arthur (prince of camelot) still has to study under a tutor bc yknow uther wants him to be very intelligent before becoming king or something bc its super important idk idc anyways merlin is doing chores in his chambers while arthur is squinting at a book and merlin eventually caves and asks him what he’s reading and arthur gruffly explains that its a collection of stories from greece that make absolutely no sense so merlin asks him to read them outloud to him. arthur of course teases him and calls him an idiot and asks how he could possibly help but does as he’s asked and reads the stories to merlin as he does his chores. merlin (being crushed under the weight of destiny and tormented by the prophecies that kilgharrah spews) understands the stories almost immediately and gets all excited and starts rambling about them with arthur. arthur is glad to have someone who understands so he can give something that reflects a hint of understanding to his tutor who accepts it and moves onto the next unit of education.

the thing is, arthur finds more stories in camelot’s library and brings them up to his room to read them aloud to merlin under the guise of completing his studies but really he just wants to watch as merlin’s eyes gleam when he understands whats happening and listen to him ramble on and on about them bc he’s gay. the stories stick with merlin though and he realizes that they’re cautionary tales, that the heroes who were told too much of their future doomed themself to fulfill them - that them fighting the prophecies led to their completion. merlin takes it to heart and gives a big “fuck you” to kilgharrah before forging his own fate and helping morgana with her magic and handing out an olive branch to mordred and now everyone can live happily and peacefully in an albion teeming with magic.

It's really fucked that when I google 'intersex' the news articles that come out are all mocking the US gov recognizing intersex awareness day. Calling us 'frankensteins' 'sick in the head' 'defective genetic fuck ups'. I saw a completely batshit conspiracy theory that the US government 'created' intersex people a few decades ago to 'attack traditional values' or something. Forget about all of us who don't live in the US, forget about the historical records of intersex people, to the point where we could test DNA from prehistoric skeletons preserved a certain way and could find that they're intersex. They keep going. They say, someone 'needs to step in and study how these get passed down so these people don't reproduce'. Just literal fucking eugenics. Even beyond their hatred, their intersexism, their transphobia, it makes me even more sick to my stomach is that none of the facts, none of our history matters. They're not just uninformed, they don't give a shit. And the reason, the fucking reason people were losing their shit over the fact that the US state department recognized that we exist, is that they they think that all of the US government's attention should apparently be to supporting Isreal bombing and killing thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians. They want nothing but killing and bloodshed and violence and death and apparently the acknowledgement of intersex existence is too much of a fucking distraction for them from their fucking need for violence. And even if they wanted something else, something harmless, a government agency puts out a TWO PARAGRAPH STATEMENT and they think it will fucking shut other things down. And while recognition is nice, the bar is so fucking low that saying 'hey these people exist. they deserve rights' about intersex people is a FIRST, and people think that two fucking paragraphs is too much. As someone who practices kink on the side, I’m scared of getting thrown off the site even if I don’t break the rules. Because people just go “well obviously it’s ALL sexual” when they see the way I practice agere. How will you keep your site from mob mentality and becoming like twitter? How will you protect trans femmes and older queer people from getting targeted and attacked/reported? This is such a common issue In the tumblr and twitter agere communities

it's like this: i, and presumably my mods have a lot more urgent things to do than investigate everything every user does on other websites. i get similar questions to this pretty often: "i'm a furry, can i still join? i like xyz thing, can i still join?"

the definitive answer is as follows: my site is for ALL regressors. i personally can't care about the unrelated kinks and hobbies of every user. the rules of my site are (reductively) that you must be a regressor of some kind and that nothing on the site can be nsfw. if you want to know more about what's being defined as nsfw, feel free to check out the section about it on the survey results report! it's not a complete guideline, but it should give you an idea. wearing fursuits and reading weird e-rated fanfic is not on the list.

in summation: as long as you aren't being a jerk or a creep, i'm happy to say i don't care about what unrelated things you do behind closed doors (and not on my site).

also, as someone who hates twitter and the weird cancel culture digital lynchings it birthed: call-out posts on another user, sharing receipts, doxxing, and other attempts to get other users canceled or brigaded falls under my policy on harassment and will get someone banned. if anyone has a legitimate issue with another user, they should use the reporting feature to get in contact with a site mod or admin! :>

this article provides some excellent info on the situation. please notice how they're framing it- saying that "all new zealanders will be treated the same" is their way of saying "we don't think the oppressed indigenous people deserve special protection of their land and taonga". it is fucking nasty how they are reframing it as a positive thing for equality when they are simply destroying attempts at equity. it sssuuuuuucks and its bad and I would love for more people to know about it. the article also touches on the other shit things they're doing like forcing organisations to remove the te reo māori translation of their names, and withdrawing from the UN declaration on the rights of indigenous people.
