do yall ever think about bruce/batman!clone danny standing in front of his bathroom mirror after finding out he was a clone and silently tracing his face. The slope of his jaw and point of his chin. The high angle of his cheekbones and the shape of his eyes, the curve of his brow bones and the shape of his nose. The volume of his hair and the way it curls and gets fluffy when it gets too long.
His hair is black the same way a crow's wing is black. His dad's hair is black the same way a black bear's fur is black. His dad's eyes are blue like the ocean is blue. Danny's eyes are blue the same way a glacier is blue.
His dad has a square jaw and straight flat hair, and he tans and gets a face full of freckles when he's out in the sun for too long. Danny burns like a lobster and his face remains untouched. Danny has a sharp jaw and tall cheekbones, and Sam says when he's not smiling there's almost something regal about him. You would never call Jack Fenton "regal" when he's not smiling.
Sam says when he's not smiling he looks scary the same way a stone statue is. Jack Fenton when he's not smiling looks scary the same way that german shepherd staring at you across the street is.
Do you ever think he grew up wondering if he was adopted. Because of course, he has black hair and blue eyes like his dad. But having the same color doesn't make you someone's child.
Or, worse, things he's heard from the other kids and the other parents and even some of his teachers growing up; that he was the product of an affair. And that his dad was just too stupid to notice. And Danny would defend his parents until the day he died, because Jack Fenton wasn't an idiot and Maddie Fenton wasn't a cheater.
But doubt comes in with fickle tongue. his parents swear up and down that he is their child when he asks about either. That Danny just had his grandparents' features, but he was their son and they loved him.
But Danny doesn't look like either of his parents. His mom's eyes are blue like an aquamarine and Jazz's too. And they burn like lobsters in the sun too, but Jazz gets freckles on her face and so does Maddie. And as Danny grows up he doesn't bulk up or get stocky like his dad did, and when he hits puberty he doesn't shoot up like a tree like Jack Fenton did.
He stays small, and they say he's a late bloomer (and he is), or that he just has his mom's height. But he's fast and has good stamina, and some days it feels like he's built entirely different from his family. That the things they went through growing up just didn't apply to him. Jack and Maddie Fenton both had acne and breakouts when they hit puberty, and Jazz inherits it and he's seen the amount of skincare products she keeps on her side of the bathroom.
And then he hits puberty and breaks out maybe once or twice, but his skin stays clear for the most part and the problems and changes his dad went through just don't happen to him.
And the truth is worse than all of the lies.
How horrifying.

Bruh emotional support ghost kid? Well thats what they are calling him
Suicide cases in gothem are about to fucking plummet boiz cause this one weird blue eyes, black haired boy is now heading to your location.
How does he know where to be? Having a bad day and are all alone? No the fuck your not cause don’t turn around now but theres some shiny blue eyes coming at you from that dark ally. Oh shit hes here to drop some information about you and your lost loved ones that he should know. Oh god the closure. How could you have been afraid on this sweet, creepy, boy who just helped you find your way.
Meanwhile Danny is chillin in Gothem cause the GIW hate it there (none of they equipment actually functions in Gothem so it’s either super haunted or actually not haunted at all). Then all of a sudden he gets approached by a random ghost begging for his help because their sweet baby girl is about to do something horrible. Oops now all the ghosts are following their most loved ones around just to make sure they are there to rush to Danny for help when all else fails. Now hes getting to fulfil his protection obsession double time because one hes helping protect people from themselves and two hes protecting everyone in Gothem by stopping people from becoming villains for revenge. Plus he gets to see first hand how hes making a difference because all those people he saved are sending him some good vibes from all across Gothem.
Thank god he followed Jazz around so much to slightly absorb some of her phycology knowledge over the years. Plus it was actually pretty interesting so she gave him her old text books. Shes also helping him deal with the rare events where he can’t save someone. Just a moment too late or he stops them but they later succeeded in the hospital. Neither are his fault. Now only if he could convince his core of that.
Anyway why Gothem you ask? Amity Park would have been just as good tbh but imagine Batmans face when he finally gets to be face to face with the emotional support ghost boy. Why is he here? Bruce is fine. Batman is fine. Hes not gonna do anything crazy. It’s just a hard time of year. Around their death always gives him grief. But hes an adult and can manage it.
“You know they are so proud of you.” The boy states. As if it’s clear as day, even though it’s Gothem and never a clear day. Batman blinks at him, stunned for a moment. “What?” This boy can’t possibly know that. No one will ever know that, Bruce can only hope. “They see their home, full of such life. That big house that felt so empty, so cold, to them as well for years. Then you filled it with Family and Love like they had always wanted for you. They are so proud of what you have turned it into. Somewhere full of life and warmth.” A small smile graces his face as finally “you have made your parents so proud” and its all he can do to contain himself. Emotions are running high and sue him because he really did need to hear that ok. The boy suddenly looks to Bruces right with a confused face “aren’t all basements like that though?” Before Bruce can even get a word in hes gone. Just vanished before his eyes.

Ok so, hear me out, what if Danny thinks he and clockwork have a mentor and mentee relationship, almost like a family dynamic even. He gets to sleep on a couch on clockworks tower, hang around, and clockwork might sometimes even help him.
He’s happy, it’s everything he didn’t have with the Fentons, but, what if, clockwork only did it to avoid a bad timeline? He didn’t actually care about Danny, could care less what happened to him as long as it didn’t affect the timeline, and Danny discovers it for the first time when clockwork is very willing, and not at all affected, to end his life if he doesn’t complete a certain task for a “better timeline”
It’s not even a definite will, it’s just a slight chance of the timeline going wrong, and then Danny truly sees how little their relationship means to clockwork. It all crumbles around him as he realizes that the only “healthy” relationship he thought he had was build on straight up lies, he grieves for the mentor he apparently never even had on the first place.
Danny finishes the mission, and as clockwork goes to Pat him in the head for a good job so similar to a dog, a loyal pet to just follow orders in exchange for the bare minimum of affection and care, Danny avoids his hand and just flies away, core empty, void of any meaningful relationship, alone
He stops visiting clockwork altogether, and clockwork doesn’t visit either, barely keeping an eye on the boy to make sure he doesn’t step out of line, and if they capture and experiment on the kid? It’s not his problem as long as the timeline turns out alright

So, originally, I was thinking of how much the events that happen to him would impact him as Damian. But then I realised something, the events that happen to him don't have to be super traumatic to him specifically.
When he arrived to his Father’s house, Danny was, admittedly, a little worried about getting attached and not being able to leave. He didn't have much attachment towards anyone in Ra's cult tho. He wasn't fruitloopy enough to actually buy any of their teachings despite associating with Vlad.
Anyway, he whispered about his worries to Clockwork a day before he left to Bruce and thought long and hard about what to do. And well, he wasn't a Heir to the Demon for nothing. The training did bear fruits. All he had to do, is use the background the adults in his life so far were actively making for him.
He was supposed to be a child assassin that believed that he had to fight for his Father's affection and his rightful place, wasn't he? So that's what he did. He did feel very guilty regarding what he did to Tim in his first few weeks there. Stubbing him in the shoulder and then "attempting" to end him later on was going against everything Danny stood for but he had to do it.
It worked and the family, despite their attempts to connect, couldn't really see past the "Stubby baby ninja". The closest anyone had gotten, was Dick. On numerous occasions, Danny wished that they met as Danny and Dick and not when he was Damian, in fact, he found the whole family quite fun to hang around with. (He may or may not be planning on how to go about meeting them later when he becomes Danny again. Let's just say, he wasn't that successful in coming up with a plan).
He found a way to distance himself from them and stuck to it.
Damian was killed by Heretic and went to hell for a some time.
Welp, in order to actually reconnect with his ghostly side, Danny needed to die and Clockwork arranged for that. His trip to hell, which wasn’t revealed to others until he had to talk about it (not in detail mind you), was actually him going back to Infinate Realms where he spent some time catching up with his Rugues and checking the Realms over. The scary part of hell he passed through, when he was with other heroes, was just a small part of the territory he was in (if we take it post AGIT, then he knows he is a Bridge and was doing some much needed maintenance. If he's GK, then his presence there was even more understandable).
So, He was there and got revived but because it was done using Chaos Shard and not Lazarus Pits like he thought he'd be, he was back to being almost fully human with just some ghostly trates picking through (a little bit better at blending into thr shadows, some occasional intangiblity or invisibility, not much). It was... a bit disappointing.
When Bruce was lost in time, he helped Tim with finding him because he knew how to. Originally, he was going to just let Tim do his thing but then he saw just how much it took out of the teen, he couldn't do it. He just couldn't let him destroy himself over this, especially when his family wasn't believing him at all.
Damian helped Tim much to the latter's surprise.
The whole Lizard Cult Death Match debacle is also a lot less about him proving to himself that he wasn't a monster and more about the fact that he needed a sure way of becoming a Halfa again. It worked. After his first death during the Death Matches, he absorbed the ambient Ecto and was once again a freshly 14 Half Ghost.
Getting to know his crazy Grandma was an expected thing but oh well.
Learning that Pariah Dark was actively trying to escape through the Pits and wasn't just asleep was also a shock.
So since the Matches, under the pretence of finding himself like Bruce did, Damian traveled all over the world locating and closing the Pits.
He learned that Respawn was his brother and allowed himself a moment of weakness. He saved him when he was about to die and hid him with Frostbite (please, help me work this point out. I don't know enough about Respawn yet but the happiness on Damian's face when he learned that he had a Biological brother was too much not to include.)
Anyway, 16th Bday rolls around and... he leaves.
He didn't even wait for the cake or anything. (If we take it that Alfred is dead, then off. If Damian saved him because he was more skilled, then nice. You choose).
Damian left nearly everything but a few momentos behind and left. He suppressed the longing for the life he built, as dysfunctional as it was, and disappeared, fully intending not to see anyone again.
A few days later Danny was back in Amity Park and was telling his friends how he was on one heck of an adventure from Clockwork just now. Oh, and meet my new Brother.
_____
Unbeknownst to him, he was a very loved part of the Batfamily. He tried to be snobbish and rude and they bought it for the first year or so, but then he helped Tim and it started the trend of other members noticing his awkward kindness.
They loved their little Stubby brother.
They were distraught when he disappeared again. Completely disappeared. No trackers, no chips, no camera ever saw him leave (he used his Halfa powers to leave and Amity is so enveloped in Ecto, it'salmost on the line between the Realms and mortal world. Normal people arents even aware it exists).
Needless to say, they are frantic and are searching for him
Danny is reborn as Damian Wayne except he has zero plans of staying as Damien
There was an incident when Danny was 16 that caused him major injuries. in a deal with Clockwork as a way to technically rejuvenate him with no repercussions and as a way to still watch over Amity with full power. he needed to be reborn.
He is reborn back in time as Damian Wayne. Danny has to do certain things as canon events but by the time he reaches 16, he can leave and go back to Amity. which will not have even realized he has been gone.
Danny goes through all the normal plot points like being raised by the League of Assassins and going to train with his father as Robin but instead of treating it as his entire life's purpose he is treating it like a Clockwork mission. Danny has done a lot of missions where no time has changed at all between his leaving and coming back to the present so he is not very concerned.
Unfortunately for Danny he did not think of the loose ends he would leave. The bat family wakes up one morning expecting for Damien to be at breakfast only for him to not show up. They check rooms, Friends and trackers but they cannot find him.
While Danny is reuniting with his friends and about to start his senior year, the entire hero community is trying to figure out where Damian has gone.
#dpxdc#dc x dp#dp x dc#dcxdp#danny fenton#Look#i can't control plot bunnies#they took over#sorry for the long post I got carried away x.x#but yeah#Damian's adventures always had a different undertone to what we had in canon but others just weren’t aware of that#he tried to be his canon self and failed#sure he was behaving way differently to how he behaved as Danny but some Danny did peak through#*gasp*#what if his behavior and habits did change actuality and he just wasnt aware of that since it was very gradual?#no person can live 16 years in a new environment and not change#Danny wouldnt realise that until he returns#Sam and Tucker are trying to look past the fact that he changed but its VERY obvious#and they dont accept change nearly as easily as they thought they would#it's hard to see your friend as the same person when he acts and looks so differently#anyway#Bats are sad and Danny is more Damian than he thought he was#is this good parents au?#idk#your choice since both variations open up a lot of possibilities#sorry for the typos#no time to proof read

DPXDC prompt. Field trip.
Some people would call gothamites petty, but given that most of the USA population treated them as scum, they believed that their behavior was justified.
They didn't like tourists, to put it mildly. Therefore, after learning that in their city were people on a field trip from Amity Park who could not leave Gotham for several days due to weekly escape from Arkham, the news channel immediately decided that a short interview from the guests would definitely amuse the locals. The reaction of outsiders never ceases to be ridiculous.
Reporter: ~Good afternoon~ Gotham News! May I ask you to share what you liked most about our wonderful city?
Mr. Lancer*still in a cold sweat and looks at every passerby as a potential villain*: Uh, no, me..It's so unexpected. Well, first of all, people here are very…
Danny *is high after the tasting samples Dr. Crane gave him for free and is extremely eager to share his happiness with others*,* picks a microphone*.
Danny: Gotham is the best city in the world! Like seriously, damn, I'd like to die here. Although there are constant shootings somewhere, half the time people don't even shoot at me! I haven't been this relaxed since middle school! And in the evenings, there is often such a pleasant scent of fear and despair on the streets. This fear toxin of yours is a real miracle! It's sooo good!
Sam *decides to take the initiative in her own hands before Fenton says too much*: Personally, I am very pleased with the number of green spaces you have in your city. It's nice to see that here eco-activists are really being listened to. Also, the fact that most restaurants have a thoughtful menu for vegetarians left a very pleasant impression.
Dash in his favorite T-shirt "it's not gay if he's dead": Four words. Hips of Red Hood. The fact that it is not marked in the guidebook as the main attraction of the Crime Alley is a real crime. This dude clearly never skips leg days. My respect.
Tucker: What can I say? The speed of internet here, even during villains attacks, is absolutely unbelievable. I don't want to leave this place.
Jazz: I love Gotham! Finally, I was able to buy all the works published by Dr. Harleen Quinzel. *girl picks up an impressive stack of books* For some reason, they are not available online.
The camera points at a red-haired guy with a twitching eye.
Wes: I'm 85% sure Bruce Wayne is Batman. I have a proof and I am ready to provide it.
A girl with a "Good Guess" pin from Riddler enters and takes camera away from conspiracy theorist.
Star: Sorry, he slipped out at night and went to look for problems. Again. Don't pay any attention to him. He's always like this when he drinks more than two energy drinks in a row.

Mistaken identity
We’ve all seen Danny getting mistaken for a bat. But what about a bat being mistaken for a Fenton.
When Danny took responsibility for Dan the first thing they did was get him a human form that wasn’t his corpse. Between vlad, clockwork, and his parents they managed to get him a new body that had him looking more alive than ever.
He was a bit tanner than expected, but they figured that came from Danny’s ghostly side.
When it came time for Danny to go to Gotham for school, he refused to leave Dan behind. Instead, using the funds he got from the ghost kings treasury and child support from Vlad, Danny got them a studio apartment close to campus.
His parents outfitted the apartment with all the latest security, of course.
Everything was going great, all expect for one thing…
People in amity park accepted Dan and adapted almost immediately, having gotten used to the many quirks of ghosts long ago. Gotham….was a bit less understanding.
Luckily for him, unlucky for the rest of Gotham, the police there were incredibly corrupt and easy to bribe anytime he had to bail Dan out or, in the case of that one Karen that decided to give Dan shit for painting his nails, bail himself out of any trouble they came across.
Danny did his best to spend plenty of time with Dan, even when he was exhausted, he refused to ignore his little brother.
So after going through hell during finals week, Danny decided to take Dan to the zoo. Danny did his best to keep an eye on Dan, he really did! He had only sat down for a moment, just to rest his eyes, next thing he knew though he could hear someone yelling about violent kids.
Danny immediately jumped to his brother’s aid.
“I’m sorry,” Danny started as he interrupted the screeching woman. “Is there a problem here?”
Dan tried to speak up but the woman wouldn’t let him.
“This brat pushed me out of the way while I was looking at the exhibit and then spewed profanities at me!” She howled.
Danny flinched at the offensive noise on his sensitive hearing.
“No offense mam, but somehow I highly doubt that. My brother may not have the best manners, but he sure as hell wouldn’t push someone for no reason.” He couldn’t comment about the language, Dan knew more curse words in more languages that this woman could speak thanks to ghost speech, and he used every one of them.
“You little brat! How dare-“
“Of course, if you feel that strongly about it, we could always ask to see the cameras.” Danny suggested with a smirk. “I for one would LOVE to see what they have to show us.”
The woman paled before turning away in a huff. “I don’t have time to deal with annoying brats like you.” She said before turning away.
Danny’s eye twitched, “Good, because I don’t have time to deal with an entitled bitch like you.” Danny replied, ignoring the woman’s offended screech.
“C’mon Dan, let’s go get a snack and go see the penguins.”
——
Damien was thoroughly confused by what was going on. This was not how he was expecting this day to go.
He had snuck out of the Manor earlier, desperate to get away from his families judging eyes. The night before, he had encountered a smuggling ring, and after seeing the state the animals were in, he didn’t hold back against the traffickers. It was only because of his training with father that they hadn’t died.
His father called it overkill, he called it Justice.
After what he saw the previous night he decided to spend the afternoon at the zoo and bask in the presence of the animals, knowing that they were all well cared for.
And then the annoying shrew decided to ruin his day. He was ready to verbally eviscerate her when a large man stepped in. One that decided to claim him as his brother.
The man grabbed him by the hand after chewing out the woman and walked him over to the penguin exhibit, only stopping to pick up snow cones.
“I could have handled her on my own.” Damian said, before taking a bite of his treat, “you didn’t need to lie.”
Damian took a good look at the man before him, he had basically collapsed onto the bench when they stopped, the bags under his eyes made drake look well rested.
“What are you talking about?” The man asked before releasing a massive yawn. “I didn’t lie. Believe it or not, you’ve improved a lot since you came home to us. Sure, I could see you pushing someone out of the way a few years ago, but now?”
The man grabbed him by the arm, tugging him into a hug. Damien was too stunned to push back as the man gave him the most comforting, caring hug he had ever had.
“We’re all so proud of you Dan, you’ve come a really long way.”
Damien suddenly felt a pit form in his stomach as realization struck.
He carefully extricated himself from the hug.
“I think there’s been a misunderstanding, my name is not Dan.” Damian explained, pulling down the hood on his hoodie.
The man looked at him confused before rubbing his eyes. Taking a second look, his eyes went wide.
“Fuck.” He then proceeded to pull out his wallet. “Do I have enough to bribe a cop?”
Damian frowned, “why exactly would you be bribing the police?”
“Because I apparently just kidnapped a kid.” The man shrugged. “My names Danny by the way.” He said before sluggishly getting up from his seat. “Let’s go see if we can find your parents and my brother.”
“My father is not aware of my current location.”
Danny paused, giving Damian a long look before nodding, “We’ll if your gonna sneak out, at least you went someplace educational.”
Damian looked at him confused as the man stretched.
“Well then, let’s go find Dan and get something to eat before we get you home. I’m sure your father is worried sick.”
Danny then grabbed Damian by the hand and started to lead them back the way they came. The crowds parting at the sight of the large man.
“I do not need an escort, I am more than capable of returning home on my own.”
“That may be so,” the man started. “But I wouldn’t be able to get any sleep tonight if I didn’t make sure you got home safe. You wouldn’t want me to be deprived of sleep, would you?”
Damian considered the statement. The man was clearly on the brink of collapse. “Very well.” He nodded.
The approached the tiger exhibit to pure chaos as the animal handlers tried to retrieve a boy from the tiger cage. Danny sighed before Damian could try to sneak away and jump into action.
“And here I thought I wouldn’t have to bribe anyone today.” Before he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted “DAN FENTON! IF YOU DONT GET OUT HERE IN THE NEXT 2 MINUTES, ILL TELL JAZZ!!”
The zoo keepers nearly panicked as the boy immediately jumped up, completely ignoring the tigers and climbed out to join his brother.

“Meet the Parents (And Their Armory)”
When Danny said, “You guys should meet my parents,” the Batkids had collectively paused.
Jason: “Aren’t those the ones who tried to dissect you?”
Danny: “They got better.”
Damian: “You are very casual about attempted vivisection.”
Danny: “Welcome to the Fenton family, baby.”
Dick: “This can’t possibly go wrong.”
Steph: “Famous last words.”
FentonWorks — Amity Park
The Batkids stepped out of the Fenton RV, staring up at the lime green, Frankenstein’d-together house with a giant ectoplasmic turret on top.
Tim whispered, “That building violates every safety code I’ve ever studied.”
“Which means it’s perfect,” Jason grinned.
The front door burst open.
“DANNY-BOY!” Jack Fenton roared, charging out in a hazmat suit and hugging Danny so hard he phased to avoid cracked ribs.
“And these must be your little friends!” Maddie beamed. “Are they in your ghost hunting club? Vigilante group? Paranormal protection gang?”
Jason: “...Yes.”
Inside the Lab
Danny’s siblings (by chaos, not blood) stood in awe-slash-terror as Jack proudly showed off the Fenton Arsenal™.
“We’ve got Ecto-Blasters, Specter Snare Cannons, the Ghost Gabber 9000—”
“That one doesn’t do anything,” Danny stage-whispered. “It just yells ghost puns.”
“—and of course, my favorite,” Jack said, hefting a glowing, bazooka-sized monstrosity, “The Fenton Anti-Creep Stick™!”
“Can I hold it?” Jason asked immediately.
Danny: “You really, really shouldn’t—”
Jack: “You absolutely can!”
Danny: “—oh god.”
Jason grinned like a kid in a candy store as he hoisted the Anti-Creep Stick and blew a crater in the backyard. “I LOVE YOUR DAD.”
Gift Time
“So!” Maddie chirped. “We made each of you a custom ghost-defense item!”
Danny: “...Please be small.”
They were not.
Jason got a pair of twin ecto-revolvers — glowing green, sleek, with ghost-seeking tech embedded in the handles. He was in love.
Tim got a pocket-sized spectral scanner that unfolded into a full laptop. (“It hacks through dimensions,” Maddie said proudly. Tim nearly cried.)
Damian was gifted a miniaturized spectral scimitar. Jack added, “It sings your theme song when it powers up!” Damian smiled — a terrifying, sharp little smile.
Steph got an ectoplasm glitter bomb launcher. She immediately set it off in the kitchen. Maddie was delighted.
Dick received ecto-infused grappling hooks that let him swing through walls. He hugged both parents on the spot.
Later That Night
The Batkids lounged on beanbags in Danny’s room, covered in marshmallow goo from Fenton family s’mores night.
Steph: “Your mom tackled a ghost into the barbecue pit.”
Tim: “Your dad gave me a hug that cracked my ribs.”
Jason (stroking his new guns lovingly): “I’m moving in.”
Danny: “You’ll regret that at 3AM when the fridge starts screaming.”
Damian: “Your father attempted to high-five me. I allowed it. Once.”
Danny snorted. “He’s gonna cry from happiness later.”
Meanwhile, in the Fenton Kitchen
Maddie sipped her tea. “They’re good kids.”
Jack nodded, eyes misty. “Do you think if we adopt them too, we can finally start that Ghost Hero Team I always wanted?”
Maddie smiled. “Let’s give them snacks first.”
Group Chat: [Batfam + Phantom of the Groupchat]
Jason: Can I call your dad Pops?
Danny: ...I literally do not have the power to stop you.
Steph: i want to go back next weekend. ghost dodgeball rematch.
Damian: I defeated the kitchen specter with honor. Fenton called it a “heckin’ good whack.”
Tim: I still don’t know how the toaster is haunted.
Dick: Best parents. A+++ would let them arm me again.
Danny: they’re already building a tank for you.
Bruce: WHAT DO YOU MEAN "A TANK"
Danny: Too late B. You’re a Fenton by association now 😎

Lmao. This. Spoiler laughing her ass off in the background after seeing Batman's shocked face.
Also, I know people tend to make Frostbite heal Jason's Lazarus Pit stuff, but have you considered have him help with all the chronic pain and phantom (lol) pain the poor guy must had after all the awful injuries he had and that probably didn't heal properly?
Like, imagine some of his pain comes from the trauma the wound inflicted in his soul (because poor dude was literally betrayed and tortured and resucited alone, trapped, and woke up in a body that wasn't the same he remembered and got his throat sliced by his once-upon-his-dad, etc) and healing ghostly stuff equals or helps to healing his soul/spirit.
Am I saying that ghosts' medical care is more or less their therapy? Yes, I am.
Is not the same than human therapy tho. Imagine having to talk to a stranger about your awful traumatic death. Lol, no. They don't do that. It's more like a guided meditation and a safe enviroment to let themselves loose. Hence the ghosts going to cause trouble to Amity when the portal opened. Thought it was fine as long a they don't kill the little itsy bitsy mortals. They know better now.
Suddenly it makes sense why the all caste techniques made him feel better.
Also, once Jason lets out that the Joker, his assassin who he hates very much, is still out there and could come back to kill him at any moment when he wants. A contest is formed half an hour later: who avenges Red Hood's death? The one who wins get bragging rights and a set of autographed shirts.
Paulina and Ellie win. Ellie did it because street kids solidarity. Paulina wanted the shirt and was genuinely pissed at the Joker's clothing choices.
They and Jason are besties now.
Amity Park hates the Justice League but loves Red Hood and sometimes other heroes
A/n: I got this random idea so here it is. Oh, and this is good reveal AU ok?
-------
Due to the Justice League mocking them and ignoring their villain problems that were also publicly interdimensional problems, everyone hates the JL. It got worst with the GIW coming in, who blatantly went against the meta-laws (which included aliens, demons and so much more that weren't human from the beginning). They started to think the Justice League supported them.
In the Infinite Realms, however, there's a revenant that many adored and others respected. He did not hold back against criminals. Criminals that would rape, kill, traffic, sell drugs, and more to people. He especially didn't like when they brought kids into this. He'd avenge people the way they should've been: by promising that their abuser/killer/whatever wouldn't be able to do it again. And in the place they lived in, the only way for that to be possible was by major injury, heavy social outcasting, and/or death. Most prefer the 3rd.
And after how long the Amitians dealt with the attacks which eventually came to a slow once or twice a week type thing, they started opening their minds to the idea of coexistence. Well, further than they had. So when people started to cross over and start making their small haunts in their side of the veil, the Amitian's began to become aware of the popular hero Red Hood. He was part of the undead community, which was trustworthy in everyone's books.
So Amity Park started making merch. Most of it was for Team Phantom, but there was plenty for Red Hood as well. There were other heroes on the side, like for Superboy 1 (who they renamed to Supernova due to their hatred for Superman for 2 reasons, the obvious and that he rejected a mirror-born), and Raven (the half demon).
And with this coexistence, Team Phantom had noticed the positive feedback about killing in the name of vengeance. So they went on the offensive, and after a good year of that, the GIW lost funding for producing no results and just taking up resources. The acts were still there, but nobody enacted them in Amity, and nobody actually knew or believed them outside of the haunted city.
Then the Justice League find out about the hero group there due to tracking merchandise after they started to sell outside of the city. Superman was the guy everyone liked, so he was sent over. He immediately got thrown out and was now questioning who the heck Supernova was and when he rejected him.
Flash? Outcast. Everyone ignored and walked away from him. they had the police, who never did anything or even had to anymore, kick him out.
Green Lanter? Oh the poor guy. He had his ring taken away and thrown out of the city somehow. It took hours to find it.
Wonder Woman, they had to be ok with her. Not at first, but once Phantom had a talk with her and people learned that they were cousins through Clockwork (Kronos) and Pandora, they were ok. ish. Tolerated was the best word and she got the info back to the league.
The batfamily took a trip there, dragging Red Hood along somehow. And right when Red Hood was noticed, a crowd began to form as everyone practically worshipped him. There were many victims he had avenged and an Ancient (Lady Gotham) came and gave him the gifts she couldn't without scaring the guy.
At one point, the poor guy even cried.

My father's secretary
Danny Fenton did not expect to be secretary material but after 7 years of being a hero and having Jazz as his elder sister, he was damn good at it. He needed a job, he knew that, and Wayne Enterprises was willing to hire a 21 year old taking online college classes for aerospace engineering.
And he was fucking thankful for that cause Mr. Wayne was pretty neat and bought him good food and coffee whenever he looked out of it. Half his family were already in Gotham with only his parents in Amity. They were finally reformed and now their research finally advocated for the rights of ghosts and spread awareness on their culture. Good for them.
Jazz and Dante were in Arkham working as a psychologist and guard. Elle was still in school, enrolled into Gotham Academy once Vlad insisted on paying her tuition. To be fair, he was paying for Danny's tuition too.
But back to his secretary duties. His boss was Bruce Wayne, yes, but he did often work with the man's son and the current CEO. Tim was nice and had the same caffeine addiction as him. (Jazz highly discouraged this friendship in case they both made a monstrosity of coffee and energy drinks.)
But Mr. Wayne was the best. He was rather clumsy and a bit airheaded but he was the best fucking boss he could ever ask for. The man's paternal instincts were on point and Danny was almost intimidated when the man started handing him extra cash whenever Danny came to the office looking more tired than usual. When that failed, Mr. Wayne resorted to giving him more material things.
Now, he doesn't want to take advantage of this ridiculously kind man with a lack of self preservation (God, was this what Jazz felt about him?). But Mr. Wayne had given him this amazing coffee maker and then proceeded to give Danny the best toaster ever. And Danny has always been known to resolutely be against Billionaires adopting him. But Mr. Wayne?
Danny had honed his back talking skills to perfection to talk down arrogant elites that kept demanding for his boss. He mastered his customer service voice and that condescending look he saw the receptionists give people like they were tantruming toddlers. Danny was ready to fight for that man (Vlad was choking somewhere as the Fentons worriedly look at him).
Jason has heard about Danny Fenton a couple of times. Tim, Dick, and Bruce had mentioned him a lot. Bruce's new secretary that looked like he'd woken up from a coma and was comparable to a grumpy cat on his best days. He's seen the guy a couple times, noticed how he was almost as tall as Jason. Honestly, he kinda looked like a twig (but then that was because of Danny's suit that he made sure didn't completely fit him).
Seriously. Danny was willing to fucking fight anyone and everyone for Bruce Wayne.
The guy was strange. Very strange. Especially when the pits seemed to either become frantic or calm whenever he was around. It depended on the situation really, but mostly the pits grew calmer around Fenton. Like a cat that finally saw its favorite person. It was so weird.
He was drawn to Fenton, sometimes finding himself walking towards the man before he snaps out of it.
It's on this day where Danny was by Bruce's side, a stylus and tablet in hand. He was furiously tapping away at his phone, cursing under his breath about bothersome and stuck up cialiteses.
"Jason!" Bruce happily greets, "Don't mind Danny for a bit. He's telling of some investors for trying to meddle with the company. Tim is too sleep deprived to handle it."
"Where is Tim?"
"Danny threatened to throw the company's coffee maker out the window if he doesn't take a nap." Bruce chuckles, glancing fondly at his fiesty secretary. "Danny?"
"Give me a minute, Mr. Wayne. Some people are trying to squeeze into your schedule when I specifically told them that they can't." Danny says, clearly irritated but looks at Bruce with an apologetic gaze. "No—Mr. Luthor, neither Mr. Drake nor Mr. Wayne are available on that day—"
And it dissolved into Danny telling of what Jason assumes was Lex Luthor to stop his attempts. In other words, corporate for Fuck off.
"He's good, isn't he?" Jason humms as he follows Bruce down the hall, glancing at the tired employees that looked utterly exhausted and horrifically motivated. "Looks like adoption bait."
"Unfortunately, Danny is a very much against Billionaires adopting him. His godfather is one and has attempted multiple times." Bruce sighs, feigning a sorrowful look as he sends Danny a small pout. "What did you do when he tried the fifth time again?"
"I blew up his car, Mr. Wayne." Danny nonchalantly says, "But that only made him want to adopt me more."
Jason blinks, baffled before he's laughing at the utter absurdity of the situation.
"That sounds similar to—"
Gunshots tore through the air as people immediately screamed. At the entrance of the building was the Joker in all his insanity, guns blazing. Jason froze, sucking in a deep breath as he took one step back. They weren't in costume, they weren't the Red Hood and Batman in that moment.
"Nightwing, Robin, and Spoiler are on their way." Oracle says through the comms but that doesn't comfort him in the slightest.
It's chaos in moments and people are ducking their heads to avoid the bullets. Jason and Bruce look right at each other, taking cover as bullets ruin the walls and furniture. But Bruce is dragged from his spot, pulled towards the Joker who laughs maniacally as he pressed a gun against Bruce's head.
"Mr. Wayne!" Many people yell as they all stared in horror as the Joker threatens Gotham's beloved prince.
Jason immediately remembers an explosion and a crowbar.
(Reminder, Danny Fenton was very much ready to go to war for Bruce Wayne).
A tablet and a stylus was suddenly shoved into his arms. Jason blinks, turning to Danny who tugs at his tie and rummages through the counter for something. The Joker sees this, clearly irritated.
"You! Eyes on me!" The Joker practically demands, hysterical that not everyone was paying attention.
Danny apparently doesn't give a damn before looking the Joker straight in the eye.
"Eyes in me." Danny repeats.
A second later something was thrown and a cutter was cutting through the Joker's eye.
Jason gaped at the seemingly harmless secretary, unable to comprehend that this man had just thrown a fucking cutter into the Joker's eye.
Bruce is set free.
Everyone is frozen in place.
Everyone watched as Bruce Wayne's tired and overworked secretary beats the shit out of the Joker, saying something about how he wasn't going to lose a good boss.
No one particularly knows what to do once Danny pulls out the cutter with the Jokers blood and... Fucking shit, was that his eyeball?!
Dick and Damian arrived at some point, also too shocked to do anything. When Danny was done and satisfied, with the Joker still alive, groaning and whimpering from the pain that Danny inflicted.
As if he hadn't almost killed the Joker, Danny turns to them with a tired smile.
"Mr. Wayne, I implore you not to die. I can't lose the best boss that I've had." He plainly says and takes the tablet and stylus back from Jason.
Jason thinks he might just marry this feral man.
Yeah.
Yeah, he was definitely going to marry Danny Fenton.

watch me end up making a superdad au coz of WTNS
because!!! because i was thinking about how funny it is that Bruce's first two kids (Dick and Danny) would be superman fans, and how funny it would be if that influenced his opinion on Superman when they first met. And then I got to picking that apart, and how Danny's opinion and feelings on Superman would have the bigger impact on Bruce than Dick, since Dick's admiration for Superman (presumably) comes from the standard little kid "he's an alien and he can FLY" (and flying graysons) stuff. Which, while very very cute, is easy to ignore and disallow swaying feelings on.
But DANNY? It's not the same. While part of Danny's admiration comes from the same "holy shit he's an alien and can fly thats so COOL" vein, it also comes from a place of feeling deeply relatable to him. Both he and Superman were/are perceived as incredibly powerful, deeply dangerous creatures that are nigh impossible to stop, they have a handful of powers that are similar to one another, and they are (one of) the only ones of their kind. Superman is (one of) the last Kryptonian, Danny is (one of) the only Liminal in existence, and they might not be the same species but the principle remains the same and they're in the same boat.
As a result, Danny would just, god, he'd find so much relation in that. And yeah they're not the same but Superman would make him feel just a little less alone, a little more seen, and he'd find so much comfort in that.
And Bruce, by the time he meets Superman, would know by then about Danny's powers and his experiences and his time as Phantom and as a Liminal. And it's easy to ignore your kid's admiration for another Superhero when it stems from a place of plain hero worship or simple appreciation. It's harder to ignore it when your kid admires a Superhero because they make them feel seen and relate to them on a level you can't reach them on.
When that's the reason, how could he not think differently about Superman? When, by then, he's seen the scars left on Danny's body from all of his fights; when he's seen him cry and break down over never being able to fly again thanks to the blood blossom poison; when he's heard all about the struggles he faced with his powers, the fear he had about being found out, the fear he had when he was first developing them; and how he was ostracized by his city for his efforts just because he wasn't human, despite how much he was just trying to help.
How could he not look at Superman when they first meet, mask-to-mask, and have a little voice in the back of his mind go: 'my kid is a lot like you'
its making me emotional. if these feeligns persist im going to end up making a superdad au
#dpxdc#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dpxdc crossover#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#blood blossom au#dpxdc au#like it might not make much of an outward difference to anyone else how batman interacts with superman but WHOO boy is it there#the JLA is founded and eventually everyone starts to note that batman at least seems to *tolerate* Superman more than everyone else#and there are jokes about not even the Bat being immune to Superman's boy scout charms. and then they meet Nightingale and Robin#and both boys want to talk to Superman with stars in their eyes -- Robin being a lot more obvious with it. while his older brother lurks#nearby like a quiet shadow just like his dad. his voice softer and quieter and his questions more scientific and detail-oriented than robin#sometimes Gale's questions are more... wistful. almost. personal. in the sense that they are worded in a way that only someone who has also#flown before could ask. what it was like being on top of the clouds. if he ever got scared of falling. if he ever free fell for fun#if he ever worried that he'd fly too high and get lost coz the earth is always moving but when you're flying untethered to the axis ur#the only one not moving with them. he's very attached to superman's flying. many typically are but gale's is different.#do you ever fly out when its raining or snowing and you don't go anywhere but up just to see the rain and snow go down?#and then there are other standard questions that Superman's never even thought of. like how he doesn't have any calluses on his hands#despite what his size and stature would suggest because he's invulnerable. superman thinks about that one a lot coz it makes him sweat lmao#he remembers Gale turning to Batman and asking him if super strength would negate the need for calluses or exacerbate them since they're a#result of manual labor/working out and not necessarily a product and Batman didnt say anything at the time but Clark had the feeling that i#was going to be a topic of debate the two were going to have later. then Gale turned to Superman and said it was prolly a good thing he wa#invulnerable because that healing factor of his would clash with his ability to grow calluses and might make super strength difficult#idk what my tag count is but i might be getting close to the limit so supes cries when he finds out the full reason nightingale admires him

Shakespeare in the Park Got Nothing on This
Danny felt death in the air. He first felt it when Talia started following him. It was like he wanted to cough but just couldn’t. His ghost sense wasn’t fully activating but he knew someone death touched was near. One of the ghosts in the area gave him a description of who was following him and he knew it was her.
Despite his first instinct being to run, Danny quickly realized that it wasn’t like Talia could hurt him anyway. Being half-ghost had its perks, and his life away from the League of Assassins had taught him some perspective on threat levels. Besides, it had been nearly twenty-two years since he last spoke to her, and he had some things he wanted to say to Talia.
So Danny wandered randomly throughout the city as he thought of all the things he wanted to say to his mother. When he finally felt confident, he walked into a random coffee shop and ordered a drink that would signal to her that he knew about her presence. He couldn’t force Talia to sit with him and talk, but he hoped that she had just enough interest in him to try. As they had their conversation he could tell Talia was on edge the entire time. His presence was making her nervous, and for the life of him Danny could not figure out why.
But when she said the name Damian and the teenager walked into the coffee shop, Danny instantly knew.
“He’s your son isn’t he?”
Talia tensed, her back had been to the door of the cafe so she didn’t see the boy walk in, but she definitely heard the door chime ring. In a moment of weakness that she would normally never allow, she turned away from Danny to look at her son. Their green eyes met and Talia made a reckless decision.
The assassin pulled the knife from Danny’s hand and moved to puncture his larynx. Just as the tip of the blade reached his skin, Signal appeared next to her, forcefully grabbing her arm and slamming her onto the table. The drinks spilled and everyone in the coffee shop took notice of their situation. People quickly either took photos or fled from the scene, the baristas only stopped for a moment before continuing their work.
Spoiler stepped forward to direct the scene.
While Talia was being held down and restrained Danny got a closer look at the boy who had entered. Initially the guess had nothing to do with the teenager, but the closer he looked at ‘Damian’ the more it became clear that this was Talia’s son. The same death-touched aura that surrounded Talia was shared by this boy, likely the Lazarus Pits. Beyond the metaphysical traits, their physical traits were very similar as well. They both shared intense green eyes and warm brown skin, their lithe frames were practically identical and the sharp nose was a dead ringer. Damn, Fenton luck strikes again, Danny thought. The chances of running into his unknown half-brother had to be near impossible, and yet here he was.
Danny looked down at Talia who was seething, not that anyone but him would be able to tell. Danny would always be able to tell if his mother was angry; it was about the only feeling besides hate or indifference he was ever able to associate with her. So, in true Danny fashion, he did something reckless. He leaned down towards Talia’s ear, despite Signal loudly telling him to step back, and began to whisper.
“Good talk Talia, kind of nostalgic the way it ended.”
Danny knew there was no way to keep her away now that she was aware of his presence. But he also knew that he didn’t fear her the same way he did as a child. He no longer worshipped her as the faultless assassin, instead he felt an indifference towards Talia. She wasn’t the woman who raised him, no longer the tormentor of his childhood, just a hateful woman with no bearing on his life. If she wanted to interject herself in his life then Danny had plenty to say to her. And if she tried to hurt anyone he cared about: well let’s just say that there were plenty of ghosts that Danny could call on to hunt her down with.
Danny stood up and looked towards Damian, the teen seemed to be in a fluid flux of emotions. Indignation for the treatment for his mother, condescension at the heroes (likely because he knew that his mother could easily escape the cuffs that were put on her), and a calculating eye towards Danny himself. He was clearly League trained, and was very quickly sizing up Danny’s threat level. Danny wanted to laugh at the idea, but then he saw how viciously Talia was staring at him for even looking at Damian and all he could feel was bitterness. So she can love a child, he thought ruefully. Danny and Damian looked so similar, yet so different that a part of his soul hurt. Danny was pale in comparison to his brother (ever since he died he had never been able to get back to the darkness of his youth) and where Danny’s proportions were a little awkward, Damian had the figure of a supermodel. Whoever the teen’s dad was clearly had some killer looks, the father’s genes were clearly strong in him.
Wait, isn’t that Damian Wayne?
-
When Duke had seen the vision of Talia attacking their mystery man he had acted quickly. He grabbed Steph and shadow travelled them into the Batty Grind. When they reformed inside Damian entered at the same time. Signal didn’t spare him a glance, he pulled at his powers again to reform next to the table. He caught the blade just before the tip punctured the man’s neck. Quickly, Signal slammed Talia down onto the table (very satisfying by the way) and cuffed her.
Spoiler grabbed the knife that had been dropped on the table in the grapple for Talia.
“No sharp objects for you. Didn’t your dad ever teach you not to point these at people?” She teased.
Signal knew that he couldn’t keep Talia there forever, but Spoiler was quickly directing the scene to get the civilians' attention off of them. This gave him enough time to readjust his grip on the assassin and observe the target more closely.
The man had deep blue eyes and sharp facial features, Duke still couldn’t tell if he was Middle Eastern or White. He reminded Duke of Damian, so he could be mixed. However the most striking feature of this man was that he had no aura. Everyone has an aura, it’s normally just a small flicker of colour that emanated from a person. But this man has nothing, it was almost like Duke wasn’t allowed to see into this man’s soul. The same thing happened when they were in the alley as well, his Ghost Vision hadn’t let him see the potential victim, only Talia attacking. Even now when he tried to use his telescopic vision he couldn’t observe the man before him, he was too smooth, almost into the uncanny valley. Duke’s abilities kept sliding off of him like water off a duck. It was honestly kind of frustrating.
He was so distracted by his powers not working that he overreacted to the man leaning down to whisper in Talia’s ear. Signal held tighter onto Talia after the man stood up. Something about him made the hero tense up and his fear seemed justified as the man stared down Damian.
-
So Talia fucked Bruce Wayne…Why?
If there was one thing that Danny knew about his mother it was that she never would have a child willingly after he was born. And she clearly seemed to care about Damian, since she didn’t even want Danny to look at him. So Talia obviously had to care about Bruce Wayne to have his child but that brings up the question of why. There had to be something special about him for Talia to have a child with him.
Part of Danny wanted to ask her what about Bruce Wayne made her happy to have his child but his father made her consider filicide. But he knew he would never get the answer, just like Ra’s would never tell him who his father was. They were truly father and daughter in that aspect. So instead of cursing himself to a lifetime of what-ifs, he left.
“Thank you Signal and Spoiler, I would have been a goner if you guys hadn’t stepped in. Guess this will teach me about stranger danger.”
The vigilantes were trying to corner him and get him to give a witness statement or get medical attention for his hand but Danny wasn’t part ghost, and an ex-assassin, for nothing. He evaded them before they could get him in a bad position and gave them a salute on the way out. Danny had less than a week left in Gotham and then he was heading back home to Illinois. This would be the last time Danny would ever see an Al Ghul if he had anything to say about it.
-
Signal and Spoiler brought Talia to an abandoned warehouse owned by Wayne Enterprises and waited until everyone could converge in suit for a discussion. Talia had tried to escape three times in the hours they had to wait for everyone to get there. Duke’s abilities allowed him to predict what she was going to do but it did not help the stress of the situation. Especially since the assassin seemed determined to escape.
Her tenacity to presumably finish off her target had everyone on edge. Especially since the man in the cafe was nowhere to be found. Oracle hadn’t been able to get a visual on him as the footage from the cafe was too low quality and both Signal and Spoiler’s cameras weren’t able to clearly get his face. They had been forced to use a sketch made by Damian to try and find him. Not ideal but better than nothing.
Duke and Steph had been trying to get Talia to reveal who her target was with no luck. But the roar of the Batmobile let them relax, Bruce and Damian were always better at getting Talia to loosen up than the rest of the brood. Batman stepped out of the vehicle with Robin in tow.
“Signal, Spoiler, any updates?”
“Three escape attempts and no answers on who she was trying to kill.”
“Hmm.”
Batman looked at Talia and approached her.
“Talia, why are you in my city?”
Talia leaned forward and looked up to Batman through her lashes, a seduction technique she had used with him many times before.
She hummed, “Can’t I visit my beloved and child, or am I barred from even that?”
Batman growled.
“Don’t play games with me Talia, who was the man you tried to kill?”
Talia rolled her eyes and sat up straight, knowing she wasn’t going to get out of this. She’s never been so sloppy before and this was the price she was going to have to pay. However she needed to get out of here quickly, the longer she wasted time here the more time she gave to her target to plan.
“He’s an ex-league member. He escaped twenty years ago and now I must complete the task that should have been done when he left.”
“Twenty years ago, that doesn’t make sense,” Spoiler interrupted, “I saw him myself and that guy was barely into his twenties. You telling me a four-year-old waddled his way out of the League of Emos?”
Talia glared at the blonde girl.
“Danyal is in his thirties, though I do not know why he is so youthful. He might have found a Lazarus Pit for himself and harnessed its power. However it is not his physicality that concerns me, he demonstrated a phase shifting ability as I was following him, and the knife I stabbed him with had no blood on it when I pulled it out.”
Batman looked to Spoiler and Signal, Signal showed him the dagger that had been put in an evidence bag as proof. There wasn’t a drop of red on it.
“Beloved, I know you don’t kill but you must let me complete my task. Even if you must assist me in capturing him we have to take Danyal out before he is allowed to act. If not for me, then for our son, Damian cannot be tainted by that man.”
-
It was not the last time Danny saw an Al Ghul.
Danny didn’t want to know how, but for some reason, Damian Wayne had cornered him while he was on a walk through Gotham Park. Now, Danny was here because it was one of the few places in Gotham that shades didn’t bother him every ten seconds. There was something about an agreed neutrality zone that some spirit told him about in relation to the park. In the end it didn’t really matter, Danny just wanted to sort out his thoughts after seeing Talia and finding out he had a half brother. Frankly, he wasn’t super thrilled about discovering he had more family from his psychotic genetic creators. Maybe the kid was chill but not likely, the League was a stifling place that made a person freeze their heart instead of cope with their feelings. In the end, Danny just didn’t know if he could keep the bitterness of his mother away from the association of Damian.
Frankly the only reason Danny had recognized the boy was because Sam had called him about some article about a gala thrown to raise money against animal testing. She even made a joke about how the goth vegan rich kid tradition did not die with her when she left her teenage years. To which he joked that he wasn’t sure if the kid was goth or just angsty.
Danny had just stood up from the bench he was occupying with the intention of returning to his long term hotel when his brother dropped down before him in full Robin regalia.
Great, more information I didn’t want to learn today.
Once again the taste of death had spoiled the identity of Damian but Danny was going to elect to pretend that he had no clue who the teen before him was. Ignorance was a gift and he certainly wasn’t going to throw it away.
“Danyal, alias Daniel Fenton, here in Gotham to supposedly sell his security device company Spectral Protection to a well-known subsidiary of Lex Corp. A valiant cover, especially with the devotion to stay in Gotham for three months, however all your effort was for nothing when a League of Assassins member spotted you. Whatever your plans are, reveal them to me now and I shall not let you fall into their hands. We both know what they do to traitors.”
Robin’s voice was cold and confident, but his unease with the situation was apparent; his hand rested on the pommel of his katana, ready for any sudden moves. For a moment, Danny was tempted to play dumb, mainly because that actually was the reason he was in Gotham. However, it was clear that his mother had spoken to his brother and told him of who he was. Well, probably not everything; because a) Talia didn’t know anything about Danny and b) she was an Al Ghul through and through, if there was an opportunity to be cryptic and withhold information she would do it.
Danny sighed and resigned himself to the idea that his last week in Gotham was going to be way less peaceful than intended.
“Just call me Danny, I hate my full name being used, gives me the heebie jeebies.”
Robin narrowed his eyes, “You did not answer my question.”
Danny rolled his eyes and put his hands in his pockets.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m sure Talia gave you some bullshit reason about why you should kill me, or let her kill me. But do you think you could do me a favor and let me go home? I promise I’m not here to take over the world or something stupid like that. I’m just a guy trying to get a sweet paycheck so that I can achieve my lifelong goal of retiring by thirty-five.”
Robin did not move, if anything his glare got more intense.
“I’ll promise to never step back in Gotham again. I can even sign a contract. Lord knows I’ve been signing a lot of those lately.” He mumbled the last part.
Robin still did not move.
“Want me to throw Metropolis in there too? I know the big bat has some kind of homoerotic situationship with the Man of Steel, would that make him happy?”
Danny swore he heard giggling in the distance, but it was hard to tell if it was a ghost or a snooping vigilante. Both were likely options, in fact both might have happened since Danny could see some spirits very badly pretending not to listen in. Damian however, did not seem to find his semi-joke very funny. If anything the shaking seemed to be from anger if anything. His half-brother did not seem to develop a sense of humor in his time outside the League. Damian breathed deeply and released his hold on his katana.
“Do not try to distract me by making light of the situation. What are your plans?” His voice was cold and steely. Effectively cutting to the core of the problem with as few words as possible.
Danny sighed. “Exactly what I told you before, and highly unlikely but do you think you can keep the information you have on me away from Talia? I tried really hard to disappear from the League of Assassins and specifically her influence. It really sucks that a stroke of bad luck is what got us back in touch after all these years.”
Unfortunately that hope died pretty quickly because Talia’s presence was immediately detected by Danny. She had just arrived and was getting into position over by the trees to their left. Danny has spent years perfecting his ghost sense, no longer did he just have a vague awareness of when ghosts were in a general radius. Now he was able to tell their exact position once they were close enough and he was even able to get their intentions by probing into their energy. If only that trick worked on the living, it would make his life so much easier.
Danny shushed Robin, who was ranting about his foolish behaviour, and turned to where Talia was.
“Twice in one day? Really trying to make up for twenty-one years of missed birthdays aren’t you?” Robin, who looked infuriated at being silenced quickly turned to his mother who was taking aim from the tree line. “Do emancipated children qualify for child support checks, or does that only count for genetic donors?”
Three things happened at once. The assassin shot a blow dart out from her hiding spot, Batman dove down from wherever he was hiding to tackle her, and Danny dodged the projectile before making his way to his mother. Robin quickly chased after Danny, making a motion to tackle the man to the ground. He missed. Danny wasn’t sitting on his ass for all his years outside the advanced ninjas club, he knew how to dodge a tackle. Robin landed on the ground but quickly rolled and popped up next to Batman. Who had a slight death aura, but that was to be expected after nearly thirty year of vigilante work. Danny ignored both and squatted before Talia.
“Two failed assassination attempts in one day, getting rusty in your old age.” He teased.
The assassin glared at him.
“You were fortunate enough to find refuge in a city where those who protect do not kill. Had I found you elsewhere, we never would have had a conversation in the first place.”
Danny felt a rueful smile grace his face.
“It’s not like I chose the setting; if it were up to me, we never would have met.” Danny stood up and looked at Robin. “You would have continued with your life thinking I was dead, and I never would have learned you had another son.”
Batman and Robin stiffened at the information, both so identical. Almost like they were father and son. Batman took his eyes off the man in front of him and looked down at Talia.
“You did not inform me that Danyal was your child.”
Danny scoffed. “Of course she wouldn’t, she hated me from the day I was born. I’m not really her child, just the unfortunate thing she was forced to give birth to. But instead of throwing me away like any rational parent would do, she tries to kill me.”
Danny looked up to Batman, who was very stoic despite the information that was being thrown at him.
“Look, I know you have no reason to trust me, but I’ve spent my life trying to escape from the shadow of the League. Please, if you have any sympathy let me go back to my normal life far away from here.”
Well, as normal as a half-ghost’s life is, but he doesn’t need to know that.
-
Batman stared at him for a long time, thinking deeply. He was seriously considering letting the man before him leave. However he knew it would be fruitless to let him go now, Talia was aware of his presence and his team had given her that information. Batman knew they were being hasty with the knowledge they shared but when Talia said his son was a risk he believed her. Talia never played with Damian’s life, for all her failings as a mother she did love her son. Her hysteria and paranoia had fed his own, and now the consequences of that choice were staring him in the face.
Danyal, or rather Danny as he liked to be called, clearly operated as a civilian. His bangs sat too far down his face to be practical, the piercings in his ears were minimal but identifiable, and his clothes were professional but not fitted. Cheap and not name brand. The “cover story” was looking to be a reality and not a fabrication to get access to the city. It was tempting to believe that the young man before him had actually escaped the life of bloodshed.
Talia scoffed. “You can’t believe his story can you? He’s playing to your weakness, beloved. Your want for the violence of the world to be gone. The desire that a person could change from their upbringing. Danyal may be a blunt sword but he is a sword nonetheless.”
Danny glared at her but it didn’t cover up the raw hurt in his eyes. It would seem parents always knew how to hurt their children no matter how long they are apart. Batman turned to Robin to gauge his son’s reaction. Damian seemed conflicted, while he had long since become disillusioned with his mother there was still the hurt of finding out she had a child before him. That he was once again a shadow for someone else.
Bruce pressed harder on Talia.
Clearly she was worried that Danny would kill Damian. It was a fear Bruce shared as well. The prodigal son versus the one who was forgotten, a story of David and Goliath. Yet Batman wanted to believe in a world where someone who learned the trade of bloodshed, and decided to drop the knife. Someone who had seen the violence of the world and said they did not want to add to it. It was a naive thought, not suited to someone as old and jagged as him, so he looked towards his son.
“Why did you let Danyal go, mother?”
Talia stopped sneering and looked at her son, her gaze softer as she looked at Damian. It was impressive since her stoic features never betrayed her, yet something in her eyes softened looking at him. A flaw that both Bruce and her shared when it came to their son. Her brow arched at the question, the what do you mean was implicit.
Damian steeled himself and met her gaze.
“Never once in my life have I known you to leave a job unfinished. There is no world in which you would have let this man leave unless you wanted it to happen.”
“It’s because she didn’t know.”
Danny spoke up, Batman focused his attention back on the man before him. Danny seemed tense and ashamed, all the bravado he had earlier was quickly draining from his body. The broken boy was slowly being revealed.
“Her attention was drawn away from me. Some new recruit to the League that had impressed Ra’s. I was already quickly losing favor between the two, and when the new guy on the scene seemed like he was a potential successor to the Demon’s Head, I was to be discarded.”
Bruce felt his blood turn to ice. He was the reason that the man before him had to flee from the League of Assassins.
Danny smiled, but it was grim and weak.
“I had already been planning my escape for months, since Talia and Ra’s weren’t around to monitor me. The assassins pushed up my schedule, but I knew that those two were going to try something sooner rather than later. So I ran. They hunted me down and cornered me, left me bleeding out in the middle of a bazaar.” Danny shoved his hands in his coat pockets as a poor way to hide how they were shaking. “I guess they pitied me since they didn’t stay to confirm the kill and a passerby found me and brought me to the local doctor.”
Moments passed as his son took in the new information. Conflicting feelings passed through his eyes and Batman knew that this was one time where he could not help Robin. Damian looked to Talia.
“Would you have done the same to me, mother?”
Bruce felt his heart break. While he might not have approved of Talia’s teachings, he knew she cared about her son. That she was a ruthless instructor, but it was because she believed that was what Damian needed to survive. It didn’t excuse all the horrible acts she had committed towards her son – sons. But it gave context to the woman’s actions. With Damian it was never about hatred, but pride and fear. And now all of her choices were being brought back and presented in a new light, not for the first time Damian was doubting if all he had been put through had been worth it. Bruce longed to take his son away from here, where he could feel the love of one parent who would not give up on him. Unfortunately Batman could not present that weakness for all to see. He had to remain impassive to his son’s struggles else he risked getting distracted.
Talia squirmed below him, getting some leverage to force her torso upwards. She stared at Damian with all the love a murderer like her could muster.
She spoke softly. “No, habibi,” Danny flinched, turned away from his mother like the words burned him, “That never would happen to you, Damian, because you were so talented and because you are my son.”
“I was your son too!” Danny shouted.
Everyone flinched at the outburst. They turned to see the shaking form of Danny, his eyes glowing a familiar green. It seemed like air around him turned to ice as Batman tried to assess the threat before him. He still had a hold on Talia, but it was loosening. If Danny began to fall under the influence of the Pit then he would have to release her. Batman could not let Robin face a raged out ex-assassin alone.
But then the strangest thing happened, Danny calmed down. Like the strings being cut off a marionette puppet, all the tension left his body and Danny’s eyes returned to their ice blue. The man before him took a deep breath and then stepped back. He took one last look at his mother and half-brother before turning around. Danny barely even turned his head to deliver his last words.
“I’m done playing this game, I tried to do this peacefully but I’m only going to say this once. Talia, if you ever try to find me I will kill you in a way that not even your soul will reach the afterlife. Stay the fuck out of my life, enjoy the son you finally wanted and leave me alone. That goes for you two as well.”
And with that Danyal disappeared into the night. Fading far too quickly to be natural yet none of them could do a thing to stop it.

The Great Great Grandmother
Dpxdc Prompt #3
In the Wayne household it was well-known that Alfred Pennyworth's word was law. It was much less well-known the circumstances that their beloved butler had grown up it. Alfred was raised by his paternal grandmother, Danielle "Elle" Pennyworth, née Fenton.
While Danny's obsession with protection led him to stay in Amity Park until every tie he had to the place joined him in the Ghost Zone, Dani's obsession with freedom led her to do anything but stay in the same place.
She moved all over Earth, then to space, then to the realms, and finally to other dimensions. When Dani found herself stuck in a dimension very similar to her own, except a couple hundred years in the past, she knew Clockwork had something to do with it. She wanted to curse him out, her obsession was freedom and Dani did not do well caged.
It turned out to not matter too much because after a year or so trapped in the dimension Dani found herself going by the name Elle Pennyworth with a baby boy on the way.
Time flew by fast and her husband had died, content enough with his life that he didn't leave behind a ghost. Elle was heartbroken, but knew a peaceful death was what he wanted.
Her son had a son himself, Alfred was his name. Elle promised herself she would be the best grandmother she could be. That turned out to be a promise she had to fulfill sooner rather than later.
Her son and his wife had died only a couple of years after baby Alfred was born, disease apparently. It didn't take her long to notice that little Freddie had taken after her more ghostly half.
He was always appearing in places he wasn't supposed to and he was far more empathetic than most any human she had ever met. Elle taught him to control his more inhuman aspects and made sure that he would never forget etiquette.
"Being able to know how people are feeling is easy for those like us," she would tell him, "but knowing how to help those that aren't feeling well whether it be physical, mental, or emotional that's difficult."
"Why do we help them then?" Little Freddie would ask, before he knew the words she had spoken by heart and the answer to his own question was carved into his soul.
"Because difficult means there's something you're fighting for, and helping means that you care."
Alfred would repeat those same words to little Brucie when he was little and to all of his many many children. He would give a small smile as he said it, Granny Elle would love to know how much her great great grandchildren took after her brother.
He couldn't wait for Granny Elle and Great Uncle Danny to meet his many grandchildren. It would be a bit awkward to explain how they both still looked like they were in their teens though. Alfred only kept up the illusion of aging because he hadn't found a good time to tell his family he wasn't as human as they thought.

Danny: WHERE AM I!?
Tim: My room.
Danny: HOW DID I GET HERE!?
Tim: I will admit that I may have kidnapped you, but it was for a really good reason
Danny: YOU WHAT?! YOU'RE LIKE SEVEN!
Tim: I'm actually nine, but I am small for my age, so I'll let that slide. I took you because I want to make a deal. You need a place to hide until you're eighteen, and I need someone who can protect Robin until he's eighteen. We can help each other out. I provide lodging, meals, and education should you like it, by day and you become my hero's bodyguard by night
Danny: WHAT?!
Tim: Do you always yell when talking or that your normal voice?
Danny: I...look kid I just need time to process. I mean the last thing I remember I was eating a free burrito that somone....handed to me....*gasp* You tampered my free food!?
Tim: Yes. It was quite easy, actually. I normally wouldn't have done it, but I need someone to protect Robin. Last night, he got hurt in the field, and Batman yelled at him. I'm worried they'll break apart soon if it happens again. I will not survive the Dynamic Duo falling out.
Danny: I wont survive being thier protector either! Do you know what will happen to me once word gets around that Danny Fenton resurfaced to fight crime?
Tim: I suspect the parents you're running from will find you but not to fear. You'll be in disguise by night and by day. I can make you my Dad's illegitimate son with fake papertrail. Daniel Drake will have no connection to Danny Fenton or Poltergeist, the friendly ghost protector.
Danny: Oh, and your folks will be okay with that, I'm so sure. Every couple wants to find out the husband has an illegitimate son.
Tim: Yes, they are totally fine with it! I asked for permission from them last night. Mom is excited to dramatically welcome you into the house after she publicly confronts Dad about it. He wants to say he had you with a maid who he proposed to only to find out she had been stealing from the company and used him for his body and money. He said he always wanted to have a romantic scandal.
Danny: ......
Danny: You're an odd family
Tim: Thank you! So will you do it?
Danny: What the hell, why not. I'm tired of the streets anyway. People handed out drugged burritos there. It ain't safe.
Tim: *Squeal* Thank you, big brother! You're the bestest brother in the whole world.
Danny: Don't do that. It's creepy.

Few people know this, but Danny is a great cook.
He had to be. He was living with neglectful parents who sometimes forget about their children and forget to eat themselves. Sam and Tucker love his cooking as he cooks both meat and vegan dishes.
Amity Park has a yearly cooking competition and technically Danny's won it 4 years in a row.
The first year Jack and Danny entered the competition. Danny did the cooking and Jack added a "Fenton secret ingredient". That secret ingredient being ectoplasm. That day the food tasted the judges just as much as the judges tasted the food. The Fenton family was banned from the cooking competitions from that day forth.
The second year Danny entered the competition under a fake name. Unfortunately Dash had heard about him entering the competition and stole Danny's food for his own and winning the competition. Fortunately Sam stole the ribbon from Dash and gave it to Danny.
The third year Danny made sure that Dash couldn't steal his food but Cujo had also followed Danny into the competition and the bully had spread rumors about Danny putting dog in his food. And again Danny was disqualified. Sam bought him his own trophy because she knows he'd win, but it wasn't the same.
The fourth year Danny entered again, but this time so did the lunch lady and when the food was being judged people ran due to the lunch lady being a ghost the competition was canceled and no one won.
This year Danny was going to win. He had always used the recipes provided to him by his pen pal Alfred pennyworth and he was going to win fair and square and prove he was a good cook.

DC + DP
Danny Fenton died at fourteen. He came back. He didn’t die right. He became a hero. He became a hero because he loved amity park. Not the people. But Amity was his home.
Till it wasn’t. He was a monster to the people. Evil, ghost scum, disgusting. He hated it. Amity wasn’t safe for him. It wasn’t a home. Amity park was a graveyard. A place of everything he’d lost, perhaps it was time to move on.
So with tear stained cheeks he left. He left his humanity behind. He lived in the realms. He thrived. He learned. But he still haunted the place that could have been his home.
Danny Phantom was still hated, his name still spat on. But so was Danny Fenton. That hurt. It hurt to have his parents talk about him like a stranger. Like he was some cautionary tale.
They said the ghosts had gotten him. Had dragged him of, had killed him. They said it was his fault for not being careful. Yes he always believed the ghosts weren’t evil. Look what became of him.
Danny had loved them for years. Loved them when they shot at him. Loved them when they talked of ripping him appart. He was a ghost. They hated ghosts! Besides they didn’t know he was Phantom.
but now? Now He hated them. He’d bee. Their son. He’d been their child. “Danny Fenton, his curiosity his undoing.” That’s what they put in his gravestone.
not beloved son. Not kind friend. No, they put “his curiosity his undoing.” That hurt. But the words didn’t matter.
No it was the fact that when he’d first gotten a gravestone, come to watch the fake corpse be lowered into earth he’d expected them to be there. They weren’t. They were back in their lab. Like always.
Except it wasn’t a track meet. It wasn’t a soccer game. Or a parent teacher meeting. It was his burial. And they’d missed it, to chase ghosts.
He ignored that. Perhaps they’d forgetting. They forgot a lot of things. They remember eventually. They’d come by. Right? Surely they’d come by, if just to leave a flower. Just one? Surely.
So he waited.
And waited.
And they didn’t come.
So he moved on. He built a life outside of them. A life with him and Dani and Jazz. He ruled the realms, learnt from clockwork. He grew up.
Years passed, he learned how the realms worked. How the people were, he learned. The full extent of his powers. Back in Amity Park Daniel Fenton became a memory. Back in Amity Park Phantom’s name was still cursed.
until someone remembered him. Clark Kent had made a roadtrip of visiting his parents. They ended up stopping in Amity.
He heard about Phantom. Heard how they cursed him. He asked about it. They told him about a monster. An evil no good beast.
He didn’t believe them. Phantom sounded like a hero. A hero still learning. He also sounded like a child. So he asked around some more. He met Tucker Foley, visiting his parents for thanksgiving.
He told a diffrent story. He told about a hero. A young hero. He told him how he’d save people, how he’d get hurt. He talked about him with a reverence.
Clark asked what happened. Because heroes don’t just disappear. They don’t just abandon places. Especially not after fighting so hard. Tucker didn’t know what to say. So he lied.
He told him that everyone thinks he left for no reason. But my guess is he left because of Danny’s death. He talked about how Danny didn’t think they were evil. He talked about how the two made the same puns. How they looked the same.
He told him his guess was they knew each other In life. That they were related. He told him Phantom was always the same age. They could have been twins, he said with a laugh.
Clark leaves, he has thanks giving at his parents. And he studies. He learns. He sees the CPS reports. He reached out to Jazz, she tells them her parents were unstable, tell him their parents were unstable. She cuts of the call after saying “they got him killed at 14.”
Clark notices. Fourteen wasn’t when Danny died. He died at sixteen. Phantom is their sibiling. The eldest child, the one who died however many years ago. But Jazz remembered him.
They had moved to Amity Park when Jazz was seven. Phantom must have died. That’s why they moved. It had to have been. And phantom watched them, staying behind to protect his siblings. Protect them from his parents. Then things had gone wrong. He’d become a hero, and they called him a villain. When Jazz moved out he showed up less. When Danny died he vanished.
Clark feels lost. He wished it hadn’t ended that way for Phantom.
So he writes. He writes about a hero. He writes about Danny too. He writes. And Danny watches. Danny finds the newspaper on his grave. Left by Sam and Tucker. He smiles.
The flowers pile up on his grave.
One
Two
Three
Danny cries. He moved on long ago. But it’s nice to be mourned. Even if it’s by people who never knew him.
-
Bye :)
