I gotta say, Will Buxton laughing at Alex Brundle as he gave his perspective on the collision between Max and Lando was so disrespectful.

Like I get that it was probably instinctual and that he probably didn’t think before he did it (but that’s kinda the problem). And I don’t even think he was intentionally trying to be an asshole but regardless it came off condescending as fuck.

Plus it also just reaffirmed what a lot of people feel that a lot of the commentators don’t care about alternative possibilities because they’ve already decided Max is guilty.

You can call me sensitive, that’s fine, but it was condescending and unprofessional even if unintentional.

I kept hearing (Christian) women say they were quitting therapy and I never understood why, as I recently started going to therapy for PPD. WELL I was explaining to my therapist the weight of being a homemaker and trying to manage my PCOS but also trying to make food that my husband enjoyed. Y’all I’m not kidding she laughed in my face and told me that that was the most ridiculous thing she’d ever heard, that my husband was an adult and he can cook for himself. Like ma’am?? I pay for NOTHING, I do not work outside of the home, my job is quite literally to take care of my family. To assume that my husband should cook for himself, split the housework (another recommendation from her), and split the child care when he is off work is insanity. Just because the work CAN BE hard, doesn’t mean it’s something to be bummed off on my husband.

Something I wish people online understood is that hyper-specific triggers and anxieties aren’t the responsibility of strangers online, but not in that gross cringe culture/anti-SJ way that actively mocks traumatized people.

You are 100% fucking valid if you have a “weird” or unconventional trigger, but the problem lies in expecting people online to somehow preemptively know this and go out of their way to censor all their posts that reference it. At some point, you need to take the responsibility on yourself and seek professional help or coping strategies that will help you manage your triggers because it’s genuinely unhealthy to snap at a stranger online because they didn’t add a warning tag for the color green or mentions of a Top 100s pop song.

Basically, we need to treat people with patience and sympathy but also stop normalizing the idea that it’s other people’s job to do this for us.
