i've returned to talk about daredevil AHA, i swear to fucking god i WILL SUE I WILL SUE FUCKING KEVIN FIEGE I WILL SUE THE WRITERS omg i just needed foggy and Karen back AND THIS IS WHAT I GET OMG IM NOT BELIEVING IT FOR A SECOND BRUH

Hi friend!! I’ve missed you.

Okay so. I am holding onto hope that:

1- The first half of the season (if that rumor of the first part being episode 1-9 are true) will be when the blip happened and during the blip, which would give the excuse and reason for Foggy and Karen NOT being there. It’s now seeming like Matt never got snapped away- which I would LOVE to see how they do that with his senses cuz that shit would be so so tragic in Matt’s pov having no idea what’s happening and nothing he can do to do stop it- so Matt doesn’t get snapped, but Karen and Foggy do- so their firm….is also gone. It would be too painful for Matt to continue that business without them.

Due to these reasons and pain and guilt and PAIN and Matt, because he’s Matt, will somehow blame himself for not helping in a battle he had no idea was happening and stopping it. He may go into a depression again, maybe this is where and when he meets Kirsten or something. But during the 5 years of the blip, he decides to work for/with another firm, or start a new one again.

2- Again if the rumor is true and the second part of the season is episodes 10-18, maybe that’s when End Game happens and everyone comes back. (I don’t think Born Again was even close to finising that first half of filming before the WGA Strike so reaaalllyyy, maybe there’s wiggle room here once selfish studios pay writers and actors what they deserve and more and filing starts again whenever that will be)

But my theory and some other fans theories, that the second part will be AFTER the Blip, and they can do a little time jump if they want or flashbacks or something idk. Let’s not forget in She-Hulk Matt actually looked and seemed happy, in a good place, at times lighthearted and having fun and THE SAME WITTY CHARMING ASS (i say fondly) HE IS (that didn’t change) with Jen and he even says “we” talking about his firm and Matt has always kinda been against bigger/giant law firms because most of the lawyers that work at those places tend to be more corrupt and not have the clients best interests at heart. Maybe if he joined a bigger firm during the blip there would be some conflict there.

And after, this would be A great reason and opportunity to bring back Foggy and Karen and could potentially start up their business again, or at least get Foggy to join the firm, OR they have a little branch under the bigger firm. The point is, they could use the second part of the season to bring back Nelson and Page.

And Matt’s words to Jen sounds more like he has Foggy back in his life and he’s still in a pretty good place. You don’t think Foggy would get an absolute kick out of Matt having a one night stand with She-Hulk!? He’s be so proud and cracking joke’s because “she literally spanked your ass twice” 😂 (Kevin if you’re reading this…)

3- After seeing Charlie Cox at two cons and meeting him twice, I firmly and 100% believe he has somewhat of a voice in some decisions for Born Again. The studio KNOWS this show or “reboot” or continuation wouldn’t be possible or the same without Charlie. Kevin knew that. And the reaction Charlie/Matt got in NHW PROVED how much the entire fandom loves him as Daredevil. So, I feel like his input and opinions are valued. Which makes me hopefully guess/theorize that Charlie has at least spoken to someone about bringing back Elden and Deborah. And I know Vincent really loved Deborah as Karen too, and I feel like he would also have a say because you just can’t change him as Fisk either. Same with Jon as the Punisher.

So again, I am holding out for being hopeful and not truly believing anything until it’s in the actual episodes I watch. It’s marvel, we have to remember that, they lie and gaslight fans all the time and try to convince the fans what’s not true and what is. So a twitter account from “sources” is a little harder to believe.

I have nothing against Deborah Ann-Woll or her as Karen because I actually loved Karen. But 99% of the heart in Daredevil was Foggy and his relationship with Matt. To not have AT LEAST Foggy be in the show at some point is utterly ridiculous. Matt’s not suddenly going to have a new best friend who truly gets and understands every single side of him and knows his past and martyr tendencies like Foggy. Matt isn’t just gonna straight up trust others and tell them he’s also Daredevil (Jen literally just ripped his mask off but he had no intention of telling her know)

And honestly, just as no one else but Charlie Cox could play and be Matt/Daredevil, no one else but Elden Henson can be and play Foggy. I just don’t think that amazing heart of Foggy’s can be the same without Elden.

Wow that was long and it’s 3:45am so I’ll step off now.

Final Thoughts:

I more or less liked this episode, although I think the season 1 and season 2 premieres were stronger. This one definitely beats out season 3′s premiere tho, which is a fairer comparison since both these episodes weren’t meant to be season premieres at all

I loved Landon in this episode. The boy makes me so sad. And Aria as Malivore is still EVERYTHING. But I am SO mad that Kaleb and Ric don’t immediately say that they won’t let Landon sacrifice himself??? Was Raf really the only person besides hope who actually cared about Landon???

I hope Cleo gets her own plot line this season now that her “surprise, I’m the villain” plot line is over. I’d hate to see her just be used as a plot device for “inspiration”

And while I just did praise Aria as Malivore and I do think Malivore is now a stronger villain that he was before, I do kind of think his reason for keeping Cleo prisoner is just. So goofy. When witches were kept for their powers by antagonists in TVD and TO, it was because it gave the antagonist an edge with like prophecies or magical skill. Malivore’s keeping Cleo around in hope she’ll give him a good idea LMFAO

The turning point for Finsie’s story in this episode was so cheesy and badly done. But in the end, I do like how they tied this back to Josie being scared Finch would get overwhelmed with the knowledge that Josie and Lizzie would have to do the Merge and leave her like Penelope did

Really really hated whatever point the writers were trying to get across with Hope this episode. They’re really going to continue to shame her for her reaction to Landon dying in her arms after they had sex for the first time. They have Hope come to this “realization” that she purposefully puts other peoples lives at risk for Landon when that was never the case. She saved MG even after he killed Landon (because she was never like that, even then she understood what was right, it was her who got Raf to see understand it too), she chose to kill herself for everyone (not just Landon) instead of letting someone else get hurt, she chose the Saltzmans over Landon (choosing to let him die) and only lucked out bc Dorian found a loophole with the compulsion. And I’ll say it again, 3x08 was not Hope trying to kill the twins to get Landon back. She was reckless, she was arrogant, she was stupid for thinking the monsters wouldn’t be a threat, but it was the dark magic that literally no one remembered too that was actually dangerous to the twins. And I hate that the crux of this story in 4x01 is Hope and MG back in that memory and Hope having to choose between letting MG die or being with Landon, and that the writers actually have her consider it. In the memory that they’re in, Hope saves MG! That’s what happened! No hesitation! It was Raf who wanted to hurt him, it was Kaleb who doubted she would do it (btw, there’s Plec’s insidious racism again). And let’s not forget that the “feud” between Hope and MG wasn’t even about Hope choosing between the two. It was started bc MG hid the ascendant and decided to let Landon rot in the prison world. It makes me so frustrated everyone except Hope has given up on saving Landon and that the writers don’t ever make that out to be a bad thing and instead make Hope look inconsiderate and selfish for not wanting to let Landon die!

I think I saw Clarke in the preview for the 4x02? Hopefully I get to watch it soon after it comes out. Just started a new job so

ok hi here for my (probably) daily aftg rant,,,,so i’m seeing that the majority of the fandom (as far as i’ve seen anyway)--or fics/fanart consisting of andreil doing the do--view neil as a power bottom ?

am i incorrect? are my resources false? idk bout u but so far i’ve only seen like one fic where neil is the top/penetrator (!mao is that even a real word idk but it sounds weird haha cute ok anyway)

and honestly, i have to disagree. i do. i’m not trying to push andrew’s boundaries by saying that neil could top, i’m just saying that y’all don’t give neil enough credit.

liek,,,,,bro,,,,,do you not see the amount of top energy neil mf josten radiates ???? like, yes, we know andrew takes the lead but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’d top forever ?????

( just a proposition, ofc but this is just my opinion based on observations--yet again )

( and tbh i had difficulty trying to figure who was the top and who was the bottom between them when i encountered the first hint of intimate growth in their relationship--to the point where i had to ask my best friend who hadn’t a clue what aftg was prior to (that’s when the aftg rants officially started/ignited) and it took some time/proper discussion/consideration but he first came up with the conclusion that andrew was a sub top and that neil was a power bottom )

as for yours truly, i came to the conclusion that they are both switches (some time after i finished reading).

i mean,,,,,,can you really just look at neil josten--wholly, like his entire personality, attitude (problem !), traits, &c and decide on the spot that he’s a bottom ??? how ??? how the hell do you come up with that ?????

and hear me out, i have evidence/reasons:

keep in mind that neil (this literal fucking nobody) burned riko (supposedly the king of exy or whatever the fuck, who cares) to ground on the spot (no script, just his attitude problem (mwah i love him) and pure spite)

idk bout u but i am so damn sure andrew found out right then n there that this bitch radiates top energy for fucking sure (or, in his words, isn’t spineless)

neil knew that matt mentioned that there were bets on about him, but he didn’t know it was about this.

“it’s a waste of time and money. they’ll all lose. i’ve said all year that i don’t swing and i meant it. kissing you doesn’t make me look any of them differently. the only one i’m interested in is you.”

“don’t say stupid things.”

“make me.” and with that, neil grabbed a fistful of andrew’s hair and pulled him in.]”

dude,,,,,,,,,he can take control,,,,,he can,,,,he can lead, too, but he follows andrew’s because he’s a good boy and he knows how important it is. he improvises and uses what he has and takes control from there. dude. dude.

three) honestly? i think andrew likes it. neil’s unexpected acts of confidence,,,kinda leaves him on the edge of his seat yk,, like doesn’t it increase his percentage? it does, right? cuz ik it did when andrew guided neil to touch his chest and neil emulated andrew’s words, “i won’t be like them. i won’t let you let me be.” (i love them bye) but liek,,,,yeah idk andrew liking neil’s neck kisses/fetish kinda tells me he likes it so maybe this isn’t concrete evidence particularly but i’m still including it because andrew’s a switch, idc what anyone says,

four) i lost my train of thought but i ran out of reasons--on the spot, anyway--so i might come back to this if i do but just to make it clear:

andrew minyard is a switch. (it just takes time, like a lot, but it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily impossible/never gonna happen.)

neil josten is a switch. (he respects andrew’s boundaries and doesn’t push him, he’s fine being guided, but it doesn’t mean he can’t take the initiative himself (and i forgot to mention it but re: when he asked andrew if he doesn’t like to be touched in general or if it’s a trust thing + many more times, before & after their first kiss, i believe, my brain is just empty rn) and i just think that deserves more recognition)

so !!

(this post is a mess, (i always am but today’s just worse) i know, and i’m sorry)

in conclusion,

let neil top andrew !! they deserve it !!

(not that vice versa is bad, but this isn’t either, yk, just saying. also, i hope this isn’t too late to say in the post, but i do not, i repeat, i do not, intend to pressure any content creator--fic writers, fan artists, editors, &c--to create content this particular way only,,,,okay,,,gotta make that unequivocally clear. and i’m not saying andrew topping neil is bad or overrated, because i know that when it comes to them, sex in general would take some time, especially neil topping andrew, but i think they deserve that freedom, yk. again,,,,this is just my personal opinion. no insisting statements here, just wish for freedom to speak my mind, that is all. also feel free to interact if you agree/disagree or both !! i’m willing to hear anyone’s comments or thoughts or whatever !! i hope i’m talking to a brick wall here ahah)

A Life On The Road - Part 1 (A Luke Hemmings FanFic)

Overview: Elizabeth and Calum have been best friends since they were 15/14 respectively. Elizabeth is from and lives in the UK, but her family lived in Sydney for a brief 2 year period which is how the two met.

With Calum’s band, 5SOS, embarking on their biggest and most ambitious world tour to date, he has invited Elizabeth along to work as a photographer/content creator for their social media. This is in the hopes that travelling with them and getting to explore so many new cities will help Elizabeth achieve her dream of becoming a full-time travel writer.

Elizabeth is acquainted with the rest of 5SOS but doesn’t know them tremendously well. Obviously that changes as they are all forced to be in one another’s company for the duration of the tour. As the tour progresses and new friendships blossom, Elizabeth feels the connection between her and Luke grow more and more.

A/N: This chapter is a lot of story set-up and introduces you to the protagonist.

I lent my upper back against one of the work kitchen walls and peered out of the window beside me. Any other day, the grey curtain of drizzle would have perfectly matched my work mood. But today was not a normal work day for me. Today was my last day in this hell hole. I was finally getting out of here to pursue my dream of becoming a travel writer. I hugged my mug of coffee closer, content in the knowledge that nothing was going to step on my good mood today.

“I cannot believe you are leaving me with these people.” Drew complained as he walked over and lent some of his weight onto my shoulder while cradling his own steaming mug.

“I am sorry that I’ll be leaving you here. I truly am.” I told him, and I meant it, “But you know as well as I do how much this place can drag a person’s mental health down. So when a best friend offers to let you piggyback off their career to help launch you own, you take it and make the sacrifice of abandoning your work husband.”

“I hate that you have a famous best friend.”

“Don’t be a bitter bitch,” I laughed nudging him in the side with my elbow.

Drew and I chatted for a minute or two more before making our way back to our desks at opposite ends of the office. When I got to mine I noticed that someone (probably my manager or Josie, the company busy body) had taken my second coffee break of the morning as an opportunity to place an envelope and small gift bag by my keyboard. As I placed my coffee down I noticed that the people on my bank of desks had swivelled their chairs, and thus their attention, in my direction. I also heard the tell-tale sound of high heels on cheap carpet tiles that indicated Josie was making her way over.

“Elizabeth,” Josie cooed in her usual fake friendliness, “I can’t believe it’s your last day here already! We did a small collection for you in order to say goodbye and give you something to remember us by. It’s been such a great three years and eight months working with you. We’re all sad to see you go.”

“Thanks, Josie. I certainly will miss how precise you are with details.” I said trying not to make my sarcasm too obvious.

I rummaged in the tissue paper hoping to bring this moment in the spotlight to an end as soon as possible. First I pulled out a small, sleek rectangle. Through the plastic window of the box I spied a matte black fountain pen -it was a genuinely lovely pen which surprised me. Next I pulled out a small bottle of Kraken rum -my go to with Coke on work nights out- which was followed by a second, identical bottle. The fourth and final leaving gift was a new 10 shot pack of film for my Instax Mini camera.

“Thanks guys...” I awkwardly addressed the room, “These are all really thoughtful and nice. I love the pen. Uhh, yeah, thanks again. Stay cool and all that cliche stuff.”

I promptly sat down and unlocked my PC to indicate that the show was over and I should now be left the fuck alone.

The company’s internal IM program was flashing at me in orange, indicating I had an unread message.

[Drew Clarke - 10:47 am] I am so sorry they are putting you through this. You look so awkward. I can see you blushing from here. It is hilarious though :’D I made such a big deal about the stupid pen they wanted to get you having to be matte black Also my leaving gift to you is that I have done everything in my power to ensure Josie knows nothing about your leaving drinks tonight

I responded with a simple gif of some character I didn’t know mouthing ‘thank you’ to acknowledge his last message and then went back to work trying to complete as much of my remaining work as possible.

The rest of the day dragged on as it would any other day of the week. The only difference was that I had the occasional desk visit from a colleague to wish me luck or let me know they’d be at the leaving drinks Drew had arranged for me that evening.

And then Drew was at my desk before the clock had even hit 5 pm,

“Start packing your shit up then. We’ve got a bar to get to.”

My leaving drinks were actually surprisingly fun. Which was as much of a good thing as it was a bad thing.

It was good because who doesn’t love people buying them either shots or rum and cokes? Plus Drew and I had had a beautiful drunken moment where we gushed over how much we treasured each other’s friendship and would definitely, definitely stay in touch always, and who doesn’t love those moments?

It was bad because I got in at 3:30 am, set an alarm for 6 am and left my house for the train station at 7 am with a hangover headache already brewing.

My morning then got worse when I remembered I had to change trains at Sheffield. Non-direct train journeys are enough of a pain without a hangover, rucksack, camera bag and 2-wheeled large carry-on suitcase to slow you down.

When I finally, and ungracefully, settled myself on the platform at Sheffield I glanced around to locate where I could get myself a coffee and some form of breakfast. I had a 50 minute wait until my next train so there was plenty of time to try and nurse my hangover with coffee and carbs before getting crammed into another train and eventually reuniting with Cal in Edinburgh.

I spotted a place on the next platform over with indoor seating and made my way to it. Once inside the warmth of the glass rectangle I grabbed a twin pack of almond biscuits from the counter display and ordered a large cappuccino as well as a breakfast bagel. I then went and dumped all my luggage (promptly followed by myself) down at the nearest table and waited for my name to be called over the mellow jazz music.

Once I had returned to my table with my breakfast order, I opened my phone to check my messages and view the photographic damage from the night before. As I sipped my coffee I opened my photos app and was pleased when nothing embarrassing immediately jumped out at me from the 50+ square icons of photos and boomerangs that I had very little memory of taking. Most of the photos were blurry and every single boomerang was a fail, so I deleted them to save storage space on my phone. There was a super cute selfie of Drew and I, with his fiance, Adam, photo-bombing us in the background. It made me smile so much that I set it as the lock screen on my phone.

Next I moved on to my messages. There we unread messages awaiting me from Drew, Cal, my mum and weirdly my now ex-manager.

Manager Si: Didd u mange t geet home ok?/?. Gd luk w everythin

Work Hubby: I miss you already. Hope you got home safe! Text me by midday so I know you’re still alive x

Mum: Good luck on this big new adventure of yours! Do not forget to call us when time zones allow. Your Dad and I will always b here to support you and cannot wait to see you succeed. Say hi to Calum for us. Mum & Dad Xx

Cal: Hey, hey! So stoked to see you later and have you come oN FREAKING TOUR WITH ME!!! See ya in Edinburgh! X

I responded first to my mum, because I was raised right. I flat out ignored my old manager’s drunk text. I assured Drew that I was still alive because if I was dead it wouldn’t feel like there was a gremlin hammering away inside my skull. I followed that up with a screenshot of my new lock screen. Finally, I replied to Calum:

Morning :) Feeling rough after my leaving drinks last night. Have I already begun my new rock n’ roll lifestyle?! So fucking excited to see you again!! You are not prepared for the hug you’re gonna get! X

With everyone replied to (or ignored in Si’s case) I put my phone face down on the table and tucked into my breakfast bagel. Then as I still had 20 minutes to kill I thought what better place to slap some make-up on than the middle of a train station coffee shop?

Looking and feeling more human, I made my way from the coffee shop to platform 4 as they announced my train was about to arrive.

I hopped on carriage L, placed my luggage in the overhead rack and settled into my seat for the next 3+ hours. I quickly shot a text to my parents and Cal, letting them know I was on my last train. Then I pulled my noise cancelling headphones on, opened up a relaxing Spotify playlist and promptly fell asleep.

just lots and lots of very long-winded, random thoughts about last night’s finale and the show itself...

so obvs no one has to agree with me on any of this, i just feel like there likely ARE ppl who feel like this and it’s easy to get shut down on tumblr for having different opinions, and i mostly just need to gather my feelings and thoughts in one place.

-ive seen a handful of ppl upset that the last ep centered around reid, but if you were to take 10 fans of this show, it’s a pretty good chance that 8 or 9 of them would say reid is their fave character. that isn’t me trying to insult any of the other characters, that’s just the way it is. whether it’s bc of his looks (and my lord was he gorgeous in this finale ep), or that he’s your typical cute white boi, or more organic reasons like he’s been there since day 1 and we were able to watch him change and grow, and he’s the opposite of the typical male characters we often see, especially on cop shows.. whatever the reason, he is a VERY popular tv character. and if it weren’t for that character, for better or worse, this show would have ended a long time ago.

-the ending itself.. i just feel like i don’t know what ppl were expecting?? this is not a show like supernatural or dexter or a show that has had a fluent overarching story to tell from start to finish. the story continues without us watching it. it’s another day at the office for them. was it a great ending? no, but it was fine. we see where all of them are headed. endings are so difficult, i’m just glad they didn’t kill anyone off or some garbage like that.

-so damn happy they hooked up luke and garcia. i have had such issues with garcia’s character since morgan left, i feel like she became a caricature, where she just overacts and i recently read an article with kirsten where she actually admitted that when shemar left she really didn’t know what to do with her character anymore. honestly? it showed. the obnoxiousness to luke was cute at first bc she obviously had a crush on him, but then it just became mean and out of character. this season i was happy to see her get a little bit more back to herself. all this being said, they were very clearly headed towards getting luke and garcia together this season with the overt flirting and one on one convo’s, i’m so glad they went through with it instead of leaving it open ended. and i will admit that of all the characters, i didn’t think garcia would be the one to leave, but it made sense. garcia is tough as hell, much tougher than she gives herself credit for, but like luke said, she can do this other job without the gore that she cringes over in literally every single episode of the show. also loved jj saying garcia was the glue of the team. so true, so well said. and side note, kirsten does a hell of a job writing these characters that she knows all too well, the other writers should’ve just let her take over in later seasons.

-prentiss... i love my emily so dang much, but man they give her the absolute worst dialogue. she gets stuck with all these long sentences that just.. they just don’t flow?? and it takes me out of the show so often. this has been since s12 when she became unit chief. there has been a handful of times since she became the boss that we have had flashes of old school smartass goth girl emily, and i cherished each moment, but it wasn’t enough. somewhere along the way they forgot how to write into the show that their characters had PERSONALITY. just as an example of the stupid dialogue she gets.. the end of the ep where it’s intended to look like rossi’s retirement party. then, idk who it was, emilys boyfriend maybe(?) says some dumb comment about oh gee i thought this was dave’s retirement! and then emily starts some awkwardly long line that could’ve been summed up in “dave decided not to retire afterall” and it was just soooo... weird?!!? if we are agreeing that A MONTH has gone by.. you are to tell me that it never once came up that dave said he was gonna retire and then changed his mind!??! that night, one month later, is the first that this discussion occurred!!?!?! and all of these dumb lines come out sounding so robotic, and i can’t blame paget, bc the lines are boring as hell. also unless i missed something i can’t rule emily out of being the next director, especially since their profile ended up being correct, lynch and the mom didn’t kill themselves, so i’m sure when that all came out, the next hurdle emily would have to clear is how they just blew up their very expensive jet right after having a budget meeting 2 episodes ago!!

- i’m gonna lump the newer characters together.. and just say that it was all too little, too late. they tried to give matt and luke more this season, and the ep’s centered on them were great, but it all felt forced to me. all this character development should’ve started as soon as they came onto the show. the relationships between the new and original characters also feels forced a lot of times, barring relationships like rossi and his boys, luke and garcia, tara and emily.. i mean that’s kind of all, right? we never saw much off-the-job, personal interactions between them and the rest of the characters, did we? and the way tara was treated on this show is inexcusable. aisha’s talents were so underused on this show it was criminal (pun intended). and actually, the above stuff i said about emily getting nonsense dialogue, you can throw matt in there too. his dialogue was friggin god awful at times on this show. in the words of early seasons reid, maybe try to be more conversational, writers!!

-man oh man was jj a badass and a half in this finale. tbh i always enjoyed liaison jj more than ssa jj, but when badass jj comes out i get all excited. i do feel like she would be the best fit to take over if emily left, she’d stepped into that role before and excelled. but she is another character that at times i think the writers just forgot how to write her personality somewhere along the way. i understand that the reality is that people change over time, but there were times that she was written like a typical high school mean girl, and that was just an insult to the character they created. the whole jeid thing was severely overblown and unnecessary. i don’t hate the idea of them being together, but why wait til s14-15 to deal with this? in the end i thought it was handled okay, i personally didn’t feel like it ruined their friendship or stayed awkward, which i appreciated, it was just a storyline that wasn’t needed and wasted time. also, ppl griping about “oh but she clearly loves will, if she loves spencer then she can’t love will!” i mean, actually, ppl are capable of loving more than one person at a time, hate to burst that bubble for ya.

-this seems like a good moment though to pause and just get this out about will lamon-fuckin-tagne jr... this guy is too good for jj lol, i am sorry but he is such a great guy. and can we review some things about will and his wife’s bestest friend, godfather to his children, spencer reid?? when will and spencer first met, it was during an unbelievably personal case to will, i mean his father died sending him a message about this case that the fbi was called in on. and his first intro with reid?? let’s see, reid spent that ep strung out on drugs, and full on abandoning the case to go hang out with his friend at a club/bar/lounge/whatever. ok, so that’s will’s first impression of jj’s bestie, and will STILL okay’d him being the godfather of his kids. not to mention, can you imagine your wife has been gone in the damn middle east for who even knows how long, then when she finally gets back and you think you’re gonna have her to yourself, but oh no, here comes jj’s friggin bestie again to come cry on the couch every night for several weeks!!!! and he gives zero indication of not liking spencer, in fact he seems rather fond of him. will is the most patient man ever, i swear.

-ok that was an unexpected side track. moving onto rossi. not sure why they were all like oh pfft this guy will never retire. the dude literally retired before the show started lol. if he retired once, when he was fairly young, why is the idea of it happening again so impossible? again, dumb dialogue. i loved the stuff with him and young gideon (i may be biased tho bc i’m just so damn proud of ben savage), i loved that rossi knew more about the jet than the others, however that was an inconsistency bc when rossi came back from retirement, he couldn’t believe the bau had its own jet. unless i just misunderstood what emily meant when she said it all started with rossi and gideon. i felt like lynch was a very underwhelming villain. super forgettable. there was no charisma like foyet or cat adams, there was no creep factor like mr scratch, there was no mystery like the replicator or the fisher king. his whole story just fell flat, and if there were anything interesting about him whatsoever, it’s bc of what rossi brought to the table, not the “chameleon”.

-my boy reid. he has several lifetimes of baggage to unpack, and i think of all the characters on this show, no one hates unpacking their trauma more than reid. i feel like it was so relatable that he could barely speak in this ep without sounding on the verge of tears, like every sentence was painful to even get out bc of how much hurt is stored up inside him. his trauma has defined him for years now, and if they had ended the show without addressing even some of it, the show would’ve been incomplete. i understand that actors schedules just don’t work out sometimes, but idk what the point was of having strauss and foyet be his devil and angel. and foyet’s long explanation of how bc he changed hotch, he changed the team was so convoluted that he may as well have just said “they couldn’t get james van der beek or the dude who played mr scratch, so im here instead”. i liked what they did with reid and maeve, and i actually don’t mind that there was no mention of max. they’re still very early in their relationship, and i feel like him coming out with some “wait i think i love max!” revelation would just be too fast and ooc. we already know that the relationship between them is growing, it doesn’t need to be said. and can i get an amen that maeve and reid didn’t kiss bc god that would’ve been weird as hell.

- i hate that we couldn’t have hotch or morgan or blake or elle or any of the main characters that helped make this show what it was, but i’m still grateful for the crumbs they gave us if the actors just couldn’t be booked for whatever reason. i’ve seen many shows at their end just try to pretend their previous characters never existed, so that we got some flashbacks with them was appreciated.

- RIP bau jet. i wiiiill reMEMber youuuuuuu.

-the song choice of david bowie’s Heroes was perfection. strangely, when i was driving home from work yesterday that song came on my playlist and i blasted it on repeat and performed a car concert for my fellow drivers on the road, and thought to myself that this song would be great for cm to end on. never thought they would actually do it since they had previously used the song in penelope’s ep. but what a great scene of all them dancing and singing and laughing like the bunch of nerdy idiots they are.

-i came late into the game with this show. ppl have been telling me for years to watch it and i only picked up watching in s13, after i read a spn/cm crossover fic and became super curious about who all these awesome characters were. with that said, i’m aware that since i haven’t invested years of my life in this show, that my feelings and thoughts about the ending will be different than those who have been hooked on this show for over a decade. i’m still just so thankful for the family portrayed by this show, and these characters i fell in love with, and episodes i’ll never forget.

Baby 11x04

This episode never fails to make me smile! Such a good meta to tell a story from the POV of The Impala. I know J2 loved doing this one, and it really begins the massive bro feels that is season 11. After the terrible fights between the brothers that had part of almost every season since the beginning, and the depressing, near fatal arc that was the Mark of Cain, finally, the Winchester boys are on the same page!! Nothing in the series has done my heart so good as for the world to be crumbling to ashes around them, but they’re cruising down the road with the radio blasting, singing Night Moves together 😍💖

Now, I heard a story about this scene, told by a man. I cant remember what man, though he worked on this episode. I cant link you so, take it as you will.. The story went that, They knew they wanted the brothers to be driving down the road playing a good old classic and wasnt sure what song to use, and Eugenie said “Oh, Night Moves, definitely” and they thought it was great and all agreed. It was supposed to just be J2 ad libbing as soon as the music starts and they would edit parts together later. Jared would be on vacation that week, so they did the Night Moves scene first, and would finish the rest of his scenes when he got back (this is why he wasnt in much of the 2nd half) so as soon as the music starts, the boys are making it up as they go. The “One of the greatest rock writers in history Samuel” “It’s Sam” on their own, the show runners loved it so they kept it, then Sam sings “Out in the back seat of my brother’s 67 Chevy” they loved that too, and wanted to keep it BUT there were a couple problems, much of what the song has already sung, sounds like it applies to Sam “I was a little too tall, coulda used a few pounds” etc and what followed “Working on mysteries without any clues” so Sam singing about the backseat sounds a little... provokative, especially since Sam has never had sex in the car in canon LOL so in order to keep the line, without it implying wincest, was to write into the story that Sam had sex in the car. So, we got Piper. The part where Dean comes back to the car to find Sam with Piper, was recorded while Jared was on vacation, and he literally phoned in his end of the conversation, and then the story adjustments were made later.

Like I said, I cant find a link, it was something I came accross early in my SPN days , and it makes sense as to why it was randomly thrown in that Sam was having sex in the car when he never has before, and apparently, not even there when it happens ( when shes looking for her hair pin, you can tell Sam isnt in the car)

The Night Moves scene is to me, the happiest scene in the series. I love seeing Sam smile.and how he says “Dont... Night Moves me” as if this is something Dean has done before. I love them full on laughing, eating, singing and bickering “you’re not even looking at the road!” and just loving being together and not caring the world is doomed. I dont care what happens on the show, no one can ever convince me these 2 are not the center of each others universe. So the show progresses and Sam is exhausted and has a snooze in the back seat, where he dreams about their father. This is a good scene, Sam looks genuinely spooked... As much as I love JDMs John, I love Matt Cohen’s John too. He’s always more calm and rational. as John would have been before all the trouble happened. Ive always felt like young John was like Sam, and older John was more like Dean. Was this done on purpose? I think it probably was, so we could see the similarities better.

Sam is startled awake, and Dean is researching, “Welcome to the Winchester Motel, where we dont have cable, but we do have room service” and hands Sam a beer. This becomes one of the longest and best conversations we get to see the boys have. Sam comes clean about having been infected, I expected Dean to be angry he kept that from him, but he wasnt. He did show concern, but who wouldnt? I know some of you complain “But its none of his business!! Sam doesnt have to tell him anything!!??” while that’s true, when you love someone, you want to know when they’re sick, or in some kind of trouble... even if you cant help them, when you love someone, you reserve the right to worry about them. It can hurt deeply when you find out your loved one held back something important from you.... but Dean let it slide and let Sam talk. It did Sam some good obviously, as he was calm enough to go back to sleep and gave Dean the Winchester “I love you” with “Goodnight Jerk”and Dean returned the jesture with an “i love you too” “goodnight bitch” and Sam smiled.

The boys settle in to sleep and leave us with an instant iconic shot of them sleeping next to each other from overhead. The episode could have ended here and I would be fine. The rest was kinda boring IMO especially when Sam isnt there anymore and Dean is dealing with the “Werepires” this is the only reason why this episode didnt make my top 10. Ive watched this episode well over 100 times and still love to know its up next in my binge queue. Im so happy SPN is brave enough to think outside the box and do different things... sometimes it doesnt work, but in this case it did... very much!

WWE Royal Rumble 2019 - Preview & Predictions

Brock Lesnar (c) vs Finn Balor – WWE Universal Championship Match

So, they really are going with Finn one on one then? I mean there’s still time for Vince to change his mind and add Braun to the bout too….

I’m really glad Balor’s getting the opportunity after missing out on it last year, but I wish they had more actual time to set the feud and build it properly rather than the rush job it received. After seeing them together it looked like Brock is happy to sell for him which will be vital, and Finn will be able to build a fun match around it.

I don’t think many are expecting a title change, and im not either, as most Rumble title matches are pretty throw away as its too close to Mania to always be switching the belts, don’t get me wrong some years they do but its more often they don’t. Brock to win and disappear until Mania, Finn to struggle to get into the Elimination Chamber match or just get put into a completely different feud away from it all – LESNAR

Daniel Bryan (c) vs AJ Styles – WWE Championship Match

No surprise this should be a great bout, but I really want a longer reign for Daniel and AJ needs some time away from the belt eventually as he’s been involved for a LONG time.

Im not sure what more to say for this, I like the promos Bryan has been presenting with the subtle changes from his face character but emphasizing the health aspects as heelish, clever. AJ having to punch Vince and then be in the ring with him with no problems this week was weird, ESPECIALLY as Braun lost his title shot after flipping Vince’s limo but Styles punched him in the face and he loved it!! – BRYAN

Men’s Royal Rumble Match

Not the best built Rumble match in terms of potential winners, and those that are the favourite’s aren’t really on a hot run ready to take the world title at Wrestlemania.

When looking at a final four im going with Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio, I think the obvious winner is Rollins and hope they look to a surprise victor instead. Both Joe and Drew would be great, but of they really want to go big they should think about having an NXT guy enter and WIN. Think about the shock and press that would get if Matt Riddle or Ricochet enter and take it, Riddle needs to enter wearing his old ‘Retire Brock Lesnar’ shirt and you have a ready built Mania feud between two former MMA/UFC athletes. But lets not rule out a Braun entry late on as well….

Surprises, for me id be looking at Pete Dunne/Tyler Bate, Shayna Baszler, Ricochet and Jinny from the current rosters, then as a random lets go for Tatanka…..why not. Please don’t waste a space again on Hornswoggle.

Women’s Royal Rumble Match

The build has soooooo annoying, remember everyone the women HAVE to be built as bitchy, shouty and screamy by these writers, hate it so much.

Usual faces will appear with afew NXT girls after last we had past faces returning, but I just cant get into the women’s Rumble as Charlotte seems locked on to take the W. Anyone else wont really be newsworthy if they succeed, but, if everyone watching knows that and Charlotte is in for awhile there’s a chance they may turn on her during the bout slightly with it being predictable – CHARLOTTE

Ronda Rousey (c) vs Sasha Banks – Raw Women’s Championship Match

A well built feud with a challenger that is more than capable of coming across as a serious threat for Ronda, great. I may feel Banks is alittle over-rated but still can appreciate what she brings to the table.

I really hope this finishes with Ronda beating her with the armbar but also grabbing her hair in the move and pulling her extensions out to really show her who’s boss – ROUSEY

Asuka (c) vs Becky Lynch – SD Live Women’s Championship Match

This really looks a one-sided outcome doesn’t it? And it pains me to say that as I love Asuka but she’s been handled awfully since last years Mania, the only way she wins here is if they have an interesting idea for Becky on entering the Rumble match later, this does feel like a show opener to me.

Becky should win, then we will enter a weird time in them figuring out what the plans are for Mania and how they will handle the out cry’s from people upset with it – LYNCH

The Bar (c) vs Shane McMahon & The Miz

I have zero interest in this and have no reason why anyone should, poor Shane having to take stupid bumps weekly to not look bad infront of the boys and make himself look vital. No way om taking that boot from Sheamus, especially with Cesaro holding my head still, nope �� THE BAR

Buddy Murphy (c) vs Akira Tozawa vs Kalisto vs Hideo Itami – Cruiserweight Championship Fatal 4 Way Match – Kick-off Match

Try and get as many cruisers on the show why don’t you. Personally, I still don’t think there’s a solid enough guy to take the title from Buddy just yet, but they do usually like to have someone lose in a four 4 without taking the pin to help the feud run longer don’t they?

Im going to go with Buddy though as I really rate the guy and have since his NXT time and know he is out there to prove his-self every night he wrestles – MURPHY

Rusev (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura – SD Live United States Championship Match – Kick-off Match

Man I feel for these guys, getting hardly any tv time then being put on the pre-show, you may as well just cancel this match and put the both in the Rumble (they probably will anyway). Just give the title a month off and promise to focus on them heavy the following month, otherwise these two could become unsettled again on the roster, not the best time with Nakamura’s contract running out soon.

No title change here, not worth it, expect a rematch on SD Live this week – RUSEV

The Rumble’s usually always a fun show and hasn’t been watered down too much adding the extra Rumble match, this shouldn’t be any different. I really hope they have a few surprise on the show that help everything be better.

I want two guys starting the Rumble and staying around till towards the end, enemies helping each other survive in a show of respect, Rey and Andrade anyone?

i decided to wait until episode 8 had aired before i made a decision on how i felt about the last few episodes. there were so many great moments (not just good, truly great) and i love the show for every second of those--BAMF magnus, jace banter, maia (alisha steals every scene she’s in), luke’s protective streak, eme’s acting, alec coming into his own, simon’s story weaving in all of the characters....

and yet, here i am. “here” being this nebulous spot between frustrated and understanding the limitations of a show that features seven main characters. all seven of whom of i’ve grown to love in their own unique ways and want to see pieces of each of their stories just as much as the others.

i can’t deny that i started watching shadowhunters because of magnus and alec, though. and episodes 7 and 8 have given me some of the best moments between them. harry and matt own every scene they’re in together. period. full stop.

so how did i end up “here?”

their first time together and magnus revealing his eyes to alec are two major events that were missing from show!canon. i had hope that both would be treated well by writers who have, so far, exceeded my expectations when it comes to magnus and alec. and yet, as i finished last night’s episode i couldn’t help but be disappointed by the writing.

it wasn’t the lack of a morning after scene at the beginning of episode 8 that finally tipped me over the edge–it was the situation in which alec saw magnus’ cat eyes.

with one two-minute scene we could have seen magnus and alec in a pre-sex or morning after setup where magnus decides to let down the glamour for alec, and alec alone. no on-screen “sex” needed. that would’ve been even more intimate and personal than any sex scene. i can’t help but wish that, in this case, harry and matt had been given the material to show us those two events through alec and magnus’ experiences. instead we got fade-to-black, a conversation with jace, and magnus revealing those eyes in front of a woman he detests....

*sigh*

i can’t sugercoat it. in a show that has treated malec with such care until now, these two “firsts” were a complete and utter misfire. those are opportunities for show!canon that we’ll never get back.

i’m not pissed. im just beyond disappointed.

so.

here i am.

and if you know anything from following me, it’s that i’m cynical and sarcastic, but i also have a lot of gratitude and hope.

those misfires don’t dampen my enthusiasm to see what comes next. harry and matt consistently deliver portrayals of magnus and alec that are on point, emotional, and include details that make every second matter. i’ll still be in front of my tv next monday at 8pm excited about what comes next.

and until then...

in the iconic words of ruelle, where do we go from here? well, there's nothing in show!canon that says (yet) that was actually the first time alec saw magnus’ eyes. and there’s nearly nothing to go on for their first time together. so, as for me, i’m going to be writing. and i hope you are too.

‘cause this is what fandom is for.

we develop new worlds. branch off into alternate timelines. we fix shit.

go forth and create.
