Lmao I've seen the main user speculating about that. They in fact, does not know shit about how this works. And I wanna get into how hard they don’t know how this works.

a) He ain't doing that. Like, I don't know him, but I'd be really surprised if that happened. I think that is a horrible dude, but those are still three kids who've known him as their father and have known their role in this family their entire lives. I think we'd have to go from "an abusive husband and bad father" level to "a psychopath" level for that lmao.

And I mean... listen. William is clearly all about the firm. Those kids? Are in the same place he was in. I think he prioritizes legal, legitimate children born in wedlock over some by-blows~ (their words, not mine!) lmao.

b) It would not in fact cause a succession crisis.

-Regardless of DNA, unless they wanted to go through the rigmarole of getting the marquess to have his name taken off the birth certificate and William's name added to it, which seems... so unlikely! I mean, it's one thing to claim another man's kids, another to literally say "take my name off the birth certificate, I am a clown". This is a 60-something aristo, and if he doesn't have any legal sons, he has no legal heir. If he's the legal father, that's what matters in terms of succession. The kids don't become legally William's because he marries their mom, says he's the dad, and is the biological father.

-You actually can't change the succession just because you want to! I see people citing the change in the primogeniture-based succession made "for Charlotte" "by Elizabeth". First off, that wasn't actually for Charlotte, it was changed (or set into place, can't remember if they got it done before the birth) before George was born. The idea was that if the firstborn was a girl, a younger brother wouldn't supplant her as heir. George's birth made it irrelevant for William and Kate's kids. The only way that it matters is if something horrible happens to George; Louis can't leapfrog over Charlotte.

Anyway, that didn't happen just because Elizabeth wanted it. There were actual legislative processes involved. It's... a legal process.

If William did ACKNOWLEDGE his children by Rose, if they do exist, this would not suddenly supplant George, or Charlotte, or Louis for that matter. Acknowledgment does not equal legitimizing, and frankly, legitimizing does not mean leapfrogging over the line of succession. Do people honestly think Kate, or for that matter her family, or for that matter WILLIAM'S family who have a vested interest would just... go with that? It would probably cause a legal crisis within the monarchy, and it would also make William look VERY BAD!!! The public that does support the monarchy loves those kids; they're the cute mascots. George's birth was celebrated globally. Money is made off those children.

-Legitimate children of the Prince of Wales/the King of England have access to taxpayer dollars. Just adding 2-3 kids onto that payroll? Haha. Have fun with that.

-Past English kings have acknowledged their illegitimate children. William would not in fact have anywhere near absolute power. Kings who have had close to absolute power? Still haven't been able to get this done lmao. Henry VIII actually had (or was rumored to have) discussions about his acknowledged illegitimate son Henry Fitzroy being legitimized, which would place him in the line of succession over Henry's legal wife's daughter. He didn't even try to get it done... for many reasons. It's not easy, and Henry VIII was actually a lot closer to being able to do whatever he wanted to any king today.

So, the idea of him legitimizing kids born prior to his marriage is very far-fetched if not borderline impossible, and if he did, the kids would not automatically leapfrog over Kate's children, potentially not only supplanting them of their inheritance of the crown, but their inheritance of different monetary/land-related inheritances that they would typically be entitled to or expected to be given by their father.

Like. People need to be REAL FR.

Are you asking me to explain akgae psychology to you?

Because if you are, I want to preface this by saying you're wasting your time observing people like that. Akgaes are just awful people who happen to develop a superficial hyper-fixation on an idol. Their attachment to their idol is superficial because it's so narcissistic. Their behaviours are more a reflection of their natural states than anything to do with Jimin or even how they see him.

It's why a PJM can think Jimin, who has said on camera more than once that he cuts off real-life friends who talk badly about BTS, why that PJM can unironically think they, a random 'fan', would get a listening ear from Jimin to tell him he should stop posting Jungkook on his Instagram.

Like, it's not even that they're delusional. It's that they're just really shitty people.

It's why they worship and idolize Jimin so much, putting him on a pedestal for being oh so selfless. The reality is that while Jimin is generally a very considerate person, he's not Mother Theresa (as she was known in her lifetime not the reveal afterwards lol). Most of what PJMs place on a pedestal is just Jimin being a decent human being and acting in ways other members have done at some point in different circumstances. But for them, it's the pinnacle of altruism because they can't relate. They can't imagine themselves being that kind or that decent, they can't even begin to picture the sort of relationship Jimin says he has with BTS members because they've got no analogs in their real lives. Akgaes are like judgy old nuns who pick people apart over the smallest human slights, and they actually enjoy being hateful. Hating is 90% of the reason they're here. Their happiness for Jimin stems from him introducing them to a world of six other people in the group plus their millions of fans for them to hate. Jimin has practically supplied them with a lifetime of hate fuel.

For an akgae, there's no bigger jackpot.

Nobody has to like someone because someone else likes them. It's fine if they (or anyone) dislike Jungkook, other BTS members and/or anyone Jimin says he respects. But the difference with an akgae is that their dislike of BTS members is tied to their love of Jimin, shown by the amount of time and attention they devote towards hating, disparaging, and actively looking to harm those members, while in the same breath imagining they're Jimin's friends and buddy buddy enough to tell him to ditch the members. Ditto for the other member akgaes because they all think the same way.

It's frankly kind of hilarious but also a bit psychopathic because all their actions show is that they don't actually like Jimin. They don't like who he is and what he does. They tolerate him because associating with him helps them achieve other goals through him, plus because they don't actually know him, they're more than fine believing that their own version of him is true to life.

This is also how shooters within ARMY approach BTS as a whole, relative to the wider music industry. The common thread that connects people like this, is that they aren't here for the right reasons.

But, as with all things in fandom, c'est la vie.

Jikook will still keep jikooking because nothing - not rain, not shine, not hail, not tornadoes, typhoons, droughts, floods, or tsunamis, will ever stop Jimin from gushing about Jungkook. And vice versa.

Jikook are just built different. And everybody else will just have to deal.

REVIEW

I LOOOVED this episode!! It was so good. There was a great focus all around, on everybody, and there were a bunch of really great moments. Funny, emotional, sweet, cool, and dramatic :D. Also, though I of course miss Grace and the show won't be the same without Sierra, I'm happy with the way they wrote her out <3. And frankly I'm just so glad she's alive and doing something she loves xdd. She's still doing good, and that's the most Grace thing there is :'). Anyway, there was some angst, like with Carlos, and poor Judd :( (not to mention the friendship drama between Marjan and Paul), but there were a bunch of silly and sweet moments as well, and I just loved it all around :). The calls were also great! Really great, interesting but can still go up from, calls for the beginning of the season :) 🥰.

Now it's time for the individual parts!

Nancy and Mateo!! We didn't see too much focused on them, but they had some great moments and were amazing on calls :)! The race with both of them timing was hilarious xD, and Mateo forgetting to stop the timer was so real and perfect lol. Also, I only saw it when I ventured into the tag earlier lol, but Mateo going "That's my girl! Platonically!" at a look from Nancy was hilarious LOL xD. But seriously, they're sweet and I'm glad they're still doing good <3. And once again, they both did great with their jobs :). I love them <333 🥰.

Tommy! I'm so glad she brought Owen to the grief group :). Even if it might've been a bit of a dragging situation lol, it was good for him. And it was probably bonding a bit as well <3. And of course she knew Tyler was the T in TK :')) she would <33. Anyway, she was iconic this episode, as always, and I'm so glad she brought up the tensions to Owen lol. Goodness knows he probably wouldn't have noticed/done anything about it xD. And of course, she absolutely ate it up on the job today :)). Amazing job girly <33. I love her so much ❤️🥰.

Paul and Marjan! My lovelies <33. I'm so glad that at least at first, and at first in each conversation it seemed lol, they were chill and not worrying about the competition <3. They've been friends for long enough that they're good at that :). But, I can also see how they would be competitive - they're both great, and capable of/accomplish some incredible feats. And especially with the pressure from everyone else, they both want the job. But I think Owen's worries won't come to fruition. Whoever gets it, they'll get over it eventually - though I'd like neither of them to get it and have Judd come back xD. I think they'd be satisfied with that too honestly - they weren't particularly gunning for it before. They were all happy with how things were going :). Anyway, I just hope everything ends up working out between them ❤️. They were both iconic on calls today though! Besides the water with the hose one of course lol. But thinking of the bullet hole, finding it, getting in so quickly, Marjan grabbing onto the truck and getting in, and Paul jumping into that grease trap - they both did amazing in a bunch of different situations :D. If Judd doesn't become the lieutenant, I hope it's both of them. I was just thinking with them breaking into the truck, they work better together than apart. Plus, then no one disappointed xd - besides the betting pool lol xD. Anyway, I love them <333.

Owen! Poor Owen :((. He really has been going through it. I get it - sometimes things just happen and they knock you down/back for a while, hard some of those times (as in knock you back hard). Especially when there's a string of things, because maybe you could've weathered one, but the perfect combination of.multiple just gets you. I know it's rough, but I'm glad he's still working, engaging with people and that he went to that grief group. It's a good step <3. I hope his main story this season will be about dealing with that grief, and just grief better in general (over anything, but especially all the personal loss he's had in his life). It could be really good, and I want to see him come back to life a bit again <3. But still, he's not as low as he's sometimes been before, and I think that's a good sign :). I just hope he can improve even more <3. Anyway, hopefully he sees that Judd wants back or just decides to let him know he wants him back - Judd needs to hear it, and I don't think he's going to ask xd. Maybe he will as an eventual succession of his pride, but I don't know lol. Anyway, I just hope he ends up okay :) 🥰❤️. Also, he did great on calls today too :D. As always, of course, but he was a great leader and got things done himself as well :). Also, poor guy getting soaked by Paul and Marjan's fighting lol. I love him <3.

Judd and Grace!! And Wyatt! Yes I'm counting Grace and I can do whatever I want 😌. Anyway, seeing Judd reveal the house to Wyatt and his girlfriend (I can't remember her name right now 😬 I remember their son's name is Liam though!! Cute name 🥰) was so sweet 🥺 :')). I'm so glad they get a comfortable and functional place to live, not a lot of disabled people have that <3. Also, love that we have another disabled character on the show now :DD!! Physically speaking, there's Paul's heart condition, but that hasn't come up much, so I'm glad to get this :). And also because Wyatt is an icon - I love that he's looking out for his dad, especially while Grace is away <3. I said earlier, in my liveblog and review of the Season 4 Finale actually, that Grace is Judd's grounded, and calms him and brings him back down to earth, and I was RIGHT!! Confirmed by the man himself xDD. Anyway, I'm so happy Wyatt has a family he loves, a house he can love, and a job he loves, and is making a difference in :'). That's so important, and also, so many people with disabilities don't get that, so I'm happy for him <33. Anyway, thank goodness he's there to tell Judd to get some sense in him and be a firefighter again xD. I'm just glad he's watching out for him :')). And Charlie is the most adorable kid ever <333 love her :) 🥰. I'm so glad Grace is doing something she loves, something that helps people, even if we had to lose her <3. It sucks, but at least they gave her a good reason for leaving her family - to help others find one, or just those who don't have one. It's worth it <3. And though I wish she wasn't gone, it'll all work out, and I'm sure she'll be home soon (obviously not that we'll see, but xd). Anyway, JUDD JUST GOSH DARN TALK ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS 😭😭!! If he would just talk to Owen - and Owen to him, too, don't get me wrong - we wouldn't be in this situation xd xD. Agh, gosh, these two idiot best friends lol. Also Carlos and Wyatt interacting was amazing <33. And go off on the job today Wyatt :D! He did great :). And Judd did too, as a father <3. Anyway, I'm glad the whole Ryder clan is doing okay, even if Judd might have some struggles soon <33. I love them all 🥰 <33.

TK and Carlos!! AAAAHHHHHHHHH THEY'RE MARRIED Y'ALL YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND :'DDD!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳!!! I do wish we got a little bit more of happy Tarlos this episode, but alas, at least we got them xD. Besides, there's been one premiere out of five seasons where they were happy lol, so I'll take what I can get - which is just them xD. Genuinely though, I LOVED their scenes this episode, together and individually. They both absolutely ate it up, slayed, at their jobs this episode <33. TK intubating that guy and taking care of those patients, and Carlos solving the armored truck robberies case (with help from Campbell, I suppose 🙄 lol). Also, I love that TK helped Carlos with his case just by existing :D xD. I love how he's a great sounding board for Carlos - he doesn't even have to do anything just be there :). They're the best your honor <3. All they need is to just be close to each other <3 :'). Now, when I ventured into the tag for a little bit earlier I saw a bunch of people talking about the food symbolism with Carlos, and while I didn't really get that far into thinking myself, I absolutely agree 😭😭💔❤️🥺. Carlos has always had moments and storylines revolving around food (not that the storylines themselves revolve around the food necessarily, but it's an important component). Making dinner for TK, eating 6 meals a day (even in the aftermath of the events in 3x11), putting food in the oven for TK in 3x13 versus only making himself some when he was mad, going to weekly dinners with his family even when their relationship was a bit fragile in places. Food has always been very important to Carlos and his storyline, and hearing that he of all people is eating out of vending machines for dinner is heartbreaking 😭💔❤️. I gotta say though, TK knowing and not being happy about it but knowing that's where Carlos is right know, that this is part of his process, and being there for him in every way he can is just amazing <333. Having said that. CARLOS THAT IS NOT HEALTHY 😭😭😭💔. LET TK BRING YOU HOME. ACCEPT HIS MENTION OF YOU ON THE NEWS AND GO HOME 😭😭💔❤️. Gosh, I hope this is a less often situation, and more often than not he's home xd. I doubt it, but I can hope xD 😭. I gotta say, though, I can't wait for it all to break lol. Plus hopefully Carlos can find some more peace after all's said and done xD. Anyway! I love them so much <333.

Overall, I really enjoyed this episode! There were a bunch of great moments, and I'm excited for the next episode based on the bits we saw in this one. I'm a little stressed for how everything will work out, but that's how you know it's good 🥰. Also the sweet moments this episode were on point <3. Definitely a great premiere and I'm really feeling the vibe :D! It was so good :).

So, yeah! I really loved this episode, I thought it was great. It's so good to have my lovelies back again, and I can't wait to see more of them. I'm so excited for the next episode! This has been my review of. . .

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

32, most of which are Doctor Who!

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

859,228!! (but it's gonna keep climbing until I finish posting part 6 of campervan sksk)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Pretty much just Doctor Who right now, but I have posted fics for Stargate Universe, Marvel and The Greatest Showman. And then I have written for other fandoms - most notably Venom, which I never posted anything for but I did get 40k into a multichapter one time.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

In this order: Liminality, Tropospheric Disturbance, campervan part 1, watchfires and Renegades in the Ring (my TGS fic that I never finished, rip in pieces)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I always try and respond to comments!! Mostly because I love talking about my fics and also don't know when to shut up hahaha - but I also have some absolutely fantastic commenters who have such interesting things to say! And also like, idk I really appreciate people taking the time to comment, so I reckon it's polite to say thank you at least. The only time I don't reply to comments, mostly, is if it's a REALLY long comment and I just don't have the energy rip (but when that happens I definitely read and cherish the comment dearly haha)

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh. MOST OF THEM RIP. I'm genuinely not sure because I always try and end my fics on a vaguely uplifting note. Maybe Campervan Part 4, simply because of all the uni-era angst? But tbh the ending of Part 6 is definitely a contender, now I think about it. Canon-fic wise, though.......hmm I think it's got to be notches in your spine, since that ends with the Doctor just straight up leaving the Master without warning sksksk

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hm. I think I'm gonna go with In the Wind for this one, which is hilarious since I wrote it THREE YEARS AGO, but it's a multi-chapter mid-series adventure that rounds itself off in a satisfying way, with everything being resolved nicely, so I think that's a decent contender!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Hm, no, other than people complaining about the show in an attempt to compliment my writing, but that's stopped for the most part since I got annoyed about it in my author's notes one time ksksks. I did get a weird comment recently that started out very complimentary but then turned really weird in a pretty upsetting way (and, frankly, it would have been very triggering if that sort of topic had been something that was something that affected me a lot? Luckily it wasn't, but the commenter did NOT know that). So I just deleted the comment because I didn't want that sort of thing in my comment section, especially when I know other readers comment lurk.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No I'm sex-repulsed lol

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I wrote a crossover that was The Greatest Showman crossed with the X-Men Comics one time SKSKSKSKSK (and it was specifically the comics not the films, I did so much research on historical terminology for mutants HAHA) which was actually SO much fun - I never finished it, but I do think back on it very fondly. But I'd class that as more of an 'x-men au' rather than a crossover tbh, bc it was wholly focused on the TGS characters.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don't believe so

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! We never finished it LOL

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Currently spydoc, but this will probably change. I have a MASSIVE soft spot for rush/young from sgu, clintasha from the MCU, newt/hermann from PacRim, and symbrock from Venom.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Hmmmm there's a bunch, but probably The Grandfather Paradox? I genuinely love that one so much. But who knows, maybe one day. I feel like it would make a great pitch for a Big Finish audio sksk. Oh, and Deathless will probably never happen. I'm not going to put Trestle on this list because I am SO DETERMINED to finish it some day HAHAH. Oh - and I don't think I'll ever finished Trouble With Entropy, which was my unfinished Venom fic, or Renegades (aforementioned TGS fic) even though I love them a lot, it's just....very unlikely at this point rip.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Going off what other people have said to me, I'm good at creative immersive worlds! Which is mostly because I really want my stories to feel 'lived in', so to speak, and broader than what you actually see in the immediate plot. I think I'm also pretty good at pacing, and also writing narrative prose with a character voice! 17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I definitely worry too much about making sure the reader DEFINITELY gets what I'm trying to say, and so sometimes I'm repetitive and I hammer things home a bit that can be more subtle. I also think that sometimes I can be a bit repetitive in my longer fics where I know a gap needs to be filled but I'm not sure with what sksksks. There are other things too. I definitely struggle writing shorter things and getting to the point and TRUSTING that the reader will come with me. I often feel this urge to make sure all the steps are there for the reader to follow where I want them to go.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Oooh so I actually did this in campervan part 5 with Gabriela and Jamila speaking a bit of Portuguese! And I think there's like, obviously nuance to it, but when I had the pov characters who understood portuguese (namely Jamila in the prologue), I had the dialogue in portuguese, but the translation in the prose, either literally just next to the dialogue or explained in the narration by Jamila. But then in later chapters, when Yaz is trying to talk to Gabriela, because Gabriela is upset she's occasionally saying things in Portuguese....but Yaz doesn't understand them. So they don't get translated. And so I think that works for the story in that context, bc what Gabriela actually SAYS is less important and it's more showing the emotion of it. Another case I can think of was in Force Over Distance by cleanwhiteroom who wrote a LOT of ancient into the fic (which is basically latin) and when it was on ao3 there was this sort of 'hover to translate' thing which worked REALLY WELL, bc the translation was there but it didn't disrupt the flow of the fic.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Okay so I wanna know what counts here - if it's like, the first fic i POSTED, then that's Marvel (specifically the Avengers). If it's the first fic I wrote when I actually understood what 'fandom' was, then...I think that was also Avengers....or maybe BBC Sherlock. If it's the first thing I actually WROTE DOWN properly, then it was Doctor Who (specifically Ten and Rose and my oc companion sksk). If it was the first thing I played with creatively for media that wasn't my own...then that was probably me coming up with elaborate ocs out of two unicorns on the credits for the My Little Pony vhs tape we had SKSKSKSK SO. I don't know. One or all of those.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Oh this is hard because I'm proud of a lot of what I've written. My gut reaction at the moment is actually Trestle, even though it's unfinished and no one has read it HAHAH but I'm just so proud of some of the writing in that so far. And I'm extremely proud of Campervan AU as a whole entity. However I do really really love see me bare my teeth for you - which I actually forget about a LOT because it's not one of my thoschei fics sksksk. But I'm super proud of how that one turned out. And then also and they did live by watchfires because that one just has such a special place in my heart.

Oh I will never pass up the opportunity to talk about my shitty little bastard godwoken!

I decided to make her in bg3 bc sadly dos2's character creator just really can't compare but Yeah this is Vakora

Vakora is a half demon necro/pyromancer lich born into and raised by the Black Ring who frankly thinks that losing your meat when you become undead is a skill issue. Naturally, she's got the scholar, mystic, undead, and villain tags lol, with civil skill in lore master, and her talents are demon (unsurprisingly lol) torturer, savage sortilege, and glass cannon.

Because she's a lich, she's very delicate and fragile physically, and she absolutely has to be careful because uhhh AS AN UNDEAD LICH only source fueled healing magic will work on her, but considering she's got like 20 points in pyromancy, its not like she usually has a problem with enemies being able to get close enough to land a hit on her.

Also she's a lich on purpose, she learned how to turn people into liches from Tarquin specifically, and removed her soul herself and hid the soul jar in a safe location prior to the Black Ring getting death fogged, so even though she was right in the middle of the blast zone, she was able to walk out of it no big deal thanks to already being undead.

Of course, now most of the Black Ring were dead, and she really didn't have much interest in this supposed new God that most of the survivors were now pledging their allegiance to instead of Chaos. It wasn't necessarily that she was loyal to Chaos specifically, as it wasn't like she CHOSE to join the Black Ring, but she did think it was pretty pitiful for everyone to just up and switch allegiances at the drop of a hat, so she was basically like hm ok yeah, call me when you manage to find your pride and spine again. Before running off on her own to cause problems for the Divine Order by herself. She actually ended up on the ship to Fort Joy specifically because she wanted to go wreak havoc there on the magisters because so many of them all in one place? She's sighing dreamily imagining how much destruction a meteor shower spell would do.

But also because she's very interested in Braccus' research and absolutely wants to go poke her nose into all his old little hideaways. And no she doesn't help ANY of his victims bc she's an evil little asshole and thinks that most of his punishments were hilarious. She may or may not try to roast marshmallows over one of the burning pigs.

Understandably, Vakora isn't exactly popular with most of the other godwoken lmao, although they don't actually know any of the juicy details about her past in the black ring until they get to the nameless isle and the party is like uhhhhh why do all these black ring people know you by name??? For the majority of the game, all the party really knows about her is that she's an equally dangerous and deranged wizard, she's a lich, she has a really fucked up sense of humor, and she's not going to bother helping people if there's not IMMEDIATELY something in it for her. She doesn't actively go out of her way to hurt anyone (outside of the divine order) but she's not the first to suggest helping someone in need and the others will usually have to coerce her into it.

That said, she does get along with Sebille and Lohse very well from the start. Sebille because she can absolutely appreciate a woman who doesn't hesitate to try and kill her ass on the spot, and Lohse because she can absolutely relate to the whole everything and its grandmother constantly trying to possess you thing. Also, as a half demon herself, she has a lot of knowledge and insight on what Lohse is dealing with SPECIFICALLY, and basically the moment she meets her she's like "uh yeah that's a demon you're dealing with. Seems pretty powerful too. Honestly, i don't know how you're even still remotely in control of yourself right now." But although she does actually KNOW Adrahmalik from when they were both with the Ring, (although certainly not by NAME) she doesn't actually realize its him specifically that's possessing Lohse until they get to Blood Moon Isle. She also got along pretty well with Ifan at first, up until the point that he learned she was black ring, and then things uhhh went pretty sour between them. Sadly, in her main verse, things uhhh just really did not end up well between Vakora and those three at all.

Sebille didn't end up trusting her enough to share her slave song with her, so when they confronted the Shadow Prince, Sebille permanently became his thrall again, and so Vakora killed her bc she considered that the only mercy she could give her.

Lohse insisted on trying to ascend to divinity at the academy, and Vakora, having absolutely NO skill in persuasion, wasn't able to talk her down from it and it lead to Vakora killing her, because she agreed with Jahan about not allowing Lohse to ascend.

and Ifan wasn't willing to risk another divine rising who might be anything like Lucian, and he sure as hell wouldn't let a BLACK RING LICH ascend to Divinity, so yeah, that ended in a fight too.

As for other people, despite her tendency to be rather bitchy and belligerent, she actually was mostly cordial with people as long as they weren't associated with the Divine Order?

She got along well with Malady, though they hadn't known each other before the Seekers captured the Lady Vengeance, they knew OF each other. Demons like to talk and brag about their half demon spawn to each other apparently. They're both extraordinarily bitchy and snarky towards each other but its all in good fun, though most people around them usually can't tell they're NOT actually about to kill each other.

Garreth she couldn't fucking STAND and frankly the only reason she didn't just incinerate him the moment he started preaching about Lucian's platitudes is because she already knew that the seekers were now enemies of the magisters, and she wanted to see what was going on there before making any rash decisions. Surprisingly, she actualy doesn't kill him until the very end of the game where hes been turned into Lucian's silent monk

Now TARQUIN on the other hand, she gets along with GREAT considering he was one of her teachers in the Black Ring, and it was him leaving the Ring first that made her realize "oh wait i can just do that??" And then when they reunite on the lady vengeance its definitely a sweating nervously/spiderman pointing at each other meme moment where they both immediately recognize each other and pretend that they dont lmao. Of course, knowing EXACTLY what his specialty is, Vakora immediately realizes that Dallis almost definitely captured him to resurrect someone, but she just doesn't know WHO. and of course, no amount of her trying to pester him for the answer (in private of course, seh's not gonna air their dirty laundry in front of the party) will convince him to actually tell her who the fuck he rezzed for the magisters. She does still help him with Anathema though, and considering she ALSO already knows what anathema is, he's much more forthcoming about what she's even LOOKING for in the first place. Honestly, 10/10 student teacher relationship

and then there's JAHAN. LOL. Vakora certainly isn't scared of Jahan, but she is definitely wary of him. Though she is perfectly polite and cordial towards him when the party goes to find him to help with Lohse's little problem. The fact that he's immortal and she can't kill him if necessary annoys her, but at the same time, as a master of necromancy, Jahan immediately realizes that she's ALSO immortal as a lich and thus he can't kill her either, and so they kinda just both silently decide to try talking things out first since actually FIGHTING is pretty much pointless. After the inital uncertainty, they do end up getting along pretty well though! Jahan realizes that some of the rumors of her violence and malice are a bit exaggerated as its mostly just the divine order she's fucking up, and for the most part, she's just kinda bitchy and grumpy towards everyone else. Although he is genuinely surprised that she does earnestly want to help Lohse with her possession problem.

and speaking of Lohse's possession problem, that brings us to Adrahmalik lol. Adrahmalik was more than happy to pretty much overlook Vakora's existence, mostly because uhhhh he had a very strong vested interest in not pissing off her father who is ALSO fucking archdemon who was quite infamous for utterly DESTROYING other demons who tried to possess her (which frankly happened a lot during her childhood until word spread around that it was a very bad idea to even try) otherwise, Vakora would've been his first choice for a new godwoken host in an attempt to ascend to divinity, but he ended up settling for Lohse instead. anddddd then Vakora killed Lohse. and he was very unhappy about that. So when Vakora did end up making it to Arx in the final act, he absolutely did try to possess her bc he was pissed she deprived him of Lohse. Unfortunately for him, she did anticipate him trying to pull that so she did come prepared and she just killed him instead. Up until the point that she killed lohse though, all of his servants like the Advocate and all the other's and Blood Moon were perfectly polite and pleasant to her, showing her about the same kind of respect as they did Lohse.

Funnily enough, she actually DOESN'T reallyyyy have any strong feelings towards Dallis? But by that i mean that Dallis just isn't really unique to her. She doesn't really stand out much from the rest of Lucian's stupid little lapdogs even if she is a higher rank than most of them. As far as Vakora is concerned, she's Divine Order and so she's gonna kill her. It's really as simple as that. She does find it particularly annoying how much difficulty she seems to be having in killing this one particular member of the Divine Order but frankly as long as it ends in death, she doesn't care. After all, time is no matter when one cannot die. She has all eternity to kill her. And honestly, she really didn't care much about Dallis' dramatic reveal right before the final boss fight either. It really didn't change anything to her. As far as she was concerned, she was still a divine order lackey who needed to die.

Now as for Lucian? There is only one thing that goes through her mind when she hears his name. KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL. Considering she's been indoctrinated to despise him from the moment she was born, not too surprising there. Frankly, she was actually absolutely DELIGHTED to learn he wasn't actually dead at the final boss fight because it meant she had the opportunity to kill him herself. Like tbh she straight up did not really talk to him at all? Like, Lucian really only got as far as telling dallis to take the mask off before Vakora was like YAWN BORING NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY and decided to chat with Braccus instead lmao. so really, she didn't actually hear anything about the tear in the source veil or all that because Lucian didn't get that far lol

Now Braccus on the other hand??? For the vast majority of the game of course, she has no idea that he's Vredeman, but she's spent her entire life studying him. Learning his techniques. Hunting down his research. What little of it was actually recorded and survived to these times. She thinks he was absolutely fascinating and utterly brilliant. And also funny as fuck. An absolute fucking ASSHOLE but still funny! Like, flaming pigs? Seriously? Hilarious. So she actually had a grand time sticking her nose into every little nook and cranny at fort joy and learning everything that she could about him. But funnily enough, she didn't actually think twice about "Vredeman" the few times she encountered him, mainly because her attention was immediately on trying to kill Dallis during those encounters. At least until she found Dallis' journal in arx talking about how she was keeping Braccus as a glorified pet. And then she actually had the opportunity to TALK to him before the final fight, and at first she was both disappointed and confused by the notion that THE Braccus Rex could possibly be enslaved by someone like Dallis, at least until Dallis brings out the leashing wand and Vakora realizes that he's actually not under her control AT ALL and is only pretending to be affected by it. So Vakora and Braccus end up chatting for a few minutes about divinity and she's basically like "well to be perfectly honest, i don't actually have any interest in becoming a god. I'm really just here to kill Dallis, truth be told. And Lucian, now that i Know that he's alive and well too." And Braccus just slowly raises an eyebrow like "Oh really? Interesting." and they kinda just look at each other before simultaneously turning to look at Lucian and Dallis who only have about three seconds to process what the FUCK is going on before the final boss fight starts lmao. With Vakora and Braccus against them and their minions.

So yeah, while the worst possible ending is the godking and eternals coming back from the void and enslaving everyone, another "bad for pretty much everyone" ending is "the godking and the eternals do not in fact make it back from the void but that's because BRACCUS is the new Divine and nothing is worth dealing with that." After the final boss fight, Vakora fucks off on her own for a while before eventually coming back to Fort Joy (which Braccus is unsurprisingly having rebuilt) to hang around and be the classic "my liege you should incinerate that guy for fun" person that every batshit insane god/king/emperor needs

ive been calling c! beeduos relationship platonic because i thought that was what their cc’s said, and i thought they had said that they were uncomfortable with ppl shipping the characters. But ive seen a lot of posts that say their relationship is canonically romantic? and i absolutely do not want to come across as homophobic by watering down a mlm relationship to just friends because that happens so much in media so.

what is the canon state of their relationship / ur opinions on the platonic thibg

aw it’s totally fine, im flattered you asked me about this!

let me put it simply: it’s a whole mess, lol.

first im going to talk about what’s happened fandom-wide that caused differing opinions, and then i’ll explain my own opinion/interpretation. :]

(this got really fucking long im so sorry)

ranboo and tubbo initially proclaimed the relationship was romantic, specifically in argument with the wiki editors who had set it as platonic by default. (you can see this in the vod where they decide they’re canonically married— it’s very funny. chat tells them the marriage is already on the wiki, they check, tubbo is jokingly offended that it says platonic and asks if he needs to up the romance).

tubbo also makes jokes about adultry, which sort of implies the relationship is not necessarily a platonic one.

(theres definetly more in that stream alone but it’s been a long time since i watched it so i don’t remember a lot of it.)

the wiki, because of this, suffers from going back and forth on platonic and romantic, seemingly unsure where the joke ends and the canon begins, or if its canonically a joke! a mess, as you can already tell.

this gets more complicated as the marriage bit goes on: outsiders, such as phil and scott, both at one point say “platonic marriage”, which then ranboo and tubbo agree with. however, when chat asks them if they’re platonic, they say the opposite. so there is a lot of confusion there.

there’s also the difficulty of being able to tell streamers and characters apart. ranboo and tubbo both don’t like being shipped irl, and that’s their boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed. (they’re also minors, but tbh when they’re 18 in a year i will still be following their boundaries regardless of their legal age).

due to people not wanting to be accused of minor shipping, they started adding the platonic tone indicator to most of their drawings— basically a way of saying “no homo”. meanwhile, tubbo frequently on stream flirts with ranboo and makes quite a bit of nsfw comments towards him that are frankly hilarious.

this goes on for a while with nobody really sure what’s canon, but a lot of people assuming it’s probably platonic, until: the drama of the mods night. a few mods dmed all the wiki editors telling them ranboo wanted his canon character relationship officially set to platonic.

unfortunately for those mods; the very same day, a few hours later, ranboo on stream makes fun of puffy delivering him and tubbo “friendship flowers”. because, and i quote, “bruh. we’re literally married. this must be how the ancient greeks felt.”

in case you don’t know, the internet often jokes about how historians will call ancient greeks ‘very good friends’ when they are quite obviously gay. so in this context, ranboo is joking that people will call him and c!tubbo, who are married, “close friends”, when he doesn’t think they are.

basically, ranboo canonized romantic bee duo, the very same day the mods told everyone he’d wanted a platonic one.

chaos and drama immediately erupted everywhere. on tumblr, we were talking about how weird it was of his mods to do something like that without asking him first. we ALSO talked about how weird it was of them to assume that ranboo can’t make his own decisions, or assume teenagers cannot be in relationships without it being sexual. twitter did the same thing but in the opposite direction: called ranboo mods homophobic, or said they were mad ranboo felt pressured into making a romantic relationship canon ‘just so people could have mlm rep.’

i dont want to go into detail about the drama that happened that night because apparently official people follow me and i dont want to stir it up or have them come “clarify” things. im just saying what we talked about.

ranboo in typical ranboo fashion apologized quickly and seriously. he was deeply sorry for possibly offending anyone with how he’d portrayed his rp relationship with tubbo, and he also assured everyone the mod thing was just a miscommunication.

he said he would talk to tubbo and they’d decide once and for all whether it was platonic or romantic, and then announce so everyone would know.

it’s now been a few months and we've had no word from them on that development. we still have no clue.

now, here’s my opinion:

i want to take ranboos word for it that it was a miscommunication with his mods, but... we had it on good authority from people on the wiki team and people in the discord with the mods that (while it was happening) they were really going after the wiki admins, and also made some weird comments about it. that combined with the way ranboo seemingly had no clue (considering he canonized their romance that very same day).... it’s very. sus of the mods.

then there’s the canon we’ve got since then. although occasionally adults in the room have called it a “platonic marriage” and tubbo once (back when it first started) called it a “plankton tectonic” marriage, in roleplay it’s been... kind of not that. tubbo and ranboo make nsfw jokes about each other in character, and their characters also share a master bedroom and bed in the mansion. there's also the way c!tommy really thinks it’s a romance between them as well, and they agree with and play off that— for instance confirming that they “fell in love” when he asked, or ranboo confirming that they “make out on occasion”.

people will still put platonic on their art and posts, imo, because they’re worried about breaking ranboo and tubbo’s irl boundaries by looking like they ship them. or even just being accused of shipping real life minors. and that’s a valid fear to have.

the thing is though: c!bee duo are not cc!bee duo. they’re roleplay characters. cc!bee duo are not okay with being shipped, but they made their characters get canonically married, and call each other “husbands”. so it’s okay to write the word “husband” in your comic without adding “platonic” to it, i promise.

telling the ccs that their characters have to be platonic is... weird. it comes off as not only babying them, but also as saying teens can’t date without it being gross. which isn’t true.

(this is why seeing people overuse “platonic husband” so much bothers me. like, they ARE husbands. you can just say it. what are you trying to hide...?)

do i think they’re canonically romantic? ehh, its likely. it’s still okay to interpret them as platonic, because again, it’s hard to tell where jokes end and roleplay begins. like, maybe it’s jokes in the rp too, and c!bee duo are just friends. friends can and should be allowed to make jokes like that with each other! aro & ace marriages exist!

or, maybe it’s actually part of the rp, and they’re very much romantic. we don’t know!

some people say they could be a qpr (queerplatonic romance), which i could see. (a qpr is a relationship that fluctuates between, or can’t quite be sorted into, “romantic” and “platonic”. people in a qpr can do romantic things while having platonic feelings for each other). in my opinion this is a very valid interpretation as well!

no. you’re not the one saying it so you can’t decide the tone tags for that. imagine you said something to your friend and a random stranger came up and was like “haha but that was /p right...?”

can i ship c!bee duo?

mmm. i’m not sure on this one. they are canonically married and very flirtatious, but the ccs don’t like being shipped and they’re close enough to being the ccs that actively shipping might be against boundaries.

can i treat c!bee duo as romantic?

yes. literally just don’t be weird about it. it’s not that hard! you can understand that two characters are husbands without making it weird

here’s the most important thing: boundaries. cc bee duo still haven’t told us what their preferences and canon is about this whole thing.

right now, i am assuming based on what they already show us they’re comfortable with, but! the second they give us any more info! all these opinions will change!

i am only going off what they do. i would never want to cross boundaries at all. i just wish they would make theirs a little more clear.

Aw, thank you!! We’re glad you enjoy it. <333 We initially made the blog as a receptacle for all our Bleach thoughts for posterity, because Apple Messages can’t be searched worth a good goddamn. Then being on Tumblr really opened the door in terms of the amount of Bleach content—really excellent Bleach content—that was out and about in the world! And I think my primary inspirations for B3 now are still having a place to put random Bleach things we make, and wanting to make Bleach friends. I’m variably good at both of these things, though. My goal is to post to this blog reflexively and without filter because the alternative is just me being deeply anxious about being perceived, ON TUMBLR, ON A BLOG ABOUT AN OLD ANIME, and I know logically that’s very silly. I also get anxious about overstepping Tumblr’s Pact of Parasociality, but trust that if you are interested in being friends I am too; I’m just scared of being a Kool-Aid Man. XD (And chronically absent from this platform, but one of my 2022 goals is to not be.)

The first three Tumblrs I remember looking at before we made this blog were @littleeyesofpallas’s Bleach name posts, @recurring-polynya’s meta (specifically the Renji fashion posts, because I am obsessed with Renji’s koi hoodie and overall think he’s the best dressed in the series; and also the post about Bleach and The Abhorsen Trilogy, a series that is my entire childhood and also the origin of my usual online name, outside of Tumblr), and @kaicko’s tiny Hyourinmaru art.

As far as what inspires posts or fics, I guess like everyone else here… THEM. The cast of Bleach! My desire to spend time with them! <33333 I like hanging out with them, and having places to hang out with them that exist in different registers, whether it’s omake memes or taking them very seriously in fanfic.

Bleachbleachbleach is such a silly name--it was supposed to be a placeholder. (Fascinating, right? Because I know what you’re thinking—in no way does this subtle and eminently clever name sound like a placeholder!)--and I just copied the name of the screensharing room we’d been using to watch… Bleach… But it’s our brand now and also frankly what I envision my ideal life to be. The message exchange has been slightly edited for clarity and to remove some somewhat embarrassing messages in which we talk about posts/blogs we like, which are literally the ones whipplefilter mentioned above.

I find it hilarious that basically everything about the blog was supposed to be temporary. The name, the banner, layout, userpic... everything was supposed to be changed from the temporary images once we had a better grasp of the blog and more time. The pfp and banner are placeholders and something we have discussed updating/making better for... basically the entire 10mo that this blog has been around. And yet we still haven't done it, and now it's probably become somewhat of our brand. I do think the blog navigation is incredibly ugly/difficult to use, so maybe I will get around to changing it...

I'd like to point out that LOL, I mention wanting to have useful tags, and that is definitely not something we have here. If anything, they are probably the opposite of useful. XDDD

In all seriousness though, I do think we've met some wonderful people in the Bleach tumblr community, and maybe have made some new friends along the way? Which is ironic, considering we thought we only needed the imaginary Bleach friends. But it's nice to have friends that you can interact with! So please, feel free to message us!!

so this was a while back and was a whole thing: I tagged a gifset with a compliment about the choice for the Lyanna gif in it because I thought it captured her grief over the murder of her brother and father, but somehow this was anti Rhaegar x Lyanna so I got a direct message from the op to remove the set because they saw my tag and didn't like it. I said no because quite frankly I thought (and still think) that request was ridiculous and petty and also made no sense, and tbh I'd rather they just block me, which they did.

then I heard that they announced my sins to the RxL stan circles and a lot of the shippers came up with the term "neutrals" for asoiaf blogs that didn't stan characters or ships and they accused them of being "fake" and "secret antis" and apparently they're still pissed and using it for anyone who disagrees with their interpretations. can probably find more specifics in my fandom wank tag but it was a while back and aside from thinking it was kind of hilarious, I'm pretty over it lol

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines

I have a lot of what-ifs and alternate timelines for Vanya lmao, especially ones that prevent the apocalypse because I’m a sucker for a happy ending tbh

What if Vanya was included? Why not? Klaus’s powers weren’t useful for missions, Allison’s story for Claire was literally like “yeah Klaus got distracted by ghosts in the background lol��� so it’s not like a kid without offensive powers couldn’t do it

you have rebellious Vanya aus, where she decides, like some neglected children do, so act out. If her father isn’t going to acknowledge anything good about her, she’s going to make him acknowledge the bad. Punishment might be the only time he pays attention to her, after all.

(let’s call this an au where the pills suppress her powers but not so much her emotions)

So you have an au where she sneaks out and joins the missions. She breaks into the mausoleum and picks Klaus up and stares her father down with a challenge in her eyes. 

Five vanishes, and Vanya gets worse. She plays her violin at 2 in the morning. She refuses to eat her broccoli. she teams up with diego to see who can piss dad off the most

(her and Diego actually get along very well in this sort of au, honestly)

Vanya gets out and plays the violin and gets angry. She plays with fury and fire and gets second chair, because Helen is actually really very good. But she makes Helen work for it. Helen isn’t secure in her position, she always knows that Vanya is a step away from taking it from her

and maybe that should make them enemies, but it doesn’t. They’re rivals. Helen respects the hell out of Vanya, and Vanya can’t help but admire the woman who makes the most difficult pieces look effortless

and then five shows up, feral and aching

and five tells vanya about the apocalypse, and vanya thinks about their father saying time travel messed with the mind, and then she thinks - fuck the old man he was wrong about her (ordinary, fuck that, she’s Vanya Fucking Hargreeves) and he was probably wrong about Five, too

and Five is wholeheartedly believed

“Let me call Diego,” Vanya says when Five tells her about the eye, “I bet he could totally wear a police uniform and get info about the eye. And if not, I’m absolutely sure Klaus could improvise a solution. He’s good at that.”

“Klaus??” Five asks, vaguely suspicious.

“We don’t talk about the Sleepover of 2012.” Vanya intones solemnly, and refuses to answer any further questions on the topic.

Harold Jenkins comes to the apartment and tries to woo Vanya or whatever, and Vanya is kind of like... “Look, Leonard. I can be your teacher for violin. It’s my job. But I am in a relationship. And also like, super gay. If you have a problem with that then I am not the teacher for you.”

Actually scratch Diego and Klaus getting called, which they do, Vanya looks at them and her thirteen year old brother and is like “wait. actually i know someone infinitely better to crack this case wide open.”

“Who?” Five, Klaus, and Diego all ask

“My girlfriend.” Vanya says proudly, called Helen up.

And Helen walks into the building like she’s at fucking war and has such demanding confidence that they just give her the information she seeks and apologize for inconveniencing her.

“Hey Vanya are we still on for date night tomorrow?” Helen casually asks after, and Five kind of wants to be her when he grows up honestly after watching her verbally eviscerate Lance or whatever the fuck his name is

“Yeah.” Vanya confirms, “Unless there’s other apocalypse stuff to do?”

“You take all the time you need, honey.” Helen says warmly, “After all the more time you take the less you have to practice.”

“I’m gonna destroy the concert piece and you know it.” Vanya threatens.

Helen sniffs, “Okay, whatever you say second chair.”

and then they kiss and Helen ditches and the others just kind of look at Vanya judgingly

“In fairness, she’s very hot and very talented.” Vanya defends herself.

Klaus nods sagely. Vanya nods back. He gets it. 

“Concert piece?” Diego asks, because he has priorities.

“Yeah, I’ve already asked for tickets for all of you and you will be attending Diego.” Vanya smiles prettily with all her teeth.

“When is it?” Five asks

“April 1st.” Vanya tells him, “And no that isn’t an April Fools joke. You will attend and you will marvel at my skill. And maybe run interference between Helen and Allison because I’m kind of afraid they’re going to rip each others throats out to establish dominance.”

“That’s the day of the apocalypse.” Five informs her.

“Not on my goddamn watch.” Vanya says, because her family will attend her fucking concert and they will make awkward small talk with her girlfriend and the fucking apocalypse has better lay down and get over itself because nothing can stop Vanya’s goddamn plans

“I can investigate Meritech more.” Diego offers, because Lance-or-whatever-his-name-is is clearly shady as shit, “I have police contacts I could go through. Hey Vanya, your concert tickets include a plus one?”

“They can.” Vanya shrugs.

“Sweet, let me see if Patch can come.”

“She’s way too good for you, bro.”

“Shut your goddamn mouth.”

Anyway the point is they all go home, and Diego goes to talk to his police contacts and Five is definitely at home for when Hazel and Cha-Cha attack the mansion, oops. 

“Whomst the FUCK.” Vanya yells, kicking Hazel in the crotch because she’s Vanya Fucking Hargreeves she knows self defense thank you very much

“Ah.” Five says. “Hazel. How’s it going.”

“Just peachy.” Hazel wheezes, “Why’d you betray the Commission?”

“Well, you know. They cut the dental. That was really the last straw.” Five says, sarcastically.

“The dental.” Hazel echoes back, nodding very seriously, “I fucking know. You know physical therapy isn’t even covered anymore?”

“No shit?” Five says, “I mean you’d think with a job as physical as ours...”

“I know.” Hazel howls, vindicated. 

“Five.” Vanya says, rolling her eyes, “The house?”

“Oh, right.” Five frowns, looking at Hazel, “I mean. Can you like, leave? And not come back?”

“‘Fraid not.” Hazel actually sounds somewhat apologetic, “You know what the Commission is like. They’re really gunning for you.”

Five nods, because really what did he expect, “Can you leave like, temporarily? I mean you’d pretty clearly outnumbered. I don’t even know where Cha-Cha is, but judging by the furious yelling she probably met our sister and brother and Luther is hard to kill. Trust me, if he wasn’t we would have killed him when we were like, eight. But for real, can you get out of our house? I mean. Storming the den? Seriously? What kind of information did they even give you?”

“They didn’t give us any information.” Hazel responds back, sounding appropriately outraged, “They didn’t even tell us you could teleport.”

“Well that’s just rude. You’d think they wanted you dead or something.” Five muses, “But seriously, get out of my house.”

“Yeah, that’s fair.” Hazel admits, and leaves, because honestly Hazel is chill like that and knows when he’s lost. And Hazel also has a lot to think about. Like the fact that the Commission sucks and doesn’t even have dental, and how pretty the donut lady is. 

and Vanya is just like... okay. Weird. Is that going to happen again? Probably? I mean. Okay, this day has already been so goddamn weird. This week, honestly.

And they keep getting attacked by the Commission. And Vanya finds out someone broke into her apartment and stole her meds. What the fuck. 

“Did your shitty assassin friends do this?” Vanya asks, waving an empty pill bottle.

“Why would they?” Five asks, honestly confused.

“Because they’re assholes?” Vanya says, honestly outraged.

“You got me there.” Five admits.

The combined forces of Diego-and-Patch (because Patch is actually thrilled that Diego is asking for help regarding an actual fucking crime) figure out that the eyeballs are being sold illegally

Klaus is not kidnapped so he’s fine, just tagging along and living his best life, however this also means that Klaus does not steal the briefcase and Hazel and Cha-Cha are fine

Vanya keeps Five close at hand because frankly she doesn’t want him to leave again and she did really miss him. Also if she does save the world she can lord it over Helen’s head forever. 

And so Five is around when Vanya’s powers manifest, probably because they just got targeted by commission goons again because they’re trying real hard to kill five and separate Vanya

“Holy SHIT.” Five says, very intelligently, “You have POWERS.”

“Wow. Gonna have to write a fucking sequel to the shit-talking-dad book.” Vanya says, honestly a little light headed.

And then Vanya finds out her powers are sound based.

“Oh no.” Vanya says, “Where the fuck are my pills. I am not relearning how to play the violin with-powers a few days before the big concert Five, what the fuck.”

“But you need to learn to control them!” Five protests, “They’re your powers!”

“They’re a goddamn inconvenience is what they are.” Vanya states, “I mean, what am I going to do with them? Stop a bank robbery with the Umbrella Academy? Yeah, no thanks, that ship has sailed and sunk to the bottom of the ocean Titanic style. I’ll figure them out when I’m not in danger of blasting the audience halfway across the continent.”

“Yeah.” Five admits, “That’s fair.”

“Besides, if I’ve been on that shit as long as I have, and it’s been a long time, I cannot even IMAGINE what quitting cold turkey will do.” Vanya points out, very sensibly, like a siblings who has watched Klaus go through withdrawal symptoms more than once.

“Maybe there’s extra at the manor?” Five suggests, “Pogo probably knows.”

“Oh yeah I bet Pogo knows something.” Vanya mutters maybe a little bitterly.

They go back to the mansion and the Commission is honestly pulling their hair out tbh, and they ask Pogo who kind of pales and is like “UHHHH YES I CAN GET VANYA EXTRA PILLS” and goes to get them from whatever stash

“Fucking sweet.” Vanya whispers, entirely done with this situation, “The only adult male role model I had and he hid my powers from me and betrayed me. Love that for us.”

Five shrugs, “I mean, you’re right. All of our adult role models were all kinds of fucked up.”

“You vanished when we were 13.” Vanya says, “Didn’t you find like, any other adults ever?”

“Oh let me tell you about the Handler.” Five says, and proceeds to do just that. Because let’s be real, the Handler was the only human interaction Five had after forty odd years alone it was pretty damn important

Vanya, on the other hand, has strong plans to eviscerate the Handler should the two ever meet because Five deserved way better than to be forcibly made into an assassin?? honestly fuck that woman

that’s it that’s the au

Vanya finds out she has powers and is like “i have a LIFE i don’t want to interrupt it with bullshit POWERS,,, also going cold turkey off my meds seems like a bad idea if I don’t want to deal with withdrawal symptoms during my concert for fucks sake, my gf would never let me live it down if i skipped”

so vanya takes her meds, does NOT destroy the world, makes every one of her siblings go to the concert and even invites Hazel and Agnes after Hazel betrays Cha-Cha to join team No-Apocalypse. 

and then introduces them all to her girlfriend

“Holy shit Vanya.” Helen deadpans, “Your family is all kinds of fucked up.”

“I know.” Vanya says, aggrieved, “It’s been a long fucking week. Want to go camping and help me figure out my cool sound based powers? Bet they’ll make me a better violin player than you.”

“I think the fuck not.” Helen hisses, always up for a challenge, “Let’s do this. Me and my violin vs. you and your dumb baby powers. You’re on.”

“FAMILY CAMPING TRIP.” Klaus hollers, with all the enthusiasm in his little heart.

“Holy shit this is going to be such a disaster, I just know it.” Diego mutters.

“Shut up, it’ll be nice.” Allison says, elbowing Diego with her pointy pointy elbows.

“It’s going to be a shitshow.” Vanya says serenely, because it is. That’s just who their family is.

Voice and Style

and honestly i just went off the rails lmfao this is a long post, but hopefully it's useful. i wasn't 100% sure what you meant by style, but i assume you mean more along the lines of "voice" than the difference between like narrative, persuasive, etc. but let me know if you meant something else! what i'm going to do is 1) talk about voice in writing, 2) author voice vs character voice and examples, and 3) actually answer the question. i promise 1 and 2 are relevant to get to 3!

to start we need to break down what "voice" is. this is a term that gets thrown around a lot when people talk about writing, and i've heard people get a little heated about it lol but i'll give my take at least. there are actually two kinds of voice: the writer's voice, and character voice. we'll start by focusing on the former.

describing an author's voice is tricky, because it's largely subjective. some parts of it are concrete and easy to analyze, while others are down to the author's personality, perspective, and life experience. while it is something that you continue to hone as you gain experience, it isn't something you can measure or "rank" comparatively. so...what the hell is it lol

if we boil it down to the simplest components, here's what i think goes into voice: tone, syntax, word choice, and perspective. this isn't all that voice is, but these are the fundamental building blocks, and the way you use them is a mix of personal preference/affinity, your level of experience as a writer, and who you are outside of writing.

->tone is often described as the "attitude" of your writing, the mood you evoke with a combination of the other components. in "twelve moments in the life of an artist," david sedaris recounts his struggles with an attempt at an art career and a meth addiction, simultaneously. the subject matter is difficult and emotionally distressing, but because it's sedaris writing it, it's fucking hilarious. it's funny because of the tone, the ridiculous statements he makes, the witty observations and the flippant way he describes things. someone else could write the same story and make it a dramatic tragedy, but sedaris' tone is one of humor.

->syntax is the way a writer constructs their sentences. i know this sounds boring lol but it can play a huge role in a writer's voice. when do you use long and complex sentences versus short and simple ones? do you use repetition, and for what purpose? when do you use active or passive voice? for example, "the monster bit him" vs "he was bitten by the monster." these sentences mean the same thing but have a subtle difference in where the focus is. these might seem like small, insignificant details, but they can drastically change how a work sounds. the rhythm of your writing also ties into syntax.

->word choice is just how it sounds: what words do you use when you write? are you more of a "purple prose" type who likes flowery, detailed descriptions, or are you more sparse and "beige?" do you use certain phrases of colloquialisms?

->perspective is straightforward, too. do you like or have a tendency for 1st, 2nd or 3rd person? there's some variation in 3rd person, too, like omniscient 3rd or close 3rd. i think a writer's strength and preference in this, as well as when they deviate, also contributes to their voice.

but what about character voice? this is kind of similar, but limited to specific characters and how you portray them. it includes their dialogue and word choice but also their perspective or worldview, their opinions, and their personality expressed by their interactions. it's the kind of thing that differentiates characters speaking even without a speech tag to label them. there might be really extreme differences between character voices and the author's voice, depending on the character.

i always feel kind of narcissistic using my own work as an example lmao but i think changeling is a good example, since each passage is super focused on a particular character and their perspective. in first person, or close 3rd like this, a character voice can come out in narration. huntress sounds like this:

The hunt ends. Her catch, meager. Still, she will not waste it. Wolf Mother travels far to see the meat put to good use.

She walks the crossroads, strange paths through the strange world. Sniffs out the road she needs and steps through thick fog. Darkness gives way to orange autumn haze. Eternal harvest season. Blackened corn rots on the stalk. Machinery rusts in the fields. Bloated animal bodies decay in old barns. It is sad and stifling, the stench of forgotten things. And there—the farmer’s son. Lopsided boy. He stands on his porch, wiping blood and grime from his hammer. Distrustful, he watches Wolf Mother. Above, a slow-turning weathervane creaks.

her sentences are often short and choppy. the unusual syntax (the hunt ends. her catch, meager) gives it a feeling like a feral stream of consciousness. rotten corn, machine rust and bodies decaying are visceral, smelly descriptions because her sense of smell is especially strong and she relies on it to interact with the world. in contrast, ghostface sounds like this:

He’s hanging around Haddonfield when She comes calling, because he doesn’t have a realm of his own. Oh, no, no, no, of course it’s not a problem. He doesn’t mind at all, honest! It’s just, you know, he’s real good at this whole ritualistic murder thing. Got a knack for it, you might say. He was something of a professional before he ever got brought on board with an impressive résumé spanning most of the continental United States—not that he’s bragging, of course. He’s just experienced, motivated, highly-organized, versatile, and frankly, overqualified.

this is almost conversational. he's "hanging around," he's "got a knack for it," like the way you talk to a friend. his narration has a very informal and emotive vocabulary. he talks about his skill at murdering people like he's at a job interview, and he's extremely arrogant. my hope, as the author, is that all of this comes across and you get a strong sense of these characters just from brief passages.

finally, we can go back to the original question lol how do you write in a different "style?" i think you have to analyze different styles and voices, and figure out what you're going for. do you want to write something dreamy and surreal, or more dry and sarcastic? what tone are you going for, and how can your usage of word choice, syntax and perspective help you attain it?

i'm giving you homework lmao track down your favorite book and try analyzing the author's voice. take some notes on the tone, and if it contrasts the subject matter or genre (is it cynical? is it nostalgic? is it a lighthearted, fairy tale-esque fantasy or a more somber, gothic one?). also pay attention to the word choice. how vivid or descriptive is the prose? does it evoke certain imagery or themes? (in kraken by china mieville, a story about a giant squid that goes missing from a museum and the chaos that follows, he uses a lot of water and squid metaphors.) use the elements of voice listed above as a checklist of things to look for. if there's a certain writer you want to emulate or take inspiration from, studying their work like this could help a lot.

one last thing: since we talked so much about voice, i want to ask why you want to change your style. you can ignore this part if you want lol this is just a pep talk and something i think is good to mention. if you want to focus on differentiating character voices, or trying out a new style for fun, that's awesome! you can and should experiment with style, but remember that your voice as a writer is something unique to you. it's not something that you have to fundamentally change. we can all learn from other writers and hone or refine our style, but i think who we are on a personal level affects our affinity for certain stylistic choices that form our voice.

for example, on a scale of purple to beige, i lean pretty lavender lmao but i'm not ashamed of that! i was influenced a lot by writers who have a (capital R) Romantic flair to their prose, so i like flowery language and descriptions of nature. if it gets too purple and "in the way" of the story, then sure, i might need to trim down certain passages. but my affinity and tendencies aren't something i'm going to get rid of altogether, rather something i'll practice so they're super polished. once you identify your voice, i think you should embrace it and roll with it.

AM and CF part 2 claude comes off as very fake it until you make it. i wrote a post about claude and trust as well as one about non vw claude... somewhere... that talks more about these things (i don’t think i tagged any of it... sorry). post deirdriu he staked all his hopes and dreams on this one plan and he failed. he can potentially lose everything and its devastating to him. but claude would portray weakness in one area to hide the things he truly cares about and the things that actually hurt him and you see this act in non vw routes because he never quite opened up and connected with people like he does in vw. claude starts off not trusting anyone, but trusting his ability to read people and manipulate them. he doesn’t grow out of this on any route except vw.

oh edelgard definitely bunker’s down when threatened. her entire field of view shrinks and she doubles down on whatever path she set herself upon before. claude and edelgard are ideologically compatible, but don’t take what claude says at face value.

i wrote a post a while back that outlines a few crimson flower verdant wind fusion routes and i think you should take a look. where is the post? i don’t know. but its out there. good luck.

don’t forget that claude only became king because he led the winning side of the war in fodlan. his dad has to see that it was claude that won. he doesn’t automatically become king. i see this problem a lot where people think “oh of course claude becomes king” like its destiny for him but no the default is not claude becomes king its quite frankly the opposite. claude has everything against him he isn’t even being considered for the throne. claude has forge his path to the kingship one hard won brick at a time. treating is as anything less is a disservice to cladue and undermines all he actually managed to accomplish.

this one i didn’t write out but when i was plotting out the vw+cf fusion i kept running into the road block that is byleth, because of how highly emotionally attached edelgard it to byleth like she really latches on byleth became central to the story and so slowly it became not the story of edelgard and claude, but of byleth. but i stopped myself there and never typed it out.

im guessing you played as female byleth? i prefer male byleth’s design, but i ended up playing female byleth to 100% the game and collect every single s support.

i find the sheer number of times claude gives up positions of power to be hilarious. edelgard is a bit more comfortable in power but in the end to both of them power is only a means to a ends, thats why you see both of them abdicating in a number of their end cards.

fe3h’s a beautiful mess so a true rewrite would disentangle what was included for resource limitations and what furthers the themes and character arcs. mm i wanna see almyra too but i fear whatever the devs come up with would pale in comparison to whats in my head. you should check out microlm for almyra headcanons

 I can’t stay mad at them long. They’re too precious. My child is just so happy and carefree, always complimenting my meals. Winston too, actually. Maybe she learned it from watching him. This entire trip has been eye opening. Outside of our debates, Winston isn’t too chatty. I always assumed he was just quiet. I so enjoyed talking to him this week and watching his eyes light up. I even learned a few things about him. It’s funny. I went into this vacation trying to find the sim who showed up at my door that night and ended up meeting a completely different sim. I like this new guy. Well, I shouldn’t say new because he’s always been the same; I failed to see him. He’s interesting. Kinda weird. But we’re all a little weird in our own ways, amiright?

On this Harvestfest, I am thankful for him. We’ve had our ups and downs, the downs being especially maddening, but he’s still my guy and I love him. I’ve misunderstood him, made many assumptions and even more demands of him. But through all of that, he’s still here, loving on me and our daughter. He’s patient, and I appreciate that. I need that. He’s got his reasons for not wanting to marry me, and I need to respect it because clearly it’s something he needs to work through, get over, or whatever. He loves me in his own way, and his way doesn’t have to be my way. Frankly, I should take time to dig deep and figure out why this is so important to me outside of tradition. Maybe there’s something I need to work through. No matter what happens, no matter what he decides or doesn’t decide, I will strive to be content with what is instead of trying to make my life mirror some fantasy because chasing waterfalls has only made me miserable. He’s an old man now, and I want us to live harmoniously in the time we have left because Watcher knows when he’s gone I’ll be a hot mess.

I started to put this in the tags, but it got way too long. You guys... I don’t know WHO this sim is that showed up at the cabin, but can we make sure the other guy stays gone?? It’s almost like he felt the pressure from all of us and knew he had to shape up or else lol. I know Amina has many hangups, and she is just as guilty as he, but let me talk about Winston the sim real quick because he is the reason I’ve taken the story in this direction. 

This sim... (sigh) Lemme tell you...he definitely puts the DOLT in aDOLTing that’s for sure! This challenge is fun, but oh so frustrating. To remind you, I can’t control him. Or Emmy. Only Amina. As far as autonomy goes, he is the worst of the worst lol. I’ve had sims in the past that I often left autonomous. Some were wonderful, and some I wanted to hurt (looking at you, Penny Pizzazz lol). Winston definitely falls in the want to hurt category. I know some of you think it’s hilarious (and frustrating) that Amina was surprised that he talked so much, but guys...the sim literally almost never talks to her. He stands around until his bladder almost bursts, dances with Emmy (now that’s cute), sleeps by the pool, plays his guitar, and occasionally does a chore. Literally everything except act like a sim in a serious relationship. Amina, on the other hand is a boss for real for real. She is ALWAYS grinding. When I leave her alone, the girl is about her business, interviewing sims, writing articles, and recording style guides. Frustration aside, though, I really do love how our sims are not cookie cutter. Much like own children, we never know how our sims will turn out.

Anyway...let’s get back on track. Amina and Winston really did feel more like roommates. But Vacation Winston was great! This was the first time I felt like they were an actual family. He literally talked to Amina the entire time. Wherever she was, he came and chatted her up. He did most of the chores, was very affectionate toward her and initiated ALL the woohoo (much to the child’s dismay lol), kept Emmy entertained, and all the things I expected him to do as a member of the family lol. I was just as surprised as Amina, and I can’t wait for you guys to see if this behavior remained after they returned home. Their journey toward getting on the same page will be long, and they have much to discuss and learn. But I’m liking the direction they’re headed.
