...something I think about sometimes is how some readers literally don't understand that a particular piece of worldbuilding is, sometimes, a criticism of something in the real world and that's why it kind of sucks

Like as an example the old Jedi Order sucks on purpose it's not a writing flaw

But half the Star Wars fans I've talked to irl do not in fact understand that this was on purpose "because the Jedi are supposed to be cooler than that and that's why the prequels suck"

I'm talking about folks I've met at conventions who went to the trouble of dressing up as face characters

And it's like

the old Jedi Order is literally a criticism of how real world religions can get too institutionalized but okismoki

me in my Nash Durango cosplay and my friend Isabella in his Taborr Val Dorn cosplay!!! we walked around Los Angeles Comic Con with Young Jedi Adventures stickers to hand out to kids and anyone else who recognized us, and we almost ran out!!! one of my favorite con experiences!!

in the future i want to find more accurate boots and make the wig better, and i really wanna make the RJ-83 on my back able to spin around and beep!
