skip to loafer chapter 72 analysis // spoilers
“who shall be the one to mend this lonely soul?”: the counterpoint and similarities between the dreamer and the desolate and how to move forward even with the feeling that there is nowhere to belong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when i opened comic days, i confess that kanechika was the last person i was expecting to see. so much so that, thanks to this confusion, i first thought that the chapter would take a completely opposite direction to what i was expecting, which was the school play. but i soon understood what sensei was trying to do and the overlap she chose for this very important moment.
it’s not new for sensei to intersperse two stories into one in order to develop one character or the other (or both) a little more. this mix of elements brings more life and support to the narrative, since the character is able to open up more when faced with something that is opposite or complementary to them. and here i believe that sensei decided to combine the two forms and gave kanechika the role of being the opposite and, at the same time, the complement to shima.
kanechika has always had a huge passion for cinema and theater. this has been evident since the first time he showed his homemade movies to his insistence that shima join the theater club. but, something that hasn't been explored in depth yet is the loneliness that comes with this passion. not everyone around you will always grow up having the same interests as you or feeling them to the same intensity. sometimes, especially for a child, it’s much easier to ignore the “different boy” than to try to understand what this cinema that he likes so much is all about.
but, even though he felt alone and couldn't really fit in with people his own age, something inside kanechika encouraged him to keep going, to try, until he found people who shared his passion or came face to face with something he had brought to life, understanding that everything he had gone through had led him there. seeing shima blossom on stage not only brought him a sense of pride for the kouhai he held in such high regard, but also the idea that he was indeed on the right path and that there were people in the world who were able to listen to what he had to say and who were able to consume his art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this insistence on what he loved, even if it hurted you, is the opposite of shima. the realization that your tastes, desires and dreams are valid and that you have the right to feel them would be the complement.
shima finally took the stage dressed as the monster he had always believed himself to be. and this becomes even more vivid considering the moments in the play that sensei thought were important to highlight, such as the monster's understanding of his loneliness, the forced isolation imposed on him and the understanding that the person closest to you, such as the one who raised you, will not always be responsible for curing the persistent pain of not belonging.
while kanechika sees his passion for theater shine with his own eyes, shima stands against the world. even though it is not him himself standing on stage, it is not his words but those of the monster, shima finally stands up to face everything that he swore was much greater than he could handle.
and, in contrast to everything, we have his own victor frankenstein waiting on the other side, with teary eyes and the fear of trying, once again, to connect with the monster. a mother drowning in the open wound sees, for the first time, her son blossom and live for himself, live for his ideals and passions, face his fears and move forward. her creation that she herself could not fix, the soul so sad.
however, next to her, there is someone who has the courage to say out loud what she so desperately wants: yuki does have the right to try one more time, to be honest with her son and listen to him with all her heart, to try not to rebuild something that is broken, but to forgive what cannot be undone and start over something that they can both build together, side by side, mother and son. she sees the child she raised forcing himself to be an adult from a very young age, giving him the chance to be young for the first time, to try to take control of what hurt him so much. why not try again, in a new play this time?
for the first time in years, they look into each other's eyes, completely raw, ready to face this new unknown. for the first time, she allows herself to praise her son, something she was so afraid of doing, with a great fear of putting an enormous pressure on his shoulders once again. and he allows himself to accept the hand that his mother extends, letting himself dive into this vulnerability that the monster gave him. not only that, but he also now shows a new interest in this family that was given to him, an enormous desire to belong, to be the older brother that his little brother admires so much, to be able to be someone who has frank conversations with his stepfather. shima and yuki are, for the first time, experiencing what could be a complete family.
Tumblr media
and in the midst of so many new beginnings, endings, goodbyes and new days to be lived, there is that one girl, who still waits for him in the same hallway, emanating the same light that welcomes him so much. letting himself be carried away by the feeling and embracing mitsumi once and for all is another step that shima takes in his favor, another step that he allows himself to take to finally be able to walk side by side with this person that he admires so much and finds so special. falling apart in her arms, not so that she can pick him up and rebuild him, but so that he can show her every little piece of himself.
the monster found not only someone who could mend his oh so lonely soul, but someone who would give him the strength to fight alone and for himself. mitsumi isn’t the saviour nor needs to be saved: she’s the light that guides him to find his own path and our courage. it was she who showed him how beautiful it is to be true to yourself and now that he has finally embodied this monster that haunts him so much, he can give himself the chance to walk side by side with her towards a new future.
how beautiful it is to be able to read such an incredible story about taking a chance on yourself and loving without regrets. we’re once again being able to experience another beautiful chapter and for that i’m so grateful.
before we go, can we also appreciate kanechika's shirt when he was a kid? he once wore a shirt with monsters on it only to later see a monster on stage. what a comeback, huh?
Tumblr media
thank you so much for reading and sorry for any gramatical mistakes 💛! please support sensei if you can! we will be on break next month thanks to the release of vol 12. excited to see what comes next!!!!!

👑 Your leader and deputy disappear into thin air, who takes over?
Hmm... maybe Mistlefrost? It would have to be an older, experienced cat that's well-liked and knows what they're doing. It helps that he's also friends with Wolfstar. If the clan wanted to go with someone a little younger, though (since Mistlefrost is elder aged) I could see them picking Hazelthorn.
Tumblr media
🌲Favorite location on the territory? The river split! It's a nice sandy area not too far from the Gathering area that gets a lot of sun. Probably nice and peaceful. If not there, then camp.
🍀Secret they’re hiding? Wolfstar is a pretty honest cat, I don't think she has many secrets. If anything, I think she just doesn't tell other cats just how much she enjoyed killing Ravenstar.
🎭 Does your clan have any specific traditions, rituals, or holidays? They give each other bugs as a way to ask another cat to be mates! It's a little old-fashioned, though, so not every couple will do it. Like bringing someone flowers on your first date. They also probably celebrate the first rain after Greenleaf, the first snow of Leafbare, that sort of thing, but nothing really big or organized, just eating a lot of food and relaxing type stuff.
⚰️ What are your clan’s death rituals? Pretty similar to the books. The body (if there is one) is dressed in nice-smelling herbs, all the loved ones are given as much time as they need to grieve, and the body will be taken away and buried. There's a cave a bit further up the mountain from the camp, which is where they bury their dead. Graves are marked with stones to avoid accidentally digging up another body when trying to bury someone.
😻Which cat would you steal to be your kittypet irl? Any and all of them. Somebody needs to TNR these animals immediately holy shit. (if i had to pick One i'd maybe pick Ripplefade. he looks so much like my irl cat it'd be funny)
❤️ Which character does the audience seem to love that you weren’t expecting? I feel like I'm always surprised by the random cats that everyone fixates on, but most recently maybe Sylvana? I understand it though. He's silly and I love him
Tumblr media
🪲What do they value the most? Silverbelly probably valued her family most, Stormsight his career as a medicine cat, and Sunwish... maybe her friendships. I'd say her dream to be a warrior, but I think she didn't have much, if any, hope for that.
👯 Wild circle of friends, or a few close ones? Who’s their best friend? I can't look at their relationships anymore (considering they are Dead) but from what I remember, Stormsight and Sunwish both had just a few close friends, and Silverbelly was very social. Silverbelly's best friend (besides Applebranch) was probably Maplestar. Sunwish's bestie was Goldenstar. For Stormsight I have unfortunately no idea, but I know he was close to his siblings.
Tumblr media
Family and fun, in that order.
Tumblr media
🍀 I mean. Jaystripe sees the ghost of her dead murderer father. Do you have to ask? She hasn't told a fucking Soul
🌙 Craneclaw's a pretty heavy sleeper. Her dreams are usually nonsensical, and she forgets most of them when she wakes up--nothing from Starclan yet
🪲 Fishstick probably values being a warrior over most things. It's been her dream since she was a tiny kit, and she's living it. She values her friendship with Sleepydawn as a close second, though.
✏️ Maybe Pebblefreeze? She's just so poofy
™️ Proabably Sleepydawn. He sucks and I like that in a character
🌠 After the Ravenstar incident, I have to imagine no lmao
🗣️ BLOSSOMFUR 100%. She loves to run her mouth and gossip and start rumors etc. Despite this, she's also an excellent secret-keeper if the situation calls for it, like when she found out about Pondshine.
💭 My favorites are always when people ship some random ass cats that I hadn't considered before together. I'd say it has a decent influence on me
Tumblr media
🌙 Heavy or light sleeper, what are their dreams like? Patchback is a pretty light sleeper, and doesn't dream much at all. She's gotta be ready to go at a moment's notice.
✨ What is their relationship with StarClan like? Not much of one, I guess? She believes in them and all (especially since witnessing Ravenstar's lives getting taken) but doesn't feel particularly connected.
🪲What do they value the most? Protecting the clan, whatever that may entail--Shrew is always very thorough on her border patrols, she does her best to catch as much prey as she can, and she'll always accept if someone asks her to babysit the kits. She wasn't born in Fallenclan, and is extremely grateful that they not only healed her wounds, but allowed her to stay and accepted her as one of their own.
🌷Quirks or other mannerisms? She's a people-pleaser. She'll almost always agree to something another cat proposes, and if she really really wants to say no, it's always very awkward and stuttering. She isn't great in social situations, especially not with cats she isn't close to.
🎨 Favorite Hobbies? Climbing, probably. Frozenfog acts like a very down-to-business no-nonsense cat, but her one 'frivolous' hobby is climbing trees and rocks just for the hell of it. She hopes to climb the split-stones some day.
🙀What do they fear the most? Sickness. It took her brother and she was there to witness every second of it.
🎯 What do their life goals look like? Deputy, Leader, Medcat, a family? Greenberry is a fairly ambitious cat, I think she'd like a bit of everything. She'd love to be deputy or leader some day, and she dreams of falling in love and raising a family. She'd probably prioritize the former over the latter, but she's a realist, too, and she recognizes it's not super likely. Doesn't stop her from trying to show off to Wolfstar and Flamefall though.
🐾 What do they think of nearby clans/groups? No strong thoughts. She was against the Fallenclan/Shallowclan war, and she's glad it's over, but she does hold a bit of resentment towards them considering how many Fallenclan cats died during it.
🍀Secret they’re hiding? Sometimes, Spottedshade considers leaving Shallowclan and going to be a Fallenclan cat instead, to be with Pondshine again. She's afraid it would break her mother's heart, though, so she stays, and makes do with seeing her brother at the gatherings.
🌧️ Favorite weather? She likes when it's cloudy and a little windy. Leaf-fall weather.
🌀Out of context spoilers/WIP?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🦌 Won't eat, probably not, but can't eat, yes. Fallenclan has plenty of deer on their territory, and though they may kill fawns, adult deer are much too big to be hunted. Eagles are hunted sometimes, but they're a very dangerous prey, and usually avoided.
🌟 Strongest Starclan connection is probably Feathersight. Strongest Dark Forest connection is Jaystripe.
💔 I wouldn't say complicated necessarily, but Wolfstar and Kestrelfeather's queerplatonic relationship makes me go feral fr. It could be read as complicated to an outsider ig
💘 Honestly I always kind of wanted Tangletail and Honeysong to get together
Tumblr media
⚔️ Who is the best and worst fighter in the clan? Best? Either Hazelthorn or Buzzardcry. Worst? Feathersight. He's built like a green bean.
Tumblr media
🎯 What do their life goals look like? Deputy, Leader, Medcat, a family? I could definitely see Rookfeather wanting to be leader some day. Starting a family is 50/50, though.
Tumblr media
🐀 Favorite Prey? Salmon. Nice strong flavor to wash away the taste of all the herbs he works with.

What is your opinion on the Beetlejuice 2 Dream Theory?
This theory?
My opinion is that it's very likely to be true. I walked away from the cinema extremely happy with all of the shippy moments—so happy I hadn't even considered theorising anything yet, however my first thought about the ending was, So it was all Lydia's dream?
I read through the post and was blown away by how much sense it made, but I think it helped push me to believe it when my friend sent me this
Tumblr media
My friend is not interested in theorising or shipping, and has no connection to the BJ fandom, he's just a horror fan. Yet his interpretation of the movie's ending was a summarised version of the whole dream theory. Isn't it far more romantic to imagine Lydia having spent her life with Betelgeuse, and he's indulging her with a dream of her own child? Considering they both have a 'psychic connection', I'm not convinced that Lydia hasn't been thinking about BJ just as much as he's been thinking about her.
This user pointed out both of Betelgeuse's love songs are by artists named Richard, conveniently the name of Lydia's previous partner. The same partner who was described as a horror fan that loved playing pranks, and dressed as a Beetlejuice lookalike for Halloween.
Tumblr media
Looks like Beetlejuice, acts like Beetlejuice—either Lydia is equally obsessed, or it's BJ projecting himself onto Lydia's human lover within the dream. Watching the movie with new eyes, I noticed in the "Later, fucker" scene that BJ is sitting in the same place Richard sat while working at the border control. "Astrid" herself has a name related to the celestial bodies, much like "Betelgeuse". You can either take this as a romantic parallel, or Tim is trying to show us that Richard's creation is based on Lydia's fixation with Beetlejuice.
Dream sequences often use characters to represent something within the dreamer's psyche. It's like an abstract analysis of the way that character thinks and feels. Astrid's sequence within the dream shows Lydia's material desires—it confirms everything was based off of what Lydia wanted, which included getting married to a 'monster' (in the sequence of events, Astrid marries a guy dressed as a vampire), and then gives birth to the Beetlebaby. I know in the first movie there is a reference to the horror movie "The Fly", so I imagine this was too.
Did anyone notice the dream sequence watching Astrid didn't actually have a clear indication for when it began? It transitioned from the movie as if everything was a dream right from the start.
Let's not forget BJ straight up looking into the camera and saying "I love a good dream sequence". Lol.
My other reasoning for believing the dream theory is what Winona said about Lydia. Winona and Tim are close friends. Winona pitched the idea of having Betelgeuse and Lydia be the endgame ship in her words, and she happily took part in this movie. If Tim had rejected the idea, why would Winona reprise her role for a story she didn't agree with? Winona knows that Lydia is Tim's self insert (Tim has said many times he relates the most to Lydia), so why would Tim approve of all the shippy moments if he opposed Winona's pitch? No one knows Lydia like him!
Winona said in this interview that she hadn't imagined Lydia ever becoming a mother, but that after a while it started to make sense. She does not elaborate on that, but explains her idea for Lydia was that she would end up a spinster in the attic. If you read the dream theory, it highlights how the movie begins with Lydia in the attic, and then transitions to Lydia's TV show, but the background is still the attic. I found the whole film very dreamlike in this way, and I think the fact that Tim has said Wizard of Oz (a movie where the girl wakes up after a dream, in which those she knew acted as characters within the sequence) is one of his favourite movies helps to put it into effect.
And finally...
It's Lydia Deetz. Lydia loves the strange and unusual.. do you really think she wasn't curious enough to contact Beej again?

In Belial's dungeon, Hakuryuu has his older sister and Morgiana, so his trial is based on the emotional importance of those two people, but Judar wasn't that close to Aladdin or Alibaba, he'd only met them twice. Judging from the people in the frame, I don't think Judar's mental image is based on closeness, but instead symbolizes the "right path" that he wanted to choose, or should have chosen.
Tumblr media
For Sinbad, in the alternate universe where Judar hadn't been kidnapped by Al-Thamen, Sinbad would have been the king he chose. He wanted to choose Sinbad, he had the right to choose Sinbad, but his fate didn't allow it, that was his first regret and resentment.
Aladdin and Alibaba are the Magi-King image that Judar considers ideal, he's jealous of Aladdin because he wants to have that kind of relationship with his king. He's a magi, going on adventures together and growing up and founding a country like the two of them should have been his life. That's the second resentment.
As for Kougyoku, to be honest, she's a little different. Up to this point, everyone understands why the other three are there, the main story has clearly shown Judar's relationship with Sinbad and the parallel with the Ali-Ala duo, while for Kougyoku if someone hasn't read the character book with side information they wouldn't have known that Judar likes to spend time with (teasing) her the most. But if the two of them are already close, why is Kougyoku in the life that Judar's bitter that he can't have? What does she symbolize? Actually, it won't be wrong to say that Kougyoku is his last chance to get the life he's always wanted. Among all of Judar's king vessels, not Hakuryuu, Kougyoku is the only one who remains Empress. If he couldn't choose Sinbad, if he still wanted to have the ideal magi and king journey, then the person he should have chosen is Kougyoku. The problem is, there has never been a magi-king stereotype between Judar and Kougyoku, they don't look at each other like that. Kougyoku doesn't have a common goal and similarities with him like Hakuryuu, she doesn't possess superior strength like Sinbad or Kouen, she doesn't even have the will to become king like Serendine. Kougyoku doesn't have anything that Judar can use. And Judar won't be interested in or even pay attention to something he can't use. Yet he spends his day off teasing Kougyoku, lets her drag him down the street to play, and supports her dreams when he doesn't need to and won't be getting anything out of it. Judar says they aren't friends, but it's clear that he hangs around Kougyoku simply because he likes Kougyoku, there's no underlying motive. Likewise, Kougyoku doesn't care that Judar is a magi, like she said, she will still love Judar whether he is a magi or not because Judar-chan is Judar-chan. These two loves each other for who they are, which in turn prevented Judar from realizing that the most suitable candidate for him is Kougyoku. And that was the third regret, the final regret that held him back.

Sunny Day Jack - Songs to Listen to While Descending into Madness
Hey, remember when I found Ian's perfect theme song for Sunshine in Hell? Well, I found one that fits Joseph's descent into madness and embracing the personality of Jack. Maybe I should make a playlist specifically for Sunshine in Hell sometime...
Not only does it have this manic energy that switches to disturbing and somber, a lot of the lyrics really give me the vibe of the suffering Joseph went through as he tore away at his very identity to become someone and something else.
When did I become afraid of the dark? Are my eyeballs just yet to adjust to seeing the light? The room I'm in is still the same, the shadows have not rearranged it No, the only thing that's changed is how I see at night I fumble for the switch and strap on infrareds and wish For sunshine when the morning's somewhere else But I can't change what time it is or dilate my irises Only what I look at, and I'm looking at myself I am not the sunshine, I am not the moon at night Well, who else could I be when I can hardly see? I am not the sunshine, I am not the moon at night I'm no one if I'm nowhere in between When did I become afraid of the dark? Was it when I left the cave and swore I'd never go back? If we can't see each other, then there's no more use for hiding I've decided I'll abide it; why deny the color black? I'm not a flower, not a solar-powered calculator Damn my eyes for seeing what's not there I'll trade in vision for a practiced intuition 'Til my fears come to fruition, I'm not scared I am not the sunshine, I am not the moon at night Well, who else could I be when I can hardly see? I am not the sunshine, I am not the moon at night I'm no one if I'm nowhere in between The future must know where you've been The past predicts the state you're in The present did and will not last Is, isn't, was, have, hasn't, has All that I ask is, keep those empty frames If nobody's in them, then no one is to blame For your self-portraits, sign another name Well, who should I be then, if I'll never be the same? I will be my sunshine, I will be my moon at night Who else could I be, when I can't fucking see? I will be my sunshine, I will be my moon at night I'm nowhere now, here's no one now to be And if dreams can come true, what does that say about nightmares? I'll stay awake tonight
It really gives me vibes of the animatic Sauce made where Jack antagonizes Joseph, particularly that high energy of Jack strutting around, being cheerfully scary and threatening. It also reminds me this classic picture of a cheerful Jack and a traumatized dead(?) Joseph.
Tumblr media
It even has a sketch updated version you can check out here!
Credit as always goes to the awesome Sauce for their awesome art, characters, and stories. They and the rest of the crew of SnaccPop Studios are a wealth of endless inspiration. Consider joining their patreon, won't you? Just remember - don't repost anything privately posted there!
There's so many lyrics that make me think of Jack's broken mind and the effects of hell had on him. I have to really break it down to show all the different feelings/images that it conjures up, since there is so much here virtually every line.
"When did I become afraid of the dark?" When you were trapped in hell, Joseph. His loneliness was bad while he was alive, but his death made it so, so, so much worse. He's terrified of being alone and forgotten. He can't stand the cold numbness only broken up by pain. It's a night he can never sleep through or wake up from.
"The room I'm in is still the same, the shadows have not rearranged it. No, the only thing that's changed is how I see at night." It didn't get better. Nothing changed in that hell. It just repeated his death and the delusions of his decaying mind. The only thing that changed was himself into someone else, someone who could better handle the madness.
"I fumble for the switch and strap on infrareds and wish, For sunshine when the morning's somewhere else." Joseph struggles desperately somehow, someway to find some sort of light, some hope in hell. Unfortunately, his sunshine Mary is somewhere else, reborn as Alice. All he can do is wish for a miracle.
His sunshine was always like a miracle to him. She found him twice. He prays she'll find him again.
"But I can't change what time it is or dilate my irises, Only what I look at, and I'm looking at myself." Joseph can't change his circumstances. He can't feel anything but cold and pain, no matter how much he struggles. He's helpless.
The only thing Joseph can do is relive his death and look inward into an ever growing abyss that stares back at him. That abyss, that hell is changing him because he can't do anything but stare inward.
Joseph only has himself in this hell, and the longer he stares at himself, the more he hates what he sees.
"I am not the sunshine, I am not the moon at night." Joseph isn't as good as his sunshine was, in his opinion. He's not even as good as a fraction of her, like the sunlight is reflected on the moon. He doesn't even have a glimmer of her light either.
"I'm no one if I'm nowhere in between." In a way, he is nowhere, trapped between life and death. Joseph/Jack was erased. He became no one.
"When did I become afraid of the dark? Was it when I left the cave and swore I'd never go back?" Jack swore never to go back into the tape, never to be Joseph ever again. He's terrified of being alone, and he refuses to ever be alone and forgotten ever again.
"I've decided I'll abide it; why deny the color black?" Joseph gives into his darker impulses, his madness, his yandere side. He'll do anything to be free of this hell, to have his sunshine back.
Even if that means staining his soul irreparably with sin by torturing and killing others to do it.
He'll be damned to hell either way. He knows that from experience.
"Damn my eyes for seeing what's not there." When someone is put through sensory deprivation, they hallucinate, make up alternate personas, and the like. Jack himself was confused at first when the tape was played, asking if MC/Alice really was real, that he wasn't just dreaming.
How many times did Jack imagine someone was really there to save him, only to be disappointed by a cruel reality that he was still trapped in hell?
"I'll trade in vision for a practiced intuition. 'Til my fears come to fruition, I'm not scared." These lines sum up the whole Jack persona. He'll bury himself in that cheerful façade in order to deny his own fears that he'll be trapped in hell forever. He'll lose himself in a dream of his own making since he can never sleep again.
The only way to avoid being scared of an eternity in hell is denial, denial, denial.
"Well, who else could I be when I can hardly see?" He's Jack. He can't see himself as Joseph anymore. His mind can't handle it. He's blinded himself to his real identity by burying memories of anything else.
"The future must know where you've been." This feels like the video tape. The few traces left of what happened in the incident of 1984.
"The past predicts the state you're in." All the mistakes Joseph made and the few things that made him happy with himself are the reasons why he became Jack.
"The present did and will not last." Time is cruel, constantly marching forward and erasing the past. Jack lost everything so many times. He lost his identity, his dreams, his sunshine, and his life. Everything was lost so easily... how can he not dread losing it all again?
"All that I ask is, keep those empty frames." If nothing else, Jack is desperate to be remembered. Even if the person in the picture isn't himself anymore, he's desperate for at least some trace of him is remembered, even if it's this caricature of the character he played.
"If nobody's in them, then no one is to blame." A reference to LambsWork Productions covering up the part they played in Jack's death or the scandal the 1984 incident created. They can't have their reputation ruined if no one remembers the SunnyTime Crew Show after all.
"For your self-portraits, sign another name." This makes me think of all the autographs Joseph had to sign as "Sunny Day Jack." The character had his face, his voice... but it was a different name. He couldn't break character, because the character was what people loved. It's another reason why he's Jack now instead of Joseph.
"Well, who should I be then, if I'll never be the same?" Joseph Cullman is missing. [Redacted] Haberdae is dead and erased. He can't go back to being either. Who should he be? What name or persona should he use that will give him peace?
"Who else could I be, when I can't fucking see?" What is left for him but to be Sunny Day Jack? He has nothing else but that persona in this hell.
"I'm nowhere now, here's no one now to be." This line sums up Jack's state in the tape. He's nowhere, and he doesn't know how to be himself anymore. He is nothing... so he'll be the character he played.
He doesn't know how to be Joseph anymore because he can no longer see the good qualities he had as Joseph. Everything good was attributed to Jack in his mind, even his sunshine's love.
"I will be my sunshine, I will be my moon at night." He will be Sunny Day Jack. He will be his own hope, his sunshine. Losing himself to this alternate persona was the only thing he had to cling to in that cold and lonely hell. He clung to it like a piece of driftwood until the splinters dug into his hands and made him bleed madness.
"And if dreams can come true, what does that say about nightmares?" Now this shift makes me think of after Jack is freed and the lingering trauma from being in the tape. It's fitting because it comes after a drastic shift in the song to something somber, slowly building into something almost... hopeful?
His dream of being saved came true... but the nightmare of that hell still haunts him.
What if he goes back?
Jack could, just as easily, be sent away if Alice doesn't want him there. He needs to make sure that never happens.
Can Jack really dare to cling to this hope that he's been given, that this actually is reality?
Was he really saved, or is this just another delusion?
So even though Jack finally can sleep, he's finally safe... his fears still haunt him. He can't truly rest until he's sure, absolutely sure, that he won't lose his sunshine ever again. It's the hope he's desperate to hold onto.
"I'll stay awake tonight." The hell of the tape robbed Jack of his ability to sleep, both in the past and in the present. His trauma and mental scars run deep.
No doubt there were many nights where Jack just laid in bed and watched Alice sleep. He focused on her warmth, her steady breathing. Her heartbeat, her soft skin, her smell...
Alice is real. This sunshine is real. Jack knows that. He knows that deep down in his soul, but...
What if?
Just one minute longer. One second more to reassure himself.
This beautiful person Jack holds close in his arms is his salvation. Alice chose to save him. She promised to never forget him. She promised him forever.
Jack feared that the tape would be his forever.
So even though he's tired, Jack just needs a little bit more, just that extra moment more to drink in Alice with all of his senses so that he can truly believe that she delivered him from damnation.
Joseph is dead. The good parts of him, the light and hope he found in himself as that redacted identity are gone from even his memory. Jack is the only one there now.
Alice is the only sunshine Jack can see now, and he'll do whatever it takes to make sure he never loses that light, his hope, his love ever again.
Of course, during these moments of insecurity, Alice would stir, just a little, and cling to Jack tighter. Sometimes she even murmurs his name softly. She can feel that he needs her love through their connected souls.
The thoughts and feelings flow both ways. Sometimes Alice can pick up what Jack is thinking too, especially when his soul cries out to be seen, heard, felt, and loved.
Even though Jack didn't say a word, Alice heard his thoughts, his deepest need, and answered in a sleepy mumble, "Don't worry... I've got you. 'm not going anywhere..."
The soft words, slurred by a haze of sleep, sent a jolt through Jack, and all the love and gratitude he felt for her washed over him. Even in her dreams she would reach out to him, reassure him that she won't let him go. Even when in moments when his fear made their connection feel so tenuous, so fragile, all it took was a soft squeeze of her delicate hand always holding so gently onto his to quiet his fears.
Alice won't remember what she said in the morning, or anything else she mutters in a half-asleep haze, but she'll always remember Jack. She'll remember this man, no matter what name he uses, no matter what the fractured picture of his sanity looks like now. Their love is forever.
Even if Jack can't find the light in the man he used to be, even if the light of the good parts of Joseph are dead, buried, and forgotten in his mind... Jack can always believe in Alice, his sunshine. As long as he has her, he doesn't have to fear the dark or that he'll be banished back to hell.
Jack has the light of hope. It's in his sunshine Alice, and in the persona he wears. Most of all, it's in their love that lived on even after death.
Fortunately, over time, Alice will help him see that the light was always there even when he went any other name. With her help, he'll be able to finally find true peace and rest his weary soul in the gentle sunshine of their love. He'll finally be able to heal and truly shine in spite of the darkness.
Yeah, I know the song ends on a more somber note, but I'm all about happy endings and fluffy vanilla goodness. I couldn't help but add on a bit of a sweet reprise of sorts, even if not in so many lyrics. Sunshine in Hell is all about these wounded soulmates helping each other heal after all.

For Zuri!! (18 may be a silly one because I know she's on different routes, but I am curious if she does think she has a type and how the different members of UB fit that or not. But the answer might also just be "no" lol.)
♥ (08) What is your OC’s dream marriage proposal?
♥ (12) What do you love most about your OC?
♥ (18) Does your OC have a “type”?
♥ (21) Does your OC believe in love at first sight?
Hello hello PD! Thank you for sending in some questions🥹
I'm actually so glad you sent in 18, I haven't spoken about it before and with UB specifically it's dependent on a lot of different things👀 But, I'll get into that later.
8. What is your OC's dream marriage proposal?
This is the the question where the answer is lowkey just "no" lol. But, it's a complicated no. Zuri barely let's herself think about getting married. Her perception of herself, and by extension, the relationships she thinks she's capable of having, don't allow for it to even be considered. She doesn't think she can or should have anything stable and real - some of this comes from her childhood but a lot of it comes from her actions afterwards.
She isn't fully aware of this, but she absolutely idealises her life before Rook’s death (when I first read twc I thought he died when the detective was 8-ish, I later found out that I was wrong but it became too integral to Zuri's character for me to change it). This includes her relationship to both her parents at the time and the relationship Rook and Rebecca had. Those two were so in love and little Zuri only ever saw that, they were as solid and as loving as can be - and yet they didn't last. They did everything right and everything was practically perfect (from her perspective) but their relationship never got the chance to stand the test of time because someone took him from Rebecca. From her.
While Rook was forcefully taken away from them, Rebecca was choosing to be away from her. Suddenly work started taking up almost all of her time, and the few occasions where she was home she could barely look Zuri in the eye. Not when all she could see in them was Rook. She stopped being as physically affectionate too (the change is more drastic to Zuri than it may have actually been - that type of affection was more Rook’s thing than Rebecca’s, even if she did make a point to try to be, but with both parents gone in some way it felt like she was getting next to nothing). Seeing her, touching her, watching her smile the same way Rook did visibly pained Rebecca, so even if she did try to be affectionate she would almost instantly pull away and harden herself (sounds pretty similar to a certain someone) as to not breakdown in front of her. Little Zuri couldn't read that as anything more than rejection - her mother was seeing something in her that she didn't like, something so bad that it hurt and repulsed her.
So therein lies the beginning of Zuri’s abandonment issues. There is something about her that can drive people away, even people who initially love her. And if this internal force somehow doesn't make someone leave her, an external one will. The forces seem to be against her. And then the person she became later on in life in an attempt to have someone, to prove her worth to bobby someone, made her do things that resulted in her being completely alone for a good while. Ultimately, it reinforced her belief that either she or something else will always ruin a good, stable thing and that she it simply isn't meant for her. She can't have that, and she shouldn't have that because she doesn't deserve the chance anymore.
She's less likely to break something if she isn't holding onto it for long.
This got really long for just the one question, I'm so sorry💀 But yeah. All that makes marriage feel like an amorphous, unattainable concept that she can at most understand in theory. So a proposal hasn't been on the brain at all. If it ever was, when she was younger and everything seemed perfect lol, it isn't something she remembers.
12. What do you love most about your OC?
This answer isn't going to be as long, but it's difficult to just choose one. This is what's coming to mind right now: how much she tries to make the most of the present. All that mess from above has made it so that she's more open to those fleeting but memorable moments of connection with someone.
Chatting it up with someone(s) in the bathroom of a bar or club and deciding to go bar hopping with them, making casual conversation while she's queuing up for something, gossiping with the hairstylists whenever she decides to go to the saloon (or hair salon, if that's the term most people are familiar with). The occasional one night stand (she's very picky, they've gotta enjoy each other's company first before she goes for that) and the more familiar but not so frequent encounters with someone who was a friend with benefits or an ex who doesn't mind reliving a few memories wink wink.
She's so friendly and charming and outgoing - and even though it sucks that she won't let herself experience long term connections, I love how open she is to the more spontaneous and uncertain aspects of social interactions. I live vicariously through her on that front, just a little bit lol.
18. Does your OC have a "type"?
Oh, absolutely. There's layers to it and she isn't restricted to them, but there's definitely a pattern in who she's most likely to go for. I'm so glad you want to see how UB might fit into it, I've been wanting to yap about this forever!
If we're talking physical appearance, someone who is bigger than her in any way (they've got more height and/or muscle and/or fat) is going to catch her eye first. When Zuri first meets Unit Bravo, she definitely has a "oh no, they're hot" squidward type of moment internally lol.
It's Nate who catches her eye first. For obvious reasons, I think. The man is a giant, just over a foot taller than her, and the gorgeous smile and accessories certainly help (he wears rings right? or is it a singular ring? either way, accessories are also something that catches her eye). No matter what route she's in, she starts off having a little thing for Nate. It just fades off into something platonic if she's romancing someone else.
Speaking of someone else, she does notice how muscular Adam is. That broad and very obviously strong but not super defined look/build he has going on is very appealing to her. With Morgan, it's the aesthetic and the accessories that she notices. The cords around the neck and wrists and the gemstone? She was immediately intrigued by that, and it's something she pulls off really well. And with Farah, it's her gorgeous smile as well, and her eyes. I imagine that Farah's whole face lights up when she smiles. And eyes that look like gold? She's immediately a little in awe (even though she does at some point wonder if those are contact lenses in book 1 lol).
So, while Adam, Morgan and Farah have aspects of their physical appearance that she's into, Nate just so happens to have he combination that makes her wanna gaze at him forever (I'm thinking some thoughts about a possible zuri/adam/nate poly now that I haven't thought about before and it excites me too much to put in this post, it'll get extra long if I do).
But personality wise? Zuri does go for the more closed off, emotionally unavailable people. So Adam and Morgan appeal to her the most there lol.
It's not the healthiest thing on her part, but she's used to having to work for attention and affection and that's what she feels like she's doing throughout book 1 and 2. Being able to see and feel the progression in her relationship with them is immensely satisfying to her, it makes it easier to gauge how they perceive her (and when she finally makes them smile, even a little bit, she thinks it's just as gorgeous on them - but it's with the added fuzzy feeling of being the reason for it).
Despite this not so great mindset, she does need to have a reason to want to develop the relationship at all. If someone's an asshole all the time, there isn't going to be much of anything to spark any more interest in them. She catches glimpses of Adam being than stoic and arrogant throughout book 1 that makes her want to know him (the scene in the car right before they speak to Kate Hayes and the softness in his eyes when he watches the rest of UB at the bar is what comes to mind rn). Unfortunately, Morgan doesn't really do that lmao, she's either being abrasive or trying to get in her pants. And while that juxtaposition both baffles and amuses her, she only starts wanting to know Morgan in book 2 (finding out that she likes nature gives them some common ground to work with and their banter is definitely less hostile, but her advocating for her to be the one to choose to do research or combat and her confidence in her abilities is an unexpected change that gets her to that point) (the mirror scene too, but i think that's a given).
Farah and Nate, on the other hand, are friendly from the jump, so there's no need for that. But the fact that there isn't makes her a little less trusting of them, mostly because it's more difficult to figure out where she stands with them. Is there a catch? Do they not actually like her but are friendly because she's their boss's daughter? Is she getting any closer to them throughout book 1 and 2 or has she not progressed with them at all? Both of them can be so complimentary from the beginning, seeming to perceive her as someone who was so refreshing to be around that it could change or add to Unit Bravo's very established team dynamic, and she simply wasn't convinced. It takes a good while for her to even consider believing them. But when they start opening up to her about the less pleasant aspects of themselves or their experiences (the mirror scenes and the conversation you can have with them after the murphy nightmare is a given, but it's all I can think of rn), she definitely starts trusting them more and realises that what was said before wasn't the baseless praise she thought it was. It also scares her a little, because that means they've always thought so highly of her, and that isn't a perception of her that she can keep up.
That's not to say that she didn't like them throughout book 1 and 2, though. She did, and she did want to get to know them. She just, unfortunately, feels more secure in knowing how that's going when the person is mean first lol. With Nate and Farah, she's ultimately projecting👀
I think I got carried away again, I'm so sorry💀💀
Long story short, her type is someone who is bigger than her who wears accessories (in most cases) and is kind of an asshole but isn't just an asshole.
21. Does your OC believe in love at first sight?
No she does not. She believes in... a spark of attraction or intrigue at first sight, romantically or sexually or platonically. Like seeing someone who looks really cool to you and getting that niggling feeling of wanting to be their friend/lover. But love? No, not at all.
Wow a short answer for once lol. But this one doesn't have much backstory behind it, so it was much easier to answer.

student 21's villain academia, pt 1
so. not twst bully!au part 4. it's not canceled don't worry; i'm just having a couple health issues at the moment and this one was closer to being done. i've literally been working on it for 5 days, so... it was time.
this one is a bit slow to get started, as in it still hasn't kicked into action yet, but by part 3 or so you'll see my vision. this is an x gn!reader, so anyone can read it, and no, aizawa is NOT one of the love interests. i'd rather die than ship him with a student. i have no idea if this au has been done before; you don't have all the information yet so don't jump to conclusions about me copying so-and-so. this idea has been rattling around in my brain for like a year so i'm super excited to finally get it out! genre: gn!reader, fluff, found family, romance coming eventually, canon-typical angst trigger warnings: reader has a panic attack word count: 2004
You didn’t really consider yourself one of those ‘crazy anime fans.’ No, you were more subdued in your interests. You didn’t own hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise, nor did you insist on watching the latest episodes right when they aired. And above all, you would never try to force your passion onto others.
Lately you’d been really into a rather popular action anime by the name of Boku no Hero Academia, or My Hero Academia in English. It wasn’t perfect, but something about the characters just sucked you in. They were just kids, only fifteen years old, and suddenly they were faced with enemies backed by a villain even the strongest hero struggled against. Thus, you couldn’t help but feel little ashamed of yourself as you fell asleep to the ending song of the latest episode.
When you woke up, it was very abrupt. You were certain you’d been asleep on your couch, but suddenly you were standing in the middle of a busy street. Not wanting to be stuck there when the light turned green, you hurried to the other side. Was this a lucid dream? You’d never had one of those before, but there wasn’t another plausible explanation.
Taking in your surroundings, all the signs definitely weren’t in English, but somehow you could understand them. Was that Japanese? Huh, all that anime must be rubbing off on your subconscious. You caught sight of a TV inside an electronics store displaying the news. You didn’t know where you were supposed to be, so maybe that could give you a clue.
“Hinata here, reporting in from Musutafu News,” a young woman announced, “just this morning, up and coming villain Bakugou Katsuki wreaked havoc on a suburban neighborhood, completely destroying 8 homes. Can you believe he’s only 15?! Goodness, what has society come to? Fortunately, there were no casualties, but our experts believe it’s only a matter of time. And now, for the weather forecast…”
You tuned out the rest, in a complete state of shock. Bakugou is a villain? What sort of dream is this? Sure, he’s loud and violent and tells people to die on the regular, but he’s not a criminal! Is this some sort of joke? Is your subconscious playing some kind of trick on you? There’s some sort of nagging feeling in the back of your mind, like you should know something about this situation, but you just can’t recall.
You decide to keep walking, instead of staring blankly at the television like an idiot. Maybe you’ll find someone or something that can explain what’s going on. With luck, it’ll be one of the main characters. If you’re really unfortunate, you’ll find someone from the League. But who knows, maybe they’re the good guys here.
After about 10 minutes, it hits you. This is one of those alternate universe thingies! Your cousin, who’s far more invested in the fandom than you are, was trying to explain them to you at a family gathering, but you were only half listening. Now that was a mistake. Even worse, she seemed convinced that some people actually got transported into the worlds of anime! No wonder you weren’t paying attention. Clearly she had a screw or two loose. Yeah, there was simply no way something like that had happened to you. This was a dream, plain and simple.
But then the building right next to you caught fire. You were sure there was nothing before, but there was a fire and it was very, very big and very, very hot. Suddenly this all felt too terribly real. Was it a villain attack? Oh no, you were doomed. You were going to die- you’d only just gotten here and you were already going to die-
“It’s going to be okay,” you heard a gruff voice say.  It was probably Japanese, but you could understand it all the same. “Take deep breaths, one at a time. The heroes are already here, they’re apprehending the villain right now,” you heard him say softly. You did your best to follow his advice. In, pause, out, pause. In, pause, out, pause. After a while, it wasn’t so hot, and you could turn to look at the person who had calmed you down. You weren’t one to judge, but he looked like he needed some help- holy cow that’s Aizawa!!
Okay, you were not expecting that. Sure, you were hoping you’d run into a friendly canon character, but you didn’t think it’d happen that easily! You knew you needed to say something though, or this would be painfully awkward. “I, um,” you spluttered, “I’m a huge fan, Eraserhead. Can I get an autograph?”
“A fan, really? I don’t have too many of those.” He looked pleased, but also a bit confused. That was to be expected, considering he’s an underground hero. “Sure, do you have any paper on you?”
Ah. That was a bit of a problem. You searched your pockets, turning up absolutely nothing, not even your phone. “Nope. Nothing. Guess I won’t be getting that autograph, huh?” You were disappointed, of course, but it wasn’t the end of the world. As messed up as this world seemed to be, you were probably better off not meeting any more canon characters unless they were saving your life. This was just a lucky chance.
“Ah, well, that’s too bad. Hey, kid, you don’t seem like you’re from around here. Are you lost?” Aizawa asked. You did a double take, wondering if it was really that obvious. Kid, though? How old were you?
“Um, yeah, I’m pretty lost, I think. I’m not really from around here,” you vaguely expressed. Even you weren’t sure where here was. You were beginning to fear that this might just be your new reality, but naturally you couldn’t just accept that out of the blue. A large part of you was holding out hope that this was just a crazy dream. Because if Bakugou was a villain in this world, then what did that mean for the rest of the characters?
“You think? Did you hit your head or something? I can take you to the hospital to get it looked at,” he offered. You were pretty sure a concussion was the least of your worries, but sticking with Aizawa seemed safer than being alone in a strange place, at least. He did appear a little suspicious of your condition, but you were only telling the truth. You had no idea what was going on either.
“That might be a good idea. Thank you,” you agreed with a nod. While the doctor wasn’t likely to find any brain damage, you could at least see if you had the quirk factor gene thing or not. The odds were next to zero, but if this was a dream, you might just turn out to be super overpowered!
Yeah, right. Even if you did suddenly find yourself being up to par with some of the main characters, there wasn’t much you could do with it. Public quirk usage was illegal, and it’s not like you’d end up in a hero school with zero documents to prove you actually existed.
You and Aizawa walked in silence, presumably to the nearest hospital. You really hoped he wasn’t also a villain in this world. But if he was, then why would he have helped to calm you down? So, you were probably safe. For now, at least. You couldn’t cling to him forever.
When you reached the hospital, Aizawa took you to the emergency room. You didn’t think you were that much of an emergency, but you couldn’t provide much of a counterargument without revealing too much. What were you supposed to say, anyway? “Oh, hey, by the way, you’re just a character from an anime I watched back home, except for some reason the timeline got really messed up and now Bakugou’s a villain?” As if! He’d think you were crazy!
So instead, you went along with it as you were brought back almost immediately. You weren’t sure if it was because they thought you had a head injury, or because you were with a pro hero. Either way, it wasn’t fair to the other people waiting, those who actually needed help. But again, there was nothing you could do.
Several annoying and probably unnecessary tests later, a doctor came back to your room to speak with you. “Well,” she began, sitting down on a stool, “I have good news and bad news. The good news is that all the tests came back normal. The bad news is, well, none of our staff could find any information on you. Are you sure your name is in our system correctly?”
You knew this would happen, unless the universe magically decided to cover for you. “Yes, they’re correct. I just, I don’t really remember anything else. I know that and some basic information but that’s about it. I don’t even know where I come from, just that it’s not here,” you told her, trying to be as calm as possible. You’d had plenty of time to think about what to do while you were waiting on the results, and you figured amnesia was the best option.
It was true, in a sense, that you didn’t know where you came from. You were beginning to be convinced that this was reality, but you didn’t know how. Was this some sort of parallel universe? You didn’t know how all that physics stuff worked, but that sounded the most likely.
The good news about the timeline being messed up was that you didn’t have to worry about your presence messing things up. You were basically free to do whatever you wanted. You were, however, severely limited by the fact that according to the government, you weren’t a real person.
The doctor and Aizawa shared a look. “Well, I’m going to step out and have a chat with the doctor here about what to do next,” Aizawa said in a tone that didn’t betray anything. That made you nervous. Were you in trouble because you’d said you were his fan? Were you going to be interrogated, or worse, sent off to Tartarus, never to see the light of day again?
No, you’d be fine. Everything would be fine. You just had to focus on your breathing, and try not to think about everything that could go wrong. From what you knew about him, Aizawa wouldn’t turn on you so quickly. You hadn’t done anything wrong.
After a surprisingly brief amount of time, Aizawa re-entered the room alone. The doctor must’ve left to go see other patients. “Hey kid, it sounds like you’ve been through a lot. So until we figure out what to do with you, you’re welcome to crash at my place. I’m guessing you don’t have any school to attend?”
“I don’t know, Mr. Aizawa,” you mumbled. What else were you supposed to say, anyway? Who knows, maybe you could go for a career in acting after all this was over. You’d have plenty of practice by then, that’s for sure. You felt guilty for lying to him, of course, but what choice did you have?
“I figured as much. I’ll talk to the principal at the school I teach at and see if we can’t get you enrolled when the new school year starts two weeks from now,” he supplied. You tried not to let your surprise show on your face. You were going to go to UA?! Nezu would still have to agree, but this was beginning to sound like a classic main character development. You didn’t want this hero academia; especially not when everything could be messed up!
“In the meantime, I’m sure you must be exhausted. Come on, let’s go home,” Aizawa said. Home. That was a nice sentiment. Here you were, in a new world all by yourself, unsure of what was the same and what had changed. But at least you had a place to rest your head.

Question asking! How would you depict Morph in the X-Men Evolution cartoon? And if you could redo Pyro’s depiction in it, what would you change?
Ooooh, boy, I actually had a vague fanfic type idea awhile back about putting a version of Morph in Evolution. Basically? I'd put him on the Deadly Genesis team.
So, the first team of mutants that Xavier ever recruits is a group of teenagers - Vulcan (I think in this case Xavier does NOT know that he's Scott's brother), Darwin, Petra, Sway, and Changeling. (I'm gonna go with Changeling here rather than Morph.) After a few early missions, he sends them to investigate a mysterious island (Krakoa, of course) that appeared in the Pacific Ocean, while he stays onboard the Blackbird monitoring them. The mission is a disaster. Krakoa lashes out with an enormous blast of energy that appears to kill Vulcan, Darwin, Petra and Sway, as their life readings disappear, and Xavier feels their pain and fear. Changeling, who had shapeshifted wings and was flying above the island to scout it out, is spared the brunt of the blast and is knocked into the ocean, badly injured and apparently the only survivor. Xavier rescues him, and Krakoa sinks back below the waves.
Xavier returns to the mansion with his only surviving student, and nurses him back to health. I want to emphasize, Xavier is absolutely devastated and fucked up over what happened. I think Evo Xavier is kind of a bastard, but like all Xaviers I think he has good intentions. As far as he knows, his X-Men were a complete failure, he failed them, and he led four teenagers to their deaths. When Changeling wakes up, and is determined to go back to the Pacific to search for his missing teammates, even growing wings and physically flying there if necessary, Xavier makes a decision. He has no hope of starting another X-Men team, and he decides that the best possible thing he can do for mutant Kevin Sydney is to protect him - by erasing his memory of the team, and of ever being a mutant. I think Changeling in this universe generally uses a human form similar to Morph's human form in TAS/X-Men 97 as a default, and if the featureless white clay form is his "real" self, he hasn't found it yet. Xavier locks Kevin in human form, suppresses his X-Gene, and sends him back to his parents believing that he was in a terrible car accident at "summer camp," and leaves him to lead a normal life as a "human."
Xavier then spends a few years deeply depressed and not doing much.....until he hears reports of the weather-controlling mutant in Africa. Storm is enough for Xavier to start considering an X-Men team again, and believe that there might be some hope. He tells no one about the original team, it is his deepest shame. In the meantime, Kevin has become a relatively successful actor - not a superstar, but doing pretty well for himself. He's been in a few movies, and by the time Evolution starts, he's starring in a CW sexy vampire drama similar to The Vampire Diaries. For self-indulgent reasons, I'm gonna say that it's a Dark Shadows revival that is actually really good. (Kitty absolutely loves the show, and loves Kevin's character. Rogue is probably into it too, but won't admit it.) Xavier never contacts Kevin or removes the blocks on his memories/powers, convincing himself that it's for the best, Kevin is obviously happy and successful and there's no need to throw his life into chaos. But also, because re-recruiting Changeling would mean telling everyone about the first team - his greatest failure and deepest shame.
Then, at some point after the end of Evolution, Krakoa re-emerges in the Atlantic. I'd say at this point, it's about 10 years after the Deadly Genesis team, so Kevin is in his twenties - not super old, but an adult compared to the Evo teens. Seeing news reports about the island knocks something loose in Kevin's mind, and he starts dreaming about Krakoa, and seeing occasional hallucinations of his old teammates (the kind of quick "blink and you'll miss it" thing where the ghost appears briefly in a mirror or in a crowd that horror movies do before the scares start ramping up.) Maybe he even starts to involuntarily shapeshift while asleep, but assumes that it's part of a dream. Xavier absolutely forbids the team to go anywhere near the mysterious new island, but won't say why.
Meanwhile, someone emerges from the island - it's Vulcan, who went into a deep coma while basically trapped at the center of Krakoa. Vulcan doesn't know exactly what happened or how he survived, but he is pissed. While flying towards Xavier's, he sees a billboard for Awesome Dark Shadows Revival That I Wish Existed, with what appears to be an older version of his teammate Changeling. Taking a quick detour, Vulcan tracks down Kevin and demands to know what happened. Kevin doesn't know what Vulcan is talking about, but realizes that he does recognize him from....somewhere. And at some point while Vulcan is somewhat violently confronting him, Kevin shapeshifts as an instinctive defense, and realizes that this isn't a dream, he is actually changing forms, and is probably a mutant, and there is something very wrong with his memories. Vulcan realizes that Changeling doesn't know what the fuck is going on, and assumes that Xavier must be to blame for this as well (he's right!) and drags Kevin off to confront the Professor.
Once they land at the mansion, a fight naturally breaks out. Vulcan wants Xavier and is willing smack down anyone that gets in his way. Kevin continues to not know what the fuck is going on, but I think he winds up on Team Protect Xavier, because he doesn't want to kill anyone, he just wants some answers. Everyone mistakes him for Mystique at first, and he gets knocked around a bit. I'm imagining Kitty, when she realizes that he is not only NOT Mystique, he is actually Kevin Sydney from All-New All-Different Dark Shadows, she is absolutely appalled that she kicked her favorite actor in the face.
After Vulcan smacks everyone around for a bit, and it seems like he is about to kill Xavier, he suddenly freezes and collapses, and another figure emerges. It's Darwin, who had merged with Vulcan all those years ago in order to allow them both to survive. They both went dormant within Krakoa, but Darwin woke up along with Vulcan when the island returned to the surface. Darwin has been fighting this whole time to stop Vulcan's violent rampage, and finally managed to put him down (for the moment).
Xavier finally explains everything. Everyone is angry. But also, they decide to go back to Krakoa for reasons I haven't decided yet - maybe they are worried about human researchers who are approaching the island, maybe Vulcan wakes up and flies out there, and the team wants to stop him before he starts wrecking shit again. The entire team, including Changeling (with the blocks on his memories and powers now fully removed) and Darwin. I think on the island there will be another fight with Vulcan and maybe with Krakoa itself, but it will stop when the team makes another discovery - it's Petra and Sway. Still alive, because fuck it, they deserve better and in my version of Deadly Genesis they get to live. They are trapped inside a time bubble that Sway instinctively created with her powers the moment the blast hit, and have been basically frozen in stasis this entire time (which is why Xavier couldn't read their life signs.) Xavier has to reach out telepathically to "wake up" Sway and cause her to drop the bubble, freeing both. For Petra and Sway, no time at all has passed, they haven't aged, they don't remember anything about their time in stasis. At this point, seeing all his old teammates still alive, I think Vulcan drops the vendetta (at least temporarily) and flies off into space, still very pissed. How does the team deal with Krakoa itself? I dunno, Xavier puts it to sleep or something.
I'm not sure what happens to the X-Men team after this. They have to reckon with Xavier having done some awful things and kept massive secrets, but unlike comics Deadly Genesis, it turns out no one actually died. Storm and Wolverine would demand to know ALL of Xavier's secrets and threaten to leave if he holds anything back. The kids are probably divided, but lose some respect for him. I think at least one person out of the Petra, Sway and Darwin trio will decide to stay at the mansion. Kevin does not stay - he doesn't want to hurt Xavier, but cannot forgive him for the memory blocks. Kevin also offers to use some of his actor money to help Petra, Sway and Darwin start new lives if they want (I think one of them might take him up on it), and tells the rest of the X-Men that they can call on him if there's a major emergency that requires a shapeshifter, because even if he hates Xavier he likes the rest of the team. The he runs back to Hollywood to stay on sexy CW Dark Shadows. I think he wrestles with whether or not to "come out" as a mutant, now that he knows, because a mutant celebrity might help the cause, but it could also destroy his career.
No Banshees were harmed in this version of Deadly Genesis.
As for the character in general, I think he'd have the same upbeat, kinda sassy personality as TAS/X-Men 97 Morph, but you wouldn't see as much in this story, since it's mostly Changeling getting dragged through the two worst days of his life and dealing with some very confusing memories. He's also not non-binary - at least not yet - but is kinda gender-nonconforming. I think he's probably questioned his own gender a bit, maybe he'd be nonbinary in the future after some soul-searching. I think Morph in TAS can also really hold onto a grudge, and I think Changeling would be the same about Xavier. Like, "I'm not going to attack or hurt you, but I do NOT want to talk to you, and you are NOT forgiven. Your student are cool, though."
As for Pyro - If given a chance, I'd make him a high school teen so he can be part of the Brotherhood the whole time, but I'm not sure how he would fit in, and what his dynamic would be with the rest of the group (or which X-Man would be his official "rival." Maybe he'd cockily keep trying to challenge Storm, just like in the comics.) I think he'd get along well with Boom-Boom during her Brotherhood time. He'd have a massive crush on Avalanche (that he's not very good at hiding) and get very jealous when Lance shows interest in Kitty. I'd like to see him actually have some opinions about mutants and politics rather than just "Hee hee, I like to burn things!" (Although that's fine, too.) His grandmother raised him in Australia, but when she suffered a major health crisis, she sent him to America to live with his deadbeat mother. His mother then kicks him out when he displays mutant powers. His grades are decent when he does the work, but he mostly excels in English and creative writing. He reads a lot, and has a laptop that he is constantly using to write. Mostly fanfic, for now. The best way to piss off St. John is to read his stories without his permission, and I imagine there are some Brotherhood keepaway games with his laptop. When not writing, he's usually playing with fire or looking for some kind of adrenaline rush.
Of course, I'd be satisfied if we just got to spend some time with Evo Acolyte Pyro after he joins the Brotherhood, or whatever their SHIELD team becomes. Just flesh him out more beyond "Laughs at violence, loves fire."
Edit - I just realized that my version of Deadly Genesis makes Vulcan like, several years older than Scott. Which makes no sense for his origins. Eh, don't worry about it. Maybe he got aged up prematurely in a Shiar breeding pod or something. Maybe he's actually Corsair's brother and therefore Scott's uncle. Whatevs.

Once again reviewing less known/unpopular dramas... Ghost Host, Ghost House (2022, Thai BL) delivers what it promises to be in the first episode: supernatural family drama about ghosts, with a side of romance. I have an affection for media that knows what it wants to be and executes that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kevin, now an adult and ready for university, arrives in Thailand to visit family he hasn't seen for a decade - as his mother moved them to the USA when he was young. He's a budding video blogger whose gimmick seems to be: cute gay boy who visits haunted houses. Little does he know that the family he's come to stay with are all dead. The loved ones once separated by geography, as a child of immigrants, are now separated from him in a way he is yet to understand. There at the old family home he also runs into Pleum, a local boy with big dreams who is cheerfully navigating through 5 odd jobs and begins to pursue the visiting hot boy with the same dedication. But whose family is also hiding wounds of his own.
"This flower reflects the reality. Pain hasn't gone elsewhere. It's just hidden, so we can move on and live our lives."
Don't come looking for a thriller or scares or ghost hunting. It's not a fast-paced drama, it's about the characters.
It's charmingly earnest in the two young men's fumbling birth of a romance, elements of whimsical humor in Kevin's ghost family navigating death (think Beetlejuice), and occasionally poignant in discussions of mortality, grief, and letting go. The family relationships are given equal weight to the romance.
There wasn't a tonal whiplash for me. The sweet & sexy parts fit alongside the fact that both MLs are surrounded by death and need to come to terms with it. The tone is fluid. In the midst of life, there is death; in the midst of death there is life.
It's not a deeply profound, philosophical exploration of grieving and I don't think that's a failure because it's not trying to be. It's just characters who are haunted, literally and metaphorically, and who find a way to move on during the course of 8 episodes.
The couple really worked for me (until the writers imo fumbled the end). Post high school, figuring themselves out and what they want. Clearly not virgins and very comfortable with their sexuality and queer desire, while being still awkward & uncertain about how to act around a cute boy you like. I appreciated that the couple is quite sweet & soft without neutering them. They are allowed to be age-appropriate horny! They're also allowed to make mistakes & deal poorly with grief in hard moments, and then apologize and be forgiven for it. Two people who met each other in the worst timing & situation for attempting a romance. Though perhaps without the ghosts that united them, they would have lived out their lives mostly on separate continents & never found home together.
The otp like each other right away - it's external factors pulling them apart. Unresolved grief that must be dealt with and the hovering dramatic tension tension that Kevin is Thai diaspora, essentially American, and this was intended to be a temporary visit to see his relatives. He's presumably considering this a 'vacation fling', while it was clear that Pleum was ready to go all-in. A separation was basically baked into the pairing. I was anxious about how this could really work. Spoiler: happy ending, but I did not entirely like how they got there (see cut).
I would be spoiling too much to discuss in detail, but the family elements are lovely. Bittersweetness in the incomplete time we get with our loved ones. And the subtle tragedy of the opportunities Kevin lost to know his extended family; the taste of home he's been missing as his mother moved on with a new american husband.
Only 2 distracting missteps in the drama. SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING.
A. Kevin is a dual citizen who's mostly lived in America all his life. His English should be perfect but it very much isn't. But tbh to a thai viewer it likely isn't noticeable and this is a thai production; that's the intended audience, not me. So I just used my imagination. It doesn't come up frequently.
B. The requisite separation trope in the last episode is always super annoying to me in kdramas & thai dramas, because it's such a cliche. At least in this case it was foreshadowed several times since early on that Kevin was NOT ready for commitment while Pleum was. (he clearly gets uncomfortable & ducks the question repeatedly when people bring up them being boyfriends. He's not a blushing maiden, this was reluctance to commit to staying in Thailand & settling down with Pleum, despite the connection, compatibility, and everything they went thru together) And it makes sense that he was too young to be brave enough to take such a leap and hadn't made peace with his 1st love Jake's death. So for once, the separation 100% made sense and I wasn't even upset by that part! My issue was how they executed the rest. Frankly, I disagree with the writing choices. I guess they were going with the idea that Kevin was resigned to having missed out. He feels like it's too late. But I hated that they had Pleum waiting for years for Kevin to be ready and it just didn't feel certain to me that they would have reunited except by chance. Like, I wanted Kevin to choose to go to him, full-stop. Not accidentally run into him, sorry that's bullshit to me. Yes, Kevin kept a momento of their time together. Yes, he obviously wasn't over Pleum. But to me it also felt like he was just prepared to move on and never see him again. No me gusta.
There's a romantic sensual reuniting scene and Pleum seems confident that he's not going to let his man go anywhere again. And Kevin is ready to say goodbye to the memory of his 1st love and admit Pleum is the one for him. I did buy-in on the idea that they experienced something truly formative together that no one else would understand. In the end, I did feel like Kevin would make a home with him now. So it's definitely a happy ending. But.. It really annoys me because without this misstep, if they had executed the separate & unite differently, this would be a fav drama I'd rec to everyone.

Since the askbox has clearly selected their fave, do you have a favorite Eternal? Based on design, personality or gimmick?
oh ahah
I'm a huge Seox fan, and then i'm all about the Twins actually.
When it comes to Seox, Seeds of Redemption genuinely kicked my ass and i'm genuinely driven to characters who have intense guilt for things that were out of their control but they can only blame themselves for it because they have no proper other way to blame anyone else. This is one of my favorite archetype by a lot, and Seox really fits the bill so well.
I also really love his dynamic with MC, which personally i read more as sibling-like, with the way once Seox realized the man who saved him was MC's father, and that he heard the father talk so proudly of their child and Seox wanted to meet them but felt too dirty to, but in the end MC ended up being the one silver of salvation Seox got and so Seox wishes he had been adopted to be a sibling to MC all those time, so they wouldn't have had to be alone during this period of their lives.
(which is why "....and" you also hurt SO MUCH with Logia actually making this dream come true and being so torn when it didn't work out)
And his kit is the most solid of all the Eternals' imo, he's a MVP through and through and i'm always a fan of aggressive dodgers in Granblue. He hasn't left my Dark Team ever since i recruited him.
And designwise he's perfect, the contrast of the scary mask to hide the very soft face, and the cold and broody voice that gets completely offset when his mask is removed and he's suddenly vulnerable again?
It also lead to one of my favorite character bits in Seeds of Redemption, when MC worries for him thinking he's putting on a brave face (metaphorically, as Seox was still wearing his mask) and Seox removes his mask for one second to look at MC in the eyes and tell them that this is going to be okay. Something very soft about a character who have to go through such an extend to protect his vulnerable side, willing to drop his armor because he found someone he could be vulnerable with.
Aside from Seox, i'm partial to the Twins, again because Seeds of Redemption kicked my ass.
I love Feower's more aggressive side, especially when paired with how he pretends to be cheerful when he is one of the few eternals who genuinely think of murder lmao. He's brutal most of the time and it makes him so compelling to me, considering this whole violence is something he had to embrace to protect the orphans of Stardust Town. He basically had to grow up quickly and more violent and willing to kill because it's the only way to make sure the children or Stardust Town don't get to suffer for it, and there's something about sacrificing everything you could be, making yourself a killer, to make sure people more vulnerable than you never get to know this hardship, that really gets to me.
And i love how Tien is more subdued, more calm and quiet, but yet she is just as tormented as her brother. While Feower became more violent, Tien became more hypervigilent. Feower takes actions, but Tien is the one to observe and make sure action is necessary to start with. It means she is often neck deep into the mafia business to try to protect the children. She is constantly putting others before herself and she has to learn that she needs to accept taking care of herself, because like Feower, she is sacrificing everything she is for the hope the children of Stardust town never have to live through it.
I adored the two of them in Seeds of Redemption back then and the way they bounced off each other, there's a darkness in both of them only offsetted by how they're more than happy to make this sacrifice, but it also makes them extremely protective of those they decided were their own, and it's why they want to take care of Seox and later Mugen, while also completely lashing out at Seofon once his plan is revealed. It's one thing to sacrifice oneself to protect others, but if you sacrifice someone else and it's not even to protect someone, you're scum.
Feower and Tien are both people who had to grow hyper independant and rely only on themselves because they know the adults of the world have been using and abusing children like them -- and in a sense, like Seox, with whom they have a sort of kinship, as he's also an orphan. Seofon becoming the manipulator there was the hit int heir trust that was hard to recover from, because it is all their fears put on a platter.
I love this conflict there because while Seofon's long game was to destroy the Mafia family threatening Stardust town and making sure Seox is safe, by keeping it away from the three people concerned, he endangered them and re-traumatized them instead. And as Tien tells him in the end, it's not as much the action that hurts, but that Seofon didn't trust them with his plan. they could have beared it otherwise.
And i think it's very interesting in the characterization of the twins, because it's another thing they're willing to sacrifice themselves for, but at least they need to know what they're fighting for, and need to know that the only people they actively opened up to and relied on aren't just using them like tools, like the same tools they've been trying to avoid becoming.
And finally i was personally pretty distressed by the fight in Seeds of Redemption where Rei took possession of Feower and forced him to beat Tien up, and Tien didn't defend herself and accepted it because it was a trial to pass to get the protection they needed.
I think in a way Rei was showing how both of their coping mechanism to deal with the horrors of living in a town the mafia prey over like this, are going to have the two of them killed and miserable if they don't do anything to stop themselves and reconsider- or that they're going to consume each other.
Tien is self sacrificing to a fault, so she accepted the fact that Feower would have to beat her close to death. She was accepting the suffering of watching her twin try to kill her. While Feower, who has become extremely aggressive and dedicated himself into becoming a killer if he had to, had to see how this strength that he nurtured to protect his family was now being used to destroy the one family members he never wanted to hurt.
I still think "Fuck Rei" for it though even if i see the lesson she wanted to teach them, but to see Tien and Feower's coping mechanism turn against them like that was both harrowing and really satisfying.
I love traumatized characters who try very hard to live with the trauma they have, but end up hurt by their own coping mechanisms more than saved by them. I think there's something extremely relatable and deep on the cuts you make by trying to protect yourself, and the twins' storylines really came to this extreme in a way i find extremely compelling.
Because the two of them are too self sacrificing to realize how it's hurting them, but they are two pieces of the same whole and the one thing they can't accept is hurting each other.
so they have to learn to rely on others people more, especially since the children of Stardust Town actually want to help them through their burden. And now there's also Nehan and Mugen there, + Rei's protection, so they're not alone anymore.
Outside of that i really really love their behaviors, with Feower being so brash and mean while Tien is soft and sweet, especially since in the end they're much more similar than you'd think, Feower has a softer edge, and Tien has a meaner edge as well. I think they really complement each other very well
kit wise i admit Feower isn't really great, but i like to have him in my party. Tien though has been the first Eternal i worked on and her backline buff has been so useful i keep using it even now, and she's my most used Eternal by far.
SO YEAH those are basically how my brainworms about the Eternals go.
I do like Siete a lot, I'm partial to liars and all after all, his duality, this silly mask that became his own face, all of that are really compelling and i love him a lot, but it's never been to the level of the Erune Trio for me ahah.
the more you know!

...well. i finished my first playthrough of baldur's gate 3. over the last several days i did the fight against gortash, the final battle against the netherbrain, the ending scenes at the docks, and the epilogue party. in this post i'll just write about everything up until the ending cutscenes start, and then make another post tomorrow because i have many thoughts and i don't want to make this be insanely long. not that it matters since i've basically just been making these posts for myself the entire time, but ANYWAY
love the fact that i was able to cast otto's irresistible dance on gortash during the very first turn and keep him boogeying for a bit before he managed to break out of it. using it on someone like him is just hilarious. this battle was surprisingly really easy, though? like with both otto's irresistible dance and hold person available, gortash barely got to do anything and there were only a couple other enemies who were incredibly easy to defeat. the grenade launchers were more annoying than anything else. kind of underwhelming but considering how difficult some of the other act 3 fights have been, and how close i now am to the end, i'm not complaining!
i'm so sad about karlach oh my god. she hasn't even been a favorite of mine, i mean, i like her a lot, she's always a delight to talk to, but she's not the type of character i get as easily attached to and i haven't used her on my team that much overall. and yet her voice acting was so full of emotion and her dialogue so heartwrenching that she made me wanna cry. gortash is dead and it should feel like this big victory but for her it isn't, because it doesn't change anything about what's happened or what's going to happen to her... elenion tried to joke around and call gortash ugly and karlach said she was too tired to laugh. they told her they think she should keep living as long as she can and she said "you do it, i'm tired". she's tried so hard to seem positive and hide her loneliness but now she's so caught up in her grief and anger that she's just tired of it all. "i want to live" plays in the background of the scene. she ends things by saying "love you" even if you're not romancing her. god i want to hug her so bad :( going to use the hugs mod i have installed to do that after talking to her back at camp.
talking to everyone around the camp, lae'zel is so encouraging in her own way and even astarion says there's no justice in the world because of what's happening to karlach... for some reason, it was this bit of dialogue with jaheira that made me actually tear up a little:
Tumblr media
like i guess it's just the fact that jaheira is this legendary hero that karlach looks up to and was so excited to meet, and here she is saying she doesn't know what else she can do to help karlach. it's so unfair what the fuck!!
had to screenshot this dialogue from wyll in the astral plane because i love him:
Tumblr media
the emperor is an interesting character, and i can honestly understand why some people, and some tavs, might trust him and want to ally with him. but elenion is very untrusting by nature, and sure, he's grown a lot and learned to put more trust in his allies--but the emperor as the dream guardian just constantly made him feel confused and uncertain and then once he was finally willing to fully trust them, he found out that he was being lied to after all. and then the emperor kept withholding information from him, and trying to convince him that he should become an illithid. so no, he is not allying with the emperor!! although orpheus's attitude is not exactly winning me over lmao, for one thing we did not STEAL the githyanki egg!!
WOAH the baby owlbear grew up?! big armored owlbear?! was not expecting that! also, huh, zevlor is here too... i don't think the gather your allies quest ever mentions him in the quest journal so i didn't realize he'd show back up. maybe it's just me, but i kind of wish there was more resolution to his story. i looked up whether he ever reappears after you rescue him in act 2 and found that he doesn't, and he doesn't even have a voiced line of dialogue at high hall, which really sticks out and seems weird because everyone else does except for him and volo?? the gondians also aren't here even though the quest journal does mention them... i think i got pretty much every not-evil ally, though! except for mol, i guess.
i callled pretty much every ally during the big battles in the courtyard because i wanted to see what they could do! and then i only called a few during the actual final battle because i was afraid that certain characters like zevlor or the owlbear might permadie. but it's so cool being able to call on everyone who you've helped throughout the game, as it really helps these last battles feel more epic and exciting. though it also makes me wonder what the rest of my party who isn't here in high hall is doing... like, okay, so jaheira and halsin were not in my party and they still showed up to give their aid. but what about minsc and boo? what about shadowheart, astarion, and karlach?? are they all just chilling out at camp while the rest of us fight?? it just feels odd that they don't show up here at all.
i accidentally got party wiped while trying to reach the netherbrain because i couldn't figure out where i was actually supposed to be going and messed up... please, if i ever have to be part of a band of heroes rising up to stop a world-ending threat, do not make me the leader. my nonexistent sense of direction will literally doom us all. the second attempt was really easy once i figured out what i was doing LMAO but i did also have to restart the final battle because... i had no idea how the thing with the netherbrain destroying the platforms worked and my party all died at once the first time. it's my first playthrough and i knew nothing about this whole part of the game, so of course there was going to be some trial and error. i had a lot of fun with all of that, though!!
and now we get to the ending cutscenes... which i will be posting about separately later. for now i'll just say i love this game and i can't believe i've hit the end of it. i started playing in march what the fuck.

Animal Crossing Characters Headcanons #1
Heeey, I just got into the Animal Crossing's fandom a month ago and I wanted to do this soooo bad. I feel like there's not enough hdcns of Animal Crossing's characters on tumblr, so here u go !
We'll start with my tanuki bois: Tom, Timmy and Tommy Nook, enjoy :)
💰☕🍃 Tom Nook 🍃☕💰
Tumblr media
Our favorite Tanuki Landlord is 42 years-old. He left his natal town for the city at the young age of 20 and came back when he was around 30.
My boi is a bisexual king, periodt.
According to Sable, when he was a kid, he was a idealist with a heart of gold, very ambitious, yet always kind. He hated injustice and was actually very sensitive. I like to think young Tom Nook was a bit like Ash from Pokemon~~
He adopted Timmy and Tommy when they were basically babies (like 2 or 3 years-old or something). He considers them as his pupils and sometimes call them affectively his nephews. That's because he's got too much pride to call them his sons.
The fact that he found two children who looks exactly like him even though Tanukis are a very rare species is a pure coincidence, but Tom secretly like to think it was fate.
He's slowly recovering from depression. When he found Timmy and Tommy in his late twenties, he was at his lowest point, alone and broke, and even considered the s word. Adopting them was like starting a new life and he decided to come back at his little town to raise them and start over.
He's very good friend with Isabelle, Blathers and Sable, and get along with almost everybody, even if they all confirms that Tom is an introvert, just with good social skills.
He had a hard time reconnecting with Sable when he came back, because he developped trust issues. He either rejected her or didn't have enough time to spend with her. But now they are close again, even if they don't have the same complicty they had when they were children. Because of how he treated Sable back then, Mable doesn't trust him and thinks her sister deserves better (she's still polite with him though)
Coffee drinker, and during his breaks he sometimes smoke while Isabelle allows herself to drink a little glass of whiskey. They both do that when Timmy, Tommy and the Resident Representative (or kids in general) aren't there so they don't give a bad example.
He used to have a VeRy AmbIGuOus~~ relationship with Redd at their time in the city. They were buisness partners and lived together but that's all Tom would spoke about him. This is probably thanks to Redd that he discovered that he can be into men (and let's be honest anyone would be gay for Redd <3 even if he's a bastard).
He hates Redd with a passion not only because he betrayed him but also because he brings out the worst in him: from his desire of adventure he became drawn to danger and even illegal things, his dream of glory and ambitions turned into greed, and basically every of his morals and principles were dead during his time with him. He isn't proud of it at all.
Has many talents and interests: good crafter, very great singer (loves to do karaoke with Isabelle), has an eye for fashion (like to speak clothes and do shopping with Sable), chess player, pianist and violonist (he once did a cover of KK Lament).
He won't admit it, but now that he's a bellionaire and have a stable life, he slowly start to think about more "conventional life" things, like marriage~~. He still hasn't found the one yet. This idiot is so oblivious to love anyway... (Poor Sable)
He gives the best hugs <3
He can be harsh with people (especially the Resident Representative) because he doesn't want others to end up like him. He has a sort of affection toward the Resident Representative like for Timmy and Tommy and he's very protective of them. Tom is the kind of guy that would beat the shit out of himself to create a better system and future for the people he cares about, even if he has to act like the villain.
Basically act tuff but he's such a dad and a big softie I luv him so much <3
☺👋🍃 Timmy & Tommy 🍃👋☺
Tumblr media
Despite their height, Timmy and Tommy aren't young children, they're both 15, with Timmy being a few minutes older than Tommy.
No one knows who are their actual parents, and they don't remember them neither, and both don't care. They are happy with their mentor Tom Nook and no one can replace him.
They both work because they want to. Tom Nook never forced them. At first he was just teaching them and let them observe him. Then, when his shop grew bigger and bigger (when he was more stable financially), he asked them if they wanted to work with him to put in practice what they learned. Timmy and Tommy were more than happy to, and actually were always harrassing Tom to let them work with him (they both truly admire him). When Tom Nook thought that they were ready (in New Horizons), he lend them the key of Nook's Cranny. The fact that they work alone in Nook's Cranny are way more a proof that Tom Nook trust them than any kind of exploitation.
Because they were raised by Tom Nook, they're both very mature for their age, more practical, independent and autonomous. So they don't really get along well with others children/teens and are more at ease with adults (Celeste and the Resident Representative are exceptions).
They are both smart as hell (young buisness prodigies), in a different way. Timmy is a quick thinker and learner, very adaptable, more social and persuasive, while Tommy is best at long-term planning, organization, logistics and managment. Tom Nook taught them everything he knows to not let them make the same mistakes he did.
Both probably have a high IQ and are good mathematicians and excellent chess players (Tommy beat Tom Nook once).
Since they are basically adults in teen's body, Tom Nook let them do wathever the fuck they want. They drink coffee, sometimes alcohol and Timmy even smoke once because he saw Tom Nook do it, but he hated that and never did again. Tom Nook knows they are responsible enough to handle themselves, but he's still here to protect or help them if they need him.
Tommy is a very good listener while Timmy gives great advices.
When they aren't working, they like to prank Tom Nook just to mess with him or test him. They like to switch clothes or things like that for example. Yet Tom is always one step ahead and always knows what they're up to. Little mischievous boys <3
They sometimes hang up with Celeste after closing the store since Blathers and Tom are friends. They get along well with her because of how calm and wise she is. They also like the Resident Representative more than just a client, because they're also more responsible than most people of their age (due to being in debt for Tom Nook), and Tommy has a little crush on them <3 (while Timmy is always like "Love sucks !")
They both accidentally called Tom Nook "dad" at different moment. Timmy did when Tom complimented him on his work (Literally the: "Nice work !", "Cool ! Thanks dad."). Tommy did when he was asking a innocent question like "Hey dad, why do you always look so sad ?". Tom Nook act like he didn't heard that but he was screaming internally.
They both live in Nook's Cranny. Upstairs, there's a studio for them to live (beds, kitchen, bathroom, etc.). Tom Nook comes to join them after they close to spend time with them and eventually stays there to sleep (when he's not overworked).
Timmy and Tommy are the only one who ever saw Tom cry.
They give Cuphead (Timmy) and Mugman (Tommy) from Casinoandcups vibe~~.
Aaaand that's all I have for now. Tell me if you want more <3

Fandom: Ikemen Vampire
Rating: G
Category: F/M, Multi
Relationship: Leonardo da Vinci/MC/Theodorus van Gogh (can be seen as a V or Triad)
Prompt(s): Inspiration from @polyamships
Summary: Leonardo hasn't created anything for a long time, but his family might be the change he was waiting for.
This was supposed to be a test drive for a pairing I was suggested but ended being a undefined polyamorous fic, short and done last minute, without any direct character interaction. Not much of a test drive. Maybe next month... Also my poor attempt at an event banner...
IkeVamp Masterlist / General Masterlist
Tumblr media
Leonardo hadn’t really been able to paint for ages, or do much of anything that went beyond the drafting stage, but, as time went by with his new family, he often found himself more inspired, especially after the baby was born.
In fact, his most detailed sketches were either of his girlfriend when their relationship was beginning and whenever he saw something new in her, or of her or Theo with the baby, sometimes the three of them together, and a few only of the baby.
Maybe it was the novelty of it all that inspired him the most. Or maybe it was about having proof these fleeting moments were real and not just a dream in the future. When his wife was gone, the child had grown, and he had no idea what his relationship to Theo would be by then.
Or, worse yet, when so much time had passed that he was left alone with his feelings and memories.
As a pureblood vampire, he was eternal. Everyone else’s lives were so fleeting compared to his, even of the other vampires.
But the idea of keeping physical proof of these moments sounded both tempting and scary. Being surrounded by these memories would be a blessing or a curse?
Leonardo didn’t know, so he refrained from giving in to these bouts of inspiration, even when Theo caught him sketching and practically begged him to try painting again.
But one late afternoon, after coming back from the town and not finding his wife, Leonardo walked into the baby’s room, to find her and Theo huddled together on the sofa, the baby secure in their arms, all three of them fast asleep, bathed into the orange glow of the setting sun.
It was such a warm scene. Even Theo looked so peaceful and soft instead of his usual rough and tense, always working and always in a hurry. A moment Theo would try to deny or downplay when he woke up.
The painting was done slowly and in secret, with borrowed materials and Leonardo considered abandoning it many times, questioning the use of his rare moments alone, but for once, he saw it to the end.
Maybe it was because he never considered sharing it with anyone else but his family. He had no intention of creating for the public ever again, but Leonardo realized it didn’t mean never creating again.
Using his inspiration to please his family wasn’t so bad. Maybe not as often as inspiration struck or he wouldn’t have the space, but making something special every once in a while was good enough to pass time and show what his family and the memories he had of them were important for him.
After all, they were the ones who inspired him to enjoy the moment instead of just letting everything for later, or thinking that nothing mattered much because he had all the time in the world. And even for the rest of eternity, they would be his inspiration for how he would live his life, to watch his family continue to grow and change and he would continue creating for them.

Life on mars!!! (The TV show not the song!)
Life on mars is a british crime drama from 2006. Initially set in 2003, it follows detective Sam Tyler, a 'modern' police officer who wakes up in 1973 following a car accident. Is he mad? In a coma? Or really back in time? This show CONSUMED while I was watching it. Like dreaming about it, constantly reference it, crying at the finale consumed. Brainrot of the year for sure.
So in answer to your questions:
My favourite character is the one and only Sam Tyler, The Character Of All Time. He's cringe yet based, the most sensible one yet also the most unhinged. hes also definitely has poor little meow meow energy. He can flip from cool and collected to crying and shaking and John Simm absolutely delivers in the role. You asked about whether it includes debates on reality and morality and yes!!! YES like that is the core of Life on Mars. Behind the tense action, engaging mysteries, hilarious dialogue, imersive set and costume design and great acting that is what LoM is all about!! Like is he in a coma? Back in time? Suffering from a break from reality? Trapped inside a 70s' cop show? (Oh yeah important detail LoM is a parody of 70s British cop shows and as someone who's into media history that's fun but also you don't have to be super familiar with the genre to enjoy it though). Ahh god I really want to properly get into it but that would be spoilers!! Let me just say the ending was simpulatiosly one of the most confusing yet satisfying things I've seen, amd the show can dip into the slightly ubsurd from time to time. And If you want discussions on morality it's the right show. Like 'Does it condem or condone the police?' 'Is it okay to do questionable things for the 'greater good'?' And what is that?' 'Should marginalised people try to work within an unjust system?' 'Should you try to change or take down the system, and is they even possible?' Sam Tyler positions himself as a sort of 'unwitting crusader' for equal rights (especially women's rights), under the guise of being 'just a decent bloke', but how appropriate and sincere are his efforts, considering his privileged position in society both as a white man and police officer? Honestly please please just watch the show I'm doing such a bad job explaining it.
Music is very much important to Life on Mars (as the name might suggest). Like the song Life on Mars plays diegeticaly in his car as Sam suffers the accident than becomes non diegetic as he wakes up in the past. And the show is filled with 70s music, if that's your thing.
Honestly all the characters are so much fun. They're all some shade of flawed and some are like, downright awful people, yet the show still can make you enjoy sympathise for them!? I'd say by the end Sam's little detective squad is like the world's most dysphunctional found family. But they're all completely iconic, just so entertaining, and definitely some good pathetic guy rep. Oh talking about rep there's no explicit queer rep (since that was on your list), but there is some fun homoerotic tension between Sam and his dci boss Gene Hunt who I can't belive I haven't mentioned yet because he's like the most iconic thing from Life on Mars. Like if you know anything about it, chances are it's him. His deal is that he's bigoted against basically everyone except himself, which sounds like a recipe for some pretty cringe inducing comedy but he's never presented as in the right for this and its funny in its ridiculousness rather than making fun of minorities. Like there's a scene where he straight up tells Sam that he's gay for being in love with a woman, completely unironically.
That's like the basics, and I suppose there are some caveats. The show is approaching 20 years old and it hasn't aged 100% perfectly (although I wouldn't condem it as capital P Problematic). (Particularly, I think it could do better with its sparse poc rep). Also to be responsible I should say there's basically a content warning for every bigotry and phobia under the sun because my god these characters can be awful people sometimes. But the show never condones it and although it's made light of, you're laughing at the bigots. (Like for example I'm autistic and while a small part of me instinctively tensed up at the ableism, I never felt I was being made fun of). It's not a show for people who can't handle nuanced characters or themes. But I really don't want to put you off because I must reiterate how good it is.
Every episode feels like eating a really rich satisfying meal and I'd look at the time bar and be amazed I'm only like 20 minutes in each time. I think a testament to its quality is the fact that I watched it with my family and we all loved it despite the fact we tend to have differing views on what we like to get out of media nd how we enjoy it. Me and my sister would talk and talk about the show as we watched it and argue about theories and characters- it's incredibly engaging. If you initally liked BBC Sherlock for being complex and deep but ultimately left really dispointed (like I was) then it's definitely the show for you because it has all the reality bending, complexity, twisting plot lines and deep imagery that BBC Sherlock claimed to have but actually delivers on it in a satisfying, thought provoking way and treats its characters and audience with so much more respect. There were so many opportunities they could have dropped the ball but they always keep a firm hold on it from start to finish.
So on to the practicalities: there's two series (seasons) comprising 8 episodes of 1 hour each. So 16 hours of show overall (although it feels like more in the best possible way). In the UK (where both it and I am from) it's very easy to watch, being on bbc iplayer and also fairly easy to pick up on dvd second hand (that's how I watched it). But outside of the uk I actually don't know how you legally access it (of course you can find everything online illegally!). Also there's lots of other reigion specific adaptations, (including a US one) but I'm talking about the british one and haven't seen any others. Finally, there's a sequal show called Ashes to Ashes, which has some cross over. I've heard good things about it and am watching it soon (it's also on iplayer), but haven't yet.
Few! That was a lot but I still feel I only scraped the surface. I hope that wasn't too much! Thank you for the opportunity to info dump. If you do check it out I hope you enjoy it. It was popular with the general British public when it aired (although I wouldn't know I was tiny and small at the time), but has not enjoyed the same fame and attention as other classic late 00's British TV like Doctor who or Sherlock, which I think is a big shame. The fandom is very little but incredibly passionate :)

that's where you come in. yes, you. i know that a lot of my wonderful lovely dear mutuals have several hyperfixations that i don't. and i am interested in adopting your hyperfixations as my own.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters: Uzui Tengen x Reader | Modern AU Synopsis: Sequel of Parallel Lines Content Warnings: profanity, smut, sleep paralysis, eventual violence, blo0d, slight manga spoilers (tho i strayed away from the original plot but yeh), can be a bit psychologically triggering for some so proceed cautiously.
Previous Chapter: Prologue Next Chapter: Chapter 2
author’s note; This is the first time I've been so enthralled with a chapter while writing it. I had to take pauses since it was too much for me lol. It's all because of my hormones, I'm afraid. Anyway! Here's a new chapter for you; I hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much for your continued support of this work. It means a lot to me that you like and comment.
Maybe because I was writing the chapter while listening to this song on repeat.
If you like, you can listen to it while reading. 😏
-
A few hours earlier, in Kagaya's office
Silence hung heavy in Kagaya's office as he observed his colleague, who knelt on the floor with his head bowed in contrition. Tengen remained in that posture, seeking forgiveness for concealing such a profound secret.
Tengen had approached the master to disclose his relationship with you.
"Tengen-kun, I hold no blame against you. Please raise your head," Kagaya said, his voice gentle yet firm.
"But I still want to apologize. I am a Hashira, the one entrusted with the duty to protect humanity from demons, yet I formed a bond with one and even fell in love with her. I... I don't regret it, but I still want to apologize for betraying your trust."
To Tengen's astonishment, Kagaya smiled and lowered himself to Tengen's level, kneeling beside him. "Kagaya-san—"
"I understand your perspective entirely, Tengen-kun. Life in the past was complicated and burdened with responsibilities from such a young age that it is natural to harbor a bit of selfishness."
Kagaya extended his hand, inviting Tengen to stand up. "I will never judge you for falling in love. If you can develop such deep feelings for someone considered an adversary, it can only indicate that she is a genuine person. She even aided you in defeating the Upper Moon Demon, didn't she?"
"Still..."
"All that is in the past, Tengen-kun. Muzan's tyranny has come to an end, and Y/N has been granted a second chance by divine intervention, implying she has already atoned for her sins. It is time for you to forgive yourself as well."
"In truth, there is something else I wish to inform you of," Tengen continued, his voice tinged with concern.
Kagaya raised an eyebrow, visibly intrigued by what Tengen had to say.
"Y/N... she has been experiencing nightmares from her past life, and she spoke that person's name."
"What exactly do you mean?" Kagaya inquired, his curiosity piqued.
"I'm not entirely sure, Kagaya-san. It could be that Y/N is experiencing withdrawal from that person, or it may be something more. I wanted to inform you, just in case the situation worsens."
Kagaya's expression turned grave as he asked, "How is Y/N now?"
"For now, she is doing fine," Tengen reassured him.
"Does she have any recollection of her previous incarnation?"
"No, she doesn't. She only dreams about it and forgets upon waking."
Both men fell into contemplation, their thoughts racing at a rapid pace. No concrete evidence had surfaced yet, but their intuitions and suspicions were enough to unsettle them.
"She died prematurely, and it hasn't been long since you two crossed paths back then. That could be why she can't recognize you or him," Kagaya murmured, his voice filled with contemplation. "Regardless, having her under our protection makes it easier for us to safeguard her."
While Tengen found solace in his master's words, he couldn't shake off his concern for your well-being. There was no way he would allow you to meet the same fate again.
"Perhaps it was fate that brought her to us," Kagaya added, a gentle smile gracing his face.
"All the more reason for me to dedicate myself to her protection. If I let her slip away again, I don't think I could ever forgive myself," Tengen declared, determination shining in his eyes.
Kagaya placed a fatherly hand on Tengen's shoulder and reassured him, "We won't let her die. She's already a part of our family. If our suspicions prove true, we will have the advantage this time. No, we will stop him before he even has a chance to act."
"Thank you for hearing me out, Kagaya-san. And for everything else. I owe you a great deal." Tengen expressed his gratitude sincerely.
After exchanging a few more words, Tengen bid his boss farewell and hurried back to his desk, eager to join you and the others for lunch.
Though a hint of uneasiness still lingered, talking to his master had eased his mind and invigorated his resolve.
*
After many late nights and meetings, the big day has finally arrived—the Business Expo. This year's Expo was a hit, and everyone is over the moon. The program went smoothly, leaving all our investors thrilled.
It's time to celebrate tonight, and you know the after-party will be a feast. You've all earned it after pouring your hearts into this project. And, of course, there will be champagne—essential for any party!
Now, you're getting ready for the party at your place. Kagaya suggested everyone head home to prep after the midday program ended. Your heart races as you get ready; it's been beating fast since you got home.
Tengen asked you to be his date, and you said yes. You were ecstatic when he confessed his feelings for you. But alongside the excitement, there's a hint of nervousness.
Crushes are fun, but when they like you back, it's a whole new ballgame.
What do you do next?
Tengen wasted no time in showing his affection, always respectful. You haven't confessed your feelings outright, but you both know there's something there.
You really like him.
A lot.
So, why not give this a shot?
As the doorbell rings, you spritz perfume and take a deep breath. With light steps, you rush to greet Tengen. He looks dashing in his sleek suit and styled hair.
"Hey," you say, smiling.
Tengen kisses your hand gently. "Hello. You look gorgeous, especially in that emerald dress."
"You're not looking too bad yourself," you chuckle, your cheeks turning pink.
He's made himself comfortable in your living room as you get ready.
"I noticed you've changed things around here," he says.
"You noticed? I wanted to spruce up the place, but finding the time and money was tough." You laugh sheepishly as your own eyes wander around your humble abode.
"You did a great job. Your place feels cozy now," he compliments, before noticing you struggling with your heels.
"Let me help you with that," he offers.
He kneels down, helping you with your shoes with a gentle touch.
"All set?" he asks as you nod with a smile.
You interlock fingers as he suggests making a grand entrance at the party.
"Let's not," you chuckle nervously.
He teases, "Don't you want to be the star of the night? But then again, I'm not ready to share you just yet."
"Somebody's being possessive," you tease back.
Tengen looks at you with a smile before focusing on driving. He brings your hand to his lips, causing your cheeks to burn.
"I'm a possessive guy," he admits.
"Me too," you confess. "I don't like sharing."
His hand finds its way to your thigh, and you gasp softly. He looks at you with a playful sparkle in his eyes.
"It's good we're on the same page," he says.
*
The celebration is in full swing, with everyone having a blast.
Zenitsu and Inosuke are busy with the chocolate fondue while you finally get introduced to everyone else you haven't met yet.
You hit it off right away with Tanjirou, Nezuko's brother, who Tengen says is admired by all for his stellar performance. Zenitsu even jokes that Tanjirou's like a human lie detector with his sharp senses, which is funny coming from Zenitsu, who's pretty perceptive himself.
You also pay your respects to Kagaya, the company's founder.
He has a warm, fatherly vibe, and you can tell he's got a good heart.
Everyone in the organization seems to know or suspect that you and Tengen are an item, and Sanemi even remarks that he saw it coming with the way you two looked at each other in the parking lot.
Thankfully, everyone's supportive, which eases your worries about whether they approve of you, especially considering Tengen's previous marriage.
It's no secret that Tengen's quite the catch.
Heads turn wherever he goes—he's practically a celebrity in the company, being the Director of Marketing and Communications, aka the Face of the Company.
"Wow, you look absolutely stunning, Y/N!" Nezuko exclaimed, her enthusiasm palpable as she bounced around effortlessly, despite her 5-inch stilettos.
"Thank you, Nezuko-chan. Honestly, everyone here looks incredible," you replied modestly, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the compliments.
Glancing around the room, you couldn't help but notice the elegance of everyone's attire. Mitsuri and Obanai, in particular, caught your eye with their matching outfits.
Shinobu from Hana Enterprises looked equally stunning, her ensemble perfectly complementing Giyuu's attire.
The cheers ring out, glasses clinking, as Zenitsu raises his wine glass in a toast. "Cheers to a successful event, everyone!" he announces, prompting a round of applause from the table.
Zenitsu grins mischievously, adding, "And to my man Tengen right here, the bastard's off the market again!"
"Yeah, congratulations to both of you!" Nezuko exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over. "You look so lovely together—a match made in heaven!"
You chuckle at Nezuko's enthusiasm, teasing, "That's a bit excessive, Nezuko-chan. But you and Zenitsu look good too."
Zenitsu wraps an arm around Nezuko, declaring proudly, "My Nezuko's the most stunning woman in the entire universe!"
Nezuko blushes at the compliment, laughing as Tengen playfully scolds Zenitsu, "Stop that; you're embarrassing Nezuko."
Amidst the banter, Tengen turns to you, saying, "Are you having fun?"
“Yeah, it feels nice to simply vibe after working so hard on the expo; I'm delighted everything went well," you agree as you sip your wine.
"Glad to hear that, ma chérie," Tengen says as he drops his head to kiss the top of your head.
"You speak French?" you tease him.
"A tiny bit," Tengen murmurs. "I just know a few words. I'm not very fluent."
"Hmm... wait, keep still; you have confetti on your hair." You place your wine glass down to remove the confetti from his hair.
You show it to him and meekly say, "There."
"Give that to me," Tengen says, holding out his hand.
"The confetti?"
"Yeah, I want to keep it," he says, nodding.
"Here," you say, handing him the flimsy paper.
"Now that the business expo is over, all that remains is the gala, right?" you ask, looking up at him.
Tengen nods, his arm wrapping around your waist, drawing you closer like Zenitsu had done with Nezuko before. "Be my date again?"
You giggle, your gaze wandering around your table; everyone is preoccupied with their own business, so you summon the guts to lean in and kiss him full on the lips, saying, "I'd love to."
He twists his lips into a small smirk as he raises an eyebrow at you.
"I was trying not to kiss you because I wanted our first kiss to be memorable, but you beat me to it."
"Are you mad?" You challenge him in a playful manner.
"Not at all, but I do want another one."
"By all means," you say, putting your finger to your lips and softly tapping them as if to entice him in.
"Don't mind if I do."
Tengen goes in for another kiss on your lips. His kisses linger a little longer, his gaze piercing through yours.
Wanting more, Tengen takes it upon himself to lay down another smooch before eventually drawing away, but then he goes to your exposed shoulder, smelling your perfume before chuckling sensually, his voice dropping an octave, and you swear a shudder ran down your spine.
"You cheeky vixen."
"What did I do?" you chuckle.
"It's your perfume. It's addictive."
"It's just perfume?"
"Still."
You laugh. "Want me to give you a bottle?"
"I'd like that. I'll give you mine too," he says, nodding.
You were about to start another round of chit-chat when Rengoku summoned everyone to the dance floor, declaring that it was time to get the celebration started.
Tengen steps up and extends his hand, inviting you to dance, which you happily oblige.
You're going ahead of him while he's taking off his coat, so when you realize you're walking alone, you turn to find Tengen catching up with you.
You smile at him, causing the man in front of you to swoon.
"Let's go," he says, with a goofy grin.
"Okay."
I'll protect you this time, Y/N.
I'd gladly give my life for you.
Until then, I'll treasure the time I have left with you.
Of course, the ultimate goal is to be able to grow old with you, but I'll take what I can get.
It's more than enough that you're here with me right now.

Plot relevant Fun but useless ☆ I have more to say if you want to know more
These are just in the order they're in on my account, I'm too lazy to sort these. Link to wiki on their names
Pure Vanilla Cookie ☆
Essentially cookie Jesus, through a lot of design motifs and plot points of his. King of one of the three main kingdoms, and sort of the leader of them. Lots of spoilers in his backstory so I won't get too into it
Dark Cacao Cookie
King of another of the three kingdoms. He's a powerful warrior, though after The Great War (tm) he isolates himself and focuses on protecting his kingdom. His son is one of the antagonists, though he disowned him after a couple murder attempts
Moonlight Cookie
Created to be a very powerful cookie by a group of wizards, who are kind of treated as gods. Moonlight Cookie outlived the wizards that made her, and is one of the only people living in their city still. She looks over the world of dreams. She also has a kinda-canon gf ♡ and an emo older brother
Black Pearl Cookie
Eldritch Abomination. It's estimated she's about one human tall (the other characters are normal gingerbread man sized). She likes drowning people and breaking things. Milf
Frost Queen Cookie
Kind of a bitch. Imagine any other ice queen. That's her
Stardust Cookie ☆
Moonlight's emo older brother. He was supposed to take on her role, originally, but the wizards considered him a failure and cast him out to die in the deep dark void of space. He had a brief villain arc, but he's chill now. Imagine Dabi with less fire
Sherbet Cookie
Works under Frost Queen Cookie after he was reincarnated as a spirit. Jack Frost RotG
Capsaicin Cookie
#GoTeamScovillia He looks like an asshole but he's just a himbo. I'm not done with the event story yet so I'm not positive on details, but he seems like he's had issues controlling his strength/fire magic in the past. Very confident and strong. He exists solely to show school spirit I'm happy for him
Clotted Cream Cookie
Polititian/ambassador for a neighboring kingdom that took in Vanillite refugees after The Great War (tm). I'm not done reading his stories either, but I hear he's a manipulative little shit. He's charming though so I like him anyway
Werewolf Cookie ☆
Unironically the only reason I started playing. Nobody but me cares about him. As the name implies, he's a werewolf, though he transforms whenever startled or upset instead of just under the full moon. He was shunned from his village after protecting a friend and is now very isolated and emo
Licorice Cookie ☆
One of the main antagonists. He's so fucking pathetic. He too was shunned from his village where he grew up in poverty. They hated him because he was only good at necromancy and sucked at literally everything else. Everyone bullies him constantly. He cries every time he loses a fight. The only people he gets along with are his nonbinary pets and his nonbinary child so I declare him trans by default. He is only evil because nobody else wants him. He helped form a kpop group specifically to fight BTS and then got beat up by BTS. You cannot imagine how lame he is /pos
Vampire Cookie ☆
He's lazy, he's an alcoholic, and his sister hates his ass
Red Velvet Cookie ☆
He is surrounded by dogs 24/7. He joined the antagonists at a very young age when the BBEG, Dark Enchantress Cookie, found him injured and took him in to presumably groom him. He has a prosthetic cake arm and a prosthetic eye, and his job is to breed and train dogs to fight for the villains. He has religious trauma. He was also in the kpop band
Cotton Cookie
Saved Sherbet Cookie from Frost Queen Cookie. She likes sheep
Pinecone Cookie
The Lorax but a baby and annoying
Prune Juice Cookie ☆
Similar backstory to Licorice Cookie, the only magic he's good at is potions so he got bitched at by his teachers and peers a lot. Competing against Capsaicin Cookie and another character that hasn't been released yet
Poison Mushroom Cookie ☆
Nonbinary twelve year old that loves drugs. They're also very fond of the other villains, and follow around Licorice Cookie. They're not even evil, they just love neurotoxins that much. Also in the kpop group
Sparkling Cookie
Sexy bartender
Herb Cookie
Plant mom. He's like if Basil Omori didn't need therapy and was an adult man
Squid Ink Cookie
Sad little octopus baby that can turn into an eldritch abomination
Cocoa Cookie
Loves hot chocolate and classical music
Milky Way Cookie
The ultimate failgirl of all time. She's the conductor of a dream train, and she follows zero rules, refuses to work, and messes up constantly. In a fun way though
Cream Unicorn Cookie
They can transform into a unicorn or a cookie/person. They really love an old abandoned amusement park
Purple Yam Cookie
I love him so much, why does he have to lowkey be a racist caricature. Despite all cookies coming from an oven, he freaks out about it constantly and is pissed that nobody else is upset about it
Pastry Cookie
Character foil of Red Velvet Cookie. She's a nun
Blueberry Pie Cookie
The only other resident of the wizards' city, alongside Moonlight Cookie. She keeps a library of ancient books which she refuses to leave
Pomegranate Cookie ☆
She's soso gay for Dark Enchantress Cookie. She used to be the high priestess of her village, but betrayed them to pursue evil after having a vision. Everyone hates her because she's a dick and a woman but I love her. Please observe her lesbianisms
Tumblr media
Parfait Cookie
She's a little rockstar. I have no idea why she gets shipped with Licorice so much
Cream Puff Cookie
Baby witch and very bad at it
Wildberry Cookie
Hollyberry Cookie's personal assistant and body guard. He's very serious and I want to kiss him
Mala Sauce Cookie
Chief of the Mala Tribe. Also lowkey giving racist energy
Moon Rabbit Cookie
She loves rice cakes and can turn into a bunny
Macaron Cookie
Plays in parades and is followed by animals
Carol Cookie
She sings. She's a christmas tree. Cringe
Twizzly Gummy Cookie
Jinx LoL is that you??? She's a time and space criminal and she's fucking nuts
Pumpkin Pie Cookie ☆
She's like if Korekiyo was a weird little girl. Her dead sister is posessing a doll that talks to her and attacks people for her
Space Donut
A little alien that escaped imprisonment and befriended Stardust Cookie once his villain arc was over. They're besties now
Dark Choco Cookie
Emo edgelord and Dark Cacao's disowned son. He left his kingdom after being taken over by a cursed sword and joined the antagonists "because he deserved to suffer". After trying to kill his dad he left the antagonists and is now just emo in a peaceful kind of way
Mint Choco Cookie
Plays classical music
Almond Cookie
Cop
Crunchy Chip Cookie
Has Red Velvet Cookie's job except for the Chocolate Kingdom
Candy Diver Cookie
Autistic about the ocean. Nonverbal. Keeps finding underwater cryptids
Chili Pepper Cookie
One fifth of the main protagonists' party. She's only tagging along so she can find things to steal, and she's kind of a dick, but nostalgia helps her out I guess
Raspberry Cookie
Mean lesbian ♡ Competed to take over the Hollyberry Kingdom's throne, but came in second to its actual heir
Prophet Cookie
Why didn't they name him Fortune Cookie. Old prophet that gives you free money sometimes
Eclair Cookie
History buff. He runs the guild museum and teaches at the magic school
Tea Knight Cookie
Retired dragon-slayer
Cherry Blossom Cookie
Older sister to cherry cookie. She loves picnics
Madeleine Cookie
Self-centered and cocky paladin but I like him anyway for some reason
Mango Cookie
Loves infodumping about his home, the ocean, and his boat
Sorbet Shark Cookie
A shark given the ability to live with the cookies as a person by Black Pearl Cookie
Rye Cookie
Bounty hunter that especially hates Chili Pepper Cookie
Fig Cookie
Scottish forest spirit who I hate to hear talk. She's a centaur with the body of a deer
Tiger Lily Cookie
We have exited "kinda racist" territory I'm not even talking about this one
Black Raisin Cookie ☆
My emo wife ♡♡♡ Leader of an impoverished village Pure Vanilla Cookie took shelter in after The Great War (tm). She loves her village a lot and takes zero shit
Lilac Cookie
He's so fucking pretty. Master assassin and very good at dancing
Affogato Cookie
Manipulative advisor to Dark Cacao Cookie. He helped the antagonists attempt regicide so that he could take the throne, but it didn't work
Espresso Cookie
Teaches at the magic academy
Kumiho Cookie
A little fox that wants to be a cookie so badly she learned transformation magic. She loves flirting with people
Choco Werehound Brute ☆
A cake-dog that Licorice Cookie raised. It uses three sets of pronouns and has canonically dressed in drag as well as joining the kpop group from way up there ^^
Strawberry Crepe Cookie
