Yandere! Armin Arlert Headcanons
AGED UP I REPEAT ALL CHARACTERS ARE AGED UP-
This little blonde ball of curiosity is verrryy toxic in my Yandere version.
Armin knows how innocent he looks to other people and by playing on this, coupled with his practical and analytical genius status, boy is it so very easy for him to gain the trust of his comrades, friends and especially his Beloved.
I feel as if Armin wouldn’t be picky with a particular type, but never being attracted to an unkind or particular person he would be disgusted by in any way.
He may fall for someone who is slightly colder, or who doesn’t really know how to respond to kindness. In that scenario, Armin would be overjoyed, but very patient and giving with them; if he wasn’t Yandere.
I see him as very touch-starved and wanting, but afraid to be clingy for fear he would drive his Beloved away. In this case he would dote on you as best he could in his environment, making you fall for him even more.
You would him as endearing, and like most, innocent. Armin is smart; one might say way too smart for his own good, and being a Yandere, I feel this makes him just as dangerous as those willing to use physical violence/methods on their Beloved.
He knows that you just love his little quirks and his way of thinking. If you tell him this, he may think you only see him as valuable because of his skill for strategizing. But when you reassure him that you just love him for him, he just falls in love with you even more.
He’s worrisome about you. Every time he makes practise with your ODM gear until you’re bruised, and exhausted, ready to run into his awaiting arms. Rewarding you with cuddles and affection, Armin’s love isn’t exactly conditional; but it still isn’t normal.
But that’s if you accept his feelings, with Armin being a Yandere or not, and with your knowledge or ignorance.
If you don’t accept his feelings, whether it being for your personal reasons, or because you…um, like someone else, to put it nicely;
YOU’RE FUCKED.
He’ll smile, nod his head, maybe try a little too hard to act like he’s okay with your decision. But you understand, after all, it’s not like you haven’t been rejected before.
“We can always be friends, Armin! I’m here for you okay?”
“Yeah, Y/N, whatever you say…”
About a few weeks after his rejection, with all of the support from Eren, Mikasa and the others, Armin is slowly descending into a deep depression.
He was so sure of his feelings for you. They were his most prized possession. You made him laugh, you made him blush and god you made his pitiful life seem so much more worth living. You were the ocean, and he just wanted to drown myself in you. Like the sun he saw so rarely, you were the ray of pure light that made his body burn.
He lay awake at night, taunted and enthralled with the thoughts of you in so many different scenarios….maybe in particular, different positions.
[Yes, those kinda positions. Armin’s not always that innocent, y’all.]
He knows that the more he thinks of you in these appetizing ways, in these hurtfully satisfying scenarios, he’s never going to be able to get over you.
Rather, he’s not even going to try.
Being trapped in his fantasies, Armin is horrifically aware that these feelings are incredibly toxic, for the both of you. He just won’t let you go. Whatever it takes, Armin will commit whatever crimes he must to keep you in his life.
He sees you as being misunderstood, especially if you’re typically a colder person, hard to read, detached. Some people compare you to Levi, but Armin just knows that you, like the Corporal, have far more depth than you let on.
His intrigue doesn’t let up for a long while, as you’re constantly surprising him in new and amazing ways. You’re used to his deep interest in you after a while, but you still don’t understand him.
Armin thrives on your confusion at first, but if it drives you away from him, he’ll go into tactical mode. Staying up all night, figuring out who is calling your attention to them rather than him and what his next move should be.
With his intelligence, Armin keeps his sizzling bafflement and envy under wraps. He tells himself that maybe he had unerved you a little. He can get like that sometimes, surely you understood him well enough to know that?He obviously did find you interesting and he was willing to momentarily abandon Eren and Mikasa just to fuel his endless curiosity.
Keep in mind, this is after you reject him, and his desperation to just know you and love you is greatly overwhelming him to the highest degree. You just won’t allow him to really see you, to understand you.
Eventually, he snaps. Just not in the typical yandere way. We all know that Armin feels as though he is a nuisance, a self-proclaimed burden so he keeps most of his feelings inside, and lets them loose to either prove a point, or while under stress.
It takes a minute for him to decide what to do with you, because he knows that once he has made a choice, it has to be the right choice. He has to know and map out a detailed plan, whether it’s doable, whether he’s able to pull it off by himself, etc.
His analytical skills come into play, and he plans everything from the location, time, the equipment needed at exactly what time. By this time, he will have comepletely left you alone; abrupt and brash, and just as he planned, you were surprised. Yes, he wanted to get to know you, and you couldn’t help but feel even slightly violated and maybe even disturbed.
Your like anyone in the world, have natural curiosity and interest in just about anything. But the unfamiliar feeling of unsettlement around Armin just felt…off.
You secretly knew of his deep infatuation; people always seemed to determined to figure the silent types out, to crack them open, decipher their many secrets. In terms of this analogy, you sort of understand, maybe even sympathise with his endless novelty toward your character, but even so…just why?
Maybe it was the fact that you felt bad for him, in a sad, puppy love kinda way. Maybe you saw him as a traumatized individual, just putting his assumed coping mechanism to work, with you just in the innocent line of fire.
If he kidnaps you at all, Armin will smother you. Telling you how much you mean to him, explaining that only he can access your wonder and intrigue. Because, after all, he worked this hard to get you; why would he ever share you with anyone else?
Although he will be stern, he’ll always be nice about it, rewarding you or not.
You’re an enigma to Armin Arlert, keeping him guessing, testing his patience with all of your being. You don’t know it, but soon you’ll be in his possession.
I headcanon him as seeing your refusal, your blatant rejection as some kind of ‘disease.’ You haven’t even seen the best of him yet, why make up your mind about something that you know almost nothing of? Oh well, you’ll have plenty of time to get to know each other very soon. He’ll bare his injured soul to you, and you’ll have mo choice but to do the same for him. It’s what married couples do after all, right?
Just let him love you, Y/N. Let Armin adore you. It’s the best thing to do if you want everyone to live.
Glassy, still sapphire eyes simply stared at you in the weak light of a stolen candle. You couldn’t quite pinpoint what they were saying, those beautiful, dangerous, albeit loving eyes. But yet, they also held malice in their abyss’. Endless, bottomless, simply divine they were. That was all you knew.
“Why…do you lie to me?” he murmered. A small, rough palm came to rest against your hollowed cheek, fingertips gently tapping against the skin. Realising how close he truly was, you tried your hardest to get away, shifting in your place in the surprisingly plush, old bed, but all it took was a flash of blonde hair to whip past your face, before he succeeded in holding your arms down.
While he never did this explicitly to punish or harm you, Armin always knew just how to exert his power. Never mind the boundaries that he installed in you the day of your arrival; he didn’t care for them as much as you had to pretend to.
This Armin was unhinged. Normalcy could never be considered in this relationship. He could never understand the pain he put you through. To Armin, it was all in the name of his devotion. All of his interest had been rooted in one fact; you refused to love him.
Once he figured out that you wouldn’t couldn’t love him of your own accord, he became enamoured with something he just knew he could never have.
He had never even thought about taking you, drugging you, dragging you to a secluded spot in the woods, or an out of bounds room, derelict over many years.
“I never intended to take you like this, bunny.”
Swallowing hard, you tried to look him in the eyes, gently lifting your head higher and higher until his blue pools of mere unhinged insanity met your own pained orbs. Seeming to like this, he smiled.
His perfect teeth looked more like fangs in the dim, weak moonlight. It had felt like he had managed to suck every molecule of beauty from even the most simple of things.
His voice sounded like the devil; harsh, unforgiving lilting tones of false hope daring to stroke you face and make you think you had a good chance at happiness.
You didn’t know when he stopped being Armin and began being a monster. You didn’t know if the lines could be blurred any further.
“I never wanted this, Armin-”
“Don’t play with me, bunny,” he snapped. His slender fingers wound themselves in your clean hair, twisting and searching for a soft spot to pull. When he found it, he lightly tugged; barely, but you still winced from the thought of the last time he did this.
You still wanted to believe that he was quiet, sweet Armin who still had an unstoppable fascination with you, but he was harmless then. Or was he? Was he faking his intentions? Did he have it planned from the very beginning?
You wanted to choke yourself for believing his simple demeanour, his dedication to the cause of the Survey Corps just like everyone else. He was a liar. He was a predator in all ways, ensnaring you, his perfect prey.
Only now had Armin realized just how confused you were.
You didn’t understand his love for you. You thought he hated you!
Now that wouldn’t do.
Armin could have have kicked himself. All of his stern discipline and rules stemming from his love and protection meant that you mistook for him being cruel. He was doing this out of his devotion!
How could he assume you would understand if he never told you, if he never proved his love?
“Armin, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything, I swear-” You took a deep breath, cutting yourself off. Now was not the place or time to be losing your composure; you still were trying to get used to the fact that you were being held against your will.
“Hush”, he suddenly murmured, gently taking your chin in his fingertips, before moving them to tenderly cup your face, his eyes darting anywhere that he could lay his gaze upon.
The gestures were so tender you found your cheeks erupting with a wild blush, the burning shame hitting you moments later when your hatred and slight fear hit you like a slap to the face.
Your embarassment only got worse when you felt his soft lips kiss your throat, his warm breath flush against your skin. His hands found themselves back in your hair again, stroking it, petting it, twisting it round and round his finger. His right hand caressed your nape, spreading his fingers so that they only just covered the width of your neck, and he pulled you closer, so that your head was nuzzled into his neck, buried beneath his love and fascination.
It all clicked.
Armin wasn’t just interested in you.
He was obessed with you.
Obsessively in love with you.
You felt pathetic. You felt weak. But in a strange way, you also felt loved.
You had no choice but to resign yourself to his touch, letting your head fall limp as he cradled you to his chest.
“Good bunny.”

pairing: bokuto x chubby fem!reader
summary: bokuto doesn’t understand why everyone’s giving you a hard time.
genre: fluff
word count: 1.6K
warnings: people are mean to reader >:(
You saw many flaws about yourself growing up, whether they were first pointed out to you by your parents, schoolmates, or even the cashier lady at the supermarket. The one particular flaw that seemed to follow you around throughout all the years seemed to revolve around one thing: your weight.
Looking in the mirror, you used to not see what was so wrong with how your body looked. You truly didn’t think you looked as overweight as those around you made it seem, but their words began to contaminate your thoughts and soon, you saw what they saw: someone who simply did not fit into a conventionally “beautiful” body, a standard set by models on magazine covers.
Some people had called you cute while growing up, but as you sat in your classroom during your second year of high school alone while others had gone to join their friends, you most definitely felt like all the kind words people had told you before held no meaning or sincerity to them.
“Hey, hey, hey!”
You’ve been hearing this every other day lately. It was always at the beginning of lunch time, give or take a few minutes depending on the day. The source of the brief disturbance to the white noise of the classroom was none other than Bokuto Koutarou, a third year. He always came to hang out with Akaashi, a classmate of yours that sat a few rows down from you.
You had seen Akaashi once or twice last year in the hallways, but never spoke to him, and even this year as his classmate, you barely exchanged any words. He seemed like a relatively quiet and observant person, so part of you wondered how he and Bokuto seemed so close yet were polar opposites.
You had been lost in your own thoughts, too busy staring off into space to notice a few classmates come up to sit at the desks around you.
“What, is our little piggy not hungry today?”
This was not unfamiliar territory for you. Once or twice throughout the week, a few students would get bored with themselves and decide to pick on you or taunt you. Usually, you would ignore them with your head hung low, and they would just get bored again, deciding to leave you alone until they saw another opportunity to mess with you.
Things like this used to bother you a lot more than they did now. Of course, their words would still keep you awake at night occasionally, but you’ve learned to move on.
It wasn’t like you hadn’t tried to lose weight before; nothing just seemed to work. It was as if your body had reached its current weight and stubbornly refused to change, no matter how much your heart and mind willed it. Your mother would toss in a few comments here and there about how boys wouldn’t want you because of this complex of yours and your father wouldn’t stand up for you. You supposed they were right, since the only time boys were interested in talking to you was to either make fun of you or compare notes after class.
“Did you not hear us, piggy?”
“You guys are talking in her face, so I’m sure she heard you loud and clear.”
You snap your head up towards the source of the voice and see Bokuto looking over in your direction. He has an unreadable expression on his face and your eyes flicker towards Akaashi as he also looks in your direction, his face blank with indifference to the situation.
“With all due respect, this doesn’t concern you,” replies one of the boys sitting in front of you.
“How rude,” says Bokuto. “Akaashi, you never told me how mean your classmates were!”
The third year turns to look at Akaashi, a pout on his face as he points to the group around you. Any thoughts you had of him being cool for butting in and momentarily diverting the attention away from you have all disappeared and it seems that everyone’s mental image of the suave and cool upperclassman have collectively shattered.
“Everyone is mean to Y/L/N-san,” Akaashi replies coolly.
You have to admit, as much as that statement should irk you, it doesn’t because you know it’s true.
“Why?” Bokuto turns his head back and looks directly at you. You feel yourself stiffen in your seat. He blinks his eyes a couple times, as if he can’t understand what anyone could possibly be giving you a hard time for. Part of you finds it refreshing, but another part of you is skeptical.
“This guy’s weird,” mutters one of the girls next to you. “Let’s just go.”
You feel a little dumbstruck as you watch the students around you stand and walk away before your eyes slowly return back to the pair of boys who are still staring at you. You can feel your face heat up at the realization that their eyes haven’t left you yet and you shift uncomfortably in your seat, clearing your throat.
“T-Thanks.”
Before anyone else can say anything, you quickly grab your lunch and head out of the room, muttering halfhearted apologies to the students you bump into as you walk down the hall. You make your way to the rooftop where a few other groups of students are enjoying their lunch and find yourself a decent and secluded spot. Maybe the fresh air would cool you down and prevent yourself from overthinking the situation that had just unraveled.
The next few days, you avoid eating lunch in the classroom and go back to the spot on the rooftop; you aren’t disturbed there and find it quite peaceful. You get used to not hearing Bokuto’s unique greeting and things seem to slowly go back to how they used to be.
“Hey, long time no see!”
You glance up as you walk down the hall, seeing Bokuto walking towards you, presumably heading back to his class as you head for yours. Although you’re sure he’s addressing you, you glance around to ensure that it really is you he’s talking to.
“Yeah, you! You’re in Akaashi’s class,” Bokuto laughs heartily as he walks up to you, stopping only a few paces away. “You know, no one really answered me when I asked why everyone is so mean to you.”
You can only look up at him, unsure what exactly his motives might be. There’s no way he’s this oblivious, right? You’ve heard stories about him, being a remarkable volleyball player and assumed that he would be intelligent. Was that limited to just volleyball?
“I should get back to my class,” you reply, bowing your head halfheartedly before rushing back to your classroom.
Needless to say, you’re socially awkward. No one has really given you this much attention without throwing a blatant insult at your face, so you’re unsure how to handle it. It isn’t until a week later when you miss the timing of heading to the rooftop for lunch and see Bokuto enter the classroom, making a straight beeline to sit in the empty desk in front of you, facing you. Akaashi has also moved closer, sitting in the desk to your right, looking at you with the same indifferent expression on his face.
“So, I’ve really been trying to figure it out for the past week and a half,” says Bokuto, propping his elbow on your desk as he leans his chin onto his palm, “and I still don’t get it.”
Your eyes flicker back towards Akaashi, but he doesn’t move a muscle that indicates that he’s helping you get out of this situation.
“W-Well, I…”
What’s he talking about? What are you supposed to say?
“Are you mean? Is that it? You seem like a normal girl, so I really don’t understand why everyone treats you so poorly,” says Bokuto, not letting you finish your half-developed thought. Is he teasing you? Is this some cruel way of indirectly making fun of you?
“Do you really not see it?” You ask, finding some rare confidence spurred by the thought of his antics being motivated to hurt you like everyone else.
You finally look into his eyes and see no malice in them, quickly casting your eyes back down when you can feel yourself blushing at the innocent intensity of his eyes staring back at you.
“Is there something I should be seeing?”
“I,” you pause. You’re suddenly afraid to say your next sentence because it’s a thought that was drilled into your brain since you were younger, but say it anyways. “I’m fat.”
Bokuto frowns.
“So?”
Well, that wasn’t an answer you were expecting.
“Huh?” You look at him again, brows furrowing slightly.
“What he means is, he doesn’t see why that’s a reason for you to be bullied,” Akaashi speaks up. Bokuto nods his head quickly, realizing the mistake in his word choice.
“Yeah, that’s what I meant!”
You narrow your eyes slightly in suspicion.
“No, really, Y/N! You look perfectly fine to me.”
You try not to show your surprise upon hearing Bokuto say your name, but you’re not sure how well you hide it. You want to question how he knows your first name, but something tells you that the boy sitting to your right has something to do with it.
“Thanks,” you say awkwardly, unsure of what else to say.
“If anyone gives you a hard time, let me know! I’ll take care of it for you,” Bokuto sits up, puffing his chest. You’re hesitant but feel your lips tug into the slightest smile.
“You don’t have to, Y/L/N-san. He’s all bark and no bite anyways,” says Akaashi. You feel your lips pull a little further into a smile. Bokuto looks like he’s about to complain or whine to Akaashi, but is stopped when he looks at your face.
“Wow, so you do know how to smile,” Bokuto grins at you. “You should do it more often. It suits you.”
That might’ve been the first time in your whole life to have ever felt butterflies in your stomach.

LGBT EDUCATION EVENT
I posted a bit ago to see who might be interested in an event for anyone to ask me any question they want about my LGBT identities, or the LGBT community in general, and there seemed to be quite a bit of interest, so here we are!
Event goes from midnight to midnight March 30 (starts in 5 minutes, lasts for the full 24 hours).
For those of you who don’t know me (you can skip this part if you already know who I am):
My name is Bumblebee, but you can call me Bee. I am white and use he/they pronouns. I am FTM nonbinary, queer, demisexual, and polyamorous. I work part-time at a non-profit targeted towards trans youth. At the non-profit, I moderate our 24/7 chat (I’m not the only moderator, don’t worry, I do sleep), am a facilitator for our middle school support group (When one of our high school facilitators cannot make it, I also step into that group occasionally). I also help create and present workshops (We are currently in the process of creating a presentation for Microsoft). My other job is as a receptionist for a Veterinary Clinic. (For safety reasons, I will not be sharing which nonprofit I work at, or which veterinary clinic I work at. If, for some reason you find out where I work, please keep this information to yourself). I was diagnosed with ADHD in February, and was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder two years ago. I have lived in the USA my whole life, and was raised in a non-religious household. My extended family is mostly Christian, with a few relatives who are Norse Pagan (we are originally from Norway). I am agnostic.
The purpose of this event:
Education. That’s literally it. I’ve noticed a lot of misconceptions about the LGBT community, and want to combat that with a good ol’ fashioned Q&A.
Here are a few rules before we start:
(I do have a TL/DR at the bottom, but if you have the time, I encourage you to read the full thing)
- This is a safe space.
This means a few things: You can ask any question you like and I will not be offended. Nothing is to be taken personally, it will always be assumed that you are trying to learn, unless you’ve clearly proven otherwise. If you’re hurt by something someone (including myself) has said, you’re free and encouraged to say something about it. All identities are welcome. Everything will be tagged with appropriate content warnings (If I don't tag something you need tagged, let me know and I will happily tag it!)
- Who can participate:
Anyone wanting to learn about anything LGBT, including but not limited to:
Cisgender/heterosexual people who want to become better allies, Writers who want to learn how to be more inclusive, People questioning their gender/sexuality, literally anyone prepared to be respectful to anyone else participating
(I do want to note: this event is open to NSFW conversations. If you are uncomfortable with this, please filter the tag “adult conversations”.)
- Any question is okay to ask.
This is a space for everyone to learn, regardless of their prior knowledge. I will never get offended by a question. I will not be offended by the phrasing of a question. If I am not comfortable answering something, I will explain why, but I will not be annoyed. Part of learning is making mistakes, and I want to be courteous to that.
I am super open, so I will answer almost every question, regardless of how personal it is, with a few exceptions (see the “my boundaries” point.
Yes, this means you can ask questions that you’ve been previously told never to ask. I want to clarify though: I will make it clear when a question is inappropriate to ask in normal circumstances. Since I am telling you beforehand that it’s okay to ask personal or private questions, it is acceptable to do so in this context. However, I will always add a note explaining why you shouldn’t ask people this in other circumstances so that it’s still clear which questions I am making exceptions for.
- My boundaries
I’m not going to share identifying information. That includes: My legal name, where I live, where I work, photos of myself, etc.
I’m not going to share my deadname either, though I am willing to have conversations about deadnames themselves.
I’m not going to share what my plans for bottom surgery are. I am fine to talk about bottom surgery itself, I am fine to share where I’m at right now, and have next to no boundaries about top surgery. But I’m not going to share what my plans for whether or not I’m getting bottom surgery are.
I’ve worked as a receptionist and trans advocate for long enough that I take nothing personally. Because of this, I ask that if you need to get upset or aggressive about something related to this event, please come to me directly instead of attacking a participant. I’d rather you send me hate than sending it to someone who is trying to use this safe space as a learning opportunity. This includes if you’re frustrated with a participant. I’m happy to facilitate a healthy conversation about a disagreement, but I will not tolerate anyone attacking others.
- Hate will be blocked.
When you’re talking directly to me, I’m going to assume you’re well-intentioned. HOWEVER. If you’re directly attacking others who are involved in the conversation, you will be blocked. If you have a problem, please come to me and I will work to resolve it. Sending hate to people other than myself is in violation of the safe space.
- My intention is never to speak over anyone
I don’t know everything about every identity. As a white person, I experience white privilege. As someone who passes as male about 80% of the time, I experience male privilege. I am able-bodied. I try my very best to educate myself, but I am still learning (and always will be).
If I speak on an identity that is not my own, I will always add a note to clarify this. I will only be speaking from the stories shared with me by people who have that identity, and from the additional research I have done.
MY WORDS ARE NEVER THE ONLY TRUTH. I cannot say this enough. Don’t take my words over those of someone who uses a specific label. Even if I also use that label. Everyone experiences the world differently. My words are a STARTING POINT. Please be aware that other opinions and experiences exist. I will try my best to have resources paired with every conversation so you can further your learning, but please be aware that I cannot teach you everything.
If I don’t know the answer, I will do research as well as provide you with sources.
- No question will go unanswered
Yes, this includes questions that come across as “disrespectful”. I have said this already, but I will always assume good intentions unless it’s proven that you’re coming from a place of malice. If a question is phrased in a way that comes across as harmful in any way, I will still answer it AND explain why you should ask it differently in the future or not ask it at all going forward.
If I don’t respond within 2 hours, please message me again: I either didn’t receive it or I am still writing my response. I don’t want to miss anyone just because you think I’m ignoring you, I promise I’m not.
The ONLY time I won’t answer a question is if you’ve made it clear that you’re only here to attack the people using this safe space (I will have already asked you to leave).
- If something upsets you, don’t ignore it.
If you’re hurt by something I, or someone else said, please let me know. My intentions are never to hurt or upset anyone.
You can disagree with people, including me, as long as you’re polite about it.
If you need me to talk to someone for you, I’m happy to do so. If you want a private conversation with me, my DMs are open. If you want to stay anonymous but don’t want your questions posted, use this 🌙 emoji (or just say so), and I’ll make a post trying my best to answer your question without sharing the contents of the ask itself.
I don’t expect you to educate me as to why you’re upset by something: that’s not your responsibility, I can educate myself. I do appreciate anyone willing to talk about differing views or why something upset them, but that is not the purpose of the event and you are under no obligation to educate anyone else. I will do my research the moment someone says something bothered them.
- Please don’t weaponise my words.
Please don’t use anything said here as a way to attack people. This event is to educate people. I hope there’s nothing said here that can be manipulated to hurt people, but I didn’t want to leave this unsaid; the point of this isn’t to attack people who are uneducated, it’s to help educate them.
- Most importantly: Please come into this with a desire to learn
This event won’t be helpful if you’re determined to not learn anything. The purpose of this is to ask questions and learn something. I can’t decide for you that you want to learn. I can’t force you to learn. You have to be willing, or this may seem very pointless to you. I’m not trying to change opinions or beliefs, I’m just trying to spread a little education. If you’re unable to take my words and really think about them, this may not be the space for you, but that’s up to you to decide.
Any topic is okay!
This includes (but isn’t limited to):
- Writing LGBT characters (such as how to incorporate same-sex representation without fetishizing gay people, writing for gender-neutral or non-female readers, making content trans-friendly, etc.)
- What to do when someone you care about comes out
- Coming out
- Transition-related questions (HRT, surgery, binding/tucking, deadnames, etc.)
- Defining terms or labels you’re unfamiliar with
- Working out your feelings about something (such as something you saw in media and need to talk to someone about)
- Various laws (questions about laws may take up to 3 hours to answer, as I would have to research your particular area, depending on the question)
- Literally any other question you can think of that has to do with the LGBT community in any way, these are just some ideas off the top of my head to get y’all started.
TL;DR: This space is open to anyone, any topic, any question just please be open-minded and respectful!
(Just like my first post, I’m including tags for the Pedro fandom because I’ve seen a lot of issues within that community, but this is open to anyone that wants to participate, regardless of what interests you have.)

An Open Letter to the DSMP Fandom
Hello there! If you're seeing this post, I'm assuming you're a fan of DSMP and either create or consume fan content about it.
I am operating under the assumption that many of you are new to Tumblr, fandom, or both. I would rather assume ignorance than malice, as I can see myself making the same mistakes.
Creating content about the DSMP is great! Exploring ideas and creating things about them is something I really appreciate. However, there are a few issues that have come up. For one, fandom tagging.
If you look through the dsmp tag with regularity, you'll be familiar with this. Tagging your posts and creations with the dsmp tag is a great way to share it with other fans! But there are a few tags you should avoid using. While DSMP members may be Minecraft YouTubers, or MCYT, most people looking through the MCYT tag aren't looking for DSMP content. They would look in the DSMP tag for that. Same thing with Minecraft as a whole. People looking in the Minecraft tag aren't looking to consume content about the DSMP, they want content about builds and public servers, or about characters associated with Minecraft who aren't part of a series, like Steve and Alex. Additionally, some people don't want to see DSMP content, for whatever reason. This is valid. Please remember to tag your DSMP-related posts with DSMP so people can blacklist the tag and avoid content.
There is another, more serious issue related to tagging: trigger warnings. Some subjects can cause people to remember traumatic experiences, such as ab*se. This is especially important to remember given the current events on the DSMP. I will use cats as an example of how to tag things. If you're discussing cats in detail, like how they act, you would tag your post or content with tw cats. If cats are mentioned, but not talked about with much depth, you may tag it with tw cats mention or tw cats. It's always better to over-tag a post than under-tag it. Ab*se is something that a lot of real people have experience with, and while it is your right to discuss that with your peers, if you don't tag it appropriately, you could really hurt someone.
Note that this goes for both text and art posts. It's also common courtesy to put art that may trigger someone, like if it portrays violence or blood/gore, below a 'read more' so nobody sees it when they don't want to.
I understand that you may not be aware of this, or not have understood how tagging works prior to now, but it is very important to do this as to not hurt people.
I will add my conclusion here. I understand you aren't doing this to be malicious. I don't want to talk down to you, and if it feels that way, I am genuinely very sorry. I just want you to understand that other people do not have the same experiences as you, and I know when I was younger I definitely did not respect 'peers' the way I should have. It doesn't take a lot of effort to tag, and it could really help someone.
Now below the cut I go on a tangent about a personal suggestion: If you don't consume much other content outside DSMP, I highly suggest consuming at least a bit of other content, either as a point for comparison as to how harsh DSMP is compared to most other content or just as a breath of fresh air.
If you have the time for another series, many people here will suggest Hermitcraft (Season 7 specifically, since it's the current one). It's another series where people play Minecraft on a server together and have different interactions, but the tone is much lighter. If you don't have the energy for something that long and involved, it has been going on for a year after all and even the creators who don't upload as frequently have lots of episodes (they're usually 30 minutes or less instead of stream vods but still), there are still lots of other creators to watch.
If you still want another SMP (these are all names I've heard from friends so I can't give solid information), there is FruitSMP, EpicSMP, Shady Oaks SMP (I know this one is a server with some older YouTubers, hence the retirement-home name, I know CaptainSparklez is on there but not sure who else), One Life SMP, and certainly lots of others I'm not aware of. If you want a series, Naked and Scared is a long-running series where in every 'season', two people start a hardcore world and have specific restrictions on what they can do but they have a goal to achieve. I believe season 12 is the one I watched part of. You can watch it on ImpulseSV's channel, and as far as I'm aware all the seasons are independent, you just pick one and enjoy.
If you just want some lighthearted solo content, I'm not too familiar with most of the current creators, but LogDotZip seems to still be making some good content and CaptainSparklez, who I mentioned earlier, uploads fairly often. Lighthearted group content that isn't a long-running series, I again am not too familiar with current groups, but if you're willing to watch some old content, I (completely unbiased /j) suggest watching old SkyDoesMinecraft collab videos like Cops n Robbers. They're recorded with friends and are a lot of fun, though I haven't watched them in a while so they may have some problems.
It also might be a good idea to consume some content that isn't Minecraft-related. I don't consume much that isn't vaguely informative these days, but I'm certain you can find someone who can give you a recommendation.
Just find something to give yourself a breather.
Note that I would talk this way to someone of any age who I didn't think knew better. If you know better already and choose not to tag, I would no longer be nice.

birth chart reading for @joonie5
hello! welcome to your reading. I’m gonna give you a quick overview of what I’m going to analyze about your natal chart. feel free to ask me anything if something isn’t clear, of course. you’ll find out your dominants’ influence on your persona, your physical appearance, impression on others and the way you approach the world; your ego, identity, the real you; your reactions, your desires, inner emotions; your way of expressing your feelings, your mind and ideas; your desires and approach to love; your energy tank, instincts and temperament; in-depth analysis of each house with their rulers and analysis of heavy aspects; love life + soulmates/karmic partners interpretation; your relationship with your friends; your family life; your approach to career and work in general + possible jobs suggestion; your style, fashion sense analysis; life purpose and past life description; basic transits’ analysis to describe your current mood and, last but not least, your secret skills, how to make the most out of your soul and manifest what you desire based on your birth chart.
🦋 chart shape, dominants
your chart is a bucket shape, with mars as the handle of the bucket. your mars is in the 6th house, hence matters regarding work, health and routine will be your priorities in this lifetime. you also have clear ideas about your future and who you want to be. even though you may have different passions and talents you’re capable of only sticking to one and mastering it, giving your all.
your dominant planets are uranus, mercury venus. you are a particularly smart individual, you're probably very witty and you always manage to come up with original and innovative ideas. in fact, you're very creative, and you may even express yourself through some sort of artistic hobby for example.
your dominant sign is aquarius. you're eccentric and rebel, you don't like being told what to do. you're very considerate of others, as you focus more on the development of a group rather than your persona. that's because you want the people you frequent to be as open-minded as you are. aquarius people are capable of elaborating different ideas in a short amount of time; hence, you either overwork yourself, or you're not able to keep up with all your ideas, leaving projects unfinished.
your dominant element is air. in your life, you adore seeking for knowledge of any kind. you may be interested in studying different subjects, from those you study at school like science, maths, literature etc. to more unconventional ones, such as astrology, psychology, criminology and so on. you enjoy interacting with people; even if you’re not that sociable, you’ll still be interested in their point of view and their ideals, as you see it as a way to expand your own mind. you’re also interested in vintage, and you may have a retro aesthetic or just like history in general.
🌎 ascendant in gemini, 11° / 2nd decan ruled by mercury and venus
you enjoy communicating and intellectualism. you’re very curious about everything that surrounds you. you love expanding your knowledge, ideas and mind in general through communication, interactions and media. you have the ability to adapt quickly to new situations; your mind is fast, usually impulsive, even though this energy may not be much prominent; it may be perceived differently due to your virgo energy, in fact. that’s because virgo prefers organizing things, rather than acting impulsively. yet, this placement still helps you being adaptable to changes, even though you may only be able to see it after a few years if you manage to balance it well. you may also be able to match the energy of the people you’re talking to in order to be perceived as more likeable and connect with everyone on a deeper level. you may be so focused on making up your emotions, that you could forget to feel them, though. this may eventually cause crisis in an individual. you may be fond of books, poetry, literature… both writing and reading. it’s also a way to let yourself tune to your emotions. since you’re constantly mentally active, physically you may also tend to play with your fingers or hair, or maybe you tend to gesticulate while you speak. appearance-wise, I assume you’re at least of average height, with long limbs and fingers. you have something small about your face; you may either have a small nose, or eyes, lips etc. same thing goes for your bones. you may be naturally skinny. you also tend to look younger than you actually are, especially when growing up.
gemini ascendant opposite sagittarius pluto: you're aware that the world is too nasty for your honesty, hence you may have trust issues. even though you are friendly, you're very picky about who you decide to actually call your friend. you may constantly feel lonely, as if no one were willing to listen and understand you. you live with the fear that others may take advantage of you, hence you end up doing it yourself, unconsciously. you may be controlling, but your chart hints that it's not too much of a big deal. you may have the tendency to do it sometimes, but it's mostly a bad trait of your past life. the universe is testing you to see if you've learned your lesson or not. you have all the skills to avoid this type of behaviour now that you're aware of it.
🌞 sun in capricorn, 13° / 2nd decan ruled by saturn and venus
you're an extremely ambitious and hard-working person. you have a goofy side to you, and with your gemini rising I don't think it's hard to let it out. nonetheless, you put a lot of seriousness in your goals. you aspire to be the best, not only for yourself, but also to be recognized. you don't do it to brag, though. you just want to feel fulfilled, being good at something boosts your self-esteem. in fact, you're quite insecure about yourself. you're a perfectionist, you always want to be at your best state, and that could pressure you. since you were a child, you always took care of your responsibilities, in fact you probably didn't find yourself at ease around your peers at school. you get along more with older people, or that are at least as mature as you, as you grew up sooner than other kids, with a strong sense of duty. you tend to be a bit too materialistic; for example, when thinking about a gift, you immediately think about something material that costs money, not something handmade, for example. money is very important for you, and you aspire to achieve a great status in life. you're also quite pessimistic, you never set your expectations too high, mostly out of fear. you're constantly afraid that things could turn out the way you don't want them to be, as you always want to have everything under control. because of that, you may even appear as bossy or snobby, as you may have the impulse to control people as well. you don't do it out of malice, though, it's something very subconscious that comes from fear. fear of not being able to achieve your goals and being criticized by others.
capricorn sun conjunct capricorn mercury: you express your ego and identity through your words and ideas. you’re very opinionated and you protect strongly your beliefs. after all, you probably came up with your ideals after thinking deeply about them, you were too precise to be wrong. you’re also probably an avid reader, and you could do well in writing yourself, as you’re able to properly convey your ideals with your words. also, your heavy gemini dominance makes you naturally good at writing poetry, or even philosophical quotes. your mind is very active, and you feel comfortable letting all your thoughts out. it’s actually a way to relieve stress. you also have a wide vocabulary, and you’re capable of making a formal speech if you have to. you have a memorable way of speaking, as your words are very sharp. it’s hard for you to be ignored for your intellect.
🌙 moon in aries, 24° / 3rd decan ruled by mars and venus
you aim for greatness. this is where your strong desire to be the #1 comes from, pretty much. you're very proud of yourself, and you don't like to acknowledge your mistakes. you always want to look like you have your life together, even in certain moments when you feel lost. I would say that this is a sort of self-sabotaging mechanism, as you can literally go as far as forcing a smile if it shows the world that you can stand by yourself. overall, I would say you deal with your emotions in a very 'child-like' way; after all, aries is pretty self-centered. you tend to preserve yourself more, unless someone really special to you is involved. in fact, aries moon makes you really protective of your loved and trusted ones, even though they're not many because of your high standards. you're also very honest, you speak from your heart. while it's a positive trait, you may be too blunt and ruin your relationships because of that. you're both smart and fast, hence you may get annoyed when people mishear or misunderstand your words.
aries moon square capricorn mercury: your thoughts and feelings are constantly in contrast with each other. your capricorn mercury desires privacy and formal, mannered relationships, your cancer moon wants more fun and action. this results in indecisiveness, you change your mind pretty often, and that can cause you conflicts due to communication problems. you're also pretty opinionated, you don't hide your feelings when you act by impulse. at least, the positive side of this placement is that you're probably very intellectual, capable of taking in consideration both the subjective and objective side of an argument.
🗣 mercury in capricorn, 18° / 2nd decan ruled by saturn and venus
you can come off as cold by the way you speak. when you're speaking to someone you're not close to, you choose your words more wisely and patiently; with your friends, on the other hand, you take off your mask and you just act the way you feel to. you may also be the type to give dry answers, such as 'ok', 'alright', 'good' and so on. your tone is calm and placid, while your voice sounds quite youthful, but still with a note of steadiness. you're funny, but your humor is more sarcasm-based. you're not intimidated easily; even when someone tries to argue with you, you don't back up from it. you may dive deep into your mind to find the right answer you to your problem. even if it takes you some time, you manage to find a solution. a downside to this is that you may lack patience; you are very efficient, and you want people to match your standards.
❤️ venus in pisces, 0° / 1st decan ruled by neptune
you’re hopelessly romantic, to the point that you almost look naive. you’re not simply looking for a partner or spouse, you’re looking for a soulmate; someone you can literally communicate with just using your eyes, someone that knows how to make you feel even messier on the inside. you like to nurture and feel nurtured in a relationship. your ideal lover would be sensitive and empathetic, yet still with a sort of rebel vibe to them. this placement is indeed very lovely, but it has its downsides too, of course. the problem is, pisces makes you idealize your crushes/partners way too much, to the point that you create an image of someone in your head that turns out to be the opposite at the end. you ignore your partner’s flaws, as they seem perfect to you. pisces also attracts 'broken’ persons, so you may be prone to find yourself people with any kind of illness or addiction. you also have the tendency to fall for people who may hurt you because they’re unavailable, either physically or emotionally. you could possibly also crush on celebrities, movie characters etc. that’s because you’re more the type to fall in love with love, rather than with the actual person.
pisces venus square gemini jupiter: you come off as a very positive, happy-go-lucky person. you're extremely friendly, and this makes you be good at social relationships. you may have lots of friends, or at least you have the potential to make many if you opened up and talked to them. yet, while this energy gives you positive vibes, some people may take advantage of that, as you could easily be mistaken for naive. people can try to dominate you unconsciously (sometimes even on purpose) not only in relationships but even in friendships. aside from that, I don't think this placement causes you many problems. you may have the tendency to procrastinate and not work. you could be quite lazy and get easily distracted, as you're constantly with your head in the clouds. yet, thanks to your capricorn energy, you still manage to find some motivation to do your work.
pisces venus square taurus saturn: you feel unable to love someone, or perhaps you feel pressured from others to hide your love, maybe it's your shyness or it could as well be other factors. this placement usually brings fear of committing, causing the individual to be flaky. there are two possibilities; I assume you directly avoid to get into relationships. your mind may unconsciously repress any thought about an eventual crush or love interest. it is caused by your insecurity, especially regarding your looks. or perhaps, it’s the other way around: you literally jump into relationships, resulting in you getting hurt from time to time. you could feel pressured to be in a relationship, even though it’s not your priority. this is something that is mainly caused by insecurity, whether you realize it or not, even though it's something that will get better with time, especially since you have a strong capricorn dominance. don’t be afraid of not being enough, because you are. but if you don’t realize it first, others won’t. you have to be your own healer, and you’re totally capable of doing that.
☄️ mars in scorpio, 6° / 1st decan ruled by pluto
you’re an extremely goal-oriented person. you want to be the best at everything you do, not only to be better than others but also the best for yourself. you’re very astute, it’s impossible to trick you, and you always find a way to be in charge and get what you want. yet, you can get quite obsessed about your goals, that you could do extreme things to get what you want. in fact, people with this placement can even manipulate others, as they’re totally capable of doing that. yet, I don’t see many placements that point out to that in the rest of your chart, aside from your gemini rising. in fact, you are probably a very smooth talker, as I've already mentioned above. people are naturally attracted to you, you have a way with words, and hence you’re always able to convince others into giving you what you want. but luckily, this doesn’t turn into manipulation, you probably don’t even realize this skill of yours, and hence you don’t use it to damage others. when you get angry, you could actually seem scary. your emotions are very intense, it’s hard to calm you down. mixed with your aries moon and capricorn mercury, you may be very sarcastic and aggressive with your words. you could hurt people, but you don’t do it on purpose. most of the time, you don’t even mean the things you say. you may also vent your anger with physical action, hence you could slam doors, punch or break things etc.
🏡 houses
your 1st house is in gemini. your ego feels fulfilled when you express your opinions, ideas and creativity. people probably see you as an intelligent, wise individual. maybe even as a know-it-all. you care about both your inner and outer self, which may be the cause of your confidence issues. you try to fit into society, and you tend to change your approach to people based on who you’re interacting with. while this gives you great social skills, it may confuse you quite a bit. in fact, you may forget who you are. you may often have identity crisis, especially since you always feel as if you have to fit somewhere. with the ruler of the 1st house in the 8th house, your life is oriented towards experiences and earning money. you probably love having deep, meaningful bonds with others, and you could also be quite picky in choosing your friends. you may be interested in the the occult and spiritual matters, like tarots, astrology, etc. you probably ask yourself about the meaning of existence a lot, for example, you’re constantly looking for the truth. above all, you love learning about yourself, and that also explains why you decided to book a reading.
your 2nd house is in cancer. your family, home and cultural background may play a big role in your finances. you may earn money through your family’s business, or maybe you actually work with your family. you may also work from home, especially online/through social media. your adaptability is your greatest strenght; you’re probably good at a different variety of jobs, hence it may not be hard for you to find something to cope before deciding your definite career. this also confirms that your values, self-worth and security were shaped by your roots, childhood and family. the ruler of the 2nd house is in the 11th house; having a dream, a goal to pursue and working hard for it is a great help to boost your self-esteem and be more self-aware. you may actually make money out of it, you could pursue the career of your dreams and earn a nice income from it. the 11th house also rules friendship, hence you could have many wealthy friends, or perhaps they help you feeling more confident. you’re probably more sociable when you’re in their company.
your 3rd house is in cancer. your parents were probably successful in school and university, and they passed down their knowledge to you. maybe, you felt so pressured to meet their expectations that you became insecure about your abilities. you may also find yourself talking about your memories, as you’re very attached to them, or even directly about your childhood/parents. you could, for example, write very personal poetry or books, you can’t help but tune in all of your feelings when you express yourself through words. the ruler of the 3rd house is in the 11th house: you may often find yourself thinking and talking about your goals. especially with your capricorn dominance, you are an hard-working individual who always tries to get their job done, and hence you may often talk about your achievements, your goals and expectations. you may also have lots of friends, especially from school, or at least you love talking to them, you have witty friends who you can have interesting and stimulating conversations with.
your 4th house is in leo. your family had great expectations of you, which could eventually led to anxiety/self-esteem issues. on the other hand, your parents cared about you, and they always made sure they let you have everything you needed. if you have siblings, you were most likely the favourite child in the family, or at least you were spoiled by your parents, both with material things and affection. overall, your childhood wasn’t much turbulent, I don’t see any kind of trauma. the ruler of the 4th house is in the 8th house: you could come from a possibly wealthy family, or perhaps you have quite of a secretive family. they may not go out too often, you may not like inviting people over for example. also, your family could have received an inheritance, or perhaps you’re the one who’s going to receive an inheritance from your family.
your 5th house is in virgo. you enjoy relax, yet you may feel guilty to abandon work for a while. you always feel like you have something to do, and that doesn’t allow you to fully enjoy your rest time. make sure to always find some space for yourself, though. it’s where your energy resides, you feel at home and comfortable exploring your abilities, you shouldn’t take them for granted. also, this enhances your writing abilities even more. in fact, you’re both creative to create stories and rational to tell them objectively and in a clear manner. the ruler of the 5th house is in the 8th house: your hobbies involve occult topics, such as astrology, tarots, horror etc. you probably also love spending your spare time by yourself. you’re quite of a loner, from this point of view, and you may possibly feel sad about it.
your 6th house is scorpio, with mars placed here as well. you may be passionate about routine, self-care, health and work, to the point that it looks (and feels) obsessive. you may attract enemies in your daily life, e.g co-workers that are jealous of your ambition. you might have to undergo different changes in your routine and health throughout your life, which can literally transform you both physically and emotionally. mars here makes you extremely hard-working and effecient, especially combined with your capricorn energy. you are a precise person who always strives to be the best at everything you do. the ruler of the 6th house is in the 7th house: you may come in contact with people very often in your day-to-day life. you may have a job that requires social interactions, for instance, or perhaps you're just the type to spend and enjoy time around others. possibly, you could even find yourself dating your co-workers, and you may actually marry someone from your workplace.
your 7th house is in sagittarius, with also pluto tightly conjunct the descendant. you want your marriage to be a constant travel for you, in which you can both relax and learn. you want to marry a witty and impulsive partner, that is also fun to live with. you may often find yourself falling for unavailable people, either physically or emotionally (or even both). pluto here can make things a bit complicated, though. in fact, pluto in the 7th house indicates that you may have a turbulent marriage, you may often fight with your spouse. in the worst case, this could even escalate as physical violence, not only verbal. there could also be lots of power struggles and competitiveness, you feel as if you always the need to be superior to feel secure, and this could interfer in your relationships. of course, this doesn't have to be 100% accurate, you have lots of easy aspects in your chart, but I'd keep that in mind if I were in you. the fact that jupiter, the ruler of this house, is in the 12th house, indicates that you may actually dream about your future spouse, or just about your lovers and people that surround you in general. actually, you may even have a connection with your spouse, you could've already met in another lifetime and therefore you two are soulmates.
your 8th house is in sagittarius, and the sun and mercury are also placed here. you’re very curious when it comes to taboo topics, you like learning about them, especially with also mercury being in this house. you’re probably into conspiracy theories, as well as matters like astrology, tarots, horror, tragedies, violence… you’re most likely interested in them, and you may work in a field related to these topics, for example you may become a criminologist, a detective, a psychologist etc. you could also experience lots of karma in your life; that is, if you’re mean to someone, then others will be mean to you too. try to always do your best, the universe will surely appreciate that. you could have strong feelings, but you probably struggle to let them all out. you may particularly good at public-speaking, but actually you’re overall quite secretive, you don’t mind being by yourself. the good thing about 8th house is that, while you suffer, you also transform and grow up to learn from your mistakes. therefore, having an 8th house stellium isn’t a curse like other astrologers say. the ruler of the 8th house is in the 12th house: your self-growth process happens when you’re able to stay by yourself and explore your own mind, you probably think a lot. you also love learning about psychology in general, spirituality, etc. actually, you may even be skilled at reading tarots, birth charts, or at least you have the potential to be good at it.
your 9th house is in capricorn, with also uranus and neptune sitting there. you have a pragmatic approach to philosophy, school and experiences in general. for example, you may be the type to plan every day of a travel. at school, you were probably the type to prefer more logical subjects, but I assume that you were good at all of them. you’re most likely extremely curious about anything the world has to offer. you want to make new experiences and adventures, you want to find out anything about other cultures, places, etc. to open your mind and gain some new knowledge. you probably love travelling, and you may have quite a few dream destinations to visit. the 9th house is also about higher education, and hence you’re probably successful at school. you most likely enjoy studying, and you could get more than one degree actually. or perhaps, you got to study different subjects before choosing your final university, you were quite indecisive at first. neptune is also placed in this house, while the ruler of the 9th house is placed in the 12th, enhancing this energy. you may be a very creative and imaginative individual, you could daydream very often and you tend to literally 'travel' with your mind. you may even be a good writer, you may like reading fantasy books or perhaps you're goot at writing that genre. you could also be fascinated by abroad lands, you may see them as a dream in your eyes.
your 10th house is in aquarius with also your venus placed there. you want to stand out from the crowd, you strive to establish your own morals and beliefs. you don’t want to conform to anything and anyone, as you’re a trend-setter and you want to be seen as such. you’d rather have a job where you can handle your work yourself, rather than having a boss. in fact, aquarius in this house makes you extremely resolute and motivated to achieve your goals and be independent. you may not be much interested in love, and if you are, you don’t overlook career either. having a stable and successful future that makes you happy is the key for happiness in your life. it could take you some time at first to be recognized for your efforts. you may easily experience 'almost-winner’ situation, and hence you could often make silly mistakes that ruin your work. it’s important to be focused when working, especially for you. yet, once you know how to balance this tricky energy and get your stuff together, you'll earn a reputation for being an innovative and original person. you may be quite artistic, creative and emotional, you'll probably focus your life on self-expression. venus in this house is another placement that indicates that you may often date people from your work place, or maybe even people older than you. also, since venus is your most elevated planet, your life probably revolves around love, as well as creativity. in fact, your career could possibly involve beauty, like fashion, make-up, etc. or maybe arts. you could be a singer, a writer... you would also do particularly well at politics or law.
your 11th house is in pisces, with also your moon sitting there. you probably had problems with your friendships in your early years. you could have been too shy to approach people, hence you struggled to befriend them. or maybe, you used to gossip around, and that led you to lose them. or perhaps, you’re too work-oriented to find some spare time to hang out with others, and hence you end up losing your bond with them. in the best case, you may have quite spiritual / religious friends, or perhaps they’re your soulmates, they were a part of your past life. you have this habit of idealizing them a bit; that is, you may be too picky in choosing your friends. you’re probably looking for the type of friend that’d literally throw themselves under a car to save you, but it’s hard to actually find someone like that. open up more and accept others as they are. you don’t necessarily need to be with them for a long time, but make sure to learn your lessons from them. it’s what your life revolves around, after all. the moon here makes you care a lot about your friends; even though you may argue a bit, their presence in your life is still very fundamental for you, they're most likely the ones to bring fun and adventure in your life. we could say that they literally feel like home to you, you feel completely comfortable with them, and you may even have lots of childhood friends. with the ruler of the 11th house being in the 9th house, you may have friends that live far away from you, maybe even abroad, and that have a different cultural background from you. you may also have long-term goals related to the abroad, you may want to learn another language or travel around the world. perhaps, you may even want to go live abroad, or at least you strive to learn as much as you can about the world.
lastly, your 12th house is in the sign of taurus. you’re secretly sensitive and affectionate, but you may have issues finding it out at first. in fact, the center of your life is your own intellectuality, these venusian traits are probably yet to develop. you may feel attracted to spirituality, but you’re quite lazy to actually dive into it, as your jupiter and saturn conjunction suggests. you’re quite secretive, but maybe because you don’t know how to get in touch with your feelings. using tools like meditation, astrology etc. are important for you to understand what you truly need from life. luckily, I assume that you're already working on getting more in touch with your higher self, otherwise you wouldn't have booked a reading. anyways, spirituality for you is particularly important; in fact, with this saturn and jupiter influence, all you need to do is work hard for yourself, as much as you work for others. the universe is going to pay you back. plus, I assume that manifestation and law of attractions work particularly well for you, I'd definitely try that out. your 12th house’s ruler is in the 10th house: getting in touch with your hidden, subconscious and higher self will be crucial to help you grow up and gain success. you may be interested in topics like astrology, psychology etc. most likely to get to know yourself, but your chart points out that you could easily turn these hobbies into a job! or perhaps, you may have a reputation for being secretive, you may not say much about yourself in professional relationships.
❤️ love life, soulmates
in love, you attract sagittarius, virgo, libra, scorpio, pisces and aries placements. your future spouse may also have sagittarius/scorpio energy, maybe a sagittarius - scorpio cusp. you need someone who’s adventurous, funny, outgoing and witty, that can also stand up for themselves with no hesitation. you’re also into the magnetic, sexy type. you’re looking for someone independent, but that wouldn’t mind dedicating their time to you. you may feel unlucky in love, as your sagittarius descendant makes you attract people that are usually unavailable, whether it’s physically (they’re abroad) or emotionally. you may marry someone of a different culture/country/religion from yours. you may also meet and marry abroad. you may meet through your family, or maybe at your workplace as I’ve already mentioned before. they could also be someone you already know, probably from your childhood. your children will most probably have very prominent mercurian energy, hence gemini or virgo, or maybe they could also have leo or cancer placements; they’ll love to be spoiled with affection, they’ll love material things like toys, food, clothes etc. but they’ll also be very smart and creative.
👶🏻 family life
your mother is probably very hard-working, and she has a strong role in your family. she loves being spoiled and appreciated, together with receiving attention. yet, she could sometimes be quite superficial because of that, but deep down she's very romantic and mannered. she may have leo placements, or any fire / 5th house placement in general. your father is a bit colder than your mother, and he might be an aquarius or have any type of air/capricorn placement in his chart. your father could be a bit moody and / or unpredictable, and he may also have some addictions in the worst case. yet, he also has a very sweet and romantic side to him that he may struggle to let out. he could possibly also have taurus placements. if you have siblings, they’re probably cancers/ water signs. if you’re the elder sibling, you probably used to take care of them to help your mother. on the other hand, if you’re younger, then your siblings were the ones who nurtured you with your parents.
📊 career
as I’ve already mentioned above, you could work abroad, or at least with different languages/cultures. you’re probably naturally talented in this field, it would be a shame to overlook it. you also most likely have great communication skills and writing abilities. you’re very logical and precise, you’d definitely do well in a field that requires calm and organization. I can also picture you being an amazing teacher or even professor. based on your other placements, you could also do well at literally any creative career! you may be a dancer, a singer, or even something more complex like a creative director. in fact, with your aquarius midheaven, I feel like you'd rather be in charge in your job rather than be submissed to a boss. you’re very intuitive and observant, but also logical and rational. otherwise, you could also be successful as a designer, an architect, a scientist… something that allows you to be mostly independent, but that can still guarantee you mental stimulation and a decent income, and that also allows you to use your creative uranian energy.
👕 fashion sense, style analysis
you love wearing comfy, even over-sized fits, but that still look stylish and modern. for example, you may be fond of wide leg trousers, oversized t-shirts or sweatshirts... for the colors, you may fancy pastel colors, especially different shades of blue, or even just natural colors, such as white, beige, kaki etc. you may also like wearing baby/pastel colors, and you may experiment a lot with accessories. you may wear lots of bracelets.
👁 past life, life purpose
during your past life, you probably didn’t have as many challenges as in this life. you most likely used to depend on someone else; perhaps, you married someone rich, hence you didn’t really have to work for your resources. this lifetime, you need to step up your game and become independent. your path to luck and abundance may be long and steep, but your venus being conjunct the north node indicates that you may achieve great personal success in this lifetime. you just need to work on your self-esteem and have stable finances, you shouldn’t over-indulge. to boost your security, you could try using loa, as well as the advices I gave you above.
🤔 major transits analysis, december 25th
in the last few months, you could have had (and you may still have) problems with your friends, as mars and chiron, two malefics, are both transiting your 11th house. you may argue and discuss often, or perhaps you even lost a few friend during this span of time. also, since your natal pluto is conjunct your transit venus, you may feel particularly moody in these days. it could be that you're starting to crave love or communicating in general in the first place, but in addition you also feel the need to change. you may feel very intense emotions, but at least you have a stronger will-power, therefore your manifestations may come true quicker for instance. just be careful not to stress yourself by being too bossy or suspicious.
🧿 manifest what you want, secret skills
your secret skills revolve around finances and just security in general. with a positive attitude, you may attract material luck: money, clothes, houses… everything that you desire. since you’re a logical person, I assume the most efficient way for you to manifest through the LOA is writing! take a notebook and just write down positive affirmations, such as 'I have the car of my dreams’ etc. you may also write them on post-its and glue them around your house, so that you can accelerate the progress. you can also try to idealize your wish before trying to manifest it. for example, if you want a new sweatshirt, try to imagine yourself wearing it. you could also go into a shop and actually try that sweatshirt it on; being in contact with it will boost the law of attraction even more.
this is the end! thank you again for booking a reading, let me know if you have any questions :) - libramc xx

it cannot wait, I'm yours.
Day 1 of @buddiefirstkissweek
Prompt: Related to Pride
Read on AO3
Despite living there for several years, Buck had never actually attended L.A pride. He usually flew to New York City to celebrate with friends there. However, with T.K. being in Austin, they had agreed to go to each other’s Prides together. The only issue was T.K. couldn’t get off until the second day, and Buck didn’t exactly want to go alone. His first choice would have been Hen, but she got stuck working as well. He realized that he needed more friends than just his co-workers as he scrolled through his phone trying to figure out who to call. He could ask Maddie, but she would probably spend the whole time trying to find a cute guy for him to date. He loved the support, but sometimes he didn’t need to be reminded he was single when all his other friends had a significant other.
He thought about texting Michael, but they had talked last time he was over at the Grant-Nash household, and Michael was going with his new boyfriend. Buck was ecstatic that Michael finally found a boyfriend. It was about time. He deserved it. If Buck was his type, Buck for sure would have tried to date him.
Wait, Josh was single and gay. He was probably going to pride, and likely wouldn’t want to go alone either. Perfect solution. He sent a text off and got a quick response before going to get changed. Normally Buck dressed pretty conservatively, but this was the one time a year he really let himself go all out. He put on his crop top that said ‘if you play for both teams you always win.’ It was probably his favourite shirt, he loved the slogan. He basically worked out for a living, and he was glad that crop tops highlighted that. He threw on his ripped jeans that were just on the right side of too tight, and had one rip that went a little too far up his thigh. He was lacing up his pride Dr. Martens when he heard a knock on the door.
“So glad you could make it.” Buck pulled Josh into a hug. It was a bit of a surprise at first how well the two got along. They even went out on a date together before realizing they were better off friends. The teasing they would have gotten from Maddie would have been unbearable if it had actually worked out.
“I’m just happy I have someone to go with now. I brought the face paints!” Josh immediately grabbed one of Buck’s kitchen chairs and pushed him down into it. Josh was already sporting a gay flag painted under his eye, and he clearly had plans to put on on Buck as well. “I know you care about your hair, but really I think we need some glitter in it. It’s the spray kind that comes out easy I swear.”
Buck rolled his eyes but sat still while he got a bisexual pride flag painted under his right eye. “You can do the glitter, but I’m showering at your place. I’m not trying to deal with clogged pipes because of it.”
“Fair deal. We better get going, or we won’t ever be able to get an Uber downtown.”
******
L.A. Pride was somehow exactly like NYC Pride, and completely different. All the elements of pride were there. The drag queens who were performing up a storm, the baby gays who it was clear this was their first pride, and those who had been going to prides longer than Buck had been alive. There were definitely more west coast vibes to it. Either way, Buck was thrilled to be at Pride, and happy to have a friend along with him.
The two wandered through the marketplace, stopping every now and then to buy a couple of items. The two spent a couple of minutes laughing when they found the LAFD calendar, except they were able to get any face photoshopped on all the firefighters. They got one with a photo of Chim sneezing on it for Maddie’s birthday. It was even better because it actually had Chim in it. There were some advantages to Buck not having won that year. Josh saw a lesbian couple from work, and dragged Buck over there to introduce him to them. Buck was known for both being Maddie’s younger brother, but also the firefighter whose name got mentioned more than it probably should have been. His dumbass heroics got him far more recognition than they should have been.
Buck saw a familiar face in the crowd, and they made eye contact before they turned away. He let Josh know he was going to talk to them. He knew Josh would be safe with his friends for the moment.
“Now Athena, I know you’re not just going to ignore me like that.” Buck jokingly called out to her.
“I wish I could say I was ignoring you, but I owe Hen money unfortunately. You just had to get a boyfriend.” Athena sounded almost disappointed,
“What Josh? No we aren’t dating, we’re just here as friends. Actually, you’ve met him before I think. He works with Maddie.” Buck wasn’t offended about the fact she thought he and Josh were dating, he didn’t like the thought of the bet. “Any other important bets going on about my life?”
Athena had the decency to look a little ashamed. “Well there was a bet about whether or not you had a secret boyfriend. Hen said yes, I said no. Mainly because you would have told Maddie, who would have accidentally told Chim, who would have immediately texted Hen, who would have shown up at my house with a bottle of wine to gossip. We all know secrets don’t exist in the family.”
Buck knew she had a point. Secrets didn’t exist, and because of that betting run rampant. Hell, he had won $50 on the bet of when Micheal was going to announce his new boyfriend. “How much do you have on it, because I’m willing to lie to split the winnings. Hen deserves some payback after how often she keeps winning.” Buck was never above a small lie. He could just say they broke up in a week because it wasn’t working out.
“$200. Go collect your fake boyfriend over there and we’ll go find the 118. They’ve got a tent set up to hand out water.” Athena nodded her head towards Josh.
Buck didn’t think that they would actually be there. It wasn’t that he was ashamed of being bi, but he had never officially come out to the 118. Hen knew because they ran into each other at a gay bar, and Athena knew because she got called to pick them up when they were too drunk to drive. “Alright yeah, I can drop all my stuff off there too. They’re all going to be too scared to look through the bags.” Even though there was nothing bad in them, the fire fam was going to assume there was.
Buck walked back to Josh and explained what was going on. Buck owed Josh an expensive bottle of wine for it, but he was totally down to mess with the 118. The wine was to placate him from any of the text Maddie would send him after Chim texted her. On the way over they all chatted. Buck agreed to bring May with him on the second day. Athena wanted her to go with someone who was more responsible, but also not afraid to throw a punch. May was like a little sister to him, and Buck was fully ready to square up for her. Plus, T.K. and his new boyfriend would defend her too. Actually, based on what he had heard about Carlos, he would get along with Athena. Buck made a note to introduce the two. As they got closer to the tent, Buck put his arm around Josh’s waist. With Buck being such a tactile guy, it wasn’t the first time he had held Josh like this. He allowed himself to be more touchy feely with Josh because he knew the other was okay with it.
“Hey guys, this is Josh. He’s an operator with Maddie. I’m sure you’ve heard his lovely voice on the phone a few times.” Buck spoke to the 118 with a grin on his face. He could feel the fact that all eyes were on him. Hen scowled at him and then Athena. She pulled out her wallet to pay up.
Buck leaned down to talk to Josh, and softened his voice to talk. “Why don’t you go talk to Chim about Maddie’s surprise stories. I’ll deal with all the questions.” There was zero reason for him to do that, other than to sell the idea. Buck had big plans for that $100.
Josh walked over to Chim, and pulled him aside as the rest of the 118 descended on Buck.
“Listen Buck, not that I’m not proud of you for this, but you really had to wear your best outfit the day I’m not with you?” There was no actual malice behind Hen’s voice. She had made teasing Buck into an art form.
“Hen this is a go big or go home event, and I certainly wasn’t going to go home.” Buck gave her one of his patented golden retriever smiles, before he pulled a small enamel lesbian flag pin out of his pocket and held it out to her. “I got you a present to make it up to you at least. Figured you could wear it while you work to show support.”
Hen took the pin, seeming to accept the apology gift. She walked over to Athena, the two already starting to gossip.
Bobby cleared his throat. “So Buck, you know you could have told us before. We would have supported you.” He was clearly into his dad mode, trying to approach the situation delicately.
“I mean you never came out as straight to the station. I’ve told you about people I’ve gone on dates with. If you assumed Jordan, Addison, and Kennedy were girls, that's on you.” Buck viewed Bobby as a father, but sometimes he was very much a straight cis man. They were working on changing his set views. But he supported them all and that was what mattered the most to them.
“Buck, can we talk, over there. It cannot wait.” Eddie’s voice was tense, and Buck didn’t like how it had sounded. Buck nodded and followed him, not trusting any words that would come out of his mouth. Buck was fine with Hen, he figured he would be fine with Buck being bisexual. There was a chance Eddie was one of those people who just thought bisexuals were just greedy and needed to make their mind up. He hadn’t been prepared to lose Eddie as a friend, not over something like this. Having Chim and Bobby know made him feel like a weight was lifted off his chest, but Eddie’s reaction made it all come crashing back down. The two walked behind the ambulance, where they were out of view from the public. There was just a couple of photographers hanging out in their event tent.
“You’re not actually dating Josh, are you?” Eddie crossed his arms, taking a defensive stance.
“Why does it matter to you? If you can’t accept me having a boyfriend then we are going to have bigger problems than who I’m dating.”
“You told me you were single at movie night last week.” Eddie sounded exasperated, and Buck was really confused as to why.
“Fine, Josh and I aren’t dating, but we tried at one point. We’re better friends, but that doesn’t mean I’m not still bi. I’ve dated plenty of guys since we’ve been friends, it just hasn’t worked out.” They were friends, Buck was going to be honest with Eddie. Well, mostly honest. If Eddie asked if Buck had a crush on him, Buck was going to deny it. He didn’t think Eddie would be the kind of straight guy who would get all weird about Buck’s crush, but then again he didn’t think Eddie was biphobic either.
“Good, because I can’t see you with a boyfriend...” Eddie seemed to have calmed down, and a realization had swept over him. His face looked a lot softer, it was a look Buck had seen many times but was never really sure what it meant. Buck anger was going in the opposite direction. He took a step back.
Buck didn’t bother to let Eddie finish before he cut him off. “Listen, if you’ve got such a problem with me dating another guy, then you should transfer stations. I’m not going to hide a part of me because it’s not something you like.” His words were harsh, but he kept his voice down. He didn’t want any yelling to attract the others. Buck started to walk away when he felt Eddie grab his wrist and pull him back so they were face to face.
“Evan, You didn’t let me finish. I can’t see you with a boyfriend that isn’t me. If I had known you liked guys, I would have done this sooner.” Buck was shocked by the statement, but even more shocked by what came next.
Eddie leaned up and kissed Buck.
Buck did not in a million years see Eddie returning his feelings. Buck felt Eddie start to pull back, and he knew the older man was overthinking things the same way he was. Buck brought his hands up to cup Eddie’s cheeks, and pulled him back in. He could overthink this later, for now he was going to enjoy kissing Eddie. Finally it didn’t have to be something of his dreams anymore. He felt Eddie’s hands come to rest on his waist. Buck had every intention of deepening the kiss, but when he moved to get closer, he managed to slip. Thankfully, Eddie managed to catch him before he completely fell on his back.
They had been pulled apart by the fall, but they rested their foreheads together.
“We should talk about this…” Buck started to say.
“We’ll have plenty of time to talk later, I got months of kissing to make up for.” Eddie leaned down, kissing Buck with far more passion this time. He wasn’t worried about being rejected.
Eventually Buck fully got back up to his feet, but not before a photographer had snapped a photo of the two.
******
Buck promised to drop Eddie off at the station the next morning, so he wouldn’t have to ensure the teasing alone. They didn’t have to walk far into the station before the teasing started.
Hanging from the balcony was a blown up photo of the two of them kissing. Buck had seen the photo posted all over last night. Out of context, it looked like Eddie had dipped Buck, not that Buck had just been clumsy first. He knew there were comparisons to the soldier celebrating V-J day, and the navy soldier getting his homecoming kiss. The photo was heralded as one of the defining photos of pride that year. Would Buck have liked their first kiss to be a little more private, sure, but it wouldn’t have been true to the way his life had gone so far. The teasing would be worth it, especially since he got Eddie out of the deal.
“They’re all just jealous Eds, just remember. I’m yours.”

I was watching MangaKamen’s video deconstructing Cvit’s Persona 5: Style Over Substance video and I...I just couldn’t watch it. Basically, Kamen’s own videos on RWBY and Cvit’s Persona 5 video are way too similar (in that both make logical fallacies just to avoid their assumptions.) So, despite covering this briefly, I’ll do it in full here.
And if MangaKamen himself sees this: You can’t keep responding to people, criticizing them for stuff that you do yourself. I literally couldn’t listen to your video on Cvit because of the hypocrisy. Stick to your own standards: people respect you more for it.
P.S. Don’t create a circlejerk in the reblogs and replies. I do not have the patience for it today.
Before I begin, I should point out a small bit of hypocrisy. In his “Cvit Doesn’t Understand Video”, he complains about an influx of videos all about going into unnecessary details about how X things suck, calling it the ‘Joseph Anderson effect.’ I bring this up because one of the videos he brings up is The Cosmonaut Variety Hour’s video on Kingdom Hearts (which is, being generous, 22 minutes.) MangaKamen’s video is, again generously, 38 minutes. And I do mean generaously because I automatically rounded up Cosmonaut’s and rounded down Kamen’s videos. I don’t think he should be complaining about that.
While you could argue he was also complaining about the title as well: A. Kamen’s first RWBY video was literally titled “Whats Wrong With RWBY?!” with a title saying “Here’s why RWBY Sucks” in big bold letters. B. His video makes fun of people who are there to disagree with his title and nothing else and C. I watched Cosmonaut’s video on Kingdom Hearts: He’s actually more positive towards Kingdom hearts 3 than Kamen is to RWBY.
This is a small microcosism of he issue with his hypocrisy: it ends up affecting the quality of other videos too.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His first section is on ‘contrivances’ or ‘things that happen in a story that don’t make sense’. Before he even gives a true example, we run into yet another problem with Kamen. In his explanation, Kamen mocks the scene were Jaune gets hit on by the mothers of the kids he’s helping with an image of Miles Luna saying ‘Remember, NOT a self-insert!’.
Issue? The episode wasn’t written by Miles Luna, it was written by Eddy Rivas. How do I know?
The episode says so. This is especially egregious because he chews Cvit out for just typing in “Persona 5 sucks” into google and saying a certain source popped up...and yet typing in “Miles Luna Jaune Arc Self Insert” would actually bring up something that outright shows Miles is self conscious about Jaune to the point of avoiding his scenes (https://www.reddit.com/r/RWBY/comments/7x3w4s/crwby_ama_w_miles_luna_kerry_shawcross_and_paula/du5dnc6/?context=3). So while Cvit may have been looking for evidence instead of thinking critically: he at least took the effort of doing a search result whereas Kamen probably made an on the spot decision with no sources whatsoever. Combine this with the fact this is not the first time he’s taken potshots at Miles and you have an effectively WORSE version of what he says Cvit did.
“But this is just a joke!” Yeah, and Sham-Amon was a joke about M. Night Shamalyan by Doug Walker. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t an insult and was correct (Shamalyan was actually a reason why the Airbender movie even RESEMBLED the cartoon.) That doesn’t make this okay, especially since I know a similar ‘joke’ towards someone he’s a fan of would get you a video made on you.
Now onto one of his examples: He says it makes no sense for Robyn to be allowed to run for Atlas’ council because ‘she is stealing supplies from the government.’ Issue is: judging by the footage he’s using, he’s talking about Volume 7 Episode 5 “Sparks” where Robyn created a blockade and stopped a supply truck Qrow, Clover, Penny and Ruby were on. She never actually makes a move to steal the supplies in the episode though. While you could argue it wwas implied because she had people behind them hiding behind camoflague-
In his Cvit video, he criticized the guy for saying that we don’t know how long Futaba’s friend was abused by her parents when Cvit makes the argument that the friend was abused for over a decade, never entertaining other possibilities. You know, what he does. (P.S. Sparks is the same episode with the Jaune-Mothers ‘joke’.)
He uses this faulty and hypocritical point to jump off into how it would be a bad look for her to steal from the government even if it was for a good cause and that most government prevent people from running because of this. See, not only is this still based on a point even Kamen would argue is not enough- The context in the scene (that Mantle hates Atlas government and Robyn’s platform is based off that discontent...Huh) would show that even if she was stealing, it would HELP her image. As for the ‘governments prevent people convicted of theft for running for office’- She hasn’t stolen anything yet STILL. Also, in his Cvit video, he complains about a point where Cvit’s source edited out preceding text to make the phrasing of a certain textbox look extremely awkward. So again, hypocrisy.
Then we have...another shitty joke. A really bad one too. It’s the scene with Weiss and Winter talking the training room with the audio taken out and speech bubbles that say ‘Why are we just staring at each other?’ ‘I dunno...just to look cool?’. Not only is this blatantly not what is happening (you can tell their heads are bobbing from talking), I literally cannot take this ‘joke’ any other way than a malicious potshot at the show. It doesn’t function any other way. I’m trying to be calm and concise but this stuff really harms any benefit of doubt I can give.
His next point is-Oh god damnit, the fucking Penny frame up AGAIN. You know what is more frustrating than a shitty point? A shitty point repeated ad nauseum. Before Kamen even made this video, I had already argued every single perspective of this. There’s literally nothing new he can give?
Security? We never see how Tyrian got in and considering his immense agility and stealth: he could snuck in or hid in the warehouse.
Fanaus night vision? Not all Fanaus have night vision and most of the crowd was seen trying to rush out of the warehouse (during a scene Kamen shows no less). He also says the show alludes to Atlas being a racially biased system...even though Jacques Schnee says he pays all his workers equally (AKA he treats all his workers like shit.)
Scrolls? Again, most of the people are shown trying to run away and no one who remains is said to have brought their scrolls.
Break in the argument for a smug laugh even though all he’s done is repeat other people’s failed arguments. (Issue with either being bitch basic with your arguments or copying others? I’ll have fought the issue long before you make it.)
Ends with saying “When the lights come back on, there’s no blood on Penny’s blades!” (Cognitive bias against Atlas. Like say, calling a character a self insert over a scene that wasn’t written by the person.)
He goes onto say that this is just the latest example of contrived writing but because his points are all faulty, it doesn’t come across as contrived: it comes across as normal but Kamen is too focused on making everything look as bad as possible.
“But what about Robyn’s Semblance?!”
I dunno, why do people say that the Covington Catholic kids are still racist when we have proof otherwise? Cognitive bias is a thing. Robyn wouldn’t try testing this (even assuming she COULD since it would be logical Penny just ran off after this in fear) because it al ready confirms her own biases.
His whole temper tantrum here is all based on around pure logic...something he himself has argued against in media. This thing goes on and on and it just test my paitence and gives me more and more reason to assume Kamen isn’t just missing info, he’s indulging in willful ignorance.
Then we have him bitching about Yang and Blake telling Robyn what is going on and how it’s contrived that they would think that Robyn was on their side since she hasn’t done anything good. Issue? This is all based on KAMEN’S perspective. A perspective that, at best, is heavily biased against Robyn.
Thing is, Robyn’s thefts (which began AFTER he said they did) were to help repair the break in Mantle’s wall protecting them from the Grimm, something Team RWBY agrees with. Of course they’d assume Robyn is a good guy since she’s acting in the interests of the people, something they do as well. Robyn’s only bad when you completely ignore how James brushes over the current struggles of the people is elected to protect and serve in order for his bigger picture, a method they don’t agree with. Something the show is showing isn’t a good idea as people see him as uncaring and unfeeling to their struggles.
“But Ironwood has been helping them!”
Cool. That has nothing to do with him alienating his own allies through his paranoia, causing Yang and Blake try and make peace with Robyn themselves. There’s also the fact that the team should be opposing this. After all, it’s the same thing Ozpin did to them and they chewed him out over it. And unlike with the lying to Ironwood, there would be no hints that this hypocrisy would be intended by the showrunners. So Kamen is literally advocating for bad writing here.
This was added in post edit by the way so the man literally shoved in a point that does nothing but push the theory he is biased without ever considering what is necessary in the show. Even though he demands it from others. It’s really inconsistent. Dare I say...the standards are contrived?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next is the ‘design work’ part. He’s says this is gonna be positive for a moment and it does lack his usual malice. Doesn’t mean it’s good.
He criticizes the designs of the main cast besides Ruby. He says that Blake’s design now emphasizes the color white despite supposedly being black before. Issue is that her alternate Vol.2 and Vol.4 designs also emphasized the color white and her original design has equal part black and white. Weiss’s is supposedly that her dark blue dominates her design and is too busy to be elegant. Issue is that it’s only on the jacket and it’s mostly the same color as her previous design (even having more white.) As for being elegant: I could definitely argue it goes for a military-esque elegance. And Yang is...too brown? Uh...her original outfit was dominated by being brown.
He praises Ruby’s for still having it’s red coloring but...it’s too red. Her original design was actually closer to being goth than Blake’s and was mostly black with bright red frills and her signature cloak. And her hair has drastically changed, like he complained about with Blake. He really shouldn’t be giving Ruby a pass here.
I have nothing to say about his point ‘they’re all too busy.’ I feel like any side I take will be too heavily influenced by my own feelings at this point.
He complains about the logic behind the long fabrics being easy to grab onto and says that because they justified the new outfits with ‘it’s cold’ they should listen here. Issue- Not only are these two different trains of logic but by his own arguments, he should be arguing for all of them to wear white and wear bulky armor since that’s logical as well, following his logic. He doesn’t set what the limit should be.
Honestly this whole part is just kind of fluff. A lot of nothing was said and kind of feels like it was put in just to make the argument ‘Well I said something nice about RWBY!’
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next up is ‘consistency’. ... Oh god.
“Aura was rewritten!’ He never cites what happened here but I know this dance so well I could get paid for it. Aura has always been a thing you needed to activate, back in Volume 1 where Jaune was cut by a branch and Pyrrha said ‘why don’t you use your aura?’. The supposed inconsistency comes from WOR: Aura saying it was passive even though certain definitions and uses of passive work under these examples. He also says that people cant use their Semblances when they run out of Aura but they still do, citing that old example of Yang’s Aura flickering in her character short. Flickering, not breaking. Meaning she still has Aura.
He also adds in that point about the WOR Atlas saying that the cold of Solitas killed the Grimm. While they are depicted as freezing here, it should be noted that the Grimm have been known to evolve and adapt. Meaning they could have easily evolved to withstand the cold. Again, editing out context which he says is bad.
“Hey, Miles. Kerry. You ever gonna acknowledge what you showed in the World of Remnant again these days?”
Dunno, are you ever gonna acknowledge what you say in your own videos? Glass houses Kamen.
I also find it funny that he calls out the ‘it’s just a cartoon!’ thing out of nowhere on a tangent even as he previously blocked me over this. Apparently contrivance is okay if it can be used as a shield. And if he has a problem with this, look over your videos not even just the RWBY ones You have said harsher- deal with it.
He goes onto criticize the argument of not all Fanaus have night vision because of specific moments...with Blake and Sun, only two Fanaus. In fact, the first example has him say that Blake and Sun used their night vision to escape a White Fang meeting. ... White Fang. Fanaus. He’s trying to argue that this is a case of Blake and Sun having night vision to contrast when she apparently ‘doesn’t’ but never notices that his own argument kind of confirms what the show said.
Then we have his other example of Blake against Illa were she couldn’t see Illa. A chameleon Fanaus. With camoflague. Where lighting up the room would alter how the colors look to see her more easily. ....
This whole point was about how the show doesn’t give strict rules to the Fanaus night vision, even though other shows with more fundamental powers (as in, the thing their premise is based on) bend these rules (like MHA with so many Quirks not being related to their physiology or Jojo bending every single Stand rule) for their plot. This isn’t directly bad as he says it is and he never emphasizes why anyone should care other than the strawman of ‘STRICT RULES!’ even as his own favorites don’t follow that.
He also says there’s no repercussions for the Penny cover up since he says it was to cause a riot to attract the Grimm but the Grimm disappear and people are being arrested for their rioting in the next episode. ... The Grimm don’t invade until Episode 9. He’s talking about Episode 7. The arrest was for breaking curfew that Ironwood imposed afterwards to due the discontent from Jacques winning. Then we have the fact that Penny’s frame up leads to Robyn actually stealing supplies, which leads to Yang and Blake telling her about Amity, which leads to Ironwood’s paranoia taking over. So you know...kind of some of the biggest repercussions in the show.
I also remember he said it was to frame Penny in his contriavances section...which makes no sense if it was meant to cause a riot directly afterward. In trying to callout inconsistencies that don’t exist, he became inconsistent himself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next part is “Don’t Show, Never Show”. .... How professional.
He begins by bitching at other people for misrepresenting his arguments about the Fanaus and how their oppression isn’t well shown. ... After he’s personally attacked the creators over a subject one of them is innocent and self conscious of and will mock that person for mocking his critics. Classy.
“Jacques is Orange Man bad stand-in-”
A. He never mentions anything about securing Atlas’ borders and in fact wants to OPEN them.
B. He’s never talked about making Atlas great or appealing to any sort of false patriotism.
C. He opposes the military whereas Trump supports them.
D. He has no slogans for his campaign, especially none like Trump’s/
E. He isn’t colluding with foreign powers aside from a generic bad guy orgnazation with no connections to the countries Trump is accused of.
F. Jacques being a slimy business man was made before Trump came into the presidency.
And G. Robyn Hill only connections to Hilarily Clinton is a gender and half a name (a name that is actually rather common in real life). In fact, considering her position is all about distrust in the government and appealing to the common man- She’s a closer stand in for TRUMP than Hilarlily.
Again, argument’s been made a thousand times, beaten it a thousand times.
His overall point is that Jacques is said to be a terrible parent but not shown, using the line from “This Life is Mine” ( Amazing how you conquered me, Chained me in servility) before going on to say that he ‘let her go to a different school’ (he was forced to), ‘Do whatever she wants so long as it doesn’t affect his business and reputation’ (contradicted by cutting her off, trying to limit her actions because of her ignoring his calls even though that does not affect his business or reputation), ‘spending his money at Beacon until she ignores his calls’ (finical abuse 101) and ‘she embarrassed him at a party by assaulting one of the guests.’
... The woman was outright mocking the people she knew, the ‘assault’ was an accidental summon, Jacques was trying to prevent her from just getting away from him, Jacques pressured her into singing for him despite her discomfort and never once tries to talk to his daughter like a person or calm her down, instead trying to silence her. All of THIS without getting his physical intimidation of grabbing her and slapping her, which is what Kamen strawmans the response being. Also ignoring what he did AFTER the slap, effectively trapping her in her room and spreading the idea she was unstable to save his image.
No amount of money matters here, ignoring once again that he tried withholding it once she acted outside what he wanted. That is the ‘chains of servility’ and I know you wouldn’t argue this outside RWBY. You’d be calling this ignorant beyond acception, Kamen.
“The worst examples of Jacques’ abuse happen outside the-”
Jacques’ worst abuse was being trapped in her own room for calling out the callousness of people smack talking a tragedy she went through. This is effectively mocking a war in front of a veteran then locking them in the basement while telling everyone they’re coocoo. That is in the show, stop trying to blame other materials THAT DO NOT EXIST just to appeal to a common compliant (about supplemental materials in RWBY).
“Well Winter abuses Weiss!”
So let me get this straight. A small smack on the back of the head before asking about her personal life to show she cares about Weiss (another example of cutting context) is at all comparable to abuse of parental power, controlling Weiss like a puppet and locking her up? What was your definition of contrivance and consistency again?
“Can I go off on a tangent?”
No. You have not earned that right. You have far exceeded any patience I should have given you. The fact I am STILL HERE is too much and I should just throw the rest of the video in that garbage dumb your delusion of the writing is. But I will STILL give you chance.
P.S. You use HBomberguy as an example? Even though one of the videos you chewed out in your Persona video (’Steven Universe is Garbage and Here’s Why’) is BASED OFF his work? So what? His hours long shit talking is okay? And no, this is not
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His next segment is titled ... “Okay What Is This Shit I’m Actually Cratching My Head I’m So Dumbfounded And Confused AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
... You misspelled “Scratching”.
He says the Grimm Attack after Robyn’s failed election was handled off screen. That never existed and the Grimm attacked THREE EPISODE LATER and is handled on screen.
He says that Jacques being arrested makes no sense because Watts can control technology and should have used it disable the security cameras in the Schnee Manor. As he outright says, Willow hid those cameras and Watts HACKS technology and cannot hack what he DOES NOT KNOW EXISTS. It’s outright said BY THE SHOW and SHOWN that he cannot just magically control technology.
He also questions how Willow got those cameras in there, ignoring that Jacques DOES NOT HAVE OMNISCENCE. Why she did when she SAID it was to make sure he didn’t abuse her kids. When doesn’t fucking matter. It’s all pendantic bullcrap. You can apply this to any situation in media and I know Kamen would bitch about the show’s pacing if they did this because it would be boring as fuck.
He says that there was no foreshadowing that Willow set these cameras up which I would like to give...if not for the rest of his video which illustrates to me he would have made this point with or without foreshadowing.
“How come Robyn isn’t being arrested because she stole supplies?!”
A. Because you keep inferring she stole supplies BEFORE the election, I’ll have to assume it’s the same here and say SHE DIDN’T.
B. If you aren’t and have changed to saying AFTER the election: The show SHOWS YOU that they’ve been trying to arrest her. She’s been EVADING them.
C. If it’s at Jacques’ house: Remember what you said about image? Wanna guess how damaged Ol Jimmy’s image will be if he arrests his biggest critic while under suspicion of rigging the election against her AND being questioned for supposed abuse of power?
D. Gee, not like the heating system in an artic climate shut down, Jacques just got exposed for helping a KNOWN CRIMINAL TOO, The Grimm actually invade, they have to save all the people, things collapse between RWBY and Ironwood and a fuckton of other things of higher priority than one woman stealing supplies to fix something IRONWOOD HIMSELF SHOULD BE FIXING.
“Hur dur, Salem generic’
Says the Jojo and Yugioh fan. Say, how did your precious VRAINS turn out again hm?
“HEY, WHY NO RUBY TELL IRONWOOD AND TAKE RESPONBILITY?!”
Maybe because there’s a bunch of soulless abominations currently running amok in a city full of innocents so she should take responsibility as an official Huntress and do her damn job while the comparatively combat inept Oscar handle the non combat situation. Or did you want contrivance to work in your favor even though you’ve been proven to be a biased liar who will betray everything he stands in order to make a shit point about a flawed show he couldn’t criticize with a fucking guide on it?
“Why not have Ruby stand behind and say ‘I’ll catch up with you later’?-”
Because you’ll cut context and make her look irresponsible. Your suggestions mean NOTHING when you have proven that you have no honesty on the subject and will flip flop to suit yourself.
Also I love how you mock Mediaocrity4 for ‘treating his opposition as idiots’ as your fucking video STARTED and is littered with you doing JUST THAT. Fuck, I bet you’ll do JUST THAT with this post.
“Oh look at this character who has been shown as overly emotional, rash and prone to not thinking when mad act in line with her character how dumb!”
Gee, like say...., A shut in otaku making constant video game and anime references in, let’s say, a JRPG filled with these references?
Huh, guess you agree more with Cvit than you say.
“Dur, fistcuffs mean Jojo!”
Oh wait, Fist of the North Star did it first. And it’s a stable in most fighting anime. But hey, who cares in Kamen shanks Jojo in the back if it means lashing out against RWBY amirite?
“It’s like the context of the fights-”
Where the Ace Ops against RWBY are highly emotional, having felt betrayed by people they though as comrades and acting individually instead as duos or even as a team while all being people with shown emotional issues failing to defeat a far calmer and more developed team that have been working with them and are aware of their flaws?
Or that Clover tried to blindly follow Ironwood’s orders just as Qrow did in the past with Ozpin as the two characters heavily mirror each other, Qrow tried to fight Tyrian at first even as Clover attacked him and never actually helped Tyrian (in facting ATTACKING HIM at one point) after Clover tried arresting him in front of Robyn, someone known to do rash things when it comes to Ironwood?
I’m so glad you decided to FOR ONCE IN THIS ENTIRE, NEARLY FOURTY MINUTE VIDEO actually pay attention to the show and not the memes of the people who agree with you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Conclusion”
‘Like I said in the Steven Universe Movie, I don’t let the fanabse dictate my opinion on something-’
Which is why there wasn’t a single original viewpoint, perspective, criticism, wording or even ‘jokes’, all shit ripped straight from the mouths of others. It’s all shit I’ve seen before by other people. If I absorbed even more of this bullshit, I’d probably be able to see exact wordings in here too, I am THAT certain you didn’t think about this for yourself.
If you did, you would have noticed that you were repeating the exact same mistakes you constantly criticize in others. You would have seen that you were making assumptions based on your preconceived notion of ‘RWBY bad’ and not what the show itself was doing. You would have seen the vidnictive smugness you decried MatPat over. You would have seen the immense hypocrisy you called out before. You would have stuck to what you called your principles.
You have the failures of your biggest targets in this very video. The bias and brain rot of Quinton Reviews, the hack job of MatPat, the manipulativeness of Verlsify, the sheer level of bullshit of Cvit. You burned every single standard you set for others here, you did every wrong thing you screamed about, you failed in the same ways as those you profited from criticizing. Again, because I said all this THE LAST TIME and yet you got WORSE.
You mock and belittle the creators even as you give them every reason to treat you like shit because even the worst they’ve done looks justified compared to what you pulled. ‘Oh they said that people being mean is so bad!’ says the man preying on his weakness. ‘Oh he’s shit talking his critics!’ says the open liar. ‘Oh the writing was done by platypuses!’ says the man who wants to be taken seriously. ‘Oh it’s just a joke!’ Says the man who bitched out MatPat over jokes.
And I guarantee you’ll cry foul at me if you ever find this, decrying me as just a salty RWBY fanboy. And this time, I’m not accepting any excuses. You HAD your chances.
4chan trolls are more respectable than you. They have principles and stick to them. Fanboys are more respectable than you. They don’t claim to be anything else. And yes, your targets are more respectable than you. Their channels aren’t based on hypocrisy THIS deeply rooted.
I regret ever watching you because you were clearly speaking out of your ass.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Post-Edit:
So i edited a couple of my less explained points to get my issue across. Just saying this here so that no one accuses me of editing the source for malicious purposes.
As for why I didn’t rewrite the last two sections to remove my anger: that stays to prove a point. I had tried to stay neutral or at least calm throughout the video. But my frustrations just kept on building as you became increasingly smug and condescending, even though you called out such shit against others. I can’t even respect your arguments as arguments because considering the erratic nature of this video as well as how out of place some of them are (”Orange Man Bad”): it sounds like you just took every single compliant ever said about Volume 7 and threw it in.
You end all your videos saying ‘Examine Your Fandom’. Did you ever do that yourself?

Regarding Vulcans and autism
Since why the hell not make it a series with recognizable titles that will make it easy to look up and create links for if I ever make enough of them for it to be worth it. Disclaimer: it might be hard to understand what I’m getting at without reading the other posts since this isn’t supposed to be, like, a comprehensive analysis on how one is like the other.
Thing is, as an Aspie woman, I can see perfectly well how Vulcans expressing nothing but neutrality gets twisted in reception and interpreted as smugness/disdain, and autism (or at least Asperger’s, I am sorta more knowledgeable about one than the other) does tend to include self-awareness issues that leads to feelings of superiority and/or inferiority, and with the most recognizably “autistic” (either explicitly or through coding) being the Sheldon Coopers and the BBC Sherlock types, the assumption that anyone like them in some ways will follow in others (heck, might be why pop culture has accepted Holmes as an asshole at all, since he wasn’t that bad in the stories but he WAS smart and eccentric and every once in a while disdaindful of the people whose jobs he did better than them) is not unexpected.
The problem’s not really there because I actually have faith that we could have talked about it and raised awareness of not only this case, but also made people question why seeing a smart(er), seemingly cold but all-around just neutral characters or races made everyone raise their hackles to such a degree, assume that they’re actually mostaken about their skills (literally have seen people go “but what if Vulcans only think they’re some of the best scientists around bc they’re supercilious assholes and it’s just not true”)and wrong about life in general. Don’t get me wrong, I do get the impulse ever since Star Trek (2009), but, well, that’s just the thing, that’s where the problem is. Because we could have talked about it in fandom and be friends about it, but now there are TWO official canon sources that depict the Vulcans as intolerant, xenophobic, racist, ableist hypocrites, and not only is it harder to argue with actual canon telling you that you were right about your worst assumptions, but now you’ve seen them be actually WORSE than you first thougt, and to your faves, and in such a way that none of their positive/redeeming qualities (say, being all of that stuff sorta kinda messes up the whole IDIC thing, but it wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t doing it out out of malice, but out of ignorance and genuine misunderstanding, and if the only members who were shown to be sorta kinda decent weren’t at least partly from a different species (u.s., uh, I mean, us) and/or implied to have been influenced by a different culture) were shown. In fact, those good qualities, such as their pacifism, reverence for life, belief and respect for diversity, their curiosity and constant push for knowledge that probably wouldn’t let them just let a kid fall by the wayside becuase he was dyslexic (“there is no other wisdom, and no hope for us, but that we grow wise”), their deep attachment to their morality that’s even more important to them than to be liked by the other members of the Federation COUGH COUGH AUTISM MUCH COUGH COUGH were the first to be dropped in favour of what’s anathema to all of this, the last one in particular was turned on its head so it wasn’t that they used their logic to arrive to the most compassionate and fair choice, and it had to be logic since emotion would resist a sacrifice in a way logic won’t, making logic the compassionate choice (as they saw it, I don’t think it’s universally true, but also not universaly false), but that they were mich more willing to let people suffer and to look the other way and not be affected at all because, I don’t know, they mistook logic, which is a tool, with efficiency, which is a goal, I’d guess.
They lost the best things about them because freaking J J Abrams decided to make movies about a franchise he didn’t even like and then, even though all of it could have stayed in a parallel universe were, as many have proposed, Vulcans were worse because the Kelvin accident led people to know what Romulans looked like earlier so THEY were worse and everyone was just an asshole to each other, but then Discovery took a leaf out of his book and used his version of Vulcans and even changed old characters to fit this new version better (Sarek doesn’t disagree with Starfleet because of its bellicosity [you can’t even argue that he still disaproves of violence because he spent the worst part of the war following General Cornwell around and idk commiting mind crimes] or because he sees it as a rejection from Spock [since he says he’ll keep his distance because it’s what Spock would want and what the fuck even was that?] and he’s a cold bastard who’d take a child to a completely different culture than the one she’s used to purely for superficial beliefs and even then he’ll still prioritize his more Vulcan son, Amanda doesn’t think Vulcan’s is a hard but better way [and honestly she wouldn’t be justified to] so since she can’t be staying because of her children since they’re being mistreated, she must be doing it because of Sarek which is just so feminist, you guys, and ok, I better change topics before this becomes an “everything that’s wrong about Disco with a sidenote of everything that’s not objectively wrong but I still didn’t like”, but also, Vulcan brains can literally lobotomize themselves while dealing with trauma, don’t you think they’d take mental health seriously?) so now it’s canon in the original universe, too. Even with Enterprise (which, to be honest, I haven’t watched, I’ve only learned what was going on with Vulcans from Memory Alpha and the recounting might hace left events and/or the essence and implications of the plotline out), the tomfoolery was supposed to be Romulans infiltrating the government and twisting Surak’s teachings, all of this is supposed to be how things vecame after they got his katra back and went through the Reform.
And this got long, but the thing is: it’s not just about the Vulcans. It’s about the fact that some of the worst assumptions made about them were recognizable at least by this one Aspie as, among other things, a neurotypical’s response to an autistic trait and a long history of negative autistic coding, and now they’ve been confirmed by canon, so instead of having a nice discussion and maybe a bit of disk horse about this, we’ve gotta deal with the fact that now some people feel legitimally repelled by and resentful of Vulcans (insofar as any emotion applies to fiction) because they are now the bigots and oppressors - now it’s not a one episode race of black&white and white&black people ridiculously pointing at the obvious differences between each other, but Vulcans who have said and done bigoted things many people have been exposed to during their lives, and if they were ever willing to give them, and by extension us, a chance, now it’s ruined. I am not, of course, saying that if you hate Vulcans, especially now, you’re ableist, or that making them the Asshole^tm will turn people ableist. Just that it would have been nice to see people like me who didn’t end up justifiably despised.*
*Especially through character assassination, couldn’t you have at least made them unlikeable from the start?
#Star Trek#Vulcans#Spock#am I metaing yet?#I don’t know#it’s been bothering me#because I really love Vulcans and all of this seems like a permanent giant stain

Thinking From Deceit’s Perspective
Okay, hear me out here.
If we look at things from Deceit’s point of view, things quickly become tragic and easy to feel sorry for him. Allow me to elaborate.
There’s something I’ve noticed lately about Deceit and Virgil’s strained relationship. With the exception of some light teasing, Deceit is never uncivil towards Virgil unprovoked. All of his malice happens in response to Virgil’s own.
“Virgil? It’s me. Aren’t we friends?”
Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way. This is something brought up often by Sympathetic!Deceit fans. But it is more than worth mentioning.
A lot of people brushed this quote off as Deceit just trying to use Virgil’s bond with Patton to manipulate him.
I do not think so.
Deceit is smart and most likely knew Virgil had already figured out it was him. Virgil’s line before this was pretty blatantly stating “I know that’s you. Stop faking.” (Feel free to disagree but I think it was pretty obvious.)
There was a sound of genuine hurt in his voice that was hard for me to ignore. If I’m correct and Deceit knew Virgil knew it was him, he could’ve just been talking directly to him and expressing his confusion at his hostility. Sure, he had appeared as Patton but he should be used to his behavior by now and he was genuinely trying to help Thomas. Thomas was the first to suggest lying, Deceit simply guided him.
Virgil’s response, “I’m not so sure we are.”
Ouch.
If I’m right in assuming that Virgil interpreted Deceit’s question as Deceit asking him directly and not as Fake!Patton and Deceit picked up on that, that must have stung. Bad.
Deceit then proceeds to reveal himself. And from there he is no longer civil towards Virgil. Again, people immediately go to the assumption that’s just him showing his true colors and dropping the act. But I don’t see it that way.
Put yourself in Deceit’s shoes. Imagine your family member/friend just stops interacting with you. No explanation, no nothing. They just bail without you knowing or leave without saying goodbye. You separated on good terms so you don’t believe it was because of a fight you had or something you did. You allow them their freedom and don’t mind them becoming more independent so you leave them be. You were close to them and it gets lonely at times but you respect their decisions. Then, you pop in unannounced to help a mutual goal. They figure out who you are and snap at you. You’re stunned. You ask if they recognize you. They do, you already know it. You ask if you’re still friends and they respond with an ice-cold no. With zero reasons as to why. You don’t know why. They just treat you like an outsider as if you weren’t close to begin with.
Wouldn’t that hurt you?
To get such a cold response like that from someone he considered a friend or even family must’ve hurt. Not to mention the way Patton treats him and it must be a double ouch that Virgil has kind of become his lapdog in insulting and disagreeing with him.
And it wasn’t as if he doesn’t try to remain civil despite this.
Other examples:
Deceit revealing himself in SvS? Immediately booted out by Virgil before he can even finish his sentence. Gee, thanks for the warm welcome Virge. Of course, he’ll respond with some sass. He can’t even enter the room without Virgil being cruel and automatically assuming he’s up to no good.
Deceit gently asking Virgil to come to the stand to offer his opinions? Is given an immature fart noise in response. Yup, he’s totally going to dismiss him with that level of respect. Who wouldn’t?
Virgil is just exceedingly cruel to Deceit for, as far as we know, literally no reason.
I’ve seen people say Deceit is way nicer to Roman than to the other sides and I’m like...well, no shit. Of course Deceit is the most emotionally receptive to Roman. Roman is the one that is the most kind to him. He was the one most willing to listen in SvS and offered Deceit the opportunity to speak his mind. Granted Roman, like the others, still treats Deceit’s input poorly but still. Deceit is able to openly joke with Roman and I think that says a lot. He doesn’t respond that way to the others and I think it’s largely to do with their attitude towards him. I do believe some of it was just ego-stroking but the other stuff seemed pretty genuine. He was having fun, he likes telling jokes. And someone was actually responding positively to it. Of course he’ll be more open with the person who responds that way.
I don’t believe this is OOC for Deceit, either. In fact, I think this is how Deceit’s relationship with Virgil was like prior to the series. That makes it even more saddening.
Keep in mind we haven’t seen Deceit and Virgil’s past interactions. Deceit could’ve legitimately been kind and caring towards Virgil. They could’ve been really close and bonded over many things. Deceit could’ve been the one Virgil went to for comfort. They could’ve legitimately had a very healthy relationship prior to both their reveals. And thinking about it that way, wouldn’t it be absolutely soul-crushing to know that after seeing how Virgil treats him now?
If I’m correct. Deceit is hurt, bitter, and confused. His treatment of Virgil is only because of Virgil’s treatment of him. Same, I believe, goes for Remus. He’s hurt, confused, and angry. Virgil gets to join the “light sides” but the moment he does he’s this huge hypocrite who acts as if they’re the villains despite previously being close to them.
I love Virgil but the way he treats Deceit really rubs me the wrong way and under the assumption, they actually did have a healthy relationship it makes it even worse.

Meet-Up
Summary: The human knows that they’re there and asks to meet. Thomas goes alone despite Virgil’s warnings.
Warnings: Fear and panic
Yes, I am still trying to get these prompts out lol.
“Thomas, stop!” Virgil yelled from behind him, but Thomas kept on walking. He rounded the corner, his destination set.
“Thomas!” Virgil yelled again but Thomas grit his teeth and carried on.
“Go home, Virgil. You don’t have to be involved in this.” Thomas said. He just wanted Virgil to be safe.
“You know he’s just going to hurt you, right?” That made Thomas stop in his tracks for a moment. He let out a shaky sigh as he turned his head to look at Virgil.
“I...I know.” Thomas swallowed the lump forming in his throat. “But I don’t have a choice, especially if it means keeping you safe.” Thomas looked at Virgil sadly before walking once more. Virgil growled but Thomas knew he was more scared and panicked than angry.
“Let’s just ignore him and move. Leave and go somewhere far away where he’ll never be able to find us.” Virgil tried, still following Thomas. Once again, Thomas stopped and this time turned all the way around. He stood in front of Virgil eyes sad and pleading.
“Virgil, you know we can’t do that.” He said softly. “He has my picture, if I don’t do this, our whole species could be revealed.”
Virgil shook his head. “But if you do do this he could still reveal you. And he’d have even better proof!” Thomas looked away.
“I know but I just have to hope...I have to hope that doesn’t happen. Now please, Virgil, go back home. And if I’m not back by tomorrow then...then please move out of the building, somewhere far away, okay?” Virgil shook his head again, tears rushing down his cheeks. Thomas pulled him into a hug before slowly pulling away. “I have to go Virgil or I’m going to be late.”
Thomas took several steps back and this time Virgil stayed where he was, hugging himself. “...Be careful Thomas. For the love of god be careful.” Virgil said and Thomas nodded.
“I’ll see you later Virgil.”
“...Yeah. I hope so.” And with that, both Thomas and Virgil turned in the opposite direction. One heading home and one headed for what could very well be his demise.
Oh well. Thomas thought. At least I know Virgil will be safe.
***
Thomas had no reason to suspect he was being anything other than careful. He was doing as he always did when going out to borrow. Not taking too much, making sure the human of the place was away or asleep, wearing clothes that helped blend him into the night, all that good stuff.
So when both Thomas and Virgil found a note in the kitchen that simply said ‘I want to talk’ along with a time and place to meet, he thought nothing of it. Virgil was a bit worried, of course, but Thomas was quick to reassure him that the note wasn’t for them. How could it be?
Oh, had Thomas been wrong.
The night after the meeting was supposed to have taken place, another note appeared in the exact same spot. This time, there was no denying that the note was for them. Because attached to the note was a picture.
The picture itself was dark, out of focus and far away, but there was no denying that Thomas was in the picture. The note that time, said, ‘I know you exist. I simply want to talk.’ And then another time and place to meet.
And that’s why Thomas found himself here, on the human’s desk in his room, nervously waiting for the human to show up. Every instinct within him was shouting at him to hide and leave but Thomas ignored them. He knew he had to do this, if not for his kind then for Virgil.
It was then that the bedroom door opened and Thomas whirled around the see the human come in. The human’s gaze immediately fell on the desk and he paused, eyes going wide. Thomas was frozen as well, heart pounding against his chest.
“You...came.” The human spoke, stepping a bit closer. “Honestly, I am surprised.”
Thomas bit his lip, taking in a breath. “You uh, you didn’t really give me much of a choice.” The borrower said, not looking at the human directly.
The human hummed but didn’t say anything as he took a seat at the desk. Thomas took a few steps back, watching the human warily. The human looked him over and Thomas shivered at his gaze. A few moments of silence passed and Thomas was just about to speak up when the human spoke. “Do you know how impossible you are?”
Thomas blinked. “Wh-What?”
“You shouldn’t exist at all, according to the square-cube law and yet...here you are.” The human was being very calm about all this, which was just putting Thomas off even more.
“Yeah...here I am,” Thomas said a bit weakly. He took in a breath. “Look, I’m here. I came to this meeting...now what?” Thomas asked. He just wanted to know what was going to happen to him.
The human raised an eyebrow. “Well, like I stated in my note, I simply wish to speak with you. Ask you a few questions.” The human explained.
“And...what about the picture? You-You aren’t going to show anyone...are you?” Thomas asked and the human gave him a confused look.
“I am to assume that humans are not supposed to know about you, correct?” The human said and Thomas tensed but nodded. “Why?”
Thomas was thrown off for a second. “What?”
“Why aren’t humans supposed to know of you.” The human asked and Thomas felt his eyebrows furrow.
“Isn’t it...obvious? If humans found out about u-er me than they would kill us, or experiment on us or-or keep us as pets…” He trailed off, nervously looking to meet the human's eyes. He was surprised to find that the human’s eyes were wide.
“Ah...I see…” The human coughed awkwardly. “Yes, I can...see why you keep yourself secret.”
“Wait, really?” Thomas asked, his own eyes going wide. The human nodded.
“Yes and I can assure you, I will not be showing you off or doing any of those things. Like I stated, I simply want to converse with you.” The human spoke. Thomas searched his eyes but he couldn’t find a hint of deception or malice. The human was...telling the truth.
“Oh...well in that case, my name is Thomas.” Thomas introduced with a bit of a nervous smile. The human blinked in surprise before returning it.
“My name is Logan. It is nice to meet you.” Logan reached out his hand towards Thomas and the borrower’s eyes widened before realizing Logan was not coming to grab him but to shake hands as a greeting. He reached out his hand to meet Logan’s when suddenly, a shout came from above.
“Leave him alone!” Before either borrower or human could react, Thomas watched as something landed on Logan’s head.
“Ah!” Logan yelled, wincing as his hair was pulled. Thomas’ eyes widened when he realized who exactly was on Logan’s head.
“Virgil?!” He yelled and Virgil looked down at Thomas, pulling hard on a piece of hair.
“Thomas, run! I got this!” Virgil yelled before moving to a different strand of hair and pulling once more.
“What is going-Ow!” Logan tried to say but was interrupted by another hard pull. Thomas didn’t run, instead, he came closer.
“Virgil, stop!” He yelled up but at that point, Logan had had enough. He reached his hand up and blindly grabbed Virgil in a loose fist. Virgil yelped and immediately started to struggle.
“Let me go!” Virgil yelled, pushing against the human’s fingers but to no avail. Logan let out a small sigh as he looked Virgil over.
“Please calm down, I mean you no harm.” Of course, Logan’s words did nothing to calm Virgil down. Thomas bit his lip, looking between Virgil and Logan.
“Logan put him down!” Thomas demanded. He was only half surprised that Logan actually did, setting Virgil down right next to Thomas. As soon as Virgil was on solid ground he grabbed Thomas’ arm and started to pull him towards their exit. Thomas dug his feet into the ground and pulled his hand away. Virgil turned and gave him an incredulous look.
“Thomas, what are you doing. Let’s go already!” Virgil hissed, sending nervous glances toward Logan as he once again tried to grab Thomas’ arm. Thomas didn’t let him.
“Virgil, he’s telling the truth!” Thomas exclaimed and Virgil froze.
“Wh-What?” Virgil stuttered, more than a little confused. Logan cleared his throat, gaining both borrowers attentions.
“He is correct. I mean you no harm. I simply wish to speak to Thomas...and you, if you are willing.” Logan was not surprised at the existence of more tiny people, though he was surprised that another had shown up. Especially in the way that he did. Logan rubbed at his head.
“You’re...You’re lying.” Virgil said but Thomas shook his head, putting a comforting hand on Virgil’s shoulder.
“I really don’t think he is.” Virgil searched Thomas’ eyes before sighing.
“This is insane.” He muttered to Thomas, who just shrugged with a sheepish smile.
“So you are...Virgil?” Logan asked and Virgil simply nodded. “It’s good to meet you, despite the er...rough first impression. My name is Logan.”
Virgil searched Logan’s eyes but was surprised, just as Thomas had been, to find no traces of malice. He glanced at Thomas who gave an encouraging nod. “Uh...nice to meet you too,” Virgil mumbled after a second of hesitation. Logan smiled.
“So…” Thomas started. “You had some questions for us?”

There’s a post that’s been bothering me for literally four years. It managed to somehow be both homophobic and transphobic and the (very popular) social justice blogger who made it never got any serious blowback. I’m going to post a screencap of it here, but I won’t say who it’s from because it was four years ago. What I will say is that as far as I know, they have never addressed it or apologized despite having been asked more than once, never did anything about all the people in the notes using it as a reason to be homophobic, and that they are still a pretty popular, well regarded blog.
This post was made in response to part of an old conversation that got dragged up. It was one of those things that’s like, maybe this was okay, maybe it wasn’t, depending on the context, which I’ve never been able to find. The person who originally pulled it up was a transphobe who was talking about “biological sex,” so I don’t trust their judgment or intentions, but a broken clock is right twice a day, so it’s possible that something actually homophobic was said. I haven’t posted it here because that would just be taking it out of context again and as OP has pointed out, that isn’t helpful. Here’s the part of their response that deals with monosexuals and making assumptions about people’s gender. The rest of the post talked about why taking the comment out of context didn’t accurately represent their feelings and how the conversation had also been about biphobia and bi erasure, and that’s all fine.
It starts out fine (making assumptions about someone’s gender and anatomy based on their appearance is cissexist and we should all try not to do it), but it turns into “and I don’t do that because I’m bisexual.” Which like, you’re a cis woman so yes you fucking do. I’m nonbinary and I still do it sometimes. And then there’s that line at the end about how gay and straight people’s orientations are based on assumptions about people’s gender and anatomy.
I’ll note that they were talking about monosexuals, which includes lesbians, gay men, and all straight people and was also read like it was directed at people who were doing it out of ignorance rather than malice, so this post was not specifically about terfs and isn’t really applicable to them at all because they know exactly what they’re doing. Terfs were also considered just as bad in 2015 as they are now, so if that comment had been about terfs, they could have said that and it would have gotten them off the hook with the people who were calling them out in good faith.
They then wrote out a longer explanation about what their current feelings were on the subject. This is broken up into two images just because it was too long to screencap at once. I haven’t removed anything. The first post and second reblog are the OP:
They later edited the post twice--once to specify that they were only talking about cis monosexuals and once to add “and sometimes also bi and pan people do this too,” which did little to address the fact that this post was literally claiming that being gay or straight was inherently problematic and that bi and pan people were automatically less transphobic by virtue of their sexual orientation and just ended up implying that it’s only okay to be gay if you’re trans (because I guess that means you’re woke enough to stop yourself from being attracted to people on sight?). Here’s
Four years ago, I wasn’t really able to articulate a response that cut to the root of why this post bothered me so much more than any other homophobic or transphobic bullshit and to navigate around the fact that there are parts of it that I genuinely agree with (most of the stuff about anatomy), but I’m older and more practiced now, so here we go.
This post is based on a number of incorrect assumptions:
That gay people can’t find someone they’re not attracted to aesthetically pleasing to look at
That gay people are, across the board, only attracted to certain genitalia and base their sexual orientations off that
That gay people’s thoughts immediately jump to sex the first time they’re attracted to someone
That the only way to be bi is to be attracted to every gender
That gay people base their assumptions about people’s gender on whether they’re attracted to them
That still being willing to have sex with someone after finding out you were wrong about their gender makes your assumption less transphobic
They were not willing to listen to any of the gay people in their notes trying to explain to them that this isn’t actually how being gay works at all or any of the bi, pan, or trans people who called them out for being way out of their lane. The only person they responded to at all was a trans lesbian who pointed out that they hadn’t ever specified that they were only talking about cis gay people (that person also pointed out several ways in which the post was homophobic, none of which were addressed beyond “that’s not what I meant”).
Basically, the thesis statement here is, “Gay people’s attraction is based solely around sex and genitals and none of them are attracted to trans people, but bi and pan people are attracted to everyone so we don’t make as many assumptions about people’s gender, and when we do it’s less problematic.” Which is obviously very false for multiple reasons.
I’m going to go through all of these assumptions and talk about the underlying thought processes underpinning them and how they’re even more insidious than they seem on the surface.
1. Gay people can’t find someone they’re not attracted to aesthetically pleasing to look at
This is actually one of the more benign assumptions and what it really comes down to is not understanding that thinking, “That person is hot” isn’t the same thing as thinking, “I would be interested in pursuing a sexual relationship with that person” (which also isn’t necessarily the same thing as thinking “I would be interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with that person” but this post completely ignores that romance might be part of being gay--we’ll get to that later). It’s really just a fundamental misunderstanding about what sexual attraction is and how it works.
2. Gay people are, across the board, only attracted to certain genitalia
The obvious thought process underlying this attitude is that you have to be attracted to women in some capacity to want to date and trans man and vice versa for trans women. There are two possible assumptions that could be causing this. The first is that all gay people (and all straight people) are transphobic and only care about genitalia. The second is that a trans man who hasn’t had bottom surgery isn’t really enough of a man for someone who’s only attracted to men to want to have sex with him, and the same for trans women. You’re either being homophobic or transphobic here.
In fact, what it really reveals about OP is that, regardless of their self-righteousness on this topic, they are the one equating being attracted to women with being attracted to vaginas and being attracted to men with being attracted to penises. That’s not to say that there isn’t a transphobia problem in gay communities, but the implication here is that these are the objective definitions of being a lesbian and a gay man respectively. There are definitely cis lesbians who date trans women and cis gay men who date trans men.
OP assigned a transphobic, incorrect definition to gay people and then based a lot of their argument on that. We see this a lot in ace discourse (”it means not wanting to fuck”) and in bi vs pan discourse (”it excludes nonbinary people”). It would be a problem if it was true, but it’s not, and while there are people who ascribe to that definition, those people wrong. There are lots cissexist bi and pan people who equate gender and genitalia until told otherwise, and it’s not less transphobic when they do it. It’s a transphobia problem, not a being gay problem.
3. Gay people’s thoughts immediately jump to sex as soon as they’re attracted to someone
So this is just blatant sexualization of gay people, and it really explains a lot of about the first two assumptions. Being gay is all about sex, so if you’re gay, you can’t possibly think someone is hot without immediately thinking about what they look like naked and how you want to have sex with them. And of course because being gay is all about what kind of sex you want to have, your attraction must be defined by the genitalia of your partners.
It should go without saying that this is really homophobic. Even for gay aros, this isn’t how it works. I guess I can understand how if you’re equally attracted to everyone, you might not understand how gender plays a roll in attraction outside of thinking about sex, but it does, and that you don’t get it doesn’t excuse this. It just means you shouldn’t have been talking about it.
4. The only way to be bi is to be attracted to every gender
There are a couple of assumptions that could be underlying this. The possibility that’s most charitable to OP is that they are attracted to every gender and assume that that’s the only way to be bi. This is the only option that avoids exorsexism, but it is biphobic.
The second possibility is an assumption that nonbinary people don’t exist. Therefore, the only way to be bi is to be attracted to both men and women. This is extremely exorsexist for obvious reasons.
The third is a little more complicated, but it’s basically an assumption that being attracted to nonbinary people doesn’t, on it’s own, make someone bi. So, a person acknowledges that nonbinary people exist but basically thinks that either, because nonbinary people span so many identities, it’s impossible to be attracted to them if you’re not attracted to everyone. So a bi woman who’s attracted to nonbinary people and women shouldn’t exist because some nonbinary people identify so close to being a man that you couldn’t be attracted to them if you weren’t attracted to men. This is where the fetishization argument that a lot of exlusionists use comes from (I’m not saying that OP is an exclusionist, this is just the underlying ideology they use), and it ignore the fact that identifying as being attracted to women and nonbinary people doesn’t mean you’re attracted to ALL women and nonbinary people. It just means you can be attracted to women and nonbinary people.
Another possible mindset underlying that assumption is that if you aren’t attracted to everyone, the nonbinary people you’re attracted to must be so close as to be indistinguishable from whatever binary gender you’re attracted to, and therefore don’t count as being a different gender. That mindset stems from not thinking aboit nonbinary genders as being as legitimate or meaningful as binary genders and from seeing nonbinary people as basically whatever binary gender you think they’re closest to (”If you’re a bi woman who is attracted to men and nonbinary people, you’re really straight because your nonbinary partner looks like/acts like/is basically a man”). This is again exorsexist for reasons that should be obvious.
5. Gay people base their assumptions about people’s gender on whether they’re attracted to them
This is the assumption that gay people go:
I’m attracted to this person -> They must be a man/woman
rather than
I think this person is a man/woman -> I’m attracted to them
This frames gay people’s attraction as the reason the assumption about someone else’s gender is being made, and not the fact that we were all raised in a cissexist society. It’s also lets cis bi and pan people completely off the hook cissexism. If gay people’s assumptions about other people’s gender is caused by or is somehow made worse being attracted to them, then bi and pan people should be basically immune because they’re attracted to everyone (according to OP).
The mindset underlying this assumption is that there are people that you are innately attracted to and gay people are just attempting to shape their sexual orientation around their best guess at who those people are. Therefore, everyone is... I don’t know, varying degrees of bi I guess?... and gay people (and straight people) are just the transphobes who assume they know what everyone’s gender is, while bi and pan people are enlightened enough to realize they don’t. OP claimed in the notes that they weren’t saying monosexual orientations don’t exist, but if the point your making is that monosexual orientations are based solely around an assumption that’s probably wrong, then that is what you’re saying. And they definitely didn’t correct the first reblogger, who was unequivocally saying that.
It completely ignores the probability that a person’s attraction would disappear after finding out the person’s gender was actually not compatible with their sexual orientation, or the possibility that a gay person might know someone at least well enough to have some idea of what their gender is before becoming sexual attracted to them (because, as we’ve covered, just thinking someone is hot isn’t the same as attraction, and many gay people aren’t fantasizing about sex with complete strangers). Unless we’re talking about a closeted trans person, you usually don’t have to know someone that well to know what their gender is.
Shocker: most assumptions about people’s gender are made because they “look like” one of the binary genders, have certain secondary sex characteristics, have a traditionally masculine or feminine name, use he/him or she/her pronouns, or have a certain gender marker on their driver’s license. These are all things that bi and pan people are equally susceptible to.
6. Still being willing to have sex with someone after finding out you were wrong about their gender makes your assumption less transphobic
It super doesn’t. You still made the assumption. Framing it this way implies that transphobia is all about whether you would be willing to have sex with a trans person. I shouldn’t need to explain why that’s bad.
In conclusion
I want to mention that OP clarified that they weren’t try to say that everyone is bi in a reblog, but if that’s genuinely true then... I honestly don’t know how this post made sense to them. The point is either “people only think they’re gay or straight because they’re making assumptions about other people’s genders” OR “gay people want to have sex with strangers and that’s problematic (but it’s fine if a bi or pan person does it).” Which is a great example of someone setting a standard that requires huge changes from others but none from them and then getting self-righteous because other people don’t meet it (surprise surprise, the post I was referencing when I brought this up yesterday was from the same OP).
Anyway, regardless of which is true, it’s wrong. This post is homophobic, transphobic, and also erases a lot of bi experiences, and I still can’t believe that so many people just let this go unchecked when it happened.
mod k
Note: I better not catch a single one of you using this post as an excuse to be biphobic.

18th of Last Seed
I awoke early this day. Gerder and Ralof were discussing the situation at hand. It took me a few minutes to remember where I was, to be honest. I stayed relatively quiet throughout their conversation. I’m not sure why. I’ve always been more of a listener than a talker. Was always taught the value of listening. They both looked at me when the realised I was awake and smiled warmly. That hearty warm-blooded smile that Nords wear so well. Gerder offered me some breakfast. I still wasn’t very hungry but good manners would not let me refuse. It was not long after that Ralof brought up the topic that was likely on all our minds, but no-one wanted to say. Dragons. We had seen a dragon. We had been attacked by a dragon. We had survived an attack by a dragon. No others made it to the village that day so I can only assume that we were indeed the only survivors. This tiny village. A tiny village made up of farmers and craftsmen. It wouldn’t stand a snowball’s chance in oblivion if a dragon decided to attack.
It was the man that finally called on me. I had by this point learned his name to be Hod. Odd name, but there we go. He asked me for a favour. A simple favour in all honesty. Go to Whiterun. Tell the Jarl about the dragons. Bring back reinforcements. A simple task really. I thought so at the time and I think so now. I don’t really wish to get too involved in whatever this god's forsaken land has gotten itself into. I’ve been hearing murmurings about some kind of civil war all day and quite frankly, I could care less about it. But these people were kind enough to take me in. Feed me and let me sleep. I honestly consider it my duty at this point to repay them in some way and since I have nothing in the way of material goods to give, a small favour seems like nothing. So, I agreed. If what I was told was correct, Whiterun was little more than half a day away. I did however with that Ralof would come with me. To keep me from getting lost if nothing else. Oh, well. All’s well that end’s well in this case.
Before I headed out, I thought it a good idea of collect some supplies, but as my bad luck would have it, I walked right into the middle of a blazing argument between the two proprietors. Something about bandits and a golden claw and the future of the shop depending on it and this Camilla girl insisting that she go an confront them like it wasn’t the stupidest idea ever thought up. Eventually, I agreed to go and retrieve the claw for them. Honestly, I feel taking down a few bandits would do me the world of good at the moment. I was about to leave when the door burst open, practically knocking me on off my feet. A young Nord walked in. Blonde hair tied back. Broad shoulders. A smile that could worm its way into any woman's heart. He didn’t even seem to notice me when he passed and strode confidently up to Camilla, presenting her with a makeshift bouquet of wildflowers. It would be rather charming if the fellow didn’t give off such an arrogant air about him. The two flirted playfully for a while. At the very least Camilla seemed to reciprocate his affections. I left in a quiet hurry just as the shop owner, who I took by his reaction was the young lady’s brother, decided to put a stop to this rather embarrassing display and showed the lad out.
He blew a kiss at the closed door and looked at me rather suspiciously. I snapped a quick “What?” at him and he offered a half-hearted smile.
“I haven’t seen you before” he said.
“No,” I said back, not really intending to talk to him.
“Are you new?” he asked, leaning slightly closer to me.
“I am.” I reached back for my dagger. I’d no intention of using it but I thought perhaps that if he saw it, it would dissuade him from conversing with me further.
“Not often we get a Dunmer around here. Are you a friend of Faendal?”
I looked at him, questioningly. There was an almost hopeful anticipation in his voice. I fought back the urge to tell him that I had no idea who this Faendal character was, and answered with a quiet shake of my head. He seemed almost anxious at this, rubbing his arms and avoiding my eyes.
“Oh, I see. Um…well, in that case, do you think you’d like to meet him?”
I gave him a very odd look and took several steps back. He must have seen the seriousness in my expression for he gave a sigh and slumped over the railing. He offered a passing attempt at an apology and out of brazenness or stupidity, our right confessed that he hoped I’d be a suitable partner for this Bosmer chap that he’d apparently been in something of a love feud with Sven for the fair Camilla’s affections.
“I suppose it doesn’t really matter,” he said to no-one in particular. “They’re just friends after all.”
I couldn’t stop myself from scoffing.
“Of course. And when ever has a close friendship developed into feelings of love.”
Not entirely sure why I said that. Maybe just to get a rise out of him. Maybe I actually felt sorry for the twit. Either way, he gave me a look of utter disdain and then almost immediately relented and agreed. He looked at me rather sheepishly and asked if I could do him a quick favour, after which he reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper and handed it over to me.
“Listen. I know this is none of your concern really, but could you deliver this to Camilla. Tell her it’s from Faendal?”
I shot him another look but took the paper from him anyway. I’d no desire get involved in this foolishness. I had things to do. I didn’t have time to be dealing with some silly love triangle. But on the other hand. I relented that it might be nice to play matchmaker for a time. At least this is what I told myself. In truth, I think I just wanted to read what this young whelp had written. Pure nosiness. I will not try and pretend it was anything but. However, given the nature of the letter he gave me, I’m quite glad I made that decision. The letter I held in my hand was full of toxicities so vile I doubt the young man had any real awareness about its severity. The long and short of it was a statement that the difference in race between the two meant that Faendal and our dear Camilla could never be together. This was bad enough. But it was not what enraged me so. The letter mentioned the Aldmeri Dominion. Made very dangerous accusations. This was a Nord village. It doesn’t take a genius to understand the uneasy relationship these people have with my kind. Somehow, this Faendal had slipped through the cracks of prejudice and set up a life here for himself. If there was even the slightest hint that he was connected with the Thalmor I shudder to think what would happen to him. And this was the letter he wished me to deliver? A letter that could ruin a man’s life. A man I had never met? Over some girl?
What a sickening thing to do. Honestly, the fact that I’m rather sure Sven was nothing but ignorant about how damaging this could be was the only thing preventing me from sticking my dagger through his neck…that and his mother was literally sitting a few feet away from me. I took the letter and decided that I’d probably better tell this Faendal character what was going on. If this idiot was willing to say something like this, then it was likely something Faendal would have to look out for.
I actually found him relatively quickly. I’d passed by him before but we had never talked until now. He was tall for a Bosmer. Dark eyes. Long white hair pulled back in a high ponytail. He looked at me and smiled. Can’t deny there was an earnest charm about him. Perhaps it was just nice to see one of my own, but I wouldn’t fault Camilla for having an interest in him. His demeanour changed however when I showed him the letter. His body visually tensed up and he clutched the letter in his hand. Obviously, I was not overreacting when I considered how damaging this could be to him. He peered over to me and gave me a quick smile, silently thanking me for telling him. We were silent for a moment before he suddenly perked up and pulled me over to a large tree stump. He took out a piece of paper and without uttering a word began scribbling on it with a piece of charcoal. It took me a few seconds to figure out what he was doing but when I did, I couldn’t help but giggle. What he was writing was a letter in return. A taste of the bard’s own medicine. Nothing as potentially life-destroying as the one Sven had made for him, but one that if delivered to a certain young woman, would not hold him in good favour. Still makes me laugh. I almost feel sorry for the boy.
Oh well. To cut a long story short, Sven’s prospects of romancing Camilla are now significantly lower than before. However, both Faendal and I recognised the danger before us. Sven was obviously willing to tell egregious lies in order to get him out of the way. I doubt there is any real malice intended with him. Just stupidity. But stupidity is as dangerous as anything. In any regard, I suggest that Faendal accompany me to retrieve the golden claw that seemed to mean so much to the fair imperial. Perhaps if he returns it to her instead of me, he could gain favour. I can’t believe I’m giving this so much though. I truly did intend not to get involved in this. On the other hand, I also intended that this journal would be a factual account of important matters and we see how well that turned out.
He agreed and we set out towards Whiterun. I wish I can say something more interesting happened on the way, but alas, it was a perfectly calm and uneventful journey. We chatted together, mainly about Camilla. The fool truly does seem to love her. I told him about what happened at Helgan. He seemed dubious, like I had been remembering things wrong or that perhaps I was playing a trick on him. This aside, we travelled silently and by the time we reached the city, it was near midnight. Too late to talk to the Jarl now. He will be asleep. Everyone will be asleep. All we can really do is hope to the eight that Riverwood will be safe from those beats for one more night. We decided to spend the night in an inn. I believe it’s called the Bannered Mare. It’s a hearty place. Rough and warm like a tight embrace. I do love these Nord customs.
Just before we turned int for the night, Faendal took my arm and looked dead into my eyes.
“Did you really see a dragon?”
“I did more than see it.”
He let me go. His eyes were worried, but I could not quite place at what specifically. His home perhaps. His lady love back in Riverwood. The prospect of possibly facing one. I don’t know, for he retired before I could ask. I will in the morning.

If lee wrote otome | #2 - Boss
The Heroine (MC)
CEO MC: Never gets enough sleep, which makes her sarcastic but is also semi her own fault given the amount of caffeine she consumes. Sort of obsessive about long-term planning, unwaveringly believes that a company’s value comes from its employees and will choose them over shareholder dividends every time. Determined to run an ethical company even if it means it’s not the most profitable company. Super duper Type A – aggressive and fearless because she has to be. Sometimes really just wants a cupcake in her hand and a cat in her lap, but then she’s bored and goes back to business planning. Creative risk-taker, decent negotiator. Smart enough to know where she needs help and hire people who can do the things she can’t (or, more to the point, doesn’t want to do). Gets back up every time. Will definitely fight you. Might feel bad about it later but only if someone reminds her it happened.
Love Interests
The BARISTA: Peppy, optimist (or so MC thinks) but it turns out they actually switch up their personality depending on who they’re serving (sometimes they are the chill, hipster philosopher, sometimes they are the rude New York get-it-done eye roller, etc.) actually somewhere in the middle of it all – but really IS an optimist despite themselves. Kind of slippery and hard to pin down. Big family, used to being what their other siblings/parents need from them. Fairly certain CEO MC is headed for an early heart attack with the amount of espresso she imbibes. Probably an author. Maybe an ex-broadway personjust because. IDK.
The PR LAWYER: Worked-three-jobs-put-self-through-college story. Patience, tact, good at calming people down. Detail oriented, a little fussy about appearances. Perennially exasperated by CEO (Please don’t promise to have a cure for cancer In the next three years with no data to back it up. No, you can’t punch the reporter for being a dick. Look, I know you WANT to donate 100% of proceeds to charity but please pick a friendlier one than ‘punch reporters in the face foundation’ that’s not gonna fly) never gets enough sleep. Has a key to MC’s house so they can come yell at her for making their life difficult at whatever hour of the night she insists on doing so. Is on MC’s speed-dial, which means they also get called to DD, though they’d rather not.
FLAKY MODEL(s?): Trust fund kid? Pretty face? Floats through life? The sort of person who will get on the wrong subway train and then just ride it all day people-watching never mind that they had an appointment six hours ago. Pose with a boa constrictor? Sure, as long as it’s being treated humanely. Tarantula on the face? Awwww, it’s fuzzyyyyy. No filter, no worries. Probably drags CEO MC along on a Caribbean shoot and PR Lawyer has to call and yell because that does not look good, okay? And poor MC is like, I thought we were getting a drink and model is like WE ARE we are getting tropical coconut water from the SOURCE here oh wait I don’t know how to drink out of a coconut…who knows why they are attracted to CEO MC, probably because she’s there and sticks around and no one else does. Human puppy dog.
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD: young hotshot venture capitalist, thinks CEO MC is a bleeding heart (your employees do not need that many sick days, lost productivity blah blah blah why do we need a daycare onsite that’s a waste of shareholder money), kind of a math whiz, naturally lucky, doesn’t get along with family (gambling problem in the fam – which manifests in him in investment risks and unresolved issues) butts heads constantly with MC, frequently tries to get her fired – in part because his attempts to do so get her fired up and she does great things, which ultimately is better for the company than when she’s just doing her normal ‘good’ job. She is going to be royally ticked when she figures that out. Manipulative, but relatively benign under it all. The sort of person who smirks instead of smiles. All the time.
CHEF FROM HER FAVORITE RESTAURANT: Also a CEO though on smaller scale, because, running a restaurant IS running a business. Probably under the impression CEO MC is actually like, a graduate student with no money because she tends to get takeout at weird hours. Gruff, grumpy, abrupt, but heart of gold. Basically—will grumble about you coming in late but will add extra veggies to your pasta because you’re looking a little pale and need the nutrients and if you call them on it will snarl that they had to be used up they were going bad and he wasn’t going to waste extra, expensive, PROTEIN on you. (MC asks them out and then realizes the only nice restaurant she knows is the one the chef owns)
PRESCHOOL TEACHER: JUST A DECENTLY NICE PERSON. Checks in to make sure MC has eaten regularly, staying hydrated, needs anything fixed around the house (she can do her own plumbing but doesn’t like the electrical and hey it’s nice to have company). Good with kids. Maybe divorced and wanted them but ex-spouse didn’t? idk. Calm, not easily ruffled, sweet as pie, except when he’s playing video games and suddenly MC understands how he can get through the day without any aggression – he unleashes it on fictional zombies. Blissfully normal, all things considered.
PERSONAL TRAINER: “fine, whatever, EAT THE DANG CHEESE if you’re just going to ignore my nutritional advice we’re doing ten more reps” athletic, happiest when DOING versus saying or reading or sitting. Not as impulsive as you’d guess at first glance, because they tend to use working out as a meditative time to make decisions. Didn’t finish college because they realized they just didn’t enjoy it, but they did enjoy working with student athletes, which is how they got into training. Enviably fit. Wants to expand the gym so wheedles business advice out of MC in exchange for not harassing her about her tendency to drink coffee instead of water (she insists it has water IN it, it should count) not particularly intimidated by her, which is a pleasant change of pace.
Supporting Cast (non LIs)
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: Keeps MC sane, has her back, schedules everything. Good at details, even better at smiling at angry people and making them not-angry through sheer force of sunny personality (actually a ruse, MC is convinced she’s actually the most delightfully evil person ever, but like some kind of fairy tale where when you acknowledge the thing it goes away, refuses to ever dive into figuring out). Older than the MC because we need to stop making middle aged women invisible in stories?? Sometimes has to remind MC of how much she does by holding silent protests (in part why MC thinks she is secretly a supervillain in the making) which are always, always successful.
PARENT COMPANY ADMIN ASSISTANT: Bane of MC’s existence. Smarmy, smily pain in the tush.
CFO: We have put in an official request with the company credit card management to start declining purchases at that coffee shop you go to, no this is not negotiable, it’s not in the budget anymore drink so darn water woman. Completely willing to go toe-to-toe with MC, meetings often involve a lot of yelling, but they’re always productive and no hard feelings.
CIO: Serpent-y, but not in a bad way. Just a very cool-tempered person, very contained, very guarded, very introverted. Never happy when she has to do presentations, so super willing to share knowledge with MC so she does it instead (she is not a great teacher, kind of judgey and shows her frustration when MC doesn’t ‘get’ it right away, but very brilliant, and there’s no malice in the judgement, just no filter). Extremely logic-oriented and process-oriented over people-oriented. Picks up and assess tech very quickly, and good at finding affordable, fast solutions.
RANDOM MARKETING EMPLOYEE: Set up to be a villain but is actually like gung-ho on MC’s side. Literally an ex pageant queen, went to college on scholarship from it. Out of the workforce for awhile as a stay at home mom when her kids were young, but picks up the new trends fast. Now a single mother, so will literally fight the chairman if he tries to take away the company daycare. Some days uses the ‘people see a pretty face and assume no brain’ to her advantage, some days it wears her out. Unofficially drinking buddy with MC, even though they both feel weird about it given the fact MC is technically boss’s boss’s boss.
BARTENDER: also an ex-girlfriend maybe? Current best friend? Who she turns to when the barista cuts her off from coffee and the chef’s restaurant is already closed. Sharp-tongued, bristly, generally disgusted with MC’s six inch heels and slacks in her leather-jacket, cigar smoke bar. Like lady, you’re lost. Probably on the mob payroll at some point in her life.
ROUTE PLOTS:
(Chairman route?) MERGER – company has just bought another company, which is a major risk move for CEO (can only be one, so do you keep the old one on as a VP? Do you let them go? Will they be bitter/try to sabotage you?) you have to fend off internal sabotage, get everything running smoothly without either company falling apart in the process.
(PR Lawyer route?) Parent company did something massively shady and it’s tainting your company’s name too, so you have to scrounge to avoid having to fire half your employees and keep the company alive.
(Model route?) New product launch – hence why models are entering the picture. It’s a new business venture in the sense it’s targeted at a completely new audience your company hasn’t catered to before.
(Personal Trainer route?) Company is in its infancy, hugely risky time, and you’re doing everything you can to ensure it’s a success (maybe including putting your own salary back into it, which means you can’t afford PT so they agree to work with you as long as you give them business advice)
FROM @han-pan- they keep trying to buy new retail space for the gym and MC keeps buying it instead because it’s SUCH GOOD PROPERTY and they sort of exasperatedly are like ugh fine whatever you owe me since you keep swiping prime spots out from under my nose

The Downfalls of Trust (OCs Marcus and Scarlett for whumpadoodle)
(aaaAAAH I’M DONE! All the requests have been fulfilled! And now I’m going to take a nap forever peace out babes night night- @whumpadoodle thank you so much for letting me drabble about Marcus and Scarlett, they were such an intriguing pair! I’m so so sorry it took me forever to get to you, but I made sure to write this one eeextra long, so please do enjoy!)
Kind gestures did not always reap kind karma in return.
Marcus learned this on a night so peaceful it had to be sacred. It might have been karma from the future that things were going so well; food supplies were good, Scarlett was in a light mood, even the hours spent bumping heads over a strategy map had been powdered with keen jests and an overall sense of unstoppable confidence. The woods they found themselves camped in were serene like no other, untouched by colonization or overbearing wildlife to make their resting spot hazardous. To presume the best of strangers and their intentions in a state like this couldn’t be blamed. It could only be learned from.
It happened when they were already asleep. After bidding Scarlett a joyful goodnight and watching her head off into her tent, Marcus had been resting for a while in his own when a voice was heard from around the ashes of their previous campfire. Imagining it couldn’t be anything more than a couple of lost hunters, he lifted the tent flap to find Scarlett unsurprisingly brandishing her sword against a half a dozen grisly looking men and one woman. She was eyeing Scarlett without fear, something that did indeed surprise Marcus just a little.
“Might I ask your business with us?” He stood firm, ready to let only a fair answer ease him up a bit. The woman who appeared in charge turned from Scarlett as if to blatantly ignore her, which she took with a pinch of indignation.
“I can’t apologize enough for waking you,” the woman said, “It’s so late at night and all. You see, the six of us are merchants with quite the assortment of textiles to transport. We would be well on our way to the city, if it hadn’t been for the wheel on our poor wagon breaking. None of us are exactly the finest mechanics.” Her smile was the kind that made you smile back, even against your own will. Marcus nodded at their dilemma and waited for her to go on. “We’ve walked a long way to find anyone who could lend us a hand. Would you be up to the task at this late hour? Or maybe your lady friend? With such a manly sword, I’d imagine she could be rather skilled in areas of labor.”
“For a merchant, you speak like a snooty aristocrat,” Scarlett muttered. “I don’t buy your story for one second.”
“Our story? What other reason could we have to approach you? If we were up to no good, you certainly would have scared us off.”
There was only so much Marcus knew she could take before he would have to step in, lest a poor merchant be challenged to more of an execution than a fight. He held his hand out between them, giving his most diffusing smile despite taking slight offense on Scarlett’s side. “We’ll help you. It shouldn’t take too long, right?”
“What a relief!” the woman beamed. “My name is Ester, pleasure to meet you. You are?”
“Irritated,” Scarlett muttered.
“I’m sorry, dear, I was referring to this lovely man.”
“Marcus.” As much as he wanted to dispel the steadily building tension, his smile was faltering with each insult thrown his partner’s way. He wasn’t so sure he wanted to help anymore, or at the very least, he didn’t want to keep her awake for someone so unpleasant. “It’ll only take one pair of hands. I should be back before too long, Scarlett.”
Not at all convinced, she stared Ester down with the true intent to vaporize her via eyes alone, but it didn’t work. It never worked. “Return hastily, my lord,” she gave in, “There is an abundance of snakes in these woods.”
Ester’s right cheek dimpled with amusement. Marcus scratched the back of his neck and looked between them one last time, afraid he might not get a very happy welcome back once he returned. “Right, then.” Reluctantly, he held out his hand. “Shall we go?”
“I’d be delighted.”
Waking up the second time was painful.
Marcus lifted his face from the ground with dirt caked in his mouth, a momentary distraction from his wrists being roughly tied behind his back in old ropes. It didn’t take a stretch of imagination as to how he got here. All he needed to assume was that his own stupidity got him into this situation, and that a firm lecture would be awaiting him once he escaped or got rescued, just like he suspected when he left. But maybe it was still stupid to assume either of those things would be so easy. Ester was grinning down at him from what felt like so far above, too far for him to believe she was a simple merchant anymore.
She had been as delighted as she said when they left. She was delighted all the way into the deep woods, an uncomfortable contrast to the bumbling men in silence behind her, and to Marcus’ increasing quiet suspicions about how far they would have to walk. He had wondered if he was extra paranoid due to being without a bodyguard, or because Ester, as he began to realize, was actually a little creepy. And now, he knew that he really should have gone with that gut feeling.
What tipped him off was their proximity to the border of the woods, and the slow realization that unless all six of them were dumb as rocks or looking for squirrels to help with repairs, they would have gone in the other direction to look for help. Among the infinite very avoidable reasons for his kidnap was that he realized this at the exact wrong time, just as Ester gave a two fingered signal to the brawny man walking too close behind him and then- black. It explained the ache in the back of his neck at least. Now he needed an explanation for the abduction in the first place.
“What do you want with me?” he demanded. The ropes were really starting to dig into his wrists. With wavering belief in himself, he hoped that if he could keep a conversation going long enough, he could find a way to convince her to cut them.
Ester only rolled her eyes, twiddling a dagger between her thumb and forefinger. “They always say things like that,” she mused, receiving a knowing grin from the lackey by her side. “We don’t want you. We want gold from the people who want you, that’s all there is to it. Are you really so self-important?”
Gold. Marcus knew of one person willing and able to pay that price for him. He tsked, utterly refusing to lower his head in any way. “Well, it seems I am rather important. I wouldn’t pay a single copper for you if it was fake.”
“Shut him up.”
Ester’s words were cool, unlike the brutal force of the kick to his face. He almost couldn’t fathom the pain for a second; it apparently wasn’t important for them to keep him looking good on his way to whoever wanted him. That much also added up pretty well. He grimaced, spitting blood from his busted upper lip. In truth, he did think it best to shut up. But he hadn’t been listening to his own best advice up until this point, so why start now?
“Are you that insulted? A woman who restrains and assaults a man who offered his hand to her in a time of need, and all without a price...You must not like the truth.”
“You must not like your face. Hit him again.”
Ester’s satisfaction was no longer present when Marcus was struck again with the pointed toe of a boot, purposefully aimed in the same spot. Shuddering, he sucked in a deep breath through his teeth, both glad and surprised that they were all still there. His spin was tingling with the desire to curl up or turn away, to at least bow his head in the slightest as primitive self defense, but still he refused.
She saw quickly that he would not cry out. Not very easily. For a moment there, Marcus was foolish- and pain dizzied- enough to believe she would respect that and stand down. That was impossible to expect from a person already so dishonorable. She gave another signal, and suddenly a slow groan broke from Marcus as his hair was yanked back, forcing him to chafe his own wrists to bleed by struggling against the ties. He could make himself stay strong, but he couldn’t make his body resist instinct. And there it was again, that sickening satisfaction. If only she knew what was coming.
He just had to bide his time.
“That...gold you speak of,” Marcus got out through grit teeth, “You weren’t paid upfront?”
Ester narrowed her eyes, watchful green irises flickering. She hadn’t yet commanded his release, but was clearly listening. “You’re so keen on telling me what an untrustworthy wench I am. Do you think anyone would trust me to do my job?”
Marcus tried to respond, cut off by the poorly stifled grunts of distress. She held out her hand and his head was shoved forward, then let go of. Ropes be damned, he wanted to at least wipe the dripping maroon from his lip. “You didn’t abduct me out of malice, just greed,” he panted, “The man who promised to pay you...knows how naive greed can make a person. He knows you have to resort to this to get by, and that’s why he’s taking advantage of you.”
“I see. Lashing out at me didn’t work, so now I’m the poor, misunderstood girl. Who’s trying to take advantage of me again?” Ester’s eyes were aflame now. He hit a sore spot, and now the risks were dire. To say the wrong thing might get him killed out of rage. Saying the right thing might get him cut loose under the condition of never speaking of this again. If he wasn’t so dizzy, he might say the odds were in his favor.
“A man with gold to spend on just one person, and one this easy to capture? What makes you think he’ll even keep his promise?” The more Marcus went on, the less he could tell what Ester was thinking. She walked circles around him and still could not seem to come to a conclusion, struggling to piece it all together in her head. Her men watched her in silence with heads slightly bowed. “He’s manipulating you. With all that money, he would have spent it on someone who doesn’t need to rely on promises. Someone who wouldn’t have to go about nasty tricks just to catch their bounty.”
He said the wrong thing after all, somewhere along the lines. She’d had enough. He saw the look in her eyes, and he realized for the first time since they met hours ago, he was suddenly terrified of her.
The first slap to his cheek was nothing- only compared to what followed. It made it a panic inducing struggle to regain breath when she sent him backwards from a kick to the chest, an obvious attempt to be taken seriously. Which he did. He took the deadly burning in her eyes very seriously, certain she would have killed him when gripping her dagger and looking at him with a thirst for precisely his blood. If she’d only been hasty about it, and not taken her sweet time eliciting agonized hollering out of him by dipping the point between his ribs, piercing him with a sensation he was sure to never forget. It got worse by the second, warm at first with the leak of blood until it was absolutely scalding him, as if she were branding him on the inside.
She was going to kill him. That was what she wanted, but Marcus was right to trust how much time he had. Though he would have liked to avoid the new incision that opened his side, he saw from the corner of his eye’s fading vision a face who would not let him die. A face who was very tired because she had not slept at all, but rather had been waiting all this time for his promised return. And now must have traversed an entire forest alone to find him here.
It didn’t matter how tired she was; finally finding Marcus and seeing this woman on top of him, Scarlett was snapped awake, cutting down any man who got in her way with attention to speed over fatality and meeting the surprised turn of Ester’s head with the full brunt of her sword. Marcus would have been amazed if she survived even that, but he muttered a tremoring “Stop-” anyways for her sake, freezing Scarlett in her deadly motion.
“My lord-”
“Leave her,” Marcus choked, struggling again at the ties in the urge to put his hand over his side. Once she severed them, he didn’t know whether to bother rubbing his sore wrists or try to stop whichever part of his body from bleeding. He settled on one palm over his ribs, one nervously feeling over his lip. It wasn’t too bad, nor as excruciating to touch as the cut, but it stung far worse.
“My lord, she was going to kill you.” Scarlett was in utter disbelief. What could this woman have said to him to warrant a defense? His good heart was what got him into this situation. She deserved the fate she had coming to her.
Marcus shook his head as though watching exactly what she was thinking, something she didn’t doubt he could do but horrified her all the more that he still disagreed. Everything simply hurt too much to talk. At least enough to explain himself at length.
“Not death,” he muttered, “Just...leave her.”
Scarlett opened her mouth to object, but the argument was petty when she observed every aching inch of Marcus’ body. He needed help more than this woman needed to die. Knelt by his side, she ripped the sleeve from her shirt and dabbed it over his lip before pushing it over his ribs and shrinking back at the whimper that escaped him, much to his embarrassment. There wasn’t much she would be able to do here. If they were a little closer to camp…
“Don’t worry-” Marcus tried, effectively coughing all over Scarlett instead of intelligible words. She was too focused on stopping his bleeding to care. “They’ve got to have their own camp somewhere nearby.” He really could read her mind. She watched him carefully, letting her eyes eventually wander past the trees that surrounded them here.
“You don’t want me to kill this woman, but you do want to steal their supplies?”
“She doesn’t deserve death,” Marcus repeated, shuddering with each breath he took. “But I deserve some of her bandages.” She hadn’t pierced any sort of organ, but the cut was deep enough to stretch every time he inhaled. As soon as Scarlett saw this, she put a hand over his mouth.
“You’ll make it worse if you keep on talking.”
She felt him grinning underneath her fingers, a slight reassurance that he would be okay but frustrating nonetheless. If they took him all the way here, it was probably because they were indeed camped nearby. And as people of this ilk, they were bound to expect violence on their own end. How could he think so far ahead and still get himself into this much trouble?
“Scarlett,” Marcus whispered. Her attention was snapped back to him, hand poised delicately over his wound. “Don’t kill her.”
“I’m not going to,” Scarlett said, hushed in return. She could see all to clear that his eyes were becoming hazy, half-lidded and barely focused. The scars weren’t overbearing, but the panic must have been. A second later, he really would have been dead. She’d almost forgotten how long it had been since he even slept in the first place. “We’ll find the camp...They’ve got to have plenty that can help you.”
Marcus gave a little nod, letting his head turn to the side into the nature’s comfortable pillow, dirt. She brought the cloth away from his wound and sat rigid all of a sudden, finally having noticed all the red that had already stained the ground despite her attempts at controlling it. Whatever the dagger pierced, it was deeper than they thought. It was still gushing, no matter what pressure she held over it.
Marcus smiled back at her unknowingly, sparking a horrible sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.
“Can we sleep first…?”

the dangers of dabblers
It’s important to remember VLD isn't being run by anyone who loved the original so much they were desperate to do a remake/reboot. This was completely top-down: someone at Dreamworks thought it’d make a popular franchise cornerstone, and of course they’d want to hire some or all of the team that made AtLA/LoK into a pop-culture juggernaut. (It’s worth noting that by S3 a lot of those names had moved on: several directors, and at least two writers.)
Somewhere there’s an interview with the EPs where they admitted they walked into their first DW meetings unable to remember who was the original main character. I think JDS thought it was Sven (Shiro), while LM was certain it was Keith. Or maybe vice-versa. Point is, I doubt either had thought of the series in years, and their vague recollection was sketchy, at best. (And apparently didn’t care enough to freaking google it, either, which says volumes.)
Which means that given it’s the EPs’ role to set the story’s outlines, we have two people aware enough of the original work to instinctively mix it up, just like fanfic would. But at the same time, they lack a strong-enough tie to the original work, which means they don’t feel obligated to slavishly mimic the original, either.
Sometimes that combination goes well. Sometimes, it doesn’t.
If you’re used to fanfic, you've seen this before: a new writer in the fandom, and you check their stats to find they’ve written fifty, a hundred, or more stories -- but never more than one or two, maybe up to five, in any one fandom. They write and move on -- and to them, your treasured fandom is just one in a long line. They’re not emotionally invested, and they see this as freedom to do whatever they want, without guilt.
Sometimes, a dabbler's stories will give readers a fresh view from a semi-outsider’s perspective. But those cases are successful, imo, because they still respect the fandom; the ones who don't inevitably end up writing interesting premises that devolve into frustrating disasters. The fault lies in their disinterest in playing with care in someone else’s sandbox -- and I don’t mean the original creators. I mean the fandom itself.
The first hint will usually be a certain amount of apathy towards the canonical main character(s). The writer will instead latch onto a secondary or a tertiary character, layering on head canons and tilting canonical events like a funhouse mirror. For readers at least passing familiar with canon, it can be cool to see it from new angles, if sometimes a little disconcerting.
This is fine, so long as the writer values their chosen replacement protagonist to the same degree they're convincing readers to do so. Without that loyalty, the dabbling writer will have no qualms tossing that character aside to turn their attention elsewhere. If, as a reader, you were willing to emotionally invest in this secondary or tertiary character getting the spotlight -- I’d be quite surprised if you’re all that happy when the writer bastardizes them for plot convenience, assuming they don’t get bored and abruptly drop that character completely.
Unfortunately, when a writer’s just passing through, there’s little point in complaining. They don’t get it. They don’t get the story, they don’t get the characters, and they’re not emotionally invested enough to even try. At best, they’ll be baffled. At worst, they’ll retaliate with outright disgust -- or even malice -- when readers cry foul.
(If you think it wasn’t textbook when the EPs complained bitterly about how the execs ‘made’ them put Shiro back in, then you haven’t been in fandom nearly as long as you think you have.)
For all the talk of nostalgia goggles, VLD as delivered displays minimal respect for -- and hardly any emotional investment in -- the original. Which, okay, fine: but neither do the EPs display any respect for -- or emotional investment in -- their own version of the story.
And that’s a major problem.
You can see it in how the EPs skipped the basics in character creation: hand-waving character ages, head-canoning their own original characters (seriously?), and failing to provide even simple backstories. Even beginner writers instinctively know the value of nailing down a character's base stats: age, height, weight, race, sexuality, family history. These details inform characterization, and I will never get over my astonishment that the EPs not only skipped this fundamental step, but that they'd be so dismissively nonchalant about having done so.
You can see it in how the EPs are utterly baffled by the popularity of the Keith/Lance ship. For that matter, you can see it in how the EPs sprinkled numerous Allura/Shiro hints in S1/S2, and seem completely ignorant of the effect. Just like with real people, when we're lukewarm about a character, we struggle to see why someone else would care, so we’ll miss major shipping potential. Add in what sounds like a real lack of genre savvy, no wonder the EPs had no clue they’d created some powerful fandom bait.
You can see it in how the EPs will freely torque characters or worldbuilding to push plot or manufacture conflict, even if that requires a character contradict what they’d said only minutes before. Or how the EPs drop character arcs, fail to create compelling stakes, and break internal consistency without even bothering to lampshade. You can see it in how the EPs never follow through on consequences; when you really give a damn about a character, you want those consequences because that heralds growth.
You can see it in how the EPs don’t seem bothered by making Allura beg for a lion, or lingering on her terror, or even just demoting her. Or the fact that they’ve kept racial dogwhistles in the dialogue. A hallmark of emotional investment is empathy with others who feel the same, and the EPs have evinced little empathy for viewers angry and upset over the way Allura’s been reduced to a magical plot device.
You can see it in how the EPs dismiss the #notmyshiro contingent; they’ve moved from surprise to mild irritation at questions about when the ‘real’ Shiro will come back. Or how they laugh about -- veering close to mocking -- viewers upset by the ‘clone’ issue. If the EPs had any loyalty to the Shiro they’d created, they would’ve known that reaction was coming.
You can see it in how the EPs shrug at marketing material with out-dated or non-canonical information. You can see it in how the EPs don't know or care that the comics ignore -- if not outright contradict -- the story's rules. They're supposed to be running this show, but they act like passive bystanders with no stake in the game. They don't just disavow any authority; they frequently even deny any knowledge. A writer is a gatekeeper of their own story, and the EPs have failed on multiple counts to gatekeep with any diligence.
Now, all that said: it's entirely possible that behind the scenes, none of this is true. It could be the EPs fight daily to have insight into marketing material, or that corporate politics has marginalized them in the creation process for vlogs, comics, toys, or whatever else. It could be that they lie awake at night, agonizing over where the story is going, and wanting to do right by the world they've created.
If this is true, they're utterly failing to communicate any of that. What we get in their interviews and public appearances are EPs who don't take their story seriously, aren't emotionally invested, and for the most part seem kinda surprised anyone else is.
And truth is, it’s damn hard to care about a story when even the creators don’t.
