Yayyy I finally finished this one! After so much time since their dance chibi animation...

Anyway... in my twst! lore Cinderella got a loving family, an overprotective stepfather, two little stepsisters a bit jealous but very supportive if anyone badmouth their step big sister!

Let's go much more deeper...

Actually my lore is based on the novel of the Disney!Villain counterpart (Disney multiverse helloooo).

Cinderella lost her parents ruined by some shady traffic, and before the tragic Trein's wife death, she asked him to adopt the daughter of one of her dear childhood friend.

In memory of his wife he adopted the little girl, but gave her cold treatment as she would be unaffectionate and being also cold toward her new family. But he still cared for her and treats her very well.

Unfortunately since little Cinderella got adopted, the shady person who ruined her parents did the same to her stepfamily (money legacy testament hello!!!). They went bankrupt and outcast quickly and feeling deeply sorry for them and also responsable, Cinderella decided to take care of her step family and their house.

They grew up as a strange but loving family, until Cinderella's fairy godmommy stepped in (fairy being a fairy she was late like...8 years late...), Trein refused to let her stepdaughter with an unknow fairy godmother, and the fairy stated that a grumpy man isolating his daughters is no noo nooooo good either!

Eventually the fairy told them about the ball, the prince and so on, and.....chaos wreck among the house, with fangirls screams and running around the table!

Trein refused to let everyone go to the ball since it's dangerous (also being a bit scarred to finally noticed his daughters all grown up) and threw out the fairy with Lucius help.

But seeing the opportunity to go outside, and gathering infos about the shady persons, Cinderella went to the ball with her fairy godmommy's help and Cinderella's story started.

Noticing Cinderella's missing, Trein and his daughters went to the ball to get her back and she greets them while exciting (her stepsisters being half jealous half happy to have her back// Trein suffocating between their hug crush but happy to got her step daughter back)

Bla bla bla Cinderella Disney!story with the shady persons in jail (epic detective story she got her legacy back and bring back Trein's lost reputation). Unfortunatly Trein rejected his stepdaughter as she left them to got married.... breaking both their heart.... As her stepfather left her without any kind words and Trein not wanted to see his daughters leaving...

They eventually reconciliate later as she gave birth to her first child, and so first Trein's grandchildren.

Been catching up on Frasier; and I've been meaning to drop in here and tell you my thoughts on each episode but I get sucked in and lose track of details because I have to watch more more more but Niles just proposed to Daphne while Frasier was clearing the room and tackling the trumpeter and carrying the chef and what it was SO, SO GOOD. (And Frasier being worried he's one year older because his parents married after his mom got pregnant; and Niles already knowing-- both excellent twists.)

Season 9's really been putting out great, great episodes. ...Y'know what? I'll look up IMDb and put some quick thoughts down here because why not???

Don Juan from Hell part 1 and 2: it's been so long since I've seen these two, but I remember really, really enjoying them.

The First Temptation of Daphne Moon-- an intriguing glimpse into Daphne's insecurities and Niles's staunch ethics. It's good to see how they handle rocky moments in their relationship, too.

The Return of Martin Crane-- LOVED THIS ONE. It's so good, every part. (His memories, and the juxtaposition of Niles-- with more hair-- in the past and Niles in the present; and how miserable they all were then and how happy they all are now; and the kiss at the end. Perfection!)

Love Stinks-- I had fun with this one. (Frasier owning up to his snobbery, lol.) Though I don't know if Roger and Roz will last (well, I know they won't; but I don't know if I truly buy into their relationship.) Poor Roz, she keeps trying.

Room Full of Heroes-- again, Marty's speech at the end grabs me. Marty's my favorite, I must own; and that's been growing as the seasons progress. (Niles is second; and I adore their scenes together.)

Bla-Z-Boy-- the CHAIR being accidentally tossed out the window, WOW. Hilarious. XDDDDDD

The Two Hundredth-- I... feel called out. XDDD But, to be fair, at least I'm an archivist, not a sycophant, by nature. ;)))))

Sharing Kirby-- Tisk Tisk Tisk, those Crane boys always shoot themselves in the foot with their greed. Kirby's sloooooowly growing on me. Kenny keeps sinking in my estimation, though-- his comedy doesn't really hit this season, for me.

Junior Agent-- BEBE!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely killer scene, every single one she's in. And her shark replacement is gonna be fun if the writers use her well (I thought the same of Kenny, at first.)

Bully for Martin-- again, loved this episode. The comedy was top-notch all the way through; and it's good to see Marty back on his feet. (and talking, but not complaining, about the challenges of a new hierarchy.)

Mother Load, Part 1 and 2-- It's fascinating to watch how much Niles has grown, and how his growth then highlights (in a good way) how much Daphne still has to go. It makes both of them human. :DDDDD And I liked how the ep. paused to give each main and side character as much depth as possible.

Juvenilia-- This was actually fun; and I love how Roz was sick and tired of Frasier's preening routine at the beginning. Those kids were sharks, man; but they're gonna get far. Kirby's growing on me.

The Proposal-- sweet all the way through. Marty and Niles were standouts, but I'm biased. ;)))) And Marty's excuse to Daphne's mom, and Daphne arriving sick, and Frasier interfering then saving the day by getting all the staff out, and Niles being interrupted from his question by Daphne honking her nose-- hiiiiiiiiiilarious.

Having so much fun! :DDDDDDDD

So happy you're still having fun watching the show! You still have two seasons to go 😁 season 9 definitely has some great episodes. I must admit though that I find Kirby pretty annoying.

Still, Bla-Z-Boy is super funny and I also really love The Return of Martin Crane. The proposal was so cute! He had planned this huge thing and in the end they didn't need any of it. Great season. Much better than season 8 😅

Previous anon here again, I just wanted to clarify in response to your answer: I totally agree with the over exaggerated edits of supposedly Jungkook being jealous of the members, most of them are bs (maybe except for a very few instances with Namjoon?). I was thinking of a few moments that do seem legit to me and as you said especially the ones with people outside of the band. I was also thinking of the moments with Taemin, though I still wonder if Jungkook was jealous of him or if he just didn’t like him for whatever reason (which is a shame cause I love Taemin!!) I think in the past Jungkook had a tendency of being a bit possessive, which seems quite normal to me, he was really young and probably insecure, it happens. Ha anyway, he has grown a lot though.

Oh for sure JK had a huge issue with Taemin. Huge. Don't people believe the manilla fight may have had something to do with Taemin? My friends i think that Jimin may have had to practise on JK's birthday and the latter wasn't having it. Like its the only thing we can think of because, Jikook were fine during the day celebrating. So what happened overnight so that the next morning at the airport they couldn't even look at or be next to eo?? How can things go wrong in such a short amount of time? Jimin has been there for all of JK's birthdays. But this one night he couldn't so maybe JK felt some type of way?? Who knows. But it make sense. Either way you've seen the way Taemin looks at Jimin. Thinking that Sandor & Sansa and Theon & Jeyne are some of my favorite relationships in ASOIAF and maybe it's because they both are built on the same core dynamic of like: this man who was brutalized and dehumanized by the violent system sees this new girl become the next victim; this man thinks they're hopelessly integrated into this system of violence, but ends up finding their humanity through their relationships with this girl.

Ignoring the obvious differences in how these pan out, I'm also thinking that it's interesting that Sandor is integrated into this system as a verily male perpetrator, and Theon as an unmanned victim, and that for Sandor (so far!) this recovery of humanity/identity was disastrous, but for Theon it was glorious...

This is part of the reason why I roll my eyes when I see commentary putting way too much emphasis on Sansa's role as some sort of reminder to Sandor of his sister... It would make sense, it's a good headcanon, will be perfectly sensible if it comes up in the books later -- but in the text we have, it's pretty clear the person Sandor is seeing in Sansa is himself. A hundred posts about how problematic and inappropriate it is for a grown man to have this sort of bond with a young girl bla bla bla whatever, it is what it is, and it's very touching imo. I like that he keeps trying to shift their dynamic into the horror that he learned to be true: he'll be the butcher and she'll be the meat, he'll be the kingsguard and she'll be the kingsbride, he'll be the hunting dog and she'll be the ornamental bird, he'll be the rapist and she'll be the raped, but it just doesn't work. He can't do it to her like it was done to him. He keeps slipping out of cynicism, or letting sincerity bleed through. This happens to Theon on a smaller level because the dynamic he's trying to enforce with Jeyne is essentially different; they're in similar positions as victims and nor perpetrators. Still, be it by masculinity or by emasculation, both Sandor and Theon were made into their owner's dog, then were faced with the victimization of a young girl, and found out that -- to their delight or to their chagrin -- they were still human, after all.

Took me a while, but I've got it... Also I'm tagging @ejunkiet for punching my heart with that last SH/Milo fic. BLAM! Take that! So, for Colm, powdered sugar on Marie's nose from the cannolis at the bakery, love at may-as-well-be-first sight, bla bla bla: he knew then. For Marie, it took longer, but she remembers the moment she knew:

She ran out of the house, not caring about the cold rain, not caring that she didn't have a jacket. She just couldn't hear the yelling anymore. The insults. The cursing. The slamming of doors. She ran out to the front step, sat down, covered her ears to block the sound, and sat there, chilled and alone until the discomfort of her wet clothes and the pounding raindrops on her face overcame the strife within and she felt more wet than she did anxious. She didn't see Colm pull up to the house. He sometimes took detours when he was out, just to visit her street. They had only been on three dates, but he just liked to know she was okay, and even if he couldn't tell, the sight of her house just made him smile. But that day, he parked, got out, walked calmly up to the front step, quickly getting as soaked and cold as Marie was, and stood in front of her until she tipped her face up at his.

The bass from a Cole Porter song blasted through the door (Marie had never noticed the bass from Cole Porter before but the stereo had managed to amplify it), followed by a stream of curses. "Goddam it! How do you work this fucking--? Oh for Pete's sake. Damn stupid--- Where's the blasted volume button? Ahhh...there." Soon after, the door opened. Marie was taken aback. An elderly, female version of Colm, glasses and all, was staring back at her. But she was much more effusive than Marie had ever seen Colm. "Ohhhh, my Colmy, you came for a visit! Oh, you're soaked! But I don't care!" The old shifter practically turned to liquid form as she poured herself into a hug and enveloped Colm. He kissed her gently on the cheek and said, "I brought someone to see you." Within minutes, Colm's grandmother had gotten warm, lavender-scented towels and dried them both off.

Herself. She took a fresh towel to Colm first, pressing it to his face and neck and then tossing it playfully in his face and saying, "Okay. You're a grown man now. You finish it." As Colm rubbed his hair dry, his grandmother took Marie by the hand, sat her at the kitchen table and gently took a corner of the towel to her eyes. "You've made my grandson very happy, you know?" "Grandma!" "She should know! You should tell her these things." "He does," Marie said softly, as the kind older shifter wiped away her dripping mascara and draped the towel around her shoulders. "You look like you've had a hard day." Marie nodded. "How about some tea?" Colm's grandma kissed Marie on the cheek and then went to work putting the kettle on. Colm sat beside his girlfriend at the plastic-covered kitchen table and held her hand, rubbing her knuckles gently with his thumb. "You okay?" he mouthed silently. And Marie decided in her heart right then that she would spend the rest of her life with this man.

Okay. It’s been 2 days since The Last Kingdom wrapped up with its movie. So, I have had time to ponder, and cry, and think, and be in denial, but I think it’s time I share what that show has done for me and how it may have changed my life.

All right, so picture this, I am scrolling on Tumblr on my desktop bored out of my mind, not writing, in fact I think at this point I hadn’t written anything in months. And then suddenly there’s this gif set.

I can’t tell you which person I follows that posted it but I do remember my first reaction: Is that Francis from Reign?

And I was right. It was a gif set of Aethelflaed and Aethelred’s wedding. I was mildly interested but kept scrolling. And then came another gif set; same wedding but this one had Finan and Aethelwold.

I did not know the characters names then but I did know that 1. Aethelwold called Finan an Irishman and I really do have a soft spot for guys with accents and 2. Finan saying ‘I’ll kill ya in your sleep’ had exactly no business being that sexy.

That gif set made me write down the name of the show ‘The Last Kingdom’ into my notebook of tv shows/crime documentaries to watch.

BUT

I did not watch it until later… You guessed it lockdown from COVID. I had so much time, so I binged the series.

And waited all through season 1 for Finan, he didn’t show and man, not going to lie, Uhtred was not making the best decisions. I almost quit the show… but I had a goal: sexy Irishman.

(I’m halfway joking about that…)

When I did reach season 2 and Finan, I found I had fallen for other characters; Ragnar, Hild, Leofric, Beocca, hell even Alfred was all right. But season 2 also brought Thyra, Sihtric, Gisela, and Osferth.

I loved the whole found family dynamic. And it helped a tiny bit that a lot of the actors were fairly good looking.

But I don’t think I actually fell in love with the show until season 3.

I know, all of you are like ‘we get it. Season 3 Finan was sexy, you have mentioned it before’ and I have. But honestly, look at him:

But it was more than just Finan looking sexy, (all my friends are like ‘you’re lying’) it was the Coccham Squad as a whole. They had grown closer and tighter. The storyline for season 3 was the perfect balance of heartbreak and triumph for me. Finan was a smartass, always saying what I was thinking. Sihtric had his spy moment and fake turn. Osferth was sweet and caring. And Uhtred, surprisingly he had grown as a character, unsurprisingly he was still making stupid decisions.

But this season is my fave for more than that. This season, it got that writing spark going again.

And as I moved onto season 4, that spark became a flame.

So I wrote like 600 pages, no chapter breaks, one doc per season of this idea I had. And I told myself that would be it. I didn’t expect the desire to write to last, and if it did I was a hardcore Supernatural girl. I had stories I needed to finish for that fandom.

Finan though, that sexy Irish bastard would not be denied.

And I found myself rewatching the series… I mean, I started at season 2 the episode where Finan shows up. ( sorry Em)

And I got another idea. And I just decided: Fuck it. And signed up to get an Ao3 account and started writing and posting.

Now, this is the part where I get a little emotional. It was through my fic that I met some of my closest friends. I got an invite to a Discord server and the rest is history.

I have laughed with these awesome peeps, cried with them, celebrated their victories, and shared in their defeats. Spent far too many hours talking about how sexy certain characters are *cough cough* Finan and Sihtric.

I found my own family, you could say.

So, yes, The Last Kingdom is over, there will be no new adventures with Uhtred and his pretty boys.

I want to hear some of these stories because I heard an insane one on Reddit from a woman who was involved with this woman for 8 freaking years and then she decided to marry a man and cosplay as being straight. It’s crazy. I could never involve myself. I don’t get why gay ppl even entertain religious ppl like that. I run, and anyone who supports them.

There was this Moroccan-descent woman she (my date, let’s call her L) was seeing. Of course they had to be discreet, L couldn’t call her directly, they could never meet up in the city she lived in, they could never hold hands because what if somebody from the community (Arabic) saw her, etc. Already a complete nightmare. On top of it, L discovered (I don’t remember how) that her girlfriend was engaged to a much older man in Morocco and was going to marry him soon. She had kept that entirely from L and when confronted about it, said she was fine with it and that sleeping with a woman was haram, bla bla bla.

She had options, living in Europe. But she still chose to marry a man from her fucked up culture instead of cutting ties and never looking back.

L also dated a Turkish woman and it was the same shit: couldn’t hold hands, always having to meet up in another city for safety and privacy reasons, never calling her directly because her father was looking through her phone bills (yes all these grown women still lived at home with their parents) and there was a risk he could wonder about that number popping up and start asking questions. The fucking paranoia, my god.

And then L found out -through some FB snooping - that her girlfriend was going to marry her cousin (yeah…very common) and once again the same story repeated itself.

Just like in your Reddit example, these women always choose their culture in the end and I don’t believe these are cases of lesbians but bisexuals anyway. A lesbian would cut ties forever, however hard that may be. A lesbian will still stay loyal to her culture though.

I once met a muslim lesbian at a party (she was from Algeria) who straight up told me that if her parents back home ever found out about her homosexuality, they’d come murder her. Imagine living with that threat over your head. Couldn’t be me.

I think lesbians who are foolish enough to engage in this type of interethnic dating do so out of loneliness and lack of options. The same way lesbians are more willing to consider a LDR than the average straight woman. Because of the minuscule dating pool.

I think sharing the same culture and values is crucial and you are only adding problems and stress to your life when you decide to ignore that.

That hasn’t happened to me because 1) I’m an atheist and the very hint of religion/irrational nonsense immediately turns me off and 2) I’m only attracted to European women.

Ik im super late, I spent the whole saturday travelling back to my hometown (a 7 hour travel turned into 10 so i just wanted to sleep after) and today was fathers day here and i had a family asado, so i got home at 5pm and also wanted to sleep after so many hours of ~socializing~ lmao Also, here I have next to zero privacy and it's very difficult to have 'unproductive' time online ¬¬ My mother demands at least 6 hours of conversation a day and its...exhausting

Honestly, I kinda like how much they value tradition because it makes the school seem a bit evil. Others have already pointed out that this arc is a mundane horror arc. The pace and the goals make it seem like one of those teen movies but not quite right. Ciel needs to get rid of a bully, he needs to get close to the popular kids (the P4) so he can get invited to the party (the midnight tea party) like in the movies. Ciel is almost like that unpopular kid who wants to become popular. But at the same time, the arc reflects how society as a whole works. You need to network, gain trust, etc. to get invited to certain things. There are traditions or processes that could be changed but aren't because "they work just fine rn. if it ain't broke don't fix it."

I don't like that the P4 are idiots that share 1 brain cell, because in what universe do you decide to try and bring your victims back to life???? They'll tattle on you.

The Lower Master is 1000% a pedo sadist. Why else would he be hiding in the shadows watching kids get beat? IMO he's as bad a Druitt because those kids are under his care, the parents put their trust in that institution, in that fucker and he does that? he's a bitch.

There is only one teacher in that school and it's Sebastian. Otherwise, the other houses would have a coach too. But it only seems like the Blue House has a coach, that does spend a lot of time with one particular young boy and carries him when he's hurt and kinda flirted with another and made him confess to being bullied... yeah, that school has too many faculty that's into kids... poor kids.

Violet kinda just blocked the exit while Redmond + Bluewer held one person and Greenhill beat up Derrick. I love Violet, I really do, but there's no way he took down the rest of the boys. Those boys should've been able to run and the P4 should've been forced to hunt them down for sport.

The P4 are lucky to live in an era where they can't be easily voice-recorded. Because if Ciel wasn't the Queen's Guard dog, it'd be a he said, she said kinda thing. The moment Ciel started asking, they should've just said," I have the right to an attorney and won't speak without one present."

Gender and socio-economic status must play a big role. There would obviously be exceptions, there's always people eager to climb the social ladder (marrying kids into a better-off family, a middle-class family pushing for one of the kids to go into a good, respectable, career, etc.) The LW was probably just eager imagining what kinda of kid he'd see beaten up next year and what success story would decide to mention his name as an inspirations or whatever, maybe he even wanted to become the headmaster.

Amor, I don't think he's Ciel's grandpa. I just think he was Claudia's sidepiece. She probably rode that D while away from home when he was busy being the Guard Dog. Harcourt is the real victim. He shat himself in front of everyone, he discovers one of his crushes is a butler, then his body goes into shock because there are hungry, hungry zombies and he pisses himself, lastly, his two crushes are being gay in front of him and he passes out. And by, like, the next day, his boss is expelled, his crushes leave, and he isn't allowed to talk to anyone about what happened. My boy needs therapy.

I think Yana has spoken at times about how Vincent is kinda very evil and just the fact that he's evil (even if he's so soft and attentive to his sons) was kinda passed down to them. I think R!Ciel might've inherited more of the Phantomhive evilness because he was the oldest and Vincent might've spent a bit more time since he'd inherited everything. I also think that Ciel has always been the one with more inner goodness, I think. I've seen screenshots here where O!Ciel says he wants to start his toy company because he's almost always inside (cause he's sickly) and wants kids like him to be able to enjoy themselves because most toys are outside toys. Meanwhile, R!Ciel tells him that it's dumb and stuff. There's also a difference when it comes to how they speak about the Earl's duties to the people who live in the Phantomhive land and how they talk to servants from the little I've seen.

Ed is such a sweet boy. I like the dynamic between him and Ciel.

I can answer this question. She had Claudia killed because she UT's D but he was too in love with Claudia. She obviously had to wait until there was a Phantomhive heir old enough to be a Guard Dog before killing her, hence she waited until Vincent was around 15 years old. Then she got impatient because UT had still not gotten over his ex and killed Vincent. She probably wouldn't give a shit if the twins dies because if UT didn't want her, then she'd at least have killed all he loved and would just give the title to the Midfords or some other family. My best bet is that they were turning against her or knew something that they shouldn't and she didn't trust them to keep their mouths shut.

As someone not a huge fan of Edwina, thank you for defending her lol. I am first and foremost a Kate defender/supporter. Do I agree with the way she went about some things? No. But she always put her family first in every scenario. You could see the love she had for Mary and Edwina and their well-being. Them and their love of her? I guess episode 8 showed it?

People need to realize that Edwina is only at fault for her cruelty against Kate and refusing to listen to her. Kate told her multiple times Anthony wouldn’t love her. He humiliated Kate at the races and Edwina didn’t care. She didn’t stick up for Kate or her father and mother after the Sheffields were cruel to them, etc. Anthony made enough “grand gestures” to imply that he had actual feelings for her - or at least what an 18 year old would believe to be love. Anthony. Is. At. Fault. when it comes to Edwina and her confusion.

Also people need to leave CC alone. Like you said, she has a right to ask for more as an actress, they didn’t have to do it. I won’t assume how she felt the direction the plot went, but I did side eye her a smidge during some Twitter debacles but I also kinda chalked it up to her being nervous about her first big role. I’m very glad she is no longer on there because I do not think that would’ve been good for her at all after the season dropped.

i found her behaviour towards kate to be horrible and that's something that merits criticism and was never addressed in the show. while kate may have made mistakes, her every decision was made with edwina in mind and i never felt like edwina acknowledged or appreciated that, or that she realised or cared about how much she hurt kate.

but yeah, for all anthony stans claim that he was upfront with her from the beginning bla bla bla, i found it perfectly reasonable that a teenager would romanticise his actions? even with kate as the voice of reason (thank god for older sisters) is an 18yo really expected to be on the receiving end of anthony’s speech in episode 2 and not romanticise it? teenagers fantasise for way less. of course what she took away from it was that Unlike Other Gentlemen who woo debutantes with pretty empty words, anthony was an honest and honourable man that may not wax poetry but would be there for her and she could always rely on. i’m not expecting someone that young and inexperienced to have the maturity of a grown woman and see the red flags when she's barely interacted with men in her life!

and yeah i’ve found cc annoying during the s2 promo (kinda felt like she'd built up a romantic version of edwina and anthony's relationship in her head that just wasn't there instead of acknowledging that anthony was an asshole to her character) plus the whole twitter debacle. i won't pretend she hasn't since received hate from the fandom cause she definitely has, but at the time of the whole poster mess kathony stans had absolutely no issue with her and were pretty excited to see her as edwina, which is why all the anger and blame was directed at the production.

but that's neither here nor there when it comes to her wanting more for her character, she was entitled to ask! it was up to the writers to say “yeah this is probably not a good idea but how about we go that direction?”. edwina could've had the same amount of screen time and cc the same amount of promo except it wouldn't be as a plot device that exists to stand between the leads, but as her own character. think anthony in s1. he got plenty of screen time and he was involved in simon and daphne’s story, but his character didn't solely exist to pose an obstacle in their story. he had an arc of his own that existed outside the main romance of the season.

Since I’ve finally had a second to breath from academic prison, I’ve started reading again.

My reason for reading:

1) Reconnect with my middle school self, who was a book worm

2) See how the person I have grown up to be has changed my tastes in books

I started my journey by re reading a book series that I really loved, it’s the Court series by Sarah J Mass.

When I was younger I loved her books, but when I was younger all I wanted to read was fantasy love stories that I could imagine happening to me some day.

So now re visiting the story has a fresh adult who has learned far more about herself, and just doesn’t dig that basic love story stuff, I definitely was “rolling my eyes” at the mate stuff, the over use of sex in situations I would think both parties would not be up for, portraying men has having to have a certain type of body to be considered beautiful, woman be powerful but still being damals in distress… bla bla I could go on

But! That middle school girl is still me and when Rys first showed up I started crying. Either way this book was a copping mechanism for a little girl going through a tough time.

Anyway, where am I now in my book journey? I want fantasy but I want effortlessly inclusive fiction.

I want books that explore the world and feel real. I want people of all backgrounds and I want to feel like the characters could walk off the page.

I also don’t want it too seem like gay characters were added as a second thought for feel fake because the author was trying to be inclusive.

In my search for such a book I wound up at my local library, looking through the long wall of fiction, only to find they but a little gay flag sticker on books that have gay themes. And when I realized this there were only two books that seemed to exist I started to sigh..

But not hopeless yet I came across a book called FishBowl by Bradley Somer. First the book cover struck me, and it wasn’t fantasy but I thought I may give it a try since what else was I gonna do?

Ima go into detail about some characters I really love, just know if you want some people who are effortlessly themselves and happen to be gay along the way read it, was such a breath of fresh of air in a work that sucks

I can’t tell you enough when I say I have loved a character so much. Normally a character has to have something in common with myself or someone I care about for me to be invested in them

But this character could not be further from me haha

We are introduced to him by the perceptive of another character, and we seem him as a big “scary” construction worker man who the character bumps into

This introduction makes me over look him, because why would there be anything special in him

Then we finally get to see from his perspective, but it’s him talking about a woman who walks past the construction sight with his co worker, and has he looks at her walk it describes how the dress she wears moves with the stretch and twist of her body

In my mind I say gross, I hate men who say they appreciate the beauty of feminine things but really they mean the sexual side of feminine thing 🤮

However as a reader we start to invest in him more when he goes to pick up a package that is hidden from us

We don’t know where it’s from what it could be, all we know is it’s in a small box and he goes through the back to pick it up to suggest he keeps this part of himself quiet, secret, and untouched

At this point I’m curious but still not in love with this character, and technically the rest of his time in the novel doesn’t mean much but this is where I will introduce the super of the apartment building..

He works night and day talking care or the building who feels unnoticed for his efforts by the people who live in the building, he is a hopeless romantic and feels like he can’t be romantic because age or it hasn’t been the chance

He has a moment in the book where he describes how English stifles his romantic flare, that he sounds so undeveloped, rough in English and if someone could hear him in Spanish they would see how smooth and beautiful he can be, which is heartbreaking

I myself feel like an idiot when I try and communicate in the language I’m trying to learn so I can kind of understand but it felt real to hear him think that about himself

Anyway we learn that he loves old romantic movies and songs, he loves dancing and particularly loves the elegant feminine style of clothes

He gets all dazzled up so that when he is down with his last service request he can give himself a night on the town, so he approached the last apartment that is just a leaky sink and he thinks back to an actress who he said had such beautiful ankles (weird it will make sense later)

Now I’m switching back to Garth, he enters his Apartment that he recognizes the faucet is still leaking

Rushed into his room to open his box, and he starts to describe that the shop he frequents is a dress shop who has a special custom seamstress who knows how to make dress that fit him perfectly

He recounts how his body is so masculine, hairy, large, not feminine at all.. he goes on to describe how he is a lover of the art of femininity and when he sees women in dress he wishes to embody that type of beauty as well

In the box is a custom dress and strapy heels, and he comments that his toes are so ugly but his ankles.. his ankles are his best attribute 😩

Are you guys seeing what’s happening here, two people who aren’t even remotely connected, have never even said they were outright fruity

Just lover of romance, of beauty come together in an unlikely place both respecting each others meaning and appreciating there stepping out of their comfort zone

There’s more to the story, the whole book is good but these characters.. THESE CHARACTERS made me giggle squeal and dance

And it was so special because i didn’t get to see there after story, I get to imagine the drive in movie theater dates, the super learning to cook meals for his beauty while the beauty learns to dance with him ✨

Anyway to many more beautiful love stories that don’t fit the binary and are just so much more beautiful for that reason alone

So I had a durge.

And so here I am now. Explaining my silly little fantasy world.

I have been working my ass off writing this thing and I'm really proud of it:3 imma explain/summarize every book/story for the people that will listen:D

Here's a little backstory because it's very important (I'll make a character post separately)

This entire story line thing was inspired by a school I went to and it kinda started the entire thing. It was a religious school that fucked me up frfr so I decided to cope by making a silly thing out of it:3 The world is in the year 3000 and is ruled by one family of rich people (eat the rich) who had a son who was said to inherit the rule. But they found out that he was gay so, being rich people, They made an entire school for people like him So that they can fix him and the other people. (This kids name is Maxwell btw)

1st book

(Gothic horror/magic/murder mystery/twisted romance??)

The story starts out with the mc Canine by explaining how he was going down the wrong path (addiction n shit like that) after his younger sister canceled her subscription to life. During this time his father who was a minister at the local church sent him and his brother off to a boarding school full of people like them. This is where the found family dynamic starts to come in but soon, people start to go missing and ominous letters from the outside start to come in. It's up to the people remaining to find out what's going on before no one is left to find out.

2nd book

(anarchy/gay/dystopian/magic)

Canine and Maxwell but they are all grown up and Maxwell has the throne now. Canine is Maxwell's right hand man and closest friend. But, Canine is living a double life as he is a part of a anti-dictater organization under the wing of Maxwell's sister, Maxine. This organization is regarded as terrorists to the public due to their attempts to assassinate Maxwell. Canine is also dealing with not remembering his past due to a chip implanted in his brain by Maxwell's family. The organization has a goal to dismantle the society that they reside in, so, they hatch a plan that takes months to perform. One thing after another, it's all in ruin. Canine is left with deathly wounds and nowhere to go but the forest miles and miles away.

3rd book

(mystery/gay/run away/suspense/supernatural/magic)

Canine wakes up in a medical tent with a familiar face treating his wounds. He can't exactly explain to himself where the face is from. But the face helps him to heal and get back into society step by step. But this person has a dark life, living with their abusive partner. Canine wants to help them get away so after a brutal fight they run away together. But their partner runs the city and wants them to come back, so they send out hitmen and PIs to track them down. Bla bla bla the chip from 2nd book is removed and he remembers who the face is, and omg, it's his lover from 1st book (his name is Lyrus). Canine uses his past to aid in the take down of Lyrus's partner.

4th book

(gay/recovery/supernatural/magic/tbd)

After the take down of Lyrus's partner, Canine and him start recovering from their previous trauma with therapy and whatnot. At the same time, they start dating and making friends. One of these friends (she's from 3rd book and she has a pet raccoon:D) is a journalist that is struggling to find stories so she reached out to Canine and Lyrus to help. They become amateur detectives and they start busting crime rings. But this reminds Canine of his past, which permits him to visit the ruins of his old home. Lyrus follows him and finds out what he did. Soon after this, the people left in the ruins want revenge and raid the new place.

Now, a good writer never spoils the ending;3 But I will tell you that there is two endings:D!!
