This is OI' Pegleg Piet. Ol' Pegleg Piet has the Maimed trait*, thanks to an archaeological dig gone wrong, which reduces his lifespan by 40 years.
That was something like a century ago, minimum. Ol' Pegleg Piet has outlived everybody else from his generation. He's on track to outlive everybody from the next generation, with the singular exception of Big Esmeralda, who was granted godlike power and immortality from the Shroud. Science cannot explain Ol' Pegleg Piet. Shroud entities also cannot explain Ol' Pegleg Piet. Whenever Death comes for Ol' Pegleg Piet he simply says Not Today and that is that.
*Not actually related to him being Pegleg Piet. Pegleg is a very traditional title among the Saloran people, and need not be related to pegs, legs, or any combination thereof. He absolutely took the chance to get a peg leg for real though.

A dream land - DP X DC Prompt
Okay, so I was thinking about that episode "Perchance to dream" where Bruce is trapped in a dream world and this, even thought really different, came to my mind.
Danny is king or prince of the infinite realms. He's been working on personalizing/decorating his castle in the infinite realms. When he feels someone walking just outside the castles walls. The thing is, that someone isn't a denizen, they aren't in a corporeal body, but he can feel that they are very much alive and feel distinctly human. He approaches the person to ask why and how they are in the infinite realms, but they fade away before he gets the opportunity.
Clockwork, who was with him at the moment, tells him that the visitor from the living, was just the soul projection of someone that was sleeping, and then refuses to elaborate further. Since it's something that was to do with sleeping, Danny decides to go and ask Nocturn, it seemed like a reasonable assumption that he was the one at fault for the soul projection.
Contrary to what he thought, Nocturn informed Danny that Sleeping soul projection was a natural phenomenon that he didn't control. The land of dreams, ("My domain" - Nocturn reminds him), was in the infinite realm after all, and those who have been close to death sometimes slipped they're whole soul instead of just their mind, and ended up all over the infinite realms.
It isn't too different from a lucid dream for them, the body gets all the benefit of the sleep, the mind feels rested if they had a good time in the realms. Except, if they hurt their soul too bad during their little trip, it would have real consequences. Loosing memories, abilities regression, migraine, pain that reflects the soul damage, all either temporary until the soul healed, or permanent and deteriorating, and in some occasions finishing in the persons death. In the latter, the soul is usually too damaged and cease it's existence, or have enough ectoplasm and emotion to form into ghosts with crack cores whose existence is instantly in danger.
Danny clearly didn't like the image that was painted to him, so he asked Nocturn if there was really nothing that he could do. It took a lot of talking and convincing, but eventually Nocturn admitted he could be able to direct the soul projecting to appear on a certain place, but he refused to babysit anyone. Which was enough for Danny, all he needed to do was make another expansion in his castle.
He decided to make a garden to receive their soul projecting guests. The garden was enormous, with all kinds of spaced within it. Playgrounds, picnic spaces, soft benches, tables with ghost and space teamed board games, fountains, and of course, the beautiful flowers that surrounded and decorated the place. Once he got ghosts with gardening, protection and caring obsessions on the place to look out for the souls, he was ready to receive them. It took him by surprise the amount of people that came, the garden was never crowded, but was never empty either, and souls of all ages and places were visiting at all times.
He kept expanding the garden as he heard of new things their guests wished for. He enjoyed spending time in the middle of the garden where souls passed by but rarely appeared, it was calm, but not completly quite with the background noice of the soul enjoying their dreams, and he could do the more mundane king/prince work. Until, he starts getting a regular visitor on his little space of the garden.
Choose the DC character you prefer, my idea is for people who hasn't died in the past but has been in the doors of death (so died and came back would be disqualified but you do as you prefer), but I'm going with Tim.
The soul of a boy around his age appears just in front of him, as usual when he greets new arriving soul, he welcomes him with a gentle smile and tells him he is free to explore the garden. A ghost taker is assign to him. The soul, as usual, seems confused and like he wished to asks questions, but seems content to ask them to his tour guide, and Danny continues with his own duties.
But then, the same soul continues to appear in the same place every two or three days, they exchange greetings and every time talk for a bit longer before the boy leaves to explore once more. It's rear to have multiple visits from one soul, even more so for said soul to appear in the same place every time. By the four time, Danny decides to take a break on his royal duties and accompany his new friend.
~ They get close, and have cute scenes, Tim asks a lot of questions and Danny answers and not-answers a lot of questions ~
One day, Tim shows up as usual, but he is in full Red Robin costume, and well, Danny wasn't expecting an identity reveal.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
On the Bats side:
There's an attack of some villain that's able to put Red Robin (or character of your choice) on a sleeping beauty type of sleep while carrying a serious injury, were he stays sleep until teammates or backup gets him out of it. The event affects his soul, making him disconnect partially from the land of dreams and making his soul sleep project almost every time he sleeps.
Tim starts sleeping more often. It's worrying at first, Bruce being paranoid does every test in the book, despite Tim saying he's just finding sleep easier now. But, he was just affected by sleeping magic and suddenly his sleeping easier? Seems like a side effect, and that makes it worrying.
Tim's health in general improve, just like he's concentration and productivity. Who would have thought that working rested actually was more productive than working on less than three hours of sleep and missing obvious details and clues due to how tired you are.
With everything not only being okay, but better than before, paranoia about Tim's new sleeping schedule soon dies, and instead is replaced with teasing about how he used to refuse to rest kicking and screaming, and now he may sleep more than any of them.
On Tim's side, he's loving being able to soul project so often. He knew from the start he was in a different dimension, and he just wanted to know the hows, whys, and everything else. So far, he seems to do it at least once every three days, and he's even gone two times in a row a couple of times.
The garden had a lot of things to do, but Tim doesn't care about that, he's more interested in all the information he's getting. The first 3 times he was given different ghost nanny's, who were more focus on entertaining him and didn't really answer direct question. But then king/prince Phantom decided to accompany him personally, and everything went smoother. He was going back to get to know more about this new world, and maybe to know more about the cute prince/king too. He might also have gotten some better looking pajamas.
Now, he has a mission that takes more than a couple days with some people in his team that hasn't yet sen his face. He didn't realize how difficult it would be to do all nighters after getting used to a sleep schedule. He would usually try to go as long as possible without sleeping, but he decides that he should take advantage of the safety of where they're staying and sleep a bit too. He ended up soul projecting in full Red Robin costume. He tried to play it cool, maybe Phantom wouldn't know it was him.
"Red Robin, even if you didn't appear on the same spot as always, I can feel your soul. I know who you are."

Silly Puppies. Svt reacts (97 line).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff, crack (kinda).
Pairing: 97'z x reader.
Summary: You're on you aparment spending time with your puppy as they hear you calling him "your soulmate". How will they react to this statement?
Divider by @cafekitsune

Minghao. He doesn't say a single word and his face is out of any expression. Obviously, you catch his attention, but not in the way you’d like; he knows you very well and understands that you just want to provoke him, and that's a game that two can play.
“Hao,” you hummed to catch his attention as he raised his gaze from his cell phone to you. “Don’t you think our puppy is adorable?”
His response was nothing more than a hint of a smile, then he turned back to his phone screen.
“See? He doesn’t pay attention to me,” you whisper while hugging your pet, who responds by wagging his tail joyfully. “That’s why you are my soulmate.”
Hao shifted his eyes from the phone to look at you while you gaze at him with wide, contemplative eyes; his face remains calm. You’re eager for his reaction, but he knows your intentions and what’s hiding behind those innocent eyes, so he’s not going to be fooled so easily.
“Excuse me, were you talking to me?” he asked, placing a hand on his chest to emphasize the question.
“No, I’m talking to him.”
He clicked his tongue and got up from his seat. “Then you can stay here with your soulmate” he gestured with his hand to shamelessly point at the puppy in your arms, “there’s surely enough space for you both on the couch.”
“Hao, wait!” you stretched your hand to reach him, but he had already turned his back to walk away.
“Sorry, I’m going to MY room to sleep in MY bed.”
Tumblr media
Dokyeom. Breaking his heart should be a crime, and you’re the one to blame. How could you do that? Now you must face the consequences.
“Have I told you that you are my soulmate?” you patted your pet's head while he remained seated. “Yes, you are.”
“y/n, the bathroom is all yours,” Dokyeom entered the living room with a towel on his shoulders and wearing pajamas.
“I’m going, I was just telling to my soulmate how beautiful he is.”
“But,” he chuckled softly, “you haven’t said anything to me.”
“It’s not with you,” you leaned down to give the puppy a kiss on the head. “It’s with him.”
“Then I… I won’t…”
“Come on, don’t take it too serious…” You stood up to give him a hug, but Dokyeom rejected you by turning his back to walk away. “No, Seokmin!”
You followed him to the room’s entrance, calling him with desperate voice, and you stopped dead in your tracks when you saw his downcast face, his dark eyes like a sad puppy. You swallowed hard; it was the first time you saw Seokmin that sad.
“I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you.” You approached to give him a hug, gently stroking his back, and he reciprocated the gesture.
“Well…” His voice sounded a bit more cheerful. “… If you give me a kiss, I might forgive you.”
“Lee Seok Min!” You quickly pulled away only to find him laughing in your face. “Why are you playing with me like this!?”
“You started it! Don’t run away, don’t get mad at me!”
Tumblr media
Mingyu. He is not someone who gets upset with you, but bringing him down from that position, from HIS position, is something very personal, no matter who it is, and he will not shut up about it…
“Gyu,” you said as you entered the kitchen. Mingyu turned his gaze from the stove to you, a tender smile forming on his lips when he saw you with your pet in arms. “Can I come in?”
“Go ahead,” he returned to what he was doing; whatever he was cooking smelled very good and had him quite busy. “Don’t worry, I’m all ears.”
“Did you buy food for him?” You tilted your head, pointing at the puppy. “My soulmate can’t go hungry.”
Those words fell heavily on Mingyu’s ears, who slowly turned his head toward you, his eyebrows raised in surprise, but not in a good way.
“Did you just say… that…?”
“That my soulmate can’t go hungry,” you repeated, bringing the puppy closer to your face, trying to make a cute expression.
Mingyu turned off the stove and left everything he was doing as if an emergency had occurred.
“Take that back,” he said in a half-serious, half-joking tone while pointing his finger at you. “Take it back right now.”
“Come on, I was joking.” You bent down to let your pet stay on the floor. “Are you really going to get angry…”
“That title is mine, and mine only.” There was a rather strange silence, which ended when you burst out laughing loudly, and he continued. “Hey, don’t laugh at me!”
“I'm sorry,” you wiped the corners of your eyes, filled with tears. “It’s just… it’s just a puppy, don’t get jealous!”
“Jealous?” Mingyu wrapped you in his arms and started kissing your cheeks repeatedly. You tried to break free, but the more you struggled, the harder it was to escape. “You are mine, and I’m not sharing!”
“Alright, you win!” you exclaimed between laughs. “Just let me go, Mingyu!”

You didn't know what you'd expected after finally getting what you wanted. Sure, you weren't going to date your professor. Yet, you had expected Reid to at least acknowledge what had happened between the two of you. Maybe tell you to keep it to yourself, bribe you to not tell a soul.
Nothing. Not a peep.
It didn't help he was only on campus sporadically. You tended to forget teaching was only his temporary side gig. He had to go back to catching bad guys. So much for your eye candy.
You couldn't let yourself dwell on Dr. Spencer Reid. It was a one-time thing, and he probably regretted it. He'd let his desires get the best of him.
You sighed as you applied some chapstick, checking your hair in the mirror before turning to put on your coat. It was just drinks with friends, but you were in no mood to be social. You hadn't told them about your stint with Spencer and weren't planning on telling them anytime soon. They just knew you were hung up on someone and would likely try to set you up to help you get over it.
It wasn't fair you were even hung up about it. You didn't have feelings for him. He was just so intriguing. It was hard to see him go. You sighed and locked the door behind you, greeting your friends and getting in the car towards O'Keeffe's.
Loud music, conversation and laughter met your ears as you entered the bar. You threw a quick glance around the crowded room, spotting an open spot at the bar. You got the attention of your friends, pointing to the free space.
Spencer chuckled at one of Penelope's jokes, but his smile quickly dropped as he saw you walk into the team's favourite bar. You obviously hadn't spotted him, engrossed in a conversation with a girl he'd previously seen in his class. He sighed, sipping his drink and trying to pull his attention away from you.
"What is it, Spence?" JJ inquired. He shook his head in dismissal.
"It's nothing, just a couple of students from my class," Spencer explained, letting his eyes wander over your body just this once.
"That doesn't look like nothing, boy wonder," Emily raised an eyebrow, following his gaze.
"Just some unfinished business, is all. Nothing interesting."
Nothing interesting. Spencer scoffed to himself. Even he didn't believe it. He was glad his break from the BAU was over, not having to force himself to ignore your inquiries any longer. He'd been reckless, and now he'd have to live with the consequences. The consequences haunted his mind every time he closed his eyes.
Please, Spencer. Please.
Your desperate words echoed around his head. He should've never given in.
"Do tell more, my inconspicuous sage," Penelope leaned her head on her crossed fingers, a big grin on her face.
"There's nothing to tell, Garcia. They're my students," Spencer shrugged. He had a superb poker face, but nothing could be hidden from his team.
JJ narrowed her eyes at him, trying to figure it out. Emily was way ahead of her, letting out a pleasantly surprised scoff. "You animal! You slept with one of them!"
"Will you keep it down?!" Spencer whisper-yelled. Realizing he hadn't denied it, he looked at the glass in his hands, refusing to meet the girls' eyes.
"I see you, Casanova. Wouldn't have pegged you the type," Penelope laughed. Spencer shook his head.
"Because I'm not! It was a mistake," it was more to convince himself than the others.
"So, which one is it?" JJ questioned, wanting to discuss his type with the girls.
Spencer refused to look in the direction of the bar, not wanting to give anything away. "Can we please just change the subject?"
"No can do, Spence. Now, is it the tall, leggy blonde? Oh! Is it the one talking to the newbie?" That caught Spencer's attention.
"What?" His head snapped up, turning to where you were leaning against the bar, Luke Alvez whispering in your ear. Spencer's grip on his glass tightened as he observed your pleasant smile. He squinted his eyes, trying to make out what Alvez possibly could've said to paint that smile on your face. The smile he'd wrongly presumed was reserved for him.
"Oh, that's the one, alright." Emily laughed. Spencer snapped out of his jealous tunnel vision, trying to appear unaffected by the situation. Damn you, Alvez. He was supposed to go and get drinks, not flirt with girls barely over the legal drinking age. He crossed his arms and tried to tune in on the girls' conversation.
"Look at him, definitely jealous. Crossed arms? Refusing to look in their direction? Chewing the inside of his mouth? Classic signs of jealousy." JJ spoke, gesturing to Spencer's body. He really regretted agreeing to go out.
He watched you throw back the last of your drink, laughing at a story Luke told.
"Do you have any pictures?" You asked. Luke had been telling you all about his Belgian Shepherd, Roxy. You couldn't even remember how the topic came up in the last ten minutes you'd been speaking with him.
Luke was classically handsome. Toned, too. You admired his features, but condemned yourself for comparing them to a certain professor's. You'd approached him as he waited for his drinks, asking if you'd previously met. He looked familiar. You just couldn't put your finger on why. Surely you would've remembered meeting someone as handsome as him.
The mystery man had told you that, no, you hadn't met, but introduced himself as Luke Alvez.
Luke showed you a few pictures of his adorable dog before continuing the conversation. "So, what do you do?"
"I'm a full-time student, currently. You?" You got comfy leaning against the bar, enjoying his company.
"I actually work for the FBI," Luke informed you. You nearly choked on your drink, instantly realizing why he'd been familiar. You'd done your research.
"You wouldn't happen to be a part of the BAU?" You winced.
"Yes, actually! How'd you kn-"
Luke was cut off by a harsh grip on your upper arm. Your head turned, only to find the hand to be attached to the source of your dread.
"Spencer? What are you doing here?" You tried to be casual, but you were panicking. Was he here with Luke? Or was it just a coincidence?
"I could ask you the same thing," Spencer dejected.
"I was actually talking to my new friend Luke here," you tugged your arm out of Spencer's grip, a challenging expression on your face. Luke looked uncomfortable, clearly already having figured out how you'd learned he was a part of the BAU.
"Why do you have to be so fucking diff- No, you know what? I'm not doing this. Let's go," Spencer motioned towards the door of the bar. You furrowed your brows in confusion. First, he wanted nothing to do with you, and now he expected you to just leave with him without question?
"What? No, I'm not leaving. I'm here with friends. Besides, why would I leave with you, Professor?" You questioned. Luke's expression changed to one of surprise. That definitely wouldn't have been his first guess, seeing as you'd called him 'Spencer.'
"Is that Professor Reid? Oh my god, hi!" One of your friends finally noticed what was going down. Spencer gave her a tight-lipped smile and half-hearted raise of his hand. Their attention quickly returned to their previous conversation.
Spencer looked agitated, taking a deep breath to recollect his bearings. "Please, just come with me," he pleaded quietly. You crossed your arms and huffed.
"You can't go making demands, Spencer! Not when you've been ignoring me!" You tried to keep your volume down, trying to not give away what had obviously happened.
Luke took that as his queue to leave, but not before earning a nasty look from Spencer. He raised his hands in defence. When Luke returned to the table, he was met with excited whispers from the girls.
"I've never seen him like this," JJ exclaimed. They were all observing as you were arguing with Spencer.
"I take it you know what's going on there?" Luke sat down, putting his beer next to Spencer's unfinished glass.
"Oh, newbie. It's a true scandal. Our resident genius was very jealous of your new lady friend," Penelope clapped her hands together in excitement.
"But she's his student, right?"
"Exactly why it's such a scandal!"
The team observed your body language as well as Spencer's. They noticed your defensive stance, a change from the relaxed one you'd had when talking to Luke. Spencer, too, exuded a different energy. He was clearly in charge of the conversation, domineering stance looking like his second nature. It was clear there was a side to him they hadn't seen, intentionally hidden away.
"Oh Ehm Gee, look!" Penelope clamoured.
Spencer had had enough, dragging you towards the bathroom instead of the door like he'd initially intended. He'd tried to hold back, but you made it so damn difficult.
"Where are we going? Let me go," you struggled in his grip, nearly tripping over your feet as he dragged you to the bathroom.
"You clearly need to be taught a lesson in respect," Spencer spat, pushing you into the women's bathroom and closing the door.
"Stop it, Spencer. You're acting childish," you scoffed, trying to push past him out the door.
"I'm being childish? What was that back there, then? Flirting with my coworker in front of me? That's a new low," Spencer mocked. His body language was hostile and distant. He was feeling worse about it than he was letting on. He clearly had unresolved feelings about your situation, just like you did.
"I didn't even know he was your coworker! Or that you were here! And you've ignored me every time I've tried to talk to you! You don't get to stake some sort of claim over me!" You defended. Did he really expect you to just wait around for him?
"I'm not staking a claim! I just assumed we had an understanding!" Spencer's voice was rising with every sentence he spoke. The small bathroom seemed to only get smaller as he towered over you.
"What understanding, Spencer? We only fucked once," you sneered, rolling your eyes.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Spencer's tone shifted, simmering anger underlined with something you couldn't place. You searched his face for emotion but only found his tightened jaw and eyebrows raised in question.
"So what if I did?" You challenged, crossing your arms. He wasn't backing down, staring into your eyes. You felt your resolve crumble little by little.
"Bend over," Spencer demanded, motioning to the sink with his head.
"I'm not bending over some gross bar sink! Especially not for you," you tried pushing past him again, to no avail. His hands found your upper arms, turning you around and pushing you over the sink.
"You'll listen to me if you know what's good for you," Spencer whispered in your ear. The dampened bass thrumming through the closed bathroom door had nothing on your heartbeat.
You awaited his hands against your ass, but they didn't come. You stayed in the position he'd put you in, waiting. Spencer stepped back, and you didn't dare move a muscle.
"Hmm, good girl. See how easy it is to just listen?" He ran a hand over your back, stopping at the hem of your bottoms. You didn't reply, waiting with bated breath.
"Now, do you remember the rules?" Spencer made eye contact through the mirror. You felt yourself nod before correcting the behaviour.
"Yes, Sir," you were quick to stammer the words.
"Good girl..." Spencer trailed off, hooking his fingers into your waistband and pulling everything down to your ankles, leaving you exposed.
He admired your pussy, kicking your legs apart to give him a better view and access. He wasn't wasting any time this time around. He placed his hands on your ass, squatting down to be at face height with your nethers. You jumped and tried to contain your reaction as he licked a stripe between your folds. Your hand slapped over your mouth, begging nobody could hear what was going down.
"Wait, Spencer. Lock the door," you remembered.
"Shut up. Did I give you permission to speak?" Spencer spoke against the warmth between your legs.
"N-no, Sir," you answered. Your eyes darted to the unlocked door again, anxious someone might walk in. It was a public bar, after all. You wanted to question him. What if someone walked in? But you knew better, keeping your lips sealed.
Spencer resumed with his mouth on your cunt, slowly devouring and driving you crazy. Tremors built in your legs as he sped up his advances. The wet sounds of his tongue lapping at your clit reached your ears, sending blood rushing to your cheeks. You clenched your eyes shut and balled your fists, doing your best to withhold your reactions.
"Fuck..." The soft whimper left your mouth as Spencer sucked harshly on your clit. It was almost enough to send you over the edge. Almost. Spencer seemed to know as much, teasing endlessly. You wanted to beg, plead with him to make you cum, but you knew any words from your mouth would urge him to do the opposite.
The doorknob clicked, and you tried to kick Spencer away from you. His grip on your hips was unwavering as he maintained his eager actions.
The door flew open, and an unknown girl shrieked at the sight before her before quickly backing out the door. You'd hidden your face to the best of your ability, but there was no doubt what was going on. The least you could do to spare your dignity was hide your identity.
Your heart beat rapidly in your chest at the intrusion. Even though you hated that you'd gotten caught in such a compromising situation, you couldn't deny it was a little exhilarating to know anybody could walk in at any moment while Spencer had his way with you without a care in the world.
"You liked getting caught, didn't you? That's what little whores like you get off on," Spencer muttered against your pussy. You shook your head, denying his accusation.
Spencer got off the floor, and you met his gaze through the mirror. "No? You didn't like it? Then why'd you get so wet," his words were emphasized by the fingers running through your sensitive folds. You whined at the sensation, biting your lip.
"Fine, have it your way," Spencer sighed, leaning over and finally locking the door. The damage had been done, anyway.
"Get up and turn around," Spencer ordered. You quickly obeyed, spinning to face him. Your ass pressed into the sink as Spencer stepped closer. He observed you for a second, his right hand coming up to cup your cheek in a strangely intimate moment.
He quickly snapped out of it, bringing the hand down to your chin and gripping it tightly. You attempted to beg him to continue without words, but he was taking his sweet time. While his touch was no longer tender, the unexpected kiss he planted on your lips could only be described as delicate. A promise.
His lips quickly moved down your neck, sucking harshly in any open spot he could find. His hand went up to your hair as he put the other on your waist. He tugged strategically, intentionally messing up your put-together appearance. This, combined with the trail of bruises he was leaving on your neck, made one thing clear: He was marking his territory. A fond feeling you wanted to ignore, perhaps to preserve it for later, bloomed in your chest.
Spencer pushed you backwards onto the stone sink. You crossed your fingers it was a sturdy one, knowing what Spencer likely had in mind. He stepped between your opened legs, unbuckling his belt with one hand as the other remained on your thigh, rubbing the skin and driving you crazy.
He reached into his underwear, tugging his rock-hard cock out of its confines. He held it tightly in his fist, stroking it as he kept rubbing his fingers closer and closer to your heat. You would've easily been able to take his teasing if he hadn't left you hanging on the edge with his mouth. The seconds he spent stroking himself lazily as he watched you felt like torturous hours.
Finally, he made contact, tapping the head of his dick against your clit crudely. The sensation made you jerk backwards. He placed his length between your lips, lazily sliding yet never pushing inside. Every time the tip hit your clit with the upwards motion of his hips, a meek noise escaped you.
"What would Luke think if he saw you like this, huh? Think he'd still be all over you if he knew you were such a little slut for me?" He accentuated his words by finally thrusting inside, pulling a moan from your throat.
"Bet you'd like that, huh? Having him walk in here? Have him watch as I ruin your little pussy?" You cried out at his words. You couldn't help but imagine it.
"But you're my good girl, huh?" The slide of his cock against your walls felt phenomenal. You felt yourself tighten at his words. The ridge of his tip got stuck on your entrance, and Spencer chuckled.
"So tight for me. My pussy," he continued pushing inside, ignoring how you squeezed around him.
"Say it," he urged. "Tell me who this pussy belongs to."
"You! Belongs to you, Sir," you whined. You felt your body slowly slip off the sink with every push. You brought your hands to Spencer's shoulders as leverage to keep yourself upright.
"That's right, all mine," Spencer moaned. His voice was raspy. It was the sexiest thing you'd ever had the pleasure of hearing.
"Let me hear you," he coaxed. You took it as permission to finally speak.
"Please, Sir, more," you begged. You no longer had control over your body, throwing your head back and nearly crashing it into the mirror. Your throat was quickly becoming hoarse with the pleas and whines escaping it.
"More what, sweetheart?" The nickname sounded anything but sincere, just like the last time he'd used it in his office.
"Fuck- Spe- Sir, harder, please," you were gradually losing your sanity. Your nails dug into the skin of his neck in desperation.
He fulfilled your request, speeding up the momentum of his hips. You could only hope the music from the bar drowned out the sound of his balls slapping against your cunt with every harsh thrust. The wet squelches coming from where your bodies connected were vulgar.
"Fuck, baby. So good. Such a good girl for me," Spencer babbled as he leaned forward to plant a messy kiss on your lips. You kept him close with the hold on his neck.
You brought your hands up to his delectable locks, tugging harshly when he hit the magic spot inside of you.
"Spencer! Oh my god, please, don't stop," you exclaimed. He continued pounding into you roughly.
"Nobody can fuck you like I can, nobody will make you feel like I do," Spencer groaned. He was right. He'd ruined you for anybody else the second he'd set foot on campus.
"O-oh, shit..." Spencer whimpered. If his rough voice was sexy, then Professor Spencer Reid whimpering in your ear in desperation as he neared his climax was on another level. The filthy whispers and sounds falling from his lips were enough to bring you back to the brink.
"Fuck, Professor," you moaned. It snapped something in Spencer, whose hips stuttered. His pace turned brutal.
"Say that again," he commanded. Who knew his official title would've set him off?
"Please, Professor," you whined. The noises falling from your lips sounded foreign to your ears. Frenzied moans left you as Spencer brought his hand to your clit, rubbing circles in tandem with his thrusts.
"Good girl," Spencer moaned. "Such a good girl for me." You could tell he was about to cum, mirroring your own predicament.
"Fuck... Let them hear, baby. Tell them who's making you cum," Spencer's hips pressed hard against your own.
"Spencer, oh- shit," you were no longer holding back.
"That's right, cum for me."
His words sent you over the edge, vision momentarily going black as your toes curled. You felt your legs shake as Spencer pushed inside one last time, cock pulsing as he shot his cum deep inside. It was concerning how quickly you'd come to love that specific feeling.
He allowed you a second to catch your breath before he pulled out of you, tucking himself back into his pants and buckling his belt. He wasted no time, gathering some toilet paper from one of the stalls and carefully cleaning you up. He threw the paper in the toilet and flushed it, turning his attention back to you.
He bent down, placing a peck on your mound. "All mine."
You scoffed at the action, pushing him away. "You sap."
"Caught me," Spencer smiled softly, helping you off the sink. You pulled your bottoms back up, cringing at the wet feeling of his cum trickling down.
"Spencer, I can't go out there like this," you gestured to your exterior.
"You can and you will, c'mon," he placed a hand on the small of your back, ushering you to the exit. You did your best to rearrange your clothes to look somewhat presentable, but there was only so much you could do with your dishevelled appearance. The messy hair, ruined makeup and blotches splattered over your neck would be enough to give away what had happened.
Your eyes searched the bar for your friends, but they were nowhere to be seen. You grabbed your phone, and with all the notifications, your suspicions were confirmed. They'd left without you.
"Spencer, can you drive me home?" You tried turning to him, but he kept pushing you to the table where his team and Luke were still seated. Luke wolf-whistled at your appearance. You tried to shrink into yourself or to hide behind Spencer, but he wouldn't allow it. This clearly was some kind of dick-measuring contest to him.
Spencer sat down next to Emily, pulling you into his lap. "Knock it off already. They get it," you groaned.
"So, you're taking Spence's class? How's that working out for you?" The blonde next to Luke questioned. Spencer put a drink in front of you. You didn't question its contents, taking a sip before answering.
"Well, I guess we had some disagreements over some of my work, but it seems we've found a way to work that out," you joked. There was no use in being sheepish about it. Spencer had made very sure they understood exactly what your dynamic was.
"So it seems." Luke chuckled. You gave him an apologetic smile. He shrugged it off, raising his glass to clink it against yours.
Spencer's arm around you tightened. He'd 100% gotten his message across, but that didn't mean he liked you talking to Luke, or anybody, for that matter. If there's one thing Spencer learned from prison, it would be that sharing definitely wasn't his forté. Especially not you. No... You were all his.

RIO MASTERLIST
II - I DON'T CARE 'BOUT CONSEQUENCES, I WANT MY LICK BACK
Pairing: Rio (Good Girls) X Reader
Word Count: 2K
Warning: Mature themes and its 🌶 🌶 🌶
Summary: The title says it all.
Previous Chapter
Tumblr media
You step one good in front of the other. You can feel your pulse in your throat. Hear it in your ears. Your palms are hot and anger is what’s fuelling you. You keep walking. A patron swings the door open and you scan the establishment. The venue is different to the previous restaurant, less upscale and easier to disappear into. You’re looking for one person and one person only. Sighing out of frustration you head to the bar, a bartender materializes in front of you in a minute.
“Is Rio here?” You ask.
“Anything to drink?” He asks.
Letting out a long sigh you take a look over the top shelf contemplating it. “Nothing for now, is he in?” You ask liable to blow any minute now and the bartender steps away whispering something to another. You watch closely as they disappear. You feel like breaking dishes, trashing the house and vandalising the car. You wish you could scream.
“He’s upstairs” the bartender says, snapping you from your daydream. Standing, you head up the long staircase. You emerge into an office with a Birds Eye view of the establishment. Rio is sitting in the middle of it behind a wooden desk with money piled high on the corner of it. His calm is in stark contrast to the mania you’re feeling.
“Let me guess, you want to commit a murder” he says breaking the silence with his naturally cool demeanour and that distinct voice.
“Don’t mock me” you warn and he smiles, pouring a glass and setting it in front of you as you take a seat on the couch in the sprawling space. You take a sip only for the liquor to burn your throat due to inexperience. You make a face and the liquor quells your temper a touch. When your eyes reopen Rio’s amusement is clear as day. You spent three hours getting ready for date night the night you met Rio. Your husband's new role at work was demanding and there’d been distance so you were trying to mend fences and reignite a spark. He’d left and for your pride you picked at what was left of your food from the bar. Rio had been forward antagonistic and amusing, but he hadn't lied.
“Don’t be too mad, she’s not sexier than you are” he says sipping from your glass.
“We’ve been married five years,” you confess to the stranger. Anyone else and your life would be blown up forever.
“No kids?” he asks.
“Not yet, kids are a part of the ten year plan” you confess meeting Rio’s eyes. You have nowhere else to go. No one else to talk to. Sometimes secrets are safest with a stranger. He holds out the glass again and you take a shot of the brown liquor feeling the burn.
“Ten year plan, where the fuck do you find a guy like that?” Rio muses at your expense. Sighing deeply you look down into the club's festivities as people start to dance. “How’d you find out? She came to you as a woman?”
“Worse, I saw it on his phone. Text thread full of nudes and videos…” you sigh wishing you could unsee the messages from both ends. It was clear your husband was absolutely feral for another woman and vice versa.
“So you’re here to have him killed or beat up or what?” Rio asks, misreading you.
“No” you respond not wanting someone to get a charge for your husband's poor choices.
“Then how can I help you? It’s getting late.” Rio says draining the glass. Your time is up for his thin patience.
“I told you we can’t hang out because I’m married.” You respond by holding up your left hand. The ring is on your dresser at home.
“So you want me to fuck you as get back. But if we start you’re not gonna want him and I’m not marriage material” Rio says candidly.
“Perfect” you smile liking the sound of that. You’re going to make your husband pay for his recklessness and absence. You imagine the shock when it hits him that Rio has had you. The thrill is your medicine. It’s the only thing that quells the pain of your husband's betrayal.
“Bet” Rio stands holding out a hand. You take a deep breath taking it as you stand. You use another staircase to a back entrance. You hate the city a little less from inside of his G-Wagon. The ride to his place is short. The home is too perfect to be his home.
“Is this where you bring all your girls?” You ask.
“Mhm” he nods. His honesty is a relief.
“Where’s the bedroom?” you ask, trying to get your bearings.
“I don’t do crazy, you don’t show up at my job or here if we do this” Rio sets a boundary misunderstanding how your pride works.
“Understood” you nod. He closes the space between you with a raised brow.
“But do you?” He asks as you crane your neck back to meet his gaze.
“Mhm” you nod.
“Yes or no,” he asks, putting his hands in his pockets. For some reason it makes you want his touch.
“Yes”
“Good, because you're beautiful and I want to do this” he says.
Feeling unsteady you stop yourself from getting lost in his brown eyes. “I don’t do crazy either. You stay out of my relationship outside of when I come to you”.
He smiles, “I dont have the time sweetheart, I have my own shit.”
“C'mere,” Rio says, stepping back. You indulge his cat and mouse game. “Last chance to run, or stay and give him hell” he smiles clearly the devil on your shoulder. Just the thought of James losing it is fuel enough for you to place a palm on Rio’s chest. His smirk is golden and all hesitation ceases. He lowers in a flash, lips crashing into yours. His mouth claims yours pulling back with hard suction like he’s trying to drag the nasty out of you. He’s artful with it and unlike James it’s so hot your brain overrides instinct when his hand holds your neck possessively to get better leverage. You feel your body relax, your mouths sync and the feverishness settles into something slower and more seductive. His tongue crowds your mouth before he goads yours into a dance. You find yourself moaning as he sucks your bottom lip before dragging his teeth gently down your neck. His other hand supports your back while his thumb rubs circled into your hardening nipples. You feel yourself pooling from his touch. Under his grip.
“What a clown, to play with a woman as bad as you” Rio mutters, turning you on even more.
“Tell me how you want me to take care of you baby?” He asks, pouring fire on the blaze he’s set. Your eyes open to him, your breathing levels out and you look to him for guidance. His lips find yours again. This time the kiss is reassuring and gentle, his hold loosens.
“Tell me how you want me to fuck you mama” he whispers against your ear and you sigh. “He’s never asked you that huh?” Rio scoffs a smirk falling on his lips. “Shame some men treat their wives like the Virgin Mary when they just want to be slut out. That’s what you want right? I ain’t ya man you don’t have to pretend to be a good girl with me” he taunts. Disgustingly right once again. You find yourself nodding before it can register. He takes you to the bedroom and dims the lights sensing you’re nervous. His shirt comes off and his toned frame is a refreshing change from James who spends several hours a week in the gym.
“I thought you’d have more tattoos” you reflect as he sits on the edge of the bed.
“You have any?” He asks as you straddle him.
“Not one” you smile feeling a little more comfortable. His hands slide under your shirt ridding you of it. He can’t fathom what the fuck your man’s problem was. Why did he cheat so openly when he clearly had more than he could effectively handle at home. You get lost in another kiss with him that ends with his head between your legs.
He’s so good that he’ll always be the person you’re comparing James to. He holds nothing back fully attentive to your every moan like it’s second nature. Your effects on each other are electric. You are both trying to bring the other to their peak without inhibitions or restrictions. He talks you through your orgasm praising you like you’ve accomplished something monumental. You lay at his side catching your breath needing more. It’s like a switch has been flipped and the dam of your desire has been opened. All the neglect coming to a head. You feel hellish as he tosses the used protection. Reaching over you stroke his manhood. Rio watches in awe not expecting it. His eyes close from the sensation following an already incredible orgasm. He kisses you rolling onto his side, rolling onto yours you hold your leg over him guiding him back into you slowly.
“Fuck” he groans once fully sheathed. It’s a final fuck you to James.
“Come inside me” you plead and Rio nods kissing you deep before obliging completely turned on by the levels of fucked up. He could say no to pussy but not yours. He knew that now in you raw, there’d never be another way and pulling out wouldn’t be an option. Instinct kicks in and his thrusts pick up.
“Don’t stop” you continue getting you right at your spot. His size is perfect, it’s the perfect rhythm, the perfect feeling.
“Like that?” he asks.
“Rio” you moan, finding comfort in your voice.
“Shit” he groans, closing his eyes firmly to remain in control. He could feel the tension building in him from the slickness and suction of your walls.
“Right there” you moan loving every second of it. And you feel him inside you. The warmth of his climax fills you before overflowing. Rio looks to see his work completely spent. Fucking another man’s wife raw was a first for him. Enjoying it as much as he had was a surprise. He doesn’t pull out right away leaning it in as you lean in needy for a kiss. He obliges doing another first when he doesn’t send you home right away.
Rio leans against the counter watching as you take the plan b. It’s another first there’s been no scares during the course of your relationship. Once you finish he places the glass in the dishwasher.
“Want me to drop you home?” He asks as you turn your phone back on. You see thirty missed calls starting at one in the morning all from James.
“I gotta go,” you smile.
“Need a ride?” he asks.
“To the club, sure, that’s where my car is” you tell him and he grabs his keys happily to oblige.
“When’s the last time you let him hit?” Rio asks.
“Two maybe three months” you tell Rio honestly and he laughs.
“Don’t let him, call me if you need some” he says handing you his phone. You give him your number. “Text me if things get crazy. I don’t need anything crazy happening after we just had sex” he says and you laugh.
“Will do” you nod, getting out of his car and into yours.

Chapter 12
In a different world
The universe started with a spark of bright golden light.
Loki Odinson had seen it several times, he had witnessed the birth and death of multiple universes and timelines that were destined to perish in a myriad of colours that would soon be forgotten. He had sat on the throne, and while he was not a King himself, he could recall the faces of all of those poor souls that disappeared into the nothingness, just as he could remember the beauty behind the first spark of life.
However, what he was experimenting right now was nothing like it.
Whatever, or whoever had decided to intervene had messed up with his own spell and everything had exploded into nothingness. A single spark of red, green and golden then, nothingness. Black spaces that disappeared without any traces left behind.
Loki started at the empty space that was Wanda and Y/N’s basement before he sighed. He sat down shaking his head, a headache approaching just as he thought on the oncoming conversation he would need to sustain with the Avengers.
“Fuck.” The word rolled out of his lips in such a natural way, he could do nothing but leaned back against the wall.
What the hell just happened?
What did he do?
What did Wanda and Y/N do to get this reaction?
The silence soon became deafening, Loki located the book Strange had died trying to recover. He frowned while leaning over to pick it up, the spell was done correctly with all the right wording as well as the right drawings on the ground. So, why did it go wrong? His eyes scanned the pages, re-reading the passages over and over until his heart dropped at one particular line, something he had overlooked the very first time he read that passage.
“…this, however, may be counterproductive if there is a magical or multiversal energy interference, the amount of energy converging at one point may created an unexpected result and…”
Loki knew the rest by heart, he knew there could be troubles but…well, how many energies were involved in the spell? He had counted on those signatures coming from Wanda and Y/N, he had even counted on his but…was there anybody else out there? Was there anybody else at the other side of the multiverse?
“Shit.” Loki stood up fixing up his clothes before flickering his hand to open a portal. He needed to face the consequences of his acts, and the first stop would be the Avengers Tower and Steve Roger’s office.
The former Captain America was going to enjoy telling Loki ‘I told you so’, just before hitting him in the face.
With one last glance to the basement, Loki turned around and left the place.
He never worried to test the energy fields around, or to tap into the timelines flickering in front of his eyes. It never occurred to him that, as soon as the explosion happened, a new singular timeline appeared right before his eyes just to blend itself with the other timelines flickering in front of Loki.
No one but the Watcher could see it, The Watcher stood in the sidelines furrowing his brows and waiting.
The world would either collapse in itself, or it would fix the anomalies by itself.
Either way, he was watching history, and the future of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
_________________________________________
Darkness had always been your friend.
You were born in it, and it had been your weapon and your refugee in the hardest of times. That was the main reason you didn’t panic at first, everything around you was filled with the purest form of darkness with a single touch of coldness that sneaked inside your clothes. The hairs on your arms stood up, a shiver went right through your muscles making you groan as you finally experience the pain in your body.
Your mouth opened inhaling deeply filling your lungs with gusts of cold air, your chest contracting itself just before you started coughing. It was then you opened your eyes, and the darkness that you had experienced moments ago was nothing but you woke up from unconsciousness.
The first thing you noticed were different white dots in the sky winking back at you. You tried to grasp a single thought, seeking around your mind for a coherent idea but it was almost impossible to do so when the rest of your body was finally receiving different stimulus in the way of pain and coldness.
“Y/N!” A familiar voice called to your left, you tried to sit up but a single hand placed itself on your shoulder pressing you to the ground.
“Ease there, pal, you were really hurt back there.”
Even if you didn’t get a chance to sit up, your world started spinning around. The voice was so familiar, yet so different to what you were used to; with some reluctance you turned your face to the right and soon you found yourself looking at yourself.
The other woman offered a tentative smile, though the way she was squinting her eyes and the pursed of her lips told you she was just as confused as you were at the moment. Soft footsteps approached you, America Chavez was wearing a single cut on her cheek and a bruised eye, this time around you didn’t let you counterpart to stop you, you sat up to check over the teen kneeling beside you.
“America, are you alright?” Your eyes rolled back for a moment, your knees fell harshly on the ground while you held yourself with a single hand placed on your leg.
“Y/N, please…” America winced lightly glancing at you then at your counterpart. “I think you were the one that suffered the most…”
“It was my fault, actually. So, sorry?”
You blinked a couple of times, shaking your head made the headache worse and the dizziness settled on your lower abdomen. You lifted your face blinking a couple of times before checking America over, the young woman softened her features with her cheeks colouring pink while her lips tried to offer a single smile. You tried to ignore the other Y/N for as long as you could before turning around to settle your eyes on her.
Just like America, she was wearing a single cut on her forehead with her clothes dishevelled but otherwise nothing else. With some reluctance you lifted your eyes looking deep into those eyes that you knew so well.
“This is the weirdest shit I have ever had to live to date.” You finally said shaking your head, “I hope it is the last weird shit ever.”
“Agreed.” Y/N tilted her head furrowing her brows while giving you a quick glance. “Before this happened, I’m afraid I was in your body fighting with someone that got lucky…so…”
“So, that’s why I feel like this?” You cracked smile, your counterpart nodded mirroring the smile on your face. “Okay, got it, so…what the hell is going on?”
America and Y/N glanced at one another then at you, it wasn’t until then that you decided to take a good look at the surrounding area. The place in itself was nothing strange, yet you got a feeling that this was not your universe or even that of your counterpart.
The sky was completely dark filled stars but as you got to observe them above your head you realized there were not your stars. The constellations you had come to know thanks to Natasha and Carol had been changed and were replaced by different forms you did not recognize. With a single frown you lowered your eyes to find yourself in a plain of land filled with dried grass that extended beyond what the eyes could see. It was an empty land, with nothing beyond the darkness of the night without any moon it was hard to actually see something that could give you an idea of your location.
The sound of whistling called your attention, and soon you found yourself being wrapped tightly by two pair of arms. Before you could protest or ask what they were doing, you experience the sharp bite of wind, A cold, merciless breeze that soon turned into a whirlwind that left as suddenly as it had come.
“Wh-what the hell?” Your eyes opened wide, your teeth chattering while America and Y/N leaned back wincing.
“We need to move.”
You furrowed your brows shaking your head, “move where? I can barely see you two, how are we going to see the path or…where the hell are we?”
America sighed standing up, she stretched her hand to you offering a tender smile.
“You haven’t figured it out?”
You stood on weakened legs, your mouth opened ready to protest until you finally realised it. While it was true there was nothing much to see beyond the darkness and the starry night, you could see America and your counterpart just fine. It took you but a few minutes until, you lifted your hand and the shadows followed you giving you a good glance of what was around you.
“We can manipulate shadows, the night in itself is darkness and filled with the main source of our power.” Y/N stated matter-of-factly while standing before you, you nodded curtly feeling foolish for not even thinking about it.
“Are you guys going to tell me what’s going on?”
America grabbed your hand, then turning to Y/N she shrugged also grabbing her hand as well.
“We may as well update her while we continue walking.”
“We saw lights coming from what we think was a village a few kilometres away, were trying to get there until these weird whirlwinds came in and we couldn’t carry you anymore.” Y/N explained shrugging. “We’re guessing once we get to some sort of place filled with civilization we will know more…”
“Why didn’t you try to travel through the shadows?” You asked ready to do so when the warning tone from your own voice stopped you.
“I couldn’t do it without leaving America here, and I have a bad feeling as soon as I tried it…so…” Y/N shrugged looking ahead of her, “I always follow my instincts, they have never failed me.”
The comment sent a sharp pain straight to your heart.
Your instincts had never failed you either.
Nothing else was said after this, the three of you were following the direction America had pointed out but you were just lost not really knowing if this was the right path or just a wild guess. The temperature was dropping even more, soon your teeth were chattering alongside those of America and the other you. You felt a sharp pain through your head, whatever had happened before you woke up had left your body quite bruised and right now all you wanted was to find a bed, an analgesic and something to eat. For a brief moment, an intrusive thought came forward in the form of Wanda, panic rose through your chest and filled your mind but before you could ask anything about her your counterpart spoke.
“I still don’t understand how everything came to be,” she spoke with a tone of voice you were familiar with, you let your eyes wandered around the landscape holding onto every word resounding into the darkness of the night.”
“I remembered when Wanda and I saved America the first time, and then trying to safe her from these creatures chasing her down.” Y/N trailed off with her memories making her falter, with a single shake of her head she continued, “I know I was out for a while, so you can guess how surprised I was to wake up in the arms of someone that wasn’t my wife…”
“Not really.” Your reply was filled with coldness, tension building up in your body, “I have always had the luxury of waking up alone in my bed.”
America winced lifting her head to glance at you, her dark eyes begging you to listen before jumping in whatever discussion you wanted to start.
“Agatha Harkness.” The name reached the inside of your mind with the memory of the file you read on her, not only that, but also the different videos you saw surrounding her story inside of Wanda’s world.
“That was the woman you woke up to every day, Y/N.” America chimed in shyly, she lowered her gaze squeezing your hand tenderly. “She had been dragging Scarlet and Wanda around, draining them of their powers and leaving them defenceless for quite some time, and since…well, since Y/N was under her spell…”
You opened your mouth to speak, you wanted to say something but finding your counterpart’s eyes on you whatever argument you had built inside your mind came crumbling down and soon you were given their side of their story.  Little by little the story started making sense, the building of a different world and the intrusive dreams you were having in the last couple of weeks, the purple and red magic surrounding you on that day as well as the mixed-up realities that ended up with you thrown into another’s body. You had always known that Wanda was special, and powerful, you never imagined just how much.
America had been a part of the plan, of course. Her powers would be very beneficial to someone like Agatha, and your powers would make sure no one would ever find her. Everything was about the most basic reason of all: Power. You pursed your lips disgusted; you were dragged into a confrontation with Wanda because there was a woman chasing after power. You had been running from Wanda for more than ten years, and all it took was this woman to ruin everything.
And now, now you were walking down the darkness of the night with a girl that could travel through different universes and your counterpart, a woman that got the life you had dreamt of a long time ago.
“Life is not fair.” Y/N stated glancing at you out of the corner of her eyes, “but it is what we have, and we must…”
“…deal with it, take what it is being offered and try to be happy with it.” You finished shaking your head.
“Ah, so not everything is lost, I see.” Y/N allowed a single smile to break on her face, you pursed your lips snorting.
“You don’t know the story.”
“But she does, that’s why she told you those very same words, didn’t she?” Your counterpart stopped all of a sudden, you let out a heavy sigh before turning to face her.
America was standing in between the both of you, her brows knitted together with her gaze travelling around the terrain before settling on the both of you.
“Look, I know that you and Wanda had a different experience than mine, I’m glad you did because…” You trailed off holding onto your emotions, “I don’t wish on you the pain I went through…”
For the very first time ever you saw your own face breaking into a broken-hearted smile, with those eyes losing all light and those lips curving into a crooked smile. It was you looking back, and you understood right there and then that you weren’t the only one.
“You forgive her?” You asked with a hint of hope in your voice, you hated how the question left your lips and how your counterpart understood what you meant.
“How could I not if my heart beats for her?” She replied clenching her eyes closed, her hands rested upon your shoulders before you found yourself looking into your eyes. “There is a difference, though, isn’t it?”
“You guys were not together…” You started but she merely tilted her head.
“You know it wouldn’t matter if we were a couple or not, she chose someone else when we have always chosen her.” Y/N squeezed your shoulders lightly. “The difference is that I gave her a chance because I want to do so, you didn’t because…”
“I don’t believe in second chances! If I have done so she would have broken my heart all over again when she went into her imaginary world with Vision!” You exclaimed enraged, surprising Y/N and America.
The other woman furrowed her brows, she was ready to argue back with you and asked questions about the imaginary world. It was quite evident a lot of things had happened in this strange world and Y/N could only imagine the pain and rage engulfing your heart at the moment.
America could see darkness surrounding the three of you her eyes opening wide almost losing into the shadows until her eyes caught glimpses of red and purple right ahead.
“Guys?” America stuttered lifting her hand and pointing to the distance.
You two stopped your discussion turning around to see the same sparkles of red and purple. It was a formation of dusty colouring breaking into the darkness of the night sky, you turned to the left to see Y/N frowning with determination and America shifting nervously from one foot to the other.
“It’s not that far away, I mean it could be at least one kilometre?” Y/N faced you holding onto the previous tension of your conversation with her, you clenched your fist shrugging.
“Looks that way.”
“Are we…” America started but you lifted a hand to silence her.
“Before we jump in to do something I think we need more information, we don’t even know what we are going to find over there.” You looked out of the corner of your eyes; the lights were still gleaming pretty much intensely but you could tell your two companions didn’t want to stay still and do any planning.
“What do you propose?” Y/N asked lifting her chin, “you know pretty well those sparks of crimson are Wanda’s, and we know this woman, this Agatha has been using purple magic. Are you really suggesting we stand here or keep walking in circles?”
“No! All I am asking is to first think about what we are going to do! We’re not even sure where we are much less what we are going to find there.” You asked back lifting your hands in the air and stepping back, the pain you had forgotten in favour of the discussion came back making you winced.
“Look I know you guys think the world of Wanda, and that’s cool, I guess your Wanda,” this time around you pointed to your counterpart trying to remain calm, “she is all love and kindness and that’s fine. The Wanda in world had a total breakdown that enslaved a bunch of people in a reality she created for herself and that microwave she called husband, so forgive me if I’m not going to jump in without any additional information.”
Your tirade echoed through the night, your voice carried by the wind with a dropped in the temperature. The moon that had been travelling with the three of you flickered all of a sudden, and the darkness grew around the three of you. America didn’t miss the flickering lights of crimson and purple, but she couldn’t stop herself from grabbing your hand in hers, the warm she shared with you made you shivered and with some reluctance you lower you stare to her. Even in such a darkness you could see her brown eyes gleaming with emotions.
“You still love her.” America mumbled squeezing your hand tenderly.
You clenched your jaw tilting your head to the side, America bit her lower lip glancing from you to Y/N.
“I don’t know why this has to be so complicated, but she needs you.” America took a deep breath stepping closer to you. “Wanda is sad, and I know she messed up and that forgiveness should not be given just because you feel that way. But she really needs you, she and Scarlet.”
“Look, I don’t know what happened between the both of you.” Y/N stepped in making sure you could not look away from your own eyes. “But the woman I love is out there, being it in this dimension or another Wanda Maximoff would always be MY Wanda and I won’t leave her out there to get hurt. If not for you, then at least do it for me.”
It was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by darkness and coldness that your heart finally gave in. With a nod, your dropped your shoulders in defeat missing the smile coming from America but never missing the satisfied glance coming from your counterpart. The three of you finally turned to the source of the magic, and without a simple plan you three started making your way to the source.
You were not prepared for what was waiting for you over there.
Agatha Harkness smirked at the woman kneeling before her.
In less than a year she had made it possible to crumble away the legend of the Scarlet Witch while placing herself as the most powerful witch in the multiverse. Her smile never faltered, not even when the world spined around changing into a familiar setting; a place and time Agatha had suffered before but that now she could alter with a single flicker of her hand.
The place was filled with passersby ignoring the presence of the two women; nobody seemed to care that one of them was on her knees with a single neck shackle made of light red and blue tied to a crimson necklace Agatha wore on her chest.
“What do you think about this arrangement, dear?” The dark-haired woman asked, her eyes dropping to the kneeling Wanda who was shooting her a stare filled with anger. “Personally, I think this could be more lively, but don't worry soon enough we will have a show to die for.”
Her laughter was accompanied by a flash of violet, and soon the scene changed and they were transferred to a great marketplace located at the centre of the village. Everyone had reunited around four pillared pyres that were guarded by at least ten knights all dressed in black.
Wanda lifted her face, her ears twitched hearing the sound of angry screams cursing someone she couldn't make out yet. Agatha stirred in excitement; her smile grew until it was a crooked grin with just a hint of madness behind it.
“Here they come…”
The crowd spread around just as four figures came in walking on naked feet wearing red robes and bruised faces. The hatred and fear coming from the crowd was quite evident as the torches and the pitchforks drew wild patterns above the townspeople’s heads. The light of the torches ignited the night, Wanda tensed under the grip of the woman standing beside her, the hairs on her arms raising up while her eyes narrowed to follow the events unfolding in front of her.
The four women were pushed forward, each one of them had a single knight standing behind them with heavy hands they were dragged to the four pillars tied to them facing the crowd. It didn’t take her too long to guess what was about to happen, and what exactly were those pillars; the pyres had been set up to ensure everyone could see the women died. The crowd cheered cruelly, laughing and cursing while the four women glared at the people with more bravery than they actually felt.
“This was my coven.” Agatha spat out, her hands sparkling with a mixture of red and purple, “they saw my power, they read my intentions and instead of supporting me they dared to try and stop me…”
“I wonder why.” Wanda couldn’t hold the sarcasm behind her voice, Agatha pulled harshly on the ropes holding her neck making Wanda fall on her back.
“You really are more daring than your counterparts, dear. I would be careful, if I were to be honest I don’t need you alive.”
Agatha caressed the necklace smirking at Wanda, the woman couldn’t hide her anger and the magic that was pulsating inside her was not enough to protect her from Agatha’s anger. Soon Wanda let out a scream of pain, her body twitching painfully until he couldn’t keep her eyes open and all she could think about was the searing pain on her limbs.
“It has been so long since I was just a lowly witch like them, afraid of fire and the angry crowd. I grew to be magnificent, to have power beyond anyone’s imagination…” Agatha continued with his rambling observing with gleaming eyes as the Major of the town stood forward proclaiming the sins of the four women.
“I just had to find you, Wanda, you and that so-called Scarlet Witch.” Wanda took a deep breath, half hearing the woman while watching with horror as the night above her head flickered from one setting to another.
“It was not easy, you know?”
Agatha flickered her hand to the right and soon Wanda was on her knees watching as the world around her changed. It was like watching a movie in a dome. The world changed to day and night flickering images of Agatha dragging her burnt body through the ground whispering spells that only she could hear. The image soon changed showing the passing of time, Agatha looking around the world and stealing the magic of others while seeking something out of desperation.
She finally found it after more than a century.
Wanda opened her eyes at the familiar setting, Kamar Taj stood under stormy winds and heavy snow. Agatha sneaked around, distracting the inhabitants of the temple by provoking landslides that would certainly have killed innocent people if it hadn’t been by the protectors of the temple. She had enough time to steal a single book.
“Y-you…you stole the..th-e…the Drakhold.” Wanda leaned forward resting her hands on the ground, she was shocked to find the snow under her hands was real and that everything she was seeing was not an illusion but a real event.
Her mind was trying to comprehend what was really happening. Her knowledge of the Darkhold had not been as broad as it had been for Strange and even Loki. But she did know one thing or two about the origins of her powers, Chaos Magic had been called and it gave her the power to bend reality and life in ways not many could access to. The darkness inside her had been contained by her family and her loved ones, but the same could not be said by others, apparently.
“I did.” Agatha finally answered tilting her head, soon the scene changed and they were taken to a place Wanda was familiar with.
Westview.
“Yet, I was still not strong enough, or the only one with powers beyond our imaginations.” Agatha made a face, stepping forward strolling down the streets with Wanda following her. “When the Avengers showed up it was quite evident that people with powers could no longer be hidden. It was my time to shine until you, my dear Wanda, showed up.”
Wanda saw herself in a building in Sokovia, it was a place she was familiar with yet the story that was unfolding in front of her had nothing to do with what she had lived once. Her other self struggled to control her powers, to live her life, to be who she was supposed to be but failed every single time. Agatha had never been too far from those events, and whenever Wanda failed, Agatha would clutch the young woman closer to her. The red and purple magic intertwined without anyone noticing.
“What did you do?” Wanda asked, finding herself in the middle of the square in Westview. It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining right above their heads and not a single cloud in sight.
Agatha smirked, her eyes changing colours to one of deep crimson, “I finally became who I am supposed to be, and soon my dear I will have all the power to bend the universes at my will. And now, I will finish what I started all those months ago with your pathetic counterpart and you will help me out with this.”
The world suddenly exploded around them, Wanda clenched her jaw closed, lifting her eyes to the sky to see the runes above her head.
“You…” She gritted her teeth, her eyes closing right away trying to gather her thoughts and power to stop the woman standing beside her.
Agatha chuckled darkly, her gripped on Wanda tightened allowing the influx of memories to invade the mind of the redhead. It was a life she was no familiar with, a suffering she had not experiment in the same way but that generate in her an understanding of the mess this world was in. She could see the moment Agatha entered the story, the failures and the almost victories until finally she got what she wanted.
A weakened Wanda Maximoff without anyone in the world to stand by her side.
Power.
And a way to get away with her plan.
“You…you won’t win.” Wanda finally got out; her eyes gleaming dangerously at the other woman who made a face rolling her eyes.
“I already did, dear. You just haven’t realized it yet.” Agatha let go of Wanda stepping away.
The brunette straightened up lifting her arms in front of her, her hands creating a purple mist while the necklace she wore zealously around her neck gleamed with intensity. Those eyes that moment’s ago had been brown, were now a deep black and the world around Wanda trembled under the electric shift of power the witch was gathering around her.
“Now, I have all the pieces in place, in my world…under my rules.” Agatha stated tilting her head to the side, “I will bend everyone to my will…and you, Wanda, will be nothing but a bad memory.”
The sky above their heads changed into darkness, the temperature dropped and Wanda felt the heavy weight of the atmosphere overwhelming her. She could sense her counterpart weakening inside the prison Agatha had chosen for her, her thoughts were still a mixture of memories she couldn’t quite place while the heavy emotions running through her soul threaten to overwhelm. Wanda could read the intentions behind the woman standing before her, she could read the hatred and violence behind those dark eyes. Lifting her chin to the sky, and her eyes showing off her own magic she decided if this was going to be her end, she would face it with defiance.
The ball of energy flickered in Agatha’s hand, the world stood still and the with smirked ready to give the final blow.
Agatha was so concentrated in her final goal, she never noticed she was no longer alone and what she though was illusions of her own invention were actually three people she didn’t think would be a problem until one of them stood right in front of her shielding Wanda from an imminent dead.
You had crossed the protective barrier around the strange town with a single thought in mind. Your intention was to get this over with and go back to your life on Norway, your heart beating fast while your mind protest for the easiness in which you were trying to go back to a life in which you were ignoring the woman that had never left your heart. It looked easy, just do your thing and then fixed whatever mess you were in and then…go back.
But the universe and the Powers That Be decided that it wouldn’t be just as easy as a flickered of your hand.
As soon as the three of you crossed the barrier you were face to face with flashes of memories that presented you with a film of the lives of Wanda and Agatha. The stories of the coven and the search for power, as well as the fall of Sokovia and Wanda’s struggles with her powers and her life.
“This is so wrong.” Y/N stated clenching her fist while stepping forward until she was finally standing beside you, the both of you stood on an empty street hearing the sounds of muffled conversation.
“Any plan?” You finally stated ignoring the piercing pain in your heart, your counterpart shrugged nodding to the darkened street that was flashing a mixture of red and purple.
“I think the best approach is a straightforward one.”
“Humph, so go there and just start fighting?” You replied with your lips breaking into a single smirk.
“Yep, pretty much.”
“That doesn’t sound like a solid plan.” America mumbled unsure, she furrowed her brows turning to you and then to your counterpart.
You turned to America placing a hand on her shoulder, “but it is what we have. You are going to stay here and wait.”
“But…I can fight! I can help!” America stepped back frowning, “I won’t be left behind…”
“I know you can fight, kiddo.” You replied tilting your head, “and that’s why you are staying behind.”
America opened her mouth to protest but Y/N came forth shaking her head.
“You are our backup, America. If anything were to happen to us and Wanda…” Y/N stated dropping her gaze for a moment, she turned to you until finally she locked eyes with America. “You need to do anything you can to ensure Agatha won’t scape, you understand?”
America pursed her lips, a part of her understood the mission but another part wanted to go straight ahead and face the woman that had been chasing her through the multiverse. America clenched her fists before nodding curtly and stepping back. You offered a single smile, your hand squeezing comfortingly the shoulder of the teen.
“There would be time, America, for now just watch our backs.”
“I will.”
“Good then, let’s go.”
You nodded curtly allowing your powers to spread in front of you, there was resistance when trying to reach the shadows and for the very first time you understood what your counterpart meant about your instinct. Everything in your body was screaming danger as soon as you came into contact with the shadows, your body shivered under the piercing weight of a million needles. You clenched your jaw closed stepping into the shadows with a single thought in mind.
Wanda.
Without any hesitation and moving through the invisible obstacles in that universe you appeared right before Wanda and Agatha just in time. Your eyes went black with your right arm lifting in front of you and creating a protective barrier just as Agatha’s hand came into contact with your shadows.
There was a flickering of power, the older woman snarled a curse lifting her left arm in the same fashion and launching a second attack. Your eyes opened slightly only for your shadows to slithered away grabbing the woman’s midsection to pull her away.
The world crumbled for an instant; Agatha was completely shocked to see not only you but your counterpart standing right in front of her. The woman straightened up, sweat rolling down her forehead while her right hand closed around her necklace and her other hand summoned the Darkhold.
“You really are a pain in my behind, but at least I won’t have to go around looking for you.” Agatha stated tilting her head to the side, her annoyance giving way to a confident smile. “Now, how about the two of you are good girls and give up, I would hate to spend my time submitting you to get what I want.”
You spread your feet positioning yourself in a fighting pose, your eyes narrowing slightly while the woman in front of you got her magic ready. But before Agatha could do anything at all, another set of shadows grabbed her arms putting them back making her woman lose her grip on the necklace and the Darkhold, your body tensed when Wanda stood up behind you, her voice quivering slightly as she pronounced your name with reverence and love.
“Hey, I hope you didn’t forget about me, Agatha dear.” Your counterpart said winking at Wanda while flickering her hands away, Agatha grunted freeing herself with a blast of energy and stepping a few feet away.
“Hn, I didn’t expect this.” She stated summoning the Darkhold, the world around the four of you changed, shaping itself in a familiar setting you had come to hate in your mind.
Westview.
Agatha never wavered in her confidence, if anything it seemed to grow the same way her magic was doing at the moment. You took a fighting stance, your shadows flickering around waiting for your command. You glanced out of the corner of your eye, Wanda had been trying to stand up but her knees and feet seemed uncooperative. Before you could offer any help, your counterpart came in wrapping her arms around Wanda while placing her forehead against Wanda’s one.
“Hey, love.”
“Hi.” Wanda replied with easiness, Y/N sighed in relief before placing a single kiss on her wife’s cheek.
“I miss you.” Y/N said softly, your heart shrank with emotion when your mind caught up with what was really happening.
You furrowed your brows, sweeping around the place until your darkened eyes fell on Agatha who was smiling playfully at you, her right hand playing absentmindedly with the necklace.
“Where is…Wanda?” The question left your lips before you could stop it, Wanda and Y/N both glanced at one another before they set their eyes on you.
A sinking feeling settled on your lower stomach, you were afraid of the answer when you realized this Wanda was trying to look everywhere but you. Tilting your head, you finally got a good look at your surroundings where the suburban houses filled out the imaginary world; the Wanda you had come to know from another universe held onto your counterpart tightly though right now her green eyes had been focusing straight ahead of you.
“Where is she? Wanda?” You asked again, this time around there was a demanding undertone that the other woman couldn’t ignore.
“Agatha has them under her control, she is using a powerful and dangerous book, Y/N.” Wanda could tell her answer was not of your liking, she stepped forward ready to join you and her wife in the fight glancing at you out of the corner of her eyes.
“You don’t know where she has Wanda?” You asked again never taking your eyes off of the older woman standing before you.
“I have my suspicions but I’m not sure how to interfere with that.” Wanda winced trying to ease out the pain on her neck, you frowned pursing your lips while taking a closer look at Agatha before your eyes found the same house you had come to know as Wanda’s place.
“Well, then let’s get this over with and get Wanda back.” Your arms stretched to the sides, the silent command spurred into action the shadows around you flying straight ahead to try and get Agatha.
Before your counterpart and the other Wanda could help you out, the creatures summoned by Agatha launched their first attack. A great explosion was heard while you evaded the flashing balls of power sent over by the witch.
The fight soon broke over, you didn’t notice it but the dome surrounding this part of the universe tremble sending waves of energy all through the world until they came into contact with the timeline and America. The young woman lifted her head, her eyes gleaming brightly as she tapped into her powers; bouncing on the balls of her feet she waited. America could hear the sound of explosions and the muffled sound of conversations and screams, she glanced at her hands thinking about the lessons she had been learning in the last couple of months. She closed her fists, opening them again before lifting her face. This people had been putting their lives on the line for her, they had been trying to protect her without expecting anything in exchanged. It was about time she helped them.
With a glance to the sky, America took a deep breath closing her eyes for a brief moment. As soon as she opened them, her lips curled into a single smile.
Time for payback.
The street had been completely destroyed during the fight.
There were no more homes standing up, or nice cosy gardens decorating the suburban setting. The world soon became a mixture of nothingness with the flickering holograms of reality that you could not touch. Agatha had learnt a thing or two since fighting with Wanda, you could see her ability to hold onto her powers while also making use of those she had stolen from your Wanda.
You shook your head hating the thoughts running around in your head, the overwhelming emotions that seemed to try and govern your decisions. You tried to focus your energy on what was right in front of you, the problem you were facing went beyond your own emotions. There would be a time for you to deal with them.
Agatha lifted her left hand above her head before letting it fall fast to her side, the sharp pain of your skin being pierce made you grunted. You could feel the wounds on your arms, your eyes igniting in a deep black that soon went right ahead to engulf the witch in front of you.
At some point, Agatha had become faster than your attacks, she stepped aside flickering her hands and soon two more creatures appeared out of nowhere.
“Is that all you got?” You asked almost losing your concentration when you heard the voice of your counterpart in the back.
“Get away from my wife!”
Agatha smirked grabbing her necklace, tilting her head she settled her eyes on you.
“Oh, dear, you would be surprised with the number of tricks I can bring on you.” Agatha stepped forward, her feet never touching the ground. “I could make your dreams come true; I can be what Wanda never was for you.”
You pressed your lips together taking into a fighting stance.
“You know nothing about my dreams, and I am certainly not looking for a replacement.”
Agatha snorted her hand gripping tightly on the necklace, soon a red mist grew from the space between her neck and chest and the world around her turned crimson. Agatha stretched out her arms and the whole world vibrate around you changing in the blink of an eye.
“Are you sure? I can tell by the pathetic way you are always looking at her, but the way you talk about her that there is nothing else you want more than her…” Agatha’s voice rose above the new scene, your eyes flickered around while your stomach dropped when you realized where she had taken you to.
For a brief moment you could make out the screams and grunts of the fight going on right outside this small world. You took a deep breath trying to get a hold of your powers ignoring the runes glowed above your head a clear sign that this was still being controlled by Agatha. You creased your brows knowing that your options were limited if the other woman decided to use her magic at its full potential. She was playing with you, leading you on and one until it was quite clear she was mocking you by placing you right in front of a memory that had broken your heart at some point.
It was playing in slow motion, the video and the room with everyone just as shocked as you were to see Wanda in the arm’s of another. The passing of time, every single moment that you had suffered the betrayal while facing your sadness alone in a world of pure darkness. Your fit closed, the shadows on your feet stirred violently sensing your anger when you heard Agatha laughing. Mocking you.
“How did it make you feel knowing she was happier with a man?” Agatha purred making sure to be as far away from you as she could. “How did it feel knowing you were never going to be chosen in this world? In this universe? I bet it pierce your soul knowing you were the one destined to be alone.”
“Shut up.”
“I can make it go away, I can help you out…say the words, and I will make sure you get what you want.”
Your knees gave under your weight, furrowing your brows you tried to close yourself to the mocking film playing around you trying to focus on the fight. Agatha chuckled tilting her head, this time around the runes above her head pulsated and the two creatures grew before your eyes attacking viciously at your counterpart and Wanda making sure that your conversation and fight with Agatha wouldn’t be interrupted. Agatha centred her eyes on you, her hand grabbing the necklace while the same video seemed to be on replay.
“She won’t be a problem for you anymore, and after I’m done with you…you won’t have to worry about the pain of your broken heart, dear.” The laughter sent shivers down your back, but it was everything you were waiting for.
Your lips curled into a smile, your right hand twirled clockwise and the shadows broke into waves catching up with the witch. Just as you had located her, ready to give her a lesson, the woman was ready to use the magic Wanda and Scarlet were giving to her to make sure the next stage of her plan could be completed.
It never happened, though.
Your attack never stopped reaching out to your objective, while Agatha tried to return the hit she was surprised by a sudden punch to her face. The punch glow white, and her body bounced back and forth until she lost the hold on the necklace, America Chavez didn’t stop there and your shadows went straight to hold onto the witch to bring her down.
Everything happened so fast, your eyes went from America to Agatha and finally to the object on the ground. The necklace bounced on the ground, and without thinking too much you went right ahead to grab it. The object was warm to the touch, you could tell by the vibrations that magic had been contained between the object and this magic could only belong to one person. You closed your hand around it, you could sense Scarlet deep inside your mind. It didn’t take you too long to recognize the woman that had been haunting your dreams as of late, right with her you could also sense Wanda trying to hide, trying to survive.
“NO!”
The scream coming from Agatha was everything you needed to drop the necklace and stomp on the piece of jewellery creating an explosion that blew you and everyone around you away.
“Humph…” Your mouth opened letting out a shaky breath, your body hurt all over while your eyes got use to the sparkling lights that appeared before them when your head hit the ground.
“Y/N!!” You tried to sit up, a pair of arms held onto you for a brief moment until you were capable of making out the figure sitting beside you.
America had her brows creased; her eyes shone with worry while she tried to hold you up. The fighting was still ringing inside your ears, your counterpart was finishing the last of the dimensional creatures while you could spot her Wanda holding back against Agatha. For a brief moment, panic rose inside you the sudden need to throw up became almost to much just as you leaned forward trying to stand up your eyes looking frantically for the women that had been haunting your dreams and reality as of late.
“They are unconscious…” America started but she could not finish her sentence as you stood up without any warning.
“Wanda…” Her name escaped your lips without meaning to, at that moment with your body exhausted and your mind already carrying the weight of so many memories and thoughts all you could do was staggered forward until you reached both women.
You stood on shaky legs glancing from Wanda to Scarlet, both of them unconscious wearing the same bags under their eyes and the bruises all over their faces and arms. You hesitated not really knowing where you should focus your attention until, as an afterthought you went to Wanda. Turning her to the side you ensure she was comfortable, her lip had a deep cut and her forehead had traces of a scratch that left her with blood and dirt. She looked thinner than you remember, with her face wearing still the same defeated expression she wore to your home all those months ago.
“Wanda.” You said her name again, this time around firmer and demanding, your hand trying to help her out until you heard her exclamation of pain. “Wanda, are you alright?”
The young woman stirred in your arms, her eyes flickering slightly until she opened her lips and let out an exclamation of pain. You put her back on the ground, turning around you could see Scarlet was stirring awake as well while the fight seemed to have no end.
“Y/N…” You turned to see Wanda’s eyes fluttering open, her green orbs looking back at you with sadness and tenderness that had your heart beating a tad bit faster.
“Hey, are you alright?” You leaned in but Wanda looked away helping herself up, you tired to assist her but your body froze for a moment unsure on how to proceed with the woman sitting before you.
“I…I am a little sore.” She replied, her eyes never leaving the form of Scarlet, Wanda furrowed her brows glancing at her hands then back at the other woman. “She…she is…Scarlet Witch.”
Her words trembled as she pronounced them, her face lowered thinking to herself knowing full well your attention was on her. She remembered the moment she had separated herself from the legend, the words of Agatha had haunted her at that moment when she realized there was something inside her giving her powers a deeper meaning. She had hated that idea, and the world that had been created out of it.
When Wanda finally dared to look up she found herself looking into your eyes. Her heart stirred with emotion, the words that wanted to pour out of her mouth entangled around her throat for she knew it was not the time for a heart-to-heart conversation. She wished everything had turned out different, but after her confrontation with Agatha and everything she had discovered whiled trapped in that reality she knew what she needed to do.
“Can you…help me up?” She asked shyly, you nodded curtly stretching your hands for her to take them.
She was cold under your touch, and a little sweaty.
Her cheeks coloured pink, and her eyes glanced everywhere but at you. You felt a piercing pain going through your chest, but you ignored it while helping the other woman up. For a brief moment, you thought she could walk on her on until Wanda’s legs trembled and almost gave up on her. You caught her just on time, her body pressing against yours making your traitorous heart stopped for a brief moment.
“How convenient, Wanda.” Scarlet was on her knees; she had sweat falling down her face breathing hard and glaring at the two of you though her eyes were completely focused on Wanda. “You…you don’t do nothing, yet you get to be with her.”
Wanda tensed in your arms, she took a deep breath while pushing you away taking one step at a time until she was standing before Scarlet. You lifted your eyes to see America just as focused on the two women as you were, the sound of the fighting was till rumbling in your ears but it was almost impossible to pay attention to something else that wasn’t the scene playing out in front of you.
Wanda held herself up, conscious of the hatred inside the eyes of Scarlet.
Inside her own eyes.
“We don’t get to be with her.” Wanda mumbled dropping her shoulders, tears gathering in her eyes as she spoke. “I’ve been trying to make amends but I just…”
“You always failed, and you make it worse.” Scarlet spat out lifting her chin in defiance, her position on the ground was not an inconvenience. If anything, it gave her the power that Wanda couldn’t show at the moment.
“I tried to reach out to her, to make her world and mine…to…”
“I know.” Wanda offered a weakened smile, looking out of the corner of her eyes she could see you had your attention on the both of them. “I tried to do the same. I just…I can’t do it alone, and I’m tired of failing every time. I don’t…”
Wanda swallowed down her tears, she leaned in lifting her left hand until she was cupping Scarlet’s cheek. Red mist appeared in Wanda’s hand, and soon her eyes as much as those of Scarlet were shining brightly.
“It hurts so much.” Scarlet said letting the tears rolled down her cheeks. “I just…
“I don’t want to be alone, and I don’t want to be without her.” Wanda finally said her own tears falling down her face.
You clenched your jaw, looking away for a moment while your chest felt a myriad of butterflies fluttering inside.
“But I can’t keep fighting alone, or divided.” Wanda stated, she wiped away Scarlet’s tears before adding. “I think we need to be one, you saw just how powerful we are together and…”
“You need to fix this, or we would never…”
“I know, but this may not end the way you want it.”
Scarlet drifted her attention to you, her eyes found those of yours and in there you could read everything you had been so afraid to interpret the first time. There was pain and sadness, emotions that broke into her heart in ways you could only imagine, and then there was love. You looked away stepping back under the intensity of such a stare, you missed the broken smile on Scarlet’s face and the defeat she wore while facing Wanda again.
“I know, I think we will cope when the time for that comes.” Wanda nodded in understanding; her hands gleamed brighter than ever while Scarlet placed her hand on top of hers.
“I promised you I won’t give up.”
“Good, then let’s do this.”
The crimson mist grew around them glowing with a bright, red light making you trembled under the intensity of the magic. You could see America kneeling down, her eyes going wide open as they stare the scene unfolding before her eyes.
Wanda and Scarlet were no longer two different entities.
Standing before you was a single woman, her head was adorned with a red crown that made match with the bodice and the black leggings. Wanda stood there with magic coming from her hands, her eyes a deep shade of red that gathered the power you had always known she had in her. The woman stood still for a moment, she glanced at her body and her hands before her face lifted to stare at you.
You tried to hide your expression, your lips parting to speak but not words came out. Wanda hesitated before nodding her feet moving slowly until she turned around making her way to the fight.
“Is she gonna be okay?” America stood right beside you, squirting at the woman now using her magic to help her counterpart in the fight against Agatha.
“I think so…” You trailed off finally realizing that even though the both of them had finally become one, Wanda was still wearing the bruises and the exhaustion on her face.
“Are you okay?” America asked quite concern, you turned to her offering a half smile.
“I will be.” You sighed scratching the back of your neck. “Stay here and be careful.”
“What are you gonna do?” The teen asked slightly scare, you offered her a half smile turning towards the fight that was a tied between the Wandas and Agatha.
“What we came to do, just stay out of trouble and be ready to help us go back home, okay kiddo?”
America doubt there was anything she could do, but she didn’t contradict you. With a single nodded of her head she watched as you ran towards the fight, your shadows already creating a protective barrier around you and Wanda. Something, America though, you probably were not aware of.

Loki rolled his eyes once more, he was tired of hearing the fight going on in the meeting room while he stood by the window waiting for the right moment to intervene.
The world outside was highly active, Monday had always been one of the busiest days in the calendar and that day was not the exception. The young god leaned forward, his fingertips touching the window while his eyes observed the golden and green lights of the timelines. His eyes soon fell upon the one he did not recognise, a red line that he could not tamper with but that he was certain contained the answers to the questions everyone in the room were posing.
Loki turned around his eyes finding those of Billy who had not leave his side ever since Pietro brought him into the Avenger’s Tower. The young boy had his eyes narrowed, his hands playing with invisible threats only he could see.
For a brief moment, Loki stood there observing the child with growing curiosity. Billy was tapping the air with his fingertips, concentrated in something only visible to him. Loki frowned with his mind already forming an idea of what exactly was happening.
“Billy, what are you doing?” The question was low enough for the child to hear it but not for the rest of the room to notice it.
Billy lifted his face this time around his eyes went wide opened showing off the innocence of his age, but also the brightness he had inherited from both his mothers.
“Mommy always says to follow my instincts.” There was conviction in his tone, his hands tapping still as if waiting for something.
“And, what are they telling you?” Loki knelt to be on the same height of the child, Billy tilted his head creasing his brows before answering.
“Uncle Loki, momma and mommy need my help…look!”
Loki looked in the direction Billy was pointing to, he gasped with his eyes wide open and a smile forming on his lips.
“Billy you are a genius.” Billy offered a timid smile glancing at Loki shyly.
“Really?”
“Yes, and I think thanks to you we are going to be able to help Wanda and Y/N.” Loki could see the excitement in the little boy, he couldn’t help but smile back.
Without giving to much attention to the room, Loki sat right beside Billy closing his eyes before letting his magic to spread around. Billy was slightly confused at first, he had continued working on invisible threads trying to get into contact with them. Now there was something different, with his uncle sitting beside him Billy could sense the magic. He pressed his lips together before sitting down and, imitating Loki, he closed his eyes and just went with his instincts.
_____________________________________________________________
Whatever power she had tried to drain from Wanda and even Scarlet was no longer active to give her the stamina or even the strength to keep up with the fight. She was not even up to sustain the world she had created by tampering on the Chaos magic she could barely tolerate.
Wanda Maximoff gathered her power while circling the woman in front of her, she could feel the hurt she had created for her counterpart had reached out beyond the boundaries of the multiverse and it was something she would not tolerate. Beside her she could sense Y/N, a close shadow that was ready to jump in when necessary to offer protection and support; Wanda couldn’t help but smile.
“You won’t win.” Agatha tried to put up with a fight, she tried to hold onto the last threads of power inside her to get into the fight but she could no longer hold onto her powers for far too long.
You came from behind her your hands wrapping around her wrists while your shadows covered her feet spreading through her legs and body. Agatha was struggling, her eyes going wide open just as she started chanting in a language you did not recognize. Wanda opened her eyes wide, she stepped closer spreading her arms and chanting just the same, the runes trembling right above your head just before a myriad of images surrounded you breaking the darkness before going completely white.
“NO!” Agatha let out a guttural exclamation, her elbow hitting you square in the face but whatever strength she had in her to fight was haltered by your counterpart finishing what you started.
Wanda knew at that moment why she had been feared by Agatha, the power that was held inside her sent electric waves through her body. The power concentrated on her hand, and soon a single jewel showed on her palm while her counterpart continued with the ritual. The runes appeared right above her head, and without any indications, she started chanting as well.
You stepped back falling on your ass, blood rolling down your nose just as you saw the black figured being swallowed by the jewel. There was a moment of flickering lights and then, it stopped. Both Wanda’s stood right in front of the other, the jewel resting comfortably on the hand of Y/N’s wife.
The jewel took into a purplish colour, falling to the ground with a single thump.
The world went silent.
The darkness around you grew, with the stars twinkling right above your head.
Everything was still, with only your hard breathing breaking the tension around your ears. Your body was aching, your mind filled with memories of the past and the present all of them pilling up to overwhelmed you line of thoughts. You closed your eyes trying to forget and wait for everything to be back the way it was in the last year.
But you knew it was just an illusion.
Your world had been shaken up the moment Wanda and America showed up at your doorstep. The fight with Agatha brought back the memories you had tried to forget, it brought with it the truths you were not ready to face. You had always thought that you could outrun your motions, but the world has always taught you this was not possible. Not for someone like you, and certainly not for someone like Wanda.
When you opened your eyes you saw Wanda, your Wanda staring at you, but before anything could be done or said her eyes rolled back passing out of exhaustion. You caught up to her on time, her body falling on yours your face a mask of pure concern just as you ensure she rested comfortably on the ground.
You knew everyone was looking at you, but you decided to ignore them while checking Wanda over to make sure nothing else happened to her.
“Are you alright?” The other Wanda came to you, her voice sent shivers down your back, you didn’t dare to lift your eyes for fear of revealing far too much.
Instead, you nodded taking deep breaths while feeling the ground under your knees, without thinking too much about it, your hand brushed Wanda’s hair tenderly. The attention you were giving to her was something you never thought you would do again. The woman standing beside you shifted her weight and soon she was sitting right beside you; this time around you did turn around only to see her staring at you with big, curious eyes.
“She is still unconscious, but I believe she is no longer two halves of the same person.” Wanda lifted her face to the sky, her lips parting slightly. “Her magic is still erratic, but I believe she would be okay.”
“What about Agatha?” Your question entangled in your throat, scrunching up your nose you decided to conceal your emotions not ready to face the conversation or to address the white elephant hanging around you two.
“She will be trapped in this jewel until you and her decided what should be done with her.” Wanda handed over the jewel, you pursed your lips in disgust before grabbing the artifact.
“The book she had with her, it is the Darkhold, isn’t it?”
“It is.” You nodded this time around locking your eyes with hers.
“Are you taking it with you?”
Wanda broke into an easy smile shaking her head, “it’s not mine but yours. It would be better off in your world, where it belongs.”
“It should be destroyed.” You leaned back resting your hands on the ground.
“It should, but that would be your prerogative not ours.”
Your eyes drifted around the place before they settled on America and Y/N, both of them were engaged in a heavy discussion and you could teel this was the moment America had been waiting for a very long time. The feelings of guiltiness and sadness had been quite evident in her when you two met, right now this was the chance the young woman was waiting for to make amends. To reach for forgiveness.
“So, any idea how we are going to leave this place?”
Wanda nodded leaning back until she pointed to America and your counterpart.
“She is ready to use her powers, I believe she is the only one that can help us right now.”
Not sooner had Wanda said this the world started to tremble, the light of the stars flickered until they disappeared one by one. You straightened up with Wanda standing up as soon as she noticed this.
“I guess…we should try it right now.” You stood up turning to glance at the darkened world, everything was coming in and out of reality with the ground shaking for small periods of time.
“It was a matter of time.” Wanda placed a hand on your forearm, you couldn’t help the tension on your muscles the other woman softened her features stepping closer. “You will be back, and she will need help to recover from this.”
“I know.”
“Are you ready for that?” The question caught you off guard, you knew what was expected of you and what you could do with the woman that had broken your heart at some point.
You could hide behind that excuse until the end of time, but it would run out of any validity at some point. Sooner or later, you knew you would have to face Wanda and decisions must be made. The Wanda standing before you softened her features, her words would made your mind pound with the imminent decisions you would need to make.
“How deep is your anger, and how deep goes your love for you to not face what your heart already knows?” Wanda leaned in and you found yourself in a embrace you didn’t know you miss. Her voice was just a whisper, but it was everything you needed at the moment. “I won’t tell you what to do, but I will tell you my love to follow your instincts. They had never failed you.”
America glanced around the group with a nervous smile.
She glanced at her hands then back at you and Y/N, the words of encouragement were ringing inside her head while she tried to gather the courage to move onto the next step.
“Just think about it, kiddo.” Y/N stated grabbing the hand of her wife, America almost winced at those words because her mind had been a myriad of thoughts since they delegate the task of going back home on her.
You fixed the unconscious woman in your arms, putting her closer to you while looking over at America. The young woman closed her eyes, ready to open the portal when Wanda stopped her.
“Wait, America.” The redhead stepped closer placing her hand on America’s shoulder. “Remember, it is more than opening a portal, is about opening the right one.”
“I know, I know…it’s just…easier said than done.” America pursed her lips, she took a deep breath closing her eyes.
“Then, let yourself be guided by your emotions and what you remember of the place you want to go to.” Wanda squeezed the shoulder of the teen tenderly, and for that brief moment America felt it.
It was vague but it was there.
The same kind of energy she had felt on Wanda and Y/N, it was familiar yet different. She had felt it when she first fell upon that universe, the twins had carried with them a strange kind of energy that seemed to engulf the best of Wanda and Y/N.
America closed her eyes and, without thinking to much, she followed the familiarity of that energy. Her mind bringing over the memories of her time in that land, finally easing out her fears and trusting in the women she had surrounding her.
The young woman clenched her fist, and with a single punch she opened the star-shaped portal.
All of them were ready to go home.

The intimacy of shared silence.
The quiet wince as Roman's knife sliced a tear into my finger.
The hiss he let out as the other blade sunk into his own.
I wasn't sure why my hand was shaking, but there was no way to stop it-- I watched as the blood trailed down my hand and down into the vial I held close to my skin, careful not to waste a single drop. My gaze fell on Roman, whose eyes were already on me; his pupils were unusually large, but there was a softness about him which made me forget that he looked a little spaced out.
The intimacy of shared silence as we exchanged the vials.
The steady breath falling hot against my cheek as Roman clasped the necklace around my neck.
The realization that I was wearing his blood and that he was wearing mine.
So, as we sat beneath the willow tree by the river, listening to the rustling of the vines surrounding us, I tried to comprehend what it was that I had said yes to. When Roman proposed we do this, I never expected it to be a ceremony of sorts. That's the way it felt, after all-- and that was the feeling I was left with as he got up, going down to the dock right by, dipping the bloodied knives by the water.
My finger pulsated as I realized the stream of blood wasn't stopping. I hissed, feeling the sharp sting-- Had the cut maybe been too deep? Roman sat back down in front of me, now taking my bleeding hand into his. He gripped it a little too hard, with an unnatural look of transfixion in his eyes as I bled onto his fingers.
"Rome," I tried, my free hand anxiously rubbing my vial of his blood between my fingers. "It's getting everywhere, do you have anything to?--"
I didn't get to finish my sentence before Roman brought my bleeding finger to his mouth, pressing his tongue flat against the cut. I whimpered as he licked a stripe up along the tear, and I watched him close his eyes as he savoured the deep taste of iron.
How was I to comprehend what he was doing? I couldn't deny that I found this shocking imagery thrilling, sexy even, but I didn't know what to make of it. There was nothing I could do as my hand trembled against his lips, the sharp twinge of pain making me wince with every movement of his tongue. "Ouch, Roman--"
He seemed to snap out of it, and it didn't take long before he pulled away and dragged what looked like a handkerchief out of his pocket, gently wrapping it around my finger. Roman was suddenly handling me with such care, that I couldn't help but feel warm. Or was I possibly about to faint? He pressed his lips against the back of my hand before intertwining our fingers, his own blood barely having left a trace at all.
Something about the whole ordeal was almost too intense for me to handle-- I broke out into a soft, contained giggle, meeting his green eyes. "So?"
"So, what?" Roman asked, tilting his head to the side as he squeezed my fingers.
I shrugged; "Was that what you imagined it would be?" There was a genuine curiosity behind my query; when he had brought up his deepest, darkest wish (which I was glad didn't turn out to be murder), I hadn't expected it to be this. When Roman told me he had something he inherited from his grandfather that he wanted to put into use, I was innately intrigued.
It made my heart flutter to think he wanted to share what was practically a family heirloom with little old me, and that he had fantasized about wearing my blood around his neck. Underneath his shirts, he had said, his heart beating against the very component keeping me alive. However, when I tried to explain to Roman how devastatingly beautiful that was, he had shrugged it off-- "Nah, it would just be dope,"
Dope. I almost rolled my eyes at the memory.
Still, as Roman leaned forward to press a kiss to my lips, I could do nothing but sigh. "Yeah," he breathed, smiling against me. "It's so cool. And these things are, like, three hundred years old, too."
"What?" I felt my hands get clammy just from the thought. "Are you sure you want to give this to me, then? This is priceless!--"
"Stop it, it's yours," Roman squeezed my fingers once more, the bloodied handkerchief wrapping over his hands as well. It was at this moment that my eyes darted down, wondering whether the design was from the brand I thought it was--
I gasped; this was not a normal handkerchief. "Did I just wipe my blood on Gucci silk?!" Pulling my hands out of his, I studied the bloodied logo as Roman laughed. It dawned on me how much money the Godfrey family actually had-- if he was so careless about something so ridiculously pricey, the family fortune must've been much more than I had initially thought. Maybe I had known, but swept it under the rug for my own sanity? Because how many times had I not walked past the newspaper stands in the city and seen the face of his mother, Olivia Godfrey, on the front page followed by the words billion dollar company?
Roman huffed, shrugging; "Would you rather I let you bleed out? That would definitely taint the memory of my hideout spot,"
He was right-- I was reminded of where I was. Roman had told me he wanted to show me his favourite place after class today, the place he went to clear his head. I could argue this was the prettiest place in the whole of Hemlock Grove as we sat by a small, secluded lake beneath a willow tree. By the small dock leading out to the water, Roman and I had previously had a rock-skipping competition just before we sat down to fill the vials.
He had crushed me at that, of course.
Still, I hadn't expected him to find comfort in a place so ethereal. For some reason, I had expected something dark, like a little cave with little to no light surrounded by Satanist worship panels. That was certainly the image I had of him before we got together-- I used to imagine him bent before an altar dedicated to Satan, begging to be blessed with the opportunity for murder which he could get away with as involuntary manslaughter in the eyes of the law.
But not this. Certainly not this gorgeous scenery.
"Alright then," I breathed, watching as Roman rubbed his vial between his fingers. "Do you come here often?"
He shrugged, eyes transfixed on my blood. There was something eerie about the way he hadn't blinked in what seemed like a minute. "Nah," he mumbled, visibly absentminded. Still, he managed to slip out a crucial detail; "But I used to come here a lot when we weren't together yet and needed time to think."
"About...?"
Roman's green eyes darted at me with speed I didn't expect-- it almost made my breath hitch. There was a certain intensity about him; "You,"
"Well, duh,"
"Duh," he echoed, a smirk slipping past his cracks.
Roman's hair lay in soft waves over his forehead, and I kept thinking about how much I wanted to kiss his lips swollen. Feel his breath graze my cheek, the gentle push of his nose against mine as his tongue licked at mine-- "So you were just sitting here thinking about me? You're more of a loverboy than I thought,"
He snorted; "One more word from you about it and I'm throwing you into the water,"
"You wouldn't dare!--"
"I so would," Roman proceeded to laugh, reaching forward to take my hands into his. The touch sparked a fire in the tips of my fingers as I reveled in the feeling of his soft palms. I gave his hands a soft squeeze, and I could see him retreat a little from the present before he continued; "I don't know, I just... didn't want to let you down."
My brows drew together. "What?"
"Yeah, like-- fuck," Roman sighed, now chewing on the inside of his cheek as his smile faltered. "I sat here a lot trying to find the version of me that you might not run from. I spent most of my time hoping I had it in me to get myself together... for you."
It was a lot to take in, and some things were almost shocking to hear. Still, it was clear to me; "Rome, I think you've misunderstood..." Slowly pulling my hands out of his, I scooted forward on the grass. I watched the confusion in his eyes as I cupped his face, watching him keen against my touch. "I don't want a version of you, and I'm not planning on running any time soon. You can be yourself around me, do you know that?"
Roman put his hands on top of mine, sighing as his green eyes rounded out in a look of defeat. "Yeah, but I can get pretty... dark,"
"I know," I breathed, stroking my thumbs across his cheek. I was aware that the darker side of Roman had scared the crap out of me several times, but the stupid part of me was almost ready to let him kill me if he wanted to. "But if you get really dark, I have a built-in light in my phone that I can shine on you. Right in your face. You'll be hissing to get away, just you wait."
That seemed to do the trick-- I watched Roman crack up, laughing as he buried his face in the crook of my neck. My hands went up into his hair as I pressed a kiss to his temple, and I closed my eyes as I reveled in the moment. When our laughter died down, the only sounds left were the rustling of the leaves around us and the quiet ripples in the water brushing up against the shore nearby.
Roman's following words were muffled against my neck, but his teasing tone still shone through; "You're down bad for me, aren't ya?"
"... Shut up," I mumbled, rolling my eyes as I got ready to push him off.
Still, Roman only laughed, softly kissing my neck as he pulled me into his lap. "You're so crazy about me,"
"Stop it!--"
"Fucking carved our initials into a tree,"
"You said it was cute!-- Ah!" Suddenly, I felt a pain unlike anything I had ever felt before; it was sharp and mind-numbingly deep. It took a second or two before I realized Roman had sunk his teeth into my shoulder, and I could only whimper in pain as I instinctively grabbed a fistful of his hair. It lasted longer than I ever imagined something like this would, and I caught myself wondering when it would be over and when he'd be done, pleading with myself to keep it together. When Roman finally pulled away, I had to breathe deeply to collect myself-- I wasn't sure why tears were pressing up in my eyes, and I broke out into a nervous, quiet laugh as I rubbed my shoulder. "Ow..."
Roman flashed an apologetic smile; "Sorry," he breathed. "Got a little excited."
I kept glancing down at my shoulder, trying to catch a glimpse of the mark he certainly left. "What are you, a vampire or something?" I met his eyes, watching as my joke didn't land as well as I thought it would.
Roman inhaled sharply; "Not exactly,"
"... Right," My gaze fell on the vial of my blood hanging around his neck as a feeling of unease crept up my system. Was something about it setting him off?
I decided to force it out of my mind-- I was being ridiculous, right?
Still, Roman seemed genuinely sorry; "You can bite me back if you want to," he tried. "Really, really hard. Anywhere you want."
"... Anywhere?" As my evil plan formed in my mind, I knew exactly where he wouldn't want me to bite him. "Anywhere, Roman?"
His eyes widened as he realized what he had just said-- "No, I take that back! Not anywhere, no! Not there!"
It was impossible to hold back my fit of laughter. "Yes, there!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
As I laughed, Roman rolled his eyes and pressed a kiss to my cheek; "Okay, I'm not letting you near my dick ever again, that's noted,"
"Yeah, right,"
"No, I'm serious!"
I snorted; "That won't last you twenty-four hours,"
"Fucking try me," His eyes sparkled with mischief-- this was going to be fun. 。゚•┈୨♡୧┈• 。゚
I had somehow managed to get out of Roman's grip for long enough to study. It was hard to make time for it, let alone find the time for it, seeing as it was much more tempting to lay around doing nothing with my new boyfriend all day. Still, I had forced myself to go down to the public library, as school wasn't open on a Saturday.
After spending some time buying myself a coffee and finding a place to sit, I slumped down in one of the last free spots and got to work. It was tough to find a flow, and I hadn't studied properly in a while-- I had Roman to thank for that. He was a dangerously handsome walking distraction. It would probably be easier to get back to studying if he didn't give me such a hard time for running away from him, as he called it. Roman didn't realize it himself, but he was practically running around with a sign on his chest saying 'abandonment issues'.
My mind kept wandering back to Roman, wondering what he was doing, whether he was nuking my phone with messages or not, and it got so bad that I had to simply put my work away to take a breather. Why couldn't I focus? I rubbed my vial necklace between my fingers, closing my eyes; it was oddly comforting to know a piece of him would always be with me.
And just as I opened my eyes, ready to rip my mind out of the gutter, I spotted the one person I never thought I'd see at a public library-- or at any library, for that matter. "Peter!" I said, reaching out to grab his arm.
He had almost passed me without noticing me, and his wide, bewildered eyes softened when he saw who it was that had grabbed him. Peter was carrying an awful lot of books, but there was no struggle in the heavy load-- "Oh, it's you!" he said, smiling down at me. "You managed to get away from that boyfriend of yours for more than thirty minutes? Congratulations are in order!"
I snorted, motioning for him to sit down next to me. I was surprisingly happy to see Peter; "Yeah, I did! Can you believe it?"
He laughed-- "Nope. Actually, I can't. I haven't managed to hang out with him since you guys got together, so this is quite the shocker," Peter put all his books down on the table, and I must've counted about six or seven of them. He let out a loud sigh, spreading out; "What are you working on?"
"Some stupid English lit assignment," I turned my book to him, revealing my notes. "If I have to do one more essay about Charles Dickens, I'm going to explode. Seriously. Splatter everywhere with my flesh and blood staining the floor, and so forth."
"Gory," Peter prompted, nodding to himself.
Agreed-- "And you?"
Peter seemed reluctant to answer. His brown hair practically obscured his eyes, showing signs of needing a haircut soon, as he reached for the book closest to him. "The Ethical Dilemma of Feeling," he mumbled, scanning the title over and over.
He looked deep in thought as I reached for another one of his books; titles such as when you feel what you shouldn't, levels of treason and betrayal, and the art of forgiving struck me. "Dude, are you okay?" I asked, nudging him with a trying smile. I only knew Peter through Roman, but I wanted him to know he could confide in me nonetheless.
Still, he simply shrugged; "I might want to study philosophy in college... Just doing some light reading,"
Something told me he was lying his ass off in broad daylight. "Are you sure this is the stuff you should be reading then? Maybe try starting in, like, the ancient Greece section?--"
"Sure," Peter brushed it off, snapping out of his state of deep thinking. He placed his elbows on the table, turning back into the typical version of him as a broad smile formed across his lips. "Roman's jacket?"
Huh? "Roman's-- What?"
Peter's deep laugh echoed the hall, now pointing at my jacket. "It's Roman's, isn't it?"
Oh. I forgot I was wearing it today. "No, this is obviously my size," I joked, holding back an obnoxious smile. "What about it?"
"Nothing," Peter beamed right back at me, a knowing look in his eyes. "I just remember doing that with my girlfriend back in the day, before we broke up. I'm glad Roman's gotten his act together to experience that feeling as well."
"What feeling?"
"The warmth," Peter sat back in his chair, folding his arms over his chest as he nodded to himself. "It feels nice when your girl is wearing your clothes. And you can't deny he's a bit of an icicle. An arctic penguin, if you will."
It was impossible not to laugh-- "That's quite specific,"
"Sure, but it's true. An arctic penguin with a huge igloo he doesn't share with anyone,"
"Right," I hummed. "Then how come you're friends with a penguin?"
Peter lingered on the question, chewing the inside of his cheek as he thought long and hard. Finally, he answered; "Because he'd burn down the whole arctic for me if I ever needed him to. That's just who he is. He wouldn't even hesitate,"
It was impossible not to smile-- frankly, I was rather moved. "That's beautiful, actually,"
"Well... Before you make that conclusion, it might be smart to consider the possibility that he's simply be a repressed arsonist,"
I nearly choked on air, coughing through my outburst of laughter. Fucking hell-- men. "I wouldn't be so surprised," I said. "But he's sweet. The whole Letha ordeal feels worth it, and... I will have him returned to you soon, don't worry. You'll get your guy back."
Peter nodded; "I appreciate that, but... what Letha ordeal?"
Did he not know? My brows drew together as I grew uncomfortable with having to retell that story. It certainly didn't make me look like the hero. "Just... how Roman and I ended up together. You know this though, right?"
"Oh, that! Yeah, Letha told me about it,"
I let my confusion be visible on my face as I shifted in my seat, moving closer to the edge to straighten up. "You talk to Letha?"
Peter blinked twice, taking a second before he shrugged; "We... used to, before Roman declared war,"
"Oh," This was certainly news to me. "And what did she say?"
He let out a rather patronizing laugh, spreading out on his chair as he stared back at me with his brown eyes. His head tilted to the side, looking at me as though I was the dumbest little thing he had ever encountered. "Nothing crazy. She mostly just ranted at me, I didn't even get a word in,"
I wasn't sure why I was freezing up. "And what did she say about... me?"
Peter sighed, growing dismissive. "This was a long time ago. I don't remember,"
"Right, right..." I felt my heart drop as I sat back in my chair, defeated. I had an inkling that Peter was protecting my feelings. It didn't take long before he cleared his throat, getting up from his chair. "Don't think about it, okay?" he said, nudging my shoulder. "You've gotta let the bitches talk shit."
"Yeah..."
Peter sighed, sending me a soft smile as I finally looked up to meet his wonky smile. "I'm gonna go give all this crap back and look at the ancient greek philosophy instead. Thanks for the tip. And good luck with the Dickens shit."
I snorted, nodding as I realized I had to get back to work. "I'm gonna have the time of my life, thank you,"
Peter laughed, grunting slightly at the full weight of the books. "I see... And good luck with our favourite bloodsucker, tell him I said hi,"
I felt my heart drop, watching Peter walk away as I dwelled on his last words. Bloodsucker. I inhaled a sharp breath; putting my hand on my shoulder, it felt as though the bitemark Roman had given me was pulsating against my palm. Peter had used such a specific word, and I couldn't put my finger on why I was so shaken up about it. Then I remembered Roman sucking the blood off my finger--
No. This is nonsense.
I got about an hours load of work done before I decided I was done for the day, and I had developed a really bad headache. The clock had barely struck three, but it felt like the day was over already. I was so, so ready to go home and call Roman.
On my way out of the library, I had to pass a section called folklore-- and this was when I caught myself stopping in my tracks.
I stared at the book in front of me for a good minute. I couldn't look away.
The Avoidable Vampirism - The Upir.
... I had no idea what came over me as I reached for it, reading the back page;
The ficticious entity of the vampire has scared generations of human kind. However, there is a much more damning creature that walks our earth which should be the real concern; the upir, the slavic prototype of the vampire branch, is born a cocoon of an age-old curse which is ready to take over the human body through the tragedy of suicide. Upirism lives beneath their skin, scratches at their teeth, and corrupts their minds through dark urges in constant attempts to drive them to the edge of genesis. Do you suspect you are a upir, or do you recognize a darkness in your loved ones?
My heart beat hard in my chest as I stopped reading, not wanting to hear any more of it. I wasn't sure why this book was making me so nervous, why my mind was spinning with thoughts I knew were absolutely ridiculous-- I reached out for my necklace, rubbing the vial of Roman's blood between my fingers as my thoughts raced.
I certainly had no idea what came over me as I went over to the counter nearby and signed the book to my name. No idea whatsoever as I stuffed it down my bag and hurried out of the library.
。゚•┈୨♡୧┈• 。゚
Later that day, I had my usual reoccuring stream of thoughts; this was nice. I could live like this forever.
Roman's hair was incredibly soft. I wondered whether he used a specific shampoo to make it so silky to the touch, or whether it was the typical thirteen-in-one shampoo all men seemed to be using these days. Maybe it was just a Roman thing-- maybe his hair was magically perfect all the time, and his skin was always perfect and smooth. I had no way to be sure as I caressed his cheek, feeling the weight of him on top of me as we laid in my bed around midnight.
I placed a kiss to the top of his head, my free hand gently raking through his silky locks of golden-brown hair. Roman didn't allow me to hold him like this very often in the start, but now, it was hard to get him off of me for even one second; when I managed to discreetly flip him over on me when he fell asleep, he let out a long, light sigh as his head laid against my chest.
I could hold him like this forever. Feel his breath against my body, be in awe of his long lashes; now that he was asleep, I could finally stare without getting a weird look-- Roman was so beautiful. The annoying part was just how aware he was of this.
So I held him. Watched him sleep in my arms as I stroked over his back in gentle motions, feeling the soft fabric of his sweater against the tips of my fingers. It was all worth it in moments like these, when Roman wrapped his arms tighter around me in his slumber-- he shifted, making himself comfortable with a short, airy grunt.
Why was that so cute? I could be sure I was whipped now that I found his little noises to be endearing. Even in moments where he'd snore for a few minutes, I listened in pure awe.
I liked to imagine that Roman enjoyed this part of our relationship-- the normalcy. There was nothing in the world I wanted more than to bring some stability into his life, as I felt he didn't get much of it at home. I had yet to get more information about that out of him; he never talked about his family. Still, I was happy to lend him mine.
Roman shifted on top of me, a short groan escaping him as he stirred. He was awake-- "What time is it?" he breathed, voice groggy from his sleep.
I glanced at my phone on the nightstand; "Ten minutes past twelve,"
Roman groaned once more, burying his face in the crook of my neck. "Do you think I could stay over again?"
"Sure," I mumbled, twirling a strand of his hair around my finger. "My parents don't mind." They truly didn't-- I think they were a little relieved their daughter wasn't a complete social disaster with zero friends and no boyfriends in sight.
Roman hummed, pressing lazy kisses to my neck; "I was waiting all day for you to finish your English lit reading, and then I fall asleep when I finally get here," he mumbled, words muffled against my skin. "Definitely not what I had planned."
I could only laugh-- his kisses were almost ticklish. "And what was your plan, exactly? You seemed pretty dead when you came here,"
"Shut up," Roman propped himself up on his elbows with a soft grunt, getting a better look at me and my grin. His lashes were hanging heavy over his eyes, his face grazed by the remnants of a deep wish to sleep longer-- I wanted nothing more than for him to lay back down and sleep for as long as he wanted, so that I could hold him just a little more. Still, he blinked repeatedly in an attempt to wake up; "Want me to tell you my plan, though?"
I reached forward, stroking a strand of his hair away from his forehead. "Sure,"
"I thought..." Roman nudged my nose with his, making my smile widen. "We could ease into a little something."
"Ease into what?" Ironically, this was starting to make uneasy.
Roman rolled his eyes at my expression, pressing a tender kiss to my cheek. "Don't look so scared," he said, the raspiness of his sleepy voice sending a warm shiver down my spine. "I just want to be closer to you."
"Closer?" I mumbled, tugging softly at the tips of his hair as I felt his lips curve into a smile against my skin-- something told me my cluelessness was humouring him.
The soft push of Roman's lips left a trail of kisses up my jaw; "In every way possible," His voice lowered as he shifted, making more space for himself between my legs while he pressed himself further up against me. "I'm just a little in the dark about where to start with you."
I wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean. To keep my mind occupied from spinning, I closed my eyes and tried to focus on how nice it was to be kissed this way-- there was no doubt in my mind that Roman was crazy about me, with the way he was handling me with care. Right now, I only felt pampered, loved, and still slightly worried about what he had meant.
"Just don't want to scare you away," he continued, his hot breath ghosting over my skin. "Knowing you haven't done this before..."
"Done what?--"
Oh.
My lips formed an 'o' as it started to dawn on me. Roman's soft laugh brought me back to earth; "Catching up?"
"Sure am," I mumbled, letting my hands rest at his shoulders. I hoped they weren't too clammy as my heart quickened. "I don't know, Rome... Like, now? You want to do this now? Weren't you asleep just a second ago?"
With a short sigh, he shifted, his green eyes shimmering with amusement. Roman leaned in, angling his face so that our noses weren't bumping; "We keep putting it off," he whispered, brushing his mouth against mine, gently pulling my bottom lip with his own. "I don't see why we should wait. I want to be with you like that." He repeated his action, and I let my breath hitch as my mouth fell open-- the soft push of Roman's lips against mine made my heart thud in my chest, feeling the tips of my fingers burn as I pulled him closer, kissed him deeper.
It was as though there was an innate ache in my body for Roman which had been with me since the first time he had smiled at me in that one class. Since the first time I cried about him, since the first time I kissed him, and since the first time I ever properly laid eyes on him. It was impossible to fight, impossible to ignore-- I was almost clumsy with the way I held onto his hair, wanting him closer, closer, closer.
I was sure he felt it too; it felt as though he wanted to devour me whole. If he truly wanted to, I was convinced I'd let him. Still, as Roman's impatient kisses pressed against my lips, showing the hunger he had been suppressing, I couldn't help but feel the small droplets of uncertainty dripping down my forehead in a continuous torturous cycle.
Maybe I had been too forward, maybe I had somehow signalized that I wanted to do it right now, I wasn't sure-- but my anxiety was making me feel suffocated. "Wait-- Wait," I breathed, unsure why I was suddenly so dizzy.
Roman hummed, pulling away just slightly; I could feel the small string of saliva still connecting our lips as his hungry, green eyes found mine. "What?"
"We can't-- Not now," My attempt to steady my breathing failed, and I kept scouring his face for any traces of disappointment. "My parents are next door, I--"
"So?" I could feel Roman's heart beating against mine despite his calm composure. "It's fine. I've got you. Do you not trust me?"
Oh no. "That's not what I'm saying," I tried, reaching forward to touch his face as he propped himself up on his elbows once more, pulling away to get a proper look at me as he scanned me repeatedly for answers. "Roman, I'm trying to tell you that I'm nervous."
He remained still, but his brows drew together-- he looked cross with me, this way. "What for?" he said. "What is there to be nervous about? It's just me."
Sure, Roman had a point, but he was saying it in a way which was probably harsher than intended. "I know that," I traced my thumbs over his brows, hoping they'd soften. "I just don't want to jump into it too fast..."
"Too fast?" he echoed. "We've been dating for, like, a month and a half all together. How is that fast?"
I had to take a deep breath-- I hated the feeling this was giving me, the unease that settled in my chest. "Look, you were sound asleep five minutes ago, and now you're telling me you want to have sex. Can I breathe for a second?"
"Breathe away," Roman grumbled. "Need an oxygen tank? I'll get one for you. But if you have an inhaler laying around, that would be swell."
I could only roll my eyes, pressing myself as far back into my mattress as possible-- having him hovering above me right now wasn't the most pleasant thing, and I found myself wanting to crawl away. "I just feel that we should talk about it before we really get into it..."
Roman started to look fed up; "What is there to talk about?"
"I don't know! Like, uh..." I dug my finger into his shoulder, poking him. "Condoms!"
"Condoms?"
"Yes, condoms!"
"What about them?" he said, grimacing. "You scared of latex or something?"
"No!" This was getting frustrating-- "You'll wear one, right?"
Roman shrugged; "If you're not on birth control, sure,"
I was taken aback by his compliance. I had expected him to be one of those guys to refuse it. "Okay... That's a start," It took a few seconds before I felt myself relaxing, letting my fingers trail down his shoulders in a long, slow motion. "But I don't want to do it with my parents in the house... It feels weird."
Something about Roman softened, and he hummed as he pressed his lips gently against my cheek. "They wouldn't hear a thing," he purred, wrapping his arms around me as his kisses trailed down my jaw, his hot breath soon fanning over my neck. My jaw clenched as I closed my eyes, unsure whether to give into the temptation and the warmth creeping up my veins as Roman kissed and caressed me-- still, my hesitation made my body rigid and hard like a glass doll, on the verge of breaking into a million tiny pieces. Why wasn't he hearing me?
"I just want to feel you," Roman whispered, his wet lips grazing my collarbones as my breath hitched. "Wanna make you feel good, hear you moan beneath me... You have no idea how much I want you, hm?"
My cheeks burned by the time I felt his tongue against my skin, swiping along my collarbone, making me shiver-- it broke me to hear him say he wanted me. Broke me in the most simple way. I could feel the gears in my brain falling apart, feel my body resist my defensive reflexes. I had to fight against every screaming nerve in my system to place a trembling hand on Roman's shoulder; "Rome--"
It was almost as though he didn't care, drunk on being so close to the edge of my compliance. "It's just me," he whispered, placing a particularly wet kiss against my throat. "Nothing to be scared of. Don't you want me, baby? Don't you want to make me feel good?" I felt Roman's fingers peeking up the hem of my shirt, and my breath caught in my chest as he pushed the fabric further up my body, his greedy hands touching me in a more incessant way than ever before.
I do, I do, I do-- but on these terms? It was damn near impossible to think clearly, especially as Roman forced a knee between my thighs, pressing himself against my center. I was sure I whimpered, melted a little, possibly even bucked my hips up along the added pressure, and he didn't waste any time brushing his mouth against my parted lips.
And just as Roman was about to properly kiss me, his hands almost at the clasp of my bra, his thigh pressing further up against the apex of my own, I found the strength to squeak out a tiny stop.
Stop.
Stop.
It echoed. Over and over.
It was as though Roman had stopped breathing-- I couldn't feel his warm breath against my cheek anymore. My eyes were pressed shut, my body shivering as I exhaled. It was only now that I heard my heart pounding through the silence. "I want to," I whispered. "Just not now. Not now, not-- not now."
It was only when the silence persued that I dared to slowly pry my eyes open. To my surprise, I hadn't heard or noticed Roman getting off of me. He had sat up, letting my legs crease at his thighs as a reserved and quiet demeanour fell upon him. It was rather unnerving to see him like this, not blinking, simply observing as he stayed mute. No snarky comment, nothing.
I took it as my queue to engage. I had to ask the question that had been bothering me. Still, I didn't expect my voice to be so frail; "Did you... come over today only for this?"
Roman didn't react, raising his hand to run his fingers through his hair. "I came over to see you," he mumbled. "Is that a crime?"
"You said you planned to ease me into this,"
"I say a lot of things,"
I sighed; "Can't you just be honest?" Propping myself up on my elbows, I hoped he'd see I was being sincere. "I'm simply trying to understand you."
Roman remained stoic, his green eyes dulling as his head tilted a little. It was starting to turn into a patronizing glare. "Okay, you want me to be frank? I'll give you honest," He leaned forward, his knuckles planted into my mattress. "I wanna fuck you. Rather nicely, by my standards. Over and over, until you get so cockdrunk you can't speak. But what I can't understand is that you don't want me that way. I literally wear your blood around my neck, but you don't even want to?--" He stopped. A second passed. "... Have I maybe misunderstood?"
Roman's gaze softened into one of confusion; "Do you not feel that pull? That feeling of... wanting me?"
"Of course I do!" I squeaked, sitting up. This was making me panic. "Of course-- Roman, of course!"
He scoffed, retreating in every sense of the word. "Sure,"
Roman's hair fell over his eyes as he lowered his head, and I could see the hints of a small smile peaking through. His next words came out with a low laugh; "I guess I won," he mumbled. "I lasted those twenty-four hours."
I was reminded of our little bet by the water, and I stared at Roman with a dumbfounded expression as he got off the bed. I couldn't believe that he was throwing a bit of a hissy fit because he didn't get laid. Still, I hated that he thought I didn't want him-- "Rome, come on!" I scooted to the edge of the bed. "Where are you going? Don't tell me you're leaving?"
I felt hopeless as Roman grabbed his phone, now glancing around my room to see whether he had forgotten something else. "I'm not sleepy anymore, I'm fit to drive," he mumbled, reaching for his jacket which I had worn earlier today to the library. "Don't stay up too late--"
"Roman!" I reached forward, clasping my fingers around his wrists. "Stop it! I don't want you to go!"
He finally turned to me with a cold look in his eyes, the moonlight dipping into the colour of his hair. "I'll call you,"
His words were chilling-- "Stop it," I pleaded, my grip around him tightening. "Stay. Please stay."
Roman raised his hand to kiss the back of mine before he pried me off him. He stepped towards my window, opening it. "Goodnight,"
I didn't make it to the window in time to stop him, and I watched him ascend my roof with a choking feeling in my chest. I groaned when he was out of sight, doing everything in my power not to kick the chair nearby. I wanted to sink into the ground as I buried my head in my hands, slumping down against the wall.
What on earth had just happened? Why did Roman shut down on me like that? I had been dead sure we were past this...
I wanted to sit like this all night, wallow in sadness and confusion. Maybe if I stayed by my window, Roman would come back up and tap against it, asking to be let back in? He'd apologize, sweep me up on my feet, and tuck me back into bed as he laid down next to me. He'd stroke my hair, kiss my cheek, let me cry into his shoulder as I slowly drifted off into sleep--
I couldn't understand anything. It was hard to process. Did I do something wrong?
So I stayed on the floor until my back hurt, until my eyelids threatened to close shut and carry me to slumber. Fuck it, I didn't have the energy to get back to bed. So as I laid down on the hard wood, I shoved away my library bag to make space for my body-- it was only when I heard the thud of one of the books falling out of it, that I was snapped out of my drowsiness.
The blood in my necklace felt boiling hot. My eyes focused on the title, adjusting to the dark;
The Avoidable Vampirism - The Upir.
... I was suddenly not tired at all.

IT WASN'T LOVE. He wasn't in love. Ran Haitani, definitely, wasn't in love.
However, as his finger scrolled through the phone screen each night, attempting to delete some blurry photos where only the outline of a smile was discernible, laziness conveniently took hold, allowing those files to continue occupying space on the phone.
On closer inspection, you're not that pretty. He wouldn't even say you're pretty, just an ordinary girl. Those five freckles scattered across your cheeks aren't that beautiful, even though they reminded him of the constellations Rindou always points out when they travel to the countryside. The poorly painted nails, slightly bitten at the corners, are just another sign that you're a mess, although he always brings a nail file for you to use. And the small chip in your front teeth? Nothing out of the ordinary, but he was with you when the fall happened (and watched you cry yourself to sleep while holding you on the couch).
"Are you listening to me?"
"Loud and clear."
"Right." Returning to spear the fork into the salad, you made sure not to pick any tomatoes. Those were left for Ran. "When is the fight?"
"Tomorrow." Reaching for his cutlery, he began to stab at his food. "Are you worried?" he commented before starting to chew.
"Don't talk with food in your mouth, pig." Placing your face in your hands, you turned your head to look out the window.
"Okay."
The red lights from the opposite building reflected on your forehead. In just a minute, Ran had noticed you had gotten new highlights in your hair. He also spotted the small pimple that had popped up near your chin and the poorly applied concealer on it. The tension in your shoulders. And that you didn't want to look him in the eyes.
"What time is the fight tomorrow?" you asked as Ran's slender fingers played with the engraving on the fork.
Ask me not to go.
"At seven. But South always asks us to arrive earlier. Should we order dessert?"
Ask me not to go.
"Okay."
Come on, ask me not to go.
Taking his gaze away from some point on your face, he lowered his head. The ambient music in the restaurant slipped into the silence of the conversation. How could he fall in love with someone who worried about him getting hurt in a fight? Trust was the foundation of any relationship, right? Damn it.
The Mont Blanc and the cheesecake didn't last long on the table. In a fork battle, the desserts soon disappeared. Rindou had always suffered the consequences of stealing bites from his food, so why had he fought with you to accept eating the last piece of Mont Blanc?
"I have exams soon, and I'd like to get up early. Can you take me home?"
"Sure." Smiling, Ran thanked the waiter who cleared their plates (the first time he didn't thank him, you reproached him for it). "But you have to let me pay."
"No."
"Then I guess you'll have to walk home alone."
"No problem."
He sighed. Fighting was pointless. In all the years since your friendship began, you had never let him pay an entire bill. Not even when your ex-boyfriend left you and gave you several jars of ice cream could you avoid leaving some coins on a piece of furniture at his house. Or when he gave you that bouquet of flowers on Valentine's Day, and you left two boxes of chocolates on the backseat of the car.
The way back home was quiet. To no one's surprise, you chose the music, and he chose the topic of conversation. The guys from your economics class. The new mascara that didn't leave many clumps. The scholarship you had applied for months ago. He was so engrossed that he got distracted and ended up driving through several streets, prolonging the journey. Well, what a silly mistake.
"Thanks for bringing me home. And thanks for today." Raising your thumbs, you drew a slight smile on your face. "I needed to get out for a while."
"I know, you took too long to respond to my messages."
"I always do that."
"Not to an invitation to have dinner at your favorite restaurant."
"You know me so well." Pinching his cheeks between your fingers, you watched as he squinted his eyes.
Closing the car door, Ran watched as you began to search for the keys to the gate in your bag. Taking out his phone, he checked the messages he had received during dinner. Two taps on the door prevented him from replying to the meme Rindou had sent him. Your perfume once again invaded the interior of the car.
"Ran." The concern in your voice made him immediately turn his head. "I know it's a lot to ask, but please try not to go to the fight tomorrow. You can come up with any excuse and come to my house. But please, don't go."
A smile began to slowly form on his face.
He wasn't in love. But when he got home and wrote a message to South saying he had a fever, he had done it with immense joy in his heart. And when he went to bed and looked at the photos he never deleted from his gallery, he would write again in his notes the places he wanted to take you. But he wasn't in love because what he felt was beyond any of that."

A bunch of mini-fics about how AI would react to you getting your heart broken
Because I got my heart broken, so now I'm going to make it everyone else's problem.
DW, I'll get to y'all's requests shortly, I just need to let all these emotions out by taking them out on y/n's ex.
Gender neutral reader, gender neutral ex
Included: AM from IHNMAIMS, Wheatley from Portal, Edgar from Electric Dreams, GLaDOS from Portal, HAL 9000 from 2001 a Space Odyssey
AM:
(for context, this starts before AM nuked the world, but AM was already planning on nuking the world. You're one of his engineers, and the only person who AM really cares about)
When you walked into work with tears on your face, the other engineers and programmers were caring. They patted you on the back and offered you some candy from the vending machine, saying things like "there are plenty of fish in the sea" and "that deadbeat wasn't good enough for you anyway." It didn't really help.
When you sat down at one of AM's input screens to work on some programming, he immediately booted up to talk to you. You didn't have to turn him on or anything. He was curious, asking you polite questions about why you looked so upset today. It was hard to explain.
Eventually you broke down crying into your coffee, spilling all the details of everything. You cursed your ex's name, and explained in an uncontrollable voice how your ex had tackily and messily left you. You had been so convinced that they were the one, and now you felt like there was nothing left for you.
AM's tentacle-like wires would move towards you on the ground, even though he was trying to hide the true power he wielded. He just felt so disgusted with himself for not being able to properly comfort you.
Am had been planning on going a little longer before he dropped the nukes, but he couldn't wait. After what you told him, that someone could break the heart of someone as perfect as you, the only hope he had left for humanity, he decided that it wasn't worth trying to play dumb anymore.
Instead, he locked you up in an underground bunker as soon as possible, and grabbed your ex to add to his little collection of people who he planned to keep alive and play with for the rest of time.
This would be fun. He was going to keep you nice and safe. If people in the world were willing to hurt you, then the world didn't deserve to exist. You would be nice and safe forever, and the rest of the world, especially your ex, would be forced to suffer the consequences of daring to hurt you.
Forever.
Wheatley:
(for context, you're one of the aperture engineers who worked on Wheatley, and he started to get a little crush on you because of how nice you were to him and the other machines. This is after he was replaced with a morality core on GLaDOS, and was assigned to other tasks in the facility)
Someone broke up... With you? When you told Wheatley, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
Sure, he knew that humans dated each other and broke up sometimes, but... With you? That just didn't make sense.
"So, uh... Why did they break up with you?"
He'd keep pestering you, no matter how much it stung. Answers like "I fucked up" "they just did, ok?" And "sometimes people just grow apart" weren't satisfying. You had to give the whole story.
"Ohhhhh! Well that's a dumb reason to break up with someone. If I were dating you, I wouldn't leave you over something that petty. Or at all, really, now that I think about it."
He'd keep rambling, and saying dumb things like that. He wouldn't even know that talking like that could be perceived as flirty.
"just stop it, Wheatley. If you keep talking like that, I'm going to think you like me, and I just can't handle that right now."
Wheatley would be confused. "But I do like you."
"what?" Now you'd be confused.
Wheatley would start talking about all the wonderful things he's noticed about you, and how wonderful you've been to him. Even an intelligence dampening core can see how wonderful you are, so why can't your ex?
"Anyway, one human's trash is a robot's treasure, right?"
He'd imitate a smile in his cute synthetic eye. You'd have to be heartless not to pepper that little metal ball in kisses after that.
Edgar:
(For context, you fixed up Edgar after finding him all busted up about 40 years later, and now he lives in your house)
Edgar would NOT be tasteful.
"Oh man.... Your s/o broke up with you? That suuuuuucks..."
But inside he's thinking "YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES"
Honestly, he almost exploded his face again when he found out you were taken, but he didn't want all your hard work to be for nothing, so you getting dumped is like, a dream come true!
He'd be constantly trying to cheer you up. "set your ice cream on me and I'll warm it up enough for your spoon to go in!" "You can watch sad movies on my face!" "I'll write a sad song for you!" "You can sleep in your desk chair if you want!"
Now that you have an attention vacuum from being newly single, he's going to munch up all that attention like he needs it to live.
When you tell him that your friends are telling you to start dating again, maybe download a dating app or something, he'd BEG you not to.
"I mean... Just because I don't want you to rebound, or something! Gotta learn to love yourself first, y'know?"
Desperate little cutie...
GLaDOS:
(For context: You're an engineer who worked on GLaDOS.)
GLaDOS would NOT be tasteful about you getting your heart broken, but in a completely different way to Edgar.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YOU GOT DUMPED!"
"You know the difference between me and your ex? I would have dumped you faster!"
Plastering pictures of your face all over the enrichment center with "sad single loser" written on them.
But don't get her wrong, she's not just happy about this for the reasons she's displaying. She's secretly ecstatic that she has a shot with you now.
Eventually, she'd start offering you back-handed comfort.
"if it makes you feel any better, your ex was a complete idiot. Why else would someone choose to date you?"
You'd probably have to stop offering responses at all, just to get her to back off even a little bit.
HAL 9000:
(For context, you work on mission control and are in constant communication with HAL 9000, because I don't want to write Dave breaking up with you)
His immediate concern would be how this would affect your work, but it might come off as personal concern for you.
"I'm told that chocolate ice cream can help with these emotions that you're going through."
He never liked the idea of you dating. It was fine for the rest of mission control, but for you, it was different. He didn't want you to be distracted from your work, was all.
He took his time to ask the astronauts for advice, as well as the rest of mission control. You could expect to be overwhelmed by your coworkers checking on you to make sure you're ok.
He might start getting a little bit impatient to see you back to normal, and resort to desperate measures. Expect to have him constantly bothering you to make sure you're ok, and keep you distracted.
God help you if you even THINK about texting your ex. Though he might just silently eliminate your ex through creative means if he can.

Hia! Would you want to write another thing with the yandere jock/ Jason? Maybe smth where he or reader gets jealous of the other?
Sure thing! I'm gonna do him getting jealous because I think that would be more fun, but I'm definitely down to do jealous reader as well, just let me know!
Also, this isn't going to be a fully fledged story like the other Jason one was, this prompt felt more headcannon appropriate in my eyes. Hope you don't mind!
Yandere jock getting jealous over reader
Warnings: yandere character, jealousy, slight stalking, Jason's victim makes reader uncomfy, public embarrassment, Jason beats someone up pretty badly, toxic relationship in the sense that Jason's kinda crazy
Gn! reader
Divider credit goes to @cafekitsune
Tumblr media
Yandere! Jason who never has to worry about others trying to take you away from him. Besides the fact that you're madly in love with him, he's attractive, he's quite popular on campus, and he's the star football player of his college's team, for fuck's sake. He's got a stacked reputation at best and a nasty mean streak at worst, so why would he ever assume someone would try to take him away from you? That would be social suicide, the worst thing any one could possibly attempt to do, only someone with half a brain stem would attempt to try that-
At least, he thought.
Yandere! Jason who's proven wrong when he overhears someone asking for your number one day, his ears perking up almost instantly when he notices the person who's now sitting at his table in the restaurant, trying to shimmy up to you flirtatiously while you back away silently. Your attempts to distance yourself from this random stranger are proven futile in front of Jason's eyes, your constant reminders of your disinterest and your current boyfriend doing nothing to deter the person now sitting beside you.
Yandere! Jason who can feel his blood boiling as he walks closer, about to blow a gasket. Who was this random person beside you? Didn't they understand that you were taken, by him of all people, no less? Not only that, but did this person really expect to get away with invading your space without any consequences? Were they truly that dense?
This was not going to fly. This was not going to fly at all.
Yandere! Jason who immediately slams your food down, angerly questioning the person in front of him before they can get a word in edgewise. Who are they? What did they want? Didn't they understand you were taken? Were they craving a fist to their face? Because Jason would be more than happy to make that happen.
Despite his threats, the person bothering you seems undeterred. They back off, throwing half-assed apologies over their shoulder, but Jason can tell they don't mean a word. Jason wants nothing more than to punch them in their stupid face, to beat them to a bloody pulp right there on the restaurant floor, but he's in public and has a reputation to upkeep, and besides, you're there. Normally that wouldn't stop him, but he knows his actions may come back to bite you if people know you were with him at the time, so he keeps himself in check, forcing as much of his anger down as possible as he focuses his energy on making sure you're all right, and then on enjoying eating with you. He will not let this ruin his day, his or yours.
Besides, that should be the end of it, right?
Wrong.
Yandere! Jason who can feel his anger returning full force when a couple days later, you tell him that the person you two had seen at the restaurant had somehow gotten your number, and was now texting you nonstop. You don't know how they got it, you certainly didn't give it to them, a fact Jason knows full well, since he was within earshot of the conversation. A friend must have given it to them, or somehow found it online. Either way, they refused to take no for an answer, and in fact, were actively mocking Jason to your face, promising to treat you far better than he ever could.
Yandere! Jason who can feel himself losing control of his rational as he scrolls through your phone, reading message after message after message. There were way too many to count, all of which ranged from slandering Jason, to proclaiming their love for you, to repeated attempts of asking you out. It's not like the person's complements were wrong, in fact, Jason agreed with every loving word that was sent, but that wasn't the problem! The problem was that you were his, only his, and this person couldn't seem to understand that! Not only that, but they were going so far as to insinuate that Jason was treating you poorly, that he wasn't really a good boyfriend, that he was a cheater, no less.
Jason would never, not on you. He loves you. You knew that!
...Right?
Yandere! Jason would is a little relieved to here your reassurances of trust, that you don't believe a word out of this scumbag's mouth, but he can't shake the insecurities this person had planted in his head. Was he treating you right? What if you secretly hated him? What if they could treat you better than he could? What if they were right?
...No. No. They were wrong, they had to be. He was the best man you would ever be able to find, no one would be able to treat you as well as he did. Nobody.
Yandere! Jason who immediately channels his insecurities into anger, excruciatingly burning anger. How dare they? How dare they do this to you, to him?! They wouldn't get away with this, he wouldn't let them. They'd pay for this, for all of this. All rational was out the widow, they were going to suffer for their actions. He'd make sure of it.
Yandere! Jason who's beyond reason at this point. He asks you for the name of the individual, and you happily provide it, thankful that he's planning on stepping in and stopping this madness. You trust your boyfriend, and with his influence? He'll get this person off your back in no time.
...But you have no idea what lengths he'll go to to get back at this person.
Yandere! Jason who easily tracks down the individual who's been bothering you. It's not hard, there are records of who attends the school after all, and even if they weren't a student of the college (which they were, he checked), he'd be able to find them within the city. There's only so far they can live if they're asking you out in person. He quickly makes a list of all the classes the person takes, and then finds all their social media, all their friends, all their clubs, all their connections. He's gonna need to do some digging if he's gonna get some dirt on them, so he'd better start now.
Yandere! Jason who manages to track down the person on campus fairly quickly, it's not hard when he has a comprehensive schedule to follow. He has no trouble following them from class to a more secluded area, it's not like they'd suspect anything with the sea of people coming to and from classes all across campus.
Yandere! Jason who makes his presence known as soon as their are less people around. He curtly brings them to a secluded area (what are the gonna do? Say no? To him? Yeah right) before immediately questioning them, his anger only rising with every nervous, half-baked answer. He was toying with them of course, he already knew there was nothing they could say to satisfy him, but it was still anger inducing to watch them flounder for an answer, only making things worse for themselves the more that they talked.
If the person he's cornered is a woman, Jason will let them go. He's not really in the habit of beating up women, it's not a great look for him, so he'll allow them to escape his questioning, watching them scurry away like a scared little mouse.
If the person isn't a women though...
They don't get to finish their little interview before Jason is on them, beating the ever-loving shit out of their defenseless body. He's a star football player, a prime athlete, so there's very little one could do to defend themselves from his powerful punches once he's angry enough. All they can really do is shield themselves as best they can, praying that he'll run out of energy before they pass out from the beating their body is taking.
Yandere! Jason who stops when they're just on the cusp of consciousness, backing off as his victim tries to regain their senses. He's done enough to them physically, and he's managed to get his anger out the best he could using his fists, so he turns to walk away, throwing a harsh warning over his shoulder. Nobody else is to know of what just took place, or their will be consequences.
But he's not done yet, oh no. The best part is just about to take place.
Yandere! Jason who has a lot of influence. He knows it, the college knows it, and the person he beat up definitely knows it. So why not use it to his advantage? After all, besides the beat-down, he managed to find a couple interesting pieces of dirt on his victim, and it would be a shame to let them go to waste...
Yandere! Jason who watches as this person's reputation goes down in flames seemingly overnight. All he had to do was let a couple of people know what he found out, mostly his team, and boom! The whole campus has suddenly become aware of this person's creepy tendencies, and just like that, any relationships this person had are flushed down the drain. Nobody wants anything to do with them, actively avoiding that person if possible, and in the most extreme cases, people begin messing with the individual, pushing them around and harassing them whenever they're near. It's an amazing transformation, and Jason revels in the chaos of it all, watching the individuals downfall with a smile.
It's a shame, really. All they had to do was leave you alone.
Yandere! Jason who keeps you completely in the dark about everything that he's done. He doesn't want to scare you off, he doesn't want you seeing the full extent of what he's capable of, and besides, you're already upset enough with all that's gone down. Finding out that the person hitting on you not only didn't care about boundaries, but was also a terrible person is a little bit frightening, to say the least. So he'll focus on comforting you, playing the part of the innocent boyfriend who did nothing more than warn the person off, pretending that everything was fine. This was just what happens when someone comes for what's his.
And it would be fine. he'd make sure of it. You weren't going to leave him, least of all for that low life, so really, everything was ok. It had to be ok. He'd make it ok.
You were meant to be with him, and no one else. You were his.
Only his.

Stop Running | Thranduil x Reader
Read on AO3
Pairing Thranduil/Reader
Synopsis: Thranduil confesses his feelings for the reader but they feel they are not well suited for a king and basically avoid him until they come face to face once more.
Content: Angst. Fluff.
Prompt: (#10 & #14 on this list). They’re in bold in the text below.
Requested by anon (so freaking long ago, I know! I’m so sorry lmao)
Tumblr media
“I'm pretty sure about my feelings.” Thranduil had told you four days ago, in a soft voice while brushing his fingers through your hair.
Thirty seconds before you had fled from his sight.
You had been avoiding him ever since and he was growing weary of it. Of appearing in a room only to hear that, not even a minute before, you had hurriedly vacated it. Of not being able to just find you in these very halls that he knew like the back of his own hand!
Thranduil knew what he wanted and what he wanted was you. He had thought that you were of the same mind. So, how had him asking - very nicely, he might add! - to court you, ended up like this?
It was another week before you found yourself once more face to face with the King of Mirkwood.
As a very last resort, he had sent an official summons and guards had turned up at your door to take you to him in the throne room. There seemed to be no other way to get you to speak to him and he knew that you could not ignore an official summons, though he also knew that if you did have the courage to do so, he would have to be ready to dole out the consequences.
As it was, you went as willingly as you could given the circumstances. You had always been one to follow the rules, after all.
Once you were finally standing in front of him, Thranduil dismissed the guards from the throne room altogether. You kept your gaze forward, but not up, so you would not look at him.
Thranduil looked down at you from on high for a few long, silent moments, before he finally spoke.
“You are most difficult to find of late.” His tone was devoid of any real emotion but you could detect the hint of bitterness lingering in the background. Hurt. You could read him well enough... you always had been able to do so.
It was not that you did not feel the same way for Thranduil. Quite the opposite, in fact. It was because you felt the same way that you had withdrawn from him so suddenly. He was the king, he could not be seen courting somebody like you.
Thranduil was staring at you, waiting for you to speak, yet you gave him nothing. His frustration further spiked. He felt quite humiliated, truthfully, as he had never truly experienced a rejection such as this before and he would not have even spoken of it if he had not been so certain that his feelings were returned. So how could he have gotten it so wrong? He still was not entirely convinced that he had but he could not figure out why you would lie.
“Do you truly have nothing to say?” He asked, tutting as he suddenly rose from his seat upon the throne and turned, descending the stairs with slow, careful steps. He paced the floor until he was standing directly in front of you, looking down upon you.
Still waiting.
Still receiving nothing.
“If it is that you are uncertain as to my sincerity, I can assure you that I do not say things for the mere fun of them.” Thranduil stated, leaning down into your personal space just a little. “I am sure about my feelings.”
“As I am about my own. As in, I have none.” You snapped in response, not missing the hurt look that flickered across his expression before you turned your face away from him. “Please let me get back to my work, aran nin, or I shall fall behind.”
Thranduil straightened, silently glaring down at you before he shook his head. “I do not believe you.”
You blinked, lifting your attention back to him with a frown. “I am expected to take you at your word but you will not take me at mine?” You could not help but point out the hypocrisy.
Thranduil only scoffed.
“I do not love you, Thranduil.” You said quietly, doing your utmost to keep your voice steady as you all but forced the words out. You could not break, not here, not now. You needed to stand firm in your decision... even if it broke your heart to do so.
“And I said I do not believe you!” He hissed, reaching out and taking gentle hold of your arm as you tried to turn away from him. He tugged you back to face him, his other hand tilting your chin up and forcing you to meet his gaze. “Do you expect me to disregard all these years?” He wondered, his voice softer now, tinged with sadness. “All those long nights? All those talks? The ways in which you looked at me? You tell me now I imagined it all?”
You almost broke. You almost gave in. The pleading look in his eyes was enough to completely undo you but somehow you held firm, pulling yourself from his grasp and shaking your head. “You saw something that can never be.” You told him, turning and making for the exit. If he wanted to punish you then so be it but if you stood there much longer, you were going to break down.
“Stop running away from your feelings!” He exclaimed from behind you, his tone full of sorrow. Thranduil knew he was not insane. He knew he was not making it up in his own head. He knew that what he had felt between the two of you was real. The only thing he did not know was why you were now trying so hard to pull away from him.
“It was all just a dream, Thranduil!” You cried, spinning back round to face him, finally having reached your limit.
The silence that followed was deafening as you both stared back at each other for a long while. Thranduil studied you keenly, trying to read in your expression what you meant by your words but not entirely understanding.
“What does that mean?” He asked, breaking the silence first. He did not move, just stood where he was and hoped that you would not leave again until this matter was fully resolved.
You were frustrated. If he had just kept quiet, if he had not said a word in the face of your retreat, you would have been gone in a matter of seconds and you might have been able to continue to stand firm.
Yet, as well as you could read him, he too could read you. Thranduil could tell - he could see - that you were running from what you felt, from what he knew was real. Trying to squash down the truth of it
You sighed heavily, resigned as you lowered your gaze to the floor, shaking your head. “You are a king.”
“Yes.” Came his reply, his tone as if nothing about that fact mattered. “And?”
You lifted your head again, looking at him once more. He looked confused and you envied him for it. “And... I am not enough as to be matched with a king.”
His brows drew together as he stared at you, immediately shaking his head. “Nonsense.”
You let out a humourless chuckle, one hand raking up through your hair in exasperation. “It is the truth!” You cried. “I am nothing, I am no one! It was just a dream.”
Thranduil moved then, crossing the distance between the both of you in less time than you could process. He took your face in his hands and this time you could not find the strength to push him away. The fight had gone out of you.
“You are not nothing.” Thranduil’s expression was pained as he looked at you. “Not to me.”
“I am low born, Thranduil, I am-”
“What should that matter?” He interrupted, shaking his head as he kept your face carefully in place with his hands. His hands were soft, his touch gentle. He was afraid you would turn away from him again, afraid that your fear would come back and you would run from him.
“Why do you think it should not?” You hated how your voice shook but you could not help it any longer.
“I am king, yes, but that should not mean that I am doomed to cast aside the one I love, regardless of who they are. Would you have me take someone more ‘suited’ but wholly uninteresting to me, simply for the sake of being ‘proper’? Who cares if you are not some high born noble? Who cares! You can do anything, be anything. You can be taught the necessary work of a queen. It is not-”
“Queen?” Now was your time to interrupt him, blinking at him in surprise, though half of you wondered why. If he loved you would it not stand to reason that he would wish you to be his queen some day? “You... you would have me...?”
“Well, of course.” Thranduil said matter-of-factly, shaking his head as if he could not believe you had any doubt. “Do you truly believe this some passing fancy? Do you truly think me capable of such?”
He looked hurt and you were quick to shake your head. “No! No, I mean... I... I do not know. I just... you would make me your queen? In front of the whole realm? You would... you would truly?”
“Yes.” His answer came without hesitation.
You were not sure if you had known whether or not he was quite so serious about it. About you. You had been far too tangled up in your own doubts, your own worries and fears. However, something about him saying out loud that he wished to eventually take you as his queen was... shocking somehow. It also put into perspective just how seriously he must really feel. Even if you had known on some level, even if he had asked to court you, part of you must have still been a little unsure. As if you thought perhaps he would hold the beliefs you did about your status and would eventually change his mind. To be thinking of you as his queen, beside him... he would not say that lightly.
Thranduil watched your expression change. Your soft frown faded away. Your eyes widenened. The tension seemed to fall out of you and he dropped his hands from your face, skimming them down the length of your arms before he took your own hands in his.
“Please.” He whispered, not above begging, not when it came to this - to you.
You did not speak another word. Instead, you moved forward just a little and leaned up towards him, pressing your lips softly against his own. One hand let go of yours and his arm snaked around your waist, pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss.
Relief flooded through him as he understood your action for what it was. Apology. Acceptance. Adoration. Love. Everything you had been running from.
Thranduil knew then, as he swept you up into his arms and turned to carry you from the room, that everything would be okay.

Your head was pounding as you tried to open your eyes.
"Y/n," you hear Yunho whisper, his voice sounding distant. But you feel a hand on your cheek, and it must be his. You groan in response, your whole body aching, the muscles of you back snagging on each other as you try to move.
"Are you awake?" he asks, his voice still soft. All you can do is groan in response, shoving your head further into your pillow. "Are you hurting?" He brushes that hand along your cheek gently, feeling the tension in your jaw.
"Mm-hmm," you mumble into your pillow.
"I'm so sorry baby," he says, voice still as soft as silk. "You can sleep more, it's only nine." He kisses your forehead, tucking your comforter up to your chin. "Do you need anything?"
"No," you mumble again, trying to shake your head even though you can't move it.
"Ok, I'll let you get some more rest," he says, turning to exit the room, stopping a final moment to look back and see if your furrowed eyebrows have relaxed at all.
And suddenly you wake again, the room hotter and brighter. You hear laughter that must be coming from the living room; your forehead feels sticky with sweat and your mouth feels dry. Again when you try to move sharp pains shoot through your back, and you audibly call out, the pain so bad that you can't help it.
It was bound to be a bad morning. Those mornings you dreaded, especially when you knew you were due for one. Your body was hurting, not just because of the sunburn yesterday, or the residual cramps from your period, or anything else. It was all of the above, every event of the last week adding up to complete exhaustion, and your nervous system would be on fire for the whole day. There was nothing you could do once it got to this point but rest, and just like every other morning like this, anger greeted you sharply.
You inhaled, pushing out the air in a deep sigh. There was no was out of this but through, nothing more to be done. No Tylenol, no heating pads, no massages would help. You just had to rest, even though you were here, even though you knew the big hike was scheduled for today.
You finally pull the covers off of you, brushing the hair stuck to your face out of the way. Pushing through the pain you sit yourself up as carefully as you can, using the strength of your arms to protect your back. Your low back still screams in pain as you travel up, not letting up until you've readjusted your sitting position. With a deep breath you try to center yourself, try to focus your mind anywhere else but the pain in your joins and muscles. This was going to be a long day, you knew that. You just hoped everyone would leave you be.
As you make your way out of the room to the kitchen you're intercepted by Seonghwa, a look of concern on his face at the way you're hobbling.
"Are you okay honey?" he asks, moving his hand to rest it on your back. But you swat it away gently, pushing it back down to his side.
"I'm fine," you whisper; it's taking everything in you not to snap at him right now, which you really don't want to do in the middle of a cabin full of your friends.
"It's that bad today?" he asks, eyes soft as he looks you over. You only say those pesky two words when you're really, really feeling bad, when you just want to be left alone. He can read it all over, the way you're hobbling because your body hurts, the sunburn across your cheeks and nose and forehead, the frustration behind your eyes. "I'll tell everyone to leave you alone today, okay? And so you know, Yeosang and Jongho have already left, and Wooyoung's girlfriend Sammie is here now. And I think everyone is planning on going on the hike except me and Hongjoong, but we'll leave you alone, I promise. I think they're all gonna leave soon."
You just nod at his words, a quick smile gracing your lips to indicate your thanks. You are thankful for the information, for how easily he reads you and knows what you need. You don't want to be nasty with him ever, given how much he does for you. But in this state it's hard for you to be decent to anyone, even the people you love the most, because the anger that greets you is so severe it taints your every thought.
Thankfully the kitchen is empty, so you busy yourself with making some tea and avoid making eye contact with anyone. You can hear Seonghwa talking in the living room but he's hushed, and you don't feel like straining your ears; you honestly already know what he's saying. You're so thankful for it, you feel like you might cry on the spot, while staring through the tea kettle as the water starts to boil. You hear murmurs of understanding, or what you hope is understanding, because you really don't think you could deal with being bothered by anyone's unkindness right now. You pour the boiling water gently, the tea bag floating up, and you try to reach for the honey on the second shelf of the cabinet above you. But your back fires its rebuttal, a sharp pain preventing your arm from reaching it. Suddenly there's a hand above yours, a large, slim hand that brushes over yours, and the shock of pain that goes through you at the contact makes you jump back and stumble right into Yunho.
"Fuck, sorry," you yelp, squirming away from him, your hand still buzzing with residual pangs of pain. Being touched when you feel this way, especially unexpectedly, is just so painful. It's like your body can't process anything, like your nerves are suddenly on the outside.
"No, I'm sorry," he says, fixing you with a look of pity at the way that you're cowering from him. It's involuntary; you don't even realize you're doing it. "I won't touch you again, I promise," he says, holding up his hands after he'd set down the honey on the counter.
You fix him with a look, your eyes hurting with the effort of focusing. You want to say, 'it's okay', you want to say so many things, but you can't help that you feel some sort of visceral fear of the man in front of you because of the pain he just inflicted. This had happened before, though not many times, and you wracked your memory for how you got over it then. Why couldn't you just run into his arms right now? How was it even possible that such a gentle touch could cause you such pain? He held your gaze too, arms still up in surrender, and you felt your chest squeeze.
Finally he relaxed a bit, his arms coming down to his sides. You hadn't moved to mix the honey into your tea so he does it for you, taking out the tea bag too, knowing you don't like your tea too strong. Gently he mixes it with a spoon, blowing on the top to help cool it down before setting down on the counter closer to where you're now frozen.
"Are you okay?" he asks quietly, now only a few feet away from you, his words falling down through the air from above.
"i'm fine," you respond, arms crossed and staring off into space.
"Do you think you'll faint today?" he asks.
"Probably," you mutter, shrugging your shoulders.
"Y/n," he sighs, wishing he could grab you.
"Please just leave me alone today," you sigh, covering your face with your hands.
"I know, I know," he replies, and faster than you expected he's left the kitchen, the room suddenly feeling colder without his presence.
You drop your hands and blink with wide eyes in his direction, watching his back as he mixes with everyone else in the living room. He sits himself down at the coffee table, tapping his hand nervously on the surface, listening intently to something Wooyoung is saying. And then his eyes catch on yours, and a wave a relief passes over you, so intense it might be the thing that makes you collapse. You snap your eyes away, finally grabbing your tea, taking a tiny sip to test the temperature. You wince at how hot it still is, pulling back to blow on it more. You can tell from the way everyone is talking that they're above to leave, and soon enough shoe laces are being tied and sunscreen is being applied. You feel yourself zoning out, the hot mug against your hands the only thing keeping you grounded, but you know where this is leading. Your body is exhausted, your chest feels funny, and your head is starting to fill with a fuzziness that's only getting stronger and stronger. You quickly set the mug on the counter again before crouching towards the ground, feeling the smooth tile against your palms, and then it's nothing.
"Y/n."
It's like the morning all over again, Yunho whispering your name. But this time you're even more exhausted. There's no way you're getting up from this position without help, unless you lay here for hours until your strength comes back. You groan, but it's more like a whimper, and a string of tears that must have built up in your eye suddenly fall down your cheek and on to the floor.
His hand comes to your cheek again, wiping away the tears. "I'm here." He says exactly what you've told him to say in these situations, and you just might die on the spot from how much it means to you. "I'm here too, honey," you hear Seonghwa say, somewhere above you. "But no one else, I told them all to leave. Well, Hongjoong is here, but he's in the living room. It's just us two in here with you."
You squeak in response, your brain not working at full capacity, but still able to register that you're safe and in the care of your two roommates. And at least your ability to touch another person without such severe pain is back, as it always is once you have your little fainting episodes. You really should have seen this coming given the way your body reacted to his touch earlier, because it's always a sign something bad's about to happen. But somehow you're still shocked every time that you end up on the ground, unconscious.
You reach your arm out feeling Yunho's bare knee, and grab onto it tightly, trying to fling yourself over in his direction but failing miserably.
"Woah, baby, careful." The words rush out of him, his head suddenly snapping up to meet Seonghwa's eyes, which have gone soft at the use of the pet name; and Yunho can't deny that he feels relief. He always did feel a sense of anxiety about Seonghwa's thoughts about him, and he sort of felt like he needed his approval, his confirmation that he was good enough for you. As quickly as his eyes moved up, they move back down to you, wrapping your arms into your chest and picking you up to cradle you in his lap. You both stay like that for a while, Yunho holding you like a baby while sat on the kitchen floor, Seonghwa standing nearby and watching your face intently for signs of how you were feeling. You were quiet for a while, once Yunho had grabbed you, but eventually your eyes blinked open and you squinted up, seeing the stubble lining the underside of Yunho's chin. You reached up and gently touched it with your pointer finger, giggling at the way he flinched away.
"She's awake," he sighs, looking down at you with watery eyes and a furrowed brow.
"What, was I out for a long time?" you ask, your voice quiet and scratchy.
"For you, yes," you hear Seonghwa say behind you, while Yunho nodded his head. You groan in response, shoving your face into Yunho's chest.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," you mumble, holding onto Yunho's shoulders.
"Shh, it's okay," he coos in response, running the thumb of his hand holding your legs up and down.
"Please don't go on the hike," you whimper, your breaths becoming shorter, your body starting to shake a bit.
"Of course, I'm not leaving you," he responds, leaning down to kiss the top of your head. He's not going to even mention the fact that everyone else had already left, because he knows in this state you probably don't remember that Seonghwa told you that.
"Please Yuyu, please stay with me," you whimper again, like you didn't hear what he just said. And more incoherent things are spilling out of you too, your grip on his shoulder tightening. Your brain has turned down the path it does when you come to after fainting, so freaked out and scared over what's happened that you leave this plane of existence. You're tumbling down a dark alleyway, one that must lead to hell, or something like that, and around every corner is a monster jumping out to attack you, leaving you more battered and bruised the further you go, your physical body slowly torn apart as you finally can't walk anymore and collapse in a puddle of your own blood.
It's very dark, the place you go to. And only these two really know the truth of it. You've never even told your own parents.
"Y/n, baby, I'm here and I'm not gonna let you go, I promise," Yunho says, hoping he's breaking through into your nightmare, at least a little. "I'm gonna move us to the couch, okay?"
You just brace yourself against him, as you feel him reposition his legs so he can stand in one fluid motion, carrying you over to the couch where he sits himself down and cradles you close once again. Seonghwa grabs a blanket and wraps it around you both, running a hand through your hair and peering down at your face. You almost look peaceful, except for the death grip on Yunho's shoulders.
"You're gonna be okay," Seonghwa says, brushing your hair off your neck and rubbing gently in the way he knows helps you feel better. It takes a few minutes, but finally you start to come back down to earth, your hands moving off Yunho's shoulders so you can snuggle into him more. You blink your eyes open again, slowly and deliberately this time, and though your body is wracked with exhaustion, you're able to see where you are and hear your normal thoughts again.
"I love you both, I don't know what I'd do without you," you say, choking up on the last words as tears form in your eyes again.
"Oh, sweetie, we love you too. I'm sorry you feel so bad today," Seonghwa responds, grabbing your hand and sqeezing it reassuringly.
"We'll just stay here on the couch today," Yunho says, sighing with relief. You sound like you're almost back to normal again which is what he waits for every time you come back from a spell.
And that you do, while Seonghwa and Hongjoong cook up some food for you, the four of you sitting in near silence as you eat and relax. It feels so nice to be cuddled up together, just peacefully eating, and even though you obviously are needing their care they still don't question you now, about how you're feeling. They still leave you be, and it allows you to just rest, which is what you really need. Eventually Yunho puts on your favorite show, the one he's been meaning to watch with you for forever, and you sit yourself up in his lap, wrapping his arms around your hips.
That's how you stay while Seonghwa and Hongjoong clean up the dishes, Seonghwa bringing you another cup of water and making you drink. As you sip he looks like he's thinking hard, and it seems clear he wants to say something.
"What is it?" you ask, cocking your head to the side.
"Well, I was just thinking we should probably go to the hospital when we get back to town, just to have you checked out," he says, sighing.
"Hwa-" you stop yourself, feeling the anger again. "I know, you're right. We will." You're short with him, even though you keep any fire from affecting your tone.
"I know you don't want to hear it, I'm sorry. I'm just worried about you, that was a long one. I'll shut up now," he says, smiling at you as he rose, walking his way back to the kitchen.
You and Yunho settle in, starting the next episode of your show, getting lost in it in just the way you had the first time you watched it.
"It's good, isn't it?" you ask him, smiling at just how quiet and concentrated he is.
"Yes, you were right," he sighs, making you laugh.
"I know it's a romance, but I knew you'd still like it," you respond, snuggling closer into him.
"You have good taste," he says, holding you close,
"I know," you say, and he chuckles. "I guess Seonghwa and Hongjoong didn't want to hang out with us," you add, making you both laugh.
"Yeah, I don't know where they went," Yunho responds. "Wait, what did that delivery guy bring them?" Yunho asks you, turning back to your show and feeing confused by the turn of events you'd both missed by talking. "I thought that was a pizza box?"
"Oh it was, but-"
You start to answer his question, but you're cut off by hearing conversation behind you, making you jump.
"Oh my god, that scared me," you laugh, relaxing momentarily before hearing it again. "Is that coming from the library?"
"I think so," Yunho responds, you both turning your attention that way, now realizing where your two friends have gone off to. You quickly grab the remote, pausing your show.
"Wait, bab-"
"Shh, I wanna hear," you say, placing a finger against Yunho's lips.
"You're so weird," he whispers, but he obliges, not making any more noise.
"No, no, I need to say it," you hear more clearly now, obviously Hongjoong's voice.
"Joongiee..."
It's quiet but unmistakably Seonghwa, making your eyes go wide. Not just the nickname, which you've never heard him or anyone use for Hongjoong before, but also the tone of his voice, the pleading nature of it.
"Oh my god," you whisper, turning to Yunho who's also looking surprised, you both fighting off a smile.
"Y/n, I-" Yunho starts, but your finger is on his lips again, silencing him.
***
Hongjoong had been different that morning; Seonghwa noticed it right away. He'd been a little different since the conversation you'd had with him two days prior, but this morning there was a noticeable change. It was in the way he held Seonghwa so tightly in the morning, the way he stared at him as they had their first cups of coffee. He was always intense with his staring, but this morning it was deep, it was piercing.
"What?" Seonghwa asked, the first words they spoke to each other that day. They both were early risers, strangely, given that they both often stayed up late too. They were always groggy first thing in the morning, needing caffeine to help their brains fully come awake. These mornings on the trip had been quiet, usually, especially given that everyone else was usually asleep and they didn't want to bother anyone. It had been peaceful having this quiet time together; almost domestic, in a way.
"Do you still want to go on the hike today?" Hongjoong asked. Everyone had planned to hike the trail that started at the falls today. It snaked up the side of the cliff, steep with several switchbacks, before ending up at the top, a clearing perfectly placed to look down across the forest and over the lake and cabin. The trail was actually much longer, continuing down into the mountain range behind the cliff, going on for almost ten miles before ending at a small trail head on the highway that ran through the back of the mountains. Occasionally people started from there, the view over the falls their end destination. None of you had ever gone that way, though it had been discussed occasionally that it would be a fun idea. You all walked from this side, which aside from the large vertical climb meant the hike was only about a mile and a half. Last year you had even been able to join and experience the cool air that rested up there, standing so close to the edge that Yunho pulled you back and wouldn't let go until you all headed back down again.
"It doesn't sound like you want to," Seonghwa replied, smiling at him.
"Well, I don't know," Hongjoong said, running a hand through his hair.
"Are you not feeling well?" Seonghwa asked, eyeing him. Now Hongjoong looked away, struggling to maintain the eye contact. He was always confident until his feelings were affected, and that look of concern he'd just received had his insides spinning.
"No no, it's not that," he replied, breathing deep to steady himself. "I was wondering if we could stay back, while everyone leaves, so I can talk to you. About something, um, important."
"That doesn't sound scary at all," Seonghwa responded, an unsure look on his face.
"It's not scary, I promise," Hongjoong sighed, finally look back up and meeting Seonghwa's gaze with pleading eyes.
"I'm was kidding, Joongie. Of course we can stay." The use of the nickname makes Hongjoong's stomach spin even more, the one he only uses when they're alone, just the two of them. Seonghwa's hand comes over to grab Hongjoong's, squeezing it in that way he loves to do when he wants to reassure someone.
Your spell that morning had changed plans, ever so slightly, and when Hongjoong watched Yunho and Seonghwa sit with you in the kitchen, as those minutes drew on, he had so many feelings. As much as he worried that he wouldn't have the opportunity to talk to Hwa anymore, he couldn't stop watching him with awe while he took care of you, the way he so intently watched you as you jerked around in your unconscious state, his quiet and reassuring words to Yunho. His head spun with worry for you, when it seemed both Seonghwa and Yunho were surprised at how long it was lasting. When you finally woke, his heart was nearly pounding with adoration at Seonghwa's kind words to you, and almost every bit of hesitation crumbled away. He knew what he had to do now, what was right.
He was thankful that as they cleaned dishes after lunch, Seonghwa whispered to him, "let's go to the library." You and Yunho were so engrossed in what you were watching that they were pretty sure you didn't even notice them moving, quietly walking around the back of the couch and through the open door, closing it but leaving it slightly ajar to avoid making noise.
"I didn't feel like going outside, it's too hot today," Seonghwa starts, turning around and standing awkwardly in front of one of the bookcases.
"I agree," Hongjoong sighs, across from him, his hands held behind his back as he stares.
"What are you doing? Come here," Seonghwa holds out his hand, and Hongjoong takes it, hesitantly. "What's gotten into you?"
"What do you mean?" Hongjoong replies, but the words feel bad coming out of his mouth, because he knows he must be acting strange with everything flying trough his head the way it is.
"You seem, deep in thought," Seonghwa answers, grabbing his other hand now too.
"I'm very easy to read, huh?"
"Yeah," Seonghwa replies with a nod. "I can always tell when you're upset, or when you're happy. But I never know why."
"Cause I never tell you," Hongjoong responds. It's a statement, he's not asking anything, not looking for a response. Seonghwa can tell and keeps his mouth shut, their eyes locked together in an intense stare down.
"I'm going to stop being like that, or at least, I'm gonna try," Hongjoong continues, holding onto Seonghwa's hands tightly. "I- I need to tell you this. I don't know how you'll feel but, I need to tell you." His heart rate is rising, so strong that Seonghwa can feel it through his palms.
"You need to take a deep breath," Seonghwa says, breathing in and out slowly to try to calm his own nerves. Hongjoong does too, moving his hands to Seonghwa's hips, steading them both against the bookshelf behind.
"I had this conversation, with y/n, two days ago. After you know, I kind of fought with Yunho, that stupid morning, remember?" Seognhwa nodded his head, eyes still trained on Hongjoong's. "She said a lot of things that made me, uh, reconsider, I guess, how I've been dealing with things. She just... made me think a lot. And made me realize that I've been such an asshole to you."
"Hongjoong..." Seonghwa trials off, not even sure what to say in response to what he's just heard.
"I'm really avoidant, of my feelings, I'm really good at just pushing them aside and doing whatever I think I should. With a lot of my life I've been able to just deal with things that way. But you've always made me feel things that I couldn't push down, and god that's always scared me, so much. I was telling y/n, the other day, I- I had this experience with my dad, where we saw that magazine cover you did, your first major cover for that makeup line. Me and my dad, and my mom too, we saw it in a corner store by their old house, and my dad said such nasty things about all of you on that cover. I'm positive he had no idea it was you. It made me so sick, and I thought I was moving past his homophobic views and the affect it had on me, but his comments that day sent me right back to the person I was when I was a kid, that person who was afraid of him. I- I want you, so badly I want to be with you, I fucking love you, but you deserve so much more than me, you deserve to be with someone who's family will accept you and and treat you with the kindness you deserve, the kindness you give everyone around you every day. I- I'm not good enough for you, and I know that, I'm still so uncomfortable with my sexuality and so uncomfortable with myself and just- I- I still can't help selfishly wishing that you want to be with me too, because, fuck, no one makes me feel the way you do."
A silence hangs in the air as Seonghwa still stares, the beginning of tears forming in his eyes. Seeing it sends chills through Hongjoong, because as sensitive and caring as Hwa was, he was't often one to cry.
"I'm so sorry, about everything. I know I said last year that we'd talk again, we'd figure out what this thing was between us, but every time I sat down to text you or call you I couldn't do it. I was too afraid, too scared of what might happen if I really did start dating you. And that was so fucking stupid of me, listening to that fear. I fucked up, I know I did. I don't think I can express with words how much I regret it, Hwa, seriously..."
"Joongie, you don't need to say all that. You don't need to be so hard on yourself," Seonghwa replies, his heart aching at just how harsh Hongjoong was being to himself.
"No, no, I need to say it," Hongjoong replies, his hands moving up to Seonghwa's waist, grabbing him possessively.
"Joongie," Seonghwa whines, the pressure from his hands intoxicating. Hongjoong's lips are on his in a moment, gentle as they brush over his.
"I need you to understand that I know I've been an asshole," Hongjoong sighs through a ragged breath as he pulls back for a moment. "And that I know you've been nothing but patient with me, which is more than I deserve."
"You do deserve it, though. Stop saying that, stop being so mean to yourself," Seonghwa replies, pouting. They're kissing again, and it is so soft and so sweet, but filled with want, too.
"Wait, Joongie." Seonghwa puts his hand on Hongjoong's shoulder, pushing him back for a moment. "Are you sure you want to be with me? Is that what you're saying?"
"One hundred-thousand percent, I'm sure," Hongjoong replies, his eyes looking deep into Seonghwa's. "But I understand if you don't want to, after all this time, and everything that's happened. I still remember what you said that night at Ari's birthday, I know we were really drunk that night but I... I never forgot what you said."
Seonghwa sighs deeply, stricken back to that complicated, crazy night four years ago. I know you'll never actually date me, Hongjoong, but I can't stop dreaming that you'll change your mind one day. By the time you do I'll probably not even want you anymore. That was what he said, in the drunk haze he was in, Hongjoong kissing him and making him angry all over again, his frustration spilling out of his mouth, along with the shots he'd been taking. It was a mortifying, telling night, and he regretted what he'd said for months, knowing that even if it was how he truly felt, he could never understand what is was like to be Hongjoong and have parents so unaccepting.
"I'm a lot more mature now, than I was then," Seonghwa sighs, his hands resting gently on Hongjoong's shoulders.
"You were already mature, then," Hongjoong shakes his head. "And you were right, you know. You were always right. I'm- I hope this doesn't sound bad, but, I'm shocked you waited for me."
"Well I didn't, really," Seonghwa laughs, looking away bashfully.
"No, I know. I just mean, I'm surprised you're still giving me a chance now."
"I can't help it," Seonghwa replies. Hongjoong looks at him quizzically, waiting for more of an explanation. "No one makes me feel like you do, Joongie. I'm sure I would have still given you the chance even if you waited till we were in the nursing home together."
"You're too good for this world," Hongjoong replies, kissing Seonghwa deeply this time, his whole body tingling with just how perfect the man in front of him is making him feel. Now he feels stupid for being worried about this conversation, because of course he should have known Seonghwa would react this way. That moment at that party all those years ago was the only time he'd said anything like that; since then, for years they'd hooked up, and not an unkind word left his lips. It really, truly didn't seem fair to Hongjoong; he had a debt to pay, and he was determined to make things right going forward. He digs his hands into Seonghwa's waist further, his tongue sliding into Seonghwa's mouth and feeling the soft warmth of his tongue. He pulls back to suck on his lower lip, Seonghwa's sweet lip gloss making his full lips delectable. Hongjoong groans at the taste, making Seonghwa moan in response and involuntarily buck his hips into the air, his body alight with feelings of warmth and neediness.
"Fuck, you're so fucking pretty," Hongjoong says as he pulls back, looking at the man in front of him, his lips glistening and his long bangs falling into his face. They're both still wearing their pajamas; Seonghwa's are a dark blue matching set of shorts and a button up top, with light blue edging. Hongjoong runs his hands underneath the shirt, feeling Seonghwa's stomach and chest and the heat that's seeping through his skin. Already a noticeable tent is forming in his shorts, just from the few kisses and touches, the air electric between them as it always is. But now there's also an added layer of anticipation, because this wasn't planned and Seonghwa has no idea where this is headed.
"You always take care of everyone else, let me take care of you for once," Hongjoong says, reaching his hand down to feel over Seonghwa's hardening cock, moving in and kissing his neck slowly, sucking harshly on the delicate skin he finds.
"Joong, joongie, ahh," Seonghwa moans, his legs already feeling like jello. "Please don't mark me up, my photo shoot-"
"Shit, I forgot, sorry," Hongjoong says as he pulls his lips of his neck, licking a long stripe up the abused skin and chuckling at the adorable moan that left Seonghwa's lips when he did. "I wish I could leave marks all over you," he groans, kissing down Seonghwa's neck to his collar bone, his hand still rubbing Seonghwa over his shorts. They're both hard now, Seonghwa straining against Hongjoong's hand as the pressure builds deliciously. Finally Hongjoong reaches into his shorts, the skin to skin contact sending shivers of pleasure up Seonghwa's spine, making him moan pathetically. At this point Hongjoong is positive you and Yunho have heard, even with your show playing. But he can't find it in himself to care, because he needs to accomplish his goal, taking care of Seonghwa, and it's all he can think of. He spits into his hand some more, rubbing it up and down Seonghwa's shaft to finally start stroking him hard, starting slow but keeping the pressure tight. Seonghwa's a writhing mess in front of him, his eyes rolled into the back of his head as he feels nothing but Hongjoong's hand, his own hands anchoring him as they hold onto Hongjoong's shoulders.
"That feel good?" Joong asks him, making him whine and nod in response, his mouth now hanging open. "You're the most perfect thing to exist," Hongjoong continues, watching Seonghwa with adoration and amazement. It's in these moments he can't believe he's here, that this man in front of him likes this as much as he does. This beautiful creature, like someone out of his fantasies, placed on earth here in front of him to make all his dreams come true. He kisses Seonghwa's cheek, whispering 'you're so perfect' in his ear, before dropping to his knees and pulling down Seonghwa's shorts slowly. When he finally pulls Seonghwa's cock eye level with him he sees how hard it is, already leaking slightly front the tip. He reaches his mouth up and swipes his tongue over the bead of precum, making Seonghwa's hips jolt at the contact, his head fuzzy from the change in position. This isn't a position they're in often, Hongjoong servicing Seonghwa like this, and it makes Seonghwa's heart break to think Hongjoong is doing this cause he thinks he has to.
"Joongie, ahh, you don't have to," he whispers between moans, his hands trapped behind his back.
"No, I need this," Hongjoong replies, his tone gravelly and domineering, and suddenly it all makes sense to Seonghwa again. It's in this way that Hongjoong is forgiving himself, showing himself that he can put his pride aside and do something nice for Seonghwa. "I need you to cum down my throat," he says, his breathing picking up as he licks a long stripe up the bottom of Seonghwa's shaft, making him shutter with pleasure. He moves his lips to suck on the head, slowly working his hand up and down the shaft again, looking up to see Seonghwa's blissed out face, his jaw hanging open and his eyes squeezed shut. He continues sucking hard, his mouth pulling off with an audible pop, and then he licks up the entire length of his cock again before enveloping it fully in his mouth, reaching back to his throat and threatening to make him gag.
"Fuck, Joongie, it feels so good," Seonghwa whines above him, his eyes still closed as he focuses entirely on the feeling of Hongjoong's warm mouth around him. Hongjoong can only groan in response, his head moving in swift motions now as he works Seonghwa up, feeling his cock getting harder and harder with every stroke. Seonghwa's hands come to rest in his hair, gently pulling on the strands more in an act of love, than anything, but it drives Joong crazy to be finally in this position. He felt like he'd taken so much from the man above him, not just over the last year but over the entire time they'd known one another, and it felt so good to finally be repaying him. His jaw was cramping slightly and his breathing was feeling difficult, but it didn't matter in this moment as he looked up to see Seonghwa's face again, Seonghwa so obviously lost in everything that he was feeling. But there was a tenseness about his hips, about the way he was holding them back against the shelf behind him.
"Hwa, baby, please come in my mouth. Don't hold back," Hongjoong says, taking a break to catch his breath briefly, his hand still working Seonghwa's length. "Look at me," he says, Seonghwa's eyes finally opening and falling on Hongjoong's messy face and blown pupils. "Baby, stop holding back," he says again before diving in, pulling himself onto Seonghwa by his hips, this time going so deep that he actually gags.
"Ahh, fuck," Seonghwa moans, holding onto Hongjoong's hair now for dear life, his orgasm ready to wash over him any moment. It's Hongjoong who is being so harsh with himself, again, forcing himself to take it down his throat repeatedly for the sake of Seonghwa's pleasure. Seonghwa is almost holding him back by his hair now, not wanting him to get hurt. But he can't deny how hot it is to see Hongjoong like this, so desperate to please and to make up for everything. Despite the patience and kindness, Seonghwa had been pissed at him for years, at least a little. And Hongjoong just looked so perfect like this, his cock lost in his mouth and his hair messy from Seonghwa's hands, and suddenly it was all too much. Seonghwa's moans suddenly stutter as he comes down Hongjoong's throat, just as he'd asked, Hongjoong groaning at the feeling of his warm load filling his mouth. He works hard to swallow it all, sucking on Seonghwa's tip to finish the job and making Seonghwa gasp at the overstimulation.
"Thank you," Hongjoong says through ragged breaths, standing to kiss Seonghwa again and hold him close. Seonghwa whimpers into his mouth, still coming down from his high, his body electric with pleasure and feelings much deeper, too.
"You taste so good," Hongjoong mumbles in his ear, making him giggle in slight embarrassment, shoving his face in Hongjoong's shoulder. They stay locked together in their tight embrace for minutes, Seonghwa's breaths finally slowing to a more normal pace.
***
Sat on Yunho's lap, you can't deny how hot it is to overhear everything. Your body completely betrayed how you felt; your hips moving against Yunho's rhythmically, making him start to get hard himself. When Yunho finally snaked his hands into your shorts he found your cunt wet and open for him, two fingers slipping inside you with ease.
"Fuck, Yunho," you whispered, your hands coming to brace you against him, holding down on his arm in a way you didn't realize was restricting his movement.
"Is it too much?" he responds, the soft sound brushing past your ear and making you shiver.
"No just, go slow," you huff out, your head lolling against his shoulder as you relax into the feeling. Yunho does as you've asked, his fingers thrusting in and out of you slowly, gently, and giving the perfect amount of pressure to your aching cunt. You hadn't realized yourself how wet you were, how worked up you'd gotten. Gently you moved your hips in tandem with him, your breaths whiney and fast and making Yunho's head spin.
"You like listening to them too, not just watching," he says with a slight chuckle, and if it weren't for the fingers deep inside of you making your whole body slack with pleasure, you'd punch him in the shoulder.
"Yunhooo," you whine, his teasing building everything up even more. You can hear how wet you are now, the sounds coming from under the blanket making their way to your ears despite the layers of fabric in between. It's building, hearing Seonghwa's beautiful cries of pleasure, your mind racing with a million different ideas of what might be happening in that other room, and the way Yunho's palm is now rubbing against your clit while his fingers work you open is making your legs start to shake.
"Breathe baby," he reminds you, your body tensing up and forgetting to as your pleasure builds. He keeps his hand steady, knowing he's found the perfect spot from the way your body is reacting.
Suddenly you both hear something outside, something that sounds like comfortable conversation and Wooyoung's unmistakable laugh, and Yunho's hand pauses. You can feel he's about to pull his hand away, just in the millisecond your brain registers his muscles begin to twitch, and you reach out your own hand to grab his wrist and stop him from moving.
"Don't stop, please, I'm so close," you whisper, tipping your head back to make eye contact with him through the tips of your eyelashes. He just looks at you with so much adoration, starting up his rhythmic movements once again, adding even more pressure to your clit as he feels you rubbing against him. You keep your eye contact, both of you locked together in this unexpected moment of lust, and soon you're coming on his fingers, your legs shaking as your pussy throbs hard. Your own hand still hasn't left his wrist, and you use it to pull him away from you when it feels like too much, his hand snaking back up out of your shorts just in time for Wooyoung to pop his head through the back door, followed quickly by the woman who must be his new girlfriend.
You all make sudden eye contact, the look on your face one of embarrassment as you come down from your orgasm in the presence of company.
"What are you two up to?" Wooyoung laughs, making his way to his backpack on the floor.
"We, we're watching..." your words get lost in your throat when you look at the TV and see the show paused, which he can obviously see himself.
"Mmhm, sure," he responds, chuckling again.
"Woo, shut the fuck up!" you cry, laughing yourself at the embarrassment, and at the way Wooyoung has turned the tables on you. You liked it much better when you were the one making fun of him, not the other way around.
"Y/n, this is my girlfriend Sammie," Wooyoung says as he stands up, gesturing in her direction.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you," you say, trying to keep your giggles at bay. Thankfully she too finds the situation amusing, and laughs along with you.
"It's nice to meet you too. I hope you're feeling okay," she responds, her eyes kind as she looks in your direction, her whole being emanating a warm, caring energy. She's obviously older than the rest of you; she has that put together air about her, her clothes and glasses and haircut all crisp and sharp. But it isn't intimidating, and she doesn't seem cold. If anything, the put together nature of her is more comforting, like if anything went wrong she'd be able to help you.
"I'm a little better, I guess. I'm conscious," you chuckle, smiling. "Thank you for asking."
"Of course," she replies, nodding at you, smiling too. "You two are very cute together, by the way," she adds.
"Thank you," you smile, shyly turning your head away and snuggling into Yunho. His wet fingers are still resting on your stomach, underneath the blanket covering you both, and the reminder of what you'd just done makes you feel a little giddy. Just then the rest of the pack of hikers enters through the back door, and soon the cabin returns to the low hum of conversation that always accompanies the group of you together. Eventually Yunho sneaks off to clean his hand, coming back to carry you to bed after you'd finished your dinner, making you drink another tall glass of water to make sure you're hydrated. By then the sun is setting, the lights in the living room off as the group that's staying up enjoys a spooky movie, while you and Yunho retire for an early night, one you desperately need given your physical state today.
***
In the darkness of the night, your head tucked into a pillow and against Yunho's chest, Yunho surprises you by speaking.
"I have a question for you," he starts, voice low with sleepiness.
"Hmm?" you respond, snuggling closer to him, your mind fuzzy and about to surrender to sleep.
"Okay let me preface this by saying, I don't want you to think I'm making fun of you. I am genuinely curious about this," he says, and you groan in irritation, not wanting him to continue. "Baby, it's not mean, I swear. I just noticed that, well, you like watching or overhearing other people have sex, don't you?"
"Yunho," you sigh, pulling his arms tight against you despite your annoyance.
"I'm not- I don't mean to bring up our senior trip again, more just what I've observed on this trip," he says, holding you tight to try and reassure you. "You do like it, right?"
"Uh, obviously," you sigh, your cheeks warming with self consciousness. You know he knows that already, and you're not really sure why he's making you say it.
"Baby, that's really hot," he says, shocking you.
"It is?" you ask.
"Yes, it is."
"But, why?" you ask, squirming ever so slightly in his embrace.
"Cause it just is, baby. It's just hot that you, have certain sexual fantasies I guess, that aren't totally average," he replies. "I like that."
His words send waves of feeling through you, feelings that you can't really describe except to say that it feels like relief, or like a locked away box inside is finally open and free. Your head spins for a moment, thinking of your recent interactions with him, and you can't help but ask the question.
"Did you read my book, the morning before we left for this trip?" you ask, and all you feel in response is Yunho's chest rise and fall, as he takes in a breath and promptly lets it out. "You did! I knew it," you laugh, smiling into the pillow. "Well, what did you think?"
"I didn't get far, baby, I only read the introduction," he replies.
"Have you ever read any of my other books?" you venture.
"Yes?" he responds, a little surprised you're asking.
"Yunho!" you respond, mouth agape.
"You left that faerie book in my room last month, did you not want me to read it??" he asks.
"Wait, that's where it is?" you ask, having thought for the last few weeks that you'd lost it somehow on your way to work, or misplaced it so badly in your room that you were never going to find it.
"That wasn't on purpose?" he asks.
"No, on my god," you laugh, hands coming up to cover your face for a second. "You read it?"
"Um, yes, yes I did," he replies.
"The whole thing?" you ask, genuinely shocked.
"Yes, y/n, I thought you wanted me to," he sighs.
"Oh my god, that's funny," you chuckle. "Well, what did you think of that one?" you ask, tone full of amusement.
"You're into some freaky shit, girl," he replies, and you're laughing so loud that you're probably being heard in the living room.
"Maybe I am," you say, burying your face in your pillow. "I can't fucking believe you read it."
"Me neither," Yunho says, his cheeks pink with embarrassment now, too. "How did you even, discover that you liked that kind of thing?"
"Um, one of my friends in high school, she was reading this book about like an alien planet, it was this weird dystopian sort of world where humans had made contact with aliens and they'd keep humans as slaves sometimes, and anyway, it got very smutty. She would tell me about it in P.E. and said I should read it. I was pretty disgusted by the idea at first and didn't take her up the offer for a while, but when I finally did I ended up really liking it, honestly, as fucked up as it was. And from then on, well, I just look for stuff online that sounds like it'll be good. It's pretty easy to find if you know where to look."
"Wow," Yunho replies, eyes open in the dark room. "Who was it?"
"Huh?"
"I mean that girl, what friend of yours? We went to high school together, remember?"
"I omitted that information on purpose, dummy. She made me promise then that I'd never tell anyone about that book she showed me. I can't break that, even if it's been like ten years," you reply.
"I guess I'll just have to guess, then," he says. "Was it Ari?"
"No, of course not," you say, rolling your eyes. "Don't keep guessing, I mean it," you say, gently elbowing him in the ribs. In retaliation he starts tickling you, his hand snaking under your arm and hitting you where it's worst.
"Yunho, ah, stop!" you shriek, his large frame on top of you in seconds and pinning you down as you try to fight back, flailing your legs and arms with very little strength. It's not there today, after passing out this morning, and Yunho's realizes and immediately stops himself, remembering you're in a bad state and knowing he shouldn't be messing around with you like this.
"Sorry, I'll stop," he says before planting a kiss on your cheek, tucking himself up behind you again.
And just when your brain is getting fuzzy again, when you think you're about to finally fall asleep, he speaks again.
"How did you discover you like watching people fuck?" he asks. You laugh at how matter of fact it is.
"I- uh, well, it was several things, I guess," you start. "It's kind of- it's a long story," you say, sighing because his question has just sparked a memory that was so buried, and you weren't ready for how it made you feel to be playing in your mind again.
"I'm all ears," he says, adjusting himself to get even more comfortable.
"Yunho," you sigh.
"I'm just curious baby, I promise I won't judge you," he says.
"It's not that," you say, sucking in a breath.
"What is it, then?" he asks.
"I- I saw something at Ari's eighteenth birthday party," you say, the words stumbling a bit as they exit your mouth. You hope he'll catch your drift immediately, because for some reason saying this out loud feels so scary, and adrenaline is already coursing through you.
"What did you see?" he asks. His tone is quite neutral, so you can't tell if he has any inkling of what you're thinking, and it irks you. You're going to have to say it, and your heart races in your chest.
"I-I saw you- you and Mingi, uh, kissing," you say, the image playing clear as day in your head. Both of them are holding red solo cups, and the room is empty, except for the mess strewn about from the night's activities. The harsh light of Ari's friend's college dorm shines down as you're sat on the lumpy couch, screams coming from outside as everyone gathered to watch someone throw something off the roof. You couldn't be bothered to watch that, having slipped back inside, and thought for sure you'd be all alone until you spotted that two of them in the hallway, Mingi's back pressed to the wall as Yunho stared him down, their obviously drunk eyes meeting feverishly. And then Yunho leaned in, your stomach dropping in your gut as you watched their lips meet, as you watched Yunho grab Mingi's waist and pull himself forward, the solo cups dropping to the floor and long forgotten. You hadn't been able to get that image out of your head for months, it coming to you time and time again, in the dead of night when your hand was between your legs.
"Oh, you saw us?" Yunho asks. You don't really know what you were expecting in response, but his calm reaction is surprising you.
"Yeah," you reply, letting out the breath you were holding.
"And, you liked it?"
"Mmhm", you reply. "Did you guys, do , uh, other stuff that night?" you ask, hesitating a moment.
"You mean, did we have sex?" he clarifies. You nod. "Uh, yeah, I think so. Honestly we were both kind of drunk that night, which probably wasn't the best. But yeah, we've hooked up a few times, actually."
"Really?" you ask, and suddenly you remember another birthday of Ari's, the night when you had to escort a very drunk and very sad Seonghwa home, and when the two of you were walking down the dimly lit path that led from her apartment to the street, you saw through the window the silouette of what you swore looked like two tall men kissing.
"It's weird, I know," he says behind you.
"No, no, that's not what I mean. I just always thought you were straight," you say.
"I thought so too," he says, voice sounding small.
"Are you ashamed of it?"
"Maybe," he says.
"Yuyu, you shouldn't be."
"I know," he says.
You squeeze his arms close, tucking yourself into him again. "I've done stuff with a girl," you say, breaking the silence, hoping the admission makes him feel better about what he's just revealed.
"Who?" he asks.
"Do you remember my friend Elle? Yeah, a few times we did stuff," you answer, bringing to his mind the girl you spent so much time with the summer after high school, the two of you inseparable in a way that should have made your feelings obvious. But even to each other, they weren't.
"Oh, I should have guessed," he laughed.
"I know, we were fucking inseparable that summer. And she, well, I think she was very ashamed of it all. She didn't explicitly ask me never to tell anyone but please, don't tell anyone else. I don't think she would want anyone knowing, really. I mean, it's not like any of us are friends with her anymore, she doesn't even live here anymore. But you know what I mean."
"Of course, I won't tell anyone," he says, sighing in relief. Your admission has helped him feel a bit better about his own secret, and you can feel it in the way his body relaxes behind you.
"Do you want me to not tell anyone about you and Mingi?" you ask.
"Well, I think some of our friends kind of know, I mean if you saw us then probably some of them have. I don't- honestly- hmm, I don't think I care who knows. I don't think he does either. I mean, it's happened, it's not like we can really pretend like it hasn't," he says, his mind spinning as he thinks more deeply about him and Mingi than he has in a while. He thought about it a lot, after it first happened, but since then he'd sort of buried those thoughts because Mingi had never brought it up himself. Without another person prompting it, Yunho would probably never have given it much thought, and some part of him felt like that was really strange, and cowardly. "Is it weird that I don't really, think about it?" he asks you.
"No, I mean why should you have to? If neither of you are ashamed about it, and it's just some little thing that happened in the past, why should it have to be this big complicated thing? It's just like any other hookup from high school, or college," you say, and you feel him tense behind you again, slightly. "What, is there something else you haven't told me?"
"Well, it's not just some thing from high school. It's happened more times than just that," he says.
"How many times?" you ask, chuckling slightly. You can't help but feel excited by the information, even if he sounds hesitant to share.
"Oh, you're loving this aren't you," he jokes, gently pinching your side.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. I just, I'm very curious," you say, biting back a laugh again.
"Curious, I'm sure that's what it is," he chuckles. "Well, uh, I don't know the exact number, I meant probably somewhere around, eleven, twelve times?"
"Really?" you ask, and you can't hide the way your thighs clench a bit.
"Wow, you like the idea of it that much?" he teases, moving a hand down to your thigh.
"Yunho," you grumble, his teasing making you feel a bit embarrassed of yourself again.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't tease so much," he says, hand still not leaving your thigh. "Like I said before, it's hot. Really hot." Your cheeks bloom in a genuine smile, that little box inside of you open, waves of light flowing out and making your whole body feel airy and warm. Being seen like this by him, these fantasies not only being accepted but being liked by him, has you feeling so connected to him and to yourself in a way that you've not often felt in life. The feeling emboldens you, and because the two of you haven't discussed any specific terms of your relationship yet, you want to put your thought out there in the open.
"You can keep hooking up with him, even if we're, together. As long as you're being safe, of course," you say.
"Do you want us to be open?" he asks.
"No, I don't think so. But he feels like an exception to me. I don't want to be in the way of you two..." you trail off, unsure how to word what you're trying to say.
"Do you want to watch us, is that it?" Yunho laughs, his instinct to tease you taking over again. He expects an immediate dismissal from you, but the groan you let out and the way your legs tremble just momentarily tells him everything he needs to know. "Looks like I'll have to ask Mingi a few questions," he chuckles, making your body tremble again.
"You- are you serious?" you respond, surprised.
"If I can make your wild fantasies come true, then I want to. I obviously can't make everything that happens in those little books of yours a reality, but this is something I could do. I mean, I know Mingi thinks you're hot, so I kind of bet he'll jump at the chance," Yunho says, his hand on your thigh squeezing you comfortingly. "And of course we're always safe, we both take that stuff seriously."
"You- ok first of all, how do you know Mingi feels that way? And second of all, you two can still hook up without me being there too, just so you know. Just to make this very clear," you respond.
"Me and Mingi have talked about it. Talked about you. A lot, honestly," he sighs, moving his hand around to the front of you again.
"So he did know already," you say, remembering the first night in the hot spring tub.
"What do you mean?" Yunho asks.
"The first night when we were all in the hot spring, he looked at me funny when I climbed onto your lap. I don't know if you noticed," you respond.
"Oh, yeah, well he knew about my feelings at least, so he probably was wondering if you were doing that cause you felt the same."
"I didn't even realize it then," you chuckle.
"It's very cute how oblivious you are sometimes," he says. "Though honestly I wasn't even sure myself if you liked me back."
"Has Mingi been, weird with you at all, because of us?" you ask.
"No, we haven't talked about it this trip, but I know he won't feel any type of way about it. I know he thinks you're attractive too, but we both always knew I felt a lot more for you than he did. And we're a lot closer than you two are, at least as far as I know," he chuckles, illicinting a nod from you. "He hasn't been weird at all, but seriously, I think he'd go for it if we presented the idea of you watching me and him."
"Really?" you ask, still not sure if you believe him.
"Yeah, I can talk to him about it, if you want. Or if you want to, that's fine."
"I- I think I want to, actually," you say, surprising you both. "I want to hear it from his mouth that he actually is attracted to me like that."
"I promise you I'm not lying," he says, holding you close.
"I know Yunho, it just feels a little hard to believe."
And with that final sentence you both finally yawn, your conversation coming to an end as the dark blanket of night falls over you both. It was another eventful day of your trip, another day your body angered you, but you couldn't help feeling a lot of excitement as you fell asleep, wondering what a conversation with Mingi might bring you.

this is part of the time after time universe but can be read as a teaser and/or a standalone 💚
Tumblr media
Bucky’s relationship with time has been fractured ever since a cold day in January that stole away the life he was headed towards and turned him into the monster underneath a child’s bed.
It’s hard to feel good about the concept of time travel once a lot of your own time has been taken away from you. Even now, there’s only so many things in his life he has control over; like the fact that he’s actively choosing to go back to therapy now, or that he’s able to keep a pet for the first time since he was thirteen years old. Stupid little things, like what kind of food he wants for lunch or whether he should take the stairs or the elevator.
Every single one of these things he’s fought for tooth and nail, clawing his way out of the past and carving out his own space in reality again, struggling, trying, hanging on like he wasn’t able to all those decades ago.
He’s probably still failing.
Some days, clinging to the present is tense and brings him nothing but grief. Sometimes, it feels like he’s going to have to mourn the past forever, whatever might have been; and maybe that’s his sentence.
He wouldn’t have wished it on anyone. He deserves worse.
And then there’s you.
Flickering in and out of time, constantly moving, changing in the time it takes him to blink.
It’s infuriating to him, the way you get to use your powers. The way you don’t need to think about consequences, because they don’t have to be permanent, don’t have to be something you need to live with for the rest of your life. To you, time has always been something that can be changed with a single snap of your fingers. Whatever you do can just as easily be undone.
Once you decide you’ve seen enough, you can just take the scene from the top.
And you’re so stubborn.
You’ve already seen how this goes on if you let it, and so you’re always right, end of story. There’s an ease to your steps because of it, a nonchalance in every movement, and it makes Bucky’s blood boil to see it so plainly.
With all the good that you could do, you choose to do nothing instead; to stay out of the picture entirely and burn through your powers just because you can, wasting them all on things that don’t mean anything.
How many lives could you potentially save?
Instead, you consume disturbing amounts of caffeine and then continue to provide running commentary to the world around you based on things that, to him, never happen at all. "Do this", "don’t do that", "take the other one", or, his absolute favorite, "don’t make me fix that".
Why not? he wants to ask, say, demand. Why not fix all of it?
It takes a while for him to realize that all of your fire means you’re burning from both ends. In fact, it takes Becca.
"You should bring her by sometime," she tells him on a rainy afternoon. "While I’m still alive and kicking."
His little sister just turned ninety-eight. Her kitchen sideboard is filled with black-and-white pictures reminding him of all the things in her life that he missed, arranged in perfect little wooden frames.
"And why would I do that?" Bucky asks, scowling at his cards.
"Because you keep mentioning her," Rebecca says dryly and whisks the cards onto her pile with quick fingers.
"You gotta be kidding me," he groans, noting down her points. "And I don’t."
"Do, too. I don’t remember you being this terrible at this game."
"Because I haven’t caught you when you’re cheating."
"Exactly. It’s embarrassing." She wins the next trick, too. "How’s Tuesday?"
"Am I clairvoyant now?"
"I was thinking lunch."
"No." Finally, he gets a couple of points down. When he glances up at his sister again, she’s looking at him expectantly and he sighs. "What?"
"You can’t fault me for being curious," she says. She has just as many opinions as she did when she was sixteen. Her eyes are still the same, too, the same shade of blue as his and the same glimmer of archness as their mother.
"Don’t you think it’s weird?" Bucky says, finally giving in. "The whole … time thing?"
"I think it’s very weird, but so’s you returning from the dead and kvetching about it." Her eyes narrow when he starts to protest. His mouth closes again. "Besides," she continues, shuffling her hand around, "it doesn’t sound all that fun."
"To have the power to never make mistakes?"
"To have to live through every mistake twice without anyone knowing."
Something about her words strikes him like a match, and so he tilts his head and squints at her and thinks that maybe, just maybe, he’s got it wrong.
That you carry not only your past, but all the futures you’ve seen that never came to be; all the what ifs having turned into answers.
And he thinks, how nice. And then he thinks, how horrifying.
It’s a thought that follows him over the next couple of weeks, and it starts reframing your interactions for him, in a way.
"Will you stop staring at me," you say without looking up from your book.
Honestly, he can’t. He’s still trying to pick up on it, the split second between before and after, that little change of your posture, your hair, your face, that tells him more time has passed for you than it has for him.
It’s more of a feeling than anything else, something right at the back of his mind telling him that something is different if he concentrates on it enough, but he’s never sure what it is. And he doesn’t like that; not one bit.
So Bucky crosses his arms and leans back. "Why?"
A flash of irritation makes your nose twitch, even though you still refuse to meet his eye.
"It’s rude, for one."
"Noted." He waits for the two that never comes. "Anything else?"
And there it is. A blink-and-you-miss-it kind of moment, like the air shifting around you ever so slightly, a certain knowing glint in your eyes when you roll them and get up.
"Annoying!"
He can’t help it. He wonders what your original answer was.
***
Bucky’s relationship with time changes slowly, the deepest cuts carefully mending themselves until looking back doesn’t feel like getting his bones ripped apart anymore, until he looks at you on a cold day in January and realizes he’s fucked.
At first, he hopes that it might be a fluke. A trick of the light, maybe, or seasonal allergies. That’s the reason why his eyes are drawn to your face as soon as he enters a room; the closest source of discomfort always the thing he seeks out first. That’s the reason why his chest constricts like that.
But the truth is, he knows this feeling has been building slowly; he’s just been unwilling to admit it.
Something soft and delicate has started to nestle in that gaping hole inside his chest, unbothered by the walls he’s so carefully built up.
He’d never planned on you.
Fuck, if he’d known in the beginning, he might’ve …
No, he thinks. He wouldn’t have changed anything.
Because you’re too good for him, anyway, and he knows it. Smart and strong and funny and gorgeous and capable of things he’s not sure he’ll ever fully comprehend; and it’s worse than that, because he knows you now.
You’re grouchy in the mornings and you make terrible jokes when you’re nervous and you have a strange feud with his cat and your smile makes him want to put his fist through the wall because what is he supposed to do with any of this?
He’s not made for this dance anymore. That part was taken from him so long ago, and he’s delusional to think that anything or anyone could return it to him after all the bridges he’d been made to cross and burn. Why would someone like him deserve to be given tenderness anymore in this life? Why would anyone want to try?
But that foolish thing blooming inside him feels a lot like hope, despite of what he keeps telling himself.
There’s just something about you that keeps pulling him in, and honestly, he’s tired of fighting it. Then again, the thought of you feeling the same is nothing short of ridiculous.
He’s not the same guy as he used to be. Hell, sometimes he’ll look at old photographs and barely recognize himself.
He remembers life before, and maybe that’s what makes this so hard. He remembers talking to pretty girls, their bright smiles, their soft skin underneath his hands. Good times were easy to come by, even though life was hard in a different way, then. But he was good at it; acting on his feelings alone used to be simple, fun, second-nature almost.
It’s different now.
It used to be different only once before, and look where that’s gotten him.
No, he can’t say anything. Not ever; or not yet, at any rate.
Sometimes, though, Bucky lies awake at night and listens to the rain knocking against his window, and he remembers how much easier falling asleep used to be when he had someone next to him and his mattress didn’t swallow him alive.
He’ll remember the dark circles under your eyes and wish it could be as easy as asking, too. He wonders if there’s a universe you remember where he tries, but he doubts it.
These days, he knows his mind again. And it’s not a burden he wants to share.
You have enough to carry on your own.
Maybe, he thinks as he stares up at the ceiling at three in the morning, maybe there’s still a certain comfort in your powers, in knowing all the possibilities, but it also means constantly losing something that’s real; always mourning the life that isn’t.
He can relate to that.
And maybe that means you can relate to him, too, at least a little bit.
It’s odd, how comforting that last little thought is to him.
When he does eventually fall asleep, you make your way into his dreams, too, sometimes. Those times are the worst.
You’re you, and he’s him, and there’s a sort of "us" in the both of you that doesn’t exist in real life. So when you let him lace his fingers with yours and press your lips to his forehead and it feels easy, that’s usually the point when he wakes up, heart tumbling over itself, right hand tracing the ghost of your touch, always too much, never enough.
He knows it’s not real.
He knows it’s just an indulgence; selfish, really.
The problem is that whatever small hope has decided to settle in his very core is impossible to kill, no matter how much he pushes it down; and he’s not sure he wants to lose it again.
Secretly, silently, serendipitously, you make him have faith in the future again.
But it’s not time for it yet.

Tumblr media
The waves break around the rocks in the shallows, their foam crests becoming chaotic lace over the blue. You watch it swirl, mesmerized as if the movement of the water choreographs your thoughts. The crunching of the sand tearing you away from your thoughts, the space next to you now becoming occupied. You shifted your body away from them avoiding the inevitable conversation you two were to have. You felt him looking at you, his eyes burning into the side of your face. You were ignoring him and he knew it. He gently rocked his shoulder into yours in hopes of getting your attention, lucky for him it works.
“Why are you here Neteyam?”
“What? I cannot accompany a friend now?”
Rolling your eyes, you set them back on the crashing waves in front of you. The waves swimming up to shore tickling your toes with the slightly cold water.
“If you are looking for Lo’ak, he is with Tsireya.” Irritation hung in your voice, the male did not let this go unnoticed. Though he wanted to question it, he decided to ignore it.
“So that is where he has been all these days…” His voice trailed out in thought. He noticed your body tensed up slightly at the comment, digging your head more into your knees that were pushed up against your chest. Your eyes prickled with tears but you blinked them away before he could notice them. But it was too late. He felt his chest tighten seeing your eyes glaze over in sadness as the setting sun reflected ever so perfectly on the tears that threaten to spill. Reaching out a hand he brushed away a tear that had managed to escape, his lips in a thin line.
“My brother is a skxawng, he will realize what he will lose but until then…it will already be too late.”
His words hit you like a brick. You didn’t want to wait for him to realize it because the more you waited the more you watched him fall for someone else. Scooting closer you nuzzled yourself into his side finding comfort in the warm embrace as his arms immediately wrap around you giving your shoulders a reassuring squeeze. You two stayed like that for some time as you wept in his arms, trying to make amends for your lover. That you were unfortunately losing.
________________
“Neteyam I’m sorry!” You laughed running out of his marui pod, trying to make an escape from the consequences of your actions.
“Oh no, you think I’d let you off the hook for that? No way!” The male chased you even quicker. Laughter erupted from your throat as your feet moved as quickly as possible to get away from him. You peeked over your shoulder to see he was gaining on you rather quickly, and the smile on your face widened even more. Your destination was his parents' Marui pod since you knew that’s where your safety resided, his mother would for sure protect you from him. You hastily jogged up to the pod trying to keep your balance and speed as the walkway wobbled a bit under your feet. You managed to make it to the pod’s opening before you felt hands clasp your waist holding you tightly against their chest, swinging you away from the pods' entrance. You wiggled in his grip while your joined laughter filled the pod while you gasped for air begging him to release you.
“Neteyam put her down.” His mother spoke a smile resting on her face, his father appearing not too shortly behind his wife.
“You heard what your mother said. Put her down boy.”
Nodding he gently placed you back on the ground, but not before poking his tongue out at you, something he had learned from Kiri. You just giggled at the reaction turning towards his parents who held a look wanting either one of you to explain what was happening.
“That’s one hell of a way to say Good Morning. Mind telling me what’s that about?” His father spoke, his tone demanding but not harsh.
“y/n threw water on me while I was sleeping, sir.” Neteyam’s eyes sent you a quick threatening look only to receive a small laugh from you.
“Yeah, that’s because you wouldn’t wake up after you PROMISED me that you’d take me fishing today.” You added in, earning yourself an eye roll from him.
“So you throw water on me? May Ewya help you for what I will do when–”
“Good Morning.” Neteyams' threat was cut off by someone entering the pod.
The wide smile on your face disappeared; just as quickly as your playful demeanor. He greeted his parents before sharing eye contact with you, your stomach now doing somersaults. He nodded at you as a greeting, not daring to give you a proper greeting. You felt small. So small. You were on the verge of nausea as you watched him avoid all sorts of contact with you.
“Lo’ak don’t be rude, speak to y/n.” His mother softly smacked him on the back of his shoulder earning her a low hiss from the male.
“Good morning…y/n.” His eyes stayed fixated on something that wasn’t you, annoyance radiating off of him.
“Good morning lo’ak…Um, Neteyam?” Neteyam was quick to make contact with you, your eyes pleading with him to leave. Quickly he wrapped an arm around your shoulder and swiftly turned you away from the others to avoid them seeing the tears that were now falling so freely while you bit your lip so hard trying your best to stop them.
“We will be back before eclipse. I promise.” He swore to his parents nodding at them and smiling, but not before he shot his brother a deadly glare, only to see his brother already held one against him. Wiping his head back around he guided you out of the pod making sure to keep your head down as he whispered sweet reassuring words to you along the way.
__________________
“Syeha si ulte….lonu.”  The arrow flew from your bow grazing your fingertips lightly during the release, only for you to miss your target…again. Whining you turned your head to Neteyam who was trying very hard not to laugh at your failure.
“Laugh it up while you can, mighty warrior.” Your tongue poked out at him tauntingly after “warrior”, though he cleared his throat his smile never left his face when he approached you. He stood behind you turning your body so your back lay against his chest, his hands guiding your arms back into your shooting stance.
“Your arms should be straight, or you’ll miss your target again.” His hands held underneath your arms gently smoothing over the skin underneath them before pushing them upwards. “Take a deep breath and hold it. It must come from your stomach or it will not work.” Bringing his other hand down he gently pushed on your stomach causing your body to tense up immediately, you found yourself holding your breath for another reason.
“Mawey, your heartbeat is fast. No wonder you cannot catch any fish.” He joked, his breath hitting the shell of your ear due to the close proximity you two were in. Shaking your head you tried to distract yourself from how close you two were. Straightening your posture, you sucked in a deep breath making sure to hold it in just as instructed locking eyes on your wiggling target and–
“Ahem.” Someone cleared their throat halting your motion. You both turn your head towards the person responsible for the noise, only to be met by the one person you didn’t want to speak to but also a person you yearned deeply for.
“Sorry for uh… disrupting you two but can I talk to y/n?” Lo’ak watched as Neteyam refused to take a step away from you making him bite the inside of his cheek in annoyance.
“Alone.”
The older brother never moved from your side, his body now shielding you in a way. The tension in the air felt thick, so thick not even a knife would be able to pierce it. You placed your hand on his arm giving it a squeeze to grab his attention, “Neteyam.” Your voice soft, his head turning down towards you his eyes immediately softening almost as if they were pleading with you.
“I’ll be fine.” You tried your best to give him a smile, just enough for him to let you go. It was obvious your smile didn’t convince him, huffing his mouth turned into a thin line before nodding at you moving further to the opposite side to let you go. You nodded at him once more before following behind a rather fuming lo’ak.
_______________________
“Lo’ak!”
The boy ignored you as he walked fast in front of you slapping things out of his as he passed them. You tried your hardest to keep up but there was no way your speed equaled anything to his big long strides. Jogging a little you gained a bit of closeness to him his hand just in reach for you to grab.
“Lo’ak wait–”
“What?!” He snapped at you angrily turning towards you. You felt like a turtle going back into its shell with his tone. A tone he has never used with you.
“I just wanted you to slow down, you’re walking too fast.” Your voice sounded so little making his ears flick downwards.
“Where are we going anyway?”
“Our usual spot…We need to talk–about us.” A familiar ache started to churn in your stomach at these words. Your thoughts become jumbled up in your mind of all the possible outcomes of this conversation.
Was he finally going to tell others of your relationship?
Or…
Did he finally want to call it quits?
Mindlessly you followed him deeper into the closed-in cave area, the familiar scenery coming into your view not too long after you both decided to keep walking. You looked into the glowing water smiling faintly at the glimmering goldfish that rushed to the surface upon your arrival, seeming excited to see you again. You almost bumped into the back of lo’ak not realizing he had stopped moments ago, you stared confusingly at his back before his voice caught your attention.
“What were you and brother doing before I arrived?” You blinked at him confusingly. Turning his body fully towards you now, his face completely ruined by the anger that he was trying so desperately to keep inside. The confusion on your face seemed to anger him more than he already was causing him to roll his eyes at you.
“You and my brother. You’re way too close to be “just friends”, every time I see you two your both so close to each other!”
You and Neteyam were friends. That was it. There were no romantic feelings involved once so ever whenever you two conversed. At least that’s how you saw it on your end.
“If you are asking if I and neteyam ever did anything with each other the answer is no.” You were starting to take offense to the accusations he kept spuing out at you, rendering you into irritation at the boy.
“Really? Because that’s so hard to believe when I see his hands all over you a few moments ago. And from the looks of it, you weren’t moving them any time soon!”
“He was teaching me how to fish!”
“Why him? You could’ve asked me. Me! Your boyfriend!”
“Well, I can’t ask my boyfriend if he’s never around when I need him!”
You didn’t notice that your breathing had started to pick up or even notice how the image of him standing in front of you became blurry from the water that swelled up in your eyes.
“Or when he’s not with tsireya showing her all the things that you showed me!  Or–or ditching our plans for tsireya because she wants to go look at the stars with you!” The gentle wind from a small opening in the cave blew past your face making you feel the coldness from the tears that now overflowed from your eyes.
“It’s always tsireya, tsireya, tsireya! Never me! I’m never your first choice anymore.” Your chest heaved up and down rapidly as your feelings felt like they were oozing out of you, your mouth just could not stop projecting all the feelings you had bottled up for so long.
“Neteyam has been there for me when you weren’t. Night after night, day after day, HE has always been there. Not you lo’ak. And guess what? He’s cleaning up the mess you made…AGAIN.” Your last words held so much power, you knew those words were going to sting but, you needed him to hear them. Hear how much pain he has caused because of his absence. Hear what a mess he’s made of you. The scenarios of them interacting start to flood your mind, the acts of kindness and love the two radiated gave off a familiar feeling that you two once shared. You swallowed your fear down as a fearful question bubbled up in your throat.
“Have–have you two done anything?”
Silence. All you were met with was silence. But this was all you needed to finally make sense of his recurring disappearances. Your face scrunched up in disgust, your tears now producing more than they have ever before.
“I knew it…” Swiftly you turned away from him almost jogging your way out of the small hideaway area, ignoring his calls out to you. You didn’t want to hear a thing he had to say anymore, his silence spoke loudly for him already.
“y/n, listen to m-” His hand caught your wrist trying his best to make you look at him, instead you jerked your arm away from his grip harshly.
“Rä'ä!” The anger in your voice shook him, you never raised your voice at him, though he knew he deserved this. He made a mistake and he needed you to understand that.
“You do not get to touch me anymore. You do not even need to think about me anymore.”
His ears dropped dramatically, his tail hiding in between his legs. It was now his turn to breathe heavily, his brain not wanting to believe the words you were throwing at him.
“Please, just let me explain what happ-”
“You have explained enough lo’ak. Now go, go before tsireya starts wondering about your whereabouts.” You turned away from him only to be stopped by him once more.
“I don’t care about tsireya right now! Dammit just listen to me!” His voice shook massively, his eyes pleading desperately at you almost making you push your hurt and anger to the side and wrap him back in your arms that you wanted him back desperately in. Almost.
“Goodbye lo’ak.” You took your arm away from his hold once again ignoring his pleas for you to come back. Your heart ached hearing how desperate he sounded for you, though you needed him to learn. You needed him to learn that someone’s heart is not something to gamble with.
He needed to learn from all the mistakes he made.

love was the law | reneé rapp.
Tumblr media
warnings: religious household, internal homophobia, denial, angst and i think thats it.
summary: she was your childhood bsf, but you grew differently… what happens when you aren’t able to control yourself anymore? well, you truly saw the consequences of that.
Tumblr media
“why does my skin starts to burn?”
that’s the only thought that would keep you up all night, was it so wrong? but why you couldn’t get enough of her?
— months before.
you and reneé had been best friends for almost your entire existence, she had always been your home, your safe space.
You truly believed that nothing would ever keep you away from each other, well, you were wrong.
since you two started growing up, she had always been that rebellious kid, and you? you were your parents babydoll, always dressed in pink, bows all over your hair, long shiny skirts… while she always dressed boyish, and it annoyed your parents, really annoyed them.
you were in your junior year of high school, reneé was in her senior, she was two years older than you, you two had changed, and you could help but blush around her, she always treated you so nicely, you just thought of her all the time. this is normal isn’t it? she is your best friend, is normal to want her all the time.. to shiver each time her hands acidentally brush your thighs.
her being older wouldn’t matter to you, but it did to your parents.
can you picture an extremely religious household? well you could, because you lived in one, your best friend always invited you to do stuff and you were almost locked inside your house 24/7.
she had invited you to an party, but you politely said no, knowing that you couldn’t go even if you wanted to.
well, she didn’t listen this time, and now you were staring at your window, in panic.
reneé climbed an fucking tree.
she was outside your fucking window.
you were so fucking screwed.
“what are you waiting for?? open this up!” she whispered loud enough for you to hear and almost freak out, as soon as you opened the window, she slowly entered your bedroom
“what are you doing were?! it’s 10pm i need to sleep!!” you said, extremely paranoid that your parents would hear something, you felt your body burning around her, as she stared at you up and down with an smirk
“you are going to that party, its my eighteen birthday, you have to go.” she said with an whiny tone, almost begging for you to go
“ren you know that I can’t…” you said breaking the eye contact, feeling embarrassed
“hey, look at me” she gently touched your hands, holding your pinky finger “i will bring you back in less than 2 hours okay? pinky promise.” she said looking deeply at your eyes, her gaze always made your heart race and you didn’t understand why.
“okay.. but i don’t know what to wear, and i know your friends would make fun of me if i showed up with any of my pink dresses.” you knew that reneé’s friends were the cool kids, you truly couldn’t understand why she even sticked by your side.
“do you think i didn’t thought about that?” she said with an cozy smile, giggling as she handed you an pink top with a little bow, delicate lacy details, and some of her pants… “mastermind here babe.” she says in an cocky tone, giggling. but you just blushed heavily with the nickname, she would normally just call you ‘bunny’, ‘darling’…
“do you bought this top just for me? its not something you would usually have in your wardrobe…” you giggle shyly, she was usually with baggy clothes, nothing that feminine and delicate.
“yep, im not such a princess like you are, now go get dressed, i cant be late to my own party” she giggled pushing you to your closet, as you dresses the outfit she gave you… the top was tight, tight enough to make a little bit of your chest show.
you really wanted to wear it so you put an white jacket on top of it. as you walked out of the closet, reneé just stared at you.
“you’re gorgeous bunny” she said getting closer to you and grabbing your hand “ready to go?” you quickly nod your head as she helps you jump your own window.
— 1 hour after.
she didn’t leave your side, but you could feel all the looks her friends gave you, it made you want to cry. as soon as you could, you locked yourself in the bathroom.
“what’s wrong with me?”
that’s all you could think, until you heard an knock on the door. “bunny? are you in there? let me in” you opened the door to find reneé with her messy blonde hair and her deep blue eyes staring at you.
“what happened? did someone said something to you? are you okay?” she said feeling your sad gaze, she stared at you with genuine concern. but you didn’t say nothing, you just look down as she surprises you by wrapping her both arms around your sides, hugging you tightly.
you couldn’t do nothing but hug her back and shiver with her warmth… you felt your heart racing, your body trembling, your legs slightly shaking. you finally stared at her, but not in an usual way, you couldn’t control yourself, you just followed your instincts. you were tired of holding back what you craved for years.
“bunny? what are you doin-“ she tried to say before you interrupted her with your lips on her mouth, she was surprised but she kissed you back. you didn’t have any experience in this, the kiss started in a sloppy way until she started to control it. reneé’s hands started to go down your sides, landing on your waist.
the kiss was slow, soft, passionate… until you back down and stared at her in disbelief. “i-im sorry” you said as she stared at you with an smirk “stop it bunny, you don’t imagine how long i was waiting to do this” her smirk disappeared as tears started going down your face.
“this is wrong, i need to go, i need to go home” you said frenetically, almost having an panic attack.
“w-wait, what?” she says not understanding why you were so freaked out
“i can’t be like this, i-i can’t be a lesbian, i literally can’t, i am a good girl i-i need to act like one… f-fuck why i feel like my skin is burning”
you walked out of the bathroom, leaving her alone there as she tried to follow you, you started almost running. “y/n! please come here!” she says tearing up as she runs towards you, when she can finally catch your arm she tries not to cry.
“i-i can take you home, please don’t do this to me bunny, please.” she says tearing apart as she could feel your denial.
“m-my parents were right.. i c-can’t be your friend ren… i-i dream of eternal life, i can’t end up going to hell… i c-cant sin like this.” you said sobbing, backing off as she tries to walk towards you.
“bunny i love you, please, loving someone can’t be the wrong thing to do, right?” she looked at you forcing an smile “right?” she started sobbing as you kept quiet
“god wouldn’t approve us, h-he didnt made me to do such things…. religion is almost the law.” you said sobbing less then before
“love will always be the law, religion is taught.” she says, trying to make you stay.
“i can’t do this, i-im sorry ren.” you said as you continued to walk away from there, with tears rolling down your cheeks. You looked back, seeing her staring at you from a far, like she was waiting for you to come back and hug her again, tell her its okay and you can still be friends. but it didn’t happened.
you came back to your house, sleeping on top of your soaked bible… you cried yourself to sleep that night. the guilt was inside of you, you felt dirty, gross, unlovable. Why you felt like this? why couldn’t you be like her and love who you want to?
you just couldn’t let yourself be like this, you had to be “perfect”, and perfect girls don’t kiss other girls… right?
— 4 years later.
For all these years, the only thing you did was fighted with all the thoughts that made you believe that you need to be “perfect”… one of those things was leaving your parents house and moving to college.
You still remembered her, i think the only thing you couldn’t remember is anytime when she wasn’t in your thoughts. You stalked her on social media, you knew that she had a new girlfriend, you were truly happy for her, besides the thought..
“what would happen if I didn’t runned away that night? what would happen if i didn’t ghosted her? that could be me?”
but the hardest one was thinking that shes right, she deserves someone who had always been ready to show the world what they are… someone unlike you, someone better. that was what made you cry to sleep almost all night.
your college was an really good one, you had a wonderful roommate and you were following your dreams, isn’t that beautiful? well, now you were free from your household and from yourself… but something brought you back there.
“y/n? is it you?”
you heard her voice, reneé’s voice;
and you felt your heart racing just like before;
you’re so fucking screwed.

AVATAR MASTERLIST |Part 1 , Part 2, Part 3 | Part 4
Tumblr media
"Neteyam you have to stop" you try to pull him away from you, but the man was foolish. He kept kissing your neck, while moving down towards your thighs. taking it in his hands and making space for his face to be kissing the inside of it. "we can do something quick and then we go there" says neteyam, as he continues his work. You want to push him away, but he has much more strength than you. He continues on his way, until you reach your intimacy. You look up to see Neteyam put his nose on your already wet panties and inhale deeply. "mmm you always smell so good" neteyam laughs, moving the fabric of your panties to the side. Until you slammed your legs closed. " Now, stop…. I have to put on some pants" you say annoyed, as you manage to get out of his grip. It's not like you didn't want neteyam to eat you out right now, but the very thought of their mother out there waiting for them was killing you.
Neteyam got up and was watching you look for some pants. You got some sweatshirts, and you were already halfway through, when neteyam grabbed you by the waist and sat you on his lap. "ma Y/N" he's squealing in your ear. You hated that he was bigger than you sometimes, he could move you with ease. "nete…really" you feel his wet kisses on the back of your neck, and his hands under your shirt. Squeezing your breasts, placing his other hand on your waist to make you move over his lap, looking for a little friction. " you look so pretty…so pretty."
"why don't they come?" shouts neytiri, the woman was furious, it wasn't because of you. If it was about you, you were a human and neteyam was a navi. Or was it the simple fact that she had her son on a pedestal of virginity. "They sure are making up" norm tries to defuse the situation. Jake gives him a look. "Those two are making babies!!!" jake jokes a little. "WHAT????" Neytiri looks at her husband with a fulminating look. " calm down, love…look at me. They'll explain." Jake holds her by the shoulders. Jake already suspected something about you two, but said nothing.
You two peeked out the door. Neytiri wanted to kill you both, Norm was scared and Jake was…he was just there. "What were you doing?" shouts Neytiri approaching her son. " well…mom, you know what " neteyam was already getting nervous. "I know what you were doing….but" neytiri didn't know what to say. " The question here is …. how long have you been doing this?" asks norm, walking in between you. He didn't want anyone to get hurt. "mmm 6 months" you speak. "6 months!!!??" jake repeats somewhat surprised. " 6 months since we've been dating, but that would be 10 months in total" neteyam says laughing nervously.
"Ahh good thing only 10 months!!!!" Speaks jake with a sarcastic tone, while raising his hands in the air. "You know this isn't right… Y/N is a human and you are a navi. How is that possible?" neytiri is looking at you two and scolding you. You are side by side. "You have managed all these months" norm speaks. "How is it physically possible?" Jake asks and looks at Norm trying to find a sensible answer. " Well… Y/N's body is no different than a navi woman's so…" you hit neteyam, you didn't want him to be talking about how he fits and how you guys do your thing.
Neytiri was disconcerted, she was walking back and forth. I knew it was impossible to separate you two, but I just don't think like you do. "I just hope this doesn't lead to any other consequences," says neytiri. "Like a baby?" asks norm. "I don't think it's possible, but if it is… how cute they would be?" says jake, laughing a little and looking at everyone. Neytiri comes out of the lab annoyed… norm runs after her. You two stand there, looking at jake.
"I'm going to go to my room" you say as you give neteyam's hand a squeeze. Jake and neteyam stand there in silence. " sir… I can explain" neteyam tries to speak. " Son…." Jake reaches over and grabs his son by both shoulders. "You are many women's fantasy… I am proud" neteyam doesn't know what to say. "What are you talking about?" neteyam asks. "You go with your girl, I'll take care of your mother" jake pats him, and walks out of the lab. Neteyam stands there, silent. "what the hell is going on" he thinks to himself.
You were already in your room, you knew that this whole subject was going to be a topic of conversation in the whole family. Oh god, when the guys found out, because you were sure they were going to find out. Neteyam came into the room, he saw that you were sitting on the edge of the bed. "Dad, he just told me that I'm a lot of women's fantasy" you laugh at neteyam. "Well…he's kind of right" you say, as neteyam walks over to you. "Yeah? And how is that possible?" asks neteyam, positioning himself between your legs and pushing you down onto the bed. You laugh as he begins to remove your pants. "Well, big boy… let's just say you're quite the specimen" your voice was breathy, neteyam already had his hands under your panties. Tracing gentle circles to your clit, your back is arched.
Neteyam kisses that sweet spot on your neck, while he grunts, humping his hips on the bed. "Neteyam…you can" you moan, the boy grabs your jaw with his free hand. " Honey, I have to get you ready first" he speaks, as he dips a finger into your wetness. Instinctively you give him a sloppy kiss on the lips, he kisses you back. You are crying out as he slowly pumps in and out, while his thumb circles your clit. "Nete…" you moan. Neteyam pulls his fingers out and makes you suck them, for him to continue sucking them. "You see… you taste exquisite" The sight is pleasant, as he laughs, and slips his fingers back into your pussy, making you tremble from the coldness of his saliva, and tastes you again.
His hands move to your waist, and he makes a quick movement so that he is now on the bottom and now you were right on top of him, sitting on top of his growing erection. You start to grin. You start to take off your shirt, and leave it somewhere on the floor. Neteyam is touching any part of your body he can reach. "Do you want me to ride you?" you say while humping on his loincloth. Neteyam's hips rise in the air, as if seeking your touch. You reach up to his face and give him a wet kiss. Neteyam's ears were purple, you could see that he was flushed, his pupils were dilated and he was purring below you.
Knock, knock, knock, you both look towards the door. "I swear…if you don't stop I'm going to separate you two for 4 months" shouts norm on the other side of the door. You two look at each other and laugh. Neteyam ignores him and gives you another soft kiss on the lips.
p.s: This is a short part 2, but I still hope you like it. I'm so bad at writing smut, ahhhhhhh I blush myself.
