New wanheda dagger idea for you. Ever since Lexa lost Costia, she's been sexually frustrated with herself. Touching herself doesn't give her the same relief as when she has a partner. Thus, Lexa hires a bedwarmer from the local brothel and selects GP Clarke to be hers
👀👀👀👀👀👀
Lexa goes to the brothel herself to pick someone. The other girls are pretty, the owner has made them stand naked for Heda to choose better which one she wishes for. They all seem eager to have Lexa pick them and they them away from this place, flirty smiles and promises of doing whatever Heda wants them to but that simply does not do anything for her. Yes a bedwarmer should do whatever it is Lexa wants her to but Lexa does not wish to have a submissive girl by her side who waits for Lexa to order her on what to do next.
So, Lexa scans the girls until she reaches the last one. She reminds Lexa of someone who originated from ice nation, with her light hair and fair skin, muscular body covered by a layer of softness, the same way ice nation warriors are built to withstand the cold. She does not seem interested in Heda, barely sparing her a semi courteous bow of the head as she lets Lexa take her in, from the blue of her eyes and the fulness of her chest down to the steong thighs and the cock that stands between them. She is not shy, doesnt try to hide her nakedness in the presence of others but she also does not flaunt herself around. Confidence without a trace of vanity. The brothel is work and if Lexa were to choose her, any of their encounters would be treated as such.
So, she chooses her.
Lexa learns her name to be Clarke. She is not Azgeda at all, she is Skaikru and might as well be the last one of them after they declared war and Lexa's army all but inhalated them.
Clarke does not enjoy talking nor does she seem impressed by much. Her disdain for Lexa and her coalition is obvious from the start but still she does try to run away or curses them out. She simply rides her horse next to Lexa's, ignoring Lexa anytime she attends to talk to her. Very well, Lexa did not buy her as a friend either way.
She cannot be older than Lexa and having found her where she did, Lexa suspects her life was not an easy one up until now. The owner of the brothel told her to be careful as Clarke is known for not being easy to deal with, liked for her roughness and disliked by it as well, she is not particularly easy to get along with and many of the other girls despised her for getting better clients despite it all.
Their first time is rough as expected. But good if it isnt everything Lexa had been missing. For all of her hostility, Lexa can see why Clarke was as popular as she was in the brothel. She is good, she knows just where to touch Lexa, how deep and how hard to go (it impresses Lexa just how full she feels only to realize Clarke is not fully inside of her yet. She suspects she will manage to take it all in by the end of the month if this is what her bedwarmer will offer to her every night). It seems to be as cathartic for Clarke as it is for Lexa, there is hate burning in Clarke's eyes but as long as this is the only way she takes it out on Lexa, she will not chastise her for it. Not when she makes Lexa cum so hard she blacks out for a minute, coming back to herself with an empty bed, her bedwarmer very clearly not there to warm her bed all night.
#letter opened#wanheda's dagger#i adore this idea anon omg#there is a LOT to develop here i think#like oh so much world building to be done#and not to mention how their relationshop would evolve#lexa killed everyone clarke knew#but then again clarke did run away from then even before the war broke out#and Lexa's loneliness too.... how clarke sees her as a dictator almost but knows if she kills her then shell die too#and clarke learning about costia and falling for lexa#as lexa starts to fall for Clarke much quicker#asking for softer sex and clarke refusing so#ideas ideas ideas#there is something here for sure#i love 'i know im hot but im not gonna seduce nobody' clarke#bedwarmer clarke

How degenerate does #fletcher au get?
I mean, pretty damn degenerate 😅 They're exes, so they already have that established intimacy, they've already shared all the softness and love and being completely head-over-heels feelings that comes with new relationships. They've already known those highs of being obsessed with each other and wanting to share everything and learn and tell the other everything about themselves. They were together for over a year, so this wasn't just a throw away relationship.
But then they broke, and on such a sour note that truly neither of them actually wanted. So you have all of that love mixed up with all this sadness and resentment in two people who are still wildly attracted to each other and who still have a lot of very deep feelings for each other.
Lexa gets into her extremely ill-conceived "relationship" with Costia as a self preservation - flailing and emotionally scrambling for anything that'd give even some comfort in the fallout -, but also as a way to hurt Clarke right back. It's shitty, but it is what it is and uh, yeah, it is effective.
So now you have two people who are in pain, and resentful, and who still love each other so much that every interaction is like ripping a scab off fresh wound. And that all translates into a powder keg of a situation once the dam breaks and they start to fall back into each other. Because it's not easy to pour those feelings out into words, but wheeew is it easy to pour it into sex. Angry fucking meant to hurt. Gentle kisses to help them come down. Cheating and hiding and lying to everyone including themselves, and maybe possibly making everything between them so much worse. But they keep going back because being together is ultimately the only thing that makes any of this feel better.
The sex was always fantastic when they were together, but now it's something else. It's something illicit. It's something dirty. It's that guilty pleasure that feels so terribly like an addiction. It's remembering how to make each other come in the five minutes they can steal away, and checking each other over for bite marks and scratches that they swear are simply accidents in the heat of the moment. It's fucking in bathrooms at house parties when they've spent the entire night pretending to ignore each other. It's sending the other back to their dates with the taste of their come still fresh on their tongue. It's late nights spent crying and fighting and slowly falling back in love under the guise of work or some other quickfire excuse to whoever is expecting them. It's each of them telling themselves this time is the last time... and then doing it all over again

Clexa x reader headcannons
Part 1
English is not my first language, so if you catch a grammar mistake or have any tips to help me improve, just send me a message.
This was meant to be a fic i was writing but i'm lazy and wouldn't finish it. This is best second thing. I wrote this cause i wanted to read it. Write the fic you wanna see in the world.
If ends up being too OOC i apologize. Its been years since i watched the 100 and i was too eager to write and post this to do any research of the plot and Lexa and Clarke personalities.
That's it. Hope you enjoy.
Warnings: violence, mention of child abuse and death.
- You are an assassin.
- Some would call your methods cowards ones, but they couldn't deny they were efficient.
- You were from Azgeda.
- A fierce assassin. Trained since you could remember.
- The first things you could remember was your trainer hitting and toughing you up. Molding you.
- The twin knives you had were what gave you comfort.
- The lifeless gaze of your victims was what gave you purpose.
- You were a puppet of Queen Nia. With no mind of your own. Not really. What she said was what you believed.
- So when she said "the Heda is weak. She must be dethroned". You didn't bat an eye. You sneered at the thought of Heda.
- When they kidnapped Costia. You were there. You didn't get to torture her. But you watched.
- Costia never said a thing. Screamed. Begged. Yes. But never said anything about Heda.
- You felt disgust, disdain. She was pathetic.
- You had been through this many times. As a part of your training. You wonder why she couldn't hold herself. You did this when you were a child. She is a woman, in her 17 years old. She was just a disgrace to her lover.
- But, somewhere deep and hidden within you felt respect. She was loyal. You could see in her eyes. She knew something and yet she never told. You could admire that despite her making such a mess.
- She just was caught in a dangerous game.
- Ronan was your bestfriend. He was your greatest rival and greastest ally.
- He gained your respect when he bested you.
- And gained your friendship when he protected you from a punishment.
- He was the one to gift you your twin knives.
- He was soft. You knew that. But he still did what needed to be done.
- Until he didn't. He tried to free Costia, to run away with her.
- He didn't suceed. He was exiled. She was killed.
- You were on a mission when that happened. They sent Costia's head to Lexa then.
- Once you came back and learned of Ronan's betrayal, you were livid. disapointed. Alone.
- He was just too soft. Not fitting for the prince of the great Azgeda.
- The Queen Nia told to send for you. She had another mission for you.
- Heda forgave Ice Nation, therefore there was no war. So, she came up with another plan, perfect for your skillset. An assassin and spy.
- You were to serve Lexa, gather information, and when the time was right, assassinate the Heda.
- So along with other gifts, you were "given" to Heda as an "apology".
- Gustus and Indra didn't like you, they distrusted you.
- Titus was indiferent.
- Lexa hated your guts. Because of what you represented. Costia's murder.
- It takes a long time for you to get Lexa to even look at you. Let alone speak to you.
- When Queen Nia gets insastified with the lack of progression, you come up with a plan to get Lexa to see you as more than your nation.
- You plan something like Gustus did.
- A meeting of the clans is about to happen. But before that, there is a feast. And that's when your plan come to fruition.
- You poison Heda. "Save" her. Blame one of your companions. They take the fall without a complaint.
- When they look at you, awaiting for Lexa's final blow. They see the words forming in your mouth "Glory to Ice Nation".
- Lexa begins to trust you. And bit by bit, you two start to form a relationship.
- And slowly worm your way into Lexa's heart. And secrets.
Relationship with Lexa
- Angst :)
- Enemies to friends to enemies to lovers
- Lexa hated you and you hated her.
- To you, she wasn't deserving of being the commander.
- She was no Heda. Not your Heda.
- To her, you were a reminder of what was done to Costia. Her suffering, her murder, her severed head in a box.
- She may have allowed Azgeda to enter the coalition, but she didn't forget what they'd done. And she didn't forgive them. She couldn't.
- Before your plan, she wouldn't look at you. After it, she looked and talked to you, but distant, cold.
- But, oh well, it was something. And you tried to take advantage of that.
- You tried to talk. To aproach the Costia subject. To apologize.
- She almost cut your tongue right off.
- You don't try that again.
- None of your tricks to get her trust and sympathy were sucessful.
- What worked was something you didn't plan.
- Your interactions with the young natblida. Especially with Adrien.
- You liked children. Being among them. Playing and laughing as if everything was alright and nothing mattered more than having fun.
- You didn't have a happy childhood. It was robbed from you. And some part of you yearned for that.
- Kids reminded you that life could be good. If only you let yourself believe.
- Until one mission went wrong. You had to kill a mother and her child. Now, you couldn't bear to look at kids. The guilt consuming you.
- But, in Lexa's castle(?) you sometimes had to interact with them. To care for them.
- And, with time, you warmed up to them.
- You watched them train, and tried to give some pointers but not too much to reveal you were a very capable fighter.
- You started talking with them. At first very formal and to the point, but as time went on and they started to annoy and try to lure you into conversations, you somehow became a part of their group.
- Pranks, fights, and some missdeeds. All of that far from Titus of course. And near you.
- And sometimes, there were times in which you caught tears streaming down your face. Your heart squeezing. In those times, you always leave early.
- Lexa found you there. Playing fight with the natblidas.
- You built a bond with them.
- And when she saw you with Adrien, laughing so carefree, enjoying the ausent adults, she thought that perphaps, you were not that bad of a person.
- And that way, finally, your attempts at talking with Lexa were met with answers.
- At the begining, the thing you talked the most was the natblidas.
- That was how you found out how Lexa was protective and wanted to change things for the next generation. To be better. For them.
- And, slowly, little by little, your view of Lexa began to change.
- She was smart. Driven. Fierce. Strong. Determined to do whatever it takes to protect her people.
- Lexa was a stoic person. Not one to laugh easily or to joke and play around.
- There were few moments you saw her smile. Most of them were around Adrien.
- And you loved when she had a smirk in her lips.
- You start hunting together. And you had to downplay your real abilities.
- Still, there were times you tried to impress Lexa. And you did. She just didn't make a big deal out of it.
- Then, like a fire or a star falling from the sky, a new threat apperead. The skaikru.
- And you realized Lexa trusted you when she asked your opinion of them.
- She also took you with her. To meet those people who fell from the ceilling.
- You sure were an oddity. Normally helpers weren't brought along. Considered an annoyance, you received a few ugly looks, but you weren't bothered by it, you were used to a lot worse.
- Despite being busy trying to deal the best way with the skaikru, you tried to spend time with Lexa.
- Help her. Sooth. Plan. Train. Prepare. Talk.
- One night, she talks about Costia.
- She was so bare. Vulnerable. So genuinely sad. Your heart broke for her.
- And the guilt came like a snow storm you didn't prepare for. It buried you alive.
- And when she slept and you looked at her, you knew at that moment. You couldn't bring yourself to kill her. To pierce a knive in her heart.
- She did it to yours first.
- Queen Nia found a way to contact you. Eager for information on the skaikru.
- But once she learns Heda intends on forming an aliance to rescue the people locked in the mountain, she sets her plan in motion.
- This happens shortly after Gustus death
- You tried to stop it, but it was too late.
- The army was ready and coming towards you.
- You talk to Queen Nia, subtly trying to convince her to at least delay her attack. But to no avail. It was happening.
- You didn't want to. But as Nia looked into your eyes with ones hard as ice, unmelting and unrelenting as the cold, you were reminded of your duty. Of your purpose. Lifeless gaze. But, for some reason, imaging it on Lexa's green eyes sickened you.
- The attack started and you awaited in Lexa's tent. Full gear. Your knives in your hands. And your heart on the ground. Shredded to pieces for what you'd have to do.
- Lexa enters in a haste. An enemy army was attacking. Azgeda.
- Not only preparing to fight, but to make sense of what was happening. To make a plan.
- When she sees you.
- And her expression of despair. Of urgence. Of worry falls as soon as she realizes the blades in your hands. The light armour on your body.
- Her expressions hardens then. As her heart breaks as she comes to an understanding.
- You don't talk. Nothing you could say would be able to remend the situation. Or your heart.
- As you lunge for her, she dives for her sword, in the far corner in the room. And as soon as she gets it, you know you're in disadvantage
- Lexa was an acomplished warrior. You were an assassin. You were quick, silent, deadly. She was strong, resistent, powerful. And deadly.
- Either way, you held your ground. As did she. Though you didn't really think you could overpower her.
- Until she slipped. And you took advantage of it. You disarmed her and pinned her to the ground. A knive to her neck.
- If she wanted, she could throw you over. Switch positions.
- If you wanted to, you could slit her throat.
- Yet, you both stood still. Panting. Waiting for the other to make a move.
- You heard footsteps.
- Whatever was your decision. You needed to do it now.
- You tensed. Gritted your teeth, trying to steel your resolve, still your trembling hands. But it all came tumbling down when you locked eyes with that emerald green.
- And you were reminded of that little smirk on the seldom times she'd make a joke.
- Of the strong and beautiful woman, that wanted to do good. That thought of Adrien as a little brother, but would tell no one. That would bring down anything and anyone that disturbed the peace and threathened her people.
- A great leader. The Heda.
- Your Heda.
- You couldn't kill her.
- So you fleed. Got up and before Lexa could say or do anything, you ran.
...
"What about Clarke???"
Worry not, she's a lot more on the part 2 :)

Essays in Existentialism: Plus One, Ch. 2
Previously on Plus One
It oscillated every other minute between being an amazing idea, but also being the worst idea of all time, and Lexa was mostly exhausted of bouncing back and forth. It might be easier, she decided, if she just got herself on board with it being a good idea, but a deep, gnawing hole seemed to manifest itself in her gut at the very thought of seeing her ex.
As she went through the motions of finishing the day, of doing inventory because it was Wednesday, Lexa tried not to distract herself with the thoughts of her impending trip. In just forty-eight hours, she’d be face to face with Costia, who she hadn’t seen in months, who she avoided before occasionally running awkwardly into each other at mutual friends’ events. She’d come face to face with her ex who was getting married.
And she was going to do it with a complete stranger on her arm.
With a heavy sigh, Lexa tossed her clipboard on her tiny desk in the storage closet and plopped down in the squeaky chair, tipping it back with a wail. Her sister was the worst.
It was quiet in the shop, closed for just a handful of hours, Lexa always took a day to inventory and repair the damage of the week. She enjoyed the late evening work, when her workers were gone, and the shop was empty and full of dreams. No one knew how the cabinets stayed so clean, or how the scratches on table tops got sanded and fixed, or how the wobbly table by the window was miraculous cured one day, or how the ceiling fans got dusted, just that it all happened, and Lexa was off, meaning she didn’t come in until at least ten, the following morning.
But Lexa sat in the chair and let her brain do the same mental gymnastics it always seemed to do in the new quiet she found herself craving. She opened her laptop and ignored the awaiting spreadsheet, and instead opted to look over the answer Clarke had given her to the “Know your partner” quiz Clarke googled and made them both do. A mix of basic information and Newlywed Game style innuendos, Lexa filled hers out after a bottle of wine and anxiously waited for Clarke’s.
That was what started the daydreaming. She scrolled through Clarke’s answers and furrowed, doing her best to memorizing all that she could, as if she’d be tested on it all, as if it’d be impossible to believe she could be happy with someone like Clarke.
And when those thoughts started to seep into her brain, Lexa leaned back again and dug the tips of her fingers into her eyes.
In a week it’d be over.
And with that and a deep, heavy sigh, Lexa looked at the screen again and went about learning Clarke.
She started professionally, of course, looking at her corporate page and resume, because this was, if not anything, simply a business transaction and Lexa thought it was easier to parse a person if she didn’t actually have to fall for her.
A graphic designer at Anya’s firm, Clarke held accolades and a long list of references. The link to her work showed a wide range of commercial campaigns and a certain amount of talent evident by her list of upcoming projects. A graduate of a small, private, liberal arts university, her academics leaned heavily scientific, which was a surprise until Lexa read some of the answers in the survey about a degree in physics given up for art.
Lexa promised that she wouldn’t have looked at Clarke’s Instagram if Clarke hadn’t requested her first. She wasn’t someone who lurked, or at least she thought she wasn’t. She didn’t want to be someone who snuck around, digging through someone’s past, analyzing every filter and caption like a private investigator. But then Clarke appeared.
And there were pictures of Clarke with friends getting drinks on a rooftop. And then the one with her laughing and baking. Or the Christmas party where she was on a corporate Santa’s lap, smiling so wide her eyes were shut. Despite herself Lexa found herself smiling along with the girl in the pictures. The one who went hiking with a pack of dogs, and the one who seemed to always be eating something. The one who had a lot of friends and enjoyed making them smile and laugh. The girl who posted storie about her morning run, and the girl who seemed to have a healthy work life balance.
Lexa closed the webpages and stared at her inventory for exactly two seconds before curiosity won again and Lexa started looking at Costia’s account. There were the standard pictures of her pre-wedding planning. There was Costia working out. There was her new bride-to-be, happy and smiling at a gift for her birthday.
And then a throwback that made Lexa’s stomach drop as she stared at a familiar image of Costia smiling in a bikini on a beach. It was from the last trip they took. Lexa was the one behind the camera.
Three weeks after that picture was taken, Lexa walked in on Costia and a girl in the middle of the afternoon. Right in their own bed. Only to then discover it’d been going on for months. And it wasn’t the first. And then, Lexa didn’t remember much except that she moved into the apartment above her coffee shop and woke up one morning alone on sheets that weren’t familiar, in a room full of boxes.
It seemed even more difficult to start inventory after that shot to the gut.
But her phone went off, and Lexa leaned back in her chair after shutting the laptop again, wondering if that sinking feeling ever went away when it came to someone you love, or loved, or once loved, even for a moment. She didn’t have anything to compare it to, and she didn’t have any idea what love really was.
It felt like a deep wound was scratched open, the scab pulled back, and a burning numbness gnawing at the bottom of her spine. It felt like it would swallow her whole, and Lexa hated, more than anything, giving anyone the power to do anything as such over her.
Hey! Do you think this will go with your outfit?
An image came next, of Clarke in a dressing room wearing a very pretty dress, with very messy hair with her tongue sticking out. Lexa didn’t notice the gnawing feeling disappear.
We don’t have to match completely.
We do! Don’t you know how to date?
Not really.
Another picture of another dress came a moment later. Clarke was pretty. She was happy and silly and kind. It felt oddly normal, for as crazy as the whole scheme actually was.
I like that one, Lexa wrote, making sure to add a heart-eyed emoji to emphasize her point. Maybe that was flirting. Maybe she was allowed. She definitely needed more rules.
Good, I do too. It matches your tie, you know? And these heels will still leave you a little taller than me.
Sounds good to me!
Kind of excited. I guess I’ll see you at the airport tomorrow.
I’ll be the one at the bar.
I’ve heard it’s possible to find your soulmate at the airport. Something about the crossing of paths and time and space.
If my soulmate is a bottle of wine, then I reckon I might.
A love story for the ages.
Lexa smiled once more at her phone before tossing it to the side and letting her head drop to the desk. With a groan she growled into her hands and broke it down. She just needed to make it seventy-two hours. That was it. She could sleep for about twenty of those. She could drink for another twenty or more, if she really tried.
But this was it. This was the end.
And regardless of the weight of everything else, there was something satisfying about knowing it was almost over.
XXXXXXXXXX
The airport was absolutely teaming with bodies and people, weaving their way through the swelling crowds, loading and unloading the terminals at a constant, steady thumping rate, so regular one could set a watch to the heartbeat of the building.
Clarke adjusted her bag on her shoulder and tapped the ticket against her thigh as she moved through the security line. The nerves were coming for some reason. That was why she was at the airport three hours before the flight. She was anxious and needed a stiff drink and a few moments to catch her breath. She needed to escape the whirlwind she’d allowed herself to create.
Carefully, she made her way through the airport, checking the boards and finding her way to a seat in the empty waiting room. Not even an attendant waited at the kiosk.
Once again, she let herself awkwardly scroll on her phone, learning everything she could about her future date and weekend plans.
Lexa was nearly non-existent online. She didn’t have any pictures of herself. She rarely posted anything on her personal account, and when she did, it was just a book or a coffee or from a trip. She wasn’t one to enjoy being the center of attention, but when it came to her shop, she made sure to post almost daily, highlighting her employees and their recommendations, she made share to highlight events, she made sure to be as active as possible.
Anya had already warned Clarke that her sister was devoted to her work. She’d poured all of her effort into being successful and part of the community, and Clarke admired it, she just wished that there was more for her to see.
And so, once more, she flipped back to the long line of questions they’d filled out before giving up and gazing out the window at the planes coming and going.
For a moment, she allowed herself to think that she was doing something nice and good. It was an act of charity. It was the shake up Clarke needed and was selfishly trying to package as benevolent.
“You beat me, and I’m usually the first one here for a flight,” Lexa observed, walking up to Clarke, stealing her from her reverie.
“I like airports. Just waiting for true love to stroll up and introduce themselves.”
Lexa shoved her hands in her pockets, her bag balanced on her shoulder as she cautiously looked around, surveying the empty terminal slowly. Clarke watched her look around, smiled at the innocence of it. Enjoyed the way she ran her hand through her hair, mussing it up a bit and tossing it to another side.
“No one likes airports,” Lexa shook her head before taking the seat beside her.
“I do. They’re romantic.”
“Romantic?”
“You can get onto a plane, and a few hours later, you’re hundred of miles away, and it’s different weather, and it’s a different time zone. You can go to sleep in a different state. How can you not be romantic about that.”
“It’s a tin can filled with recycle air.”
“But there are peanuts.”
That did it. Lexa cracked a smile to herself and relaxed a little.
“I was going to be the first one here. Surprise you with coffee, but you beat me to it.”
“You are quite a good girlfriend. Someone clearly trained you well.”
Lexa shook her head, somewhat bashful, somewhat reserved. There was always something right there, just below the surface, obfuscated by a kind of resolve to never give anything away, not at any price. Clarke read it between words in their texts and emails, a glaring finality in the simple pixel of a period.
“Can I get you a coffee? Two creams, two sugar right?”
“You don’t have to--”
“It’s early and I’m trying to be charming. Allow me to somewhat repay you for this whole endeavour.”
“Sounds good. Thanks, darling.”
With the term of endearment, Lexa nodded, grinning into her chest as she stood and made her way across the terminal in search of sustenance. Clarke watched her take out her phone, texting her sister no doubt.
Once more, Clarke resumed the digging on her own, scrolling on her own phone at old pictures on Lexa’s profile. She was ready for fun, and she was ready to crack at that facade.
“I don’t know if this will help,” Lexa sighed as she sat down. “I didn’t sleep a wink last night.”
“Oh this won’t be good for me either,” Clarke said as she took a sip. “I’m a fairly nervous flyer.”
“And yet you let me get us both coffee.”
“You made a good point, and I’m prepared to be paid back all weekend.”
With another grin, Lexa leaned back, her arm going on the back of the chair that Clarke inhabited, naturally, with ease, with a level of comfort.
“Are you ready to tell me the story?”
“Which one is that?” Clarke turned to look at her date, returned from an absent moment.
“How we met.”
“How we met,” she nodded, her smile bordering on mischievous. “That’s simple. Don’t you remember? It was a very blustery Tuesday, and I was trying to escape the wind and rain. I almost tripped coming into your coffee shop, but you happened to be sweeping, and were kind enough to catch me.”
“You’re severely overestimating my reflexes.”
“Fine. I ran you over and we both ended up on our asses in the middle of the coffee shop. Coffee everywhere.”
“Sounds pretty likely.”
“And I knew right there, I was hooked. Those eyes, all angry and annoyed at me for not looking where I was going, despite my persistent defense that I’d been assaulted by the weather.”
“Why do I have to be the angry one?”
“Wouldn’t you be though?” Clarke returned, daring her to be contradicted.
“Maybe,” Lexa agreed over the lid of her cup, fretting with it nervously.
“So I crashed into you, and you bought be a coffee. I turned up every day after that until I finally asked you out. You took longer than I would have liked to answer me, but I accepted it anyway, and we’ve been madly in love ever since.”
“And when was this?”
“About eight months ago.”
“How’s it going so far?”
“Splendidly. I’ve already met your sister, who it happens that I work with, which is super convenient for everyone.”
Quietly, Lexa sat there, going over the story, going over all of the past eight months of apparent bliss in her head. Clarke watched her furrow before softening, her eyes not seeing, but rather looking through the window as a plane took off and another landed. The softening of her features was soon met with a perplexion, a slight, gentle contortion of the brow and the lips, a tightening as a kind of confusion overtook the ease of the entire story.
“Is it that easy?” Lexa asked quietly, turning her head toward her date. Clarke cocked her head, waiting for more. “Is all of it… just… a wind? Waiting for someone to just ask you out? Is it that easy? Does that happen to people?”
“It can. How does anything happen in the world? It just… does. The universe is just a series of things happening, all of the time, right?”
“But is it that easy?”
To her credit, Clarke thought about it. She flexed her jaw and took a deep breath before slowing letting it go as she wondered if it really was.
“I don’t know. Maybe it can be.”
“How?”
“I guess there has to be a balance to making things happen and letting things happen.”
“I don’t know if I’m good at either of those things,” Lexa confessed. She sat up straighter a moment later, afraid of her honesty, and surprised more by how easily it came out.
“I think you can be.”
“That’s probably too kind.”
“We’ll see.”
Clarke rubbed Lexa’s shoulder, rubbed the middle of her back between her shoulder blades until she reached the collar of her shirt, where she massaged her neck. She tensed before relaxing, and Clarke didn’t stop, just rubbed there gently, slowly until she knew it was enough and she trailed her palm back toward the seat.
It was right there, they just didn’t know it.

Clarke vs. The Hot Customer
Meanwhile in DC, CIA Agent Lexa Woods and NSA Agent Anya Forrest sit across the desk with Homeland Security General Indra Beckman.
Beckman starts, “Last night at 18:00, CIA operative Costia Daniels was killed in action. Before her death, she sent the entire Intersect Project to a civilian, a top-secret mission known only among those with the highest clearance in the CIA. The project consisted of every CIA mission and intel since the CIA’s founding in 1947. All contained in a supercomputer. The goal was for the intel to be downloaded into the human brain. While it has yet to be tested, it would give the agency’s top agents every piece of information necessary to complete their missions, without having to read every file, look through every photo, and analyze every document. This project is now in the inbox of one Clarke Griffin. As I’m sure you can guess, this is not ideal. The recipient’s unsecured g-mail means that every terrorist and their mother can track who it went to. And they will go after them without hesitation in order to get their hands on our intelligence.”
“Why did she send it to a civilian instead of a CIA contact?” Anya asks.
“We don’t know. As far as we can tell, she’s just some random college dropout. She works at a Buy-More. Your job is to find Clarke Griffin, find out what she knows, and download the e-mail yourselves so our nation’s secrets are not floating around in the head of some idiot civilian.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clarke wakes up on her bedroom floor to the blaring alarm on her nightstand. She’s groggy, and doesn’t quite remember why she apparently passed out on the floor instead of changing into pajamas and climbing into her bed.
Slowly, the memories of last night trickle in. She remembers a hot pocket, going to her room to play video games, and… an e-mail from Costia? That can’t be right. They haven’t spoken in years… But she distinctly remembers getting an e-mail from her, then a bunch of weird pictures, and that’s it.
She goes over to her computer to try and reread the email, but the thing won’t turn on. It seems to be fried from the inside. “Great, so not only did Costia ruin my life, she sent me a computer virus that destroyed my computer?” Clarke wonders.
Clarke’s still a little woozy from the unending strobe light of incomprehensible images her brain was exposed to the night before, so she skips breakfast, and thanks her past self for not even changing out of her work clothes so she can just walk right out the door and head to the Buy-More.
Raven is sitting at the Nerd Herd help desk waiting for her.
“You never logged on to LoL last night,” Raven complains. “Yeah, I got a weird e-mail from Costia and it torpedoed my computer.”
“I’m sorry what? Costia? Costia Daniels? The one that ruined your life and got you stuck working at a Buy-More with me?”
“The one and only.”
“What did she want?”
“I don’t know. It was a weird e-mail. It spazzed through a bunch of images and then fried my hard drive.”
“What a bitch.” “Yup.”
It’s a slow day at the Buy-More so Raven and Clarke spend most of the day chit chatting about nothing, planning their next video game all-nighter, and talking about starting their own electronics company to beat out the Buy-More. It’s an idea they’ve talked about for years, but is nothing more than a pipe dream. Neither of them have the capital to get that thing off the ground. No matter how many engineering degrees Raven collects. Eventually they fall into a game of “Guess what that customer is thinking.”
“I am going to hoard this for when the nuclear apocalypse hits us and toilet paper is scarce,” Raven says about the guy with 100 rolls of toilet paper and nothing else in his cart.
“I need a copy of Die Hard for every TV in my house,” Clarke gruffs about the old many with 8 copies of Die Hard in his basket.
The two are so enthralled in their game that they hardly notice a customer approach the help desk.
In a high-pitched valley girl voice, Clarke says, “I’m getting this video camera so I can finally make a sex tape with my boyfriend!” Raven laughs way harder than Clarke thinks the joke earned, but then the customer clears her throat and Clarke whirls around. The customer raises her eyebrows in surprise.
“Um… I… did you? That wasn’t… Hi, welcome to the Nerd Herd. How can I help you?”
Clarke chokes on her tongue a little when she realizes just how beautiful the customer is. She’s wearing tight fitting jeans, a tank top, and an unbuttoned flannel over her shirt. Clarke’s gaydar lightly pings in the back of her mind. Her hair is a mane of curly brown locks. She has a pair of sunglasses perched on the top of her head, and the greenest eyes Clarke has ever seen. When her gaze flicks back up to make eye contact, there’s something… intense about the way this girl looks at her.
“I’ve been having phone troubles. It doesn’t seem to be receiving calls.”
“Can I have a name for the intake form?”
“Lexa.”
“Well Lexa, I’ll see what I can do.”
Clarke fiddles around with the phone, looking for external damage or immediately obvious reasons for malfunction. When she finds nothing evident, she tells Lexa, “It must be something internal, I’ll take it to the back and see what’s going on. Come back in about an hour, and it should be all set.”
“That sounds perfect. Thank you…” Lexa pauses waiting for a name
“Clarke.”
“Thank you, Clarke. I’ll see you in an hour.”
As Lexa turns to walk away, Clarke stares at her ass and says a quiet, “Bye Lexa.”
“HEY CLARKE! You telling this customer goodbye or are you announcing that you’re bi?” Raven says a little too loudly for it to not be intentional.
Lexa turns to flash a smile at Clarke, and Clarke turns to Raven and says, “Reyes, I will kill you in your sleep.”
An hour spent tinkering in the repair shop, and the phone is back to fully functional. Clarke waits at the help desk for Lexa to return. This time she ensures that she’s not mid-game so she doesn’t embarrass herself a second time in front of this customer. She most certainly notices when Lexa walks into the store. This time, the flannel is tied around her waist and Clarke stares at the tattoo curling around her bicep. Then she stares at the biceps themselves and considers tracing the lines with her tongue. Scolding herself for being just as big of a perv as fellow Nerd Herders Jasper and Monty, she smiles and pointedly does not stray from making eye contact. Lexa is less successful as she sneaks a peek down Clarke’s shirt that may have one or two fewer buttons done up this time around.
“What’s the verdict doc?” Lexa asks, leaning into Clarke’s space at the counter.
“All fixed,” Clarke smiles.
“How do I know it works?”
Clarke grins, “Aha, watch this.”
She digs her own phone out of her pocket and dials a number. She waits a few seconds until the phone in Lexa’s hand starts to vibrate and “NERD HERD HOTTIE” pops up on the screen.
“See? Good as new”
“Thank you, Clarke. I really appreciate it,” Lexa says, and turns to leave the store. Clarke’s bubble of hope pops as she watches her walk away. But then, after a few steps, Lexa picks up her phone, scrolls through a screen and lifts the phone to her ear.
A few feet behind her, Clarke’s phone buzzes on the counter. She answers.
“Do you want to get dinner tonight?” Lexa asks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They agree to meet at Grounders at 7:00. Lexa arrives 15 minutes early and waits at the entrance. She’s wearing a green button up, tight grey pants, and her hair is done up in a neat braid. She has a stun gun tucked into her jacket, a knife hidden in each boot, and a blade laced within the braid. But this is supposed to look like a first date, not a mission, so she tries to make herself look nervous by shifting her weight from one leg to the other, and gets ready to flirt some information out of her mark.
Clarke steps out of an Uber at 7:06 wearing a light blue sundress that makes her look even more like a ray of sunshine. It’s a stark contrast from the unisex Nerd Herd uniform, and Lexa can’t help but give her a once over. Twice maybe thrice if she’s being completely honest. “I thought you might have changed your mind,” Lexa confesses, looking at her watch.
“Of course not! Just bad LA traffic,” Clarke replies and leads them into the restaurant.
Conversation is easy. They make each other laugh. The waitress comes over three times in 45 minutes before either of them have even glanced at the menu. Lexa assures the waitress that they do, in fact, know how to read, and a few minutes later they actually order their food. Neither can stop themselves from long looks and bashful smiles. Clarke learns that Lexa just moved to town and is still looking for the right fit job. They talk about their childhoods and interests. Eventually, they stumble on the topic of whether or not it’s weird that Lexa asked out her phone repair woman. Clarke immediately reddens at the memory of the first words Lexa heard her say. Clarke apologizes for her having to overhear the game she plays with Raven at the Buy-More.
“Speaking of which, how does a girl as beautiful and smart as you end up working for the Nerd Herd?” Lexa asks incredulously.
“That’s kind of a long story. The spark notes version is that I am one semester shy of a computer science degree at Stanford. My senior year, my former best friend and roommate Costia framed me for cheating and got me kicked out of school. No explanation. Since then I haven’t really had the drive to finish the degree. Or trust anyone. I’ve really just been surviving ever since. No sense in living when everything you loved is gone, right? Sorry, that was probably a little heavy for a first date…”
“No, no, it’s fine,” Lexa assures. The name Costia did not go unnoticed, so Lexa presses on, “What ever happened to that Costia girl?”
“The funny thing is I haven’t really thought about her in a few years, but the last two days it’s been at nagging in my mind. I actually got an e-mail from her yesterday, but all it contained was a virus that fried my computer,” Clarke shrugs.
The waiter interrupts to fill their wine glasses, and Lexa’s opportunity to press more about this e-mail vanishes as Clarke switches the subject completely, and they fall back into easy conversation, longing and somewhat thirsty looks, and grinning at each other.
Lexa pays their check while Clarke runs to the bathroom, and they have decided that 3 hours taking up this restaurant’s table is probably long enough. Yes, it’s a mission, but Lexa is genuinely enjoying talking to this girl. She’s sweet and funny, and looks damn good in that dress.
“Can I drive you home?” Lexa asks.
The drive is a comfortable silence. Lexa’s hand rests on Clarke’s knee and mindlessly draws patterns on her thigh until Clarke intertwines their fingers. The drive ends too quickly as they pull up to the complex where Clarke lives.
Lexa walks Clarke to her door. Clarke’s walk slows to a crawl, trying to prolong her time with Lexa as much as possible. But the trip from the car to the stoop is only so long, so she settles for pretending to struggle to find her keys. God she wants to kiss her. She wants to kiss her so badly she hasn’t listened to a word Lexa has said because she can’t think about anything else. Lexa pauses in front of the door, and shuffles a bit closer to Clarke.
“Goodnight, Clarke”, she says as she leans in. Clarke closes her eyes in anticipation, and then feels Lexa’s lips land just left of the mark. Lexa places a chaste kiss on the corner of Clarke’s mouth, then turns to walk away. She turns back with a wink and a wave as Clarke unlocks her front door, and melts to a puddle once she’s crossed the threshold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lexa paces outside the front of the Buy-More while on the phone with the General. “Beckman, she’s just a normal girl. She hasn’t done anything wrong. I don’t even think the e-mail made it to her. She said she hasn’t heard from Costia since college!” “Agent Woods, Daniels was one of our top agents. There must be a reason she sent it to her. Now, go find out if she’s just a really good liar, or if she’s actually as innocent as you seem to think.” She hangs up without a greeting or dismissal.
Lexa tries to shake off the conversation, and walks through the Buy-More doors to go find Clarke, who at the moment is helping someone pick out a blender. Lexa pretends to be interested in a video camera and presses random buttons while waiting for Clarke to be free.
“Looking at cameras for our sex tape?” Clarke asks with a cheeky grin.
Lexa rolls her eyes and replies, “No, I was just in the neighborhood and wanted to say hi. I had fun last night.”
Clarke lights up with a goofy grin and thinks about how she didn’t kiss her last night. Clarke eyes her lips, and catches Lexa doing the same. She does a quick scan of the floor, hoping to confirm that no manager is there to catch her making out with a girl while on the clock. She’s made it almost a full 360 when it happens.
She sees a man standing in the DVD section. He doesn’t look that much different than a normal customer, but once she sees the scar on his neck, images flash before her eyes. The scar. The man’s name, and seven different aliases. A Russian Prison manifest. A rank within Russian Intelligence operations. They flash before her eyes in rapid succession, pulling the information to the forefront of her brain, and making her a little dizzy with the completely unconscious recall of information she doesn’t remember learning in the first place. The images stop and her eyes refocus
“Lexa, this is going to sound crazy, but that man in the DVDs section is a Russian spy and he
is armed to kill. Don’t ask me how I know that, I just do.”
Clarke watches Lexa’s eyes widen in alarm. “Holy shit, you downloaded it.”
“What?”
“The Intersect.” “The what?” “I have to get you out of here.”
Lexa grabs Clarke’s hand and pulls her towards the back of the store.
“Lexa, what is going on.” She doesn’t answer. Instead she goes into the breakroom, punches a series of numbers into the vending machine, and watches the machine slide to the right to reveal a passageway. Lexa pulls Clarke through, ignoring her questions and utter shock at what is going on. Clarke is led down some stairs into a conference room with screens taking up a full wall, a wall full of weapons, and a video conference call happening at the table in the center. An angry looking Asian woman sits at the table talking to the screen with a black woman with more medals on her military coat than Clarke knew existed.
Lexa interrupts their conversation with, “She’s the Intersect.”
“She what?”
“She’s the Intersect. She downloaded it. She just recognized a Russian operative upstairs.”
The other women in the room and on the screen look shocked and horrified.
“So it works?” the woman on the screen asks. “WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON. WHERE AM I? WHAT IS THE INTERSECT? WHY IS THERE A SECRET BASE IN THE BUY-MORE? WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?” Clarke yells, finally getting Lexa’s attention.
Lexa starts, “My name is Lexa Woods. I work for the CIA.”
“Anya Forrest, Colonel in the NSA.”
“And I’m General Indra Beckman, head of Homeland Security”
Clarke begins to laugh hysterically. “Did Raven put you up to this? She always goes WAY TOO BIG or way too small for pranks. Jeezus how much did she spend on this?!” She wanders the base touching weapons, poking screens, and searching for a hidden camera.
“This isn’t a joke, Miss Griffin,” Beckman interrupts.
The tone sobers Clarke immediately.
Beckman continues, “Three days ago, CIA operative Costia Daniels sent you an email. That email contained every secret the CIA has in what was called the Intersect Project. That information is now in your head. Until a new Intersect can be built, the CIA and NSA’s number one priority will be protecting you.”
“I’m sorry, what now?” Clarke asks.
“You will assist in missions as needed.”
Clarke is, again, much too stunned to grasp anything that was just said. Instead, she asks every question that has run through her mind since she thought she was about to kiss Lexa at work to the current moment. Costia was CIA? Why did she send it to me? How does it work? Can I get it removed? You’re sure this isn’t an over the top prank? Costia is dead?
Lexa, Anya, and Beckman patiently answer every question Clarke has. For the most part, they are very understanding of the barrage of questions. The questions continue for about thirty minutes, but eventually die down. This is real. Clarke will be working with the CIA. Other countries will try to find the Intersect, so she is in danger. She is now their most important asset, and they will protect her at all costs. She doesn’t really have a choice in this.
“I didn’t ask for this,” Clarke states. “We know, but your country is calling,” Beckman answers.
General Beckman hangs up the call, Anya goes back to cleaning an enormous gun, Lexa starts to organize files, and Clarke… Clarke sits at the table staring at her hands. Deep in thought, and too stunned to form coherent thoughts. After ten minutes, she takes a deep breath and addresses Lexa.
“So that date then?”
Lexa reads the implied question and answers, “Was part of my mission to find out what you knew.”
“Ah.”
“Clarke.”
“I don’t know why I thought it was anything else. No one that model hot dates a girl from the Nerd Herd. Is that like a requirement for spy work?”
Lexa cocks her head like a confused puppy.
Clarke glances between Anya and Lexa, and waggles her fingers between the two of them. “You know, the mind-blowing hotness? I mean, it works. Girl that looks like you asks me to jump off the roof and I’d probably do it without asking any follow up questions. Of course it was all fake. You’re probably straight. Really deluded myself into this one. Big yikes.”
Anya looks up from the barrel of her gun and chuffs, “Definitely not straight”
Lexa blushes but doesn’t disagree with Anya. Instead she addresses Clarke directly. “You do realize that we will need to continue dating, right?”
Clarke continues rambling to herself about being an idiot for thinking a girl like Lexa was into her, but then the content of Lexa’s question sinks in. Her brain jolts like a record scratch. “Huh?”
“It’s the perfect cover for why I’m suddenly in your life and may suddenly vanish from it. I can keep a close eye on you when you’re not at work, and it won’t seem suspicious if I stay over. During the day, Anya will work at the Buy More with you.”
Clarke still hasn’t wrapped her head around “continue dating” so instead asks, “I’m dead, right? That Russian operative in DVDs killed me and I’m bleeding out on the Buy-More floor, right? Because there is no way the US government just asked me to fake date a bombshell agent for the safety of our country.”
Anya finishes reassembling her gun, looks up at the newly christened fake couple, and says, “Believe it, babe.”

Falling in Love in a Quarantine: Part 6
OP | Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
—
PART 6: Day 13
It had become a routine, now that Clarke was back on a strict dayshift schedule—both women woke up at the same time, Lexa would go for a run while Clarke would take a class on her spin bike, and after their respective showers, Clarke would join Lexa in the kitchen. They’d catch up about their morning workouts, talk about the shows or movies they had each watched in bed the night before, all while Clarke watched Lexa make some sort of extravagant breakfast for them before Clarke would have to leave for her shift at the hospital.
This particular morning, the smell of something baking and another smell of something insanely savory and likely artery-clogging caused Clarke’s stomach to grumble. The aroma was enough for her to pounce on the plate as soon as Lexa put it down.
“Okay, what’s all this?” Clarke’s hungry eyes scanned the plate.
Lexa laughed, taking the seat across the blonde, “Well you said the other night you were craving biscuits and gravy but I put a little spin on it. It’s a ham and cheddar scone with bacon gravy. Got creative with the leftovers we had from earlier this week.”
“How do you make cooking look so easy?” Clarke asked, her mouth full of flakey-scone goodness, not caring that her manners disappeared as soon as the food hit her palate. “This is insane.”
“It is easy,” Lexa shrugged. “I’m glad you like it.”
“God,” Clarke said after swallowing another mouthful—she wasn’t even sure if she had thoroughly chewed the bites in her mouth. “Can I keep you here forever?”
Lexa raised a brow at the statement, “If you’d like?”
Especially after her recent conversation with Raven, though Lexa was (hopefully) completely unaware of Clarke’s recent realization, the blonde couldn’t help but feel sheepish after the question came out of her mouth. “I mean, this is the best I’ve eaten in my whole life. And it doesn’t hurt that you’re not awful company.”
“Always had a way with words, Griff,” Lexa offered. “I must say, I do enjoy being here. It’s almost been two weeks and we haven’t annoyed the hell out of each other yet.”
“I don’t think that’s possible,” Clarke laughed. “I think we’ve known each other too long and know too much about each other’s personalities to let something like that happen.”
“So there’s nothing about my existence here that you’d change?” Lexa raised a brow with her question.
Clarke wasn’t sure if her friend was trying to get to a certain point with what she was asking, “Not a thing. Would you change anything about how I’ve been?”
“Clarke,” Lexa smiled. “I wouldn’t change anything about you or the way you do anything in a million years. That’s why I… that’s why you’re you.”
Clarke smiled and nodded, before turning back to her breakfast. The two ate in a comfortable silence. But what Clarke didn’t understand is why her friend—her best friend—felt the need to stop herself from saying something the pair used to throw around all the time. It wasn’t until that moment that she realized she couldn’t remember the last time the pair had exchanged “I love you’s” with each other. It had been a saying that ended every phone call, something they would exchange every time they parted ways—and sure, it started back when they were drunk college kids, but they were, in fact, best friends. And they did, in fact, love each other, so why did Lexa stop herself from saying it a mere few minutes ago?
“Clarke,” Lexa’s voice snapped the blonde out of her daze. “You’re going to be late if you don’t leave soon. I put some leftovers last night in a bag for you in the fridge to eat later.”
“Oh, right,” Clarke set her fork down and started to gather her things to start her trek to the hospital. “Sorry, I was out of it for a second.”
Lexa raised a brow, “Everything okay?”
“Mhm,” the blonde nodded. “Everything’s good. I’ll see you tonight?”
“I’ll be here.” Lexa grinned before adding, “Where I’ve been for the last thirteen days.”
Clarke smiled, “Good.”
---
“Well, well, well, look who finally picked up my FaceTime,” Anya smirked onto the screen.
Lexa raised a brow, “You literally haven’t tried to FaceTime me this whole time, Ahn. Don’t be dramatic.”
“I know,” her friend laughed. “Figured it would be a good intro, though. Anyway, how the hell are you? Week going well?”
“Yeah,” Lexa smiled. “Week’s been good. Work hasn’t been too crazy so nothing to be totally stressed about. Been cooking a lot, which you know I love. And Clarke and I have started a few shows that we’re both loving so all is well over here.”
“What shows?” Anya asked.
“I don’t know,” Lexa shrugged. “Hollywood. Little Fires Everywhere. The Stranger. Good mix of everything, I guess. We have a good cadence going on, trying not to binge anything too quickly so we don’t run out of the good shit.”
“Nice,” Anya nodded. “So things are all merry at Casa Griffin?”
Lexa offered a soft smile, “Yeah, things couldn’t be better. How’s it going with Raven?”
“Pretty well, but seems like you and Griff have it all figured out. Maybe we can learn a thing or two from you guys,” Anya wiggled her brows at her friend.
“Ha,” Lexa started. “It’s just easy for us to fall into a schedule together. Morning workout routine, breakfast together before she heads to the hospital, dinner when she gets home, and wine and Netflix at night. It’s a pretty simple formula.”
“A domestic formula,” Anya added. “You guys sound like an old married couple.”
“That’s not the first time you’ve said that,” Lexa pointed out. “Remember during the hurricane forever ago when Clarke and I stayed at her mom’s? I seem to remember you making similar comments.”
“The hurricane in which you opted to stay with your best friend and her mom instead of your girlfriend and her mom?” Anya laughed. “It’s hard to forget that. Remember the fight you and Costia got in because of that?”
“In my defense,” Lexa raised her chin. “Cos’ mom hated me and Abbey loves me. It was a no brainer.”
“Dude, you ditched your girlfriend to be holed up with Griff,” Anya laughed again. “As smart as you are, kid, you can be pretty dense.”
“Whatever,” Lexa muttered. “Did you call to make fun of me or was there something else?”
“Just wanted to check in, seems like you’ve been so busy with Griff that you forgot the rest of us existed,” Anya said. “Are you guys joining the Zoom happy hour later or are you going to be too busy wining and dining your live-in girlfriend when she gets home from the hospital?”
“Anya,” Lexa’s tone started to show frustration. “I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to get at. Care to stop dancing around the lines and spit it out?”
“Fine,” Anya cocked her head to the side. “Are you boning Griff?”
“What the fuck, Anya. No.”
“Well,” Anya started. “Do you want to? Because you’re getting pretty good at playing house with her.”
“We’re literally in a fucking quarantine, Anya,” Lexa snapped. “What else am I supposed to fucking do? I can’t leave the house, so yeah, I’m going to take care of things around here for Clarke while shes risking her fucking life everyday at the hospital taking care of everyone that’s clinging on to life.”
“You’re getting awfully testy,” Anya quipped. “I can drop it.”
“I’d appreciate it if you did,” Lexa said, starting to calm down. “She’s my best friend, you know that.”
“And as your other best friend,” Anya started. “And this will be the last time I bring it up, but as your other best friend, I don’t think it would be such a bad idea to explore.”
Lexa didn’t necessarily submit to her friend’s badgering, but she wanted to get a deeper understanding of where this was all coming from, “Why exactly are you bringing this up?”
“Because like I said,” Anya responded. “I don’t think it would be such a bad idea to explore.”
“Okay, well I need to take Sandy out,” Lexa, confused as ever from what Anya was suggesting, responded, trying to find a way to end the call. “I’ll catch you later for the happy hour. Tell Raven I said hi.”
“Yeah,” Anya nodded. “Sounds good. Talk later.”
---
“So how’d it go?” Raven approached her girlfriend from behind as Anya hung up the FaceTime with Lexa, craning her neck to place a soft kiss on her cheek.
“Operation Clexa is in progress,” Anya smirked.

Chapter 10: The City of Light
When Clarke opens her eyes again, she's not on the balcony of Lexa's room anymore. She's standing in the middle of a narrow road, closed on each side by a series of houses. They're all one or two-storey houses with flat roofs, just like the ones in Polis. She smiles to herself when she remembers the night Lexa told her about her childhood adventures, when as a young Natblida in training she would have to run and jump from one roof to another along the streets of the capital. She can imagine Lexa doing the same now on these roofs.
Clarke's brought out of her thoughts by the sound of footsteps coming from behind. Her heart skips a bit, because she would recognize that sound of boots against concrete anywhere. It's crazy when you think about it, but when you love someone, a family member, a friend, a lover, you pay attention to all the small things such as the sound of their steps on an unsurfaced road. That’s how you learn to feel their presence even before seeing them. And that's why Clarke can't breathe anymore, why she doesn't move, too afraid it will bring an end to this amazing dream. But most of all, that's why she doesn't need to turn or hear her voice to know the hand that's come to rest gently on her shoulder is hers. She knows, but she still can't believe Jaha's chip actually works, so she asks anyway.
"Lexa?" Her voice cracks as her eyes fill with tears.
The hand on her shoulder moves down to intertwine its fingers with Clarke's as another hand does the same on the other side. Clarke's body tenses as she tries to hold back the sobs that threaten to come out and wreck her. She feels her arm being moved so that their right hands come to rest on her heart, and their left ones lay on her belly.
"I'm here." Lexa finally speaks before tightening her hold on Clarke until their bodies are pressed against one another.
Clarke shakes slightly, but she's still refusing to let go. Lexa, of course, can feel it, and so she whispers in her ear: "I've got you." You can let go now, Clarke. You can break down, because I'm here to hug and kiss all of your pieces back together. That's all Lexa tries to convey in just those four words, and Clarke understands it all.
When Clarke finally lets out the broken sob she's been holding, Lexa brings her even deeper into her as if to prove her words. And with that Clarke breaks down for good, sinking on her knees as her body wrecks with her loud sobs. Lexa never loses her hold on her, she just goes down with Clarke, kneeling behind her, and holding her tightly. She doesn't try to shush her or whisper sweet nothings into her ear to calm her down, because she knows Clarke needs to let it all out, and to break down completely in order to start over, and live again.
They stay like that for what feels like hours, and when Clarke finally stops sobbing and shaking, Lexa gives her a long kiss on the crown of her head. It's not enough to put her back together, but it's a first step to give her back some of her lost strength. Lexa feels her girlfriend take a deep breath, and she knows Clarke is going to say something soon, so she moves her head down to rest her chin on her shoulder as if to let her know she's listening, whenever she's ready to talk.
"You never came back to me." Clarke’s voice wavers slightly despite her efforts to keep it stable. She doesn't move her gaze on Lexa yet, she just stares down at their joined hands.
"I know." The former Heda does not apologize. It's not her fault someone killed her, Clarke would never blame her for not coming back, she was just stating a fact.
"I killed her. Nia. She had me pinned to the ground, and for a moment I thought I wasn't gonna make it, but then I remembered what you taught me in our training sessions, and I was able to free myself and kill her." Clarke's voice is just a little above a whisper, but Lexa hears it loud and clear.
Lexa is shocked by her words, but she doesn't say anything. She just leans back to look at the side of Clarke’s face, waiting for her next move. The Sky girl strokes her thumb on the back of one of Lexa’s hands, in order to gather the courage to raise her head, tilting it to the side to finally meet the eyes of the girl she loves. Clarke’s eyes water again at the sight of Lexa's beautiful green orbs staring back at her, so full of life. Slowly, she brings her hand up to cup Lexa’s cheek, like she still needs some proof that this is real, that she is really there.
"That's what I was going to tell you once you came back from battle." Clarke gives her girlfriend a soft smile. "I wanted you to be proud of me. And to know that I can finally fight like you. Well, not like you you, but... like a true grounder. With swords, knives, and all. I wanted you to know that the Ice Queen was not gonna hurt you anymore, because she's dead. Because I killed her. For Costia. For you."
"I..." Lexa is at a loss of words, because of the turmoil of emotions she feels right now.
She wants to scream her anger at whoever killed her for not letting her have the reunion Clarke had planned for her. She wants to be mad at Clarke for facing Nia on her own, putting her life at risk in the process. She wants to cry in relief because the Ice Queen won't be able to hurt Clarke anymore. She wants to thank Clarke for avenging Costia when she couldn't do it herself, and she wants her to know that she's always been proud of her. But instead of trying with words, she leans in to kiss Clarke, hoping this simple gesture is capable of conveying all of the things she's feeling in the moment. Like it's always been for the two of them, they don't need to say anything for the other to understand the message. They kiss until their lungs burn for the lack of oxygen, and then they part but still leaning their foreheads against one another.
"Lexa?" Clarke calls gently after a while, causing the woman to open her eyes, and look at her.
"Mmh?" Lexa hums in question.
"I can't feel my knees." That causes Lexa to laugh lightly, and God, was it worthy to break that serious moment. Clarke hadn't realized how much she's missed the sound of her laugh.
Lexa shakes her head in amusement as the blonde grins back at her, and then, she gets up pulling Clarke up with her in the process. When they're in a standing position in front of each other, they simultaneously move forward to close the gap between them to hold each other properly this time.
"I missed you so much." Clarke says in the crook of Lexa's neck. "I don't ever want to leave you."
"You can't stay here forever, Clarke." Lexa’s tone is sad, and she holds Clarke a little bit tighter when she says the words. She knows her girlfriend has to go back to the real world, but she also doesn't want her to leave.
"Then I'll keep coming back." That's a promise Clarke intends to keep.
Lexa smiles, happy to know this won't be the last time she sees her girlfriend.
"How did you get here anyway?" She asks with a curious tone. To be honest, she has no idea what that place is supposed to be. And most of all, she doesn’t understand how dead people can be very much alive in here, nor how living people can come and go.
"One of my people gave me a sort of 'key' to this virtual reality. He told me there was no death here." Well, that explains some of it, Lexa thinks.
She's brought back from her thoughts when Clarke starts talking again. "I didn’t wanna believe him because... I didn’t wanna get my hopes up about seeing you again, just to find out that he was lying. I almost threw that chip away, but… I couldn’t find it in me to get rid of it. I never thought I’d take it, but then…" Her voice cracks when she thinks about the reason why she's standing here right now. "I got to the point where I could hardly survive without you. I need you in my life, Lexa." She cries.
"Hey, ssh, I'm here." Lexa moves to cup Clarke's cheeks in her hands, before leaning in to plant a soft kiss on her forehead. "I'm here." She breathes on Clarke's skin.
They stay like that for a while, until Clarke’s tears stop falling. Then Lexa tries to lighten up the mood, because she can't stand to see the girl she loves suffer so much.
"I'm not going anywhere, Clarke. Literally." She jokes.
"Oh, shut up. This isn't funny, Lexa." Clarke tries to suppress it, but a light chuckle still leaves her lips, and it is music to her girlfriend's ears. Lexa grins at her making Clarke shake her head at how proud she seems for getting her to laugh a little.
"So... You wanna come see my house?" Lexa offers as she holds out a hand for her girlfriend to take.
"You have a house?" Clarke asks in surprise.
"Sort of. There are no properties in the City of Light. If you want something, you just have to make it yours." She explains as they start to walk down the road.
"So, you broke into the house."
"Of course not! No one lived there... it was just waiting for someone to pick it up."
"If you say so…" Clarke isn't actually judging Lexa's choice, it's just that she enjoys messing with her. But unfortunately, her girlfriend is too smart to fall for it.
"Just wait to see it. You're gonna love it." Lexa says, and as she was hoping, it is enough to get Clarke's attention.
They walk in silence for a good five minutes. Lexa is giving Clarke the chance to take everything in. When, at last, she comes to a stop in front of a large metal gate, Clarke turns to look at her questioningly.
"That's it?!" She waits for Lexa's confirming nod before adding: "Wow… That's one big house."
From the gate she can see a small path leading to the front door of the large house, and a yard surrounding the whole building. She's never seen a place that big. Her whole life she's lived in a small room on the Ark, or in a tent, or in a room of the tower in Polis.
"And you have yet to see the best part. Come on!" Lexa smiles at Clarke as she gestures for her to walk through the gate she’s just pushed open. And with that, they walk together towards the front door.
Once inside, Clarke notices that this house looks very different from the one she’s seen so far. It's definitely nothing like the buildings in Polis. It looks exactly like the large houses that she's seen in pictures and videos from before the apocalypse. Right by the entrance there's a big room that is both a kitchen and a dining room. There's a long corner counter against the walls on the left of the front door, and a very long wooden table in the middle of the room. There are eight chairs around it, but Clarke is sure it could host many more people. A wall and a door separate this room from the next one, which is an enormous living room. Coming from the entrance, you meet in front of you a large glass wall that shows the beautiful yard just outside, that can be reached by two large glass doors. There's a bookcase that covers the whole left wall of the room, and which is so full of books it seems impossible none of them falls off. A big rectangular carpet is laid on the floor in the middle of the room, and two long couches are placed along the door side of the carpet and the right wall side of the carpet. A square wooden table with a few books on it is placed on the center of the carpet. On the right wall there's a big tapestry, and that's about it for the furniture of this room. It's a very big living room, but it's also rather empty.
"Come. I'll show you the other rooms." Lexa takes Clarke by the hand to lead her back to the first room.
Somehow Clarke has missed it before, but to the right of the entrance, opposite to the kitchen, there's a flight of stairs that leads to the second floor. Here, there are a main bedroom, and three smaller guest rooms, plus two bathrooms. The same stairs also lead to a mansard. It's a small room that looks like a mini version of the living room, but, instead of opening onto the yard, its glass doors open onto the rest of the roof. Clarke can only imagine how beautiful it must be out there by night, when the sky is full of stars.
"Remember that time we sat on the balcony of the throne room to gaze at the stars?" Lexa asks softly, and when Clarke hums in affirmation she continues: "Ever since I got here, I spent every night on this roof pretending you were by my side, stargazing with me."
"Maybe we can do it tonight. And many other nights to come." Clarke turns to Lexa before continuing. "You don’t have to pretend I’m here anymore, my love." She whispers the last part against Lexa’s lips, before kissing her lovingly.
When they part Lexa smiles widely at her before biting her lower lip in thought. "Would you like to see the lake?"
"Lake?"
"Yeah… There's a small lake that can be reached by the yard. It reminded me of the one near Polis. That's why I chose to move in here."
"Well, in that case… I'd love to see the lake. But I have to warn you: I don't know how to swim, so you'd better not push me in the water if you don't want me to drown." Clarke jokes, because literally everyone in this world, or in any world, knows Lexa would never do anything that could endanger Clarke.
"I make no promises… I'm pretty sure by the end of the night I will be able to get you wet." Clarke’s heart skips a bit when she notices the smirk on Lexa’s face as she says the last part. In case she had any doubt, the pun was totally intended.
When Lexa moves towards the stairs to go back downstairs, she gives Clarke a look of victory. Clarke doesn’t want to give her the satisfaction, and she shakes her head pretending Lexa’s words didn’t affect her at all. Unfortunately, though, the darker shade of her eyes is enough to give away her turn-on.
She might not like the man, but she'll never thank Jaha enough for this chip.

The 100, Sailor Moon Style
I've had this idea kicking around for a few days now. However, I am not about to start writing another massive fanfic undertaking. So, I'm dropping the outline here for y'all to enjoy and at least temporarily washing my hands of it.
Picture this: It's the 100, but the world and dynamic is set up with Sailor Moon mythos and backstory. Scrap some of the 100 political dynamics to make them fit more with Sailor Moon. Silver Millennium "kingdoms of earth" are just the twelve clans plus the Maun-de and exiled working together as different nations under one planetary ruler, Heda. Extrapolating further, Nia is Queen of the Negaverse now, but she was the young ruler of the Ice Nation in their past lives and tried to take the throne of Earth just like Beryl did. (We are going to ignore the whole jealous romance part from Sailor Moon canon).
So what about Skaikru? Well, they can still have been the Senshi and people from other planets fleeing the Negaverse (or Galactica or whichever evil ya want). They came down to earth in Praimfaya seeking sanctuary and protection during the time frame equivalent to the Silver Millennium. The Heda of the time (previous-Lexa) agreed, and that Heda fell in love with the princess of the Skaikru (previous-Clarke), who is this version's Sailor Moon. Although I don't think we will keep to planetary naming, I'm using it now for simplicity.
Either way, the pair fall in love, their people are mostly happy, but then the Negaverse finds the weak link that is Nia. And Nia finds Titus who unwittingly betrays Heda (because hate the guy all you want, he really did think he was doing what was best). Titus' betrayal leads to the equivalent of the earth generals being captured and taken to the Negaverse as minions. For this let's make Anya, Gustus, Indra, and Roan be the four generals taken along with Titus. ALIE will be how the Negaverse controls people to be the "monsters" they spawn and attack, as well as the generals and anyone else brainwashed.
Skaikru's scouts don't have the whole romantic tragedy that the scouts/generals do in Sailor Moon canon (unless you ship Ranya) but they really don't need it to realize that the general's were once good people. Like all the ordinary people ALIE was implanted in that they have to free, the scouts learn the generals need to be freed too.
You're probably wondering who the scours are? Me too. This may be controversial, but as I'm setting "modern time" to be one where the 12 clans, Skaikru, the Maun-de, and the exiled from the dead zone all live in some type of coalition/not actively at war every other decade, I feel free to pick from them all.
Inner scouts are going to be Octavia, Raven, Murphy, and Bellamy.
Outer scouts are Lincoln, Costia, Emori, and Maya (or whatever the name of the Maun-de chick Jasper falls in love with is). Also, as much as I'm a clextia fan, this Costia is only going to go as far as Ray did with Darien. But she's still going to be a valued member of the team. No bashing people in my house.
So anyway, those are their modern iterations. They're coming from a world where all the lands get along and the Negaverse is the new secret bad they all have to fight. There's no major separation between inner and outer scouts like in canon except that the outer are living in different parts of the modern world and tracking them down is harder/different than the inners who are all at least in the same town/region.
So yeah, that's what I have for now. The scouts all get flashes of their past life and powers and such. Lexa doesn't really remember hers since tragic death and all (just like in both shows sadly). Clarke witnessing Lexa's first death is what triggers their reset thing maybe. That can be figured out later, lightning strikes once and all that. Somewhere along the line they'll find Luna and Kane as their "mentors" and no, they aren't cats for this. Jake and Abby are Clarke's modern parents. Some sort of reveal will happen to give Lexa her memories and show the generals also need to be freed. And Titus who will have some role where he can't leave the Negaverse and has to live with the knowledge of his mistakes having lead to this. Hmm. Maybe Titus frees a captured Lexa and is the one to get everyone their full memories back as repentance. Anyways.
That's all folks.
If anyone else is a major fan of these shows and wants to run with their own version you're welcome to it. Feedback and suggestions welcome.

canon divergences.
the following are the list of canon divergences, separated by season, that will operate as canon on this blog, unless plotted otherwise. please read them before and keep them in mind when writing with me.
pre-show.
APPROXIMATELY 350 YEARS pass before the 100 are sent down to earth - allowing the grounders culture and language to fully develop realistically
before lexa, the role of heda was SOLELY A SPIRITUAL / MEDIATOR ROLE. they were expected to oversee conflicts between the clans and use the wisdom of past commanders to maintain peace and make rulings - similar to a religious leader. they were not meant to be a military leader or head of any clan/alliance of clans, hence all the clans still having their own leader (azgeda queen, etc) and why shiedheda’s desire to take over was so opposed
lexa was the first heda to use her power as commander to unite the clans and in doing so moved the position of heda from spiritual leader to overall leader of the clans, using the threat of the mountain men as a leading reason to persuade the other leaders. hence why she’s the first commander of the 12 clans despite their being previous commanders.
titus orchestrated costia’s death. he viewed her and her relationship with lexa as a threat to the commander’s strength and power. he plotted with azgeda to have her kidnapped and killed.
season two.
season two is good, we like season two.
the only difference is that the season occurs over SIX MONTHS not three weeks and the quest to infiltrate the mountain involves more missions in order to assess the threat.
relationships with skaikru - and between lexa and clarke - are extremely tense at first. it is what hinders the progress at first because both sides are wary of the other and sometimes act on their own/without consulting the others. it takes time for the alliance to become stable-ish
additionally lexa doesn’t going to develop feelings for clarke right away. it takes them spending a lot of time together for the feelings to grow: first respect and then fondness.
season three. ( oh boy here we go ).
THIS BLOG DOESN’T ACKNOWLEDGE THE CITY OF LIGHT PLOT. instead the main conflict of season 3 is civil war between the grounders and pike’s storyline.
once again, the events take place over a much longer duration of time than presented in the show
all the clan leaders are furious at lexa for the deal she made at the mountain. there are uprisings against her authority in a majority of the clans - azgeda leads the charge.
at first lexa leads her supporters into battle against those opposing her, but as the opposition gains momentum and becomes more vocal, she is urged to return to polis both to quell the political dissent amongst the ambassadors and also to better protect herself
the duel against roan occurs as shown; however, a prominent fraction of the clans REMAIN OPPOSED to lexa. they don’t all fall into line and the civil war continues.
lexa plans to keep onatari imprisoned at polis, acknowledging her threat and importance to those opposed to her, but she manages to escape with the help fo lexa’s enemies.
upon discovering that skaikru murdered her peaceful army, lexa remains committed to calling for the death of pike and those who were involved in the slaughter, but agrees to exhibit jus no drein jus daun for the rest of arkadia. after the attack on a trikru village, she orders the blockade to be put in place until pike and his accomplices are handed over.
her decision is still not met favorably due to her people wanting ALL of skaikru to pay for the massacre. the uprising grows in strength
lexa DOES NOT give clarke the choice not to kill emerson because it would undermine her rule. she still has the ceremony play out like emerson will be killed in order to show the clans that even skaikru, when given the chance for revenge, will choose to follow her new ruling. in actuality, the choice is a facade.
titus remains firmly opposed to all of lexa’s decisions and places blame of all this her feelings for clarke. he begins plotting clarke’s death as he did with costia.
the difference is that instead of killing her himself, titus reaches out to a collective of nomadic grounders and employs them sneak into polis and assassinate clarke. this way a.) neither he, lexa, or the clans can be blamed by skaikru for clarke’s death and b.) if skaikru decides to retaliate against the clans then titus believes lexa will respond with force since she has no remaining reason to spare them
however, lexa’s enemy catch wind of the plan and use the opening in polis’ defenses to launch a proper coup. fighting breaks out in the city, which is caught completely off guard, and while lexa’s forces manage to push the attackers back, lexa is severely wounded during the battle
at first, lexa is believed dead and the flame is removed. however, upon preparing her body for her funeral, titus realizes that she is still alive, simply in a coma. he tells no one, waiting to see if lexa survives the night. if she does, he plans to alert the others before the conclave
due to ontari killing the other nightbloods, titus decides it’s too dangerous to tell anyone that lexa is still alive.
knowing that if lexa is left in polis she will surely be killed by ontari / her supporters, titus smuggles her out of the city and places her in the care of a group of trusted guards. they take lexa to a far away, remote area where she can recover safely.
titus tells no one about lexa’s survival; the knowledge dies with him.
the rest of the season plays out with the focus on dethroning ontari and overthrowing pike.
the oncoming radiation is discovered after animals, particularly fish and birds, begin showing up dead with radiation burns.
season four.
by default, lexa is believed dead and recovering for the entirety of the season
she plans to return to polis and reclaim her place as commander once she fully healed and returned to her former strength.
due to titus being killed, she is unaware of what is developing at polis or the oncoming of praimfaya - until animals begin showing up dead. all her guards eventually perish when praimfaya hits.
season five.
lexa spends the six years surviving on her own unless otherwise plotted
she is drawn back to the other characters by the landing of gagarin. she eventually reunites with wonkru and the others
lexa’s reappearance creates two factions in wonkru, one who remain committed to octavia’s leadership while the other views lexa as the true commander.
lexa doesn’t hide her desire / expectation that the flame and leadership of wonkru be returned to her - which only increases the tension between the two factions, leading to in-fighting.
after octavia is placed in the coma, lexa retakes the flame, not madi, though she takes madi as her second. ( if plotted that madi takes the flame, it happens behind lexa’s back. she then becomes a mentor for madi, helping her adjust to the new role )
the fighting between those loyal to lexa versus those loyal to octavia reaches its peak once lexa has been reaccepted by the flame and especially after octavia burns the hydofarm. a civil war appears ready to erupt but mccreary’s attack forces them to shift their focus to his forces
by default, the damoculus event never occurs and they all must learn to share the valley until more land heals
threads where the event occurs must be plotted for the time being

Somebody Save Me (Clexa/Supercorp AU)
Yeah, so I’ve never seen a single The 100 episode, so this might be ooc. To make up for it though, I made everyone hella gay. Also, this has probably been done before, but whatever. Don’t kill me for this:
In this AU, there is no Superman
But 20 or so years ago, there was a different Supergirl.
Some years back, a young Kryptonian from the El family, who is also a junior member of the Medical Guild, is sent on a mission to Earth to find habitable planets to replace the dying Krypton.
However, something goes wrong with their mission. Their ship crashes, and the girl is the only known survivor. She has no way of contacting Krypton and no way of knowing her planet’s fate. She’s taken in by the human couple who finds her wandering in the fields.
Hence, Clarke Kent is born. (Her Kryptonian name is Klark-El)
Under the yellow sun, Clarke is endowed with extraordinary powers that she decides to use to protect her adopted planet.
I hc that Clarke later studied medicine to became a doctor (in one version, she serves a couple of tours before moving to Metropolis).
Unbeknownst to her, another member of their mission’s original team survived -- her aunt Astra. Astra, armed with the knowledge that Krypton is dying, sets about trying to colonize Earth.
Astra makes contact with the Luthors in Metropolis. Initially, she establishes a professional relationship with Lillian, and appeals to the scientist in her -- using a transmatter portal between the two planets. Lillian agrees because it would make more money for LuthorCorp and give it monopoly over alien tech. Astra tells her that the portal is so she can go back home.
Just so y’all know, Lillian and Astra totally banged ;)
Anyway, at that time that Clarke arrived, the Luthors had 2 daughters: Lexa, who was in her late teens then, and Lena, who was still a kid.
Lexa, being a Luthor, is a prodigy, and Lillian decides to initiate her eldest daughter into the scheme, to test her brilliance. Only, at that time, Lexa had a girlfriend that Lillian didn’t know about -- Costia.
What Lillian doesn’t tell Lexa is that she has a back-up plan to neutralize Astra. If Astra tried to bring any foreign material (including Kryptonians) through the portal, the portal would self-destruct.
When Astra tries to go through with her plans to bring Kryptonians through the portal without telling Lillian, the machine explodes, killing everyone within a ten mile radius. Lexa happened to be in the city with Costia at the time, and after the explosion, she and Costia are trapped under a building for 2 days. She survived but Costia died from internal injuries.
Lexa becomes embittered against aliens, and when she finds out that there are aliens living in hiding in Metropolis, she starts attacking them and flushing them out. She begins to view aliens as a threat and a danger to Earth and the humans in it.
Lillian furthers this point of view and deliberately fuels her daughter’s vendetta against aliens by reminding her of what happened to Costia. She heralds her brilliant daughter as humanity’s savior and Earth’s defender.
Also, because I need a villain-esque aesthetic (let’s just pretend it’s a mask):
When Lexa goes full-scale attack, Clarke has no choice but to stop her. Hence, Supergirl is born.
Meanwhile, Krypton has exploded, and Kara’s pod crashes to Earth. To protect her, Clarke leaves Kara with the Danvers family as she tries to stop Lexa from hunting and attacking aliens.
As for the Clexa, y’all know how the enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies trope works. We all know where this goes:
Lexa doesn’t want to learn her name. Doesn’t want to know who this woman becomes when Lexa isn’t fucking her or trying to kill her.
This girl with eyes the color of the sky -- bright and fiery blue under the sunlight that Lexa has discovered is the source of her powers; and now, dark and velvet indigo as if she’s brought the night sky with her into this room.
No, Lexa doesn’t want to know her name. That would make it real.
It’s not. It’s not real, Lexa reassures herself as she wraps her hand around a thick lock of blond hair and tugs, hard, earning a startled moan in response. It’s not real, she thinks, as she arches her back desperately, following lips that skate from her navel to the throbbing heat between her legs. It’s not real, Lexa chants in her head, but what comes out of her mouth is a cross between a demand and a plea.
“Fuck me.”
It’s not real, Lexa thinks as she keeps her eyes closed against the sunlight slowly creeping into the room. Her sky-eyed girl says something about needing to go, but Lexa shushes her softly and grabs the fingers that had been tracing her arm, pulling them around her waist instead.
No, it’s not real. She’s human, and this girl with eyes like the sky she fell from is an alien. An invader bringing nothing but death and destruction to her home and to her life. Just like the rest of them.
It cannot be real. But sometimes... God, sometimes she wishes it were.
So, anyway. Inevitably, they both know something -- someone -- has to break. They can’t go on like this. When Lexa launches an attack against a race of aliens Clarke knows to be peaceful, she has no choice but to intervene. She damages the Lexasuit (yes, there is a Lexasuit) severely, and it’s publicly revealed that Lexa is the one behind the attacks. During their fight, Lexa is critically injured.
Clarke, however, can’t bring herself to kill Lexa and end it. She hears Lillian and Cadmus coming to aid Lexa, so she flies off.
In one version of this au, Lexa goes into a coma, and Lillian performs experiments on her daughter to transfer her consciousness into a computer (I know it’s ridiculous, but the show has given us even more ridiculous plots before).
Since there’s no point in prosecuting an unconscious woman, Clarke thinks the threat from Lexa is neutralized.
Fast forward about 15 years later, Clarke is ready to retire from being Supergirl and focus more on her medical practice. She passes the mantle on to her cousin.
Lena takes over LuthorCorp and turns it into L-Corp. Kara becomes Supergirl.
Clarke finds herself in the same room she was in years ago. It’s not the same anymore, of course. Too much time has passed. The building is abandoned now, decrepit and isolated, the room in a similar state of disrepair.
But all it takes is a deep breath and her permission, and suddenly, it’s fifteen years ago in her mind. The bed used to be here, sturdy enough not to fall apart under the weight of a Super and a Luthor, and the delicious madness that had driven them both together here, time and time again.
Clarke stands in the middle of the now empty room, and imagines that if she strains her sensitive ears just hard enough, she can still hear the echoed moans and murmurs of the enigmatic girl who had so captured her in this room. The girl who had demanded her surrender outside of this room, but gave Clarke hers within these walls.
She remembers the last night.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. We both have our roles. I have to protect my kind, and you... You will do everything to protect yours. It’s why I---” Her captor stops herself, but Clarke hears the unspoken words. She searches for them in those cold green eyes, but before Clarke can find them, she snatches them back. “It’s why you’re you. And it’s why I’m me.”
“Maybe someday...” Clarke keeps her words hopeful, even though they both know ‘someday’ will never come. “You and I will owe nothing more to our kind.”
A smile, wry but soft, graces her lips. A smile that’s not a smile. “I hope so.”
Clarke exhales, and pulls herself back to the present with conscious effort. It’s been so long. So long....
Now there’s a new Supergirl. And a new Luthor.
And Clarke prays to Rao or whatever God might be listening that they don’t make the same mistakes she and Lexa did.
[Yeeeeahhh, so this happened.... Thoughts???]

Your new Sunday verse had me in tears and it was so well written! What do you think their life would look like post college?
Listen.
Listen.
Sunday’s Clexa might actually be the most disgustingly aesthetic, loving, protective, supportive couple in the entire fucking world. Like any picture you see that I reblog that includes anything with a slight Sunday’s vibe, that’s them. That’s how I see them in the future.
Their careers aside, Clarke and Lexa start really shaping their future together when they get back together after that break. There has always been talk of weddings and living in a house big enough for children and pets and love and happiness, but when they get back together it seems to kick up a notch and they realise that the person looking into their eyes is their future.
Do people question them? Yes. All the time. But it’s always strangers. Their friends completely understand the dynamic and the obsession they have with one another, they understand the bridges that have been built to replace the ones that have been burnt and it’s beautiful to watch the growth and development and strength they get from one another. They have a support system outside of one another that is stronger than anything they’ve experienced before and they thrive. Fuck, they thrive.
“Your first love is your last love?”
People ask Clarke how Lexa, her first girlfriend, her first love, her first heartbreak, is her last love. People don’t marry someone they met as a teenager, right? It just doesn’t happen. And oh, but it does. It happens and they’re proud about it. Because Finn was important and Costia was important because they built the foundations for the road that led Clarke and Lexa to be together.
Their first apartment is tiny but the red brick is gorgeous and Lexa falls in love with the dark windows, even if the elevator is constantly broken and if someone is walking up the only staircase nobody can fit to walk past them on the way down. Their bed fills up most of the space and Lexa fills the shelves with candles because electricity is overrated and Clarke looks incredible under a deep orange glow.
They fight and make up and make love for years and years and infinity. Most of their fights seem to last half a day, little moments of bickering that turn into frustrations, but they always make up before they fall asleep. Anya has to step in during one of their bigger ones when Lexa goes back to Arkadia because, it seems, they can’t even be in the same room without disagreeing.
(Anya sends Lexa back with a sorry stapled to her lips and a promise to stop fighting. Because Lexa is happy and in love and always waiting for the end to come and Clarke is tired. Because they’re never going to end and Lexa needs to stop talking like it’s inevitable.)
(She learns.)
When they move into the house they grow old in, Clarke cries. Her dad lives on the same street and the garden is big enough for their children and she can see herself and Lexa on the porch, hot chocolate and coffee keeping their thin hands warm, and she can see future weddings and birthdays and happiness.
They work hard and sometimes days can go by when they don’t see each other but they always, always, always save Sunday. That is, that always has been, and that will always be THEIR DAY. It’s for them. They go to Church in the morning and greet friends and family and then they go for a walk somewhere pretty and Lexa admires how the seasons change the colour of Clarke’s eyes and Clarke takes pictures of her girlfriend, her fiance, her wife. She uses them as bookmarks and coasters and pins them everywhere. Lexa has never thought of herself as beautiful before but Clarke changes that easily.
Together they raise two children, a girl and a boy. Clarke carries their first child and then Lexa, knowing how it feels, meets a young boy in the system and her eyes beg Clarke. He’s beautiful and polite and everything they needed to complete their family.
They grow old and photo books fill with pictures of the two of them, and then the three of them, and then four. Winter sunsets fall into Spring flowers into Summer holidays into Pumpkin patches. Days fold into weeks draw into months develop into years and before they know it their daughter is getting married and their son is travelling the world and they’re old ladies with more memories than wrinkles.
It’s a Sunday and Clarke kisses Lexa as their daughter drives away with her husband, her pregnancy bump still bringing tears to her mothers eyes, and she keeps her eyes closed as images of a sweaty Lexa introducing herself fill her heart. “I love you today more than any previous Sunday, do you know that?”
“I’ll love you until the last star in the sky falls,” Lexa promises.
HAVE I EVER SAID HOW MUCH I HATE THEM?

Why did decide to make Lexa the one who broke things off? In all your stories Lexa usually knows what she wants and goes for it. Clarke on the contrary is more insecure about relationships.
Anyway, love all your works. Thank you for keeping Clexa fall in love over and over again 😊
2 main reasons:
1. I didn't like the scenario of having Lexa potentially leaving a woman at the altar. Because that would've set up the necessity to either make Costia entirely unlikable so that the audience was rooting for Clarke without question, OR, go with what my main instincts about Costia has always been, make her incredibly likeable and thus have the decision be truly gut wrenching and hard for Lexa to make. Which, yes, would be a great story that I'd love to read, but honestly I didn't want to write an angsty piece. I just wanted to follow the vein of lighthearted romcom with moments of angst like the movie. I enjoy writing comedy and fluff over angst🤷♀️
2. I liked the idea of exploring Lexa more as a humanistic character with real human flaws. In so many of my fics she's always this larger than life character, whereas in this, she's just a person. She has faults and frailties and insecurities. She's been immature and grown as a person, she makes mistakes and then makes them again, but still, she tries her best to learn and make up for them when she can, like we all do. Breaking up with Clarke was a mistake, but her motivations behind it came from a very humanistic place, and I wanted to explore that for her.

The 100 rewatch: 2x09 Remember Me
Unlike the previous episode, this one is one of my favorites. Very character-based and emotional, wonderfully written, acted, great music and cinematography, editing, everything is perfect. Maybe it doesn’t have a crucial event like some others, but it’s very important for character development and some of the key relationships. (This was also the episode where I thought that “the subtext is rapidly becoming text” when it comes to one such relationship. But it turns out that what I find obvious may not be as obvious to the entire fandom.)
Rating: 10/10
I love the way this episode focuses on Clarke’s emotional state and the way the trauma of having had to kill Finn, and how that affects her. I may not have liked Finn as a character much, but he makes for a really effective hallucination haunting Clarke, as an embodiment of her guilt and trauma and her fear of the pain that love can bring. (Although the title feels kind of ironic now, since the fandom has pretty much forgotten Finn and his significance for Clarke’s character arc.)
What happened makes Clarke all the more determined to make the truce with the Grounders work, as a way to feel that the sacrifice was not for nothing: “If this truce doesn’t hold, I killed Finn for nothing”. Now, the alliance will ultimately fail, the Grounder army won’t help her against the Mountain Men, and instead it’s Bellamy’s inside mission (which was his idea – something that people tend to forget for very strange reasons*) that will play the crucial role in saving their people from Mount Weather. However, if not for the truce, the Grounders would have attacked them, more people would die, and they would have probably never gotten the chance to save the 47 from the MW. So, in the end, it was not for nothing.
One relationship that’s changed due to Finn’s death – and in this case, maybe poisoned forever – is Clarke’s friendship with Raven. Raven starts off being completely furious at Clarke over killing Finn, even sucker-punching her at one point and calling her a murderer. By the end of the episode, after seeing Gustus executed in a prolonged and torturous way, she realizes that Clarke was sparing Finn. But while it seemed that their friendship was fixed, I’m not sure that things were ever the same – because Raven will go on to have a few other occasions where she was unfair to Clarke and blaming her to things like deciding who lives or dies, even when she was one of the people entrusting her with that responsibility. When she was possessed by ALIE in season 3, did she still really blame Clarke on some level for Finn’s death (and ALIE picked up on that and made her say it)? Or was it just ALIE (and Raven’s subconscious) coming up with something that plays on Clarke’s insecurities – the idea that she causes harm and death to the people she loves and who love her?
One of the most emotional scenes is Clarke’s argument with Abby, which shows how complicated their relationship is, and is a resolution of the grudge Clarke has carried against her for her father’s death. Abby tries to comfort Clarke, telling her of her own experience (“The pain will fade… What got me through is my love for you”), and Clarke lets her mother comfort her only until she realizes that Abby is talking about Jake, and gets furious over that comparison, pointing out that Abby’s betrayal of Jake is nothing like Clarke having no choice but to kill Finn. She still hasn’t forgiven her, even though they have been on good terms – the wound is still there. But when Abby tries to explain herself, saying she didn’t know Jaha would execute Jake, and Clarke calls her out on the fact that she must have still realized Jake wouldn’t give up, Abby basically admits that she prioritized the big picture – what she thought was for the well-being of all her people – over her husband, and Clarke concludes, shocked, “We are the same”.
It’s interesting that, after Abby finds love again with Kane, she will do the opposite and absolutely refuse to sacrifice him in season 4, when Jaha asks that of her. It’s a do-over, determination not to do the same this time (as she said in season 3 when Kane was threatened with execution, “I cannot do this again” – which was the first time she pretty much admitted she loved him. Then she goes on to kind of betray him during the Dark Year (not at cost of his life, but at the cost of his principles and emotional well-being), which is one of the things she felt guilty about (in addition to pushing Octavia into more extreme actions and being responsible for a lot of the deaths and horror) when the guilt broke her and made her an addict. But at the end of season 5, she was again fully determined to “save the man I love”.
Clarke herself says something very similar to Bellamy (similar to what Abby later told Kane in S3), when he tells her about his plan to infiltrate Mount Weather and disable their acid fog from the inside, and she opposes it on the grounds that it’s too risky: “I cannot lose you, too”. But she eventually changes her mind, after being told by Lexa that “Love is weakness”.
This phrase is one of those repetitive phrases that we hear many times during the show (like “Blood must have blood” or “My sister, my responsibility”) – and characters either believe in it, or oppose it and declare the opposite, that “Love is strength”. In this episode, it seems like it’s something that Lexa herself came up with, due to her own traumatic experience, after the Ice Nation queen captured, tortured and killed her lover, Costia, and then sent Lexa her head. (This is the first mention of the Ice Nation, or any of the separate Grounder clans. Queen Nia was established as extremely ruthless from the start even before we knew who she was.) Later in S3, we learn it was originally something Lexa first heard from her mentor, Flame-keeper Titus. Then in S5, we learn it’s actually something that all Flame-keepers tell all Commanders. It’s probably a retcon, but a really good one. It makes sense, from what we’ve seen of the Grounder culture that this is what all Commanders would be taught. It’s not a healthy way to live, and it’s very questionable advice, but you can see where it comes from: a leader may be compromised if someone they love is captured or threatened, enemies or rivals may use that to manipulate them to their advantage, or a leader may be influenced by someone they love (and I’m sure Flame-keepers would like to be the only ones to influence them) for better or worse, or a leader may make decisions prioritizing their loved ones over the well-being of the entire group – because it’s human to care more about those close to you than a big number of people you don’t know.
Now that we know her entire history, Lexa’s entire life seems pretty sad: from a very young age, she’s been both enormously privileged and powerful, and given an enormous amount of responsibility and denied anything like normal childhood (not even what goes for normal childhood on average in this post-apocalyptic world) – raised to fight a bunch of other kids to the death, winning the Hunger Games-like Conclave at around 12, getting a chip put into her head with a bunch of dead people’s memories, seeing all the adults around her fawn over her, obey her and expect her to make decisions about everyone’s fate, while at the same time being told that she must be “strong” at all times, not show any weakness – which includes not loving anyone – because her rivals and enemies may use that to kill her and take over. (I doubt that Commanders can ever retire, or lose power and survive.) She’s still human and a young woman who wants love so she fell in love, but then her terrible experience convinced her that her mentor was right. It’s very ironic that she’s the one to tell Clarke that “love is weakness”, because she’ll soon fall in love with Clarke and start wanting Clarke to love her. I think it’s in the next episode that you can see the moment when she falls for Clarke. At this point, I think she was just impressed with/drawn to Clarke and saw in her an equal, another, slightly younger girl who’s a leader with a lot of responsibility, intelligence and courage, and who can make tough decisions. This is something new for her, because everyone else she’s ever been close to has been her subject: Costia, Gustus, Anya, even Titus. But she doesn’t know how to live without power, it or how to treat people as equals (as seen in her attempts to control Clarke in S3). Another contradiction is that Clarke is warmer and more idealistic than Lexa, and I believe that Lexa is drawn to Clarke partially because of the way Clarke can love and fight for people she cares about – but at the same time, Lexa, with her leadership lessons, is constantly trying to make Clarke more like herself, teach her to be less caring, more ruthless, readier to treat people as expendable and sacrifice them, as she herself has been taught a leader must be.
As far as I’m concerned, Clarke was a much better leader the way she was, and those lessons are not good for her. She’ll change her mind later and won’t really accept the “love is weakness” philosophy. But in this episode, in her vulnerable state and faced with the reality that she will have to make more terrible choices, she feels that it’s the only way to both do her duty, and avoid pain – by trying to repress feelings of love. Which makes her change her mind and decide to let Bellamy go to Mount Weather, after all.
…And this is the point where I thought “Wow, the show is really getting obvious about Bellarke?” The show has been making romantic hints about them since 1x08, but it was mostly subtexty and ambiguous about the nature of their feelings for each other, except for that one moment in 1x08 where Bellamy obviously realized he was attracted to Clarke but seemed like he didn’t want to deal with it. This is the first time the word “love” is mentioned in connection to their relationship, though indirectly (and the last time before Octavia’s “another traitor who you love” remark to Bellamy in season 5). First we have Clarke saying “I can’t lose you, too” and explicitly equating Bellamy’s role in her life with Finn’s. Later, Bellamy is the one to figure out that the person who actually poisoned the cup and apparently tried to kill Lexa was actually her loyal bodyguard Gustus, who was framing the Skaikru (and Raven specifically) as a way to destroy the alliance and ‘protect’ her from the backlash Gustus thought it would cause to her (his scheme did not involve any immediate danger to her, as he drank the poison, knowing he would survive). And then there’s dramatic transition from a close-up of Clarke’s face to a close-up of Bellamy’s face, all emotional and under dramatic lighting, in another scene, as he’s explaining how he figured out the culprit: “He would do anything for her, to protect her… It just makes sense” It couldn’t be more obvious he’s talking about himself and his feelings for Clarke. (Earlier on there was a scene where we can notice if we pay attention that he was standing next to Clarke protectively and even threw her cup, which was kind of funny, because it’s not like she was going to drink from it.) Octavia is like “Look at the thanks he got” – which is kind of stupid, why should Lexa be grateful that Gustus went behind her back, schemed and nearly ruined her alliance and caused a war “for her own good”? But it’s either Octavia talking about Bellamy and Clarke and bashing Clarke as she often likes to do, or the show trying to set up “Oh noes!! Will Clarke sacrifice Bellamy?? Stay tuned!” tension for the rest of the season in a slightly over-dramatic way. Then we get dramatic close-up of Clarke and Bellamy, as she tells him to go to Mount Weather after all, explaining her change of heart: “I was being weak”. Followed by the scene of her saying goodbye to Hallucination!Finn: “Love is weakness!”
As far as subtle hints go, I thought this was more like hitting the viewer on the head with a sledgehammer? But it turns out that what I thought was obvious isn’t at all obvious to many other fans, so whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Now, I’m not sure what exactly Clarke and Bellamy at this point thought on the conscious level their feelings for each other were, and maybe they didn’t even have the same idea what their relationship was or could be. It’s interesting that Bellamy was making the parallel between himself and Gustus – who obviously had a close platonic relationship with Lexa (going by their relative ages and the fact she used to be a child ruler, he had probably been her bodyguard since she was a little girl, and was something like a father or uncle figure to her, in addition to just a subject’s devotion to the Commander). So it can be argued that’s how Bellamy sees their relationship to Clarke at this point – or that he’s just realized how devoted he is to her, but isn’t sure about the nature of those feelings. (Which is certainly not for lack of attraction, since we know since season 1 that he’s attracted to her.) But Clarke is making parallels between Bellamy and Finn, her dead love interest, and Bellamy and Costia, Lexa’s dead lover. The implication was clear: if you are a leader and you love someone, harm can come to them exactly because of your relationship; you may be “weak” and fail to do your duty because of your feelings (like not let someone go on a mission they may be uniquely qualified for), or you may risk their life (say, letting them go on a dangerous mission) and lose them and them feel terrible pain, so it’s best to repress all such feelings. To be fair, they kind of intermingle the non-romantic and romantic relationships here in all the parallel, since there’s also a parallel between Finn and Gustus as Clarke watches Lexa kill Gustus, and Abby declares “We are not so different after all”.
The only thing I dislike about this episode are fandom’s bad interpretations of this moment. I loved the dark atmosphere of these scenes, but I was scratching my head when I saw people going on about how it’s all about Bad Clarke who doesn’t care about Bellamy and finds his life to be an acceptable risk (even though the rest of the season and subsequent seasons make it clear she doesn’t find it acceptable) and how he’s so devoted to her but “look at the thanks he got” (you mean all the times she showed she’s just as devoted and protective of him as he is of her? But let’s take characters’ lines literally instead and ignore actual events). She’s just practically said she loves him, you dummies! Bellamy himself doesn’t understand that, because he has no context to her line “I was being weak”, so he looks hurt and obviously think she doesn’t care that much as it seemed for a moment – but the audience does have the full context and should be able to put 2 and 2 together! Or even worse – people who write long ranty posts about how Bad Clarke was “abusive” to Poor Bellamy because he’s in a subjugated position to her and how she “sent” him to danger and he got tortured in Mount Weather for doing her bidding (?). As in, when she decided to stop objecting to him going on a mission that was his idea and his plan and that he wanted to do because he cares about saving his friends? When was Bellamy in a subjugated position to Clarke? He even said he didn’t take her orders and she had to appeal to their personal relationship to stop him from going. They often argue and disagree and take stands and even get in a big conflict almost every season. Funny how some people who claim to be Bellamy fans are eager to ignore his agency, accomplishments and strength of character. I guess that’s what happens when hating Clarke and being anti-Bellarke (in any form) is the priority. To be fair, the show kind of gave them something to build that one when they had ALIE!Raven taunt Bellamy in season 3 about supposedly just listening to Clarke’s orders, but to take ALIE’s attempts to play on characters’ insecurities as gospel truth, in spite of what we actually see of the character dynamics, is like taking it literally that Clarke is actually “poison” to her loved ones. (Then again, I guess some do take that literally.)
But I refuse to let bad fandom interpretations ruin a great episode for me.
*end of regularly scheduled daily rant*
Meanwhile, in Mount Weather, the last prominent Mountain Man villain is introduced – Carl Emerson, head guard and Cage’s right hand man. Probably the Mountain Man I hate the most, for the fact that he kept on being a nuisance in season 3 and wasn’t just evil at that point but also annoying. Emerson seemed to be in quite a senior position, since he was reporting to Cage about Lexa’s actions (explaining that she’s a kind of leader who makes alliances – referring probably to her efforts to unite the clans). Probably intel gotten from torturing captured Grounders.
It’s not often that the Mount Weather portion of the episode is the lighter one, but that’s the case here. It feels almost like Adventure Squad from season 1, as Miller and Monty use their respective skills in thieving/hacking, with Maya’s help, to send Jasper’s message out and reach other Arkers. Like Raven a couple of episodes ago, Monty has figured out the stuff about radio frequencies, including the fact that the Mountain Men crashed the Exodus ship in season 1.There’s also a rare comic moment with Monty as he manages to send a message by pretending to be doing maintenance work, but then has to run away when Emerson figures him out.
But it ends in a dark way, with Monty and Harper both put in cages, and the revelation that the Mountain Men had already built one for each of the 47.
(Fortunately, Monty and Harper were too smart to ever use the line “We found each other in cages” as foreplay.)
TImeline: the next day after Finn’s death, which was a day or so after 2x06, and that was 2 days after 2x05. This is maybe a week since the end of season 1 – 10 days at most?
Body count: Gustus –executed in a painful, prolonged way by a bunch of Grounders, with Lexa delivering the final blow, and telling her to “Stay strong” as his last words.

Mamma Mia! Clexa AU
(DISCLAIMER: I won’t actually be writing this, it’s just a weird fucking idea that popped into my head. Like… it’s pretty out there so just… keep an open mind.)
Summer, 1992:
22 year old Clarke Griffin had no idea what she wanted to do with her life, but she knew the path she was on wasn’t it. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the most prestigious medical school in the country, Clarke decides to pack up and leave the world she knows behind. Clarke may not know what she wants out of life, but working in a white, sterile, death filled hospital isn’t it.
The only people she tells are her two best friends, Octavia Blake and Raven Reyes. Knowing there was no way to change Clarke’s mind, they all get drunk and pack one single bag for Clarke.
Then Clarke leaves everything she’s ever known behind.
At the airport, her heart tells her to go to Paris, France so that is exactly what she does.
Rather quickly, and awkwardly might she add, she runs into a beautiful captivating brunette named Lexa (shocker), who charms her way into the blonde’s heart. And similarly, the brunette falls for Clarke’s quirky, free spirit.
Lexa speaks with passion and fire and Clarke can tell she’s not even trying to be charming, she just is. The one thing Lexa isn’t passionate about is her life that is laid out before her, just waiting until she gets back.
The charming stranger speaks fondly of a beautiful Grecian island, Polis, just off the mainland where the Bath of Aphrodite is and begs Clarke to go with her. (no joke I looked it up and the Bath of Aphrodite is literally in a place called POLIS!)
Clarke, having no idea about her destiny, has this gut feeling that she will find it on this island. So she goes.
They stay in an old shack where Lexa had been staying before her trip to Paris. Their trip to the island is crazy and passionate and romantic. They swim in the fountain of Aphrodite and share a rather intimate moment between lovers.
Life is great, they’re living and loving so passionately just like one should.
But all good things must come to and end.
One day when Lexa is sleeping, Clarke is looking around the shack for a spoon to scoop her orange. Opening a drawer, she finds a journal with a picture sticking out.
Lexa’s journal with a picture sticking out.
Intrigued, she tugs on the photo lightly, and what she sees makes her heart stop. It’s Lexa, with a beautiful, beautiful woman and a hefty shining rock on her left ring finger. She drops the book and runs.
runs and runs and runs until she finds herself in an abandoned goat house.
Unfortunately, Lexa woke just in time to see Clarke drop the picture. She chases her into the goat house, tears in her eyes as she begs for Clarke to listen.
But Clarke doesn’t listen. The one good thing she had, the one thing that brought her happiness in her empty life, was a cheater. And the fact that Lexa could make her the other woman, could do that to this beautiful girl waiting for her back home was baffling. So she told Lexa off and demanded she leave and never see her again.
Even with the bad memories, the island is calling for her to stay, so she does.
(This is where is gets weird and magical, but please bare with me.)
It just so happens that Aphrodite’s fountain is real, and not just a stretch of water.
Clarke realizes she’s pregnant, but given that she and Lexa are both women and she hasn’t slept with a man in years, the only solution she can come to is that it was Aphrodite.
Fast forward 21 years: 2013
Clarke’s daughter Madi is getting married, and one day, when she’s searching for fabric in her mother’s old goat house she finds a journal. A journal that documented everything that happened the summer her mother was pregnant with her.
The power of Aphrodite has always been real to the people of Polis. Unexplained scenarios, that could only be described as supernatural, had always happened around the island. She’s grown up knowing the power of Aphrodite, her mother always telling the story how she was born from it.
But Madi always knew there had to be someone else. Someone else that loved just has hard as her mother, in order for Aphrodite’s powers to work.
And this journal proved it.
Cue Madi sending this woman, who she is convinced is her other mom, an invite to her wedding. But in her moms name.
Lexa doesn’t hesitate to pack up her things and book a flight and ferry out to the Island of Polis.
Similarly to their first meet, it’s charming, friendly but awkward. Clarke can’t deal with the stress of the wedding, and now Lexa just showing up out of nowhere. It’s bringing up old feelings that she doesn’t need.
Clarke doesn’t mention their daughter. In fact, she hide’s Lexa, thus thinking she’s hiding Madi. But little does she know her ex lover and daughter have become quite close. And Lexa immediately knows Madi is her daughter.
Try has she might, Clarke can’t stay away. Aphrodite has a way of bringing those who are meant to be together… well together.
Lexa explains her troubled relationship with Costia, and how when she left the island, she broke things off with her and came right back to the island the see Clarke. But Clarke very clearly didn’t want to be found, judging by the army brigade that nearly murdered Lexa on sight.
It’s a lot of crying, a lot of explaining, and a lot of rehashing feelings and getting to know each other. But Aphrodite is known for being the goddess of love. And Clarke learns to love Lexa again, making their home on the island with their daughter and new son-in-law.
and they all lived happily ever after.

self fic rec: top 5
i was tagged by @octannibal-blake because i literally asked someone to tag me... i love self promotion sorry not sorry
There is no particular order to these because i love them all for different reasons!
rules: list your top 5 favorites of your fics, what they’re about, and why you’re proud of them, then tag some fic authors to do the same! (this was harder than i expected)
Hoping My Feelings, They Would Drown
A post 5x09 fix it fic that was literally the most cathartic thing to write in the history of my life. Clarke comes back to save Bellamy after she leaves him in 5x09 and they have it out once they make it to Eden. I need this type of Hakeldama 2.0 in canon, and I need it to be the narrative calling out Clarke, because... i have a lot of feelings. It was nice to write canon divergent verse and actually feel comfortable with it, a lot of the time i go pretty off from what the canon is actually doing when i write canon verse but this time i tried to keep to something more logically canon-possible and stick to what has happened in canon in their conversations which was fun and different.
I’ll Always Come When You Call
My first ever Clexa fic! Clarke is a Siren that Lexa meets, and they fall in love over time. This fic is really more of a Modern AU Lexa character study, but with mermaids because who doesn’t love mermaids. I go into her feelings about Costia a lot, and her closing herself off to love and things like that, and its really a fic about Lexa learning to move on and love again after such a horrible loss. I love this fic a whole lot.
I Let Him Climb Inside My Body
Ahhhh, my canon-verse spec fic for Murven. Murphy and Raven’s relationship changes over the like, 7 years they’ve known each other in canon, and then like 3 more post canon. Emori passes away and Raven and spacekru comfort him and somehow in the midst of it all, she falls in love with him. A bit of a Murphy character study, and a soft hurt/comfort fic. I dont ship them, i sort of did s4 but i don’t anymore, but this is one of my fave fics i’ve written tbh.
And She Said Use Your Hands In My Spare Time
My first ever true smut fic. In canon-verse, s5, Clarke can’t get off on her own for some reason (ehem, her man is back and her body knows what she wants and stages a mutiny against her) and in an attempt to walk it off and get out of her own head, she runs into Bellamy and smut ensues. I had a really good time writing this and playing with how to write smut, and i really like what it ended up being.
Come Tomorrow I’ll Be In The Ocean
Probably the saddest fic i’ve ever written in my life, a re-write of Jasper’s death scene. Monty didn’t get a real true goodbye with his brother in canon and so i rewrote it to give them a chance at a real conversation, and apologies and i love you’s and understanding and just pure love and grief from them both. It’s what Monty deserved, it’s what we deserved, and more than anything, its what Jasper deserved. I cried writing it, and have since cried multiple times re-reading it.
Tagging: @the-most-beautiful-broom @raven-reyes-of-sunshine @spacexualkids and anyone else who wants to do it, i’m blanking on who writes fics im sorry yall <3
