This is both related and unrelated but genuinely I would love a study to be done on OCD and radicalization/likelihood of joining a cult.
Genuinely religion and cult thinking are the perfect combination to generate OCD but also soothe it.
My cousin has scrupulosity OCD, meaning he is obsessed with the idea of himself and other people sinning before God to the point that he has been unable to leave his house for five years.
For those who don't know the treatment for OCD outside of medication is ERP (exposure response prevention) therapy. The method of which is to expose yourself in leveling doses to the things that make you afraid to desensitize your brain's panic response. So if someone's having intrusive thoughts about harming themselves, an Exposure their therapist might have them do is try holding a knife for longer and longer periods of time without self soothing after.
However here's the thing-
For my cousin his exposures that his therapist was trying to get him to perform were "say the Lord's name in vain", "don't pray before eating", "throw the Bible on the ground." And his parents wouldn't make him do it because then he "would actually be sinning".
He was also obsessed with me going to hell for being queer as well as his little sister. He'd constantly demand people repent or apologize.
I myself have had weeks of being convinced that I was being tortured by God like Job for my sins. As a kid I was convinced I was a prophet of God who could only foresee tragedy and my parents would regularly tell me that they knew I had sinned or lied because God had told them.
People with OCD are just so particularly vulnerable to this kind of thought control but also the dynamic of being told EXACTLY what you need to do in life and how you need to behave to be a good person is also particularly appealing to the doubting disorder.
((also I remember seeing this post a while back and going "huh that sounds like OCD" but didn't have the words to articulate like this person did))
OCD is a far more debilitating/psychosis inducing disorder then it's ever given credit for. Obviously it does not excuse abusive action or bigotry but it can definitely perpetuate keeping someone in that thought pattern. And remember it's far more common for good people to be obsessed with being bigoted/cruel/bad people than otherwise.

#i know I'm really not cut out for partnership i understand that about myself#it doesn't make it any easier to stop being frustrated when something is asked of me in partnership that chafes#i can know and anticipate the issue and still find myself absolutely furious that I'm being asked to compromise like that#i've learned to swallow the rage down more often than not at least with enough time and space#but the trouble with swallowing rage is that when you do it enough the grief wells up#and for me that means so does the psychosis#god i'm tired. it would have been so nice today to have $30 for some soup and rice from the thai place#and no matter how hard i work i never have spare cash lying around for such little luxuries as#food i can eat while vomiting every time I try to keep down water or tea when i don't have the time or energy to make it myself#no matter how much time i take off from work I never stop beingnsick and overwhelmed#so on either side of the coin i am in this constant rollercoaster to feel like i can survive#and truly?#the last time I actually felt like I had a partner in that was.....never#i have partners in many other things#in keeping the household steady and managed? lmao. as fucking if.#honestly that's probably why partnership feels so fucking alien to me#everyone talks endlessly about it when its feelings. but the logistics of having each others backs? lol. lmao even.#nothing logistical I've asked of another human as EVER been a priority to them#no matter how much partnership we may or may not have figured out#and at a certain point when you are constantly doing emotional labor for everyone around you and the thing that you value most#gets treated like barely even an afterthought#you start wondering what the point of it all is#i'm surrounded by people who need so much care and lack so many functions that I never feel there is anywhere to turn when i need help#and no one can survive alone forever i understand that#its why i keep making the effort to be in partnership with others regardless of how i might or might not feel that is being returned#i do think this can make me selfish sometimes and i don't really have a solution for that yet. it's clearly an issue tho#i dunno man i'm clearly being some kind of unreasonable right now but all i can keep thinking about is how#i have been holding us down at the cost of my sanity and wellbeing for YEARS now and I can't even count on 2 meals a day/a tidy home#i've started wondering how much enabling I'm doing

man, reading ch3 was a ride, it's like all fun and jokes and then all of sudden, Nope! It's time to be sad now! but it's so good with it? like, I really enjoyed how seriously you took it, and that moment in the classroom was really like 'oh shit this is legit' in a way that had my heart just sinking in my chest and with the tone whiplash from the rest of the fic so far, it was just literally so good to read. also, seeing byleth and the rest of the class just kinda grapple with wth to do with dimitri while he's deep in this episode is just very interesting, especially when they all have their own hangups and issues with everything. 👍
YESSSSS. I'm always so excited to post the moment the story actually kicks into gear, and this chapter was it for Weekenders. A lot of fun.
I wrote a post a while back about people's discomfort with writing severe mental illness,
and while I wouldn't say Weekenders is a spite fic, it was influenced by how difficult it was to find non-modern AU fic that wrote Dimitri specifically as somebody on the schizophrenia spectrum/bipolar.
It was so hit-me-over-the-head obvious while I was playing! His entire personality and behavior flipped on a DIME in Part 1, and it flipped 'back' in Part 2. He couldn't switch topics, he was ranting incoherently, he was having headaches, he was doing nothing but training, he obviously wasn't sleeping or grooming, he was convinced a 12yo had orchestrated an assasination - that's not depression/anxiety/PTSD, and it's not even just a psychotic episode (mania does have elements of psychosis, hence the paranoid delusions). And, obviously, the actual hallucinations, delusions, antisocialness, lack of grooming, impulsivity, etc, of Part 2 that rang very loudly of a schizophrenic/schizoaffective psychotic break.
But equally important is the fact that Dimitri's illness did not make him hateful and homicidal. Dimitri was always a hateful person. I don't think he's naturally hateful nearly to the degree that he shows while having an episode, but one of the most important lines in the BL route is when Dedue just says that Dimitri was always angry and hateful, and that he just hid it. His behavior in late Part 1/part 2 is him losing all capability to hide it. I don't think he's a pathological liar, and I don't think the Dimitri we see throughout Part 1 is 'fake' - I just think he withholds a lot. Dimitri's cruelty is just as important as his generosity. His hatred is as important as his empathy. The horrible sides of his illness are just as important as the comfortable sides. Do you see what I mean?
That is what interests me about Dimitri so much. Dimitri wants to be Marth. Dimitri tries to be Chrom. Dimitri dresses up like Roy. He is not. He is an angry, paranoid, brutal murderer. Any depiction of Dimitri that forgets that - that unironically only protrays the Dimitri that he shows the world and never the sides of him that he's ashamed of - is kinda buying what he's selling, and it both demonstrates a deep disinterest in who he is and a discomfort with the sides of his illness that aren't palatable.
Dimitri's psychosis did not make him hateful (I think his PTSD had a lot more to do with his anger problems). It made him scared. Mania and psychosis are a very, very scary experience. His mind is constantly telling him that he's in danger, that Byleth's in danger, that everybody and everything around him wants to hurt and kill him, that he is a sinner if he doesn't avenge his dead family. And Dimitri is a good child soldier, and he knows that we destroy our enemies with prejudice. He's a good leader, and he knows that the BL are never safe and that their enemies are everywhere. He's a good son, and he knows that you have to avenge them. Violence solves problems and Dimitri is scared and angry and if he doesn't solve the problem he can't protect the woman and people he loves.
This is serious to me! I'm trying not to make this THAT long but I could go ooooon lol. I understanding wanting to either make him realistically/explicitly schizophrenic OR make him violent, because violent schizophrenics are a bad and harmful stereotype. But I think both sides of him are important, because I don't want to whitewash Dimitri's illness or his experiences. It's scary for the people around you. It very frequenty is triggered from trauma and hardship and it is informed by your life. Like many characters in FE3H, Dimitri is the product of the evils of his world.
Byleth's arc in this story is about her growing into a human being. It is shown as a beautiful thing. It is wonderful to be a person. It would contradict the message of the story to show Dimitri as anything else but a human being - flaws, traumas, SMI and all. He was Marth to her. That's the point.
I went on for soooo long lol but thanks for the ask!

I haven't seen this take a WHOLE lot, but I have seen it enough to get. Frustrated. About it.
So for anyone who doesn't get it: no, symptoms of mental illness are not, in every case, majorly or solely the result of Dealing With Capitalism. Sometimes, they can be! Sometimes the symptoms are situational, and those situations are heavily related to how much capitalism sucks! But many times they are not. I am sorry, but mental illness and trauma and neurodivergence are still going to exist even if capitalism completely goes away. We still have a responsibility to treat the people affected by and experiencing these things with compassion and understanding. We still have to. You know. Acknowledge that their life experience is going to be a lot different than many other's is.
#I promise that when my ocd onset happened at 10 years old I was not thinking about capitalism#germs are still going to exist post-capitalism. the concept of a good person vs a bad person is still going to exist post-capitalism#which means. if those are your OCD Themes™. then. you're still going to have OCD post-capitalism.#and this is true for. you know. EVERY INSTANCE OF THIS.#you take things that are rooted in trauma like did or ptsd. I hate to tell you this but mistreatment and the trauma that results from it#are still going to exist in a post-capitalist world. bad people who do bad things WILL ALWAYS EXIST. so those illnesses are likewise still#going to exist. plenty of anxiety-based symptoms are related to fears that. have nothing to do with capitalism or financial security.#they are DISPROPORTIONATE REACTIONS. THAT IS THE POINT.#if someone has anxiety that isn't completely situational. or if someone has paranoia. that disproportionate fear does not have to#have capitalism to exist. meaning. you know. those will ALSO still exist.#adhd and autism have nothing to fucking do with capitalism lmao.#the existence of. for example. schizophrenia and psychosis HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH CAPITALISM????????#like. we can talk about how much easier it would be for people to get care/accommodations under a non-capitalist system. we can talk about#how divorcing personal worth from the concept of 'productivity' would help the people who experience the things I've mentioned.#I'm not disputing that. but I've seen...a not-insignificant number of people downplay or outright DENY the existence of these#illnesses/experiences outside of 'languishing under the pressure of capitalism/tying your worth to productivity/worrying about financial#security' and that is simply not how it works my friends!#tw: suicidal ideation#like. sorry. I did not seriously consider killing myself at age 10 to escape The Disorder™ for you to tell me that all my issues with this#illness would go away forever if capitalism stopped existing LOL!! LMAO EVEN!!!!!#In the Vents#the real horror was the ableism we found along the way

actually, it's Fascinating to think about how Jay being the main editor of the series minimizes his crimes/negative qualities.. I was going to ask 'Do you think he does it on purpose?' but honestly, I think it never even occurs to Jay that his actions might have consequences because he's SO convinced he's nothing more than an Outside Observer - even if he knows it's weird/bad why would it Matter to him? Or to anyone else? Don't they know he needs answers???
#N posts stuff#mh lb#i got batshit paranoid on my way to work and then when i calmed down i was like 'hang on a second'#and remembered that Jay mentioned he'd spent MONTHS stalking&filming Alex during that time between seasons 1&2 in a title card#he does the same thing during the gap between 2&3 with Tim; cuts Weeks of stalking down to like 45 seconds of footage#really has me wondering how often [bad] things happened bc Jay was skulking around making things worse w/o realizing#like. The Tunnel Incident - Alex (at least at first) 100% thought that stranger was Jay - 'i told you not to follow me' he yells#and knowing that Alex has lingering psychosis AND the Operator stalking him AND NOW a human stalker following him every day for MONTHS#following him and filming everything he does AND who has a key to his house like no WONDER he was so on edge#(not that it excuses the uh. murder but you Know what i mean)#not 2 mention the multiple Extreme violations of Tim's privacy - posting his college phone call to his doctor And his medical records#(Jay didn't censor those btw - Brian did; if he Hadn't i 100% believe Jay would have refused to - he was pissed they came to him like that)#how much Worse would that confrontation have been if Tim hadn't interrupted Jay by googling MH when he did??#it's no Wonder Tim refused to let Jay see the tape of Jess - if he knew about it he 100% would have started stalking her without giving#a Single thought to the repercussions bc why would he? He Needs To Know - why would he even think to hesitate?

TALK NERDY TO ME
✸ pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader
✸ synopsis: you love to just stare at spencer as he info dumps
✸ warnings: none!
✸ a/n: this isn’t proof read at all by AYYYY look at me writing again on here 🙌 spencer reid is the new loml btw
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You loved to listen to Spencer talk. And when I say love, I mean love.
He could ramble on about anything from the weather to the gravitational propulsion of the moon in comparison to the rest of the celestial bodies in our milkyway, and he could do any of it happily and until someone inevitably told him to just shut up.
That someone was never you though, and it never would be.
You didn’t quite know what it was, but there was just something about the way he spoke that was entrancing. His voice, his focus, the way he talked with his hands, and how his volume would gradually increase as he got more and more excited and remembered more details about what it was he was explaining.
If he moved around, your head moved with him, swiveling about to keep up, awe-struck eyes stuck on him the entire time.
Spencer could infodump about the drying times of different paint brands and you’d hand onto every last word he said, just because he was the one saying it.
It was safe to say that the team had gotten sick and tired of the two of you quickly.
Nobody else wanted to hear Spencer rattle on about useless, unrelated topics, and they certainly didn’t want to sit there and watch as you just prolonged the discussion by encouraging him to continue further just because you liked his voice.
And yet, it happens nearly every single jet ride without fail.
“I mean, really, it’s not all that uncommon for killers to write letters to their victims before killing them. In most cases, it’s seen as either a form of warning or of love. That’s why it never raises any red flags in most cases, because the victim is simply led to believe that they have a secret admirer of sorts. Oh! And a study done in the early 80s by Alexander Wilkins found that in over seventy percent of those cases, the unsub actually was in love with his victim or victims.”
Here Spencer was yammering on about false love-induced psychosis, and you were looking at him like he were professing his own undying love for you.
A hand propped up on the armrest of your chair held your chin, your big doe eyes watching him close and listening even closer.
You didn’t even know yet if it retained to the case whatsoever, it was just a possibility that Emily happened to throw out there in the initial case overview, and now you were all listening to the history of psycho killer lovers.
Spencer caught a glimpse of your wonder-filled gaze and smiled, continuing on with his explanation with a newfound encouragement.
“There’s no shot you’re actually interested in this,” Morgan grumbles to your left.
You swat a hand at him in a weak attempt to shush him, eyes still trained on Spencer.
He talked and talked for about ten more minutes before concluding the topic and being cut off by Hotch before he could cross into another one.
Taking the hint, he reclaimed his seat beside you, all rambled out for the moment.
When he does, you weave your hand through his, your hands resting together in his lap.
“I thought it was interesting, Spence,” You told him as a little boost of reassurance.
“You say that every time,” he smiled.
“And I mean it every time,” you countered with a smile of your own.
“Oh yeah?” He rose a brow. “Can you tell me a single thing I just said or were you just staring and not listening?”
After considering it for a moment you realized that no, you couldn’t tell him a single thing he’d said, having been too distracted with your enraptured staring to actually pay attention.
So you just smiled wider at him, leaning a little closer as you both dissolve into a fit of childish giggles.

The thing that bothers me about Timebomb is that it was so half baked and such a disservice to both characters, especially Ekko.
Jinx never showed any interest in Ekko. She has like four lines to Ekko in the entire show. Their whole thing was about unrequited love on Ekko's end. So why does she suddenly like him back, and not only that, they get a whole AU episode. It's strange.
And Ekko loved Powder. Jinx, to him, was Silco's lackey. He missed the girl she used to be. He didn't love Jinx. "I had a crush. Until you started talking to the gun." And even in the scene in s2 where he saves her, he accidently calls her Powder. He didn't love the person she became, rather this idealised version from his childhood which was then further hammered in by the AU episode.
But what really bothers me most is that they just made them cool with each other as if Jinx hasn't been killing Ekko's friends. In front of him. As if Jinx hasn't tried to kill him multiple times. Really? Ekko forgives Jinx for all of that because Powder was his girlfriend in an alternate reality?
They aren't even the same person! Jinx and AU Powder are completely different characters. The writers said they didn't include the conversation between Jinx and Ekko because it would rehash ep7 and that has to be the stupidest shit I've ever heard. Jinx is nothing like Powder in the alternate reality. And her and Ekko had a completely different relationship in the real universe.
Not to mention they both thought each other dead. Or, if Ekko checked on Jinx before he left, then at least Jinx thought Ekko was dead. And what? They don't even mention it? She just accepts "yep, Ekko is still alive", all casual? I mean, I know season 2 erased basically all of Jinx's mental issues and psychosis but that's a bit much.
Not to mention the bit where she jumps instead of blowing Ekko up. I've seen people be like "awww she didn't want to kill him so she jumped instead!" Uh. She's blown him up before. She literally tried to blow them both up on the bridge in s1.

I think it's canon that stan smokes and gets high when he was younger
So I'm thinking reader (they are as old as the og mystery twins) is the type to smoke when they're stress and they say that smoking/getting high clears the fog in their brain
So how do you think stan & ford react to this? I mean they know it's bad but it helps them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most research about the negative effects of weed I found online, whether or not half of them are actual negative effects is beyond me.
Stan isn’t a hypocrite, he’s gotten high before and so he knows what state your life must be for you to resort to getting high as a stress relief.
He fully understands why you’d always resort to doing such a thing but would remind you that you could always come to him if anything was ever bothering you instead of resorting to getting high.
‘I appreciate it but I don’t want to bother you with what goes on in my head, half of the time I can’t even put it into words that best describes what I’m going through but with this,’ you raised your blunt, ‘it helps me in ways that talking to someone else never could.’
‘Okay, just know I’m here to talk toots.’ Stanley said as he patted your shoulder and left you be.
Stan did it to escape everything and avoid the consequences of his own actions, so much so that he often abused the substance on more then one occasion, but after Dipper and Mabel came for the summer, he has later learned to cut down his smoking sessions for the betterment for the twins and himself.
So whenever he sees you heading out towards your designated smoking spot- the top of the shack- he’d sometimes join you for a smoke, especially when Ford came back and had been nothing but a stubborn nuisance as you shared common worries while the smell of his cigarette and weed was all you could smell.
Neither of you spoke but there was a solidarity between the two of you until you were done. Stan knew that it wasn’t exactly healthy but he wasn’t going to cut you off weed completely if it helped when you needed it most, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t not join you to make sure you weren’t abusing the substance like he did when he was younger.
Ford fully understands that weed is a natural product that can calm people who suffer from anxiety and stress related issues, but over-usage of it was highly discouraged.
Ford knew his brother did similar things in his youth and hated it then, but knowing that you did also only made his distaste for the strong smell stronger as he would then avoid any and all areas that you smoked in, and yet the smell clung to you like second skin and Ford was reminded of how much he hated the stuff and would try to give you something that would hopefully act as a replacement for weed.
Unfortunately for Ford it didn’t work and by the end of the week you were back to smoking weed almost on the regular to destress.
He’d even list off the risks you’d run if you low using the substance.
CHS syndrome
Elevated anxiety
Paranoia
Psychosis illnesses such as schizophrenia
Addiction to weed, if you hadn’t already formed one.
Confusions and or potential hallucinations
And so many more but the more he listed the less you seemed to care as you had relied on the weed for a good majority of your life, and did so in controlled quantities but understood Ford’s worries regardless in the matter and placed a hand on his shoulder.
‘I’m fine Ford, I know it’s not exactly good for me but it’s the only thing that helps.’ You tell him.
‘I’m here.’ Ford replied, a little hurt that you didn’t think of him as a good option for distressing.
‘You’re far too busy in your lab or out monster hunting to sit still for ten minutes and listen to me talk about my worries.’ You said as though it was obvious. ‘So weed is my only resort to calm mind.’
‘Meditation exists, so does journaling and or scrapbooking?’ Ford suggests and it was obvious that he was trying to mitigate any permanent damage you might do to yourself in the future.
‘Not my thing and I lack the patience when this mind is loud as fuck.’ You shrugged before walking up to the top of the shack to smoke, leaving Ford a little at a loss of what he could do for you now. He didn’t condemn you for your usage of weed, but he just worries that an addiction will grow from it and he wants to be there for you, he just doesn’t know how…

Cards:  9 of Swords, 6 of Wands, Justice rx, Knight of Cups rx, 3 of Cups, 4 of Swords
Okay so, I am seeing two scenarios;
Scenario 1:
You recently walked away from someone or something. This could have been an old friend, family member, colleague, workplace, or anyone or anything that no longer aligned with your values and standards. For some of you, the situation involved accusations or conflict. You may have felt deeply wronged, and no matter what you did, the other person refused to believe your side of the story. Perhaps they thought you had spoken ill of them to others, betrayed their secrets, or something along those lines.
Whatever the case, it brought you significant anxiety and a sense of hopelessness. You knew deep down you were innocent, yet you were still accused. After many sleepless nights, both figuratively and literally, you made the tough decision to part ways with this person. The reason behind their behavior may remain unclear to you, but this experience likely taught you something important: it doesn’t always matter why someone acts the way they do. What matters is that you respect yourself enough to walk away from toxic relationships and choose your own path.
There is so much positivity and genuine connection waiting for you ahead. Take this time to reflect on what this situation taught you. Rest, identify your boundaries when it comes to others’ behavior, and prepare to move forward. Whatever you do, don’t isolate yourself completely. Healing and growth await you when you open yourself up to new, healthy relationships.
Scenario 2:
There’s someone in your life with whom you need to part ways, but you’re hesitating. This hesitation could stem from fear of them or a fear of being left completely alone. For some of you, this person might be a friend, but for many, it could be a partner, parent, or sibling.
This person is highly manipulative and often moody. They remind me of someone who walks into a room and completely changes the energy, but not in a good way. It’s as if they drain all the positivity from the space. They are rarely honest, excessively temperamental, and highly manipulative. To the outside world, they know how to present themselves in the best light, but you know who they truly are.
You’ve likely confronted this person about their behavior numerous times, but they constantly deflect by playing the victim. Statements like, “Oh, I had a hard childhood; that’s why I’m like this,” or, “I didn’t mean it like that… Nobody understands me,” are common responses. This leaves you feeling trapped and hopeless, as if you’re stuck in a cycle you can’t escape.
There’s also a sense of dependency here. If this person is a friend, you might fear being alone without them. If it’s a partner, you may rely on them emotionally or financially. If it’s a parent, you might depend on them for shelter or stability.
Here’s the advice:
If this is a friend: Walk away. It’s better to enjoy your own company than feel lonely while surrounded by others.
If this is a manipulative partner: End the relationship. Please don’t prolong your suffering.
If this is someone you rely on financially or for shelter: I understand it may be difficult to leave, especially if you’re still a minor or bound by cultural expectations. In this case, focus on creating emotional distance. Observe their behavior without reacting to it. Don’t let their words or actions affect you. Slowly, step by step, work towards breaking free from this dependency.
By taking these steps, I promise a journey of peace and rest is waiting for you. A better chapter lies ahead—you just need to take that first step.

Ah, pile 2… I write this with a warm heart and a smile because this is the “everything depends on you” pile.
Your childhood was marked by responsibilities far beyond what a child should bear. You were juggling school, household duties, caring for siblings, helping your parents—managing far too much for someone so young. Instead of seeing the world as boundless, as children often do, you learned to see it through the limits imposed by these burdens.
This sense of wonder and innocence was overshadowed by adult cynicism—something that has no place in a child’s world but was, unfortunately, present in yours. Over time, this stole your trust—trust in the world, trust in the universe, and even trust in yourself. But trust is precisely what our inner child craves: the belief that everything will be okay, that tomorrow will come even if we can’t be sure of it, and that our dreams can become reality.
Instead, this trust was replaced by frustration. These limitations, both imposed by the outside world and reinforced by your own beliefs, made it impossible for you to truly connect with your inner child. You may have developed feelings of resentment—toward your parents, yourself, those around you, and even your childhood as a whole.
Lately, you’ve embarked on a deep journey of self-reflection. Perhaps you’ve done shadow work, meditated, read self-help books, listened to insightful podcasts, or simply spent time sitting with your thoughts. Whatever path you’ve taken, you’ve reached a profound realization: the past is the past. What happened, happened. What didn’t happen, didn’t.
Rather than spending your energy pointing fingers at others or at life, you’ve chosen to redirect that energy and walk forward on your own path. This is a monumental step, one not everyone can take, and you should be incredibly proud of yourself.
By accepting the past for what it is, you’ve freed yourself from the self-imposed limitations that once held you back. Like the Wheel of Fortune, you’ve realized that everything unfolded as it was meant to. The wheel turns, and while it sometimes brings us to our darkest moments, it always keeps moving, eventually leading us back into the light. What you do with this light is now entirely up to you.
You’ve decided to chase the light of your inner child once more. Maybe this means pursuing a career or study you dreamed of as a child. Perhaps it’s bringing a creative idea to life that once filled you with excitement. Or it could simply be spending time with yourself, nurturing the love you always needed but didn’t receive as a child.
Whatever this path looks like for you, it’s clear that you’re excited about what lies ahead. You’re stepping into a journey of discovery, a path where you’ll reconnect with your true self. And here’s the truth: everything you need to realize your inner child’s dreams is already within you.
The word itself, “inner-child,” reminds us that this part of us lives inside. You already have all the ideas, passion, and potential. If you’re worried about not having the skills, trust that they’ll come naturally as you remain fearless and ambitious.
Destiny and luck are on your side now. As you move forward, don’t let future setbacks limit you. You are a free spirit, and this freedom will carry you to places you never imagined. Trust yourself—you’ve got this.

In the past, you’ve struggled with feelings of jealousy or envy toward the success of others—and deep down, you’ve been aware of it. When you saw someone achieving their dreams, your mind may have spiraled into creating reasons to downplay their success, comforting your ego with rationalizations. But every time, you caught yourself and likely wondered, “Why do I think this way? Where are these feelings coming from?”
These thoughts don’t align with your true character, and you know it. So why do they surface? The answer is simple: fear. When you felt these emotions, it wasn’t about material things like money, cars, or popularity. No, what truly triggered you was seeing someone fearless—someone chasing their dreams relentlessly, working hard for their success, and not shying away from attention or the spotlight. You weren’t envious of what they had; you were envious of their fearlessness, their clarity, and their determination.
For a long time, you’ve felt dissatisfied with your life. The High Priestess Reversed and The Moon suggest you’ve been stuck in an illusion, believing that “better things will come someday.” But here’s the harsh truth: how can better things come if you don’t take action to make them happen?
Sure, you may have liked manifestation videos, created vision boards, or written out scripts of the life you want. And that’s great—those tools are valuable. But manifestation without action is just daydreaming. Dreams will remain dreams until you conquer your fear and start working toward them.
The fact that you’ve felt jealousy or envy toward others is actually a signal. It’s proof that there’s something within you—an untapped potential, a dream, or an aspiration—that you haven’t realized yet. As Carl Jung famously said: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”
Now is the time to confront those unconscious fears and insecurities. It’s time to take control of your destiny and steer your own Wheel of Fortune. You’ve manifested and dreamed enough—it’s time to act.
The Ace of Pentacles is a reminder that opportunities for growth and prosperity are all around you, but you need to seize them. If there aren’t any opportunities right now? Create them yourself. You hold the power to shape your own fortune.
True prosperity doesn’t always mean material wealth. Sometimes, it’s about being content with who you are and letting go of jealousy and resentment toward others. But before you can reach this contentment, you must tap into your inner strength and confront your shadow side.
The King of Wands and Knight of Pentacles Reversed offer guidance here:
King of Wands: Embrace confidence, leadership, and boldness. You have the potential to dream big and turn those dreams into reality—but it requires courage.
Knight of Pentacles Reversed: Stop procrastinating or waiting for the “perfect” time to act. Perfection isn’t the goal—progress is.
Use your dissatisfaction as fuel to move forward. Reflect on where your feelings of jealousy or envy come from, and channel that energy into motivation.
The journey ahead is one of hard work and self-awareness, but the reward is immense. You have everything you need within you to transform your life and chase your dreams. Trust yourself, confront your fears, and know that you are capable of creating a life you’ll be proud of.

people will clown on me for this because he killed two people but I just love how sweet Rodya is. He is so cruel and mean and uncouth a lot or even most of the time, but then he does things like constantly thoughtlessly give the last of his money away to anyone who needs it more than him, cries when he’s in his psychotic episode and can’t remember who Razumikhin is, has that very sweet and tender moment with Polenka, begs the police to get a doctor for Marmeladov and says he’ll pay for it despite having nothing at all himself. At the same time he is capable of terrible things and is often terrible specifically to the people who love him and want to help, and oscillates wildly between the two. It’s that juxtaposition that holds so much of the interest of the narrative itself for me. A lot of people focus on how awful he is and while that is also honestly such a fun part of his character, that alone is not what makes him compelling to me. I have so much tenderness for his character despite what he’s done because he is just so mentally ill and has been through and been witness to so much hardship. He is not easy to love or understand but it’s so beautiful and sweet that Razumikhin, Sonya, his family and his other friends love him so dearly anyway. I truly think the suffering he is constantly surrounded by is the thing that has driven him to psychosis. Specifically I think of when he goes to the police station in part two and says he has been “shattered by poverty.” In these little moments of sweetness and lucidity towards others, even in the depths of his illness, we can still see the little boy in him who so desperately wanted to help that poor horse.

what I don't understand about syscourse is: why is only syscourse like this?
like... every other disorder ever happens on a spectrum of "disordered" to "presentation in the non-ill population"
I'm gonna take schizophrenia and schizospec disorders for this - specifically, the criteria as are in the DSM-V, even though I prefer the ICD-11 - both because CDDs are often mistaken as schizospec (alters mistaken for hallucinations, flashbacks for delusions, skill regression and loss for disorganised speech and behaviour, mood symptoms for negative affect or mania/depression, etc) and also because it's one of the most united communities I've found online
the schizophrenia spectrum is understood to be happening on a spectrum of
schizophrenia / schizoaffective -> delusional disorder / schizophreniform / brief psychotic disorder -> schizotypal personality disorder -> (attenuated psychosis syndrome ->) presentation in the non-ill population
what the fuck does that mean?
schizophrenia and schizoaffective feature all symptoms you can think of when thinking of them - hallucinations, delusions, disorganised behaviour, thoughts and speech, and negative affect (plus major mood episodes in schizoaffective, so a major depressive episode or a manic episode)
not always all of them together but all of them are diagnostic criteria. they also have a longer duration and generally - not always - more severe symptoms.
delusional disorder and brief psychotic disorder feature less symptoms - namely they don't feature negative symptoms, and delusional disorder only features delusions as the name... suggests. brief psychotic disorder also states that the person must have a full return in functionality after the episode (1 day to 1 month in duration)
schizophreniform is on a thin line. it features all symptoms of schizophrenia minus the duration - 1 month to 6 months, vs 6+ months for schizophrenia. it's usually diagnosed when psychiatrists aren't sure whether the duration qualifies for schizophrenia or not, so it's a temporary diagnosis to wait it out and see if the symptoms resolve after 6 months or are enduring.
schizotypal is both on the schizophrenia spectrum and a personality disorder. full psychotic episodes are fairly rare and I get them under stress, usually a traumatic flashback. it's more about how it relates to others and sense of identity - the personality features.
attenuated psychosis syndrome is not officially recognised in the DSM-V, it's in "conditions for further study". it's still interesting to me because it blurs the lines between psychotic and non-psychotic even more. it features quasi-psychotic symptoms that are distressing enough to be disordered, but never get severe enough to qualify to a schizospec disorder. I would love to find out more about it personally if it ever were to be included in the official diagnosis, or if there are studies on similar phenomena
"in the non-ill population" means that experiencing symptoms alone, without impairment or distress, is not enough for a diagnosis. you're someone who experiences hallucinations, delusions etc but you don't have a schizospec disorder or another disorder that could cause the symptom (such as bipolar, major depression, a personality disorder)
however... what was it all about?
the schizophrenia spectrum is so, so diverse. someone who's been hallucinating for 2 days and has no other impairment is as psychotic as a severely schizophrenic person who's homeless, without a job, can't take care of themselves on their own, etc is
it would be stupid and pointless to kick one out. schizophrenia and schizoaffective aren't less diagnosed because non-ill psychotic people exist. there's no pushback against diagnosis of schizospec disorders. there is no "anti non-schizospec psychotics" community. r/schizophrenia is inclusive and wonderful, it specifically includes schizotypals and psychotics with or without a disorder, and non-psychotic loved ones, and researchers who'd like to talk to psychotics first-hand
why are we still doing this?
"endos are pushing research on CDDs back!" how would they do that? is there a billionaire endo lobby somewhere that can take decisions on mental healthcare?
"if you change opinions the anti endo community may welcome you" this was just vile to read
"endos are just in denial" they could be? most likely they aren't though. lots are very aware they're traumatised but also that their plurality wasn't caused by trauma. also for anything to be a disorder, it must be disordered. if they're not bothered by their symptoms and they're not impaired, they don't have a CDD. or a disorder of any kind for that matter. easy
this is just so fucking stupid. we will never achieve anything in the real world if we can't even agree on who the enemy is (it's not endos. it's ableism in the real world that has tangible consequences)

Imagine being 28(the op) and having this takeaway/opinion on arcane. I'm laughing at how ignorant and superficial and just wrong this whole thing is. If you say jinx did nothing wrong and in the same breath condemn everything caitlyn did... you have a very null and void "argument".
Tumblr media
-Let's talk about caitlyn: firstly they call her "white privileged" already admitting how many braincells they have working, which is none.
Also the use of the word "Machiavellian" is very interesting because using it to speak on caitlyn is so far removed from the truth, now if they had used the same word to describe ambessa, who they completely ignored an analysis on, as all the vehement s2 caitlyn haters do. We can't excuse caitlyn of her role she played but it's very telling the way the vehement, brainless, haters never ever bring up ambessa, which she plays an important part in weighing down caitlyn's shoulders and clouding her morals.
When does caitlyn ever use vi to excuse her actions or excuse the moments her prejudice shows? Never. Again yall just hate her because she's a cop.
A FICTIONAL cop. Using acab across all walks of life eliminates what it's meant to stand for. Some of you need to learn cognitive thinking and nuance. "Everyone in piltover is guilty and everyone in zaun is excused and rightful to their actions" that's not how things work. That's not even how acab works.
But again, yall are so focused on superficial moral brownie points and parading around false activism. When your politics and grandstanding only attribute to fiction that doesn't even align with irl.
Yes things can reflect reality and still have their own nuances. Arcane does, it's giving you the whole picture, you don't need to bring in the outside world. You are not smarter because you can't understand nuance and complex storytelling and can only spout "acab". You sure as hell aren't standing on any moral high ground.
-Vi, what is the commentary on her? If we're talking s1, she never left jinx by choice, she was kidnapped and thrown into stillwater.
Now if we're talking about s2, jinx is not a child, and on multiple occasions, jinx has made HER choice. It's very clear some viewers watched this with the desire for only 1 outcome: vi to never heal from everything she faced because of her past and because of powder/jinx. If vi only reason to live isn't jinx then the show is bad.
At some point jinx becomes her own person. And vi should be allowed to become her own. Vi says to jinx "you don't need me, you haven't for a while" or something along those lines, and she's right.
-Jinx. Some of you are so fragile and braindead you can't give jinx storyline any respect. It's always just "she never did anything wrong" and yall mean that so seriously. It's embarrassing.
"She's just like me for real", so you have major attachment psychosis and possess several counts of unwarranted murder? You can relate to parts of jinx, that's fine, but yall are so stuck on that, trying to be jinx or equating yourself to jinx, you can't see the story.
Jinx has multiple counts of terrorism and wrong doings. You actually, I don't even mean this sarcastically, lose any validity in your argument against caitlyn when this is your belief.
- in the full post they extend some form of understanding to every character except caitlyn. Which again, says all it needs to say. You are not morally better or a good person because you only see a fictional cop for their fictional title. If you don't look at people as people beyond that, that's when we get into a position where cycles never end.
To say all of zaun problems came from piltover and excuse jinx and silco... you are not an activist of zaun. For example, ekko, he doesn't just sit around shit talking piltover and enforcers. He understands that his own people, zaunites, are also part of the problem.
If you look at ekko and look at jinx. Zaun lament her as a figure to idolize, despite the fact for many years she was like 75% of the reason things in zaun got far worse before they could really get better. Jinx continuing to paint a target on zaun back by the end of s1 and then parts of s2.
Yall think violence against an entire system and people, vs those individuals who should be condemned for their actions and roles, is the answer.
