About An Official Spiderverse Artist...
Please do not just scroll past this post; read it.
If you guys follow me on twitter, you probably already know.
But if you dont or still want to read this anyway - here you go:
I aint big, but I got a growing platform that I see as important for me to use as a force for things that matter.
So here I am.
And I got something to say about a certain "artist".
There are so many fucked up people who call themselves artists who are so heavily worshipped by us who both get and or dont get outed in the world for things they do and for their general piss-poor behaviours and persons.
Im here to talk about one in particular (and certainly wont be the last).
There is an artist that basically EVERYONE here has seen art from before, printed in the official Sony artbooks too.
If you have seen this:
Then you have seen this artist before.
His name is Alberto Mielgo. He goes by @/pinkman_himself on twitter.
He is a HUGE part of the art direction and stylisation of the spiderverse movies, if that isnt already obvious. Because he was the former original art director of Into The Spiderverse.
Yes. Former.
Cuz he got "mYsTeRiOuSlY fiReD" from Sony 2 years into pre-production and completely removed from the project.
You may have also seen this character before:
Yes. THAT asian character from Netflix's Love Death + Robots, from the episode "The Witness".
Familiar? Yeah. Because this episode was also made by the same guy, Mielgo.
I aint going to talk about what happens in that episode and hesitate to encourage anyone to watch it - cuz all it basically is is a megalo-misogynistic, assault "glorified for the sake of aRtT", racially fetishised showcase of this crazy makeup/haired bdsm stereotyped asian girl sex worker who essentially gets murdered over and over and over after running for her life completely naked through the city for all of us to see for some fucking reason.
BUt yeah anyways, you can see it in the first pic, but Ill put it here to show more clearly - this here is NOT the character from LDR. But I can understand why you might think so:
Yeah. You read that name in the bottom right corner correctly. This is Peni Parker. His concept art of Peni Parker. A 13 YEAR OLD CHILD. Lookin suspiciously like and dressed as the adult person from LDR with ALSO the crazy hair, make up - WITH AN O-RING CHOKER AND BALL-GAG LIPSTICK (BDSM).
13. year. old. child.
This man only sees east asian women this way.
He likes them crazy, sexy, broken--
and young.
Cuz this man also wrote this on a now-deleted post on his website:
Yeah. He, this whole ass middle-aged white cishet male spaniard thirstin for kids since he was 18 for 12 year old girls.
Cuz 12 year old girls are a fuckin "KNOCK OUT" when they grow up, when they ripen up into adulthood, to this man Alberto Mielgo, aka @/pinkman_himself, this creature.
And if auctioning NFTs isnt bad enough (cuz yes, ofc he does that too - its literally the first option on his website) -
His entire fucking portfolio is of drawing women he had sex with.
His fucking PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO is all of painting and drawing women in very compromising, questionable ways of the VERY SAME WOMEN HE HAD SLEPT WITH THROUGH HIS LIFE.
They look as creepy as they are.
But the scariest part?
While I myself had only just found out about this some days ago as of writing this, some of us have known about this man and his antics for years.
And he keeps getting greenlit by the industry, over and over and over; winning awards, getting respected, praised, admired, even by fellow at-home artists like many of you out there if you dont already do so.
And nothing will happen to him cuz he is a white cishet male artist who has money and a following and connections and influence and power.
So yeah.
I just wanted to talk about a certain official Spiderverse artist to just let yall know there are freaks everywhere, and that no matter how small it is, it's people like me and you who need to do what we can to keep up awareness and warn our communities and protect our most vulnerable.
My suggestion is to take heed of what I said, ask questions about everything you will ever see again from anyone around you, no less the industry, THINK for once, and actually give a fuck.
Keep away.
Do not support this man.
But the decision is ultimately yours.
Stay awake, yall.
-------
(His face, publicly available as his imdb profile):
scary.
#have your truth but do not go harass this guy#jodido pedazo de mierda.#alberto mielgo#reblog to spread the word#likes dont do a lot#stay awake.#across the spiderverse#across the spiderverse fanart#into the spider verse#ATSV#ITSV#spiderman#spiderverse#concept art#art#psa#artists to block#marvel#sony#animation#pinkman_himself#love death and robots#netflix#im fucking tired of this shit.#dont miss this man for his artstyle - just take his artstyle for yourself and make it your own.#if you are a decent human being#you are already leagues better than this shite could ever be.#just take his technique and make it better by making it your own. thats it.#we wont miss you mielgo.#bai.

Possible Mia Ikumi Doujin Penname
First off, thanks to @berrychanx who found the initial doujin listing and @kuro93 who I know also looked into this and bought some of her works! Second off, warning for some suggestive doujin covers and other art, although there's nothing truly explicit.
First things first, I want to say that I sat on this information for a little bit considering if it was appropriate to speculate since Ikumi never chose to make this connection publicly. Ultimately I've decided to go through with it since imo the artstyle is instantly recognizable, so it'd come out eventually. I also found some still-up online accounts associated with this penname, and I know that's a thing the fandom has wanted to see for a long time. I'd ask that you please be respectful with this info and keep in mind it is NOT confirmed and that Mia Ikumi has passed away.
I'd also like to make clear that I'm totally uninterested in trying to figure out her birth name or track down any other personal info on her life that she didn't choose to share in doujin, her website, manga notes, interviews, etc. That feels very out of line. Finding other pennames can help us fans catalogue more of her work, but finding her real identity does nothing but violate her privacy.
So that's kind of where I'm at right now. If you feel differently about whether it's right to speculate on Ikumi's doujin works, or if you don't want to see anything even a little suggestive, please turn back now.
We know for sure that Mia Ikumi was a penname, since that was confirmed in ads for Re-Turn when she changed one of the characters.
征海美亜 *征海未亜よりペンネーム変更されました Ikumi Mia *Ikumi Mia yori penneemu henkou saremashita Mia Ikumi (征海美亜) *[Her] penname was changed/altered/revised from Mia Ikumi (征海未亜)
Prior to her return to Nakayoshi with some TMM anniversary art and then the 2020 Re-Turn short, the last work she published under that name was Koi Cupid, way back in 2005-08.
There's always been speculation as to whether she continued drawing manga under a different penname, but there was never any official word from her once her website went down, since she was not active under that name under any social media or on Pixiv. We also had no idea how her art might have evolved in the years since her last official release, so there was no guarantee we'd recognize any work of hers if we saw it. The first anyone saw of her art post-website was back in 2015 when she drew some art of Ichigo and then Ichigo, Mint, and Lettuce for the 60th anniversary of Nakayoshi.
https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/132481043559/more-nakayoshi-60th-anniversary-mew-mew-art-from https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/118704238761/ichigo-momomiya-in-her-cafe-mew-mew-uniform-drawn https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/130755109662/new-picture-of-ichigo-minto-retasu-drawn-by
As you can see, this art featured a pretty different art style than she'd had 2 decades back.
(Sidenote: it seems she also did some art for the 55th anniversary, back in 2010, but this is much closer to the dates when she was working under the Mia Ikumi name and has roughly the same art style as OG TMM: https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/151430694480/doodles-of-ichigo-and-berry-drawn-by-mia-ikumi )
Obviously, starting in 2019, she then went on to release the two-shot manga TMM 2020 Re-Turn, some miscellaneous promo art (Blu-ray bonus comic, Alice in Wonderland merch, Smewthie fanart, etc.), and finally new covers and bonus comics for most of the rereleased manga volumes before her passing. Between the works she published in the 90s-early 2000s and all of this new art, we have a pretty good sample size of her artstyle over time. So it was only a matter of time before someone stumbled on something familiar looking…
Berrychanx found a listing (https://jp.mercari.com/item/m11046282201 ) for an Idolmaster doujin called Room Fight! created as a collab between 2 doujin circles/artists: Nameless Color (ねーむれすからー) and Komomo+ (こももぷらす), published by Poco Poco in 2014. The seller specifically noted that the style looks very similar to Mia Ikumi's, and it's very hard to argue! The hands especially look the way that Ikumi has always drawn them, and the eyes, facial expressions, and hair shading is pretty much one to one for Re-Turn.
Nameless Color has some other works, but they aren't in this same artstyle at all. Therefore, the one whose style matches Mia Ikumi's is Komomo+.
https://doujinrepublic.com/product/tag_page.html?tags=85361&ref=product_page&type=rel_tag_circle
As far as I can tell, the doujin circle is named Poco Poco, and the artist's penname is Komomo Kozakura (小桜小桃) or later Komomo (小桃) or Komomo+ (written as こももぷらす). There's a lot of variation in which spelling is used across doujin sites, and sometimes Komomo is listed as the circle name rather than Poco Poco, but I'm unsure as to whether this is a change in how presumed-Ikumi branded herself or just a lack of organization in the websites. Also, the Room Fight! doujin is categorized under komomo+ (https://www.suruga-ya.jp/product/detail/ZHORE153927) and under Komomo Kozakura (https://ecs.toranoana.jp/tora/ec/item/040030276511/ ), so I’m sure they’re the same person and not just 2 people in the same circle.
Here are the titles I could find under all of these names across various websites in approximate publishing order:
https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=&ck=true&inStock=On&person_id=1051050 https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=&ck=true&inStock=On&person_id=2874482 https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=&person_id=2864627 https://ecs.toranoana.jp/tora/ec/cot/circle/LUPA2D6P8476d16Qd687/all/
The main fandoms are Idolmaster, Kantai Collection, and Strike Witches. It's immediately obvious how much they look like Ikumi's style, from small details like the faces to larger things like how she tends to pose characters on her covers. They range from 2008-2016, and you can see that earlier works look a little more like her TMM-era art while later stuff is way more Re-Turn.
So is that all the new info? Do we need to track down and buy these doujin to get any more new info on Mia Ikumi? Well, that’s definitely a thing you can do! But there’s one other avenue.
You see, the title page of Girls Fight! does lead to a now defunct webpage: pocopoco.sblo.jp
https://web.archive.org/web/20081201000000*/pocopoco.sblo.jp
The Wayback Machine has 5 captures for this website: 12/31/08, 2/25/11, 6/3/13, 4/25/16, and 3/14/23. The latest one just shows the same error page not found message as if you try and go to the site now, but the others all have blog entries ranging from 2008 to the end of 2015 (i.e., starting RIGHT after the end of Koi Cupid/Mia Ikumi's professionally published/official manga career).
https://web.archive.org/web/20090103031628/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/article/20797588.html https://web.archive.org/web/20160425011557/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/article/170290508.html
Mostly these posts are either drawings or advertisements for a new book she's selling at a con or online by mail order, so there’s a whole bunch of new art. (Warning: there's nothing outright nsfw, but some of these images are probably the most suggestive ones I link in this post, moreso than even most of the doujin covers. Use your own judgment!) The rest of the posts are personal diary entries.
(Sidenote: I am NOT going to translate this whole blog because there’s a whole bunch of text! I looked through the available pages, and the auto-translated version is fine for getting a basic understanding. If you have questions about a specific post, feel free to ask, though! Right off the bat, the text on the big image at the top of the earlier captures, the one with the green-haired catgirl in a red outfit, is just a paraphrasing of the post where she explains her categories/tags to help you navigate the site https://web.archive.org/web/20090103030651/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/article/21376253.html )
This website, crucially, also links to Komomo's pixiv account (Username: 小桃/Komomo), which is still up!
https://www.pixiv.net/users/3966440
(I was logged in when I accessed the page, so it's possible you may need an account to view it. Please do keep in mind this is not an account publicly associated with Ikumi/TMM and that the owner is likely deceased. We don't need to leave random comments and messages.)
The oldest picture is from 2012, when she created it (she posts about this), and the most recent picture is from 2018, so you can really see the artstyle shift here as well. There is no reference to TMM or Mia Ikumi anywhere.
The blog also links to her NicoNico page (Username: 小桃/Komomo), where she posted a few Vocaloid covers from 5/16/10 to 6/4/11.
https://www.nicovideo.jp/user/16890918/
She talks about uploading these covers on her blog under her utattemita/”I tried singing” tag: https://web.archive.org/web/20160425011607/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/category/907578-1.html
So, the art definitely matches with what we know of Mia Ikumi’s art, both from published works and stuff posted online to her official website, ikumimia.chu.jp (Hika posted some of the website art here and here if you aren’t familiar)
(As a tangent, that website seems to have been created at or before 5/7/07 and gone offline sometime between 7/1/10 and 7/27/11, so there was definitely a period where she was working under both identities at once…)
But is there any other info linking Komomo and Mia Ikumi?
The site doesn't give much personal detail about Komomo irl, but it does say she was born in spring, and Mia Ikumi's birthday was March 27th.
プロフィール 名前小桜小桃です。 一言:春生まれです。 Profile My name is Komomo Kozakura. In a word, I was born in spring.
There's also a diary entry about her getting a Scottish fold kitten for her mom in 2008 after the family cat passed away 2 years back. We know from the bonus comics in the TMM manga that Mia Ikumi had a Scottish fold.
スコティッシュフォールドという種類のキャリコなお嬢さん。 A calico lady called a Scottish fold.
https://web.archive.org/web/20081231223544/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/category/627816-1.html
Komomo also says she’s interested in gothic lolita clothing and that she dresses up at events. We know Mia Ikumi also dressed up for events, since that’s in her bio, and she drew her outfits in manga bonus page.
*ゴスロリの部屋* 小桜小桃の趣味のページです。主に持っている服やアイテム、欲しいモノの紹介、ゴスロリに関する事とかも書いていこうと思います。 *Gothic Lolita Room* A page about Komomo Kozakura’s hobby. Mainly I’ll write about clothing items I own, stuff I want, and things related to gothic lolita fashion.
https://web.archive.org/web/20160425154652/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/category/627812-1.html
今回のコミケはカゼのため、コスとかせずに防寒重視でいったのですが Because I had a cold at this Comiket, I went without any kind of costume to focus on keeping warm
https://web.archive.org/web/20160425154658/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/category/627816-1.html
Between the art, the timeline of when things were posed vs Ikumi's public career, and the small bits of overlapping info on the artists' lives, I'm very confident that Mia Ikumi and Komomo Kozakura are two pennames for the same artist.
As for why, we can only speculate. I will say it's pretty common for artists to use a different penname for doujin work vs professional work, although some keep it more secret than others. It's especially common if the doujin work is more risque than the professional, which is the case here. I'll also say that almost all of Ikumi's post-TMM works were fairly short. Only One Wish may have been imagined as a one-volume anthology from the start, but it seems like TMM a La Mode and Repure may have been canceled early based on rushed endings with a lack of follow-up on plot points. Comi Digi +, the magazine in which Koi Cupid was published, got discontinued in 2008, presumably ending that series early as well. Ikumi also seems pretty annoyed with her editor in the a La Mode bonus comics, so possibly she was frustrated with baggage of the Mia Ikumi identity and wanted a fresh start.
Possibly she stopped putting out work around 2018 or possibly she started working under another penname. Maybe that was when Nakayoshi got in contact with her to begin planning for ReTurn, Ole/Au Lait, New, the TMM Blu-ray, the manga re-release, etc.
In conclusion, it seems like there are many more works by the artist known as Mia Ikumi than we'd thought previously, plus slightly more of a web presence, although this seems to have ended years before the TMM 20th anniversary renaissance. It's possible there are more accounts under the Komomo/小桃 name or under another penname that might be found in the future.

Sanremo 2024 - the post!
Hello everyone! Here you’ll find this year’s Sanremo’s stuff and news (I’ll be uploading this post through all the week). The Festival will start on Tuesday February 6th at 8:30 pm (it’ll probably have a 5 minutes “anteprima = preview” every night), and end on Saturday February 10th, when the final will be broadcasted.
/ Official website / you can find loads of videos and interviews here + the latest news. You can already find the presentation videos of the songs made by the artists.
Rai’s website dedicated section (here) | youtube playlist | spotify playlist
TikTok official channel: @/sanremorai; @/sanremoesc Instagram official: @/sanremorai Twitter official: @/SanremoRAI; @/SanremoESC Facebook: festivaldisanremo
Also this year we’ll have the PrimaFestival, the small show broadcasted on Rai1 at around 8:30 p.m. (February 4th - February 10th). The hosts are Paola & Chiara (singers), Mattia Stanga and Daniele Cabras (tiktokers).
There's gonna be some kind of Dopofestival, with Fiorello and Alessia Marcuzzi (tv/radio host) called “Viva Rai2!… Viva Sanremo” (jingle/sigla) right after the end of each Sanremo's night (6th-9th Feb.). Gli Autogol (comedians soccer-related) will complete some missions for Amadeus on Raiplay.
CasaSanremo- A website about Sanremo and all the artists who will take part, with more infos and interviews (also Italian places and food specialties will be shown). Follow them also on their Social Media Channels, usually they make live video/interviews/shows on FB for example.
On Sorrisi&Canzoni you will find also other infos about Sanremo and every lyrics’s explanation (ofc ask me if you need a translation)
The # on this blog is #sanremo 2024, #sanremo, #sanremo2024 you can black any of these (the first one in particular) if you want.
To watch it live:
Raiuno -> just click on the first video on the left, or here, to open the Raiuno streaming immediately (I added the whole Rai channels things in case you had troubles connecting directly and wanted to try from there). The RAI’s geoblock is usually removed for Sanremo’s week, no need to create accounts or whatsoever to enjoy Sanremo online!! Remember you can rewatch the whole event and each performance on Raiplay few minutes after it has happened (and the whole week will be avaiable as well for basically the whole following year).
FESTIVAL LIS - songs and whole exhibition explained in signs language
FANTASANREMO - this year as well you can play while enjoying your Sanremo! How does it work? Every person “buys” 5 artisti and marks one of them as a captain. As in the last years, artists will have to do or say something while on stage to help you gain points (and also classification will have a say).
I’ll try to write down some more infos/links through the week.
——-
Hosts & Guests + Other Stuff
This years’ host will still be Amadeus (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host. He will be accompanied by a different co-host each night: Marco Mengoni (singer; first night); Giorgia (singer; second night); Teresa Mannino (actress, comedian; third night); Lorella Cuccarini (actress, tv host, dancer, dance teacher in AMICI tv show; fourth night); Fiorello (tv and radio host, comedian, singer; last night).
Some of the one-night guests during the week will be: John Travolta (actor, dancer); Giovanni Allevi (musician); Marco Mengoni (singer); Sabrina Ferilli (actress); Giorgia (singer) will celebrate her song "E poi"'s 30th anniversary; Russel Crowe (actor, singer); Eros Ramazzotti (singer) will celebrate his song "Una terra promessa"'s 40th anniversary; Roberto Bolle (dancer); the cast of "Mameli" (new serie about the guy who wrote our National anthem); Leo Gassman (actor, singer); the cast of "Il Mare fuori" (Raiplay serie); The Nuova Orchestra Santa Balera to celebrate "Romagna Mia"'s 70th anniversary; Gigliola Cinquetti (singer) will celebrate her song "Non ho l'età"'s 60th anniversary.
How it works
There will be 30 singers in the ARTISTI (artists) section. It will be the only section, as last year. 27 artists were chosen by Amadeus, while the other 3 are the winners of Sanremo Giovani (held in December 2023). The winner of the competition will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest: if he/she/they won’t accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified or the next (the first one accepting). This year we're gonna listen to all the 30 songs on the first night. The 2nd and 3rd night, we'll get to listen to 15 songs each night. The artisti that are not performing during the 2nd night will introduce the performing ones and vice versa on the 3rd night. The artisti introducing the performing artisti will be decided by a public draw during the Sanremo's press conferences on the 2nd and 3rd day. On the 4th night, there will be the usual “covers” night: the artisti this year can choose any song, national or international, from any year (until December 2023) and by anyone (even themselves).

In my new painting «Hands of God Nebula,» I intended to explore the intersection of cosmic beauty and human sensuality. In this oil painting, I depict a nude man standing against an abstract, dark blue-violet background that echoes the vastness of space. His body, illuminated by vibrant bursts of color—reds, purples, oranges—creates a visual connection to the imagery of the «Hand of God» nebula. This fusion of the celestial and corporeal invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty of the male form as both erotic and universal.
The figure’s posture, with hands resting on his lower abdomen, emphasizes his vulnerability while celebrating his strength and physical presence. Through the swirling, radiant colors, I sought to express a sense of energy and fluidity, evoking both the mysterious grandeur of the cosmos and the intimate beauty of the nude male body. This painting is a personal reflection on homoeroticism, identity, and the profound connection between human and cosmic creation.

Seven Crimes and Punishments Interview (2015)
There are a lot of interviews that mothy has done over the years that aren't published in official Evillious material. I can't promise to find them, and I have very little desire to translate them, but if people point them out to me I'll try to make a quick summary of their contents like I've been doing for his blog.
This one's from the Japanese entertainment website "Natalie", linked [here]
Content summary under the cut
basic info on mothy, that he's a song producer who's been there since pretty much the beginning, a pioneer of VOCALOID novels, etc etc. Ichika is also present for this interview, as his main illustrator. At this point it's been 7 years since Daughter of Evil came out.
-He had no idea he'd be going this long. mothy had no intention or expectation of making money off this when he first started, viewing it instead as a hobby. He admits that he still feels that way even now that he's successful.
-Seven Crimes and Punishments, however, was planned in advance. He'd figured that he wanted to release something that compiled the Seven Deadly Sins songs at the 7 year mark, and was conveniently approached by a major record label to do so (even if they hadn't reached out to him he would have done so anyway).
-He really likes being able to concretely show the songs are connected.
-This isn't new information but mothy didn't originally have all of Evillious in mind when making Daughter of Evil. All he'd conceived of was the setting for Daughter of Evil. It was only later that he started making things connected (this is another thing he likes--having stories that seem to be unrelated at first and then revealing they're in the same world). He got the idea around the time he was making Evil Food Eater Conchita.
-mothy has always liked fantasizing about stories, but never had an outlet for them before. Hence why he went so overboard when making the songs.
-Ichika found it easy to illustrate Daughter of Evil because of how clearly the song told its story.
-mothy's affinity for telling stories in songs is at least partly inspired by Western heavy metal music. In particular he cites the bands Helloween and Stratovarius (who tell fantasy stories with their music). He also mentions the early works for Makihara Noriyuki (a JPop artist), which also had stories to them.
-He also talks a little about the historical basis for telling complex narratives through music, such as medieval minstrels, opera, musicals, etc. So he doesn't think there's anything special about what he's doing; it's just that such music isn't popular anymore.
-Mothy talks about Cloture, which was his first time writing a novel. Neither he nor the publisher thought it would sell, so he didn't feel pressured at all when writing it.
-He had a lot of material to make Cloture with from when he was making the setting for the song, thought it wound up being more of a foundation for him to work off of than the complete story itself. Ironically this has resulted in him coming up with so much complex plot and setting that he now struggles to fit it into his newer songs, having to promise himself he'll write whatever he can't fit into another novel.
-Ichika always tries to preserve the tone and atmosphere of the songs whenever she makes illustrations for mothy. With the songs in particular she tries to follow not just the instructions she gets, but also keeping in mind the information mothy has already made public for his story. She avoids putting her own interpretation or spin on the art, just following what mothy has in mind.
-mothy recounts how there was some debate over making novels of the songs (which he didn't mind). People apparently thought it would detract from the ability of readers to imagine their own stories with the music. But novels are derivative works of the songs, and he felt like he could write it as he wanted to as the song's author (slightly unsure what he's saying here). The attitude towards "novelizing" has changed now, of course.
-Ichika was happy to work on the manga, being able to illustrate things that didn't get shown visually in the novel.
-they discuss how mothy's fan base (and VOCALOID in general) seem to have a lot of younger people in it now, like teens and pre-teens (he would have expected an older fan base given he's been making songs for 7 years). He talks about how he's had to keep this in mind when making his work--that his songs need to appeal to kids and teens who don't know much about music, and not just to music enthusiasts and adults.
-They also discuss how mothy doesn't tailor his songs to project a cool image (and use the Onigashima song as an example, being an enka song and thus not exactly Jpop). He doesn't view himself as a "cool" person in general, and so is looking more at what's in demand in what he makes.
-mothy would doodle stories and concepts and characters for himself in elementary school, but dropped this as he entered middle school and got into music. He thinks that it's better for him to work on these things as an adult because he no longer has much pride to get in the way whenever his imagination gets the better of him.
-He worked on the short story at the same time as he was making the 4 new songs for the album. He struggled a little with the setting at first because he wanted all of the main sin characters to show up in it, but they all live in different countries and time periods (this is my own speculation, but this may be why he chose to have the end of the world play out like it did)
-Ichika talks a little about the appeal of the story, that each character isn't totally good or evil, and so they all have ways they can be likable. The story is made up of a lot of smaller events kind of compiling on each other, which makes what-ifs and the like interesting to do. Her favorite characters are Conchita and Gallerian. She also talks a little about designing the album jacket.
-they discuss the trend of making novels about VOCALOID songs--mothy noting it took off way more than he thought it would (he expected a bit of a trend, but not to this degree). He doesn't mind that he was going against the grain when he started, but he thinks it's a little overboard now (he seems to be saying that he thinks there's this pressure to make novels when really it's okay to just stick with making songs). Still though, he tries to keep to himself and not worry what other people are doing.
-Ichika has similar thoughts, where she hasn't been paying close attention to the "novel scene", but she has noted some people getting into reading through VOCALOID, or getting into VOCALOID through reading, that it serves as a good gateway genre, as it were.
-He says he's planning to keep going for at least another 5 years so he'll have been going for 12 years (for thematic reasons, of course).

The show
The name is in reference to all the American evening TV shows, like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon which is probably the inspiration for the title The Lost! Show starring RM.
The text on the hosts' mugs says 남준 한에 (inside Namjoon, src).
The stage, also featured in the Poster, is a labyrinth with no connected exits. You go in and out through the same opening.
In this setting, RM appears disguised as the only two women we see: the anchor and the director.
During the climbing scene, we see what's below the show stage. There are carton boxes and two trophies on the left, while it's suitcases and an abacus on the right.
The elevator
From this point, RM is accompanied by four personas (src): an overconfident one (played by Audrey Kang), an anxious one (played by Hee Sin (second Instagram post)), a jaded one (played by Stephany Yujin Hong (second Instagram post)) and a goofy one (played by David H Lee).
The elevator has lots of details, notably graffiti:
Lost in several languages: Pierdut (Romanian), perdu (French), lost, 로스트 (lost again but written in Hangul), 길을 잃... (Korean, possibly 길을 잃었 땅에서, based on the lyrics but it's hard to confirm)
BTS-related words: BTS (written in a heart), 남주니 ♡3♡ (Namjoonie), 金南俊 (RM's name in hanja, src)
어쩔TV
산얀 바보 (San Yawn is a silly guy)
천재 석준 왔다감 (genius Seokjun is here, note that the "genius" is written differently than the rest)
JAM
Care, urs (hard to confirm those two but urs is bear in Romanian, so it could stand for "care bear", src)
まち (town in Japanese)
ghost (a reference to the lyrics)
わすれちゃ (forgetting/I forgot in Japanese)
There are also several details on the buttons.
The numbers are arranged randomly (note that the clock visible in the credits also has randomly arranged numbers) and the destination names are mostly jokes:
12 5232 22
42 (42 is famously known in pop-culture for being the answer to the Universe, a nod to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
화장실 (washroom)
Pierdut (lost in Romanian)
Nowhere
We can note that there's a smiley on buttons 81 and 73. And there are two dots on button 98, then three on button 150. There's also a heart on button 3.
The offices
At 03:41, the persona played by David H Lee uses an extinctor directly on his face... after being the one who emptied the water tank on his face.

Watch the FULL version of our trailer here!
CAPRICIOUS PROVENANCE is an award winning D&D 5e AP Audio Drama fusion set in an arcanepunk, partially homebrewed world of Eberron! After The Last War devastated Khorvaire - and their lives - fate follows four unlikely friends attempting to grapple with their own destinies as the fate of the world falls into a chaotic uncertainty.Join our…heroes(?) as they navigate their ever-changing lives in the wake of destruction, wading in the depths of their trauma as they connect with the troubled people living in a fragmented world. We’re an all queer & trans, majority BIPOC cast of tabletop creatives that bend the rules, change the lore, and break the game to tell a story of fighting tooth and nail against the way things are, and daring to hope for change.
Capricious Provenance is free to listen to, and advertisement-free. Our team is small, and we have started this project with no funding. This podcast is a labor of love and collaboration between a group of friends that are very passionate about the art they create. We are hoping to acquire funding and grow the team in the future! For now, you can support the show via Ko-fi.
Will I like Capricious Provenance?
While Capricious Provenance’s main game system is D&D 5e, we use a mixture of different games in the podcast - such as Pathfinder and 1400 Sneak - to help tell our story. Additionally, while the world is set in 5e’s Eberron, it has been altered significantly and partially homebrewed to suit our main characters, featuring elements from various supplements such as Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting. Capricious Provenance is full of magic, whimsy, gods, monstrosities, political intrigue, and queer romance. There is a heavy focus on storytelling through character roleplay that makes room for heart wrenching character arcs and gives space for relationships between the characters to organically develop. The show explores themes of found family, generational trauma, religious trauma, healing, self discovery, the cost of war, freedom and revolution against an oppressive regime. It is ultimately a story of hope in dire times, embracing the monsters within ourselves formed by the world we live in, and finding the beauty in brutality. If you are a fan of media such as Dragon Age, Castlevania, Monster Hunter, The Owl House or Baldur’s Gate 3, you may enjoy Capricious Provenance!
Capricious Provenance Features:
A mixture of actual play and audio drama that places you in the shoes of our characters as we roll the dice.
Award-winning immersive narrative combat scenes that put you right in the center of the action. (Rainbow Roll Fest 2023)
Tarot readings and content warnings at the beginning of every episode so the listener knows precisely what they’re getting into.
Supplementary content, such as a short “radio broadcast” series providing updates directly from the world of our campaign and animatics illustrated by our artists.
Episode re-caps and lorekeeping, and more!

Marianne Kolb was born in a small farming town in Switzerland and moved to the Berkley area in her mid-twenties, where she connected to the East Bay arts community. Largely self-taught, Kolb’s work is widely collected and her work has appeared in numerous publications.
She says:
"I grew up in a very small, isolated farming village in Switzerland. From a very young age my life was centered around working on our farm. At sixteen I moved into Bern, received a standard business education, and began working as a telephone operator and then as a wholesale buyer. At age twenty-five I travelled to the States. When I arrived in Berkeley I met a group of people who were very active in the East Bay arts community. For the first time an arts-related career seemed to be a possibility. Within a year of arriving in California I had secured an apprenticeship with a goldsmith and soon after began working as a full-time goldsmith and jeweler.
In 1987 I began to draw, and some time later I was given an old easel and a decrepit paint box still containing paint, brushes and mediums. This gift was the beginning of a transformed life, as if that very box were a magical vessel in which to travel. To this day it holds my curiosity, and with it I discover something new almost every day-I only have to open it!
I often change medium and scale in my work so as to retain a creative tension. I will move through a period of intense printing to months of painting. At times I put down those tools and use only stick and ink. Throughout all my work, whether I am working meticulously on a small-scale series of paintings and prints or with broad, quick gestural drawings, I am pulling from visions which I now realize were initially generated from life in a physically and mentally isolated landscape.
The first glimpse of a new piece enters my mind in moments of wandering thought and often begins as a simple, gestural sketch. The images evolve from these dreams into stage-like settings, part storyteller’s fairy tale, part real-time tale of daily survival. I focus on the forces beneath the surface-the dread, the frenzy, isolation, fear, separation, love, intimacy, hope, humor, whimsy. The setting down of these imaginations is both a sifting through and a building of a visual diction, setting one piece upon another as one would set down one word after another in a narrative. In this way the work becomes a vessel for transformation, a new way to begin."

[ASOIAF 2024 Official Calendar Cover Art by Justin Sweet]
couple things: obviously i love this new art although i was very surprised to see it (yes everyone knows r+l=j but george you haven't gotten to this part in asoiaf yet!!), particularly as the cover art for the whole calendar. i know there are plans for the harrenhal play in 2023/2024, and that twow seems to be looming so a possible clue that the reveal of jon snow's parentage may very well be in this coming book?
regardless, about the actual art: justin sweet is certainly a conceptual artist from a quick overview of his website & that really shines through here, i mean the placements, the metaphors, the whole composition is soft as forest moss truly.
i love the interplay of light & dark given what we know of these characters: rhaegar with his sense of grief/doom is fully in the shade of the enormous heart tree while lyanna is in the half-light half-dark, perhaps representing her own more optimistic and less convoluted worldview. she's exploring, finding balance; he's watching & seeing something he admires that somehow exists in all the twists and inescapable turns of the forest engulfing them.
the third 'person' in the art is the heart tree itself, old/wise/frowning, but also cradling both lyanna and rhaegar. they're both connected to it, representing in a sense that their fates are sealed & known. this is a stolen moment they're having (it's a false spring!) but despite the simplicity it's still connected to the much larger world around them.
another point i like is the lack of sigil etc on their clothing—we know who they are but the interaction is not one of targaryen to stark on it's face. [there's also this other art by the same artist which parallels lyanna & jon's poses + rhaegar & jon's clothes WE GET IT OKAY]
LAST & MOST IMPORTANT THOUGH: the blue roses at the bottom that are firmly in the light! both rhaegar and lyanna are looking in that direction, the blue roses are of course deeply intertwined with their story but also are connected to their narrative successors in jon & daenerys. daenerys sees the blue rose in her vision in the house of the undying as part of the prophecy on her romantic relationships / jon is told the story of bael the bard & the blue winter rose as a nod to his own hidden identity. the flowers aren't connected to the heart tree directly, just in it's presence, perhaps because the upcoming fate of those two & the entire world is still in the air. at best: they find each other and spring blooms. a dream of spring. at worst: they're swallowed by the weight of history as the tree itself is.
only thing i would have liked to have seen is perhaps some of the deep gashes that daemon targaryen left on the heart tree of harrenhal while waiting there for aemond one-eye to surface. assumedly this is harrenhal as it's spring here & rhaegar/lyanna didn't see each other following harrenhal until winter had reasserted itself. the connection of the targaryen family to the god's eye/harrenhal/the rivers that make up the trident is an interesting and extensive one but! beggars can't be choosers!
all in all very much a treat, the gentle romantic setting of the calm in the storm is Such an ASOIAF vibe and this piece truly captured that

ok since i've been sharing some piracy stuff i'll talk a bit about how my personal music streaming server is set up. the basic idea is: i either buy my music on bandcamp or download it on soulseek. all of my music is stored on an external hard drive connected to a donated laptop that's next to my house's internet router. this laptop is always on, and runs software that lets me access and stream my any song in my collection to my phone or to other computers. here's the detailed setup:
my home server is an old thinkpad laptop with a broken keyboard that was donated to me by a friend. it runs yunohost, a linux distribution that makes it simpler to reuse old computers as servers in this way: it gives you a nice control panel to install and manage all kinds of apps you might want to run on your home server, + it handles the security part by having a user login page & helping you install an https certificate with letsencrypt.
***
to stream my music collection, i use navidrome. this software is available to install from the yunohost control panel, so it's straightforward to install. what it does is take a folder with all your music and lets you browse and stream it, either via its web interface or through a bunch of apps for android, ios, etc.. it uses the subsonic protocol, so any app that says it works with subsonic should work with navidrome too.
***
to listen to my music on my phone, i use DSub. It's an app that connects to any server that follows the subsonic API, including navidrome. you just have to give it the address of your home server, and your username and password, and it fetches your music and allows you to stream it. as mentionned previously, there's a bunch of alternative apps for android, ios, etc. so go take a look and make your pick. i've personally also used and enjoyed substreamer in the past. here are screenshots of both:
***
to listen to my music on my computer, i use tauon music box. i was a big fan of clementine music player years ago, but it got abandoned, and the replacement (strawberry music player) looks super dated now. tauon is very new to me, so i'm still figuring it out, but it connects to subsonic servers and it looks pretty so it's fitting the bill for me.
***
to download new music onto my server, i use slskd which is a soulseek client made to run on a web server. soulseek is a peer-to-peer software that's found a niche with music lovers, so for anything you'd want to listen there's a good chance that someone on soulseek has the file and will share it with you. the official soulseek client is available from the website, but i'm using a different software that can run on my server and that i can access anywhere via a webpage, slskd. this way, anytime i want to add music to my collection, i can just go to my server's slskd page, download the files, and they directly go into the folder that's served by navidrome.
slskd does not have a yunohost package, so the trick to make it work on the server is to use yunohost's reverse proxy app, and point it to the http port of slskd 127.0.0.1:5030, with the path /slskd and with forced user authentification. then, run slskd on your server with the --url-base slskd, --no-auth (it breaks otherwise, so it's best to just use yunohost's user auth on the reverse proxy) and --no-https (which has no downsides since the https is given by the reverse proxy anyway)
***
to keep my music collection organized, i use beets. this is a command line software that checks that all of the tags on your music are correct and puts the file in the correct folder (e.g. artist/album/01 trackname.mp3). it's a pretty complex program with a ton of features and settings, i like it to make sure i don't have two copies of the same album in different folders, and to automatically download the album art and the lyrics to most tracks, etc. i'm currently re-working my config file for beets, but i'd be happy to share if someone is interested.
that's my little system :) i hope it gives the inspiration to someone to ditch spotify for the new year and start having a personal mp3 collection of their own.

I have a question, I've recently realized that posting my art on social media has led to me sort of obsessing with how that art is received and leading to my emotions about that art, and the art I make in the future, to be affected. How do you manage the problems that posting your art on social media can bring to your mindset/creation process while still posting your art on social media? You've spoken a lot about this, but still regularly post your art on here, how do you feel about this at the moment etc? Because I do quite like sharing my creations with the world, I just wish I didn't immediately get weird about it
Hello... Oh wow.. honestly i struggle with it like every day and have not found a solution to this.. unfortunately whenever i post i am mostly doing it compulsively / out of addiction for the feedback / out of fear of becoming irrelevant (+ also i need to open comms officially soon so i need people to like.. know that i draw) but even aside from the financial stuff its just like ..insane.
in my opinion.. what is probably hardest about this, aside from the fact that so many people need to be on social media and turn themselves into products in order to make a living , is that we rely on it so much for things that are genuinely and infinitely valuable (art , sharing what we make with other humans ,connecting) and because of the way the internet has become we are supporting these crucial aspects of our lives in the least ideal ways possible..
im not sure.i struggle with this every day really i recommend checking out this person's words on the topic of artists and socialmedia
my main focus ideally is to try to be outside even if its hard and work out and be in nature then i regain clarity little by little. right now my brain feels like its fried ive been on my phone all day. so.. im not sure. Definetly look into people's personal websites outside of social media like the one i just linked. but.well. I havent mademy own yet ive been putting off learning html ............... But yes personal websites seem like an infinitely healthier way of sharing artwork /generally expressing ourselves online far away from all this mess &addiction. Its always crazy to me when i visit any social media after going through neocities pages i like because we dont realize how artistically limiting this set structure is at all.. "content"= goes within the container
#asks#god sorry my reply is basically. i dont know#i actually have installed instagram just now to post stuff.:(#and because theres so much stuff i cant keep up with without instagram#irl friends and such#how insane is that#anhways#i wish you the best with this we got this we are all stronger together

What We Know About Louis Tomlinson's Upcoming All of Those Voices Documentary
We're going to see the artist through a whole new lens.
BY SAMANTHA OLSON PUBLISHED: FEB 9, 2023
In 2022, Louis Tomlinson released his sophomore album Faith in the Future which leaned into an alternative pop-rock sound as a departure from his boy band days. The former One Direction member opened up about solidifying his signature sound in an interview with Alternative Press, saying, "I knew who I was in One Direction, but I'd never thought of who I am on my own as [a] solo [artist]. I was so in love with being in the band that I never really had those thoughts."
The 31-year-old singer also revealed that he had filmed the process of creating Faith in the Future, which would ultimately become a documentary that also serves as a love letter to his fans. "I know every artist says this, but I've got a deep f--king connection with my fans. I think of it as one entity," Louis told Alternative Press. "I was 18 when I was first in the band, and we've grown up together." In moments of doubt, he turned to his fans for words of encouragement and support that inspired him to go after what he truly wanted while making his second solo album.
On February 8, 2023, Louis announced that the documentary, titled All of Those Voices, will be released in March. "This has been something I’ve been working on for years, I’m really excited to finally put it out into the world. I’ve said it a million times but I’m lucky enough to have the greatest fans an artist could wish for, and as you always go above and beyond for me, I wanted to share my story with you in my own words," the former 1D member wrote on Instagram.
Here's everything we know about Louis Tomlinson's All of Those Voices documentary, from its release date, trailer, and more.
When does Louis Tomlinson's documentary come out?
According to his initial announcement, All of Those Voices is set to release on March 22, 2023 in theaters.

How to watch Louis Tomlinson's All of Those Voices documentary
For now, the documentary is releasing exclusively in theaters, which means you'll have to snag tickets to a screening. In his announcement, Louis shared that ticket sales will begin on February 22, a month before the film's release, on AllofThoseVoices.com.
Is there an All of Those Voices trailer?
There isn't an official trailer for the documentary just yet, but you already know we'll drop it here once it's been released.
What is All of Those Voices about?
The Charlie Lightening-directed documentary will show fans an "intimate and unvarnished view" of Louis' journey as he created his second solo album, Faith in the Future. The film's official website includes the following synopsis:
All Of Those Voices takes a refreshingly raw and real look at Louis Tomlinson's musical journey. Ditching the typical glossy sheen of celebrity documentaries, this film gives audiences an intimate and unvarnished view of Louis' life and career. Through never-before-seen home movie footage and behind the scenes access to Louis’ sell-out 2022 World Tour, All Of Those Voices offers a unique perspective on what it's like to be a musician in today's fast-paced world.
From the highs of superstardom to the lows of personal tragedy, Louis' story is one of resilience and determination. The film explores his journey from a member of One Direction to a solo artist, capturing the challenges and triumphs that defined his path. Since the acclaimed release of his debut album ‘Walls’ and documenting the creation of his chart topping 2022 album ‘Faith In The Future’, the film shows a side of Louis that fans have never seen before, as he grapples with the pressures of fame and the weight of his own voice.
Directed by Charlie Lightening, the filmmaker behind the award-winning As It Was, All Of Those Voices is a story about the power of self-discovery and the courage it takes to be true to oneself. With a focus on honesty and vulnerability, this film is a refreshingly down-to-earth take on the life of a musician, capturing the real-life struggles and triumphs of a man who refused to be silenced by anyone else's expectations.

Sanremo 2023 - the post!
Hello everyone! Here you’ll find this year’s Sanremo’s stuff and news (I’ll be uploading this post through all the week). The Festival will start on tuesday February 7th at 8:30 pm (it’ll probably have a 5 minutes “anteprima = preview” every night), and end on saturday February 11th, when the final will be broadcasted.
/ Official website / you can find loads of videos and interviews here + the latest news. You can already find the presentation videos of the songs made by the artists.
Rai’s website dedicated section (here) | youtube playlist
TikTok official channel: @/sanremorai Instagram official: @/sanremorai Twitter official: @/SanremoRai Facebook: festivaldisanremo
Also this year we’ll have the PrimaFestival, the small show broadcasted on Rai1 at around 8:30 p.m. (February 4th - February 11th). The host are Andrea Delogu (actress), gli Autogol (Youtube/Actors’ group of comedians and radio hosts) and Jody Cecchetto (gamer/speaker).
I’m not sure if it's gonna be like the usual Dopofestival, with the analysis of the show at the end of each night, but Fiorello is going to be live with a show "VivaRai2...Viva Sanremo di notte!" right sfter the end of each evening on RaiUno. Seeing it's Fiorello, I believe it's gonna be a bit different than usual.
The # on this blog is #sanremo 2023, #sanremo 23, #sanremo 73, you can black any of these (the first one in particular) if you want.
To watch it live:
Raiuno -> just click on the first video on the left, or here, to open the Raiuno streaming immediately (I added the whole Rai channels things in case you had troubles connecting directly and wanted to try from there). The RAI's geoblock is usually removed for Sanremo's week, no need to create accounts or whatsoever to enjoy Sanremo online!!
Every person "buys" 5 artisti and marks one of them as a captain. As last year, artists will have to do or say something while on stage to help you gain points (and also classification will have a say).
I’ll try to write down some more infos/links through the week.
——-
Hosts & Guests + Other Stuff
This years’ host will still be Amadeus (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host. He will be accompanied by Gianni Morandi (singer) who will co-host with him all the evenings; as in the past 3 years, they'll be accompanied also by a different co-host woman each night: Chiara Ferragni (online business woman; first and last night); Francesca Fagnani (journalist, tv host; second night); Paola Egonu (volleyball player, model; third night); Chiara Francini (actress, tv host, writer; fourth night). Some of the one-night guests during the week will be: Mahmood and Blanco, i Pooh, Massimo Ranieri, Al Bano, Gianni Morandi, Black Eyed Peas, Maneskin... This year too there will be singers perfoming on a boat and in live stream with the Sanremo stage: Salmo, Fedez (husband of Chiara Ferragni), Takagi & Ketra e Guè. In the square outside the Theater, there will be the exhibitions of Piero Pelù, Francesco Renga and Nek, Achille Lauro, Annalisa and La Rappresentante di Lista (these too will be broadcasted on Sanremo).
How it works
There will be 28 singers in the ARTISTI (artists) section. It will be the only section, as last year. 22 artists were chosen by Amadeus, while the other 6 are the winners of Sanremo Giovani (held in December 2022). The winner of the competition will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest: if he/she/they won’t accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified or the next (the first one accepting). On the 4th night, there will be the usual “covers” night.

love me a good spreadsheet! would you be willing to share with the class?
Hello Hello! I will absolutely link you to the spreadsheet in a private message/chat but since it's on my google drive it’s connected to my personal email and privacy and all the jazz.
BUT I will happily explain my findings in a typical too-long answer from Lyn.
So, there is this website called BMI/Songview where artists go to register their songs specifically for copyright purposes, whether or not they get an official release. Ofc, Andrew's got a page. Someone showed me this a few years ago and I've been frequently checking it every few months or so out of boredom, adding to my spreadsheet because you can see, in Taylor Swift terms, songs from the vault ™
Songs are in alphabetical order and do not have a date associated with them for when they were uploaded. BUT there are work ID numbers, and the higher they go, the more recent they are. Also, if you compare the numbers with songs that have been actually released, it goes like this: starting with 17-18 is self-titled, 28-31 is W,b! and 61-63 is UU.
The bonus songs for self-titled have fun names. I would really love to hear "Pagliacci's in town" like that really drew my eye.
This site is also used for like... different versions of songs. There's a "talk" and "talk refined", "The love of" and "the love of v2" and there's a version of Uiscefhuarithe called "UISCE". I recommend just going through the site, it's really fascinating (also it shows the writers for each one. The "performer" tab is iffy)
So the last time I checked before this month was December. There was nothing new. BUT THEN I was curious and a new entry immediately caught my eye: Wildflower and barely
(I'm sorry if the quality is bad. Tumblr sucks lmao)
And that caught my eye specifically because 1. These lyrics were revealed YEARS ago in some magazine so I had been wondering when it would be added and 2. Allison russel was attached, and that's his tour opener for this new leg.
So I kept scrolling and found a few more recent ones, including "July", "Hymn to Virgil" (which he mentioned when the album came out), and "Don't Want the World".
There are also two others that remind me of the lryics of who we are, called "Edge of knife" and "Falling like water" and I'm more inclined to believe they might be who we are alternatives, but who knows.
Anyway, like I said, I have a whole spreadsheet tracking everything over all his albums if you're interested.
But when he said recently there was four song EP next month... and one of them was Wildflower and barely with Allison, I really think those other 3 will be the rest.
#hozier#unreal unearth#unreal unearth EP#also he said there's a SECOND ONE for later this year so maybe we'll get rob the goddess then#i wonder what the name will be#if i'm wrong then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#lyn needs to stop talking
