Chapter 1: Caramel
It isnât the first time a beautiful woman has stopped you in your doom scrolling on the internet. Youâve had your share of rabbit-holing through Instagram profiles, tagged photos, your finger hovering over the DM button with a wave of confidence that only comes when youâve had a drink or two in your system.
But this woman, this one comes with an extension of discovery.
Just by googling her name, a thousand articles pop up. Art piece installations cascade every website, timeline, and city cultural journal. Jesus, then the red carpet photos multiply as the SEO of your web browser catches on to your sudden enthrall of dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes.
Oh, and the hashtags. #WitchyArt #HarknessAndDesire #CursedCanvas. Layers of art plummet before you, most requesting to select if youâd like to view the art or not because of its lewd nature, violating community guidelines.
#AgathaHarknessUnveiled
A public invitation to forbiddenness. Youâre intrigued.
Then more pictures of her show up, next to her work, her models, famous celebrities that you never knew were part of the same circle. You realize youâve been following her art closely for years, and had even gone to one of her art installations at the LACMA a couple years back.
She has no social media and you quickly piece together why you havenât been able to put a face to the name until now. The Agatha Harkness.
You curse yourself for living and breathing on Instagram, reading little excerpts about her pieces here and there, never proceeding past searching her name up one single time after seeing her most famous artwork grace the official Broad Museum verified account:
The Unbound: Agatha Harkness - A Palette of Desire contemporary collection of â22.
Ask AI or Search: Agatha Harkness
âŚ
However, you were met with the reflection of: ââ ď¸ zero search results foundâ staring back at you on your phone screen, and that was that.
Now, you pull open your âPainting Inspoâ Pinterest board to see a piece of hers pinned neatly between other modern art you admire. The pin is plainly titled and paired with a now-purple hyperlink to an article, with one of the most commanding portraits of her in a suit, standing sharply next to her work.
It had all been right there, connected, laid out before you. You scold yourself again. You couldâve been in this womanâs circle the moment you moved to Los Angeles. Only now sheâs magically moved from your subconscious to reality.
All it took was a simple Google search to be completely floored.
Right place, right time, you think, as it were. Originally, you were filtering through junior-level marketing positions, revamping your resume for the umpteenth time. Waitressing just wasnât cutting it anymore, you needed a big girl job. Even if you didnât have the experience.
And, to be honest, people really do act like that in Los Angeles. Customer service is nothing short of unbearable.
Youâd huffed and slammed your laptop, tired of the almost-hour it took to submit one clean job application, flopped on your bed, and began the inevitable doom scroll.
And there she was, in all her glory. Featured in one major headline that caught your eye (apart from every photo ever of her maddeningly hypnotizing smile).
Grand Opening of the Harkness Collection, March 2025 â DTLA, Seeking Social Media Manager Position.
You could do it, you think.
The link to apply for the position already looks infinitely better than the bland, morose copy/paste templates thrown around every typical job website like a hot potato.
This just might get your foot in the door.
Youâve painted your whole life, always the kid doodling in the corner of your notebooks in class. Youâve done your fair share of moronically smacking people with your big art portfolio at the end of each year in high school when you rounded corners.
Art school in Portland had its ups and downs. Your father used every last penny he had to see your dreams come true, and your mother hated you for it. Blamed you, even, for sucking his wallet dry. But it was of his own accord to pay for tuition, and you had nothing else to show for it. You had a real talent.
At least, thatâs what Mrs. Montgomery had told you.
Your art teacher for grades 11-12 was someone who was stern but had a motherâs touch. You really only knew the stern part back home, and then some, after the divorce.
But Mrs. Montgomery not only put you on a pedestal, she really critiqued you. She actually pushed you, improved your skills and adorned her Letter of Recommendation to your chosen college with accolades of admiration you couldnât possibly achieve from your own mother.
If it wasnât obvious already, you were completely smitten. And you know what else? You could trust her as far as you could throw her.
The after school meetings, the one-on-one sessions after class to help finish up an end of the year project. Anything to get a sliver of praise. Anything to prevent the bus ride home.
After college, though, you moved to Los Angeles in hopes of joining a gallery or an art community. You got sucked into the limelight, the overbearing and overwhelming nature of the city of angels. Everyone seemingly looks better than you, doing more than you, everyone trying to prove themselves somewhere. Nothing felt real.
You felt like a failure.
Email threads to galleries went stale and not to mention renting out studios could carve a hole into your credit card. Itâs been three whole years since moving here after college, stuck in the same job you started with. The only real friend you made was from college, Oliver, who really was the one who dragged you out to California in the first place.
One friend, one lame job, one-room studio apartment, and no art to show for it. You start to think that this dream was meant to fizzle out and youâre supposed to become another cog in the wheel of Capitalism just like everybody else.
Whatever. You craft a partially-truthful resume, and an overzealous cover letter.
Somewhere in there you lie about managing a social media page for a cafe that doesnât exist, and that youâve worked with a few semi-recognizable artists in the industry as their interns. Right.
But for the record, this is working for Agatha Harkness. Youâve got to make it look like youâre somebody. You imagine yourself at her side on those red carpets, getting to pick her brain about all the art sheâs created. Youâll get to show her the paintings you made, sheâll praise you, youâll blush, and youâll fall pathetically under her spell. Fuck.
Do you want the job or do you want her?
You suppose wanting both isnât selfish. Itâs ambitious. And youâre sick of circling around a realm thatâs just out of reach.
You look at the unfinished canvases stowed in the corner of your apartment, the murky âmystery soupâ graying in several mason jars that scatter your work area. The dried paint, the tubes of acrylics strewn about. You canât even remember the last time you painted.
If a hot, older woman was the motivation to be the artist you were always meant to be, then fuck it. You hit âsubmitâ on the application and sigh, closing your laptop with a better feeling of finality than the first time.
You never really get your hopes up about a job position, but for the rest of the day you find yourself tapping away anxiously, your mind scattered with the possibility of Agatha Harkness, of all people, becoming your boss.
ââââââââââââ
The next morning youâre disruptively awakened by the buzzing of your phone. You begrudgingly hit âacceptâ on the unknown number and pick up the line.
âHello?â you answer and do your best not to sound utterly corpse-like.
âHi!â a sweet voice greets you from the other end, âmy name is Jennifer Kale, calling about the social media manager position for Ms. Harkness. Is this â?â
âYes,â you shoot up, now seated in bed and exclaim before she can even finish her sentence. âThis is she.â
She goes on to tell you how impressed she was with your resume and your expert copyright. You did always have a way with words, you forget how powerful they are as a way to get you exactly what you want.
âI saw in your CV that you have your work displayed at a cafe in Echo Park, is that right?â
You tell her of the few pieces you have displayed there and how youâve made good friends with the owner. Jen mentions sheâs relayed your portfolio, website, and resume to Agatha already and your breath instantly hitches.
She then goes to say that Agatha would like to personally meet you at that cafe for an interview. Tomorrow.
You nod and stutter a quick âyesâ into the speaker, forgetting you were on the phone at all. Lost in the possibility â no, actuality â of meeting Agatha.
After exchanging times and contact information, the line clicks blank and all the roaring thoughts begin to pour in. The anxiety, the expectations, the thought of being examined, let alone perceived by this powerful woman.
Your stomach kind of flutters at the thought, though. Her domineering presence picking you apart until you tell her exactly what she wantsâŚand then sheâll hire you.
The confidence you feel mixed with the sheer horror of pretending youâre more than you say you are. You hope she doesnât see through the lies.
But then again, so many people in the world have jobs they arenât qualified for. They donât even know what theyâre doing, especially bosses and CEOs. So youâre sure Agatha can appreciate a little âfake it til you make itâ; particularly from someone who really wants this.
ââââââââââââ
You arrive infinitely early to the interview in the car you never use since everything in Downtown LA is right outside your apartment door.
The parking was the biggest hurdle but you gave yourself ample time to prepare.
The sun beats down on you as you exit your car, despite the crisp air of the early Spring morning. You shuffle down the hill to the sprawling city strip of hipster cafes, vintage thrifts, and mom ân pop shops. Your favorite cafe is squished between them, a true hole in the wall.
One of your favorite baristas greets you from behind the counter when you walk in. It looks like you beat the morning rush, everyone already taken to their seats, noses pressed to their laptops in concentration.
You order your favorite iced latte and wait at the bar, albeit with impatience. The barista questions your nervousness and you lean in with excitement.
âI have an interview,â you smile.
âHere?!â
âYes, here, well â not here here, but yeah. Itâs with one of the most well known artists. SheâsâŚfascinating.â
And you gush over her for a moment, her art, her looks, the job position, while periodically checking the clock that sits behind the espresso bar, like, every five seconds.
You notice their smile grows wider as you wrap up your story, handing you your latte. But what you donât notice is the person who just walked in, approaching the next spot in line.
âHave a great interview,â the barista dazzles in a cheeky whisper, eyes flitting to someone behind you.
Your realization hits when you turn and your latte hits her, square in the chest.
The cold liquid clashes between you two as you bump into each other, the cap coming clean off, with bits of ice clattering to the floor.
âOh my god I am so sorry,â you babble, reaching for napkins and grabbing a fistful from who knows where.
You scramble to wipe up the mess, avoiding eye contact as Agatha steps back to examine the huge spot now staining her crisp white shirt. She canât even get a word in before you scurry to the bathroom.
How stupid can you possibly be?
You beat yourself up in your thoughts as you gather yourself, and, clumsily, several ice cubes that managed to fall into your bra.
With a wet paper towel you clean the coffee off your front as much as you can before taking a deep breath, fixing your hair in the mirror and hoping when you step out of the bathroom, sheâll still be there waiting for you.
The bathroom door teeters and squeaks awkwardly as you push it open. You survey the cafe lobby and find Agatha opening a notebook and pulling out papers, and your resume.
You donât think she realized youâre the one sheâs supposed to interview. And you canât even weigh what scenario would be more embarrassing.
You slide into the chair across from her, snaking your bag down to the floor and pulling out your own resume copy. You notice her blouse is completely drink-free and it catches you off guard. The coffee stains on your shirt are terribly evident despite your efforts in cleaning yourself up.
âYou shouldâve written your name as Caramel at the top of your resume,â she states while still looking down at the paper. Oh, of course she knows itâs you.
Looking down at yourself you realize thereâs a streak of caramel syrup dripping down your cleavage.
Your eyes flick to hers, and sheâs looking at you now, for the first time. Thereâs a long beat that clenches your throat and you forget how to speak.
You know her eyes are blue but holy shit, theyâre palpably blue. And they hold yours in suspension, her gaze lingering for a moment too long before returning to her paper.
Your cheeks warm with a feverish blush, and you take a napkin to wipe the syrup away, leaving your skin sticky and shiny.
Her eyes move to your cleavage again as she shifts slightly in her seat, adjusting her stature. She scans over your resume agonizingly slow now and this long gap of silence has your nerves bubbling.
Maybe itâs a good thing the coffee spilled, because youâre sure the caffeine would give you a panic attack right about now.
âIt doesnât state in here that you use condiments as a painting medium, so, tell me your process,â Agatha jokes, but her tone is blunt.
You breathe a laugh and smile anyway, wanting to squash the awkwardness and tension so badly. Taking a second, you muster up an ounce of courage. You have to prove yourself now after this train wreck.
âI could probably use caramel as a medium,â you shrug, meeting her stark gaze again.
Agatha quirks one brow, egging you to go on.
âItâs got a similar consistency to a fast dry. Could probably even be worked into a glaze too. It could make a really nice maple color over some oils. I work with acrylics, watercolors, too, but it probably would leave paintings like that,â you take in a ragged breath, your mind catching up to just how stupid you sound, ââŚsticky.â
She smiles for the first time, a wicked smolder perking the corners of her lips. Amusement flares in her eyes, and you swear you can almost see them darken.
âYour skills?â
You take a deep breath before you begin, grounding yourself. âTime management, organization, Iâm ambitious and work well with others. I also have really good memori ââ
âYou know,â she dawdles, ânone of your references called me back,â she states, practically disregarding the answer to her last question.
Your mouth parts in silence.
âOh,â is the only pathetic word you can assemble. âThatâs weird,â you breathe, thoroughly fucking failing.
âIâm sure theyâre all busy artists.â
And you just know sheâs seeing right through you.
âButâŚyour copywriting is very good. Iâve seen your social media, your website, youâve got a way with words, hon.â
Your neck and chest must be as red as your face now. But the way she looks at you, blue eyes dark yet twinkling with intrigue, youâre blushing for an entirely different reason.
âThank you,â you manage, and you give her a truthful look that you really need this, that you really want this. Because you just want something to go right for once in your life. You need to find your purpose again.
Itâs like she can hear your thoughts as she studies you. Itâs hard to look away when you meet her eyes again. As if sheâs holding you in the palm of her hand, weighing you, rolling you between her fingers, testing to see if she should clench and squeeze the dream right from your heart.
âYou know, I donât normally meet with artists in this circumstance, or even in such aâŚsticky manner.â
And you blush for the millionth time.
âBut Iâd like to test your writing skills. Iâm hosting a live painting session this weekend that I want you to come to and write a little mockup article for. If I dig it, you get the job, sweetheart.â
Her words drip like honey, the opportunity laid out before you, sounding sweet to your ears. Itâs almost unbelievable.
âWow, thank you so much Ms. Harkness,â you fawn, beaming a smile.
âAgatha,â she says warmly, holding out her hand for you to shake.
You hesitate for a moment before taking her hand in yours, her slender, delicate fingers just barely grazing the inside of your wrist. Something flutters in your stomach at the contact, like a chemical reaction right in your core.
The embrace is subtle, but it carries the weight of something more than just a job, more than just a task sheâs asking you to complete. You tug your hand away, but the air between you stays charged.
âI wonât let you down,â you exhale earnestly.
Agatha blinks at you slowly, that smile never faltering, âgood girl.â
She rises now, collecting her papers and notebook, storing them inside a black tote bag. âMy assistant will be in touch.â
You absentmindedly nod to her, feeling her presence leave, with the click of the cafe door echoing in your ears. Youâre completely dumbfounded. What just happened?
Did you actually manage to fake your way to the top? You have a real shot now at getting this position. And the way she looked at you, like she just knew what you were capable of?
Her request is simple, just a mockup article. Nothing truly serious. The significance of her words, though, make your heart race. The heady mix of exhilaration and nerve wracking anticipation makes you dizzy at the thought. And her praise.
Good girl.
Youâre completely slack-jawed at the thought of it again. You just know youâre in for something more than just a mere task.
Whatever she wants from you, youâll give it â willingly, completely, without question.

ââ-
HOST & GUESTS & Other stuff
This yearsâ host will still be Carlo Conti (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host/deejay. He already hosted for 3 years (2015-2017). He will be accompanied by a different co-host each night (check the schedule below). Together with them, as usual, during each night there will be different guests. Some will be announced only right before the start of the evening so keep an eye on the schedule.
There won't just be the competition inside the Ariston: the Suzuki Stage will be held in Sanremo's piazza Colombo and every night there will be live performances (they may show something during Sanremo as well). Mattia Stanga and Jody Cecchetto (tv/radio hosts) will be the hosts, while the performers will be: Raf (Feb.11th), BigMama (Feb.12th), Ermal Meta (Feb.13th), Benji & Fede (Feb.14th), Tedua (Feb.15th).
How it works:
There will be 29* singers in the ARTISTI (artists) section. There will be again 2 sections: BIG/CAMPIONI (already known artists) and NUOVE PROPOSTE (youngs). 29 artists of the BIG section were chosen by Carlo Conti, while the 4 of the NUOVE PROPOSTE are the finalists of Sanremo Giovani (held in December 2024). The winner of the BIGs competition will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest (May 13-17th 2025, in Switzerland): if he/she/they wonât accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified or the next (the first one accepting).
-> *Originally there were 30 BIG but Emis Killa withdrew since he's being investigated
This year weâre gonna listen to the 29 BIGs' songs on the first night and get a top 5 rank at the end. On the 2nd and 3rd night, weâll get to listen to 2 of the NUOVE PROPOSTE's songs at the beginning of each night. The one with the most votes (each night) will perform in the final on day 4. On day 2 and 3, we'll also listen again to 15 BIGs' songs and get another top 5 rank. People at home can vote for both sections. On the 4th night, we'll get the winner of the NUOVE PROPOSTE between the 2 finalists. Then, there will be the usual âcoversâ night: the BIGs can choose any song published until December 2024, national or international, and will be accompanied by another artist. From this year, artists can also decide if to duet with another Sanremo's contestant. We'll get the winner of the covers' night but the rank will be a separate rank from the one of the real competition. People at home can vote for both sections again. On day 5, all the BIGs will perform again. At the beginning of the night we'll get the general top 5 rank of the past days, and at the end of the night we'll get the final standing and winner.

1. BLACK MAMBA
IN WHICH: in a world where humans can synk with their ĂŚ, there is suddenly a huge synk out, and the real world can no longer communicate with the flat world for the longest time. what happens when you finally receive a synk message from ĂŚ-yn?
chapter one !
"l'existence prÊcède l'essence" is a central motto of existentialism meaning that existence precedes essence. this means that man exists first, emerges in the world and then defines himself. this phrase inverts the traditional philosophical view that the essence of a thing is more fundamental than its existence.
ĂŚ is formed, based on all the data that you have uploaded and interacted everywhere, whether itâs pictures, music, websites, or videos. it is formed into something very much like yourself.
but just because itâs made of your data, doesnât mean itâs you. though it comes incredibly close in your case. you have always thought about yourself as transparent. you are online how you are offline, hotheaded, to your own ideas.
though you had to admit that, you are never going to keep being that same y/n you are now, with time, people change. and what worried you, is that your ĂŚ wouldnât.
âningning?- ah!-â you tumbled to the ground, as she threw herself to you, a bit too excited, you had to say. she grabbed you by the shoulders, forcing you to sit correctly.
âare you crazy? bike race?!â she exclaimed.
your eyes widened when she pointed to the tv behind her, where the news of a girl racing police through the city on her motorcycle made the headlines, after escaping an illegal race.
âwhat, me? you think she looks like me?â you scoffed, pushing yourself off of the ground, helping your friend up.
ninging wore something that could describe her personality, artistic and expressive. the latter was something she did show off a lot.
âi do think so,â ningning crossed her arms, tapping her foot on the marble floor.
your arms dropped, as you dragged yourself next to the big screen, almost feeling proud about it. âsee? her technique is all wrong, she looks too⌠rushed?â
âyes because you were escaping from the police, anyone would feel rushed,â she rose her brows at you, making it almost impossible to say something back.
âin my opinion,â you heard a voice behind you. completely forgetting your devices had familiarity with ningning electronics, from all the bluetooth connections in the past.
ĂŚ-yn floated on the screen, imitating your movements, as she got replaced on the video, and was now riding your bike. âshe looks really cool, nothing like y/n,â she slid on your helmet.
âand you look really dumb now, just because youâre ĂŚ-yn, it doesnât mean you can be as good as me with these things,â you replied back, pettily, making her gasp. ningning let out a laugh at your banter, finding funny how her relationship with ĂŚ-ninging was much different to yours.
âyou two are a handful,â she sighed, and then remembered what she was doing. âoh! y/n, i need you to get some things for me to this one person who bought my art,â she ran off in some direction, her little boot-heels clicking on the floor.
you looked at your ĂŚ with a confused face, and she only shrugged. it was almost like you were the official errand girl, all because you had a quick ride.
âhere, woah!â she came back with a handful of canvases, all of different sizes, almost tripping on air, but being able to catch herself.
âwhat if i say no,â you groaned, looking at your ĂŚ for some backup, but she only shrugged, and disappeared, leaving you with this problem.
âyou canât,â ningning poked her head from the side, her entire upper body being covered by paintings, âyou already promised.â she sang.
âi did?â you scrunched your nose, âbut what about the thing?â
âwhat thing?â ningning looked puzzled, blinking.
âthe painting expo hacking thing,â you reminded her, as her face brightened up, âoh that thing! yeah iâm still doing it,â she smiled proudly, swaying from side to side.
âoh ningning,â you whined, finally understanding the misunderstanding, âi thought you invited me over to see that, not to help you deliver packages.â you dragged your words with laze.
âoh y/n,â she whined back, mocking you, âthatâs too bad, youâre going to have to find out how it went on the news, just like i did with your bike race.â she winked, knowing she won the banter.
âbut-â you were going to say, until she handed you all the canvases, making you stumble on your own footing, securing the paintings in your arms.
ânow, ĂŚ-ningning will send the address to ĂŚ-yn for her to guide you, theyâre all going to the same place,â ningning grabbed her phone, sending a synk message.
âokayâŚâ you grumbled, âiâll see you later, hopefully npt with another similar situation,â you started to head out of the studio, a bit disappointed for not getting to see ningningâs plan on the big screen.
she ran over, opening the door for you, and saying goodbye in a cheery tone, before letting you out.
going down the same stairs, you reached the lonely lobby, and stood outside in the street, thinking about how you were going to transport everything.
taking out a long rope from a compartment on your bike, you used it to tie all the canvases like a present tie, and then took two ends of the rope, tying it on your back. you made sure none would fall out or that the knots were lose before sitting down.
placing your helmet on, the sound of the system connecting ran through, a following voice. âare you sure thatâs safe?â
âiâm alright,â you replied, placing your hands on your thighs, waiting for the map to connect.
âyeah i donât care, iâm talking about the canvases,â ĂŚ-yn remarked, making you irk at her comment, âyou know? sometimes you have to learn to keep your mouth shut, or your pixels, whatever,â you huffed, the helmet screen projecting a map.
âwhatever you say,â she yawned, leaning on the edge of the screen, observing the road. âthis is the fastest route, but be careful, itâs already very dark-â
âi can see that-â
âso, turn on your lights,â she smiled smugly, as you had forgotten to. âplease.â
you did so, not without rolling your eyes, and went on your way to the place ningning had instructed you to.
it was a strangely secluded place out of the city, but it wasnât far, youâve heard about it. and now, visiting it at night, made you feel everything but safe.
the well-lit streets and nice buildings slowly turned into numerous alleys, and berated brick walls, a small rain had started, making the road a bit slippery too. you had to cover the canvases with your jacket to make sure they didnât get ruined.
lamppost lights flickered over you, adding an eerie feel to the small voice in your head that told you to get out of here as soon as possible.
you were a few minutes away from your destination, no more than ten, when something strange happened, making you stop your bike.
the helmet got disconnected, the screen turning entirely black. you pressed the break on your motorcycle, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the lonely street.
âthatâs strange,â you mumbled, taking off your helmet to inspect it, wanting for it to just be a small error, nothing grand.
your ĂŚâs voice made the road seem less scary until now, that it shut off. for some reason it wouldnât turn back on, so you had to restart the system.
the lights on your helmet soon slid through its accents, letting you know it was on. placing it over your head, you watched as the screen came to life, making you meet a white logo of the headwear company.
but then, it glitched, and then it glitched again, until the screen turned black, making you lose al hope in getting it back on.
âyouâve got to be kidding,â you sighed, looking down.
and in the middle of the screen, something else appeared. a logo similar to the ĂŚ, a snake slithering through the first letter.
that was the last you heard of your ĂŚ.
the news of a massive synk out soon were in everybodyâs screens. people were all over the place, panicking, being scared. they didnât know where their ĂŚ had gone, and nobody knew how it happened.
that night, the city had been blasting messages to the ĂŚ, and calling for anybody who had information about the synk out.
it felt incredibly alone. having someone by your side, that understood you, and had your back, and then not anymore, without a reason.
â-it has been five months since the phenomenon, called synk out. forcibly disconnected synk with ĂŚâs across the city simultaneously-â
âmove out of the way,â you interrupted the video playing on a girlâs phone in the audience. she jumped, turning quickly to face you, looking up at your face.
âiâm so sorry,â she apologized, recognizing your face.
five months. it was all it took you to become one of the best and fastest motorcycle racers. you had gone against countless of people, for now, no one had been able to beat you. and thatâs how you wanted it to remain. you trusted your own instincts in these races, not looking for help from anyone.
âyeah, okay, so are you moving out of the way or?â you raised a brow at her, as she had been staring at you for a some seconds.
you pushed her out, and walked towards the road, seeing the bike parked at the starting line. getting on it, you were about to place your helmet on your head until a voice spoke.
âyou know, you were just like that,â heeseung said, getting on his own bike, racing for the fun of it. he had already gone against you too many times to count, and even if it was hard always coming up in second place, the money of maintaining that place was worth it.
âwhat are you talking about?â you placed your helmet on your lap, looking at him with confusion on your face.
he rolled his eyes, pointing to your right. your eyes turned to look at the sight. the same girl which you had pushed out of the way, filming you, as she had a poster with your name on it.
your eyes slightly widened, and you sent a senseless nod, turning back to him, âwhat are you talking about?â
heeseung laughed at your words, as you had repeated the same question, but now with an entirely different tone and meaning. âi remember the day we met, a scaredy young girl, still in high school, who beamed away from home to come see her older brother race,â he started, making you feel a bit of nostalgia at the memory.
it was almost like it had been yesterday. when you snuck off to go cheer on your brotherâs last race. he was leaving the city for university. you had always looked up to him, as he spent little time with you, making him that âcool mysterious older brotherâ.
you were so tiny in that small crowd of tall high schoolers and college students, looking for a familiar face. when you then bumped into a racer. he looked you in the eye, confused as to why a middle school girl was here, and in your point of view, he was going to beat you up, but you still admired how cool and awesome the rider looked, even attempting to take some pictures with him.
a boy and his friends âsavedâ you, who now you know as heeseung, sunghoon and jake. the two last never raced, they only came to support heeseung, and occasionally you.
âi wasnât obnoxious and annoying,â you retorted, sliding your helmet on, not wanting to hear more of it.
âwere you not?â heeseung laughed, reaching over to punch you lightly, making you throw him a look he could feel, even if you had the visor covering your eyes.
your attention was back on the dim light street before you, as a familiar girl excitedly stood in the middle of it. ten motorcycles were standing in front of her menacingly, as they revved their engines.
she raced her hand in the air, and you leaned forward in anticipation, your chest almost touching the front of the bike. her hand fell, and quickly, all motorcycles zoomed past her at an incredibly fast pace, like ghosts.
you were behind two bikers, easily making your way past the others who were now behind you.
this was a familiar circuit, it was the last one you had used ĂŚ-ynâs help on, the last race she had completed with you. it almost felt like a duty to come first place on this race now. as if you owed it to her.
you were fast on the first two rounds, as you had come a few days ago to become more familiar with the streets and shortcuts. now, you were driving alongside heeseung, as he had the time to salute you mockingly, always having the time of his life on races.
it was a feeling hard to describe, you just had to experience it on your own, the rush on your muscles, your ragged breath, the heat of the engine near your legs, the vibrations of the motor under your fingertips, it was all human controlled.
this was all you.
at the last lap, you were head in head with another biker, as they tried to speed up past you, successfully doing so. you leaned forward once again, panting, as your bike cut through the air, taking up more velocity.
their bike clashed against your on the side, the adrenaline making it impossible to feel any pain, you couldnât look anywhere but ahead of you now.
it was the closest call ever, but like always, you came in first.
you were in a bliss, it felt good winning, knowing nobody could be better at this than you. the crowd swarmed around you, some congratulating you and some others challenging you, thinking they would be the ones to beat you.
in the midst of it all, you looked to the side, seeing a familiar figure leaning on a wall, and when they noticed you, they immediately went to hide behind it.
you furrowed your brows, dismissing some people without paying attention to them, as you tried to cross the street with some difficultly, there was just so many people.
you managed to pry some of them off and get away, wanting to know what this was about. as you got to the alley, two hands grabbed your jacket, pulling you closer with great force.
your back collided with the wall, making you wince, and look up at the person. â why are you here?! what is your problem karina?!â you said in anger.
karina wore her hair down, a big jacket over her, as she stepped back with an incredulous look, âwhat is my problem?! what is yours?! we havenât heard from you in months, and now we find out youâre this hardcore illegal racer?â
âi donât like the word hardcore,â you cringed, looking to the side, âand i donât see why it has anything to do with you, the four of you know iâve been doing this since forever,â you spoke back.
she shook her head, clearly distraught, âyeah, well, i didnât think throwing your life away, ignoring your friends and family was that serious to you,â she pushed her finger with blame into your chest, âand iâve told you, not to wear shorts while racing.â
you frowned and looked down at your legs, seeing a big portion of your skin bleeding, and scratched, bruised. probably from when you crashed with the other biker side to side.
âoh my god,â you swallowed, breathing heavily, feeling as if your legs were giving out. all the adrenaline and rush made you not feel the pain, but now it coursed through you incredibly hot, making your skin feel almost burning to the touch.
âkarina iâm-â
âdonât say it,â she warned.
âiâm going to die,â you wailed. ever since you were a kid, you hated getting hurt, small scars from playing outside, cuts from cooking or bumping into someone. it made you feel sick.
youâve never broken a bone, got stung by a bee nor stepped into glass. all the time youâve been careful not to put yourself into small harms way, except for the fact that you quite literally sit in a bike and race and do crazy life-challenging stunts.
âokay, calm down,â karina sighed, going over to your side, and looping her arm around your shoulders, âmy apartment is close, letâs get you fixed up,â she smiled.
inside, she was trying not to flinch at how much your wound must hurt, from the small look she took, karina could tell it was deep, and you were likely in extreme pain right now. so she wanted to act nice to make you feel a bit light headed, and not think about pain so much.
âno, wait-â you stopped on your tracks, âiâm not going to walk all the way over there,â you scoffed, feeling as if daggers were puncturing your leg repeatedly.
âi brought my car dumbass,â she laughed, helping you to walk.
âokay.â you breathed, âokay, okay. wait!â you stopped again, now making her groan in annoyance, âwhat now?â
âmy motorcycle! call heeseung! tell him to take it with him,â you nodded, almost vulnerable, looking up at her with teary-red eyes.
âalright,â karina reassured you, holding you closer, âiâll let him know once we get you to my car,â she continued saying warmly.
karina did in fact call him, and even turned on the speaker, letting heeseung call you very not-nice names because you got hurt on impulse.
the ride to her apartment was quick, not more than a couple of short minutes, but it was just enough for you to fall asleep, your body not wanting to be awake to feel the pain of the wound any longer, as your muscles had also grown tired from the race.
karina made the effort to carry you upstairs, trying not to get blood on her white jeans, and even almost waking you up and having you walk all the way up there by yourself, but she didnât.
she much preferred having your blood on her white jeans.
months ago she would have woke you up, telling you how stupid and reckless you had acted, but now, she knew just how important these raced were for you, even if it was done in a non-normative way. she respected it, and was glad that something kept you going.
once she got to her apartment, she got the help of three others to clean you up, getting the dirty clothes off and fixing up your wound the best they could, reminding themselves to take you to the hospital as soon as they could tomorrow if you got bad.
your consciousness slowly started to get back later at night. your body was incredibly sore and tired, but too much preoccupations woke up your mind.
looking around, you noticed you were in karinaâs living room, on her couch. trying to stand up, your leg instantly started burning, and you looked down to see it wrapped in a bandage, a bit of blood leaking through the white.
you had a big shirt on, with some rockets and spaceships printed on it, and a pair of cookie monster shorts on. aside from that, the tv was on, and you noticed four pair of shoes by the doorway.
âfuck noâŚâ you whispered, knowing exactly who was in the apartment with you right now.
you had a feeling it was past midnight and they were asleep, as no noises coursed the apartment apart from your heavy breathing, so it was okay to assume you were safe to go get water.
slowly walking in your heels, you made your way to the kitchen, trying to feel around for the cups cabinet, and as if luck had completely vanished from your side, you dropped a handful of things that came tumbling down to the ground, making a loud continuous noise of metal clashing against each other.
âof course,â you grumbled, soon hearing a light turn on from a bedroom, as someone came out from it.
you dropped to the floor, hiding behind the kitchen isle, as winter came closer to the kitchen, looking around confusedly, not being able to spot what had made the noise.
cursing to yourself for the inconvenient hiding spot, your leg started to hurt even more. it was too much pain to tolerate. so you had to stand up abruptly, scaring the girl standing right on the other side of the kitchen isle.
âahhhhh!â winter swung at you with her hand, but you stopped her, grabbing her wrist, âstop! itâs me!â
winter blinked, and stepped back, looking at the living room, where your previous resting spot was left alone, âoh, youâre up,â she spoke calmly, her heart beating quickly from the scare.
âyeah iâm up,â you turned around, now having enough illumination to be able to get a cup of water, and pick up everything you dropped.
âyouâre not really quiet,â winter giggled, dragging out a chair from underneath the counter, jumping on it, âbut again, youâve always been rowdy.â she pouted.
âuh huh,â you replied back, not really interested, not wanting to face her, nor the rest any time soon.
you turned on the tap, watching as the water infuriatingly slowly filled the cup. your finger tapped against the side of it, as if to hurry it up.
âoh hey,â winter spoke, her voice tired, as you heard another pair of footsteps come into the kitchen.
âwinter? y/n? why are you two up?â ningning yawned, and then remembered, âwait, y/n, what about your-â
âyes, it hurts,â you turned off the tap, and turned to them. both looked a bit different. ningningâs hair lighter, and winter had cute it shorter, also making it darker, like chocolate.
âthen why are you up?â ningning shook her head, a few pieces of hair falling down to her face. you raised your water, that being your answer.
that was always your answer. absolutely nothing.
for months they have been trying to get closer to you. the day ningning sent you out to deliver the canvases, was the last they saw of that y/n. in essence you were still her, but you had changed, as people do with time.
with no ĂŚ around, you were just you. no y/n and ĂŚ-yn, anymore at least. and with all your winnings, you felt as if it was for the better, the synk out. it wasnât that you had thought of getting rid of your ĂŚ. that though never even once crossed your mind, but it was nice not relying on her, but relying on the actual you.

In my new painting ÂŤHands of God Nebula,Âť I intended to explore the intersection of cosmic beauty and human sensuality. In this oil painting, I depict a nude man standing against an abstract, dark blue-violet background that echoes the vastness of space. His body, illuminated by vibrant bursts of colorâreds, purples, orangesâcreates a visual connection to the imagery of the ÂŤHand of GodÂť nebula. This fusion of the celestial and corporeal invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty of the male form as both erotic and universal.
The figureâs posture, with hands resting on his lower abdomen, emphasizes his vulnerability while celebrating his strength and physical presence. Through the swirling, radiant colors, I sought to express a sense of energy and fluidity, evoking both the mysterious grandeur of the cosmos and the intimate beauty of the nude male body. This painting is a personal reflection on homoeroticism, identity, and the profound connection between human and cosmic creation.

Possible Mia Ikumi Doujin Penname
First off, thanks to @berrychanx who found the initial doujin listing and @kuro93 who I know also looked into this and bought some of her works! Second off, warning for some suggestive doujin covers and other art, although there's nothing truly explicit.
First things first, I want to say that I sat on this information for a little bit considering if it was appropriate to speculate since Ikumi never chose to make this connection publicly. Ultimately I've decided to go through with it since imo the artstyle is instantly recognizable, so it'd come out eventually. I also found some still-up online accounts associated with this penname, and I know that's a thing the fandom has wanted to see for a long time. I'd ask that you please be respectful with this info and keep in mind it is NOT confirmed and that Mia Ikumi has passed away.
I'd also like to make clear that I'm totally uninterested in trying to figure out her birth name or track down any other personal info on her life that she didn't choose to share in doujin, her website, manga notes, interviews, etc. That feels very out of line. Finding other pennames can help us fans catalogue more of her work, but finding her real identity does nothing but violate her privacy.
So that's kind of where I'm at right now. If you feel differently about whether it's right to speculate on Ikumi's doujin works, or if you don't want to see anything even a little suggestive, please turn back now.
We know for sure that Mia Ikumi was a penname, since that was confirmed in ads for Re-Turn when she changed one of the characters.
ĺžćľˇçžäş ďźĺžćľˇćŞäşăăăăłăăźă ĺ¤ć´ăăăžăă Ikumi Mia *Ikumi Mia yori penneemu henkou saremashita Mia Ikumi (ĺžćľˇçžäş) *[Her] penname was changed/altered/revised from Mia Ikumi (ĺžćľˇćŞäş)
Prior to her return to Nakayoshi with some TMM anniversary art and then the 2020 Re-Turn short, the last work she published under that name was Koi Cupid, way back in 2005-08.
There's always been speculation as to whether she continued drawing manga under a different penname, but there was never any official word from her once her website went down, since she was not active under that name under any social media or on Pixiv. We also had no idea how her art might have evolved in the years since her last official release, so there was no guarantee we'd recognize any work of hers if we saw it. The first anyone saw of her art post-website was back in 2015 when she drew some art of Ichigo and then Ichigo, Mint, and Lettuce for the 60th anniversary of Nakayoshi.
https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/132481043559/more-nakayoshi-60th-anniversary-mew-mew-art-from https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/118704238761/ichigo-momomiya-in-her-cafe-mew-mew-uniform-drawn https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/130755109662/new-picture-of-ichigo-minto-retasu-drawn-by
As you can see, this art featured a pretty different art style than she'd had 2 decades back.
(Sidenote: it seems she also did some art for the 55th anniversary, back in 2010, but this is much closer to the dates when she was working under the Mia Ikumi name and has roughly the same art style as OG TMM: https://hikayagami.tumblr.com/post/151430694480/doodles-of-ichigo-and-berry-drawn-by-mia-ikumi )
Obviously, starting in 2019, she then went on to release the two-shot manga TMM 2020 Re-Turn, some miscellaneous promo art (Blu-ray bonus comic, Alice in Wonderland merch, Smewthie fanart, etc.), and finally new covers and bonus comics for most of the rereleased manga volumes before her passing. Between the works she published in the 90s-early 2000s and all of this new art, we have a pretty good sample size of her artstyle over time. So it was only a matter of time before someone stumbled on something familiar lookingâŚ
Berrychanx found a listing (https://jp.mercari.com/item/m11046282201 ) for an Idolmaster doujin called Room Fight! created as a collab between 2 doujin circles/artists: Nameless Color (ăăźăăăăăăź) and Komomo+ (ăăăăˇăă), published by Poco Poco in 2014. The seller specifically noted that the style looks very similar to Mia Ikumi's, and it's very hard to argue! The hands especially look the way that Ikumi has always drawn them, and the eyes, facial expressions, and hair shading is pretty much one to one for Re-Turn.
Nameless Color has some other works, but they aren't in this same artstyle at all. Therefore, the one whose style matches Mia Ikumi's is Komomo+.
https://doujinrepublic.com/product/tag_page.html?tags=85361&ref=product_page&type=rel_tag_circle
As far as I can tell, the doujin circle is named Poco Poco, and the artist's penname is Komomo Kozakura (ĺ°ćĄĺ°ćĄ) or later Komomo (ĺ°ćĄ) or Komomo+ (written as ăăăăˇăă). There's a lot of variation in which spelling is used across doujin sites, and sometimes Komomo is listed as the circle name rather than Poco Poco, but I'm unsure as to whether this is a change in how presumed-Ikumi branded herself or just a lack of organization in the websites. Also, the Room Fight! doujin is categorized under komomo+ (https://www.suruga-ya.jp/product/detail/ZHORE153927) and under Komomo Kozakura (https://ecs.toranoana.jp/tora/ec/item/040030276511/ ), so Iâm sure theyâre the same person and not just 2 people in the same circle.
Here are the titles I could find under all of these names across various websites in approximate publishing order:
https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=&ck=true&inStock=On&person_id=1051050 https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=&ck=true&inStock=On&person_id=2874482 https://www.suruga-ya.jp/search?category=&search_word=&person_id=2864627 https://ecs.toranoana.jp/tora/ec/cot/circle/LUPA2D6P8476d16Qd687/all/
The main fandoms are Idolmaster, Kantai Collection, and Strike Witches. It's immediately obvious how much they look like Ikumi's style, from small details like the faces to larger things like how she tends to pose characters on her covers. They range from 2008-2016, and you can see that earlier works look a little more like her TMM-era art while later stuff is way more Re-Turn.
So is that all the new info? Do we need to track down and buy these doujin to get any more new info on Mia Ikumi? Well, thatâs definitely a thing you can do! But thereâs one other avenue.
You see, the title page of Girls Fight! does lead to a now defunct webpage: pocopoco.sblo.jp
https://web.archive.org/web/20081201000000*/pocopoco.sblo.jp
The Wayback Machine has 5 captures for this website: 12/31/08, 2/25/11, 6/3/13, 4/25/16, and 3/14/23. The latest one just shows the same error page not found message as if you try and go to the site now, but the others all have blog entries ranging from 2008 to the end of 2015 (i.e., starting RIGHT after the end of Koi Cupid/Mia Ikumi's professionally published/official manga career).
https://web.archive.org/web/20090103031628/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/article/20797588.html https://web.archive.org/web/20160425011557/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/article/170290508.html
Mostly these posts are either drawings or advertisements for a new book she's selling at a con or online by mail order, so thereâs a whole bunch of new art. (Warning: there's nothing outright nsfw, but some of these images are probably the most suggestive ones I link in this post, moreso than even most of the doujin covers. Use your own judgment!) The rest of the posts are personal diary entries.
(Sidenote: I am NOT going to translate this whole blog because thereâs a whole bunch of text! I looked through the available pages, and the auto-translated version is fine for getting a basic understanding. If you have questions about a specific post, feel free to ask, though! Right off the bat, the text on the big image at the top of the earlier captures, the one with the green-haired catgirl in a red outfit, is just a paraphrasing of the post where she explains her categories/tags to help you navigate the site https://web.archive.org/web/20090103030651/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/article/21376253.html )
This website, crucially, also links to Komomo's pixiv account (Username: ĺ°ćĄ/Komomo), which is still up!
https://www.pixiv.net/users/3966440
(I was logged in when I accessed the page, so it's possible you may need an account to view it. Please do keep in mind this is not an account publicly associated with Ikumi/TMM and that the owner is likely deceased. We don't need to leave random comments and messages.)
The oldest picture is from 2012, when she created it (she posts about this), and the most recent picture is from 2018, so you can really see the artstyle shift here as well. There is no reference to TMM or Mia Ikumi anywhere.
The blog also links to her NicoNico page (Username: ĺ°ćĄ/Komomo), where she posted a few Vocaloid covers from 5/16/10 to 6/4/11.
https://www.nicovideo.jp/user/16890918/
She talks about uploading these covers on her blog under her utattemita/âI tried singingâ tag: https://web.archive.org/web/20160425011607/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/category/907578-1.html
So, the art definitely matches with what we know of Mia Ikumiâs art, both from published works and stuff posted online to her official website, ikumimia.chu.jp (Hika posted some of the website art here and here if you arenât familiar)
(As a tangent, that website seems to have been created at or before 5/7/07 and gone offline sometime between 7/1/10 and 7/27/11, so there was definitely a period where she was working under both identities at onceâŚ)
But is there any other info linking Komomo and Mia Ikumi?
The site doesn't give much personal detail about Komomo irl, but it does say she was born in spring, and Mia Ikumi's birthday was March 27th.
ăăăăŁăźăŤ ĺĺĺ°ćĄĺ°ćĄă§ăă ä¸č¨:ćĽçăžăă§ăă Profile My name is Komomo Kozakura. In a word, I was born in spring.
There's also a diary entry about her getting a Scottish fold kitten for her mom in 2008 after the family cat passed away 2 years back. We know from the bonus comics in the TMM manga that Mia Ikumi had a Scottish fold.

Komomo also says sheâs interested in gothic lolita clothing and that she dresses up at events. We know Mia Ikumi also dressed up for events, since thatâs in her bio, and she drew her outfits in manga bonus page.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160425154658/http://pocopoco.sblo.jp/category/627816-1.html
Between the art, the timeline of when things were posed vs Ikumi's public career, and the small bits of overlapping info on the artists' lives, I'm very confident that Mia Ikumi and Komomo Kozakura are two pennames for the same artist.
As for why, we can only speculate. I will say it's pretty common for artists to use a different penname for doujin work vs professional work, although some keep it more secret than others. It's especially common if the doujin work is more risque than the professional, which is the case here. I'll also say that almost all of Ikumi's post-TMM works were fairly short. Only One Wish may have been imagined as a one-volume anthology from the start, but it seems like TMM a La Mode and Repure may have been canceled early based on rushed endings with a lack of follow-up on plot points. Comi Digi +, the magazine in which Koi Cupid was published, got discontinued in 2008, presumably ending that series early as well. Ikumi also seems pretty annoyed with her editor in the a La Mode bonus comics, so possibly she was frustrated with baggage of the Mia Ikumi identity and wanted a fresh start.
Possibly she stopped putting out work around 2018 or possibly she started working under another penname. Maybe that was when Nakayoshi got in contact with her to begin planning for ReTurn, Ole/Au Lait, New, the TMM Blu-ray, the manga re-release, etc.
In conclusion, it seems like there are many more works by the artist known as Mia Ikumi than we'd thought previously, plus slightly more of a web presence, although this seems to have ended years before the TMM 20th anniversary renaissance. It's possible there are more accounts under the Komomo/ĺ°ćĄ name or under another penname that might be found in the future.

"Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho's charity, Sentebale, is preparing to unveil something special in New York City.
"PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that Sentebale has partnered with Ki Smith Gallery for an art exhibition titled "Friend," which will open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 14. The exhibition, running until Jan. 19, will be free to attend, with an option for visitors to make on-site donations to Sentebale. Members of the public can RSVP to attend through the gallery's website. The display will feature works by pioneers of Minimalism and Op Art alongside contemporary artists, with 100% of the gallery's profits donated to Sentebale from the sale of the art.
"In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso said, 'This collaboration with Ki Smith and his gallery is incredibly meaningful to the organization. Having Ki join us in Lesotho this past October to see Sentebaleâs work ďŹrsthand, and to experience the creativity, resilience and determination of the young people we serve, was truly special. âFriendâ is making art accessible to everyoneâan act that resonates deeply with Sentebaleâs ethos of leaving no one behind. This exhibition captures the spirit of inclusivity and community that lies at the heart of both Sentebale and Ki Smith Gallery. Sharing art as a powerful force for connection and change, is inspiring.'
"The Duke of Sussex will attend an intimate launch party on Wednesday, Dec. 4, to officially kick off the exhibit."

âď¸UPDATES ON GOOP!SMG4 WEBSITE
hey chat and goop!4 enthusiasts, since the Team teasing us may allude to something big, that means I have to get a move on my biggest project yet. I thought I should share with you guys how it looks so far! (and a need of help from you guys...)
I finally got the colors right :)
Now, some context: there is a lot of evidence and mystery surrounding IGBP, especially signs of it appearing in new episodes. As co-CEO of the Goop!4 theory (hey that's me :D), I have to do my part as a theorist.
"Why a website?"
I want it to be a sort of source for anyone to use. Theorists, artists, writers, you name it. As much as I try to stay organized with my little pieces of the theory scattered everywhere, it is tiring for me (and I can imagine for some people) to go through this confusing treasure map of links and know which piece goes first. Everything will all be in one place and it'll be easier for me to send updates if new evidence comes up. Plus, you can share it in your socials and friends!
As I said, it'll be a source and that means everything has and will be examined to the smallest detail. Besides, you are talking to a theorist who's willing to study the stars for this theory.
I'm dead serious. And I'll do it for us with honor.
"Why do you call it goop!4?"
Familiar with my theories or not, I theorized how the black goo and the red monster are two separate parasites that correlate both characterwise and plotwise to SMG4 and Mr Puzzles respectively. Y'know Venom-style, host and parasite symbiosis.
So if you saw me going crazy saying "puzzlevision 2" or "eye of ra" in my episode reviews, this is why.
I could've named it simply "goo!4" but it doesn't sound just as silly. Look at me in the eye and tell me 4 isn't a silly little guy.
Goop!4 just fits! (Also it's a nice nod to "Gooby4")
Obviously, since college is still a thing, this project would take time to finish. I'm getting there though. BUT I do need a bit of help from you guys. Here's basically what I have so far for the website:
wiki-like pages of everything you need to know about the black goo and the red monster (appearances, abilities, etc.)
connections between each parasite to its corresponding host
hidden design/motifs details in the parasites that relate to IGBP's overall themes
puzzlevision+ and how goop!4 might come back in a future arc
a google form where anyone can submit evidence for me to look over
(and the usual website stuff such as an updates and about page)
As it is for the fans, you guys can tell me what should be included in this list, anything that you want to know or info that could help other people. I am planning to make a discussion-base platform like a Tumblr community and/or a strawpage, let me know which one you prefer. Also, probably in the future, I'm going to need a few beta testers before the official launch.
Anyway, I do want to thank each and every one of you for being on this incredible journey so far. For hearing me out, for showing excitement. It's been a pleasure. Of course, I'll continue with the other content I do, but this passion project is what Ink is all about.
For that, my dear fellows, things are about to get iĚľĚ̤nĚľĚÍt̡Ě̤eĚśĚĚr̜̞̝eĚ´ÍĚŤsĚśĚÍtĚśĚĚŽiĚśĚĚnĚ´ÍÍgĚśÍÍ

ok since i've been sharing some piracy stuff i'll talk a bit about how my personal music streaming server is set up. the basic idea is: i either buy my music on bandcamp or download it on soulseek. all of my music is stored on an external hard drive connected to a donated laptop that's next to my house's internet router. this laptop is always on, and runs software that lets me access and stream my any song in my collection to my phone or to other computers. here's the detailed setup:
my home server is an old thinkpad laptop with a broken keyboard that was donated to me by a friend. it runs yunohost, a linux distribution that makes it simpler to reuse old computers as servers in this way: it gives you a nice control panel to install and manage all kinds of apps you might want to run on your home server, + it handles the security part by having a user login page & helping you install an https certificate with letsencrypt.
***
to stream my music collection, i use navidrome. this software is available to install from the yunohost control panel, so it's straightforward to install. what it does is take a folder with all your music and lets you browse and stream it, either via its web interface or through a bunch of apps for android, ios, etc.. it uses the subsonic protocol, so any app that says it works with subsonic should work with navidrome too.
***
to listen to my music on my phone, i use DSub. It's an app that connects to any server that follows the subsonic API, including navidrome. you just have to give it the address of your home server, and your username and password, and it fetches your music and allows you to stream it. as mentionned previously, there's a bunch of alternative apps for android, ios, etc. so go take a look and make your pick. i've personally also used and enjoyed substreamer in the past. here are screenshots of both:
***
to listen to my music on my computer, i use tauon music box. i was a big fan of clementine music player years ago, but it got abandoned, and the replacement (strawberry music player) looks super dated now. tauon is very new to me, so i'm still figuring it out, but it connects to subsonic servers and it looks pretty so it's fitting the bill for me.
***
to download new music onto my server, i use slskd which is a soulseek client made to run on a web server. soulseek is a peer-to-peer software that's found a niche with music lovers, so for anything you'd want to listen there's a good chance that someone on soulseek has the file and will share it with you. the official soulseek client is available from the website, but i'm using a different software that can run on my server and that i can access anywhere via a webpage, slskd. this way, anytime i want to add music to my collection, i can just go to my server's slskd page, download the files, and they directly go into the folder that's served by navidrome.
slskd does not have a yunohost package, so the trick to make it work on the server is to use yunohost's reverse proxy app, and point it to the http port of slskd 127.0.0.1:5030, with the path /slskd and with forced user authentification. then, run slskd on your server with the --url-base slskd, --no-auth (it breaks otherwise, so it's best to just use yunohost's user auth on the reverse proxy) and --no-https (which has no downsides since the https is given by the reverse proxy anyway)
***
to keep my music collection organized, i use beets. this is a command line software that checks that all of the tags on your music are correct and puts the file in the correct folder (e.g. artist/album/01 trackname.mp3). it's a pretty complex program with a ton of features and settings, i like it to make sure i don't have two copies of the same album in different folders, and to automatically download the album art and the lyrics to most tracks, etc. i'm currently re-working my config file for beets, but i'd be happy to share if someone is interested.
that's my little system :) i hope it gives the inspiration to someone to ditch spotify for the new year and start having a personal mp3 collection of their own.

Seven Crimes and Punishments Interview (2015)
There are a lot of interviews that mothy has done over the years that aren't published in official Evillious material. I can't promise to find them, and I have very little desire to translate them, but if people point them out to me I'll try to make a quick summary of their contents like I've been doing for his blog.
This one's from the Japanese entertainment website "Natalie", linked [here]
Content summary under the cut
basic info on mothy, that he's a song producer who's been there since pretty much the beginning, a pioneer of VOCALOID novels, etc etc. Ichika is also present for this interview, as his main illustrator. At this point it's been 7 years since Daughter of Evil came out.
-He had no idea he'd be going this long. mothy had no intention or expectation of making money off this when he first started, viewing it instead as a hobby. He admits that he still feels that way even now that he's successful.
-Seven Crimes and Punishments, however, was planned in advance. He'd figured that he wanted to release something that compiled the Seven Deadly Sins songs at the 7 year mark, and was conveniently approached by a major record label to do so (even if they hadn't reached out to him he would have done so anyway).
-He really likes being able to concretely show the songs are connected.
-This isn't new information but mothy didn't originally have all of Evillious in mind when making Daughter of Evil. All he'd conceived of was the setting for Daughter of Evil. It was only later that he started making things connected (this is another thing he likes--having stories that seem to be unrelated at first and then revealing they're in the same world). He got the idea around the time he was making Evil Food Eater Conchita.
-mothy has always liked fantasizing about stories, but never had an outlet for them before. Hence why he went so overboard when making the songs.
-Ichika found it easy to illustrate Daughter of Evil because of how clearly the song told its story.
-mothy's affinity for telling stories in songs is at least partly inspired by Western heavy metal music. In particular he cites the bands Helloween and Stratovarius (who tell fantasy stories with their music). He also mentions the early works for Makihara Noriyuki (a JPop artist), which also had stories to them.
-He also talks a little about the historical basis for telling complex narratives through music, such as medieval minstrels, opera, musicals, etc. So he doesn't think there's anything special about what he's doing; it's just that such music isn't popular anymore.
-Mothy talks about Cloture, which was his first time writing a novel. Neither he nor the publisher thought it would sell, so he didn't feel pressured at all when writing it.
-He had a lot of material to make Cloture with from when he was making the setting for the song, thought it wound up being more of a foundation for him to work off of than the complete story itself. Ironically this has resulted in him coming up with so much complex plot and setting that he now struggles to fit it into his newer songs, having to promise himself he'll write whatever he can't fit into another novel.
-Ichika always tries to preserve the tone and atmosphere of the songs whenever she makes illustrations for mothy. With the songs in particular she tries to follow not just the instructions she gets, but also keeping in mind the information mothy has already made public for his story. She avoids putting her own interpretation or spin on the art, just following what mothy has in mind.
-mothy recounts how there was some debate over making novels of the songs (which he didn't mind). People apparently thought it would detract from the ability of readers to imagine their own stories with the music. But novels are derivative works of the songs, and he felt like he could write it as he wanted to as the song's author (slightly unsure what he's saying here). The attitude towards "novelizing" has changed now, of course.
-Ichika was happy to work on the manga, being able to illustrate things that didn't get shown visually in the novel.
-they discuss how mothy's fan base (and VOCALOID in general) seem to have a lot of younger people in it now, like teens and pre-teens (he would have expected an older fan base given he's been making songs for 7 years). He talks about how he's had to keep this in mind when making his work--that his songs need to appeal to kids and teens who don't know much about music, and not just to music enthusiasts and adults.
-They also discuss how mothy doesn't tailor his songs to project a cool image (and use the Onigashima song as an example, being an enka song and thus not exactly Jpop). He doesn't view himself as a "cool" person in general, and so is looking more at what's in demand in what he makes.
-mothy would doodle stories and concepts and characters for himself in elementary school, but dropped this as he entered middle school and got into music. He thinks that it's better for him to work on these things as an adult because he no longer has much pride to get in the way whenever his imagination gets the better of him.
-He worked on the short story at the same time as he was making the 4 new songs for the album. He struggled a little with the setting at first because he wanted all of the main sin characters to show up in it, but they all live in different countries and time periods (this is my own speculation, but this may be why he chose to have the end of the world play out like it did)
-Ichika talks a little about the appeal of the story, that each character isn't totally good or evil, and so they all have ways they can be likable. The story is made up of a lot of smaller events kind of compiling on each other, which makes what-ifs and the like interesting to do. Her favorite characters are Conchita and Gallerian. She also talks a little about designing the album jacket.
-they discuss the trend of making novels about VOCALOID songs--mothy noting it took off way more than he thought it would (he expected a bit of a trend, but not to this degree). He doesn't mind that he was going against the grain when he started, but he thinks it's a little overboard now (he seems to be saying that he thinks there's this pressure to make novels when really it's okay to just stick with making songs). Still though, he tries to keep to himself and not worry what other people are doing.
-Ichika has similar thoughts, where she hasn't been paying close attention to the "novel scene", but she has noted some people getting into reading through VOCALOID, or getting into VOCALOID through reading, that it serves as a good gateway genre, as it were.
-He says he's planning to keep going for at least another 5 years so he'll have been going for 12 years (for thematic reasons, of course).

The show
The name is in reference to all the American evening TV shows, like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon which is probably the inspiration for the title The Lost! Show starring RM.
The text on the hosts' mugs says ë¨ě¤ íě (inside Namjoon, src).
The stage, also featured in the Poster, is a labyrinth with no connected exits. You go in and out through the same opening.
In this setting, RM appears disguised as the only two women we see: the anchor and the director.
During the climbing scene, we see what's below the show stage. There are carton boxes and two trophies on the left, while it's suitcases and an abacus on the right.
The elevator
From this point, RM is accompanied by four personas (src): an overconfident one (played by Audrey Kang), an anxious one (played by Hee Sin (second Instagram post)), a jaded one (played by Stephany Yujin Hong (second Instagram post)) and a goofy one (played by David H Lee).
The elevator has lots of details, notably graffiti:
Lost in several languages: Pierdut (Romanian), perdu (French), lost, ëĄě¤í¸ (lost again but written in Hangul), 길ě ě... (Korean, possibly 길ě ěě ë
ěě, based on the lyrics but it's hard to confirm)
BTS-related words: BTS (written in a heart), ë¨ěŁźë âĄ3⥠(Namjoonie), éĺäż (RM's name in hanja, src)
ě´ěŠTV
ě°ě ë°ëł´ (San Yawn is a silly guy)
ě˛ěŹ ěě¤ ěë¤ę° (genius Seokjun is here, note that the "genius" is written differently than the rest)
JAM
Care, urs (hard to confirm those two but urs is bear in Romanian, so it could stand for "care bear", src)
ăžăĄ (town in Japanese)
ghost (a reference to the lyrics)
ăăăăĄă (forgetting/I forgot in Japanese)
There are also several details on the buttons.
The numbers are arranged randomly (note that the clock visible in the credits also has randomly arranged numbers) and the destination names are mostly jokes:
12 5232 22
42 (42 is famously known in pop-culture for being the answer to the Universe, a nod to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
íěĽě¤ (washroom)
Pierdut (lost in Romanian)
Nowhere
We can note that there's a smiley on buttons 81 and 73. And there are two dots on button 98, then three on button 150. There's also a heart on button 3.
The offices
At 03:41, the persona played by David H Lee uses an extinctor directly on his face... after being the one who emptied the water tank on his face.

Watch the FULL version of our trailer here!
CAPRICIOUS PROVENANCE is an award winning D&D 5e AP Audio Drama fusion set in an arcanepunk, partially homebrewed world of Eberron! After The Last War devastated Khorvaire - and their lives - fate follows four unlikely friends attempting to grapple with their own destinies as the fate of the world falls into a chaotic uncertainty.Join ourâŚheroes(?) as they navigate their ever-changing lives in the wake of destruction, wading in the depths of their trauma as they connect with the troubled people living in a fragmented world. Weâre an all queer & trans, majority BIPOC cast of tabletop creatives that bend the rules, change the lore, and break the game to tell a story of fighting tooth and nail against the way things are, and daring to hope for change.
Capricious Provenance is free to listen to, and advertisement-free. Our team is small, and we have started this project with no funding. This podcast is a labor of love and collaboration between a group of friends that are very passionate about the art they create. We are hoping to acquire funding and grow the team in the future! For now, you can support the show via Ko-fi.
Will I like Capricious Provenance?
While Capricious Provenanceâs main game system is D&D 5e, we use a mixture of different games in the podcast - such as Pathfinder and 1400 Sneak - to help tell our story. Additionally, while the world is set in 5eâs Eberron, it has been altered significantly and partially homebrewed to suit our main characters, featuring elements from various supplements such as Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting. Capricious Provenance is full of magic, whimsy, gods, monstrosities, political intrigue, and queer romance. There is a heavy focus on storytelling through character roleplay that makes room for heart wrenching character arcs and gives space for relationships between the characters to organically develop. The show explores themes of found family, generational trauma, religious trauma, healing, self discovery, the cost of war, freedom and revolution against an oppressive regime. It is ultimately a story of hope in dire times, embracing the monsters within ourselves formed by the world we live in, and finding the beauty in brutality. If you are a fan of media such as Dragon Age, Castlevania, Monster Hunter, The Owl House or Baldurâs Gate 3, you may enjoy Capricious Provenance!
Capricious Provenance Features:
A mixture of actual play and audio drama that places you in the shoes of our characters as we roll the dice.

Marianne Kolb was born in a small farming town in Switzerland and moved to the Berkley area in her mid-twenties, where she connected to the East Bay arts community. Largely self-taught, Kolbâs work is widely collected and her work has appeared in numerous publications.
She says:
"I grew up in a very small, isolated farming village in Switzerland. From a very young age my life was centered around working on our farm. At sixteen I moved into Bern, received a standard business education, and began working as a telephone operator and then as a wholesale buyer. At age twenty-five I travelled to the States. When I arrived in Berkeley I met a group of people who were very active in the East Bay arts community. For the first time an arts-related career seemed to be a possibility. Within a year of arriving in California I had secured an apprenticeship with a goldsmith and soon after began working as a full-time goldsmith and jeweler.
In 1987 I began to draw, and some time later I was given an old easel and a decrepit paint box still containing paint, brushes and mediums. This gift was the beginning of a transformed life, as if that very box were a magical vessel in which to travel. To this day it holds my curiosity, and with it I discover something new almost every day-I only have to open it!
I often change medium and scale in my work so as to retain a creative tension. I will move through a period of intense printing to months of painting. At times I put down those tools and use only stick and ink. Throughout all my work, whether I am working meticulously on a small-scale series of paintings and prints or with broad, quick gestural drawings, I am pulling from visions which I now realize were initially generated from life in a physically and mentally isolated landscape.
The first glimpse of a new piece enters my mind in moments of wandering thought and often begins as a simple, gestural sketch. The images evolve from these dreams into stage-like settings, part storytellerâs fairy tale, part real-time tale of daily survival. I focus on the forces beneath the surface-the dread, the frenzy, isolation, fear, separation, love, intimacy, hope, humor, whimsy. The setting down of these imaginations is both a sifting through and a building of a visual diction, setting one piece upon another as one would set down one word after another in a narrative. In this way the work becomes a vessel for transformation, a new way to begin."

Sanremo 2024 - the post!
Hello everyone! Here youâll find this yearâs Sanremoâs stuff and news (Iâll be uploading this post through all the week). The Festival will start on Tuesday February 6th at 8:30 pm (itâll probably have a 5 minutes âanteprima = previewâ every night), and end on Saturday February 10th, when the final will be broadcasted.
/ Official website / you can find loads of videos and interviews here + the latest news. You can already find the presentation videos of the songs made by the artists.
Raiâs website dedicated section (here) | youtube playlist | spotify playlist
TikTok official channel: @/sanremorai; @/sanremoesc Instagram official: @/sanremorai Twitter official: @/SanremoRAI; @/SanremoESC Facebook: festivaldisanremo
Also this year weâll have the PrimaFestival, the small show broadcasted on Rai1 at around 8:30 p.m. (February 4th - February 10th). The hosts are Paola & Chiara (singers), Mattia Stanga and Daniele Cabras (tiktokers).
There's gonna be some kind of Dopofestival, with Fiorello and Alessia Marcuzzi (tv/radio host) called âViva Rai2!⌠Viva Sanremoâ (jingle/sigla) right after the end of each Sanremo's night (6th-9th Feb.). Gli Autogol (comedians soccer-related) will complete some missions for Amadeus on Raiplay.
CasaSanremo- A website about Sanremo and all the artists who will take part, with more infos and interviews (also Italian places and food specialties will be shown). Follow them also on their Social Media Channels, usually they make live video/interviews/shows on FB for example.
On Sorrisi&Canzoni you will find also other infos about Sanremo and every lyricsâs explanation (ofc ask me if you need a translation)
The # on this blog is #sanremo 2024, #sanremo, #sanremo2024 you can black any of these (the first one in particular) if you want.
To watch it live:
Raiuno -> just click on the first video on the left, or here, to open the Raiuno streaming immediately (I added the whole Rai channels things in case you had troubles connecting directly and wanted to try from there). The RAIâs geoblock is usually removed for Sanremoâs week, no need to create accounts or whatsoever to enjoy Sanremo online!! Remember you can rewatch the whole event and each performance on Raiplay few minutes after it has happened (and the whole week will be avaiable as well for basically the whole following year).
FESTIVAL LIS - songs and whole exhibition explained in signs language
FANTASANREMO - this year as well you can play while enjoying your Sanremo! How does it work? Every person âbuysâ 5 artisti and marks one of them as a captain. As in the last years, artists will have to do or say something while on stage to help you gain points (and also classification will have a say).
Iâll try to write down some more infos/links through the week.
ââ-
Hosts & Guests + Other Stuff
This yearsâ host will still be Amadeus (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host. He will be accompanied by a different co-host each night: Marco Mengoni (singer; first night); Giorgia (singer; second night); Teresa Mannino (actress, comedian; third night); Lorella Cuccarini (actress, tv host, dancer, dance teacher in AMICI tv show; fourth night); Fiorello (tv and radio host, comedian, singer; last night).
Some of the one-night guests during the week will be: John Travolta (actor, dancer); Giovanni Allevi (musician); Marco Mengoni (singer); Sabrina Ferilli (actress); Giorgia (singer) will celebrate her song "E poi"'s 30th anniversary; Russel Crowe (actor, singer); Eros Ramazzotti (singer) will celebrate his song "Una terra promessa"'s 40th anniversary; Roberto Bolle (dancer); the cast of "Mameli" (new serie about the guy who wrote our National anthem); Leo Gassman (actor, singer); the cast of "Il Mare fuori" (Raiplay serie); The Nuova Orchestra Santa Balera to celebrate "Romagna Mia"'s 70th anniversary; Gigliola Cinquetti (singer) will celebrate her song "Non ho l'etĂ "'s 60th anniversary.
How it works
There will be 30 singers in the ARTISTI (artists) section. It will be the only section, as last year. 27 artists were chosen by Amadeus, while the other 3 are the winners of Sanremo Giovani (held in December 2023). The winner of the competition will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest: if he/she/they wonât accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified or the next (the first one accepting). This year we're gonna listen to all the 30 songs on the first night. The 2nd and 3rd night, we'll get to listen to 15 songs each night. The artisti that are not performing during the 2nd night will introduce the performing ones and vice versa on the 3rd night. The artisti introducing the performing artisti will be decided by a public draw during the Sanremo's press conferences on the 2nd and 3rd day. On the 4th night, there will be the usual âcoversâ night: the artisti this year can choose any song, national or international, from any year (until December 2023) and by anyone (even themselves).

The Significance of Maps in Tolkienâs Works
Maps play an integral role in The Lord of the Rings. They provide context for the charactersâ journeys, from Frodoâs trek through Mordor to Aragornâs pursuit of his destiny.
Types of Lord of the Rings Maps
The Original Middle-earth Map: This map, depicting key locations like Rivendell, Mordor, and the Shire, is a favorite among enthusiasts.

Focus on Quality
When choosing a map, ensure itâs well-crafted. Look for high-quality prints or artistically designed pieces that stand out as decorative items.

I have a question, I've recently realized that posting my art on social media has led to me sort of obsessing with how that art is received and leading to my emotions about that art, and the art I make in the future, to be affected. How do you manage the problems that posting your art on social media can bring to your mindset/creation process while still posting your art on social media? You've spoken a lot about this, but still regularly post your art on here, how do you feel about this at the moment etc? Because I do quite like sharing my creations with the world, I just wish I didn't immediately get weird about it
Hello... Oh wow.. honestly i struggle with it like every day and have not found a solution to this.. unfortunately whenever i post i am mostly doing it compulsively / out of addiction for the feedback / out of fear of becoming irrelevant (+ also i need to open comms officially soon so i need people to like.. know that i draw) but even aside from the financial stuff its just like ..insane.
in my opinion.. what is probably hardest about this, aside from the fact that so many people need to be on social media and turn themselves into products in order to make a living , is that we rely on it so much for things that are genuinely and infinitely valuable (art , sharing what we make with other humans ,connecting) and because of the way the internet has become we are supporting these crucial aspects of our lives in the least ideal ways possible..
im not sure.i struggle with this every day really i recommend checking out this person's words on the topic of artists and socialmedia
my main focus ideally is to try to be outside even if its hard and work out and be in nature then i regain clarity little by little. right now my brain feels like its fried ive been on my phone all day. so.. im not sure. Definetly look into people's personal websites outside of social media like the one i just linked. but.well. I havent mademy own yet ive been putting off learning html ............... But yes personal websites seem like an infinitely healthier way of sharing artwork /generally expressing ourselves online far away from all this mess &addiction. Its always crazy to me when i visit any social media after going through neocities pages i like because we dont realize how artistically limiting this set structure is at all.. "content"= goes within the container
#asks#god sorry my reply is basically. i dont know#i actually have installed instagram just now to post stuff.:(#and because theres so much stuff i cant keep up with without instagram#irl friends and such#how insane is that#anhways#i wish you the best with this we got this we are all stronger together
