Like, I'm not personally a member of the lil Eclipse meow meow club. Like if he set a baby on fire and ate it then MAYBE it would make a little more sense. But like. I'm one of those ppl who think the equalist Asami plot for TLOK likely wouldn't have played out that well. I get why peeople want it -- giving Asami simply more to do is always a plus, and plus grey morality is interesting in characters, plus we get to flesh out the equalist movement as it is quite sympathetic.' The problem I have is that committing to a true double agent story takes time and I just don't think TLOK has it, and could easily fumble it. Plus I'm not that bothered about enemies to lovers, and I think Asami's 'redemption' arc would be seen as Zuko-lite.

So my suggestion to develop Asami more, but keep the story relatively uncomplicated for such a busy series with many elements in it:

-- Asami is an equalist sympathiser, not a full blown equalist.

-- She doesn't hit Mako with her moped. Instead, Mako and Bolin put an ad in the paper asking for sponsors. Who drops by, Hiroshi and Asami Sato! Asami accompanies her father as she is a bit suspicious of the probenders, sees probending as a farce. She's angry as benders killed her mother. But Hiroshi wants to sponsor the team, says some spiel about it being good business, gets Mako on side like the show.

-- Hiroshi is an equalist like the show. He decides to sponsor the Fire Ferrets as it gives him in an in on the probending world and the arena that he can report back to Amon.

-- Asami and Mako and Bolin spend some time together. She's suspicious but at some point prior to Hiroshi's reveal her and Mako have a talk. She vents about bending that she knows not every bender is evil but bending took away her mum. Mako says the same thing, bending took away his mother. But bending helped protect his little brother as they had nothing else to rely on. This helps Asami put somethings into perspective a bit-- as I think the discussion of opression in this universe cannot be solely limited to bending, it has to include class as well.

-- Like the show she is still fairly kind.

-- Mako and Asami do not date in book 1, but there is maybe some attraction between each other, but with Asami's bending reservations there is no chance for an immediate attraction in canon. Korra is still jealous of Asami just because she's beautiful and captures Mako's attention. I'm going to keep this version fairly similar to canon so Mako and Korra still date at the end of the series.

-- Asami still invites Korra and Bolin and Mako to her house when the arena is shut down as she's a nice person. Korra is like OWO at Asami. But then she finds an equalist glove in the house-- who would have that unless you're an equalist? And she and Mako muse that it would make sense if it's Future Industries tech, and since Asami lives in the house and has voiced reservations about bending before, it would make sense if she's the equalist and even making them.

-- Asami is heartbroken that her friends would suspect her like that. She's interviewed and released due to lack of evidence. At some point Mako and Korra and Bolin find the secret passageway, Hiroshi is revealed. LIke in canon, she makes the choice to side with her new friends. They apologise to her for doubting her and she forgives them.

The rest plays like book 1 canon (but with less love triangle stuff) and we could spend more time on the ordinary non-bending citizens being victimised by the police.

The reason I like this is that we get a more developed equalist subplot. Asami is kind, but she's wary of bending, and how it can hurt people. It's complicated. If the rest of the show supports that, then Asami is seen as a bit more complicated and reserved than just kind and perfect. She's a bit short-sighted in terms of her wealth giving her privilidge.

I think for the rest of the series, to give Asami more flaws and depth post book 1 you can a) play up her privilege and wealth and b) play more into her insecurities. Book 2 does show that she's worried about literally running Future Industries as a CEO. Instead of the show where her problems are fixed by a man (Bolin) punching Varrick, instead we can see her POV more and how worried she is, more time is spent on her handing over the company, and she also gets the chance to bring Varrick to justice. She can still date Mako and realise he's not right for her. She dates Mako in book 2 because he's there, comforting her, so that can still happen.

Book 3 and 4 can be similar to canon, just have more time with Asami. In book 3, we mention how she's angry and insecure and just needs a break from beng CEO, that she just doesn't get everything right-- which Korra validates her with and relates with her own struggles and pressures as the Avatar. They touch hands, look into each others eyes, they say they understand each other (the start of korrasami).

Maybe in book 4 she makes sure she's a voice for non-benders and intra-community relations, tying the plots from the start to the end together more. And more time spent on her loss of Korra and her anger at her Dad.

Idk. Maybe I just don't see the solution to Asami being underwritten is to put her into an enemies to lovers plot. There's plenty there in the whole series to build off whilst keeping her 'good' and relatively uncomplicated.

Main boy :) because of course he is. Yuma's now an orange cat. Firestar was the name of Number One, and Rusty (canonically Fire's old house cat name, I'm not calling them kittypets I'm sorry) was the name of the trainee he very politely borrowed his identity for.

Makoto Kagutsuchi -> Scourge

In wc canon, Scourge is also Firestar's half-brother (but they don't ever knooow) and they both kill each other + he's canonically stated to be VERY short like one of the smallest cats in the series. After the cloning, Makoscourge painted his fur completely black except for a one white paw (for the aesthetics. or maybe I'll just give Fire a white paw as well, kinda like Yuma's and Makoto's lil ahoges), started wearing the "OwO" mask, the dog tooth studded shrimp color collar, the fucking blood dyed amv bangs, the dog tooth reinforced claws........ The former CEO took him to hot topic for the first time in his life and he was fucking MESMERIZED none of them knew what they have brought upon themselves by this single act. He is a very silly man, lost in the whimsy. When his mask gets pulled off in the Mystery Labirynth, his face is just not dyed at all and it's just ginger with green eyes just like Rusty's/Firestar's/Yuma's/whatever.

Shinigami -> Spottedleaf

In canon, Spottedleaf does infamously end up haunting Firestar's dreams as a ghost to send him cryptic visions and furiously make out with him in front of his pregnant wife, he did have a crush on her before she died and I'm pretty sure she was retconned into reciprocating it was real bad and then they double killed her so Fire won't have to choose between her and his wife in heaven it was REAL bad uhh. I still like her though. I can get you out of the narrative girl just take my hand.... She can be the weirdgirl incarnate she was always meant to be. I wanted to say something else but then I realized holy shit I'm just tweaking her into Bonefall rewrite Spottedleaf am I... What can I say it IS peak Spottedleaf.

Yomi Hellsmile -> Tigerstar

Also extremely obvious. He is evil and has immaculate sexual tension between the protag whoops sorry I forgot literally only me and like 2 other people here ship Yuma and Yomi uhh anyway. While it does fit I'm a little dissapointed that Yomi/Tigerstar is gonna be losing so much of his cringe charm..... Like, say goodbye to deeply unserious insecure prettyboy toothpick Yaoi with silly little insults such as "umbrella sewing machine man operating hand hook car table" and how do I even describe all of this in less than 3 paragraphs. Now for an assigned role I'm way more cool with >:)))) for an outrageously long while I had trouble with whether Martina should be Sasha or Goldenflower, fool I was, until I remembered Leopardstar fucking exists. She is literally perfect like I cannot state this enough. AND canonically she was later retconned to have feelings for Tigerstar but I hate to acknowledge it how dare you massacre Lep like that. She can still be his gf alongside vice director though, she's just engaging in acts of deceit whilst putting opioids in his food and trying her darndest to convince herself she's actually 100% in control of the situation before she's dragged to the cube dimension and has a brief "are we the baddies" moment. I don't think she still resigns from being a peacekeeper though Leopardstar 100% would take that fucking promotion the moment she's offered it and a year later when she' done feeling guilty regresses back into being a violent asshole she has learned NOTHING❤️

Fake/Hitman Zilch -> Darkstripe

So many dissapointments happening here sigh..... This one was obvious and honestly the only valid option for FZilch aside from maybe Nightwhisper or Blackfoot? Anyway, the downsides: one, Darkstripe will never be as cool as fake Zilch he thrives on being a cringe mistreated lickspittle. Two, he's definitely not one of Tigerstar's "closest advisors (🏳️‍🌈)" whilst Dark is pretty obsessed Tiger does not give a shit and considers him a looooooser boooo lameee fuck you *canonically swats him away with his tail that one scene*. But, I mean, at least the toxic yaoi became an entire new category of toxic.

Swank Catsonell -> Brokenstar

Pure vibes. It just fits. He employs small children and makes them fight to the death in his office for glory

In canon, another one of Tigerstar's lackeys that didn't know about his crimes and when he found out he immediately left. I thought he was not evil enough to be Seth at first, but it kinda fits and he does make up for it in his cringe value and being noted to be a coward, though that may have been just Fire's opinion. Also, with all the bunny Seth Burrows jokes, I'd like to mention Longtail got his eyes clawed by a rabbit so hard he went blind so do with that what you will

Guillaume Hall -> Russetfur

Aaaand this is where I started having trouble with the remaining peacekeepers. Eventually I settled on Russetfur & Blackfoot/Blackstar for Guillaume and Dominic, because I like this danger duo I and some of the fandom completely made up about them. It's okay, the authors don't know you like we do...... While Blackstar did have a higher rank and Russet was his deputy, I do think she still had at least an equal amount of power as him, they're buddies pair bonded for life Blackstar is nodding respectfully to whatever incomprehensible wisdom she's sharing

Dominic Fulltank -> Blackfoot/star

In canon, started out as a murderous henchman of two major equally murderous evil dictators, before they both died and he finally got that boss promotion he always wanted, then he got ruined by the, you guessed it, retcons, but I don't like to be reminded of his atrocity of a novella. And she does seem cool enough in order to deserve to be Halara Nightmare.

In canon, Graystripe is Fire's silly goofy boybestie when they're young, then he starts secretly dating Silverstream - hold on i can't fuvking take tjis im making myself hot cocoa again bye. Ok it's done let's see if that makes me feel something. As I was saying he's dating this cat and she's from a rival Clan so that's illegal forbidden love and then she dies during childbirth and he leaves his own Clan for a while to raise their babies there but then he gets exiled and goes back to his own and then his kids almost get publically executed for being half-clan so he and his buddies rescue them. And then he gets abducted by humans and meets this new gal called Millie and they start dating and then she gives birth to his new babies and then a tree falls on one of them. I'm pretty sure Fire was also pretty gay for that guy. Uh, anyway. I think he fits the bill because of his goofy charm but also it's pretty disturbing to imagine any iteration of Desuhiko actually getting bitches

Fubuki Clockford -> um. uh. Silverstream?

Silverstream, in canon, is the only daughter of Crookedstar, the leader of RiverClan, and is (implied to not having a problem with) getting various privileges because of this. Fits with Fubuki's rich timelord parents, plus light blue aesthetic, and a few other things which are hard to articulate. Only thing is that she's generally way more headstrong and impulsive than Fubuki showed to be, could "bend her father to her will with little effort", and disrespects the law if it's stupid to her which, queen shit. I think she'll play a lot of little pranks with her time powers, and devote her free time/time with YumaRusty when he's accused of terrorism crimes (but that's just unrestrained summer fun anyway) to absolutely decimate any peacekeepers they come across with some looney tunes shit

Vivia Twilight -> I'll be honest I have no fucking idea

The body hair, the claws and even the growls in his deep voice - it all made Melissa not want to fight, but rather give in to the equally primal urges he awakened in the woman.

"You can't hurt me," the woman reinforced her theory, a feminine hand going over to his face and softly caressing his visage in a reflection of his own touches. The brunette examined his features with her own eyes and the tip of her digits alike, sensing his breathing quickening and the added heat of the werewolf's intense gaze. Heidegger didn't fully believe her - he kept saying how he was a danger, to himself and others. Melissa should run away from one that was more beast than man.

And yet, the huntress dragged herself closer to him - seeking the body warmth he offered as if he was permanently feverish. Smaller frame fitting into his muscular one like they were made to embrace like that, the woman peered up to his face with a smile that was less on the gentle side and more on the teasing one; inching forward, Melissa was the one that kissed him first - lips against his, a tongue daring to wet his own and asking for entrance.

"Well, that was not entirely true," the woman murmured, keeping the lazy kissing up as well as she was able even in the middle of her whispered words, "You can't hurt me in a way I don't enjoy; I welcome your other side, Magnar. As long as I'm taking my own creation, you'll never fully lose your senses and wound me lethally," a dangerous gamble, surely, but one that their first time together had confirmed.

The moon was not yet full - enough to provide them with light and to just heighten his senses, but not transform. Smiling further, Melissa's tongue played with his, savoring the werewolf like a delicacy and having one of her hands going through the opening of his shirt. Once inside, the brunette slid a warm palm towards his chest and trailed the soft hair, capturing a nipple to torment.

"Do you want to test that theory again? Make love to me, Magnar. I promise that your teeth won't be sharp enough to tear through flesh - just enough to give me something to remember you by."

Aaaaah I have so many questions for the Android Therion AU. Ravus Industries has def used Therion for Less Than Legal activities and I wonder how much of their treatment of him skirts on the rights of an android as well (honestly in a capitalist hellscape I'm surprised they have any at all as much as there's a sense of 'we made you we own you forever unless you can afford to buy yourself outright')

That aside, I am *very worried* for Alfyn's safety as Ravus Industries tries to get Therion back. Like... they don't have issues killing if they use androids for assassinations. owo;;

Well, even in a capitalist hellscape there's civil rights lawyers. How far the rights of artificial lives go is...up in the air, at this point. Can they vote? Can they own property? Are they considered citizens? Do anti-discrimination and labor laws apply to them? Unclear, and probably varies between jurisdictions. Either way, androids have at least been around long enough at this point that they're not like, a chattel slave class outright. Also not super common, maybe one out of every 50 or 100 people is an android, but enough that it's a sizeable population, enough that they cannot be considered property outside of specific circumstances, and Therion happens to fall under that legal category.

Therion (and by extension Gareth) are officially and legally, despite having just as much going on upstairs as any human being, property of Ravus Industries. The paperwork was all filed beforehand, he's made with a specific purpose in mind and 'would pose a danger to others' if not under the control of the company, or they claim that he has no true intelligence and is therefore not sentient enough to qualify as a citizen, or something. I'm not gonna pretend I know enough about civil rights law to make up what those exceptions are, but just know that Ravus either fudged most of em or paid off some politicians to let them keep the whole thing hush-hush or both.

There's probably a good few sympathetic scientists and engineers who consider him fully human but unable to really do anything about his situation without jeopardizing their own. There's clearly others, like whoever wrote his file, who look at Therion and only see a tool. One that's helped Ravus Industries take down competitors and acquire their tech and research illicitly, but in this case one of the benefits of Therion being private property is that responsibility lies on the company, not him. Legally speaking, at least. I'm sure some of the less-sympathetic caretakers threaten to reprogram or scrap or replace his parts every time there's a mistake, because he's not a person, he can't learn, he's a machine who has defective parts.

At any rate, uh...Alfyn is definitely in trouble, lol. Like luckily he's still a country boy who can handle himself (Still has swarthy carpenter genes and experience with an axe, probably has a shotgun or whatever the 31st century equivalent would be), and magic is probably still a thing in the 'sufficiently advanced science' way (still thinking about how osvald just does math so hard it makes fire. baller), but ultimately the one thing that's keeping him safest is the fact that all of Therion's remote activation and tracking parts were disabled or removed after his initial escape. That's it. Ravus wants to turn Therion into a Homing Murderbot so bad so they can just retrieve him very easy so they can make him. idk. steal whatever the Wyndhams are doing or murder union organizers or something. The Fantasy Pinkertons are absolutely on his ass.

Luckily Alf at least has his trusty repair van and mobile engineering kits, as well as his usual irresistible charm that nets them allies wherever they go. Ravus Industries is a well-known company that employs a lot of people, but, uh. So are Nestle and Apple, if you catch my drift here. And it's not like they're alone, either! Tressa knows enough about how businesses and boards of investors work to predict what Ravus is gonna try, Olberic and Cyrus together have enough practical and theoretical knowledge of tactics to make for very effective planners, H'aanit knows how to live off the grid and hide your tracks and is the only member of the party who can wield a shotgun with more precision than Alfyn. Ophilia and Prim are also there, idk what they do, Prim is better with diplomacy and has less qualms with muder than Therion and Ophilia is probably very good at finding them allies or places to lay low (what are you going to do, say no to a bishop???).

I have MANY thoughts. some of them related (Cordelia may or may not be a C-suite at Ravus and is very conflicted on what to do about the situation bc she thinks the robot is hot and should go free but knows the practical use he has to the company. either way therion doesnt like her) some of them not (prim has her own goals and possible beef with Ravus but keeps getting distracted by h'aanit who is a lethally hot butch lesbian) but. im having a lot of fun thinking about the whole thing. heehee hoohoo funny sci-fi au

🩸 - if confronted with a monster, would they romance them, befriend them, fight them, run away, kill them? something else?

"Flowers"– Run away. She doesn't have the power nor the bravery to fight, but she'd help people to run away too and try to protect them if she sees them.

"The Watch" –Kill it, kill it with fire. He's trigger happy and too prideful to think he cannot take it down. Probably the one who survives pretty far but has the quickest death in a horror movie.

"Whispers" –Try to befriend them. If it's a monster is alive, and if it's alive it has feelings, right? Maybe the monster is as scared too, so they'd try to talk to it and reason.

"The Seer" –Depends on the type of monster. If it's a danger to others, cannot be reasoned with and cannot be left alone, she'd try to fight it, possibly kill it if there's no other choice. If the monster is too powerful, she'd run away, and if it wasn't that dangerous, she'd try to befriend it. Whatever the case, she'd assess the situation first.

"Mother" –As long as it doesn't mess with her family, she wouldn't even bother looking at it. But if it does, she'd instantly go into killing mode. No questions asked, just death.

"The Ring" –Similar to the Seer, it depends. Their first instinct would be to fight it, but if proven that it's too dangerous or not dangerous at all, they'd either run or stop fighting. If none are proven, they'd fight until they win, and then start asking questions.

Hi hi! I've been reading fits for awhile now! (you might see my comments sometimes too lol) and I've been really into rediscovering my middle school favorite YA series, the hunger games recently.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, but I keep thinking of the kamados as people from District 12. Maybe it's bc they sold coal, and D12 is the coal district. Zenitsu might be from 3 or 6, Inosuke I'm not sure about, and if you are familiar with the series I'm curious to know what district ayame would be from. Muzan is probably the equivalent of president snow and the demon slayer corps is probably the rebellion.

I feel like both tanjiro and ayame would volunteer for the hunger games if their siblings got reaped, although tanjiro wouldn't be able to volunteer for nezuko which is sad :( same ayame for her brother.

If you're familiar with the series, do you think anyone from the fits idiot squad would be a hg victor? Also I think if ayame and tanjiro came from tge same district we'd have something very similar to the everlark "star crossed lovers" strategy lol.

- if i were to write a hunger games au, ayame and tanjirou probably wouldn't be from the same district TwT the same way that i agree the kamados would be from district 12, the higuchis would be from district 2 bc of the whole blacksmith thing

- but maybe. *maybe* they were originally from district 12 generations ago. maybe the higuchis and the kamados are intertwined, which is why tanjirou is given his father's earrings, and ayame wears wears her mother's tama kanzashi. they've been taught since birth to look out for those heirlooms - bc that's how they know they'll have an ally should they become tributes

- of course, it's been years - decades even - since a kamado and a higuchi end up in the same games

- until one day, takeo is reaped and tanjirou takes his place. and misaki is reaped, and ayame immediately volunteers in her place

- the wheels start turning then. or maybe they were already in motion, but there's a kamado and a higuchi as tributes and the rebellion realises this can only play to their advantage

- ayame notices tanjirou first, but tanjirou is the one that approaches her first. he walks over to her, swallows nervously and whispers, "higuchi-san?" and ayame turns to him with warmth in her gaze and offers a nod and a demure, "kamado-san."

- they're both gentle people. both sixteen and both the only volunteers who took the place of their younger siblings. when the cameras catch them together, the capitol sighs about a forbidden love and that's when the rebellion digs their teeth into both teens

- kyoujurou is, of course, the mentor for district 2. he laughs loudly and easily, but there's a sharpness to his smile that makes the other mentors wary. everyone remembers how he used fire to win his games, and it shocks no one to realise that ayame is just as good with flames as he is

- zenitsu is from district 5, and inosuke is from district 10. kanao is from district 11! and genya from district 3. for obvious reasons, none of them are dying dammit. i can't live like this anymore, there's already so much angst in kny canon

- let's just say that all of the mentioned districts are all working together for the rebellion. idc if it's not canon, none of them are dying in this

- genya, ayame and kanao are of course favourites to win. ayame bc she's from a career district, kanao bc she's surprisingly good with a scythe - but maybe not, since she's from an agricultural district. genya bc his brother is a victor, and no one would expect someone as protective as sanemi to not arm his lil brother with every important knowledge he has

- the hashiras would be previous victors for sure. kyoujurou for district 2, tengen from district 1. sanemi is of course from district 3 with genya, and that means shinobu is the victor and mentor for district 11. obanai would have to be the mentor for district 10 on account of, y'know, kaburamaru. livestock yeah but u know. (also an inosuke & obanai pair is just hysterical) himejima could be a victor for district 2 too, along with mitsuri cos haha kyoujurou n mitsuri amirite. that just leaves giyuu (district 4) and muichirou (district 7).

- does this mean aoi is either a tribute from district 4 or also one of shinobu's adopted sisters....... idk

- tanyame could absolutely do an everlark star crossed lovers strategy definitely, although ayame would have to be the one to do the whole lying thing like peeta had to

- something about how she managed to fall for one of her tributes during training and everyone knows it's tanjirou cos they did get pretty close during that time

- also i can totally see ayame sneaking into the district 12 dorms (with mentor urokodaki's help and also kyoujurou's) so she can apologise for the whole thing, but she had to do it

- katniss, i know, was an unwilling figurehead the whole time, but i can see tanjirou as being more proactive. maybe urokodaki-san has already read him in on the whole act, with no bullshit. they're going to use the kamado-higuchi alliance after all and it's only fair that they're both aware of the roles they have to play

- if we're talking about a 75th quarter quell games au, then all of the kmbk squad would absolutely be past victors. and that would make things even more amazing bc they'd have all at least met once during their victor tours

- ngl hunger games au makes me sad, but the idea of tanyame battle couple still being a thing is so chef kiss

Clint wheezes out a laugh through his gag, beyond glad these idiots had decided to put their “threatening” phone call on speaker. This is prime entertainment, right here, watching them shit their pants over the Winter Soldier’s threats. If he could, Clint would be grinning like a maniac. Probably telling Bucky he’ll hold his flower for him. As it is, he’s already been beat to hell, keeps wrinkling his nose in an effort to relieve the itch of blood drying between it and his upper lip. Clearly, he’s much less concerned about his predicament than he probably should be.

But really, these fuckers were stupid enough to capture an Avenger. The Winter Soldier’s sort of boyfriend, even if they aren’t exactly public with it yet. They deserve every bit of hell that’s about to rain down on them. Clint just wishes he could see Bucky’s murder face right now. He’s sure it’s a sight to behold. “You’re all fucked,” he tries to say through the gag, trying to grin again. It comes out a garbled mess, but it’s enough to get him backhanded hard enough to make him see stars and groan, only to start laughing again a moment later.

What Every Adventurer Needs: Others

SO! This is something that came about because of a Thing that happened on a server I'm on. Someone asked us to talk about any magical/named items our characters have, so I went down the list, and they wanted details on the following: Weapon, Armor, Talisman, Enchanted Item, and Arcane Item (where applicable for those.)

Sadly I have to break this up into sections as it turns out for SOME asanine reason Tumblr only allows 30 images per post… so imma do it by Avalon, then Savage United, then Others.

But yes… HEY COBRAK! IS THIS ENOUGH FOR YA, YA BOOPER?! OwO

Also, sharp eyed readers will notice my draenei, Aziguni, is absent from this list. Thats because when I started writing her stuff I realized she doesn't actually use anything magical or special. All her gear is just simple and easy to replace if needed. Really she's the most practical person I have.

Leza, Apprentice Fire Mage

Weapon: Alexstraszite Wand. Leza is an apprentice mage and, like many apprentices, her tool is a wand. Used by beginner mages by and large, they help those still learning to control their powers how to direct and channel their magic. Her own was crafted by Jaie and Nitika. Jaie found a large Alexstraszite and cut it into a long stick-like shape and Nitika fashioned a length of writhebark into a handle, enchanting the wand to help the would-be magician control her magics.

Armor: Basic clothing. Leza’s clothes are simply what she feels most comfortable in. She does wear glasses that Jaie crafted as well after Nelen noticed that she suffers from the same eyestrain that he does (reading only by candle or torchlight does a number on one’s vision over the years,) but there’s nothing inherently magical about it save for one piece of her outfit (see below.)

Talisman: Idol of the Spell-Weaver. Recently the Azure Archives fell prey to Samantha’s estranged sister, Alalestria. In a failed bid to claim the void elf’s head, she froze the blue dragons there solid using her own empowered tools and the power of the Archives itself and attempted to channel the raw arcane energy into a spell that would result in the rogue’s demise. While Nelen fought her on the archive’s rings, Leza used an enchanted gemstone that all members of Avalon and Savage United carry to contact their allies for aid. Those allies immediately sought out Kalecgos, who had been in Valdrakken at the time, and alerted him to Alalestria’s actions. The Aspect of Magic opened a portal to the Archives and asked them to keep her busy as he flew there with all haste. Rather than face a furious aspect, Alalestria fled the Archives in defeat. As thanks for her warning, Kalec gifted her a large chunk of Malygite that Jaie fashioned into a dragon statue to use as a talisman.

Enchanted Item: Bracers of Silence. Leza’s awakening to magic went off with a bang, literally. She lost control of her magic and blasted her family’s cart apart from the inside out. While the cart was able to be repaired, she was terrified of losing control like that again as her mother had narrowly missed serious injury in the blast. Nelen, Jaie, and Nitika worked together to fashion her a set of bracers with inscribed malygite stones in them. When Leza fears her magic running wild she speaks a specific word and the bracers enforce a magical null upon her, silencing her magic entirely. She will often invoke this before bed each night, incase a bad dream causes her to panic in her sleep. Leza has complete control of this effect, and cancelling it is as simple as saying the counterspell (it won't literally silence her) or just removing the bracers.

Arcane Item: Apprentice’s Spellbook. After her awakening and being set upon by Fyrakk’s Primalist followers, having fled Valdrakken in a panic when she saw the destruction her magic had caused, Nelen took her under his wing as his apprentice. His first gift to her was a spellbook, copied from his old one he used as a student in Old Dalaran before the city’s destruction in the Third War, but with several additions of techniques he’d learned to maintain emotional balance and serenity from Pandaria. The inside front cover has the following written there: “To my apprentice. We all make mistakes, what is important is that we learn from them. – N. Fullmoon”

Dissonantia, Witch of Blackwald Forest

Weapon: Blade of Sacrificed Souls. Once an ordinary kitchen knife, years of using it for her fel magic rituals have twisted this simple tool into a reality warping weapon. This dagger is the same one she used to sacrifice four people, including a helpless infant, to summon Az’arad to Azeroth during the Cataclysm and to cut out the still-beating heart of a Stormwind guardsman to summon Cenoon some years later. Seeing such bloodshed and fel magic has given the dagger the ability to tear holes between Azeroth and the Twisting Nether, allowing Dissonantia to summon her minions wherever she wishes. She slashes the air, reality sunders, and in come the demons.

Armor: Robes of the Venthyr Sorceress. Dissonantia gained these robes during her time in Revendreth. While they are comfortable, well made, and enchanted… the worgen would be lying if she said she didn’t just really love the style.

Talisman: Sinstone of the Mad Duke. Dissonantia is a very old worgen, having lived well beyond her natural lifespan. However, in her human form she was an elderly woman in her 80s. She did not become a warlock or learn how to extend her lifespan until she was well into old age and while the techniques taught to her by the imp, Quzgup, did extend her life… that was all it did. However, when the skies above Northrend were shattered by the Banshee Queen’s betrayal the imp revealed that Anima was the secret to restoring her youth that she had long sought. She needed a way to create anima she could consume however… and the Mad Duke Theotar had the techniques she needed. She played along with his desire for a teatime companion, acting as if she was his friend in the hopes that he would reveal the secret of anima. He refused to tell her at first, merely saying it was a ‘special secret’ between himself and his two dredger companions Gubbins and Tubbins, but once Dissonantia confirmed that his anima-infused tea had restored her lost youth she sought out his Sinstone and used it to force Theotar to give her the techniques she needed. Theotar quickly gave in, the recitation of his sins in life causing him tremendous physical and psychological pain, and surrendered his recipe book and plans for an unfinished tea engine to the worgen sorceress.

Enchanted Item: Heart of Aartox. During the Legion’s invasion, Dissonantia happened upon a portal leading to the sanctum of an eredar warlock who had defected from the Legion and fled to pursue his own goals. After a prolonged battle she succeeded in killing the alien sorcerer and claiming the sanctum and it’s treasures as her own. She keeps his severed, reanimated head next to her throne as a trophy, the eredar’s lips sewn securely shut… but his heart she kept as well. She hasn’t had a chance to make use of it yet, but the fel energies it contains are tremendous.

Arcane Item: Dissonantia’s dagger doubles as her arcane item, allowing her to summon swarms of demons to combat her foes.

Gremori Autumnleaves, Kal'dorei Felsworn

Weapon: Felfire Knuckledusters. Rather than warglaves, Gremori prefers a pair of fel-infused fist weapons for up close and very dirty combat. Ever the adrenaline junkie, she loves wading into combat and raising fel with whatever happens to be nearby. Her fist weapons can erupt in felfire during a fight, which can cause tremendous damage to an unprepared foe.

Armor: Scales of the Felsworn. Gremori eschews chest armor as the fel energies from her tattoos will ignite most any materials that aren’t either fireproof or protected by magic… but a closer examination would show that she really hardly needs it. Her transformation into a demon hunter caused her to grow a sturdy layer of scales over parts of her body, acting as natural armor. She does wear a pair of sturdy spiked gauntlets and boots however.

Talisman: Gremori’s Diary. Not really a talisman, but where Gremori writes down any tidbits of demonic lore she can lay hands on. She is, to be totally honest, a big geek when it comes to anything fel which is what prompted her to become a demon hunter to begin with. She actually was never one of the Illidari herself, infact she hates them as when they found out her motives for wanting to become a demon hunter they chased her away from the Black Citadel and its really just blind luck they didn’t kill her outright.

Enchanted Item: Annihilan Idol. Before she teamed up with Dissonantia, Gremori was in the service of a pit lord named Granthox. She kept a memento from this time in the form of a potent statuette imbued with powerful fel energies that acts as a sort of reusable hand grenade. She invokes it’s power, tosses it at whatever has her ire, and it explodes in a cataclysmic blast of felfire! Somehow the statue always survives and finds it’s way back into her pouch.

Arcane Item: Gremori is a fel-infused elf and has no need of an arcane item other than her weapons.

Jeemjazo Redmane & Murgly Jim

Weapon: Cutlass and Shipman’s Axe. Really these aren’t anything special. Sturdy and well-used, but otherwise just an ordinary pair of weapons any seafarer might carry.

Armor: Pirate’s Garb. Jeemjazo spent most of his life as a cabin boy to a crew of ruthless Bloodsail Pirates and when he left he just kept the clothes that he wore on the ship in lieu of any others.

Talisman: Pirate Dice. Jeemjazo found these on Saltfang’s body after he killed him following the ship’s crash into the coast of Dustwallow Marsh. The dice seem like ordinary bone dice, but instead of numbers the sides depict things like treasure chests, shark fins, cannons, skulls, and the like. They’re often used for games of chance, and some pirates believe that if you roll them before a big fight you’ll have luck during the upcoming melee.

Enchanted Item: Darkmoon Deck. After seeing Laurelgosa’s deck, Jeemjazo begged her for one of his own. The amused Dracthyr consented and crafted him a similar deck, though with a box depicting swirling desert sands rather than flames like her own. She had been unaware of Jeemjazo’s distaste for Vol’dun when she did this, having only spoken to Sekhi about their homeland before, but the former pirate didn’t have the heart to tell her and accepted it without comment.

Arcane Item: Red Coral Wand. This is actually not Jeem’s, but that of his companion Murgly Jim. In times of great need, Jim can use the wand to open a portal to a realm of the Shadowlands known as ‘The Great Ocean’ and summon forth the souls of his ancestors to swarm anyone threatening him and Jeemjazo. However… he can only speak murloc and has no way of telling Jeemjazo that this is his doing. Jeemjazo usually panics when it happens.

Alalestria Winstersky, Sin'dorei Magister and Noblewoman

(NOTE: Alalestria's section is going to be redone as, given several items I was able to procure from the Trading Post, she looks rather different now. Feel free to skip her entry for now.)

Weapon: Chillheart. One of the Three Treasures of House Wintersky, the dagger Chillheart has been used as a spell foci since the house’s inception and is a battle-tested and very potent tool for any frost mage… but in the hands of a member of House Wintersky it is especially deadly.

Armor: Battle Robes of the Sin’dorei Magister. Worn by all those who hold the office of Magister in Silvermoon City, the robes are layered with arcane protections and made from durable yet flexible materials to protect their wearer from more mundane attacks.

Talisman: The Sapphire of House Wintersky. A blue gemstone set in gold, worn as a pendant about one’s neck. This gemstone is proof of her heritage and was the key to unlocking a vault in the House Wintersky Estate where the rest of her equipment (save her robes) was waiting for her.

Enchanted Item: Soul of Ice. This silver crown is set with an enchanted gemstone designed to enhance the wearer’s ability to work Frost-Aspected Arcane Magic by several degrees. As Alalestria was already considered a prodigy among the elves, this makes her even more potent a foe. The metal always feels cold to the touch, as if it had been sitting in a snowbank, even after being worn for hours. (NOTE: After the release of the mage-specific shoulders and headpiece at the Trading Post in December 2023 this has since been retconned into the Tears of Ice (see A Brief Interlude.) Thats right, I can retcon my stuff too! Deal with it!)

Arcane Item: The Tome of House Wintersky. A book of collected secrets of frost magic penned by the various heads of the house down through the generations. Within are spells that no other mage has ever seen, kept secret from all those who were not of the noble line. This has actually caused the head of House Wintersky to be the target of theft and assassination more than once in the past by jealous rivals hoping to lay claim to the secrets within.

Nyloc Athel, Chronomancer of Suramar City

Weapon: The Last Moment. “Every moment wounds, the last one kills.” Nyloc (ahem) borrowed this weapon from the Bronze Dragonflight to learn of their secrets, and one thing that he learned was that this is a very deadly weapon indeed. The blade’s touch conjures up visions of just that, the fated ‘last moment’ of a person’s life. In that instant they get a glimpse of how they will die and are sometimes so wracked with shock and horror that they cannot fight back… and a second cut reveals that the moment has changed to the present one when this happens.

Armor: Robes of the Shal’dorei. Nyloc is a Noble of Suramar and wants to make sure everyone damn well knows it. His robes are kept immaculate by magic and protected by his own spells.

Talisman: Idol of Infinity. A statue not unlike those crafted to resemble the other dragons… except this one is a deep almost obsidian black with veins of white running through it. Infact, one might comment it resembles the members of the Infinite Dragonflight…

Enchanted Item: Time in a Bottle. A reinforced flask made of enchanted stone, kept in his pouch at his hip. Rather than a beverage it contains glowing particles of sand. By opening the bottle the sand swirls around Nyloc and reverses time several moments, sometimes just long enough to undo what would have otherwise been a fatal injury.

Arcane Item: The Perfect Chance. A crystallized moment in time symbolizing the one opportunity, the flap of the butterfly’s wings, the very instant when victory can be snatched from the jaws of defeat. Nyloc uses it’s power sparingly as too much can draw the ire of the Bronze Dragons, but it can tweak circumstances just enough in his favor by altering the timeline to coincide with ones where fortune favors him over his foes. Their weapons break, their blows go wide, their injuries were worse than they first thought… and he has his perfect chance to defeat them.

No matter how long it takes, you never get tired of waiting for your lover.

He’s gonna come back, you thought to yourself, tapping your fingers as you continue to glance outside from your window in hopes of spotting the familiar figure of the man you swore to be with forever and always. He promised he would come today.

It’s a habit that whenever you receive a letter that Capitano will be coming back home from his duties, you’d immediately come to the living area and wait for your husband to come home all night after you finished your activities.

You spend your time either by reading a book or rereading the letters he wrote to you whenever he’s away, preparing a meal for both you and him in hopes of passing the time, looking around the area with anticipation, or even taking a few naps on the sofa until you hear something outside. 

No matter what, the first thing you want to do when he comes home is to finally be in his arms after so long. 

Your legs begin to sway back and forth as you try to contain your excitement in seeing him, your heart beating so fast at the thought of finally seeing him again after so many days. 

You could care less if you’re acting like a teenager going through their first love, could anyone blame you for missing your lover so much after countless letters and longing?

Your eyes brighten when you spot a familiar figure walking towards the gates of your well-guarded home, causing you to jump off from the sofa and rushedly head towards the front door excitedly while putting your coat on. 

He’s here! At last!

As he entered through the now opened gates did you lose your patience and bolt out from the door, not caring about the fact that your outfit is entirely not suited for the cold winters of Snezhnaya despite having a coat on you. 

Seeing you running towards him caused the harbinger to spread his arms wide as an invitation for you to hug him. 

As soon as you hug him, you feel warmth.

No amount of fire could compare how warm Capitano’s hugs are. 

“Love.” He spoke up, hugging you back with a hum. “You’re going to get cold from the weather.” He adds, referring to your clothing.

You hug him tighter, a sign that you don’t want to let go just yet. “Sorry, I was too excited.” You replied, your voice muffled from burying your face on him. 

You hear him sigh before you instantly feel his large coat around you, causing you to be completely enveloped around him and feel warmer than ever. “Be careful next time, I wouldn’t want you to freeze to death.” 

You laugh lightheartedly, endeared by his caring self. It’s not everyday someone would see a harbinger being so soft around someone. 

“...I miss you, by the way.” You mumbled, closing your eyes as you continued to hug him with no intention of letting go for a while.

It seems the same goes for him, and you feel him pulling you even closer to him. 

“...I miss you more.” 

At this moment, as well as the previous moments like these, you’re reminded that no matter how long it takes, you never get tired of waiting for your lover.
