The crush hasn’t changed BUT I was doing some tasks for my manager around the store yesterday, and I saw THE manager and she was standing with a new Team Lead for her department.

She saw me and asked if i was ready for my test, and i laughed and said “not in the slightest.” She laughed and said “you’ll do great.” And then proceeded to introduce me to the Team Lead and said “this is Emmalyne, she’s a very interesting person, just look at her jeep! She’s taking her ROI test tomorrow and she’s gonna be a bakery manager.”

I had to turn away bc my face was BRIGHT red from the compliments. And she used my full name instead of my nickname.

when nimona first shapeshifted in front of gloreth, gloreth was a little freaked out, but more just shocked, and then they went on being friends. it was only once gloreth’s parents told her that nimona is a horrible monster that she finally turned on her. this movie isn’t subtle in the least with its themes, but i like this part of the movie because it really shows just how imaginary and baseless (for lack of a better way to phrase this) the fear of monsters (i.e. trans people) in society is. children, like gloreth, when left alone without any societal influences, will be faced with this Other, Different thing and accept it, just go with it. befriend them.

gay holmes literally means so much to me as a lesbian. like growing up realizing i’m gay and feeling rejected in a lot of areas of my life but having these stories to depend on; it’s so healing to interpret holmes’ withdrawn, “bohemian” nature to be caused by the same feelings of rejection. and also ofc theres something about this little mf surviving decades and getting to grow old w/ his life partner in a time where society hated his existence and it’s like maybe i can get through fucking tuesday. maybe there’s hope for me and i like to think people like me thought that in 1895 too.

Remember when Toei reanimated Luffy and Zoro’s meeting for a flashback right before the peak of Zoro vs King, and in it they made the stylistic choice to gradually make the world brighter and brighter as Zoro makes his vow, in one long and beautiful shot framed to show the way Luffy’s perfectly reflected in Zoro’s eyes, to show that it’s him changing Zoro’s entire world and becoming the center of it. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang’s first time meeting is so sus to me now. This is all speculation of course but the way Lu Guang is acting really makes it seem like he knows Xiaoshi already. Like why was this man just standing right where Xiaoshi happened to be playing basketball? He doesn’t look like he ended up there on accident.

Why is Xiaoshi talking to Lu Guang like that? Dude you literally met 10 minutes ago and you’re already calling him your trustworthy partner.. 🤨

Also during a q&a with Director Li, someone asked what Xiaoshi was thinking during this scene and he answered that Xiaoshi felt Lu Guang was familiar even though he hadn’t met him before.

Then Lu Guang just so happens to be passing by the photo studio. He plays it off like it’s totally a coincidence but he’s looking at Xiaoshi all 🥺 before he turns around. Why is he looking at someone he barely knows with so much longing?? Maybe he’s just awkward but with all the other hints there’s probably more to it than that. Not to mention Qiao Ling saying it’s like Lu Guang just magically appeared in their lives one day.

I think Lu Guang definitely knew exactly where Xiaoshi would be and intentionally went to him. Who knows how many times he’s experienced their “first” meeting.
