I’ve given into my urges.
I have made some Resident Evil characters in the Sims4.
The list is kind of weird since I wanted to make some characters related, and I don’t think you can make them related when they’re already pre-existing, but the list of ones I’ve made are: Claire, Chris, Leon, Sherry, Krauser, Luis, Carlos, and Ada.
(I’ll get pictures soon, don’t worry!)
#the embers speak#before anyone asks why Ashley and/or Jill aren’t included#I can only make eight at a time.#I wanted to make Claire and Chris siblings (obviously)#and also make Claire and Leon parents to Sherry#and Krauser was included in the list because I prefer Father to Leon!Krauser#and didn’t want to risk the sims choosing to make them romantic towards each other#sorry metaltango shippers I’m not shipping what I see as a teacher/student relationship#Carlos was made because I love him though if I didn’t add him in this household Ashley would’ve been in his place

I need to get this out. Okay (plus I'm using the translator. Sorry for any English mistakes! Or something confused😭)
Imagine a platonic yandere Leon Kennedy RE2 x Reader young zombie. (although that idea doesn't exactly sound yandere)
Reader was abandoned by her parents when the virus devastated the city, abandoned to become another one of those zombies. And well, she became a zombie, but a different zombie, she still has a human mind and can still reason (let's assume her appearance still looks like a human, that makes things easier).
When Reader found Leon, she was still bitter and sad about being abandoned. And of course, after Leon noticed the presence of a teenager, he would try to take her with him, after all the city is very dangerous for a young girl! (As far as Leon knows, the reader is human)
It was sad, because a stranger (Leon) is more worried about her than her parents ever were. Because of Leon's heart, he convinced Reader to try to survive together.
The fact that the reader is a zombie makes everything easier for Leon. Is there somewhere Leon needs to go but it's infested with zombies? No problem, the reader can do this for him, or even serve as a distraction, the other zombies won't attack her. The reader's ease in doing this makes Leon worried and suspicious of her. But let's assume that at this point the two have grown attached to each other and he lets it go (for now).
Additional: Reader literally growls when he sees Ada too close to Leon. Like, what are you bicht doing to the only person who cares about me grrrrr.
Fun addition: Ada also becomes a platonic Yandere for Reader
Too lazy to elaborate, but the ending is basically the Reader not wanting to leave town because it would probably become an experiment for the government, she was scared. And Leon insisting that he will protect her at all costs, that he will not abandon her regardless of what happens. And this moves Reader, the atmosphere is so anguished and fluffy. (This idea is much better in my head)
And Claire with Sherry by her side, it's like Leon: Oh, you adopted a child too?
Leon: Huh? what??
Reader with an extremely sad face like *I was abandoned by my parents*
Leon immediately corrected himself: Yes, I adopted her.
This is how I see Leon and Reader when they are together: font Google lol

Cool thanks for answering! In that case, can I ask for some headcanons about Leon and a younger sibling reader that has to work as an agent with him? Poor guy needs a bit of company in his misery.
Leon Headcanons on working with his agent sibling…
Any version of Leon + GN!Youngersibling (3 year gap) (TW : Mentions of alcoholism and smoking)
Had you not followed your older sibling into Raccoon City, desperately trying to get him from going in there after hearing reports of a mysterious yet lethal outbreak only to get tangled in this mess, you wouldn’t be standing in the dark office of the president of the United States, standing alongside your older brother.
You were just 19, like the other girl you and Leon came across in the city. Nineteen with big dreams of becoming a nurse and helping people take better care of their health, just like how Leon wanted to help people and keep them safe when he joined the police academy. Neither of you expected your lives to turn out this way, as lap dogs for the government’s fight against bioterrorism.
For missions, you and Leon were usually separated because they deemed him better than you. Of course, you wanted to be with your brother and same went for him but he had missions he couldn’t say no to or else Sherry and Claire would be in danger. You trained hard and proved yourself to the bigwigs of USSTRATCOM but they continued to send you on missions different from Leon’s. Leon felt slight relief at that; his missions were far more taxing and demanding and getting you endangered would be too much for him to handle.
Leon would usually frequent nearby bars to drink after a particularly harsh mission, often falling drunk inside the bars and needing to be picked up by you. It broke your heart to see him like this, getting drunk and relying on bottles of alcohol to escape whatever was plaguing his mind. Most nights involved you taking care of him, tucking him in and placing medicine along with a glass of water for his hangover the next morning.
You would quietly cry to yourself when you saw Leon this way because it reminded you of how Leon took care of you when you were sick, your older sibling doing his best to make you feel better and get back to full health back in the orphanage. You rarely got to express what you truly felt since your line of work required you to appear strong and unbreaking. You knew how exhausted and miserable Leon is so you usually kept thoughts and feelings to yourself.
Leon didn’t mind eating anything that was edible but not nutritious; as long as he had something to eat in order to sustain himself for the next few days in the mission, he considered himself lucky. Seeing you eat what he usually ate made him feel horrible; you were trying not to gag on the snake meat, not even chewing the raw meat and just straight up swallowing it to avoid having the taste in your mouth. He tried his best to make sure you had better food so you wouldn’t look even more miserable than you already are.
You were who Leon first thought of when Shen Mei refused to leave her younger brother as her mansion blew up and slowly crumbled down to the ground. As much as he wanted to save Jun See and her, all of his efforts would be futile so he had no choice but to rush her out. He saw the state Jun See was in and that further strengthened his resolve on making sure that nothing ever happens to you.
Your and his early life was difficult, usually having to move and end friendships with schoolmates and neighbors because your family had connections to crime syndicates. You don’t remember much about the death of your parents, except that Leon refused to have you look at them until they were ready for a burial and made sure that they looked less unsettling with their lifeless eyes and pale skin tainted with blood. From then on, he took on a parental role in your life.
When he asked Hunnigan if she could fake his and Helena’s deaths, he also requested that she tell him the exact way you reacted. Of course, you didn’t take it well; you had just gotten off of a physically-demanding mission in Serbia and badly needed sleep.
“Y/N. There’s something I have to tell you,” Hunnigan’s voice came from the other end of the line. Adjusting the phone to your other hand and tucking the one that previously held the phone into the pocket of your trousers, you leaned against the wall. Your tired gaze drifted over to the wall-mounted TV, playing the news. Suddenly, the broadcast was interrupted and news of the President’s death was publicised. There were also other deaths reported, specifically deaths of agents close to the President, one of those names being your older brother’s. “Your brother’s dead.” Hunnigan somberly disclosed. “I’m sorry for your loss.” The phone almost slips from your hands, your grip faltering as they tremor. The room is spinning and even breathing feels like a chore, tears wetting your eyes before they leave salty trails on your bruised cheeks. “No he’s not,” you assert in denial. “No, Hunnigan. He’s not– they just misidentified a body, right?” Hunnigan’s silence spoke volumes. In a culmination of the lack of sleep, the flurry of emotions, and the denial of the fact that the last person keeping you connected to your family is dead, you ended up snapping and losing your composure, screaming into the television and crying.
In order to cope with his death, you picked up a habit of his: drinking. Worse, you tried smoking. The smoke tasted horrible but the tar drying up your throat felt better compared to the dryness caused by endless crying and screaming at God for taking him away from you– if there even was one to begin with.
Despite having practically begged your superiors to not be placed in a mission because you couldn’t do it, they didn’t heed your requests and still sent you to missions overseas. Many times you contemplated not returning home, just going MIA or dying in a country unknown to you– foreign blood on foreign soil. Leon wasn’t alive anymore, there was no one to live for, and the government wants you to keep working for them until a BOW eventually snuffs the life out of you so what was the point of even living?
Six months later, Leon managed to come back to you in one piece. You thought that it was a cruel hallucination induced by the ungodly lack of sleep and the drunken state you were in after having finished a myriad of bitter drinks. Heavy footfalls neared you before stopping at your side, a warm and very much alive Leon giving you a tight hug. Of course, you slowly snapped out of the habit and started taking care of yourself again, even if it was hard to stem a vice.
After a certain mission and being laid off for a little bit, you attempted to knock some sense back into him. You tried to get him to stop drinking, though it was no use. It upset you to see him do the same things you did when you thought that he died, knowing how self-destructive this can get if no one is there to get him out of it. Luckily for you, Chris and Rebecca managed to help you get him back on his feet and start his journey towards sobriety.
Fortunately, you and him were transferred under the DSO and have been sent on missions together, much to your relief. Though it was still a misery doing these things with no definite end in sight, it felt comforting to be with your brother. The latest mission in Alcatraz was a partial success: Dylan Blake being dead but Antonio Taylor, the man you two were sent to retrieve, is also dead.
Leon groans as he rolls his shoulder, a hand coming up to where the bullet scar in his shoulder to ease the tension in his muscles. “God, we’re getting too old for this,” he jokingly mumbles as he continues to stretch his limbs on the way to the helicopter that will pick everyone up. “Who’s ‘we’? That’s just you, pops. I’m still relatively young,” you cockily respond with a mischievous smirk. He just rolls his eyes and scoffs, walking in silence to the elevator. You see Claire in front of you and you wave with a small smile, Leon averting his gaze to elsewhere and Claire following suit. “You should seriously set things right with her again,” you softly suggest. You knew about the falling out between her and Leon, the two never having spoken to each other in a long time due to their differences. Claire had her reasons to be upset but Leon didn’t act on it because he wanted to keep defending the government and their questionable stances regarding the war against BOWs; he simply wanted to keep Claire safe, make sure that the government wouldn’t hurt her. “Yeah. I’ll… I’ll think about it,” Leon quietly mutters. You give him a small pat, adding an encouraging squeeze to his shoulder (more like giving the shoulder strap of his compact bullet-proof vest a squeeze).
NOTE - I finally managed to do this request!!!! A bunch of requests have been marinating in my inbox so to be able to accomplish this one feels heavenly. I hope that the anon who requested this headcanons (that sorta turned into drabbles... sorry I got carried away) would like this :)) Anyways, I got a weird ass request but declined to write it (i replied to it) and I came across another blog who also got a request where the reader is also itchy so this is... interesting... Be careful out there, there's weirdos lurking :/ Umm that's it, I hope you enjoyed this and TYSMMM for reading my works!!!!!!!! I <33333 UUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!

In terms of getting really obscure facts about my Special Interests(tm) I am a master.
So here’s a whole bunch of obscure Resident Evil facts for y’all!
Part two: here!
Part three: here!
Lemme know if any of these surprised you or if you knew any of these!
☠️ Leon is scared of lightning (Astraphobia) but not thunder. (RE6)
☠️ Chris has a fear of late night phone calls because that’s how he learned of his parents death.
☠️ Piers is very heavily implied to be Bisexual due to a file in Revelations 2 (his concept art also implies this, if you know you know)
☠️ The Hound Wolf Squad is the only squad Chris has had that have all survived the entire game.
☠️ Wesker and Birkin were childhood friends
☠️ The Cerberus are all clones of each other which is why they’re all Doberman
☠️ Leon is a terrible driver, crashing one of just about every vehicle type including cars, a boat, a motorbike, a plane and a helicopter.
☠️ Sheva is one of the only left handed characters
☠️ Wesker wore glasses to hide his emotions (and later his red eyes)
☠️ Chris can play Bass guitar
☠️ Ada Wong isn’t her real name
☠️ Vector is Japanese
☠️ Vector is the only character that can canonically turn invisible (Hunk can too but only in various mercenary modes)
☠️ Hunk is said to respond emotionally to the name ‘Bella’
☠️ The USS soldier who shot Birkin and started the outbreak had the callsign ‘Ghost’
☠️ Nighthawk has two call signs, the other being ‘Lone Wolf’
☠️ Barry Burton and Wesker are the same age however Wesker appeared to stop aging at 38 years old after infection.
☠️ Jake Muller was conceived before Wesker was infected with the Progenitor Virus making his immunity to the C Virus a plot hole.
☠️ Lobo is the only member of the Hound Wolf Squad that had worked with Chris prior to Village. See Heavenly Island
☠️ Piers was introduced in the comic The Marhawa Desire set before RE6
☠️ Chris and Jill both know 7 fighting styles. Leon knows 6
☠️ Lady Dimitrescu is highly implied to be Lesbian
☠️ Heisenberg was the one who told Chris and the Hound Wolf Squad about Miranda (though planned to betray them from the beginning)
☠️ Ethan’s immortality was gained back in RE7 at the dinner table scene with the Bakers as they resurrected him after Jack killed him.
☠️ Piers and Claire kept in contact via email and later phone calls up until his death in China. It is implied he told her nothing about Chris’s amnesia at the time.
☠️ Jill Valentine learned to lock pick from her father who was a French thief
☠️ Leon once considered suicide after the events of RE2 but stayed alive because Sherry needed him
☠️ Leon’s parents were both criminals who died when he was a child. He was inspired to become a cop after the one who rescued him.
☠️ Hunk had an intense rivalry with Nicholai which is why he interfered so much with Vector and Wolfpack.
☠️ Birkin prided himself on being the youngest Umbrella researcher at only 16 until a 10 year old Alexia Ashford came along.
☠️ Wesker made his own blueprints for anti BOW weaponry which later inspired the creations of Thor’s Hammer and modifications based on his original Samurai Edge called the AW Model
☠️Jake Muller is an incredibly gifted pianist
☠️ Chris Redfield was a notorious prankster during his days at STARS
☠️ When Chris went missing after Edonia one of the people Piers contacted was Sheva.
☠️ Leon and Wesker never meet nor interact directly
☠️ Hunk has also never interacted with any of the main characters including Wesker
☠️ During RE2 Wesker/Ada and Hunk were working against each other to obtain the G Virus unknowingly
☠️ Some, if not all of Wolfpack survive the Raccoon City outbreak after sparing Leon, Claire and Sherry and betraying Umbrella.
☠️The BSAA were actively working against Chris and the HWS in Village, implying to even have the green light to kill them.
☠️ Zoe Baker after RE7 is implied to have become an informant for Chris Redfield and a journalist
☠️ Hunk agreed to personally train Vector after they fought to a draw. Vector is also the only character to ever escape from Hunk’s neck snapping headlock.
☠️ The USS were Umbrella’s personal army whilst the UBCS were just hired mercenaries and in the end considered a liability
☠️ Simmons from RE6 was one of the ones responsible for passing the vote to blow up Raccoon City
☠️ About 10% of humans have immunity to the T-Virus and Umbrella never figured out how
☠️ Chief Irons was straight up a serial killer able to cover his tracks thanks to Umbrella’s involvement while also being paid to stay quiet about their experiments
☠️ Hunk developed his own fighting style called Close Quarters Quarantined Battle Zone after Umbrella’s downfall in 2003 in which he became a legendary mercenary.
☠️ Thanks to Shadows of Rose, Chris is implied to still be working well into his 60’s as well as the Hound Wolf Squad.
☠️ ‘K’ from Shadows of Rose is heavily implied to be an older Canine from the HWS
☠️ The new Death Island CGI movie is not only the first time we’ll see Jill in the timeline since 2009 but also the first time we’ll see Leon and Jill onscreen together

These are official files in RE6 and are important when looking at Leon and Claire’s relationship with Sherry.
Can’t help but wonder if Leon too can see the influence that Claire clearly has on Sherry.
This next one is Leon talking to the FREAKING PRESIDENT (well before he was in office BUT STILL). He’s talking to the future president about his little family which he sacrificed and cares so much for.
He wants to give up, but now he has a little girl that needs him. So after realizing that little Sherry needs her new parental figures, Leon pushes on, even though it’s really hard to keep going. Also notice the way Leon says “our reason”. Not just his. Not just Claire’s. But theirs. He already has that mindset of a parent, and I’m sure Claire is thinking the same way too.
Regardless of how you view Leon and Claire, whether you think they’d make a great couple or not, you can’t deny that they’re literally Sherry’s parents. You can feel how they’re both trying their best (together) for her, even though they don’t know what the hell they’re really doing because they’re so young. But hey, if you ask me, they’re doing a whole of a hell lot better than Sherry’s biological parents ever could.
The only thing missing is their reunion. We haven’t seen them all together since RE2. However, Capcom seems to have this problem with most of their characters. For example, Claire and Chris. They are siblings and have only been seen together once in all of these games. Kind of criminal if you ask me.
Anyways, these three really should meet again. They’re a family after all.

No, hold on, I'm actually mad about this now (again).
Like, I just want everyone to stop and think about how completely nonsensical this version of Leon that's being pushed actually is.
So, he's a blonde second-generation Italian guy (despite the fact that him being so aggressively American is a running gag in OG RE4) named Scott Kennedy (because that's not ridiculous on its face already. Also he spends literally every single moment of his adult life outside of RE4 making sure that his roots never show because ??) who is the most naive motherfucker on the planet going into RE2 despite the fact that he grew up in a mafia family. Said mafia family, by the way, was murdered by a rival gang, and the only memento Leon has of his late father is a Zippo lighter that he then, later, as an adult, got the RPD logo engraved on. Because fuck sentimental value, actually, I guess.
He hits on every pretty woman who crosses his path, except it's just a joke and for funsies and he doesn't actually sleep with any of them or even want to, and when he tells Shen May he wants to take her out and doesn't care that she has a boyfriend, that's completely innocent and in no way reflects badly on him as a complete and total scumbag. His arrested development at age 21 and his brain being frozen permanently in 1998 paired with his extreme loneliness caused by forced isolation are just accessories for window dressing, actually, and have absolutely no bearing on his personality because he's just a clueless well-meaning introvert at heart who accidentally stumbles on the scummiest shit to say to women sometimes, but it's ok because he's doing his best.
Also, despite being an obnoxious do-gooder and perfect student, he was late to his first day of work at the RPD because he irresponsibly got drunk over being dumped by a girl that is never mentioned or even alluded to at any point during his character arc.
But he's definitely not a slut.
Not only that, but he's said to be one of the smartest people in the cast ("practically a genius," Ada calls him in a report) and yet he hero worships and unconditionally trusts and respects the man who kidnapped him off the streets outside of Raccoon City and held a gun to his surrogate daughter's head and ruined both of their lives.
All of this makes sense. This is definitely 100% the true intended interpretation of Leon S. Kennedy and is in no way a bunch of bullshit slapped together with no evidence for it in canon.
This absolutely makes way more sense than the interpretation of:
Leon has no canonical backstory but is so aggressively American that it's a running gag in OG RE4 (he's literally called "The American pig" at one point), so chances are he had a really mundane upbringing by parents who are part of families that have been in this country for several generations past already. He was an honor roll student who got top marks in police academy and specifically chose to apply to and join a police force in a city that had a gruesome serial killer investigation on-going because he has something to prove.
(Also, he's only blonde in one singular title out of the ten that he's appeared in because his natural hair color is, in fact, actually brown.)
In his stubbornness, he pushes Claire away because he's still trying to prove something to everyone and also himself by insisting that he'll be fine taking care of Sherry on his own. This hubris born from insecurity bites him in the ass when he gets snatched off the street by faceless CIA goons and forced into being trained to and actually performing the government's dirty work.
His captivity, forced isolation, and personal failures in and just after Raccoon City have dealt a massive blow to his sense of self-worth and his self-image, creating a desperately lonely man who has the maturity of a 21 year old well into his late 20s and 30s. This causes him to pursue superficial, physical relationships with women, because he fears being vulnerable enough to actually open up to anyone emotionally. Unfortunately, all of these little details culminate in some self-sabotaging and scumbag behavior, up to and including being an outright homewrecker, unconcerned with whether a woman he's trying to fuck has a boyfriend or is married or whatever -- as evidenced by his interaction with Shen May.
His self-isolation and depression get even worse later in life when an outbreak occurs in Tall Oaks, and he's forced to shoot and kill one of the only people who's ever cared about him -- a military officer turned president whose goals and values align with Leon's own, and who genuinely values his company and expertise and takes his (Leon's) emotions and trauma seriously. Adam Benford can't undo the damage that was done by Leon's capture and forced servitude, because he can't go back in time and he wasn't even there when it happened, but he did give Leon hope for a brighter future.
^^^^^ THIS??? ^^^^^ is using information that is strictly found in the games and CGI movies -- and does not conveniently omit any other details about him (other than the whole Ada thing, but like -- that's irrelevant to the point I'm trying to make). It is the whole picture of Leon as the games paint him and nothing else. THIS is what the intended canon for him is.
NONE OF THAT OTHER BULLSHIT is in the games, because none of that other bullshit makes sense -- which should be really fucking evident to anyone paying attention, especially now that it's been written out in full.

Molly Jericho Headcanons/Lore bits
(Feel free to ask about anything about her outside of this) -Molly is a medic more than she is an officer. She'd much rather be helping heal someone than in direct action, like alongside Chris or Jill, or even Leon. -Became a Medic at 19 alongside Rebecca Chambers (19 years old in RE1-RE2), who she is very close to throughout the Resident Evil franchise -Was in Raccoon City in RE2 (just found out happens 2 months later from RE0-1) trying to find the nest. She first meets Leon here but never came across Claire. Escaped the city before Leon, Claire and Sherry did with a bunch of documents she went to the Nest for (I'll develop this point at a later date, could be for research on Umbrella's T-Virus, idk)
-Molly had very absent parents. Grew up in a large, poor family and just faded into the background as a Middle child. Took care of her little siblings when her parents and older siblings started disappearing one by one. -Despite growing up without much, struggling with multiple jobs to care for her family when their parents and older siblings were gone, she managed to get her degrees to become a Medic on a Scholarship due to her high grades. It was hard for her to study in the conditions of her household but she got what she needed and was excited to be able to go through with her dream of having a job in healthcare without having to worry much about finances. -Molly's shy, scaredy-cat (I won't say coward, she's a precious baby) demeanour is most likely a result of her parents and some of her older siblings treatment of her (only one older sibling who left the household entirely was good). If they didn't ignore her entirely, they saw her as an annoying inconvenience when she looked for affection or help caring for her little siblings. Everyone but the youngest children in her family were abused in multiple ways, so she came out not mentally well. -Uses a majority of her salary on clothes and toys for her little siblings who, when she left, ended up in her good older brother's care. Doesn't talk to her other family members, most of them disappeared anyway which did worry her somewhat, but those who are still around call and are horrible and she gets too nervous and scared to hang up on them, even when they're yelling. She just freezes. -Was glad to get combat and gun training in the S.T.A.R.S team but honestly would prefer to leave combat to members like Chris and Jill. She admires how brave they are and gets along well with them too, though Chris believes she could try to be braver considering when she's working with them, she has to be an officer, not just the sweetheart medic. -Considering RE5 is 10 years later from RE1, Molly is 29 in the events of all that happens in 5. Is actually a bit braver with how much time passes, but the PTSD never does really fade. -Absolutely despises Wesker and Ivory. Ivory is to Molly what Wesker is to Chris, and vice versa.
-It is absolutely canon that Ivory makes fun of Molly by calling her Molly-Dolly. It started from a joke phrase, much like Wesker saying "Oh little fishy, come see my hook" for Chris, but Ivory stuck with it because she finds Molly too fun to mess with. -She looks like she wouldn't, but she actually does like drinking. Only likes drinking cider though, other alcoholic drinks taste, in her drunken words, 'like piss mixed with rubbing alcohol'. (Honestly, this is what I thought the first time I tasted Single Malt Whiskey). Her drinking habit is probably one of the things she and Leon bond over. These two will probably end up doing karaoke at the end of the night drunk off of their asses.
-Favourite song is 'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor (Ironic huh) -Would probably try to befriend Mr.X if she could. Kinda looks like her big brother, if you take away the wrinkled, gray skin. Also she fumbled with her gun so bad seeing X that she accidentally shot off his fedora and despite nearly peeing her pants when he charged faster because of it, she later has a laugh with Leon when she thinks about how silly it is that he only charged when she messed with his hat. Like seriously, bro gets so mad if you shoot his fedora off.
-Likes collecting beanie babies. She has a rainbow one she loves. Uhhhh can't think of anymore rn but like I said, feel free to ask some stuff? If you want? Realised I don't think I did one of these for Ivory so i'll have to do so later.

Thought of Sherry and made myself sad because she was 10 (retconned from being 12) during the whole Raccoon City incident and didn't have her pseudo parents (Claire and Leon) for a week before she's being shifted into Simmons' hands.
I was thinking of what kind of lie and the strings of control Simmons would have to cast in order to make Sherry trust him. I can believe she was tutored the year the incident took place partially because they wanted to check her danger levels as a bioweapon and partially because she was a traumatized child so her mental state would need to be balanced before being thrown back into school. The best place for her would be private school the whole time. There's a level of control money brings, and Simmons would be able to pay off or make disappear anyone who might see something strange about her. He'd funnel her to private doctors and nurses for all her appointments where she might be out of school for a week here and there, but her absence and lack of work wouldn't be punished either because, again, money talks.
I can think of her as suspicious and untrustworthy of Simmons at the beginning because Leon promised to protect her, and she's hearing nothing from him. I'd think Simmons would extend an olive branch to keep that control and lie appropriately. If he says Leon abandoned her, it would incite rebellion, and he needed Sherry to trust him. He'd probably tell her Leon was paying for everything with his job so she could live a normal life. Her acceptance of this would come in tiny waves. She did hear other student's parents talk about how expensive tuition and supplies and uniforms are. She is getting the nicest toys whether they're limited edition or sold out before they appear in her room all wrapped up with a bow. She can decorate her room however she wants and anything she needs is provided quickly.
She can't see Simmons weaving the web where sometimes her gifts would read "From: Leon". It's not his handwriting, but Sherry wouldn't know. She doesn't get that an extended school vacation after breaking an arm which healed in a week instead of 6-8 weeks was a means of keeping up the air of normalcy to her peers. She's told over and over Leon's working hard to make sure she has the best of everything, and does she really want to stop him? Does she know what'll happen if she does? Suddenly it's like she's with her parents again. That if she makes too much of a fuss she'll cause problems for them. She'll cause problems for Leon. So she oh so gradually stops asking where he is and what he's doing and when she can see him. Besides, the excuses for why she can't know that information were getting old and tired anyway. "He just left the country", or "He's getting special training," or "He's moving again". It was like they weren't even trying to not lie to her.
Until Claire comes to visit. What better way for Simmons to cement the trust he needs then to let Sherry see the other important person in her life as much as she can? Which does work. When Claire visits on her school breaks and holidays, the lies do feel a lot more like the truth. Sherry doesn't expect Claire and Leon to be attached at the hip, but if Claire can visit while being busy with college, maybe Leon was as busy as Simmons said. It helps that Claire admits she also struggles getting in contact with Leon. So maybe Leon was almost always out of the country and getting training and working all hours since everything Sherry needed was so expensive. Maybe he was working so hard to make sure Sherry had the best life she could. Maybe she should stop trying to see deception that wasn't there and work hard herself to make sure Leon's efforts went to something good. So she stops asking for Leon except maybe around the milestone events like the 13th birthday and 16th birthday and 18th birthday, and highschool graduation, and college graduation, and by then? By then, all the little red flags of Simmons control hadn't registered until RE6 where the mask comes off.
She sees Leon for the first time in 15 years, and it's him telling her everything was a lie. Simmons was a traitor and never had her best interest in mind. Never had their best interest in mind, and too many things are happening for her to process the information. She just has to swallow it all.
What's worse is she probably would try her best not to beat herself up about it, but I don't know how well she'd succeed. The looping mantra of knowing at 10 years old she was right about the lies and fell for them anyway. Having the hindsight of an adult to notice every single time Simmons nudged her life this way or that way to make sure she did everything he wanted. Questioning how many of her decisions were her wanting to be better than her parents, to make Leon's effort worth it, to be as well-adjusted as she could be around Claire, how much was actually her and how much was Simmons' manipulation? How much of her choices and personhood were hers and not a result of what Simmons wanted her to be? Fingers crossed she took a long vacation after RE6, and a longer vacation to really comb through that contract Simmons definitely gave her for her current career.

room tour???
I’m assuming this is in response to me showing off the rooms in my RE household. Anyway-
Claire’s Room
Didn’t have of much of idea of what to do besides using red and making it look like a room she’d likely use. Also, Chris likes to randomly go into her room, talk to her, and then use her exercising equipment very casually as they’re still talking.
Sherry’s Room
Used a lot of lighter blue along with whites and lighter browns as it fits for her. Also, tissues next to the bed because I don’t know, something tells me she sometimes has hardcore crying sessions because of Raccoon City as well as loosing both of her parents. Also, she has an art easel as I feel like she’d like painting in some way.
Carlos’s Room
Carlos and Chris really got short ends of the stick as they’re both military-ish green men. For that reason, I used a lot more browns for of them to make things look better. A lot of I wanted to use for him were locked by career stuff, and unfortunately, to cheat to unlock them does not work on PS4, so I used could.
Fun fact: I made Luis an astronaut (because closet thing to scientist I have active in the game), and he has to workout for likely higher chances of being promoted. Because of this, I make him go into Carlos or Leon’s rooms when they’re there, and he flirts with them automatically without me making him do so.
Luis’s Room
Yes, his room will be lost if there were to ever be a fire started in there, but in my honest opinion, it’s worth it for aesthetics and canon accuracy. I don’t know, something just tells me he’d use a lot of candles, and the curtains and bed just scream him to me. When he’s not being gay, he likes to read in his room a lot by the way.
Leon’s Room
A lot of blue and black for him as I had no ideas really for him. I might go back and edit to make it more messy/depressing as I hc he is messy (not on purpose though). Plus, he is depressed so making his room reflect that makes sense. Also, the TV in front of the treadmill is something I feel like he’d do. The row of bookshelves is for aesthetic (He rarely reads /hj)
Chris’s Room
I GAVE HIM BACK HIS GUITAR. Also, I did say him and Carlos got short ends of the stick thanks to the military green they wear. Gym equipment as this man keeps constantly wanting to work out. I might make his room messy since in the OG RE2, Leon makes comments about Chris being messy.
Krauser’s Room
A hidden-ish bisexual flag since I feel like he’d be ashamed of being gay (internalized homophobia™️). Coffin is there not only because he is dead but because I wanted to do a replacement for Las Plagas for him by making him a vampire. One of the weaknesses I gave him was only being able to rest in a coffin. I completely forgot to give him a dresser and mirror (as I did with everyone else), but I’ll fix it later.
Ada’s room has three pictures, and I reached the image limit so, time to wait for a reblog for her room.
#the embers are speaking#fellow anons#sims4 stuff#resident evil#claire redfield#sherry birkin#carlos oliveira#luis serra#luis serra navarro#leon kennedy#chris redfield#jack krauser#ada wong#I’ll show her room off in the reblog#give me a minute

no but like on a serious note, i know fandom believes claire left without a second thought but if you think about the fact that leon had to do the big voice to make her leave because she didn't want to go. and there's guilt in her mind because chris has been her whole everything since forever, sacrificed anything for her but she's sitting on an uncomfortable motel chair watching sherry sleep and something tugs at her heart.
because claire is 19 and under no obligation to become this child's parent figure but she holds sherry's hand everywhere they go and lets her twirl a strand of her hair while falling asleep as a way to calm down and feel safe. and she can't lie, but she's starting to understand how fucking hard it must have been for chris to raise her - at least sherry doesn't make her life difficult by being unnecessarily defiant.
no, sherry always sits quietly and asks questions only when claire explains the plans for their next moves. and claire knows it's not the way a child should act but also it's not like she and leon have any other choices, they don't know what they're doing either. and they probably argue in whispers while claire cleans the wound on his shoulder, they talk about food and finding a car, that even motels are getting expensive for their little budget.
they talk about chris and how it's november and claire is still pretending not to know what her brother's note actually means. and there's an heaviness and the sense of something bad happening as soon as she's out the door - promised sherry that she would come back and kissed leon goodbye just to come back to everything absolutely destroyed.
do not ask her if it was worth. ( she did find chris in the end and steve was dear to her, but the resentment and guilt are always there even now )
#making myself cry at 1am#claire going through the stages of grief finding out that two of the people she cares the most for have basically lost their freedom#and she's spared but doesn't really understand how and why just knows that she can't waste it on crying her eyes out#she just can't waste her life like that it has to mean something otherwise what's the point#claire joining terrasave to make sure no kid ever goes through what sherry ( and i'd say steve too ) went through is so important to me

american healthcare by penelope scott but make it leon s. kennedy.
verse 1, "when i was seven years old i saw a dead man in the road..." could relate to the early loss of his parents and leon's first experience with a police officer. plenty of children are exposed to violence at an early age, and leon is no exception. this experience desensitized him to violence and to cope with it he focused on the positive experience he had with that cop, and decided he wanted to be an officer in order to help people.
he helped claire, sherry, ashley, etc. there's actually kind of a pattern of him "saving" female characters and kind of affirming his own masculinity by doing so. this makes his interactions with ada and luis very interesting, the former of course being a woman that doesnt need his saving and the latter being a man that desperately needs his saving. but thats a conversation for another time.
and in the chorus of the song, "you corporate fucking prick, i did not become a doctor just to suck the devil's dick" relates to him a lot. because leon s kennedy sucks a lot of d---he has a lot of experiences with "corporate overlords", like simmons. but also this doesn't just apply to specific individuals. leon is in law enforcement because he wants to protect people. he was a police officer because he wanted to protect people, he is an agent because he wants to protect as many people around the world in the long run optimally in the most efficient way. but he consistently runs into the problem that his job as a police officer is not to protect people. its to protect private property. his job as an agent is not to protect people. its to protect corporate interests. he's in the wrong job.
i really hope we see leon be a firefighter or an emt some day. like, obviously hes a little old and definitely traumatized enough, but those are occupations where your job literally is just to help people, not keep corporate interests in mind.
and in verse 2 "I asked the right questions, i never even really got bored" relates to him really well too. leon quite easily slipped into his role as "right hand man", never wondering or asking just what exactly left hand was up to. because truthfully, he didn't want to know. he preferred the comfort that came with not knowing.
or in verse 3, "it trickled into both my ears, it got louder over the years, until all that i could hear were fuckin' flies" probably relates to leon the most out of any line from this song. it perfectly represents how incredibly corrupted leon has become. it's also worth mentioning how resident evil viruses do sometimes take the form of insects. you could kind of look at it like a direct parallel between government corruption and the viruses he's fighting. they're both equally parasitic, infectious, and harmful. i imagine sometimes leon just wishes he'd be infected finally, because it's better than this torturous process of corruption. in the pre chorus, she says "sometimes it's like they'd rather die" and i think sometimes it's like he'd rather die.
it's such a great song about american capitalism and how easily it can corrupt people's naive hopes and dreams of helping people. because leon s kennedy... has been corrupted. time and time again throughout the RE franchise we see commanding officers from private corporations, governments, law enforcement, etcetera being revealed as evil and every time... the main characters just kill the guy and get back to work. they never stop and consider... maybe it's not about just one guy. maybe its not about just this one individual that happened to be evil. maybe something made him evil... maybe something allowed him to be evil... and maybe its the exact same thing that i work for... or something like that idk lolllllll.
i really hope we see leon kind of "break the cycle" and have the kinds of realizations that are in this song because like... BITCH... that stupid little boy is lucky hes so pretty!!!
also im really sorry for derailing a song about a womans experience in academia and social services under capitalism and stuff to be about this white boy in the CIA... i hope this little analysis doesnt detract from the actual song. cause like... its a great song and we dont need to make it about leon stupid little bitch kennedy for it to be good.

Mildly high in the bathtub and feeling rambly.. I know from my blog/ao3 it seems like I'm one of the people that's deeply invested in RE men and ignores the girls, but I do love Claire so fucking much, probably not as much as I love Luis but more than I love Leon to be completely honest. It's just that I don't like her in the situations I like to write about. Hurt/comfort, angst with a happy ending, that's been my jam as long as I've been in fandom spaces. And I just don't enjoy the thought of Claire in situations like that. I love inserting Luis into as many fucked up scenarios as possible. I play other RE games he's not in and think "what if Luis was here and got traumatized more haha" but I don't do that in games without Claire because I prefer to think she's fine and thriving and not getting into fucked up scenarios. I play Darkside chronicles and Revelations 2 and love Claire so much but when i get to the end of the game the book closes for me, like "damn poor Claire went through a lot of shit, she deserves a good break" I'm not brainstorming ways to further torment her like I do with Leon and luis, i want her happy. But I also don't like writing happy fluff, again I've been mega into angst as long as I've been writing, and I've never enjoyed domestic fluff really. I only do fluff as the payoff for a bunch of angst. I have vague fluffy thoughts for hwo Claire's nice life could be unfolding, but they aren't thoughts i feel i need to flesh out and write down. And if i tried to write them, I'd be bored to death by the lack of angst and drama
And I know I've written Serrennedy fluff where they're okay and thriving so I should be able to do the same with Claire but it's very specific fluff with those two. It's them being parents because of all my daddy issues and trauma, I don't write fluff of them unless kids are involved. And I also don't see Claire as a parent. Like maybe to Sherry but that's special. (And i mean I usually imagine Leon as the one being Sherry's parent anyway) I've been struggling with the next chapter of wakin' up blind with the house on fire for a very long time and finally realized recently it's because something about it didn't feel quite right, a conversation where Claire tells Leon she's been thinking about having a kid too. Like it's sweet and appeals to my "almost every relative I have is either dead or shitty" trauma because it's claire saying she still sees leon as a brother and their kids will be like cousins, but it just doesnt feel right, I think she's makes more sense as the cool childfree aunt
Idk how to conclude this. Just. I enjoy women escaping traumatizing situations forever and being happy and like to actively put traumatized men through more trauma ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (i focused on claire bc she's my number 1 blorbo but i am fond of most of the other girls too and just don't do things focusing heavily on them for similar reasons. Especially rebecca after umbrella chronicles i was like actually i hope to god she isnt in another mainline game any time soon bc i do not want to see her suffer more girl's been through enoigh 😭 and while claire has also been thru enough and deserves a rest i want to see her in a mainline game again because I think it's really hot when she lifts heavy things and shoves heavy things and beats people up sorry)
#and i wish that i could bridge the gap and make more gif sets w claire/other gals so theyre more represented on my blog#but i play revelations 1 on my 3ds and rev2 on my switch so it literally isnt possible for me to screen record them. and since when i play#mainline re games its only once in a blue moon when my sibling lets me borrow their computer i have to prioritize what i want to do#and usually that means mostly luis stuff bc i can put him in fucked up situations. and then w the chronicles games the whole 1st person on#rails thing makes gif sets hard so while i have plans to make a few gif sets w the girls it still isnt as much content as i have for luis in#the pipeline.#also i dont like sexualizing the female characters as much. throw leon and luis into slutty outfits and silly animations and poses and im#there. very amused. but i don't like that w girls. as hot as claires rev2 cowgirl outfit is i don't like playing w it on. it feels wrong#also i guess i kinda fortot but i actually do write for annette a fair amount. most of it isn't posted but it exists#bc she can be a messy bitch and she gets killed off so my angst loving brain can do things w her i can't w claire

The Times We Were Together: Chapter 2
Series Title: The Times We Were Together
Series Summary: After the Raccoon City incident, Claire, Sherry and Leon start living together, where they share many memories and moments with each other.
Chapter Title: "Closer To Normal"
Rating: T
Words: 2,664
Warnings: None, mentions of alcohol in the middle of the chapter
Much to the relief of everyone, the two hour car ride to Chris's house was a mostly smooth and easy one. Claire had insisted on driving over Leon, saying that he "drives too fast", to which the man in question had a few words denying this claim.
After nearly getting lost more than a few times due to Leon's shocking inability to read a road map, and a few "are we there yet's?" from Sherry in the back seat, the trio finally arrived.
"You sure this is the place?", Leon asked.
Claire nodded confidently, "No doubt about it. I know my childhood home when I see it"
The house was a decent size, albeit a little big for just one or two people, which explained the fact that it was Chris and Claire's "childhood home".
"Whoa! This place is amazing!", Sherry exclaimed in awe.
"You should see the inside!", Claire replied.
The excited child ran up to the door and knocked politely with zero hesitation.
"Wait for us, Sherry!", Claire laughed, grabbing Leon by the hand.
The young man was shocked by this gesture, his eyes fixated on her small, soft hands, only slightly calloused from the day before.
As Claire and Leon reached the front steps, the door opened, revealing a tall, burly man with short, dark brown hair and a serious, almost intimidating expression plastered onto his face. He also looked to be at least a few years older than Claire and Leon.
"Claire", The man nods.
There's now a sight softness in his expression, "I'm glad you're safe"
"It's good to see you again, Chris", Claire smiles fondly at her brother.
Chris clears his throat, now looking down at Claire's left hand, which still held Leon's right hand loosely.
A few seconds pass before Claire notices and lets go, "Oh! Um..."
"This is Sherry", She says, gesturing her hands towards the beaming girl in front of him.
"It's very nice to meet you, Sherry", Chris smiles, bending over to shake her hand.
"So...You're Claire's...?"
"Older brother? That would be me. I'm sure she told you all sorts of embarrassing stories already", Chris joked.
Sherry giggles, "Only a few..."
"Is that so, hm?", The man was now standing up straight, locking eyes with Leon.
"Who's the guy, Claire?"
Claire was slightly hesitant. Chris tended to be a little overprotective of Claire whenever there was a guy involved, at least that's what she'd learned from bringing home her old boyfriends from high school.
Leon, however, was just a friend.
"This is Leon. He was a big help to us yesterday", she said.
"Big help, huh?", Chris's eyes were still fixated on Leon, whose expression showed a slight tinge of panic, though he was trying hard to hide it.
There was an awkward silence before Chris spoke again, "Why don't you all come inside, it's a bit chilly out there"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walking into the house gave off the impression that the Redfield's seemed to be rather well-off financially, but also felt as if it were stuck in the 1980s, as most of the old furniture and belongings appeared to be intact from when their parents were still around.
"Make yourselves at home. The bedrooms are all set up for whenever you're ready to put your things away"
"Ooh! after we settle in, can you show me your old bedroom, Claire?", Sherry asked.
"Of course! C'mon, lets go put our stuff away", Claire replied, rushing up the stairs with the little girl behind her.
Chris laughed, "Look at those two, huh?"
Leon didn't realize he had been talking to him until he noticed him staring him down again, "U-Uh, yeah. Sherry follows her around like a baby chick. Cute, isn't it?"
Chris nods, "So, I have to ask..."
Leon gulped nervously.
"Are you and Claire together? Like a couple?"
"Ah- No, We're just friends, we only met a little over a day ago actually...", Leon blushed and itched at the back of his neck awkwardly, a habit of his for whenever he felt embarrassed.
"Oh...", Chris tried not to smirk.
"I guess I was wrong then", he continued, turning in the direction towards the kitchen area.
"Can I get you something to drink, Leon?"
"Sure, what've you got?"
"I've got tons of stuff in here", Chris says peering into the refrigerator.
"Water, Soda...Alcohol...", he begins listing off items.
Leon thought he probably could have used an alcoholic drink after the events of yesterday, "What have you got for alcohol?"
...
Chris and Leon sat on the couch in the living room, a can of beer for each of them.
"I probably should have asked this beforehand, but you're old enough to drink right?", Chris asked, switching on the TV.
"Yeah. I turned twenty-one this year actually, why?"
"Just making sure. Don't take this the wrong way, but you've got a bit of a baby face"
Leon chuckled, taking a sip of the can, "I didn't think I looked that young"
The two then began to watch a few seconds of the bad sitcom that was on:
"Honey, there's someone at the door", a woman calls out
An uninterested man reading a newspaper answers, "Oh yeah, who is it?"
"A donation collector. Says he needs a donation for a community swimming pool"
"Give him a glass of water", he deadpans
A laugh track follows
"So, Claire tells me you're a cop too?", Leon speaks again.
Chris laughs, "She told you that? Sort of, not really though"
"I currently work for S.T.A.R.S, though I'm not really sure what's gonna happen now that Raccoon City is...well, you know. Me and the rest of the team were ordered to get out of there as soon as we could"
Leon sighs, "Yeah"
"But, uh, S.T.A.R.S, right? That's some pretty intense stuff"
"It can be, yes...but what about you? You said you were a cop, right?", Chris asked, changing the subject slightly.
"Yes...but only for a day...", Leon replies.
Chris nearly choked on his sip of beer, "Wait? You mean this was all on your first day?!"
"Yep"
"Man...I could never imagine"
The sound of quick footsteps rushed down the staircase and continued until reaching the living room area.
"Hey, guys", Claire smiled, slightly out of breath.
"I see you two have already bonded"
Chris smiled back at her, then looked back at Leon, "I suppose we have"
"Where's Sherry?", Leon noticed that she wasn't with her.
"Still upstairs", she answered.
"Who knew she'd be so fascinated with my old stuff. Makes me wonder if her parents ever let her even have those types of things..."
"I kinda doubt it", he added.
"So...", Claire sat herself down on the end of the couch opposite of the two men.
"What did you guys want to do for dinner tonight?"
"Oh, Is it that time, already?", Leon asked.
Chris looked over at the digital clock that sat below the TV, "It's about 5:30"
"I dunno about everyone else, but I'm pretty hungry", Claire said.
After Claire mentioned it, Leon realized that he too was a bit hungry, "Hmm, I guess I could eat"
"Why don't I check the fridge", Claire got up and made her way to the kitchen, which was connected to the living room.
However when she opened the fridge, she only shook her head, "Seriously, Chris?"
"What?", The man questioned.
"All you have in here is beer, soda, water, some cheese and an old apple"
"I'm sure all the starving children in the world would love to eat that, Claire", he joked.
Claire rolled her eyes playfully, "Okay, Mom"
"In all seriousness though, we can't make a single thing with any of this"
"Guess we have to order pizza then", Chris shrugged his shoulders.
She thought for a moment before promptly shutting the fridge, "Actually, that's not a bad idea"
"Give me one moment", she strutted briskly back towards the bottom of the stairs.
"Sherry!"
A faint "Yeah?" could be heard from upstairs.
"Come down for a sec, we're gonna order pizza!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
After ordering the pizza, the four of them sat on the couch in the living room, half-watching the TV show that was still on in the background and half-staring at the wall.
"So...what are we gonna do while we wait?", Sherry asked.
Claire made a face as if she were thinking, "We used to have some board games around here somewhere, though I think we moved most of them into the basement"
"I'll go look", Chris said, getting up from his seat and heading down into the basement.
...
A little over five minutes passed and Chris still wasn't back.
"Your basement can't be that big, right?", Leon joked.
Claire shrugged her shoulders, "It really isn't. I don't know what's taking him so long"
Finally, there was the sound of someone coming back up the wooden basement steps, which brought back everyone's attention.
"Find something?", she called out.
"Yes. Though its not a board game, it's a different kind of game" Chris answered.
The three of them peered over the wall that blocked off the view of the basement door. There was Chris, not holding a board game, but holding what looked to be some sort of device.
"What's that?", Sherry asked.
"This", he began.
"Is a video game console"
"So cool! I've always wanted one of those!", she wowed.
"When did you get that?", Claire asked.
"Someone I used to know from the Air Force gave it to me a year or two back", he said.
"Never really used it, but I was given a game for it and a few controllers"
Chris pulled out a chunky cartridge that had been stuffed in his shirt pocket, revealing the game to be a popular mascot kart-racing game.
"Anyone here up for a few races?"
...
"What?! How did you manage to get into first already?!", Leon shrieked playfully.
Claire smirked, "I think you harshly underestimate my kart-driving skills"
"Alright, well...Take this!", he replied.
Because there were only two controllers, the four of them took turns playing against each other. While Leon and Claire were going all out against each other in a race, Chris and Sherry watched the drama unfold.
"I think Claire is definitely gonna win", Sherry predicted.
Chris somehow knew what was about to go down, "Hmm, I'm not so sure about that. Watch what's about to happen..."
The two of them watched on the screen as a spiky blue shell popped up over the head of Claire's character, who was about to cross the finish line, and quickly spun themselves out in mid-air.
"Ha! Gotcha!", Leon cheered.
"Hey! That's so unfair!", Claire watched as her character's place ranking dropped down all the way from first to fifth.
In the end, Leon's character ended up placing just one spot ahead of her, though he still won fair and square against her.
"Alright, you against Sherry, then I want a rematch on rainbow road", As soon as Claire said this, however, there was a knock at the front door.
"I think that's the pizza", Chris said, getting up from the couch.
"Ooh! I'll come too!", Sherry insisted, following him to the door.
Claire stood up in front of Leon and pointed a finger at him, "This isn't over yet!"
"Oh really? I'm almost positive I beat you that round", he laughed, raising an eyebrow.
She was sitting down next to him on the floor now.
"Don't be so cocky!", she teased, playfully shoving his shoulder.
Claire had shoved Leon harder than she meant to, knocking him over onto his back.
"Oops! Sorry. Here, let me help yo-", As she was getting up to help him, she tripped on one of the controllers still on the floor, falling directly on top of him.
"Hey, so I was thinking we could eat in here instead of-"
In the midst of this rather awkward moment, Chris and Sherry happened to walk into the living room with the pizza.
Chris stopped as he noticed the two frozen in place, staring at him, "Uhh, am I interrupting something?"
"Yeah, why are you guys on the ground?", Sherry asked with a tinge of innocent confusion in her voice.
Leon's blue eyes were widened with anxiety, "We-uh.."
"I tripped and fell, heh...", Claire chuckled awkwardly, though still telling the truth.
There was a long, very awkward silence before Chris replied, "...Okay"
"We're gonna go put these in the kitchen", he turned away, gesturing Sherry to follow him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dinner was long and awkward, which was unfortunate due to the fact that the group had been looking forward to having pizza that evening. Claire was the first to leave the table, stating that she "didn't feel well" and that she was "going upstairs for a bit".
Leon, on the other hand, who watched as she uncomfortably made her way up the stairs, worried that he had done something wrong. Perhaps he had teased her too much? That wouldn't have been likely, Claire seemed to be the type to have thick skin, or at least she had proven herself to be that way.
Without saying a word, he abruptly left the table not even a minute later.
"Leon? Where are you going?", Sherry questioned him.
"Upstairs. I'll be right back", he replied bluntly.
"Why is everyone so upset?", Sherry piped up softly once the man was out of earshot.
"Nobody's upset", Chris reassured her.
"I assume Claire and Leon just have some things to sort out"
"Like what?", she asked.
Chris shook his head and smiled at her, "Don't worry about it"
...
Claire sat silently on her bed, glancing around the room at her old posters and pictures from when she was younger. However, the thoughts in her mind couldn't be any louder.
She couldn't seem to stop thinking about Leon and how she felt about him. She wished the thoughts would go away, but every time he looked at her, smiled, laughed, or even spoke to her, they only kept coming back.
The thoughts couldn't help but make her feel like some lovesick teenager. Sure she'd had a few guys she liked back in school, but something about this felt different. It couldn't be a crush though, could it? No, no matter what, Leon and her could only be friends. Besides, a guy with his looks probably wasn't single either, right?
All of this made Claire's head spin and her stomach tie itself in knots.
Suddenly, a gentle knock on her door startled her out of her thoughts.
"Who is it?", she called out.
"It's me, Leon. I just wanted to make sure you were alright", his voice was muffled by the closed door.
"I'm fine. You can come in if you want"
The wooden door opened with a creak.
"Hey...You okay?", he asked gently, walking into her room.
"Yeah, I'm alright"
"I think I just had too much pizza", she lied.
He sat on the bed next to her and exhaled through his nose, "If this is about earlier, I'm really sorry"
"No, I'm sorry. I'm the one who landed on top of you after all", she laughed.
"It's fine, really. Even if it um, lead to some misunderstandings, I don't mind", he replied, clearing his throat.
"Right", she sighed out of relief.
The two stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds, Leon starting to unconsciously move his hand toward Claire's slowly.
"Hey, guys!", Sherry called from downstairs.
"Yeah?", they both answered in unison.
"We're gonna watch a movie if you wanna join!"
"Why don't we go back downstairs", Leon said, gesturing his head toward the now-open door.
Claire nodded, "Sure. Lets go"
As the three of them settled well into Chris's house that evening, the thoughts of Raccoon City didn't seem to be the only things still fresh in their minds, but at least things were now closer to normal than they had been before.

VAMPIRE HUNTER AU 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🛐🛐🛐
YES THANK YOU okay ill give you a messy summary. So in my vampire au, LEON is the vampire bc there's no way in hell Luis's catholic ass would ever live w himself as a vampire lol (before Leon at least). plus it adds angst if Luis was a vampire hunter in the past before hunting vampires was outlawed. Luis helped make a virus that only targeted vampires and caused thousands of them to become Undead and be especially susceptible to elements/die easily. Leon's life was upended by this and while he didn't die, he lost other vampire friends (Marvin, his entire coven, etc), lost custody of his daughter Sherry, lost contact with Claire, etc. More angst. Luis and Leon fall in love and get into that codependency state where Luis is BEGGING Leon to bite him and make him immortal too so they can live together forever, but Leon doesn't want to doom Luis to eternity (Leon has been alive for centuries and he's had to watch people he loves die including his parents, he was turned into a vampire against his will [vampire coven killed his parents and turned him] so he doesn't want that fate for anyone) so there's a misunderstanding where Luis just thinks Leon doesn't actually want him in his life forever and that's why he refuses to turn Luis. Leon being like "I'm worried you'll regret it and I'll lose you" and Luis being like "I am ready to commit my life to you, so if you're not going to do the same for me then you'll lose me much sooner". He just asks Leon to promise that SOMEDAY he'll turn Luis but Leon can't even promise that so Luis leaves. He can't stay away forever and when he returns (probably only like. Less than 2 months later at most lol this isn't my breakup fic) Leon is more than willing to turn him finally because he just cannot be without Luis. The lifetime of a human is a blink of the eye for Leon's lifetime, a few months means nothing to someone who has lived hundreds of years; and yet, going even those several weeks without Luis was the most devastating and unbearable amount of time Leon has ever faced in his life. He never knew what his life was missing until they met and now he can't have a life without Luis, he just can't do it. He was so caught up in playing the good guy for Luis, refusing to bite him and doom him to immortality, but also so aware that he cannot exist without Luis, he was going to die right alongside Luis's mortal body, he would've followed Luis to death. And Luis is like you fucking idiot dumbass bitch I WANT TO BE IMMORTAL WITH YOU. So eventually Leon bites him and they live together happily forever. Ashley is Leon's adopted sister, he found her after a nasty vampire coven turned her and left her for dead and he took her in. Ada isn't a vampire initially cause she's perfectly satisfied with her mortal life, but she does get bit later and has to come to terms with that, but hey at least the family stays together. Oh and I'm using D&D rules so Leon isn't a full vampire he's a vampire spawn, so he can't turn anyone else into a vampire he can just make drudges so that's what Luis (consensually) becomes.

i know this is off topic from the rest of your asks but something that bothers me about interpretation of sherry and leon (and sherry and claire) is how rigidly nuclear the dynamic between them is and how that probably hurts them. i can't belive I have to say this, but not every pair between a child and adult has to be daddy-daughter. characters don't have to be within two years of age difference to be considered siblings. as someone who has a somewhat large sibling gap (sibling turned 18 when I was 11) I don't like how empty the interpretation of leon's responsibility towards sherry is. legally, he could adopt her to protect her, but emotionally he wasn't ready to be a full father, especially to a child who, in some interpretations, has never had a normal family. there could have been something said about how much leon wants to take care of her, despite only knowing how to guide her somewhat as a peer, and how sherry was willing to take any adult in the place of her parents. it would have also opened the door for sherry to have her own struggle with trying to protect leon as she gets older (younger sibling guilt).
but no. Stoic Father Man must rear Delicate Girl Child.
sorry for the rant
i... don't think anyone was asking for/expecting leon to be a full father responsible for raising sherry and helping her with her homework and shit. and if they are, they're stupid.
leon legally adopting sherry would've just been a protective measure for her, because certain decisions about her life/what happens to her would've had to have gone through him. he was only the one in position to do that -- not claire or anyone else. but that's not what he did. he just surrendered sherry to the government and then trusted (for some reason) that they'd do the Right Thing with her if he kept his end of the bargain, and he didn't even have the good graces to go see her again at any point after that. he literally disappeared from her life. claire, at least, fucking visited her from time to time.
and the reason why this sticks out as a point of contention is because leon was so insistent on taking responsibility for her in the first place -- to the point where he actively pushed claire away. claire wasn't wholly comfortable with just leaving the two of them injured on the side of the road, but it was leon's assurances that he'd be able to take care of things that convinced her to go.
and then he almost immediately bungled it. and he never once tried to make up for it or right the wrong.
it would've been one thing if claire had just been like "lmao ok im gonna go find chris now, peace" and just saddled leon with sherry and fucked off, but that's not what happened. it was his fucking idea in the first place. and he shouldn't have put himself in a position to be sherry's caretaker if he was unwilling to or incapable of taking care of her to begin with.
like, no one reasonably expects leon to be An Actual Father for sherry. but they, at the very least, expected him to be the chris to sherry's claire (since chris was, more likely than not, claire's legal guardian at one point, too) because that was literally what he volunteered to do, but then just... didn't.
