how would gideon act around soos and wendy, and robbie by extension?

my baby is still a manipulative, coniving little freak, so he originally likes soos because it's a little kid he can boss around. at some point though, he does get pretty attached. he starts calling soos stan's son as a way to egg on his uncle, but he really does see soos as a lovable younger cousin.

he thinks wendy's a riot. i like the headcanon that stan babysat for the corduroys when wendy was younger, so gideon's gotten pretty used to her over the years. he was the one who showed her how to get to the roof and a bunch of other ways to be rebellious around the shack.

i don't think he'd like robbie very much at first just because gideon has enough sass for the men of the shack and he just didn't click well with robbie. he doesn't tell wendy to stop dating him or anything because he's not her dad, but he does give her a shoulder to cry on/complain to after boyz crazy. all in all, not his business, but he'll help her clean up because she's still a fun kid.

gnomes in episode 1 (+ everything up to ep4)

while i do love my boy and want to plaster him everywhere i possibly can, he'd get introduced in 'the hand that rocks the mabel' like he is in canon, only in a different way. instead of being a freak, he's a monster-of-the-week that drives dipper crazy while mabel's entranced by his vaguely-gay aura. there's no amulet to break so the episode would just end with dipper finding out that this telekinetic guy that's been tormenting him for days is just his cousin that's been out of town for a bit.

pacifica debut / 'double dipper'

i think this episode would be the first time the twins would see stan and gideon get along. like gideon would make stan a cup of coffee or run errands for him, just something simple and nice as a birthday gift even if stan doesn't want people to know that it's his birthday.

he would either love or hate pacifica, and i'm thinking it's more of a "he loves to hate her" situation. stan would set him up as a bouncer to his little party (🐦 <- buff adult gideon truther) and gideon would just sort of watch everything go down but not really be plot-relevant.

i think he'd be nicer to her after the kids get friendlier with her, but that's a long way off.

fiddleford and the society of the blind eye

he doesn't remember fiddleford as fiddleford that well, but he has a soft spot for old man mcgucket after he reads back through the first two journals. when fiddleford digs through their trash or shouts in his face on the street, gideon'll just walk him back to the junkyard and maybe bring over some food the next day. he doesn't know if the man his father loves so much is in there anymore, but he'll keep tending to him just incase.

he has sort of a one-sided discomfort around tate just because.. well, he can read. the mcguckets are mentioned very briefly in journal 2 (headcanon) so he can put the pieces together and realize that tate's going through something as bad as he is. only difference is that fiddleford's going crazy right in front of him, instead of being dead or insane in space somewhere.

shifty

gideon would've interacted very briefly with shifty, but not enough to really impact him. when gideon gets a hold of journal 3, he can see his own scribbles of the scientists, shifty, and himself and feel a sense of overwhelming sadness that he was the only "experiment" that got to be normal. my boy can fit a little empathy in him, however short-lived.

the mystery shack

for most of the year, gideon probably wouldn't even be in gravity falls. i like making older gids a nomad, sue me! it's fun!

but when the tourist season rolls in, he drives back up to help his uncle. when he was little, he was "li'l mystery" and stan paraded him around as his ""son."" (gids is only a little resentful for it. he was a really cute baby, after all.)

his job is mostly managerial. help a little in the gift shop, schedule new orders, make sure soos knows his tasks for the day, all that. in rare moments, he'll stop stan and fix his tie or lapels with a snippy comment before stomping off to chat with wendy and make sure no one's hassling her.

it's pretty much the same after the kids show up, only now he's also around to make sure they don't get themselves killed. just because he's also an anomaly doesn't mean he doesn't know how dangerous it can be out in the woods, so he keeps an eye on 'em. (probably by making them wear little spy pins like in canon)

dreamscaperers / bill

i'm really stuck on bill, i'll be honest.

i think it would be fun to have gideon be a bit of a villain, meddling with forces he doesn't quite understand because he thinks it'll help him get ford back, but i've been mulling it over for a bit and just can't make a version of gideon and bill's deal that would:

make sense in the au.

end up in the same situation of getting into stan's mindscape.

so i gave up on that and decided that gideon knows who bill is (hard not to when your dad's house is practically an altar to the guy) and hates the guy.

he still has scars from when bill used ford's body to terrorize him as a toddler. stan knows about bill vaguely, but just that he's a demon that tortured his brother and nephew and none of the specifics because gideon was too young to remember a lot of it.

when gideon catches wind of mabel and dipper's involvement with bill, he wouldn't outright confront them, but he'd get a little more watchful of where they're going and what they're doing. he'd tell stan, and they'd both work that much harder on the portal because if they can get ford back, he'll be able to stop it because he has to. no matter how old gideon gets, that's still his dad, and to stan, that's still his older brother (even if it's only by a bit), and he's invincible in their eyes.

I like to make jokes about shen qingqiu seeing binghe hugging his corpse and deciding to fuck that man to qi deviation, but when I think about the emotions communicated in that moment it's so much more. shen qingqiu just got insight into a moment he wasn't around for, when binghe was grieving him so terribly, when binghe still didn't have answers for sqq's actions, when he kept reenacting a moment of nonsexual physical intimacy that left such a profound effect on his psyche

and shen qingqiu obviously can't change what happened in the past, but what he can do upon waking up is kiss binghe, press his hand to his beating heart, affirm (out loud!! a big deal for shen qingqiu!!!) that he wants him -- communicating with his actions that "I was gone then, but I'm here now, I'm alive, I won't be leaving, I love you and want you even when it hurts"

I think if I ever met a system/anyone with DID, OSDD, etc I would never actually be able to tell… I have really bad memory for details about people so I wouldn’t really notice many if any discrepancies. I also can’t recognize personalities as anything concrete (unless it’s super obvious), two totally different alters could be out on the same day and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Worst I’d interpret would be a mood swing.

Especially since most systems’ alters mask as the host- some r better than others but usually the ones worse at masking aren’t out very often (to my knowledge)

bonerattle arena fucks severely. i was not expecting it to rival my love for jammin' salmon junction, but wow. this map feels like a love letter to people who love and enjoy salmon run. (i ended up playing the rotation for around 3.5 hours... which you can watch here if you like!)

the map's circular shape on normal/high tide effectively makes the spawns from this map come from every angle. it's a test of awareness and movement skill- and the walls + inkrails really, really make rotating around the map feel so fluid and easy.

and low tide's hexagonal two-ring design is so fascinating too! instead of testing movement, it tests your team's ability to make judgment calls on luring and making sure you don't overwhelm basket from luring too much.

i also feel that every special in salmon feels really rewarding to use on this map- even reefslider! i've played enough to see that most specials bring so much utility and value, and i just love that no special feels like it's "useless" on this map.

there's also a few flyfish tech on this map that echoes the bomb tricks on jammin' salmon junction and spawning grounds (and i guess gone fission too), it feels really intuitive on what spots can pop two baskets at once (it's the grates and the rails) and i just? feel really rewarded for playing as much salmon as i do.

i feel that the map's inclusion of the ink rail mechanic evokes a lot of similar vibes to ruins of ark polaris- and i really liked that! there's definitely some things i want to fine tune and understand better about them, but they're really fun.

i still need to see how other weapons feel on this map, but it feels like both mobile and stationary weapons can exceed here- there's nice perches for long range weapons, lots of walls for quick weapons to use to escape situations... it's so swag...! a very good final map, i think!

U don’t understand. He’s a Nindroid. He has a soul. He has ice powers. He’s TRAUMATISED. He does not value his own life. He is borderline suicidal. He is SOFT. And he loves people too much. Because even if people cared no one ever thought he was not okay, and so Zane never thought he was not okay so he’s lived his life for probably a hundred years or so by now, always moving forward and never addressing his problems or traumas or demons, which is DESTROYING HIM, from the inside out. He has absolutely NO SELF WORTH. His entire existence is based around his role as a ninja, he has been trained from when he was a “teenager” that his worth is based around his ability to preform, that the most important thing is to save lives and the world and stuff. Which it is but like he’s never been allowed to do anything else and on the rare occasions he and his friends relax they immediately get scolded and told to keep fighting. He’s never had a sick day. He literally sacrificed himself to save the world. He rebuilt himself, and immediately the next opportunity he gets, he sacrifices himself again, and he tries to do that over and over and over again because that’s his job he states that he is expendable! He says that multiple times. He always volunteers to take the hits because his view on his humanity his person hood is so WARPED, that he believes he has less value than a human. That he is a TOOL. To be used by those around him because people sure, they’ve treated him with kindness on many levels but it’s kind of shallow when they never care enough to prevent him from getting hurt, they use him, he almost dies, they fix him and then put him back into the line of fire. His entire worldview is based on fighting.

The only person. Who has ever asked if he is okay and treated him like a human being. Is a STUPID GOSH I LOVE HIM BUT JES SO DUMB. I dont think the fandom talks about it but i really love that every single piece of sky clothing is embroidered, because unless skyloft has embroidery machines thats all hand done. Which means either someone he knows makes a lot of them and gives them out freely (i give most of my projects to friends and family) or he would have paid someone for it, which means that either someone on skyloft lives of decorating clothing (and likely other fabrics) or someone just uses it to get some extra money (both are amazing since in the modern day people dont want to pay for handcrafted works what its actually worth)

premise: as monster food does not spoil, this speculation is based on how i think they'd treat human food in the post pacifist ending

frisk. trash burger. enough said. (also i hc that they grew up on the streets, so... not a lot of chances to be picky with your food.)

sans. second most likely. there's milk in the fridge bought specifically for him to drink out of the carton whenever frisk's or papyrus' friends come to visit, like a stereotypical disney channel older brother (he loves being annoying on purpose). it's been there for a month. he's still not done with it. it's probably rancid. enjoyer of food and lover of even shittier food. mr worst burger on the menu. he is ESPECIALLY gross about food and he is gross about it on purpose, he will peel an apple for papyrus and then take a bite out of it before cutting him a slice. and then call him a wuss when he acts disgusted. ("stop being a baby bones, we have the same germs anyway" "NO WE DON'T. *YOU* HAVE GERMS! AND I DON'T WANT ANY OF THEM!!" "why? they're pedigreed" "OUGH!?!!"). he mostly uses it as a chance to make a gag (or a lack of gagging, lol) but his strong stomach did also come in handy in the early days of papyrus' interest in cooking

mettaton, of sequins-and-glue hamburgers fame. he's technically tied for 2nd place with sans, but i put him in third because i feel like sans does it on purpose, for mettaton it's more like... a side effect of starting life off as a ghost. few people question it since he's a robot now.

alphys. she doesn't go out of her way to do it, but she buys her snacks in industrial pallet-fuls to reduce social interactions to a minimum, so by the time she reaches the last 3 or 4 packets of blue takis, they're well past their expiration date. not that it stops her. now, this wouldn't happen on the surface because she gets better and has a solid support system, but if monster food could spoil back when she was going Through it with the amalgamates, i feel like she'd either be too depressed or tired to care and eat it, or she'd tumble into a "g-god. you can't even take care of your own f-food. is there anything you can't fuck up" self-deprecation spiral and lose her appetite altogether

flowey. did it to see what would happen. nothing did. never did it again. tbh I just don't think he eats much of anything, spoiled or not.

undyne. getting into the "wouldn't eat spoiled food" tier. she actually thinks it's really gross but papyrus tricks her into doing it by challenging her machismo. she gets SO sick from it. they do this aprox 3 times a month. rinse and repeat

asgore. he's a gardener, and i can see him working in a community garden on the surface, so he'd have access to a lot of fresh produce, for both himself and to give away. however, if some of it were to go bad, he'd probably cut off the affected bit and eat the rest so it doesn't go to waste.

toriel. she is SUPER careful about expiration dates and mold and checks to make sure all she owns is still safe to eat almost weekly. this level of care, however, is mostly meant for other people, not herself, but she would really rather not eat anything that's gone bad. same reasoning as alphys', IF monster food could spoil when she was still in the RUINs, i could technically see her biting the bullet, if only because 1) she was also heavily depressed and struggling to take care of herself, though i think she might sooner skip out on the meal altogether, rather than eat something spoiled, and 2) the awkward stares from the other monsters in the RUINs supermarket might not be something she's willing to deal with on any given day.

papyrus. he would NOT. no way. master of cleaning, germophobe extraordinaire papyrus (well, not really, but he plays the part). if toriel is meticulous, papyrus is obsessive. there better not be a SINGLE spot on his food. and no lines or plaid patterns either!! he WILL wash it untill it goes away. with soap probably. canonically a picky eater to begin with (his picks are just weird as balls). can should and WILL get on sans' ass about his unhealthy eating habits, and that includes eating food that's gone bad.

After that Steve is at the Curtis's even more and Soda even goes over to the Randle's a couple times cause when Steve is feeling really horrible he calls him up

Their ears are ringing, breath coming in short pants. They can feel their hair sticking to their forehead with sweat. They stare up at the ceiling, head completely devoid of thoughts as they slowly come back down. They barely even register Mountain’s large hands rubbing up and down their thighs. 

“You with me love bug?” He asks in between his own shallow breaths. 

They nod, eyes still glazed over as they slowly come back into their body. 

Mountain chuckles, “Good. How are you feeling?” 

Phantom has no idea how to answer that question. They hurt, but deliciously so. They feel like they’re floating, like they’re watching the scene play out in third person. Part of them wants to beg for another round and the other says they’re already spent. They also feel like they were just split in fucking two. Phantom truly did not understand why Mountain was so hesitant when they came to him asking him to be their first Topside. They get it now. Fuck do they get it. 

“M feeling…full.” It’s the only word that comes to mind. 

Mountain smiles and kisses in between their horns “I didn’t hurt you did I?” 

Phantom shakes their head and a deep purr rumbles through Mountain’s chest. He was surprised when they asked him of all ghouls to be the one to break them in. He honestly figured Swiss had already gotten to the little bug with how often they show up at breakfast together. Oh but when those lavender eyes looked up at him with blown out pupils and a desperate little plea fell from their lips Mountain couldn’t resist. He couldn’t lie, the knowledge that he was the first one to get his hands on their little bug only sweetened the deal. 

Mountain looks down at them, really taking in their appearance for the first time since the haze of lust has subsided. Their eyes are closed, little chest rising and falling steadily. Not asleep, but probably inching closer and closer to it. Their neck and chest are littered with deep purple marks. Mountain almost feels bad for how prominent some of his fang indents are. He bends to press kisses to the worst of them, a silent apology. Phantom squirms and giggles, chuffing with each soft press of Mountain’s lips. 

“Mounty stop, stop. It tickles.” They try to faux shove him away. 

He smiles against their skin, kissing them one more time before sitting up. He shifts forward, pressing a kiss to the tip of their nose before tilting his head to press their lips together. It’s nice for about five seconds before Mountain furrows his brow and pulls away. He looks down between them and grimaces at the mess that got smeared around. Phantom’s cum now coats both of their stomachs and it has gotten unpleasantly cold. 

“Okay bug let’s get you cleaned up.” Mountain carefully pulls out of them, soothing a hand down their thigh. 

Phantom whines at the loss, “I don’t wanna move ever again.”

Their head shoots up to look at him. They look at him like a kicked puppy and Mountain’s heart throbs. He lifts one of their hands, pressing a kiss to the knuckles.

Phantom watches him go into the bathroom, ears twitching with each click from his hooves against the floor. They shift around while they wait for him to come back, fixing the pillows to be able to lay more comfortably. There’s a pleasant ache that radiates through their whole body. Their limbs still don’t quite feel like their own, heavy and full of static. All they can think about is how good they’ll sleep tonight as they idly trace over the teeth marks on their collarbone. 

Mountain returns from the bathroom with a washcloth in hand. Phantom chirps when he sits on the side of the bed, tail thumping happily against the mattress. Mountain huffs a laugh before gently wiping their skin off. He goes slow, running the warm cloth in gentle little circles. Phantom chuffs the entire time, happy as long as Mountain keeps touching them. When he’s satisfied that Phantom is no longer a sticky mess he tosses the cloth into his laundry basket before sliding back into bed. Phantom immediately clings to him, burying their nose into his neck to inhale his herbaceous scent. Mountain chuckles, wrapping his arms around the little bug and pulling them onto his chest. He runs his hands up and back their back, fingers tracing the raised lines of their lichtenberg figure scars. 

He can feel Phantom growing heavier by the second, muscles relaxing as they get closer and closer to sleep. He grabs his phone off the nightstand, scrolling through his messages until he finds the one he’s looking for. He sends a quick text before placing it face down once more. A moment later he gets a reply, the ping making his ear twitch. He doesn’t check it though, he’s content to close his eyes and breathe in Phantom’s frozen apple scent. 

He tries not to, but his mind ends up wandering. He can’t help but think about how Phantom looked just a few months ago when they were first pulled from the Pits. Skinny and gaunt, ribs and vertebrae clearly visible under their skin. They hadn’t spoken more than a few words for the first week, too anxious to be caught making a sound. They had hid away in their room, only letting Aurora in until rehearsals finally began. Even when they did start to come around they were still wary around Mountain. He understood, a ghoul his size is something to be afraid of. 

Mountain never would have guessed he’d be here now, Phantom half asleep and drooling into his fur. He was sure the little bug wouldn’t be comfortable with him until well into the tour. He was pleasantly surprised the day they found him in the greenhouse, curious about the brightly colored flowers. Who knew that was the spark that was needed to turn the mumbly little quintessence ghoul into someone as boisterous as Swiss? 

He’s pulled from his thoughts with a knock to his door. 

“Haven’t heard a noise in like twenty minutes, is my bug still alive?” Swiss calls as he steps into the room. 

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. 

Mountain smiles, motioning for him to keep it down. It’s too late though, Phantom is sitting up and rubbing at their eyes. They smack their lips a few times after they yawn. 

“Swiss? What are you doing here?” They mumble sleepily.  

“We’re throwing a party bug. Gotta celebrate, it's not everyday your cherry gets popped by the big green giant.” Swiss laughs, walking over to set the plates of food in his hands onto the nightstand. 

Phantom furrows their brow and looks at Mountain, “Sarcasm?” 

“Sarcasm.” Mountain nods. 

Swiss grins and bends to kiss in between their horns, “I was instructed to bring dinner. Something about someone never wanting to move again.” 

Phantom suddenly perks up at the mention of food. Their nose twitches as they finally notice the two plates. They make grabby hands at Swiss, tail wagging hard enough to smack Mountain in the leg. 

“You’re lucky you’re adorable.” Swiss hands them the plate, ruffing their hair once his hands are free. 

They crawl off of Mountain, sitting with their back against the pillows as they dig in. They pop the dumplings into their mouth at an almost alarming rate, devouring it like they’ve never eaten. Mountain pats them hard on the back when they inevitably choke. 

“Please remember to breathe,” Mountain says in between his own bites. 

While they eat Swiss digs through Mountain’s closet, mumbling his disapproval of each item he touches. When he finally finds what he’s looking for he turns around, fully intending to throw the hoodie at Phantom. Instead he stops in his tracks, completely frozen by the sight before him. Phantom is leaning over Mountain, reaching to place his empty plate back on the nightstand. The position gives Swiss a full view of their ass and he gets light headed with how quickly the blood rushes to his dick. 

He stalks over to the bed, gripping Phantom’s tail when he’s close enough. He yanks it upwards pulling a surprised gasp from them. 

“Swiss? What—“ 

“Phantom. Baby. You’re fucking gaping.” He can’t take his eyes off of the way their hole is still wide open despite being completely empty. 

“Could probably fit inside you right now.” Swiss reaches forward. 

He’s stopped by a low growl coming from Mountain. He looks up, meeting his emerald eyes. He can see the warning in the way they darken. Swiss grins, fangs flashing in the dim light of the setting sun. He’s never been one to back down from a challenge.

Dr. Asal Reghabi's second in-person appearance: unsevered Mark's brain. what WILL she do next. how long did she work for Lumon? going to make a tentative guess that it might have been for quite some time, because she's got those funky off-putting ways of saying things, but she emotes a bit more than, say, Cobel. so maybe more of a Milchick type
