NOTE: In light of the recent information that's come out about Forever, I've turned off reblogs on this post.

As an archivist, it feels disingenuous to delete history and pretend it never happened, so clips related to Forever can still be found on the blog and timestamps for past VODs will still be up on the VOD Timestamp Archive for archival purposes. Forever is one of my favorite streamers I've met thanks to QSMP, so I wanted to show my appreciation for him and love for his character as thanks for all the laughs he's given me! Here are some of my favorite clips of him and his friends from 2023.

I wasn't able to include every clip I love since that would make this video too long, plus I only wanted to use clips I had from Forever's POV (with one small exception), but hopefully there are still a few old and new bits that'll make you laugh as much as I did the first time I saw them!

I developed Lamia to answer a specific question: What kind of person could have a compelling love story with Xigbar, of all people? And one facet of that question is: What kind of person could benefit from a relationship with Xigbar? What would that even look like?

Lamia has a whole host of issues that make them distrustful of sincere affection and kindness. It's not a conscious decision—they know, intellectually, that when Aerith stops by just to say hello, or Arno gives them a sincere compliment, that there aren't any strings attached, that there isn't a secret motive behind it. But on an instinctual level...they're always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

However. Xigbar...is a jerk. He has no pretenses of being nice or sweet or altruistic. He makes no effort to hide the fact that he has ulterior motives for following Lamia around and keeping them alive. He's such an uncaring self-interested son of a gun, in fact, that he buys them cake.

It's just a bribe, you see; Lamia hardly eats unless they have the promise of their favorite dessert. Nevermind that Xigbar's memorized what their favorite dessert is, and nevermind that he cooked the food he's bribing them to eat, and nevermind that he sits and jokes with them the whole time. He's just making sure they eat something so they don't pass out in the middle of a Heartless fight.

And it works for Lamia! Even though "the cake is a bribe" is clearly a paper-thin excuse, it still shortcuts all of their defenses, because Xigbar pretends he's only doing it because he gets something out of it. Xigbar's cynical pragmatism, rather than being a hindrance to his relationship with Lamia, enables them to accept his care and affection. Xigbar's similar efforts to care for them—to get them to sleep and rest and go see Aerith instead of launching themself into another fight on 2 HP—all work for Lamia, too, for similar reasons.

There's a lot more I could say—I could go on forever about these two, but that's what the fic's for, I suppose. Ultimately, they're two very messed up people who happen to be messed up in ways that help each other be a little less messed up.

ive been having fun lately with a thing i call Eating Glass Time where i pick from a list ive made of movies that i know will make me want to eat glass. i dont read the synops i just put them on the list and i go "ive heard this one and this one are really bad" and then i coinflip and pick one of the two for that night and i watch it. it's enrichment. it sucks. i have like 30 more to watch
