came back here on tumblr after literal years just for gomens 2 stuff and i got a notif from you. I feel happy seeing your blog again,, so its so surprising for me that you disliked s2, purely just bc youre someone i consider as monumental to the entire fandom bc of your loyalty pre-TV era. so it's intriguing to know your thoughts abt the tv version.

i read your points and DAMN you reminded me of the stuff i didnt like back in s1 that I FORGOT bc so many years have passed since i watched + read the series. I forgot how much I loved bastard, asshole Aziraphale. TV him is characterized as 100% good, better than heaven dude which isn't bad.. and hes very fluffy and adorable. But i always liked the difference between that and crowley being a demon and yet nice. i always missed him calling him "my dear" too. If theyre gonna make them lovey dovey in TV, make him call him my dear damn it!!

As a book fan too, i personally loved s2. But reading your points made me realize it wasnt completely perfect so I respect your side. I do hope s3 turns out to be better than our expectations so you can tune back to it again. I just want you to have more content that you can enjoy even if it's completely new stuff. I understand the feeling so bad of having new stuff but being unable to enjoy it (a diff show for me). Makes you wonder what kind of plot he and Terry originally planned for all this fanservicey stuff to happen. I agree about the book part too, Crowley would never throw those around! The part with them meeting as angels, honestly I think it wouldve been better if they just didn't remember it so they wouldn't ruin their first meeting in the book. It would've been fine as a throwaway like "they met but don't remember."

With the finale,, hmmm I think TV!Azira's characterization def plays a part in why he did it. TV!him screams as someone who is still insecure about being an angel and losing his privileges. So he took the only opportunity he could to change heaven so he and Crowley could live in peace, after seeing Gabriel who is alr so powerful, be cast away after that decision. I'm curious though, how would you think book!him would think in this decision?? With an Armageddon 2 coming up again I can't imagine of anything else the two of them could do to fight it again w/o an influence in higher power.

And yeah like you said, it's possible to enjoy the book and the show at the same time, just taking into consideration that they are different media and characters. It's hard to imagine book!Aziraphale in this situation because there has been too many differences that led to this situation......and I just don't see book!Aziraphale in this situation, because to begin with, I don't think Gabriel would even go to him in times of trouble, lol. So let's say that Metatron directly went to him after everything had happened and Gabriel had already ran off and offered him the position (with an offer he can't refuse) -- I think he would have to accept on the surface, and then he would immediately go to Crowley to try to work their way out of it/figure out a way to keep the position but still slacks off all the time like he's always done 😂😂

yey about the draft thing! (I never understood it anyway and I don’t watch nwsl but it looks like fans are happy about it 👍😅)

very yay!!! i've been reading about the cba all day so i'll explain a bit if anyone's curious ⬇️

the draft is a very american sports thing -- when players decide to go pro out of high school or college (which are very established here rather than academies and reserve teams), they make themselves available for the draft and the worst performing teams in the pro league each season will get the first draft picks so they essentially get the best new players, which is supposed to maintain parity btwn teams and avoid the teams with the most money or pull hoarding all the best rookies

it was integrated into the nwsl pretty much by default -- but as it turns out doesn't work as smoothly for how global of a sport soccer is (clubs have a way bigger pool of overseas players to buy from than other american sports so they don't rely on the draft for new talent) and also takes a lot of agency away from young players. lots of reasons and lots of debate on both sides of it. that's the college draft but what's also been eliminated is the expansion draft, which was when a new team was created they got their free pick of available players (not limited to just rookies) to give them a fair shot, but at the expense of the players who suddenly got traded and had to uproot their lives (among other potential dangers in a post-roe v wade world and with the history of bad actors in women's sports). it sounds good for new teams in theory but in practice it never really works out anyway (just look at utah royals' place on the table lol)

anyway the elimination of the draft is just one part of the cba that was announced today and i really recommend looking into it if this kind of thing interests you! the nwslpa (players' union) secured lots of player protections, much higher salary caps and minimums, guaranteed contracts (i.e. if you get injured or smth, which we know happens a lot in woso these days, you'll still get paid your full salary no matter what), extra bonuses for end of season awards, charter flights (the usa is huge you gotta fly), players' consent is FINALLY required for trades, free agency for all, parental leave and childcare, mental health services, etc etc

and a lot of the same workplace protections will also apply to front office staff and everyone who works behind the scenes at clubs and within the league so it's genuinely a huge step in the right direction for making women's sports leagues truly professional and safe working environments, and also not being afraid to diverge from the model of major men's leagues 👌

of course there's always progress to be made and the elimination of the draft will def come with a learning curve, but this has all been a long time coming and a lot of past nwsl players suffered and were put in a lot of precarious positions that future players will hopefully never even dream of happening to them now 👍

and last thing i promise: i remember answering an ask about kc current having lucy's discovery rights, meaning if she wanted to go to the nwsl she'd have to sign with them or they'd make bank if another team wanted her. that's been eliminated as well so i believe she's a free bird if she ever comes here!

what would chuuyas guitar look like...

ok so this actually sent me on a guitar finding rampage and I went and found a ton and also came up with a whole scenario on how he ended up buying said guitar so *ahem* let me set the scene. (note- I haven't read stormbringer yet and some details based on when are a little iffy)

Chuuya has recently joined the mafia and has started making more money than he knows what to do with. He's driving himself crazy trying to find something to distract himself with.

He's walking around and finds a guitar store and wanders in, not really planning on buying anything yk? And then he realizes, damn these look cool! (not sure what age, but def still young, late teens maybe? but he suddenly REALLY wants one)

some of the things I focused on were price and look. As amazing sounding as Epiphones (my personal favorite in both look and sound, which is why I have one) are, they're not as popular a brand and only ever a couple hundred USD (another reason I liked them)

another thing is, he is 100% no doubt about it an electric guy. He'd glance at some of the acoustics, but electrics come in so much more variation, and you can make them sound so many different ways than you can with an acoustic. (also, speaking as a small person here, it can be really hard for shorter people to play acoustics because of the huge bodies. Unless you've got perfect posture and a whole lot of patience, they really dig into your skin. not to mention electrics are typically way easier to handle/play, and he has no clue how to play these things, he just knows he wants it to sound and look cool)

I personally think he would be bored with the classical fender shape, and would just walk right past any of them to cooler and more interesting guitars. here's a list of the ones I found (including model and price) that are pretty big guitar brands: (Fender, Gibson, etc)

I think the colors and patterns on the fenders might intrigue him, but the shapes on the Gibsons are wayyy more interesting.

Gibsons also have a history of being easier to care for, at least initially after buying (learned this in a conversation with a guitar mechanic when I bought mine, where he showed me some guitar care stuff and how to set it up/restring it) and have a nicer sound imo.

I was also interested in a Japanese brand called Killer. I'm not sure the full story, but I think a guy from a band made his own line of guitars and is selling them, and they looked pretty decent. Price was also getting higher up there, too. (listed in ¥, I converted them to USD)

Before I get into the final option I had in mind, I'd like to talk about why no "flying v" shaped guitars are on this list. For one, I personally find them unappealing. They didn't call out to me the way these other ones did, and also can be difficult to manage. He still needs to learn to play, so I thought it would be best to get him a manageable guitar first before he goes for something flasher like a flying v if he wants. There are plenty of other interesting shapes and sounds out there, so I chose to look for those instead.

Now for the final guitar I found that I like for Chuuya. It's also a Japanese brand, that seems to be preferred by rock/metal bands (not sure on specific genres). As I was scrolling through the models, I found this one. It's sleek, with a really cool shape. Ibanez are apparently pretty high quality. The specific model was "originally developed with metal and nothing but metal in mind" (from the webpage on the model here)

As much as I like to draw mushy wholesome romance between two characters...I love horror to an almost unhealthy extent. It is my favorite genre of anything honestly (I have spent days binge watching horror films back to back to back on Netflix, even the bad ones)

I've never really done a recommendation list before for anything so I can only list my favorites that I could spend a day rewatching no problem. I also need to add that I am a gore hound and the gorier the film or series is, the higher my chances of enjoyment so please keep this in mind.

My FAVORITE horror films are:

Brain Dead/ Dead Alive: I need to state that this film basically has EVERY trigger in it and did not age well AT ALL in terms of some of the jokes. However, having watched it when I was young, it was a crucial part of me becoming a horror fan and I love this trainwreck dearly...for its special effects. Mainly just the special effects. I do appreciate how the film is kinda split in two. The first being funny zombie comedy stuff and the last half being...well a shit ton of blood and gore. Also it has stop motion in it at some points which I love as someone who also adores stop motion.

The Final Destination Franchise: Not recommended for the paranoid but I love this 2000s ass film franchise. The premise is creative as well as the deaths. I also love that Death is super petty in this series and refuses to just kill someone up front and instead chooses the Rube Goldberg approach to offing people. Plus the original voice actor for Kratos pops up in one of the films which is a bonus if you are a God of War fan like me. If I had to pick a favorite out of the franchise, I'd say it's a tie between the first and the last. HOWEVER, the last film is oh so more rewarding if you watched the entire franchise-I will not spoil why but just trust me.

Candyman: The original film specifically. It's so interesting how the antagonist is a living myth and is so poetic in his words that sometimes I kinda forgot he was the villain. I love his design and the fact this film deeply touches on certain issues and not just being focused on being a typical slasher.

The Haunted Mansion: Yes the...original Disney live action film with Eddie Murphy. I count it as a horror film because it was genuinely scary to me as a kid. There's still some horrific stuff in it now. I mean, you got the opening credit scenes leading up to a dude straight up hanging himself, the zombies looking like straight up corpses, A DUDE GETTING DRAGGED TO HELL. The music still haunts me to this day.

Nope: A recent addition but this is def one of the best horror films I've seen. It is filled to the brim with so many details that you don't catch on the first watch. Plus, the "spaceship" is such a well designed element that I still think about how it works and how smart of a concept it was. I love the protagonists in this film as well and the bit of humor sprinkled in. I actually enjoyed this film so much I read the script for it since it was online (which I've never done for any film before). Cannot recommend this film enough.

Us: This film is just a level or horror that I only feel when reading Junji Ito stories. The idea of a doppelganger never scared me until this film because the entire concept is your other self hunting you down to kill you. There's a murder spree scene in this film that is so well framed and done because you see both everything and nothing at the same time because of the camera angle. The Tethered are underrated as monsters.

The Thing: The old one with the husky dog. The original Among Us and the best "WHO THE FUCK IS THE KILLER" film. The special effects are amazing and the fact that the audience cannot tell who the alien is is so great because we feel just as scared as the crew members. Plus...the alien absorbing people is just straight horrific.

This list is getting long and I have so many horror films I got jingling around in my brain but my last one is Pet Semetary. I was gonna put Poltergeist, which is also a favorite and is the only paranormal film I enjoy (I am not a big fan of ghost movies but that's because I love gore and carnage), but I kinda...don't really see it as a horror film. It certainly is one but there's so many cute and funny moments and it's kinda more whimsical than scary to me.

ANYWAYS BACK TO PET SEMETARY-There's an unsettlingness to it that I can't really explain. It's not just the dead pet aspect, it's just the vibes in it. The happy music becoming twisted as well as the always foreboding mood where you know something bad is gonna happen. There's a couple things that are left up to the audience's imagination but there's enough context that you just KNOW something terrible happened (like that ending). Plus, the little kid actor going on a killing spree is...kinda funny. He's just a little fella with a knife having a good ole time before bedtime.

ANYWAYS-I'VE RAMBLED ENOUGH ABOUT HORROR FILMS!

So I had a really weird, random transformers concept idea pop up

So I had this idea that i just got yesterday and kept thinking about. similar to RID2015's motif of all the decepticons being animal themed, this series would have the theme of the Decepticons be based off the universal classic monsters. literally this whole idea came from a pic where someone showed that wfc megatrons arm could be swapped with primes because of the weapon gimmick. and i was like, oh megatron with a different arm is cool, what if he had many salvaged parts, like frankenstein. so yeah i just rolled with and kept developing that concept, fell down the rabbit hole a bit and so here's what i have so far.

the plot is that at the height of the war, shockwave tricks megatron into leading a crew of cons mostly loyal to him on a fools errand looking for an energy source, so he can gain command of the deceptions. ending up marooned on earth in the scheme, they spend years there, attempting to first conquer humanity, then hide from them after being repeatedly overwhelmed and many killed, and finally to simply survive. badly damaged and no longer caring for their goals, infighting finally causes them to all go rogue to survive in their own ways. after the end of the war, optimus leads a crew of autobots to investigate and possibly capture megatron after learning of his fate when shockwave was defeated. the autobots role then would basically be monster hunters, attempting to remain in hiding on earth, with the help of Mikaela Banes, to hunt down the now monstrous decepticons

megatron-primarily based on the Frankenstein monster, he'd be surviving now as a grotesque patchwork of parts from his fallen warriors to stay alive(also partially based on DOTM design). he still maintains his drive to dominate and cunning and continues to manipulate events from the shadows, also sorta making him a bit of dr frankenstein as well. bots he'd def have parts incorporated from would include thundercracker, blackout, demolishor, flamewar.

nightbird would be based on the bride of frankestein, owing to her original origin, she will have been made by megatron from parts scavenged from shadow striker, slipstream and flamewar.

barricade would be based on igor, having been badly crippled and still faithfully aiding megatron as his crony. he secretly has the statsis locked bodies of rumble and frenzy hidden away, which he has one-sided conversations with.

starscream would play up his g1 trait and be a spark ghost, frequently haunting/tormenting megatron but also keeping tabs on the other cons and watching/harassing the autobots.

soundwave would be based on the phantom of the opera, with half his head being melted/badly damaged, he now hides in the sewers and composes his own music which he anonymously broadcasts to the human city above. he is also going insane as his damage means his mind reading abilities are always active and hearing all the humans minds. he also refuses to free his cassettes from his chest out of paranoia that they may either betray or abandon him.

skywarp would be based on the invisible man, his body having been rendered virtually nonexistent by previously being overloaded when attempting to teleport, he wears makeshift armor(made from jet parts and based on the armada version) to be seen and hold together his barely existing physical form.

reflector would be based on the classic zombie horde; he/they created far too many copies/clones at once, spreading the shared consciousness too thin until it snapped, leaving them all bereft of any higher consciousness, only barely living functions like stunted mobility and desire to find energy, as well as brain modules from other bots to potentially restore their own mind.

shatter, would be based on dracula, after a failed experiment in augmenting the decpeticons energy processing abilities, became a ravenous energy vampire, compulsively sucking off raw energy sources to survive, including other bots.

sixshot would be based on a werewolf, having lost control of his savage and now independent wolf mode, which he cannot resist switching to at random times.

spittor would be based on the creature of the black lagoon, with his look and traits based off his tfa version but to a greater extent. he now also has a proper frog alt mode, though a grotesque one.

cyclonus would be based on the mummy, having been supposedly killed by the humans and bound in titanium wrapping and dumped underground to be forgotten. he eventually stirs from statsis lock, his mind deteriorated and his body barely functioning and only held together by the bindings, and goes out to seek warped revenge on humans and transformers alike.

Bonecrusher, based on his movie version, would just be like a wild engine of destruction, very much a jason vorhees type.

blackarachnia, with a tfa design, would be also mutated into a technorganic which is treated more as her being this biomechanical abomination, somewhat inspired by the Metaluna Mutant.

snapdragon and apeface would be based on godzilla and king kong respectively, and be like mini kaiju who consistently feud in beast mode and destroy the same city over and over.

the insecticons are now feral insect types who have built a large underground hive.

the autobots would consist of optimus prime, ironhide(movieverse based), red alert(tfa based), jazz, bulkhead, mirage, hashtag(earthspark based), bumblebee, cliffjumper, whirl, knockout(rotf based) and wheeljack(dotm body design and personality, but with typical colors and head design). optimus, jazz, bee and cliff would have overall design and traits based on their wfc/foc designs, simply just if they now had earth mode features.

so, what are thoughts on this admittedly weird concept?

havent stopped thinking about q's biggest relationship problem being strafleet/people who care about picard. like on one hand its gotta be frustrating for q but worse for picard bc these are the people he trusts and sure picard is usually sure of his choices and sticks to his guns but people whos opinion you value doubting you and being concerned has got to take its toll. and that would def cause friction in their relationship w/ q's only option would really be to make nice w picards friends and that would just be. a disaster. but it would also be really funny and kinda like a scott pilgrim situation where instead of battling exes hes gotta prove he has good intentions. first opponent starfleet, then picards main crew, and finally guinan.

I think if Picard started something with Q after ST:TNG the reactions would not be that negative or sceptical because there is evidence that Q actually cares about Picard (saved his life twice) and that he also lends a helping hand in The Trial.

But anything before Tapestry? Especially after Amanda, where the TNG crew has become aware that Qs can cause someone to become attractad/fall in love with them and that apparently to Q it was not much of a big deal? After all, Data could point out in his usual neutral way, all Q would have to do is increase a few of Picards hormones when he is around like testosterone, dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin and vasopressin. Something everyone who is aware of what Q is would be done with a snap of his fingers.

And even though this is an interesting dark scenario, I don't see Q doing something like this.

But can you blame others thinking that Q might do that?

So, this is something I like thinking about as well, so there is quite a rant:

Imagine you are a higher up in Starfleet, more of a pencil-pusher but you are stil respected and have a good amount of power. And then you hear the rumors. That the entity known as Q, the one whose file you have only briefly read through on one occassion after you had been informed about The Trial Humanity was seemingly put on by the Q Continuum. And let's be honest, especially on paper reading that someone who could possibly be put on death-row has started a relationship, and a romantic one at that, with the very Judge of the Trial and on whose opinion not only that persons but also most everyone that person values life depends on, doesn't sound exactly healthy, does it? Add to that Q being the one who introduced the Enterprise to the Borg (and I highly doubt a lot of people agree that Q had wanted to 'help' them in some way and there is also the bad sidetaste that Q throwing the Enterprise at the Borg and then snapping them back was what had caused the Borg Collective to get interested in Picard and you can't deny that (whatever his intentions may have been) Q is at least partially responsible for Locutus), reading a file about how Q had put some of Picards crew in a game with Death Penalty Boxes... and you get what I am saying.

Janeway and Sisko are well.. Janeway and Sisko. But I can actually see some in Starfleet recognizing and treating Q for the very real threat that he is especially if they never met Q and have a lot more safer jobs/positions.

Add to that having actually met Captain Jean-Luc Picard a few times via video meetings or in personal. A bit awkward if you try to make small talk and talk about personal lifes but generally very professional, has a bit of a proverbial stick up his arse and not exactly someone you can even imagine would so much as willingly be in the same room as someone who could very much consider blowing up a solar system as something fun.

With the crew, there would be a bit of a nuance considering most of them actually met Q. Again, the earlier in TNG the more questionable this relationship looks.

Riker: Riker at one point seemed more amused by Qs presence than anything. But then again, he was the one who had suddenly fallen in love/become attracted to Amanda not entirely out of his own accord, which would make him at least just a tad bit suspicious of the Captain telling him about having started something with Q. Also Riker is a bit of a mother hen when it comes to Picard and with Q he can't do anything to help his captain if something goes wrong. Q decides he wants to kidnapp Picard to somewhere more 'fun' or just doesn't want to 'share' Picard with his crew anymore? Well, the Captain is now gone and the Enterprise will never be able to contact him or find him again. Remember the Shuttle Craft scene?

Worf: Worf hates Q. Q in Worfs eyes is incredibly dishonourable and if it's after Deja Q in Worfs opinion they should have killed him when they had the chance. He would totally belief that Q brain/hormonedwashed or in some other form manipulated the Captain into this. Whatever Qs intentions with the Captain are Worf doesn't think they are good. Probably something despicable.

Beverly: Own personal, difficult feelings aside, when she pictures Jean-Luc with anyone besides herself it's usually someone.. a lot nicer. And kinder. less of a nuissance and a potential threat. And someone who would not have turned her into a dog. Her opinion of Q is not as bad as Worfs, but she probably doesn't see Q as someone capable of wanting a serious romantic relationship and uses her close friend more as a distraction/toy than anything. In her mind, Q is probably one hell of a selfish partner and considering her differences with Q because of Amanda probably would think that Q did at least something to the Captain.

Geordi: Well, Q did not exactly do a great impression on him the time he was a human, but Geordi has made friends with people he had been told were evil and his enemy. And he finds it somehow difficult to believe that someone who gave Data the ability to laugh is truelly evil. But he can't disagree that the Captains, to them, sudden feelings for Q are suspicious and that he thought that Captain Picard would ever go for someone who like Q personality wise. And godlike-entity-who-could-destroy-their-warp-core-with-a-snap-of-his-finger-wise.

So this was a rather interesting development. He trusts the Captain but Data is also aware of the possiblities Qs power might bring. Nevertheless (provided this is after Deja Q) from his own previous interactions with Q he can't see the entity actually do something bad or badly intentioned regarding them or their Captain.

Deanna: Hard to tell. If it's after Déja Q she had felt Qs emotions that time on the Bridge. And besides the terror she had felt quite a few different emotions coming the entity and so she could be very much aware of Qs 'interest' in the Captain. Wether she thinks that Q would have bad intentions (or perhaps better to say good intentions that due to the incredibly different nature of beings between Q and Picard could result into bad actions) or if he would go as far as manipulating Picards biology is debatable.

Guinan: She and Q must have had beef. And if you remember how Q was in the beginning of TNG and how careless he treated other peoples lifes, again the game and turned Tasha into ice and generally didn't seem to care about anything I can see a Q before Star Trek acting quite.. unfavourably towards other species. We never find out why Q2 complains how he regularly has to apologize because of things Q did and what Q did to the Calamarians. Her overall opinion of Q is pretty low. And she cares about Picard a lot.

20. What are things I look for in a book?

Well first things first do I like it? Cause if I don't then what are we doing here. But I guess getting more technical if there's one genre I'm very nitpicky about its gothic horror cause imo too many books call themselves gothic horror when it's more like paranormal horror or historical fiction (looking at you The Hacienda). Like I look for the dramatics and overwhelming swell of emotions, I look for the dread the creepiness that crawls under my skin, the horror that lurks in the shadows you know what I mean. Then there's like romance my other fave and some are good but the best ones have me blushing and laughing and kicking my feet in the air (shoutout to Can't Resist Her, Nighthawk, and The Bride Test). If it's fantasy, literally nothing because it's not topping The Final Strife.

SO GLAD YOU ASKED! Everybody read the final strife by saara el-arifi! It's about this girl Sylah she is a part of what they call the stolen. She was one of the babies of a higher class (Embers) switched with Dusters (a middle class but not the lowest of the low) and she was supposed to be a part of this revolution of sorts but her entire family died at her fault and she is drowning her pain and sorrows in drugs. So when she is drunk one night trying to take back what she's owed she finds herself in the captivity of Anoor who she was switched with and she sees the life she could've had but Anoor wants Sylah to train her for this competition for these warden positions but mind you, not everyone knows she's really a duster so it'd be a big deal if she won but it's a lot of people ready to bring her down and Sylah's got people from her past returning with the same old motives but if she can help Anoor win it could mean serious things for them both. And we can't forget our Ghosting sister Hassa, she lurks in the shadows forgotten as most Ghostings are maybe she isn't an Ember or a Duster but there's big things happening behind the scenes and you can't count Hassa out.

LITCHERALLY I thought I might not be a fantasy girl fr. THEN I READ THIS ONE ITS SO GOOD. 10/10. I can't wait until The Battle Drum realizes next year like I'M READY. Like side note it's got great action scenes, it's got a lesbian bisexual and a trans girl. Holy trinity of women, and they're all Black. Js. Also arguably one of the better portrayals of drug addiction I've ever come across

19. Most disliked popular books?

Since I already answered this I'm going to elaborate on one and that's These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. Literally biggest disappointment I've read in a while. You know it's like 1920s Shanghai setting, supposed to be Chinese and Russian mafia with some enemies to lovers going on. Why was I 200 plus pages in and nothing had happened. Literally could tell you maybe 2 things that happened. And I was more than halfway done. I'm also a firm believer if your story whatever medium its in involves gangs or mafia you are required to not be boring like these are borderline thrillers or they should be and yet...this book did not deliver despite sounding great. And I def was reading reviews wondering wtf did other people read cause I was like...there's no freaking way. Also for it to be enemies to lovers it was all enemies and no lovers, like not the main part. But I blame the internet cause folks heard enemies to lovers and ran with it but with no effort like hello

Hey, so here’s my lil’ mini review of Jongdae’s mini-album Last Scene after listening to the whole thing twice:

Last Scene: Song was kinda boring ngl like his voice is ofc lovely in any song but the melody itself felt too plain to me. But I did like when he sang higher/with more power towards the lil' bridge and end. Felt like this song would be perfect as an OST for a Kdrama tho which makes sense too since he's an OST king. Like it's the kinda song that plays after a couple breaks up or sumn lol, like the way the accompaniment picks up towards the end really lends to that feel as well.

Photograph: I love when he sings in his lower register, it's very toasty! And soothing too like I felt like I was sitting around a fireplace during the wintertime. Anyways, this song is one where ya gotta close your eyes and just follow the melody, like he's telling a tale just with those notes. And I just love how he switches between his different registers <3. Lastly, this should've been the title track imo if he or SM really wanted a ballad as a title track.

Traveler: Finally…an uptempo beat OTL. Lmao I love this so much just from that, like gotdamn Jongdae your voice lends so well to not just ballads but also poppy, upbeat songs. But tell me why this song also feels like it'd be perfect as an OST too like it'd be the one that plays when a couple goes on a date or sumn. Hehe anyways I liked it a lot!

I Don't Even Mind: I love me a good acoustic guitar in a song~ But lol why'd the background sounds raise as it got to the chorus like it was gonna be some big drop or twist just to have it be the same beat? T.T The beat with the kinda faded Ohh's or whatever it is and the guitar playing together really adds to a haunting melody in this to me. I love it though (and imo this song is the perfect compliment to Junmyeon's song Decanting). Anyway the way he sings 'Cause I Don't Even Mind' is gonna get stuck in my head lol. Overall, I dug this song too!

Reminisce: I liked the drums that came in during the pre-chorus, and his voice ofc again. I'm always in awe of how high his voice can go and at how he effortlessly sings every note! But yeah with this song, in general it's just okay like I wouldn't go outta my way to listen to it after these 2 listens, y'know? Felt too generic to me.

Your Shelter: I feel the emotion in this one, like I felt a sense of dread, a sense of hope, sadness, everything wrapped up in his voice. And with the sad melody from that awesome piano playing, I lowkey felt emo af lol but this would be perfect to play when it rains. Like this is what Last Scene should've been imo. This or Photograph def should've been the title track imo. Seriously tho, I loved the piano in this and I actually was like No, it's over when it ended 'cause I wanted more. Perfect way to end the album imo.

And so my favs from this album in order are: Photograph, Traveler, I Don't Even Mind, Your Shelter, Reminisce, Last Scene.

TL;DR: So, I loved 4 songs out of this album! The other two were kinda boring to me but still I'm glad that even though these are like almost all ballads, he went with a few with different accompaniment than the typical plain acoustic guitar or one-note piano playing that a lot of ballads can have. I'd rec listening to this album overall! And only thing I'd want to hear as a fan of his voice, is him singing even more upbeat songs, like go crazy dude. (And I'm forever wanting him to do a full rock or at least pop-rock song like his voice is perfect for that. Like hello? Uprising was legendary and it'd be amazing to hear more in that vain. Anyways that's a rant for another time lol. Thanks for reading all that and please lemme know what you thought of the album as well~)

ate some delicious sushi for breakfast (ik, im just not much of a breakfast guy) and it was awesome, then curled up and started sketching while watching s3.5 of my fave show again. spent some time outside walking, then went back into my big ass library greenhouse thing and decided to learn some more languages. it is so fucking cool guys also english is the silliest language fr. french is a close second. my fave rn is mandarin which is important for some drs of mine but idk the tonal changes slay

saw my horse todayyyyyyyyyyyy shes fucking huge. deep brown w black feathering at the bottom. i tacked her up and took her out riding a bit. god it was so fucking nice to be on a horse again. i also noticed im much more flexible (which is nice bc i scripted it but i forgor) and being taller than my cr is also like jarring to come back to i was so used to it 😭😭😭😭

but yeah i took my horse up to the creek and stuck my feet in thereeeeee best feeling ever. i scripted that i Can tell the like. difference between cold and Wet (because fun fact humans in this reality cannot feel Wetness, its just a change of temperature/pressure! we dont have the nerves for it or smth idk) so THAT was cool. dk how to describe it but yeah it was super cool.

anyway yeah we meandered into the forest a bit and i saw a fucking moose which was crazy. ive never seen one irl before theyre SO big holy shit. i grabbed an apple from a tree and brushed it off and then ate it while i rode it was just so nice. guys i love nature 😭😭😭😭

then i went back home and cracked open a book to read. in my cr im rereading the series bc i forgor the context bc itd been 10 years since between when i last reread and getting the final book, but here i just did the "know" thing for the other four and then started reading the fifth <3333 its so fucking good so far.

idek how long i read for bc??? the hours there seem to be longer??? idk that whole day felt like so long but in a good way. idk time is fake ANYWAY. read a lot and then finally went inside. ate more sushi bc i can but i decided to try Every One from my favorite sushi spot here so i know which ones i like and which ones i dont and well. my faves are still my faves but ive found some good onessssssssss SLAY. i love being able to like. eat however much and not feel sicky like i can just Make myself feel hungry again and then i am and can continue eating. there were def some that i like crossed off my list as stuff i dont really care for but 1) not many 2) ive got a higher spice tolerance now so Even Less than wouldve been in my old reality, so idk dude we are just fucking slaying. also i love my hair there its perfect it doesnt get in my face when i dont want it too but it looks so good MAN

Jerma & Otto: The Curse of The Late Streamer- ... technically the first real game I sat down and played this year... as a fan game it was fine if not unfunny , as a point and click its reallllly bad 2/5

AI Sommnium Files: Nirvana Initiative- Finally got around to playing Nirvana Initiative, I am a little conflicted as like there was plenty I was not a fan of this time around, some odd plot beats here and there really muddled it. But when it got good it really got good so like ultimately a strong recommend if you like the first one , but understand it is in my opinion not as good. Still worth the time but missing something sadly from being a stand out sequel. Still is a 4/5 tho.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog- This was something alright, as a April fools joke game I really could not have lower expectations but it was really solid. The story was fun and lighthearted and did not fall into the 4/1 trap of just being zany for zany sake. Genuine great time 4.5/5

Class Action Park- An "okay" doc, it didn't shed any new light on the subject. The animated segments where unexpected and honestly unneeded. Still a really interesting subject that is fun to hear about. I liked how they went though each rides history 3.5/5

Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County- A goofy old fake horror doc. As a horror movie its not the best, but it is fun to watch now just to kinda peek into alien mythos. 3/5

One Killer Punch- a really short 45 min ish doc? While the first two cases made me go "huh that's interesting" the last case really made me feel emotions, def worth a watch at the short time length 4/5

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line- Played this one kinda worried at first cus I loved the original on 3ds and thought it couldn't be adapted. Really fun and loads of songs to play with only real complaint is wish more enemy variation. 4.5/5

Mario Warfare (rewatch)- still peak cinema (10/10)

FE Engage: Fell Xenologue- Kinda weird beating and ranking this before the actual game but what can I say I wanted the units. Honestly I feel I am way more positive on this then I was for the Cinder Shadows, I just was way more invested in the story here then in there. the plot actually made me curious where it was going, I liked the twists and turns for the most part, and enjoyed its darker turn. Of course I can not talk about the dlc without talking about the maps, I played on normal which I am thankful for because god I would have raged quit on higher difficulties. 1-3 where pretty normal if not kinda bland maps. 4 was a really neat concept for a map (well neat for engage its been done in other FE games). 5 just SUCKS tho def would not play it on higher difficulty. 5 was fine on normal honestly just kinda eh. I liked the characters and stuff so idk I enjoyed my time with the Fell. Nel is prob one of my fav engage characters... while Nil is one of my least lmao

Fire Emblem Engage- Story wise was not a huge fan, felt like a big downgrade from 3 houses story (not saying 3 houses story was prefect but). The two things that really save this game for me is the later game units and the gameplay. Love almost all the later game units they add a lot of flavor, which I am glad for because early game units for the most part did like nothing for me and I was worried the whole game would have been like that. Map wise one of my favs, loved all the fun gimmicks and spins on maps. ultimately still had super fun (4/5)

Spookware- I went in really wanting to like this one. I love wario ware and funny/spooky games but dang this disappointed. Biggest issue was how damn buggy it was, constantly got bugs that made me loose levels some broke the game entirely. Episode 2 mircogames where all just GOD awful like I almost put it down multiple times. It also felt like they just ran out of clever mircogames and plot with episode 2 its weird cus it was just such a massive down grade. Plot started out interesting and fun but just ran out of steam super fast. Sadly to me (2/5)

Necrobarista- I REALLY liked this one. The constantly changing perspectives could be a real turn off for some but I thought it was fun. Story was really interesting/fun, liked the characters a ton. Only real complaint is I wished it was longer and a little more fleshed out 4.5/5

Jurassic Park Dominion- RE6 did the plot better 2/5

Fostering Apocalypse- Reaaaaaly short vn, that was hella cute with great art. Honestly so short not much to say, was not a huge fan of how mechanics work around endings but still a good time 4/5

The Spirit & the Mouse- This was great, a fairly short but really enjoyable experience. Kinda a walking sim, there is no really challenge or anything but I don't really think there needs to be. The story it tells is unique and makes me smile. 4.5/5

Idol Showdown- idk not really that big into idols but for the low price of free this is a pretty fun 30 mins or so with friends atleast. Again this game is NOT DEEP but like its a free game what do you expect lmao 3/5

Spawn HBO show- Overall really like this show... but it has some problems esp season 3. I think I liked the concept more then the actual story but like still was a fun time. Glad I saw it either way. Twitch and Burke are the best in this. 3/5

Wandersong- Honestly do not think I can put into words how this game made me feel. Back half of story was fantastic, story was well written and fun. Game play was really fresh without feeling tedious. Design and everything made me really happy. Honestly easily a 5/5

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special- Decided to finally watch this since vol 3 came out... its fine. Animated segments where awful like wow, and the plot was really meh. It was nice to see more of the guardians interactions tho. 3/5

GOTG Vol.3- I may be a little crazy for saying this but this was an amazing send off to the best franchise in the MCU. Story was great, and like the first two movies the characters all played great off each other. The high evolutionary was one of the few great mcu villains 5/5

Please Be Happy- Sadly I did not like this one as much as I did the other two vns I played by the same devs, Idk just seems the weakest of the bunch. That being said still really solid, if this is their low , then the bar is still pretty high. 4/5

Mario Movie- Yeah it was fine, nothing amazing but did not really expect it to be lmao. The references where fun at times. No where as good as Mario Warfare tho. 3.5/5

Evil Dead Rise- A really enjoyable horror movie actually. I honestly do not have much to say it was just a well put together experience. Evil Dead continues to be one of the most solid long standing horror franchises. 4/5

Gunbusters- Like other Hideki Anno works I started off not feeling it, but it got so so fucking good in the second half. I really love the actions scenes and it did make me cry at the really end. Makes me want to get more into mechs cus this is great as fuck. 4.5/5

Diebuster- You can TELL they went on to make Gurren after this, honestly I did like gunbusters more overall but this is a solid af followup. 4/5

Soul Hackers 2- Kinda conflicted here, REALLY liked the characters and concept... but like the pacing is not really up to par. Wished there was more here. Also people where not lying there is some REALLY awful dungeon design here. Still Ringo and gang are great imo. 3.5/5

Transformers- Some fights where okay actually, but god everything else was abysmal writing was laughable bad wow. 2/5

Batman Soul of the Dragon- It is weird cus like, it is clear the makers of this movie really wanted to make a fun campy 70s kung fu movie but it really just fails at it. Movie also just REALLY did not need batman, like if you took him out nothing would change, felt forced 2/5

Spider-Man:Across the Spider-Verse-Going in I actually had mixed expectations. I knew people love it but the trailers really turned me off as it just seemed.. worse then the original. Glad to say that is FAR from the case, a huge improvement on something already amazing. Easy 5/5

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen- I went in remembering this being worse then the first.. but actually it was better. ITS STILL AWFUL but like the bar was low as fuck. I am scared for the next one as this is where I stop watching as a kid 2/5

i don’t know if you keep up with panic now, but did you see that the pre split band was sort of mentioned in brendon’s new single local god? If you know about this, who do you think the song is about?

I figured the song just sounds like Brendon's reflecting on someone who once played a part in his life (possibly even a version of himself if you want to read it that way). I'm def not saying the song is about Jacob Kirkegard or anything, BUT give me a second to explain more about Jacob just to show how lyrics are so open to interpretation.

So we started seeing pictures in early 2007 of Brendon and Jacob hanging out (some pictures are in this tag I just made... I’ll try to tag other pics later). I heard that they had been in a small band together or played music together or something like that when they were younger. Then Jacob became the bass player for Brown Eyed Deception sometime around the end of Brendon’s sophomore year of high school. Brown Eyed Deception played some local Vegas shows that year with bands like Name Taken and The Higher. For context, Brendon met and joined The Summer League in spring 2004... so Jacob was doing much cooler things in 2003-2004. Brown Eyed Deception kind of toured unsigned in 2004–2005 and they were seriously good. Kyle Lobeck was in Brown Eyed Deception too! The band turned into YouInSeries and released a record in 2006. Jacob hung out with a lot of guys who were in successful bands (many Vegas bands got signed after P!ATD's success) but he sort of slid between everything. Part of my info here is coming from fandom gossip in 2007-2008 and info that Vegas kids shared, so I’m def not saying that this post is on the same level as my Panic knowledge btw. Anyways, I heard Jacob was super kind, but it was like becoming a star wasn't really a goal of his?? Here’s part of Kyle’s myspace post when YouInSeries broke up around the start of 2008: “...After starting this band 5 years ago with my best friends in my garage, it seems as though YouInSeries has finally ran its course. We were in the process of writing songs for our second record when I was informed that some of us were not compelled to continue with this lifestyle anymore. It saddens me in such a way that its hard to express in words. I really wish we could have recorded our new songs for you guys to hear.” No idea where Jacob falls into that.

P!ATD never had the chance to create a local fanbase. They just put their demos on purevolume, got signed by Pete, and then had an international fanbase before they’d even recorded AFYCSO. I’ve mentioned over & over how they were hated on because they didn’t pay their dues... that was seriously like a main theme of 2005-2006 that got really old (even Jon Walker said he initially hated P!ATD before he met them). Jacob played in a local band that absolutely paid their dues over the years and had some decent respect from teens (just saying, I'm from several hundred miles away and I had actually heard of Brown Eyed Deception in high school... like I found them online and burned some of their demos onto a mix cd, so they were at least at that level). Maybe the local experience that Jacob had is better than the fame he didn't seek? lol who knows... but the lyrics could fit someone like him:

Again, I’m not saying this song is actually about Jacob! I’m only pointing out how lyrics are so open to interpretation. The first verse and the song in general doesn’t fit Ryan Ross at all, but I’m sure someone will still try to make that work too.

It’s cold.

Something that isn’t quite snow, but isn’t rain, falls from the darkened sky as the Kings lead their men away from their Kingdom. Away from safety.

It’s no secret, what awaits them.

The Asgardian Army is huge. And powerful.

There’s a general feeling of unease among the soldiers as they walk towards a battle to be had with their friends. Men they’ve shared a drink with.

Men that they now need to kill.

The Kings aren’t feeling much better about the situation.

For years, Thor has been like a brother to them. A confidant. Someone that they’ve trusted with their lives over and over again. And now they march into battle, prepared to kill if it comes down to it.

They march in silence, the sorrow of losing their Queen weighing heavily on their minds and in their hearts.

A woman who was kind and compassionate, yet strong. Strong enough to still bloom through the mistreatment she faced.

As the men head farther and farther from the safety of the village, Wanda’s been busying herself among the safety inside, insuring everyone will be prepared for the days, weeks, maybe even months to come.

The houses on the edge of the Kingdom are abandoned, the farmers heading inland for a higher chance of survival.

In the heart of the Kingdom, the safety of the centre, everyone has gathered, lanterns held tightly in their grasp as tears drip down their cheeks.

They hadn't known their queen long, but they knew her just long enough to know what a kind soul she possessed.

Wanda lights the first lantern, sending it up into the sky, into the clouds and the rain and the snow.

And it flies high.

Soon after, more lanterns join hers, until the entire sky is filled with them, the darkness replaced with the warm yellow lights.

They shine so brightly that the Kings can see them when they look back, something they’re doing far more often than they should.

The first rule of walking into battle is to never look back.

Yet with the sky painted for their late wife, they can’t help but steal glances, sending their prayers to the gods. Prayers, not for their own safety, no. But for yours. A prayer that the Kingdom above treats you far better than the kingdoms on Earth did.

The lanterns are so bright that Thor’s army sees them too.

His heart hurts, but what’s worse is the anger burning in him. How dare they mourn the Queen that they killed?

His army marches onward, over hills and rocky terrain, prepared to fight to the death for their King. Their King who is incapable of taking back his own mind.

Less of a King and more of a pawn, now.

Finally, after marching all night and all day, the two armies come to a halt across from each other. The only thing separating them from the end of each other’s blades is the large muddy field that must’ve been used for farming.

Steve and James slide off their horses gracefully, and Thor does the same, drawing his sword and pointing it at the two Kings.

No words will be exchanged before this battle.

Thor’s army lets out a roar, unsheathing their swords and making way across the field.

The Acadian army mimics the war cry, and they rush forward to meet their friends turned foe.

The Kings, however, have their sights set on each other, and it’s as if the armies recognize that.

They don’t run. No, none of them are in any hurry. They walk through the clashing swords and cries of pain, stepping over fallen bodies until they are facing off with each other.

“Call off your soldiers, Thor. We can discuss this like men,” Steve tries, his hand holding the hilt of his sword tightly.

“You lost the option to discuss things when you killed my beloved,” The King spits, his eyes an eery blue.

“Fine.” Swords are drawn and the real battle begins.

You can hear the shouting, hear the sounds of war over the huffing of your horse beneath you.

The Valkyrie are all on horseback with you, pushing your horses as fast as they can go in an attempt at reaching the Kings before it all goes to Hell.

But from the sound of things, it’s already begun.

“Your Majesty, look!” You follow the gaze of one of the Valkyrie, eyes finding the glowing lanterns in the distance.

They’re coming from Acadia.

“They are mourning you,” Brunnhild whispers, slowing her horse as the sound of the battle grows closer.

“If things go well, there won’t be much to mourn,” you reply, breaking through the barrier of trees and instantly getting pelted with ice-cold raindrops.

You squint through the downpour, trying to pinpoint the Kings in the midst of the battle. Or the trickster. Either one.

Sure enough, your husbands and Thor are at the very centre, the latter evidently losing the fight.

“Go, Majesty. We’re right behind you,” Brunnhild encourages, giving you a nod.

You take a deep breath then nudge your horse in the belly, just firmly enough for her to start running again.

She takes you through the battle, trampling those who get in her path, and you don’t blame her.

Your eyes are trained on the three men as they fight, Thor’s sword getting knocked from his hand.

He stumbles back onto the ground, staring up at James as he lifts his sword to deliver the finishing blow.

“No!” You shout, sliding off your horse and diving in front of Thor, your own sword raised.

The metal clashes against your husbands’ and his face screws up in shock.

“(Y/n)? Y-you’re alive?” You shove his sword back and rise to your feet, glaring at the three kings.

“This is what he wants, you fools! Do you not see that?!” You shout.

Although you’re yelling at them, James and Steve feel waves of relief and love wash over them.

You’re alive.

“He is preying on your weak minds to get you to do his bidding! He wants to rule the continent and he knows you will destroy each other! That’s what he’s counting on! You-” Steve grabs you and yanks you forward.

Thor’s blade slices your arm instead of piercing your chest, and you hiss in pain, glaring at him.

“His mind is not his own.” He lifts his sword but James blocks it, giving you a moment to explain yourself to your other husband.

“He knows not what he’s doing,” you try, hoping he’ll see your side.

“He’s waged a war! We cannot simply sit back and allow him to take control!”

“Majesty! Loki is here,” Brunnhild shouts, racing over to you and interrupting your conversation. You follow her gaze, meeting the sinister eyes of the raven-haired prince.

“I’ll handle him. He's mine.”

You turn back to Steve, squinting up at him through the rain.

“If you do nothing else for me in this marriage, in this life, please just spare him. He’s one of the few friends I have.”

Steve’s face softens and he gives you a small nod.

��We’ll do our best.”

His hand finds yours, giving it a gentle squeeze before he’s jumping back into battle.

You square your shoulders then start moving through the crowd of soldiers, easily blending in with the Asgardians in the uniform borrowed from the Valkyrie.

He steps into the clearing near the back of the Asgardian side, a smile on his face as you approach.

“Well, you are far stronger than I thought, your Majesty,” he says with a sneer.

You only glare at him.

“That is where you and I differ. My pain has made me strong while yours has only made you callous and weak. You could never rule a kingdom, let alone the continent. You get what you want through your tricks, your magic. That is not how a King fights.”

He stares at you for a long moment before nodding, dropping his cape and grabbing his sword.

“Fine. No more tricks. We shall see who the stronger one truly is.”

He makes the first move, his sword strokes precise and strong. But you block every attempt with just as much precision and strength.

He seems genuinely surprised by your strength as if he wasn’t there when you were being taught.

Every step forward pushes him a step back until you finally get him into a position where you can knock his sword away.

You press the blade to his chest, your own chest heaving with exertion and the wound in your stomach aching.

“The Valkyrie taught you well,” he muses, a smile on his face.

“But surely you didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?”

Your instincts tell you to step aside and you do, pulling back just as he yanks a dagger from his belt and swipes it in the air where you were standing.

The fight resumes, the rain soaking you and the clashing of metal ringing in your ears.

This time, however, he has the upper hand.

He twists and moves like a viper, each swipe of his blade getting closer and closer to finding purchase on your body.

He’s wearing you down, and he can tell.

One misstep, your foot sliding on the slippery earth, and then you’re on the ground and he’s on top of you, your sword knocked away.

Time seems to slow as he brings his blade to your throat, slicing a shallow cut into the sensitive skin.

“It’s such a shame I never got to have my turn with you. Seems as though everyone else did.”

You grind your teeth together, grabbing the blade sheathed on your thigh only for him to kneel on your wrist.

“You think me a fool? I’ve trained with the Valkyrie, too.”

You glare up at him, an idea bubbling into your head.

Jerking your head up and to the side, you lock your teeth around his wrist until he loosens his hold on the rest of your body, successfully freeing your trapped arm and giving you the moment you need to plunge the blade into his chest.

He stares at you in shock, his own blade falling from his grasp as he brings his hands up to his chest.

You scramble out from beneath him, your once white uniform now tainted brown and red with a combination of mud and blood.

He stays on his knees, taking shallow breaths as he stares up at you, so many emotions passing over his face.

“What have you won from this, Loki?” You demand, motioning to the soldiers slowing their fight, lowering their swords.

He must be losing his hold on their minds, you realize, your eyes scanning the crows until they land on the Kings, all three racing over to you.

You turn back to Loki and shake your head at him. “You have won nothing.”

He shakes his head, a pained grin stretching across his face.

“You think you’ve won? You’ve won nothing more than slavery! Than being treated as the worthless bastard you are! Your fate is sealed! I could’ve given you freedom! Power!” You shake your head and kneel down next to him, dropping your voice to a whisper.

“This continent knows no freedom. Not for people like us. It never will.”

You pull away, catching his confused look.

A hand lands on your shoulder, pulling you from the prince, and you look over at them.

Thor stands behind you, a look of pure sorrow and betrayal on his face.

He opens his mouth to speak but you shake your head, stepping aside and motioning to his brother.

“He meant to have you killed. To kill me and the Kings as well. He’s been plotting this for... only the Gods know how long. It’s been him. Behind every betrayal, every lie... everything.”

Thor kneels down in front of his brother, his eyes blurry with tears as he yanks him into a hug.

“Why?” He asks softly, holding onto Loki tightly.

The prince lets out a shuddering, pained breath.

“I... was tired of living in your shadow, brother. At least now... I’ll have a place in history.”

Thor drops his forehead to his brother’s shoulder as he grows weaker, sobs falling out of the big blond man.

“Are you alright?” James asks quietly, one hand falling to your waist while the other tips your chin up, inspecting your face for any injuries.

“I... yes.”

His touch is so soft and gentle. So different than what you’ve grown accustomed to.

Steve comes on your other side, his hand on your lower back as he gazes down at you lovingly.

“We thought...” He trails off and shakes his head, shoving the nasty thought away.

You’re alive. Here, in front of them, and that’s all that matters.

Thor slowly rises to his feet, leaving his brother on the ground glaring up at the four of you.

“All this fighting... all this death and hurt... no more. No more bloodshed.” You nod your agreement, your gaze falling to the prince.

“Bring him to Acadia. He will give us answers and then he will be punished for his crimes.”

Thor’s heart breaks at Steve’s request, but he knows nothing can be done. His brother has done too much unforgivable damage.

Loki glares up at you with nothing more than pure hatred in his eyes.

“I should’ve killed you that day in my brother’s chambers. I should’ve slit your throat then and there.” He spits the words like the venomous snake he is, his eyes glowing green.

The Kings each draw their swords, but the trickster is far too smart, too quick.

Quicker than him, though, is his older brother.

Thor steps in front of you as the dagger slides through the air, shielding your body with his.

The blade pierces his abdomen and he grunts, slowly crumpling to his knees while Steve rushes over to restrain the prince properly.

“Thor!” You cry, kneeling down in front of him and cupping his cheeks gently.

He takes a few deep breaths then smiles weakly up at you.

“I’m sorry, petal. I... never meant for you to be hurt the way you were. The things I’ve done to you... they are unforgivable. I will die a thousand times over to make up for all the damage I’ve caused.” You shake your head, tears welling up in your eyes.

“No, I’m alright. It wasn’t you, Thor. I-I know it wasn’t.”

He squeezes his eyes shut, bringing a hand to the knife in his gut.

“Loki has poisoned the blade. I... I fear only he knows of the antidote.” Horror fills you and you turn desperately to the prince as his brother collapses into the mud.

“Help him! This is your one chance for redemption, Loki. Do not squander it!” You shout, glaring through the rain at him.

He only looks between you and his brother, then turns away, giving you your answer.

You turn back to the blond and shake your head.

“No, this-this can’t be right.”

Thor takes your hand in his, tears rolling down his temples as he looks up at you.

“I am sorry, (Y/n). For not protecting you the way I could’ve. The way I should’ve. I am sorry. You... you are a warrior. A fighter. A queen. Of both Acadia... and Asgard.” You shake your head again, tears blurring your vision as James comes to your side, handing Thor his sword.

The blond clutches it tightly, a weak smile on his face.

“Even now, you offer me more than I deserve,” he whispers.

“You deserve to feast in Valhalla, friend. You’ve saved my wife. My queen. That is not something that will be forgotten.”

You squeeze his hand tightly, pressing it to your lips and kissing it softly.

“You were a good friend, Thor. A mighty King. A hero. Your legacy will live on. I swear it,” James whispers, a hand finding your back in comfort.

“Thor, please. Fight it. We-we can find an antidote,” you try uselessly. 

He gives you one last weak smile before resting his head in the mud, his eyelids fluttering closed.

His hand falls slack in yours, his grip on his sword loosening as his soul passes on from this world to the next.

“No... No! No, please!” You press your face against his chest, your heart aching for your friend.

Although he hurt you, you know it wasn't him. And now he’s gone. His life sacrificed for yours.

A king dead to save a bastard.

You sob against him, all your anger and sadness finally flooding out of you.

A gentle hand falls to your shoulder, carefully pulling you away.

“We’ll bring him back to Asgard for a proper funeral,” Steve whispers, gathering you in his arms and hugging you tightly.

You say nothing, only press your face against him and cry.

The fighting has long since ceased, and now the soldiers look on with sorrowful eyes at the fallen King and the mourning Queen.

Though they may not know all the details, it’s obvious how much you meant to each other.

“There has been enough death today. Enough sacrifice. Enough blood,” James announces loudly, his booming voice carrying out across the field.

“Majesty,” a soft voice whispers, a gentle hand finding your back.

You turn to the person and wipe your cheeks, offering only a nod as the Valkyrie come up behind you, still following your orders, your lead.

“I-I...” you trail off, not knowing what to say.

Their King is dead because of you.

Brunnhild places a gentle hand on your shoulder and bows her head then looks to your husband.

“We will bring him back to Asgard. Have the proper arrangements made for his funeral within a week.”

Your eyes move from her to your husband, and then over to Loki.

“There are still those in your council who wish to overthrow you,” you murmur, trying to keep your voice low.

“Loki will come with us. He will give us answers and then be sent to Asgard to be punished for his treason,” Steve says firmly, his eyes on the trickster.

“We will find the traitor and they will pay, my love. That, I promise.” You take a deep breath then nod, looking up at him then over at James.

“I want to be there when it happens. I want to know who has framed me, made it seem as though I had any poor intentions when coming to your Kingdom. And then I want to watch them be punished for their actions.”

The two exchanged surprised glances but neither have the heart to refuse. Not after all that you’ve been through.

They finally have you back. The last thing they want to do is push you away.

Finally Reading Heroes of Olympus

The Lost Hero first reading thoughts:

- It took me forever to finish this book, omg. I was very busy with school and honestly, I didn't expect this one to be longer.

- First of all, I loved all the mystery around the plot, the villain, and what the heck was going on with the roman and greek versions of the gods. I was very confused at the beginning honestly, I thought we were in some kind of parallel dimension or something.

- Actually, I like that it took its time to explain that whole thing with the gods, it was a seemingly very abstract concept and in the end, it felt much clear and made a lot of sense for the worldbuilding.

- I did start to guess the villain could be Gaia, but geez I didn't think we would dive into primordial gods. But at the same time, I like the high stakes, the whole mission seemed impossible, and is only the first book, I was stressed.

- I really loved the new characters, It was very exciting to see the children of other gods as main characters, and the abilities it gave them.

- Loved Piper, and Jason, but especially Leo.

- You guys the way I got excited to see a latino in this series, I was praying for the first few pages for him to not get put aside. Loved Leo and all his perks, he was such an interesting character and loved to see how he used his intelligence to get out of situations.

- Love to see Annabeth, my beloved.

- Oh! and I loved to see the new cabins for the children of minor gods, wish we could have seen more of it, is so interesting to see how much this world can expand.

- Was not expecting Hera to be so involved with all this, again the gods being anything but practical and clear. Also pretty creepy (and weirdy accurate to mythology) that Jason was “a gift” to her and the whole thing with her like babysitting Leo as a kid wtf.

- They have a METAL DRAGON. How cool is that?? Very steampunk of them, 10/10, I was just as sad as Leo when it got destroyed.

- Zeus didn't even make an appearance and he was being a dick anyways, wow.

- Also really enjoyed seeing Aphrodite and Hephestus again, so interesting to see them from this new perspective, the interactions with Piper and Leo were very engaging to read, and surprisingly touching.

- Also, can NOT believe we never got a joke or something about the fact that Aphrodite and Hephestus are married, and therefore Piper and Leo are divine step-siblings. Missed opportunity.

- Also on that note, we see Aphrodite again and Eros is again not mentioned at all, are we ignoring him on purpose now Riordan?? No, like really, I would love to see him, please he is my favorite greek god and has such interesting concepts around him... (sorry needed to get that out).

- Anyways, the whole thing with the dead coming back was soo interesting, it was great to see Minos and Medea and Lycaon, and I am really curious to where all that leads.

- I was so happy when Thalia showed up, I thought I would never get to see her again. She and Jason being separated like that felt so tragic and unfair, them reuniting was def one of my favorite parts. 

-I love how many new gods we are exploring.

- The final battles were pretty cool, again, I am not sure what it is, but the stakes feel so much higher now.

- Piper my girl I already want to see more of her, I loved the relationship with her dad and her powers are so cool, and I love how reflexive her pov was. (

- Jason I felt was more on the side, probably because of the whole stolen memories thing, but it was still very cool to see his personality define itself subtly as he regained his memories, and he is just such a nice noble guy, and I get attached very easily to that kind of characters.

- In general, I love how different the three of them are and the dynamic they develop, they are so wholesome and fun, I am already dying to see more of them.

- Wait, are we really going to Greece now???!!

- The whole book I spend stressed for the well-being of Percy, and audibly gasped when I understood what the exchange meant... omg what a way to end the book, I am beyond excited to see more!

-Overall I really really loved this book, I love the feeling on it, just warm 2000s fantasy, reminded me of how old animated movies felt when I was a kid, I think that is the best I can describe it hahah. I dont know, it gave me a timeless chilhood feel I really enjoyed, I must say this narration was more on my line than the one in Percy Jackson.

-Anyways, excited to keep reading, hope it wont take as long to read the next one!
