What is your opinion on the Beetlejuice 2 Dream Theory?

This theory?

My opinion is that it's very likely to be true. I walked away from the cinema extremely happy with all of the shippy moments—so happy I hadn't even considered theorising anything yet, however my first thought about the ending was, So it was all Lydia's dream?

I read through the post and was blown away by how much sense it made, but I think it helped push me to believe it when my friend sent me this

My friend is not interested in theorising or shipping, and has no connection to the BJ fandom, he's just a horror fan. Yet his interpretation of the movie's ending was a summarised version of the whole dream theory. Isn't it far more romantic to imagine Lydia having spent her life with Betelgeuse, and he's indulging her with a dream of her own child? Considering they both have a 'psychic connection', I'm not convinced that Lydia hasn't been thinking about BJ just as much as he's been thinking about her.

This user pointed out both of Betelgeuse's love songs are by artists named Richard, conveniently the name of Lydia's previous partner. The same partner who was described as a horror fan that loved playing pranks, and dressed as a Beetlejuice lookalike for Halloween.

Looks like Beetlejuice, acts like Beetlejuice—either Lydia is equally obsessed, or it's BJ projecting himself onto Lydia's human lover within the dream. Watching the movie with new eyes, I noticed in the "Later, fucker" scene that BJ is sitting in the same place Richard sat while working at the border control. "Astrid" herself has a name related to the celestial bodies, much like "Betelgeuse". You can either take this as a romantic parallel, or Tim is trying to show us that Richard's creation is based on Lydia's fixation with Beetlejuice.

Dream sequences often use characters to represent something within the dreamer's psyche. It's like an abstract analysis of the way that character thinks and feels. Astrid's sequence within the dream shows Lydia's material desires—it confirms everything was based off of what Lydia wanted, which included getting married to a 'monster' (in the sequence of events, Astrid marries a guy dressed as a vampire), and then gives birth to the Beetlebaby. I know in the first movie there is a reference to the horror movie "The Fly", so I imagine this was too.

Did anyone notice the dream sequence watching Astrid didn't actually have a clear indication for when it began? It transitioned from the movie as if everything was a dream right from the start.

Let's not forget BJ straight up looking into the camera and saying "I love a good dream sequence". Lol.

My other reasoning for believing the dream theory is what Winona said about Lydia. Winona and Tim are close friends. Winona pitched the idea of having Betelgeuse and Lydia be the endgame ship in her words, and she happily took part in this movie. If Tim had rejected the idea, why would Winona reprise her role for a story she didn't agree with? Winona knows that Lydia is Tim's self insert (Tim has said many times he relates the most to Lydia), so why would Tim approve of all the shippy moments if he opposed Winona's pitch? No one knows Lydia like him!

Winona said in this interview that she hadn't imagined Lydia ever becoming a mother, but that after a while it started to make sense. She does not elaborate on that, but explains her idea for Lydia was that she would end up a spinster in the attic. If you read the dream theory, it highlights how the movie begins with Lydia in the attic, and then transitions to Lydia's TV show, but the background is still the attic. I found the whole film very dreamlike in this way, and I think the fact that Tim has said Wizard of Oz (a movie where the girl wakes up after a dream, in which those she knew acted as characters within the sequence) is one of his favourite movies helps to put it into effect.

And finally...

It's Lydia Deetz. Lydia loves the strange and unusual.. do you really think she wasn't curious enough to contact Beej again?

A Bleating Heart - Alastor x GN! Reader

You were reading your book in Alastor's armchair, taking in the heat that radiated from the mint green flames of the fireplace. When you heard a groan to your rear, you paused. You looked behind you, only to see Alastor tossing and turning onto his side. You couldn't help your frown, watching as Alastor's brows furrowed. The Radio Demon was frustrated, his cheek smashed into his pillow aggressively. 

"...everything alright, dear?" You ask softly, recalling that he was 'laying down' to get rid of his headache. Though you knew that Alastor wasn't one for sleep, you kept quiet and content all the same. But when he shook his head, pointing directly to it, you understood perfectly. 

" 'Antlers still bothering you, huh...? Headache?" 

Alastor hummed lowly, turning over and laying face down into his bed. While he was muffled by a pillow, you could barely make out what he said:

" I loathe shedding... It hasn't even begun, and-- oh, they itch-- to no end..." 

"And I assume that doesn't help your headache either?" 

Alastor grumbled, unable to be upset at your gentle pestering. You doted on him like his mother, a quality he would never admit to loving about you," ...Not a lick, dear..." 

You innocently stand from the armchair, walking over to Alastor's bedside," Would... Would it helped if you laid your head in my lap?" 

Alastor raises his head up slightly, eyes narrowed," I hardly see how that could help in this predicament..." You sigh, gently rolling Alastor over onto his back before sitting in the space he used to occupy. Begrudgingly, he did not stop you, but his eyes followed you cautiously. 

"Just trust me... Okay?" 

Alastor's expression soured. Trust is a hard-earned thing to receive from him. The Radio Demon, in all his glory, was slow to make acquaintances, and slower to give out trust. But, he relented, allowing you to sit beside him comfortably. When you patted your lap expectantly, Alastor complied. Due to his antlers, he awkwardly laid sideways on his bed, knees rising and coming together as his head finally met your lap. Thankfully, you would not be disemboweled by his accursed antlers tonight. 

When you smiled down to him, Alastor simply closed his eyes, unable to look your way without feeling embarrassed. This was well outside of his comfort zone. He was feeling incredibly vulnerable while his body did everything to antagonize him. He felt like he was between a rock and a hard place, despite your plush thighs cradling his head.

However, when he felt your hand brush against his hair, scratching gently, his throat ran dry. All nerves and stiffeness became lesser; like the rest of his senses, they became dulled. 

The touch was... Foreign, soft... But not unwelcome. It was soothing, even. When you continued to touch, your hands working in subtle circles against his scalp, he couldn't help the quiet, pleased hum that left him. 

" 'Feels good, my buck?" 

Alastor cracked one eye open, his smile wavering,"...please don't make me say it out loud," Alastor said quietly, a chuckle rising in his throat. You shrugged, not minding his shyness. 

"Hmm, it would be so much cuter if you did, though~" 

When your hand moved to an antler, scratching gently at the base, a full-body tremor ran through his neck down to his hooves. His knees knocked together, a quiet, animalistic noise tumbling out of him. You blink a few times, surprised by the noise, and decided to repeat the action. When a meek, content bleat hit your ears, your eyes nearly doubled in size. You were beaming down at Alastor, a large, giddy inhale expanding your chest. Your heart throbbed at the subconscious gesture. 

Meanwhile, Alastor's eyes were slammed shut, much tighter than before. His heart was racing with anxiety, his palms suddenly feeling clammy. 

Why. Why now, of all times, could he not keep his pathetic little ticks at bay? Of course he found comfort in your company, but-- 

...Maybe he should have used his words, after all. 

"Alastor, was that...?" 

"If you value your life, you will never speak of this again." 

You throw your free hand up defensively, a coy smile on your face," Oh sure, sure... Of course. Whatever you say, Alastor." When a second hand joined the other, lightly scratching at the base of his other antler, that small, high pitched bleat bounced right out of him. 

"Mmm... Yes... Yes, not a word, mon ange... Not a single word... but this-- this is fine for now..." 

You chuckle, increasing the pressure you applied as Alastor melted into your touch. 

"If you continue to be this adorable, I would never speak again, if it meant you stayed like this forever~" Alastor's hands folded together, laying on his chest. Soon enough his knees fell apart, creating a wide 'v'. He looks to you with both eyes as his brow twitches. 

"And what fun would that be? I rather enjoy our conversations, cher." You nearly snorted, surprised that Alastor didn't realize you were joking. 

You laugh, your shoulders shaking with an effort to be quiet as Alastor's legs finally gave out, hanging lazily off of the bed. When your hands moved higher up his antlers, you noticed his legs swinging back and forth idly. You wondered if he noticed, or if this was yet another subconscious action. 

" Fine, fine... I promise to keep talking~ but only if I get to keep spoiling you like this." 

Alastor feels his heart squeeze at the notion, a warmth spreading across his cheeks and ears. He refused to confirm or deny your request with words, instead shimmying his shoulders to sink further into your lap. An open-mouthed sigh was your only response as you lightly dragged your nails across one of his points, his hands untangling from one another. His body almost felt like liquefied, completely and utterly relaxed, taking up an obnoxious amount of space on his bed. And for once, he allowed himself a moment to enjoy it while in someone else's presence. 

He felt safe... Immensely so. But he would never profess to that to you so soon. 

For now, he was content with you playing with his hair, scratching his irritable antlers while he listened to you speak. Quite frankly, it wouldn't take long for Alastor's mind to shut down, his body losing the fight to slumber. When you noticed his breathing toggle to a steady, silent repetition, you resigned yourself to being a pillow. If you were honest, you would sooner die again than move from that spot. You would only permit that once Alastor woke up again, head clear and eyes soft... You wondered how he would look waking up, the adorable thought alone making you feel a surge of glee.

You didn't mind the sensation of pins and needles settling in your legs, knowing that this was a rare moment. Why interrupt something so fleeting? So precious?

You couldn't help but watch as Alastor laid in your lap, unmoving and completely slack. You decided you wouldn't tell him about how he lost his smile while he slept. In the rarest of moments, his lips were agape, formed into a flat, horizontal line. You'd tuck that secret into the back of your mind for safe keeping... A fond memory you'd hang on to for the rest of your afterlife. (A secret almost as precious as his quiet snores, which started when you played with his hair again.) You almost squeaked when Alastor bleated again, much softer than when he was awake. Yes, it would be best if you never mentioned it... Alastor would die from sheer embarrassment alone, you think.

You let out a tired yawn, your mind wandering. Honestly? If you were really, truly in Hell... Well, this was a pretty splendid way to spend it, wasn't it? Why seek forgiveness and redemption, when your entire world was in your lap? And with that thought in mind, you decided to get some sleep, your head resting against the cool wood of Alastor's headboard.

Idk if you've talked about it before, but have you seen the voice lines for Crowley's card? At the end people were saying he implies HE'S the one who brought the MC to Twisted Wonderland👀

I am not sure that that is how I would interpret his line!

The original Japanese is 「貴方みたいな勤勉で優秀な生徒がいてくれて助かっています。これからも問題児を“監督”してくださいね」

The form of the verb "help" makes this difficult to put into English...literally translated it may be something close to, "It's proving helpful to have diligent, excellent students like you available. Please do continue to ‘supervise’ the troublemakers."?

A vaguer translation might be "It helps to have diligent, excellent students like you," and I can see how that could be interpreted into the implication that he arranged for students like the prefect to be on hand for assistance.

But given the form of "help," I don't think there is that much depth to read into! :> There is nothing to insinuate that he is glad he brought the prefect here, or that he was involved in their being here at all.

Of course there is a lot that is still unknown about Crowley, and the theory that he intentionally brought the prefect over to make something happen (or to keep something from happening 👀) is a popular one (and very fun to think about!).

But if I were attempting to champion that theory, I personally would not use this particular line as proof! It could, of course, be setting a foundation so that a future reveal does not blindside the players 👀 But the line by itself is vague, which is probably by design!

And there were two more Crowley lines that I found interesting!

「私の全力を知りたい？随分と怖いもの知らずですねえ……学園長として心配になってしまいます」

"You want to know the full extent of my power? You certainly know no fear…as headmage, that worries me."

Crowley is not the first character to comment on the audaciousness/fearlessness of the prefect: Malleus has a very similar line but their phrasing is different, with Crowley saying 怖いもの知らず, while Malleus says 恐れを知らない. Malleus repeats this same phrasing at least twice in the original game, though it it written in two different ways on EN.

Both Crowley and Malleus' phrasings are two ways of saying something that could be localized as the same thing in English, but subtle turns of phrase are proving to be very important in the original game.

For example, when you set Crowley to the homescreen he will say, "私をお呼びですか？"

And this is an interesting parallel to Malleus', "僕を呼んだ?"

Malleus’ phrase tends to be rewritten as various different expressions on EN such as “You called?,” “Was it you who called me?” and “Did you need something?”

But in the original game he always uses the exact same phrase, which is different from Crowley’s “私をお呼びですか？” while meaning the same thing.

While it would normally not be an issue for a localizer to take something that seems repetitive in one language and give it more flair in the other, it seems that this repetition was intentional and maybe should have been kept consistent to the original game?

Especially because English does not have things like different words for "I" like Japanese does (Crowley uses "watashi" while Malleus uses "boku") to help tell one person's phrasing apart from another's.

EN experienced a similarly unfortunate problem with Idia’s, “Leave it to your big bro,” with the phrase getting rewritten into "I'll get you trilling like a canary" and "I got this!" on EN, presumably before Aniplex USA realized that it was being repeated word-for-word for a reason.

Is it possible that the information that Aniplex USA receives in advance is limited, so they just do not know which of these phrases are safe to change and which need to be kept accurate to the original game?

With all the variations to Malleus' "You called for me?" on EN, Crowley has the potential to be localized with a phrase that is identical to at least one of Malleus' multiple English-language interpretations. In the original game, however, Malleus' phrasing is consistent, and completely different from the phrasing used by Crowley, while meaning the same thing! (and the "same but different" pattern has the potential to be very significant 👀)

𝒟𝒜ℛ𝒦 𝒮ℐ𝒟ℰ 𝒪ℱ 𝒟ℰ𝒱𝒜 𝒩𝒜𝒦𝒮ℋ𝒜𝒯ℛ𝒜𝒮?

Hey y’all(whoever may care to see this🙈)! I don’t typically do post like this but sometimes I like to jot down my thoughts related to spiritual themes! Anyway this post is sort of kinda going to relate to astrology, specifically Vedic, and is just a theory of mine that I’ve sort of observed—both within my life and others within texts—historical, religious, fictional, and so on. I’m not a professional AT ALL so please don’t come for me🫶🏼…but without further discussion imma get to it~

So the two figures above that are on the right hand side of the spirituality/religiously prominent figures (Rama and Christ) are Kaikeyi (image 1) and Judas Iscariot (image 2).

Kaikeyi was a princess of Kekaya (her home-kingdom) and radnyi or queen of Kosala (due to her being married off to the ruler of that kingdom, Dasharath, becoming his third wife) mentioned in the Ramayana. This place was also where Rama (the blue person in image 1) was born who also happened to be the deity Vishnu’s seventh incarnation in human flesh. Kaikeyi also happened to be the cause for Rama’s ten year exile which was of great spiritual significance for various reasons.

Moreover, Judas, who was a disciple of Christ, eventually betrayed him and that led to the event of the Cruxifixction and so on. This event, for known reasons, was too a very spiritual event that in a way needed to happen.

In all, these two figures, who have by the way been “demonized” in many instances in today’s world, were also catalyst and played key roles in major spiritual tasks executed in this world according to scriptures. *DISCLAMER* Although I saw some similarities with the point I’m trying to make within Judas’s story as well, I must say I don’t view them as strong as I would like them to be. Therefore, I will make a separate post with those points aside from this one. Thank uuu*

Getting to my point, this goes back to deva nakshatras for reasons I’m about to get into~

1 - 𝒦𝒶𝒾𝓀𝑒𝓎𝒾

Okay, so I’ve been familiar with both the scripture of the Ramayana and happened to recently read the thoughts or story of an author who gave a retelling of it from the perspective of Kaikeyi, the apparently “jealous/evil queen” who exiled Rama.

Not to say that the retelling in the book I read (by Vaishnavi Patel, btw) is of more importance than the actual mythological account because that is not what I’m getting at. I’m entertaining such things as a matter of theory—not dogma. The author herself even shared, “This book does not strive to be an exact retelling of any version of the Ramayana—it is Kaikeyi’s story, and thus it is its own story.”

Though, I must say, it is true that texts of old do tend to be messed with or altered for various reasons by certain people 👀 (if yk yk)—but of course, there is a lesson to be learned in all that is shared because it is certainly there for a reason.

Anyway, in the book by the author mentioned above, she starts from Kaikeyi’s POV stating, “I was born on the full moon under an auspicious constellation, the holiest of positions—much good it did me” (Vaishnavi 3).

After some calculations and contemplating based on Vedic astrology, the nakshatras therein, specifically those considered auspicious, and theoretically around the time that Kaikeyi was supposedly born, I came to the conclusion that it would make sense for Kaikeyi to have been born under the Pushya nakshatra.

Especially considering it is considered the “King of Nakshatras” due to how highly auspicious it is and its correlation to Jupiter (or Brihaspati) being the Guru (teacher) of the gods (or Devas) and themes of royalty and dharma.

Such things apparently stuck out to me in relation to Kaikeyi and her life situation. Not to mention, this nakshatra resides in the sign of Cancer, and Kaikeyi is the older twin of her brother Yudhajit 🤭.

Anyway, based on what I was working with, I also figured it fitting that she’d be born under Shravana as her moon nakshatra. Mainly due to the fact that Shravana resides in Capricorn (which has karmic themes—something that could have played a role in Kaikeyi’s main duty of being a catalyst for Rama’s exile) and the fact that Vishnu is the ruling deity of it. Vishnu happened to be what Rama, who Kaikeyi in a way was a mother figure to, was the incarnation of.

To me, it all just sort of “made sense,” but hear me out. In the book, and even in history, Kaikeyi was considered “god-forsaken” (mainly due to her nature and actions) or, as the author Patel put it, “gods-touched.” In essence, all her life, her relationship with divinity has, in a way, been strained because (as Kaikeyi in the book eventually finds out) due to her purpose and nature, they cannot interact with or affect her as they can other mortals.

With all such things considered, hypothetically, she was born under DEVA nakshatras (Deva, as in relating to the divine or gods as its nature).

So, considering the above and Kaikeyi’s persona, (hypothetically) being of deva nakshatras and “gods-touched/forsaken,” I must say, being of deva nakshatras (Ashvini being my moon nakshatra, Punarvasu my Ketu, and a few others that are prominent), I totally understand what she means with how she describes her situation in relation to the divine.

Now, I won’t say that my position with the public is as hers was (since she was demonized) or is destined to be (considering my Venus is domicile in Taurus in the 10th house, without malefic influence), yet, in an inner and spiritual sense, my relationship with the divine has been ever-present and complicated.

The feelings of betrayal, bitterness, disgust at times, and so on that Kaikeyi describes when speaking in relation to the gods that are involved heavily in the lives of those around her are honestly things I can heavily relate to.

But at the same time, I convince myself it’s not at all that bad 🙂🙊—like, it’s REALLY something I’m sure I came here to figure out.

My situation is not necessarily terrible (as I would feel Kaikeyi’s to have been), but it is interesting, due to a variety of factors I’m sure (but that could just be my Chiron in Pisces at 0 degrees opposite my ascendant and square my Sun—🙈).

I’m not 100% sure, of course, it’s just an observation or something like that—nothing I’ve said is law 🌚… but let me know, of course, if anyone else sort of gets what I’m saying! Thank you for reading to the end!!!

I am loving the beginning of this fic!! Lemme drop some theories/requests/ideas whatev you want to call them.

first thing’s first: I need her to BREAK OUT of this Saint Selene’s situation. Like, full prison break energy. Running down the hallways, dramatic alarms blaring, hospital gown flapping, her barefoot on cold tile, I’m talking full chaos. Bonus points if she steals a lab coat on her way out like, “No one will recognize me if I’m ✨official✨.”

Doctor Castillo? Aka Papa Pedro Pascal is secretly in on it. I’m manifesting that he doesn’t just work for the man, he is the man helping Omegas escape and find freedom. I want him handing her a burner phone and being like, “There’s a car waiting outside. Don’t look back.” (Side note: If there’s a secret Omega village hidden in the mountains where they grow organic veggies and overthrow society in peace?? YES PLEASE.)

She’s lost her blood family (BOO, HISS) but what if she finds a ragtag bunch of other runaway Omegas and Alphas who don’t suck?? I need her to go from crying in the hospital to ✨crushing the alpha patriarchy✨. Give me scenes of her learning how to control her scent, understanding her Omega instincts without shame, finding out she’s actually powerful AF. Slow-mo training montage, please.

some silly modern au headcanons that have been floating around in my brain lately! (some may become proper chapters in that fic):

they first hook up at some big conference in waterdeep. theres only one bed in the hotel and both of them indulge a little too much in the open bar at the place they're at. its a one time mistake until they wake up in the morning and do it again

rue actually gets on really well with karlach and despite the fact she signed an nda about her and gortash hooking up, karlach is the first to know ("please. you can do so much better. look at my friend wyll, he's cute and single and so much better than gortash" - karlach, moments later)

rue has broken into gortashs apartment many times before. he expects to see her there now and its weird when she isnt

gortash ends up picking rue up from various nights out with karlach & the gang after shes drank too much and drunk-called him, saying how she misses him (they saw each other hours ago) and how she wants to go home (and by home she means his place). he does so every time and gets vaguely threatened by karlach to keep her safe

rue posts a photo of her sitting opposite gortash in a fancy restaurant with the caption "first date kind of nervous" and immediately deletes it. fans go crazy

i like to think theres full on conspiracy theories about them being together or not. people are piecing together a timeline. others say it doesnt matter, hes only using her because his policies are so bad. a small group of people write fanfiction (rue sends them all to him because she thinks its funny)

she really eggs on their followers to think theres something there. posting pictures of her wearing his shirts. tagging him in videos of her walking around the city. asking people for reccommendations on good places for dates. its a blast. shes loving it

let's get silly with it

so i wanna talk about this:

(this is from the lore drop post on patreon from march btw)

Seers dont exist in the Imperium. Reading that one little line while i was actually just looking for that post so i could see the names of the cornerstone cities has now resulted in a full theory as to what this means about blake being in the imperium.

in the first imperium video blake is there in kody's splicer group. he's barely important at all but at one point he says "i'm not a dreamwalker—" but gets interrupted. we already know blake's not a dreamwalker because in the prime universe he's a seer just posing as a dreamwalker. originally i blew this line off because i was just like "yeah, he's probably referencing being a seer!" but according to the lore, seers dont exist in the imperium. no one else switches powers between the two universes so it seems a little odd to think erik just gave him different powers in the imperium? i mean maybe that's what happened, but what if there's a different answer behind it? what if blake's been lying in the prime universe, not only about being a dreamwalker, but about being a seer? 👀

now i know what you're thinking: "ok Argent, if he's not a dreamwalker, which yeah we know he's not a dreamwalker, and he's not a seer even though that's what we've been told he is, then what is he? hm? if he's not a seer then how does he know that his listener is gonna die? how does he know about elliott and sunshine coming to close knit? you're overlooking vital details!!" and to that i put my hands on your shoulders and i give you a gentle smile. i lean in close and i whisper into your ear:

"he's a time traveller."

you pull back from me, shock and confusion evident on your face as if i just spoke blasphemy. "Y-y-you can't just say something so completely wild, so unsubstantiated, so... so...." "crazy?" i offer, the tranquil smile still painted across my face. i giggle demurely. "maybe so. maybe i have let the allure of theorizing, the hypnotic spinning of the red strings, drive me to the brink of insanity. but i don't make this statement blindly," i hold out a hand to you, and the curiosity grips you as i continue, "will you allow me to show you? will you join me in Pandemonium, where we let assumptions and meta fuel our delusions?" you cautiously take my hand and we fall together. down, down, down into the rabbit hole.

now lets get into it. in the 2022 anniversary video, during the bonus round of lore trivia when erik asked questions based on things no one could actually know the answers to, he asks a question about his original plans for the 2021 valentines video and one of the possible answers is "introduction of a time traveller boyfriend" which means that a time traveller character IS possible in the redactedverse and also something erik has considered before. also important to point out: blake's first video was posted march 2021, so is it not within the realm of possibilities that blake was that time traveller boyfriend all along? or at least has the time traveller angle reworked into his character?

and if you think about it logistically, it seems like it would be really easy for a time traveller to pose as a seer (posing as a dreamwalker oof blake you are like inception over here). he doesn't have to be able to "see" the future if he's already lived it. now of course i cannot even begin to try and act like i know anything about what time travel would be like in the redactedverse, but i would think there would be some commonality between the two... both have to do with time, whether it's seeing it or being able to jump through it. maybe they share the ability to master other magic easily, which would make blake's dreamwalking skills still make sense.

now so far the only seers we really know are morgan and his listener (please morgan return soon and give us more seer lore 🙏🏻) and so we've gotten some lore from them, like how seers are faced with the vision of their own death. in blake's case he doesnt ever seem concerned at all about his own death, instead he is desperately ready to do anything he can to save his listener from their own impending death. now that could easily be explained away in a few ways like his obsession for them outweighing his own self preservation or the fact that most people wouldnt like casually bring up the fact they've seen their own death into conversations so maybe it just hasn't come up yet, but it felt important to mention so onto the corkboard it goes.

(i was gonna bring up avior and starlight with this too but hm is it just fan theory that blake was the closeknit dreamwalker that avior was feeding on that sent them to the shadow realm or has that been confirmed at any point?? i'm getting ready to relisten to sovereign state for the first time since my initial listen so maybe i'll remember more after that oops 🫣)

also just wanna say it sure seems weird that ol blakey boy doesn't react at ALL to the inversion happening. like morgan confirmed that all the seers basically saw the vision of the inversion happening like the second the rift opened but blake was just chilling in his bestie's apartment hanging out while a vision of a horrible influx of monsters coming down to kill everyone would've just popped into his head. i get that the guy doesn't care much for anything besides his listener and he already knows about shades and stuff but like..? no reaction, not even like a gasp of surprise that he covers up like "no don't worry, it's nothing..." it seems like it would make SOME sort of an impression. unless he's already experienced the inversion happening 🤔 and that's why it's not at all shocking to him to know it's happening that night, because he's there with them and he knows they're safe and maybe it's all playing right into what he wants anyways. (ok i know logically the reason the inversion isn't mentioned until the moment it IS mentioned is bc erik wanted that drama of us realizing that elliott couldn't get help from the department bc inversion just HAPPENED and also we didn't know blake was a seer yet anyways but like work with me here let me cook)

now lastly i just wanna talk about what blake being a time traveller would mean in regards to his listener. ya'll know of the butterfly effect right? any life is stranger gamers in the chat tonight? blake's whole purpose has become this gnawing need to stop his listener's coming death. he says he's seen it happen, no matter what he's done to try and stop it. the circumstances of it always change but it ALWAYS happens at the same time. even brachium seems surprised that a seer couldn't just see what caused it and avoid it, and blake says it must be because of something beyond this plane so he can't see it. which yeah is probably what the truth is bc it makes sense. buuuuuuut we're having fun over here in fantasy land and i'd rather throw into the ring the idea that their death is caused by blake meddling with the time stream. maybe they died and he, lost in his grief, jumped back to try and find a way to stop it only for it to happen again. and again. and again. or maybe they weren't destined to die originally. maybe blake wasn't able to reconnect with them, maybe they blew him off and he wanted a do over because he couldn't stand not having them in his life. so he jumped back and tried again to reconcile and this time it worked and he was so happy but then they died, in his arms. and the cycle began.

i want more than anything for blake to be fighting tooth and nail, ready to burn down the entire world just to be able to save his lover only to learn that it was his own fault that they are destined to die. because his inability to accept that they just weren't meant to be together forced him to break time and the result was that their life now would end, always.

i just think it would be neat 🙂

anyways hi. time traveller, pretty wild to throw out there i know. but the idea hit me and all the pieces slowly started to fit into place (or maybe i just started jamming all the pieces together until they were forced to fit lol). but for real this theory is just for fun and not to be taken too seriously because it is all built off of assumptions and the random fact that erik said there were no seers in imperium and yet blake was there. now if he decided to retcon any of that stuff as he is allowed to do bc this is his silly little world and he makes the rules, then my entire theory falls apart and i wasted my monday at work putting this together ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ oh well

oh i should probably get together the proper context behind Raon's existence, huh.

she comes from the latest installment of the dream horrors will just not QUIT. If you guys are interested, I can. put all my different dream horrors so far on a google doc and give you the link 🫶🏼

I won't get into the specifics of the events in the dream, since I already covered that in a google doc but. a tldr version of Raon's lore is that:

She's a high school student. A sophomore student to be exact.

She doesn't go to school often, only for big tests.

She knew Eternity at some point (not well, though.)

She ended meeting a girl named "Hidden" and a pair of twins.

Her and "Hidden" went on a date.

That date turned into a Valentine's Day rescue mission.

Said mission resulted in "Hidden" dying.

And Raon holding her date's wrapped up heart inside a crepe.

Of course, I have the full doc with all the details in it so

She's ended up being assigned villain arc by the universe, a type of avenging a fallen lover kind of deal??

So I've just been experimenting around with her and what type of villain she would be, if she did end up trying to. avenge "Hidden" in a not super peace and friendship way.

It starts with my messing about with a proper design for her. I have a color test actually let me grab it.

this was the artistic rendition of what Raon looked like in the dream but she'll be getting a new outfit and hair style. I was thinking about going down the Raiden route since she did actually have lighter purple highlights in the most recent dream she appeared in.

But she's very.

It's not like she's a textbook villain. She's a villain with a motivation and a reason and I think she'd actually be more of an anti-hero tbh

Like you'd def. think she was in the right for how she felt.

of course, there are a LOT of questions that have to be answered before anything solid or concrete can be established.

Does "Hidden" cycle back? And if so, is she still "Hidden" or a different Annie skin?? Does she remember Raon?

And the Bastard [tm], does he keep a close eye on Raon after sparing her life for the sake of. whatever he has planned? What DOES he have planned actually.

What's Black Swan's role in everything.

Reading Legendary rn and I love the little bits we get of Scarlett and Julian being happy so far 🥺 I never approve of lying to your lover, though honestly with the Aracle and what Tella saw, I think I can safely say for that first time it feels actually justified. Every other time I see a character lying to "protect" someone else I die a little. It's never properly justified- but this makes sense to me! Also my current theory (based on the coin and on my own gut feeling) is that Tella's 'Friend' is Jacks- can't wait to find out if that guess ages poorly -I'm excited to read more but I am hungry :) So I will stop for a late lunch (Also side note that I didn't think to mention before: I'm excited to see canon Jacks but I'm ALSO excited to meet Mistress Luck 👀👀👀)

He is back at it again the mf just can't help his self. He's obsessed like... damn. There's so definite feelings there that he simply does not understand and I don't think he wants to understand them. In that moment where he kissed her it was very heated and he was so confused that his control over her wasn't working anymore. I think at the point in time he just lost himself a little? It was the most powerful thing he could do at that time I suppose and neither of them were expecting it. Having such intense feelings of hatred mixed with feelings you also don't understand is a very confusing cocktail for all parties involved! And again, he's obsessed. He thinks about her a lot whether it's just wondering where she is or wondering how he can mess with her next. He loves touching her up because he knows it makes her feel small and intimidated and he knows she blames herself. (Although it isn't her fault at all) but whenever he does those things to her she feels like she's betraying Yuuji and it does hurt her a lot. So for him to take it a step further and kiss her... it's going to be very draining for her to handle. But yeah she really is growing!! As I mentioned in another ask, having the support of an authority figure (Toji) and the support and an adult taking her seriously it's definitely added a new layer of confidence to her. You're right btw Toji is so sweet in this AU I love him 😭
