Cad Bane

surprisingly, this man has a lot of favorite colors. he loves warm tones the most. but his most favorite? a deep, deep wine red. sangria.

parties? absolutely not. way too many people and way too loud. unless the attention is on him, of course...

does todo count as a pet? because if so, yes he does. and no, he doesn't want any more little creatures crawling around his ship. (unless the creature is his s/o, of course.)

he doesn’t really have a favorite scent. but he does have a mint-scented candle in his ship’s bathroom. it’s never once been lit, though.

yes, he does have tattoos. or so it’s rumored...

cad bane does not need an alarm to wake up when he needs to. he wakes up at nearly the same time every morning. it is muscle memory by this point.

if this man was a flavor, i guarantee he would be lemon and kiwi. sour, but some people like that. and if you taste it long enough, it may even have some sweet undertones. <3

absolutely not. clumsiness in his field of work is detrimental.

Embo

deep, ocean blue. no real reason, he just finds the color to be calm. he likes blue eyes. if your eyes are this shade of blue, he will most certainly gaze very deeply into them.

he wouldn't go out of his way to attend parties, but if he's invited to one, he would be polite and visit for a bit. he isn't too fond of them, but enjoys being included.

of course! marrok is his most beloved companion. he isn't too loud, he's loyal, knows when embo needs him; he is easily embo's best friend. he even listens to his late night rambles when his thoughts become to much for him to bear on his own.

he really likes honey and coconut. he has a lot of coconut scented candles that he lights on special occasions.

he does have tattoos! though, i’m not sure what they would look like. any ideas?

marrok is his alarm. always wants to go to the bathroom and for a walk super early in the morning. but it’s alright, because embo is a morning person.

peach. do i have an explanation for this? no. <3

no. he was trained from a very young age to be adroit and graceful.

Bossk

he would have to think about this for quite some time. but once he makes up his mind, he will likely say that it is either brown or orange. he's indecisive.

who doesn't love a party? all the more reason to be loud and cause chaos! he's not exactly an extrovert, but he's not like embo and cad; he loves parties!

currently, he does not have a pet. but he has had a couple of hunting hounds in the past. though, his father didn't exactly allow him to care for them like they were pets. just another weapon in their arsenal for hunting. he did like them though, they were good boys.

subtle scents, anything too floral or strong just makes his head hurt. specifically he likes warm vanilla scents.

no he does not have any tattoos, but he'd like to. scales are difficult to tattoo, though. he’s not sure what kind of tattoo he would want, but he thinks he’d look cool with sleeves or a big back tattoo.

he doesn’t believe in alarms. he lets himself sleep as long as he needs. he’s partially nocturnal; and it’s not a trandoshan thing. it’s just a bossk thing.

bossk would for sure be citrus and spice.

not usually, he’s not a clumsy person. but sometimes...

Dengar

pink and purple! specifically, the pink that is verging on orange, just as the sun is setting. and royal purple, but kind of muted.

if he is invited to a party, you bet your ass he's gonna be there! even if you didn't invite him, expect him to be there. he's the life of the party, to him at least, and wants to talk to everyone there. he claims it's for "networking".

if plants count as pets, he has two. you’d have to ask him to show you, he has named them both.

dengar looooves the smell of dewy leaves and wood. it makes him feel inspired. whether that’s poetic inspiration or inspiration to cause havoc, it depends on his mood for the day.

nope, no tattoos on this guy. but he would be the most likely to get a really dumb one on a drunken whim.

he sleeps in, but he also goes to sleep early-ish. so he either wakes up at seven in the morning or two in the afternoon. there’s no in between.

dragonfruit. you can take from that what you will.

yes. yes, he is clumsy. but usually, it’s on purpose. he likes making people laugh. but he does know when he can’t be clumsy.

Sugi

green; she prefers vibrant shades like sap green over the darker sage green. however, she says that bossk's green looks like vomit.

she likes going to parties on occasion. they're like a little treat, she'll go after big jobs to celebrate. but if she knows the birthday of someone she cares about, fully expect her to go all out on it. latts will help her.

not any pets of her own, but she likes to think that marrok loves her about as much as he loves embo. close enough.

favorite scent? lavender and jasmine always calms her, and smells nice. but nothing quite like the scent of smoldering flames. she loves bonfires. maybe she’s an arsonist, but that’s a story for another day.

yep! they’re traditional iridonian zabrak tattoos.

she’s the one with a loud, obnoxious alarm clock.

if sugi were a fruit flavor, she would be warm, caramel apple.

she’s really only ever clumsy on off days. like, if she hasn’t slept much or is overly emotional.

Latts Razzi

orange!! she's super happy her hair is her favorite color, it just looks so nice with her skin and it goes great with so many outfits. blessed.

parties are okay, but she prefers higher class parties that are more like masquerades. she likes how easily she can sneak in and blend with the crowd.

she has a sizable aquarium with a bunch of beautiful, colorful fish. they all have names and she assures everyone that has seen them that the fishies have distinct personalities. they do, but it’s hard to see when you’d only known them for a few seconds.

extravagant perfumes that make her feel like the baddest bitch on the block. rose oil is also one of her favorites.

she’s never had any permanent tattoos but she loves painting her body and using body glitter. she always has a new look she wants to try out, so getting anything permanently tattooed would be something she would almost instantly regret.

her alarm clock is an elaborate, hand made carousel clock. it sings a pretty song.

mango is her fruit. sweet and juicy, full of flavor. and vibrant! who doesn’t like mango?

no, she’s nimble and moves like water.

Jango Fett

hm, he would say he doesn't have a favorite color but obviously, it's silver. just classy and he likes the way he looks in it.

it all depends on the party in question. does he know the person that invited him? is there a good reason he was invited to this party? why is there a party? he would rather throw his own party, with people he trusts.

he has had a couple of pets, all strays he took in as a young boy. he loved them all fiercely.

his ship and his place smell like an ocean. like a beach.

yes! he has ta moko on his shoulders and back.

similar to cad; he wakes up just from muscle memory. but he also sets a standard alarm, nothing special. sometimes boba wakes up before him and pesters him awake. lovingly, of course.

this man is pomelo and you know it. maybe strawberry, too.

he’s not particularly clumsy, no.

agajsksns not gonna lie being 10 feet tall sounds awesome. i have no idea how tall that is because the only thing i know about feet (that sounds so wrong) is that google is telling me that i'm 5'6 (sorry to disappoint). which is. average height right? well it doesn't feel like it coz my best friends are giants. they're both 180+ cm tall and they constantly make fun of me for being short. but honestly i win because i can always make them reach things for me.

thank you! that's very sweet, i actually only saw your reply like 20 minutes before the new year so it was right on time! i loved writing to you and waiting to hear back as well, you're a really fun person to talk to!

i know you probably won't see this for a couple of weeks before going on holiday, but have fun!

i laughed really hard at the picture my brain conjured up when reading about you dropping the vampire act and starting to pretend to be a mouse, just straight up scurrying up to the houses on all fours in a bathrobe is hilarious. i'd pay to see that. and yeah! me either. the number of times i've gone outside at night is probably like 3. that's counting that time when i went for ice cream at 11pm to the store on the other side of the street in my pajamas and then had to turn back because it apparently closes at 10 pm. that was a pretty big disappointment

a halloween themed birthday party sounds awesome! it's sort of disappointing though that you can barely remember it. the only themed birthday party i had (or at least the only one that i remember) was princess themed because i was on my princess faze back then (i was 5 or 6 i think). i still remember the sheer joy i felt at being able to wear a long fancy dress. it was brilliant

oh yeah! i'm still slightly scared of blenders because of that time. now anytime i even put my fingers close to the blade i unplug it first. also i saw you got a blender? i think we have one that's similar to the one you described. so i have a couple of suggestions! i like to make banana "ice cream". you just cut up a banana into pieces and freeze it, (i have no idea how long it takes to freeze i just generally always have frozen bananas in my freezer) then you take them out, let them sit for 10 minutes (to not break the blender when you use it) and blend them. i sometimes add frozen berries or peanut butter too! depending on what i want that day. it's great, especially because i'm slightly lactose intolerant too and i absolutely love ice cream. you can also make smoothies as you said. i usually put in mine whatever fruit we have, generally apples, bananas and oranges or grapefruits. or if i'm making one for breakfast (which i know you can't, but this is just a generally more filling option i think?) i also add spinach. you can't really feel the taste but it's supposed to be good for you and it fills you up more (it does make the smoothie super green though!). but yeah i pretty much just mix and match anything i have! also: milkshakes. ice cream, berries (optional) and milk! super easy and my little cousins love it when they visit!

ohhh your grater also seems to be out to get you. i bet it's really painful if it actually falls on your feet, because like metal. on foot. ouch. especially if it hits you with a corner! and i would definitely also get surprised every time it happened no matter how many times it did! bifocal glasses do not sound fun either tho. i would constantly forget how to use them and probably would just get headache really fast too! i get a headache from my normal glasses when i wear them (i usually wear contacts) so bifocal ones would be even worse i bet.

exactly. i had no idea what "hot" means. i thought you were supposed to use it when you thought a person was aesthetically pleasing? or like you thought they look cute? i dunno. i used it a couple of times before i realised that was not what that meant and then i was just like uhhhh yeah i'm gonna delete that word from my vocab. yeah! i think that ace and probably aro too are pretty hard to figure out because it's the lack of something.

ahahsksns i can imagine tiny Lindsey waking up on Christmas morning and running to the window expecting snow in the middle of summer and it's so funny! i can't say anything though because we have this saying in lithuanian which is used essentially when someone does something unexpected and unusual for them so you say "it's gonna snow tomorrow". as in "wow, [name] did [something super unexpected from them], it must be snowing tomorrow" (because like those are equally unexpected things i guess? but it's said in winter too so it's just something you say whenever, i'm sorry it's hard to explain!) but yeah a figure of speech. and anytime i heard that, even in the middle of summer, the next morning i'd run to my window and look for snow and when there was none, i'd just stare accusatorily at my parents. like wow, i can't believe you lied/let someone lie to me

horse races sound fun, i've never been to one though! and a picnic luch sounds awesome! i love picnics but we have them very rarely, i definitely think we should have them more often

and yeah, i get that acid reflux more of an annoyance than a problem but still! i completely agree with you about peanut butter though. it's amazing, i could eat it everyday

I know exactly how tall 10 feet is purely because I’m 5 foot so two of me is 10 foot. I barely know feet but I got used to people being confused when I was like oh, I’m 155cm! so I learnt what my height was in feet but I can really only visualise heights when I put them into centimetres. Someone can be like I’m 6 foot! and that’s great but I don’t have the faintest idea how tall that actually is. 182cm on the other hand is easy. that’s just like one ruler above my height. I can picture that. 5 foot 6 is probably average but as a short person, I consider you tall. That really isn’t saying much at my height but still sdflshdfks. Biggest benefit of tall best friends is indeed making them reach high things though.

And now we’re almost three weeks into the new year. Time seems to be flying this year. This is a very late reply indeed sdfjhskdfs. I did see this before I left but didn’t have time to reply, thank you though! I did have lots of fun. I had some birds try to invade the unit up in Orewa and I had a dotterel (I think) follow me along the beach at Ngarimu Bay playing some sort of red light green light game with me (it only moved closer and started following me again when I looked away) and I think a blackbird started some sort of mating performance at me which was flattering but uhhhh I’m a bit of a big bird mate. Maybe choose someone else. there was also beaches and gorgeous views etc etc but birds, y’know. birds.

i would 100% do that for money with no regrets. on one hand I could get a job and contribute to society. on the other hand I could do that as my main income. not a hard choice. hire me by the hour to freak your family and friends out. i have no respect for myself i’ll do it to anyone for the right price. damn. only closed one hour earlier. that’s a massive disappointment. i was out at night willingly for my high school prom and for a creative writing night at my uni and inside a car if that counts when I think my family was travelling back from the south island when I was younger. So three times that come to mind. Oh. And if stupid camp burma trails count then add a few times to that but those were not night outings I did willingly.

I can barely remember most of my life, I just assume it happened and I wasn’t just planted here at 12 years old as an alien spy. Anything’s possible though. I remember my birthday cakes more than my birthday parties to be honest with you. My mum always made the cake and when I was young she’d make fun designs. A bee, a bat, a swimming pool and a cat come to me off the top of my head. They were mostly just sponge cats but she cut them and iced them expertly. A princess-themed party seems like a very fun type of party for kids who like that. Kids always seem very happy to dress up in pretty dresses and cool outfits to attend those kinds of parties. I can imagine the joy. I know my little cousin looooves that sort of thing, and her brother isn’t willing to be left out either

I was wanting to try something with bananas and that sounds easy enough. I had an apple and feijoa smoothie while I was away on holiday and all I want is another one of those. So I’m very very very interested in trying out fruit smoothies now because they seem like they can be very very tasty. Spinach seems like such an odd thing to add but I’ve heard that several times now so clearly it’s a thing. I don’t think I’ve ever even had spinach. I’ll keep it in mind though. I suppose if I just try whatever fruit we have on hand eventually I’ll get something that tastes good. I have dairy free ice cream and dairy free milk so it seems like this could work out for me in a way where I’m not regretting my entire life. Normally when I go near a milkshake I regret the day I was born.

It isn’t a super heavy grater but I have intense survival instincts every now and then so it hasn’t actually hit my foot yet. I go diving in the other direction. But I think if it did I’d probably curse a few times before moving on with my life. I don’t think it’d be THAT bad. But I live in fear regardless. oh no. do your normal glasses have a slightly wrong prescription or is this just a thing that happens when you normally wear contacts,,, I’ve never worn contacts because I fear touching my squishy eyeball and also I think my shitty eyesight is too awkward for contacts so I have no idea if that’s a thing.

oh yes haha hot has been solidly deleted from my vocab for many years except in terms of temperature. It has a word that has never naturally come to mind and I’m sure it never will. It just seems weird when I use it.

I was a fool of a child and absolutely nothing has changed there! I mean I know how hemispheres work now but I’m still a dumbass at heart. Hahahahahaha oh nooooo. That’s incredible but oh noooo. I get what you mean by the saying though, that’d make a lot of sense here honestly since it never snows ever. Locally, at least.

i think horse races are just a form of betting and losing money that is frowned upon less than actual buildings based on gambling and such. I mean I only ever attended those ones, idk if all horse races are like that, but I know there was buying tickets for whatever horse you thought would win, and if they did you got money, if they didn’t you lost money. I don’t think it was a whole lot of money ? just like a few bucks ? but maybe you could choose to bet more ? I really don’t remember how it worked, I just remember accidentally finding a ticket on the ground and handing it in only to receive some money because the horse won. I think it was like 5 or 10 bucks which seemed like a LOT to my kid self. picnic lunches are fun though. my family keeps a tartan blanket in the back of the car that we use whenever we have picnics and also whenever we get takeaways (we put it in the middle of the lounge floor as the rest of my family eats fish and chips and I eat sushi, normally). But we don’t have as many as we used to. They are fun though.

Samara’s looking for love!

Samara’s got tired of living alone with her twin toddlers (whoops spoilers), and has finally decided to find The One!

She’d like for her partner to like kids and be kind, though by no means i she looking for another mother for her babies.

She looooves to swim, especially in the ocean where she can be her true self (a mermaid) and occasionally she likes to go out with her friends. She doesn’t really care about nightclubs etc but a coffee date or a party at the beach at night sounds amazing to her (though she is a little clumsy when it comes to dancing).

Skam España, S1 episode 1 reaction

Aka how to troll the part of your audience that’s seen this story seven times.

Sorry this is late, but it took me longer to write this because there were a lot of changes, and that means more to talk about! Skam España surprised me at how much it diverged from the source material. It’s hitting the same beats, of course, but it felt much more like a remix of the original than a remake, if you follow me.

Thanks to everyone who subs and uploads clips and other content for the non-Spanish audience! You are the best for taking the time to do that for the fandom.

Episode 1

Intro

So this wasn’t in a clip, but it was included at the beginning of the full episode. We get the iconic intro speech, except this time it’s from Eva. And not Eva reading Jonas’ words, it seems, but Eva herself talking about teenagers presenting a happy appearance that masks their insecurities and loneliness. It’s very fitting for her character and taps into some areas that directly affect her, such as wanting to be liked but not knowing how, struggling with her studies, and not knowing who she is. I’m glad she got to give this speech.

And actually, I think it’s important that she didn’t give this speech within a clip itself, to an audience of her boyfriend. It’s like she’s talking to us and only us, the audience, and no one in her life knows what she’s thinking or the full extent of her insecurities.

Clip 1 - And now for something completely different

Spanish Jonas (Jorge) doesn’t get his opening monologue but he does get the first words, though they’re very casual, about diving in the pool.

There’s some obvious framing here with Eva and Jorge sitting together on one side across from Lucas on his own, setting up their third wheel dynamic.

Jorge and Lucas tease Eva, like in the original, but it’s very much a good-natured thing, not something that makes her uncomfortable or feel bad. However, I do think you can read into the dialogue - Eva not knowing how to dive in head first is like her lacking confidence or not being able to take initiative.

We get a focus on Lucas’ uncomfortable face as loud smacking kissy sounds play. I’m always mixed on when the remakes focus a lot of the Isak’s discomfort with Eva/Jonas, because it seems to give too much away. A longing look is OK, maybe, but a moment that wouldn’t be noted from Eva’s POV seems too much. Still, that was a nice way to shoot it, and Lucas gets in some nice facial expressions. And at least there’s ambiguity as to why Lucas is not here for it. At this stage it doesn’t mean he likes Jorge; he could like Eva, or he could just feel bored with his friends making out or lonely that they’re paired off, without having romantic feelings for either of them.

Random detail but I love all the dirt and grass on Jorge’s pants when he gets up.

This is a cute bit of dialogue between Eva and Jorge with him predicting her future. I don’t think this is the case but I would loooove if Spanish P-Chris was Jorge’s height and had curly hair, just for his prediction to happen, just not in the way Jorge means.

I would also love if the money and house on the beach ended up being references to the school trip.

Eva’s future dog being named Nymeria is a reference to Arya’s direwolf from Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire.

This closing image is VERY different. In the other versions of the opening clip Eva ends up alone, setting up her isolation and loneliness. In this one, we close on her and Jorge together, kissing and being intimate, after he’s told her that he’ll be there for her.

Actually, I want to talk about what all the changes in the opening could mean for the season. Hopefully the show takes these changes into account and goes somewhere with them, rather than developing relationships and clips differently but ending up in the same place just because, you know?

So here’s what’s different in the first clip:

Jorge doesn’t have any of that air of condescension that Jonas did, and he and Lucas banter with Eva in a friendly way without any serious insults. (I mean I guess she could be really bothered by them poking fun at her lack of diving ability but lmao, that’s not the same as poking fun at her grades or intelligence.)

We haven’t seen Ingrid or Sara yet and don’t get a hint as to the friction between Eva and them. We do learn that Eva worries about the first day of school but like … there could be literally any reason for that at this point.

We didn’t hear anything about Jorge hanging out or going to Elias’ and there’s no clip later that night where he’s being shady about his whereabouts.

Jorge is extremely kind and supportive, telling Eva that he’ll be with her if there are any problems. But we know that he won’t be able to fulfill this promise, so it’ll feel like an extra slap in the face when he disappoints.

Clip 2 - First day of school

Eva is alone this time… and a lot of people walking into the school are in pairs, including two girls swinging their hands together. Sure is a great reminder of how you lost your BFF.

We do get the Ingrid slow-mo death glare in this clip. “Jungle” by X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons is a good song choice, on the nose, but Eva does feel like she’s heading into the jungle. High school as dangerous terrain is a common but well-deserved trope, like in Mean Girls with the wildlife comparisons played for humor.

Lol and Jorge notices Ingrid (Inés) and her pals, too, then goes back to kissing Eva.

So Lucas interrupts them making out, but he’s with some other boys! Are they setting up the boy squad this early? Is one of them supposed to be Elias? They seem like kind of a cute, doofy squad.

You can tell Eva feels increasingly left out as the boys are wrapped up in a discussion that doesn’t involve her, they’re talking more to Jorge than her and mostly not even looking at her when they tell the story. Although not gonna lie, the story the boys are telling seems kind of inoffensive, not isolating or uncomfortable in itself. I think it’s mostly that she doesn’t have a squad like this herself and has to hang around her boyfriend’s.

And Lucas goes over to her to talk and specifically asks her to the show on Friday, awwww. Unless you think he did it to stir up shit since Jorge forgot to tell her about the show.

Because Jorge forgot to tell her about it, Eva probably won’t be able to get a ticket. So it’s not that Eva invites him somewhere first (like in the original), it’s that he’s already got a thing and that she’s excluded from it. She says she’s cool with it but of course it’s just another small way she’s left out.

Eva ends up outside of the conversation, literally. The boys turn away from her and get engrossed in their own stuff. I was wondering how this was going to go because in the first clip, Jorge was so supportive and she and Lucas seemed tight, and it made a point of showing her together and not being alone. But lmao, teenage boys are maybe not great at living up to their promises.

There was another post about this, but there was a weird zoom on Eva at the end of this clip that felt like someone’s finger slipped on the camera or something. Felt like it needed another take. I hope it was a weird but intentional choice rather than sloppiness.

Clip 3 - Mystery girl

Eva is sitting alone and SHIT, we see the Sana character walk by! Hajar Brown, her actress, is awesome. She features in her own Skam homage, please watch (this version has English subtitles). I’m really happy that she can be part of this project.

It seems that Spanish Sana (Amira) is wearing hijab for the first time, which was mentioned in the show synopsis. The other girl says Amira didn’t wear it last year. It’ll be interesting if we hear more from Amira herself on this development.

Also, did we ever hear people openly talking badly like this about Sana so early in the show? Because obviously we had Vilde running her mouth, and similarly ignorant comments from people like the biology teacher, but until S4 I don’t think we ever witnessed random students gossiping about her like this. I might just be blanking on some of the OG moments, but here we get to see Amira react directly to random hurtful comments.

And of course there’s Lara.

I was really thrown by this clip because it seems very soon to introduce the Noora. As we all know, she makes a more dramatic entrance later on. And yet they have this character wearing Noora’s signature red lipstick, in an extremely Noora-ish outfit, come in and sit next to Eva in a scene very similar to Noora and Eva in episode 3 of OG S1 (and most of the remakes). Except … this character says she’s Lara. From the press release, Skam España’s Noora is supposed to be called, well … Nora. I was so confused. I clearly heard her introduce herself as “Lara” but I figured I was just hearing wrong and somehow she said Nora?

Anyway, Skam Spain fucked with everyone’s expectations by introducing a Noora expy, with the same personal style, with a scene similar to one of Noora’s first, only not to make her the Noora … just to throw everyone off? Because honestly, I applaud them if this is the case. Keeping everyone on their toes.

My guess so far is that she might be Sara, or a Sara equivalent. She might befriend Inés and end up shunning Eva because she hears all about what a bad friend Eva is.

Anyway, Lara makes an impression right away for Eva, talking a lot about herself. She’s certainly not shy, and she’s got an interest in theater and photography. She seems a bit humble-braggy, like her GPA is so good that she can do whatever she wants! She seems to have the confidence Eva lacks. If she’s unsure of herself, it’s because she wants too much.

And then Lucas comes in to talk about school elections, setting us up for the Vilde and the russ equivalent of this show. He doesn’t get her name right but he clearly means Viri. Viri is the only one running for president so better just hand off the position to the person who wants it.

Eva checks out Lara, like all Evas do with Nooras, but lmao, this ain’t Noora.

Clip 4 - Eva at home

Eva is doing homework when she gets the urge to check Instagram and ends up scrolling through Inés’ pics wistfully.

Eva’s mom says she’s going to the hospital so I assume she’s a doctor/nurse/medical professional? If she’s working shifts that conflict with Eva’s schedule, that makes sense as to how Eva could be left alone and have a distant relationship with her mom.

Eva gets a little smile on her face when she views Lara’s profile.

Did Eva actually hit the follow button for Lara or not? I couldn’t tell.

Tbh it’s pretty interesting to see the difference in the Evas’ rooms across remakes. For instance, Spanish Eva has pretty light and sparkles and the word LOVE suspended above her bed, whereas in the Dutch remake, Dutch Eva sleeps under the word FUCK.

So this is clearly taking on Eva’s friending Noora saga, but Lara ain’t Noora, so again, what’s going on? What if Lara’s IG reveals her as a huge weirdo and Eva realizes she doesn’t want to be friends with her?

Skam Spain is trolling everyone and I love it.

Clip 5 - Hello Viri and ALEJANDROOOOOO

Eva is sitting alone in front of the windowsill and skimming through Instagram when Lara shows up! She’s happy to see Eva because she doesn’t know where her next class is. Eva is obviously overjoyed to see her and volunteers to show her where the classroom is. Eva is positively beaming at her. Like she’s in loooooove. But Eva barely gets a second of Lara’s attention before Elvira, aka Viri, aka Spanish Vilde runs up and introduces herself as the class president.

Lara’s outfit seems noticeably less Noora-ish this time around.

Lara shoots Eva a look when Viri is talking, and I don’t know what to make of it. Annoyed at Viri’s attitude? Annoyed that Viri interrupted her moment with Eva? Not annoyed, just trying to check out Eva? IDK, man.

Viri is super grateful that she’s been elected (even though everyone just voted for her because she wanted the job) and is eager to get activities rolling and to get people involved. Lara semi-cuts Viri off from her excited ramble.

We pull back on Viri and get a wide shot … I don’t really know why.

Viri says she’s new, so I guess she doesn’t know Cris that well, which is a big change. Vilde and Chris have always been friends, Chris is the one who’s been her friend all along, but Cris isn’t tagging along with Viri on her quest to recruit more people as in the other versions of this scene. I wonder how they met?

Viri calls Cris “the pretty one” and while I think Ina/original Chris is beautiful, Chris has never been framed as an attractive character in canon so I’m wondering what they’re going to do with this. Cris is also surrounded by people so she seems like a popular, well-liked person. It makes you wonder how she got roped into hanging with the weird girls in school.

Lara says she’s in if Eva is, and Eva agrees. WHAT ARE YOU DOING SKAM SPAIN. You got your Noora in my Lara??? Except Noora only agreed to go to the russ meeting when Sana did. For Lara, it’s Eva she needs to also go. On that note, Lara sure seems into Eva. And Eva agrees because she wants to spend time with Lara...

Viri’s mom is having a meeting, or “meeting,” so maybe they’re going with the same backstory for her as Vilde.

She cuts herself off as she notices William - Alejandro - through the window, and like, if they had named this character Alejandro but not played Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” at some point, I would have felt cheated. I feel like they could have timed or edited the scene better to make it funnier, but I did still appreciate the effort.

I saw people upset that this William looks like an embryo but I’m fine with it. I can completely get why he would be considered a cute boy on campus among these 16/17-year-olds.

Please note Viri’s facial expressions as she takes him in. It looks like she’s glitching.

She’s so turned on by Alejandro that she’s grabbing Eva’s leg.

LOL at Alejandro looking straight at the camera just to smolder. Wow. I’m imagining that this is just a thing he does on purpose, walk around Blue Steeling into invisible cameras.

Is it just me or does he look a bit like Mikael from the original show? Just … floppier?

Clip 6 - Damn, Inés

I think that’s Amira walking across the screen out of focus at the start.

Eva walks up to see Inés hanging out with some girls, the reluctance on her face. And then she sees Lara with them, and the despair crosses her face. Fuuuuuck, this budding friendship is over before it really started. (WAS I RIGHT? I knewwwww it! Lara is going to get turned off by hearing Inés tell her side of the story, and she won’t want to be Eva’s friend. Then the girl squad will step up.)

Getting mild Darlene from Mr. Robot vibes from Inés. Except less unkempt.

Eva going up and talking to Inés in broad daylight, at school, totally sober? Brave, very brave.

We get a closeup of Inés’ face when Eva talks to her so it can sink in that whatever happened with them didn’t hurt only Eva - it’s Eva who seems to be at fault. It’s POV breakage that we maybe didn’t need consider the rest of the scene also establishes that Inés is really hurt by what Eva did, but it did help show Inés as more vulnerable.

Ouch. Inés is right to be pissed (as we know her reasons) but she’s ice cold to Eva, especially with making her repeat that Eva will never be around her again. That is really harsh, worse than any “your eye makeup makes you look like a slut” comments.

Clip 7 - Interrupted by dancing dudes

Cris is seen leaving the school ahead of Eva and Jorge. I like that they’re planting the major characters around the school, casually showing them going about their lives. I mean maybe they were just filming other scenes that day and used all of the actors they had on set, lmao, but it feels realistic.

Jorge meets Eva and seems supportive, she’s not alone walking out of school this time. But she spies Inés again outside, there’s eye contact, and Eva is clearly upset over what happened earlier. Even Jorge notices.

She doesn’t want to open up to him, he keeps asking her to open up, and just when it seems like she might tell him, he gets a notification of his friends being goofballs and watches them on his phone.

Jorge promises to be all Eva’s tomorrow, and lol somehow I think it’s a promise made to be broken.

Clip 8 - Sad blue-tinted lonely Friday clip

Eva is hanging out in her kitchen heating up food in her not-leaving-the-house attire, alone, not doing anything on Friday night. She gets a text from Jorge and looks at all the fun her boyfriend and his friends are having at their concert.

She watches it fondly and sends him some texts back, then goes back to that solitary microwave life.

Viri sends a message asking if someone can host the end of the year trip meeting. Eva goes back to munching. But we know what she’s really hungry for ... is friendship. 😎

Clip 9 - Goddammit Jorge

Eva is on the sidelines watching Jorge play football. You know, not that you can’t support your significant other, but being a teenage girl and watching your boyfriend be active while you sit there watching is maybe not the most fun activity? Let’s be honest, would a lot of these teenage boys sit and watch their girlfriends play a game together, one that wasn’t like an “official” game for school or anything, and cheer them on while not participating themselves? Girls are expected to support their boyfriends’ activities in a way that frankly is not reciprocal.

Lucas comes up behind the bleachers, wearing sunglasses and doing this face that would probably be meme-worthy if it were more in focus. Like he actually does that peer over the top of the sunglasses look. And I was like, lmao, why is the fuck is he doing that, but then I realized he was probably checking out Jorge.

Jorge comes up to Eva all drenched with water and sweat so you know Lucas is taking advantage of his sunglasses to peep that manly sight.

It sure didn’t take long for Jorge to go back on his promise. Jorge makes a comment about wanting to go home and sleep, Eva says they were supposed to hang out today, he’s like “well I’m going to play video games with the boys, but you can come if you want.” Lmao this is uncharitable but I’m imagining he means “you can come and watch” not “you can come and participate.”

She suggests they go out together and he’s like, nah, do that shit yourself. Wow, so supportive. And yet a realistic depiction of dating high school boys. He tells her she’ll make a bunch of friends soon and forget all about him, which is sweet, except if you think that later, in the tradition of past Jonases, he’s going to get all miffed about the school trip and be passive-aggressive to Eva about her activities and friends? Less sweet.

I just want to mention that Lucas is oh so casually lying there and soaking in all of this dialogue. Noticing that Jorge is ditching Eva. Not saying a word, but you know. Absorbing this information, in case it’s pertinent.

Jorge asks Lucas if Eva is a good catch, for reassurance, and he pauses before commenting on her hat. Well, he can’t exactly say he doesn’t know, can he?

Jorge and Eva kiss before Jorge gets called back to his game, and Lucas asks Eva what Jorge tastes like, L O L. She answers sweat. We see Eva, deflated now that Jorge has bailed (like “I came to watch you and put on this hat and now you don’t even want to hang out?”) while right beside her, Lucas has … a look. That sweat comment will fuel his fantasies, don’t lie.

I mean I’m going to be honest, my attention was focused on Lucas instead of Eva at the end, since I was trying to see if he had a ~meaningful look.

Clip 10 - Class trip meeting

This is pretty easily inferred since Eva is desperate to be social but she volunteered her house off screen via text message.

Viri is super hyped about this meeting even though it’s apparently only going to be her, Eva, Cris, and Cris’ friend. She thinks more people will want to come to their meetings once their project gets off the ground. I think she is concerned about popularity, but not gonna lie, I’m getting less “social climber” vibes from her and more “type-A overachiever.” But I guess she could be both!

Ding dong! Who’s at the door? Why it’s Cris, and she brought Amira! Good God, the way the smile drops off Viri’s face when she sees a Muslim is in her presence. She greets Amira and all, but Viri looks like she’s been told her puppy got run over.

She backtracks from Mallorca, and when Amira asks why, Viri’s like, well it’s all beach. Holy shit, Viri, have you never seen Muslims on a beach? Cris is “just like wear a burkini,” Amira says she’ll get one, and even Cris seems to have a moment where she has to backtrack. It’s like she mentioned the burkini as a joke but didn’t take it seriously. Amira clearly is a bit exasperated by this turn of conversation. Like it’s othering to her, she has to hold these people’s hands.

See I’m really curious about the nature of this trip, because when you say “school trip” I’m coming from my own experience, and I think of like a trip with adult chaperones, guided activities and tours, strict supervision. Partying and sex do happen, but it’s not a free-for-all where the students are running around on their own. What Viri is describing seems more like a casual beach trip? How much independence would the students have? Obviously this is a different culture than my own (and a lot of the strict chaperoning on US school trips comes from wanting to curb underage drinking, which wouldn’t be a problem here) and I’m not familiar with how Spanish schools operate these kinds of excursions, but I’m trying to figure out what are Viri’s plans for this trip.

@skammovistarplus explains some context behind the trip in this post.

Viri gets happy about her trip again and starts talking about it, and she very obviously looks back and forth from Cris to Eva as she talks about it, not making eye contact with Amira. The camera in this part of the scene is pulled back so we can see just how excluded and distant Amira is from this conversation, almost like we’re in her shoes.

Amira talks a lot of sense and says more people should get involved in trip planning. I mean, yeah, otherwise just plan a trip among yourselves and leave the school out of it? Seems easier.

The doorbell rings again, Eva thinks it’s Lara, but when she opens the door it’s …. Nora! Also wearing red lipstick.

Amira gave Nora the address so they’re already acquainted. That’s a change, Nora joining the group because of Amira. Noora said she wanted to get to know Sana better, but Eva was also the one who got her acquainted with the other girls.

This clip cuts off right at Nora’s introduction, and I can’t help but laugh at the context? It’s kind of dramatic, though less in the full episode. Like if I knew nothing about this show, I’d be like … is this supposed to be some twin shenanigans??? Is one of them the good twin and the other the bad twin? Lara and Nora? But I guess this moment is for the existing Skam fans. It’s …. Nora! The one you thought was Nora was emphatically not Nora! Plot twist!

This was the least gay Noora introduction, though.

Clip 11 - More meeting

There was a post about the clips and problems with the length and timing and I completely agree that posting multiple shorter clips is not good. If they keep doing this, it will minimize emotional investment - we won’t be able to sink into a scene without them cutting it off at a certain point. I guess Viri and Amira have been arguing for like an hour which I’m sure was enjoyable to witness for the other girls.

Viri is getting cringy, like I thought she did an OK job of Tracy Flicking it up but she’s getting OTT in a theater kid kind of way. Stress will do that to you.

So I guess a Mr Wonderful notebook is just a brand of notebook with cheesy motivational sayings, and Viri talks like that earnestly, lmao.

Amira thinks they need cool girls to be at the meeting, like Inés. Eva is affected by this. Nora seems to notice.

Nora is from Madison, Wisconsin, holy shit. As a Midwesterner I am rolling on the floor.

I have been to Madison, Wisconsin. It’s a very nice city! I love Wisconsin! I recommend visiting the cheese castle! But it’s just funny that Nora the cool girl is from a place that’s as mundane as Wisconsin. Like there’s that storyline from Love Actually where the awkward guy thinks he can get laid in America just by having a British accent, so he books a ticket to America, to a “fantastic place” called Wisconsin. That’s the joke. It’s supposed to be funny because it’s Wisconsin.

Hajar Brown does a good job as Amira, I like her. She points out that they’re all losers who have nothing better to do on Saturday so they’re at this meeting. Viri says they’re not weird, they’re unique, and Cris asks what about twins, and Nora seems to laugh at herself. SEE WHAT I MEAN ABOUT HER AND LARA BEING TWINS… the secret will come out.

Why is Cris here, anyway? I get why the other four would be weirdos and hanging out together - Eva has been shunned, Viri is a racist Hermione, Amira is Muslim, and Nora is the new girl in town - but Cris seems, frankly, not a lot like original Chris and appeared to have some other friends in our first glimpse of her. What’s her deal?

Nora asks why the cool girls would want to come to them and Amira’s like, well, you’re very pretty, Nora. Eva, you could be pretty if you wore some makeup. L M A O. I think Amira was saying that to fuck with Viri, since she gave her a considering look before moving on to Eva, and Viri looked offended, but lol, as if the four who are supposed to flirt aren’t all pretty, skinny, conventionally attractive girls. (I mean, I hate debates over which characters are the best looking, I just don’t give a shit, but if you ask me, Nora is not noticeably prettier than the other girls. Tbh I kinda didn’t like that they changed it to Nora from Eva since, if they follow the rest of the show, Noora was so singled out for being special and attractive among the girls anyway.)

Viri is beside herself with rage at how this meeting turned out.

Lara never showed so presumably she heard all about Eva’s history from Inés. She also leaves the trip group chat later.

Clip 12 - Eva spies Jorge

Eva is guiding Nora to her bus an hour later. Nora questions whether there will be another meeting and Eva says she supposes not because they don’t have anything in common. Nora says nay, they’re the weirdos at school. It’s cute.

I was about to ask what was the point of this scene since, other than a moment between Eva and Nora, it’s not adding much, but then “Jungle” kicks in again, a bus goes by, and Eva sees Jorge on that bus. Looking like he is talking to a girl. Who may be Inés. Eva realizes she’s been duped! Dramaaaaaa!

That does appear to be the same shiny backpack that Inés had earlier in the episode.

General Comments:

Regardless of execution, in a lot of ways this is what I want from a Skam remake? If I can’t have brand new stories and characters, I’d like to see remixes of the scenes with new dialogue and focus. Very little of the dialogue was taken straight from Skam, iconic moments were left out, new plot elements were introduced. So it makes me want to keep watching to see what else they do.

Unless Skam Spain has a different contract than the other remakes, so far it’s ripping holes in the idea that the remakes were required to be exactly the same as the original.

They sure crammed three episodes into one. I will give them credit, though, it didn’t feel rushed for the most part. I think the girls’ meeting suffered the most since we basically had to meet a bunch of characters at once (only Viri had really been introduced), whereas in the original we’d gotten a solid scene with all of the girls by the time of the meeting and had an inkling as to their personalities. However, the Jorge stuff and Inés and the other elements felt fine, pacing-wise. I love S1′s beginning episodes and things like the cabin episode, but they can easily be condensed if needed.

There was controversy over Chris being skinny in this version, and just to go over that - this isn’t the first version of Skam that’s had a thinner Chris, Druck and Skam Austin had Chrises who weren’t fat, Skam NL does too. I think Skam España got the most flack for this because the Chrises in Druck and Skam Austin were WOC, and while race and body size are two different areas of representation, those characters were still members of an underrepresented group. Skam NL has a thinner white Chris, but it also has the first Noora who’s a WOC so the girl squad has additional diversity besides the Sana character. So I think it’s a combo of everyone being thin + everyone other than Amira being white that made Skam España get criticism in particular.

I do think it is disappointing that all the main girls appear to be thin, because overall I think the various Skams have done a decent job of showing girls with a variety of shapes - not just in terms of skinny or fat, but even the “thin” characters often have different body types than are often seen on TV. And I hope there are more POC in the cast later. That’s all I really want to say about it at the time.

I mentioned this in my Skam NL recap, too, but I think so many characters are called Lucas because it’s a religious name that can be used for symbolism, like Isak.

I feel like some of the more technical aspects are off, like camerawork/editing, and the acting overall is mixed, but it does feel like a down-to-earth low-budget production that cast actual teenagers and that’s my jam, so I am very willing to cut it some slack in this regard.

Some highlights of social media: Lucas posting a shit-stirring #TBT post with him, Eva, and Inés, that’s pretty cold, dude. Eva and Lucas taking turns third wheeling in it group photos.

Oo! A one shot of Max meeting the Sinclair family for the first time over dinner and Mr and Mrs Sinclair are super excited to meet her but Erica at first is super suspicious but then warms up to her all while Max and Lucas are externally screaming

I've never really written Erica so I'm still figuring her out so she may not be in character? But I had a go:*******“I loooove you Maxiiiine!” “Erica! Get out of my room!” Lucas slammed the door shut. Max was coming over tonight and he needed everything to be perfect, but a certain little sister was not making things easy. He had spent a good half hour trying to pick out an outfit, practising being a “gentleman” to Max in the mirror. He just needed his parents to like her.He was pacing in the living room, Erica snickering under her breath.“What?” He sighed. “Why are you laughing?”“Because.” Erica grinned. “I'm just imagining the kind of nerd that's going to turn up if she's interested in you.”“Erica…” Mrs Sinclair raised an eyebrow. “I'm sure Maxine will be lovely.”“Max.” Lucas corrected. “She uh... she likes to be called Max.”A light tap came at the front door and Mrs Sinclair rushed to find her camera, ushering Mr Sinclair out of his chair as she went past.Lucas ran a hand through his hair before finally opening the door. “Max!” He stood there smiling like an idiot.“Hey.” She seemed quieter than he'd normally seen her, more nervous. She was wearing a skirt? During dinner, Mr Sinclair had asked Max about herself, when she'd moved to Hawkins, what California was like. It was nice, she hadn't felt so welcome in a family in so long.She told them all about California, how she would go to the beach in the summer, spend almost every evening on her skateboard.“You skateboard?!” Erica stopped eating. She hadn't been listening to most of Max's story, but her ears pricked up at the mention on skateboarding.“Yeah. I have ever since I can remember.”“Girls can do that?”Max's brows furrowed. “Yeah. Why shouldn't we? Girls can do whatever boys can do.”“Can you teach me?” Erica seemed genuinely excited for the first time in her life.Max smiled back at her. She'd never had a sister, but she would have hoped it'd be like this if she did. “Yeah sure. If it's ok with your parents?”Mr Sinclair shrugged. “I don't see why not.”“As long as you're safe.” Mrs Sinclair added.Erica looked at Lucas. “She's so cool.”He had to shake his head to make sure he heard that right. She had felt so welcome, as if she were part of the family. “Thank you Stalker!” She called out to him, eyes wide and her smile beaming.Lucas was still processing the fact she had kissed him, but he managed to control his brain for five minutes, long enough to call back “Any time, Mad Max!”

So first we have to figure out what their usual styles are

Michele

It is canon that Sara helps Michele pick out some of his clothes, so surely his outfits consist of both her style and his own. He’s learned a lot from his sister and he actually does have a pretty good sense of style. In the show, he’s usually wearing his Italy jacket over his outfit, so unfortunately we can’t tell all that much what he wears. But one photo I do remember from the show is that Michele has this bomb ass coat:

Like?? That looks handsome af on him, i bet he has lots of coats

He is also seen wearing plain t-shirts, sometimes with jackets over them.

From just these, we can conclude that he looks hella fine in darker colors

Emil

I would say Emil’s style is pretty casual, even more so than Michele. He wears a lot of t-shirts/jackets and also some beach-y type stuff. (didn’t Kubo say that at some point? I thought I remembered a tweet about Emil liking beachwear, but I could be wrong)

So here are some examples of his outfits in the show. He clearly likes jackets/vests, and he looks hot af in them

Now that we know a little bit about their usual styles, it will be easier to figure out the kind of places they shop at/types of clothes they shop for!

There is actually this brand of Italian shoe that I could def see Michele wearing and also converting Emil to wearing: Supergas. They’re basically like tennis shoes except they’re a lot classier looking, but you can get fancier/more casual ones. They’re kind of like Converse, if you know what those are. (they are super comfy!) So since Emil is the kind of guy to wear a lot of sandals, Michele would take him to get some Supergas.

Emil probably insists on getting some weird shoes like Birkenstocks or Crocs, and Michele is honestly so disappointed™ and he’s def not letting his man walk around like that.

So one of the stores they visit (probably online, unless they’re visiting a place with one of the stores) is the Superga store

And since Emil always has cold feet, they probably shop for funky socks for him!! (I def see his as a type to wear fun socks)

Michele subscribes to fashion magazines because Sara got him into them. A lot of them include super expensive brands (Gucci, Armani, etc.)

They don’t spend all their money on expensive clothes, but they both like to look nice, and sometimes they’ll get each other expensive things as gifts

Michele gets Emil an Armani leather jacket, as well as other jackets bc he looks nice af in them

I feel like Michele would have a thing for watches, so he’d probably splurge on a nice watch

Emil!!! Wearing!!! Rings!!! (besides his wedding ring, of course)

Michele looooves to pick out the cool shit for his man (he knows Emil doesn’t expect him to get him things all the time, but he can’t help it)

Emil actually has a harder time choosing things for Michele, because as we all know, Michele is a particular man, and he’s the one that knows more about fashion

Okay but EMIL BUYS MICHELE A SPEEDO!! He knows Michele would never buy one for himself, so…that happens (let’s be honest, we all want to see Mickey in a speedo)

But they go to the beach a lot, so it’s totally necessary!

One year for Christmas, Mickey and Emil buy each other new winter coats (M and E)

Allura! Ok prepare for an essay about my wife;

What they smell like: Mostly like shampoo. So much hair??? Smells a little like Kenzo’s Flower perfume.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): Side sleeper, no set schedule. She sleeps in bouts of 3-4.5 hours whenever feels like it/has the time, but is easily anxious and sometimes! Just cannot.

What music they enjoy: ??? I feel like most of the time, she just likes white noise bc that doesn’t interfere with her thought process. Otherwise, she doesn’t like any specific genre or band, just random songs that she finds catchy.

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: about 10-15 on a regular day. Hair is brushed and tied up night before so she can just undo it and look amazing in 2 seconds, outfits coordinated last night (unless she’s coording with someone) so maybe 3-5 minutes changing clothes and picking accessories, makeup is maybe 7 minutes for moisturizer, bb, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lip tint. 30 minutes if she showers in the morning instead of at night.

Their favorite thing to collect: Photos of her friends and family. She wishes she had more photos of her parents and friends from Altea, but covering her bedroom walls in photos of the new people in her life make up for it, a little. (the first thing the team gets her when they go to earth is a polaroid camera, you know, the hipster kine.)

Left or right-handed: Right, but sliiiightly ambidexterous.

Religion (if any): Probably whatever was the dominant religion on Altea, though she’s probably out of touch with it now.

Favorite sport: Wife throwing ilu Shiro An Altean version of basketball but in zero-G with jetpacks. She’s also gotten into surfing thanks to Hunk and Lance.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): Sightseeing, esp to see natural wonders of the planet and historical landmarks. She likes seeing how other planets have changed over the 10k years she’s been out. Taking part in the culture and getting to know the people is also handy since she’s a diplomat.

Favorite kind of weather: Since rain on Altea was, like, glass and on fire, she preferred clear weather. Once they get to Earth, she still prefers sun bc she likes outdoor activities and humidity makes her hair annoyingly high-maintenance, but she enjoys storms that are so bad the day is cancelled and everyone hangs out and they cook on a gas burner and play card games by lamplight. But, everyone enjoys those days.

A weird/obscure fear they have: mushrooms in places mushrooms shouldn’t be.

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: Carnival games: any strength-based games 100% she’s got. But she’s also fairly good at knocking shit down with balls.

What they smell like: b4 covering himself in three entire cans of axe like the doucheass he is? Laundry soap and dryer sheets. Very slightly of skin/haircare products, if you’re face-to-face with him. Overall, very nice b4 the axe.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): A morning person, generally sleeps before 11 and gets up at 5 or 6 feeling great. Back sleeper, is perfectly still in his sleep and sleeps like a fuckin’ rock.

What music they enjoy: He loves music! He has a lot of acoustic covers, some of which he did, and a couple of songs he wrote himself. His music library is mostly pop, stuff that’s good to sing along to, the occasional rock or rap song…and a ton of anime OPS and J-pop from the weeb phase he never QUITE outgrew and K-pop that he knows the dances to by heart. He’s only a little ashamed that he can sing all the way through Snow Halation and Go!!! but knows like 7 words in Japanese.

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: It’s bad. Depends on if he has a uniform or is stuck in space with one set of clothes. Shower is necessary, 10-15 minutes. Skincare is 10 minutes to apply, 10 minutes to sink in while he wanders around his room naked, drying off and picking out an outfit. 5 more minutes to remove and then do toner and moisturizer. Changing is like a minute, but then accessorizing and re-picking his outfit takes maybe another 5-10. Hair is usually less than a minute unless it’s being especially uncooperative. Makeup is blessedly just BB, eyebrows, shadow and liner on a regular day. 10 minutes. Total time is about an hour, but he can cut it down to 30 minutes if he MUST.

Their favorite thing to collect: Skincare products. You know that bin of product Stef has in the bathroom? That times like 5.

Left or right-handed: Right.

Religion (if any): …I’m honestly not sure? I feel like he’d follow whatever his family follows. Maybe catholic?

Favorite sport: Surfing, then beach volleyball, then basketball.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): Local food and shopping. He bring back omiyage for days if he’s not travelling with the team.

Favorite kind of weather: Sun, he also likes going out.

A weird/obscure fear they have: Too many birds at once.

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: Shooters, rhythm games. Music gun gun is his jam. He is also the currenT DDR champion of the team, although Shiro and Hunk are returning challengers. He’s also hands down the best at that one sniper game.

What they smell like: A REASONABLE amount of TASTEFUL cologne and a little laundry softener. Not the douchey kind that smells vaguely of money. Otherwise, smells like whatever’s cooking, or coffee.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): Side sleeper also, holds things. Also a morning person, but a little later than Lance at 11-12 to 6-7. Sleeps light and moves, snores slightly if he ends up facedown.

What music they enjoy: he has a few songs Lance sang for him in the library. He ALSO does covers on ukulele or guitar (Mostly ukulele) and has a few original songs he did, but doesn’t record them for the most part. Lots of rock and alternative, some pop, some acoustic covers, some music he picked up from the others (just the catchy stuff)

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: To make up for Lance, he takes about 15 minutes. Quick shower if it’s hot (long showers at night) an all-in-one toner/serum/moisturizer that Lance got him on, brush teeth, comb hair, change clothes, done. He usually has time to make breakfast.

Their favorite thing to collect: Tools, gadgets, materials, etc. Stuff he can scrap and use to build new stuff. Similar to Pidge’s collection, but more focused on hardware. They usually cooperate on projects, so this works out.

Left or right-handed: Right, but pretty capable with left.

Religion (if any): Not really, but his family is Catholic.

Favorite sport: Surfing, hiking and judo if those count.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): Getting to experience the culture. Local food and talking to the people and taking part in the culture. He looooves the universal translator.

Favorite kind of weather: Rain, and storm parties.

A weird/obscure fear they have: Shiro in his kitchen wormy lookin bugs

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: ALSO good at shooters and rhythm games. Taiko no Tatsujin reigning champion and a returning competitor for Lance’s DDR crown. Also Lance’s music gun gun partner, they literally never play with anyone else.

What they smell like: Clean. Just like soap and deodorant. Kinda fob, actually. Maybe kinda sweaty if he’s been fighting or training or something.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): side sleeper, tends to curl up a bit and needs to have something or someone pressed against his back, so will wedge himself between pillows or against the wall. Will also spoon anything left in arms reach. Moves a lot, sleeps light, prone to nightmares and sleeptalking. Also restless and prone to anxiety whenever he’s trying to relax, so he doesn’t sleep much. A night owl, he usually sleeps from 3-10, give or take an hour.

What music they enjoy: Probably indie stuff, mostly. Kinda hipster stuff, he’s the type that has favorite bands.

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: 30 if he showers, 15 if not. Skincare/makeup is just moisturizer, then bb and eyeliner and MAYBE shadow if he’s feelin’ it. Change clothes, brush teeth, hair wax if necessary, and good to go. Except he’s tired for like an hour after he wakes up so.

Their favorite thing to collect: Books, star charts, stuff about space. He was kind of obsessed and is still pretty fascinated.

Left or right-handed: He was reaLLY right hand dominant, but the prosthetic lacks some precision for certain tasks so he’s adapted to be more ambidextrous. His handwriting is appalling and he can’t use chopsticks anymore.

Religion (if any): some branch of buddhism he grew up with, but he doesn’t think about it much.

Favorite sport: If martial arts counts, judo, then basketball.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): Museums and festivals. Enjoys the history and science, and festivals are fun.

Favorite kind of weather: Storms and rain. He likes being outside in the rain and running through puddles and shit. Will come home looking like he showered fully dressed bc he was out playing in the rain like a fuckin five year old.

A weird/obscure fear they have: Isopods

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: ALSO good at throwing shit at carnivals, but generally monopolizes any and all racing games with Keith at arcades. Challenges Lance to DDR regularly but has, like, a 6:1 loss-win ratio. Shiro’s not bad at it; Lance is just really good.

PIDGE

What they smell like: Coffee. Depending on how invested they get in a project, they might smell kinda sweaty from hours of nonstop work, but usually someone stops them and reminds them to eat, sleep and shower every 24 hours.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): stomach sleeper, drapes over things. They don’t sleep so much as they crash at about 4 AM, or they power through it and when they’ve finished whatever they were working on they crash for like 15 hours. Sleeps like they’re dead, and is out wherever they fall. Is often carried to bed by their team when found passed out in a hallway or something.

What music they enjoy: Uhh probably like punk rock or something. Regrettably appreciates Keith’s shitty music library.

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: They roll out of bed and usually remember to brush their teeth. They shower if they didn’t the night before and get back to whatever they were working on.

Their favorite thing to collect: Scraps. Like Hunk, old devices and robots and gadgets that they gut later for parts, with a heavier focus on software. Hunk and Pidge share collections, but Hunk’s is organized and neat while Pidge’s is a pile in a corner of their lab.

Left or right-handed: Left.

Religion (if any): None

Favorite sport: They aren’t super sporty, not that they dislike physical activity, they just find normal sports too boring and the rules annoying so they make up games to play with the team. So far capture the flag with floor-is-lava rules and Assassin are their favorites.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): Museums definitely, especially on other planets. they prefer the sciencey-ones and will also try to stop by libraries and universities they pass.

Favorite kind of weather: Clear, because rain means slow internet, though they also like the storm parties.

A weird/obscure fear they have: Being abandoned by the team. Despite being an invaluable and much-loved member of the team, they aren’t super social and worry occasionally that they’ll be left out. This is never the case, though.

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: The bishibashi master, first of all, and also somehow really good at any carnival game involving throwing stuff. Rings, darts, etc.

ANNNNND KEITH FINALLY.

What they smell like: Line dried clothes and sweat, but not in a bad way, just very natural. Smells like shampoo for hours after a shower, tho (bc thick hair) which is nice.

How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): side sleeper, no set schedule. Like Allura, he sleeps whenever he’s tired and feel he needs it, in 3-6 hour bursts. Sleeps light. Also after returning to earth, he never has a bed of his own–he sleeps in his car, under the stars, in rented rooms, or on the couch when he’s alone. Otherwise, he sleeps next to a team member. None of them usually mind.

What music they enjoy: Obscure indie rock, punk rock, and whatever’s on. Also acoustic covers. Also likes that Lance sings at him.

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: Like, ten minutes. He showers at night and wears most of his clothes when he sleeps so he just rolls out of bed, washes his face, brushes his teeth and maybe brushes his hair or ties it up. Done.

Their favorite thing to collect: otHER PEOPLE’S SHIT. Why’d he have Shiro’s clothes when he found him in the desert? Stole all his shit. Where’s Lance’s bathrobe? Keith has it. Pidge’s notebook? Keith. Why are you wearing Hunk’s jacket? Are those Allura’s hairpins? Did Coran SAY you could use that glass? Things get back to their owners eventually, except some small things they just let him keep.

Left or right-handed: Right dominant but is slightly ambidexterous. His left hand writing is legible, but ugly.

Religion (if any): none

Favorite sport: Again if martial arts count; aikido, which has come in handy oFTEN bc he was a tiny kid. In general he likes any kind of close-combat bc he’s gooD at it; sports in general he’s not stellar at bc short legs.

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): Local food, but mostly bc he likes eating. He just likes exploring in general so as long as they’re seeing new stuff he’s interested.

Favorite kind of weather: Another person who likes to play in the rain, but is more likely to take an umbrella and stay half dry at least. Likes relaxing indoors and warming back up afterwards.

A weird/obscure fear they have: plants that know too much.

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: He’s pretty tied with Shiro at, like, every racing arcade game ever.
