I am back from Shabbat service.

It is still incredible to me that I am allowed to be there and sing and eat with the people there.

They increased their security measures (again) from when I was last there. Almost every time I was there, matters of safety were discussed. And still they let me, someone who isn't Jewish, be there in a time that must be terrifying and exhausting.

I never want to take that for granted. I love singing Ma Towu. I am kind of proud that I lost my place just once during this service. I love seeing faces of people I already know and people I don't know yet. I love hearing several languages there. I love collecting and putting the siddurim back because it feels like I am doing a very small thing to be helpful and show my appreciation. I love challah (it had poppy seeds today). I love that salt is put on it. I love saying Shabbat Shalom to people.
