share what had been on his mind.
"I need to ask you something important."

Knuckles hesitated, struggling to find the right words. He started, stopped, and then began again, his usually confident demeanor faltering. Sonic, sensing Knuckles' struggle, remained patient, a supportive expression on his face.
"I, uh, it's just that, you see..."
Knuckles stammered, his words getting tangled in his attempt to express his feelings. Sonic, ever the understanding friend, refrained from interrupting, offering a reassuring smile and an encouraging nod. Finally, Knuckles blurted out,
"Okay, let me just say it. I've been feeling... weird lately, and I think it has something to do with you, Sonic."
A moment of silence hung in the air before Sonic broke into a grin, teasingly saying,
"Weird, huh? Never thought I'd see the day when Knuckles gets all tangled up in emotions. Go on, spill it, buddy."
"So… what were you about to say?"
The confident facade that typically adorned Knuckles' demeanor faltered, presenting an unusual vulnerability. Sonic found the stumble in Knuckles' words endearing, a departure from the usual self-assured stance he exuded. As Knuckles struggled to find his footing, a blush crept onto his face, adding an adorable layer to his usually stoic appearance. Sensing the nervous energy, Sonic couldn't help but appreciate this unexpected display of vulnerability from the typically composed echidna.
"I-I - well,"
Knuckles began, attempting to gather his thoughts. His purple eyes briefly flickered away before settling back on Sonic. With a small huff, Knuckles closed his eyes, summoning the courage to express his feelings. Throwing caution to the wind, he blurted out,
"W-will you like to go on a date with me?"
The shy inquiry revealed a charming vulnerability that Sonic found irresistibly cute, melting the cool exterior of the echidna. Sonic, responding with his typical nonchalant charm, flashed a grin and casually quipped,
"Sure, why not?"
The words hung in the air, a pleasant surprise for Knuckles, who couldn't help but break into a relieved smile. Sonic's teasing and casual acceptance transformed the tension into a lighthearted moment, making Knuckles feel at ease with his bold confession.

How do I get into sonic ? I liked it a lot as a kid but have no clue where to start lore wise. I also don’t have the money or time to play through all the games, so how would you recommend getting into it ?
Tumblr media
SO! I have a feeling I know who this may be since I had a friend that asked me this before. But I will still help anon! It's a variety of ways to get into it: playing the original S.onic the Hedgehog game and going up, watching S.onic X or the other cartoons, watching gameplays and/or cutscenes on YouTube for the games.
Getting into the lore...the S.onic lore is kinda all over the place tbh ^^; BUT, the best way to start in my opinion is with S.onic Adventure 1 (Also known as S.onic Adventure DX) if you plan to play that. It basically begins with some main story and lore of the Sonic universe and it's pretty fun! You can either watch it or play it. Or STH2 and S.onic & Knuckles 3 are good in starting the classics to get some basics of story but there isn't a lot into it, they're introductions to Tails and Knuckles pretty much but there’s no dialogue so isn’t really entertaining to just watch.
In fact, most S.onic games do go on sale for a variety of platforms so I recommend checking what games are available for your favorite console or PC. Steam always has sales going on so most often it would be the classics, either Adventure games or the latest (Mania, Origins, Generations, Colors, Team S.onic Racing, Forces). Unfortunately some games are also pretty exclusive to the consoles they came out years ago (for example Heroes and Shadow the hedgehog are only on PS2/Xbox/Gamecube and S.onic and the Secret Rings/Black Knight is only for Wii).  But, even using an emulator can work too if you have a PC capable for running it and know how to work that out to download them for free in some sites.
But when you don't have the time or money to play the games, it's the beauty of cutscene complications on Youtube! There's already a lot out there to just sit back, relax and watch the game movie play! You can type whatever you like to watch and the scenes of the game or gameplay itself along with the plot are in it. So, I want to say watch SA1 first and see how you like it, then move onto SA2 and beyond. It's just that the modern Sonic games have more story and dialogue than what the classics have when there is none at all, they are very short and no dialogue but clear what was happening. Like Knuckles attacking Sonic and taking the Chaos Emeralds before running away or Amy following Sonic and crushing on him around before Metal Sonic kidnaps her in Sonic CD.
Now, for the cartoons. Sonic X is an anime that gives a twist to him and his friends being teleported to Earth while also having references from games like SA1 and SA2 in there, so you would appreciate it more if you played/watched those games. But I can't say it's directly to the main lore. Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog is really a silly cartoon to watch casually. Sonic SatAM is a blend of serious/adventure/silly so following him defeating Robotnik and others are more from the COMIC lore. Sonic Underground is also a completely different story/universe that follows him and his brother (Manic) and sister (Sonia) defeating Robotnik’s plans and finding their queen mother.
As for the comics if you may be thinking about trying, I DON'T recommend starting on that unless you really like or are getting deep into Sonic. That's a whole can of worms on its own but the new IDW Sonic is the way to go if you wanna read that. The old Archie Sonic is...quite a unique mess--but an interesting mess. If you’re THAT curious, watch THIS and determine how you feel lol.
Overall, it’s up to you however you’d like to dive into the Sonic media, but I would recommend just watching the cutscenes/game movie of some of the games that peak your interest first like Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, etc BEFORE you decide if you'd like to purchase any of the games and determine if it's worth it to you. I also want you to look up the main games timeline of the games so you don't mix up when they have been released just in case to avoid confusion if they reference something you may not know. Here’s a simplified video about it.
What actually started for me getting into Sonic was just watching an episode of Sonic X out of boredom when I wake up on Saturday mornings to watch 4kids for like Winx Club, Bratz, or Magical Doremi. And I. Got. HOOKED. I was determined to wake up and watch a new episode be it in order or not. And after that, I got into looking at the games for PS2 since it was my only and first console to own. I got Sonic Mega Collection Plus but REALLY wanted Sonic Heroes and things went up from there.
Hope this all helps, anon! 💙

Ignoring Jehtt's parody for a sec
-It was 200 years of Iblis. I legit don't think there's a profit to scamming people into thinking they can save the future. 2-3 gens directly tied to the Great Disaster already are dead, and GUN seems gone too
-We already beat Iblis only to see him reincarnate again. We can already infer Silver beat him many times with no difference. In fact, he legit considers giving up in frustration
Tumblr media
-Mephiles wouldn't even be the first suspect. Blaze's fire powers scared survivors, but Silver stood by her (sadly this is in bios)
-The intro CG cutscene notes the generational divorce from the event. No one knew where Iblis came from cuz it's been so long, only that it ravaged the planet for eons. Silver is noted to question the origin, getting nothing
So yeah, I'll take hearing this shifty stranger's new theory, cuz repeatedly killing Iblis 3 million times is doing nothing but exhaust me, regardless if I die to this stranger or not. It's not like I can make this worse (in my context)
Other things;
-Silver's reaction to Meph saying to time travel:
Tumblr media
Not "oh yeah I immediately believe you" like 90% of parodies, it's him gauging interest after dismissing the first prompt
Even to Meph saying "Oh yeah, I can time travel" it's more dismissal (though tinged with amazement)
Tumblr media
when Meph notes the Iblis Trigger the first time, both Blaze and him just ponder a sec before hesitating to ask if killing him would save the world, their first true mistake. But again, better than just mindlessly killing Iblis over and over
Then Meph bothers bringing articles on screen showing the Egg Carrier's crash and release of Iblis, then the Emerald showing Sonic's visage in the fire (glares slightly more angry), Blaze being perturbed cuz she knows of one, and Meph immediately time traveling them before much of anything can be said in protest
If it were me, I'd have them question how he found this info, with him revealing that he stumbled upon a Chaos Emerald that showed him the image of a blue hedgehog (which he'll show to Silver like OG, only with Sonic expressing better than wood), leading him to do research on him, and finding the article of Elise dying in a crash despite his chase. He'll then note research of time travel done in GUN logs of when they checked Eggman's base after the crash, noting the process being risky. Silver and Blaze can ask why he can't do it, which...I mean look at him, he's deformed and barely hobbling (interestingly nowhere as much as the Shadow release scene, or later twirl), likely frail as heck (we know he isn't if we the audience played Shadow's story first). He'll attract unwanted attention outside supposed fraility, vs how the powerful Blaze/Silver look a smidge more stable. They'll admit having nothing to lose/repetition, then Meph warps them
But otherwise, I feel the Silver bias is glossing events a wee bit too much, and parodies aren't helping. It's legit wanting to break useless repetition that drives most of Silver's hasty actions
"But he looks evil"
The entire world is homeless. Being remotely not brazen is an anomaly if anything (Blaze at least has an excuse)
Also what's he gonna do, jump the guy that has psychokinesis? He looks weak as hell
I still think that Silver shouldn't have jumped to follow Mephiles so easily when the latter spouted out shit about 'Chickens and eggs', especially since it seems he and Blaze just willingly follow Mephilies into his crack den of info he shouldn't have. I'm sorry, but I feel Silver just hopped on a little too quickly. If there was a scene of him and Blaze arguing with each other about going to follow, I'd buy it a lot more than it is now. However, since the cutscenes skip that moment and have Silver and Blaze immediately follow Mephiles to his crack den without thinking, it still comes across to me as Silver and Blaze being stupid, not naive.
I appreciate you trying to help clear out some aspects of this, but without the key moment of Silver and Blaze arguing about going to listen to Mephiles or not, it comes across as an idiot kid being taken by a guy with a white van to me, especially since the only time Silver stops to consider his decision is when Amy tells him to not kill Sonic and dashes off. After that, he doesn't ever really question if he's doing the right thing, and just blindly trusts the guy that showed him a vision of Sonic in fire with a really pissed off look, and not much other information besides anecdotal evidence.

Sonic Frontiers (2022) review
I really, really didn't want to get my hopes up for this one. Arguably, Sonic hasn't had a good game since 2011's Sonic Generations. On top of that, releases for this series used to be practically yearly but they slowly dried up and there hasn't been a proper Sonic game since 2017's Sonic Forces (and that was a nightmare). So you can imagine the anticipation for Sonic Frontiers was excruciating.
As a life-long Sonic fan, I had to get this game on day one, but I waited to share my thoughts until I could digest my experience and come back to it for a second look, confirming the thoughts that stuck with me. I wanted to be fair as well as thorough, so this is a longer post from me than usual.
Tumblr media
Story
The story of Sonic Frontiers is simple and that's not a bad thing. Sonic, Tails and Amy investigate a location called the Starfall Islands because the Chaos Emeralds were mysteriously drawn there. When they arrive, they're pulled into an artificial reality called Cyberspace and only Sonic is able to escape (because of his speed, I think).
Sonic has to find a way to rescue his friends, presumably by running through more Cyberspace areas and taking the digital corruption into his own body to free them. Along the way, he discovers that Knuckles came here and got trapped on his own, and so did Dr. Eggman!
He's confronted by Sage, an A.I. created by Eggman, who tells Sonic his efforts are wasted. Not only does she try to stop Sonic, but so does the ancient technology left on the Starfall Islands by an alien race called... well, the Ancients.
The premise is pretty thin, but it's also all it needed to be for an open-world concept like this. Just an excuse to go from point A to B and play more levels and collect more tokens.
Tumblr media
This game's saving grace in the story department is that it was penned by Ian Flynn, head writer of Sonic comics from Archie's Sonic #160 to the end of that series, and then the first 30 issues of the IDW Publishing run. The man knows these characters better than anyone else on Earth. In fact, when they announced Flynn was writing it, Sonic Frontiers became a guaranteed purchase for me.
The downside is it seems Flynn was only given leave to write the dialogue. The overall premise and structure, what characters would appear, etc. was already dictated by SEGA. Given that that's all he had control over, Flynn does an exceptional job to make it work. Sonic and co. have never been so well characterized.
Flynn manages to pull connections to Sonic Forces and earlier games to sneak in small character arcs for our main cast. He directly tackles the fan backlash to Tails' nervous breakdown in Forces and makes it into a moment of self-doubt for Tails, who now feels unreliable. Sonic reminds Tails, and us, that he's been a hero to rely on before– like when he saved Station Square from a missile strike in Sonic Adventure. By the end of the game, Tails resolves to go on an adventure on his own and re-establish himself as an independent hero.
Tumblr media
Knuckles' time as Commander of the Resistance is referenced in his actions leading a battalion of Kuco and in the fact that his character tokens are shaped like military medals. This is more subtle, but it works for me.
On top of it, he reflects on being the last echidna and how his determination to work alone leads him to struggles he can't handle on his own. Just through dialogue, Frontiers reinforces Knuckles' hard-headedness as well as his strength of friendship with Sonic, who would do anything to help him even though they're still considered rivals.
youtube
Granted, most of this characterization is actually in a short animation released as a "prologue" to the game, explaining how Knuckles got to the Starfall Islands on his own, but I'm choosing to include it in the game's review.
Probably most impressive is that Flynn was able to connect this arc for Knuckles to how he appeared in the Free Comic Book Day issue of the IDW Sonic comic, in which Knuckles resolved to explore Angel Island and find more of its secrets. Are we finally in an era where Sonic trans media properties will connect and carry story arcs between them? (I mean, probably not but a girl can dream).
Tumblr media
Amy on the other hand gets both the most and least rehabilitation. Flynn has been working for years now to re-establish Amy as something other than "girl who is obsessed with Sonic." In the IDW comics, she's taken on a role more similar to Sally Acorn in the Archie Sonic comics: leader of the Resistance who makes the plans and executes them. Frontiers doesn't reference Amy's time as commander of the Resistance or her establishment of the Restoration after the Resistance is disbanded, instead focusing on her romantic nature. Rather than being obsessed with Sonic, she's clearly obsessed with the idea of romance. This is a small upgrade but it's something. I still think it reduces Amy to "my personality is girl" as Game Grump, Dan Avidan pointed out years ago.
New character Sage is an interesting case. She endears herself to the player pretty easily but I'm not sold on her role as Eggman's "daughter" through the little story we got between them. I find it funny that Evan Stanley (current writer of the IDW comics) also developed a surrogate daughter character for Eggman at the same time, apparently by complete accident. However it's hard for me to ignore that Belle is a much more interesting take on this idea than Sage is. I will grant that Sage's character design is cooler, though.
Tumblr media
Sonic makes off-handed mention of other games' stories, including Station Square as mentioned earlier, Lost Hex, and a handful of other situations. He also makes a passing reference to Tangle from the IDW comics. This only highlights more that other elements of that story– which are presumably the events directly before this game and between Sonic Frontiers and Forces– aren't mentioned. No mention of the Restoration, Jewel, Whisper, the Metal Virus or any other comic elements. I wonder why Flynn was allowed to reference Tangle at all if the comic storylines weren't being canonized. Or for that matter one other non-canon character I won't spoil here.
Sonic Frontiers actually makes attempts at world-building, which hasn't really been done since Sonic Unleashed, 14 years ago. I won't spoil any of the specifics but the origins of the Chaos Emeralds, Chao and Chaos are all addressed in the course of Frontiers' story.
Something I didn't notice until really late in the game is that the main objective will take you to most of the story scenes with Amy, Tails, Knuckles and Sage, but there are additional scenes that can be found in the zones which are presumably optional, but some of the events of these optional scenes are referenced in the required scenes, so if you do them out of order it doesn't connect properly.
Gameplay
OK, that's great Alice, how's the game actually play? Overall: not too shabby.
Sonic Frontiers is broken up into two different gameplay styles: the open zone hub world areas (akin to Sonic Adventure's "adventure fields only much larger) and the linear cyberspace stages (similar to the levels of Sonic Forces, Colors, etc.).
Tumblr media
Open Zones
The open zones are broken up into five different islands, which consist of 3 different biome themes: three forested/grassland islands (Kronos, Rhea and Ouranos Islands), a desert island (Ares Island), and a volcanic island (Chaos Island). Each open zone contains platforming challenges, puzzles, and portal gates that lead to the cyberspace stages, as well as vaults that hold the Chaos Emeralds.
The player has to collect a variety of tokens and keys: character tokens, which unlock stories for each of the side characters; and portal keys, which unlock the cyberspace levels. Through combat and other challenges, the player collects vault keys, which unlock the Chaos Emeralds.
It can be a little intimidating to see so many different collectibles, but rest assured everything you do in the game gives you some kind of key or token and, as long as you're running around doing something, you will get enough of each to complete the storyline objectives. I never had to grind for any of these collectibles to progress the story.
Surprisingly enough, the open zones do not use any kind of tower to unlock map progress. The map in Sonic Frontiers unlocks by completing the combat challenges and puzzles so, as long as you're running around and doing something, the map will fill in on its own. Some of the earliest gameplay footage released showed Sonic climbing a large tower, which was assumed to be a tower just like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, etc., which would need to be scaled in order to unlock portions of the map and other activities. Ironically, the one shown in that trailer is the only such tower on the island and it doesn't unlock anything. You can just climb it for fun.
Tumblr media
Running around the open zones generally feels good.
Although, because the terrain is so varied, there are some handling issues. Sonic seems to be magnetically attached to the ground, so when terrain becomes uneven, he will "glitch" at odd angles to adhere to the ground. At speed, this can also cause the camera to twitch back and forth, or at worst cause Sonic to spontaneously launch into the air. This is kind of annoying, except boosting and launching yourself in this way can actually allow you to fly over large chunks of the environment and even cheat your way into areas that would take a lot of effort to run to as intended. I'd categorize this as "good for speed runners" but also "sloppy presentation" for the rest of us.
Also a weird addition to the game is the drop dash from Sonic Mania. Sonic doesn't have access to a regular spin dash in this game, however, so being able to initiate a spin dash in mid-air is a bit confusing.
The biggest issue I have with the open zones and honestly the game as a whole is that the Sonic level design elements are very poorly integrated into the environment, by which I mean they aren't integrated at all.
The zones themselves have a more photorealistic art style, but there's random grind rails, springs, and rings just floating in the environment looking the same way they have in Sonic games for the past 15 years. The rails aren't even attached to anything, they're just floating in the air. They could have at least put on some kind of "anti-gravity technology" on the bottom of the rails to explain why they're just hanging out there. But even better would be to attach them to the actual environments like they originally were (most of the time) in Sonic Adventure 2, the game that debuted rail grinding.
Overall, the open zones look a bit like someone dumped a bunch of Sonic game assets into Unreal Engine, which is not a good look for a game that retails at $60. Especially for as much as it reminds me of a fan game like "Sonic Omens."
Tumblr media
Cyberspace
Cyberspace stages are more similar to Sonic Unleashed's "daytime stages" or what fans have taken to calling "the boost formula": a linear level in which you can boost (hold a button down to go fast) through most of the level.
Cyberspace in Sonic Frontiers alters the behavior of boosting in some key ways. For one thing, it's now on a stamina wheel a la The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (and that is the only comparison I will be making to that game) instead of limiting it to how many rings you pick up or random power-up capsules like in previous games.
The most noticeable change, however, is that Sonic is no longer shrouded in a blue aura while boosting; instead, a subtle "sonic boom" effect appears in the air when boosting starts. This removes some of the visual clutter from the gameplay but it unfortunately removes a visual cue that you're still doing it. Sometimes jumping or other actions cancel the boost out, even if you're still holding down the trigger. I lost count of how many times I thought I was boosting only to realize I was running at normal speed.
Boosting in mid-air causes Sonic to arc upward slightly, allowing you to bridge some gaps in mid-air. This used to be accomplished by using the Homing Attack in mid-air, which is more or less useless now. Even if you hold the trigger down to boost in mid-air, it won't allow you to continuously boost. Instead, the mid-air boost is more or less a short mid-air dash. And you can't continue to boost when you hit the ground from a mid-air boost, so you have to consciously release the trigger and then hold it down again to continue boosting.
Tumblr media
A weird decision that caused me endless frustration was to actually alter the jump physics between open zone and cyberspace. There's just as much platforming in each environment– and the same type of platforming at that– but Sonic's handling during a jump is completely different between the two, which caused me to die hundreds of times just from misjudging my ability to move in the air.
A nice quality of life improvement I didn't know I needed is that Frontiers allows you to initiate a homing attack from the ground instead of jumping in the air and then homing in. This is accomplished by moving the homing attack to the X button (on Xbox) like it was in Sonic Unleashed, rather than pressing A twice as it was in every other Sonic game ever. On a practical level this was probably done to separate homing attack from the double jump, which returns from Sonic Forces.
Cyberspace suffers from not having enough level themes, just as the open zones suffer from reusing the theming of Kronos Island. There's dozens of levels, but there are only four level themes: Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary and a new Eternal Highway design.
Eternal Highway at first glance is too similar to Speed Highway, in my opinion. It really stands out when one of the levels actually rips the level layout of Speed Highway Act 2 straight from Sonic Generations.
Tumblr media
On that note, some of the levels are original layouts, but most are inspired or directly ripped from past games, albeit with a different level theme. Rooftop Run from Sonic Unleashed is ripped whole cloth but re-skinned to look like Sky Sanctuary. Sky Rail, Metal Harbor and Green Forest from Sonic Adventure 2 are ripped and re-skinned in the Green Hill Zone style. Chemical Plant Act 2 from Sonic Generations appears in zone 1-5, using the Chemical Plant theming so it's perfectly obvious, just as Green Hill Zone Act 2 from Generations is recreated in 1-4 with the same theme.
At first it's kind of charming, but on another level it feels lazy. This really makes it obvious that Sonic Team were rushed to deadline and simply didn't have the time to make new levels, relying on the big hits from their past instead. I'm not mad at it, I love Metal Harbor and Sky Rail and it's actually nice to play them with all the modern advancements in graphics, but it also makes me want to close the game out and boot up Sonic Adventure 2, which is also installed on my Xbox so it's 3 clicks away. I assume that's not what they want me to do.
Tumblr media
Combat
I never thought I'd be talking about combat in a Sonic game. For the uninitiated, "combat" in Sonic's history has consisted of "jumping on an enemy" like Mario or "homing in on an enemy in mid-air" like a missile. With some notable exceptions like Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) or Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (2014), Sonic doesn't really do combat.
I think it was a wise decision to keep the combat very simple. There is a skill tree, which unlocks with skill points gained from just passively playing the game and fighting, but it remains a button-masher no matter how much you upgrade. There's even a skill unlock which allows you to auto-combo by mashing the same button so you don't even need to memorize the two-button combinations.
This game also adds in a parry mechanic but it's far from being skill-based. The game doesn't tell you this, but you can just hold the parry position indefinitely and whenever something hits you, it will trigger the parry. You don't need to be timing it out at all.
There are some other RPG elements like upgrading your stats: speed, ring capacity, defense and strength; but you absolutely don't need to. The difficulty curve never necessitates any stat upgrades, and thank God for that because upgrading is a chore. You have to seek out specific NPCs to upgrade each stat one level at a time. To go from level 1 to 99 will take you over an hour (and I'm not exaggerating, someone timed it). This is the very first thing that needs to get patched out.

Ok, here's the real star of the show: the titan boss fights.
Each island is defended by a titan: a giant robot a la Evangelion which can only be defeated by transforming into Super Sonic. This information is best communicated when Sonic first tries to face the titan Giganto, which promptly picks Sonic up in his giant hand and throws him through several ruins and into a mountain, leaving an impact crater like it's Dragon Ball Z.
When you collect six Chaos Emeralds on each island, the titan fight will become available. You scale the surface of the titan and claim the seventh Chaos Emerald, which is being held in a vault on the titan's head. Sonic transforms into Super Sonic and the music queues up.
Tumblr media
Now the music of Sonic Frontiers, overall, is fine. Actually a lot of the cyberspace levels have great beats with this very funky electronic thing going on, but the titan fights crank that up to 11. The vocal sting of Giganto's theme, "Undefeatable," is a show-stopper.
This, combined with the visual scale of the titans, the fact that the entire island is your arena for this battle, and the visual spectacle of Super Sonic in this game, spells out the most hyped up boss fights of Sonic's 30 year career.
Super Sonic smolders with golden light and when you attack using the same moves you unlocked in the open zones, there are now golden light after-images of Super Sonic, his fists, and his feet/shoes. Think Bayonetta's combos with her partner demon's giant fists flying in for a hit.
You're immune to all damage while in the super state, however you can be knocked back which eats up your time. You gradually deplete your rings (about 1 per second) while in Sonic's super form, and when the rings run out you revert back to normal and automatically lose the fight, making titans more or less a timed fight.
Tumblr media
Giganto makes the best impression, but Wyvern is also a visually stunning fight as it takes Sonic on a flight path around Ares Island, dodging mountains and ruins that reach into the sky, all while the titan shoots laser beams and missiles back at Sonic.
The third titan, Knight, is a bit too gimmicky for my tastes, as you have to parry a shield toss from the titan and then ride the shield in a ricocheting path to hit and stun Knight so you can continue fighting as normal.
The final titan, Supreme, is unfortunately just Giganto again except he has a Gundam-sized rifle to shoot at Sonic. On the bright side, it's the shortest of the titan fights so it doesn't overstay that cold welcome.
Tumblr media
Presentation
Sonic Frontiers makes a great first impression because it's such a bold new direction for Sonic. Once the initial excitement wears off though, the seams start to show.
As mentioned before, the level design elements are not integrated into the environment and it makes the place look unpolished. On top of this issue, there's a lot of pop-in. You will constantly see grind rails pop in, in the distance. It's not exactly distracting but it is noticeable.
In my opinion, the rendering distance is too short for the scale of this game and what results is that navigating the islands by actually looking around for what to do next is impossible. You have to open your map and place a marker on where you want to go next to have any hope of getting there. You can't reliably look around to spot the next platforming challenge, for example, because the rails haven't loaded in yet and they won't until you're within a few meters of them.
There is occasional stuttering and frame rate drops, which for a game like this on modern hardware should not be happening, and that tells me this game was rushed to deadline before it could be fully optimized, which Sonic Team has not been shy about admitting. The visuals are far from cutting-edge, so there should be no issue running it at a good frame rate on an Xbox. I can't comment on the PC or PS5 versions but, from what I've seen elsewhere online, it runs about the same on other platforms. I assume this means the game targets the lowest common denominator: the Nintendo Switch.
Tumblr media
The animations are better in this than they've been in previous titles, though still nowhere near the expressiveness of actual animations like Sonic Boom. Even so, this goes a long way towards making Sonic and co. look more like characters that live in a stylized world rather than people in mascot costumes which can't make expressions with their eyes and can't move their limbs around too much for fear of tripping and falling in the middle of Disney World.
Most of the combat animations have a good sense of power behind them, although if you look closely at them or in slow-motion you'll notice that Sonic isn't actually moving very much, it's mostly visual effects like wind and blue lights. It gets the job done.
Tumblr media
One nitpick I have (or another one, I guess) is that Sonic acts like he's injured, hobbling over for most of the game as a result of being corrupted with cyberspace, but this doesn't get worse as the corruption progresses. It's the same pose no matter how much cyberspace we're talking about.
Art Style
The art style of this game is a mess. The islands look like they're attempting a photo-realistic, Unreal Engine vibe, but Sonic and friends still look like stylized video game characters.
As far as I can tell, these are the same character models used in Sonic Forces, which isn't actually a bad thing, but they've all been re-textured with a "fur texture" that looks more like felt. I gather this was inspired by the success of the Sonic movie by Paramount Studios and its use of a fur-textured C.G.I. Sonic in a live-action world.
Tumblr media
Adding to the movie inspiration is a blue electric aura which surrounds Sonic when boosting at full-power. It's not a bad thing, but I personally prefer the games version of Sonic to use more of a wind elemental effect. I think it's better for movie Sonic to be "electric Sonic" and for games Sonic to be, I don't know, the "Knight of the Wind" (to drag in a reference to past games, kicking and screaming).
The islands' biomes are a mixed bag as well. I think the forest theme of Kronos Island is very appealing. That probably comes down to blue Sonic on green backgrounds doesn't clash and green is relaxing anyway because of color psychology.
Ares Island, on the other hand, I cannot stand. The sprawling sand dunes lose visual interest after about two minutes, and the obsidian terrain of the volcanic Chaos Island isn't much better.
Tumblr media
The Verdict
Ok, you hung on this long. Is Sonic Frontiers good? Yes (for a Sonic game).
This game does a lot to address concerns fans have had for years, and it especially gets credit for trying to take the series in a new direction after over a decade of the same old, same old.
If we grade on the curve of comparing this only to past Sonic games, it's a knockout. If we look at it just as a video game that competes with every other game on the market, it's average.
I love Sonic probably more than any other media franchise, so I have major blinders on. They won me over just by paying lip service to the comics and sprinkling in a couple new ideas.
I will give credit for the responsiveness the game's director has shown online and I'm hopeful based on the promises already made of future updates and DLC. I think this will take the game from average to great, without having to grade on a curve.
This review was written based on the Xbox version played on a Xbox Series S. This was not a review copy.
Sonic Frontiers is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Exe laughed approaching the group of survivors, which consented of an injured knuckles, and very traumatized tails and cream, a very tired Amy and nearly dead sonic, and several others
"Look at your afraid, oh, this will be a wonderful massacre!" Exe said with a sadistic blood thirsty smile. "I wonder if any of you will scream as loudly as the doctor or, better yet, the little bunnys mother, though I'm not happy that she stopped me before I could finish her off." He said, approaching the group
Knuckles would go for the attack only for his arm to be broken like a twig and tossed aside like a rag doll being left for later to have to watch and listen as his friends die slow and painful.
Exe torn though the hospital following the fleeing survivors, killing each of them with a cruel efficiency, leaving most to die slowly soon cornering Amy, Tails, Cream, and Sonic the murderous faker hands covered in blood and gore.
"Enough running little toys it's time to play." Exe said with a smile as Amy lifted her Piko Piko hammer or what's left of it from their last encounter, but suddenly he heard something from behind him.
"Hey, next time you try and kill me." The voice said, but before Exe could look, a hand grasped his face and slammed him into the ground with a force strong enough to crack the concrete below him. "Make sure you go for the brain." The voice said it being doctor robotnik who was clearly attempting to kill the mass murderer.
Exe telporting would laugh blood leaking from the back of his head. "Please, you couldn't even kill Sonic. What makes you think you can kill a GOD!" Eggman would smile one of the lens of his glasses broken, revealing a blood red iris surrounded by black. "I wasn't trying." Egg said, suddenly shooting Exe square in the eye, causing the self-proclaimed god to cry out in pain. And with a speed surprising, even Exe Eggman grabbed him by the throat and started to toss him around like a rag doll, and there was no technology or robots involved. This was pure adrenaline, strength, and rage.
.Exe attempted to telport away only for Eggman to grab his leg hard enough to break his femur and smashed him into the ground. Exe could barely breathe. That's when he felt himself being lifted off the ground and slammed into it over and over again. The damage came in faster, and then he could regenerate from it, but when it slamming stop, Exe lay there, and his body barely was able to regenerate.
"You're no god." Eggman said, mocking standing over the defeated murderer. "You're just a fool playing as one." And before Exe could do anything, he felt something enter his brain this time different he felt a energy a pure unfiltered that's when it hit him. "A shard of the mast -" Eggman would interrupt him. "Of the master emerald, correct, I figure since you came from that gaint sorce of chaos energy, I figured it could also kill you and looks like I'm right." Eggman said, smiling, looking at the corrupted hedgehog. "Now Miss Rose, I suggest you cover the two children you have with you, eyes they've seen enough gore for one day." Eggman said, looking back at Amy.
The pink hedgehog would close her eyes while covering Creams and Tails ears, only hearing the sickening crunch and the sound of Eggman boot hitting the floor.

Yao: Song'er. *feeds him soup* how are you, darling?
Rusong: much better, A-Die!!
Yao: excellent.
*caresses face* you're my dearest.
Rusong: *smile*
A-Die. A-Qing came to my room, and covered me.
Yao: that's delightful.
Rusong: not only that, but she fell asleep near my bed while hugging my sleeve. Then spent time with me
Yao: awwww.
A-Song, I think she likes you back, and cares for you. But she doesn't want to admit it.
Rusong: i feel it's about time I tell her my feelings. I can't loose someone who's so caring and vibrant.
Yao: go for it, A-Song.
Wait a sec.
Rusong: mhm.
Yao: *comes back with a little box* I commissioned a golden comb for my future daughter-in-law, your future wife and this empire's future Wangfei.
Rusong: really?! Why A-Die! How long were you planning my wedding?????
Yao: Song'er relax. I wasn't planning your wedding yet.
Rusong: yet?? *blush*
Yao: well maybe I did write down a few things in my journal.
Rusong: A-Die......what did you write.
Yao: *blinks innocently* nothin'
Ok fine. I was creating an invite list, seeing where to put 4 chocolate and wine fountains in the palace, and structuring out your five day festivities along with colour schemes and dress codes
Rusong: five days!!!! And colour schemes too?!
Yao: you know I plan when I'm bored. And also you're my son. My son deserves the world. Everything must glamorously be put in place.
Yao: *strokes head*  and I know that my A-Song will find someone he loves, and you two would carry on the Mengs and the fox spirit empire.
Now do you really like her?
Rusong: yes, very much.
Yao: *hands him* give her this comb to confess to her.
Rusong: alright. I will.
But what if--
Yao: Song'er, there's no what if. You're gorgeous and well mannered. And you have dimples.
If she rejects, then there are other young ladies out there.
Rusong: mn.
It's a beautiful comb by the way.
Little diamond studs, pink sapphire peonies, emeralds, and~~
Yao: some Burmese jewelry of course.
Rusong: stunning!
Yao: yes. You know your A-Die loves to travel. And I receive gifts from foreign people.
This comb is fit for a Wangfei.
Rusong: I agree.
Yao: best of luck, darling.
Rusong: thank you! And thanks for helping me.
Yao: no prob.
Rusong: before I confess, I'm going to tell team dimple.
Yao: my chaos crew. *laughs* ok Song'er. Go tell them. Later I got to help Zish decorate for Yanli's baby's one month ceremony.
Well it's not really a ceremony but more of a surprise.
Rusong: aw so cute!
Yao: yup.
Rusong: and Ling gege is really happy.
Yao: everyone is.
Rusong: what's the baby's name?
Yao: well since she's a girl. Her name is Ruhua.
Rusong: beautiful
~
Team Dimple: *idk, maybe simping over A-Yao*
Rusong: Team D.
Mo xuanyu: Song'er.
Su she: Little Dianxia. Are you ok?
Rusong: yea. My cold is gone, Uncle Su!
Su she: great.
Xue yang: waddup mini boss Dianxia.
Rusong: guys, I want to tell you something.
Mo xuanyu: *cries* we already know that you like that evil Lan lips. But we still love you either way.
Rusong: what? It has nothing to do with Lan lips. I mean Shizun.
I have a crush on A-Qing.
Su she: awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!
Mo xuanyu: our tiny baby Song'er has a little crush. Omg. I feel so old. I held you in my arms as a baby!! Don't you know that. My little heart.
Team d, I'll be crying all week, so if you see my makeup running, you know why.
Su she: are we gonna turn gray soon.
Who'll get bald first?
Mo xuanyu: I hope it's not meeeeee. *sobs* you know how much money I spend on my hair treatments! And rice water imported from Dongying.
I did that to look nice for Yao gege by the way.
Xue yang: did you guys make out. That's really cute.
Rusong: no uncle muffin, lol.
And you guys are not going to get gray and bald. Because of cultivation.
Xue yang: this silly girl. She came here and seduced the hulijing Dianxia.
She played her cards right.
That's why she's my daughter.
But is it the other way around? Because you have Jiggy's face, and Jiggy is good at making people fall for him.
Su she: over all we're happy for you, Song'er. Does Huangdi know?
Rusong: yup.
Mo xuanyu: I hope you two have a lot of hulijing babies.
Xue yang: with dimples. They better have dimples.
You can squeeze all your genes into A-Qing if you want.
Su she: that's not how it works!
Xue yang: do I look like a doctor, Minshan. But Wen Qing once tried to teach me about medicine but she's too hot to be taken seriously.
And her lipstick is too distracting.
Mo xuanyu: lol. I can't relate. But Yao gege would look hot with lipstick on.
Su she: he looks good in everything.
Xue yang: he's smoking hot.
Rusong: oh team D. You always have to simp for A-Die, lol.
Su she: that's our profession.
Xue yang: it's Jiggy's fault for being so darn attractive.
Mo xuanyu: yea, I'm a Yao simp.
~~~
On the other side....
A-Qing: *looking at one of Rusong's gifts*
Xue yang: you really got some skill, Qingqing.
A-Qing: xue yang! Don't startle me like that!!
Xue yang: girl aren't you going to tell me about your little crush?! I popped you out of me!
A-Qing: no you didn't!!
Xue yang: spill, child!
A-Qing: ok fine. I do have a crush on Rusong.
Xue yang: ahhhhhhhhhh. Omg!!
You got my skill! Yea those dimpled people love our antics. Like look at Jiggy.
A-Qing: yea, I feel like he has his A-Die's charm.
Xue yang: *ruffles hair* look at you! Marrying into a rich family.
A-Qing: wow, wow, wow. Marriage! I'm not ready for that. And neither is Rusong.
We're just more than friends.
Xue yang: how are you supposed to make children for him!
A-Qing: we're still young! Xue yang!!
Xue yang: *laughing*
This little Dianxia is completely in love. He gave you gifts, a minor staff of maids, clothes. Heehee.
A-Qing: ohhh that's why he did that??? I didn't realise.
I thought that he was being a hospitable host.
Xue yang: I would have thought so too. Because Jiggy is great at hosting and making people feel comfortable.
Little Dianxia is just like Jiggy by the way.
A-Qing: *sigh* its just that I can't stop thinking of him. Especially when I sleep.
Xue yang: because you're a simp.
There's nothing wrong about being a simp. Do you accept your simping faith.
A-Qing: I....I feel like I do.
But xue yang, what if he rejects me.
Xue yang: then punch him in the face.
Ok no don't do that. He's the prince and Jiggy will kill me.
A-Qing: hahahahaha afraid of Jiggy.
Xue yang: no, I'm not afraid of that short--
A-Qing: oh hey Jiggy!
Xue yang: *turns around* IT WASN'T ME!! A-QING PUT ME UP TO THIS!! DON'T TAKE MY CANDY
Wait......no one's there.
You little pest.
A-Qing: the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. You popped me out right?
Xue yang: I wish I didn't. *rolls eyes*
My hips would have been smaller.
A-Qing: what hips.
Xue yang: xiao xingchen liked my hips.
A-Qing: he doesn't have any eyes!!
Xue yang: but he has hands to touch. Ten functional fingees.
A-Qing: unlike you.
Xue yang: you're very mean and savage.
A-Qing: how does it feel being bullied by someone younger than you?
Xue yang: *sarcasm* lovely.
Mo xuanyu: omg, spill sista. You really like Song'er? You took care of him when he was unwell.
Don't worry, sis, I'll do your makeup for you, to enhance your cuteness.
Su she: aw so sweet. Well I see that Song'er is happy when he's with you.
Xue yang: ahh you have classy taste. I knew that you liked Rusong since the day you walked in.
You can't hide things from me.
A-Qing: don't tell him anything! I don't know if he likes me back!! And I don't want to be heartbroken and rejected.
Su she: but he bought you gifts. Of course he likes you back.
A-Qing: I want to hear it from him.
Mo xuanyu: gal knows what she wants. Love that!
Xue yang: that's how I raised her. Thank me later.
Su she: yangyang, you did a great job!
A-Qing: is Rusong looking for rich girls?
I'm not rich and fancy
Su she: he loves you for you. Song'er isn't a materialist.
Xue yang: he's humble just like Jiggy.
A-Qing: ooh.
Su she: are you going yo tell Huangdi? Huangdi will be so happy!
A-Qing: nop. I want to tell Jiggy along with Rusong. Before I don't want to come across as obsessive.
Mo xuanyu: A-Qing, you're so sweet.
Xue yang: you're a Yandere.
A-Qing: xue yang!
Xue yang: but you're smart. You can't tell Jiggy. He and Rusong are a team. They put everyone in chokeholds. It's us simps who has to fend for ourselves.
A-Qing: are we talking about my crush or the Sunshot campaign.
I'm getting mix signals.
Mo xuanyu: xue yang, don't scare her.
A-Qing: Anyways team D, I have to go back to Yi city soon. It's better to tell him before I leave.
Mo xuanyu: girl, you know what's a long distance relationship.
Also Song'er will miss you more.
Su she: right.
~~
Later on, in the Peacock empire!!
A-Yao was on top of Zixuan's shoulders while putting up decorations.
Yao: move a little to the left.
Zixuan: yea A-Yao.
Yao: *fixing*
Zixuan: can you reach it?
Yao: yup.
Zixuan: *wobbles a bit*
Yao: *laughing* don't drop me.
Zixuan: never Foxy.
Huaisang: I have never seen these two work in their lives ever since they became emperors.
Mo xuanyu: leave them alone.
Su she: Huangdi is a hardworking emperor, by the way.
Xue yang: go help them, Huaisang!
Zixuan: Foxy your tail is in my face.
Yao: sorry. It just appears when I stretch too much. *makes it disappear*
Zixuan: awww that's so cute!
Rusong: A-Die, uncle Zish. Where are your staff?
Zixuan: working on other things. But we want to help. To impress A-li.
Mo xuanyu: that's really sweet.
Zixuan: yup! That's why I called Foxy to help me.
Mo xuanyu: where's Saozi by the way?
Zixuan: she's spending some time in Yunmeng with her bros, a.k.a the attractive Jiang cheng and that niucence necromancer.
Mo xuanyu: ohh.
Zixuan: so I said that I should surprise her by decorating the palace for this auspicious day.
Yao: and I'm honoured to help Zish!
Mo xuanyu: you two make an awesome team!
Both: thank you!
Yao: *comes down from Zixuan's shoulder.* what next?
Zixuan: ummm. Let's go make a cake!
Yao: good idea! A-Yu, come help us.
Mo xuanyu: of course!!
Zixuan: guys, I have ordered some special tea.
Yao: ohh that's great. What's so special about it.
Zixuan: I can't tell you, Foxy.
I'm too shy.
Mo xuanyu: but you can tell me, right?! Spill the beans, Xuan gege!
Yao: you know you can't say no to xuanyu, Zishie.
Zixuan: fineee, lemme tell you two before I get a double dosage of puppy eyes.
It has an expensive aphrodisiac.
Mo xuanyu: *gasps* xuan gege!
Yao: gosh I thought you were innocent.
Zixuan: it's just an experiment.
Yao: oh dear.
Mo xuanyu: Yanli better beware of this horny peacock.
Zixuan: rude, lol.
