Can I make a confession?

I used to think Sk8er Boi (that song by, I believe, Avril Lavinge) was about cliques, not a snubbed crush.

I was a baby aroace. "He was a boy, she was a girl. Could I make it any more obvious?"

Clearly, you could have. XD I thought the "obvious" part was "she's a girl so she cares about her appearance (a pretty ballet dancer) and he's a boy, so he cares more about doing actions (a daring skater)."

I always thought it was kind of stereotypical to start a song like that, but I liked the direction it went with the way the song told the story in my head.

"She stuck up her nose because he wasn't One of the Popular Kids and was thus beneath her. But he becomes a famous rock star, so who's laughing now?!"

I mean, I definitely got the "vengeful"(?) sort of vibe. I am very tired right now and thus cannot remember the correct word. Irony, but triumphant? Meh.

What I'm saying is, I appreciated the story even without the element of romance ever crossing my mind.

Is that a testament to how good the song's story is? Or a testament to Exactly How Aroace I Am?

EMO vs MALL EMO vs SCENE vs SCENECORE

i see a lot of confusion and arguments around what is emo/scene or not so i wanted to make this blog as a fan of most of these genres to hopefully help clarify a little!

EMO this genre is the ORIGINAL emo, although it sounds completely different from the emo music most people know today. it originated in the DC hardcore scene in the mid-80s, spawning from post-hardcore and hardcore and gained more popularity in the 90s. bands include: rites of spring, sunny day real estate, moss icon, cap'n jazz, the get up kids,

MALL EMO mall emo is what most people think of when they hear the word emo. i call it mall emo (not sure if others do or not but i think it's most fitting) because it's the bands whose merch you would find somewhere like hot topic or spencer's(not a dig at mall emo i love this genre so much). it's the music genre(s) associated with the emo style and gained a ton of popularity in the 2000s. bands include my chemical romance, falling in reverse, all time low, panic! at the disco, fall out boy, paramore, pierce the veil, sleeping with sirens, evanescence, escape the fate, flyleaf, taking back sunday etc.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: EMO AND MALL EMO ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!!!! however, getting mad at someone for thinking mall emo is real emo is kind of pointless. because of the popularity of the emo style, the word has evolved to more assosciated with mall emo in pop culture than real emo. most people don't know the difference and that's not like a personal failing on their part that you need to be rude about! if/when you explain it to someone, be respectful! i'm looking at you, garrett!

SCENE scene is a subculture within emo, with its own more colorful version of the same fashion elements, that gained popularity in the late 2000s/early 2010s. there are a lot of different music genres within the scene subculture but the ones people most think of is crunkcore, which is a mix between electronic, hiphop, rap, and metal. bands include: dot dot curve, ismfof, attack attack!, millionaires, brokencyde, metro station, the medic droid, kill paradise, chunk! no captain chunk!, jj demon, breathe carolina, 3OH!3 etc

SCENECORE scenecore is a subgenre of hyperpop that originated on tiktok. it uses the aesthetic of the scene subculture a lot, and scene related things are often mentioned in the songs. however, the difference between scene lyrics and scenecore lyrics is that while scene music mostly has lyrics about sex, drugs, love, partying, clubbing etc scenecore lyrics are oftentimes about self harm or other harmful behavior or weirdly fetishize scene people. this is a problem because it's essentially just harmful stereotypes about scene trying to perpetuate itself as actual scene music. bands include: 6arelyhuman, kets4eki, odetari, rebzyyx, d3r, asteria, luvwillow, etc.

All That I'm Living For is the twelfth track from Evanescence's second studio album, The Open Door. It is described in an MTV article as "a punishing mix of electronica, abrasive guitars and Lee's milky vocals". It was intended to be the third single from the album, but after listening to requests by the band and fan reactions to the decision, the label chose Sweet Sacrifice in its place.

Amy's description of the song:

" I love that song. It feels really different for us. The lyrics are about my writing process - how I put the song together, why I do it, and how I'm trying to fix all the things that are wrong with me through music. The first line says, "Save me from the night again / I can feel the separation from the living." It's always night time when I start writing, just as the dusk is setting."

EVANESCENCE'S AMY LEE HAILS SLEEP TOKEN: "I'M BLOWN AWAY"

Sleep Token are Revolver's Artist of the Year, and their towering instant-classic Take Me Back to Eden is our No. 1 album of 2023.

So yeah, you can say that we here at Revolver HQ are big fans of Sleep Token — and we're hardly alone in that.

Beyond their devoted cult of worshipers, the anonymous, masked band have earned glowing praise from many of their fellow musicians in the heavy-music world. In fact, one of their most famous fans is Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee.

In the 2000s, Evanescence spearheaded a captivating mix of heavy-rock bombast and moody, ethereal atmosphere. On their debut album, Fallen, Lee and Co. demonstrated how explosive metal surges ("Bring Me to Life") and melancholy piano balladry ("My Immortal") could coexist harmoniously.

So, in a way, Evanescence were tapping into Sleep Token's sonic wavelength while Vessel was possibly still inhabiting a past life. Unsurprisingly, Lee is over the moon about Sleep Token's shrewd songcraft and jaw-dropping ambition.

"I love Sleep Token. I'm blown away," Lee enthuses to Revolver. "How do they do it? How do they go so many different directions and call it one song?

"It took me three listens of ["The Summoning"] to realize that when they do that whole psychedelic section at the end, that it's actually the same chorus as it was before, only in a completely different way. And I love it even more for that.

"I thought they just went a whole new direction and wrote a new part, and then I was like, "Wait that's the same… but not at all."

She continues: "I love it. I think as a musician, music like that gets your brain tingling. It's exciting. It's like, wow, anything's possible. It's inspiring. I like them a lot."

While Lee has been the very public face of her band for the past two decades, Sleep Token are, of course, fastidiously anonymous. Yet despite the very different approach, the Evanescence frontwoman is quick to affirm Vessel's choice to remove the cult of personality from his project and put all the focus on the music.

"I think it's amazing," she says of Sleep Token's secrecy. "I think too much these days the focus is on everything but the music with a lot of the mainstream. And for me, if there's not the music then what are we doing? That's what this is supposed to be about. I love it. I think it's awesome. It's creative. It's really cool."

So it's fairly known if you follow me that I really love Evanescence.

I'm just saying I'm super disappointed with their decision to perform with skillet as an opener.

I just feel like you can't play it both ways you can't want to be seen as an LGBT ally and also have someone who is a Christian nationalist who has said a lot of anti LGBTQ stuff on the same stage. I'm not going to be in an audience with those fans. My humanity and my rights are not a difference of opinion. People who believe they should have dominion over this country because of their religion are not safe people. I'm disappointed evanescence is giving them a platform.

As much as Amy wants to talk about using her voice I think she's too afraid to alienate people and because of that she won't create an actual safe space for marginalized fans.

This took me a little bit to figure out, but I think I've gotten it.

Alcina:

As a singer and a fan from the jazz era, she had many vinyl records in her study.

Some nights you'd find her there, sitting back with a nice bottle of wine simply listening to her favorites.

She'd also occasionally sing along to them, her beautiful voice crooning the night away.

Once she asked if you ever had a song that made you think of her. You playfully teased that it was Maneater by Nelly Furtado.

Of course you had to play it for her, she fondly rolled her eyes and smiled. "How original draga mea."

After the song ended a couple of more played before she recognized the tune that was floating out of the speaker.

The woman began singing and Alcina listened to every word that was sung, eyes filling with tears as she realized what exactly it was.

You hummed this song to her when she was upset or extremely stressed to calm her down. To know that you been declaring your love for her this way made her heart ache sweetly.

As the notes ended she wiped at a tear that had escaped. "Draga? What is this song called?"

"It's called Can't Help Falling in Love With You by Hailey Reinhardt." You answer, "Do you like it?"

"I love it." She answers, "To know this is the song you hum to me in my darkest moments....I love you."

"I love you too." You say coming over and kissing her. "Here I have another song that makes me think of you. It's called Dream a Little Dream of Me by Kina Grannis."

And as she listened she melted all over again and kissed you lovingly, holding you in her arms.

Donna:

She enjoyed listening to the soft music that played from the old radio in the living room.

Sometimes you'd get up and ask her to dance with you while a song played.

It never failed to make her blush.

Sometimes you would sing soft songs to her, one of your favorites being Fall for You by Secondhand Serenade.

She adored how you'd sing to her and sometimes to the dolls.

One day she asked, "Cara mea? You know how sometimes songs can make you think of someone?"

"Yes, I do. Why do you ask?"

She shyly looked at you, "Because I was wondering if there was a song that made you think of me."

"Of course I do." You answered, coming over to cup her cheek. "Would you like for me to play it for you? Maybe sing along with it?"

"I would love that." She smiled softly, pressing a kiss to your palm.

You sat up the little speaker and player, pushing buttons to get to the song. An upbeat song started playing and you began to sing along with it.

It was sweet to hear you sing those words, to know that this made you think of her.

She found it was a very cute song and with a tender smile she asked you to play it again.

Of course you could never deny her and made it start again, this time pulling her to dance with you as you sang along.

"What is the name of this song my love?"

"I'm Yours by Jason Mraz."

"I love it and you." She said pressing a kiss to your lips.

"I love you too."

Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela:

When you brought in this little box that fit in your hand and speaker they were instantly very curious.

You showed them by touching the screen you could make music play. They were in awe and quickly demanded you play something for them.

Knowing that they liked creepy things you played Lullaby of Woe by Ashley Serena first.

They loved it, Cassandra claimed they could probably scare the men downstairs with it.

Then they demanded more songs, so you played a selection of songs from Evanescence. They're favorite being Lithium.

After that you surfed through different music genres, them finding some that were pleasing and some that were not.

Daniela asked if there was something maybe up beat that they could listen to and so you played Cheap Thrills by Sia for them.

It was a huge hit, so much so that they asked for you to play it over and over again.

"Girls! Turn that song off!" Alcina called out when she had enough. You quickly shut the song off before ducking your head.

"Sorry mother." The girls said before asking if they could take the box and speaker to the basement. You nodded and let them go before facing their mother.

"Sorry my Lady."

"It's okay draga, it's not your fault. You were just trying to show them something new." She said before making a face. "Of course they're playing it again."

"Do you want me to go tell them not to?"

"No, if you'll stay and have a chat with me I think I can tune it out." Alcina said with a small smile. "Think you can?"

"Of course my Lady." You say with a smile.

Heisenberg:

He didn't really listen to much music, the songs on the radio not his type.

That and it was so loud in his factory that over half the time it was hard to hear the music.

So when you walked in with a phone and speaker one day he was skeptical.

"Just give me some time. We'll find you something you like." You assure him.

You searched through different genres, before finding a AC/DC station that he seemed to enjoy.

It took a few days but he decided that Highway to Hell was his favorite.

He took to more music like them, a classic rock sort of fan.

Then you introduced him to what some people call mash-ups.

"That just sounds stupid." He said as you were explaining what a mash-up was.

"You thought the phone was stupid in the first place and yet here you are with a favorite song already." You counter looking at him with a smirk.

"Play the damn song then." He said tossing a spare bolt at you.

You smiled and put it on, watching as he tapped his foot to the beat. When it was over you smiled at him. "Well?"

"It's not bad, kind of like it." He looked over at you. "What's it called?"

"Sweet Dreams+White Stripes by Pomplamoose."

"Play another one, would you?"

"Sure thing."

Mother Miranda:

She didn't usually listen to music while working down in her lab. She preferred the silence as it helped her think.

Though when in the house she found herself listening to all sorts of music.

You had brought a phone and speaker one day, shuffling through music trying to find songs that she liked.

She found some that she liked, but encouraged you to keep shuffling through. Her reason? She found that when a song came on that you liked you dance just a little with it while doing chores or whatever else.

You played a couple of songs that you said reminded you of her. The first god is a woman by Ariana Grande, which made her roll her eyes and faintly smirk. The second called Deity by Valree, the sexual theme of the song staying with her for days and thought of during your intimate moments.

There was one day she came up from the lab, to find you cooking supper. The music playing low as you hummed along with it.

"Hello lovebird." She greeted, coming and resting her hands on your waist as she kissed your cheek.

"Hello Mira." You greet, smiling at her. "Supper is almost done."

"It smells wonderful." She said helping set the table for the both of you. It didn't take long to plate and enjoy the food, she noticed you had a glint in your eye but chose to wait and see what you had in store for her.

After supper you took her to the living room, setting up the speaker. "I found a song for you." You start, "I think you'll like it." Offering your hand out as the song started playing.

Miranda rose and let you lead her in a slow dance, your voice soft as you sang along.

She could feel tears threatening to spring from her eyes as she listened. She rested her head against your shoulder, tucking her face into the crook of your neck.

You sung it all the way through before pulling back enough to press a kiss to her cheek.

"Oh my love." She said softly, lifting to kiss you in return. "I do love it. Sing it again for me?"

Chapter 6

Third POV

"Poor girl... she's the only survivor of that horrific car accident."

"On top of that, her family doesn't even want her.."

"She's only eight and has to be placed in foster care..."

"We all know how disastrous the system is...another bright future lost."

"Such a pity -"

Eboni jolts awake, whimpering at the pain in her stomach. She slowly leans her back against the back of the hospital bed. She takes a second to scan her surroundings. The teen curses under her breath. She truly hates hospitals. It's where people go to die, a complete death house.

Doctors don't care. It's all about a paycheck. She knew this hospital bill would cost her a fortune. Eboni's hateful thoughts were cut short by her hospital door opening, two detectives, a nurse, a doctor, and two other strangers dressed in casual clothing.

"Miss Eboni, my name is Detective Smith. I'd first like to say that I'm sorry for your families dea-"

"Foster family." Eboni interrupted, staring down at her hands, which are resting on her lap.

"Right... Anyways, we would like to question you if you're feeling ok enough." Mr. Smith said as the nurse began checking Eboni's vitals.

Eboni would yank her arm away every time the nurse tried to touch her. The doctor held a needle with white liquid inside. The male gave the teen a look, making her comply with them. Eboni just loathes being touch my any of the medical profession- or anyone at all.

With a heavy sigh, Eboni nods her head, now feeling extremely tense from the nurse drawing blood and replacing the bandages over the stab wounds and cuts after cleaning them.

"So...explain to us the events that took place that night in your own words."

Eboni looks at Mr. Smith, mostly focusing on the rather tall, lanky detective who has yet to say a word. Though he didn't speak, his eyes spoke volumes. Whatever Eboni said, he wouldn't believe in the slightest. The teen couldn't help but smirk at that look. A look she's always had to face from superiors.

"It was my birthday. I decided to treat myself since everyone forgot. I stole Melissa's credit card and did a bit of shopping. Though...he was watching me that whole time, too." Eboni trails off, staring up at the ceiling with hollow eyes.

The lanky male finally spoke, "Who was following you?"

"Jeff. Jeff, the killer. You guys may say he isn't really, but I saw him with my own eyes. Fought him with my own hands." The teen said, gripping her bed sheets tightly.

The lanky detective was the first to show how he felt. He was surprised, but his eyes held an unknown anger that peaked Eboni's interest. "Why didn't you go to the police!?"

"Micheal! You can't shout at the victim like that!" Mr. Smith scolds.

"Suspect. She is a suspect." Micheal corrects him, moving to lean on the wall, crossing his arms over his chest.

Eboni knew then. Micheal is young looking. She knew he joined the force just to get some sort of revenge on Jeff. The killer must've taken someone important to him. Doesn't she care, though, not at all. In fact, she finds the ironic situation laughable.

"Well, Micheal, who would believe me? I had no proof, and melissa would be pissed. I just... had enough of her shit so I didn't say anything." He grumbles, tracing her still healing spilt lip with her fingers.

Smith took notice of that but decided not to say anything. "Anyways, he's been watching me the moment we moved into his old home. He'd stand across the street, staring at my window all night. I didn't care. I just knew he wouldn't make a move."

"You must be a fan of his, huh? That has to be the reason why you didn't say anything!" Micheal snapped, which earned a slap upside his head by smith.

"Sorry about him, please continue." Mr. Smith said kindly.

"Mhm, anyways, Melissa and I got into another fight about her credit card. That's where I got this busted lip from."

"So that wasn't Jeff, noted." Smith said as he wrote something down on his notepad.

"Yeah. The lip and black eye were melissa. Later that night, I went to the skate park to try out my new rollerblades. Jeff was there too, but he didn't approach me. He left early, though. Normally, he would follow me home, so I found that odd. But once I got home, those questions were answered." The girl chuckles bitterly.

"Ok, now what all did he say to you? Did he ask why he targeted you?" Micheal asked, finally sounding a bit more calm, but that sharp look in his eyes never changed.

Eboni turns her head to finally lock her eyes with Micheal, her burning gaze unnerving even for the detective. "He called me a coward for not having the guts to murder them... and he was right. That family..those fuckers made my life worse than it already was. I was supposed to be given love, given help- but I was just a fucking tool to make that bitch look good. She said it herself. Those were her last words before Jeff killed her. The other three were already dead when I got there. After she died, the two of us fought, and the rest is...history." she sighs, an odd glint returning to her rather dark eyes.

Micheal noticed this and began seething. "Wow....you really are sick. I get your life has been crap but that gives you no right to fantasize over something so horrific! Who's to say you wouldn't have killed them yourself if Jeff never did?!" He shouts, hands clenched into fists.

Eboni laughs. The teen broke out into a full fit of unhinged laughter. When she finally calms down, the girl is met with a bit of shaken expressions - except for the two strangers who still haven't spoken yet.

"Because I'm a coward! I told you what Jeff said. I don't have the gunts. I would've never had it. I could only hope...fucking wish they would drop dead and be with fucking flies. Funny...how a infamous serial killer was the one to answer said wish." She mumbles, feeling exhausted thanks to the pain medication given by the doctors.

"And that's why you're a suspect!"

"Was." Mr. Smith said flatly, frowning at Micheal.

"What!? But she might as well could've been his accomplice!" He shouts, face red with anger.

"Jeff's blood was found at the crime scene. He left her for dead with those wounds. If we were a few minutes late, she would've bleed to death. She is a victim, Jeff, the killer's only surviver. And because of that-"

"You'll be placed in our care." The middle-aged woman finally spoke, being one of the two strangers.

Eboni moves to lay down, curling up in her blanket. "Yeah sure...whatever." she grumbles.

The woman smiles softly, the male moving to stand closer to her. "My name is Tiffany, and this is Daniel. We're your new foster parents."

"Dispite what you've been through with your previous one. Those two are the most trusted within the foster system of this town. Not one child has ever complained."

"Maybe because they've been too scared straight to." Eboni chuckles, glancing at her new parents before closing her eyes. "We'll see if I match up to your shitty statistics." The teen said softly before slipping into a much needed deep slumber.

Sally's Song

Sally's Song is a song from the Tim Burton film, The Nightmare before Christmas. It is originally sung in the film by actress Catherine O'Hara. Amy Lee covered the song on the 2008 compilation album, Nightmare Revisited.

Amy's comment on the song:

"I first saw the Nightmare Before Christmas when I was about 13 years old. I loved it so much- the art, the music, the story - that I have watched it at least 40 times since then. It has been an inspiration to me since my artistic identity was just beginning to form, and it never gets old- it still puts me in the mood to create. I was the girl in high school who was blasting TNBC soundtrack in my car instead of whatever was cool back then. In all honesty, Sally's Song has always been "my song" on that CD, and I used to play it over and over, making up harmonies to sing with it. I just want to gush out loud that I am SO lucky that I got to do this. Please believe me when I say they couldn't have gotten a bigger fan to do it. The coolest part about it was that I had complete creative control. It was just like, "go for it!" and I got to recreate the song however I wanted. So I went to my good friend Will Hunt's studio in Ft. Worth (not the evanescence drummer, weird coincidence but its a totally different guy), who is a very creative producer and drummer, and we just had fun with it. I decided to whip out my new budding skill and play harp on the track, which I LOVE and intend to use much more in the future. Even though my version is different than the original, I wanted to pay homage to Danny Elfman and to Sally in every way I could, from the creepy background vocals to the droning harmonium (which reminds me of the accordian in the song). I can't wait for it to come out, I love it so much! Thanks Will! I'm not sure if you guys know this yet, but I'm going to play it on the Tonight Show on October 13. Tim will be up there with me!" John "Soap" MacTavish - Hair/thrash metal

If you ever asked Soap what his favorite kind of rock music was, he would say "party rock by lmfao" He's an airhead, be patient with him lol

In all seriousness, hair/thrash metal is more his style.

If you couldn't tell by the way Soap takes care of his mohawk, homeboy loves the crazy hairstyles. Goes feral over it.

Soap wears tight jeans that extenuate his thighs all the time on missions, so he loves to just dress in the tightest of pants and pretend to be in an 80s music video.

Leather, animal print, spandex, even studded or spiky chaps. You name it, Soap will do it.

Will definitely put on some sensual 80s metal song during sex. Kingdom comes's "what Love Can Be" Sounds about right.

Soap once brought the 141 to a Pantera concert, and ended up brawling some punks in the moshpit for bullying Gaz.

They ended up getting kicked out by security and Ghost ended up dragging his sorry ass through the parking lot.

Price was definitely a disappointed dad that night. Mostly disappointed at himself for letting his children get too rowdy on his watch... and joining in on the brawl.

Simon "Ghost" Riley - Melodic/doom metal

When the cold weather begins to come around later in the year, and bands like Katatonia, Opeth and Swallow the Sun put out more music, Ghost is always there.

Ghost is from Britain, so he appreciates any music that comes from Europe.

There are two types of moshpits when it comes to melodic/doom metal - The ones with viking chanting and feral animal noises - and the ones with the tear jerkers, the ones that go just to feel things.

Ghost once took a trip to Sweden with Soap for work, catching a Katatonia concert while there.

By the time the fith or sixth song starts playing, Soap is baffled and emotionally drained by how heavy Katatonia's riffs and lyrics are.

Standing in a sea of swaying, rowdy and possibly drunk crowd of thousands of Swedes, Ghost takes the opportunity to hold Soap's hand.

In Ghost's defense, it's an outdoor event, and it's so cold outside, hell could've froze over. Soap knows the real reason, though.

By the end of the night, everyone is headbanging and swaying.

They both plan to go again next year.

Kyle "Gaz" Garrick - Alt/nu/rap metal

Gaz is that "I listen to everything" kind of friend.

Is definitely open to new groups, genres and sounds.

Leans more into the early 2000s rock/metal a little more.

Gaz is more "cultured" like the younger generation is, and loves the memes that came with the generation too.

Some of the rookies will catch Gaz singing along to a Rammstein song, and fail... miserably. His German sucks.

Soap and Gaz got so drunk one night that both men started belting "bring me to life" by Evanescence every time Ghost would walk into a room, and laughed so hard they almost threw up.

Some 90s rap metal is cheesy, but Gaz tolerates it. Since he mostly grew up with hip hop, Gaz feels obligated to like some rap metal.

Loves any kind of metal song with movie references or influences.

Gaz doesn't go to a lot of concerts, no matter how much of an extrovert he is. It's just not his thing, especially when it comes to heavy metal.

HUGE fan of Linkin Park.

Gaz definitely cried after Chester Bennington's death. Has a whole Playlist dedicated to the singer. 💙

John Price - Alt/classic/grunge metal

Price is a man who loves the classics.

Just because something is "classic", doesn't necessarily mean it's "old".

Yes, Price is older than all of them (probably), and grew up with a lot of 70s and 80s music, but surprisingly, Price loves bands who are with the modern times.

The cure, Deftones, Bush, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM. You name it.

Tried to get into punk metal once, definitely wasn't for him.

Like Gaz, he's the "I listen to everything" friend.

Price goes into bars once in a while while off duty, with the boys and Laswell and will hear a Soundgarden song playing. He likes it. A lot.

Cigars, whiskey, company of friends and some metal is what makes his nights better. It lifts his spirits tremendously.

Definitely doesn't go to concerts anymore. Will flat out say no if you asked, end of conversation.

Why go to concerts when you can watch them at home on YouTube? Lol

Will cook breakfast to the sound of Alice in Chains playing in the background.

Phillip Graves - Metalcore/post-hardcore

Like the all American he is, Graves likes to fucking party. The best kind of parties? Metalcore concerts.

Graves' journey through his metal listening experience started tame enough. It soon turned into being fascinated with groups like Lorna Shore, the Dillinger Escape Plan and Atreyu.

Tried to once attempt a fry scream. Ended up blowing his vocal cords out.

He'll put Lorna Shore full blast on his headphones and let Will Ramos' voice numb his brain until his head is buzzing and his ears are ringing.

Likes to test people's ability to point out vocals. "Is this an animal? Or a human being making this sound?" LOL

Will throw shit with every breakdown in a song.

Comes up behind someone and will yell a "BLEGH!" just to scare the shit out of you. Lol

I'm Going Under~Ricky Horror

Y/N Pov:

I'm in my bedroom, searching for my Evanescence shirt. My boyfriend, Ricky Horror, yes, THE Ricky Horror from Motionless In White is taking me somewhere tonight. He said that it's a surprised, and I'm honestly scared. I've always been scared of surprises. Everyone likes to prank me, so that's probably why.

I sightly smiled, and started thinking about when I met Ricky. It was actually very interesting how I met him.

Flashback\

I was at Hot Topic, like I usually am, shopping and looking at all the band shirts. I looked around and found a MIW tee, but before I could grab it, another person got it before me. I rolled my eyes, and walked over to him to see that it was Ricky Horror?! What the fuck?! I was in the same store as Ricky fucking Horror?! I'm assuming that he saw that I was not breathing and freaking the fuck out, because he asked "are you okay, miss? I didn't mean to frighten you"

I looked at him, and said "Oh no, don't worry! You didn't scare at all! I'm just shocked that I'm in the same store as Ricky Horror". I heard Ricky chuckle, and say "You're a fan?" I nodded my head, nervously, then I felt a soft shirt in my hands.

I looked up at Ricky, and saw him smiling "Every fan needs a shirt of their favorite band" I blushed, and next thing I knew, I had his number in my phone.

End of Flashback\

That was only a month ago, we have been talking everyday, and we will call every chance that we got. We going on our first date today. We haven't done a date earlier because of Ricky's work schedule being hetic. I really like him. To say that I'm nervous is an understatement. I'm terrified. What if I say something and he takes it the wrong way?

I just need to calm down. Y/N breathe in and out, it's gonna be okay. It's all gonna be okay. I breathed in and out, trying to calm myself down. I can do this. Just then, I saw a black shirt with a familiar logo on it. I smiled as I saw my Evanescence shirt.

It was a black shirt, with the Evanescence logo and symbol in purple.

I sighed of relief, as I slipped the shirt over my head. I quickly grabbed my black and white striped tights, and skirt and put them on. I put on some accessories, along with my leather jacket and sparkly boots. I smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror. I already had some makeup on, so I was all set!

A few minutes later, I heard 'Bring Me To Life' start playing. I looked at my phone, and saw that Ricky had texted me. I smiled, and read the text, which said "Hey Y\N! I'm outside your house". I smiled, and quickly grabbed my bag and ran downstairs and outside to Ricky's car.

I opened the passenger side door, and sat down and the first thing that I heard playing was 'Tourniquet' I looked at Ricky confused, and he just smiled about it. Okay, he's acting strange. "Why are you playing Evanescence for?" I asked. I saw Ricky look over at me, and say "am I not allowed to listen to one of your favorite bands?" I looked at him, and said "yeah but I didn't know that you liked Evanescence"

I saw Ricky smile as he pulled out of the driveway, "oh babydoll, there's a lot that you don't know about me" I looked at him shocked, and said "same for you Horror" I smirked as I saw him looking shocked.

After an hour, we finally arrived to where we were going, and I'm confused as fuck. Why are we at a concert venue? I looked at Ricky, and saw him smiling wide. Now I'm even more confused, what is happening? I felt a soft hand grab mine and started holding it; I smiled, and I felt being lifted off of the ground.

Next thing I knew, Ricky was running towards the building while carrying me. Damn, wasn't expecting this at all. Just then, I saw a Evanescence poster. Wait.. this isn't what I think it is, is it? Am I seeing Evanescence live?! I looked at Ricky, and saw him smiling, proudly. "We're seeing Evanescence live! But before that I got you VIP, so you can meet Amy Lee" Ricky said.

I immediately felt hot tears rush to my eyes. I was gonna meet the girl who saved my life? I quickly wiped my tears, and hugged Ricky tightly. "Thank you so much. You didn't have to do this for me" I felt Ricky's string arms wrapped around me, and I heard Ricky say "I wanted to do this for you. I know how much you love Evanescence and Amy wanted to meet you too. I told her about you"

I smiled, and wiped more tears away. "I love you so much" I smiled at Ricky, and he gave a soft, but sweet smile back. "I love you too. We gotta go meet her now" I heard Ricky say. I smiled even wider, and grabbed Ricky's hand as he led me towards the meet and greet room.

As soon as we got in there, I saw Amy and started sobbing. I couldn't believe that I was in the same room as my savior. I felt soft arms grab me, and pull me into a hug. "It's okay sweetie. Ricky told me all about you and I would love to be your friend" I heard Amy say.

Amy Lee wanted to he my friend? What the fuck?! This was the best day ever. I looked up, and saw Amy looking at me. I hugged her tightly, and said "thank you so much for saving my life" I saw tears in her eyes, and I heard her say "you're welcome sweetie. I love you so much. Even if I don't know you too well, I love all my fans. I would love to be friends with you. Ricky already gave me your number, so I'll text you later"

I smiled, and said "I'll see you on stage Amy" I saw her smile, and quickly say goodbye. I hugged Ricky as we walked towards the barricade. I turned to Ricky, and started slowing leaning in. Next thing, I knew our lips were placed on top of each other's. Our lip rings getting tangled in each other's. Nothing can ruin this moment. "Wow first kiss I'm assuming" I heard Amy's voice. "Yep it's out first kiss and I wouldn't have it any other way"

I smiled and looked towards Ricky; Ricky was smiling. Tonight was an amazing night! Turns out Ricky asked Amy to play all of my favorite songs, and I screamed my heart out to 'Going Under'! I ended up staying at Ricky's house that night, and that was the best night ever!
