i dont yap very much cause i dont like annoying ppl but i felt like talking about it. lately ive been very demotivated from doing art to the point i barely draw cause i feel afraid of ppl getting mad at me for stylizing my art a lot. i used to post my art a lot on tiktok cause thats a decent place to gain views, im struggling to gain interactions everywhere else so, but these past year have been AWFUL in the art community on there.
ppl are very mean if you dont draw a certain way, if your anatomy isnt perfect, etc. if your on tiktok and apart of the art community im sure you know what im talking about.
my issue wasnt very big but i was picked on a lot for how i drew, so much that ppl got mad over what clothes i put on characters(someone was unhappy i put a jacket on monty ig..) and ofc, i draw freddy as a bigger guy.. ppl dont like that very much.
i tried drawing more generic anime art(???) improving my anatomy and making it less stylized which is nice, but i feel burnt out for some reason when i draw these days. maybe im lazy or just bad at drawing better but i look at my older fnaf art and i miss drawing like that, i wanna return to it.
im just scared ppl will get mad at me again ;;; ppl are allowed to not like my art but they dont have to be mean about it. ive stayed off tiktok for awhile and i wanna return to my simpler artstyle, still with improvements ofc.
i hope you guys dont mind 🙏
heres a wip of a redraw and sorry for the yapfest

Hello, Dema here!
First off—I have fallen desperately in love with your artworks. You have a very particular style, strong and fluid all the same, and I can't help but admire the way you draw and how you approach character design.
And talking about character design...
I saw your post about Zuko's bold design in S1 when compared to what we got in S3 and—as much as I love S3-Zuko—I completely agree with you. Something I've always loved about Zuko in S1 is just how striking he was, how much of a presence he had, even when he was being tossed around by a twelve-year-old. That being said, I love Zuko, I love him in armor and pointy shoes and with a ponytail, and I loved your alternative design for him.
What do you think about his S2 character design? How does it flow with the story beats and his overall character arc? Much has been said about the Hair-Growth-Means-Character-Growth (and I find it interesting, also, that he cut his hair again before joining the Gaang), but I'd like to know your opinion on how that translates to character design and how the decisions made in the show could be either good or bad in that regard.
Sorry about the long ask! I've just been thinking about this a lot, lately, and would like to know what you think. Hope you have a good day ❤️
AAAA Dema hii!!! I'm so happy I got a message from you, I didn't expect it!!
I'm super glad to hear, I'll wear it as a badge of honour and I must tell you that I also love your art, you wonderfully do volume and the shading done through a contrast of sharp and soft areas! Super solid anatomy too and I'd be lying if I said I didn't look up to your art!
Yess the character designs in the show actually are rather strong, I like a good balance between memorable and functional. Zuko is just *chef kiss* but, considering just how many appearance changes he goes through, some are bound to be weaker than the starting one. That said, I'm gonna go through a few of his S2 looks and make this reply long, ha!
The starting one when he ends up huddling with uncle Iroh with other poor refugees, fits extremely well for the narrative at the moment. It's actually one of my least liked looks for him, and that's great!! It's precisely how it should be, because he's also arguably at one of his two lowest moral points in the story - he basically lost almost all hope, no clear goal, nothing to fight for, he's desperate precisely because of the lack of orientation and thus his morals degrade and sink veeery low. He gets on my nerves so goddamn much in this period LMAO I want to beat him up, he looks like a recovering drug addict... annoying, entitled whiny jerk stealing food and anything shiny for his uncle, but even then he just does not cross the moral event horizon. Excellent characterization. He just looks atrocious and it's great because it fits this low point.
Next he gets the standard boyish square of a hair, no notes here...
But theeeen, he arrives at one of my favourite looks of his, and it's not just because the clothes fit him very nicely (I've seen fandom say they look too big for him which, maybe?? But it doesn't look like he's swimming in them to me) And a thing I've noticed which, maybe it was just an accident on design part but I'm not sure considering they colour coded the entire cave scene; in this part his clothes match the shape of Katara's, first one in bottom then the one in top. The collar is the same haf-circle design but I don't know, maybe there was a limited pool of clothes designs guide which they cycled through. Or, he really is meant to come close but miss Katara by a beat, like sine and cosine chasing each other.
But besides this outfit fitting the inconspicuous Earth Kingdom customer service persona, it also (perhaps inadvertently) does this VERY cool thing:
It makes his shape look closed off and guarded, supposedly non-threatening. It's most visible in his fight against Jet, whose shape is open and goes in many directions like an aggressive star. But then look at what Zuko's shape does:
When he attacks, it opens up to reveal the hidden aspect, again the aggressive star shape shows up! The same thing happens in "Zuko alone" episode but I think it's most clearly visible in this fight against Jet because here he has a direct contrast and comparing with Jet. I think this is an example where the outfit, whose similar design exists irl, overlaps with a great visual metaphor and enhances the narrative at that moment in story. He's still that combative firebender but he has to keep that aspect concealed most of the time. Plus it just looks badass as hell!!
Animators really knocked it out of the park with many frames. I think Jun was too early and missed his better hairstyle, but Katara was just in time.
I agree it's super funny how his hair in the Beach is awfully long, covers his face to an uncomfortable degree and then he apparently shortens it before joining the Gaang, insane behaviour Truly an "I'm so angry and depressed I won't show my face nor be capable of seeing anything because there's nothing nice to see in my life" look...
I guess all his appearances in S2 cover his mental states, but only one of them is extremely Extra (the tea server, doesn't even take the apron off and goes to fight) and I don't see any spot where a similar tier design could be shoved in, narratively speaking. So all in all, S2 did as much as S2 could have. More tea server arc please though, the Guru episode really feels like it skipped 800 km of plot and everything that happened in it is so crammed and pretty sus in terms of character behaviour.
#Thank you for the ask!!#I just rambled and I'm sure I didn't cover everything like I was supposed to#zuko#atla designs analysis#my art

Is there an 18th century manuscript in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? This is the question that opens chapter II of The Hound of the Baskervilles, this week's Letters from Watson.
I have been distracted by the long-s, which appears in manuscripts from the 17th through early 19th century. If Mortimer's manuscript was printed, there are numerous rules that apply to use of long and short s. But surely it's handwritten? In that case, the long-s would appear only in double-s combinations. There are 16 such in the manuscript. I resisted the urge to try formatting the text to see if any of them would appear near a fold, peeking out of a pocket.
Since there's a period of more than a century when long-s is commonly used, Holmes must also be drawing conclusions from the paper, or the shade of the ink, or the style of the handwriting (or printing?).
“You have presented an inch or two of it to my examination all the time that you have been talking. It would be a poor expert who could not give the date of a document within a decade or so. You may possibly have read my little monograph upon the subject. I put that at 1730.” “The exact date is 1742.” Dr. Mortimer drew it from his breast-pocket.
That "or so" in Holmes' boast is doing a lot of work.
Since the document refers to Lord Clarendon's work, which is The History of the Rebellion and Civil Wars in England (written 1646-8, published 1702-4), the Great Rebellion must be the conflict between royalists and Parliamentarians that led to the execution of King Charles I, the Commonwealth under Oliver Cromwell, and eventually to the UK becoming a constitutional monarchy.
"Godless" Hugo Baskerville sounds like standard demonization of the royalists as debauched and corrupt. However, since Baskervilles apparently held their land consistently through the entire period, they may also have been good at either playing with whatever side was winning or keeping their heads down.
Hugo is neither a nice nor a good man, so there's a certain glee in his being struck down by a slavering hell hound.
In contrast, Sir Charles Baskerville possesses "amiability of character and extreme generosity." His fortune made in South Africa was, nonetheless, derived from exploiting native peoples -- unless he was running a sugar cane plantation in Natal, in which case he likely shipped in indentured servants from India to exploit as workers. (I'm being terse because British colonialism in Africa was an endless pit of awful -- and also heavily romanticized in literature -- and I'm on the verge of ranting into topics where I may have details blurry. The Guardian has a piece.)
The two ethnic groups Mortimer and Baskerville discussed as "comparative anatomy" would today be San, foraging people who rejected British efforts to turn them into farmers and who... oh bloody hell, were deliberately hunted with approval of the government. The other is the pastoral Khoekhoe, who raised sheep and cattle. Did the British colonies try to enslave the Khoekhoe as labor? Of course they did.
By the standards of the day, Sir Charles Baskerville was not a prime candidate to be haunted by his conscience, nor by hell hounds, though.
I'm not even touching Murphy the traveler, whose testimony is suspect due to drink. Argh.
Surely Sir Charles' tip-toe stride was running? But what of his facial contortions? I feel immediate distrust for Mr. Stapleton, based on nothing but James Mortimer's liking him.
The list of people I wouldn't mind seeing eaten by a hell hound is growing. How long will it be before Holmes unravels who really did what to whom?

~ Hanta Sero x Reader ~
My Darling, My God
Hanta Sero x (Female) Reader
NSFW, 18+
Warnings: Mentions of smut (mutual masturbation, cumming untouched), mentions of weed/smoking, alcohol, mentions of god. Reader uses female pronouns and has female anatomy.
Word count: 800 words
A/N: I don’t own the fan art or rights to it. If you know the artist, please let me know so I can credit them.
------------
On occasion, Hanta will choose to sink back into the darkness that resides at the end of your bedroom. He takes up the chair that sits in its place, right where he expects it to be, unmoving since he last made use of it.
The dull shards of remaining light peaking through the curtains reflect off of his crystal glass, drawing your attention towards his muscular forearms, which remain similarly illuminated.
That alone was enough to pique your interest.
He holds an air of mystery about him, yet somehow not one part of you is scared of the total authority he has over you in that moment.
After all, what’s yours is his.
Small crackles fill the air as a sickeningly familiar scent floods your nose. He leant forward then, sleeves rolled up to show off his admirable quirk. Placing the drink on the floor and taking a steadying drag, he instructed you to seek your pleasure, for both his benefit and yours.
His hair had grown out since you first met him, and every now and again, a strand found its way out of his loosely tied bun across his forehead. Your fingers itched to brush them from his eyes.
But they had been assigned to other, equally pleasurable roles.
He watched, eyes unmoving and completely focused, despite his obstructed view. Nothing would ever tear him away from the sight of you laid out for him.
This was his worship. You were the only god he would ever bow to and the only alter he could ever hope to pray at, from now until the end of his days. It is through nights like these that he clutches to your memory, over and over again like a broken record that he will never tire of.
Inhalations of smoke slowed, eventually stopping altogether, as the sight of you became the only intoxication he needed.
“My beautiful girl,” he said with a voice like silk, as your fingers continued to dance aimlessly over your skin; a poor imitation of the way Sero caressed you night after night. “How’d I get so lucky?”
Your eyes locked, both heart and core fluttered at his next silent command. You allowed a hand to drift lower and lower down your plush body, being sure not to rush the process.
After all, this was all for him. It was the thing he dreamt about, begged for as though he would not get the chance again, as he moaned into your mouth not an hour earlier.
Over and over, night after night, lower and lower.
Two fingers found their target, that sensitive button laying so vulnerably between folds of flesh. A shiver ran through you as you begun your ministrations again.
Growing eager, Hanta found purchase on the edge of his seat, neglected cock throbbing against the confines of his dress pants, but this only spurred him on more.
This to him, was indescribable. So intimate and forged from a love and desire so deep he was sure no others could compete with it.
His girl, his girl, was falling apart for him under his gaze. And he was the only one granted the privilege of viewing the heavenly scene.
Nothing on earth drove him as fucking wild as that thought alone did.
He had begun to salivate as his eyes drank in every inch of you. His body craved you more and more with each passing second.
The long haired man’s elevated breathing and paired animistic gaze told you all you needed to know.
He might as well have been on his knees for you. Your walls tensed around emptiness as you thought to yourself that should you ask, he would fall on the sword for you, crawl from one end of the earth to the other to make you happy.
Anything for his queen.
“Don’t wait for my word, princess,” his voice came breathy and restrained, “when you’re ready, let go for me. Need’a see you feel good for me.”
He knew he was losing control of himself and he couldn’t have cared less. Moans he could no longer be bothered to contain synchronised with your own, and his tongue was practically lulling out of his mouth at the thought of getting just one little taste of your sweet, sweet nectar; a luxury that you both knew would come later.
Needless to say, Sero never needed to touch himself when he watched you in this way.
You considered it one of your biggest achievements that you could make your pro-hero fiancé cum untouched, simply by getting yourself off.
And damn if that thought didn’t have you both seeing stars.

You know I was talking to Crim about this earlier and I felt like I might as well say it publically after watching all the clips from Lily's rant, when Lily says that the formatting of the comics Mikaila makes is because SHE told her to make it that way, I 100% believe her.
Clearly, I am no fan of Mikaila either. And clearly, Mikaila is no Dave Gibbons. Her proficiency at constructing comic, her art in general, not professional quality. Again, I try to be careful on what I comment on in regards to Mikaila's art, outside of some light ribbing, because I don't think it's a sin to be mediocre or even poor at a hobby and still enjoy it. But, believe it or not, even based on her other work, I don't think Mikaila did this on purpose.
This is me speculating, but by the way that this is constructed-- there's just certain issues with it that imply to me Lily wasn't happy with how whatever Mikaila originally put together. I feel like even an ameatur would know better than to cram this much of a back and forth conversation in a panel. Just by sheer familiarity with professional sequencing in media. I've seen novices cram ungodly amounts of text into one panel before-- but typically, it's a single character monologuing an entire paragraph.
By the strange imbalance of the elements in this piece, with all that dead space on one side, I feel like what most likely happened here is that Lily made Mikaila remake this over and over again to try and get this entire joke to fit in one panel for no reason, and Mikaila at some point just wanted this finished so she didn't have to deal with it anymore.
Mikaila's comics have never been good . . . But this seems particularly bad. Even for her.
Tangent:
1. The term Lily is looking for is "movement." Lily's not entirely wrong that when you're learning anatomy, you can kind of end up drawing very stiff figures - but that's just the process of learning a skill.
If you're struggling with this, the easiest way to practice is figure drawing sessions. It's better to do it with a live model, but there are alternatives available online.
Here's an example of a video session can do:
youtube
2. Yes you need to learn anatomy regardless of what "style" you draw in if you want to improve. I recommend you try to learn all the design fundamentals, all the rendering, painting, study techniques you can.
3. If you need to explain how to read your comic, especially over and over again, that's distinctly a sign that it's NOT legible.
4. If you're trying to format your comic for a platform where the user is scrolling down, format it vertically, not horizontally.
I have one more clip to share, but I'm going to have to do it in another post.

Thank you so much for Ecdysis. I only got around to read it today and urgh, my heart. Get this poor boy (Kazuma) a hug. But you gave him so much more (Ryuunosuke).
Somewhat chronological things that stood out to me: I loved the little snowman to indicate the change of seasons. And I was very glad to see the chibis in the following scene; it's just something I associate with you ever since The Clockmaster. I know you can draw hands; I think they look so well because you draw the nails. Anyway, this time I paid more attention to the ears though. You mentioned drawing lots of heads in different postition and the ears fit each time.
Again, thank you very much for creating and sharing this.
Hi! Thank you so much for the lovely message, it made me so happy to hear about all the little details you noticed about Ecdysis!
Ever since I started working on it I knew that I wanted the comic to encapsulate the timespan of about one year (leaving out all the flashbacks of course) and I spent some time thinking of quick visual indicators that would communicate the passage of time. The little snowman is one of them, another one would be the cherry tree outside Ryuunosuke's dorm room
from a blooming spring scenery, to slowly losing petals, cherries and in the very last frame of it it loses its final leaf :,)
A big part of all the background work for me was communicating the feeling of "temporariness" that Kazuma is so fixated on. Butterflies famously have week long lifespans. His footsteps in the snow get covered up by the new snow falling, and their footsteps on the beach get washed away by the sea. The foliage wastes away. And when he looks at Ryuunosuke on that final page on the beach there are a few shooting stars, beautiful yet gone in less than a second. All the while the snake stays and only grows in sizeeeee ; 0 ;
Thank you for the compliments about the anatomy! Ears have lowkey become my special point of interest when drawing heads, I feel like over the last year of making this comic I realised how much they can elevate the sense position/rotation of the head. Ears are objects with a lot of intricate details and it's kinda cool to try and capture all of them from an angle. I remember when I started drawing comics half a decade ago my ears had only 3 modes aka full on front ear (just a little C shape on the side of the head), full on side ear (90% of the ears were this ear lol), and the full on back ear ( which tbh is almost nonexistent in real life but gosh manga and anime is right about how it immediately puts a shitty head in perspective lol).
My newly found favourite ear to draw is the 3/4 back view when you can still see the iconic C swirl but also the back of the ear does a little peekaboo
Thank you so so much for reading Ecdysis! I put a lot of love into it and it means the world to me to hear you enjoyed it! :)

In general i really love your art style, it looks so round and dynamic. Absolutely floored by how you can make shapes pop with minimal amount of lines............ Learning each day how to draw from the masters. Thank you for posting such hardcore posts they replenish my stamina in these trying times.

a long ourank oc presentation because braem is just a writer at heart and soul.
this is honi.
honi is from my fanfic here. would be glad if you read it. would be so happy if you like it. haven't updated it in a while so below are some spoilers for us all(?)
i know. i can't draw the same face. though #Shook is my favourite.
she has longer hair in earlier designs. but then i gave her short hair and thought, oh she looks cooler. like she could be a really cool mom. that's all you need honestly. like why make your ship lovers when you can get kingdom management done with the spiCE that is legal union!
'scuse me. kept the long hair for her younger-tween looks, anyway - wasn't mentioned why in the fic but let's just say that making it to the underworld was life changing. one way or another. she got a scar on her left cheekbone after her twenties (so yeas, i forgot the middle one im sorry).
here's our man because why not. we crave loose hair desha in this house.
im so bad at drawing crowns.
i was keen on the idea of someone to balance desha's personality out, instead of the complete opposites-attract. coz this here is a brash and unapologetic man who mercilessly cackles and taunts bojji and domas at the first meeting. half the fun will be when someone doesn't really flinch at that. tempers him down a bit or countering and riling him up to make firecrackers is what I want to see.
pink ram-lion babies coz why not
honi was nearly engaged before - somewhat more experienced in the field? but things happened and romantic pursuits were shelved before they met. honi acknowledged that he was a man early on in their meeting, but after making up and a few more formal encounters assured her that he was worth being friends with. worth the days-long flight just for a few weeks of teasing, good mead and mushroom pies.
after the winter breakfast but she's still confused.
figuring out she has feelings was a breakdown on a catastrophic level.
but eh, iss all good.
cuties.
not officially engaged but at least the lightning discharge was minimum.
that's all, i guess. some wish-wash, fluffy, alternate-or-future universe musings.
(but then in the manga the ominous naration was like, desha never returned and the underworld fell into ruin *cue queen elinor toppling chess pieces* (overthinking desha's pre-canon shonen arc and how his power is what made him rank 2nd as well as keep order in the multirace, monstrous underworld). in case reclaiming the throne won't work the option is mountain-nymph!honi or passing-farmer-girl!honi. pick.)
(but also the idea that if the canon queen is the persephone counterpart and was on the overworld for her six months deal when the whole season 1 happened is also great. which makes it hilarious if they met during part 2 coz she'd be like 'what tf happened to you?' and heartbreaking if he doesn't remember her. would be fantastic if she's any sort of queen like hiling and stubbornly gets shit done - might have a crisis that she cant find despa or ouken around, or launch some curses to the judge. but I don't know abt canon-queen. only the writer knows what might happen. as long as it isn't some poor excuse of a girl-failure of a villainess miranjo is, I'll be satisfied.)
sometimes i worry if my art will be considered ai work due to my poor anatomy but i swear it's really just a poor concept of anatomy😭 i have so MUCH to improve on digital painting. lighting, shadowing, composition, their size difference—they say the captain is 265 and desha's around the same height in the artbook. honi's like 180 and she's still so tiny! next to him despite being taller than average.
bonus, somewhat suggestive comic below.
double bonus: i think they both agree that domas is a joke and keeping 2000 km distance with miranjo is a must
#aka look at my portfolio#surprise surprise :D#i love wispy hair that consist of mere lines: a discovery#ousama ranking#ranking of kings#王様ランキング#ousama ranking fanart#fanart#braem makes art?#king desha#desha#braem's honi#ranking of kings fanart#canon x oc#oc art#ibis paint x#i'm still anxious abt putting art out#but yeah there

Mask - The Making
Mask is a character i made for a RPG(D&D) campaing that my friend made for me and his friends, and at the start i didn't want to make his existence a big deal, but because my firend allowed us to use our own worlds as the origins for our characters i thought: "wow i can use my OCs world for this" and with that i thought of Stella and Roby;
These two are a couple i made to explain in a future comic, how Demons and Sinners work, since Stella is a full blood demon and Roby is one of the many revived Sinners in HellHome.
With both of them in mind i thought i could make a character that would be a mix of them, so yeah, a child for them.
First i wanted to make him very, VERY similar to Stella, for lore reasons of course, and with that my first thought was make him skinny to fit the scared/shy personality i thought for him, not many clothes and those that he has be a little bit worn out to show his poor origins and his lack of self care.
As you can see at the time he was a very skinny, weird looking little guy. But i thought he fitted in the old parents design, and i went with it, but little by little i was getting more used to buff/stong-person anatomy and i let myself have fun changing him a bit as i used to draw our RPG characters.
This was the token i used in the sessions, making him a bit more chubby to fit his large body(his 2,27cm / 7,4 feet {if i'm not wrong}), my friend who was the DM (Dungeon Master) was very happy with my support role, and how the character was looking, but as we finished the first arch and were given a new scenario for our character to live in, i decided to change him a lot since he was living in better conditions are lore reasons.
This was the first time i made him actually buff/strong and looking confident a lot, i really like the clothes i picked for him, and i really think it fits his character arch at the time, even tho' i admit it seemed a bit too punk at the time because of my new found obsession with punk style at the time.
After that, i made little to no change to his design, only taking and adding new things here and there to make the session more alive for me.
Making a few drawings of him with an NPC he was in a relationship with made me feel more comfortable drawing him, speacially in comforting/fluff ways because his story is about being alone/negleted/looked-down-on and being in need and giving a character like that comfort gives me a very good feeling and slowly but surely, i became to adopt him as my own comfort character.
As i focused in other stories i always see myself looking and drawing him again, when i'm sad, when i'm happy, when i just bored, and for me his design is a bit complicated but i found myself doing it with effort anyway, i didn't even notice i was doing it until the start of this year (2024).
And now here i am drawing him here and there, making up new stuff for his story and adding him to my world and being happy as he should always be for now on.
Today (06/09/24) i made redesign of his parents to fit my style now, and to add to his and my other characters story.
I can't reveal much of why i only changed some things and others stayed the same because that's lore stuff, but i'm so much happy with these designs because now i can do complicated poses, 2 characters in the same drawing, and proper body types and clothes.
And with that i thought: "why not show my overthinking of Mask's design while making his character more complete during the years i drew him" and now here they are:
And with that i end this post, that i made on only to not forget, but to save this amaizing big little guy that i mde for fun and only loved more and more as time went on, and to possibly inspire whoever sees this to keep your ideas, change them, take and add things to it until you're happy with the final thing, if it is final at all. Be happy with what you make! :]
And i hope you guys are happy as i am while finishing this post, i'm gonna try to start using tumblr a lot lot more because i've been inspired lately and i hope to someday create a comunity that likes what i do and do cool and fluff stuff like it! Until then Bye Bye!! ;]

Sorry if I write to you, I hope you are having a good day, especially since Christmas is approaching so, Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
Seriously though😅, I wanted to ask you some questions, I was hoping to write them to you individually, but I think it's better to make a compilation.
Although some may seem a little uncomfortable to you; you don't have to answer all of them, just the ones you want, there aren't many anyway😅
Well here they go:
1.-Could you say if of all the drawings you have made, which one is your favorite?
2.-Are you still making commissions? I just want to make sure, if I would like to ask you for a few, since your art is very precious
3.-I think this is the most difficult, I was talking to some friends to see if you could give us permission to do dubbing for several of your comics (be it Subnautica, Death's Gambit, Kenshin, Death Wolf and with your Oc Life) Even if you don't want that, I could just publish them on YouTube without audio (obviously giving you the respective credit) so what do you think?
4.-This is a bit personal, personally I really like nature and I would really like to be able to draw like you do, so I was wondering, how do you make the animals, both their gestures and their reactions, look so realistic and so natural? Your style is really fascinating to me
5.-This is a bit embarrassing😳, but what series could you recommend about nature? I know, it's very, very strange😓, but in my country they don't broadcast those series much, so if I really would like to watch them streaming
They seemed more in my mind, but I think that's all, again thanks for reading and I hope you have a Happy New Year.😊
Okay, let's go in order :D
1 - Most likely something old and meme like these sketches of my dog. Sometimes you look back and remember that life used to be simpler somehow x))
If more serious, it's probably this sketch. Now this place is fenced off and there's construction going on. But the memories remain
2 - Commissions are open, yes 👀 3 - Oooh, I'm interested to see it! Keep me in the loop ✨ 4 - Difficult question… Maybe, it's more a matter of exaggerating the animals, as is usually done in animation. My characters have features closer to real animals, but something distorted for the sake of expressing some emotion (well, plus my poor knowledge of the anatomy). Here, I think, everyone decides for himself how much to lean in one direction or another
disgruntled potato x) 5 - I don't know much about TV series… I can recommend "All Creatures Great and Small". It's not really about nature, it's more about people. But it's the life of a veterinarian in the 40s. I mostly watched old serials and documentaries, like Walks with dinosaurs, monsters, beasts, etc., Ten Deadliest Sharks, Dragons Alive, Weird Nature and various other bbc movies from the noughties. Thanks for questions! And Happy New Year too! 🎄✨

I'm a different anon, but I'm sorry to hear your audience fiddled out with the nsfw ban from years ago! Your art is absolutely gorgeous, and the way you present your ideas in them is so unique! Especially with the Chinese zodiac animals and the quotes you have for each of them!
Also, I'd like to ask how you started making art. I'm very interested to hear the personal journey of artists. Did you always like drawing animals, for instance? Did you go to art school or to a training of some kind, like ateliers? And do you make traditional art too, or is it all digital?
Oh thank you so much!! I do my best as I really want to just keep making art for as long as I'm alive. I'm really happy to hear you say it's gorgeous and unique ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ _ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ ) Yeah it is unfortunate, but I still like being here and sharing art on here, so who ever is here to enjoy it, I'm glad! I only hope new people stick around and old ones come back, I've certainly missed getting to interact and chat like this! Oh how cool! I'm honoured ahahaha I'd love to answer these q's into my process and profession so far: I absolutely have always liked drawing animals. It started with dinosaurs, cats and dragons, I loved them all as a child, just their whole concept and how cool I thought they were! I wanted to get good at drawing so I could depict them and make my own designs, and in learning how to draw their anatomy (mostly big cats) my mom got me a book that had all sorts of animals in it and how they worked and how to render these forms. I devoured the book and I gained an interest in all animals through drawing and learning from it. From there I kinda just delved into researching whatever animal piqued my interest! Not to mention dragons (one of my prime interests) are amalgam creatures and so in my pursuit in being able to draw any kind of dragon, knowing a whole lot about different animals is a huge boon in designing them! I did, I actually went to a Fine Arts university as I originally was going to be a bonafide gallery artist and wanted to gain as much knowledge into different techniques and mediums and conceptualization as I could. I'm pretty poor but had stellar grades so Uni was a great option for me to get access to studio equipment and knowledge thanks to qualifying for scholarships and loans. It was like a pressure cooker for 4 years and I can only describe it as the best of times and the worst of times;; I have a Bachelor's Alma Cum Laude in Fine Arts. I do! Since I originally was going to be a physical installation artist, I know how to build and construct kinda whatever? I have a minor in sculpture and I've made something in almost every medium from paper to concrete to silicone to plasma cutting metal and more.
When I got out of Uni I unfortunately lost my access to a ton of this equipment and wasn't successful in finding a replacement studio due to the financial/location/funding cuts barriers. I kinda became disillusioned with the prospects in the art world at this time and realised this wasn't the only space where I could have a career as an artist. So I changed my focus to becoming an illustrator and character designer. I taught myself digital at the same time I was getting my degree, so I honed my skills from then to be up to snap for production level art. I'm currently art director for an indie game project rn doing exactly that! (Although this is one of three jobs I'm juggling atm, it's why I've been posting less these days, I'm quite busy ( ´ ◇`)ゞ)
That being said I still make things occasionally at my house as I still like making physical things from scratch when I have the time/money to do so! I like making masks and small sculptures, examples of these being this mask and this keychain :3c I always thought that the medium should be chosen based on what best serves the idea in mind, but most of my art is digital due to the production costs for making this art being nearly zero (as long as I have my tablet and electricity!) and having greater access to offer my artistic services with digital media ;o
#anon#risky rambles#asks#long post#i had a lot to say!#thank you for asking me all this#once I get talking I like never shut up haaaa#i hope this is interesting!#can u tell im on the spectrum?? hahaha

the people saying "oh it's a cultural difference", even when they're being respectful of the fact landlady is not happy about that guy stealing her cat photo, honestly piss me off
it is not a cultural difference. there is no grand gulf in perception of art between the UK and japan such that it's totally ok to trace photos and conceal this fact as you sell a painting for quite a lot in the UK, but frowned upon in japan. to be honest people saying that landlady is ONLY mad bc of a cultural difference are like...excusing that any wrongdoing was done in the first place. like oh this poor artist couldn't have possibly known "japanese sensibilities" would make landlady upset about this. of course, if it had been anger abt a cultural difference, it still would have been valid for her to get angry, but it's very dehumanizing because if she had been a white woman from the UK, or US, or canada, or australia, or etc, no one would be saying this. it would have been more readily understood that the artist had done something wrong
tracing from photos - or referencing them so heavily it's identical to a trace - is wrong and fucking embarrassing for public, commercial art, especially for an artist who's in fucking galleries. tracing is only okay WHEN IT'S FOR PRACTICE. i trace quite a lot to understand anatomy better, but i don't post any of that because it's not worth posting. let alone SELLING
furthermore, saying it's referenced and therefore transformative and therefore fine...if he had looked at the picture of her cats to better understand how cats look when they're doing that kind of pose, that's one thing. if he had even traced her photos to better understand drawing cats in motion interacting with each other, and then later made a piece using this knowledge he developed, that'd be fine too. hell, if he had referenced the photo and drawn that pose but drawn different cats, maybe using another reference for how the light should fall on different fur patterns, that would be yet another thing. but IDKKKKK straight up directly copying someone's photo and not saying a word abt the original photo? that's wrong to me
like would you say someone directly repainting one painting and then selling their own painting to a gallery as though it were wholly original is okay? she loves fanart of her cats, do you really think it would have been a problem had he shown any kind of respect and shown her he redrew one photo she took of her cats? but no respect was shown at all
#irks me#photography is an artform too including amateur photography#and saying it's ''cultural'' that she's mad is just#you're condescending to her because she's japanese and you see yourself as above her

Bless you 🐈⬛ anon for going there and giving us all i d e a s. I’ve never seriously sat with sounding but uhhhh queue “I hope this doesn’t awaken something in me” meme (spoilers - it definitely woke something in me)
The thing about sounding is that it is pretty much the most direct prostate stimulation you can get. I’m gonna do a small school for a second here and assign some homework for the rest of this ask (because I don’t want OP here to get the tumblr hammer for a phallic infographic) If you’re not already very very familiar with anatomy I’m going to need you to image search a “transurethral resection of the prostate” aka a TURP procedure. Done that? Okay good, moving on. Mental pop quiz in a few paragraphs
Now I want you to imagine Hob on all fours. A sound previously inserted via the Corinthian. He’s frozen. His legs are burning and shaking from holding the position. But every movement jostles the sound along his prostate. Corinthian occasionally reaches out and flicks his cock on purpose to make Hob scream out and remind him who is in charge. Is it pleasure? Is it pain? Beats Hob. All he knows is that it’s like a live wire of sensation all at once and he wants more but he dares not move on his own.
And Dream comes back to this scene. He’s smirking at the picture the two of them make. But it’s missing something - complete fullness. And well — they’ve established that Dream owns his arse soooooo it’s no business of his if the Corinthian just happens to be using his cock at the same time. So Dream does what he does best - he fills Hob up.
Remember that image? Okay now I want you to picture each of Dream’s thrusts. Every time he is fully at the hilt his cock is pressing in on Hob’s prostate. But the sound is already there and dream can feel it massage him as he slides in and out. There is no room inside of Hob. Every thrust also moves the sound and his previous work to stay still has been thrown out with the bathwater.
And poor Hob is incoherent. This is beyond overstimulation. Hob is full in a way he never even knew he could be. He’s completely frozen clinging to Corinthian’s shoulders. The nightmare claiming his lips (biting and drawing an ever so slight amount of blood he can smear along Hob’s cheeks) and clutching his very full cock and Dream clawing marks into his hips and thrusting into his hole. If he didn’t know he couldn’t die he would swear that these two would kill him right here and now.
So uhh yeah. huh. Guess I’m into sounding now. Who knew
-🫀
🫀 anon you are an actual gift from the gods. Somehow you have educated me and made me horny simultaneously. You've also awakened my latent love for sounding. And the words phallic infographic for some reason made my day.
Anyway, back to the porn. We're taking it as written that Hob loves being full of Dream. And this? This just makes it 1000x better. He’s crying and whining and drooling all over the Corinthian and he's totally reevaluating his idea of what heaven is. The Corinthian is whispering to him all about what a bad little slut he is, and Dream is fucking into him like it's going out of style, and his cock is possibly on fire, who knows, but its good. He's never done this before, and he gets to experience it for the first time with his favourite dommy bastards, and for some reason that makes him so happy inside. He probably passes out a couple of times and Dream just... keeps going. Maybe it keeps going so long he falls asleep and they both carry on fucking him up in the dreaming.
Maybe the Corinthian lets him cum, eventually. Then again, maybe he doesn't. The choice is yours 😏 it doesn't matter to Dream, bc he gets to use his favourite little cumdump either way <3

So last year I made a decision: this year I’m going to make an animatic. Or at least give it a shot. That doesn’t sound like such a big undertaking, because I’ve been doing art for years. Not consistently, but I’m not a beginner. I have a basic understanding of shadows and light, and how things work in three-dimensional space. I need to learn composition and posing, but I’m not starting from nothing. There’s just one thing. One tiny little issue with my approach that makes this lofty endeavor rather more difficult. I don’t sketch. Ever. No focus on perspective or anatomy. I just draw some circles with directional guidelines, and then I slap the line art directly on top of that. And that doesn’t exactly work if you’re going to make an animatic. I could try it, absolutely: my intent is Transformers animatics, not humans. I can just mess with boxes until they look vaguely okay. But I’m not going to do that. Because it would take forever and it wouldn’t look very good.
Which means I get to do the other thing that takes forever. I get to learn how to sketch. And that means taking away control-z and picking up a pencil.
Here are the results of my first attempt:
Did I forget to mention that I don’t draw humans? Ever? The only time I’ve ever studied human anatomy was when I was trying to figure out how cables would work with robot joints. And hair, I guess, but I was drawing that on ponies.
Suffice to say, I don’t know what I’m doing. I had to set my sketch time to two minutes because less than that had me locking up with indecision. But that page was from a week ago, so here are yesterday’s sketches for comparison:
I am happy to say that I have gotten faster: most of my figures have heads now. And I definitely do better when I have lines of action (except when I curve them the wrong way. Or don’t curve them at all, which is what happened to that poor blob in the top right). I’m also getting used to the “light and loose” lines thing, though I’m pretty sure I commit too soon. Regardless, I’ve gotten more comfortable with the concept of sketching. Which means I can move on to the next step: fixing my cryptid-level anatomy.
#Art log#I'll probably be posting these logs at least weekly to keep myself accountable#Perhaps by next week my figures will consistently have a discernable sex

You know considering cynthia was your first oc I'm surprised her toyhouse gallery only has like 30 images in it
Oh, she's got a TON of other art - I guarantee over 50 images worth - but it's all her old design that I don't really like anymore. She didn't get her redesign until I stopped being lazy and putting it off in 2021, so she's only had her current design for about 3 years and what's in her gallery is just what I have of her that's been made since her redesign.
There were also a few really old pieces, including the original drawing I made of her, that were wrecked when our basement flooded, so I don't have those anymore.
Similar issue with a few other characters, where their original art is now wrecked, or it wasn't uploaded because it's their old design or a pre-2021 art style. I have a large chunk of characters who I owned prior to 2021 and drew a bunch, but didn't upload their old art 'cause it looks bad compared to my current art style. I still have everything that wasn't destroyed by the flood, but just don't feel like uploading it outside of something like a post reflecting on how my style and skills have improved over the years.
And then for Blaze in particular, I struggled for a really long time trying to establish a style that worked for her and the rest of the TDS dragons. I have several older drawings of her yet, but none of them looked right to me. What I have now still isn't 100% like what's pictured in my head of them, but my skill level is nowhere near enough to meet that requirement. lmao I'll still probably make some tweaks in the future as my skills continue to improve, but overall I'm pretty happy with how they are. :)
Aaaaand I also have a handful of characters that I've owned for a really long time, but was lazy and kept procrastinating on drawing them because I was too focused on other stuff, so they just flat-out had zero art and no official design until sometime within the last 6 years. lol (Like poor Debbie being created in 2015 but me not drawing her for the first time until 2020...)
Another huge part of it for Toyhouse in particular is that I don't want to flood my art tab with art from before I got good with character anatomy. LOL If I ever get Premium or a free extra code somehow, I might consider making an alt just to post the old art on, maybe? IDK seems like a lot of work. lol

Untitled sci-fi project: 63 light years from earth, protagonist one wakes up and immediately begins having a minor existential crisis because she was synthetically made and had false memories implanted to make her a skilled scientist in order to study the biosphere of the earth-analogue planet, to prepare it for settlement by the 3.4 million humans arriving in a massive cryo-ship in about 3 years.
She turns over to see her girlfriend, protagonist 2, snuggled up with her pony-sized predatory alien pet, and decides she can’t waste this opportunity.
Three minutes later, the ship’s intranet meme page has a new post:
Ah, yes, me, my girlfriend, and my girlfriend’s pet armored alien horse-dog. (The alien looks kinda like this, this drawing is old and now has incorrect anatomy)
The story also features: anti-capitalism, sapient dragons that can change sex at will and breathe fire, even bigger elephant sized dragons, meditations on humanity and our relationship with nature, and entirely too much alien ecology (because this is mostly a speculative evolution project with a story set in it i might write).
Thadal: More sci-fi. The crew of Aleksader’s cryo-ship, the Genesis, expected to wake up from cryo-sleep around an uninhabited oceanic planet, ripe for colonization. They instead found that they had been beaten to the punch. A group of humans had somehow reached the system before them, and had colonized the planet long ago. Alek heads down to meet these people and is put in the care of Xandr, whose autistic special interest just happens to be old earth!
Xandr shows Alek around their home world, including its unique alien life, and simultaneously they hear a call, urging them to explore the deep, where no human has ever gone before. It’s not long before the pair discover fragments of alien technology that draw them deeper and deeper into the darkness and closer together.
And while Alek is content to learn from the people of Thadal, not all of Alek’s crew are happy with the world they’ve found, and some might yet make some poor choices.
Featuring: psychic powers, meditations on how bigotry makes people stupid, a enby main character and an ace male character, a very good alien seal-doggo named pathfinder, the means by which a society can live in harmony with the ecosystem around it, and even more alien ecology!
elevator pitch me!!!!! tell me about ur projects!!!! hiiii
#spec evo#spec bio#my art#I’m obsessed with ecology and I will not apologize for interweaving it with my stories
