🫧 Bubbles of love 🫧
Exactly one year ago, a very special game was released for the Nintendo Switch:
🫧 Super Mario Bros Wonder 🫧
And it's a game that I loved and enjoyed so much, that I decided to write a little something to celebrate it! 🎂
As I mentioned here, I came up with this idea when I was trying to fall asleep a few nights ago and wrote it in one go the following evening. Don't even ask me how, because I always take FOREVER to write a story, but in this case, and as shocking as it sounds, this story is short.
Yes. You read it right: short. Again, I don't know how, but without setting a precedent, I was able, for once, to write a story that is actually short 😂
Anyways, thank you so much to those of you who reacted to the aforementioned post to try and guess what this story might be about! You're about to find out... and I'll just say a few of you got it right 🤭 (And those who didn't, you gave me amazing ideas... I may or may not be taking notes for the future 🤭📝)
I hope it's okay that I tag those of you who showed interest, as well as some folks who I believe might enjoy this 🥰 Of course, if I'm wrong, you're more than free to ignore this post, and please forgive me for bothering you 😅

@itsavee4117 @coffeecat1983 @keakruiser @doodleydoo101 @stripetkattelalala54-gf (no rush at all of course! Take your time 🥰)

@teegeeteegee @akiiame-blog @dragon-fly34 @wahooitsamee @supergay-64
My beloved big sis @vulpixfairy1985 deserves a special mention, as you'll find a part in this story that might remind you of her beautiful story A moment together 🤭🎈 Thank you so much for giving me permission to do so, dear sister! 💖
Without further ado: enjoy! 😄🫧💖
As always, you can continue reading under the cut! Likes, comments, kudos, reblogs and any kind of feedback is always more than welcome! 🥰💖
🫧 Bubbles of love 🫧
Mario can't stop looking at Peach.
He’s been staring at her in rapt attention for a while now. Specifically, since he’s seen her touch the Bubble Flower that has caused her familiar pink dress, which suits her so well and which Mario adores dearly, to turn a shade of purple, though not a very dark one. Peach has immediately begun to throw bubbles to catch the enemies that were stalking them, facing them without hesitation, bravely and keeping every bit of her characteristic elegance untouched.
And Mario has confirmed, once again, that he’s absolutely and irremediably in love with her.
Now, fortunately, the road they’re following is completely clear. They’ve all stopped to rest together in a clearing in Pipe-Rock Plateau, and Peach, her power-up still on, is sitting on a rock and chats absentmindedly with Toadette. Mario is not even aware that he’s smiling wider than ever as he watches her; he’s just reveling in her infinite beauty, her long golden hair and deep blue eyes that resemble two sapphires, and her gestures and expressions, never lacking in sweetness and demureness.
Mario suddenly finds himself lost in thought, his mind filling with the moments they shared together on their first visit to the Flower Kingdom a year ago. How much Peach was surprised when the Piranha Plants started singing, just before she started smiling and clapping as she let herself be carried away by the music, being the first of the whole group to do so. The various races with their friend Wiggler, with whom they had such a great time, despite the dangerousness of some of the places they ran. The unexpected Halloween-themed party they stumbled upon when they arrived at Fungi Mines. How Peach liked to chase him as they dived into Petal Isles, making reaching the finish in the watery areas a fun and always healthy competition. The catchy and lively music with which the Ninjis greeted the whole group when they arrived at their hidden disco in Sunbaked Desert and how Peach enjoyed jumping to the rhythm of their melody.
The wonderful feeling of flying away clutching his cap while Peach did the same at his side, which gave them the opportunity to share a brief moment of complicity and fun that belonged only to them.
A sigh escapes Mario's lips. What he’d give to relive all those moments with his beloved princess just one more time.
What he’d give to muster the courage to go one step further and declare his love to her at last.
A loud laugh startles him and brings him back to reality. Puzzled, he turns his head in search of the source of the laughter. He smiles immediately when he notices Daisy, who, not much farther away, pulls Luigi's hand, who is also laughing, although a little more shyly and nervously. Mario notices that both of them are also using a Bubble Flower, as evidenced by Luigi's pink shirt and hat and his green overalls and Daisy's purple dress. A sudden memory assaults Mario's mind: his little brother, completely blushing, confessing to him, without looking him in the eye, that he loves how well Daisy looks in purple, as according to him, it matches perfectly with the yellow of the edges of her skirt and with her auburn hair. And, besides, it's her favorite color.
Mario's smile is full of tenderness as he watches his beloved little brother being carried away by his fearless princess. Daisy is creating bubbles incessantly and, without letting go of Luigi's hand, she starts bouncing on them, dragging the younger plumber along with her. Mario watches them while he remembers another special occasion: that time when, after taking Luigi to Sarasaland in his Odyssey ship, he began to create bubbles near the princess' balcony to invite her and Luigi to share a moment together. Mario recalls how much fun they both had, holding hands as they danced on the bubbles, the purest and most primal happiness radiating from their every gesture and face.
Mario couldn’t be happier that they’ve decided to recreate the scene they shared back then, this time being in charge of creating the bubbles themselves. Tenderness dances in his chest as he witnesses how his twin, despite his initial insecurity and reticence, gradually gains more confidence, no doubt infected by Daisy's boldness and the self-assuredness she gives him. Mario’s heart fills with joy when a laugh finally bursts from Luigi's lips, showing that all traces of fear have been buried under layers and layers of fun and bliss.
With dreamy eyes, Mario watches as, in a matter of seconds, Luigi and Daisy are dancing in the air, holding hands and surrounded by bubbles that seem to be in tune with their movements. A giggle escapes Mario as Luigi spins Daisy around and then holds her around the waist, Daisy's arms around his neck. His little brother is quite a ladies’ man.
A soft giggle then reaches his ears. Mario's attention is immediately diverted to Peach, who, like him, looks at the couple and seems touched by the happiness they radiate. It is at that moment, watching the princess cover her mouth with her hand, always so restrained, with her golden hair falling in waves down her back and her distinctive heart-shaped bangs crowning her forehead, that Mario gets the idea.
He doesn’t miss a beat and starts turning everywhere. Fortunately, his search soon pays off: not far away, at the other end of the clearing, he spots a block that, he hopes, hides a Bubble Flower. He rushes to it without a second thought, but on the way, he’s assailed by the possibility that it’s an Elephant Fruit or a Drill Mushroom. What will he do then? His plan will only work with a Bubble Flower... Although there might be something he can do for Peach if he finds himself transformed into an elephant. After all, he's pretty good at improvising.
He stops dead in his tracks as soon as he reaches the block and looks at it while giving himself a few seconds to catch his breath. His fate is locked inside that bright yellow box with a white question mark inscribed on it. His mind tries to come up with ideas, options that he could carry out in case he doesn't receive the desired power-up, but Mario has never dealt well with uncertainty.
So, without further thought, he jumps up with his fist in the air.
A beautiful flower with a pink center in which two black eyes gleam, surrounded by purple petals which, in turn, are encircled by other petals, these of a snowy white, welcomes him.
Mario laughs and lets out a shout of victory before jumping back up, hand outstretched to touch the flower at its very center. As soon as he does, he notices how his body absorbs the power-up and performs a small spin in the air as his clothes change color, his blue overalls turning red and his shirt and cap turning pink. Before he hits the ground again, he’s already created his first bubble.
Satisfied, he quickly turns around and makes sure that Peach hasn't noticed anything, as she has resumed her conversation with Toadette. A little further on, Mario is surprised to see that, among the bubbles, Luigi and Daisy are now dancing closer than ever, their mouths very close to touching. He looks away immediately; even though they’re in a clearing with their other companions, he understands that this is a very intimate moment for his brother and the princess of Sarasaland. He tells himself that he has to remember to congratulate Luigi later, but not before teasing him a little as any good big brother would do.
Determined, Mario stands with his back to everyone and begins to carry out his plan. First he creates a huge bubble to serve as a base, and on both sides of it he places two others, also very large. He has to stifle a giggle as he realizes that he’s inadvertently formed a head that reminds him of a certain very famous mouse whose tone of voice is quite similar to his, or so he has always been told. He doesn't think there are that many similarities, but he's gotten used to the jokes.
He shrugs and continues with his task. He continues to blow and originate large bubbles that he places in the appropriate positions and climbs through them as his creation takes shape. He has no idea how long it takes him, but during that time, short or long, only he and his plan exist. He completely forgets where he is and who is around him. He can only recreate in his mind Peach's beautiful face, the living image of grace and pureness, as he works tirelessly. How will she react when she sees what he’s done? Will she be very surprised? Will she be happy?
Will she be... horrified?
Suddenly it occurs to Mario that, perhaps, what he’s doing is too bold, too obvious. He may indeed be taking a big risk. With his hand outstretched and about to blow yet another bubble, Mario thinks for a few seconds. Should he stop? Should he go on? What if it's too much?
However, he immediately shakes his head. He knows he wants to do it, no matter what, and that nothing could stop him. Not when resolve courses through his veins like a fast-flowing river and floods every corner of his body.
Besides, he loves the power of creating bubbles, bouncing on them and feeling himself fly higher and higher, and what better way to finally take the step of expressing his feelings for the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom than to use them?
Mario forces the torrent of tremendous thoughts that appear in his mind to stop and ignores the rapid beating of his heart. Firmly, he finally blows and creates a new bubble with which to perform his plan, and skillfully directs it to the point where he wants to place it.
Whatever happens next, Mario is willing to take the risk.
When, at last, he blows the last big bubble that puts the finishing touch to his work, Mario sits on it with a soft snort, eyes closed, and runs his sleeve across his forehead. He smiles absently and gives himself a few seconds to enjoy the sensation of being high up. There’s not much distance between the ground and where he stands, but it’s enough for him.
When he opens his eyes, however, his serene smile is replaced by an expression full of the most infinite surprise.
At his feet, a large part of his group of friends has gathered. The two Toads and the four Yoshis gaze at his creation with amazement gleaming on their faces. Nabbit is there too, his head tilted back so as not to miss a detail, but the scarf covering half of his face prevents Mario from reading his expression clearly. Even Luigi and Daisy have abandoned their close dance to come closer to watch, and they’re both beaming with smiles full of admiration and eyes shining with enthusiasm. When his glance meets his brother's, Mario smiles sheepishly as Luigi gives him an energetic thumbs-up while winking approvingly.
Next to his twin, Mario spots Toadette, who is clapping enthusiastically, and he waves at her quickly as his brain starts to process that, if she's there, that means...
Indeed, standing by her side is Peach herself, causing Mario's throat to suddenly go dry as his heart skips a beat.
His beloved Peach, for whom he has just built a huge heart made of bubbles.
His beloved Peach, who gazes at the result of his efforts with wide eyes as she covers her mouth with both hands.
His beloved Peach, whose sparkling sapphire eyes meet his own.
Mario is speechless. Are those... tears? He can't tell for sure, as he stands at a certain height, but he could swear he’s seen something glistening in the evening sun on the sides of his princess's beautiful eyes.
To say that his heart is bouncing in his chest would be an understatement.
Embarrassment invades Mario in a sudden surge that sweeps everything in its path. He hadn't counted on having such an audience. He had hoped it could be something private, something to share only with Peach. Of course, considering that the whole group is gathered in the middle of a clearing, he supposes it was too much to ask.
Still, the plumber puts his hand to his mouth and blows again. He sends the new bubble floating gently to Peach's very feet, and she lowers her head for a moment before raising it again, questioning him with her gaze. Despite the insecurity that always floods him when it comes to her, Mario nods, his lips drawing a nervous and somewhat crooked smile, and hurries to blow a second bubble that he also sends down, though at a slightly higher distance than the first one.
And Peach, without taking her eyes off Mario, lowers her hands to grab her purple skirts and begin the ascent.
Mario's heart swells and sings as he notices the wide, radiant smile adorning the pink lips of his beloved princess.
He forces himself to hold back a giggle of joy and keep blowing. His eyes never leave Peach's, who, in turn, can't take her eyes off him. Mario watches as his princess climbs towards him, those deep eyes getting closer and closer, her approaching him as if in slow motion. His rapid heartbeat thunders in his ears, but he’d love to continue living this moment forever, to extend it in time, to never end the sweet anticipation of knowing that, soon, his princess will be with him.
He never wants to stop looking at those eyes, which, as he very well knows, can never, ever have an owner, because of the simple fact that they’re not of this world.
However, sooner than he expected, Mario finds himself having to look up slightly, as Peach has finally reached him. They both gasp slightly, but the princess’ smile is so wide and shiny, brighter than the sun itself, that Mario doubts there can be anything in the world that would be able to erase it. He was about to create a new bubble, his hand outstretched, so instead, he extends his arm a little and offers it to Peach. She lets go of her skirts without a second thought and accepts his hand, her slender, delicate fingers resting gently on his rough, calloused palm.
Mario can hardly believe his luck.
Quickly, he leans to one side and invites Peach to sit next to him in the bubble that closes the heart, which she does with diligence and gracefulness, their hands still clasped together. The instant Mario’s brain registers that his beloved princess has just taken a seat next to him and that their fingers, despite the gloves, remain touching, he feels like he might faint. The outside world disappears completely for him, as does the entire group that continues looking at them on the ground. He barely hears, as if in the background, the voices of Luigi and Daisy as they urge the others to disperse to give the couple some privacy.
At this very moment, only he and Peach exist.
When they look at each other, she seems to want to tell him so many things. Why he has just created an entire heart made of bubbles, perhaps. Why he's invited her up, only her. “You're crazy,” even.
Peach doesn't utter a word, however. She doesn't need to, for her bright, expressive eyes speak for her. Mario senses that they’re communicating, that they’re speaking despite the absence of words, that they’re having a conversation that only they understand, a conversation that springs directly from her heart and reaches into his own.
And yet, despite this, he could never have foreseen what Peach does next.
She raises her hand, causing the touch between them to break. For Mario, it's like having a little piece of his heart ripped out, like his lungs shrinking in size. He will recover, however; for a few precious seconds he’s held his princess's hand between his fingers, and nothing can take away the joy that this brief but intense contact has caused him.
Even so, before he has time to understand what’s happening, Peach's palms rest on his cheeks, so that she’s cupping his face with infinite tenderness. Mario has just short-circuited again, so he’s unable to react. Unless melting inside and feeling his face burning like the fiercest fire counts as a reaction.
And suddenly, with the swiftness of the blink of an eye, Peach's lips land on his.
Mario's heart stops suddenly.
Suddenly he’s no longer there. Suddenly, he’s gone up to heaven and he’s not even aware that he’s done so. Suddenly, his eyes can do nothing but close, his ears cut off from the outside world, his hands rise to rest on Peach's hips with a certain possessiveness that he doesn't know where it comes from, but that he’s unable to contain.
Suddenly, Mario is in heaven and does not intend to come back down.

In summary of the confusing/interesting/weird information from the Mario Kart Wii Prima Guide.
- Waluigi sells oil.
- Daisy and Peach are cousins.
- Apparently Luigi was there when she got kidnapped by aliens, Mario just did all the work. I guess?
- Toadette and Toad are siblings also both needed permission to join unlike the other racers.
It’s never made clear if these two are the same characters from the previous games unlike the other characters.
They’re also the only racers to be stated to need permission to join the race.
- Birdo moved from Subcon to Nimbus Land.
- Donkey Kong…sounds like he’s gonna join some sort of Alcoholics Anonymous but for partying and spots addiction.
- Wario owns a gold mine.
- Baby Luigi isn’t friends with Chain Chomps (Anymore), He is also scared of Baby Daisy.
- Baby Mario isn’t *just* looking for a feeding. (Who wrote this?)
- Baby Peach views Baby Mario as a rival and has beat him before.
- Koopa Troopa is the same one from the original Mario Kart, seems to remember those times fondly.
- Dry Bones has fallen apart (literally) before in a race. (Poor guy)
- Kart Wii takes place after Super Mario Galaxy, Luigi Mansion and New Super Mario Bros DS
Besides that, the order is never stated.
- Luigi put some of his treasure towards the building of Luigi Circuit.
- Yoshi bio is confusing, I think it’s saying that he owns the giant egg that’s rolling around but it can be read as him returning to his giant egg as in turning himself into that egg. (Maybe I’m dumb.)
- Bowser Jr dressed up as plumber to trick Mario, it didn’t work. (Don’t know if this is a reference to Sunshine).
- Apparently Thwomps and Podoboos weren’t in Bowser’s army until this game.
- King Boo uses his tongue to help him drive. (Oh god)
- With Mario’s help, Rosalina gained a new hobby in riding Motorcycles. (Cute)
- This is a cannon event.
- Dry Bowser is stated to be a different person from Bowser despite him being the same one from New Super Mario Bros DS, also he’s invincible now but playing by the same rules as everyone else.
This lines up with other spin off games like the Olympic Games where Dry Bowser is also treated as his own individual rather than Bowser, still weird.

Yandere romantic Mario vs Yandere romantic Bowser hcs fighting over princess peach sibling who helps mario to save princess peach and distract bowser for awhile , only for it to backfire on them.
Well this match up was bound to happen at some point, sure!
Mario Concept
Bowser Concept
Yandere! Mario vs Yandere! Bowser with Peach Sibling! Darling
Pairing: Romantic - Rivalry
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession at first sight, Overprotective, Manipulation, Kidnapping, Slight violence mention, Stalking, Jealousy, Dubious/Forced relationship.
Mario has had many people help him save the day from all sorts of foes.
Primarily he's saving Peach from Bowser.
Mario most likely met you through Princess Peach during one of his many visits.
He's never known Peach had a secret sibling!
According to Peach it's because she's been protecting you for awhile now.
She doesn't want Bowser to target you like he does to her.
So when you were able to care for yourself alone you moved out from the castle and hid your heritage.
You still visit your sister, which is how Mario met you, but for the most part you remove yourself from the castle.
You hate how your sibling keeps being targeted by Bowser but haven't been able to stop it.
In fact, you're thankful to Mario for saving your sister when Bowser does strike.
Mario honestly finds his cheeks heating when you give him your thanks.
Obviously you meet Mario first by accident but Peach allows it because she trusts her savior of many times.
For the sake of this concept maybe Mario wasn't interested in Peach.
Maybe when he first meets you he feels his cheeks heat up.
Mario most likely met you maybe a few weeks to a few months before Peach is kidnapped by Bowser again.
This gives the hero time to get to know you.
He knows about your annoyance when it comes to Bowser and your sister.
He agrees and you two become fast friends.
Mario listens intently to you when you talk about your life growing up.
You had assigned parents too look after you and you're similar in age to your sister.
You tell him how the Mushroom Kingdom is like without being bowed to like a traditional royal.
Really you're meant to take Peach's place if anything happens.
Yet you really want to protect your sister, something Mario shares in common with you.
Maybe you meet Mario's brother and friends the longer you know him.
He seems like such a sweet guy and you trust him.
All the while the hero in red begins to fall more and more in love.
He takes his time with waiting to admit how stunning you are.
He really does want to tell you that he's enamored but for now stays your friend and protector.
The second half of this concept takes place when Bowser kidnaps Peach.
Mario is adamant that you stay to keep the kingdom running.
However, you stop him with a hand on the shoulder and a stern expression.
"I'm not letting him get away with this again, I'm coming to help."
Mario is hesitant but obliges.
It gives him time to spend with you... he might as well.
Then your journey to save your sibling begins with you, Mario, Luigi, and maybe even Toad + Toadette.
There's no doubt Bowser hears about you from minions like Kamek.
He finds it strange that you share traits with the Princess but he's never seen you.
He asks more, his curiosity increasing, yet he isn't given much else.
Maybe he even asks Peach if she knows anything.
Perhaps with a harsher tone she admits she has a sibling.
Which makes Bowser eager to meet this supposed sibling.
While Bowser gains info on you by having minions stalk you, you're having fun with Mario.
Mario loves it when you smile despite you being upset about your lost sister.
He tries his best to make you happy as a hero should.
Sometimes you even take breaks long enough to rest and chat.
Mario makes it a goal to confess to you after getting Peach back.
Maybe you'll fall for him and his heroics?
You're unaware of Mario's affections other than the tint of his face and caring behavior.
He tries his best to be your guardian while making your way to the final castle.
Once you get there for the climatic battle, you come up with a plan.
You ask Mario to save your sister while you distract Bowser.
Mario finds this a horrible idea and decides against it.
Yet, again, you're insistent.
You want to help.
Not trusting the situation Mario tries to make things quick.
You nearly regret your decision when Bowser's steps enter the throne room.
The large Koopa King was expecting to see Mario here, but all he sees is... you.
His eyes widen at the prize in front of him.
Oh... you really do seem related to the Princess.
Cute, too.
With a laugh, the large beast asks why you're alone.
"I want my sister freed."
He likes that's you're bold.
You even gave him confirmation as to who you are.
"Freed? Perhaps we can make a deal?"
"What deal?"
"You take her place."
"... you can't possibly-"
"What's the matter? This way the Mushroom Kingdom gets their Princess back and I keep a prize. Is it not a noble sacrifice?"
The idea of this trade makes your skin crawl.
Bowser's gaze is intense, hungry, and eager.
Peach was getting old anyways, plus, maybe Mario will leave him alone this time?
Turns out no because just as he thinks of scooping you up, the plumber returns.
Mario comes running into the room with Peach to encounter Bowser, the Koopa King showing annoyance at this disturbance.
Mario isn't going to allow this sort of deal to happen.
In fact, maybe this time you manage to get away from Bowser after giving him just a little taste.
For now, Mario has won and brought Peach home along with you and his friends.
However, now Peach is no longer the one on danger.
While Mario plans how to confess to you, Bowser plans how to make you his.
Maybe even when Mario gets his timing right to tell you, Bowser trashes everything?
All because you came to help Mario you're now caught in the loop your sister was in.
Bowser hunts you down to kidnap you and charm you while Mario tries to play your protector and hero.
They both adore you and both try to confess.
Mario doesn't really like staining his gloves but if he has to be more cruel to get you back... he won't mind being more violent.
Meanwhile Bowser doesn't mind playing the role of monster... as long as he gets what he wants and ruins that plumber's life, he'll be happy.
It's just... well... it's up to you if you love either of them.
Sadly, even if Peach tried to make a deal like Bowser did with you, he'd never take the bait.
Bowser's already got something much sweeter than Peach.
It only gives him more satisfaction that he's stealing you from Mario.
You begin to regret coming to help your sister that day...
Perhaps you should've listened to Mario back then?

Now for a little something brewing in my teapot of fanfiction ideas...
The harmonious notes of birds trilling joyful songs wafted through the air. Sentient beings of every race merrily went about their day. A stunning array of blossoms and trees offered their fragrant gifts to those lucky enough to breathe deeply. The sky, a vast expanse of azure, remained unblemished by clouds. The sun bathed the landscape below in its warm, golden light.
It was a day that deserved to be immortalized in a photograph and transformed into postcards, inviting adventurers to the enchanting Mushroom Kingdom. Yet, at this very moment, one person was consumed by the wish to be anywhere else in the world.
Luigi leaned on the balcony of Princess Peach’s castle, his gaze drifting into the vastness beyond. The breathtaking scenery contrasted sharply with the turmoil brewing inside him, a storm ready to burst forth and tarnish the bright day at the first sign of a crack.
Only ten minutes ago, a significant announcement triggered an outpouring of cheers, congratulations, and even tears of happiness. It was a moment that should have brought Luigi joy, yet it instead filled him with a bitter pang of jealousy and a deep sense of gloom.
Princess Peach gleefully shared the news that she bared her heart to Mario earlier that day. Mario admitted he was astonished at her confession but revealed that he reciprocated her feelings upon recovering. With a heart full of joy, Peach affirmed that they were now officially a couple, and the celebration began.
The affection between Mario and Peach was the worst-kept secret in the Mushroom Kingdom, a flame that flickered brightly for all to see. Their chemistry was electric, lighting up the air around them with every shared glance and laugh. While Peach was known for her seemingly unlimited kindness to nearly everyone whom she crossed paths with, her interactions with Mario had a special glow, hinting at something deeper than mere friendship. Mario, despite his attempts to play it cool, couldn't mask the excitement that bubbled within him whenever Peach was near. It was inevitable that they would soon shed their hesitations and openly embrace the love that was so apparent to all.
Despite the tumultuous emotions swirling within him like a violent tornado, Luigi felt a genuine happiness for Mario and Peach. His affection for both was profound, and like many in the Mushroom Kingdom, he couldn't overlook the undeniable bond they shared. Being in their midst so often, he had the privilege of witnessing their sparkling chemistry unfold right before his eyes.
He remembered how Mario would profess his love for the princess every single day, often to his irritation. His brother would ramble on about the fragrance of her shampoo, the allure of her perfume, her beautiful heart, and every other enchanting quality he could conjure. He even discovered a few discarded poems and love letters that Mario had written, each one a testament to his infatuation.
Still, Luigi recalled that Mario’s journey with his feelings for Peach wasn’t entirely smooth sailing. Mario battled with insecurities, convinced that a princess of her caliber would never choose a working-class plumber like him. Despite the reassurances from Toad, Toadette, and Luigi himself, Mario remained unconvinced. Luigi pointed out that he was more than just a plumber; he was the celebrated hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, adored by its citizens just as much as the princess. Additionally, Peach frequently extended personal invitations for him to visit the castle, a privilege not granted to everyone. Although these affirmations gave Mario a slight boost, Luigi could sense the persistent shadows of doubt lurking in his brother’s mind.
He could tell that Mario felt a wave of relief wash over him when Peach shared her desire to be more than just friends. Any flickers of doubt that might have lingered in Mario's heart were swiftly extinguished by a long, tender kiss on his lips from Peach, a far cry from her usual cheek and nose offerings.
Normally, Luigi would have found great amusement in watching Mario’s legs resembling a plate of overcooked spaghetti before he crumpled to the ground in a lovesick stupor. But today, a cloud of sorrow engulfed him and made him feel like the most despondent person in the room. Even Toadsworth, the long-serving royal advisor known for his gentle yet firm approach regarding the princess’s well-being, had given his approval to Mario and Peach’s blossoming romance. The joyful sounds morphed into a dissonant symphony of despair for Luigi, compelling him to slip away from the festivities in search of a moment of peace to untangle his tangled feelings.
As the vision of Mario and Peach's blossoming romance unfolded before him on the balcony, Luigi found himself grappling with an uncomfortable truth he had long tried to bury deep within an impenetrable vault. Yet, today’s celebration was both the shovel and skeleton key that unlocked the very feelings that now haunted him.
He could no longer pretend otherwise: Mario wasn’t the only plumber enchanted by Princess Peach. Luigi, too, secretly nursed a significant crush on her.

BnHA Chapter 278: MOMO IN CHARGE
Previously on BnHA: Deku and Kacchan were all “SIR, THAT’S OUR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT SENSEI” and got really ferocious and made a very passionate attempt to blow Tomura up and it was great. It basically did nothing, but it was still great. AFO was all “COME HERE LIL BRO”, and Tomura was all “silly Sensei, you can’t just take over my mind and body just like that”, and he was very confident of this despite there really being no evidence to back it up, but okay! Gran was all “time to make the fandom mad at me” and grabbed Tomura by the collar and yelled at him about Nana a bit, and then Bakugou and Endeavor made an even MORE passionate attempt to blow up Tomura, which may or may not have done some actual damage. The chapter ended with Gigantomachia battling Mt. Lady, just kinda out of the blue, which is FINE, but she had better be all right, though!
Today on BnHA: Everyone is all “WAUGHH IT’S GIGANTOMACHIA” and running around freaking out about it. The U.A. alums all kick some ass, and pretty much everyone else not from U.A. does jack fucking shit. Mt. Lady, who I plan on naming all of my future children after, does her best to stop Machia but he keeps flinging her aside. Kamui Woods is all “here I come with Midnight to put Gigantomachia to sleep!” and is PROMPTLY FUCKING MURDERED!? by Dabi because he’s a flammable tree man, and so Midnight falls all the way to the ground and is badly injured. So then she’s all “well I better call the most competent person I can think of to fix this mess” and dials up YAOYOROZU FUCKING MOMO, who proceeds to take charge LIKE THE BOSS SHE IS, and mobilizes the rest of the kids. And honestly I have more faith in them than in any of the adults at this point, so yeah, you know what? Let’s do this.
so I am possibly a bit spoiled on this chapter because I did a “top five predictions” post earlier this week, and someone replied to that yesterday on Thursday saying that they were mostly correct. I don’t know exactly how close to the mark I was though, and in any case most of the predictions were just “so-and-so shows up, probably”, so it’s not too bad. we’ll see how it goes!
OH THANK GOD MY BABIES ARE SAFE
I mean, CLEARLY they’re all about to be in horrible danger, seeing as Jirou is about to inform them of the whole “THE BIG GUY EVERYONE WAS AFRAID ABOUT WAKING UP WOKE UP” thing, but in the meantime at least Kami and Toadette and Honenuki made it back to the group safely
also Kaminari’s use of “Jirou-Jack” here is fucking inspired and I want him to teach a class on nicknames. isn’t he the one who coined “Yaomomo” as well? this boy has a gift and it needs to be appreciated
so Jirou is all “SOMETHING REALLY BIG IS COMING”, and actually she says “INSANELY HUGE”, which if anything is still an understatement, hard as it is to believe
WOW
“A BAD GUY IS HEADING THIS WAY?? SOUNDS LIKE IT’S TIME TO ABANDON THE CHILDREN IN THE WOODS” kjlfakh okay you know what?? fine!! you weren’t even going to do anything anyway so let’s not pretend!!
holy shit it’s like Mt. Lady isn’t even there
look at those speed lines!! goddamn. I just felt this huge rush of empathy for Mt. Lady though. like can you imagine growing up with this super-destructive quirk, and managing to become a hero with it against all odds, and having to put up with the manga making fun of you all the time just because sometimes you have a tendency to DESTROY A LOT OF STUFF, but it’s not like you can help it!! but the upside has always been that when your quirk is on, you are fucking UNSTOPPABLE though. so even though it’s been a hell of a rough ride for you, it’s worth it because you’re a complete badass and the number of people who can beat you out in terms of sheer physical strength is probably in the single digits. and you’re working really hard too, and lately you’ve been moving up through the ranks and actually becoming a damn fine hero if I do say so myself (and I do), and it’s like, about time though?? like finally, finally it is all starting to come together for you. and then this snarling trashrock person suddenly comes stampeding along and you put your all into trying to stop him, and it doesn’t even do a damn thing. like, holy shit. that’s just not fucking fair and YOU DESERVE BETTER, MT. LADY
anyway so she’s still hanging in there for now though so let’s check in with our villain squad riding on his back
lmaooo they’re all “I don’t even understand what is going on here”
YOU GUYS, THIS IMPLIES THAT THEY WERE ALL PLUCKED OFF THE GROUND BY THE SCRUFFS OF THEIR NECKS AND THEY HAD ABSOLUTELY NO SAY IN THE MATTER OMG. like I’m picturing Spinner being held by his cape pinched in between Machia’s thumb and forefinger, and awkwardly trying to lecture him like a mom with his hands on his hips all, “BAD GIGANTOMACHIA! NO! NOOOUAGH -- !” and cutting off with a yelp as he’s dropped onto his back
and I am glad they got Toga some clothes! I like to think Gigantomachia grabbed those for her as well. so thoughtful
wow Skeptic actually wants to go back to Re-Destro??
color me legit impressed. I underestimated your loyalty my dude. and let me also just take this moment to extend my gratitude toward Horikoshi for leaving the rest of the MLA out of it because good fucking riddance to them, goodbye forever hopefully!!
I guess they’ll be needing Skeptic’s quirk down the line for some reason? maybe he is meant to be like a new, less out-of-control Twice. smdh y’all out here trying to replace your dead buddy like a pet goldfish
who is this “they” Dabi is referring to
do you mean the heroes? lol yeah I guess they’re pretty distracted by the literal fucking kaijuu you’re currently piggybacking on
SIGH
“the Jakku team must’ve made a mistake” BOY, I’LL SAY. you know what, don’t even talk to me about that yet. it’s still too fresh. suffice it to say that your suspicions are correct and things in Jakku are not very daijobu right about now
anyway here’s a closeup of this bubble person just cuz
they are everything and I want them to be my friend. also there’s a squid person a few paces behind them who can probably do anything a squid can do. or they might actually be a shark person, actually. I don’t know. either way I love them
GETEN PLEASE GO AWAY
WE ARE PHASING OUT THE MLA!! MOVING FORWARD IT’S ORIGINAL LOV ONLY!! I’M SORRY BUT YOU DIDN’T MAKE THE CUT. we already have an ice character so shoo
OH DAMN MY MAN CEMENTOSS HAS HAD ENOUGH OF HIS NONSENSE TOO AHHHH YESS
1) hey so Cementoss is legit terrifying who’d’ve thought
and 2), did Cementoss always have a mouthful of gigantic perfect teeth each the size of a slice of bread, or is this just something I’m only noticing now because I’m behind the curve. either way, let me just say sincerely, DKJDLKFJLSKJG
RE-DESTRO YOU GO AWAY TOO!!
@waywardfacegarden you asked the other day which are the characters I actually dislike, and this is one of them lol. he’s just a big ol’ prick, and on top of that has the audacity to not even be interesting in any way so as to balance it out. anyway so apologies to any Re-Destro stans out there but I basically spend every panel he’s in hoping that someone will punch him in the face hard enough to finally make him shut up
anyway so my man Edgeshot is here though, finally!! but of all the people for him to fight! this is a real predicament for me. the most soothing character in the series contrasted with the character who grates my nerves the most. Edgeshot’s sexy ASMR voice is gonna be drowned out by all of RD’s punching and self-important ranting in the anime and I’m lowkey devastated but I’m gonna pull myself together and read on
SPEAKING OF SELF-IMPORTANT RANTING
Edge, if you can liberate us from having to put up with his insufferable ass once and for all I will be so grateful to you. can you do this. please. for me
and it looks like some other boring MLA villains are following along behind Machia so I’m gonna need someone to kick their asses as well. please
-- YESSSSSS
okay so now I see what that comment on my prediction post was referring to lol. I did indeed have my fingers crossed that these two would show up again, and sure enough! THE GANG’S ALL HERE YAY
and Mt. Lady is being sumoed aside!
anyone want tonight’s lotto numbers. during this brief fleeting moment of having my predictions be actually credible, I would just like to say that Hagakure is the U.A. traitor. thank you and goodnight
OH NO KAMUI IS WORRIED
HE LOOKS SO PANICKED?? OUT OF THE BLUE I SHIP IT SO MUCH?? I keep forgetting they’re on the same team and stuff and wow, I need to calm down
LOL MIDNIGHT IS ALL “NO TIME FOR SHIPS!!”
I wonder if her quirk will actually be enough to take him down? this is something I’ve been itching to see for a long time, actually. just how powerful is she? we know her quirk is more effective on males than females, but is anyone actually capable of resisting it? imagine if she really did just knock Gigantomachia out after all of this buildup. that would be some god-tier shit omg, DO IT
(ETA: I am just going to assume that since Horikoshi had to go to elaborate lengths to take her out of the fight, this means that her quirk really was capable of knocking them all out. another tragic case of Too Badass For The Plot. y’all better respect Midnight.)
YESSSSSSSS
is she stripping. you know what -- don’t think about it. I won’t let you ruin this for me Horikoshi. Midnight’s gonna be a badass because the ladies are fucking ruling this arc and that’s all there is to it
NOOOOOO
DABI GET BACK HERE I JUST WANT TO TALK!!
oh thank god, she’s all right. BUT KAMUI ISN’T THOUGH DLKJSFLKSJDG??!
did Kamui Woods just... die
(ETA: okay but for real, is there an actual curse in effect on the Billboard Top Ten right now, though?? did one of them accidentally disturb the tomb of some ancient king??)
...
( ・ั﹏・ั)
oH MY GOD!?!
NOOOOOOO WHY ARE YOU SO QUICK TO SLEEP ON MAJESTIC, LET’S SEE IF THEY CAN DO IT!! GIVE US MAJESTIC GOD DAMMIT
(ETA: Horikoshi is seriously just yanking our chain at this point. when Majestic finally does show up, he or she better have the coolest fucking quirk of all time, that’s all I’m saying.)
okay how badly injured is Midnight here, though?? she just fell all that way?? DO I NEED TO BE REALLY MAD. I CAN WORK MY WAY UP TO IT PRETTY QUICKLY, JUST SAY THE WORD. I’M ALREADY HALFWAY THERE HONESTLY. WHERE’S KAMUI WOODS
!!!!!!!!!!!
AND JUST LIKE THAT MY ANGER EVAPORATES INTO THE NIGHT, YESSSSSSSSS!! MOMOOOOO
holy shit. “a quirk that can stop that thing,” she says. and goes and calls YAOYOROZU FUCKING MOMO y’all I am barely holding myself back from SCREAMING right now I...
you guys
you guys. if Midnight and Yaomomo team up to take down Gigantofuckingmachia using some sort of MOMO MADE A MACHINE TO SPREAD MIDNIGHT’S QUIRK strategy, or whatnot?? I will fucking die on the spot. you can end the manga right there. Kacchan you can keep your quirk I don’t even care
“IT MIGHT BE AGAINST THE LAW” lmaooooo insert John Mulaney “WE’RE WELL PAST THAT gif here. holy shit. listen, that is fine. if anything it’s even better
WHAT THE FUCK
DO I NEED TO START GETTING REALLY MAD AGAIN!?!?! FUCKING WHIPLASH, IS WHAT THIS IS, BUT YOU JUST TELL ME WHAT SORT OF OVER-THE-TOP REACTION IS NEEDED HERE AND I’LL GO FOR IT
(((( ;°Д°))))
[GRABS HORIKOSHI BY THE COLLAR] listen, you. if you only just now, for the first time ever, gave us a lady hero actually mentoring another lady hero, which we have somehow NEVER HAD BEFORE in almost three hundred chapters, only for you to then KILL OFF THE MENTOR IN THE MIDDLE OF HER GODDAMN SPEECH TO THE MENTOREE, I will... there’s... I’ll... okay, listen. DON’T. THERE WILL BE A RECKONING. CAPSLOCK SUCH AS THIS WORLD HAS NEVER WITNESSED!!
ヽ(#゚Д゚)ノ┌┛
I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO REACT TO ANYTHING IN THIS CHAPTER AND I’M LOSING MY MIND OVER IT
so the other kids are all “what the fuck” and “so Momo’s in charge??” which, YES!!! IT’S THE ONE GOOD PART ABOUT ALL THIS SO DON’T YOU DARE QUESTION IT
MOMO NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BE CRIPPLED BY YOUR ANXIETY, YOU CAN DO THIS GIRL I BELIEVE IN YOU
hell, it’s not even just an “I believe in you” thing, because it’s not just belief, it’s fact. you motherfucking can do this, you are the most capable and brilliant student in 1-A, you just gotta have faith and let yourself shine!!
so now there are some more panels of Machia running and the villains and heroes fighting, blah blah blah. and Momo screwing up her face as she makes her decision...
YESSSSSSSSS
my baby girl is all grown up and TAKING THESE MOTHERFUCKIN REINS and MOMO I WILL LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU JUST SAY THE WORD!!
lol she’s all “Jirou use your ears and scientifically calculate how long it’ll take him to get here”, and Jirou is all “I can literally fucking see him, he’s gonna be on top of us in like two seconds” WELL OKAY THEN
thank god there are no adult pros left to fuck this up. is that weird that this is a real and honest and completely sincere thought that just ran through my head? like, at this point if any of the adults were around I’d just be afraid of them dying honestly. but with the kids I actually feel real hope that they’re somehow gonna do this. of course it helps that unlike the adults they’re pretty safe from being killed off
also! way to represent the entirety of class 1-B there Honenuki lulz. sorry, The Rest of Class 1-B
OH MY GOD
MT. LADY I WILL LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU AS WELL!! YOU HAVE MY LOVE AND FEALTY!!
I’M STANNING HER SO HARD I’M GONNA EXPLODE SOMEBODY HELP!?!
JIROU SAYS THAT MACHIA HAS SLOWED DOWN!! YOU GUYS I’M ABOUT TO GET “MT. LADY FOR PRESIDENT” TATTOOED ACROSS MY FOREHEAD
lmao at Shouji using his power of “putting some extra eyeballs on my arms” to inform everyone that Gigantomachia is Right Over There and Very Big
good job Shouji
oh my glob I have so much love for Momo right now that it can’t even fucking be contained. brb wildly flailing my hands around a little to try and release some of this excess excitement
maybe Momo can be president instead and Mt. Lady can be the vice president
NO THE CHAPTER IS ENDING I’M NOT READY
AND JUMP IS ON BREAK AGAIN NEXT WEEK TOO, FML!!
okay!!
Kaminari is so fucking brave right now I just want to crush him in a hug?! we know he’s still scared!! look at his eyes!! and he was freaking the hell out earlier too, and now the situation is much worse! but he doesn’t give a fuck because his friends need him! he is ready to be a hero, my little baby boy is all grown up and I’m so proud??
Mineta’s face in the bottom right corner is everything. I know, I know, boooo Mineta, but that’s still the best face anyone has made in the entirety of this manga
Tetsutetsu’s out here all “I humbly request to also represent class 1-B” and Momo is all “okay fine I guess we can have two of you guys”
can we all just stop for a moment to appreciate how KamiJirouMomo is alive and well. like, we had interactions between all three of them in this chapter, in all possible permutations? do you know how happy this makes me?? I am vibrating with joy??!
I really can’t stress this enough -- I have no clue at all what these little soda can things are (anesthetic, I guess??? you know, like how you sometimes buy cans of anesthetic at the supermarket?? what do you mean you don’t do that??), or what they’re gonna do with them. I have like negative clues. but DAMNED IF I GIVE ONE SINGLE FUCK. the next chapter can be them all fucking hurling them at his face for all I care. THE DETAILS OF HOW SHE KICKS HIS ASS DO NOT MATTER!! GOOD MORNING TO YAOMOMO AND YAOMOMO ONLY!! MY MOMO ACADEMIA

Super Mario Advance Playthrough
Fighter: Princess Peach Toadstool.
Game: Super Mario Advance, Wii U virtual console (GBA). First Released on March 21st 2001.
Fighter Bio.
Princess Peach Toadstool, known as Princess Peach more commonly now is the crown Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She is famous and well liked both within her Kingdom and in a lot of locations outside of it. Peach’s role in the Mario series varies with her most common role often being kidnapped by Bowser, but other villains have also captured her before. Based on my estimate, I believe she has been kidnapped roughly 31 times so far in the games including all spin-offs. Sometimes these kidnappings take place before the game starts meaning she only appears in the ending, other times she’ll have a role in the game before it happens and sometimes it will be a short part of the game like for a single chapter in one of the RPGs. Often in that last example it relates to another one of her roles, being a playable character who is either a party member or optional character to play as, with her sometimes becoming playable after being rescued. In the cases where Peach is not kidnapped immediately, she’ll often tell Mario and the others what they need to do when a crisis is taking place, advising them where to head to next or setting them off at the start of the game on their quest. Being captured so often, one skill Peach seems to have picked up over the years is her ability to often stealthily slip around her captors, sometimes simply working out a way to send Mario assistance such as items and advice, and other times managing to spy on her captor’s plans. Often due to the location she’s being held in she is unable to fully escape from her captors however, or in some cases her sense of duty to her also captured people will make her not try to leave without them.
The Mario series doesn’t have a solid timeline, so a lot of this is just my own personal ideas, but unless a game is explicitly taking place in the past with Baby versions of the characters, I tend to just go by the order in which the games are released regarding character’s histories in the franchise, something possibly evidenced by a scene in Super Mario Sunshine where F.L.U.D.D. searches its databank and has data on Mario’s adventures prior to that game as past events. I also personally like to consider the Paper Mario series broadly canon to the Mario series as a whole so I will be including aspects from that here. Peach first met the Mario Bros and Bowser back when they were babies, with her first meeting with them being during the events of Yoshi’s Island DS. In this game Peach was one of the babies who the Yoshis are trying to help get home, with her ability when riding a Yoshi being to use her parasol which allows them to ride on high winds. The next appearance of Baby Princess Peach was during the Shroob invasion where her older self went back in time and was kidnapped by the Shroobs. Baby Bowser planned to kidnap Baby Peach, however he was interrupted first by the Baby Mario Bros and then by the invading Shroobs. Baby Princess Peach actually manages to not be kidnapped throughout the game instead remaining in the future Castle with a young Toadsworth who is her caretaker. Following these two events (excluding spinoffs with Baby Peach where she appears but there’s no story such as Mario Kart) the Mario Bros seemingly left the Mushroom Kingdom possibly for New Donk City. Despite their absence, Bowser didn’t attempt any more kidnapping plots for some time, possibly not until the Mario Bros returned to the Mushroom Kingdom following the events of Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros seems to be the first time Bowser successfully kidnapped Princess Peach taking over her Kingdom entirely until the Mario Bros managed to defeat him and save her. In the backstory to this game, Bowser apparently used magic to transform the people of the Mushroom Kingdom into various objects and then kidnapped the Princess to stop her from turning them back. It’s due to this as well as Peach’s abilities in some games that it seems she is capable of certain forms of magic, often of the healing variety. It is only rarely however Peach is shown to use these abilities.
When it comes to her personality, Peach was probably the earliest character in the series to have dialogue, with her having lines in the very first game and most others after, whereas other characters like Bowser would more often only have dialogue in the instruction book at most. In the very first game it was fairly basic with her simply thanking Mario or Luigi for saving her and offering them the chance to take on a new quest, which was a harder version of the game. Super Mario Bros 3 however had her show a bit more personality, with her making a joke to her saviour at the end of the adventure based on the infamous line Toad would tell the player in the original game, “Thank you Mario but our Princess is in another castle.” Before telling them she was just kidding. Peach’s personality varies a little from game to game, but usually the main aspects of it are that she’s kind, generous and when not captured is good at advising the others what needs to be done. Despite being fairly reliable, she can sometimes be somewhat whimsical, especially in spin-off games with her often enjoying frolicking and singing, and she can when pushed show a fairly strong angry side, with her either aggressively convincing a character such as Luigi to go and save his brother or reacting angrily to those who mock her. Finally, despite her longstanding friendship with Mario, she’s willing to tell him off if he’s getting too carried away, almost abandoning him and Bowser at one point when they start squabbling and she just wants to go home.
Friends: Princess Peach is fairly popular throughout the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond and as such a lot of characters know of her even if they haven’t met her before. Peach’s subjects seem to all adore her a lot with them often being depressed when she’s absent. Of her closer relationships, her closest arguably is with Mario, with him often rescuing her and sometimes her returning the favour. Their relationship tends to be teased sometimes as possibly romantic, but there are times Peach will find Mario a bit too overbearing. What is clear is that they trust each other entirely and when possible will often work together. Peach is close with Luigi also although not to the same degree as Mario, however she will still in some games treat Luigi the same way she does Mario in the ending when Luigi is the character being played as, such as giving him a kiss on the cheek. Later games have shown she extends this to anyone who helps her as a sign of gratitude, including Yoshi, Toad and Toadette. The next closest relationship Peach has is with Toadsworth her elderly steward who has taken care of her since she was a baby. Toadsworth often worries for the Princess’s safety and tries to accompany her whenever he can. Toad is Peach’s attendant and often fulfils Toadsworth’s role in his absence sticking by her side when possible. Toad is fiercely loyal to Peach despite his cowardice and will often try to help her out however he can.
Toadette is someone Peach gets along with, however the two don’t interact that often with Toadette often doing other roles to help Mario. Peach has a connection to the Yoshis due to them saving her with the other Star Children when she was a baby, however besides this there is only one instance of her ever riding Yoshi, which is in the ending of Super Mario World where she rides Yoshi on the journey back to his house after Bowser is defeated. Of the rest of the cast Peach seems to get along fairly well with most of them, with possibly her best friend being Princess Daisy who she often partners with in various sports and other games and the two will also act as friendly rivals when in competition with each other.
Enemies/Rivals: The relationship between Bowser and Peach seems to have developed over the years. Initially Bowser seemed to aim to capture Peach simply because she was the princess of the Kingdom he was invading and then because she could undo the magic he used to transform her citizens. Eventually however, Bowser seemed to develop an affinity for Peach, one which she does not reciprocate at all. Due to this, Bowser’s aim is always to kidnap Peach and try to convince her to marry him rather than just destroy her as with his other enemies. Bowser also at one point told his son Bowser Jr that Peach was his Mother, which led to her being shocked when Bowser Jr claimed this. Despite Junior revealing later on he knew Peach wasn’t his real Mother, he still referred to her as Mama and seems to like the idea of it, kidnapping Peach sometimes so she can be with Bowser. Although Peach does not get along with Bowser or his troops, she will work with them when needed, and in cases where Bowser helps against another enemy she is willing to do things such as send him a cake as thanks. Beyond this, Peach has had a few other enemies, often them being villains who kidnap her as part of their plan such as Sir Grodus or Cackletta. Peach has fought against a couple of villains herself including Count Bleck’s minions, Smithy’s Gang and Wart, leader of the 8 bits who invaded Subcon.
Crossovers with other Smash characters: Being from the Mario series, Princess Peach has had a fair few crossovers, although not as many as the Mario Bros themselves. Super Mario RPG had Peach playable as part of the party, and therefore she was also present when Samus made a cameo in the game. Link’s cameo in the game appears before Princess Peach joins the party, however they are still technically in the same game so I feel it’s still worth mentioning. Princess Peach similarly to Mario appears in the crowd for both the Megaton Punch minigame and Kirby’s Battle in the Boxing arena with King Dedede in Kirby Super Star and the remake Super Star Ultra. Princess Peach is a racer in Mario Kart 8, where there was a Mii costume for Captain Falcon, along with the Blue Falcon as a kart and two F-Zero tracks. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, there is also Link in both his Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild incarnations as well as both default Inklings, two human Animal Crossing Villagers and Isabelle who are playable. Princess Peach is a character in the Game & Watch Gallery games and as such has crossed over with Mr. Game & Watch. In the NES version of Tetris, Pit appeared playing a harp alongside characters such as Princess Peach, Samus, Link and Donkey Kong. Princess Peach is a character in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series therefore crossing over with Sonic. Pac-Man has crossed over with Princess Peach in the arcade Mario Kart GP series. Whilst Princess Peach has never directly crossed over with any of the Hero characters from Dragon Quest, many of the Fortune Street games have featured crossovers with the Dragon Quest and Mario series, with many other Dragon Quest characters interacting with her. Finally, and perhaps most notably is a game where Princess Peach has a direct cameo and Mario doesn’t. (There is however a character based on him) In all versions of Link’s Awakening a character named Catherine sends a photo of ‘herself’ to Mr. Write (a character who is a clear reference to Dr. Wright from the SNES SimCity game who is also an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros) with him showing Link the photo which is a picture of Princess Peach. In reality, Catherine is a goat living in Animal Village. Whilst normally I tend to not include pictures or outfits in other games as cameos (Peach’s dress and parasol appear in many other series such as Animal Crossing for example) I felt in this case it was justified as the photo is part of the actual sidequest regarding the character’s identity rather than just being a background cameo.
Why this game?
Princess Peach has been playable in a few games so I had quite a few to choose from, Super Mario 3D World was one contender with Peach playing somewhat similarly to how she does in Super Smash Bros, however she lacked something specific in this game that I went for with my final choice. The other two notable options, Super Paper Mario and Super Princess Peach which was her starring role both had her play in a somewhat more unique way to how she did in Super Smash Bros, with Perry the Parasol being a big part of her moveset in SPP, whilst in SPM Peach only had her Parasol lacking her floating jump. Super Mario Bros 2 was the first time Princess Peach was playable, and most of her moveset in Super Smash Bros originates from the game, with not only her being able to float for a short time when she jumps, but perhaps the most unique aspect from the game being her ability to pull out turnips to throw as weapons, something she only does in SMB2. It was for these reasons I decided to go with Super Mario Bros 2 in this case, especially as those other games will still be covered later down the line on my list. When it comes to the version of the game I chose, I went for the Super Mario Advance incarnation rather than the original NES or Allstars version, however I will detail that more in the next section overall.
My past with this game.
So this game is one of the select few specifically from my childhood. I had Super Mario Allstars on the SNES with this game on it, but also I had the NES version as well. With the NES version the main thing I remember is just having the box with the picture of Mario on the front. Similarly to other games then I never completed this one, however it was probably the Mario game I got the least far playing. I believe I would only ever get to 1-3 before usually not making it past the Phantos to face Mouser. For some time I mostly remembered the game but didn’t really revisit it, it wasn’t exactly in the same class as Super Mario Bros 3 or Super Mario World even if I did have some fond memories of it for being so different. Probably the most confusing thing with the game for me back then was related to the cartoon show. In the cartoon show, Bowser is depicted looking different to the games, with him being mostly green with a crown on his head as opposed to his look in the vast majority of other appearances with orange scales on his body and only his head green as well as lacking a crown. Wart, the antagonist of Super Mario Bros 2 however, was all green with a crown on his head. Due to this, I believed that the King Koopa on the cartoon show was actually Wart (which might not be that outlandish as the first version of the cartoon show was based on Super Mario Bros 2, so it was likely King Koopa was just an amalgamation of Bowser and Wart, although this is DIC so the possibility of them just screwing it up is always the most likely scenario) Another perhaps somewhat unique source of this was my Grandma when I’d visit her as a kid, who would have various games I could play with my Cousins, and one she had was a card game called Super Mario Bros Blockbusting Card Game. Of course, being a big fan of Mario then I would love getting this out, especially as the big cards had artwork of the various enemies, powerups and the Mario Bros. What was interesting was this also had artwork of Wart as well as Bowser, which therefore for me back then looked even more similar, so I just assumed Wart was the King Koopa from the cartoons and Bowser was from the games. What helped with this was there were a fair few of the bosses from Super Mario Bros 2 who were cards in the set.
It was only with magazines I believe that I gradually learnt that Wart was the antagonist of Super Mario Bros 2, and at first I believed this meant he was the villain from the cartoon show till I finally realised the cartoon show wasn’t really relevant to the games at all and King Koopa was meant to be Bowser. I also at this time learnt probably the other most notable aspect of this game, that it wasn’t the original Super Mario Bros 2. Despite having Super Mario Allstars, back then I didn’t exactly look at the Lost Levels as anything else other than a weird version of Super Mario Bros I couldn’t get anywhere on, and it was only later I learnt that that was the game in Japan that was SMB2 and the SMB2 I knew had been another game altogether, Doki Doki Panic. What’s interesting is I believe apparently Miyamoto was more involved in Doki Doki Panic than SMB2 (Lost Levels) overall, so it’s not as if the game becoming a Mario one was completely out of nowhere. It’s also very interesting that so many factors of this game, things like Peach’s movement, Luigi’s distinct character design, Toad being playable and perhaps the biggest one being various enemies such as Bob-ombs and Shy Guys became a huge part of the Super Mario Bros series, with Bob-ombs appearing in the following game SMB3 (Which meant in Japan these enemies somehow went from being in Doki Doki Panic to Super Mario Bros 3.) The reason for this apparently was that they believed the original SMB2 (Lost Levels) was too difficult really to sell outside of Japan, something that tends to be mocked now, but personally I think it makes for a more interesting and unique sequel so I’m kind of glad it happened. It’s also interesting to me that due to this, outside of Japan Super Mario Bros fits a slight pattern I noticed with a couple of franchises on NES, where the second game in the series would be quite different to the first, then the third would end up being more like the first game again but expanded. The Legend of Zelda had Zelda II Adventure of Link which had sidescrolling as a major gameplay element before A Link to the Past brought the series back to how it was in the original game, Castlevania 2 Simon’s Quest was a lot different to the first game, but Castlevania 3 Dracula’s Curse brought it back to the gameplay of the first game, and with SMB2 it was radically different to SMB, but then SMB3 brought it back to the style of the first game.
Another big part of my history with the game, as with a fair few franchises, goes back to my experiences on the early internet, specifically Newgrounds flash animations again. Back then, there was a flash animation at the time called Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom which I really enjoyed. It was bloody and involved Mario dying and Luigi setting out for revenge, fairly tame compared to a lot of stuff on Newgrounds then and with some really nice usage of sprites. It was the second flash movie in this series however that involved Mario setting off to face the real villain behind the events of the first movie (which turned out to have been a dream) Wart that really made me appreciate SMB2 more. At the time I was really getting into messing around with sprites and Games Factory, trying to make my own games, so this flash movie made me look a lot more into SMB2 and all the unique enemies in it, with the various bosses such as Mouser, Tryclyde and of course Birdo and Wart being characters I wanted to see more of. This all led me to finally properly play SMB2 and beat it some time after I had beaten SMB3.
For my final history with the game, it relates mostly to Super Mario Advance, the remake of Super Mario Bros 2 that launched the Game Boy Advance. It was traditional at that point to launch a new Nintendo console with a Mario game, a pattern that would be broken only a few months later with the release of the Gamecube (which instead had Luigi’s Mansion, and the Wii wouldn’t have a Mario series game at all at launch.) This game was the first in the Super Mario Advance series and it’s arguably the version that was changed the most from the original game, with a few changes to the levels such as new giant Shy Guys and a fair bit more voice acting with all the bosses getting lines they’d say when you met them. This is pure speculation I’ve had since then, but I feel like they possibly picked Super Mario Bros 2 as they felt it was the game that they could risk changing most, and also that they changed it the most of the series so as to show off what the GBA was capable of with the voices and sprites. I remember when the GBA was the current console, Super Mario Advance was the game I’d tend to see most often being shown off in stores, even sometime after other games had come out. Despite this, it was probably the last game in the Advance series I got, but I’d say out of the Mario Advance series it’s the game I’d most recommend instead of or alongside the original or Allstars version as it’s the more unique experience. It’s due to this that I chose Super Mario Advance as the version for my playthrough rather than the others.
My Smash Playthrough.
I have actually played through this game fairly recently from start to finish, for a character much further down my list so the game is somewhat fresh in my memory compared to other games I’ve written about so far here. For this playthrough as it was the game I chose for Princess Peach I played through the whole game solely as her. In comparison I’d say she’s one of the characters who I prefer playing as due mostly to her extremely useful floating ability, with her downside (being her power which means she’s unable to pull vegetables or pick up enemies as quickly and a slower running speed) not really feeling too much of a hassle in exchange. I want to focus on Peach mostly, but Mario as always is the all-rounder having no real weaknesses nor gimmicks that make him excel in any area, Luigi has the best jump but is a little slower and less powerful than Mario (this is also the game where he first had his scuttle jump) and finally Toad (the character I played through the game as recently) is the fastest and most powerful but has the lowest jump, often requiring you to charge up a super jump (done by crouching down until the character starts glowing) to reach higher platforms. The plot of the game is that Mario had a dream one night where he went up a staircase and found a mysterious door. Opening the door he saw a vast world before him and heard a voice telling him this land was Subcon and that the evil Wart is causing suffering there. The voice tells Mario that only he can save the land and to remember Wart hates vegetables before Mario wakes up. The next day, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Peach go for a picnic, Mario tells them of the dream he had and they all say they had the same dream. During their picnic they see a cave and look inside it, finding a staircase leading up to the same door from the dream. When they open it, they are once again standing before Subcon, with them this time entering which is where the game starts.
Probably the most immediate point for most Mario players to notice when first playing this game is how it is very different when it comes to a lot of the standard Mario mechanics, granted when the game came out this was following only the original Super Mario Bros, so it wasn’t quite as unusual. Some aspects remain the same, such as the characters turning small when they have only one hit left, however unlike in other Mario games their health is restored by finding hearts, with any amount of hearts over one bringing them back to regular size. Mushrooms are in the game still, but this time finding one and picking it up gives the character an extra heart (as well as fully healing them) which means they’re a lot less common than in other Mario games. This game also lacks any sort of power-ups such as the Fire Flower, with the only alternate form being brief invincibility when touching a Star. I quite enjoy the main mechanic used to fight in this game, being picking up objects or enemies and throwing them at other enemies to defeat them, it provides a fun and fairly unique style of gameplay to the other games in the series and creates fairly basic puzzles in some cases where you’re required to build a small tower of mushroom blocks as an example to be able to reach a high platform. Possibly one of the most infamous aspects of this game are the keys that are sometimes required in stages to get through a locked door. You are required to carry the keys similarly to other objects to the door, however when holding the key, the evil Phanto Masks will relentlessly pursue you, and only stop either when you use the key on the door or drop the key. Despite their reputation and giving me some trouble as a kid, nowadays I barely find them a problem as just throwing the key ahead of you usually gets them off your back long enough to travel a fair distance before they pursue you again.
When it comes to difficulties I faced playing the game, it’s a fairly easy game, with only two sections I remember really causing me many problems both recently and back during this playthrough. The first is a stage where you’re travelling across the tops of whales in the ocean. The top of them is a fairly big platform, although the middle of the platform will sometimes have water spout out of their blowhole. Touching this water from the side will hurt you which can be somewhat annoying, however jumping on top of the water that’s spurting out provides a platform. Perhaps the most irritating part to me is when you’re required to use the whales tails as platforms, mostly as they are very small and it can be very easy to slip off of them, leading to an instant death. The second and probably most irritating situation in the game for me are parts featuring you digging through sand. In these parts of the level there are layers of sand that you can dig by pulling them similarly to how you pull vegetables out of the ground. The problem with these parts are the Shy Guys who constantly walk from left to right, and will fall down the layers of Sand you’ve removed. Due to how little room you have to manoeuvre when you get lower in the sand, picking the Shy Guys up and throwing them doesn’t really work, often with them catching on a layer above and instantly walking back into you taking off health. The way I describe this sounds like it’s a design issue but it’s more just hard to describe and really makes sense when playing, it’s not unfair or anything, it’s just these sections are the ones I tend to die most at and find the most tedious, possibly simply due to impatience when it comes down to it.
The stages aren’t really ground-breaking, but when compared to the stages in the original Super Mario Bros I feel they have a fair bit more variety. The themes for them are grassland, vertical waterfall stages, desert stages, underground caves and snow stages, with some of them simply being at night. I still find the stages do some interesting things however with them not seeming just like variations of each other but often having a few unique features to them that makes them stand out, for example the very first stage is a fairly basic grassland, but the end of it has you going into a cave to reach the top of some hills, then climbing into the clouds before facing the boss. The levels are longer than those in the original Super Mario Bros, however there are less of them, with each world only having 3 stages, and the last world, World 7 only having two. The game is somewhat challenging, it was probably the one I got the least far in of the Super Mario Bros games as a kid, but despite a couple of issues I find it fairly simple to play through now, especially with Peach.
The Bosses are probably the more interesting of the first three Super Mario Bros games with there being quite a few variations, although some are repeated a few times. This game was the debut of Birdo who appears in a few variations. The most basic battle with Pink Birdo has her shoot eggs from her mouth at you, which you have to grab from the air and throw back at her. Red Birdo shoots eggs also, but varies it with some fireballs, so you have to be careful which projectile you jump onto and which you just avoid. Green Birdo is the final variation shooting only fireballs, requiring you to grab other objects from around the room to throw instead of eggs to beat her. There is a fourth sort of variation exclusive to Super Mario Advance, being the Robo Birdo. This boss fires eggs also like Birdo, however the eggs are giant and it also has a charging attack which requires you to grab one of the chains hanging from the ceiling to avoid. Birdos are usually the bosses of the regular stages in Super Mario Bros 2, with the third stage of each world having a unique boss to fight, Robo Birdo being one of these unique bosses who replaces a repeated boss in the original versions of the game. There are a couple of unique appearances of Birdo in the game however which I find neat personally, one of which is a Pink Birdo who appears at the very start of stage 4-3. This Birdo will always respawn when defeated when you leave the area through a door and return again. The reason why is that the eggs she fires are actually meant to be used to ride across a large chasm to reach the rest of the level, which is probably one of my favourite little gimmicks in the game.
Mouser is the first main boss in the game, a Mouse with sunglasses who likes to throw bombs everywhere, naturally the way to beat him is to throw his bombs back at him. I remember finding this boss a little annoying mostly as he’s on a platform above you, and only gets effected by the bomb if it goes off where he’s standing. Due to his erratic movements this can be down to luck somewhat as to whether he’ll stand in the right spot when the bomb explodes, although it’s hardly a difficult battle overall. What’s probably most interesting to me about Mouser is that he is probably the boss who varies the most between versions of the game. In the original form of the game, Doki Doki Panic he appeared as a boss three times, with a green eared version in stage 3-3 and a white furred version in 5-3. Super Mario Bros 2 replaced the version in 5-3 with another boss, and then Super Mario Advance replaced the green eared version with Robo Birdo, but actually had a second boss battle with the regular Mouser replace a second boss battle with another character. Tryclyde is the next boss faced all versions of the game, being a three headed snake that shoots fireballs and has to have mushroom blocks thrown at it. Interestingly Tryclyde appears again as a boss in SMB2 but in Super Mario Advance it’s replaced in it’s second battle by Mouser. Another odd factor with Tryclyde is in Super Mario Bros 2 it is red, but in the remake for Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance it is instead green with red patterns on it’s back. It’s particularly odd in this case as some enemies, Cobrats who are single headed snakes that appear in the game remain red in all versions. Tryclyde is more of a challenging boss than Mouser and caused me perhaps a death or two but wasn’t that tough overall. The next boss is probably the one I had the most trouble with, Fryguy a living flame. Due to being a flame, touching Fry Guy at all causes damage, so you have to throw mushroom blocks at him. What makes this battle more difficult is that Fryguy moves around a fair bit, and hitting him with the mushroom blocks due to this without being hit yourself can be a lot more tricky. On top of this, when you beat the first phase of the boss fight, Fryguy then splits into four smaller versions that can be just as tricky to hit and all need to be extinguished in order to beat him. Fryguy is probably second only to Wart when it comes to how often I’d die to him, and I think in this playthrough actually killed me more than Wart did. Clawgrip the crab is the final of the standard bosses in the game, throwing boulders at you which have to be picked up and thrown back at him. I remember this battle being a little tricky as landing on the boulders properly could be tough, and approaching from the side at all would cause you damage, but overall he was less tough than Fryguy to me. Clawgrip replaced the white Mouser and was the only boss who wasn’t in Doki Doki Panic (besides Robo Birdo.) Every boss is voiced in this version of the game and I find them fun little voicelines overall that make them more memorable, with lines like Mouser going “Here, have some bombs!” or Birdo’s “This is as far as you go!”
The final two levels are the most difficult overall, not being as irritating to me as the digging through sand or whale sections earlier in the game, but more difficult stages overall than the others, with the first having you travelling across clouds with a lot of enemies and pits to overcome and the second being a big palace which is probably the biggest maze in the game. They are both however, probably my favourite levels in the game overall. I tend to have an affinity for cloud based sky stages and I find the palace a fitting final location. Wart is the final boss of the game and is fought in a room with the Dream Machine which he has been using possibly to create the various monsters that make up his army of bad dreams. The Dream Machine seems to perhaps possess some sort of sentience however, as in the final battle it starts shooting out vegetables which can be grabbed and thrown into Wart’s mouth to defeat him. Wart fights by shooting out bubbles and it is only when he opens his mouth to do so he can be hurt by throwing a vegetable in there, which was why at the start of the game Mario was told about Wart hating them as a hint. I remember having some trouble years ago with timing the vegetables so as to not get hit by the bubbles, but this time it went fairly smoothly and I beat Wart I think first time. With Wart defeated you go through to the next room and free the native inhabitants of Subcon from a jar, who celebrate Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach defeating Wart and saving them before seeming to throw the defeated Wart out of the Palace. With this, the scene then switches to Mario in bed, revealing the whole game was a dream as cast credits for all of the enemies in the game go by, which in the original version of the game had a couple of mistakes such as Ostro, a minor enemy and Birdo’s names being swapped, which is corrected in this version. It’s a nice ending and for those who overanalyse these games like me, somewhat interesting as a few of the enemies who first appeared in this game such as Shy Guys and Snifits actually also appeared in Yoshi’s Island when Mario was a baby, so as this is part of a dream those memories might be related to them appearing in Wart’s army of bad dreams, although I know it’s probably nothing that deep overall. So overall, I enjoyed playing through this game, it’s not overly long or difficult and as a portable game back when it came out and the first example of what the GBA could do, it was very good overall I’d say.
Specific aspects about the game relating to Peach in Smash.
I’ve pretty much gone over the main aspects of Princess Peach in this game when it comes to Super Smash Bros, this game was the origin of Peach’s floating jump ability and her pulling turnips out of the ground to throw at enemies. In Super Smash Bros, very rarely Peach can pull other items out of the ground instead of a turnip, one of which being a Bob-omb, which is possible also in Super Mario Bros 2 where some of the tufts of grass when pulled will turn out to be a Bob-omb which has to be thrown away immediately or else it will explode on you. Other than this however, most of Peach’s other moves come from other games I will cover later, such as her frying pan being from Super Mario RPG, Tennis Racket and Golf Club from their respective sports series and Parasol from various other games. There’s nothing really to customise so that’s pretty much it for Peach’s appearance in this game.

It's way too early in the morning but I wanna talk a about Superstar Bonanza (my Mario Danganronpa AU). This will not be coherent.
I've already thought who gets killed, who are murderers, the traitor, and even the Mastermind(no it's not Bowser or KB). Actually, here's all the characters
The Characters in order are Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Wario, Waluigi, Joshi(OC), Lotus(s/i), Nathaniel(OC), Koops, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline, Toadette, Timia(OC), and Lexi(my s/i). All the OCs (and that one other s/i) all belong to different friends of mine.
(The red block is covering up a "spoiler", I'm still unsure if I'll put this whole story out there and if I am, I shouldn't spoil it for people)
I actually really enjoy the dynamic I ended up making with Mario, Luigi, and Lexi. Somewhat similar to one thing in v3 which I won't name in case of spoilers.
Mario and Luigi are bros, pals. Best friends to the end. Their bond will never be broken. Then Lexi comes in being a little bastard. She's cold, mean, and believes that the people around her aren't important and bad, thanks to her upbringing. Luigi, despite being a socially awkward bean pole, he decides to friend Lexi. He constantly talks to her, includes her in conversations, and overall treats her well. He even helps her make more "friends" by inviting her to hang out with him and Mario. She's intrigued by his kindness, and is confused on his character, so she complies. She becomes nicer, and less cold. Sometimes she's still a little shit(I'm thinking in one of the trials she reveals that she messed around with evidence but now feels bad [not an excuse for it btw]), but she's making a lot of steps in the right direction. (Also yeah Luigi and Lexi grow feelings for each other because yes)
Maybe I'll write about the chapters and what happens in it. I'm tempted to turn it into an actual fic and write it all down for y'all, but while I know who kills who and motivations for killing, even executions, I don't know exactly how the murders happen. Like, "Oh Leon kills Sayaka. How does he do it? Uhhhh. Um. She tried to kill him but he turns it back into her. Yeah."
Maybe I'll do it anyways but make it low quality who knows

More love for the pink damsel
This is a rant, the first and the only, that I wrote a while ago and which I posted previously on DeviantArt and reposted on the Mario Amino, few days after the release of Super Mario Odyssey, after a new wave of hatred towards Princess Peach...
Considering that, nevertheless, the princess' relationship with most fans has always been ambiguous, what may have seemed to be tolerable, now is no longer acceptable speaking from the prospective of Peach's admirer, and hoping to be a spokesman for who, like me, genuinely appreciates her.
--------------------------------------------------
But before starting with the proper rant, why do I post this writing, even if they passed almost two years when I did write it? A YouTube video made by the quite famous personality of RelaxAlax which I Iink below.
youtube
Quite shallow, huh?
But this will NOT be an hate speech towards Alax, the rest of his videos are actually enjoyable and sometimes funny, but despite what he says in the video is nothing more and nothing less than what most Peach's haters actually say, I'm fearing that even due to this video, people are convinced to hate the pink princess without even knowing the truth behind her character.
But I must've taken you a lot of time, let's begin this speech, which was inspired by an older one (now deleted) posted by a friend of mine on Deviantart.
Let’s get started from the most recurring insults about the personality
"Peach is weak!!!"
While it’s true that for most of the games the Princess is kidnapped by Bowser or any enemy, it’s also the case that several times she has proved to be not so helpless, and even trying to escape to her kidnapper more than once indicates that Peach is not just staying there to patiently wait her hero; indeed, she was the only one along with Rosalina and Toadette who was been able to defend herself.
Some proofs? Super Princess Peach, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario 3D Land/ World, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Super Smash Bros series...
"So why is she always kidnapped?!"
Nintendo logic. Just joking, I think that the reason is due to the fact that Peach, like anyone else, is an human being, with her fears and anxieties, and so what can she do if suddenly there is a monster bigger at least the triple of her accompanied by an huge army? Not everyone is badass, and she obviously is not always, but is it a good reason to hate her? I don’t think so.
Also remember that even two stronger characters like Mario and Luigi often struggle during the battles with Bowser, how could a delicate princess?
So, in a more general view, how much it’s wrong to blame the victims and not the kidnappers? Why does everyone hate Peach for this and not BOWSER?
And there are Daisy, Pauline and Zelda, who were kidnapped as well, but still worshipped as goddesses...
"Peach is stupid!!1!"
If the Princess was actually that stupid, she wouldn't be on a throne ruling a whole kingdom peacefully nor even to try a time machine or even called to try to find a cure to a plague that affected the Mushroom Kingdom. She may not have an IQ of 300 like Dr Eggman, but that doesn't mean she's stupid.
Characters who are REALLY "stupid" on purpose, like Wario and Waluigi, loved because they are. Now, people, don't tell me you aren't uncoherent.
"Peach has no personality!1!"
So, a sweet and kind personality shouldn’t be a good character trait? Great, so we wasted years and years of characterization in a video game character.
Even a little development is always putted in while creating a characte and, as we are seeing, Miyamoto and Nintendo are generally developing the character of the princess, in the best, demonstrating that even the princess is not a fossilized archetype in Mario's existence for thirty years. She’s so sweet and kind, but also has values, friends and a dignity that defends strenuously.
Guys, Peach is human, so she has flaws, and that's right, but saying that she doesn’t have personality is an insult to both her and Nintendo in general.
Let's compare for a moment Peach and Rei Ayanami from Evangelion, and see who is not supposed to have personality. (although Rei also has a very strong, still not obvious, characterization that develops in the course of the series)
"Peach is a Mary Sue!!!1!"
A Mary Sue would theoretically is a character with too unnatural characteristics for their universe or species, overly powerful and often accompanied by a tragic backstory; in short, it's misleading in their context. By applying this description to Peach, how should she be a Mary Sue?
As explained in the previous paragraphs, the Princess, still mostly human, has a magical power that is always inferior to those of other characters, such as Rosalina; and comparing it with the Star Guardian, shouldn’t be her chararcter be more similar in the description of a Sue? Consistency, this unknown concept...
I see you already with the forks in your hands, but let me clarify one thing, even a character like Rosalina is not a Mary Sue, she still has her flaws, and we love her as she is, but if Peach is one, Rosalina fits the definition WAY more.
Let’s talk about the character design
"Peach always wears pink!!1!"
Come on, guys, hating a character for a color is a such superficial thing that, would do kindergarten children the most.
Pink is a color like all the others, in the spectrum of colors, so anyone can wear it, even males.
(Trivia: up to a few decades ago, pink was more of a masculine color, given to boys since it’s a lighter version of red, a color considered manly)
Peach is looking good with pink and no one in Mario games seems to complain too much about that, and so, so why do we fans do?
"Peach is girly!!!!1!”
And so? A female character to be worthy of this name must be a tomboy or a badass with a gun on her hands? You have great prospects in mind, my dear ones, just like that.
Seriously, why does a character who likes to cure herself, should be banned from today's media?
However, almost all the girls in the Mario games are femminine, even Daisy, despite being described as a tomboy, so it doesn’t seem a good excuse for hating a character.
"Peach is blonde!!!1!"
Guys that stereotype that everyone who is blonde must be stupid it's not only extremely outdated, but there are a lot of people who consider it quite offensive. Open your minds! Go, go! The isn't any relations about the quantity of melaninine on the hair and the actual intelligence.
Even Rosalina and most of the Zeldas encountered in the games are blondes, but nobody seems to care.
"Peach has an annoying voice!!1!"
All the characters in the Mario games have their voices emphasized, guys, and Peach isn’t an exception.
There are characters with even more exaggerated voices, trust me, like Daisy, Toad or Rosalina's new dubbing, but for certain reasons, only Peach should be demonized for that by fans.
"Peach is a prostitute!!1!"
This is one of the most recurring insults that are ever placed against our hated Princess, and that's what I'm wondering where most haters have been losing their credibility.
Did Peach ever wear provocative clothes? NO. (unless you have a fetishism towards biker suits and similar outfits)
Has she ever tried to seduce anyone she saw? NEVER (what you see on Rule34 and other lewd sites is not canon, I'm sorry)
Let's be clear: Peach is just the opposite of the stereotype of the prostitute, as being a sweet, gentle, and that kind of girl who rarely makes sloppy thoughts; And yet Mario is not the kind of game that is suitable to show sensual girls often.
Another point: how do people define as that Peach and not Pauline or Valentina from Super Mario RPG, who are wearing much revealing clothes (and not even worthy to be called with those sick names)? Mystery of the Faith.
PS. Giving a prostitute to someone is not fashionable anymore :3
Now, let’s analyse that kind of insults that relate with Peach’s relationships with other characters
"Peach isn’t grateful to Mario!!!!1!"
Ever since Peach has never been grateful to Mario? WHEN? She kisses him, and fills him with cakes. What should the Princess do more with him? having sex is not a good answer, and it doesn't even marrying him.
Mario is still a sweet and family friendly series, if you want NSFW art, go to rule34 or look good at deviantart, but don’t expect explicit scenes in similar games.
"Peach is a tyrant who abuses Toads!!!1!"
But since that is so, seriously, did I miss some details? And no, The Game Theorists, aren’t worth as a source of inspiration since theirs is only a mere SPECULATION (also badly made imho).
To me Peach has always seemed like the OPPOSITE of a tyrant! She’s a good sovereign who’s caring for her subjects, and most of the Toads are happy with her guide and willing whenever she needs help.
I guess you are thinking of the Toad used from the princess during Super Smash Bros: If we analyse well what our beloved mushroom does during the frames in which we can see him, we can notice that doesn’t acts as a shield for the princess, but is determined more than ever to attack with his spores, so for me this isn’t a point to demonise Peach at all.
Then do you think that in Smash bros Rosalina does something way more serious?! She fights with a Luma, one of her CHILDREN all the time. But since she is our beloved star waifu, Peach is not worth to be compared lmao.
Again this time implore the sacred goddess of the consistency for forgiving their vain words...
"Peach betrays Daisy!!!1!"
Peach and Daisy have proven themselves to be best friends since the first time they appeared together, and even now their idyllic relationship hasn’t stopped being shown in the games and even in that LINE stickers that came out a while ago!
How Peach Should betray Daisy? For Rosalina, for Pauline? I think all the girls in the world of Mario are friendly to each other, so I don’t see any reasons in a betray, since at worst they are in a friendly rivalry.
"Peach is much less sexy than Rosalina / Pauline!!!1!"
If I can understand why Pauline can be considered sensual, how should Rosalina be? She’s wearing just a turquoise dress, which does not reveals much, and which can only be sexualized in the most indecent fanarts drawn by FANS indeed, but we all know the new religion that places the guardian of the Lumas to a brand new god.
However, all of Mario girls have been designed to be beautiful, not sex objects, not even Pauline, and none of them will agree to be your beautiful waifus condescending to all your fantasies, deal with it!
"Peach is not tomboy like Daisy is!!!1!"
And this is what connects to the previous point where the Princess was insulted to be girly. Assuming that even Daisy, in her own way, is girly (if she was totally a tomboy, she wouldn’t certainly wear those long dresses with ease, nor she would have her notorious passion for flowers), it’s not nice to have a bit of variety in the characters personalities? Go on, Peach is a gentle and sweet girl, Daisy is exuberant and sporty, Rosalina, calm and majestic, Wendy spoiled yet powerful, Toadette cheerful and curious, and finally Pauline concrete and passionate. Everyone compensates their gaps with the others, and this balance between the girls is fine, so please do not compare all the girls, Peach first, to Daisy.
"Peach appears too much in the games, so she's overrated!!!1!"
Guys, our princess is one of the protagonists of Mario's videogames, along with the plumber, his brother, Bowser and Toad, so it's natural that she often appears in the games. After all, Peach (after Pauline, who belonged for long time to another series) is the first of the princesses to appear, so it's logical that Nintendo would value that in this way.
And another little thing: the word overrated does NOT mean popular in its own universe, it means overly popular among its FANS.
And Peach has relatively few fans compared to the other main characters.
And, as the final cherry on the cake, let’s talk about Odyssey, who can have reassume prevous points, but what is equally needed, because of the following reasons
"PEACH IS A BITCH WHO HASN’T ACCEPTED MARIO'S PROPOSAL, STUPID AND UNGRATEFUL!!!1! THAT’S OBVIOUS THAT MARIO CHOOSES PAULINE!!!1!"
And here we come to the juice of the speech, and at this point I would like to ask: but have you seen the final cutscene of the game, or are you just knocking on your keyboards to don’t make feel the keys alone and misunderstood?
Let’s assume that after a long, tiring journey along the WHOLE world, with a monster bigger at least the triple of you who is doing everything to organize a NOT-wanted marriage with you; and immediately soon after being rescued, at the end of an extravagant battle, you have not one, but TWO contenders for your hand, what are you doing? The doll who gives all of herself to her hero just because she saved you? But in which period are we, in the nineteenth century?
Guys, let's talk seriously, would you immediately answer to a such serious question, which can change the rest of your life, on the moon under such conditions? I really don’t think so.
So Peach did, showing her intelligence, and why not, joking over it. It wasn’t the place nor the time for Mario and Bowser to move such proposals, and I honestly think that Peach done right to refuse both of them, I believe, momentarily.
And so centuries of feminist struggles went cancelled because of a video game character...
"PEACH HAS LEFT MARIO AND BOWSER ON THE MOON!!1!"
Yeah, okay, Odyssey's final was what it was, but you can’t hate a character because she's not a puppet in Mario or Bowser's hand. Tell me, you first complained that Peach had no character and now that she has explicated it, in good, you hate her the same? Consistency, this unknown concept...
However, for this detail, have you noticed that Peach eventually called Mario on the Odyssey, even though it had already started to fly? Mario had all the time he needed to get on board with the Princess and her friends. Even if Mario couldn't make it to the Odyssey (which is also unlikely under a cautious analysis of the cutscene), I even highly doubt that not only Bowser but all the other wedding's guests (including PAULINE) were diying there, surely there was at least ONE other vehicle which could bring back them home.
Also think about Peach's dialogues in the post-game: she completely forgave Mario's misbehaving and she's still happy to see him to the point to give him all the moons she gets! So she’s not that ungrateful...
And that's what I needed to say. Guys, please stop hating Peach, she didn’t do anything, and certainly she doesn’t deserve your insults.
In these times, the princess is among the main characters the most hated, even much more than Daisy or Zelda, who have their great slice of fans, who would do anything for them and even considering them "better" in Smash Bros.
I'm sorry to have written this rant but I'm sure this time is really needed...
Fandoms, Mario included, can be beautiful places where you can meet fantastic people but at the same time you can witness this free hate episodes even from famous personalities...
Thank you for reading, and see you soon.
---------------------------------------------------
P.S. Below I show you the main places where the princess is hated for the above reasons.
Gamefaqs, TheTopTens.com, Marioboards, DeviantArt and Youtube
P.P.S. Please, do not go to the video I've mentioned only to insult the youtuber: despite that entry is far from being well-crafted, he made enjoyable content as well. He deserves respect as well and if you really want to discuss in the comment section about the subject, please be polite
P.P.P.S. If you hate Peach and you feel to comment here, please write maturely, well-structured comments. If we can have a mature dialogue, it's best for both of us.

For Your Entertainment ~ Chapter One
Summary: Luigi receives a mysterious letter.
Warnings: N/A
A/N: Welcome to the show! This is a dark little horror-esque story I wrote and finished up last year, and since it’s the month of spookiness, what better time than now to post it here? It may be a bit familiar to some people since I’ve published it elsewhere before, but I have changed and polished up some things since it’s publication last year. To the newcomers, welcome! Fair warning in advance though, this story will get darker. Keep an eye out for warnings in the future. But until then and without further ado, enjoy!
“Mail call!” Parakarry’s voice eagerly called out through the morning air.
He flapped his wings before landing, stretching out his arms and wings before reaching into his mailbag. He opened the mailbox outside the manor before him, whistling as he dug through his bag for the mail meant for this house.
He craned his neck, turning up to look at the green manor situated just up a small hill, a stone path leading to the front door. The quaint manor was certainly not the most extravagant of living spaces, but it was suitable. There was a well maintained garden gracing the front lawn, flowers of all colors, shapes, and sizes displayed upon the path.
Parakarry wiped the sweat off his brow, readying himself to fly off again when a voice called out.
“Good morning, Parakarry!”
Parakarry stopped, turning.
The owner of the manor appeared, rushing down the stone path to greet the Paratroopa with a smile on his face. The brunette’s hair was messy, his mustache uncombed as visible dark circles became apparent under his bright blue eyes. He had most likely just crawled out of bed.
“Ah, Luigi! Good to see you’re chipper today.” Parakarry grinned, watching as Luigi rushed up to the fence lining the yard, leaning against it.
“How’re you doing today, Parakarry?”
“I’m doing quite well. A bit frazzled, but quite well.”
“A lot of stuff to deliver today, huh?”
“That’s not even the half of it.” Parakarry chuckled. “The post office has been chaos since this morning. Postmaster said there was this little toad girl running around the office asking the rest of the employees about something. She’d been there since we opened. Totally threw him for a loop.”
“Do you know who she was?”
“No idea. The Postmaster thinks she was handing out fliers for something, I don’t know. He was already ordering me to get my tail out here, I didn’t have time to ask.”
“Oh, well, you’re right on schedule, I’d say.” Luigi laughed.
“I’d like to think I’m getting much better at delivering the mail on time.” Parakarry chuckled, slightly embarrassed. “If you happen to find anything in your mail is missing, that’s probably my fault… But, I’ll be sure to drop anything I missed off later, once I finish my route for today.”
“Well, don’t work too hard. Can I get you anything before you head off, Parakarry? I could get you a drink or something…”
“Oh, no. I’m in fine shape. Just have a long day ahead of me. There’s been a lot more letters coming in recently, which I hypothesize has something to do with that get-together the princess has been planning.”
“It’s only a meeting, Parakarry. I don’t think it’s that exciting.” Luigi smiled. “No one’s gonna be sending letters out to their grandparents about some king or prince coming to the Mushroom Kingdom to discuss economics with the princess.”
“Well, Toad Town gets excited over the littlest things, you know. Whether that be royalty figures getting together for, say… a ball, or a meeting, or a conference, or even for... tea time, really!”
“They’re just gonna be talking about trade negotiations and stuff like that. It’s all boring.”
“Oh, right, I’m sorry. I forgot you knew so much about the princess’s business ever since you and that prince got hitched… Your Highness.” Parakarry sneered, bowing playfully. “You’re going to be at the meeting anyway, don’t even know why I brought it up.”
“I’m not really royalty, Parakarry.” Luigi crossed his arms, a faint blush on his face as he turned, exhaling. “I’m just the prince consort.”
“Sureee… whatever you say.” Parakarry shrugged. “Just don’t come crying to me if you ever get kidnapped by Bowser or anything. If his knack for capturing royalty keeps up, that is.”
Luigi chuckled. “Then you’ll have to team up with Mario again to rescue me, I suppose.”
“I guess so.” Parakarry flapped his wings, turning away from Luigi with a hearty laugh. “I really should be on my way, though, friend. I still have so many letters to deliver, and there are so many impatient homeowners out there. A postman’s job is never done, after all!”
“I understand.” Luigi stepped back, smiling. “Be safe out there.”
“Of course!”
And with that, Parakarry flew off. Luigi waved goodbye to him, watching the postman until he disappeared from view into the cloudy sky in the distance.
Luigi stretched before pushing open the fence's wooden gate, retrieving his mail and sifting through it. He yawned, trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes as the sun continued to creep up over the hillside.
The mail mostly consisted of bills and scam letters from Waluigi, but a postcard from Mario made him smile, a warm feeling now in his chest. It was nice to think that his brother still had time to send him things, despite how busy he must be, traveling the world with his newfound cap companion and whatnot.
Luigi walked back into his manor groggily, dropping off the mail on the kitchen counter before walking to the bathroom to freshen up.
His pet, Polterpup, followed him curiously, leaping up against his owner’s legs to try and get his attention. Luigi smiled, laughing and promising the ghostly pup playtime later. He still had something to do today, after all.
Luigi did just enough to appear suitable before heading back out the door, walking down the path towards Toad Town. He had been up since early morning only because he wanted to get to Tayce T.’s kitchen before it got too crowded, and morning was his best bet. He didn’t exactly like being out alone at night, and Grambi forbid some poor soul try to go to the bakery in the afternoon. Luigi cringed at the thought.
All he needed was to pick up some ingredients for a few recipes he'd gotten as gifts from Peach for his birthday. While he was relatively good at cooking, he didn’t know a whole lot about making pastries. That was the princess’s specialty, not his. Luigi usually stuck to making various spaghetti dishes. But, most of the recipes given to him were for cakes, muffins, cupcakes, and the like, so he’d have to get a few ingredients from Tayce T. if he hoped on ever finishing even one of the recipes.
Not that he minded waking up early anyway. Early morning walks were always so beautiful. The creatures were starting to stir, and the sun was just starting to rise. He breathed slowly, taking in all the sights until he made his way into Toad Town.
Toads were congregating outside, walking in and out of stores and talking amongst themselves. Luigi’s presence didn’t faze them, not like if Mario was there. But, Luigi was fine with that. He didn’t like being randomly talked to and swarmed anyway. The toads still waved and said hello as he passed though, Luigi politely greeting them in return.
He eventually made it into Tayce T.’s kitchen, the little cook glancing up at Luigi as he entered. A faint smile graced her face as he walked in. She was already moving to reach into a cupboard to retrieve his items before he could even request anything of her.
”Ah, Luigi, welcome in! I’ve been preparing what you ordered. Just allow me to clarify…” She hummed, putting a bag out on the counter. “You just wanted the cake mix and a honey shroom, right?”
Luigi nodded, handing over the sufficient amount of coins for her as he smiled. “Grazie.”
She took the payment hesitantly, exhaling. “It's always so nice to see such a happy face, Luigi. I take it your morning has been lovely?”
”Yep! Actually, I was planning on making something sweet tonight for my hus-” Luigi paused upon noticing Tayce T.’s sunken features. Her gaze wasn’t focused on Luigi, instead staring forward with dull eyes. She looked… sad. “A-Are you alright, Ms. Tayce?”
”W-What? Oh, yes. My apologies!” Tayce T. flinched and held her hands together, nodding. “I’ve just been thinking about… oh, there was this incident this morning and… I don’t know. I'm sure it'll be alright. I'm fine." She offered a weak smile.
Luigi ventured further. “You’re… sure?”
”Most certainly, Luigi.”
"Do you want to talk-"
”Hey!” Another toad’s voice cut in, Luigi flipping around to make eye contact with a very agitated customer, who was tapping their foot impatiently on the floor. “Some of us also want to buy stuff!”
”O-Oh, I’m sorry, I-”
Tayce T. reached at Luigi’s hand, handing him his bag of ingredients. She smiled. ”Take care, Luigi. I trust I’ll see you again soon?”
"Oh, y-yeah!” Luigi attempted before being curtly shoved aside by the other toad.
Tayce T. looked at the customer disapprovingly before softening her expression, Luigi looking back at her. She glanced away before waving goodbye as Luigi made his way out the door.
Luigi sighed, cradling the bag of ingredients in his arms as he started back toward home. The walk back was peaceful, the young brunette catching small bits of conversation as the toads spoke to one another, talking about the day ahead.
”-and you haven’t seen him at all?”
The fragments of a conversation caught his attention.
He turned a corner, noticing a bright pink figure with her back turned to him, talking to a green-capped, mustached toad with glasses on his face. He was looking over a piece of paper, rubbing at his chin.
”...Nope. Can’t say I have. I wish you the best of luck in finding ‘im though.”
The pink figure stared down at the ground defeatedly as the green toad walked away, only perking her head up when she heard her name called.
”Toadette!”
”Luigi…?”
Luigi approached with a smile on his face, but froze, his breath hitching as Toadette turned to face him. Her expression was pale and positively mortified, clutching staggering amounts of paper in her arms like a vice.
”Toadette, a-are you okay?”
”Have you seen Toad?!”
The question caught him off guard.
”N-No… I haven’t. What’s wrong?”
Toadette wiped at the tears forming in her eyes, whimpering as she tried to compose herself. "T-Toad… Toad, he… I don’t know where he is, Luigi!”
Luigi felt his chest stiffen. “What?”
”A-About a week ago, I went out of the house to go hang out with Birdetta, and I left Toad home alone. When I got back later that night, he wasn’t there. And I-I don’t know where he would’ve gone, because I was only out for a few hours and-d he didn’t tell me he was going anywhere, and he would’ve told me if he did, and he didn’t leave a note or an-anything a-and I-!”
”Hey, hey…” Luigi, despite his own growing anxiety, tried to comfort Toadette. “Slow down.”
”I tried to j-just wait it out to see if he’d come home, but he still isn’t back! I wanted to take matters into my own hands, because I don’t know if h-he ran away, or if he got lost, or worse, but I-I couldn’t stand to just sit there while my brother was still missing, so I-I made these...”
She paused, sniffling and reaching towards the bundle of papers in her arms. She handed one over to Luigi, Luigi’s face noticeably paling as he examined the page.
It was a missing poster, the words alarmingly bolded with a photograph of Toad plastered on it, information lining the bottom.
”I tried getting these hung up all over town, the post office, the club, the boardwalk, the kitchen… b-but… no one has seen h-him so far, and I-I…” Toadette released a sob, nearly falling into Luigi’s arms.
”Toadette…” Luigi tried to reach a hand out to comfort her, but she shrunk back.
“I-I guess I’m probably just o-overreacting… he… he’s old enough to do what he wants… I-I just,” she hiccuped between sobs. “I wish he would’ve told me where he was going! I-I just want him to be okay. B-But, if he doesn’t want to be f-found, then…” She shook her head. ”If he doesn’t turn up s-soon, I’m going to go out and find him myself…! I-I have to know if my brother is okay!”
”Th-That sounds dangerous.” Luigi squeaked out. “I-I can look with you, and I’m sure Peasley wouldn’t object to joining us… You shouldn’t go alone.”
”Hopefully it won’t come to that.” Toadette concluded with a sigh, turning away as she rubbed at her eyes. “Just… keep an eye out for him, please. If you hear from him, let me know.”
”R-Right. Of course.”
Luigi didn’t have time to say anything else before Toadette promptly rushed off, approaching another couple of toads, handing them each the posters. Luigi turned to continue back home, despite now feeling a heavy sensation swelling deep within his chest.
An ominous feeling of dread loomed over him as he walked back to the manor.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Luigi’s walk back was mostly silent, aside from the occasional heavy sigh or nervous hum.
The thoughts of worry produced by the single haunting image of one of his friends on a missing poster made his stomach twist. He tried to steady his breathing and think rationally as he approached his house, sighing. As he passed the fence gate outside the manor and approached the door up the stone path, however, he paused.
There was an envelope placed on the doorknob, delicately balanced atop it.
Confused, he shifted his holding on the bag of ingredients and picked up the note, flipping it over to see if there was any information on it. All that was printed on the envelope was a picture of a star, colored in a violet ink.
Perhaps Parakarry had left one of his letters in the post office after all.
He pushed open the door, putting the cake mix and honey shroom away before carefully tearing open the mysterious envelope. With cautious fingers, he removed a sheet of paper from within and began to read what was neatly printed upon it.
‘Hello, Luigi.
It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? Far too long, I’d say. How long has it been? It was quite hard to keep track of time down there, I’m afraid.
I’ve been really busy, you see. It’s taken me ever so long to send you this letter.
They tried their hardest, their very hardest, to contain me. And I admire their amusing attempts. But, I’m quite the persistent person, like a spider weaving its web over and over on a rainy day.
To think, life works in mysterious ways. It’s quite funny, really, how our pasts catch up to us.
You and I have plenty in common. You may hate to admit it, but it’s true. You and I are much closer than you’d like to think. Haven’t you felt lonesome without me? I’m apart of you, after all.
May I indulge you in a secret?
You ruined me, Luigi.
Your weakness brought about my downfall. It led me to a horrific afterlife of endless torment. I endured so much suffering. Loneliness and eternal solitude consumed my days.
But, now, I’ve escaped from that treacherous prison known as death. And, as I had plenty of time to ponder, I know exactly what I want now.
I want to see you suffer, just as I had.
I’m going to make your life a living nightmare. All who you know and love, will be guaranteed a long and painful demise at my hands.
You ruined my chance at happiness and I’m only returning the favor.
I want nothing more than to see you break as you are forced to watch your life crumble apart.
I’ve spent so much time preparing for this, you see.
I shan’t spoil the surprise. Not yet. Nor will I reveal my identity. I want you to experience every moment of this spectacle for yourself.
It will be quite a show.
I’ll see you again soon, Luigi. I’m much closer than you’d like to think.

SUPER SMASH BROS. UNIVERSE Part 1, Chapter 1: Flood the Wedding Lake
THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM…
All across the Mushroom Kingdom things stop. The toads, goombas, and koopas put aside their chores and head to Princess Peach’s Castle to watch her coronation and her wedding. Peach has insisted that both affairs to happen on the same day, the first for the kingdom. She and Mario have waited long enough, so now that they had their moment of peace it was time for them to make to professor their love under the law.
The coronation happens before the sun is up. There are already hundreds of toads outside the walls of the castle waiting to get a glimpse of the new Queen. Princess Peach joins the cabinet in the Star Room to begin the coronation. There the Chancellor and the Toad Minister, the two leading heads of her cabinet, wait to officiate the process. The Chancellor is a toad with grey spots on his head, he dons a deep purple robe and a golden pendant to acknowledge his title. Toad Minister wears a green mushroom cap with a matching vest, and a gray curly mustache. The room is silent until the door opens, it’s Toadsworth. He is a high adviser to Princess Peach and the closest thing she has to a grandfather.
“Hi ho, Princess,” Toadsworth greets as he stands beside her. The room is still silent.
The Princess looks down at him, calmly and happily. “Hi ho.”
“Right, now that everyone is here,” the Chancellor starts. “It is time for the coronation to begin.” The Chancellor reads scripture from old Mushroom Kingdom texts that make sure Peach rules for the people. She promises to rule justly, peacefully, and courageously. After all the jargon, the coronation closes with the moving of the crown. “King Toadstern, is there anything you’d like to say?”
In front of the Peach and Toadsworth is Henry Toadstern, the interim King. He holds the crown in his hand, gripping it as tight as he can. “Losing this crown is going to be tough. I struggled with the duties for a while. But more recently I got comfortable with the crown. Although I knew my role was temporary, I hope my impression will be permanent. Your highness, if you need any guidance, know that you have my support.” Toadstern smiles but still grips the crown, the rest of the cabinet looks at Peach for her response.
“When my father informed me I would be heir to the crown I lost a lot of things. I lost my innocence to the kingdom, my mother and sisters to jealousy, and my father to disease. Like every girl in this position, I rebelled against it. I ran off with a man and became a damsel. But now that I’ve defeated mine and my kingdom’s biggest enemy, I can say that I am ready. And despite all the things I lost with the title of the crown, I am happy to say I gained a friend while I took the time to claim it,” Peach interrupts the ceremony to hug Toadstern. She bows her head and Toadstern holds the crown over her head, then places it on her blonde hair. Peach rises.
“Well, well,” Toadsworth smiles under his grey mustache. “The Mushroom Kingdom finally has a new Queen.”
Later…
The day has started and the castle is full of commotion. Toads are running around everywhere. Mario and his brother, Luigi, are hiding from all the chaos. Mario is just beginning to put on his suit for the wedding. His groomsman Luigi and Geno are trying to adjust whatever they can. Peach enters the room, Mario is aghast.
“Peach!” Mario shouts. “We’re not-uh supposed tuh see each other!”
“But look at it!” Peach bows her head to show Mario the crown.
“It’s huge!”
Luigi enters the room. “Woah Princess you’re gonna have tuh start doing exercises to keep that crown on your head.
“Luigi, it’s Queen,” Mario says.
“Ah right, sorry, your highness,” Luigi says nervously.
“Don’t worry about it Luigi, just call me Peach,” Peach smiles at Mario. They can’t seem to believe it is finally their wedding day. Someone barges in the room.
“Princess –Queen Toadstool!” It is Toadsworth. “You need to get ready!”
“Alright,” Peach complies and follows him back to her chambers.
As Toadsworth walks Peach back to her dressing room she notices all of the decorations. Floral valances are draped around the tall walls of the castle, pink and white roses hang from the ceiling. She looks out the window to see the toadstool flags fly above the towers, and spikes defend the surrounding area. Peach roams the castle to look at all the directions to make sure everything is perfect. The ceremony is being held in the great hall of the castle, with white benches and a pink carpet to complete the theme.
“Queen Toadstool” Toadsworth stops Peach.
Queen Peach giggles. “I’m not used to hearing that name.”
“It’s quite alright your highness, but you can look at the decorations later! We must ge ready!”
Toadsworth takes Peach to her dressing room where maids are there to help her get ready. The maids are waiting there setting up makeup, the dress, and anything else she needs before the wedding commences. However, Toadsworth sends the maids out so it is just him and her in the room. He sits Peach down and cranks up the chair so he is eye level with her. Toadsworth holds the makeup in his hand with a brush and starts to paint away.
“Toadsworth!” Peach smiles. “I didn’t know you could do makeup!”
“You’d be surprised the things I would do for you,” Toadsworth continues away on Peach’s face. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m worried,” Peach admits.
“About what? Mario?”
“No of course not. Mario is the least of my worries.”
“Then what?”
“I’m worried about the kingdom.” Toadsworth stops but Peach continues to speak. “All this time I’ve been gone I’ve just been a damsel. They think I’m a damsel. A damsel that isn’t fit to lead. I’ve wasted years getting captured by apes and overweight turtles. There needed to be an interim King because I couldn’t even defend myself! It’s embarrassing!”
“Then prove them wrong.”
Peach scoffs, “Don’t make it sound so easy Toadsworth.”
“It should be!” Toadsworth protests. “Bowser is gone, there is no more threat to the Mushroom Kingdom besides your insecurity.”
“Hmm,” Peach is quiet. “Why do you always know what to say?”
“I’m your grandfather, that’s what I’m here for Princess –er –um, I mean Queen.”
After Toadsworth finishes Peach’s makeup and hair, the door to the dressing room barges open. There Peach’s three sisters, Pinkie, Pearl, and Plum run into the room. All three sisters have blonde hair like Peach. Pinkie is tiny and small, but the prettiest out of the three sisters. Pearl is tall and skinny, with big lips and heavy features. Plum is short and fat, her hair only went to her shoulders and her dress seems just as short. They pour sand from odd places and smell of sweat.
“Where have you been?” Toadsworth shouts.
“It’s a long way from the Dry Dry Dessert,” Plum spits, some of which lands on Toadsworth’s face.
“Farther then the Wet Wet Tongue,” Toadsworth says while wiping the spit off his face. Toadsworth brings the maids back to finish getting the rest of the girls ready.
Before the wedding…
As the day goes on guests starst to arrive, Princess Daisy of Sarasaland is one of the first of many. She is joined by Rosalina, the guardian of the cosmos and one of the Lumas she looks after. Yoshi and Birdo come together and meet with the Kongs: Donkey, Diddy, and Dixie. They find their seats in the first few aisles. Cappy and Pauline joined the ceremony as well. The rest of the great hall is filled by toads, toadettes, goombas, koopas, and boos.
The ceremony begins, Mario stands waiting at the head of the great hall with Luigi and Geno as his groomsmen. Pinkie, Pearl, and Plum awkwardly walk down the great hall across from Mario. Suddenly, the shuffling of feet spread through the great hall but you don’t see anyone get up, except the humans. Queen Toadstool, for the last time is covered in white. She graces down the aisle and meets Mario’s hand. The Toad Minister walks them through their vows, then Mario pulls back the vail.
“Did Toadsworth do your makeup?” Mario asks.
“Yes! Yes he did!” Peach laughs.
“It looks great, Peach.”
“And you may kiss the Queen,” The Toad Minister watches as Mario kisses her into a dip. The great hall echoes with cheer. In the courtyard, all the toads that camped out cheer as well. Mario takes her down the aisle and they begin the celebration!
After the wedding…
All around the gardens of the castle are tables and games for everyone to play. Toadsworth, Chancellor, and Toad Minister oversee everything like the old toads they are. Peach is overjoyed to see Daisy and Rosalina. Pauline and Cappy lead the band. As dinner gets closer everyone starts to get settled in their seats. During this time, Peach’s sisters say goodbye, they claim they have to be back to the Dry Dry Desert as soon as possible. Peach thought they cared but it is apparent that they don’t. Daisy and Rosalina fill their seats at the wedding table so Peach doesn’t continue to be upset.
Dinner is supposed to start, however, Luigi is supposed to make his speech but he is nowhere to be found. Peach sends Daisy to find him. It doesn’t take long for Daisy to find Luigi, she knows all of his hiding spots. She finds him in the bathroom on the third floor near the ballroom. Daisy knocks on the door.
“Just hurry up! I gotta go too,” Daisy jokes. She hears fumbling, then flushing, then the running of water. Luigi comes out looking like he usually does: nervous. “Do you want me to stand with you while you give the speech? I could introduce you!”
“Yeah-uh that would be good,” Luigi and Daisy start walking. “–Don’t you have to go to the bathroom?”
“Not anymore.” Daisy smiles. They head back to the tents where people are patiently waiting for their dinner. Everyone is silent. Dead silent. Daisy grabs the microphone.
“Hi everyone!” Daisy boasts. “Dinner is gonna take a little bit, I think the chef dropped his mushroom top in the soup. So now we’ll be having creamy mushroom soup instead of creamy bisque.” Silence still. “Anyways, the best man and brother of the groom would like to make a speech, Luigi!”
Luigi takes the mic but can barely hold onto it. “H-hi.” He opens his crumbled paper, wipes the sweat off his brow and prepares himself. “My brother is –a –a hero in my eyes. He has –uh saved me, countless times. As well as the Princess. I mean Queen. H –he has also –uh. He has also helped me learn –a –about politics –and –and people and love. He has shown me love. And I –I hope you see how –how much of a hero he is too, Peach.” Luigi sits down next to Mario who hugs him and kisses him. Toadsworth gets up on a stool so he can be seen and is handed the mic.
“Thank you Luigi. Now, this evening I’ve heard Peach correct people hundreds of times. Normally I would say you know, ‘Peach you can’t do that, it is rude’ but I realized the reason she was correcting people is because they kept calling her princess. Peach’s title isn’t princess, it’s Queen. Now, mistaking a regale’s title can banish you from the premises, however, we have gallons of mushroom soup that someone needs to eat. So we will wait till after everyone eats the mushroom soup to banish them.
“Did you know that no one has ever had their coronation and wedding on the same day, no one! In the entire Mushroom Kingdom history. Queen Peach managed to implement two essential ceremonies into one day. Now, I know she may have been absent for a while, however, planning two royal ceremonies in the same day is the hardest thing she will have to do as Queen. So for anyone that doubts her, know that. And to Mario, know that Princess Peach may have been your damsel to save but she is the Queen now. Congratulations to the both of you. Now let’s eat!”
The food is finally released to the masses, now the celebration can really begin. Rosalina’s lumas make a light show in the sky for everyone to view and enjoy. Some of them come over to the wedding table.
“Oh Daisy!” Rosalina calls Daisy’s attention. “I think that it’s time we have a friend in Sarasaland.” Rosalina brings over a orange colored Luma and gives it to Daisy. “It can communicate with any of the Lumas. So you can reach me, or Peach at any time, whenever you want.”
“Thank you!” Daisy jumps up and down. She takes her Luma to meet Luigi so she can bring him to the dance floor.
Rosalina inches closer to Peach. “So how come Mario isn’t King? You’re the Queen and he married you. Shouldn’t that make him King?”
“In the Mushroom Kingdom there are certain rules for the royal family. If you aren’t the heir of the crown then you have to go through a certain set of trials to be welcomed into the nobility. So in Mario’s case, after he marries me he has to affirm a governmental policy, law, act, or treaty and it has to be approved by my cabinet. And secondly he has to pay debt to me, like give me a child or restore my reputation –anything like that.”
“So in order to qualify as King he needs to pay dues to you and the kingdom.”
“Right, to prove his loyalty. His title would be King Adjutant, just because I have rank over him.” There is a pop in the sky.
“Ooh, it looks like the light show is getting interested, let’s go watch,” Rosalina takes Peach and Mario to watch the Lumas in the sky dance about. Colors flash around and swirl in different motions that mesmerize everyone watching.
Shortly after the light show people start to leave. Mario says goodbye to Geno, Pauline, and Cappy. Most of the other guests leave as well. It starts to get cold so Peach takes the party inside. After they enjoy a few glasses of wine, Daisy starts to get tired and calls for a carriage to take her and her Luma home. Yoshi, Birdo, and the Kongs don’t stay long after that either. Rosalina waits till it’s pitch black outside, this way the Lumas and the moon can illuminate a clear path to the Space Observatory. Mario, Peach, and Luigi talked for a while before they all started falling asleep.
Later that night…
Suddenly, a big rumble shook the ground around the castle. Mario gets dressed and heads to the balcony, expecting to see Bowser return with a bigger and hotter air ship. He is surprised to see water pouring out from over the shrubbery rampart. It pours from the east and south sides, though in that direction are villages of the Mushroom Kingdom. The rampart is surprisingly strong enough not to collapse but doesn’t stop the flow of constant water. Peach joins Mario outside of the balcony to watch as the moat overflows, the lawn becomes oversaturated and the land is flooding.
“Your highness,” Toadsworth runs in, stops and notices that Peach and Mario are already aware of the disaster. “Meet us downstairs.”
Mario and Peach meet Luigi and the cabinet at the second story main stairwell. They notice that the first two steps leaving the first story are underwater. Peach looks over to Luigi, he still has his sleeping cap on and his overalls are backwards. Luigi’s eyes roll to the back of his head, he leans backwards, then forwards then, SPLASH! Into the water.
“Well he’s awake now!” Toadsworth comments. “We do we suppose we do?”
“Huh! What kind of question is that?” Toadstern asks.
“Mushroom Kingdom has never had a crop die, a serious drought, or a copious amount of water in its entire existence. Apparently today is the day where all the records are broken!”
“We need to get a group of toads to start building a barrier,” Toad Minister commands. “Mario we’ll need your help with that.”
“What about the dungeons? There’s people in there!” Toadstern asks.
“We need to make sure the drainage system is still intact too,” Toad Minister adds.
“What about the damage control on the first floor, what if people are trapped somewhere?” Toadstern wonders.
“QUIET!” Toadsworth shouts. “We need time to think.”
“No –uh, you don’t,” Luigi mutters.
“What did you just say to me boy?” Toadsworth asks in disbelief.
“Grandpa,” Peach tames Toadsworth.
“Woah! Luigi and I can handle this,” Mario starts. “Peach and the cabinet will go to the Toadstool Manor. Luigi and I will take care of the flood, we’re plumbers!”
“And how exactly do you plan to fix the flooding issue?” Chancellor asks.
“Let me handle that Chancellor,” Mario says.
“You heard him, pack a bag.” Peach says. The cabinet leaves unhappy with the situation but complying anyway. “Mario, I do hope you know what you’re doing.” Peach leaves Mario and Luigi to deal with the flooding.
“So Mario, what are we gonna do about the flooding?” Luigi asks.
“Gee Luigi, I have no idea,” Mario admits.
Moments later…
Two carriages are waiting outside the castle. Peach holds her dress up to see the water up to her calves. Peach, her Luma, and Toadstool get into the first carriage then the rest of the cabinet get in the other. The Toadstool Manor is all the way down the north road leading out of Peach’s Castle. It’s quite smaller from the castle but is a wonderful summer home that Toadsworth often lives in to get away from the castle.
“This is quite odd Peach…” Toadsworth has been trying to wrap his head around this situation. The Mario brothers ran them out of the castle almost instantly. Toadsworth needs to discuss this with someone. As he has said before the Mushroom Kingdom has never suffered.
“I don’t want to talk about this,” Peach quashes. She hasn’t been given the time to think. No one has. She needs to sit inside her head for a while. “Luma, contact Rosalina and let her know what happened.” This may be the most important decision she makes. In a crisis like this they need support from outside people. Rosalina doesn’t have room for the entirety of the Mushroom Kingdom but she does have resources and more importantly guidance. She will gladly be a hand in the storm. If there is anything that the Mushroom Kingdom needs it is a helping hand. Peach considers reaching out to Donkey Kong and Yoshi. She doesn’t see any of the cabinet going so, she’ll have to –they stop.
One of the drivers opens the door. “Your highness, it seems as though the road has suffered some damage.”
“Well can we move through it?”
“We can, but I’m not sure how it will be as we continue.”
“Let’s carry on. Let me know if anything else happens.” The door closes and Peach is left to her thoughts. Peach will check in with Mario when they get settled into the mansion. They continue on as Mario and Luigi try to fix the problem at the castle.
Across the water…
Across the Wedding Lake (named after the day it was created on), Birdo is dripping from the waves that just attacked her. She looks below as the villages of the Mushroom Kingdom are now destroyed. She shakes her head, refusing to think about all of her friends that are under water. The waves seem to come from nowhere! The Mushroom Kingdom had never faced any sort of disaster like this before.
As she is flying she sees something red in the water. Birdo floats down to see a kid in a red boat with a dragon-like face. She thinks she saw the head move. Birdo stares at it intensely. It must not have. She circles around to the boy who is dressed in green. She hears someone murmur, it must be the boy. Birdo hears it again. She catches the jaw of the dragon moves and circles around to look at it. Is she imagining things? Birdo did enjoy herself at the wedding, maybe she should just move on. Birdo reaches out her claw to touch the dragon. It bites her!
“Link! Link! Wake up!” The dragon boat shouts. The boy, Link, wakes up and slashes his sword around. Birdo backs off. Link then pulls out a baton and swirls it around the air. The breeze starts to pick up, Link mounts a sail, then they get carried by the breeze and drift away from Birdo.
Birdo continues on her journey. She needs to make it back to Bowser’s Castle without anyone noticing. She sneaks in the way she normally does, avoiding all of the Hammer bros. guards and spotlights. She perches herself on the great hall window where she sees Kamek stirring a big cauldron. The koopalings are watching Kamek intensely.
“Hey Birdo!” Bowser Jr. shouts. “Where’ve you been?”
“Looking at the flood that happened between here and the Mushroom Kingdom,” Birdo answers.
“Well look at this instead,” Larry, one of the koopalings chirps.
“What are you guys doing?”
“Ludwig and Kamek perfecting a potion to bring Bowser back! Hopefully to finish Mario this one last time,” Bowser Jr. explains.
Kamek and Ludwig are almost done with the potion. He winds up the wand and blasts a magic spell into the bubbling cauldron. The potion starts to change color from a light green to a dark red. It is clear that the potion has turned to lava. The koopalings cheer as this transformation is happening. Kamek can see Birdo’s face beginning to worry. Suddenly, a tender claw reaches out and grabs the edge of the cauldron.

daisy..... ACTUALLY all four princesses, peach daisy rosalia and pauline
Alright it’s gonna be a long one!!
Princess Peach
favorite thing about them
I love how cute she is!! But she’s still shown to be tough and not afraid to speak her mind or go out and fight if needed!! She’s also very sweet and cares a lot about her friends!
least favorite thing about them
This isn’t really about her personally but I wish she wasn’t written as the helpless damsel in distress anymore. So many games have shown her as super headstrong! But if she is going to be kidnapped, I wish it could be like how it is in paper mario or ttyd where it shows even when she’s kidnapped, she sneaks around to try and escape or help Mario take down the villains from the inside!!
favorite line
“I fell through too, and landed right on Bowser! It was a surprisingly soft landing…”
brOTP
Her and Mario!! They’re best friends!!
OTP
Her and Daisy!! The’re a power couple!!
nOTP
I just don’t like implications of romance between her and bowser, I think they could be friends but Peach is just never gonna see him romantically
random headcanon
After the super crown with Peachette and stuff was revealed, I like to think that the reason Toadette “powers up” to look like Peach is because Peach is actually a more powerful type of toad! She’s just naturally really strong, and regular toads can only hope to become as strong as her by using a power up
unpopular opinion
I can’t think of much else to say here other than I just think it’s unrealistic for her to still be getting kidnapped in the newer games
favorite picture of them
I’ll be using official art for all these!
I LOVE the art style of 80s/90s anime so I’m a bit of a sucker for the Princess Peach from The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach
Princess Daisy
favorite thing about them
She is spunky and LOUD and proud of it babey!!! She is my favorite feminine tomboy icon!!
least favorite thing about them
I just wish she could be in another game again that isn’t a spinoff!! If Peach is still the damsel, maybe have Daisy jump in to help save her? I’d love that!!
favorite line
“Hi! I’m Daisy!”
brOTP
Similar to Peach, I see her and Luigi as best friends!! Since she’s very extroverted and loud, she helps to try and build up Luigi’s courage! She also checks in on him often and doesn’t mind doing things in his place if his anxiety is getting to him
OTP
She’s the butch to Peach’s femme
nOTP
She has high standards, stop drawing her with Waluigi u bafoons
random headcanon
Daisy doesn’t mind wearing dresses, but she really only does it for public appearances since it’s the custom for royalty in the Mushroom kingdom and surrounding kingdoms. When she’s just out and about she’s often just rocking some jeans and a cool shirt and jacket!
unpopular opinion
Some ppl think she’s annoying because she’s loud but I love it, I love women who aren’t afraid to be loud, but just because she’s brash doesn’t mean she doesn’t care about her friends deeply!
favorite picture of them
Her mario strikers art!! She looks great in the gritty aggressive style!
Princess Rosalina
favorite thing about them
She is GORGEOUS first if all, my 8 year old self gasped when I first saw her. My first love… But anyway I love how graceful she is, she is so serene. But behind that calm and serious demeanor, she holds extreme power! She’s probably the most powerful character in the mario franchise!!!
least favorite thing about them
I can’t think of anything I hate about her, she’s probably the most developed of all the princesses, her backstory reveals a lot of struggles she went through. I guess I wish her powers were explained, we don’t really know why she’s magical or immortal.
favorite line
“Thank you… I will watch over you from beyond the stars.”
brOTP
Mario is probably one of her closest friends since he helped save her observatory and lumas, but since she’s spending more time on earth she’s become very close to Peach, Daisy, and Pauline!
OTP
I don’t really see Rosalina getting involved with anyone romantically actually
nOTP
If she were to date anyone, it wouldn’t be a boy that’s for sure lmao
random headcanon
Rosalina was once reluctant to make friends due to being immortal, she’s afraid of eventually being forced to lose them. But I think using her powers she decided to bless her friends with relative immortality so she wouldn’t have to deal with the same grief she felt from losing her family. And that’s why Mario and co haven’t shown any signs of aging
unpopular opinion
I didn’t really like the voice actress switch, I think her original was better than the current one. Her current VA isn’t bad though! Just not my favorite
favorite picture of them
Okay this concept art of her from the mario odyssey book is ICONIC and such a gay look
But also this smug ass gif of her is a fat mood
And Finally Pauline!
favorite thing about them
Pauline is THAT BITCH. She dropped off the face of the planet and turns out she was working on her political campaign that whole time! I’m so proud of her! But despite her new position, she still loves to have fun and go out and sing!
least favorite thing about them
Like Peach and Daisy I wish there was more to her character bc I can’t find a least favorite trait, just things I wish nintendo would do with her character! It would be cool if after her odyssey appearance we start to see her more in staple mario games!
favorite line
Literally all of the song Jump up, Super Star!
brOTP
She and Peach are best friends!! The two help each other recover over their previous traumas over being kidnapped and offer political advice to each other on governing their nations! They also just love going to late night karaoke with the other girls!
OTP
I ship Peach with Daisy the most, but Peach and Pauline is a close number 2
nOTP
DK. That’s awful for several reasons. Pls don’t do this
random headcanon
Pauline struggled with what she wanted to do in life for a long time, and the trauma she experienced from being kidnapped made her feel scared and confused about the future. But while in recovery, she realized how positions of leadership made her feel powerful again! So she decided to become a politician in order to become a leader and bring herself confidence, as well as inspire as many people as she can in her city!
unpopular opinion
I don’t think she has any romantic feelings towards Mario lol
favorite picture of them
Her suit in odyssey kills me!!! Fuck it up Pauline!!!

Check the reading order to see how the other sides go as well as Credits.
Thanks to the two Pinkie Pies, the party was indeed excellent. But eventually they all returned back to their home worlds. With Tony and his gang, everything went back relatively normal. Tony continued to be the sheriff of the Middle Ground. Sonic and Blaze continued dating. Shadow continued to explore other parts of his life and finally cleaned off the dirt he was covered in before entering the event. X, Zero and Razor returned to the Galactic Federation and went back to their normal jobs. And Dimitri went back to Ghost Hunting with Amy.
Gemel went to see his father, Dr. Robotnik in prison. He informed the imprisoned doctor that Metal's body was destroyed yet his programming was still alive within him. The Eggman promised to fix him but he could only do it after he finished serving his sentence. Gemel had another idea. Asking Tails for help, he convinced the Warden to give the Fox temporary custody of Dr. Robotnik. With two scientists working on Metal's new body, he's going to be better than ever. And maybe working alongside such a hero can be credited for good behavior.
Kirby and his friends returned back to Dreamland. King Dedede returned to be its self-proclaimed ruler which doesn't seem to bother anyone. Especially not Bandanna Waddle Dee. Meta Knight and his forces reunite as they continue to try to protect Dream Land before any true threat arrive. Susie returned to space to patent the robot designs she managed to copy. Knuckle Joe began to train since he felt his performance at the event was truly lacking. As for Kirby and Gooey, they continue to do what they always do: have fun with their friends.
“Thank you for saving us.” Ribbon said as she kissed Kirby on the cheek. The Pink Puffball Blushed. Ribbon was knocked away by ChuChu. “Thank YOU for saving US.” ChuChu proceeds to hug and kiss Kirby. Tiff looks in the sky and wonders. “It always seems some cosmic horrors always try to ruin everything we've worked for.” She turns to see Kirby being chased around by ChuChu as the others look on laughing. “But I'm glad no matter what horrors you've faced, you're still the same Kirby who will save us again and again.”
For Mario and his friends, the horror of Mecha Sonic has finally ended. The Star Spirits thanked them for saving not only their world, but the universe as well. And so our heroes went back to their normal routine. The Mario Brothers continued to protect the Princess from Bowser. Yoshi was helping the Islanders find a new permanent home. Goombella went back to Professor Kolorado to continue helping his research. Sonic continues to travel around the Mushroom Kingdom. Shadow went back to Toadette to repay her kindness.
But in an unknown location, another evil begins to awake. Multiple different voices can be heard. “The Axem Rangers have been gone for a long time.” “They're the most loyal. They wouldn't betray him.” “That must mean that they were destroyed.” “I bet it was that Plumber again.” “That does not matter now. Our Lord's repairs are complete and it will only be a matter of time before he awakens.” And a large metal body begins to stir. Despite its size, the body begins to rise. Its chains for arms begin to float and its eyes open. Smithy has returned.

Blossoming Connection - Chapter One
Here is the first chapter of my newest story. It's the one I posted a preview of earlier this week.
Hair as lustrous as a freshly polished golden trophy cascading gracefully just beyond her waist. Split sideburns and a heart-shaped fringe framing a soft oval face which glowed with an alabaster hue. Large baby blue eyes that sparkled warmth and friendliness, inviting others to draw near. Soft, full, and normally peach tinted lips that frequently exhibited kind, curious, and sometimes playful smiles. Lips that harbored perhaps her biggest secret weapon: two rows of immaculate snow-white teeth that should those luscious face pillows allow them to see the light of day are capable of sending the sun to the unemployment line and even rendering the most self-assured people wholly incapable of any rational thought.
Yet, Peach was far more than just a pretty face. She embodied elegance and sophistication in a way that captivated everyone around her. Despite her noble heritage, she never looked down her nose at anyone. On the contrary, she was possibly the kindest and most compassionate person Luigi had ever encountered. Always eager to listen, she took a sincere interest in those fortunate enough to meet her. Her integrity shone through as she consistently honored her promises, never intentionally breaking one. This was clearly illustrated when she welcomed him and Mario into her realm with open arms upon her first rescue from Bowser with heartfelt enthusiasm. Moreover, she frequently went out of her way to spend quality time with them and ensured their every need was met. While others might feign kindness, even the mostly guarded Luigi had to admit that the princess was the genuine article.
One of the qualities Luigi truly respected was her unwavering commitment to justice. She was never one to remain passive while others faced hardship, be it people or kingdoms in peril. While she had a practical approach to challenges, she was far from a delicate lady who shied away from getting her hands dirty or risking her appearance when it was time to spring into action. She had proven herself time and again and had even embarked on adventures alongside him and Mario. What truly amazed him was her ability to achieve remarkable feats while gracefully navigating in a dress and heels!
Even when she wasn't directly involved, she showcased remarkable resourcefulness. She tirelessly gathered crucial intel and power-ups to assist him and Mario on their adventures, even when held in captivity. In truth, her contributions played a significant role in enabling Mario and him to rescue her and triumph over Bowser and various foes time and again.
Beautiful. Kindhearted. Optimistic. Elegant. Resilient. Princess Peach personified the quintessential fairy tale princess, radiating charm and grace wherever she went. She had an irresistible allure that made it easy for anyone to adore her, and Luigi, aside from Mario, was perhaps the one who fell for her the deepest.
Sadly, she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. Then again, he had never found the courage to share his true emotions. Why would he? Why would he expose himself to such potential embarrassment? He possessed enough self-awareness to recognize that she was way out of his league. He understood that he would always linger in the shadow of his more charismatic brother. He was the type of guy who would flinch at the mere sight of his own shadow. The same guy who felt socially awkward even in the most laid-back environments. The same guy who remained in the background, despite being the one who resolved the problems. He was hardly a catch for ordinary women, let alone for someone of royal stature. Thus, no matter how much it tormented him inside, he made a silent promise to keep his thoughts to himself.
Luigi's introspective silence was abruptly interrupted by the French doors swinging open with a soft creak. He let out a weary sigh, assuming it was Mario coming to check on him. However, the elegant sound of high heels clicking toward him was far different than his brother’s heavy familiar footfalls.
“There you are, Luigi!”
The soft, melodious voice that filled the air was unmistakably not Mario’s. This voice, which typically brought warmth and joy to his heart, had morphed into a heavy weight, shattering the fragile glass of his emotions. He turned slightly, casting a glance over his shoulder to find Princess Peach with her hands clasped over her brooch and a look of relief washing over her face.
Great, what is she doing here, he thought with a twinge of bitterness. He forced a flimsy smile. “Oh, hey there, Princess.”
“I’m glad to see you’re still here,” she replied with a small smile of her own. “We searched everywhere for you! We thought you might have gone home already.”
“Yeah, I’m still here,” he chuckled weakly. He mentally scolded himself for not considering the thought of returning home. Maybe he could’ve avoided this potentially awkward position.
Peach acknowledged with a nod; however, her smile slowly faded into a concerned gaze. “Luigi, is everything alright?”
Though he felt anything but fine, he was determined to keep that to himself. “Everything’s just fine,” he replied before redirecting his eyes forward.
“Are you sure?” Peach countered, skepticism creeping into her voice. “I may be wrong, but something tells me you’re not being completely honest with me.”
“I can assure you that I’m fine,” Luigi sighed, silently wishing for her to take the hint and leave him be. “Just needed some fresh air, that’s all.”
Sadly, Peach softly rested her hand on his shoulder, prompting a slight flinch from him. “Luigi, I want to start by saying you shine in so many ways. You’re a wonderful brother, a loyal friend, an excellent cook, a great listener, and an exceptional person overall. However, one thing you’re not is a convincing liar. Please, look me in the eyes and tell me what’s troubling you. I might be able to help.”
Luigi’s shoulders tightened as a faintly annoyed smile tugged at his lips. He had forgotten how resolute Peach could be when it came to the well-being of those she cherished. She was adamant about discussing the matter until it was completely addressed and unfortunately for him, this appeared it wouldn’t be any different. With a resigned sigh, he turned to face her and was met with a concerned gaze and the gentle, yet anxious smile accompanying it.
“See, that wasn’t so difficult!” she teased lightly, her fingers lightly gripping his shoulders before her demeanor shifted to one of sincerity. “Now, are you ready to tell me what’s bothering you? I’m sure it’s not as bad as you may think.”
Easy for you to say. You’re not the one with a broken heart, Luigi thought wryly. He desperately wanted to turn his attention elsewhere, but those large, beautiful eyes had this unyielding pull that anchored him in place. Her compassionate gaze gradually weakened his resolve and soon enough, he felt the all-too-familiar sting of tears welling up. He attempted to blink them away, but a couple created paths of sadness down his cheeks.
In a split second, the tender smile that graced Peach's face morphed into a pronounced frown, as if a cloud had suddenly obscured the sun. “Luigi,” she spoke softly, “please speak to me. You know you can talk to me about anything.”
Luigi berated himself for yielding so easily as he continued trying to stave off the remaining tears that threatened to leave his eyes. A heavy sense of dread settled in his gut, knowing that this could be the turning point in his relationships with Peach and Mario, and not necessarily in a way that promised happiness. With a profound exhale, he braced himself for a daunting ordeal that felt far more formidable than any encounter with Bowser.
“Your Highness,” he began, a wave of timidity washing over him, “you’re absolutely right; I am not OK. However, I’m afraid to say why because things may never be the same.”
“What do you mean by that, Luigi?” Peach’s brow furrowed.
“Well, i-it has to do with what happened a few minutes ago,” Luigi hesitated.
“A few minutes ago?” Peach questioned with a perplexed look on her face. Suddenly, her eyes grew wide, as if a light bulb had just flickered in her mind. “You don’t mean when Mario and I announced our relationship? I thought you would be the happiest for us, yet it appears to cause you pain. Why would that be the case?”
With a heavy swallow, Luigi realized the moment had come; he was about to drop the bomb that would scatter everything like shards.
“What if,” his voice barely audible as he spoke, “what if I were to tell you…that Mario isn’t the only one who has developed feelings for you?”
Peach's brow knitted even tighter together in confusion. “Luigi, what are you-” She stopped mid-sentence as her eyes grew even larger in astonishment. She gasped loudly before a gloved hand quickly darted over her mouth.
“Luigi? Are you saying…you’re in love with me?!”
There it was: the truth swaying above them like a chandelier ready to plummet from the ceiling. “Yes,” Luigi responded in a hushed tone, his voice trembling as the tears he had held in check began cascading down his face. “I’m sorry, your Highness.” Fearing her reaction, he swiftly turned his attention to his boots and the delicate hem of her gown, avoiding her eyes at all costs.
You bumbling idiot; why weren’t you strong enough to keep your thoughts to yourself?! he castigated himself. For a while, the only noise echoing in his ears was the relentless pounding of his heart. The desire to leap from the balcony and dash home so he could hide under his bed in shame was burning inside him. However, he wouldn’t do that to Peach. He wouldn’t drop a bomb of this magnitude on her and leave her to pick up the scattered pieces. Though fear gripped him at the thought of facing her now, he resolved to remain and confront the fallout of his choice.
He questioned the wisdom when Peach’s delicate hand cradled his chin and guided his face to meet hers. The sight that greeted him was like a chainsaw ripping through the fragile fabric of his heart. Her baby blue eyes shimmered with unshed tears, locking onto him with an intensity that made his breath hitch. This was the moment he dreaded—the moment she would unleash her fury for ruining what should have been a celebration for her and Mario. He braced himself, eyes squeezed shut, anticipating the sting of her slap followed by a harsh reprimand. Yet, instead of a stinging blow, her slender arms encircled and pulled him closer to her. Her cheek pressed against his, and the warmth of her tears mingled with his own.
“Luigi,” her voice faltered as she leaned closer, her breath warm against his skin. “Why didn’t you say anything?!”
“You weren’t supposed to know, your Highness,” Luigi confessed softly as he hesitantly returned her embrace. “No one was supposed to know.”
Peach responded to his hug by squeezing him a little tighter. “Not even Mario knows?”
“He does now!”
The sudden sound of that recognizable voice caused both Luigi and Peach to jump in surprise. When Luigi dared to glance over her shoulder, the sight awaiting him made his blood run cold.
There stood Mario, his eyes and jaw open wide. However, he quickly regained his composure and strode toward Luigi and Peach, his expression unreadable. Peach released her embrace and turned to her new boyfriend with a hint of worry. As Mario came to a stop in front of them, his intense gaze bore down on Luigi. Though Luigi had the height advantage, he had never felt so small in his older twin’s presence.
“Luigi,” Mario started with a calm demeanor. “How long have you felt this way about the princess?”
Luigi's instinct was to reply instantly, yet as Mario's unwavering gaze fixed on him, his mouth turned to sand, and he felt himself withering under the weight of scrutiny. The warmth of Mario's hands enveloping his own only intensified his anxiety. Panic bubbled up inside him, and he secretly longed for the ground to swallow him whole.
Mario offered a comforting smile to Luigi. “It’s OK, Luigi. Just relax and take a slow breath. I’m right here. Now, are you ready to talk? I know it’s not easy, but we need to confront this before we can move on. Take all the time you need; I’m here for you."
Luigi felt his nerves dissolve at the sight of Mario’s easy smile, as if they were ice cubes in a warm drink. He took a deep breath, allowing a shy smile to form. “Your Highness,” he turned to face Peach, “I’ve had a crush on you ever since that first rescue.”
Peach’s breath caught for a moment before a tender smile spread across her face, making Luigi’s cheeks flush with embarrassment.
“I understand now,” Mario said, his expression shifting as if a puzzle piece had finally clicked into place. “You’ve been in love with her for just as long as I have. Yet, you’ve stood by me, cheering me on and offering encouragement when I doubted myself, all while hiding your own feelings. Just how long did you intend to keep this under wraps?”
A timid smile danced on Luigi’s lips, his cheeks growing warm with embarrassment. “Until I was in the Overthere.”
A collective gasp erupted from both Mario and Peach, their shock unmistakable. Mario’s eyes bore into Luigi’s with a deep sadness. “You really planned to bear this burden forever?!”
The somber look on Mario's face made Luigi's heart sink, and he could only respond with a feeble nod. In an instant, he was swept up in a powerful bear hug from his older twin, nearly knocking the wind out of him.
“Idiota!” Mario's shout echoed through the air, a force that could have made Luigi jump if he weren't being squeezed like a massive stuffed animal. “Holding on to something like that isn’t healthy! It would have eaten away at you from the inside! We all care too much to see you in agony! Why would you choose to carry such a heavy load?!”
"I-I never wished to come between you and the princess," Luigi eked out despite being crushed. “I already ruined what should’ve been one of the happiest moments of your lives.”
“No, Luigi, you haven’t ruined a thing,” Peach’s soothing voice drifted to him as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder as Mario finally released him. “We’re both surprised by what we’ve learned, but I’m certain Mario feels the same way. We could never be angry with you for this. You didn’t need to keep it a secret.”
Stunned, Luigi blinked rapidly. "W-Wait, you guys really aren’t angry with me?" he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief. Mario and Peach exchanged glances and shook their heads together, making Luigi chuckle in astonishment. "I thought for sure you’d be furious and want nothing to do with me for confessing my feelings."
Mario chuckled as he playfully slapped Luigi’s back. “Luigi, you’ve been reading way too many Young Adult novels! Sometimes, our hearts have minds of their own.”
“Mario, do you realize how cheesy that sounds?” Luigi cocked an eyebrow. “Maybe I’m not the one who’s had my nose stuck in those books.”
Laughter bubbled among the trio, filling the air with warmth, until Mario's sudden frown cast a shadow. “How did this slip past me?”
Luigi stared at Mario with his brow furrowed in bewilderment. "What are you talking about, Mario?" he asked, trying to make sense of it all.
Mario's expression turned somber as he pondered, "how could I not have recognized your feelings?" He shook his head slowly. "We’re twins; we should be great at sensing each other’s emotions. Our connection was once so strong, even when we were miles apart. Yet, I failed to notice your feelings for the princess."
Luigi chuckled softly, his hand resting reassuringly on Mario’s shoulder. “You know, love tends to make us forget a few things along the way.”
“Come on, that’s not funny!” Mario laughed while shaking his head. “But I really am sorry for not realizing how you felt, Luigi. I’ll do better from now on.”
“Mario, there's truly no need for that. We have our own lives to live, but you can be assured that our bond is still very real. It doesn’t have to be in action all the time.”
“Thanks, Luigi. I really needed to hear that.”
With a firm grip, Luigi pulled Mario into a heartfelt hug, which Mario joyfully returned. He then glanced at Peach, who observed the scene with a serene smile.
“Your Highness,” Luigi began, his demeanor becoming more solemn, “I think I already know your answer, but I need to hear it from you. You know how I feel about you now. Do you feel the same? Have you ever thought of me in such a manner?”
The light in Peach's smile dimmed, and her shoulders drooped heavily. Her body language told Luigi everything he needed to know. “Luigi, I appreciate the honesty you showed me earlier, and I want to reciprocate that. It’s only fair.
“Unfortunately, I have to tell you that I don’t share your romantic feelings. But please know that I hold you in high regard. You are one of the most incredible people I’ve ever known, and you’ve brought so much happiness into my life. My heart, however, belongs to Mario, and my feelings for him have blossomed through our time together. If the situation were reversed, perhaps I could have felt the same way about you. In short, I care for you deeply, but it’s in the way one cares for a beloved friend.”
Luigi exhaled deeply as a smile that mingled sadness and relief blossomed on his face. Just moments ago, this news could have been the final blow to his spirit, but now it felt like a tremendous weight had been lifted from him. Tears fell anew, following the trails of his past sorrow, yet they were tears of healing rather than hopelessness. “Thanks, your Highness.”
Peach stepped closer, playfully grasping his shoulders while a mischievous grin danced on her lips. “Luigi, how many times do I have to remind you that you can drop the formalities with me? What happened to calling me Princess?” Her expression shifted to one of sincerity. “You’re a wonderful person, and someday, you’ll make someone very happy.” She planted a soft kiss on his cheek and enveloped him in a warm hug.
Peach pulled away from the embrace as Mario cleared his throat with a playful cough. A mischievous smile danced beneath his mustache. “Hey, what’s the big deal, Luigi? Trying to steal my girlfriend?!”
Luigi's cheeks flushed a deep crimson, even though he was fully aware that Mario was just having a bit of fun at his expense. Meanwhile, Peach's face radiated with a mischievous smile as she glided over to Mario.
"Oh my, is Super Mario feeling a bit jealous of all the attention on his brother? I think I need to change that right now!" She leaned down and pressed a big, affectionate kiss on Mario’s cheek, stretching the skin and leaving a vivid pink imprint behind.
"Aw, Princess! I was just joking around!" Mario feigned a pout, his face flushing to match the color of his beloved cap.
"I know!" Peach laughed, wrapping her arm around him as they strolled over to Luigi. "Come on, Luigi, join us!"
Before he could utter a word, Peach had already encircled Luigi’s waist with her other arm, tugging both him and Mario to the balcony’s edge. They all marveled at the magnificent sight of the Mushroom Kingdom spread out before them.
“Uh, Princess,” Luigi broke the silence, “do you think the guests are starting to wonder where we are?”
Peach’s face lit up with a cheeky grin as she faced Luigi. “A little more time won’t hurt them. Right now, I want to relish the moments with two of the most important people in my life.”
Luigi let out a soft laugh as he gazed out at the horizon, mulling over the recent event involving the three of them. What he had feared would unleash a storm as fierce as a category five hurricane had instead revealed itself to be a mere passing sun shower. Had he known that confronting his internal struggle would be this uncomplicated, he would have confessed his feelings long ago. Though his heart still bore the scars of past wounds, he felt a reassuring sense of optimism that it would mend soon. He had weathered a few heartbreaks in his time, and while Princess Peach was a truly remarkable woman who would be difficult to move on from, he was confident this experience would be no exception. For now, however, he would enjoy the delightful company of his two favorite companions.

Chemistry (tentative title/ draft 3)
Chemistry (tentative title/ draft 3)
By: C. Mechayoshi
Created 5/30/17 (first draft)
6/4/17 (second)
7/7/17 (Third)
Summary: Not all Mario characters get along. When they get mixed up anyway, shenanigans occur. (Based on Mario Super Sluggers but is commentary on silly roster choices in a lot of Mario games)
Author note: Yes, this is silly. Enjoy.
Chapter1: Chemistry Crisis
Scenario 1: Shaggy Dog
Toadette marched down the street gang style with her good chemistry pals, Peach, Birdo, Toad, Toadsworth, Noki, and Pink Mii. It was a warm sunny day in the Mushroom Kingdom and they were heading down to the park where they would continue to own Toad Town with their tight friendship and good chemistry, or at least while playing baseball..
Peach whipped back her blond ponytail. She was wearing her signature sports attire consisting of a pink tank top and shorts. “It's great to have such amazing friends, isn't it?” she asked no one in particular.
Birdo straightened her bow. She had no special outfit, but she proudly wore a diamond ring (rumored to be a gift from Yoshi) that glistened in the sunlight. “Of course darling! We have the best fun!” However when the two girl’s eyes met, a spark ignited between the two.
“I can't stand you, Birdo!” Peach spat as she stopped walking and crossed her arms. “I’ve hated you since SMB2! You are always spitting eggs ever where you go! How unladylike!! Also as if-”
“Go there darling, and I will slap you to the dream world again,” Birdo warned, glaring back.
Toadette stepped in between them and held her arms out. “Guys! I mean, girls! Stop!!!”
Toadsworth laughed. “Indeed, young ladies! Cannot our mutual love for Toadette bridge the gap between us all?”
Toadette gave the elder a weird look. “Umm...don't say it like that... Let's keep it at having good results on the baseball field.”
“This is about baseball?” Jelectro Bond, the Noki asked. “I feel I am in the wrong story.”
BEEP BEEP. A car loudly honked at the septet. They were in the middle of the street after all. Everyone immediate got on the sidewalk but Birdo and Peach avoided eye contact, Toadsworth stood too close to Toadette, Jelectro was still confused, and Toad and Pink Mii continued to stand around.
Toad grabbed a handful of the popcorn he had. “Anyway, of course you belong. All Nokis love Toadette, and we're the Toadette Typhoons, right? So are we gonna have a cat fight or not?” Toad asked, looking at Peach and Birdo ammusingly.
“No!” Toadette yelled. “Let's just hang out at the park.”
“Yay, the park!” The pink Mii piped up. She was a really basic looking Mii. One might say she was a 'default' one, but she still got along with Toadette and that was all that mattered.
Just around the block, Toadette's arch-enemy Bowser, Goomba, and Paragoomba showed up before the gang could start moving again.
“Well look at these losers!” Bowser teased. He and the goombas stood in a line, taking up the whole sidewalk.
Toadette turned red in frustation. “We just wanna go to the park! Oh-” She abruptly leaned over, wrapping her arms around her self. A second later, the same happened to Peach, Toad and Toadsworth and they lay with Toadette on the hot concrete sidewalk.
“We... all hate Bowser, Goomba, and Paragoomba for…. obvious reasons.... Our fielding stats will now suffer...” Toadette gasped.
Bond scratched his head. “Excusez moi?”
Birdo shook her head in pittyance. “Bad chemistry, dear.”
“That's right pipsqueak!....Wait, I don't feel so good...” The extra large goomba stumbled forwards. “I just HATE Toad and Toadsworth! They think they're better than me!”
Bond lifted his sunglasses. “Richard? Is that you? I feel we should know each other.”
“I don't know you from Adam, shortie!” Dick stammered.
Bowser stepped past Dick. “That was weird.. So anyway, only the greatest king ever could reduce you all to-”
“Bad chemistry is mutual, honey.” Birdo said offhandedly.
Bowser then fell out to the ground in a thud, having bad chemistry with Peach, Toad, Toadette, and Toadsworth. “How is this happening?! Besides I secretly love Peach!!!”
Peach opened one eye despite her weakening. “Bowser, you fool, that's no secret!”
Now only Birdo, Bond, Pink Mii, and Paragoomba were left standing.
“What's it gonna be?” the Paragoomba teased. “I got no bad chemistry, what about you all?”
“I am still not sure why I'm here, but I have an odd dislike for Bowser Junior and Petey,” Bond replied. “Junior put a dent on my one million coin Aston Mushroom with his bike and never paid for it. Petey literally ate me on a spy mission, but I would rather not speak about that.”
The paragoomba thought for a moment. “Who knows where that Junior brat is, and Petey Piranha got departed somewhere when WiiU came out. I guess you're safe, spy dude. What about you?” He looked to Birdo.
She put her hand on her hip. “I cannot stand Peach, Tiny Kong, Wario, Blooper, and Waluigi.”
“Peach? Why did she not make you physically ill before?” Bond asked.
“I guess our mutual friendship with Toadette canceled it out the worse effects. And besides, Peach now is on the floor knocked out, like she should be!”
The paragoomba smirked. “Oooh! You two got some bad history, don't ya?”
Birdo huffed. “She's only the stupidest blonde ever! And Tiny? Such a tease. Wario, Blooper and Waluigi are just gross!”
“I do not think I understand how these chemistry rules work, but now what?” Bond asked.
“Leave?” Birdo asked. Birdo, Bond and paragoomba dropped what ever confrontation there was supposed to be, and left everyone else on the floor. Because their chemistry was bad with each other, no one was ever able to move again, thus making this a pointless (shaggy dog) story.
Scenario 2: Buddy Jump?
Mario and Bowser were in the center and left outfield together. Why a player would do that is unknown, but anyway King Boo was at the bat and predictably got a great hit, right between the hero and villain.
“Out of the way, plumber! It's mine!” Bowser growled. His heavy feet moved rapidly in an attempt to follow the ball's shadow.
“It's too high, we'll have to buddy jump!” Mario called, having reached the wall before Bowser.
The ball was still in the air, and about to leave the field when Bowser caught up.
“It's now or never! Trust me!” Mario urged.
Bowser shot him a look. “Well okay, come here!”
They stood by each other to activate the move, but something went wrong. Mario picked up Bowser instead of Bowser picking up Mario. The unnatural power of bad chemistry made Mario fling Bowser over the wall into the audience. Popcorn and hot dogs went everywhere as Bowser’s massive body belly flopped on the stadium seats and audience. Meanwhile, the ball continued souring and went into space resulting in a grand slam with King K. Rool, Funky Kong, and Wario already on bases. King Boo's team won 4-0.
Mario and Bowser, were standing around in the baseball center lobby, because they weren’t allowed in the party room.
Bowser punched Mario’s shoulder.
“Oww!”
“That’s for making me lose, plumber.” Bowser growled.
Mario distanced himself from the Koopa King. “I think we did the best we could considering we were the only players on our team!”
Just then, Toadsworth entered through the glass doors to the lobby. He had a noticeable tan, as if he’d been lying in the sun on a sidewalk, but that’s oddly specific imagery, isn’t it? His shuffle became a brisk walk the moment he noticed Mario and Bowser.
“Tally ho, Master Mario! The Koopa King is right behind you!” Toadsworth called as he approached.
“I know,” Mario muttered, holding his sore shoulder.
“What did that old man just call me?” Bowser asked.
Toadsworth slowed down to his usual slow pace with a relieved look. “I apologize. It escaped me that you two were the losing team earlier. I had heard that you were partnered with someone unexpected but I assumed that to be anyone but that tyrant!”
“Watch it, old man!” Bowser warned, smoke threatening to pour from his nostrils.
“Well I am proud to announce this!”
“What?” Mario asked.
Toadsworth handed Mario a paper. He looked over it while Bowser stomp his foot impatiently and Toadsworth stood in front of him.
It read that Mario and Bowser's team would be given the win because King Boo was discovered to have been using illegal Boo vitamins, King K. Rool had threatened a coach, Wario had bribed someone, and everyone realized that it was ridiculous that Funky was using a surfboard as a bat.
“We won?!”
Bowser snatched the paper from Mario’s hand. “What? Hey, we did!”
“Congradulations-” Toadsworth’s praise was cut off Bowser’s flame breath.
Mario and Bowser were standing outside the baseball pavilion with ribbons around their necks. Mario looked at his appreciatively. “We might not work well together, but I guess it's good we didn't cheat!”
Bowser responded by punching him in the shoulder again as a spaceship came out of nowhere.
Rosalina came out of the spaceship disgruntledly holding a ball. “Who sent this ball into space? It broke a window in my bedroom and made all of the Lumas cry!”
“Run!” Mario said.
Author note: Jelectro Bond is the telekinetic spy from Mario and Bowser: Frenemies Forever, in case no one gets it. Richard/Dick the goomba is too.
A tale begins with a quote from “SuperLuigi13” of Gamefaqs.
“Bowser Jr.: Dad, what's the roster say about the baby count"
Bowser: IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....I mean 5...”
(Will be relevant later)
