Suguru smiles gently at his softly-spoken words - of course he knew he was Satoru's first true friend. He used to make fun of him for it all the time, actually, tease him about just how obvious it was that he had absolutely zero social skills and not the slightest clue about how the whole friendship thing worked. He was so annoying at first- he still is sometimes- and it drove Suguru to his wits end how he would sneer at him and get on his ass for being weaker. But eventually he realized Satoru's real intentions- he'd wanted his attention, but didn't know how else to go about getting it. His patience for him grew after he realized just how lonely he must be if this is he goes about interacting with people - and here they are now.
"Yeah, I know." He turns his head to gaze into his eyes again, eyes soft and longing as he listens to him speak. Learning about the clans when he'd first become a sorcerer had been so confusing, a real pain in the ass- especially with how Satoru was so insistent on how important he was and how Suguru should know him. But he could still remember that almost indiscernible glint in his eye when he started to understand that, not only did Suguru not know what family he came from, but he truly didn't care. He kept pushing him, insisting upon himself and seeing if he would buy into the Gojo clan hype, but he never did. Never viewed him as some kind of deity, but saw him as the irritating, brash, lonely teenager he is. Well, at least he's not lonely anymore. He can be proud of that.
"Mm," He gives a sympathetic hum when he reveals how he used to run away as a child just to, well, be a child, heart aching in his chest for him. It's not like Suguru had some perfect idyllic childhood, but at least he had one. Satoru never got the chance to be a kid, which was why he was always so quick to indulge when he wanted to goof off, laughed along whenever he was being silly- that's part of it, anyways. He almost gasps when he feels his fingers tracing his skin, but once their fingers lock together he squeezes his hand, turning on his side to face him better, keeping their hands held preciously between them. "Don't you ever think about what it would've been like if we had met earlier? If we just ran into each other while you were wandering around... I think I would've wanted to be your friend back then, too." He wonders how different things could've been- if they could've found solace from both of their loneliness in each other so early in their lives. It leaves him feeling bittersweet, but he has no regrets. "Well, even if it took us a while to meet, I'm still happy with the time we've had. We have the rest of our lives, after all."
It almost sounds romantic, if he allows his mind to wander like that. Til death do they part, right? He can't imagine his life without Satoru at this point, and with how clingy the other is it feels safe to say the feeling is mutual, even if Suguru feels... A little more than he should. But they have plenty of time. Even if it never expands beyond best friends, he should just be happy that he has so many more years with him to look forward to. He sighs to himself, eyes fluttering for a moment as he hesitates, teeth digging into his bottom lip as he wonders just how much he should share.
"You know... I never had a lot of friends, either, especially not as a kid. There weren't any sorcerers in my village, so everyone either thought I was cursed or just crazy. Rumors spread fast, so nobody really wanted to get close to me..." Eventually he'd learned to just keep his mouth shut about the strange and horrifying things he saw on a daily basis, but by that time the damage had already been done. Even in middle school, the whispers about 'the Geto boy' persisted, despite how hard he tried to fit in and become a model student... But that doesn't matter anymore. He could finally be himself and have someone who appreciated him for who he really was, and it feels like a weight off his chest. He squeezes his hand again, thumb running over his knuckles affectionately as he resists the urge to lift them to his lips and plant a kiss against his skin. "So I'd be pretty lonely without you, too. It really must be fate, huh?"
The thing is, is he would build a shrine for him if he could, if he knew that Suguru wouldn't look at him differently for doing so. He's seen many idols who he thinks deserve it less; Suguru is easily one of the best people he has ever met. Someone who actually makes a difference, who looks at people and sees what's hidden deeper down, doesn't just divulge in the persona that rests on the surface. He would've been someone different had Suguru not spoken to him, had they not been paired together. But Suguru had called him out on the person that he had been, challenges his views at any given point, and something about it…it feels natural. It feels like home, far more than his clan home has ever felt. So yes, he would happily build a shrine to him. He would happily dedicate so many things to him, had he just…stepped forward and been able to tell him all of it. But it's hard –– when it all hangs in the balance, when he tends to love someone so much but know that they're everything no matter what, how is he supposed to traverse it?
So no. For now he won't build that shrine, won't bat his eyes at Suguru in the way that he means for it to be, because they aren't ready for that conversation. He doesn't know if he will ever be. But it's fine. For now, he can look at Suguru like he hung the stars in the sky outside and be content.
Blue eyes soften; he rolls onto his side so that he can watch his profile, keeps himself silent for a moment as he speaks. Anyone else would've been interrupted and he would've been annoying about it, but Suguru's the one that always has his full attention. It's always been that way, even before they found friendship. It's like he instinctively just knew that Suguru would wind up being important to him. "You know you're my first actual friend, right?" His voice is soft, testing the waters between the two of them. It's not abnormal for them to have conversations like this –– Satoru regularly indulges him in all sorts of conversations, from silly to serious and everything in between. But this feels personal, like cracking open his chest and allowing Suguru to actively view inside.
"Everyone else…it was always because of the name. When I was a kid, everything was studying and honing my technique. I used to sneak out to try and feel normal." Which was horrendous, given the fact that he always had a damn bounty on his head. He had been desperate enough to not care –– he was a child. Eyes are careful though when he looks at Suguru –– if he had encountered him as a child, would things have been less lonely? Teeth bite into his bottom lip for a second before he reaches out, gives into the urges that keep rising up –– he drags his fingers along the backs of Suguru's, then slots his fingers in between. "Curse users, sorcerers, anything in between. I'm glad that fate put us together because I would be really lonely without you."

im doing one for shinon too bc he deserves it
shinon radiant dawn vc: my mom never hugged me
shinon path of radiance and radiant dawn vc: -treats greil like a respectable father and never mentions his own father literally ever-
shinon radiant dawn death quote: (smiling portrait) “Ugh... This is...such a crock... What a... boring way to die... Co... Commander... Greil... I... I... I'm...” (is he implying “I’m coming to see you again”, based on the quote and smiling portrait?)
#DCB Comments#shinon is one of those characters where the fandom focuses on one single negative trait#and they blow it up completely and pretend it's the only trait he ever has had and ever will have#meanwhile there's a gold mine of information you can figure out just by reading his lines and thinking about why he acts like that#like the whole want for money to live well when they're clearly not super well off mercenaries#or when he takes weapons from dead enemies and gets scolded for it but like can they even afford new weapons regularly?#the way he acts implies he grew up poor and has always been poor and STILL IS but he's there bc he cares about greil#and eventually came to care about everyone else and cares a lot about kids which they had rolf who rly respected shinon#he does what he can to help them raise money when they need it but fact is they always need it#in his quote versus oscar in chapter 18 oscar asks him if promotion is so important and he says it's everything#he clearly has no ill will toward oscar but for shinon getting promoted and getting money in that promotion will help him live well#he's tired of being fucking poor. he doesn't see an issue with wanting to live like you know a normal person should#but ofc everyone sees that he argued with janaff in two supports (which btw janaff egged on HARD and talked shit abt greil#and he also used racist rhetoric back at shinon so like... that whole argument was a two way street#but the fandom ignores that and just calls shinon racist even tho in their A support shinon specifically catches himself#from using a racist term and changes the term he uses so he's not being rude bc he learned he was wrong abt laguz through janaff#and janaff learned he was wrong about beorc through shinon. it was a very development heavy support chain for both of them#the fandom hates on shinon for ''being racist'' even tho he's one of the few non-main characters to actually get full development#and has a complete story from beginning to end between both games and comes out better for it)#i mean that's only a couple examples of things that aren't even hard to read into but ppl like to reduce him to one trait#and one trait that actually gets better and develops through both games. oh no a flawed character who has to have a development journey AAAA#guess what he's perfect specifically bc he's not a boring already perfect and flawless character#he has to get angry and get annoyed and learn from others despite being a grown adult. he has to have negative interactions to grow#he doesn't get to cling to the ADORED main character and get a gay paired ending and be loved for it#which no offense to soren that's not his fault that's the fandom's fault for treating them both the way they do for stupid reasons#i.e. would soren rly be so loved by the fandom if he wasn't tunnel visioned at ike#yes i will take forever to write this out slowly with my injured arm JUST TO GET THIS POINT ACROSS!#HE IS A FANTASTIC CHARACTER EVEN WITHIN THE TELLIUS CAST AND I WILL FIGHT FOR HIM11!!111!!!1!#also i wrote this earlier between those asks no im not that speedy lel. much less with a bandaged arm l e l

Since I’ve been encouraged to actually share my funny little blorbo ideas here’s another one gang;
Danny moves to Gotham on scholarship for engineering, because the Fentons may be infamous but they’re also insanely brilliant and besides both he and Jazz are showing every sign of embarrassed child of a super genius syndrome, so while the bats are keeping a close eye on him Just In Case, duke is also thinking of introducing him to the Our Parents Are Maniacs But Anyway club maybe after the first month or so.
Gotham does not go for standard dorm living bc of his ‘condition’ and lack of wanting to constantly spook/gaslight a roommate. Besides, living with two small children is a dorm sounds like a disaster in action.
So Danny signs up as a mechanic in Crime Alley, buys himself a teeny weensy lil apartment and Makes It Work. He has been all year after showing up with a de aged Dani and Dan in Amnity after all, and that had gone,,, fine? (The entire town, observing how Danny had been getting increasingly more uncomfortable around his godfather prior to the cloning incident, then just dropped off the face of the earth for several months, the first two weeks stuck in Vlad’s basement enduring horrors and the next Too Many desperately fapping around in the Ghost Zone to get everything handled. All the clones live, all 13 of them. Bunch of them are stuck in the Ghost Zone due to constant need for ectoplasm, but eh, plenty of Zone born never leave, so. One, in the future, apprentices under a green warrior lady on Pandora’s suggestion, another is working in the Eternal Library with Ghost Writer, etc etc. so Danny eventually came back to Amnity with one small child under each arm very obviously traumatized by Somethingn with vlad and doesn’t like being alone with him,,, or touched without warning,, and immediately and passionately proclaims the kids his but struggles to explain how or why,, look some very reasonable assumptions are drawn okay. So the town does the very reasonable thing and does the midwestern equivilant of excommunicating Vlad, except it’s a lot more run him out with pitchforks vibes since he’s the Mayor. Anyway)
He is immediately loved, because while non Gothamites are usually more of a pain than they’re worth, everyone in a while someone even from out of town will just fit in so nicely it’s uncanny for everyone involved. Addams family vibes, it’s referred to as ‘making it home’, just personal hc. He is protective of all the kids playing in the parks and street girls that can totally take care of themselves on their corners but find it HILARIOUS when he just tackles a dick like a wild animal full force no warning. He can fix anything it seems, but refuses to work with weapons. Reasonable enough, people get twitchy about gangs sometimes. Danny mentions being not against Hood or anything, but he’s not going to work for him, littles to take care of and all, but had past experience with ‘Dora and that inheritance mess with her brother he was being a real prick about’ so everyone assumes it’s the equivilant of him having Done His Time and being plenty good for a life time and respects it as long as none of that petty midwestern small town hotshots bring any of that shit over here. And they don’t, because said individuals are on the other side of the mortal veil, so happy day.
See I really love deaged!Dan because he’s just a grumpy lil guy. But he’s also killed millions. He’s so protective of his loved ones, but held back by blending in and also being Smol that it comes off more bitey kitten than anything else. Dani, of course, is a terror, so she fits right in with the crowd.
And sorry gang, but a bunch of kids on their own in Gotham in a poor side of the city just isn’t going to get any attention: that’s just business as usual really. What first gets attention on Danny is not his ‘condition’ or being mistaken for a meta (which he legally probs has an argument for even without the gene bc like these bitches don’t know how metaism works anyway so) or alien (I’m 90% sure he’d be covered by the alien protection act by virtue of being half ‘not from earth’), but because Danny despite best efforts is a Weird Guy.
He grew up in what could only be described as a low level villain level and spent most of high school dealing with smack downs and spiritual invasion. He’s never really processed that any of that is not in fact Normal. Also, he’s capable of making Anything if given the insides of a toaster, blender and alarm clock, and could probably rewrite the circuits of the apartment blindfolded and improve them 1000% even if it ABSOLUTELY would not be up to code.
And sure, things slip every once in a while, bits of spectral ice here, small floating incident there, but everyone just Minds Their Buisness ya know? You really gunna mess with the guy that personally ensured that when your car got flattened by a fight with Killer Croc, you were still able to get in to work the next day by some wizardry? Really?
But Gotham is a city so cursed it’s probably in the exponents countwise, so of course there is a) a flourishing community of magic users and assorted supernatural weirdos and b) a whole lot of shit for Mega Overpowered Ghost King Danny to idly pick at day to day in order to help with his protecting other Obsession. Gotham has plenty of heroes, but by god do they need the spiritual equivilant of an electrician/priest.
Still, Danny, as a baby ancient under a facet of Kronos and KING OF THE DEAD is like, way, way out of their scope to be able to grok, so it mostly just comes off as you know, a family of banshees or something. When asked, Danny very haltingly says he was briefly dead but then revived, which neatly explains his Weird Ass aura and makes it SPECTACULARLY AWKWARD to ask further about. So everyone nods politely, and goes back to their lives after double checking no nefarious bullshit was being pulled.
Then, of course, Vlad finally tracks them down. The whole neighborhood is altered in short order because he doesn’t bother trying to hide being a Rich Bitch or how he’s sneering down his nose at people on the sidewalk. Every connects the dots when Danny paniks. Dani and Dan’s daycare are staffed with some extra, very buff set of hands within the hour. Jerry, Hood’s third in command, personally shows up to the garage Danny is working at to talk things out with him bc he knows he does t like the deal with this stuff due to past unspecified circumstances but well, they guys had already started fucking with him, you see. Stole his tires, spray painted the windows, pickpocketed him blind, and when he retreated tipped off the police to the drugs they’d planted in the glove box.
Danny might not have been born in Gotham, but he was one of them. And the Alley takes care of it own.
#basically I want a fic where it’s not the Batfam but Gotham itself latching onto Danny#also more angy lil baby man Dan in big puffy coats being protective#dp x dc#dc x dp#gotham

Capture the Flag
pairing: clarisse la rue x child of apollo!reader
summary: you hate capture the flag, and clarisse hates people hurting you. that's that.
warnings: kidnapping? *done by a bunch of demigod teenagers for the simple outcome of winning a game* mentions of murder because what is a clarisse fic without it? swearing? kinda oc clarisse just because I can't write anything else without turning it into enemies to lovers
a/n: she is my love. clarisse defender for life.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Clarisse La Rue.
The name sparks fear in many people at Camp Half Blood. Kids cower when she’s near, or run away when she walks towards them. It makes her happy, having people fear her. She thrives off of it, being a daughter of Ares; the god of war.
But too you? The name brings warmth, comfort, and love. It’s very rare her wrath has ever been directed towards you, and the few times it has been was when she didn’t know you. When you were just another camper to her.
It only took a few days at camp for you to be claimed by your father, Apollo.
It made sense really, your bubbly and energetic personality was so similar to your fathers and his demi god childrens. You moved into cabin seven with your small backpack of beloved items from your past, picking the bed in the corner farthest away from the few other children of Apollo and spending most of your time in that spot if you weren't at arts and crafts or archery. Not many people cared about you at first, not that you mind while you were trying to process all that happened for you to finally get to this wilderness home. Then you tried to make some friends, which ended with you mostly spending your days with your siblings or the children of Hermes and the campers who lived in that cabin without being claimed.
Then, you met your girlfriend. The love of your life. You're everything. Clarisse.
She had protected you during a game of capture the flag, not realizing that your “attacker” was one of your best friends who simply held his sword up to you in a playful way. You teased her for weeks after that, giving her the title, “my protector”. Although the teasing eventually stopped, the nickname never did.
You’re her sunshine. That’s clear to everyone in camp, but nobody really talks about it for fear of being hurt by her spear.
Capture the flag is one of her favorite days out of the week. Other than every Tuesday when Chiron lets you eat dinner at her table- an agreement that came after a very long week of begging of course. That was his compromise to your ask of being able to spend every night at that table, and Clarisse wasn’t going to push it despite liking the first idea more.
It became a lot harder to win said game when she started dating you, team red losing one of their best fighters when she would leave her post by the flag to roam the forest and make sure you are okay. It just makes you laugh when she stops kissing you up against a tree to suddenly run back to her post when she remembers the main task at hand, but her siblings and team would definitely disagree that it's funny.
Today's no different, and after threatening her teammate with her spear, she leaves her post to find you with the peace of mind that they’ll protect the flag and won’t tell on her to the other players on team red.
You on the other hand, you have your headphones in, music blasting in them as you dance through the forest and around the trees. Capture the flag has never really been as important to you as your teammates on the blue team, and both Annabeth and Luke eventually learned to give you a simple task and let you do your own thing.
The nymph's join along in your activities every once in a while, but for the most part they just stay in their tree form as you dance past them.
You’re in your own world with your favorite song playing on your wired headphones that stay connected to the ipod in your hand that your girlfriend gifted to you after she came home from a quest a few months ago. It’s only when someone hits your helmet-covered head with the butt of their sword so hard you pass out that you realize you wandered into the red team's territory.
Waking up, the first thing you notice is the harsh light of the sun glaring down at you. Then it’s the rough feeling of wood on your back and the tight pull of rope on your stomach when you try and fail to stand up from your sitting poston. Your stomach churns as you realize what kind of situation you're in; no help, in a vulnerable position, and no weapon. Lastly, you groan when you realize that your headphones have been taken out of your ears and are laying in a tangled pile a few feet away along with your ipod.
After a few seconds, your vision clears up and the two blobs of color that you saw in front of you turn out to be two people. They’re clearing down at you from their standing positions, one with a sword out and the other holding a dagger.
“Good morning sunshine.” You cringe at the nickname that comes from one of the boys you now recognize from the Aphrodite cabin. It’s the one that your girlfriend uses for you.
Children of Aphrodite may be well known for her being the goddess of love, and all things pink and pretty, but sometimes people forget she is also a goddess of war. Her demigod children are sweet and nice, but it’s no big surprise why Clarisse likes having them on her team when you see their fighting abilities when they actually try.
“What do you want with me?” You question harshly, trying but eventually giving up on trying to force the ropes to untie by moving your body around. You’re tied to a thin tree, thin enough for your arms to reach behind you and wrap around it- it's kind of like your giving the tree a backwards hug with your hands tied together around it- but not thin enough to break when you push you back up against it to test the theory on if you can snap it.
They look at eachother and chuckle, putting their weapons away when they realize you can’t get out of your ties. One you recognize as Oliver steps closer to you as he says, “Annabeth and Luke care about you so much, the moment they realize that you’re missing, they’ll forget all about the flag and Clarisse can go get it.”
You stare at them blankly for a few seconds before you burst out laughing. They glance at each other before narrowing their eyes at you.
“What are you laughing at sunshine?” You finish laughing when the ropes pull on your stomach way too tightly with the way your body shakes with the laughter. “You ummm…” You start, taking a deep breath when you find yourself beginning to giggle again. “You thought the most amazing plan…was to lead my overprotective friends and girlfriend…the girl who carries a spear with her everywhere she goes and hurts anyone who looks at her wrong mind you…to the spot where she’ll find her partner tied up to a tree in a clearing where no one is around to stop her from killing you guys?”
They stare at you with a sudden look of fear in their eyes before they walk a few yards away to begin whispering to each other, the confidence from earlier gone and rethinking their plan after you brought the obvious ending to your attention.
“Hey guys?!” You shout out, smiling when they turn around for a second to face you. “Don’t worry. I’ll tell Clarisse not to kill you! She usually listens to me because the last time she killed someone, I didn’t cuddle her for a week!” Their eyes widen at your casualness, as if her killing someone is completely normal in your world before turning back around so you can’t see them panicking. It doesn’t matter though, the way they move their hands erratically and have to take deep breaths from raising their voices in fear is enough knowledge.
They come back a few minutes later, the fear still there as they stand in front of you. You don’t ask what plan they’ve come up with now, and they don’t tell you.
You guys sit in silence for a second before you glance at your earbuds and ask, “Do you guys like jazz tunes?” The boys stare at you with a confused expression.
“Um..…no. Why? Is that what you were listening to?”
“No. It’s just a conversation starter. The quiet was getting kinda awkward.”
The silence is back again, before you begin to quietly hum the tune of the song you were listening to before they interrupted your state of happiness. “So…..did you guys see my amazing dancing?”
Liam chuckles, eyes not meeting yours as he scans the forest around you guys and mumbles, “It wasn’t that good.” Oliver lets out a small hum of agreement.
You scoff, eyes falling to your legs as you whisper under your breath, “Well damn. I’m definitely letting my girl kill you now.”
Suddenly, a few yards away, there is a loud scream that could make someone's ear eardrums bleed. It isn’t one of fear or sadness, but of anger. The boy’s eyes widen and they begin to spin in circles to try and keep track of the attacker as they pull out their weapons. You just smile.
The sound of someone running is what finally snaps them out of their panic enough to try running away, but she’s already there using the end of her spear to hit one's back so hard he falls forward and pulls the other one of one backwards and throws him on the ground by his armor.
The first boy she pushes tries to get up and scurry away, but she simply places her foot on his back and presses so down with her boot with enough pressure he looks ready to cry. He really should be wearing armor.
“Clar! Clar, it’s fine! I’m fine!” You shout when the fear starts to set in that she might actually hurt them, and she doesn’t even seem like she’s listening as she twists her spear in a circle and looks towards the other boy with a grin on her face that you know all too well. She’s going to kill them.
You begin to try and pry your hands out of the rope so hard it begins to shred your skin like paper in hopes of stopping her from doing something she’ll get in so much trouble for, and it’s only when you let out a small whimper of pain does Clarisse stop her actions. The grin falls from her face, and her foot releases the boy as she hurries over to you.
Both boys get up off the dirt, stumbling over their own feet as they begin to run back into the forest to hide from Clarisse. “You touch them again and I’ll kill you in ways even my father couldn’t imagine!” She screams over her shoulder in a terrifying voice, and the way she then turns to you with a sweet smile would be weird to anyone else. It only comforts you.
“I’m so sorry sunshine. I’m so sorry I let them hurt you.” She whispers as she uses the sharpest part of her spear to cut the ropes off. You sigh in relief, bringing them to your lap so you can gently caress them. There are red marks surrounding them, some of which you can already tell are going to bruise and one with a small cut on it from the rope and bark on the tree rubbing on your skin.
Your girlfriend looks guilty, so when she begins to spill even more apologizes you shut her up with a gentle kiss. “It’s okay Clar. I’m okay. It’s my fault. I wasn’t paying attention.” She shakes her head no and you watch with a small smile as she uses the most gentle touch you’ve ever felt to pick up your wrists and assess the injury.
“Really. I’m fine. It’s just some rope burn.” She hums in understanding, bringing them up to her lips one by one to place a feather light kiss on the red spots. “Better?” The curly haired girl asks with a small smile.
“Much.” She nods, letting out one more apology before she picks you up bridal style and begins to walk back in the direction of camp. It’s only when you make it to the edge of the clearing and the cabins, mess hall, and big house come into view do you realize she’s not taking you back to your team's territory.
When you go to ask where she’s taking you, but she just shh’s you and takes the trail to the infirmary. In the distance, the conch shell sounds, signaling the end of the game. It’s followed by the familiar cheers of your team, making you feel bad.
“I’m really sorry Clar. I could have walked myself. I’m so sorry” She just shakes her head, walking into the small building that only has about three Apollo children in it, the kids who don’t like to play capture the flag and volunteer to stay in the infirmary in case someone needs medical help. You know them, sending them all bright smiles and they do the same.
She sets you down on a gurney, a quick glare to the boy standing awkwardly a few feet away with a clipboard is all he needs to run over and begin gently cradling your arms to wrap your wrist’s. His name is Jamie, and he’s the quietest out of all of your siblings. Even with his silence, you know he’s an absolute sweetheart after nights spent painting with him or enjoy a walk in the sun together.
“Just take off the bandages to ice them every once and a while, and you should feel fine in a few days.” He mumbles before scurrying off to do something else, but in reality you know he’s just trying to get away from the girl who now stands at the edge of your bed like a guard. My protector.
You stand up, slowly walking towards her and wrapping your arms around the back of her neck. “You know, your siblings are beginning to despise me for being the reason you guys are losing.”
She shrugs, a small smile making its way onto her face. “Let them. They ever talk shit, you come to me. I’ll deal with it. Until then, they can despise you in silence. I’m just happy you’re okay sunshine.”
“Thanks to you. My protector.” With that she chuckles, leaning down to kiss you as your arms tighten around her.
“But I’m definitely getting Chiron to change the Apollo cabin to our team.”

Little Curtis brothers headcanons
I just made a post about little Darry so know I feel like making a post about headcanons on all the Curtis brothers as kids. I say all but this will mainly be Darry and Sodapop.
Darry used to be really scared of the dark, so he would either have to spend the whole night with the lights on, sleep in the same bed as his parents or his brothers, or his mum or dad would have to stay with him with the lights on until he fell asleep.
Sodapop was scared of the dark for a little bit but not as much and only sometimes, but he quickly grew out of that. The only times he was scared was when he heard Darry crying a lot, because he felt that if his older brother was scared off something, then it was serious, and there really should be a reason to be afraid. Other than that, he actually finds being in the dark calming, and it helps him fall alseep faster.
Ponyboy was also only somtimes scared of the dark, mainly when Soda or Darry was, because by the time Pony was like five, Darry still hadn't fully grown out of it, it was like a phobia. It was a chain reaction of kids being scared that their parents had to put up with, and sometimes they would all just sleep in the lounge together as a little sleepover, or at least the brothers would all sleep in Darry's room together and they would be fine. As Pony grew older, the only time he would be scared was when one of the other gang members, mainly Two-Bit or Dally would tell him a scary story.
When getting told off, Sodapop would almost always start crying immediately, and it would be full on bawling his eyes out. There are many headcanons of Soda being a little crybaby and I one hundred percent agree with that, it is pretty much canon. The telling off would turn into comforting little kid Soda and reasuring him that what he did wasn't that bad, and it was an accident or not his fault.
Darry wouldn't cry that much when getting told off, unless it was very serious when he was younger. He wouldn't really do anything or say anything and people sometimes mistook that as Darry not caring about what was happening. In reality he really did and would feel really guilty. When told by his parents, "We're not mad, we're just dissapointed," that would usually be when he broke down because he hated it since he didn't want his parents to be dissapointed in him.
Ponyboy didn't get told off that often because Darry would usally take the fall for him.
The name Darry came from when Soda was first learning to talk, Dary would sometimes play with him and try to teach him some words, including his name. Baby Soda couldn't say Darrel so he would say Darry instead and Darry loved it since he took it as Soda trying, and eventually everyone started calling him it.
Soda and Darry did the same thing with Ponyboy when he was learning to talk, playing with him and trying to teach him new words. When Ponyboy said Soda for the first time Sodapop was so happy he cried which caused Ponyboy to cry because he thought something was wrong.
When Ponyboy first started school he would be bullied for his name so eventually when he first met people and no one else that knew him was around he would lie and say that his name was Darry because he liked his brothers name a lot better and was sometimes jealous of it. When his family found out about this they had a long talk and Darry and Soda spent ages talking to Pony about how they loved his name, and the next day at school Darry defended Pony to be the kids at school.
Darry got into a fistfight at school once and got suspended for a week but he didn't care because he was protecting his brothers form more bullies
When Mrs Curtis was baking something all three of the brothers would lurk around the kitchen trying to steal some scraps when she wasn't looking. She was always looking and would hit them with a wooden spoon across their hands when they tried to steal some cholocate chips and cookie dough. One time she hit Soda too hard and made him cry so she had to give him some so he would stop, and then had to give some to Pony and Darry so it was fair
When Ponyboy started school he was really shy so Sodapop sat with him at lunch and introduced him to some people. Darry had showed him around the school and told him which people to stay away from because they were idiots
Whenever the family was going on a walk and they passed someone with a dog either Mr or Mrs Curtis would have to ask the owner if they could pet the dog and they would stay there for about five minutes so the kids could pet the dog. Sodapop would always be sulky when they had to move on.
They all love animal and would go insane whenever they see one. Especially Sodapop.
When Mr Curtis was doing some chores outside like mowing the lawn of when he was fixing the car Darry would always be following along and would always ask to try. He was always happy when he mowed the lawn and his dad said he did a good job when he let Darry help with the car
Darry was also always the one to sit in their dads lap and drive the car up the drive way
Darry used to sit in bed with Soda and Pony and read books to them, and a lot of the time at least one, or sometimes all of them, would fall alseep. There's a couple photos of them all sleeping in the bed with the book falling out of Darry's hand and it was taped to the fridge for a long time.
When Pony started learning to read he would try and read to his brothers instead.
Based on something my family used to do: Sometimes they would put music on the radio and all the three brothers woud dance to the music in the lounge and put on little shows for their parents.
Another thing my sister and I used to do: Sodapop and Ponyboy used to love eating frozen peas so sometimes their dad would sometimes pour them a small bowl of frozen peas and they would sit on the same chair together and eat peas.
When Mickey Mouse got sold Ponyboy drew a picture of him to try and help Soda. Soda was so touched that he started crying again and Pony panicked because he though he had made Soda sad but then he hugged him
Whenever Darry made Pony cry as a way to get him to shut up he would pick him up and throw him slightly up in the air, or give him piggy backs around the lounge and that would calm him down.
Ponyboy started over exargerating him crying so he would get free piggy backs
All the three of them have leaned back on the chair too far
Surprinsingly all three of them used to be picky eaters and it would be nearly impossible for their parents to cook a meal that they all liked that wasn't take aways or junk food. This is the phase they grew out of the most
Sodapop and Pony used to annoy the hell out of Darry by calling him Darry Queen whenever they went to Dairy Queen
Darry and Soda used to annoy the hell out of Pony by calling him horseman
During summer they would all annoy the hell out of their parents by begging them to set up the pool, buy them ice cream, or go down to the watering hole.
During the summer they would also have heaps of water fights and their dad would either turn the sprinkler on or just spray them straight with the hose
Second hand Darry clothes
I might do a part 2 if I can think of more but for now this is it.

Diaboys Household and Kids Hcs
Shu:
Family + Background:
Marriage isn't the biggest thing to him but it will come around eventually.
He seems like he'd take things slow but because he's real into you, he speeds into things.
So it might be faster than you'd expect.
I don't think anyone has ever seen him get this way so everyone would become very aware of this change in behavior.
He if he comes to the point of being "in love" then he'd decided to move away from his brothers and family because he doesn't want them involved.
He finds it best to have them be seperate.
However, with the influence of woman that he loves he may be inclined to take responsibility and take care of Vampire Kingdom.
So he may infact have you move into the demon world which puts himself at a distance with his brothers.
But more than likely, given that he is rather selfish its more practical that he'd leave such a tolling responsibility on someone like his brother Reiji to take care of.
Shu would take the job of being a politician like his father did in the human world as an image in order to blend in society.
its quite easy is all is handed down to you.
He'd be quiet lousy tho and make his familiars do everything.
Never tells his kids anything about his family.
Number of kids:
Two kids, one boy, one girl. And believe me, it is enough for him.
Probably only a year or two apart.
I think the kids really made him get his act together and not be an apathetic teen.
I mean already to care for someone truly he isn't going to be his lazy self because has something to look forward to which is something he's been stripped from for the longest time.
I think children would change him if the woman he has them with is someone he cares for.
Household:
There isn't much to say.
When he met you and had kids, he became more active, moved out, and started a life with you.
He moved to somewhere relaxing away from everything, and you two have a girl and boy, so you have a perfect family.
Sometimes you have to nudge him to not be freaking lazy.
He is a lazy father, but surprisingly he does things, but only cause he cares.
Loves talking to his kids about their interests and how they have a lot of opportunity and time to be free of responsibility.
He's mostly carefree and leaves the work of disciplining them to you.
"I'm too tired, you can be Reiji."
"Shu!"
Reiji:
Family + Background:
Would be the first to move away from his brothers.
For a while, you stayed with him, but after a while, you both thought about living away from his family, given everything.
He'd mainly leave if they posed as a threat, which realistically, they do.
And given he wants the best for his lady, he'd move away in a heartbeat. which
In fact, in one of the games, he moved out and picked a house for him and Yui to live in because he wanted to "start a life with her."
And you could imagine he obviously proposed first because he's very old fashioned.
It was one night you both had come home from a ball and removed your jewelry in front of your mirror.
He came up behind you planting kisses on your shoulder and up your neck, all the once while you were distracted he slipped a ring on your finger and spoke in a low voice, "Marry me, Y/n."
"Reiji?"
"Say that you'll be my bride." He'd whisper, kissing you on the lips.
I will hint at the fact that there were times where he did tease you about getting married.
"I don't understand what you're asking me."
"Woman, I am asking you to be my bride, is it not obvious?"
"Are you being serious?"
"Silly girl, do you think I'd ask you like this? I needed you to stop crying this was the only way . . . full discourse, I would have asked much differently, my dear." He grinned, amused by your reaction.
"You shouldn't mess with me like that!" You scoffed.
"Oh no? You're quite charming when confused."
Number of kids:
You two had a wonderful little girl, and boy, the boy came first. And Reiji wouldn't be opposed to another child. Preferably another daughter.
Which is probably along the way or in his plans, knowing him.
After three I would say he is quite complete.
Reiji sometimes hints at a another child being a possibility for the two of you.
"There's always been room for another, my dear."
"Are you saying we should have another?"
"Perhaps." He'd smirk.
Household:
The most sophisticated and elegant family.
Anyone would deem you all as greatly intelligent and stunning.
Seriously, this is a family filled with good looks, so you are both well known for your children's success and strong resemblance to you both.
With Reiji, you both decided to have a place of your own and start a family, which is exactly what happened.
You two moved far away from his brothers and bought an elegant home.
Reiji planned out what street he'd want to live on, the house in particular, and if it had a special aspect of the interior which you once brought up. He'd make sure the house would have that view or courtyard you had mentioned, or that wide window you loved looking out of.
But that is something you love about him; he plans for things he cares for.
He is great at helping you with the kids, and you leave educating, and cooking to him because you know how he feels about it.
Although you try to help, he will argue with you sometimes, mostly about harmless things.
But when it comes to disciplining your kids, it can be a war of disagreement, especially because he lets his daughter get away with things, and he is harder on his son.
So this requires you to intervene all the time.
Though it is cute to see older Reiji and little Reiji argue.
But it's even cuter to see them work together.
Laito:
Family + Background:
Didn't give making a family so much of a thought. It was not on his agenda.
So he didn't think about moving out or anything.
The only thing that changed him about it was you both having a child unexpectedly.
At first, it seemed surreal, but the more he saw his stomach grow in the process, he started to think about it and soon realized it wasn't a dream.
It was very real, and he needed to be ready.
He was involved; he just didn't know what all of it was going to be/look like.
So it took some time, but he was interested and was happy to be a father because he actually loved this woman.
Although even if he had kids with a bride, he would enthusiastic about it because I think he is fascinated by it, but he later loses interest as well.
But because he is attached to his partner, it is much different. He is quite moved and is eager to see the child.
If he is worried about his father or someone else being a threat, he'll move away.
But knowing Laito, he will probably just stay with his family since there technically is enough room. But he does leave that decision up to you.
Number of kids:
He'd have two twin girls and then another little girl. So three little girls.
I don't think he really wanted a boy because he's had enough boys in the family.
Plus, I think it may have to do with trauma reasons that he doesn't want to have a son.
I also think he'd have a stronger attachment to a daughter then he would a son.
I'm so betting that the girls all have ginger hair, or that each one looks like him or one of his full blood-related brothers because genes work in mysterious ways, you know.
Plus, I think that would be interesting to see
Household:
A fun family with a chaotic bunch of three girlies.
It can be a handful since they are very close in age.
But you two make the most of it.
In terms of living in the human or demon world, he'd probably live in the human world just cause his father is usually in the demon world.
Kanato:
Family + Background:
This wasn't easy, and it was definitely unexpected.
Although, with someone he loves, he'd put everything aside and be soft with you.
This is actually something he really likes.
It would definitely move away as soon as the child was born.
He'd take no chances and have you live with his family.
After all no one paid much attention to him in the first place why should he stay?
He'd leave in heartbeat and travel around with you to find the perfect home for just the two of you, which would soon be the three of you.
He mostly made the plans because he liked surprising you.
Number of kids:
You'd have just one. He couldn't imagine putting you through that again.
As much he loved seeing you go through your pregnancy, he didn't want you to go through all the pain that comes with labor.
It would be a baby girl, for sure. Seeing him be gentle with a daughter would be so adorable.
especially because he'd sew her dresses.
Household:
A quiet and small family, but its all the two of you could ask for.
It means a lot to both of you to watch your daughter grow.
He wants the best for both of the women he loves in his life.
Is quite protective of you both and makes sure his family is not included in one single conversation.
Ayato:
Family + Background:
He hasn't figured out anything.
And he was a nervous wreck at first
Now he just kinda chills around.
Never really knows what the next plan is.
It would take his brothers to get him to think about it.
He'd also need your input on this to figure it all out.
eventually he'd come to the idea where you both would stay at the mansion. That is until too many kids came into the second picture.
Number of kids:
About three to four (mostly boys), with the second kid, his brothers told him he needed to get it together and move out lol.
so he did, because the fam was just getting too big he needed his own place with you and after some searching and planning you got it to work and moved out.
Although he does visit his bros still.
Household:
It's chaotic, especially if he is taking care of the kids.
He has a lot to learn, but he is fun.
He gets them into sports and is a kid himself.
You constantly call to make sure nothing crazy happens.
Subaru:
Family + Background:
You both would find your own place and definitely wouldn't stay with his brothers.
He'd want to be away from his family.
It's mostly cause he doesn't really like them.
And he wants it to be far from them.
And honestly just isolated from people.
Number of kids:
You had your own place by this point so it wasn't a big deal.
He'd probably really only want one at the most. (a girl)
He doesn't want a big family, I mean he can hardly see himself being a good father to one, let alone many.
Household:
It's quiet and small, but it's a good thing.
You both are able to raise your kid calmly if you have one.
you rely on each other, and that's about it.
Kino:
Family + Background:
Similar to Ayato, he would definitely not be sure of what he wants to do. He probably just does whatever you want to do since he doesn't really care.
Is more of a go-with-the-flow type, and kinda handles stuff last minute.
You are probably doing most of the thinking.
He didn't even think about family or getting his own place with you; he's just not focused on it.
Number of kids:
one because he counts as another kid.
It is boy for sure because he needed a buddy to keep himself busy and not to always bug you, lol.
He is so chaotic and teaches his son so many pranks and its just messed up.
Household:
Its a mess, you constantly have to worry about both of them.
Its a like a second kid and you just get so annoyed at Kino sometimes.
But he does keep the kid busy and learns a lot.
He gets better with more experience but he's also just all over the place.
One thing he got his kid into is gaming for sure.
Carla:
Family + Background:
He told you to stay in the castle with him and his brother since it is big and there is plenty of room.
He does think about if you will have kids, after he's married you.
Carla asked you to stay with him and build a life with him.
"I want to be the reason I stay, Y/n. Be with me."
this man
He has many plans, some to which he shares, others of which he is still unsure of.
It was quite peaceful for a while, though.
Number of kids:
Once you had kids, probably one boy or two girls.
Though he wants an heir, he definitely would love to have a daughter.
He'd have so much planned for his kids, and he was happy to have them with you.
It's probably the happiest he's ever been.
Household:
You are still at the mansion since there is plenty of room.
A lovely and quiet family but also classy.
Your children have both of your looks.
The boy would be like Carla's twin.
The girls would have some key features of his.
Spoils his kids for sure.
He is also proud of his family and you as his wife.
And he protects his family from anything.
Shin:
Family + Background:
He didn't plan too much in the beginning.
After marrying, he planned much more about the family he wanted and how he wanted to spend his life with you.
It's something he has thought of for a long time.
Number of kids:
You thought you were going to have two boys and that was it but you ended up with four instead.
It’s entirely his fault he said you wouldn’t get pregnant anymore.
But those wolf genes you know they seem to be prominent
If you were upset about being pregnant he’d find it a little cute. “This is ridiculous I don’t want another child. You said I wouldn’t be able to have another child.”
“What’s the matter, love. I thought you liked having children?” He’d ask amused.
“I love them—Omg you did this on purpose! Last month—“
He’d smirk, “in forest, yes.”
“I cannot believe you. You lied.”
“I didn’t lie to you, love. I said having more children might be rare because most in my family don’t have more than two.”
“I thought we agreed on not having more.”
“What can I say, I was curious to know.”
“Shin!”
“Oh c’mon, love, you where enjoying yourself, why should I have stopped.”
“Shut up!”
Household:
A full house, granted there are six of you so it is exhausting to keep up.
And Shin's son's are a total handful.
He does keep them busy and intertained.
You tell him not use powers until they are old enough though.
It takes a while for Shin to get used to it but he is fond of his kids.
I mean he's always wanted to procreate so I guess you could say his wish came true.
He loves that he has built a family with you and like his brother is going to protect it.

What about a G2S story about greasers? There's so few of those.
Imagine: A very lonely gay guy meets a rockabilly, greaser gang. They take him under their wing, which gay guy appreciates because of his loneliness. But slowly they start changing him, making him just like them.
In the end the lonely gay guy becomes a James Dean, Danny Zuco-wannabe with the gang becoming his new found family.
A lot of people think that Alphas and Betas are a relatively new thing. It makes sense to assume so in a way. Alphas as we know them are pretty new, but that’s only because Alpha culture has changed over time, just like ours. There were Alphas in the old west, in the ancient world, and even going back to the beginning of civilization as we know it. Recently I discovered an old book where someone had written down a number of stories about Alphas from the past. I guess I’m not the first person to document their behavior. One story in particular stuck with me though, so I’ve transcribed it here. Hope you enjoy.
Caleb Sparrow was a complete and utter nerd. An unhip clyde with a reputation for being a bit of a spaz. The kind of goof all the cool cats completely ignored. He was only really good at one thing: not standing out. A part of him hated that he was the way he was, that he was a loser with no friends. But a part of him was grateful. For a secretly queer man living in 1955, he was actually pretty lucky. No one bullied him (mainly because no one noticed him), his secret desires hadn’t been found out, and he had a good future ahead of him. He knew that eventually he’d land a steady job, find a swell gal who he could get along with well enough to marry, and live the traditional life his parents had always wanted of him. A part of him was grateful. But a part of him still hated it all. Hated how lonely he was, how he’d never find someone he’d really love, how his entire life was always going to be a lie. But he was resigned to it. Until… he met an Alpha named Biff.
Biff was everything Caleb wasn’t. He was the hippest greaser in town, with a handsome face, manly muscles, a souped up rag top and a gang of fellow greasers to hang with. Biff had it all. Sure all the squares all said he was bad news, but he didn’t care. He had it made in the shade. He had a different betty with him every night. That’s what made it so weird to everyone when Biff suddenly started being so friendly with Caleb. Caleb didn’t know what to make of it at first, and was pretty sure he was going to end up getting beat, but Biff was… well he was dreamy, so Caleb let himself believe that he really wanted to be his friend. He had no idea that Biff was just looking for a new Beta. Turning Caleb into the perfect Beta took less time than you’d expect. Caleb integrated into the gang with surprising ease, all of the other members treating him like they had been friends for life, and as he began to grow closer to the group and Biff, he began to change.
At first it was a slight change in style and lingo, trying to keep up with his new crew. Then he shot up several inches and began to pack on muscle, which the 19 year old brushed off as an overdue growth spurt. But over time the style changes became more and more drastic and his body grew at an even faster rate. Soon he wasn’t just the new kid, he was the second in command, right after Biff. That’s why everyone started calling him Deuce. Just like everyone else in the gang Deuce was muscular, cool, loved cars and was obsessed with Biff. Deuce eventually even came out to Biff and confessed his love, but Biff didn’t wanna deal with all the issues that came with having a queer beta, so he ‘suggested’ that Deuce was actually a pussy hound like him. Considering how many gals Deuce has played backseat bingo with I think Biff might have overdone it, but just like always he got what he wanted. Another manly, muscular, straight greaser for his gang.
**hey there guys! Never done anything with Greasers before, so it’s probably not as good as my usual stuff, but I had fun with it. Hope you all enjoy. Might revisit the idea of Alphas throughout history sometime**

Hello, hope you having a nice day!
Can I request a childhood to lover for Mitsuru, Yukari, Fuuka, and Akihiko
Childhood Friends to Lovers
Fandom: Persona 3
Character(s): Akihiko Sanada, Fuuka Yamagishi, Mitsuru Kirijo, Yukari Takeba
Type of Request: Headcanons
Note(s): Here you go! Massive spoilers to the game !!
Akihiko
You got to see all the tears that Akihiko shed as a kid. He really was a crybaby when he's cry over you and Shinjiro teasing him or when you would go out of your way to buy something for Miki that Akihiko couldn't.
You also saw the tears after the fire and when Miki passed. You both shed so many tears until Akihiko was the first to stop and promise that he'd get stronger. He didn't mean to grow distant, he just wanted to become stronger to protect those he cared about, to protect Shinjiro and to protect you.
You joined SEES with him and he was glad to have you and Shinjiro still by his side. But then the other incident happened and Shinjiro left and Akihiko felt more alone. He made you promise that you wouldn't leave him - something that he cringes about since and gets flustered when thinking of. But you instantly promised him to stay and it made his heart beat faster than he thought possible.
It isn't until he's trying to get Shinjiro to join back up that he realizes what he feels for you. He always thought it was just love as a really good friend. But Shinjiro teases and taunts him about not asking you out yet and that causes Akihiko to pause and really think about his words. And then he lost Shinjiro and now he can't lose you. All of his feelings come out like a dam being broken and he can't stop it, nor does he want to. Hearing that you love him back feels like he's finally let down the heaviest weight he's carried.
Fuuka
Fuuka has hid out at your house many times, promising her parents that you both would study. Which you do a little bit of just so she doesn't have to be a liar. But it's mostly her having fun and hanging out with you instead of being stressed about the pressure from her parents.
You were one of the only people that she talked to and was open with. Fuuka was so shy with everyone else, but you always made her feel comfortable and happy. And you were by her side when the bullying started. She tried not to bring it up, she didn't want to worry you. But then she vanished.
When Fuuka came back, she did her best to explain what she could to you. It was difficult - how does she even start to explain shadows and Tartarus? But she does her best as she doesn't want to lie and hide from you anymore.
And that includes her feelings. While she tried not to think about it, not wanting to confess when she wasn't proud with herself, she eventually does. It's scary and she doesn't want to lose you, but she knows she can't hide it any longer. You reciprocating her feelings causes her to sigh in relief and when she can make chocolates without accidentally poisoning someone, she'll gladly make you some.
Mitsuru
Growing up together was definitely interesting. You two became friends because you were both taken to the same festival together and learned you lived relatively close. As kids, you both didn't quite realize how different your lives were, you were just kids.
As you grew older is when the differences made themselves more clear. A lot more was expected of Mitsuru. She had to learn to be more prim and proper, not that she minded. But you continued to be so different from her and she liked it. She enjoyed the differences you both had.
Going to the same high school together had given you two another reason to hang out since Mitsuru was constantly busy now. She tried not to drift away from you, she didn't want to lose you. But with SEES, with the Kirijo Group, and with Tartarus, a lot more was stacking on to her plate and it was tougher to find time for you. But she still did her best.
It wasn't until her father was murdered and she shut down that feelings came out. You helped snap her out of it. You were the one that said your feelings first. And while Mitsuru still had so much going on, she appreciated that. She promised you that once everything was fixed, you would learn everything and then you both could go on an official date. Just please, wait a little longer for her.
Yukari
Your house was her safe space after she lost her father and her mother started leaving her behind. There's been so many tears that she's shed in front of you and so many times you've both fallen asleep cuddling because she needed that affection.
It was no wonder that she'd end up being a bit clingy to you growing up. At some point, she does try to distance herself because she doesn't want your relationship to turn sour or unhealthy because she's too dependent on you.
When she was spending time away from you, she realized how much she misses you. At first she thought it was just because you two are really good friends. But then she realized that it was more than that. Yukari definitely had some conflicted feelings after that realization.
Held her feelings back for the longest time because she was afraid of losing your friendship. It isn't until she does find her confidence and place within SEES that she decides to go for it. At hearing your feelings returned, it makes her laugh just because her worries seem so silly now that she knows you love her back.

Your tag is keeping on playing in my head. Like - just how much of Tales had Jack spent thinking of his revenge and taking over it all. And how much he actually enjoyed spending time. Could he really look through Rhys' memories or was it just some folders Rhys kept on his Echo Eye. Was he just thinking about how to use him or did he catch himself being actually proud of him and happy to be stuck in this guys head specifically. Grrrrr hologram Jack tell us more
I personally think Jack had some type of attachment to Rhys, even if it wasn’t his intentions like… at all. Sure, getting back on Helios and taking over Rhys body was always the main goal, and whether he came to like Rhys or not wasn’t gonna stop him from going through with his plan, but Jack was almost predisposed to eventually become obsessed with him. Strap in, I’m about to ramble
First of all, I imagine that Rhys reminded him a lot of Angel. Rhys was young, he looked up to Jack almost naively so, but he was snarky and also defied him sometimes which Angel did too. I made a real long post about this a couple months ago but basically, Rhys and Angel share a lot of similarities in how Jack treated them. Jack probably did feel proud over Rhys at times, and thankful that it was Rhys and not some other Hyperion employee with the personality of a napkin. It feels more personal than just “let’s manipulate this kid and take his body”, even if that ultimately was the end goal. And after Jack was plugged into Helios and found out about what happened to not just Angel but Nisha as well? Not to mention Wilhelm being dead and Timothy leaving for the casino? Rhys was the only one Jack somewhat trusted who wasn’t already dead or long gone
But also, imagine this: you’re quite literally inside someone else’s brain. Everything you see and hear, everywhere you go, everyone you interact with, is through this dweeb with the most questionable fashion sense on Pandora (which says a LOT). No one can see you except for him. You’re dependent on him in every sense of the word. If he pisses you off, you can’t do your usual routine of beating or killing him. You HAVE to get close to (or at the very least, used to) him, something your paranoid ass hasn't allowed yourself to do for years
And honestly, Rhys’ software has bled into Jack as much, if not more, as the Jack AI has bled into Rhys. This is just my personal headcanon but I definitely think some part of Jack felt a little hollow when he left Rhys’ head on Helios, almost like having a tooth ripped out (or… being the tooth that got ripped out). Some part of him expected Rhys to be as dependent on Jack as Jack was on him, which is why he thought Rhys would just mindlessly agree to essentially be his meat puppet. But then he not only rejected him, he tried to leave too. The only one Jack had left, who became such a huge part of his holographic life, physically and emotionally. The only one who hadn’t died, left or abandoned him up until this point, wanted to leave
Jack was back on Helios, back on his throne, and he had everything in his power to regain control of Hyperion. Despite how horrified Rhys was over Jack’s plan, he didn’t have any intentions to kill Jack, and had Rhys been any less important to Jack, he could have let him go or commanded someone else go after him while he focused on getting another employee to give him their body. The only problem was that Jack was attached to Rhys and took this as a betrayal, just like Angel and Moxxi had been close to him until they betrayed him too. So what if Helios paid the price for Jack’s revenge? So what if Jack was going to die killing Rhys? It was too personal to not risk everything for
This is a very complicated way of saying I definitely think Jack cared about Rhys, whether that be because he was emotionally attached or because he was literally inside this guy’s brain and couldn’t help but get attached. Everywhere he looked, there was Rhys and only Rhys. So yeah, he DEFINITELY thought about Rhys a lot. Probably more so than Katagawa did. It’s a special kind of horrific <3
#borderlands#handsome jack#rhys strongfork#rhack#txt#shinakazami1#this is going in the tag cause i need everyone to see how insane i am#kinda unrelated but it grinds my gears when people boil down their relationship to 'jack is just using rhys'#ITS TRUE. but theres more to it than that if you just think deeper about it#like use your imagination!! fill in the gaps!!#thats what makes rhack specifically soooo fun to think about#at least for me#and this whole ramble is also another thing i love abt rhys missing and possibly hallucinating jack sometimes even as of new tales#theyre intertwined for life whether they wanted to be or not#and rhys is the one who came out alive so hes the one who has the deal with this hole in his head where jack was supposed to be#its like the roles have switched#... again

Metkayina Headcanons (pt 3 kinda)
This is from the same idea as the last part (where the Metkayina thing Spider's a lot younger than he actually is, because surely the humans grow more than that, right? Not that they have a lot of experience up-close).
I think when Spider finally finds out they think he’s a child, it would be accidentally. Like, what if Jake (after a while of getting caught up in his grief and worries about the RDA) comes to Tonowari and thanks him for taking care of Spider, but explains that the humans will come to take him back in a few days, when they come for a supply run. Spider over hears this and assumes he really has just be a glorified prisoner or something and he’s about to get sent back to High Camp and all of the humans twenty-plus years older than him. Sure, he misses Norm and Max and the forest itself, but days stuck in the lab were draining, boring. Still, he resigns himself to his fate, not wanting to be a burden on the Metkayina for any longer. (None of the adults know that he heard them and he left before he could hear his not-parents response).
He ends up leaving the village (he’d spent the day with Tsireya weaving by the water and had been about to go join Ronal in making dinner in their marui when he overheard everything). Night falls and Spider is in the woods beyond the village. He climbs a tree and settles in to sleep there, deciding it would be better for him to just leave on his own, rather than get forced to leave.
When he wakes up, people are shouting his name. I think Lo’ak would be the one to find him, actually, because he grew up with Spider and knows how skilled the other boy is when it comes to climbing and that he usually hides up high when he’s scared. Tsireya is with him, while the others are diving and looking around for him. Lo’ak eventually spots him up a tree and just climbs up after him.
“Dude, what happened?” Lo’ak asked breathlessly. “We’ve been looking for you half the night! It’s not like back home, you can’t just pull your disappearing act anymore.”
“Well, you’ve seen me. I’m fine.” He grumbled, pulling away when the other boy reached for him.
“Are you?”
“Just leave me alone, Lo’ak.”
“Are you kidding me? I just walked, like, miles to find you.”
“Cool. Now, leave. I’m not going back.”
His friend (were they still friends?) frowned at him. “Spider. Now is not the time to sulk. Everyone’s been worried— “
“Yeah, worried I wouldn’t be back in time for them to send me back.”
Turns out they (shockingly) weren’t about to send Spider away. There ends up being a big conversation and it’s explained to Spider that no, they aren’t sending him away. If he had came to them the night before or just asked, they could have told him that they had no intentions of ever getting rid of him.
They also mention that he’s too young to be wandering around by himself anyways, which makes Spider very confused.
“I’m as old as Aounung, though?”
Everyone’s very confused. Eventually, it gets explained (with some help from a very worried Jake) that Spider was sixteen, not ten or whatever. And that, back in the forest, he was allowed to hunt and fish and forage from a young age.
“Yeah, I’ve been wandering the forest alone since I was, like, six.” He added with a shrug. “It’s not a big deal.”
“You— what?” Jake blinked at the teen, eyebrow raised. “You were definitely not allowed to go in the woods by yourself before you turned nine.”
“How do you think I got to the village all the time? The scientists were boring, so I left.”
All the adults have something to say about that, but it’s been a long night/day and at the end of the day, Ronal and Tonowari are just glad Spider’s okay. Even if he is a few years older than they thought he was. I think they’d probably still treat him like he was young, but in the way they still treat their other children. Like, a ‘you’re never too old for your mom to braid your hair for you’ kind of thing. And Spider, who was treated more like a stray pet than anything else as a kid, soaks it up. Sure, sometimes it’s annoying when they keep an extra close eye on him or when one of his siblings tracks him down and insists he take a break, because too much sun isn’t good for anyone, but humans especially. But, he has people to go home to and talk to and that kind of makes up for it. It makes the overprotectiveness and Tsireya’s insistence that she’s the older sibling worth it.
IDK if I'd ever end up actually writing this as a fic, because I suck at writing stuff with real hurt/comfort or fix-it-fics, but if someone wants to write this or knows a fic that's kind of like this, please lmk.

Eternity has never been kind to lovers
Word count: 5000 Enjoy my pretties >:3
~~
Albus had once been asked if there was anyone he left at home when he went off to be a hero. He'd laughed off the question, saying he wasn't a hero and he had no home so who would be waiting for him?
In truth, his home was a place that hadn't existed for him in many years. As an immortal demon, time had stopped really having a meaning to him. So the years had all started to bleed together, his trips back to the little house in the woods becoming less and less frequent. He'd failed to notice the silver starting to thread through Devlin's hair, the lines creasing around Faith's eyes and mouth, or the little girl becoming not so little anymore.
It wasn't like he meant to, it was just how things ended up. He gained more credibility and prestige as a bounty hunter and got more lucrative jobs that took him farther away for longer. He visited home less and less until he eventually stopped going altogether. And now he couldn't even remember the last time he'd seen his little family. Hell, if he really thought about it, he could barely even remember what they looked like. Was Faith's hair black or brown? Which arm did Devlin have the enhancements on? All the details had slowly blurred together in his memories and he hadn't even noticed.
Well, until those memories came waltzing back into his life. And by the gods, more time had passed than he thought.
~
"Albus, someone has a job for you." The bartender he'd come to vaguely know popped his head into the private room he'd come to occupy. Albus lifted his head from where it'd been resting against the wall to fix the bartender with a look in his slightly drunken stupor. What was his name again? Ah, who cares, he wouldn't remember it anyway. "And? They can post it with the bounty hunters like everyone else." "That's the thing, she asked for you specifically." "Is that so? Who is it?" "She didn't give me her name. Said she was your daughter."
That knocked the alcohol right out of him. Daughter? Him? No, that was impossible. He made sure of that. Well, when he was sober he made sure. Which, frankly, wasn't a lot. Fuck.
What the hell was he supposed to do? The kid had spent gods know how long looking for him and now what? Hell, he couldn't even say which woman gave birth to the girl. Or if he wanted to know.
Gods above, is this what Dad was like?
He violently shook the thought away. No. No no no. He would not become his father. Abso-fucking-lutely not. "Alright, let's see her." The bartender shrugged and left, his voice fading as he called for the girl. Albus sat up properly, unwilling to admit his heart was beating worryingly fast. Doc would probably say he was having a heart attack.
Huh, Doc. Wonder what happened to him. Mafia, probably.
When the door opened again, a woman stepped in. Like, a fully grown woman. She looked in her 50s. And definitely not young enough to be his kid. At least, not as of recently. But she somehow looked...familiar. Were those his features he saw in her or was that his imagination? His brows furrowed, could he even remember anyone that far back?
The woman smiled, showing off the gap in her teeth. A very familiar gap in her teeth. "Hi Mr. Albus. Seems you haven't changed a bit."
That voice...
"Kerano." He breathed as recognition slammed through him. "Fucking hell kid, how did you find me?" Kerano just laughed, settling into the chair across from him and letting him get a good look at her. He could see bits of that little girl he left behind; the freckles, the wide smile, the eyes shining with mischief. But he could also see the years that had disappeared; lines starting to crease around her mouth, silver threading between the normal brown, the sag to her posture as years of growing up weighed down on her. "Man, I haven't been called "kid" in decades. Though I suppose everyone is a kid to someone who lives forever." She shrugged. Albus scrubbed his hand over his face. "You didn't answer my question. How did you find me? And why?" "Okay, the how is the fun part. The why is the not so fun part. Which do you wanna hear first?" She giggled and for a second, he was back in New Tennessee watching Faith chase her around the ship. But then he blinked and the second passed, his heart sinking with it. "Well it's me so I guess the fun part." "Good, I was hoping you'd say that."
Kerano sat back in her chair, a smug smile creeping across her face. "So, I needed to come find you for reasons I will explain later. But you haven't been back home in over 30 years, no one knows where you are, and any of the ones who could are old or dead. So I was on my own and had to follow the trail of breadcrumbs. Starting in Maya. And honestly, I expected this to be a lot harder than it was but all it took was a couple pointed questions to the receptionist at the Hunters Guild and I was on my way. The hardest part was actually finding you once I got here."
"And you wanna tell me why the bartender said you were going around telling people you were my kid?" Kerano's smile widened at that, holding back a laugh. "What? It was the fastest way to get people to listen to me. You're a very mysterious person, Mr. York. People will take any advantage they can to get to know something about you." "Even if it's a complete fucking lie?" "Like you've ever had a problem with lying to get what you want." "...Fair enough. Shit, you really could be my kid. But now tell me why." She chuckled, her smile slowly fading. "That's the hard part. Um..." She chewed the inside of her cheek, squirming in her chair a little. "Big sister, she's...she's really sick. I mean, she hasn't been the same since she got the dementia diagnosis but now it's gotten really bad. She's-" Kerano's voice wavered, forcing herself to swallow the lump in her throat. "She's dying, Albus. The doctor says she won't make it to spring."
The words hit like a ton of bricks. Faith? Dying? No, that wasn't possible. Not his bright, spirited, fire-blooded Faith. No no no, she was far too alive to die. Not her. Anyone but her.
"Dementia? What-what is that? Can it be fixed?" Kerano snorted softly. "Right, forgot, you wouldn't know what it is. Dementia is a brain disease. It slowly attacks your brain functions until you can't do anything yourself. Eventually, it reaches the brain's ability to regulate heartbeat and breathing and that's what kills. There is no cure for it. The most notable symptom of dementia is memory loss. Of which she is dealing with in spades." Kerano traced the grain of the wood in the table, refusing to make eye contact. "It started a few years ago, she started forgetting prayers she'd known since she was little. I didn't think too much of it, I mean for gods sake she was almost 70 of course she's going to start forgetting things. But then it started getting worse. Forgetting appointments, directions to places she'd been a hundred times, stories she'd told me dozens of times. And now it's...it's really bad. Her moments of clarity are getting further and further apart. Hell, she barely remembers me half the time. And it's really hard, especially after we lost Devlin 'cause now I'm the only one who can take care of her and she gets pretty feisty when she has one of her episodes and it's just-" Kerano dropped her head into her hands, sniffling softly.
Albus was left completely frozen, watching as Kerano choked back sobs and tried to pull herself together. So much had changed after he'd left and he hadn't even realized. Faith was sick, she was losing her memory, Kerano had to take care of her after...
After...
Holy shit.
Devlin is gone?
When did that happen? How had he fallen so out of touch with the family he loved that he wasn't even told when the brother he'd come to love so deeply had died? He couldn't process this correctly. It felt like his brain was shutting down. How long had Faith been alone? How long had it just been her and Kerano in that house? How long had she needed him and he wasn't there because he'd forgotten her?
How long had he forgotten about her?
Albus was pulled out of his thoughts by Kerano's head snapping up, watching as she swiped at the lingering tears staining her face before clearing her throat. "Anyway, not what I came here for! I came for a job, not to make you my therapist." She laughed wetly. Albus just blinked at her, remembering that this little reunion wasn't just to rip his heart out. "It's not a job in your typical sense. I'm not asking you to hunt someone down. It's actually more of a request. Faith doesn't spend a lot of time in reality and when she isn't, she's in the memories she still has. And most of them are with you and Devlin on that ship back in New Tennessee. And she...she asks for you. And every time I say you're not there, she gets so sad and worried. She'll ask where you are and if you're okay and...I can't keep doing it. I can't keep breaking her heart. So my job for you, come home. Come home and see her before she dies with a broken heart."
Not his typical job indeed. His reason for fighting was dying and all she wanted was him to come back. But could he? Kerano said it'd been over 30 years, he'd missed his own brother's death, how could he possibly go back? How could he ever deserve to stand by Faith's side again after all the years he'd left her behind? The silent guilt that he'd shoved down for years began to crawl up his throat once again, threatening to cut off his air and choke him with his own misery.
"Kerano I...I can't. I've been gone for so long, I couldn't possibly go back." I don't deserve it. I don't deserve her. I never did. I never will.
Kerano frowned at Albus, folding her arms like the stubborn child he remembered her to be. "So you'd rather stay here? You'd rather stay here and continue to be a stranger to everyone rather than return to the woman who actually knows you?" "She doesn't know me, no one does." "Cut the self-deprecating bullshit Albus. Even if she doesn't know all of your broken blackened emo heart, she knows part of you. She knows the part of you that died to protect her and her mission. She knows the part of you that was human. And that's more than most people here know."
He hated how she was right. He hated how she reminded him of that weak, pathetic voice in the back of his head that mourned his humanity. It'd been there for so long that he'd learned to let it blend in with the rest of his thoughts. So long as he never acknowledged it, it would never be loud enough to remind him of everything he'd lost.
He hated how much she reminded him of Faith. He could see so much of her in Kerano, in particular her annoyingly persistent stubborn streak and her uncanny ability to cut right to the center of all the emotions he told himself he didn't feel. He hated the desperate part of him that wished she was her, wished it was her sharp eyes and pouting lips that were scolding him like she used to. He hated how much he missed her. He didn't deserve to miss her, not after he'd been the one to leave in the first place. Besides, that soft spot was going to get him killed one of these days. Maybe he really shouldn't go back, maybe it would let that lingering weakness in him finally die.
Maybe then he'd finally be free.
His blood ran cold at the thought. How could he possibly think that? This was different, this was Faith. This was his Faith. She was his oath and like hell he was going to forsake his honor for some perceived weakness
Kerano's hard stare bore into him, her disapproving frown looking sorely familiar. "Albus, she needs you right now. We need you right now. And if you ever actually loved-"
"Don't you dare fucking finish that sentence."
Her eyes widened, shrinking back against the sudden demonic energy pouring off of him. Albus tried to reign his temper back in, willing himself to have his voice not come out in a growl.
"I loved that woman more than anything. I still love her with everything I am. Don't you ever even imply doubt in that again. You don't understand everything I've done to protect her. To protect you. And it would take an eternity to try and explain it."
He sat back in his chair, fixing her with a glare of his own. How dare she try and accuse Albus of never actually loving her. How dare she try and say that the only woman who had ever truly meant anything to him was just another notch in his bedpost. That was his Faithful. His beautiful, caring, frustratingly loyal when he was the last person who deserved it Faithful. "I'll go. I'll see her. But I can't be the man she remembers from back then." Kerano sighed, her anger deflating. "I don't need you to be. I just need you. That's good enough for me."
Kerano stood from her chair, offering him a weak smile. "I'll tell her to expect you. She'll be ecstatic. You know where to find us, we've never left." He gave a stiff nod and she left, seeming to take all of his energy with her. He dropped his head onto the table with a dull thud, groaning softly. That was exhausting. Are reunions supposed to be that tiring? I suppose I wouldn't know, not like I've got a chance to have many of them.
He forced himself back upright and called for the bartender. He was going to need so much more alcohol.
~ Albus couldn't tell if he was seeing double from the relentless hangover he was dealing with (he really shouldn't have had that last round before he came here, everything was spinning) or if because he was really back here. Back at this place he'd called home for so long. Back with these people he'd called family for so long. His stomach twisted and this time he knew it wasn't from the alcohol.
Could he really do this? Just waltz back into this home like there weren't decades worth of dust on his place in it and just insert himself back into the quiet lives of the people who had grown to fill his spot? No one had seen him yet, he could still just turn around and act like nothing happened, like he'd never even been there. No one would notice, he could act like that whole conversation with Kerano had never happened and forget it all. He could let Faith go peacefully without ever bringing his chaos and bloodshed back into the fragile peace she'd built without him.
But then she'd die without him ever getting to say goodbye. She'd die scared and alone, thinking that the only person she could still remember had left her behind. She would die thinking he didn't love her enough to stay. And he just couldn't have that. Kerano couldn't let Faith die with a broken heart and now Albus couldn't either. He couldn't bear the thought of it.
"You gonna continue to just stand there and stare or are you actually gonna come in?"
The teasing voice snapped Albus out of his contemplation, forcing him to look up at Kerano. She was stood on the porch, mild amusement written on her face. "How long have you been standing there?" "Long enough to watch you have an entire crisis before inevitably deciding I was right because of course you did cause I know I'm right." "...y'know if I didn't know any better I really would suspect that you're my daughter." "I'll take that as a compliment. Now come on, she's inside."
Albus walked through the front door and almost thought he was in the wrong place. Gone was the life and liveliness that he was used to. There were no sounds of talking or laughing or smells of something cooking. There was nothing but silence and the staunch smell of disinfectant. "What happened to this place?" His voice came out an involuntary whisper. Kerano snorted softly as she closed the door behind them. "Death and disease. Big sister was crushed after we lost Devlin and she was getting older so she couldn't keep up with the housework like she used to. So things got simplified. Really simplified. I know she hates it, she always has, but there's nothing we can do about it. When she has her moments of clarity she complains about how plain the house looks. I mean, coming from the woman who was always covered in ten pounds of jewelry whenever she had the chance, I suppose you wouldn't consider that to mean a lot but even I get it." She ran her hand over the wall, rubbing the dust between her fingers. "This house is nothing but a shell of itself, of everything it used to be, especially to the people who lived in it." She glanced at Albus during that last sentence but moved on before he could say anything.
"Come on, she should be in her room." He followed along silently, taking in the last remaining bits of life along the way. There were still some pictures on the wall, mostly of Kerano as she was growing up but there were a few of Faith and Devlin as they got older. It was strange, seeing the people that in his memory were so young and vibrant and had their whole lives ahead of them as so old and lived. They'd been through so much together and he'd missed it. What kind of stories would they tell if they had the chance? If he had found the time, would he have listened? He'd taken advantage of his eternity so much he'd forgotten that not everyone got to live it.
Kerano came to a halt in front of a door, knocking softly. "Big sister? Someone's come to see you." There was no answer and Kerano sighed. "She always does this." She muttered with a shake of her head before turning to Albus. "Go on, she doesn't want me. She wants you." She stepped back and gestured for him to open the door.
This was it. The point of no return. He could open the door and shatter the reality he so fondly remembered and replace it with the stark reality that he was about to lose the woman who held his heart in her trusting hands for half a century, who would take that heart with her when she left or he could turn around and run and never have to face his failures, never face the fact that he had left her when he promised he would always protect her but that would mean living with the fact that he willingly left her.
Dammit. How do you always end up making me do the things I don't want to Faith? Do you take joy in forcing me to make life-altering decisions?
He opened the door before he could talk himself in circles again, bracing himself for whatever was beyond it. He wasn't sure he braced hard enough.
Sitting in an old rocking chair staring out the window was Faith. Or at least, what was left of her. She was still dressed in her sister paladin best but her strictness was starting to slip, pieces of silver hair untucked from beneath her headscarf to frame her face, looser fabrics taking over the usual tighter ones that had given her more shape. She hadn't seemed to notice the door opening, probably assuming it was Kerano.
"Faithful?" He attempted softly. Her head snapped to look at him, eyes wide in surprise. "Albus?" Her voice was weaker, scratchy and weathered from age. "You're really back?" She reached out for him, hesitating like he might just be an illusion or a trick her mind was playing on her. He kneeled next to her, taking her hand in his and bringing it up to hold his face. "I'm back, faithful. I'm back."
Her eyes sparkled with tears, sniffling softly as she brought her other hand to hold his face properly. He could feel the bones of her fingers through her thinned skin, see the deep lines in her face and the silver that threatened to completely take over the brown in her hair. He could feel his heart thump painfully in his chest, she was so...different. She was older, yes, but she was different. His Faith was bright and fierce, taking life by the horns because no one else would. This Faith, one so subdued and broken down by time and circumstance was so foreign to him. "Oh Faith...what happened to you?" He whispered, cupping one of her hands with his own.
She laughed quietly, smiling in that way she always used to when she thought he was being ridiculous. "Oh Albus, my Albus..." She even said his name the same way, with that quiet fondness that she used to be so embarrassed to admit was there. She was so different but at the same time, exactly the same. Her eyes held that same fire that they used to, determined to take the world by storm and correct everything she saw wrong with it no matter what it took. But her body could no longer keep up with her soul's desire to do right by the gods she had so treasured. "Where have you been all these years?" She asked, her thumb stroking over where his beard melted into the rest of his face. He sighed, leaning into her touch and laying a light kiss to her palm. "Don't you worry about that. I'm here now and that's what's important. I'm here for you." "Why? Why come back? I...I thought you were gone. I thought I lost both of you." Her voice tapered off into a whisper, unable to meet his eyes.
It nearly knocked the wind out of him. It was one thing for him to recognize that he'd been gone for too long, it was entirely another to know that Faith knew it too. That she thought she was alone. He never should've let it get this bad. "I know, I'm so sorry faithful. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for you. I was just...I was scared. Scared that you wouldn't want me back after so long. Scared that you had moved on from me." She clicked her tongue, frowning at him like she was about to reprimand him like she used to. Honestly, he wished she would. "I could never move on from you. You've carried my heart with you every time you've walked out that door and that last time was no different. I just wish you'd told me beforehand how long it would be until I got it back, I would've prepared better." She giggled before pinching his cheek with a surprising strength, her nose scrunching. "Never do that to me again, you hear? Had me here mourning you while you were still out there alive and well and having no reason to give me such anxiety."
Albus burst into laughter, trying to pull away from the iron grip she had on his skin. "Ow, ow, ow okay I get it I already said I'm sorry! Gods above you've gotten stronger since I left." "It's a grandmotherly perk. Once you get above 70, your pinching strength increases tenfold to discipline rowdy grandchildren. Though you wouldn't know anything about that, would you mister immortal?" "Shit, yes I understand can you let go of my face before you rip a piece of it off?" "Hm, you better." She huffed as she let go of him, leaving him to rub the now sore spot. "Y'know, you've had Kerano worried sick about how you weren't like you used to be but you seem just fine to me." "Hey, don't you bring me into this. This is for you to atone for your crimes of leaving us with no one but each other for 15 years." Kerano snorted, leaning against the doorframe with a smug smile as she watched the interaction. Faith turned to Kerano with a sad smile, leaning back in her rocking chair. "Oh give the girl a break Albus, she's dealt with a lot with me being...out of sorts." "Oh is that the word we're using? Big sister, you know I love you, you tried to throw me out the window." "I thought you were an illusion!" "Doesn't make it any less terrifying! You ever almost get literally shoved out a window by an old woman with a strength you didn't even realize she had?" The two glared at each other for a few moments before both burst into giggles.
Albus rolled his eyes at the display. "I will give no such breaks, the girl went around saying she was my daughter in order to find me." "You did what?" Faith suddenly whipped her head to look between Albus and Kerano. "You're not being serious, are you? Tell me he's not being serious!" "...sorry big sister." "Kerano! What in the hell would possess you to do such a thing?" "You couldn't see it sister! You were so...hollow. You kept asking for him and well...with your prognosis, I couldn't just sit back and do nothing! So I went and found him! It was just a little harder than I thought it was going to be so I found a way! And hey, it worked, didn't it? He's here and you're lucid and everything's the way it used to be. Can you blame me for simply wanting to fulfill a dying woman's wish?" "I thought I told you to stop talking like that." Faith huffed, turning her pointed glare to Kerano. "But you are-" "And I know that Kerano. But I don't need to be reminded of it. I'm still alive and I intend on remaining that way for as long as possible. So do not call me dying until I lay on my deathbed, you understand me?" "Yep, that's Faith." Albus muttered with a soft smile, earning a sarcastic stare from her.
Faith just sighed, running her hand through Albus's hair with a slight smile. "Won't you stay? At least for a little while? I...I don't want to risk forgetting about you." "Of course faithful. I'm not going anywhere, not until you tell me to go." Not until I see that fire leave you. Not until my faithful is really gone. Not until I actually have to say goodbye to you.
Faith stared into his eyes and he could see every moment between them, their entire history laid out in the color of her eyes. He feared the day he'd see blank spots in that history. That day when she'd forget he loved her with his entire being. That he'd fought against armies and demons to return to her side. That he'd given up his life for her once and he'd do it again in a heartbeat if she simply asked. He leaned up and kissed her softly, like she would break if he pressed any harder. She pushed back like she was trying to send a message. He hoped she could read his own.
I'll love you for eternity Faith.
I've loved you for my eternity Albus.
He stepped back, running his thumb over her cheek one final time before heading towards the door. "I'll check in on you tomorrow, don't go anywhere." "Not like I could if I wanted to." She laughed as Albus closed the door behind him, leaving just him and Kerano in the hallway again. She looked on the verge of tears and he was about to ask what was wrong when she threw herself into his arms, squeezing him tight. "Thank you. Thank you for bringing her back." She whispered into his chest. He slowly hugged her back, letting her cry out her relief into his shirt. "Thank you for letting me bring her back." He responded, petting her hair.
She pulled back after a couple minutes, wiping her eyes. "I'll go get a room ready for you, sounds like you'll be here for a while." She headed down the hall into a separate room, leaving Albus with his thoughts once again. He wished that would stop happening, his thoughts were getting quite headache-inducing recently.
He still couldn't entirely believe that he was here, that he'd seen Faith again and had gotten the chance to love her again. To love her like she deserved until her mind finally left her.
I've got so much lost time to make up for. There's so much I've missed, so much I have to learn about you, Faithful. But maybe I can start to work for your forgiveness. I just hope I'm not too late to earn it.
I'll stay by your side until the end, I promise. I'll be your warrior again if that's what you need me to be.
I'm yours Faith. Always yours.
Until the next sunrise

Phoebe and the BunchEms
Have you heard of BunchEms? These little plastic balls covered in hooks like Velcro that you stick together to make shapes and stuff?
The first I heard of them was when I came across posts about getting BunchEms out of little kids' hair...
That is horrifying.
Now, I am someone that is Good at detangling and retexturing synthetic doll hair. I saw an American Girl Julie on shopgoodwill.com with BunchEms in her hair and got curious.
Are they really THAT hard to get out of hair, or were the people doing it just not that great at detangling?
I'll spare you the suspense and say that yes, they really are that horrible. I think it would be more humane to just cut the child's hair and let it grow out again rather than make them sit through an attempt at removing The Devil's Dingleberries.
I didn't win the auction for Julie but was talking to my doll friends and said that if I ever happened to find BunchEms and a doll I didn't care about at Goodwill at the same time, I'd grab them so I could experience this hell for myself.
Enter Phoebe.
This is a Battat Our Generation (Target's version of American Girl) Phoebe. You can't really see her before-hair well, but it wasn't in too bad of condition. It was matted in a couple spots, very dirty, and had grass stuck in it.
I do wish I'd cleaned and detangled her before I did this. The dirtiness had everyone in the house sneezing.
But wow was that exciting. I enjoyed being the destroyer instead of the fixer for once. That was fun.
Removing them again was not. That was the opposite of fun.
It took me about a month because I had to stop for a medical emergency and was only able to work on her again last week. Since I'm going through a series of surgeries I've had a lot of non-productive time. I just finished her hair up today.
The BunchEms were very difficult to remove. It took a lot of careful, slow, agonizing combing and brushing, picking and pulling, some ripping and tearing, to get the hair free from each little ball's many, multidirectional teeth.
What's worse is that as I would work on the balls nearer the ends of her hair, the ones closer to her face got tighter and tighter into her hairline.
They were pushing against her skin at this point.
I'd get some hair free, put it to the side, and discover it had reattached to different BunchEms on that side.
It was tedious. If Phoebe were a real girl, she'd be in agony from all of the pulling and combing and how tightly the BunchEms were pulling up into her hair.
I did eventually get them all out again. She lost a ton of hair. Battat OG dolls are rooted with the locked loop method, which means that if ONE loop pulls free, then they can all pull free in sequence. A lot of her hair loss was full plugs coming out of her scalp, and a lot of it was breakage. The hair that was left was a mess.
It wasn't tangled at all and was rather soft, though. I guess if you were desperate, a BunchEming could help emulate the texture of 4c hair? There has to be a better way to give a doll 4c hair than this self-torture, though.
A good bath, shampooing, three conditionings, and straightenings later and...
I had to cut out a few inches (I am bad at cutting shh), and her hair still has a lot more texture than it's supposed to.
I do not ever want to do that again.
She's going back to Goodwill to see if someone else wants to adopt her, and the BunchEms are going in the trash because they're full of doll hair and that's kind of gross.

Saw aromantic trending so I wanna rant share about my experience being aroace :D
It never really occurred to me as a kid that I was different when it came to romance and stuff. Whenever my friends talk about crushes, I often think about an entirely different topic cause I could never relate. It never interested me since I never felt it. People would have crushes on others in school, celebrities, or something else. But it never occurred to me that having no attraction wasn’t the norm since I always thought I’ll find the “right person” someday. I was just like “everyone gets a romantic partner eventually, why should I rush it?” Which is why I didn’t feel out of place for my lack of attraction. I was never rushed by my peers, but I was taught that love eventually happens.
Figuring out and accepting I was aroace was definitely a slow burn for me. I knew what the label was and I think I kinda identified with it but it felt like a label I tacked on cause I was always thinking in the back of my mind that I’ll like someone someday. Overtime, I realized that the present is what matters when identifying as something, and right now, I can confidently say I’ll never feel sexual and romantic attraction. I’ve come to accept that I’m aroace and I’m very proud to be.
Upon this realization though, I’ve seen how much this world and a lot of people in it values romance. So. Much. Amatonormativity. There were multiple times where I would hang out with a friend of a different gender and friends of that person would be like “oh wow u finally got a partner” or something. Like, we were just talking, which is something that, literally, everyone does. Sometimes I feel like everyone expects me to marry when I don’t want to. One time my sister was talking about her celebrity crush and my mom said “everyone has a celebrity crush” and when I replied with “I don’t,” she said “aww” like it was sad or something. And I don’t understand why?? It’s not a bad thing to not have a crush on a popular person. Also, I’m glad the internet lets me see other people are also aroace cause a lot of the time, I feel lonely. Literally all the people in my life have either had a crush and/or been in a relationship. I’m not sad I don’t feel that same attraction, but I would like someone in my real life to talk to about this, someone who’s able to understand the lack of feelings I have, someone who has the same ideas about amatonormativity. Yeah I’m good with being alone, but it can get lonely when it feels like I’m the only one who doesn’t feel romantic and sexual attraction in a 100 mile radius. I don’t got a desire to partner up in any kind of relationship, so I have to accept that I’m most likely not the first priority for anyone due to me not being their lover.
Despite those struggles, I’m still very glad to be aroace. It feels so nice to know that I can live a life that’s not pictured for me already. I don’t want a partner, I don’t want kids, I don’t want to marry, and other stuff. Anyone can do that, but I love not feeling crushes. I don’t hate romance or sex, but I don’t really care about it when it comes to real life. I never felt like I had to conform when it came to romantic relationships and I’m gonna keep doing that. If someone had a button that could give me romantic and sexual feelings, I would take the batteries out and shatter it into a million pieces, cause I’m damn glad to be aroace.
This thing turned out way longer than I expected and I know I’m a little late for aromantic visibility day but I just wanted to pour all this out. Thanks for reading all the way if u did and happy pride month y’all :>
#lgbt#lgbtq+#aroace#acearo#asexual#aromantic#maybe I’ll do more rants like this#I’m so sorry it’s long

For the shipping game: DenEst and SweEst <33
We're off to an amazing start
SweEst
SweEst is one of my favorite ships in the entire fandom. For one, there is lots of historical backing to it - Sweden was once the empire that ruled over Livonia (some of modern day Latvia and all of modern day Estonia) and compared to the other powers that controlled the area, Sweden was pretty relaxed when it came to governing. Sweden was, generally, quite kind to Estonians, advocated for opportunities to have the population educated, and even allowed them to keep their folk beliefs instead of forcing them to convert to Christianity. In the grand scheme of things, a lot of Estonians don't consider Sweden's rule colonization, and it's a generally agreed upon fact that the Swedish Era in Estonia was the good era. Later, Swedes also supported Estonia's bid for independence and around 1000 (I believe) volunteers ditched their country to go fight Russians in Estonia in the 1910s. They remain good friends to this day, diplomatically, too.
In terms of hetalia, I view their relationship as one that's VERY slow to form. Initially, Sweden was uninterested in befriending Estonia, only communicating the fact he was the better option in comparison to the Teutons, Russia, and Denmark. He wanted Eduard to understand that so that he could govern him without hiccups. If Estonia knew he was the best choice, then maybe he wouldn't be as violently resistant to him as he was to everyone else.
I imagine things started to change about 2/3 of the way through the swedish era, when Sweden began to pursue a genuine friendship with Eduard. That was unheard-of (in my hcs) by that point, as Sweden's only real mission was to subdue those his crown told him to, and Estonia would have been one of them. He placed value and worth on nations based on their power, and, of course, being controlled by someone his entire life, Eduard had very little of it. But what he lacked in strength, he made up for in sheer tenacity and power of will, which eventually swooned Sweden, which Sweden wasn't expecting at all. The fact that someone had been able to "seduce" (seduce used lightly here, Eduard was being an asshole and Bernhard just went "omg so dreamy" bc he's AN IDIOT) him and not the other way around really caught him off guard.
He didn't pursue anything, of course. He was too busy, and Eduard was practically a feral cat. Sure, he'd come home to eat, but get too close and he'd run; touch him, and you'll probably contract rabies from the bite. Not only that, but very soon after Ber decided he wanted to kiss this man and stare longingly into his eyes... He lost him. To Russia. And immediately was barred from seeing him. I imagine Russia wouldn't have wanted Sweden, whose rule was very obviously preferred to his by Estonians, to speak to him, lest he inspire a rebellion. The only way they maintained contact was bc Finland decided he cared more about Eduard and his mental health than he did about his hate for Sweden, and he helped smuggle in letters that Sweden wrote. He knew it kept Estonia and Latvia's spirits up.
They probably wouldn't have gotten together until the modern day, if at all. It's honestly equally likely to me that ber is just too afraid to lose Eduard's friendship and keep quiet about his feelings as it is that he took a chance and started a relationship with him.
Either way, Eduard is just COMPLETELY caught off guard. "Me?? ME?? Why!" He doesn't get it. Ber is far more conventionally attractive than Eduard is, plus is tall, with the strong silent schtick that makes people lose it, AND he's a sweet and attentive father who loves and gets along with kids. He's got all these interesting hobbies and interests, and has amazing life stories to tell. Eduard really wouldn't think he's worthy of attention from someone like ber, and that ber is WAY out of his league. It would confuse him, but he obviously wouldn't be opposed to the idea of a relationship with him. He likes ber! He's been friends with the guy since the 16-ish00s. He knows him well. He's seen just how much he's grown as a person. He knows him, his motivations, his interests, and he knows enough to know that he would probably do well in a relationship with him. He's very analytical about the whole thing, because he doesn't want to leap into something just for it to go badly and ruin one of his closest friendships.
I think the relationship would go pretty slowly because of this. For Eduard it's a matter of experimentation and for Ber, it's a matter of keeping Eduard comfortable. He does not wanna step on his toes.
I have a confession to make. I've never offered this ship more than 2 of my brain cells until now. Mostly bc, hot take, I'm not super into Denmark. He's fine! He's silly and cute in an annoying big brother kind of way
DenEst
But this ship almost veers toward "you can see what A likes about B, but not so much what B likes about A."
In my mind, Denmark is immature. Well meaning, yes, but immature. The way I tend to characterize Eduard, is as a very mature person. He had to grow up way too fast because he was constantly being picked on, targeted, and fought over by nations two, three, four times his size. Denmark being one of them, albeit much further back than Sweden and other nations. It was Denmark that Estonia led an uprising against, with the full intention to just kill anyone they caught (St. George's Night Uprising). Denmark wasn't kind to Eduard when he owned his territory and subjugated him. BUT Denmark was stupid and young at this point, fresh out of the Viking era, where violence was how problems were solved. It could easily be said that Denmark learned a lot from his time ruling over Livonia, and it is most definitely true that he chilled out a LOT as time went on.
Denmark can be an idiot. He's impulsive. He's a little absent-minded, and can be over-excitable. But one thing he is not, is malicious. In fact, he's likely the most outwardly kind and affectionate out of the Nordics, excluding Finland. He is soft-hearted and kind, and he cares very much about the people around him.
Some of the ideas a friend (@hetaestoniahq) has shared with me revolve around Eduard in the 90s. If you're unaware, Estonia struggled a lot in the 90s. Being released from a horrific dictatorship that repeatedly tried to demolish your people's spirit in the WORST ways will do that to.
According to his hcs, Denmark was one of the nations who regularly kept contact with, checked on, and spent time with Eduard after he was granted independence. This stems from the fact that Denmark was one of the 1st countries to re-establish diplomatic ties with Estonia, if not the first. Denmark also sent volunteers to aid Estonia in their war of independence, like Sweden and Finland did.
He tried to make sure that Eduard was staying healthy, building healthy habits, and taking care of himself. Obviously this would have been a struggle, but Denmark would have done his absolute best, because Estonia was a friend of his, and he never lets his friends down, if ever he can help it.
And honestly, it would have just gone from there. It's a very soft and wholesome ship, I totally understand why all 5 people who ship this like it as much as they do.

How do you interpret US Papyrus? I'm always curious how others interpret him because there's a good range of them!
Ooh, in general?? Hm, I guess mostly the way I try to interpret him is sort of like if you gave UT Papyrus chronic fatigue and issues tied to having to act as the judge in his world! Which, to me, basically makes him very silly, kind, sassy, but also very insecure and very lonely.
I should explain- ough this is gunna be an essay so there'll need to be a readmore soon aha, but I should explain how the whole "judge" thing usually works in my interps!
It's not an inherent thing, or some "angel given" power, there has always been an acting Royal Judge, someone the crown had appointed that they felt they could, well, trust the judgement of, who they could consult about crimes and justice and whatnot. The prior judge Fell some years ago, but since Toriel/Asgore had already left, Asgore/Toriel never appointed another, as a sort of self punishment as well as a promise they would continue with their task of collecting the human souls without the assistance (or interference) of someone else.
That was until Sans/Papyrus came along. The "judging" effect was caused by one of the many methods Gaster used to make the brothers, involving the justice soul trait. This is where the KR came from, as well as the unique ability to "see" the sins in others' souls. After discovering this unique ability, eventually the king/queen asks Sans/Papyrus to act as the new judge (as well as some other reasons that vary depending on AU).
Now, the kr and "judge" ability manifested in Stretch much later than the sanses in non-swapped AUs, which made it a much more difficult transition that only made it much harder for him to socialize with others. He basically couldn't "turn it off", which, on top of feeling incredibly guilty about the invasion of privacy, made him feel anxious and stressed out and couldn't help but put the negative thoughts front and center in his attention, making him also feel like those were the most prominent thoughts and feelings of those around him.
So like, you know how anxiety and self image issues make you feel like everyone secretly hates you or finds you annoying or etc etc etc, basically, he had "proof" that was true, and despite trying his best to ignore it, things are already hard enough for a pre-teen/teen, on top of his physical health taking such the dip it did around that time, too, he quickly became anxiety riddled, isolated, and miserable.
Before then, he was actually a lot like Rus (UT) when he was a kid! And it was hard on Blue, too, since he was practically just a teen himself, so for all of that to land on his brother as well as needing to work harder to take care of him when he had bad health flares, things were rough for a while there.
That being said, Blue did help in keeping Stretch's mental health from completely plummeting, always trying to keep his mood up, encouraging him, trying to find him friends (how he met Undyne aka Sylv!), etc etc, and the brothers grew a lot closer in that time, as Stretch had always admired Blue, and it meant a lot to him.
That was until, of course, things never got any better. His health continued to decline into older teendom/young adulthood, and there was some personal drama here and there, especially involving Sylv, and when Blue joined the guard, that was the last straw. Stretch was sick of feeling like such a burden on everyone, so even though he'd initially turned Toriel down to act as judge (knowing his brother absolutely hated that she'd even asked him in the first place), he went back to her and accepted. That was really when the distance between the brothers started, which wasn't helped by the resets starting up soon thereafter.
(Quick aside, as he got older, he did get the hang of controlling his "judging" ability, and "turning it off" is no longer an issue for him later on)
So in his efforts to become more independent, he worked a lot on his social life and how to interact with others and make himself well liked. Sure, maybe he doesn't really have any real friends, and people forget his name all the time, but he'd finally learned how to utilize his heightened intuition to get along with people, rather than weird them out.
He’s still riddled with anxiety and self worth issues, but he’s gotten incredibly good at masking, and typically comes off as very relaxed and friendly. He’s a big fan of wordplay and very mild practical jokes (like those types of gags where you put on Groucho Marx glasses and pretend to be someone else. Blue always plays along for the bit), but he has a tendency to hold people at arms length, and tries to avoid others actually getting to know him.
Very few people know he’s the judge, and he prefers it that way, he'd rather everyone underestimate him so he never disappoints. That being said, he does still make quite an effort to help those around him without their knowledge, and he’s still lowkey very interested in engineering and computer science. Him and Rus are definitely two peas in a pod when it comes to interests, they could talk about comics for hours on end, but the primary difference is that Stretch tries much harder to hide how much he cares, where as Rus will shout it from the rooftops.
I'm not a big fan of the characterizations that make him a huge brat, sometimes even an outright jerk, I don't really understand them since neither Sans nor Papyrus are like that, but w/ my guy, he’s definitely a huge dork and sweetheart, who just also happens to be very sassy at times ahdjfjsksk
He also still holds on to his belief in others, like Rus. Even despite literally knowing better, he’s also been proven right too many times to lose that hope, which is why, in his fight, as opposed to UT Sans, he gets very quiet and looks miserable. He genuinely doesn't want to hurt them, but he knows he’s out of options. When he offers an out before the fight, he won't spring a surprise attack, and just offers a genuine hug. The player doesn't get a choice after accepting, they kill him, and his final words are pretty similar to Rus' about knowing they can do better, and he believes in them anyway, though he makes a comment about that sounding pretty stupid with a laugh before he collapses off screen.
WOW this got longer than I meant it to I'm sorry huge lore drop instead of just general facts ough BUT ! Idk, hopefully this gives a half decent feel for how I interpret him! I love him a lot I'm mixing him into a salad like a crouton <3
#ty for the ask I'm so sorry I've done this otl#but also I will say I really like the way u interpret him from what I've seen!! he still feels very Papyrus which I feel is super important#w/ the aus 👏💗#I need to draw stretch more I need to finish that sketch page of him my believe nerd boy <3#🧡🧡🧡❕❕❕#us stretch#underswap papyrus#sun spots#op has never stops talking disorder fr ✌️😔#kiok0r0#clear sky sunset#underswap

Roz x Robot!reader
You had crash landed in the woods. Your metal package and your transmitter to contact your built site had been damaged as well.
So you decided to try and find the person whom had ordered you.
Yeah that didn’t go well.
You had been kicked, attacked, chased and more within just the span of 6 hours before giving up and sitting in learning mode to fix the language barrier you’ve found yourself trapped in.
Due to being in learning mode, you hadn’t been paying enough attention to your surroundings, causing you not to notice the Rozzum unit analyzing you.
Fink: what is it Roz?
Roz: it seems to be a Rozzum unit, but I cannot tell the number nor model.
Yeah you scared them when you came out of your learning mode.
(Name): hello! I am the new and improved (Name) Unit: 0001. I am a one of a kind prototype! Here for any needs or demands!
Fink: I’m getting flashbacks.
Roz lead you to her, Bightbill and Finks home. She hadn’t ever seen your model before, so she excitedly asked you questions.
Roz: I’ve never seen your make or model. What are you designed for?
(Name): I am designed for many things. Cooking, shopping, manual labor, heavy lifting, childcare-
Roz: child care?
(Name): indeed, is this something that interests-
Roz: I have a kid.
(Name):…. Alright.
She proceeded to bombard you with questions on what your childcare program provided, which as per your programming, complied.
When you arrived to the home of the Rozzum, she led you inside and began showing you baby pictures of her “kid”
(Name): this is your child?
Roz: yes, he is called Brightbill.
(Name):…. He has your eyes.
You ended up staying with Roz, Fink, and eventually Brightbill when we returned for the spring.
It took a lot of getting used to the fact that you could no longer follow protocol here. But at least some of your programming helped you and the others a bit.
Such as you being more stronger than the Rozzum, as well as having better and hardier equipment than the other models. Fink definitely appreciated your heating mode (which is often used in your caregiver function to help a baby fall asleep) during the harsh winter…. And so did many of the other animals.
Pink tail likes you, since you watch her kids when she needs a break.
Pink tail: you found a good mate Roz. Possums aren’t so lucky when it comes to that.
Roz: what do you mean?
Pink tail: some of us don’t have life mates. (Name) seems to be a pretty good parent though.
Roz: Mate?
Que Roz studying “mate’ and “partner” which rabbit holed her down into “Spouse” and so on.
Fink ships it.
Brightbill ships it.
Pink tail…. You guessed it. Ships it.
Que all the animals trying to keep you two together.
Pink tail: Hey, Roz. (Name) is looking for you!
Fink: hey (Name) I think Roz wants to ask you more questions about your programs. I think she’s at the beach.
Brightbill: hey mom, (Name) wanted me to tell you he’s at the beach.
And so on.
Yeah you both confused by it all.
Eventually you two do end up spending some time together. Actually it was where Roz first met Pink Tail. You were busy analyzing some of the plants around you (as per your programming to search plants in case they have useful properties or are dangerous) while Roz sat there observing.
You two had a good time…. Ignoring the fact that a certain Fox and goose were stalking the two of you.
A couple weeks later, Brightbill let it slip and called you dad. You didn’t mind.
At this point you’ve become just as much as a wild robot as Roz has. And we’re very useful to your new family as you were able to repair minor things for yourself and Roz, which made it easier during winter.
You now also have your own picture with the rest of the family.
The other animals like you, you just kinda have a reputation of being more aloof and less soft compared to Roz.
Unless it’s the young… you are shockingly good with young. (As if you weren’t programmed to take care of them-)
The next winter, you had found an egg and brought it home.
Roz: here we go again.
Brightbill:…. Well I was upset at not having siblings-
