I'm so scared of doctors. I have a few chronical diseases, not serious, but you better check them out every six months. Can't make myself do it. Let's meet at Last Twilight -Vice Versa-JimmySea emotional support group to cry about it
BUILDING A PILLOW FORT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM AND BRINGING OUT THE CHAMOMILE AND THE COOKIES AND THE CHOCOLATE SO WE CAN COMFORT EACH OTHER
im glad im not alone in this ;; and like. im sure there are great doctors out there….. somewhere……… but i personally had so many bad experiences with them that now even just the thought of having to see one sets off my anxiety pretty badly. it’s also the ridiculous amount of energies and time i need to waste to even get to see a doctor: endless hours on the phone to try to get an appointment for a spot that, if im lucky, is gonna be available only MONTHS later, and when the day finally comes i’ll STILL have to wait hours because they’re NEVER on time…….
i’ve reached a point where i’d rather keep feeling bad until i can’t take it anymore rather than going to a doctor, which isn’t good because health is the most important thing!!!!! taking care of ourselves should be our priority!!!!! and it’s not fair that we don’t feel comfortable doing that!!!!!
wish i could be there to hold your hand through it and offer my support, anon. let’s try to make it our new year’s resolution to do a full check up so we can be sure to be in our top form for when last twilight comes out!!!!

You were dreading this moment. You really, really didn't want to be here. The temptation to just turn and run away was so high. It would have been so easy to just leave and go home…but the shooting pain in your arm told you that was an even worse idea.
The hospital was big…so maybe you wouldn't see him at all. Right? Right. Or that's what you were hoping for. The odds really were slim to none and yet… Maybe you didn't even need to go to the ER. Maybe you could just call and schedule a regular appointment with your doctor…
"Fuck," you sighed heavily as you looked between the entrance and your car. You had to do it. There was no way you could get out of this one.
Trying to collect your remaining dignity, you walked into the hospital and up to the counter. The woman behind the screen looked at you for a moment, recognizing you but not quite placing it.
"I-I think I did something to my elbow," you explained, tears already welling up and threatening to run down your cheeks, "I fell and it's stuck at this weird angle and I couldn't move it. Every time I try it hurts so bad."
She peeks over the counter before noticing the odd placement of your left elbow, "oh dear. Well, we'll get you right in with the doctor. First, let me get your name please."
You nodded and told her your first name and hesitated for a moment. She waited for you to go on and you sighed before giving her your last name, "Harrington."
And…realization hit her. She knew exactly who you were. You, him, and the disgustingly cute story of how you'd met in that very ER were well known around the hospital. You gave her a sheepish smile as she scribbled a few things down, "go ahead and take a seat. I've got everything here, honey."
"Thank you," the older woman's gentleness already made you feel better, despite your current predicament, "and umm…could we not tell him yet? Or at least don't put me in his wing?"
"I'll do my best," she promised with a knowing wink. You nodded softly before padding over to one of the stiff plastic chairs, careful not to irritate your arm further.
A heavy, tired sigh escaped your lips as you closed your eyes for a few moments of solace from the piercing fluorescence of the hospital lights. A dumb little part of your brain even dreamed that maybe you'd get home without him knowing anything.
Doubtful.

"Well," the doctor, an older man with a calm aura - which did nothing to help your nerves - was almost silent as looked over your x-rays and studied the findings, "you've got yourself a dislocated elbow."
"No," you groaned as you looked at the ceiling. How could you be this clumsy and unlucky?
"Yes," he pointed at your arm, still stuck at an awkward angle as if to prove his point, "and that is nothing to scoff at."
"Umm, how do I fix it?" you asked softly, trying to ignore the throbbing, "can it be fixed?"
“Oh yes,” he seemed unphased by your question, as your panic had increased, “most of the time it can be corrected without surgery-”
“Without? S-so you mean you there’s a chance I would need surgery?” your lip trembled with effort as you tried to cry, “what are the odds?”
“The first thing I’m going to do is to try and set it back into place and then we’ll immobilize the arm for now,” he looked up at you for a moment and saw the distressed look on your features, “meaning you’ll be in a sling for some time. It’s imperative that you keep as still as possible for now. In a few weeks we’ll see how it’s setting and how your range of movement is. And onto physical therapy.”
“Physical therapy?” alright. This had to be some sort of cosmic joke. The last time you were in the ER was when you’d broken your ankle a few years ago. That had almost ended up with surgery and absolutely had required physical therapy, “oh.”
“It’ll be okay, Mrs. Harrington,” he insisted, “I’ve seen these before and while inconvenient, rest assured you’ll make a full recovery.”
“I-”
“I’ll send in the nurse and have them set you up with a sling and the dos and don’ts and talk to you about painkillers,” he gave you a pat on the opposite shoulder, “I’ll see you back in about two weeks. Any questions you have the nurse will be able to answer.”
“Okay,” you nodded and slumped your shoulders as you watched him go. Steve was going to lose his mind when he saw you, “fuck me.”
After a few minutes of terse silence, a few gentle knocks came at the door. You confirmed they could come in and regretted your decision as soon as you did. It wasn’t just any nurse that happened to be assigned to you. It was your husband.
“Steve?”
“Baby?”
“I-” he’d all but dropped your charts and came over to you, his hands finding your face as he studied you. He’d read over your chart to read the doctor’s diagnosis, but had neglected to read the name. Otherwise he would have known it was you. As soon as you looked in those big, soft eyes all the unshed tears rolled down your cheeks, “I-I fell.”
“Honey,” he closed his eyes and let out a small sigh, whether of stress or relief you weren’t sure. He tenderly brushed away your tears before placing a kiss to your forehead, “it’s okay. I know it hurts, but don’t cry…please. I’ll take care of you. I’ll make it better.”
“It hurts so bad, Stevie,” you wanted nothing but for him to wrap you up in his arms, but were also terrified of hurting your arm further, “I’m so stupid, ‘m sorry.”
“You’re not stupid and there’s nothing to be sorry for,” he gently shushed by putting a finger to your lips, “I’m glad you came in, okay? I know how stubborn you can get, my clumsy girl. But I’m here to take care of you.”
“I asked them not to send you,” you sniffled, laughing ever so softly as he shook his head in amusement. He tutted, but it was nothing but warm and affectionate, “didn’t want you to worry or panic.”
“It is my job to take care of you,” he insisted softly, “both here in a professional capacity and everywhere else as your husband and best friend. Will you tell me what happened, angel? How did you hurt yourself so badly?”
“You’re gonna laugh,” a pout settled on your pretty, soft lips and he couldn’t help but press a kiss to them, “it’s silly.”
“I won’t laugh,” he promised, “scout’s honor.”
“You were never a boy scout, Steve.”
“Still counts.”
“Does not-”
“You’re stalling,” he insisted, already guessing your little ployl, “just tell me what happened, baby.”
“I was in the backyard and I went to move one of the lounge chairs off the deck and one thing led to another and I lost my footing and slipped and tried to stop my fall with my hand and then hit my elbow and the thing I knew it was lots of pain and I couldn’t move my lower arm,” you replayed the events in your head and silently cringed at yourself, “and I came here.”
You looked up and found Steve’s brows knitted together as he kept his eyes on your chart. He was silent, but then you could see the subtle shake of his shoulders. You used your good hand and slapped his arm, “Steve Harrington, you’re laughing! Don’t laugh at me, you said you wouldn’t!”
“Honey, honey, honey,” he took your hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze, “I’m not laughing at you…I’m just amused by the situation.”
“You wouldn’t be laughing at another patient!”
“Other patients aren’t my wife,” he put a finger under your chin and turned your face up to meet his, “and I love you more than anything, so it’s affectionate teasing.”
“You’re lucky I love you,” you huffed, but there was no malice behind your voice, “now make it better…please.”
“I will,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to your cheek, “I promise I’ll make it better, sweetheart.”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“Ugh,” you sighed for what felt like the millionth time as you tried to move around to get comfortable. You were exhausted - tired and worn out from your accident and the excitement of the day, but sleep had proven to be elusive. The worst part of all, there were only certain ways you could lie down to keep your arm still and without causing too much pain. None of the positions were working. Steve was lying in bed next to you, attempting to read but you were sure he wasn’t doing much reading from all your huffing and puffing. You turned your head and gave him an apologetic look, “sorry Stevie.”
“It’s okay,” he promised as he dog-eared his page and snapped his book shut, setting it on the nightstand, “I know it’s difficult to adjust to, baby. Let me try and help.”
“This sucks,” you huffed before looking over at him, both of you breaking into a fit of giggles, “I’m never doing anything else again for myself. It’s proven to be a bad idea.”
“I’d say the broken ankle worked out pretty well,” he grinned as you looked at him in confusion, “more or less. I got to meet the girl of my dreams right there in the ER.”
“And to think, if I hadn’t broken my ankle we’d have never met,” you said, touching his cheek with your good hand and giving him a soft smile, “the injury sucked, but the man I got out of it is pretty amazing.”
“Who knows,” he shrugged with a small smile, “maybe something good will come out of this too. You’ll just have to get better first. That means listening to me and taking it easy and -”
“Asking for help,” you finished softly, “I will, Steve. I will. But I have a request for when this mess is all healed…”
“Go on, I’m curious now…”
“Can we get a dog?” you asked with wide, curious eyes as his face softened. Of course you would use this for something like this. Truth was, he wanted a dog too, but it just never had been the right time, maybe now that dream would come true, “pretty please, Stevie?”
“We’ll see,” he promised and you could tell what he meant, which only caused your smile to grow, “we’re focusing on you first.”
“Fine,” you agreed happily, “but right now I just want to sleep.”
“C’mere,” he got out of bed and came over to your side, gently helping to move to the side he occupied just moments earlier. It was warm and smelled like him, which was immediately comforting. He adjusted your pillows and fluffed them, making it so you could lie on your side, but keeping your elbow propped up so you wouldn’t jostle or hurt it, “better?”
“Much,” you agreed as he slid into bed next to you, “and now I can sleep facing you. That makes me feel better.”
“Me too,” he promised softly, “plus, the view’s pretty fucking stunning.”
“Steve,” you playfully chided him, “I look and feel like a mess!”
“A beautiful, wonderful, amazing mess,” he joked, “that I love so very much. I promise it’ll be okay, angel. I’ll take care of you, yeah?”
“Yeah,” you leaned in as much as you could and he met you halfway, kissing you softly and gently, “I love you so much, Steve Harrington. You’re my savior, I swear.”
“I love you, clumsy girl,” he whispered against your lips, “I’ll always take care of you. I swear it.”

heyy i love your fics, like actually you have talent but anyways i have a really specific request so... can you please write something really fluffy where y/n is scared of needles, like she litterally can faint. so she has to go to the doctor (like get vaccine or something) and shes so anxious and afraid and she asks matt (you choose if they are dating or just friends yet) to drive her there and he agrees. she is trying to keep her cool but when she sees the needle and realizing what is going to happed she gets really stressed and like start to panic and matt try and calm her down? can you do it please? also i ADORE youre song fics.
Tumblr media
NEEDLES matt sturniolo
summary: Matt goes with you to your dreaded appointment
genre: fluff!
cw!: needles!!!!!
a/n: hi love ty sm for requesting, i’m sorry if it isn’t exactly what you asked for? but i hope you like it, i am also deadly afraid of needles so this was hard to get through😭 (and i really really appreciate you like my song fics<3)
“Matt can we please reschedule the appointment please” I begged, tugging on his arm as he took a can of soda out the fridge.
“I’m sorry, baby, but you already postponed like, 3 times, plus i’ll be right there with you, okay?” He said before opening the can and sipping, then placing it on the counter, diverting his attention to his distressed girlfriend
“everything is going to be fine, we’ll go shopping after, get some food, whatever you want” He cupped my face as he tried to convince me not to fret, reassuring me that, despite my persistent stubbornness and fear of needles, I would be completely fine. I somewhat believed his words, although I think that thats just the effect of Matt being Matt.
I sighed and dropped my head to the crook of his neck.
“I don’t know, I’m just nervous, I know it’s stupid” I mumbled, my muffled words being hard to understand.
“Hey, look at me” He gently held my chin up as a slight pout formed on my face, earning a small grin from him.
“I’m going to be there, it’s just a small moment, nothing more” His words repeated like a mantra in my brain “a small moment, nothing more” I hoped it was just that, an instance.
I never knew why I was cursed with the fear of needles, I just was, ever since I was a little kid, the mindset kind of just stayed with me throughout all my life.
That night I slept uneasy, In Matt’s arms, which helped my situation slightly.
……
I cursed under my breath as the moment came, sat in Matt’s car, googling all the posible breathing techniques, anything that could take my mind off it just a little.
My grip on Matt’s hand became more and more tensed as we got out of the car and approached the doctor, I felt my heartbeats in my throat, and Matt sensed the discomfort in my steps.
“hey, I promise it’s okay” He whispered in my ear, placing a petal kiss on the crown of my head. I took a deep breath, and nodded, before stepping into the dreadful room where I hadn’t been for a long time.
As I sat down on the chair, I felt the heat rise to my whole body, making my hands sweaty, despite it being the middle of winter.
The nurse was friendly enough, I think I would’ve thought she was nicer if she wasn’t going to be actively piercing my skin with a needle.
“okay sweetheart, it’ll just be a pinch” She smiled at me, giving me the kind of comfort you get when an elderly woman smiled at you on the street. That helped distract me for approximately 5 seconds, before returning to taking deep breaths.
“Look at me, don’t look at your arm” Matt cautioned me, fighting to meet my gaze as I looked concerned at the lovely nurse disinfecting the spot that would later be punctured. (dramatic asf)
I hesitantly looked at him, founding some sort of consolation within the familiar smile. I decided to start tracing every detail with my eyes, trying to let my mind wander somehow.
I was enjoying finding new spots and freckles, curves, specs in his eyes, new things to admire . As absurd as it sounds, it surprisingly distracted me enough. My breath hitched and I winced, but when the needle finally made contact with my skin, and came out, it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated.
“Well done my love” He congratulated me, rolling my eyes at the embarrassment of being celebrated like a little baby, and to be fair, I did act like that, but I was enjoying the treatment.
Before getting into the car, he kissed me, wrapping his arms around my waist, leaning against the hood of the car.
“Thank you for putting up with me being a scaredy cat” I mumbled, leaning my head against his chest.
“I’m happy to do so, and I’m keeping my promise on taking you out for lunch and shopping” He grinned at me as a smile started forming on my face, knowing there was no point on trying to convince him not to buy my all these fancy things, he’s too stubborn.
He opened the car door for me and put on my seatbelt, insisting that I don’t move my arm for 2-5 business days, even though the shot was on my non dominant hand. Who am I to decline this princess treatment?

Hidden Secrets, Part Two.
wait I can’t believe you guys actually like part one (read that here) I was so insecure about posting it. I’m glad, I’m so glad. Everyone was asking for Bakugo’s suffering so here it is…
READ PART THREE HERE
warnings: I won’t even lie to you all, I have father problems, so this writing hit a little close to home. if in any way you think it’ll hurt or upset you, please don’t read any further okay? mentions of cheating and sex too. also there is some momo slander. I am so sorry.
Tumblr media
It was as if the entire world stopped spinning for a second. Kirishima took a step in front of you and Haru, standing chest to chest with Bakugo. Bakugo glared at him, before looking at you. Every ounce of anger you felt towards him began bubbling up. There was so much you wanted to say. So much you wanted to scream at him. You couldn’t yet though, not in front of Haru.
“Kirishima, will you take Haru to your office? I know how excited he has been to see it since the renovation,” You forced a smile, and looked at your son who’s middle brow was creased, which was a for sure sign he was worrying about something, “It’s alright Ru, I will come meet you in there soon,”
“Yeah, come on little monster, I have a huge TV in there now!” Kirishima’s tone did not match the glare on his face, “The conference room is open you two,”
“Thank you Ei, have fun sweetheart,” Haru released himself from you, and let Kirishima take him. He perked his head back over Kirishima’s shoulder and gave you a small wave with his tiny little hand. You forced another smile and waved back, before turning around to face your ex boyfriend. His face was still frozen in shock, as he watched his old best friend walk off with the tiny little human.
“Please tell me what the fuck-”
“Go to the conference room, now.” You snapped and stomped away from him. Bakugo followed after, the boots of his hero costume echoing on the floor of the lobby. He clicked the door behind him as soon as he was in the same room as you.
“So did you just plan on never fucking telling me I had a kid?!” Bakugo yelled, his voice echoing. You turned around and glared at him, “When the fuck did you even find out you were pregnant?”
“Oh, I found out a few days before I found out you were cheating on me,” You laughed dryly, “I was going to tell you that night, but I got a little side tracked,”
“Bullshit absolute bullshit, you should have told me!” Bakugo yelled, not backing down, “Four fucking years! Four!”
“Cut the bullshit Bakugo, I came to your office two weeks before he was born, I ran into Momo and she said you would call me, that night I get a simple text that says you wanted nothing to do with him,” You yelled, jabbing a finger into his chest, “Then you just mysteriously move away with Momo, and no one hears from you, and now you are in Kirishima’s office demanding to know things?!”
“What the fuck are you talk about?! What text?!” Bakugo yelled, grabbing your hand and moving it away from him, “I just found out about the kid today! You still haven’t even confirmed that he was mine?!”
“Take one fucking look at him and tell me he isn’t yours, the only thing that even convinced me he might be from some magical conception is that he is so sensitive and caring!”
“(Y/N) what fucking messages? We haven’t talked since the night you left?” Bakugo’s voice lowered, “I promise you, if I would have known about him I would have, I would have-”
“What? Come back to me? Be with me?” Your voice was monotone and cold, he felt like he was talking to a stranger. A stranger that hates him.
“I mean, yeah maybe, or at least I would’ve been there for his first steps, words, breath, just anything,” Bakugo’s anger was subsiding for the first time in years, “Momo, that day, I know what you’re talking about, because she told me that her and I would never be happy as long as we were here,”
“Oh wow, so the person who you cheated on me with was also a liar, what a shock,” You scoffed, “Sorry, I’m sorry, I heard about her and Todoroki, and their affair,”
Bakugo paused for a second, shocked by your apology. Also by the fact that you even knew. It wasn’t public knowledge yet, considering it just happened two weeks ago. That was the one reason Kirishima was even acknowledging his presence again. He was the one who found them together, and despite his anger towards him, at one point Bakugo was his best friend. So he called him, told him to come to the bar he was at. When Bakugo got there, he found Momo practically on top of Todoroki. A poor, still oblivious, Todoroki who was convinced that Momo had left Bakugo. That she had called off their two year engagement.
“I didn’t realize Kirishima told you, still don’t know how he failed to mention my son-”
“Hey, don’t do that okay? Be mad at me for not trying harder, but don’t be mad at Kirishima, he knew if he would have said anything he wouldn’t have been able to see Haru anymore,” You sat down in one of the chairs, “To be honest, I had just planned on you never finding out,”
“That isn’t fair (Y/n), he is my son.” Bakugo’s tone of voice was frustrated and angry. He didn’t want to be mad at you, he knew he couldn’t be mad at you.
“No, he is my son, mine, I’ve done everything, I was there for all of the bruises and scratches, for when he got into my hair gel to try and make himself look like Kirishima, for his birthdays and Christmases, you weren’t there,” You snapped, “Sharing his genetics does not make him your son,”
“No but you don’t get to hold this shit against me, it wasn’t my fault,” Bakugo fired back.
“You’re the one who fucked her,” You sneered. Standing up again, running your hand through your hair, “You cheated on me with her, you chose her over me, you don’t get to be the victim here either, I don’t even get to be the victim, the only person who deserves to even act like the victim is my son,”
“I’m here now, I know now, and I want nothing more but than to get to know him,” Bakugo looked at you with pleading eyes, “To be apart of his life, of your life,”
“I don’t know, I can’t just tell him that you’re his dad, he has been asking for the past year, and he has so much more going on already,” You laughed, “He doesn’t have his quirk yet, it’s becoming evident that he might not ever have his quirk, so how do I tell him that his dad is the number one hero, and a person he idolizes?”
“So you’ve faulted me because my ex fiancé was a psychopath who didn’t think I needed to know about my son, and now because I’m the number one hero- wait, he doesn’t have his quirk?”
“No, no he doesn’t, that’s why we are in town, for Denki and Hitoshi’s wedding, and to see a doctor,” You explained, the tears finally spilling over, “I can’t just dump this on him too Bakugo, please, you have to understand,”
“I do, okay I do, but please I can’t just let you walk away today with him and not do anything, I have to know him, but I don’t want to make this a problem bigger than it needs to be,” Bakugo grabbed your shoulders, “Please don’t make me villain here, okay I don’t want to be,”
“As much as I want to, I can’t, I know I can’t it wouldn’t be fair to him,” You grabbed his hands off your shoulders and held them for a second, a small sob threatening to escape your throat, “But please don’t take him from me, he’s all I have,”
Bakugo stopped and tightened his grip on your hands. Forcing you to look up at him. His eyebrows were creased, furrowed up exactly like Haru’s always did. The same look of concern Haru’s always had on his face when you said something close to sad.
“I wouldn’t think about taking him away, so get that shitty ass thought out of your head right now,” Bakugo sighed, “He doesn’t even have to know I’m his father right now, not until your ready, but I would like to be your friend, your friend that comes around him, your friend that he gets to know like he knows Kirishima,”
“Okay, okay,” You mumbled, nodding your head, “You can pick us up and take us to his doctor’s appointment, then we can all go out with Kirishima after so he feels more comfortable, we can start there,”
“Okay, let’s start there,” Bakugo let go of your hands slowly, “Does he you know like anything?”
“Yes, Bakugo he likes things, heroes specifically, are you going to blow up this office if I say Deku is his favorite?” You wiped the tears off your face, and finally bust out laughing at Bakugo’s groan that followed, “I’m going to grab Haru, I’ll have Kirishima send you my number okay?”
“Okay, thank you, let me know about the doctors thing.”
You gave him a small nod and walked out of the room. Stopping the bathroom to rinse off the tears. When you opened up the door to Kirishima’s office, you found Haru staring at the large tv completely awe struck by the footage of Midoriya fighting alongside Bakugo. One of their earlier fights, they were just barely pros. You remembered it because that was when he and Shinso agreed to work together. That was the fight that introduced you to him.
— a few days later
“Momma, you’re doing your upset walk,” Haru whispered, as if he was telling some kind of secret. Shinso snorted into his coffee, and earned him self a dirty look from you.
“Your mother is just nervous over seeing her friend small human,” Shinso called you out, and earned another dirty look.
“Momma is friends with Dynamight, Uncle Toshi! She has even met Deku!” Haru’s eyes were sparkling as he said it, waving around his Deku plushie.
“You know, I’ve worked with Deku before, almost beat him-”
“In the sports festival, yes Uncle Toshi we knowwww,” Haru groaned, having heard the story at least fifty time. It was your turn to laugh. Haru loved Shinso, but when it came to his favorite heroes, being ranked under his own fiancé was a bit of a sting.. So poor Shinso tries to impress the kid every chance he can.
“You’ve told him the story at least ten times,” You backed up your son, shrugging your shoulders.
“You know, I was in the room when you came into this world little man, I deserve some props as a hero,” Shinso groaned, and Haru just laughed, taking another bite of his cereal.
“I know, but you’re a hero like you know a dad would be,” Haru said casually and both of you froze. He was trying so desperately to figure out what it meant to have a Dad. The last time Kirishima came to visit, he had even asked him if he was his dad because of their red eyes, and how Kirishima is always there for his big moments. Then he asked you if Shinso was his dad, because they both liked cats.
“Haru, our ride is here, we better go outside okay?” You smiled, changing the subject, “Give Toshi a hug!”
Haru jumped down and gave Shinso a quick hug. You grabbed your things, and your files about Haru’s past doctor’s appointments. After he grabbed his backpack you walked over and kissed Shinso’s cheeks, mouthing a quick apology. He waved you off.
“Let me know how it goes,” He smiled, and you knew he wasn’t just talking about the doctors appointment.
You picked up Haru and carried him outside. Bakugo waved at you both, and Haru hid his face again. Although he was excited to get to meet one of his heroes, he was also terrified. Bakugo pouted a little bit, and you gave him a small glare. He straightened up and forced a smile.
“I just need to grab his seat!” You forced a smile, trying to avoid how awkward this was. Bakugo shook his head.
“Nope, I bought one, it’s got all the things,” Bakugo sounded proud of himself, you raised an eyebrow but walked towards his car. He opened the door and you saw a seat, one of the ones with a cup holder, and in it was a collectible Deku doll that Haru had wanted for months. Along with a signed picture of him.
“Haru, look,” You whispered, making sure to tell Bakugo later that he can’t just buy his love. Haru’s face lit up though, and he quickly jumped down out of your arms. He grabbed the doll and picture, looking at you with wide eyes.
“Thank you Mr. Dynamight sir!” Haru grinned, before climbing in his seat so you could buckle him in. Bakugo stood behind you, and you could practically feel the grin radiating off of him.
“Call me Katsuki kid, all of my friends do,” Bakugo smiled, and got in the drivers seat. You walked over to the other side, and climbed into the passenger seat.
The ride was quiet, just the sounds of Haru playing with his new toy in the background. Neither you or Bakugo knew what to say to one another. So you just sat in comfortable silence, looking through Haru’s main doctor’s notes. Then Haru needed to blow his nose, and out of habit you opened up the glove box to grab a tissue as if you were in your own car. Inside it though you found Bakugo’s necklace that had matched yours, that you gave back to him when you left. You grabbed a tissue and handed it back to Haru.
“Yours is hanging up on the rearview mirror of my other car,” Bakugo mumbled, his eyes not leaving the road. You studied the side of his face, just nodding in response. It was odd that after all of this time he still had that dumb thing. You two had gotten them on your fourth time of hanging out, he had found them at a festival he made some appearance at. They were cheap, but you both wore them all of the time. The necklaces meant something to both of you, the day you took yours off was the day you knew it was over.
The rest of the ride felt tense. You felt silly over thinking the necklace. You figured he would have thrown them away at this point. When you finally got to the hospital, Bakugo went and found a parking spot. He went to walk in with you two but you shook your head.
“I’m not ready for the rumors to start surrounding Haru, so would you mind just hanging out here?” You whispered.
“Oh, yeah no you’re right, I’ll be here,” Bakugo nodded his head, looking a little disappointed. You climbed out of the car and grabbed Haru, who waved a tiny hand at Bakugo as the two of you walked towards the entrance.
You weren’t in the waiting room for long till you were called into the exam room. They did a few X-rays, and tests, on Haru. Then after about an hour you were sitting in the Doctor’s office as Haru played with his toys on the floor. The doctor say down across from you and showed you all of the test results.
“Well the good news is, Haru will most definitely have a quirk, his body is already adjusted to what his quirk would be,” The doctor smiled, “I’m guessing his father’s quirk has something to do with nitroglycerin?”
“Uh well we don’t actually know much about his father,” You lied, knowing Haru was paying attention now.
“Well Haru has high levels of it in his sweat glands according to the tests, but my only concern is that I think he has some kind of mental block keeping him from using his quirk,” The doctor explained, “You’re quirkless correct?”
“Uh yes sir, I am,” You nodded your head. Haru walked over to you and grabbed your hand. So you put him in your lap.
“Maybe he just won’t use his quirk because he doesn’t want to be different from you, since you are his sole provider,”
“No that’s not it,” Haru interrupted and you both looked at him, “It’s not Mommy’s fault, I just want to use my quirk when Dad comes back for us,”
You felt your heart break into a million pieces.
“Haru sweetie, have you known about your quirk?” You whispered, and he nodded his head sadly.
“I accidentally blew up Mira’s doll at the playground, but made her promise to not tell her parents so you wouldn’t know,” Haru hung his head, and avoided eye contact. Like he did whenever he thought he was going to be in trouble.
“Haru you could’ve told me, then we wouldn’t have had to do all these tests, why didn’t you-”
“I just wanted dad to be the one to help me,” Haru cut you off again, his eyes watering. You let out a sigh and pulled him closer to you. The doctor nodded his head, smiling softly at you.
The two of you walked out to the car again. Bakugo’s head perked up at the sight of you both. He jumped out of the car and opened the door for you to put Haru in. Bakugo raised an eyebrow at the sad look on his face, and then looked at you.
“Tell me he has his quirk? Or at least a hope of one?” Bakugo asked, and you closed Haru’s door. Glaring at Bakugo, before walking over to your door. You climbed in the car and didn’t say a word until you got the park where Kirishima was meeting you guys.
“Hey, Haru why don’t you go with Uncle Ei and play while I talk to Katsuki?” You smiled at Haru, who climbed out of his seat and went to Kirishima who had opened the door for him. Kirishima closed the door and walked away with Haru. Bakugo looked towards you with a raised eyebrow.
“Why did you do it?” You whispered and Bakugo just looked even more confused, “Why did you fuck all of this up?”
“What do you mean?” Bakugo’s tone was proof enough that he was annoyed. Not necessarily at you, but more so at the fact he could see Kirishima playing with his son so effortlessly.
“Cheat on me, leave me alone to raise him, leave him confused and upset because all he wanted was his dad,” Your eyes started water, tears threatening to spill over. Bakugo turned his head back towards you, your words stinging a little bit.
“I didn’t leave you alone, I didn’t know.” His voice was stern, “You can’t make me out to be the dead beat father in this situation (Y/n) I would have been there for him if I would have known he was alive,”
You let out a sigh of defeat, making eye contact with him. Bakugo felt his heart break at the look in your eyes. You looked.. Defeated.
“I know, I know it’s my fault okay?” You whispered, “I should have never kept him from you, I should have told you I was pregnant but I was selfish, and hurt, and-”
You were sobbing now. Your words falling off. Bakugo unbuckled your seat belt, and pulled you over the center console so you were sitting on him. He hugged you, tightly. Letting you let out every single sob, as he rubbed your back. You cling onto his shirt as you buried your face in his shoulder.
“I know why you were mad, and I don’t blame you but (Y/n), I would have been there for you both if I would have know,” He whispered against you, you pulled your head back and looked at him.
“I know, and I’m sorry, I still hate what you did to me, to our relationship, but Haru deserves to know his father,” You sighed, Bakugo reached up and wiped some of the stray make up on your face.
“So we’ll tell him?” He smiled hopefully, and you nodded.
“Eventually, eventually we will tell him, but for now I just want you to get to know him, ease him into it,” His smile faded a little but he knew you were right.
Bakugo stared at you and it settled in for him that it was never Momo. It was never once her for him, it was you. Back then, he was too scared to let himself admit it. Despite how long you two had been together when his affair with Momo started, he was scared. Scared of how much he could love a single person. Then he felt guilty because he had no reason to have that fear. He grew up watching his parents have that kind of love. It was his own selfish mindset that pushed him to that decision.. That pushed him to losing you.
You crawled back into your seat, flipping the visor down. Bakugo watched as you wiped the make up off your face. You turned back to look at him, smiling a little.
"I have a proposition for you, if you want to spend more time with him?" Your voice sounded a little nervous, and Bakugo grinned a little nodding his head, "Go to the wedding with us to the wedding? I mean you and Denki were friends right?"
"Are you sure? I mean I know how all of them must feel about me?" Bakugo laughed a little, and you shook your head looking back at Haru and Kirishima.
"They all love Ru, so much, so I think they will understand why I want you there, and besides Hitoshi does nothing but tell me to get back in the dating game," You rolled your eyes, and Bakugo laughed at you a little bit.
"How long has it been since you've been on a date if Dead Eyes is making jokes about it?" Bakugo was half teasing, and half curious what the answer was.
"Oh don't you start asshole, I have been raising our kid," You laughed, a genuine laugh. A laugh that made Bakugo's heart do some kind of internal flip. He smiled softly at you.
"You said our kid," He whispered, and you blushed a little.
"Our kid who is staring in here trying to figure out what's wrong," You laughed, pointing towards Haru who now had an adorable pout on his face. You climbed out of the car and ran towards him, picking him up and spinning him all crazy like. Bakugo smiled as he watched you two together. Realizing that all he ever wanted in life was right here, and in his reach again.

Can I ask you for writing Spencer losing his hair a lot and panicking about this, please? of course if you want to and are comfortable with that :)
Spencer starts to notice his hair falling out when he's left with handfuls of it after every shower, and he panics.
He thinks it could be stress - he's certainly been through a lot recently. Who is he kidding - he's almost always "been through a lot recently." Sometimes it feels like it never ends.
He thinks it could be grief - sure, he never met Maeve in person, but they talked regularly for the best part of a year. He loved her. And he failed her, and that failure got her killed.
He thinks it could be something else - something with his health, maybe, although he can't really tell if he's feeling more terrible than usual. A certain level of terrible is just always there, and he's gotten used to it by this point.
Instead of reaching out to a friend or going to a therapist or a doctor, he decides to do the easiest, albeit least logical, thing that he can.
He stops washing his hair.
It gets messier and messier every day, and he's sure that his teammates can tell how greasy it is. And it's embarrassing - humiliating, even - but it's still better than seeing it collect at the end of his shower, being faced with the reality of what's happening to him.
Alex is the one who finally asks him about it.
"Spencer, how are you doing?" she asks one afternoon when they're alone in the bullpen. "I mean, for real."
"I don't know," Spencer mumbles. "I'm trying to be fine."
"You don't have to do that."
"Don't I?"
Alex changes gears. "I don't mean to put my nose into something that's not my business, but... Spencer, your hair--"
"I can't-- I can't wash it," Spencer sighs, the words just spilling out. "It's falling out. It falls out when I wash it. There's so much. I don't know what to do."
"Have you spoken to anyone about this?"
Spencer shakes his head, staring at the floor. "Just you."
"If I made you an appointment with a doctor, would you be willing to go? To try to find out what's going on?"
"Would you go with me?" Spencer asks shyly. "Otherwise, I think I'd just freak out at the last minute and bail."
"Of course," Alex promises.
She keeps that promise, accompanying him to the doctor and then to get blood tests done, to see if there's something physically wrong with him.
While they wait for the results, she cuts his hair for him to make it more manageable. She helps him into the shower.
When he gets the results, it turns out to be a vitamin deficiency - something easily remedied. Something solvable.
Alex helps him get his supplements, and she helps him find a therapist to help him through the grief that's clearly eating him up inside, despite that not being the reason for his hair loss.
She helps him with everything, and he loves her for that.

For the second day of @jonmartinweek, mostly for the prompt "injury", though also a little bit "love confession" (by omission).
Set directly after episode 92. Content warnings for mild descriptions of Jon’s canonical injuries (blood, burns).
*
Things are...tense, when they go back down to the Archives. Actually, “tense” is probably an understatement, after finding out that Elias murdered not only Gertrude Robinson, but also the unknown man in Document Storage—who as it turned out was none other than Juergen bloody Leitner.
A lot to take on board, all in all.
Basira seems to have accepted her new employment status with eerie calm, and starts setting up at Sasha’s old desk (oh god, Sasha’s dead, has been for months), fetching notebooks and folders from the stationery cupboard and arranging pens and highlighters in a desk tidy. Daisy is nowhere to be seen—thankfully, Martin thinks, because she was even scarier than usual in Elias’ office. Melanie storms off into the stacks and there are sounds of shouting and things hitting the floor, which Martin is in no hurry to investigate. Tim sits at his desk with his feet propped up for about five minutes, then stands up and says: “Fuck this, I’m off to the pub.” He doesn’t invite anyone else to go with him, and Martin thinks their presence probably wouldn’t be welcome.
Jon arrives in about half an hour later, smelling of fresh cigarette smoke. Normally Martin would disapprove, but the way things are right now he’s tempted to take up a few bad habits himself. Jon looks...exhausted, defeated, his shoulders slumped wearily. His clothes are smudged with dirt, and there’s drying blood crusted around the injury on his neck; the bandages on his hand are starting to slip, revealing the angry, raw burns beneath.
Martin’s not sure he’s ever been so happy to see someone in his life.
Jon gives him a small, tired smile as he passes, then heads into his office and shuts the door. Martin knows that no sane person would try to go straight back to work looking like they’d just been through a war zone and still with an open wound; he is also aware that Jonathan Sims is the sort of person to do precisely that. He hesitates for a few moments, then makes a decision.
He fetches the first aid kit from the break room, and goes and knocks on Jon’s door. It’s a firm knock, a knock that he hopes says “I’m coming in whether you like it or not”, because it’s not beyond Jon to try to avoid them all for an extended period.
“Come in,” Jon calls, and even his voice sounds exhausted. When he sees Martin enter the room, his expression softens in a way that’s difficult to parse. Is he just relieved that it isn’t one of the others? Or is he actually pleased that it’s Martin?
It’s been two months since Jon went into hiding while suspected of murder, and the last time Martin saw him he had been quite sure Jon was planning to—to hurt himself, somehow. Before that, though, there had been a time when they were...well, close, in a way. Jon had let his guard down around Martin, in the midst of being so suspicious and afraid. He had trusted Martin, when he didn’t trust anyone else, had eaten lunch with him and talked about boring, ordinary things, the tight set of his shoulders relaxing just a little. He had even laughed, sometimes. It had been, despite everything, one of the happier times in Martin’s life, and if that’s not pathetic he doesn’t know what is.
“Hi, Jon,” he says.
“Martin,” says Jon, his tone soft. “It’s so—ahh, how are you?”
“How am I? You’re the one with a bloody great gash in your neck and looking like you put your hand in a fire.” Martin brandishes the first aid kit. “You really should go to the hospital, but I know it would be a waste of my time suggesting it.”
“Thank you for bringing that,” Jon says. “I appreciate it. You can just leave it on the desk.”
“Nope,” Martin tells him cheerily, setting the kit down and opening it. “I know you, Jon. If I leave it with you it’ll still be sitting here untouched tomorrow. Plus, I got my first aid certification when I was working in the library. It’s probably expired now, but I think it still counts.”
Jon looks as if he’s about to protest, but then he huffs a breath that might be a laugh, and nods in concession.
“All right then,” he says.
Martin snaps on a pair of disposable gloves and directs Jon to sit on the desk and undo the top two buttons on his shirt, so Martin can examine the wound on his neck. It’s shallow, fortunately, and the bleeding seems to have already stopped. Martin cleans away the crusted blood as gently as he can, though Jon still winces a few times.
“What happened?” Martin asks, as he smears on antibiotic cream.
“Daisy. She, ah, she decided that I was dangerous. Needed to be dealt with. Fortunately Basira was able to convince her otherwise.”
“Bloody hell,” Martin mutters. He’s not sure why he’s surprised; he’s always felt afraid around Daisy, like a rabbit being in the same room with a fox. But he just sort of assumed it was typical Martin fear of, well, everything. He never thought Daisy would actually hurt any of them. He applies a bandage carefully over the wound, and then turns his attention to Jon’s hand. Unwrapping the bandages reveals the red, blistered mess beneath, and Martin hisses in sympathy.
“Please tell me you went to the hospital for this.”
“I went to a walk-in clinic,” Jon says. “They cleaned it up, gave me some antibiotics and painkillers. They, uh, they did recommend I see my GP for follow up monitoring, and that I should get a referral to a physiotherapist, but, well, it’s been a busy few days.”
“Jon,” Martin sighs, exasperated, and Jon smiles a bit shakily.
“I know,” he says. “I will go to a GP, I promise. It’s just a bit tricky when you’re wanted for murder. Anyway, it seems to be healing rather well, all things considered.”
Martin considers whether to apply antibiotic cream, but the skin doesn’t seem to be broken, and he knows it’s best not to touch the area more than needed. Instead, he rewraps it with clean, dry bandages, being sure to keep them loose.
“How did this happen?” he asks, to distract himself from the fact that he is, technically, holding Jon’s hand. Jon gives a self-deprecating laugh.
“I, uh, I was trying to get information from a devotee of the Lightless Flame. This was her price.”
“The Lightless Flame? That cult—from the statements?”
“The same. As it turns out, a—a lot of things from the statements are real. Unpleasantly so.”
“I—yeah, I sort of figured that out when Tim and I got trapped in these weird corridors for days by that Michael...thing.”
Jon’s face blanches, his brows furrowing.
“You—god, Martin, I didn’t know. Are you—I mean, you’re okay, obviously, but— Have you seen Michael since?”
“No, and I hope I don’t.” Martin feels faintly nauseous at the memory. He doesn’t realize his hands are trembling slightly until the fingers of Jon’s hand, the unburned one, touch his wrist.
“I’m so sorry, Martin,” he says. “When I realized a-about Sasha, about that thing, I hoped I could take care of it myself, spare you and Tim. I never wanted to drag you into all this.”
“I don’t think there’s much avoiding it,” Martin mutters miserably. “And you didn’t seem to mind dragging Melanie into it, while you were on the lam.”
“I shouldn’t have asked her for help either. It wasn’t fair to put any of you in the position of aiding a suspected murderer.”
“I never believed you did it,” Martin tells him fiercely. “It just would have been nice to know you were okay, you know?”
“I know, and I’m sorry. I—I wanted to contact you, but it seemed too risky. I knew the police would be watching you, since we’re friends. Or—or at least friendly.”
Everyone I’ve talked to says you and him were close. Martin had been ridiculously pleased by the accusation at the time, and he feels the same now, with Jon’s injured hand cradled in both of his. Jon trusts Martin with his wounds, his vulnerability. Jon wanted to contact him; Jon thinks they’re friends.
“I—” Martin starts to say, and he doesn’t know if his next words will be I missed you or I worry about you or some humiliating romantic confession blurted out and impossible to take back. He draws a deep breath, and instead says: “I’m glad you’re back, and that you’re okay. I don’t have that many friends, I can’t afford to lose one.”
He says it like a joke, and mercifully, Jon takes it as one, and gives a relieved laugh. Martin realizes he’s long since finished bandaging the burn and is now just sort of...holding Jon’s hand; he releases it, reluctantly, and Jon smiles, lifting his other hand to touch the bandage on his throat.
“Thank you, Martin,” he says, hopping down from the desk. “I appreciate it, really.”
“As a token of your appreciation, you can go ahead and make a doctor’s appointment for that hand,” says Martin firmly, closing up the first aid kit.
“I will,” Jon says solemnly, and Martin believes him, but he’s also going to check in and remind him at the end of the day because Jon has a tendency to forget about trivial things like his own wellbeing. It’s just who he is, and Martin’s made his peace with it, like he’s made his peace with being utterly, hopelessly gone for Jonathan Sims.
“I was going to make some tea, if you fancy,” he says as he opens the door. “You look like you could use a cup.”
“Oh, yes, that would be lovely, thank you. Oh, and Martin?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m glad I’m back as well. I—” Jon hesitates a moment, then says: “I missed your tea.”
It’s not much of a declaration, but Martin understands what Jon means by it; for the two of them, it means a lot.

#5B52AD | NA JAEMIN. NCT DREAM.
genre | fluff, friendship
word count | 2835
warning | a fever, mention of pain
note | i got kind of sick after my first dose of vaccine and i think about is my mother used to sit and rub my tummy whenever i get tummy ache even when it’s 3am.
Tumblr media
your body felt heavy, you could not walk without an awkward arch of your back and at an annoyingly slow pace. you haven't gotten a migraine in so long that the gentle ringing in the back of your head now felt like a gradual decomposing of your brain. your tummy gurgled obnoxiously from time to time, confusing your body and mind with hunger and pain.
long story short, you were sick. you got sick, unfortunately, after a streak of good health for the past years, and you barely knew how to take care of yourself now because of how unusual the occurrence was.
you suspected it was the pouring rain you walked under the other day, or the multiple cold nights you've stood through in the unorganized tent area backstage during award shows this past few weeks. either way, since there weren't any other possible reasons, bad weather was the only thing you could blame your sickness on.
you had contacted the team manager about taking a few days off, leisurely estimating your return date while the manager told you to take your time and make sure to only work once you have fully recovered to avoid spreading your sudden fever to the dreamies when you get back. another thing you also asked of, with more grit and firmness this time, was to make sure the manager leak not a single word of you being sick to the boys.
it was true that you have not been sick in a long while, but so far you have gotten a grip on how it works and adapted to being uncomfortable and alone. reminding yourself to take those over-the-counter medicines was annoying but doable. moving around the apartment so you could cook and clean was exhausting but also doable. you did not need an extra pair of hands; it would definitely be good to have one, but you could survive without one.
you knew very well if the boys knew that you caught a fever, they would insist on visiting and taking care of you.
they would probably try to pull up to your apartment with some homemade soup and old movie discs, rambling on and on about sneaking out and forcing the driver to come to your apartment estate, complaining about you keeping everything a secret from your friends. then they'd get unreasonably mad at you for not visiting a doctor, and they'd force you to stay in bed while promising to take care of everything. they would be loud, and destructive, and annoying and—ugh! everything you do not need when you have a fever burning on your head!
"oh, finally!" you groaned in tired delight when you heard the doorbell ring. you have been waiting on the jajangmyeon takeout you ordered about fifteen damn minutes ago (to be fair, it felt like two hours with that migraine in your head).
shaking the shiver off your back when you stood on the cold wooden tiles with your bare feet, you grimaced at the pair of fuzzy socks you previously pulled off out of spontaneity, not wanting to bend down to get them from the ground. you stepped on then as you moved begrudgingly from the messy couch, where your blanket and tons of pillows resided, to the front door.
you unlocked your door with some trouble, finding it hard to stand on your legs and twist the lock. when you slowly swung open the door, you muttered, "sorry for the delay, it's kind of hard to–huh."
you cut yourself off when you saw the sight of renjun handing cash to your delivery man and patting him on the back as he bowed and left your house with your jajangmyeon. your eyes pulled back to look at the bigger picture—four people present before your apartment door, all wearing the same reaction to your figure uncared for.
renjun has turned his attention back from your delivery man and his grimace deepened when he saw your red face. donghyuck pulled a face at you when he saw your terrible posture and dead expression, and he tightened his grip on the small bag in his hand. jeno was frowning in disapproval with one brow raised as if you were spreading the bacteria to him but he was too polite to cover himself up. jaemin looked like he didn't want to be here, like always, but for a moment you saw his eyes flicker with soft concern over your visibly sick posture.
you sneered. that bastard! the manager snitched on you and here came the power rangers of the 2000s judging you at your front door! you would not take this absurdity!
"goodbye," you muttered blandly before you went ahead to close the door on their faces, but a hand swiftly reached out and blocked the door frame from meeting its end.
jeno smiled casually at you from the side, his arm muscle flexing as he, with no effort against your sickened strength, pushed the door open. you attempted to struggle against him, but obviously you were of no match for him, riddled with a fever or not.
"lee jeno," you warned.
"[full name]," he returned.
you clicked your tongue. you were too dizzy to get angry, but the rumbling inside your chest sounded anyway so you wouldn't be so overwhelmed by the boys' relentless care that you forget you didn't like this nor want this, that this wasn't ideal for you.
"please leave," you asked. "i don't need help."
"no. we're coming in whether you like it or not, [name], so give it up," donghyuck mentioned as he gently brushed past you into the apartment. "and before you ask–no, we are not leaving. we got our phones, and we brought movies. we also have to take care of you, so we got plenty to do here. we won't get bored."
you rolled your eyes as the rest of the boys followed behind. kicking their shoes off and placing them neatly to the side, they slowly began acting as if they were back in their humble abode.
donghyuck headed over to the coffee table before your couch. he grimaced at the sight of falling blankets and unorganized pillows as he placed the bag on the surface, then he turned to renjun, "renjun, where do we put the soup?"
"not on the coffee table, take it to the kitchen!" renjun exclaimed as he pointed aimlessly at a spot.
donghyuck listened. as he made his way to your open kitchen, he began rambling off. "you know, i can't believe you didn't tell us you were sick. i knew something was up when you were absent for more than a day!"
renjun nodded in agreement as he crossed his arms, looking to you with a semi-displeased expression. "he is right. we are all friends here, you should tell us if you need some help."
just having them around your apartment was enough to make you want to jump out the window. it was nothing personal against the boys, though. you would have felt the same with just about anybody who dared enter your territory when you felt uncomfortable. but the way they never stop talking—ugh, it made you want to end it altogether so you didn't have to listen to their voices overlap each other in such annoying frequency.
"if i needed help, i would have asked," you dragged out through gritted teeth.
donghyuck snickered from the sink, rolling his sleeves up and getting ready to do the unclean dishes. "oh yeah, that's why you have no clean bowl and spoon to use!"
"also, why are all your stuff here on the couch, [name]?" jeno complained as he picked up your heavy blankets in his arms. he popped his head out from the side and eyed you. "i'll take them back to your room, you should stay in bed!"
jaemin leisurely approached the coffee table, his face was bland with his hands stuffed in the pockets of his pants. despite acting like he didn't want to be here, his curiosity to know whether you were doing well alone was killing him inside; you weren't, it appeared. he gazed around your apartment with feign disinterest before an opened box caught his eyes.
bending down to pick up the medicine, he furrowed his brows and turned to you. "these aren't doctor prescribed medicine."
ignoring the drowsiness in your eyes, you looked at the displeasure on jaemin's face before you sighed, "i didn't see a doctor."
"you what?" jaemin exclaimed in disbelief while the rest of the boys gasped in what sounded to be disapproval.
there it went. there came the wave of complaints and disagreement piling out of their mouths like rainwater flooding into the ditch. the migraine in your head magnified the more frustration built up inside you, trying to force you to explode on the boys who only meant well.
"yes, i didn't visit a doctor. stop making a big deal out of it," you retorted, straining your voice to make yourself heard. "do you know how expensive an appointment at the clinic is?"
"still! it's always better to visit a doctor!" renjun pointed out softly.
the others agreed with him like dominos, opinions falling on top of each other in the form of noises. you closed your eyes in hopes to cancel their presence, but they've been talking nonstop it felt impossible to ignore them.
their voices were adding to your nausea, too many words to understand and to process that you felt useless not being able to retain their words as quickly as usual. it made you want to vomit, it made your chest tighten, it made your tummy hurt.
"god... please... shut up," you muttered under your breath as you glared at the floor. "shut up... stop talking... stop talking!"
the heat burst.
"[name]..." jaemin began cautiously, dropping the empty box of pills on the table as he eyed you sturdily.
you grimaced; your lips quirking down in guilt and your eyes darting elsewhere but their faces. seeing their innocent, good-intentioned, widened eyes would just make you feel like a bad person more than anything. shaking your head, you waved your hand at them dismissively and proceeded to turn away.
"thank you for coming, but please leave because i don't need your help," you said, "i'm gonna go to bed. lock the door when you leave."
the boys watched you move back to your room slowly, still surprised at your sudden outburst. they half-expected something like this to happen, but not exactly the way it turned out. they did come here fully prepared to be kicked out kindly knowing well your inability to accept aid from others, but the event has taken a turn for even worse, it seemed. they had not expected you to yell at them.
donghyuck turned away from the sink, his confused gaze darting between the door to your bedroom and the rest of his friends. "we're not actually leaving, right?"
"no, but we will leave them alone," jeno mumbled, fiddling with his fingers. "for now, at least."
jaemin's eyes trailed after your steps and they have yet to tear themselves away from your bedroom door.
he knew you well, better than the rest of his friends if he could say so. even though you might have meant what you said, you wouldn't do anything if they refuse to listen. and the consequences of adhering to your request and leaving you alone when you just did something you didn't want to would outweigh those of them not listening to you.
you don't need help, you never ask for them, whatever reason that was. but you do want them when they were presented to you. he knew that much, at least.
"jaemin, where are you going?" jeno asked when he saw his friend shuffling across the small living room.
nobody talked when jaemin moved to your room and knocked on your door. he pushed it open without waiting for your permission, and the stifled cries stayed beneath the walls unknown to the outsiders. he softened at the sight of you helplessly rubbing your tears with your forearm, wanting nothing more than to coddle you, but he leaned against the door instead.
"feeling bad now, are we?" jaemin said to catch your attention.
your head hurt, the pain was piercing. but nothing shattered you more than realizing you were a bad person for refusing help from good people who cared about you, realizing the mortifying cycle of loneliness you cannot thrust yourself out of because you could not accept any form of good social interaction. you were never one to cry from those whimsical things, you were used to it, but the thought of your friends shuffling out of your apartment and leaving the area dead cold made you cry.
you still have them now, but for how long, really? how many more "leave me alone" and "i don't want your help" would they take until they truly leave you alone for good?
you sobbed out breathlessly, your words continuously getting cut off against your will. eventually, you made out a sentence.
"jae-jaemin, my head hurts."
like a sharp shot through his heart, jaemin wavered and crumbled. he wasn't sure if this kind of melting was good, but he was taking the ache along with him. he approached you swiftly and sat down on the edge of your bed, a spoiled gaze dawning within his eyes while he moved his hand to your head, threading his fingers through your hair and messaging your scalp.
"try going to sleep, it'll help," he coaxed.
the more you cried, the more he sunk himself onto your bed. he kept his head high up against the headboard of your bed, and he let you snuggle close against his side for comfort. your head hastily leaned against his chest, fat tears rolling down your cheeks as you tried to focus on the rhythm of which he scratched your head dotingly.
"shhh, it's okay," he hushed, reaching his free arm over you to pat your back. "it's going to be okay."
jaemin was always so kind. everyone was always so kind. with their homemade soup, their refusal to abandon you at a tough spot, their snark remarks against your constant attacks, their nagging and coaxing—they were your friends.
you never knew why it took so much effort to get it into your head that they were going to be here whether you wanted them to or not. when you pushed them away, they would push back ten times harder, however many times they needed to. they knew you hated blatant affection so they never show it, nor do they make you show it, but it was here. flowing between their heads was love, discreet love, love that sat in patience, understanding, and stubbornness.
you pack a mean punch, but they could take it.
"jaemin... how are they doing?"
jaemin looked up from your sleeping face to find donghyuck at the door. his hands were wet from messing around in the kitchen, and he wiped them clean on his pants as he quietly approached the bed to take a peek at you. he raised his brow when he saw your face smushed against jaemin's chest and hidden under your arm, then he signed.
sleeping, huh. good. he heard you cry from outside a while ago, everyone did. nobody said anything about it and the living rooms were hushed quieter until your sobs gradually calmed down.
"are you going to stay here?" donghyuck asked after he pulled away. "you might get sick."
"yeah," jaemin nodded down at you, "i might."
donghyuck pursed his lips together, then he shrugged. "alright, i'll leave you then. do you want me to turn the lights off?"
"no, i don't want to fall asleep," jaemin said, stroking your head gently. then he nudged his chin toward donghyuck. "i do want my phone though."
donghyuck scoffed when he was by the door. he was only gonna turn the lights off because it would help you, so if that wasn't needed...
"interesting," he said. "i'm not your errand boy, though. you can stay bored."
jaemin held back a hiss when donghyuck ran out to the living room. he grimaced after the opened door, eyes wide in annoyance that donghyuck left the lights on and the door open, that irresponsible bastard! and he wouldn't even run to get a phone, which would only take a couple of steps!
turning his attention, he glanced down at you instead and breathed out a sigh. he wasn't going to be on his phone for long anyway, he just wanted to tell jisung and chenle you were doing okay. other than that, he has the plan to stare at you until you wake up—your scrunchy nose and closed puffy eyes were abnormally adorable, he has to admit.
"yeah, i'll get him," jaemin whispered playfully down at you. "we'll get him when you wake up."

When the Chips are Down
part 9
masterlist
Tumblr media
The next day came much too slowly. Y/N hated bed rest, and the constantly squirming future futbol star in her belly didn’t make finding a comfortable position easy. Namjoon also didn’t make bed rest any easier. The man was an expert at hovering. When he said bed rest, he meant bed rest. He didn’t let her so much as get up to use the bathroom by herself. Supposedly if she was up for even a moment without him watching, she and the baby would go into distress again. Perhaps on someone else the hovering would have been sweet, but it was Namjoon, and all she wanted to do was throttle him. She restrained herself though, if only for the sake of their new deal and the fact she wasn’t sure she could beat him in a fight with her belly so big.
“You should really eat something.” He sighed, fully dressed and ready for the day as he sat beside her watching her pick at the food on the tray that Miss In had brought up for breakfast. “It’s good for the baby.”
“I’m aware.” she shot back dryly, as she continued to poke at the food in distaste instead of eating it.
“Just a little.” he tried to conceal a smile, finding her little frown adorable, even if he couldn’t allow her petulant refusal to eat in the mornings. There was only a few weeks left until the baby arrived, and he wanted them both to be as strong and healthy as possible.
She turned to him, looking both tired and completely unimpressed. “I’m not a child, Namjoon.”
“I know that, jagi, but the baby…”
She took a deep breath, counting to ten to keep her temper in check. Mornings had been rough for her for the majority of the pregnancy. Morning sickness that was meant to go away half way through the pregnancy lingered, and true to its name, it liked to hit her in the morning.
“I am aware that there’s a baby. I’m the one whose organs it's using as a punching bag. I know what I’m doing.”
“Just a little. Please.” he did his best to keep his own temper in check, knowing full well that their truce was still fragile, but he was only trying to look out for them.
“Fine.” she growled, gritting her teeth.
“Thank you.” he leaned over, pressing a kiss to her temple with a smile. “The new doctor will be stopping by today to check on you and the baby. I’m sorry I can’t be there for it, but I need to get things in order before the baby comes.”
She nodded, taking a reluctant bite of breakfast. “That’s fine.”
“Your sister will be here though.”
She perked up at that. “Iyla?”
He smiled, relieved to see her something other than ornery. “I thought you would like to have her with you, and I did promise you could see her today.” He loved the bright smile that spread over her features. He only wished that she would smile like that for him once in a while. “Jin will be coming by as well, just to make sure that everything is in order with the new doctor.”
“No shooting this one.” she grumbled, taking another small bite.
“No shooting.” he promised.
After breakfast, where he forced her to choke down a minimal amount of porridge despite her still tender stomach, Namjoon was off to work, and she was more than happy to see him go. It gave her freedom to attempt sneaking her way out of bed, a plan that was quickly squashed by Miss In who had a gaggle of maids constantly checking up on her if she wasn’t there herself. She wanted to be dressed in something other than pajamas, but that apparently wasn’t going to happen.
“Y/N!” a wonderfully familiar voice called right before the ball of energy that was her sister came barrelling into her, smooshing them both back against the pillows.
“Hey, Iya.” she whispered, squeezing her sister tight and ignoring Hoseok who lingered at the door. “We’re fine, Hoseok. I’m sure Namjoon needs you for something or another.” the man didn’t move. “There are guards everywhere, and Miss In checks in every twenty minutes it seems. Do you really want to be here for my check up?”
“Probably not.” he shrugged, smiling slightly. “I’ll wait till the kid’s born to coo over pictures.” He turned a sharp eye to Iyla who was still curled tightly around her sister. “I’ll be back later to pick you up, okay?” she didn’t say anything, and Hoseok sighed tiredly before making his exit. “Good luck with the check up.”
Both women waited for Hoseok to leave before they said anything else.
“You’re okay right?” her sister pulled back, scanning her over once they were both sure Hoseok was gone. “You were so upset when I left, and you had pain in your belly. Is the baby okay?”
“Baby is fine, but are you okay?” she lifted her hands up, gently cupping her face. “Hoseok didn’t hurt you at all?”
She shook her head, causing a few stray strands to fall out of the bun that sat messily on top of her head. “I’m fine. He’s not the most pleasant,” she grimaced. “But he didn’t hurt me.”
“Good. That's good.”  she flopped back onto the mattress in relief. “So what are we doing today?”
“I’m on bed rest.” the news was met with a sympathetic ‘oof’ from her sister. “But the new doctor is coming today to do a check up, so you’ll probably get to see the ultrasound.”
“New doctor?” Iyla propped herself up on her elbows. “What happened to the old doctor?”
“Namjoon shot her.”
“And I thought mine was bad.” she huffed, laying back down. “Are we better or worse off than with Marcus?” she turned looking at her sister with a serious expression that wasn’t typical of her.
Y/N sighed, settling herself back against the pillows as well. That really was the question. Were they better off? She’d told Namjoon that he was worse than Marcus, but was it actually true or had she just said it to rile him?
“Well, I’m not getting beat up every other day.” she offered weakly.
“Y/N.”
“I made a deal.” she admitted, resting a hand over her belly.
“What kind of deal did you make?”
“They can’t hurt us. They can’t do anything that Marcus did, and I arranged for him to let Mark, the guy who helped me escape, go unharmed. The catch is we can’t leave, or at least I can’t. I made no such promise for you. If you find a window, you take it.”
“I’m not leaving you here alone!” she argued, sitting up and glaring at her sister. “If I’m leaving, I’m taking you and the peanut with me.”
“I can’t.” she shook her head sadly. “I’ve gotten out of here twice, and neither was without help, and both times ended badly. I got Jackson killed, Iya.”
“We run together. We go back to the states!”
“We don’t have phones. We don’t have passports.”
“We get to the embassy!”
Y/N shook her head. “We have no way of getting to Seoul. You’d have a much better chance of getting out of here without dragging a pregnant lady with you, and how exactly do you think we’re going to get out of here? There are guards everywhere, and I don’t think  Namjoon is going to be taking any chances with the baby due in a few weeks.”
“We have to try!”
“If I leave the deal is broken, and there is no protection for either of us. If you have a chance to go, you take it, and you don’t look back.”
“I can’t leave you here!” she cried. “Are you insane!”
“Your sister has a point.” a new voice called from the door pulling both of their attention to Sen who stood there with her little boy perched on her hip. “But even if you have a chance it won’t end well for you. Hoseok isn’t a man to cross. He can be sweet if he wants to, but there’s a whole lot of crazy behind that sunshiney exterior. You’re safer here where you have family to look out for you.”
“And who are you?” Iyla growled, protectively scooting closer to her sister.
“This is Sen.” Y/N placed a calm hand on Iyla’s shoulder. “She’s Yoongi’s wife, not by choice.”
“What’s she doing here?”
“Came to check in on you and the baby.”
“You’re not needed.”
“She’s a friend.” Y/N scolded, lightly smacking Iyla’s shoulder. “Don’t be rude.”
“Well, then we take her too!” Iyal conceded, already getting fired up again.
“Right.” both older women scoffed.
“How are you planning to sneak you, me, a baby, and a pregnant lady out of here?” Sen asked arching an elegant brow. “I’m not risking Yoonho. Taehyung might be busy with his girl, but he has eyes everywhere, and I’m betting Hoseok had Jin stick one of Taehyng’s trackers in you just like Yoongi did me. They’re a little paranoid if you hadn’t noticed. Two out of seven have had pregnant women slip away from them. Apparently, it’s a little traumatizing.”
That shut Iyla right up, if only for a moment. “We can take the trackers out!” Her voice was more frantic now as she grasped at straws.
“Done that.” Y/N grimaced at the memory. “It wasn’t a pleasant experience.”
“We can’t do nothing!”
“You’re not doing nothing.” Sen assured her. “You’re keeping your head down and keeping safe.”
“I can’t risk any more travel with the baby.” Y/N added softly. “I almost went into labor yesterday. But you’re safe so long as I keep up my end of the deal.”
“What about you?” Iyla insisted, gaze heated as her eyes darted between the two older women. “You’re content to just sit here and play house?”
“I’d rather you be safe.” Y/N took her little sister’s hand in hers. “I won’t have you go through what I went through with Marcus, and at least this way, you have some level of protection.”
“It’s not fair!”
“I know.” she agreed softly. “But it’s the best I can do for now.”
“Namjoon’s not going to hurt her.” Sen promised. “He went crazy when she was gone. He might be a raging psychopath, but he has some sort of twisted love for your sister. So long as she and the baby are here with him, she’ll be okay.”
“That doesn’t make me feel better.”
“It’s the best we can do.”
“What’s the best you can do?” Jin asked, popping into the room with a rather pale looking Hayan trailing behind him. “Good to see you again, Iyla. How’s the arm?” he asked, nodding towards the arm where he’d inserted the chip.
“Great.” she hissed, glaring at him. “What’s the quack doing here?”
“I’m offended! I offered to play Narts with you!”
“Quack.” She grumbled, scooting even closer to her sister.
“He’s here for the appointment, Iya.”
Jin perked up, turning his attention to the very pregnant woman. “And how is our gorgeous mom to be today?”
“I’d be a whole lot better if I wasn’t on bed rest.”
Jin laughed, and Hayan made her way over to the bed, perching on the edge and sending Y/N a small attempt at a smile. “Just for a few days. It’ll put all our minds at ease after the scare you gave us yesterday and all the stress Namjoon’s put you through.”
“Hi, Hayan. You doing okay?” the other woman nodded slightly, but it was clear to everyone in the room she was still shaken.
“I wanted her to stay home and rest, but she wanted to see how you were doing.” Jin sighed dramatically. “It’s my lot in life to be surrounded by gorgeous stubborn women.”
“How’s the baby?” Hayan asked, voice soft.
“Kicking.”
“Kicking is good.” Jin nodded. “The new doctor should be here soon, and then we should be able to take a proper look at you and baby. Are all you ladies staying for the check up?” It was a question addressed to all of them, but they all knew that it was Y/N who was meant to answer.
“As long as no one but the doctor is checking things down there, we’re fine.”
“Okay.” Jin clapped his hands together. “I am going to ask that everyone who isn’t Iyla go sit over there, except you.” he reached out, lifting Yoonho right out of Sen’s arms. “You get to stay with Uncle Jinnie, spend some time away from stinky old Yoongi.”
The little boy stared at him, completely unimpressed looking so much like his father before he started fussing for absolutely no reason, reaching up with one chubby little fist to roughly grab a lock of Jin’s hair and yanking.
“Ow! Okay! Okay!” Jin handed the baby back. “Not today then. He gets more like his dad every day.” he huffed, pouting as yoonho settled back into his mother’s arms.
“He cries for Yoongi too.” Sen offered as a consolation, bouncing the baby lightly. “He’s a momma’s boy.”
“More like his dad every day.” Jin muttered again, shaking his head sadly.
“Buin.” Miss In called from the door. “The doctor has arrived.” the woman stepped aside to reveal a different woman dressed professionally with her hair neatly pinned to the top of her head.
“Buin.” the woman bowed respectfully. “I’m Dr. Yang. I’ll be taking over your prenatal and postnatal care.”
“Dr. Yang.” she greeted eyeing the woman warily.
Miss In had done a wonderful job of cleaning the master bedroom and at record speed as well, but the memory of what had happened just the other day was still fresh in everyone’s minds.
She could tell just by looking at the woman, it was going to be a long day.

November, 2019.
Park days were the best days for the Styles family. They didn’t get to have them as much as they’d like as they were always so busy, but today was an off day and Artemis was responsible for choosing what they were going to do. And of course he chose the park.
Y/N packed some snacks in a picnic basket while Harry took the job of dressing Artemis up. Obviously Artemis ended up way too dress up for just going to the park but it wasn’t a secret Harry was crazy about them wearing the same color or matching outfits to go out.
Harry had picked a pair of white shorts and paired it with a pastel yellow polo shirt he tucked into the shorts. Artemis looked adorable although Harry knew his son most likely get the clothes dirty as soon as they arrive to the park.
“Daddy, my nose itches.” Artemis tried to take off his glasses but Harry stopped him.
Last month they had an appointment with the ophthalmologist and Artemis had to change his glasses at his doctor's request. But Artemis wasn't happy with his new ones, he was always looking for an excuse to take them off or hiding them from his parents.
"Better?" Harry asked, using his fingers to scratch softly where Artemis pointed it itched. The much smaller boy nodded. "You need the glasses, sweetheart. Don't take them off."
"I like my old ones better, why can't i have those?"
"Those doesn't work for you anymore, monkey." He explained. "C'mon, let's put your shoes on." Harry knelt in front of him to watch how Artemis ties his sneakers up, he smiled when his son made it without a problem.
"I just put the things in the car, are you ready?" Y/N said when she saw them coming down the stairs.
"Yes! Let's go, let's go!" Artemis almost jumped from the lasts steps.
Artemis rambled the entire ride about all the fun things they’d do together once they got there, constantly asking if they were at the park already. When they arrived, Harry was surprised it wasn’t so full of people, considering it was the weekend. Y/N unfolded the blanket on the grass, laying the stuff they brought.
“Daddy, let’s play.” Artemis pulled from Harry’s arm, making the latest chuckle.
“Just be careful, please. We don’t want you to fall.” Y/N remained her son, who was too busy running around with his dad.
It was a beautiful day outside, there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky, and the weather was perfect despite being in the middle of November. Harry had packed a Frisbee Artemis liked to use in their backyard and that’s what they were using to play.
Harry made sure to throw it softly at his son, not wanting the toy to hit him in the face. Artemis threw his hands in the air every time his daddy caught it.
Everything happened too fast, none of his parents could catch Artemis before he was face down on the grass. He had tried to throw the Frisbee higher but didn’t control his strength and he ended up on the floor.
Harry’s eyes grew wide as he ran towards the small child, his heart breaking as he heard his loud sobs. He picked him up from the grass and scooped him in his arms.
"Are you hurt? Where does it hurt, baby? Is it your arm?" He said, panic visible in his tone.
"He scraped his knees." Y/N said before cooing at Artemis, trying to calm him down. "Got some band aids for your knees, my love. It's okay." She took him in her arms and handed the band aids to Harry so he could put them on his boy's knees after cleaning the little blood that was there.
Caressing his hair softly, Y/N sat back down on the blanket, putting Artemis on her lap to wipe his tears off. "All better?" He nodded with a pout on his face.
Harry copied his son's pout, sitting next to them on the blanket. He didn't like seeing his love being upset, and he'd lie if he said he didn't feel a little guilty for him getting hurt.
"It's okay, accidents happen and sometimes we get hurt." Y/N said as if she could read Harry's thoughts. "What if we eat and then we can go for ice cream."
The smile reappeared on Artemis' face as he stood up from his mum's lap and cheered excitedly. Artemis ate whatever Y/N had packed for them, hurrying his parents so they could go get dessert.
"Are you okay?" Y/N asked Harry at the end of the day when Artemis was falling asleep on his daddy's shoulder as he carried him back to the car. "You've been quiet since he fell."
"Just worried. Should we take him to ER?"
"For scraped knees? Don't think so. Harry, it's fine, really. He doesn't even remember he has them." She assured. "Tomorrow it will be all better."
"But he cried so loud." He furrowed as they reached the car and Y/N opened the door of the backseat so Harry could put him on his carseat. "I was worried he hurt his elbow or something."
"I guess it was more out of surprise. He wasn't expecting to fall facedown on the floor." Once everything and everyone were in the car, Harry started to drive back home. "Please don't beat yourself up for this. It was literally an accident."
"But i was playing with him."
"Yes, but you couldn't have prevented it from happen."
She put a hand on his thigh, not wanting him to feel any worse from something so small. Artemis doesn't have a lot of accidents as he is a calm boy who doesn't play sports or anything that requires running or jumping, but when they happen, he gets scared and that's normal. No kid likes to see blood coming out of them, even if it's only a little.
"As a parent the best you can do is stay calm during these situations. If you don't panic, then he doesn't either." She smiled at him.
Y/N loved how protective Harry was, his skills as a parent never failed to show in any situation. But he was still very new at it, and he couldn't help but want to put his boy in a little bubble so nothing bad would happen to him.
*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *:・゚✧ ✧゚・:
A week later, Y/N was cooking dinner while Artemis was upstairs in the movie room watching a cooking show on Netflix. Lately he's been obsessed with those and could watch entire seasons if his parents let him.
Harry was out having a meeting with his team but promised to be back for dinner, so it was just the two of them in the house.
The buzzer sounded, alerting someone was at the other side of the gates. Y/N put down the knife she was holding and walked towards the little screen that allowed her to see who was there.
Her breathe hitched when she saw Caleb standing there. He was looking the other way but Y/N could recognize him anywhere. A frown appeared on her face as he hit the buzzer again. She stayed in her place, starting at the screen and hoping he'd turn around and leave.
But he didn't.
She was ready to go outside and tell him to leave but she heard the gates open before she could do so. The gates opening meant Harry was home.
And home he was. But he furrowed as soon as he saw a body standing there. He didn't recognize the man but he was pretty sure he's seem his face before.
He parked inside but didn't close again the gates as he returned outside. "Can i help you?" Harry asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Is Y/N home?" The stranger asked, putting his hands inside of his pockets. "I need to speak to her."
"I'm sorry, who are you?"
"Doesn't matter, i need to see Y/N."
"Uh, it does matter, actually. Why is it so important to speak to my girlfriend?" Harry questioned again in a protective tone.
Before he could answer Harry's question, Y/N came out of the house, closing the door behind her before rushing towards the two man. She stood beside Harry, taking his hand in hers.
"What are you doing here, Caleb?" She asked and Harry's brain finally clicked. He looked so different from the only picture he's seen of him. "What do you want?"
"I need to see him, Y/N." Caleb said, almost in a demanding tone. Y/N looked up at Harry, who already had a deep, angry frown on his face. "I-I saw that video of you three at the park and... Y/N, i'm ready to meet my-"
"He's not your son." Harry barked angrily.
"Harry's right, Caleb. He's not yours in any way." She said sternly. "Besides, i bet it isn't the first video or picture you've seen of us, what could possibly make this one different?"
"I saw him getting hurt." He said defensively. "It.. awoke something in me. I want to be a father, Y/N."
"Then go ahead and get a family of your own because neither Artemis nor I have anything to do with you. Do i have to remind you, you signed the paper giving up your paternal rights?" Y/N started to get angry and Harry squeezed her hand.
"I was twenty-one, Y/N."
"So was I!" She now exclaimed.
"I think it's best if you leave." Harry spoke again, trying to control his anger before he punched that man straight on the face.
"And you are?" Caleb asked "Oh, right. You're the guy she replaced me with. Does my son calls you daddy too?"
"She didn't replace you, she just moved on with someone way better." He smirked. "And yes, my son calls me daddy, must hurt, right? Now get the fuck out of my property before i call the bloody cops."
Harry let go of Y/N's hand just to push Caleb out, not being able to hold his anger anymore. "If i ever see you close to my family, i'll fucking ruin you."
When Caleb was back on his car, Harry finally closed the gates and turned to see Y/N. "I'm sorry you had to see him, my love."
Y/N sighed. "I'm okay. I just... I hadn't seen him since he..." Her lip started trembling but she swallowed the tears. "Seeing his face brought back a lot of emotions."
"Couldn't imagine." Harry took her in his arms and kissed her forehead. "But you won't see him anymore, over my dead body."
"Thank you."
Harry smiled softly at her, supping her face with his hands and pecking her lips. "Thank you for letting me be the one by your side."
"I wouldn't dream of having anyone else."

rules
warnings: fluff, pregnancy
Miya Osamu
Tumblr media
-You two ran the shop as a happy married couple for the past couple of years now.
-You stopped helping when the smell of the onigiri made you sick.
-Osamu believed that it was his fault, maybe his cooking was deteriorating.
-But when he bought your favorite snack and you threw up, he knew that something was wrong.
-Going to the doctor was the first course of action and boy were you shocked when you were given the news.
- “It seems that you’re three weeks pregnant. That would explain the vomiting and your sensitivity to smell. Congratulations.”
-Osamu was so happy he even called his brother despite knowing that he would be at practice.
-He’s so careful with you from that point on.
-He cooks everything himself and tries new things trying to find what doesn’t trigger your vomiting.
-Loves to feel the baby when you two are cuddling.
-As much as he doesn’t want to bring it up he believes that you eat a lot.
-Like a lot a lot.
-He doesn’t want to tell you because your mood swings are starting to get worse and he hates seeing you cry.
-So he tries being more sly and he arranges a doctor’s appointment.
-His plan was to ask the doctor when you were out of earshot.
-He didn’t get his chance immediately so he decided to ask after the sonogram.
-Everything was fine until the doctor furrowed his brows and squinted at the screen.
-You knew something must be wrong and you were starting to panic.
-Is the baby alright?
-Is there a problem?
-You squeezed his hand and he reciprocated the action.
-His own thoughts were running wild but he had to stay calm and collected.
-For both of you.
- “Seems like....you’re going to have twins.”
-You both let go of the breath you were holding and were about to celebrate when....
- “Actually no... triplets!! You’re having triplets.”
-The room was silent for a few moments.
-Then the doctor points out each baby individually and congratulates you again.
- “You’re in for a tough ride Mrs. Miya.”
-Osamu called Atsumu again in a state of shock.
-It was like he was living in a haze and he can’t quite snap out of it.
-His fingers were laced with yours as your other hand was rubbing your stomach, your mind going wild with the revelation.
- “What do you want Samu you know-”
- “Triplets.”
- “What?”
- “We’re having triplets.”
- “WHAT?”
-The rest of the months were hectic.
-The nursery had to be changed to fit three babies and you had to buy triple the supplies.
-Your stomach was ready to explode by the ninth month and you were begging Osamu to do something to end this misery.
-Then your babies were born and yall.....I’m wheezing.
-Identical triplets???
-What are the odds????
-And they are all girls?????
-Excuse me are you playing a prank on their poor father?????
-He already was stressing over the fact that he might have a daughter and he would have to chase the boys away.
-But now it was times three???????
-He is really happy though.
-Atsumu buys them matching onesies.
-Power ranger onesies, Powerpuff girls onesies, Sailor moon onesies.
-Anything that had a powerful trio really.
-You did confuse them at times.
-And when I say at times I mean all the time.
-I see Osamu calling them food names.
-Like its Soba, Tofu and Onigiri.
-When they get older and can help at the shop they become the mascots.
-One is on the cashier, the other is taking orders and the last one is giving out the packages.
-Plus everyone knows the Miyas from the infamous multiplying girl joke a critic made.
-He gave his order to one Miya girl and then another one emerged from behind the counter and as he turned around he was met with another one bring supplies into the shop.
-The man almost had a stroke.
-They are angels though and are an immense help.
-They love their dad to death.
-Good luck though trying to separate them when they start fighting.
Sugawara Koushi
Tumblr media
-This sweetheart of a man.
-I love him so much.
-And so do you.
-You have been trying for a baby for the past three months.
-One morning you wake up and rush to the bathroom, throwing up.
-You both knew what was going on but before you got too excited Koushi went to get a pregnancy test just to make sure.
-When it came out positive you went out to celebrate with your friends from high school.
-They were all so happy for you.
-Daichi and Asahi both promised to be the best uncles this baby will ever have while Kiyoko started planning baby shopping.
-Everything was perfect, your morning sickness had died down as the months passed and your doctor assured you that everything was well.
-During one of your appointments, Suga couldn’t make it being held back at the school because of a parent-teacher meet up, so you had gone on your own.
-You were fine with it reassuring him that it was fine and you would update him when you were done.
-So when the doctor said you were expecting twins everything started to turn.
-You didn’t know which one was the cause of this dizziness.
-The happy news or the shock from the news.
-You called Daichi to come pick you up because you didn’t want to bother Suga.
-Which was a stupid move since he would move a freaking mountain for you.
-Suga called you later and asked you how it went.
-He was met by just a plain ‘come home please.’
-He was panicking.
-He was almost sure that something happened and you lost the baby.
-But when he was met with all of his friends at home smiling with happy tears in their eyes, he knew that he should be expecting good news.
-You skipped to him and kissed his lips, a large grin on your face.
- “Do you remember how we said that we shouldn’t buy any baby clothes since we don’t know the gender yet?”
-He nodded at your words, waiting for you to tell him if he was going to be holding a little boy or a little girl in a few months.
- “Well the wait was unnecessary, we’ll be needing both anyways.”
-It took him a few moments before the realization hit him.
- “Twins.....We are having twins....Oh my god I love you so much.”
-He picked you up and span you around once before carefully putting you down, tears cascading down his cheeks.
-When the babies are born he is so damn happy.
-The type of teacher who constantly shows photos of his kids.
-Since they are different genders you both get satisfied with having a child favoring you.
-You have a daddy’s girl and a mamma’s boy.
-They both love you equally in reality they just know who to ask when they want something.
-Suga adores them.
-And they adore him.
-You have come home one too many times finding the three of them sleeping on the couch, the twins on his chest curled up into one another while their father’s arms circle them.
-Adorable all three of them.
Kuroo Tetsuro
Tumblr media
-You two already have one daughter.
-You have been together since the first year of university and your daughter was born while you two were 27.
-She wasn’t expected.
-Kuroo wanted to marry you first and he was planning on doing so before you announced your pregnancy.
-It caught him so off guard poor baby had to do a double take.
-But he couldn’t be more glad for his babygirl.
-He loved her so much.
-So much that he hated watching her grow up and soon leave his embrace.
-That’s why you were now throwing up in your bathroom, a pregnancy test laying on the counter the two lines facing the ceiling.
-Kuroo and your daughter were so excited.
-Your daughter had no idea what was going on but her dad’s laugh and large smile was enough for her to start giggling and clapping.
-Kuroo became extra careful with you, looking after your daughter and taking care of her more than you.
- “You shouldn’t lift heavy things or bend down much.”
- “You mean she’s heavy?”
- “No no I didn’t-”
-Cue the waterworks.
-Your mood swings were bad during your first pregnancy and he wanted to forget those times.
-His brain legit blocked  out those memories after your daughter was born.
-So having those bad times in mind he tends to not provoke or piss you off.
-All three of you went to your appointment, wanting your one year and a half year old to see her sibling.
-Now since you already had an experience with sonograms you were looking for the small lump.
-The thing is that you saw two small shadows .
-You were confused but just scratched it up to you not being able to clearly see your baby.
- “It looks like you are carrying two babies Mrs. Kuroo.”
-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-This man was both terrified and super excited.
-Terrified because how would he deal with two rascals at once?
-I mean your first daughter was already kind of a handful.
-And excited because he was going to be blessed by two angels.
-He immediately calls Kenma and Bokuto to share the news.
-They both drop by your house to give you their congratulations although Kenma’s did sound more like condolences.
-Bokuto is over the moon because yay he was going to be an uncle again!!!
-Then they are born and everyone has a heart attack.
-Identical girls.
-He was leaving in a house with four women now.
-Four women.
-FOUR!!!
-He is the type of dad to get them onesies with a 1 and a 2 on the back so he can tell them apart.
-Suggests to give them different haircuts when their hair grows so they can actually tell them apart with some ease.
-You see another problem you are facing are the similarities between those two and their older sister.
-They are a year apart and while they are toddlers your first daughter is bigger than them.
-But once they hit the ages 7,8,9 you have really try and tell all three of them apart.
-They get confused for each other at school all the time.
-By teachers  too.
-Somehow they became friends with the Miya triplets and you should see them playing at the park.
-It’s the most hilarious thing seeing the other parents trying to understand how many of them there truly are.
-They see one Miya triplet accompanied by the Kuroo twins and then after like five minutes the see one Kuroo girl with two Miyas.
-It’s confusion x6.
-And if someone else has twins too???
-And they are spotted by the same face squad???
-You can add another set of identical faces in the mix.
-The twins always buy the same clothes and have the same haircut so they can mess with everyone.
-They always prank their uncle Bokuto with switching their clothes and pretending to be the other.
-They force their sister into it too and now you are trying to understand which ones are the twins and which one is the eldest sister.
-When you find out you’re pregnant again, Kuroo is begging for the baby to be different this time.
- “Please have a different face.”
-Little did he know......
-Poor guy.
-When the girls go to the hospital while you have appointments they totally mess with yalls colleagues psychology.
- “No i’m (first D/N)!!” says the youngest of the bunch.
-A moving circus that’s what yall are.

Okay, no clue if I can send in multiple prompts, so no pressure, you don’t have to reply to this one.
But maybe Kanera with soulmates, rescue (maybe even fix-it 👀👀) As you can see I’m a sucker for soulmate AUs🧍‍♀️💀
Alrighty, this isn't EXACTLY a soulmate au, but it came to me and I have ZERO self control around domestic Kanera, so let's go!!!
Pairing: Kanan Jarrus/Hera Syndulla
Word Count: 1,592
Tags/Warnings: Rated G (for me getting ridiculously sappy today)
“One more story?”
Kanan shook his head. “Not tonight, Jacen. I told your mom I'd have you in bed before she was home.”
“I don’t want to go to bed until she’s home, though,” Jacen said. “I want to say goodnight to her.”
Brushing a hand over his son’s hair affectionately, Kanan said, “I know, kiddo. But your mom will string me up if you’re still awake when she gets back. You’re up late enough as it is.”
Jacen let out a theatrical sigh, and Kanan heard him shifting his weight in bed as he clearly considered his next maneuver. He couldn’t help but repress a smile at it-- the kid’s tenacity came straight from his mom. Although Hera would claim he inherited it from Kanan.
“What time does Mom get home from the appointment again?” Jacen asked.
“She’ll be back around ten-thirty, as you already know,” Kanan reminded him. “That was a really bad stalling technique. Time for bed.”
“No! Tell me another story,” Jacen begged. “Tell me about when you first met Mom.”
Kriff. The kid knew his weak spot. “Jacen…”
“Just this story, then I’ll go to bed. Please?”
Letting out a sigh, Kanan said, “Okay. But only one more, and then you’re going to sleep. Got it?”
Jacen let out an excited yelp, bouncing up and down in bed. “Yes! I promise.”
“Good, now lay back down,” Kanan ordered. “You’ve got to at least pretend you’re going to try and fall asleep after this.”
Immediately squirming back down under the covers, Jacen lay still obediently, and Kanan felt himself smiling as he paused for a minute to collect his wits for the story. If he was being honest, he loved telling this story.
“The first time I met your mother, I was on a backwater planet called Gorse. Now, the planet wasn’t much to look at, but the moon was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.”
“Until you met Mom,” Jacen jumped in, and Kanan nodded.
“Exactly. So, I was working as a pilot, flying explosives to the mine at that point. Wasn’t a safe job, wasn’t a smart job. But I didn’t really care back then. I didn’t care about much of anything. Until one night, when I was heading out of this old tapcafe where I’d been eating dinner, and I heard it.” Kanan tilted his head to the side, closing his eyes and imagining the moment with a soft smile.
“What was it?” Jacen asked, as he always did, his voice dramatically curious.
“The most incredibly beautiful voice,” Kanan said, his own voice equally dramatic. “It was soft and warm, so totally unlike Gorse and everything I’d ever come to expect about the galaxy. The minute I heard that voice, I knew there was something worth living for. And at the moment, it was finding out what kind of woman had a voice like that.”
“So you went after her,” Jacen supplied.
“I did-- after I paid my bill, of course,” Kanan said. “Side note, never run out on a bill from a Besalisk with anger management issues. Anyway, I went to find her, but she’d disappeared, like she was some kind of dream. For a while there, I almost thought she was one. Until--”
“You heard her again!”
“Hey, who’s telling the story?” Kanan gave Jacen a mock stern frown.
“Sorry,” Jacen said, his tone making it clear he was grinning. “I won’t interrupt again.”
“I should hope not,” Kanan said sternly. “But yeah, I heard her again. And, typical of your mother, she was about to get in a brawl with a gang.” As he spoke, he heard the door to the bedroom creak open, and stifled a smile as he kept talking. “So I rushed in to save the day.”
“Oh, did you?” Hera’s voice came from behind Kanan, and he could no longer hold back his smile as Jacen let out an excited yelp.
“Mom!!! You’re home!!”
Kanan ducked just in time to avoid Jacen as the boy launched himself out of bed and at his mother. Catching him, Hera hugged him, and gently set him to the ground. “What are you still doing up, sweetheart?” she asked, pressing a kiss against his forehead. “As if I didn’t know,” she added, directing a look at Kanan that he didn’t need eyesight to decode.
“You don’t know what he threatened me with,” he said, shooting a wink at Jacen. “It was brutal, Hera. You almost lost your husband tonight-- and how would you feel if you came home and your son had committed patricide?”
Hera let out a scoff that was very clearly hiding a laugh. “You’re full of it, dear.”
“Full of love for you,” Kanan said, grinning, and that pulled a laugh out of her.
Stepping forward, she set Jacen onto his bed. “Okay, get back in bed, Jacen. Your father will finish his story, and then it’s time to sleep. Got it?”
“Okay, Mom.” Jacen snuggled back under the covers, and Kanan began his story again.
“As I was saying, your mom was about to get in a fight with a gang of ten, fifteen beings. But little did I know as I started to charge forward to save the day, I was right next to one of the most competent and incredibly talented women I’d ever met. She started fighting right along with me-- handled more than half of the gang, I might add,” Kanan said with a grin.
Hera, who’d settled next to Kanan, chipped in, “Meanwhile, your dad got tackled through a window.”
“Who’s telling the story here?” Kanan demanded, and Hera let out a quiet laugh as she leaned into him, resting her cheek against his shoulder.
“Sorry, love. Keep going.”
Turning back to Jacen, Kanan said, “Anyway, once I finished my fight, I made my way back to where your mom had been-- and there was no one there. Just the cloak she’d dropped when the fight began.
“But when I picked it up and turned around, there she was. The most beautiful woman I’d ever met.” Kanan paused for a moment, a soft smile crossing his face. “I was spellbound immediately.”
“Meanwhile, I was wondering what this scruffy gunslinger was doing with my cloak, and why he was staring at me,” Hera said wryly. “I took off, despite his attempts to follow me or convince me to stay.”
“But then you met him again at that bar,” Jacen said.
“And from there, I found myself dragged into shenanigan after shenanigan with this woman,” Kanan said with a teasing grin. “Somehow, she convinced me to help her save Cynda and Gorse from that psychopath, Count Vidian. Long story short, we ended up on an exploding Star Destroyer together. And that’s when I actually saved your mother’s life.”
“True,” Hera said softly. “I still remember when I saw you use the Force for the first time. You were the last person I would have expected to be a Jedi back then.”
“Well, that was the point,” Kanan said.
“But he’s still a good Jedi,” Jacen said. His voice was growing steadily sleepier as he spoke.
“One of the best,” Hera said.
“I had my moments,” Kanan agreed. “But one of the best things I ever did was save you then. You know, kid, in some cultures, they say that when you save someone’s life, that means they’re your soulmate, that you’re meant to be together.”
“Is that true?” Jacen asked, letting out a huge yawn.
Kanan shrugged. “Who can say? I would have married your mom regardless. Now, time for you to go to sleep.”
As he and Hera rose to their feet, Hera dropping a quick kiss onto Jacen’s forehead, Jacen let out another yawn. “Night, mom. Night, dad.”
“Good night, sweetheart,” Hera said as she switched off the light, and the two of them slipped out of Jacen’s room.
Kanan gently closed the door behind them, then turned to Hera. “Hey. How’d your appointment go?”
“Pretty well,” Hera said, catching him by the hand and leading him away from Jacen’s room and into the living room. “The doctor said that I didn’t have a stomach bug, but there were a couple other tests she wanted to do on me.”
“Oh?” Kanan kept his voice calm, but he could feel his heart rate pick up. They hadn’t been sure when Hera had gone in, but he had a feeling… “What were the results?”
Giving his hand a quick squeeze, Hera said softly, “Why don’t you check for yourself?”
Kanan needed no further encouragement to reach out with the Force towards Hera, sensing her usual bright spark of warm life. And then, somehow within it and separate from it, there was another one. Another life form, tiny but insistent.
“Oh, wow,” Kanan breathed, awe sweeping over him. “Hera-- you’re--”
“Pregnant,” Hera finished, and Kanan could hear the vibrant joy in her voice. “You were right, love. We’re having another baby.”
Kanan felt a grin spreading across his face, and he pulled his wife into a fierce embrace. “This is amazing,” he whispered, pressing a kiss against her temple. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
“Or him,” Hera corrected. “Even you can’t tell this early, Master Jedi.”
“I have a feeling about it,” Kanan said with a smirk, and he felt rather than heard Hera’s laugh.
Pulling back from him slightly, she said, “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” Kanan murmured, and bent down to give her a kiss. “Both of you,” he added.

my masterlist!
title from it ain’t me by kygo ft selena gomez

you had missed bedford, that was not something that you could lie about. it was your hometown, where you’d grown up, had met almost every person that you knew. it would never be anaheim and that was a fact.
another thing about bedford, despite everyone saying that it was quiet and safe and cozy, there were almost no secrets. shortly after you had arrived back in town, word seemed to spread like wildfire when you’d come home just barely three months after you had fled to california, following after trevor.
now, five days later, your son was tucked away with your mother in your childhood home and your car was pulling into a spot beside trevor’s that he had decided to keep at his parent's house when he left for the season. you could see him inside, his back to you at a table in the corner with his head down, hat covering his likely unruly hair.
you almost pull away, hand reaching to shift your car from park to reverse, but you stop yourself. he deserved an explanation just as much as you deserved closure.
you grab your bag from the passenger seat and open the car door, planting your sneaker-clad feet on the ground. you cross your arms over your chest, the new york chill wrapping around you as you quickly make your way towards the entrance.
walking into the cafe, the man behind the counter smiles at you. you walk up with the same grin and order the same thing you used to when you were in high school. you pay and nod when he tells you that it would take a few minutes, grabbing the number he hands you. you turn and find trevor already staring.
you tuck your bottom lip under your teeth and take a deep breath before walking over. you sit your bag in the chair beside you and stick your number in the holder before sitting down, “hi trevor.”
“why did you do it?” his scratchy voice asks, immediately jumping to the point, “why did you leave me?”
-
it was earth-shattering. heart-stopping. enough to send a round of cold chills down your body.
you were staring at the test with an emotionless face while the single word was staring right back at you, pregnant. you were barely seventeen then, still so young and planning on starting college applications soon. there was so much that you didn’t know and you were much too young to be responsible for someone else, you thought.
you didn’t cry. you wanted to, but the tears just wouldn’t come. instead, you put the test back into its box and shove it back into the bag before walking out of the drug store and to your car. you could feel the eyes of the cashier following you. she was the same one who used to place your animal crackers in front of you when you were four and now, thirteen years later, she was watching the aftermath of the pregnancy test that she had just sold you.
it was still early, the sky was dark and the atmosphere was glum. as you drove yourself to school. you stopped for some breakfast, so you wouldn’t have been telling your mother a complete lie as to why you had to leave so early, before parking in the same spot that you had been since you first got your license.
the brown paper bag that held your food was almost taunting. fifteen minutes ago you would have killed for what was inside, but now your stomach was so twisted that you didn’t even want to look at it. you sat in your car taking sips of your water before you grab your backpack and the brown bag and trudge inside.
you were six weeks into your senior year at that point and things were great. everything was great, your grades, your friends, your life. nothing had needed changing right then.
you walked into your first class of four that you had every day. your usual spot was open and angela, your designated partner, already occupied the seat beside it. she smiles when she sees you and holds up a hand, signaling that she had something to tell you, “first, you would not believe what happened last night. and second, what’s in the bag?”
“it’s got bacon and egg on it, so you wouldn’t like it,” you shake your head as you pull out your chair. you set the bag alongside your backpack on the tabletop before dropping down in the seat. “what happened last night?”
“so-” she’s interrupted by a loud noise.
you both look towards the door and watch as griffin strolls through, a big smile on his face. he heads directly for you and gestures to the bag. you wave your hand, “you can have it.”
“sweet!” he says, taking the bag off your table and placing it on his which was directly beside your own. he had wasted no time in devouring the sandwich, eating so fast you weren’t even sure he had time to taste it. he looks back at you after reaching for his water, “do you have a pencil i can borrow? i’ll give it back.”
“no you won’t,” you shake your head and hand him your backpack, not feeling like rooting through for a pencil you knew you weren’t going to need because you were supposed to be doing essays today. you focus your attention back on angela, “i’m sorry. what were you saying?”
to you, the matter wasn’t that interesting. angela had been talking to some guy who went to syracuse and had said that he could get you into some party that weekend, but, to be honest, getting into a college party was dead last on your list of pressing matters.
the morning seemed to drag on forever and when it finally reached noon, you were rushing towards the doors so that you could make a phone call to your doctor’s office to schedule an appointment to confirm that you were indeed pregnant.
you were walking down the hallway when a call of your name stops you in your tracks. you turn and find griffin jogging towards you and he throws an arm around your shoulder, walking you towards the door, “what’s-”
“i, um, i saw the box in your bag when i grabbed a pencil this morning,” he says, lowering his voice so that no one would hear him. you stop in your tracks, but he keeps you moving, “no, don’t look weird. i’m not mad or anything. it’s really none of my business, but have you, like, confirmed it or whatever.”
“i’m going to when i leave here,” is all you can say. your heart was pounding so loudly you could hear it and you were almost positive that griffin could as well.
“ok. come over for dinner and we can talk about it. mom’s gonna make your favorite,” he stops in front of the door, the look on his face telling you that he would not be taking no for an answer. you swallow before nodding, “okay?”
“okay.”
you knew within a couple of hours after leaving griffin in the hallway that the test was correct, you were due to have a child soon. even as you stared at the paper with the test results, you still couldn’t find it in you to cry.
after dinner, spaghetti with homemade meatballs, griffin quickly rushed you to his bedroom, warding off ava who was trying to wrangle you into her bedroom to watch some movie that no one else wanted to watch. you take refuge on his bed, grabbing a pillow and shielding your stomach with it. griffin takes notice and he sighs, collapsing beside you, “so, we’re having a baby.”
“we are not. i’m having a baby,” you mumble in hopes that no one would hear the two of you, “i think. i don’t fucking know. i’ve got to tell the dad at some point-”
“you don’t have to act like i don’t know, y/n,” he looks up at the ceiling. you gulp and he grins, “i’m not oblivious. i know that you and trevor hooked up over the summer. is it his?”
your silence gives him his answer. it’s quiet for a few minutes before you speak up, “i didn’t mean to get pregnant. i swear.”
“i believe you, y/n. i’m not mad at you about hooking up with my brother or being pregnant. it’s weird, sure, but i’m not mad,” he assures and you nod, pulling at the sleeves of your shirt. “are you going to tell him?”
“i don’t even know if i’m going to-” you trail off and he nods in understanding. “i just- i want time to figure things out. that’s all i want right now. please don’t tell him or anyone. besides my doctor and the woman at the drug store, you’re the only person who knows.”
“this is not my secret to share.”
-
you honestly tried to tell him. you typed out the four short words that should have kickstarted the rest of your life: we need to talk, but you could never follow through with sending them. you would see his snapchat stories and instagram posts every now and then, having fun and living life in massachusetts while you were back in new york, pregnant with his child that he knew nothing about.
he was doing all right without you and you were getting along just fine without him.
as wrong as it was, it was easy to hide from him. he didn’t come home often and you had no reason to be in boston, so when he was around, you just made sure that you weren’t. your son was born in february while trevor was still at college. when he unexpectedly came home in march, it was even easier to keep it from him because you weren’t supposed to be going anywhere.
griffin had done well in keeping his promise. he only slipped and told one person, his mother, and you really couldn’t blame him. one simply did not keep a secret from julie zegras.
she wasn’t mad, just disappointed that you were trying to keep it a secret which you understood, and fell into the role of being a grandmother quite easily. after you had given birth with your mother by your side, she had come to meet her grandson. her finger rubbed over his cheek as she sat across from you.
“he looks just like him,” she muttered, “he’s going to know, y/n.”
and he did.
as much as you wanted to, there was absolutely no denying that landon was trevor’s son. griffin had thought the same thing when he saw him for the first time and gave you a look that told you as much, to which you responded with a whispered “please don’t.”
as the months continued to pass and summer quickly arrived in bedford, you still hadn’t uttered a word to trevor. he didn’t reach out to you and you worked overtime to avoid him. the more that landon grew, the easier it was beginning to be for those who didn’t already know to start to piece two and two together, which only increased the likelihood of trevor finding out significantly.
you had barely had time to put your car in park before julie was rushing out of the front door. she opens the door to the backseat and makes a pleased noise, “good. he’s awake.”
you open your door and watch as she gets the car seat out. you grab your bag and follow her inside, “he wanted to see his favorite person.”
“who? me?” griffin rounds the corner and walks into the kitchen just as julie sits the car seat on top of the counter. griffin waves his fingers at the baby, “hi buddy. did you miss me?”
landon makes a noise like he’s about to cry and you and julie share a look before bursting into laughter. julie undoes the clips and pulls him out, resting him on her hip as she fixes the little hair that he had atop his head, “don’t take it personally, griffin.”
“he cries every time he sees me. it’s a little hard not to,” he scoffs before looking at you, “guess what?”
“what? has using my child finally gotten you a date?” you tease, taking a seat at the island and crossing your arms over your chest.
“no. he’s got the potential to be an excellent wingman, but for some strange reason, seventeen-year-old girls don’t really like babies. you don’t count. you’re eighteen now and he’s your son. you have to like him,” he points an accusatory finger at you when you open your mouth to speak. you raise your hands in surrender, letting your eyes wander over to where julie was showing landon the magnets on the fridge. “anyway, we got landon a pool. minor issue though, louie kind of thinks that it’s for him because that’s what we had to tell trevor.”
“like a kiddie pool?” you ask and griffin clicks his tongue. you raise an eyebrow, sparing a glance towards your son when he squeals, “you know he’s not even five months old yet, right?”
“he can sit in it and splash around though. he loves doing that. i’ve bathed him before and it’s got to be his top three favorite activities along with eating and screaming at me,” griffin rolls his eyes and you smirk.
“i mean, he doesn’t have any of those swim diaper things-”
“and that’s exactly why we bought him some. don’t even try to argue with me right now, y/n. he is getting into the damn pool,” griffin argues and julie reaches over to smack him on the back of the head. “sorry, but you get my point.”
“i guess i do,” you stretch your arms before standing up. “let me go and change him.”
“i hid the diapers in the back of my closet,” you send griffin a questioning look. he shrugs, “i’m running out of places to hide baby things okay.”
you swallow thickly as a quietness takes over the room. you knew that you were asking a lot of them to keep such a big secret from their son and brother and that weighed heavily on you.
the silence is broken by landon who sputters and you grin as you take him from julie. you tickle his side and he giggles, “are you blowing bubbles, buddy? you’re so cool.”
he rests his head on your shoulder as you walk towards griffin’s room. his fingers curl in your shirt as he takes a deep breath. you find the diapers exactly where griffin had said they would be (along with what you were sure was going to be your birthday present and a few other questionable items) and lay landon down on griffin’s bed.
louie had slipped in behind you and had easily jumped on griffin’s bed as well, planting himself beside the four-month-old. his wet nose touches landon’s temple and he squeals in response. you push louie back gently, “careful, lou. i know he’s your person but you can’t be smelling him like that. it freaks him out.”
louie huffs but lays his head down regardless, watching you carefully. you take him out of his outfit and change his diaper for one of the swim ones. you blow a raspberry on his stomach and he grabs at your hair, “are you so excited to get in your pool?”
you heard some conversation coming from the kitchen and some footsteps heading towards where you were. you pick landon up, assuming that it was ava or griffin, and pat at louie’s head when he walks up to you. the door opens and you don’t turn around as you speak, “honestly griffin, if it’s any consolation, i think he dislikes louie as much as he dislikes you.”
when there’s no response, you turn around to find that it wasn’t griffin who was standing at the door. trevor’s eyes are almost blazing as he looks between you and landon, connecting the dots. you wrap your arm tighter around your son, “he’s not yours.”
“bullshit,” trevor booms and you look away. “if it’s not mine, whose is it then?”
“i-” you can’t even formulate a sentence and he scoffs.
“that’s what i thought,” he shakes his head and scoffs. you avoid his eyes, “when?”
“if we’re going to talk about this, can we please not do it in front of him,” you pull your son’s head into your shoulder, trying to shield him from the view of his father who was rightfully angry with you. “griffin was going to put him in the pool. let me take him out there and then you can go off on me.”
silently, he steps aside to let you walk back into the kitchen. julie and griffin are sharing the same nervous look as you round the corner. ava makes the unfortunate decision to come down the stairs at that point. “what’s going- uh-oh.”
“my god, is there anyone in this house that didn’t know besides me?” everyone’s silence gives him the answer to his question. “great, okay. the fucking dog knew before i did.”
“trevor-” julie starts and you shake your head.
you hand landon off to griffin who has a bottle of baby sunscreen in front of him. you rub at landon’s soft cheek as he looks at you curiously, knowing that your mood was off. you don’t look at griffin as you speak, “take pictures for me, yeah? he loves water.”
“of course,” griffin says before getting everyone to follow him outside. ava sends you a look and julie mouths an apology before the doors close and you’re left alone with trevor for — what you come to realize — is the first time in a year.
still not speaking to you, he starts up the stairs to his bedroom and you follow behind, shutting the door behind you. you stand there awkwardly, playing with your fingers as you look around. it hadn’t changed since the last time you had been in it, which was the night that you were almost certain you got pregnant.
he turns and looks at you, gesturing to his bed, “you can sit down. you’re not a stranger here.”
you know that it wasn’t meant to be a reference to what you two used to do, but your cheeks still burn as you sit on the edge of his bed. you look at him then, only to find him already staring at you. you shrug your shoulders, “what do you want to know?”
“it’s mine?” he asks again and you nod.
“he’s a boy, so please stop saying ‘it.’ call him landon if you want.”
“you always wanted a boy,” trevor mumbles and you couldn’t help but grin because it was true. ever since you were little you had said time and time again that you wanted at least one boy and even though he came earlier in your life than you had planned, you were grateful that he had. “when were you gonna tell me about him?”
“honestly, trev, never,” you say and he lets out a long breath. he takes a seat at his desk chair and rubs his hands over his face, “i thought that it was for the best-”
“keeping my son from me was what you thought was best?” he looks at you incredulously. “are you serious?”
“if you’re going to shout at me, i’m leaving. i understand that you’re upset and you have every right to be, but i’m not going to sit here and be yelled at,” you announce and he mumbles an apology under his breath. “be honest with me, trevor. are you ready to be a father right now? with everything going on in your life, are you ready for that responsibility at nineteen?”
he seems to think about it, “not really.”
“okay then. our problem is solved,” you shrug.
“y/n, i want my son to know me. he needs his dad.”
“you just said that you weren’t ready to be his dad, trevor. what’s the truth? because i’m not going to have you be in and out of his life whenever you pick and choose. that’s not good or stable for him. he’s four months old, what he needs is stability,” you never thought that at eighteen years old, you would be having a conversation about what was in the best interest of your child, but here you were.
“were you ready to be a mother at eighteen? no, but you got ready to be one. i can do it too if you’ll just let me,” he rolls his chair over in front of you and reaches for your hand. his hand was warm and so were his eyes as you looked into them, searching for any hint of untruthfulness.
you had known trevor and griffin since you were all babies, you in the middle age-wise given that trevor was a year older than you and griffin almost a year younger. you had grown up neighbors and while you had moved a few miles away, your friendship remained. you had grown closer with griffin rather than trevor because as he had gotten older and his talent showed more and more, he was gone more.
“do you want to meet him?” is your rebuttal and trevor wastes no time in nodding his head. he pushes himself away from you which allows you to stand and walk towards his door. “just be aware he doesn’t really care for strangers. he’s still warming up to griffin.”
he follows you down the stairs and out onto the back porch. julie and griffin are there along with louie who is staring curiously at landon. griffin looks at you and smirks, “he doesn’t understand why he’s having to share the pool.”
“he’s greedy,” you shake your head before squatting down beside your son. you grin at him as he splashed his hand in the water, “hi bubba. there’s someone i want you to meet.”
he makes a shrill noise as you pick him up. you accept a towel from julie to dry him off as you walk over to where trevor had taken a seat on the bench. you sit beside him, adjusting landon’s hat on his head, “landon, this is trevor. trevor, this is landon.”
“hi,” trevor says, the biggest grin that you had ever seen taking over his face. landon looks between you and trevor before flailing his arm around. trevor looks at you uncertainly, “could i hold him?”
“of course,” you grin. you carefully hand landon over, holding your breath for his reaction. trevor stands him up on his legs, bouncing him just slightly. landon starts to pout and you frown, “he’s-”
“hey landon,” trevor says quietly and landon tilts his head. his hand squeezes the bracelet on trevor’s wrist. he starts to move his legs and trevor looks at you confused.
“he likes you, i think. strangers don’t usually make it this far,” you shrug your shoulders.
“that’s good then,” he smiles. landon lurches forward and he’s quick to steady him. “he looks just like me.”
“you are his dad, trev,” you look at trevor to gauge his reaction. you can hear julie when she takes a deep breath griffin laugh, but you focus on trevor.
“yeah, i am,” trevor laughs. to your surprise, landon lays his head on trevor’s shoulder and trevor looks at you again, “i think he likes me.”
griffin doesn’t miss a beat before chiming in, “well that’s just not fucking fair. i’ve known him longer than you!”
-
the anaheim conversation wasn’t one that you could avoid. it’s not that you were trying to, of course, it’s just that in the two weeks since trevor had known about his son, he had been solely focused on learning him and letting landon get acclimated to him being around, which the five-month-old had done quickly.
“so,” trevor asks one day as landon lays on his chest, knocked out for his afternoon nap. you had warned trevor about letting landon fall asleep on him, but trevor didn’t seem to mind being glued to one place for a couple of hours. “what about college? where are you going?”
“nowhere yet,” you sigh, turning your attention away from the movie that was playing, “i’m taking some time off so that i can raise him. i know that if i started now, i wouldn’t be able to focus and give him the attention that he needs.”
“that’s responsible,” he makes a face.
“i had to grow up fast, trevor. it’s not just me that my decisions affect now. i have to make the decisions that i think are best for him in the long run,” you stare at your son curled on his father’s chest. his fingers gripped the fabric of trevor’s t-shirt as a pacifier bobbed between his lips.
“well, i’ve been thinking and i want to get your opinion on something,” he was nervous, you could tell. his hand rubs up landon’s back as he looks towards you, “i- well, i know that two weeks ago i didn’t even know that he existed, but now i can’t imagine not being with him.”
“well he’s your son trevor,” you curl your toes into his thigh under the blanket you were sharing, “that’s normal.”
“i know that, but i don’t want to be away from him. what i’m asking is, would you be willing to come to anaheim with me when i go? whenever that may be,” he chuckles as landon twitches in his sleep.
“you want him to go with you? trevor i can’t-”
“no, no,” trevor shakes his head, “i want him to come with me of course, but i want you to come, too. i want you both with me. we can be together, a family.”
“a family?” you repeat and he grins, confirming with a nod. “are you sure?”
“i’ve never been more sure of anything in my life, y/n. i want to have a life with you,” the hand that rested on landon’s back moves and reaches out towards you. you grab onto his hand and he squeezes, “what do you think?”
“i think that sounds amazing.”
and for a while it did.
both your mother and trevor’s were hesitant given how young you both were, but they slowly came to terms when they figured out neither of you were changing your minds.
you made it to anaheim a few weeks after trevor had and began to settle into the apartment he had gotten for the two of you. it was in a safe place and it had paths to take landon on walks which were at the top of the list that you had given him.
landon loved going down to the beach and letting the sand fall through his fingers. your heart swelled every time he would pick some up and look at you like it was the most amazing thing in the world, which to him it probably was.
your time was mostly spent with landon alone which you couldn’t be upset about because a major part of trevor’s job was to travel, but when he started spending his nights elsewhere when he wasn’t gone on a road trip, that’s when things started falling apart.
you didn’t want to be the partner who asked him where he going every time that he left out of the front door, but when you had to watch him get ready for the third night in a row, that’s when you spoke up, “where are you going?”
“out,” was his response. he pulls out a jacket from the closet and turned to look at you, “why?”
“because you’ve been home for four days and you’ve gone out every night, trevor,” you lean against the doorway as he slips on his shoes. “i shouldn’t have to ask you to stay home and see your son.”
“he’s asleep, y/n. he’s not even going to notice that i’m gone,” he shakes his head and you let him leave the bedroom before following him down the hall. “it’s not that big of a deal.”
“it is when you don’t come back until the morning and you leave before he wakes up. then you come back during his nap and only see him for a few hours before you’re gone again,” your eyes follow his fingers as they grab his keys from the hook. he pulls open the door and you utter the words that make your stomach twist, “i promise you, if you walk out of that door, i’m not going to be here when you get back.”
he gives you his attention then and you can tell by the look in his eyes that he was thinking about it, whether you were serious or not, but not a moment later does he shake his head and let the door close behind him, letting you know his decision.
you could hear his car door slam before he starts the engine, pulling out of the driveway to wherever the hell he would rather spend his time. you stand there frozen as your world crumbles around you. you feel the tears well up in your eyes and you wipe them away.
he wasn’t worth it.
you grab your phone, dialing your mother’s number and leaning against the couch for stability. she answers almost immediately and you feel bad because you still had not adjusted to the time difference between the east and west coasts, “can i come home for a little bit?”
“what happened?” you hear her rustling in the background.
“i’m just- i’m tired mom. i don’t want to be here anymore and i’m sure he doesn’t want us here either,” you leave out the major details, knowing what it would do to her. you really were not in the mood to hear her tell you that she was right.
“let me catch a flight out there and i’ll drive back with you, okay?”
“i need to leave now, mom. i don’t want to be here when he gets back,” you explain, and after much back and forth and though apprehensively, she agrees not to book a flight.
you don’t feel anything as you pack your bag, careful not to mess with trevor’s things. it’s when you walk into landon’s room and find him sleeping so peacefully, so unaware of what was happening in his little world that you let the tears fall down your face. you pack your car before you get him out of his crib, making sure to grab his favorite stuffed animal and blanket before closing the door behind you. you walk through the kitchen making sure that you had what you needed before walking out of the front door for the last time.
you didn’t leave a note, your key and a pacifier on the kitchen counter was the only goodbye that he would get from you.
you were thankful that landon was a heavy sleeper. he barely stirred as you buckled him into his car seat or shut the door. you put in your mother’s home address before putting your car in reverse.
you were almost to colorado when your phone started ringing, his name popping up at the top of your screen. you couldn’t block him until you stopped for breakfast, not reading any of the texts he had sent or listening to any of the voicemails he left.
landon laughs as you feed him a bite of pancake, throwing a crayon on the ground. you set your phone down and look at him with a smile, wondering how something so sweet could just make you forget everything wrong in your life.
-
you swallow, “why do you think that i left, trevor?”
“i don’t know, y/n. i’ve been asking myself that question for a week now and i can’t come up with an answer that makes sense. we were fine and then you were gone,” he looks confused and hurt, emotions that you had grown to know all too well. emotions that he himself had caused.
“you can’t be serious,” you shake your head, crossing your arms over your chest. “how long did you think i’d let it go on? or are you just that full of yourself that you didn’t even see what you were doing to us? what you were doing to your son?”
“i don’t understand-”
“when you found out about landon, you made a promise to me that you would be a father, that it would take some time, and i believed you. i left everything to follow you to anaheim when you asked me to so that we could be together as a family, but it was the worst mistake that i have ever made,” you go quiet as your coffee is sat in front of you. you don’t touch the sandwich. “you genuinely can’t think that i was going to stay with the way that you were behaving.
“you have a child, trevor. you can’t just come and go as you please. every decision that you make, it affects him even when it doesn’t seem like it. that was something that i had to learn quickly.
“i was eighteen when he was born. i missed out on my entire senior year and going to college with my friends to raise him and i didn’t complain, not once. you got to have a senior year. you got to go to college without having to worry about someone else. you were one-track-minded on playing hockey, but that should’ve changed the moment that you found out about landon. instead, you decide to fuck off with your friends to new hampshire instead of going to your son’s doctor’s appointment and you didn’t even tell me. i had to find out from your mom when you wouldn’t answer my phone calls, trevor,” you scoff, looking at the wall behind him, “i should’ve backed out then.”
“i’m twenty years old, y/n,” he looks at you like he was shocked at your admission. “i want to go out and have fun.”
“and you think that i don’t? you aren’t understanding, trevor. we have a child. he depends on us. we can’t just run around and be kids anymore, we have a gigantic responsibility. you don’t get to stop being a parent just because going out with your teammates is more fun. believe me, i would love to go out with my friends whenever i wanted to, but i can’t.”
“i have to establish myself-”
“was it worth losing your family?” you ask and he freezes. you raise an eyebrow, “was going out for drinks and to play video games with your teammates worth losing your family, trevor? i want to know.”
“what do you mean ‘losing my family’?”
“did you think that i was going to come back and pretend like nothing happened? that we could just go on with our lives?” he gives you a ‘duh’ look. “i know you. if i did come back, you would keep doing the same shit and we would keep fighting. it’s a vicious fucking cycle and that’s not the environment that i want my son to grow up in and you shouldn’t want that for him either.
“i promise that i’m not going to keep him from you, i would never do that. i know that you love him and he loves you too, but i think that it’s in his best interest that we don’t play pretend because that’s going to mess him up in the long run.”
“so that’s it then?” he asks.
“the only thing changing is that i’m not going to be there when you get home-”
he interrupts you with an annoyed look, “or that we’re together.”
“were we ever together? or were we just fuck buddies who put on a show for everyone?” you ask and he avoids your eyes. “deep down, you have to know that we’re no good for each other and this is for the best. i’m not trying to hurt you, but you’re not ready for this and that’s obvious.”
he watches you as you push your chair back and grab your things, “what do you want me to do then? if you’re staying here.”
you spare him a final glance as you shrug your shoulder, “trevor, what i want is for you to figure your shit out, but i’m just tired of waiting for you to do it. you wanted your freedom and i’m giving it to you. have fun, trev. be twenty. that’s what you’ve always wanted to do anyway and now you don’t have us to worry about anymore.”
though you weren’t even sure that he ever did.

CW: I’m bad at writing pregnancy stuff,
first part: here
previous part: here
Before you knew it, you'd been on your own for almost four months. God, it's been so long. You thought with a bit of fear as you drove home from the store in the swiftly waning light of evening, glancing at the passengers seat where bags of all of the supplies you had looked up for having a home birth. Which wasn't going to be fun, but going to a hospital meant paperwork and being kept in one place for an unknown amount of time, easily trackable, not to mention the hospital birth records would be perfectly accessible to the Zoldycks, meaning they could track down your baby. So, you were just going to bite the bullet and do it yourself. On the bright side, I have about 2 months to prepare and learn, so things will go great. You told yourself, sending a quick prayer to any god listening that you didn't face any complications, because you'd only gone to one doctor's appointment for the baby, and while it didn't show any bad omens for the birth, that had been ages ago, so you weren't really sure of how healthy your baby currently was. Though, some of that anxiety was more-so from the small changes you'd begun to notice in these last few weeks. It wasn't anything major, mostly cramping, more backpain, and exhaustion, but good ol' google had told you these may be signs of pregnancy. Hence the evening trip to the store for all of the things you lacked at home for a home birth. You hoped you were just being overly cautious, but you couldn't be too sure. Despite that though, you did your best to stay positive and just went about collecting your shopping as carefully as you could and waddling up to your nasty little apartment. You were pretty happy at the bottom of the stairs, on edge, as always when the place you lived had so many sketchy people that their aura seemed as engrained in the carpet as the mystery stains on your bedroom floor, but your mood instantly fell when you got to the top of the stairs. You stood there, heart racing, (e/c) eyes wide and frantically searching for any reason as to why you were suddenly so nervous. After all, you'd worked through this level of anxiety in your first month there, you should have a better handle on it than this, but then it clicked. It's too quiet. You realized, putting a hand on the banister to steady yourself as the dread hit you. Your apartment building was still bustling with noise, from neighbors having sex loudly, to someone's kids getting into a shrieking match, those noises were pretty mundane to you now, but something still felt too calm. Like that moment in movies right before the murderer attacks. Calm down, everything's fine. You told yourself, taking a deep breath or two to try and wait for the wave of paranoia to ebb. One of the neighbors probably just has some sort of guest over. Or maybe some strong nen user passed by, I'm sure it has a reasonable explanation. You continued to reassure yourself, but the feeling didn't pass. Some voice inside of you just kept screaming about something being way too off, maybe it was your survival instincts, maybe it was simply your paranoia acting up, either way you decided to trust your gut. So, you compromised with yourself. You gathered your bags and unlocked your apartment to place them in, ensuring they'd be safe when you returned tomorrow, than you made your way back down to the foyer as swiftly as you could manage while heavily pregnant.
"Are you alright, miss?" A man suddenly asked, making you yelp, but when you looked over, it was just some dark haired man with a cross-shaped tattoo of sorts on his forehead sitting at the guard's seat. You'd never seen him before, but you tried your best to not be impolite. At worst, he was some sort of spy for Illumi, but if he wasn't and he was just one of the many sketchy guards that worked for the apartment building, you still didn't want to offend him. So, you laughed a bit, clasping your hands over your stomach to hide how badly you were shaking,         "Yeah, I'm fine. I just realized I'd forgotten something in my car, don't want it stolen." you said in a shakey but kind voice, which made the man snort a bit,        "Would you like me to go out there for it? I promise not to steal anything," he offered, his grey eyes sparkling with mischief while he was oddly amused by his own words, but you shook your head, brushing any stray strands of (h/l), (h/c) hair from your face as you spoke,         "No thank you, but I a-appreciate your offer." with that, you made a beeline for the door, swiftly stepping outside and taking a deep breath of the fresh spring air. All at once, your anxiety began to wane, which you were immensely thankful for. Slowly, you let out a breath and waddled over to your car, ignoring the pinching cramping sensation that had plagued you for about a week now and just deciding to sit outside in your car for a while and maybe sleep there for the night since the upstairs of your building felt so weird. However, when you got to the vehicle, you pulled at the handle and nothing happened. When you tried a second time, the same thing happened, the door didn't budge. To make thing worse, you couldn't seem to find your keys when you checked your pockets.          "Of course, it'd be just my luck that I'd lose my damned keys and lock myself out of my car." you muttered, leaning against the car and resting your head against the window, trying your best to think up a second alternative to going back inside when you heard it. The single voice you wanted to never hear again,        "I must admit, you're a lot more resilient than I first thought." Illumi hummed, and before you could even think to react, he trapped you against the car, slamming his hands into the window so hard you heard it begin to crack. You shrieked and pressed your back against the car, less scared of getting cut on the glass than you were of Illumi, but instead of getting killed with his aura, or manhandled into some unmarked van, or hell, even being yelled at like you'd expected, you simply felt him brush a stray tear you didn't realize you'd shed from your (s/c) cheek, and when he did speak, he was as calm and unreadable as ever,          "You had me highly worried these past few months," he said, pushing himself off of your car and looking you over, keeping one of his hands on you in some fashion the whole time, just in case you tried to bolt or fight him off, but you never did, you'd frozen in a mix of terror, defeat, and a dizzying sense of warped relief that nearly made you nauseous. "Now, you're coming home and we are going to have a nice, calm, talk about your mistake and how you can fix it." he said, grabbing you by the wrist to lead you away. However, when his words finally sunk in, you were filled with another sense of frantic determination, refusing to move as best you could while your (e/c) eyes welled with tears again, though that was more from the pain of Illumi tightening his grip on your poor captive wrist when you resisted.           "No!" It came out a lot more forceful than you expected, "No! I don't want to go back a-and subject any child to whatever torture created you!" Finally, it was your words that earned a pause, and when you looked up to his face you saw a mixture of hurt, annoyance, and a shred of understanding flit across his doll-like facial feature ever so slightly.          "(y/n), you need to calm down. You're growing hysterical and you're going to hurt yourself trying to fight me. Just relax and come home." He ordered, but you shook your head and continued to resist as best you could, which thankfully worked since the assassin didn't want to purposely hurt you         "No! Just let me go, please! K-kill me if you must, but I don't want to go back!" you cried, and in a frantic attempt to get away, you pulled at your wrist as hard as you could, and by sheer luck, actually slipped through Illumi's grip. Sadly, your luck was spent with that last trick, so your attempts to get into the apartment building and maybe get help from the guard were quickly thwarted. Some part of you thought that maybe you could get away from Illumi Zoldyck again, but failed to realize he was a lot faster than you, even if you weren't about-to-burst pregnant. In a hope-crushing flash, he'd grabbed you again, wrapping his arms around your torso to yank you back against him and holding you there with one arm while his free hand captured your wrists to stop you from frantically flailing.             "(y/n), if you do not calm down right now, I will get the doctor to use sedatives on you." he warned, his voice low and dripping with foreboding, which, if you had any fight left in you, washed it away like he had the first day of your escape. However, you'd gone still for another reason.              "I-Illumi, let me go," you squeaked, your heart pounding so hard you didn't think you'd be able to hear his reply,              "Absolutely not." He then tried to lift you up a bit so he could move you, but you wriggled              "No! P-please listen, Illumi!" You plead, "I-I think my water just broke!"

Tumblr media
Weeks passed, and everything was being dragged back up. New statements, new interviews. Alex was pulled in again, but this time he had both you and Brady with him and he was treated with respect. No asshole like Baker trying to stonewall him into some kind of a confession. “We just want to be sure this statement is correct, given everything that Baker’s done. Just a formality, I promise.”
New detectives and new experts poured over every detail of Dean’s arrest and the so-called case Baker was trying to build around the idea of Dean murdering your first husband.
You were brought back in the room yourself, asked why Baker had it out for Dean, why he was so sure Dean had killed your first husband. You were honest with that fact that you had no idea but you were scared. Baker scared you. Then you opened your phone, went to a picture and slid it across the table.
“When was this?”
“Yesterday morning. Around 11. I went out to check the mail and there he was.” It had scared you to find Baker parked outside, eyes boring into you. You had kept your eyes locked on his as you brought up your phone, snapped a picture and then called Brady. “I’d like to file a police report of continued harassment despite a restraining order. This isn’t good for my pregnancy. My doctor is worried.” You then slipped them a note from your doctor about the stress.
“Can I get a copy of this picture?”
“Of course.” They handed you your phone back and you were given an email to send the photo to.
Tumblr media
Days turned to weeks as interviews continued, evidence was questioned and each and every lie Baker told was revealed. The stress of it all had gotten to be too much, your doctor putting you on temporary bedrest. All information about the case went through Sam, and you only heard bits and pieces of the good stuff, only things that would give you hope.
You saw Azazel a few times since that day in the grocery store. You’d walked out of your last doctors appointment to find him in the waiting room, eyes on you as you hurried past, Sam's hand on your lower back to keep you calm. Dean got a picture of that, too.
But since then, nothing. No Azazel, no Baker. Sam said Baker was under surveillance, and Azazel was now being hunted for betraying the patch. Apparently, someone had dropped a video of the arrest at the garage on their doorstep and they finally listened to what Dean had been telling them. One of their top guys was working the other side. And word was getting around fast.
Tumblr media
It was another quiet day. Alex was at school, Abby was napping and you were relaxing in bed with a book while Sam headed out on a quick errand. Something about needing to pick something up for dinner, but he’d be back by the time Abby woke up. He promised. You hadn’t minded. Sam had been stuck to you like glue for so long now you relished the time alone. Finally.
The words started to blur, your eyelids getting heavy. Letting the book fall from your hand, you rolled onto your side, pulling the pillow close and letting yourself drift off to sleep.
A piercing sound snapped you awake and panic instantly set in. A fire alarm. Your fire alarm. It sounded like it was coming from downstairs. Getting up, you rushed down and followed the sound to the kitchen. You expected to find Sam cooking but instead found your stove on fire.
You were confused, how could that have happened, no one else seemed to be home and unless you slept walked down and then back to bed, it hadn't been you. You ran to yank open the cupboard under the kitchen sink and pulled out the fire extinguisher, working as fast as you could to get the fire put out.
As the flames died, you noticed something on your stove. A hand towel. It was mostly burned, some blackened shreds all that remained. You looked around the kitchen, looking for anything else out of place but found nothing. Brutus was barking wildly at the back door, desperate to get inside as his claws scratched against the glass every time he jumped against it. You had forgotten he’d been let out before you laid down.
You sighed with relief despite the uncertainty. You were just glad it was out, that no one was hurt. But before you could relax, let alone let Brutus back in, another smoke detector started going off. This time, upstairs.
“Abby!” Running as fast as you could back for the front stairs, you almost fell when he stepped out in front of you, blocking you off from the stairs and the front door. “Move.” You threatened, fire extinguisher clutched tight in your hands. He didn’t move, didn’t say a word, just gave you that cold dead stare he seemed to always be giving you. Your eyes shot to the stairs, this time a click of his tongue grabbed your attention over the sounding alarm and Abby’s cries.
“Don’t even think about it.”
Screaming, you went to take a swing at him with the fire extinguisher, but he far too easily knocked it from your hands. Then he swung, the back of his hand hitting your cheek hard. So hard in fact, that you fell to the floor, eyes wide with shock and fear.
“Why are you doing this to me? I didn’t do anything to you.. Please.. Please, just let me get to my daughter. Let me get her out. You want me, you can have me, please.. Just let me save her.”  He just stepped closer, no answer, no change in his face at all. You tried to get up anyways, and he just hit you again. “WHY!?” you screamed at him as tears ran down your cheeks.
You were scared, you were terrified, it was that day all over again in your head, but just like that day you had a child to protect. You could hear Abby’s screams and it was killing you that you couldn’t get her, protect her.
“Because Dean Winchester deserves it.”
“FUCK YOU!”  A boot came up in a kick, and you twisted yourself enough that the side of your ribs took the brunt of it instead of your stomach, but it didn’t stop you from crying out in pain.
Then he was leaning over you. “I’m going to make you hurt. I’m going to make it hurt so fucking bad you can’t move.” he smiled at you. “Then I’m going to watch your house burn down around you. Watch as that son of yours finds you. Then kill him too.” You shifted, ready to try fighting back, take a swing, anything, but he grabbed your face by the cheeks in one hand and put a gun to your head which effectively stopped any and all plans.  “Then I’m going to wait. I don’t care how long it fucking takes, I’m going to wait. I want to see the look on his fucking face when he comes home to nothing. Because that piece of shit husband of yours took everything from me.”
Your eyes shot to the stairs again, Abby’s screams louder than anything to your ears, and he pushed the gun harder against your temple bringing your attention back to him. His gaze locked on yours.
Suddenly his face changed, and there was a blur of someone running past and up the stairs. Sam. You’d know that giant frame in a plaid button up anywhere. He was going for Abby, he was going to save her. Nothing else mattered.
Until you looked up and behind the man who still held a gun to your head. You couldn’t stop the tears that welled up all over again. “Let go of my fucking wife.” he growled out, a gun of his own in his hand and pressing into Azazel's skull.
“You’re going to have to kill m-”
You flinched as the shot rang out and blood splattered onto your face. You sat there stunned for a moment, not sure he was real as the body hit the floor. “Dean?”
“Surprise?” he gave you a half smirk.
“Dean!” you got up as fast as you could, throwing yourself against him not caring about the blood. You clung to him and cried.
“It's okay, baby. I’m home.” His arms wrapped around you almost just as tight. “You know I wouldn’t let anything hurt you.”
Then Sam down the stairs, Abby in his arms. “Here.” he told you. “Take her outside. Your bed’s on fire.” Your eyes shot to Dean.
“I’m not going anywhere, baby.” He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead and you grabbed Abby before heading out front.
You stood there, your forehead against hers as you cried. You had been so scared you’d lose her, so scared that you’d be stuck there listening to her die. That that would be what you died with in your head.
“Mom!?” Alex rushed over and you started crying even harder. “What the fuck happened?” He asked, ignoring Ash who hurried past and into the house. “That’s it, I’m out of school, I’m not fucking leaving you again!”
“You’re going to school, end of discussion.”
Alex’s head snapped up towards the voice. “Dean!” he rushed from you to Dean, who smiled and opened his arms. There was a moment of quiet between them before Alex pulled back. “What happened!? Why does mom have blood on her?”
“Better come inside and get cleaned up, baby.” You looked over at Dean, still so afraid. “Fire’s out. You're safe now.”
“Fire!?” Alex shot  a panicked look to you and Abby, then hurried into the house and froze before getting too far. When you walked in, he was looking down at the body on the ground before he looked back up and met your eyes. “What the hell happened, mom?”
“He wanted to kill us. All of us, watch the house burn down around us so Dean would have nothing left to come home to. I thought I’d lose Abby.”
Alex turned to Sam. “I was getting Dean. Judge ruled last night he was to be released. He wanted it to be a surprise. I should have got dad to come stay with you while I was gone, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay.” you tried to reassure him, let him know that you didn’t blame him for this. Your voice probably wasn’t very convincing, at least not right now, not with all the pain and fear you were still processing, but you really didn’t blame Sam. “My protector showed up, right on time.” You looked up at Dean, letting him lean in and kiss you gently.
“Always, baby. I’ll always do everything in my power to keep you safe.” You gave him a small smile. “Now, get that ass up to the showers and then you’re on the couch. You’re supposed to be on bedrest.” Dean gave your ass a slap with a smirk.  “Sammy, get dad on the line, tell him to get his ass over here and not to come alone. I need this mess cleaned. Alex and I are going to head out to get a new bed. Ash, you’re on babysitting duty.”
“Aye, aye, captain.” Ash mock saluted, making Dean roll his eyes.
“Baby, my jacket?”
“Where you left it.”
With another sweet and tender kiss, Dean headed upstairs and back into his bedroom. He ignored the blackened and burned bed at first, reaching into his closet and pulling out leather. It felt good to wear it again, to feel the weight of it and the patches stitched to it. His jaw tightened as he looked at the bed his children had been conceived in, the bed he’d made love to you in countless times, the bed you had been sleeping in just an hour ago. Azazel might be dead, but it didn’t end there.
And Dean had every intention of ending it.
Tumblr media
He knew they were coming for him and he knew they’d be coming soon. He had to get away, he had to get out of town, out of the country. He needed to vanish for a while. Anything to stay out of prison. There was no way he’d survive it. Moving the curtain aside, he peeked out of the motel room and at the car he’d bought last night with cash parked directly outside. It was 2pm, and while the streets weren’t empty, everything was pretty quiet outside the Motel.
Perfect.
Baker grabbed his meager belongings, tucked his handgun into the back of his jeans, and rushed out to his car, eyes darting around as he hurried to the trunk and opened it, tossing his bag in. As he slammed the trunk shut, something was placed over his head that plunged him into darkness and he started to panic.
Tumblr media
When he came to again, it was dark and he couldn’t move. His hands were tied behind his back, his feet tied together. He tried to get his bearings. He could hear the low rumble of an engine, the vibrations of a car driving down a highway. He knew he was in a trunk, now he just needed to find the tail lights and kick them out. Shifting around to give himself the space was difficult as he realized something else was in there with him, something big that smelt faintly of blood. He grunted when he hit his head and felt a small trickle of blood. “Shit.” he cursed and started kicking, hoping to meet his mark.
Suddenly, everything stopped, everything was quiet. Despite being in the dark under whatever was still over his head, his eyes frantically darted around as he tried to listen for what would come next.
Doors. Two of them, opening and closing, one on each side of the car.  Foot steps, but faint. So he wasn’t on a solid road anymore, and not on gravel either, or a floor or the foot falls would have more sound to them. A field?  Shit shit shit. A field meant open space. Even if he could get away and run, he’d be an easy enough target to shoot down.
The trunk opened, and hands reached in, yanking him out. He tried to fight them, tried to do what he could but he was put on his feet, dragged away from the vehicle and then kicked in the back of the knee forcing him to drop.
The hood was yanked off, and even though it was pitch black outside, he had to blink a few times before he could see where he was. The desert.
“You wanted to know where he was.” Baker’s head shot around and he found himself face to face with Dean Winchester. “You found him.” Dean pointed out into the desert, and Baker followed his finger. “There’s no marker, but he’s out there. He hurt her so I fucking killed him.”
Suddenly, a body was dropped down next to Baker, and he looked over to see Azazel, bullet wound to the head. Glancing up from the body, he saw Sam dusting off his hands. There was only one reason Dean would finally admit what he did. Baker wasn’t making it out of here alive.
“You hurt her.” Dean growled into his ear. “You fucking put my family in danger when I couldn’t protect them. She almost died.” Dean grabbed Baker by the hair and yanked his head back painfully. “MY DAUGHTER almost fucking died. Almost burned to death. Because of you.”
“I didn’t-”
“You did do this, Baker. You told him who they were, you knew what he would do. If I would have come home just an hour later..” Dean shook his head. “You can’t even imagine the level of hell I would have rained down on you.”
“Dean-” Dean straightened back up and put a gun to Baker's head. “Look I didn’t-” He was cut off by the bullet that ripped through his head and his body fell to the ground.
Dean was wiping down Baker’s gun that he’d just shot him with when his phone rang. Pulling it out of his back pocket, he smiled seeing your name light up his screen. “Hey, baby. You should be sleeping.”
“Woke up to pee and you weren’t back yet. Couldn’t get back to sleep. Are you going to be home soon?”
“I’ll be heading back home soon. Just finishing up something. You don’t need to worry, baby. No one’s ever going to hurt you again. Your protector is home. I love you.”
“I love you too, Dean. Be careful.”
“Always am.”

Telling Bill - (The Irreplaceable Charlie Weasley AU)
Warnings: Charlie & Bill being excited and emotional beans 💙
Word count: 3,002
Characters: Charlie Weasley and my OC Nova from TICW which you can find here
Nova
"Your name?" The woman at the window asked.
"Nova Blackwood. I have an appointment with dr. Nightingale."
"And him?" The woman nodded toward Charlie.
"He's my fiancé."
"Okay. Go down the corridor and up the stairs to the third floor. You take a left there. The second door to the right. It has a number 14 on it."
"Thank you." I nodded my head and felt Charlie grab my hand.
"Are you nervous?" Charlie asked as we walked up the stairs.
"A little bit. Are you?"
"A little bit." He giggled.
We didn't get a chance to say anything else as the door with number 14 on it opened.
"Miss Blackwood?" The healer's eyes scanned me up and down.
"That's me." I grinned.
"Come with me." She gestured for both of us to follow her inside.
"Is this your first pregnancy?" The healer asked.
"Yes."
"Alright. You can sit there, Mr. ...?"
"Weasley." Charlie cleared his throat and awkwardly sat on the spot the doctor pointed at next to the examination chair.
"Miss Blackwood, please sit there and pull your shirt up and it would help if you unzip your pants so that we don't get the gel on them." The healer smiled softly.
"The gel?" Charlie and I questioned together.
"We will use this Muggle machine to check on the baby. It will be able to tell us when approximately you conceived, we will hear the baby's heartbeat and if you're far enough we can even find out the gender if you'd like to know, of course."
"We discussed it," I turned to Charlie, "and we'd like it to be a surprise."
"Okay, I will write that in your file. Are you ready to begin?" She looked first at me and then at Charlie.
"Ready." Charlie and I locked eyes and nodded.
“It’s going to be a bit cold, don’t get startled.” Dr. Nightingale said.
A surprised gasp left my mouth despite her warning when the object touched my belly.
“It might take a few seconds for us to find it... oh, there it is.”
Both Charlie and I looked at the screen the second a noise started to come from the machine.
“What is that sound?” Charlie was awestruck.
“That would be your fiancée’s and your baby’s heartbeats.” The doctor said, looking at the screen.
“The...the heartbeat?” Charlie’s voice shook a little as he found my hand.
“Yes, Mr. Weasley.” The healer grinned. “Now do you see that spot over there? It looks like something's moving.”
“Mhm,” I mumbled, while Charlie stood up and got closer to the screen, squinting his eyes to see what she was pointing at.
“Mr. Weasley?” The doctor said after giving Charlie a moment.
“I...I think I see it.” Charlie couldn’t hide the disappointment in his voice, not sure what he was looking at. “What is it?”
“It’s your baby.”
“What...you...we can see our baby?” Charlie jumped in the air, his voice high-pitched.
“That’s what I was showing you.” The doctor giggled.
“That’s...that’s...Nova, that’s our baby!" Charlie’s breaths were getting quicker, his chest rising and falling fast as if he’s about to hyperventilate. “It’s so tiny!” He exclaimed.
“That’s our baby.” I pressed my lips together, trying to keep it together, my eyes already glistening with tears.
“Somebody’s excited to be a dad.” Dr. Nightingale winked at me with a smile on her face.
“Yes.” I breathed, looking back to the screen to see her, I mean it, one more time.
“Whenever you’re ready, Mr. Weasley.” The doctor said gently, chuckling at Charlie who was pacing excitedly up and down the room, stopping every time he passed the screen to look at it again.
He took a deep breath, sat down, grabbed my hand, and nodded to the healer.
“So, the fetus is about 6 centimeters big, meaning you are between 12 and 13 weeks. We can’t determine the exact date of conception but today is the 30th July which would mean it had to be around the first week of May.”
“Yeah, that sounds about right.” Charlie blurted out, the skin on his cheeks matching his hair.
“The heartbeat is strong and everything looks alright, but we will be able to determine more in the coming months.” The doctor took the object off my belly and wiped the gel off it. “I will give you a list of dates with your appointments and this is for you.”
She handed, what looked like a picture, to Charlie.
“Thank you.” I smiled at her and cleaned the gel off my stomach with the paper towels next to the chair.
I zipped my pants and pulled down my shirt.
“Along with the list, I am giving you some brochures you can read to better prepare yourself for the rest of this journey. You’ll be in the second trimester soon, meaning you will start to show and your breasts will grow. If you experience any discomfort it’s completely normal and if you have morning sickness it should stop in the next week or so. If you have any worries, don’t hesitate to stop by or send us an owl.”
I nodded, thanking her again, and stood up. I looked at Charlie and giggled – he was still staring at the picture the doctor gave us.
“Char. Come on, it’s time for us to go.” I nudged him gently with my elbow and pressed a kiss on the top of his head.
He got up slowly, not taking his eyes off the photo, and allowed me to lead him outside. I thanked the doctor again and closed the door behind us.
“Nova,” Charlie finally found his voice as we were sluggishly moving down the corridor due to him still staring at the picture, “this...we’ve made this.”
“I know, Char.” I chuckled. “It’s our baby!”
“It’s our baby.” He whispered more to himself than to me.
“Come on, you’re going to make me cry.” I sniffed. “I have to meet Bill and you can stare at our child at my mum’s.”
“I...I’m sorry I’m so emotional, it’s just...it’s...”
“Beautiful?” I finished his stuttered sentence.
“Yes!”
“Don’t apologize. I was hardly keeping it together in there and I can’t wait for us to come home so I can lay down on the sofa and look at that picture until we get a new one.” I pulled him into a hug.
“Oh, can I please join you when you’ll do that?” His eyes sparkled with hope.
“Of course. We’ll cry together, I promise.”
He let out a long sigh and kissed me so hard that I stumbled backward a little.
“I love you so much!” The breath with which he said the words brushed my lips that curved into the biggest smile.
“I love you too, Charles.”
“Nova, I love you very much, but why am I here with you and not Charlie?” Bill asked with a raised eyebrow as we were walking down the street away from the house I used to call my home.
“Well, even though I am with Charlie, you have been closer to my dad than he was, you spending a summer with him in Egypt.” I smiled softly at him. “And I have something to tell the both of you and Charlie doesn’t mind if he’s not the one to tell you and I have...I have to ask you something.” I bit my lip nervously.
I have been putting this conversation off ever since Charlie and I started to talk about the wedding. I have no idea why I was so nervous and perhaps the cemetery wasn’t the best place to ask him something like this but since it would otherwise concern my dad, I decided to do it here.
“Okay, so two things.” Bill rubbed his chin, making a mental note of it.
“Did Charlie ever come here with you?” He asked gently, as we stopped in front of my dad’s grave.
“The last time he did was when we got engaged. He wanted to be the one to tell him. And when he first knew that he was going to propose, he came here without telling me to ask my dad’s permission.” I gave out a silent chuckle, reminiscing on the moment when Charlie and I came here together and he thanked my dad for giving his blessing.
I remember staring at him as if he has gone mental not knowing what was going on and I burst into tears when he told me. I know it might sound weird, but it meant a lot to me that he still considered him to be a part of my family, despite him being gone and passing away before he ever got the chance to see us be together.
“Hi, dad.” I sat on the ground next to his tombstone, wrapping my arms around my knees. “I brought Bill with me today.” I sniffed.
It didn’t matter how much time has passed, talking to him like this has always been hard and always made me cry. Ever since moving to Romania, I don’t have the chance to come and visit him often – mum and I usually do it together when I come to visit her – or I go alone when something big happens.
“I have to tell you both something – I have to tell you two things actually and both concern you and Bill.” I looked from the tombstone to Bill, whose jaw was shaking.
He carefully stepped toward me and sat next to me on the ground, pulling me in a half hug. He has never come here with me before so I understood that the way I talked to my dad startled him a bit.
“I miss you, dad, so much. So many things are happening to me, good things, and you won’t be around for any of them.” I buried my head in Bill’s shoulder. “Charlie and I told you that we don’t want a big wedding. You out of all people would be glad we decided on that.” I giggled. My dad was never big on social events.
“We are keeping it simple. I still don’t know who my maid of honor will be. Bill will be Charlie’s best man, of course.”
“Of course.” Bill sniffed, pressing me harder against him.
“We’ll have a simple ceremony, only our closest family and our friends from Egypt. Mum was joking and said that I should invite your relatives from America. Can you imagine?” I laughed. “You would protest so much at that!”
“You know that I don’t care about the whole thing that much, I just want to be married to Charlie but there is one thing that,” my voice broke and Bill started stroking my hair to calm me down, “that I wanted to be according to tradition and I can’t because you’re not with us anymore.” I sobbed, letting go of the tears completely.
“I...I know I can’t have you give me away. Maybe it’s for the best because we would both be a crying mess by the time we would finish walking down the aisle.” I giggled between my sniffs. “So I brought Bill here with me because I was hoping that you would allow him to take your place instead.”
“What?” Bill breathed and pushed me away.
“Will you, Bill? Will you give me away? I know that you’re Charlie’s best man and I did consider your dad but in the end, there is no one else I would rather walk down that aisle with and I don’t want to do it alone and...”
“You said to your dad that you would both be a crying mess and what do you think we’ll be?” His shaking jaw finally gave in and tears started running down his face.
“Is that a yes?” I asked with hope in my voice.
“Of course, it’s a yes but I don’t feel worthy of the honor. Nova, are you sure?”
I just nodded, too overwhelmed to find the words to reply. We sat there, embraced, both crying for what seemed like 15 minutes.
“Is that why you brought me here?” Bill’s voice barely audible.
“Was it inappropriate?” I pulled a bit away from him.
“No. I think it was perfect. Now come back here.” He pressed me back onto his body, ruffling my hair.
“You said that there are two things.” He whispered after a moment of silence.
“Yes.” I bit my lip and lifted my head away from his shoulder, my eyes on the tombstone again.
I needed a moment to compose myself, knowing full well that what I am about to tell them both will bring the tears back. It was enough that my dad didn’t see me start my life with Charlie, or me getting a job, or me graduating and getting engaged. Not having him at my wedding is going to be hard and was a part of why I didn’t want to make a big celebration out of it. I wanted it small and intimate as I knew my dad would want it and it suited me and Charlie better.
“Mum already knows about this, so don’t be mad that I didn’t tell you first.” I chuckled. “I know that the last time I was here I told you that we don’t have any big plans after the wedding but something changed that.”
Bill pulled away from me a little, tilting his head and listening attentively to what I am about to say.
“We didn’t exactly plan this but it happened and we are so grateful that it did and if we got the chance to do it again we wouldn’t hesitate to forget the second time around.” The biggest smile painted my face, my eyes switching from the tombstone to Bill.
“Nova...” Bill didn’t know whether he should smile or start crying again. “Are you...”
He was too overwhelmed to finish the sentence as I nodded.
“I’m pregnant.” The tears, I so desperately tried to hold in, escaped my eyes.
“Merlin’s beard, how many times are you going to make me cry today?” Bill wrapped his arms around me again and started crying into my shoulder. “I’m going to be an uncle!”
“Yes!” I exclaimed.
“How do you always manage to get me so emotional?” He shook his head, squeezing me tighter.
“I have my ways.” I giggled.
“How far along are you?”
“We were at the doctor’s today and she confirmed our suspicion that it happened in May, so about 12 weeks.”
“Suspicion?” Bill pulled away, raising an eyebrow, us sitting normally again.
“We forgot the protection spell on our anniversary.” I bit the inner side of my cheek.
“How does Charlie feel about this?” Bill asked.
“You’ll see when we get to the house. Let’s just say that you should be prepared to cry again.” I chuckled and brushed the dry tears off my cheeks.
“Yeah, he was always big on family. I can imagine he is over the roof about it.” Bill rubbed his nose with the back of his hand.
“He’s going to be a great dad.” The memory of us jumping around our living room when we saw that the test was positive, rolled in front of my eyes.
“And how are you?” Bill nudged me with his shoulder.
“I panicked at first. Mostly because I didn’t know how Charlie would feel about it but I couldn’t be happier.” I couldn’t stop the grin from spreading all over my face.
“You both secretly wanted this even though you said you wanted to wait a few more years.” He winked at me.
“We feel ready.” I nodded.
“I presume you told our family?” I nodded again. “How did mum take it?”
“She...she came around. Charlie will probably tell you all about it.” I sighed.
“Yeah, I thought it didn’t go smoothly. Nothing ever does with her.” Bill rolled his eyes.
“All your siblings and your dad made a bet though.” I laughed.
“Yeah? What about?”
“The baby’s gender. Fred and George started it.” I giggled.
“Of course, they did!” Bill joined me.
“3 Galleons,” I added.
“I want in!” Bill exclaimed. “What did Ginny bet on? She always wins the bets.”
“Ginny, your dad and Fred think it’s going to be a girl.”
“And what do you think? You seem to always be right about stuff like this too.” Bill teased.
“I...I keep calling it she.” I smiled shyly, looking down at my belly.
“Then I bet it’s a girl too.”
“What do you think my dad would say?” I turned my head to the tombstone again.
“I think he would be more than happy and proud of you.” Bill smiled. “And he would definitely bet on anything opposite of what your mum would say.”
I laughed wholeheartedly.
“You’re right. They did love to bet on things.” I felt tears gathering in my eyes again. “You’re going to be a grandpa, dad. Would you call your grandchild Pumpkin, as you did me?” I rubbed my eyes, feeling Bill’s hand making gentle circles on my back.
“I think he would have all sorts of cute nicknames for them.” I turned to Bill, his gaze on the grave.
“He loved to give nicknames.” I chuckled.
“Did I ever tell you that he called me a rising star?” Bill questioned.
“No, but Robert said that my dad wrote that you are a rising star in the Curse-Breaker community when he sent you the letter, do you remember?”
“I do. I still have that letter.” Bill lifted his chin proudly. “He was the best mentor I will ever get to have.”
“He was the best dad, too,” I whispered.
We sat there, me listening to Bill talk about the summer he spent with my dad for another 2 hours. I heard all the stories more than once, but I still loved listening to them and I couldn’t wait for mine and Charlie’s child to be big enough to listen to their uncle Bill telling them stories about their grandpa.

More Marichat fanfic because there is none in the new season yet and I’m deprived? Abso-fucking-lutely. Now I’ve read this fic about an akuma becoming everyone’s greatest fear and it becoming Marinette’s greatest fear, I’m sure you could guess, and sweeping her away. So yeah, it’s inspired by that. If you know which fic I’m talking about, feel free to tell me so I can @ the proper person and give them credit. As always Marinette is 17, Adrien is 18. I do switch perspectives so I’ll probably put a “...” when it switches. Enjoy!
——————————————
It was a surprisingly calm night in Paris. Hawkmoth had been unleashing much more akumas lately, probably to stress her out more than usual. Poor Ladybug looked so tired whenever they patrolled. He volunteered to patrol alone but she insisted that after that one incident, she would be there. He couldn’t blame her, if he’d missed an akuma battle he’d never miss a patrol again. They’d just finished up and gone home. Chat Noir leapt through the window and with a flash of green, became his civilian self, famous model, Adrien Agreste. His kwami Plagg rushed off to the cheese cabinet as usual and Adrien rushed off to brush his teeth for bed.
It wasn’t long before an akuma alert sounded on his phone and with a yawn he called his kwami and transformed. He slumped over to the window and inhaled deeply. “It’s going to be a long night.” He moped before leaving his window in one great bound. It was Sandboy again, must not have learned his lesson the first time he watched a scary movie before bed. Then again that was 3 and a half years ago so who was he to judge. He sprinted across rooftops only to see nothing, people were shouting and screaming but there was nothing infront of them. He reached out to people on the street but no one seemed to know he was there.
...
Despite the long patrol, Marinette wasn’t tired. She had taken Wayzz’s advice and napped before she left and it worked like a charm. It worked too well actually, because now she wasn’t going to get a full night’s rest. Maybe some fresh air would bring sleep her way. It was a calm night in Paris, surprisingly. She didn’t want to jinx it but she had a feeling something would happen any moment now. She really did have bad luck didn’t she? One moment the world was calm and the next, she was back in a world flooded by water. She looked around in horror as she saw the moon split in two. “No no no, not again.” She begged to no one, before clutching her spinning head
She was going to be sick, what went wrong? Where was he? That last question was answered fairly quickly as a thump from behind her rang loudly in her ears. “Hello there, Marinette.” A broken voice spoke behind her, a chill ran up her spine as well as his cold, clawed finger. He slowly dragged the claw up her back before poking into her neck, a warm liquid dripped down her shirt. “Missed me?” He cackled. “Look at me Marinette. Look at what your love did to me.” She couldn’t move, instead she stayed frozen to the spot. His hands slid around her waist and pulled her backwards so her back was flush against his chest. “Oh how you wound me my lady, maybe a cataclysm will make you notice me.” Before she could register anything he pointed a finger at her foot and a white beam crashed into it. She screamed in pain before collapsing to the floor, her leg was slowing turning to dust and it was so painful. He walked around her and bent down so they were face to face, she slowly crab crawled backwards, trying to put as much distance between them as possible. He grinned menacingly and slowly stalked towards his prey, her back hit the wall behind her. “You’ve been a bad girl Marinette, you broke my heart again.” She frantically searched for a way out but found nothing. “You won’t get anywhere without me,” he stated. She held her arms in front of her face in an attempt to shield herself. He grabbed her wrists tightly and pulled her to him, he wrapped his arms around her back and lifted her off the ground. “So how’s about I take you on a little trip, maybe a dive off the Eiffel Tower will teach you some manners.” He started running with her. She knew he was too strong for her, but never the less she pounded and kicked him trying to break free. She screamed at him to release her but to no avail. Then he said something strange, “It’s just a nightmare.” And suddenly she was back on her balcony, with a sobbing Chat Noir holding her.
...
Then came the most horrifiying scream he’d ever heard in his life. He looked towards where the sound had come from and to his horror, his eyes fixed on Tom and Sabine’s bakery. More specifically, the balcony above. “Marinette!” He couldn’t run fast enough, he felt like he’d been running for hours before he saw her sprawled across the balcony. Her eyes were wide and full of pure fear. “Mari?” He called but she didn’t answer. She looked back and forth frantically at nothing and everything while slowly backing away from him. “Hey, princess it’s me.” He reached a hand towards her and slowly approached, she couldn’t see or hear him. “Chat please, not again.” His heart sank hearing her, it sounded like she was begging for her life. His eyes swam with tears and he could do nothing more but whimper, “What do you mean again, what did I do?” His ears flattened and he fell to his knees. He was kneeling in front of her now. He had to pull himself together and save her. He swallowed thickly, trying to clear his throat. “Mari I’m not going to hurt you just please, come back.” Slowly he reached a hand towards her, but she recoiled and held her arms protectively in front of her. What was the nightmare version of him doing to her? He hesitated before grabbing both of her wrists with his hands. He slowly pulled her towards him, and wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug. He rubbed her back, it wasn’t long before she fought back. He sobbed into her shoulder as she kicked and screamed at him, “Chat let me go! Put me down! Please don’t hurt me.” He sniffed, “I won’t Mari I won’t. I promise. It’s just a nightmare.”
And suddenly the kicking and punching stopped. “Chat?” She asked, confused. He pulled back and her hands came up to cradle his face, wiping the tears from his eyes. “I, was, it was a nightmare.” She sniffed, “I, I’m ok now,”His face collapsed again and he buried his face in her neck, his tears soaking through her t-shirt. “Please don’t be scared of me princess.” He pleaded, “I’m not Chat, I don’t think that’s possible.” She chuckled slightly, he held tighter to her, as if she’d disappear if he ever let go. “Chat,” she nudged him “you need to go save Paris, you can come back after if you need to.” She was right. He nodded against her. “Just, please stay inside until I come back.” He begged. “I will, just go save everyone kitty.” He pulled back and in one final attempt to calm himself down, he kissed her on the cheek before releasing her and taking off towards the akuma.
...
She took a second to collect herself, it was a nightmare after all, it wasn’t real. This Chat, this Chat Noir was the real deal, he was right here, crying in the crook of her neck. Tears rolled down her face despite herself and she wiped her eyes quickly. “Chat you need to go save Paris, you can come back after if you need to.” She felt him nod before he pulled back and kissed her on the cheek. She blushed slightly and watched as he leapt towards the akuma.
