more funny post than serious this time just because I don't understand it.

on a silly little mobile game that I play; you collect pictures and mementos of cats. They leave a memento after a while.

I have a memento from a cat that I have been unlucky enough to never get a picture of while they're there in my virtual yard.

I check the game like every hour or maybe sometimes more than that but they're not even in the rare cats list at the end of the catbook thing.

what? I don't understand, lol. funny in a stupid way..

also how do? Is there a strategy to neko atsume or is it just set out toys you think are cute and that attract cats? Or should I try to get the best ones that attract the most and rare cats to hopefully get the premium currency faster?

I wanna have fun but I also wanna maximize profits and stuff too... but that's less cute and less fun that way...

and I already restarted once because I didn't do the recommended thing and buy the yard expansion first for a lot of gold fish... now I've sunk much more time into it and bought the yard expansion first. But am still maybe being inefficient with gold fish and fish in general.....

I wanna be efficient but also have fun and play the game slowly like it's supposed to be played....

Aside from the campus screen, the Galaxy Express, the Library(Story) screen, and the Characters tab also have chibis, and some comments may be easier to see on them You can swap out chibis in these locations by restarting the game, except for Galaxy Express which cycles through the characters in your first squad.

I don't know what time Towa starts talking so I had to guess where his actual word dialogue goes since nothing is labeled in the scripts I can see. Once I figure it out I'll probably go in and edit the post.

Hello guys!!! Its been so long!

I've taken a hiatus from this blog because back then I had lowkey given up on manifestation. Not that I wasn't or haven't had any success with manifesting, but, I wasn't mentally stable and couldn't take time to manifest properly. I had a lot going on and had to put my mind up first. 

The main part also being, I wasn't practicing what I was preaching. I would always go through the cycle of being like "Oh yeah, I'm a master manifestor!! I'm going to get everything I want" to "omg I don't know what I'm doing, I'm never going to manifest", which was not even slightly beneficial. 

With that being said, I'm not deleting any of my old posts. Most of them I honestly still agree with. Also, I have so many posts that there's no way I can go through them all easily. 

I came back to the manifestation community mostly because of nostalgia. I found myself always slowly coming back to the community. I feel that now that I'm older and have different life circumstances going on, I am able to better understand the Law and how to use it.  Even while outside the community, I have manifested things such as, 2 sp's, one sp that is now my girlfriend, somewhat having my dream room, embodying a sort of intimidating vampire vibe, better style, more clothes, being prettier in general, clearer skin, and being the sort of mysterious pretty girl in school.

If you got this far in reading, you're probably wondering, what's up now?? Well, now that I'm back, I've been reading up, trying to find other bloggers that resonate with me. Thanks to the bloggers @etherealkissed88 and @babygothprincess I am officially restarting my manifestation journey. I resonate with a lot of their posts and have been a fan of them for a long, long time. But, now that I'm older, their posts actually make a lot more sense to me than they did 2 years ago. 

I will mostly post my updates and new findings as my journey progresses. I am so excited to be manifesting again and to be back within the community!!

My brain: I mean in the first runs, they ended in the neutral ending. Donna loved them but still choose to let them go. She warned them about Miranda thinking that what she wanted was another cult member, a important one the key to bring back Eva and for that reason Miranda was obsessed with Mc.

She did that a lot of times. In the last one Mc confessed their love and she still let them go.

Then the next one she fights for keeping that and she wins.

Now her Depresion and suicidal ideation are gone with the power of love!

Hahaha no.

She is happier, but still have bad days, the difference is that now Mc is helping to manage it. Sometimes that means holding her while she cries to sleep, sometimes is making food for her, sometimes is just working in silence, what she needs vary but MC is there for her.

Me: that sounds like dependence.

My brain: it is! Donna is dependent to Mc like she is to Angie. Without them she will fall to edge and guess what?

Me: what?

My brain: Mc know it! They were searching for a good and reliable therapist! They know that she needs profesional help also life is a roulete something could happen to them and donna will not cope well with that like she is now. So they talked about that with Angie and in the last months they talked with donna, they were planning to go slowly and they were trying some methods to help her.

Buuuut

They were reseted.

And truly if they had more time Donna will had gotten a lot better and even after everything she would hadn't gone to the deep end.

Now, when donna remember that life she is heartbroken and had a really bad attack.

Me: see you are hurting her!

My brain: she gets better!

Me: what?

My brain: she remember that Mc and Angie wanted her to actually heal so she tries for them. She had no idea with who Mc ends before the loop is restarted.

Is a sisyphean task. Because every time she makes progress she is reseted, yes she remembers the past loops but her brain is not capable of keeping all the information. Even so she is advancing a little.

And if MC never had come back to her she would had gotten better. Not as good as with them but better.

MC comes back to her, she fights and lose. Her cult end happens again and again and again.

My brain: she is not a step of the edge anymore after all that, she is holding a rock so she doesn't fall!

You see after Mc don't came back. She still had a few memories were she worked in her mental health, she was planning in working on that again.

Did she missed Mc? Yes

But they don't choose her this time.

But she loved them. She still do. So if they are happy and safe with someone else then that's enough for her.

She was curious but she doesn't go out her way to find who is with Mc.

They arent with Angie she would have know it Or with Daniela or Cassandra.

So she thinks is Bela but then she is called to help to reset her.

That left alcina. She is not all happy about that but is enough.

She gets the answers that she never wanted when Miranda calls for a meeting and see Mc by her side with that lovesick look and something darker.

And Miranda looks at her.

Smiling all smug and proud of herself.

After that her mind goes blank. She doesn't know what she did until is already done.

She cries, she begs for forgiveness, she is an absolute wreck.

Me sobbing in the floor: STOP PLEASE.

My sadistic evil brain: and Mc came back to her.

Now, the amount of trauma that the past loops put her through, especially the last one is too much.

She doesn't care anymore if she dies. If Miranda take away Angie then she will end everything. She doesn't care anymore she just wants Miranda to suffer.

And can you blame her?

She truly doesn't want to hurt Mc. And when she kills them she is gentle and fast.

She only do this when Mc is with Miranda. She let's them be with the others bachelorettes.

Its just bad luck and Miranda influence that Mc ends with the headmistress a lot more of times.

And Donna keeps her word even if she is losing parts of her every single time.

When Mc is finally with her she doesn't feel like she had won.

"Okay, lovely Balemates. As much as I don't want to admit this. I need help with the story. I have some ideas, and bounced some ideas off my brothers, and it's kind of unintentionally turning into a mascot horror game, but I would like other options. So this leads me to a big announcement! "That's right! I am opening playtesting! Something I usually wouldn't do, but I want to get your opinion on which story would work better." Donnie swaps out the game with a document, "Now as you can read here, the first round of testing will be open to the 'Softshell' and higher, levels of Patreon members. And you will have access to the at this point, checking notes, 6 different possible stories, but it's only the opening part of the game, mainly the lore dump." Donnie takes a breath and a drink of coffee.

"You will all be compensated upon messaging the unique image at the end of the demo to my personal Social Media. Dee_Softshell 💜. Compensation includes an amount of money depending on how many of the demos you complete, you will receive a large discount of the game when it's released, and there will be special effects added to your name when you write in chat." Donnie pauses to switch to the next page. While he does a few graphics of a few chat boxs labeled placeholder each with different colored bandanas based on the brothers, pops up on the screen.

"The Second Round will then include the 'Slider' Level, and be technically in beta hopefully, where we will hopefully narrow down the possible stories, and maybe mix things up. Depending on feedback of course. Now this version of the demo will include some work in progress of a story ideas that are more finalized, but need better context. Compensation is the same as above, just with a smaller discount on the game, and a different special effect." Donnie brings up another set of placeholder chatboxs with different stitched plushtoy ears.

"Now there is one more thing to add to this, we're going to need some voices for this game to work, not to mention music. Yes I forgot to put together music, and yes I want to have voice acting, it will make sense once you see the demos. Mandarin has been working very very very, 3 verys, hard on the character models, and looks forward to your feedback on them. So we are going to open auditions after the first round ends. Keep a look out for updates." Donnie does a slight bow, and then moves the document off the screen, and brings the game back up.

"Now, you will be watching me try to find out why this environments textures won't load properly, and why multiple props keep crashing the game to random degrees of bad. If I remember right, one caused to the entire computer to need a restart, and I had to end the stream there. Because I just found out the one specific item, and it's literally only that one item, that causes that type of crash. Frustrated Growl" Donnie voice gains a deep growl to it as they say this. "You may even be treated to me losing my mind along the way. Keep watching to find out"

As the stream goes on the chat was in fact treated to Donnie letting out a scream of frustration, and threatening to destroy their keyboard if the program crashed again after they were sure they finally fixed the crashing bugs.

And the audio cut out right before what the audience can only assume was a long string of words that were not family friendly enough for the stream. The model paces around 'yelling' before eventually sitting back down and glares at the program, which made it look like he was glaring/pouting in the direction of the camera.

The audience was very entertained, and many clips of the stream circled social media for quite a while after it ended, and was of course turned into a set of memes.

Masterpost Part One

Was tempted to type out a few of the possible 'main story' ideas, but I fear I would ramble on about them. I swear if it wasn't for many factors I could swear I was actually trying to make this game a real thing!! That's how focused on the possible story of a fictional game, I am!!

I've made more SOTE progress!!!! And I MEAN progress this time! Damn that was fun but I don't know whether to feel happy or sad because like I said, I really don't want this DLC to end ;-;

1) So, I went in the direction of the ruins place..... and then turned around and decided to get back to whatever dragons business I still had left bfhhhvhg And started with that cave which I recalled had a Wyrm (and also a HUGE bowl of spaghetti sauce gfhyhh)

2) After I killed it, I actually went back to Florissax! Apparently this is the name of Dragon Communion Priestess that is revealed indirectly, much like Boggart's! By that time, @val-of-the-north woke up and I allowed him to take my hand here because he warned me that her quest is terribly broken. And, God... -_- You have no idea how much, but perhaps I am getting ahead of myself....... 🤦‍♂️

3) I heard that I needed to kill two drakes above first, and my reaction was just 💀💀💀💀💀 Because I am AWFUL at fighting them! ......Or I USED to be, but perhaps I am getting ahead of myself hfuhfhybj [2]

4) Found this item in a shack nearby!

5) So, I figured that my usual "strategy" was not going to fly, and finally bothered to upgrade a weapon (big katana) with the built-in anti-dragon effect! You know, a weapon you OBTAIN in this very DLC! HOOOOOO BOY AT LAST!! TWO WEEKS LATER, SHE FINALLY GOT THE BRIGHTEST IDEA TO USE THE TOOLS SHE'S BEEN GIVEN 🙄🤦‍♂️

6) So I proceeded to go above, and met a singular drake, so I decided to actually fight it normally! No pussy long ass distance dumbass Int user combat! Close combat and learning the dodging patterns only!!

And it actually worked. I actually finally adapted to the dragons' moveset and when to roll in and not away, and how to stay around their feet right and how to run from the fire! After two goddamn years of struggling with dragons (excluding SOMEHOW first-trying Borealis, the frozen dragon) I adapted 🙄🙄🙄🤦‍♂️

7) Cool lore:

8) So yeah, in the next place, there were two drakes fighting each other (sure guys whatever), and I figured the boss one can first kill the weaker one so I was just standing and watching them like 🍿 until one left!

9) After defeating THIS one, I felt so much power that I decided to side-track and go back to kill two other dragons (the undead ones in Scadu Altus and Cerulean Coast). I didn't need it, I just felt SUCH a strong urge to do that, you have no idea!!!

9.1) Well, first I actually talked with Igon, because after both of the fighting drakes were killed he laughs and praises us for being a great drake warrior xD He gave me an item (his cut finger) that opens a change to summon him against Bayle, which he really asked to do!

9.2) Okay ANOTHER thing I did was to finally jOiN cOvEnAnT to talk with Florissax that Val asked me to do, because according to him I needed to talk to her at night, which was only possible after defeating the two drakes + I could now ask about Igon

9.3) She also revealed the roots of Dragon fascism; turns out that Ancient Dragons are after Drakes not for some prejudice reason against their species being "diluted", but because Bayle was the one to wound Placidusax and HE is the drake. Argh, can ONE person in this DLC have motivation to be an asshole that is NOT revenge!

10) So I was running around for a bit longer, visited another mine not far away from previous dragon (saw the big rock dude petting the lava slime there), and finally returned to Florissax!

....so, first, she was not appearing during the night. I tried to rest at the grace, still nothing. I tried again, nothing. I asked Val what was going on, and he wasn't sure and went looking on forums, meanwhile I tried to restart from another grace and travel to her location before the night was over! She still did not appear. 🙄

At this rate I started to wonder whether I broke the quest by not talking to her earlier before getting to Igon, but just for the heck of it rested at grace again, but now I skipped time to the night even though it already WAS the night! And then she FINALLY appeared near the Altar at night!! ...only, no new options or dialogue appeared!

According to Val again, I needed to catch her praying to herself so I could give her an item I already had. I reloaded the area, no praying. Reloaded it again, still nothing. Reloaded it again, and she straight up disappeared 🤦‍♂️ I thought that was it, and quest got broken, but just in case I quit the game and started it again.... AND IT WORKED.

....I am WITHOUT WORDS. According to Val, Jarburg quest used to be the same on launch.

11) But yes, she was praying to Placidussax, saying she surrendered her sleep so he could rest, and we got the choice to use Thiollier potion, that did mention it'd merely make dragons sleep for a bit. Damn... to think of it, Elden Ring quests give enough hints.

12) Val reassured me that was it and I just needed to skip a few days in game, so I went to murder remaining drakes! Fast enough, I killed them! Both of them!! However, the one in Scadu Altus was fighting with a lot of Black Knights and it was just entertaining to watch for like 15 minutes until they all finally died 🍿🍿🍿

13) me before: NOOOOO WHY DRAGONS ARE SO HARD, Val I do NOT want to hear your yapping about how they're not """that""" bad, I don't care and I will just run past them ;-;

me now: NOOOOOO WHY ALL DRAGONS IN THE GAME ARE OVER ALREADY, they needed to put more of them in to kill!!!! ;-;

14) I talked to her, where she was very crashed by having fallen asleep:

"I have broken my pledge. I succumbed to the deep slumber... that was meant for my Lord. Twas a craven act! Of a foul and lowly beast! Forgive me, good warrior. My Lord will no longer look upon me. I have fallen from grace. An old dragon no longer. Go on, leave me be."

15) So, I did gfjgffhg And proceeded to go above! Honestly, when I was looking at this area in the world's map, I was SURE it wasn't explorable...

Also, my complaining about no longer having dragons to kill was met!! There was another dragon, an ancient one now! It gave me a bit of a challenge for several times, but I remembered that rocky things are all weak to magic damage so that + defending myself from bolt more helped x)

15.1) This dragon is named Senessax... Sigh... Remember my theory about Placidussax? Zullie (the youtuber) datamined that he had 2 male heads and 3 female heads (1 male and 2 female missing), so I speculated that those heads turned into Granssax, Fortissax and Lanseax? Now that there are more dragons named with -sax, I feel like this theory aged like milk ;-; On the bright note, I recall King's Field (?) had a pair of white and black dragons siblings, so since Fortissax is black and Lanseax is pale and they're siblings, maybe it is return of the trope?

15.2) Fingers in the Ruins are rocky creatures with gold (AKTYALY amber) sewn into them, and ancient dragons are rocky creatures with amber sewn into them... I guess the ancient life is just like this?

16) I finally met Bayle!!!!!! And I actually laughed when Igon INSTANTLY started screaming curses at him upon being summoned XDDD The most character ever! Also cute that he said Bayle was going to face "the true drake warrior and him" gfhhbv He doesn't acknowledge himself as one anymore because of his fear, but acknowledges US!

Took me a few tries, but like I said, I finally adapted! 😎

18) I talked with Florissax about the victory! She gave dialogue: "Ahh, finally, our wish is granted. Our dream, long yearned for, has come to pass. My Lord was blessed with great insight. He saw in the insatiable hunger and fierce spirit of man, the very things that would fell Bayle, our wretched nemesis. Warrior, you soar with the strength of dragons. Whereas I am fallen. Leave me be."

And gave this item! Sooooo that's how her name got revealed!

19) There was an option to tell her that we put her into sleep ;-; I was a bit nervous to pick it but felt like I should jtythhhgb

"Never, in all my years... How could you inflict such cruelty? No, that is not for me to judge. Whatever your hand in it, it was I who succumbed to the sweetness of slumber. The fault lies with me. I may be fallen, but I need not surrender my honour."

Arghhh shut up girl, you talk like an abuse victim :/ Not even a slap in the face?

20) So, she continued:

"On the second thought (? not certain, I forgot to write the starter), I believe you do owe me something for the transgression. On a mere whim, you've stripped me of my one and only Lord. As such, I require another - you. One day, may you become a dragon whole, a Lord of your own making. Lead me, and I will follow. My good Lord."

.....well, "now you have to adopt me" is sure one way to solve the conflict, I guess hfhgfnh

So yeah, I ASSUME that her set is available, and I am not 100% sure whether her head piece is just the mask or simply how her head is supposed to look! She does have a face data, but she would need to since her model uses NPC mechanics, so it could be ignored?

I just haven't seen the description yet, but ER logic does let us adopt to appearances of others (like getting hair of other characters for example), and her body appears to be very black and shriveled, with sharp inhuman features! I sure hope that her look IS how ancient dragons in human form are supposed to look! It would offer an insight on how Lansseax used to look when communicating with the Dragon Cult!

(Besides I am still biased since I wss cursed with boring portrayals of Godwyn x Fortissax where the latter was a basic bitch yaoi bishounen without even the slightest monstrous features 😔 Even horny Lanseax waifu artistd had the basic dignity to at least add some horns and scales hfhyghj Okay that was my monthly voucher of being a petty bitch used, until the next time when my mask of respecting all type of creations cracks hdhhjgfhhnhh)

ALRIGHT THIS IS GONNA BE LONG, since I know you also like hazbin I'm gonna put it in the end, now let's prioritize my litle cult simulator bc I bet you would like it for the family drama and divinity theme

ANYWAYS "the silence of the lamb" is actualy called "Cult Of The Lamb"! And it's a game on steam, created by the indie company Massive Monster. It's a rougue like mixed with farming-simulator(more like cult-simulator).

The just of the game is, you build a cult and go on crusades to progress the story and gain more followers+resources

By gameplay perspective it's ADICTIVE, my only experience with the rouguelike genre was deadcells(a damn good experience), and with farming-simulators was the ol sns harvest moon(an ok experience for lil me, a boring one for big me), the charming animation with a good feel for combat(i can feel that axe breaking my enemies skulls) adds to the experience,It's fast paced wich I love, farming games aren't that much up my alley bc I like to DO stuff, but when mixed with another genre like in this I love it(like i did with spiritfarer)!

Now for the juicy part, the story! I love the story, it's short but you can do so much with it(the fandom is extremely creative and surportive). The 4 bishops(gods) of "the old faith" heard of a profecy, the One Who Waits(also a god) would be free of his imprisonment by a Lamb, so the gods hunt them down and you, player, is the last one to die, however, death is The One Who Waits' domain and you finaly arrived to his embrace, his fated vasel, build a cult in his name and destroy the old faith, kill the bishops and set him free. AND BOY DO YOU DO THAT, but the game's name and the place holder name for your cult is anything to tell you it was a double betrayal :)

[Spoiler for the story and more rambling bellow + the hazbin rambling]

What I love about the story is how vague and at the same time not our protagonist is, the Lamb doesn't have a name, you can't name them, nor gender, but they sure have one set in stone fact, they FEAR death, they do not want to die permanently, it's absolutely evident the first seconds of the game, they cry in their execution and cry before the one who waits at the end and never again.

The game allows you to make some choices that have some consequences do/don't except the first choice "do you create a cult it my name? Yes/ABSOLUTELY", and I love how by contrast in the end, when you get to TOWW you can defy him and take the crown(the source of a gods power) or sacrifice yourself for his resurrection, it's an instant game over screen and a brutal one, I'm not sure if you can restart from were you last saved or if you start from the beggining, BUT DO YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN? You are forced to start the adventure like you or not THE LAMB WANTS TO LIVE and by the end they were a cult leader, they raised the dead, they killed Gods AND NOW YOU CAN KILL THEM, they let you chose death it's these little details that makes the story so interesting to me.

Also the fucking middle finger to the typical "defy profecy" trope, to defy this profecy YOU HAVE TO DIE, bc it goes "five, becomes four, becomes three, becomes two, becomes one, becomes nothing" it's profecising the end of the old faith and if you let TOWW live you break the profecy it's nothing history changing but I like this irony

The divine family drama is also juicy, you see the old faith has actualy 5 gods, the oldest sibling being Shamura the divinity of knowledge and war(and i still find facinating that ONLY shamura has in game be referenced with both domains) the one who received this profecy, then goes Kallamar the God of pestilence, Narinder the God of death, Heket the godess of famine and Leshy the God of chaos. Narinder was experimenting with rituals to create resurrection when this profecy was made by Shamura who, with the other 3(and I will read too much into dialogue Shamura made a play with words when revealing to us that TOWW was Narinder about hunger and contamination wich i interpret that Heket and Kallamar were actualy kinda into the idea of ressurection wich for me IS IN THEME WITH THEIR DOMAIN BUT NOT WAR NOR CHAOS) imprisoned Narinder in the afterlife.

But now thing get interesting, bc through the game you discover details with dialogue from other characters and with the God's themselves, like an obvious one is how, despite everything Narinder is still Shamuras favorite brother, TOWW has two black cats with him who I call diciples, bc in the game mechanic your most loyal followers can be ascended to diciples and be used to generate powers and have powerful demon forms to acompain you in crusades, Aym &Baal sons of a merchant cat you find in your crusades, she tells you that Shamura themselves came for the boys as a gift, and shamyra tells you that the didn't want Narinder to get lonely.

By the end of the first part, you can chose to kill or spare Narinder, if you spare him he BECOMES A FOLLOWER(the funniest thing was seeing every single gameplay marry him right after this) , and he gives you quests, five if i'm not mistaken, each thematically appropriated for each of his siblings domains, and the last one is him wanting to go on a missionary mission(the closest a follower can come to explore the world outside of your grasp). He has unique dialogue and voice(he sounds like he smokes 50 packs a day but then again if you noticed his desings he was literaly only a head....)

SPEAKING OF DESIGNS! Each bishop is a reference to the senses monkeys, see no evil(Leshy has lost his eyes fighting narinder, his eyes now are covered by a bandage), hear no evil(kallamar has bandages in his ears also lost to narinder), speak no evil(Heket also jas bandages in her throat from that fight), think no evil(Shamura's skull is open, their bandages and the fact that they also aren't totaly here, murmuring over and over the profecy, rarely being present at the moment) and do no evil(narinder's robes are blody and you can see his arms are skeletal, wich mean he was decapitated(also enforce by his second fase design)).

The achievements also tell details, kill each bishop and you see their sense, kill them taking zero damage and you get their opposite domain referenced(took no damage for leshy? Congratulation here is the Order archivement), and, with the dlc you can ressurect Aym&Baal and reunite them with their mother, you then gain the "damned tears of a merciful mother" and "blessed tears of vengeful father", wich can indicate lore/headcanons if you think a little bit of it.

With the dlc there's more lore, like how the five bishops probably killed many gods before setting down, how in the world seems to be in a stagnant autumn bc of you killing the bishops, how you can have the bishops as followers now, the only sad part is that they don't interact much with themselves besides generic follower talk, and that's were the fandom enters, there's also three siblings who give you weapons, cards(temporary powers/bonus for each run) and relics who have their own lore, and a new dlc enabling local multi-player is on the horizon(the art of the crowns reminds me of the relic giver who is mad with power and has a crown of her own)

So yeah the base is strong for you to expand the world with your headcanons and interactions, your lamb can be or not cruel, vengeful or merciful, a loyal follower or a usurper, the game allows you to do that, TOWW interacts with you each time you kill a bishop and some of their diciples(mini bosses), wich creates a good enough dynamic with him, after his defeat you see him change from vengeful God to chill cat(in the official art of the game it's hilarious what an 180 he does, canonicaly he doesn't give a shit if you kill him or not he's glad you are using his fucking ritual and proving him right, now he just chills out, who would have guessed he only needed to literaly touch grass)

Also the game has a really good acecibility options, if you only like the farming aspect you can activate the infinite heart and fervor, making the crusades easy and bosses a breeze(I used this bc my computer isn't a strong one so it glitches a lot and when i killed a boss i didn't want to restat bc it glitched or an atack that wasn't suposed to hit me now that the cutscene of defeat started did and i died), or if you don't like the farming part/it's getting difficult to maintain followers alive you can stop time during crusades, or all of the at once if you just want to get on with the story.

So yeah it's basically that, you can explore/expand so much with the so little given. You can also experience the main story through all cutscenes instead of gameplays, it's 1or2h long all of it i think, and slowly reading items descriptions in the wiki as your curiosity is picked if you can't play it like I did before a good sale hits steam :D

Now for HAZBIN

When we only had the pilot I really liked the world that could be build from the concept, we're heaven and hell based on Christianity existed and the show heavily leaned into the HELL of SIN aspect, the characters were... ok. I needed more to actualy fall in love with them, for the time they were good templates. Now we know we're they are going and I really like it.

The way these are the most human characters I had seen until that point, hazbin, for me, threats their characters truly as humans, they have HEAVY FLAWS and they won't be nice about it, like actual humans are, in the actual show they do a thing I love that is contrast in the same character.

See Alastor, in the pilot and in the beggining he's this mysterious guy who caries the main mysteries of the show, he's also the one no-one inside the world of the shows gives a shit about, "don't you wanna know were i was? No." Was the funniest shit I saw and I love how his ego gets beaten in the finale. Vox is a scary CEO, he will tell you to kill yourself to your face and not bat an eye if you actualy do it before of him, BUT HIS INTRODUCTION IS HIM BECOMING A MESS BC OF ALASTOR it "Invalidates"(read hides) his 5 seconds of glory as a competent villain archetype. Valentino's first apearence is through text that can be missed so it tecnicaly is actualy him being a whiny little bitch to vox about his boy toy, only for two episodes later we see him as the sexual abuser he is, AND HE IS SCARY AS FUCK, IT'S ABOUT THE CONTRAST OF HIM MAKING ME GO THROUGH "oh he's the fruity evil gay guy, angel's possesive boss/ex" to "oh fuck he's actualy really fucking scary actualy" to "THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THAT GENUINE SMILE IN THAT ENDING"(something something the monster to you can be the angel to other something something despite what a monster does to you they can still love it just wasn't you they love something something). Charlie is a goodie two shoes who's trying to redeem everybody bc she's just that nice and by the end I was happily surprised that she actualy had an arc, yes she's nice but she isn't naturaly empathetic, she's learning she isn't perfect and that's a good character. Adam is a damn good villain and his mere existence has implications that make the world so intriguing and if he continues alive in anyway shape of form or he just genuinely dies JUST MAKES THE WORLD MORE FASCINATING(if he lives is it through reincarnation or thorough a demon for?, if he dies, then were does he go? Another afterlife? Does it kill your whole existence and memories atached to you? Or only the emotional atchiment to yoru existence?)

It's the, "came here for the world building, stayed for the characters" meme, I also enjoy hazbin (but especialy helluva boss) bc it reminds me of Brazilian soap operas with all it's drama and messiness, I'M HERE FOR THE DRAMA AND IT IS BEING DELIVERED, also I love musicals but that's a bônus

Oh also, to hype up this app Smart Books even more (apparently its on app store as Parallel translations of books. Which. Yeah thats literally what it is and it's great:

So in this app, it shows book statistics. Which I'm always fascinated by. Here's my current stats for Guardian:

It shows how fast I'm reading in words per minute, how often I'm looking up words (caveat here that I keep clicking some words I know reading wise for pinyin pronunciation), shows my progress (4% is pathetic but also impressive considering I restarted today and the book is over 100 chapters). It shows how long I have read total and I'm happy to say the timer does NOT count when you minimize the app or switch to other apps with it still open, making the time read quite accurate (and really calling out my ADHD for taking a break from reading every 5-20 minutes ToT). And it shows estimated time to finish the book. Which is a feature I love in any reading app. And I have to say, personally? I am VERY motivated to see the estimated time go DOWN. So when I see it, it motivates me to kick up my reading speed, and remember fucking words so I don't slow down to look them up again. I like motivation, so I love the estimated reading time. And a fun fact about Guardian, the audiobook is around 55 hours if I remember correctly. So the closer I get to seeing that estimated remaining time go down to 55 hours, the closer I'm getting to spoken reading speed! I've already improved a lot as when I started reading it estimated 98 hours, now after a bit of reading its estimating 72 hours. Huge improvement. (And yes, if you load a Chinese novel in this app you'll be hit by the reality a fuck ton of Chinese web novels are from 20 hours for SHORT SHORT ones to 100+ hours to read... for a fast reader). For comparison, I'm also reading 坏小孩 which is only 124k words compared to Guardian at 304k words... and 坏孩子 is estimating ill finish reading it in 28 hours (I think it's audiobook is 20 hours so that's at spoken reading speed).

This fun word statistics area lists the words by order of how often they appear, so its great for if you want to pre-study vocabulary for a book. Or if you want to review common words in it. Or if you're curious how MANY fucking unique words are in a book. Fun fact, 坏小孩 has around 8000 unique words, compared to Guardian's 16,740 unique words. Despite this, I find 坏小孩 harder cause apparently of my lexicon of Chinese words I know how to read, it's mostly words priest uses. And the 坏小孩 author uses a word I am not familiar with about every 20 words ;-; to be fair, Guardian leans heavier into case investigatkom stories/supernatural which is the bulk of Other novels I've read too. Whereas 坏小孩 has many more every day words for card games, school, building descriptions, orphanages, which I do not read about as much.

Anyway my point is: this app is free and pretty dang useful if you're trying to read a language you're learning. It generates parallel texts!

Mulling over the news about the upcoming Patch 2 and trying to decide what I want to do here. I'm very, very close to the end of the game--just the dragon quest, Orpheus, and assaulting the Elder Brain left--and the news about the epilogues has me wondering if I should wait to finish until after Patch 2 drops, since IGN suggests it's coming out this week. (I mean, I played ME3 both with and without the Extended Edition DLC, and knowing what came first helped me much more deeply appreciate what came after, but...hm.)

I'm also trying to figure out what exactly is being suggested with this new Karlach content. The Steam post says it's a "more fleshed-out" ending that many have been asking for and that it's a "new optional ending" that's "fiery, poignant, and gives her the ending she deserves." The IGN article quotes one of the devs as saying "it will make a lot of people happy," which...what's going to make them happy other than an implication that her heart can be fixed permanently--but also, what's poignant about that? Hmm.

I don't really care about the Minthara stuff (sorry Larian), but I'm very interested in the expanded epilogues being suggested for the rest of the party. What Larian says on the Steam post, that they were sure fans wouldn't want a long epilogue in a game where you can complete so many quests in so many ways, is silly to me, but regardless, they seem to be addressing it, and I won't argue with more content letting you know how you've affected the world. It's also not clear to me if this patch is going to include new/expanded epilogues for everyone or if Karlach is just first. I've also read about the bugs with the LI post-epilogue scene not triggering unless you let Karlach die in the final battle, and I'm curious to see if this fixes that. Not that I'm exactly over-eager to get Astarion's at this point, ha--though whatever happens there will shape my post-game oneshot, for sure!

It doesn't really matter to me if they add the Upper City back in; I've been reading some of the original material (ads, trailers, and such), and frankly I think people made a lot more of a few throwaway lines than they should have, and I'm not sure that's Larian's fault. I don't even really want another area to explore in Act 3; what we have is plenty! I do think Cazador's palace's entrance is dumb, but meh. Not exactly a dealbreaker. So that they say here that they never meant the Upper City to be more than something to fight through in a climactic battle--fine, sure, good with me.

I am super glad to see performance in Act 3 especially is being addressed. I've had to restart the game for fps drops there more than any other place--it felt like almost every two hours sometimes. I found myself actively avoiding saving because it seemed like every time I saved, I dropped five fps. It'll be good to see that section run more smoothly.

In other news regarding my actual game progress, I finished the House of Hope the other day, and that special fight song at the end has been stuck in my head on loop ever since. I really, really loved that song & how they used it, and I'm going to go listen to it again now.

(I also got the Devil's Fee woman the Gloves of Hill Giant Strength to complete that quest, then stole them right back out of her back pocket and gave them to Karlach. For as generally altruistic as Tavish has become over the course of the game, some habits die too hard, and some items are just too shiny.)

The promise of a problematic ship got me in the door, and the emotional impact you spoke about it having shoved me the rest of the way into the room. okok I'm normal ahem... I'm really glad my silly ramblings caught your attention! I've discovered this podcast I think more than a year ago(?) and used to listen to it religiously every day while going to work. Most of the times I'd end up sitting on one of the benches inside a small church while listening to it before my shift, it was An Experience. I remember it captivating me immediately with the writing and characters and oh the story! And while I think that Jarthur as a queerplatonic relationship is so good and so valid, I cannot help myself from shipping them romantically because they are SO up my alley, ESPECIALLY after s2. Oh man. Season 2- from what I've seen is the least popular one but to me? Oh to me that's the best one and I'm warning you, get some tissues ready for that season finale. You'll need em.

They love each other they just dooo but they're oh so messy and faulty and fucked in the head and so... so human. I'm so pissed I lost my old blog forever because I had posted my reactions to all the seasons' endings and more shippy stuff, sigh... Well I'll make MORE now since I've officially restarted it-

Writing prompts day 70 (part 2) (yes it's a double day)

From this prompt list. If you’ve read this far, I’m not sure you need any explanation, but the short version is I hadn’t written any fiction since 2019, I set a goal to write at least 150 words/day in 2024, and this list was my way to restart. Also I abruptly decided on day 2 I would write an entire Tim/Damian story connecting all the prompts, because I am Good at Judging My Limits. /sarcasm Anyway, I finished the rough draft a while ago and am now unlocking the old entries as I edit.

Tim felt the ball was definitely in Damian's court now, but for the week after their hotel liaison it seemed Damian didn't agree. Tim texted him a couple of times, with spurious inquiries as to the progress of their case or something WE-related. Damian's replies were swift, efficient, and without follow-up.

It was tempting to think he'd read the situation incorrectly, but every time he started to lean toward thinking Damian just wasn't that into him after all, he remembered his timeline. No. He didn't make mistakes with that much evidence at hand. Damian just needed to be waited out.

Eight days after the conference room, Tim's phone vibrated just as he was about to turn in. It had been a shitty night, with rain pouring down the entire time, ending with a wrenched ankle when he'd slipped on black ice. He'd fallen asleep at his dining room table after patrol and woken up with food on his face, so he'd had to shower again before heading to bed.

"Who the hell else is up this late?" he muttered to himself, picking up the phone and opening messages.

Damian's name appeared at the top of the threads. With a triumphant smile, Tim tapped it.

Are you home?

yeah of course why Tim typed, thought better of it, and added capitalization, a period, and a question mark.

I am nearby and wanted to check on you.

Tim resisted the urge to pump his fist in the air like a cheesy eighties movie and replied, You're more than welcome.

About two minutes later, Damian walked through the door Tim had left open for him, looking like a fashion spread in Vanity Fair. (And Tim would've known—they'd both posed for the inside front fold of the issue titled "The New Nepo.")

"Hey," Tim breathed out, trying and failing to keep a dopey grin off his face. He was too tired to make a concerted effort.

"Hello." Damian kicked off his shoes and strode to the couch where Tim waited. "How's the ankle? Father told me you wrenched it while you were out."

"It's fine, just a little sore. Do you want tea? It's freezing tonight." Tim rose to his feet and winced involuntarily at the sharp stab of pain radiating up his shin.

Damian's eyes narrowed. "That's not 'a little sore.' And you look exhausted. Is that . . . is that a piece of a Crocky Crunch nugget in your hair?"

"Dammit." Tim watched as Damian plucked the offending food from the hair just above his ear. "I must've missed it when I washed up."

"You're a disaster, Drake." The reprimand lost some of its impact when Damian pressed his palm to Tim's cheek, then shifted to his forehead. "And you have a fever. I insist that you go to bed immediately."

Tim didn't move, just kept looking up at him, and Damian might actually have had a point about the fever because he couldn't stop smiling. "Fuck, you're so hot when you're bossy."

Damian actually looked taken aback at that. "Are you trying to be funny? I don't find it amusing that someone without a spleen might be coming down with an infection." His hand moved from Tim's forehead to the side of his neck, gently squeezing the sensitive skin where it met his shoulder.

Tim lowered his head to kiss Damian's wrist. "You would if you still hated me. I'm glad you don't."

"I don't waste energy on hating the merely annoying." Damian pulled him closer. "Lean on me so we can get to your bedroom without making that ankle worse."

Tim obediently walk-hopped into his bedroom and climbed into the bed once Damian drew the covers back for him. "Did you really only come out to check on me?"

Damian didn't answer at first, but Tim had learned his lesson by now. He waited, covers pulled up to his chin, counting the beard hairs where they shadowed Damian's cheekbones and jawline. Bruce often needed to shave twice a day. It looked like Damian was soon to be in the same boat. Tim really wanted to feel the stubble against his teeth again.

Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Damian picked up Tim's hand where it lay on the duvet and played with his fingers. "I was out with Jon again. I just happened to be coming back through the city on my way to Bristol when I spoke to Father."

Tim frowned. "Why have you been hanging out with Jon so much lately?"

Damian shrugged, an elegant lift of his shoulders. "He is always happy to see me. Not many are. And the Manor is . . . the Manor is so empty, now that it's just me and Father."

Tim captured Damian's fingertips with his own and lifted them to his lips. "If you come here, I'll be happy to see you," he said into the warm skin. "I'm happy now."

A faint smile graced Damian's lips as he watched his fingers press to Tim's mouth. "I'm not sorry I stopped by."

"Good. Do it more." Tim kissed his knuckles.

"I feel that I owe you, in any case." At Tim's look of confusion, Damian clarified, "In the conference room, you did not—I failed to—"

"Dami, no." Tim pulled Damian's hand so he could press it to his chest. "I wanted things to go that way. You didn't fail at all."

Damian nodded, eyes downcast. "If you say so."

"Hey." Once he'd regained Damian's eye contact, Tim smiled again. "That doesn't mean I don't want to come with you next time."

"Next time?" Damian echoed, probably aiming for "incredulous" with his tone but only succeeding in sounding enthusiastic.

With a tug to his arm, Tim pulled him close enough that he could kiss Damian's forehead, right on the furrow between his brows. "Yeah, next time, if you're up for that.”

“I'm not opposed, but I am . . .” Damian seemed to be struggling for the correct term. He decided on, “Skeptical.”

Tim nodded. “What if I told you I don't think I've ever wanted someone more? Would that make it more believable?"

Damian had been carefully holding himself apart from Tim except where their hands touched, but at this, he let himself lean into him, tucking his face into Tim's neck as he wrapped strong arms around Tim's waist. "I would very much like to believe it."

"Good." Tim kissed the top of his head and held him close. "I'll do my best to help with that, then."

Damian nodded, still hiding his expression against Tim's neck. "May I stay here tonight? I'm tired and I don't want to drive out to the Manor this late."

Damian Wayne, asking for something he wanted from Tim Drake? Tim resisted the urge to reach for his journal and instead said, "Yeah, of course. I'd love to have you."

What you said about Yulia makes so much sense!! "She'd act like the perfect Victorian era husband" I love it. Tbh at times I think I'm missing something essential about her by only knowing her P2 self because I've never gotten especially butch vibes from her; yeah maybe in comparison to many of the other women in town, but not as much as the fandom seemed to regard her as. I know that some people were dissatisfied with the redesign for that reason, so I know P1 will be another story. And you're right of course, it's important to consider what was "normal" for the time period too.

About the toxic relationship, my first reaction was Noooooo not the dishes 😱😱 But I think you're right about that too, unfortunately, haha.

I think I'm something of a P1 Haruspex Day 1 expert by now ;) Noo I'm joking, I bet there's a lot I'm still missing, but I've begun Day 1 three times now and maybe the third time's the charm. I just didn't use my time wisely the first time, and on the second I didn't do the Isidor's house side quest. At least Victor and Yulia's voice acting seems unobjectionable.

The wonkiness is starting to grow on me and the walking speed isn't as bad as I expected. It's more like a power walk sort of. I was just reminded of the old Pokemon games before the running shoes existed :o

As time goes on I wonder if I'll ultimately view P1 and P2 as two separate games or if I'll start blending them together, choosing what I like best from each one. 🤔

I get it, I totally didn't get her being described as butch at all while playing P2. You'll meet her in the bachelor P1 route, and it will click eventually. She dresses and behaves more similarly to Daniil than to other women, and it's that era's equivalent to butch.

I like her P2 design, I just wish they kept her pixie cut instead of giving her a bun.

Pfjwojfjs me and you are the world leading experts on restarting the Haruspex day one. It's really The loaded everything bagel out of all the other routes, oh and don't worry!

The days somehow get even shorter + more loaded the more you progress. No rest for the wicked... or Menkhus it seems.

At one point I was literally restarting a whole day because I was a few minutes off from midnight in some bullshit quests, you'll absolutely hate Oyun this time around. No more mister pathetic soggy old cat, he is a cunt through and through and will make you almost tear your hair out from the debilitating quests he has.

But I'm happy you're enjoying it!! It's so beautiful and very fun. About the trashcans, there are actually more than P2, but they aren't conventional places alongside the streets this time around.

They're scattered through the town. Sometimes, they're grey trashcans that blend in with the gravel streets. Sometimes, they're large bins that blend in with the throw up colored streets.

A lot of times, they're wedged in between buildings or thrown into corners. You have to go out of your way to check the bins.

Maria Fielding in Visual Novels

A 💘 will indicate who in the game is Maria's love interest.

Restart Heart:

Backstory Changes: Scrap her whole family story, she is Maria Dust, adopted as a child, and has a little sister, Sarah Dust. Also, the whole Kenneth debacle happened.

It should be noted I'm basing this off the game content that has been released and a few posts of lore from the official blog. There is a lot I do not know about these characters, and I can change this post accordingly as I learn more!

(Note: there is no set love interest 💘 for Maria in this universe yet because I want to see how this story progresses and learn more about the characters!)

Relationships:

EZRA: "They're. So. Cool." Maria likes Ezra, they're always considerate and friendly with her. But Maria also finds him very intimidating because he's just so confident and composed all the time. Maria isn't insecure, but she can be dorky and nervous, so she wouldn't say she's on Ezra's level of cool. She would be stunned if she learned they wanted to date her.

BLAIRE: "Blushing? Who's blushing? Not me." Maria has a little crush on Blaire but hides it well. What can she say, she appreciates outgoing people and is a sucker for beautiful women. Maria sincerely likes Blaire a lot platonically as well, and is more than happy with being friends, but if she has the chance, she's shooting that shot. She just needs to work up the nerve.

SAMMY: "We get along!" Maria likes Sammy a lot! They don't talk often, but she loves history so they like to discuss their common interests whenever they see them. Sammy is certainly someone Maria would like to be friends with.

CHRIS: "My buddy!" Maria likes to spend time with him! They talk about sports, movies, and their day-to-day lives, and they live together well, but they're not particularly close. If he asked her out, she'd consider it. If Maria learned about his "secrets," the fight will be enormous. Maria can get angry when a boundary is crossed.

STEPH: ".....It's Steph." They've been best friends since they were kids. But when Maria began dating Kenneth towards the beginning of college, they had steadily less contact, and basically lost it completely when Kenneth proposed. Maria constantly reached out to Steph during the engagement to no avail. Now that it's off and Steph is suddenly back, Maria is hesitant, not wanting to push them away but also not really comfortable. She would still do anything for them, and she still wants them around, she just doesn't know how to resolve this discomfort about their friendship.

BESS: "My boss!" Maria greatly admires and respects Bess, and looks up to her a bit. They are friends!

KENNETH: "He's dead to me." They were friends growing up, and dated throughout college. The proposal was sudden and Maria felt pressured, so she agreed and focused all her energy on planning the wedding. She punched him in the face when they broke up. Maria honestly doesn't know if she loved him or not, now that she has time to think things over. She's... angry everything she worked for fell apart, and angry that he betrayed her after being in her life for so long. But she's not sad that she won't spend her life with Kenneth. Either way, she never wants to never see him again.

SARAH: "If it had been anyone else-- anyone else, Sarah, I would've been there for you." Maria adored Sarah growing up. But then their parents tried to pit them against each other. Maria refuses to compete with Sarah because she can't understand the reason to. Maria doesn't want to be better than her. But she also refuses to be treated as worse. The sisters have been distant most of their lives. Maria is devastated when she learns Sarah is pregnant with Kenneth's baby. She's much more hurt by Sarah's actions than Kenneth's, because it feels like a direct and purposeful attack. It would take a lot for Maria to consider forgiving her and being in her life.

I felt this needed to be sent as an ask. I know it's one of the hardest things to do (writing when your motivation is weighing) but you have to try your best NOT to listen to them (those who keep asking for updates with no consideration of what it's like for the author). Pressure ain't doing nothing but motivating negativity. I know the guilt, I've been there. At the end of the day I gave what I could and the fic ended up being discontinued a month ago. I permanently quit writing because I felt it was so overwhelming and stressful despite being something I absolutely love doing, I just couldn't take knowing people waited for my updates, I was disappointing them and that disappointed me. Talk about depression. Writers depression is very real. So eventually I unpublished my wattpad fics, deleted all my Tumblr fics, and stayed a silent reader, I wrote short poems or small works here and there for my private instagram, just whenever I felt like it. I honestly thought it was permanent. Until a friend of mine started writing which sparked my interest in it again. So I restarted my blog a couple days ago. Gave thought to what it was I wanna write and how I want this blog to be different. Atm I'm barely writing, I started 3 fics last week yet they remain in my drafts untouched with no further progress. But I can honestly say the nonchalance and freedom I have is quite nice, I try to write here and again. Or even if a single sentence or dialogue comes to mind I note it down, that gave life to another sentence and another and another until I put it together and it formed about a decent paragraph.. I'M RAMBLING. I lost track of what I was supposed to say. I don't even know the main point of this story. Forgive me. But seriously, the best advice I can give is to unburden yourself before you drown. Literally. Write what you want when you can, your wips, don't delete them!! I promise you some time later you'll definitely be inspired for them again. And when u do you'll be able to literally write more for it!! I have an idea from 2 yrs ago and it's pretty decent, with some editing it could be even better. So please don't delete them 😭😭 and don't let people push you to update. You can if you can and You can't if you can't!!! I'm here if you need any help 🙏🏻 I noticed that talking about your writing with someone who reciprocates your energy can ignite a full on passionate conversation that will lead to creating quality work!! Like new ideas or even roots to go for old works.. It's a good way to keep the motivation flowing when you're running thin 🤍🤍🤍

this is honestly the sweetest piece of advice soeone ever gave me. its so detailed and relatable too because i used to be a wattpad writer back in 2021 and then ppl kept on asking for update update update and it was so stressful so I just logged out of the account and to this day i havent logged back in 😭😭

as someone who used to be a silent reader i understand the frustration of needing an update. dont get me wrong i understand. i used to feel that exact way because fics were my only source of happiness at one point in my life when everything was shitty. but now im actually writing them, i know why some writers dont want to update so fast because its so much pressure when theres 5-6 ppl in ur inbox asking for update update update

ik how hard it is to finish a story but also how desperate it can get for the readers waiting for said update. which is the reason im constantly trying to keep writing but now i feel like i just cant. im such a perfectionist i dont post anything i dont feel is my best but rn i feel like none of my works are and its making me slack a lot and i feel like if i dont stop feeling this way then i might stop writing as a whole because its making me frustrated

writing genuinely makes me happy bc i feel like its an escape from reality (which i desperately need bc i hate my life) but i cant write good enough which is making me annoyed because i need that reality escape sooooo bad

and the reason i asked yesterday which fics of mine were peoples favourites, most of them were the series that i had deleted from my page because i reread them and hated it so bad. now im rewriting it but with this lack of motivation its one of the hardest things ive had to do in a while

A few of you asked for progress updates on the crochet experiment, so here we are!

Thoughts on crocheting lace for the first time:

Glad I was forced to get a set of crochet needles, if I got to pick just one I think I accidentally would have gone too small.

Daiso has nice, cheap, lace yarn in a nice small bundle. Perfect for "idk if I'll keep up this hobby".

The upside of getting crochet needles the same day I got the yarn is that I was able to capitalize on my energy and my Sunday by getting started. The downside of not waiting for a tatting shuttle is that... I'm not sure I want to switch to a shuttle after I just bought a set of like 5 crochet needles. So maybe I'll wait until I'm bored of the crochet needles, if such a thing occurs?

My eyes and knuckles are confused by this sudden change in muscle usage. I feel like an old woman with my mildly sore knuckles and mildly irritated eyes. I work with computers, so I was excited to try a hobby that doesn't involve staring at a screen. But is it that much better if I'm staring even closer?

Oof, I'm terrible at it so far. Below is a pic from day 1. White is the YouTube video screenshot and navy blue is mine. You see how in the center of the white one there's a ring of little columns and then 2 layers up there's another ring of columns? That's (in theory) what I've achieved in the blue image. But! I'm not restarting anymore: done is better than perfect. And for a first project, it's not bad. It's in a circle shape, mostly.

Torn on my decision to start with a doily rather than straight lace. What I'm doing is less repetitive which means it's not boring (good) but I get less time to perfect each technique (bad). Also if one ring has a mistake in it, the next layer is built on that mistake (mixed). If it was straight lace, if I made a mistake it would look very obviously like a mistake, assuming I fixed it going forward. But I would get to start fresh each time. But! The doily shape is a little more usable (coaster)... Idk what I'd do with a straight strip of lace.

All that to say, once I finish this tragic coaster, maybe I'll try a straight lace strip next? If I don't try this again.

My fake!eureka moment at the end of day one/before starting to crochet in day 2 is: everything is secretly a chain stitch from a different angle. I noticed that every time I have to ladder up to the next layer, I do a bunch of chain stitches to fake whatever the end of the layer will connect to. Which suggests that all the dc-ing I'm doing through the rest of the layer will look exactly like my chain stitch by the end. I assume I'm actually wrong about this in general, but it at least seems true for this doily pattern. Maybe only true for the dc?

Today was day 2 and amusingly I started layer 5 and was like "Ohhh I think I finally understand what I did wrong in some of the previous layers. Great, I think I've got the hang of it, this is going to start looking a lot better" and then proceeded to make the most HORRIFIC layer. So now I've learned that consistent thread tension probably matters? Not that I know how to resolve that yet. Also, counting dc stitches is the worst. Chain stitches are short enough that they can sit in your bioRAM. By the time you finish one dc, you can't remember if it's your first or second one. So that probably didn't help. (Also no, I don't know what dc stands for. I think maybe double crochet? But I know it as the 1-in-pull-4to2-3to1). We'll see how layer 6 goes tomorrow! I'm optimistic it'll be better than layer 5 🤞
