Ok so I don’t know how to explain an AU in any way that is coherent but I will try my best

This was sort of inspired by another person’s au on here that was like a sort of role swap, but basically mine is just what if Heng decided to go to New Kunlun to make up with Yi before the launch, only to get there in time to watch him die to Eigong, and then promptly get forcibly escorted to the civilian housing area and stuck into a dreamscape, even though she’s not technically a citizen on New Kunlun. And the plot continues as normal for awhile till she wakes up again hundreds of light years away from her home and a little shell shocked from watching her brother die in front of her for a second time

Soo basically the screw Heng over AU because I miss her and want her to be around more, or as I have lovingly dubbed it, the stowaway AU :)

Where do you think Sanemi went after he died? Breaks my heart reading the scene of Shizu and Sanemi reuniting only to get kicked out by his dad, Shizu did not deserve to stay with him. Wishful thinking on my part, I like to imagine he, Genya, and the rest of their siblings were able to convince her to come with them to heaven to be happy together since she was in limbo for so long already, maybe her sentence wasn’t as harsh as Kyogo’s. Unless Kyogo just kicked him out of hell and straight to heaven so he wasn’t around 😅 From my understanding, Shizu chose to go to hell from guilt, so that’s why I thought she could drift back to limbo. But I also don’t know the exact details of demon slayer’s heaven and hell aside from following the Buddhist concept. Honestly, my mind went on a tangent and it makes me wonder what happened to Shizu and the siblings after we were show the reincarnations/descendants (I will die on the hill that Sanemi’s descendent is also his reincarnation lol.) Genya was clearly so important to Sanemi, but he and the rest of the children also cared for their mother and it’s just so tragic for her. Anyway, what are your thoughts on Sanemi’s fate?

Hi anon! Sorry this took so long to answer, I've been swamped with work but anyways thanks for your question.

I believe Sanemi would go to heaven, he hasn't killed any human, he was just protecting Genya when he killed his mom. He may be prickly but he's an honest and good person.

For Shizu, I feel that she would still be in hell because she killed her kids. I don't think someone can be as easily let into heaven as they can into hell although, I haven't really done any research of Buddhism so I'm not really sure but I'd like to believe that her remorse would allow her to rejoin her kids. Kyogo can kick rocks, he's going to remain in hell and reincarnate as a turd floating in the toilet of an abandoned house.

For the second question, this may be controversial but I don't consider the reincarnation story line as canon. I think it was just a way for Gotogue-sensei to placate the fans who were sad that their fav characters died. Maybe the Shinazugawa babies reincarnated as other children but still it's weird not to have them interact with r-Genya and r-Sanemi seeing how family was so important to them.

I feel the whole thing is one of those information gaps that plague the series.

Only Blood Communion and Interview With the Vampire to go now. I'll make more elaborated posts about my thoughts once I'm done with everything, but here are some of my opinions:

TVA is absolutely my favorite (I've said it before and will say it again: the most purifying cry I had in my life, it destroyed and restored me in the best possible way), TVL, TQOTD and Prince Lestat are also on my top 4, though I don't know where to place the latter on my personal ranking. The others are sort of tied and the order changes according to specific aspects. Like, Blood and Gold covers a lot of eras and places of the world, has multiple interesting characters, so it's fun in the sense there's a lot of stuff to see, even if I'm not a Marius's fan and he isn't the best narrator imo. On the other hand, something like Merrick is more packed, just her, Louis and David (and some Lestat), but I just love her as a character and the whole story of her family. I can't really choose.

Memnoch would be the last because it was the one I struggled with (tho I loved Armand on it), I thought the concept was great and I could've loved it with a more active, intense and eventful execution. Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis is second-to-last because most of the plot was dumb to me, the part that made sense was solved in an unconvincing way, I had to do a lot of suspending disbelief even for a supernatural/sci-fi story... But it was nice to have so many characters I love reunited, even if some didn't have lines, it's nice to know they're around and I enjoy the vampires having sort of a healthy little community.

Favorite character is definitely Armand, then Lestat, then Pandora, Maharet, Mekare, Flavius, Merrick, Bianca, Gabrielle, Mona, Benji, Avicus and Petronia (they didn't appear much and did awful brutal stuff, yes, but having an intersex/gender-fluid character was great and they had so much baggage I could empathize with them). Most after Armand and Lestat are tied. I don't know if I'd call Benedict a fave, but I'm somewhat attached to him (and I KNOW about those spoilers). I LOVE Vittorio and Ursula too and I hope they can appear in some shape or form on the show. I don't looooove Antoine, but he's alright to me. He just seems to be a poor/broke dude who wants to live, have friends and dedicate his existence to his hyperfixations and I can relate because same lol. I get him.

Favorite pairings (either as an OTP or brotp): Lesmand (👑👑👑), Pandora and Flavius (👑👑), Maharet and Mekare (👑, they just don't get more crowns because they don't appear as much as I wanted 😔), Armand and Benji and Sybelle (as duos and a trio), Armand and Riccardo, Armand and Bianca (pretty much Armand and everyone that isn't Marius lol), Lestat and Mona (their childish siblings-coded beef entertains me), Maharet and Jesse and Vittorio and Ursula (👑👑). I wish I had seen more of some characters/dynamics, tho.

MAYBE I could tolerate Marius and even love Magnus (he seems to have a sad and interesting story) if all I'd seen of them had been the content of the last trilogy, but given the previous books, I'm not sure I can enjoy Anne's decisions. I have a lot of mixed feelings about Magnus apologizing and Marius's behavior not even being seen as something to apologize for in the first place, but that's for another post.

Some of the books I would've been able to read and love with or without the show, some I only read to get information, but I'm mostly glad I'm equipped with so much of the lore now. That's not to say there aren't problematic things even for the genre that I need to compartmentalize and ignore (to some extent and not completely) for my enjoyment, because there is a lot of that, but it hasn't been a waste of time. And I'm glad I know what can happen in the future, make silly little fancasts and have events to look forward to seeing on the series. Obviously, opinions can change with the next books, when I re-read the novels or even with conversations and discussions... And that makes me excited as well.

- michi returns and crashes the aarmau wedding

- vylad has his main character era where he has to play detective and figure out what's wrong with his family and what exactly went down on starlight because everybody is too traumatized to say what happened (dante & laurance are the watson to his sherlock)

- the shadow knights return for one last slay

- jenny returns and oddly enough becomes besties with aphmau (jennymau toxic yuri ftw. come on, aphmau literally saved the world, she should be allowed to cheat on her fiancee with women as a treat)

- MORE TRAVIS AND AARON INTERACTIONS. the parallels are there! they could bond over being cursed souls and their messy relationships with their (deceased) fathers.

- kimcinda becomes canon. fight me. lucinda and kim are gfs. also emmalyn leaves kim's body and moves onto the afterlife with kenmur and mcd aphmau.

- nana reveals her past and her real name to the rest of the cast. she finally leaves behind her "kawaii~chan" persona, and searches for who she truly is, possibly going on a quest to track down her family with zane.

- make garrance at least implied or give garroth any boyfriend. we deserve one genuine mlm relationship that isn't just played for laughs.

- teony and ivy also return bc i said so.

- zack has a redemption arc and reconnects with aphmau ofc.

- ein's mom shows up as a villain, seeking revenge for her son's death. but when she sees how hurt and sad everybody is, she feels bad and doesn't have the heart to hurt them any further. she also finds out how much pain and suffering her son has caused to everybody, and begins to feel guilty because of how she raised ein.

- ein's ghost haunts the cast and possesses several characters. they eventually have to appease his spirit because it's the only way to get him to leave them alone and put his soul to rest. ein's spirit has very long conversations with all of his enemies — aphmau (they find out they're half-siblings which makes them both feel a mixture of disgust and sadness), aaron (they finally find one thing they can agree on, they both hate their dads, and put their rivalry to rest), blaze, daniel, dottie, rylan, kacey, katelyn, kai, gene, zack and his own mother. [+possibly an ein backstory in flashbacks/animation to finally explain his motivation in detail]. ein finally moves on to the afterlife (HELL ofc).

- elizabeth starts off as the main villain of the season. you think she's gonna do evil stuff and kill people like michael and ein did, and then BAM — halfway through the season she has a reluctant change of heart and semi-redemption arc (with zack's support) and ends up an anti-hero instead. she reunites with her family. katelyn is not happy to see her at all and is still very angry at her. but kacey warms up to her much quicker surprisingly and they spend quality mother-son time together.

- all in all pretty peaceful season with depressing undertones. it's like early, slice-of-life mystreet and late, dark mystreet fused together. there are a lot of red herring villains (michi, ein's mom, elizabeth), but none of them actually do anything evil and all of them have a change of heart. nobody dies.

- the void consumes everything. but the cast ends up creating a new dimension (with the help of the void paradox cast!) and uses the realm breaker to transport themselves into it just before the mystreet dimension is consumed and dies off. the series ends with aphmau and co swearing to build a better world in the new dimension they have created.

Meet Amber! (Remake)

I change her class because 3 people on Sodor Au Wiki Didn’t like E2 Amber because they thought that would Ruin Thomas, I decided to make Amber an SR USA Tank Engine and I’m changing the bio style and she is now Thomas’s Youngest Cousin, don’t ask my why they aren’t the same class so don’t provoke me!

Bio

Amber was built around Early 1943 and was one of those engines to fought in WW2 since she brave enough to fight and mange to survive without being blown up but some of her siblings got blown up which gave her a little bit of ADHD and PDA, after WW2 she was send to the British Railway along with Rosie who is her long time best friend and they both did “not” have makeup at the time so yeah, then in 1963, a few years after the war ended, Rosie and Amber’s parts were pinched and stolen to repair her classmates until she would eventually be destined to be cut up for scrap, this cause Amber to become sad and didn’t want to have her faint along with her best friend but luckily they were saved by Sir Topham Hat who managed to purchase the two, he was in need of two engines to help with the extra work on Thomas' Branch Line, so after they got purchased, Rosie was painted Pastel Pink with the number 37 on her side and a nameplate and Amber was painted light blue and numbered 14 of the railway, all they engines greeted them warmly, Amber reunites with her sister and cousin, but Thomas has a small grudge towards Rosie for replacing his siblings much to Amber’s dismay.

But in the end, Rosie got the courage to tell Thomas to let off his own grudge and let they have siblings rest in peace, Amber who was being a ass told Thomas to rightfully apologize to Rosie and so he did, so on they became good friends, as like other HC, Rosie looks up to Thomas, in My HC Amber looks up to Arthur.

One time while Amber was still new to the railway, she followed Arthur around like a stranger much to Arthur’s annoyance(not in a rude way), after Arthur had an accident while derailing near the fishing village, she was the first engine to get the breakdown train before anyone else did and came to the rescue.

During TAMTR, She along some friends helped Thomas, Mr C, Junior, Lily, Patch and Burnett retrieve Lady and escape from Diesel 10, As a reward, Junior gave her some magic gold dust, with which she could transform into an Ali-Pop as human.(Also TAMTR is canon! Even in my Au)

Fun fact, in most myths, Scylla and Charybdis are together, but Mr. Jalapeño separated them and yes, Charybdis is a girl and a relative of Poseidon.

Clover & Patience come across Bravery's ghost, said ghost immediately rushing toward them upon sewing Patience. Hugging her tightly. He tries his best to guide Clover while also taking care of & diverting most of his attention toward his sister.

But could you BLAME him he missed her SO MUCH.

Perseverance is very unhappy about the circumstances of their death, & complains about everything in the Underground because of it. They'd rather just study all the flora & fauna while being left completely alone. Regardless, the other Humans still talk to Perseverance for company despite them being antisocial. Except for Integrity, who also likes to be left alone. They tolerate Integrity because of this.

Perseverance's soul is found by a monster trying to get it to Asgore or a Royal Guard member early on in the dunes. Luckily, Clover stops them &... Perseverance just complains that they could've handled it & didn't need some "cosplayer'''s help. Yeah, sure, keep telling yourself that.

Kindness befriended quite a few monsters during their time in the Underground. One of them, Kindness's closest friend, managed to keep his soul safe from getting nabbed by royal guards. So Kindness keeps close by their house, using her ability to only really pick up cooking utensils to help her friend out. It also likes to wander around finding new ingredients & such. He commonly likes to ask Perseverance for their notes on plants & spices even if they can be a bit difficult sometimes.

Clover & company find Kindness in the Wild East's Saloon, hanging out with her best friend as she inspects a Feisty Slider. Then spotting Clover being dragged in by Ed & Starlo, & watching the chaos unfold. Yes, they were sad that the had to say goodbye to their friend, but it was for the greater good.

However, her soul is able to wander quite a bit away, all the way to Steamworks & back because of her... High LOVE...

It's also because of this that she has more of a presence to Monsters, Maybe a figure flickering in & out of existence, or scattered footsteps in the sand. The other souls are... Also a tiny but wary of her because of this. She's silent & scary. : (

Clover encounters Integrity throughout their journey, but Integrity only really starts to stick around in the Steamworks. But... From a distance. Depending on the route, either because of Ceroba or Flowey.

Much like Lucifer R used to an angel, knowing Lucifer back then aswell, R being considered a Golden child but also a trouble maker because they craved freedom, R remained and mourned when Lucifer fell but was prevented from following after them by their parents, R becoming kinda like a replacement for Samael in heaven since they were both the best and favorites despite their trouble making nature. Eventually R rebels against heaven and chose to leave and revisit their “best friend” you can chose how it continues and ends.

Oookay so that was a bit of a rollercoaster. I loved your request and as soon as I read it I had two different plots in my mind. Since I liked both so much, I thought why not do both! So we have the same premise but with two endings: one Happy with a hint of corruption and one Angsty with cruel Lucifer and sad feels. I hope you enjoy it! Also, it is sfw, but I liked the happy ending very much and will probably do a small continuation for it especially because I want LUCIFER SMUT. Sorry, Gwen's Lucifer just does things to me...

You remembered what had brought you there, in front of the Ruler of Hell. How could you forget? Their beautiful face could never fade from your memories, no matter how many millennia passed. Their laughter whenever you toyed with your siblings’ creations, how delighted they looked when the others discovered your shenanigans. You could never get rid of the feeling they blossomed in your celestial, immaterial and hypothetical heart. Angels were made of something else, not flesh and bones, certainly not organs, but your chest still hurt as if something inside it clenched every time you thought of your best friend; the one who got away.

“Anael?” their voice was still soft, but more calculative than when last you spoke, “I thought my demons had it wrong when they claimed seeing an angel fall to our doorstep.”

You had rebelled. The Silver City didn’t have anything for you anymore. Since you were forced to battle on opposing sides with the monarch in front of you, Heaven lost its appeal, it also lost its righteousness to you. How could it be right to fight the ones you loved? Forget ineffability, it simply made no sense.

“I came for you, Samael-”

Their laughter interrupted you. You could not fail to notice the stark difference from the ones you were used to hear when you were young, just two mischievous archangels fooling around in creation, crafting the most breathtaking stars and cosmical explosions to fill the universe with beauty.

“I haven’t been called that for a long time,” if you didn’t know them your entire existence, maybe you wouldn’t have noticed the sliver of disappointment behind their practised cordial façade, but you did.

“Would you prefer I called you Lightbringer? Morning Star?” you smiled tenderly at them “Lucifer?”

Nothing changed much on their face. It saddened you that the being you loved, once full of mirth, seemed now a sealed vault, keeping everything away from view. You could not look at them without sorrow.

“Lucifer, I came here for you. I rebelled against our creator like I should have done all these years ago, to be with you,” you reach for their hand, and they let you take it.

“I seem to remember you cowering and betraying me,” they caress your hand in theirs, smiling faintly to themselves, for which reason you could not tell “You knew I would be cast here, didn’t you?”

“I overheard God and Gabriel talking of your rebellion. God certainly knew I was aware of your fate but didn’t seek me to explain. I knew you would be cast to the farthest place from Heaven, but I didn’t know of the existence of Hell, I only thought we would be so far away that no light would ever kiss our skin again, and I could not let you do that to yourself.”

Their grasp on your hand loosened, and they brought both their hands to your face, caressing your cheeks free of the few tears staining them. They were so gentle, their face so compassionate that you were overcome by your feelings, covering their hands with yours and looking deep into their eyes.

“I love you, Lucifer. I could not live a second more away from your presence. The Silver City in all its glory pales in comparison to my feelings for you.”

At that moment, Lucifer closed the space between your faces, coming down to meet you in the middle. They kissed you feverously, ferociously, as if their life depended on it, and you responded with just as much. You felt their fingers holding your head strongly, if you were a different being you might have felt searing pain from the sheer force they held you with, the desperation in them almost too much, too overwhelming.

Suddenly you screamed, parting from them in a panicked thrashing. Your wings were burning.

Happy Ending

Immediately, Lucifer held up their hands, deep sorrow and resentment twisting their face. They stepped close to you while you screamed and thrashed like a wounded animal, eyes wide with no understanding of what was happening and why your feathers had simply combusted.

“Shh, calm down, my love,” they walked carefully in your direction “It will end soon, I’m afraid I can’t make it stop but let me help you with the pain.”

The fire was slowly subsiding, in their place blackened leathery wings like a bat’s were becoming visible. The smell of burnt flesh was not uncommon in Hell, but somehow you could tell the smell of your own body from the others.

You fell to the ground, all strength was gone from you, and Lucifer encircled you with their wings, pulling you to their lap in a protective bubble. Their touch was oddly calming and you felt yourself give in to their soft words.

“I must admit I thought you would have burned in your fall. Perhaps Heaven is a bit more vindictive than we give it credit for.”

You could not believe they would do this to you. You saw it happening to Lucifer, but somehow you thought it would be different now, you thought your wings would remain dove-white and gentle. It appeared you were wrong.

“Come, I’ll take care of you,” they lifted you in their arms, taking you to what you could assume was their chambers “I will make you the strongest ruler to ever exist. No real shall be unaware of your power, fierceness, and wisdom. You will rule by my side, and we will bring those bastards to dust.”

As they whispered in your years, you felt a slow smile twisting your lips. Maybe it was the fall, maybe you resented The Presence since the first rebellion, but the thought of burning it all to the ground sent you into a satisfied sleep, in your dreams, you saw Hell the only remaining realm in the universe.

Angsty Ending

“Do you think I believe for a second that you chose to come to me? To abdicate the cold comfort of the Silver City for your supposed ‘affection’ for me?” their voice was cold and cruel, their smile just as kind and comforting as before. You could not understand how such bitterness could be hidden by so perfect of a mask.

When your guard were down, Lucifer manipulated the flames in the throne room to burn you, making your wings as black as theirs.

“Bitterness has consumed everything good in you, Samael, you’re a shadow of who you were, you’re not free, you are a slave to your resentment!” you shouted, infuriated. The rage building in your body enough to power a hundred smites. However, you had just fallen, your wings were just burned, and even with the power for a very decent battle against Lucifer, you lacked the strength to wield it.

“Mazikeen, please escort our guest to their cell. Make sure it’s the right one, where they’ll be able to contemplate what a foolish choice it was to betray me,” they said, gesturing with their hand to summon the archdemon.

You didn’t have a way of escape, Lucifer would make sure you were securely held in their claws, so you simply accompanied the creature to your new abode, a windowless cell of hot obsidian. It was just your luck you discovered that now you could burn.

After hours of introspection, sitting in your hellishly warm and uncomfortable cell, you realize why Samael were entitled “Prince of Lies”. Because in the throne room, when you looked into their eyes, you could swear on your life and the life of all living beings that they loved you just as much as you did them. It appeared you were wrong.

Mhom Ped Sawan - episode 4

Mhom Kham is super sad because Mhom Sut gave such a great poetry recital that she fears Princess Vilas plans to take her away.

The other women are spying on them because they have nothing better to do.

But Mhom Sut is having none of their nonsense. She's clearly annoyed their tender moment is being intruded upon. 🦵

Prik is reunited with Prajong's friend Man, they are either childhood sweethearts or VERY close siblings...the lack of subtitles is causing me to struggle a bit here 😅

Ueng, a woman who seems low down in the hierarchy of the woman's palace quarters makes a sudden play for Prik's attention which does not go well.

She takes this rejection pretty badly until she is told off by Suwan, acting on behalf of the princess.

Turns out Princess Vilas does want Mhom Sut but it seems like she's bringing Mhom Kham too? So yay...I think? 😅

Certainly they leave together and arrive to see the princess as a pair.

I was thinking about when MC and Willow finally reunite. And the thing is, if Willow was outside of the town and entered into it seeking MC, I know my MC would be a mess. He would mad, because Willow put themselves in danger. He would be relieved Willow is alive. Scared Willow is trapped in town too. And Fond because is Willow. So, I imagine my MC has a poor older brother breakdown, which I'm sure wasn't the first time something like this happened with Willow. Just that normally there was a supernatural angle to all of this.

Now, I play an MC who is so nice and kind he could be canonized and become a Saint. Or would, if he wasn't gay. Anyway, I was going for the kind of older brother that is easy to be jealous of. Like, very good at sports, and charismatic (also I made my MC to be tall, so I assume at least a male Willow would feel some jealousy from that). But so nice you feel bad about being jealous about them (my MC ended up being a firefighter because he is all about helping people too). Now, I don't know if Willow is jealous of such a sibling (they did seem a bit jealous in that scene in the lake when they were younger), but I imagined Willow was jealous indeed. But it wasn't a big issue, since my MC does consider Willow one of their best friends.

The thing I wanted to ask, after all that context, was basically the following: How would Willow react after such an MC, who basically had a worried breakdown for Willow's sake, says something along the lines of this: "I'm so happy to see you, but you shouldn't have come to this town. You are the better one among us, you deserved better than getting tapped here and you didn't need to worry about me. But now that you are here, I hope we can work together to find a way out. I'm sorry for getting you into this mess".

To answer your question: Willow would feel...odd. They'd do what they can to comfort MC, to assure them that "It isn't your fault. This was just...an accident. You don't need to be sad. We got into this mess together."

They would try to calm MC down the best they can. They know, deep in their heart, that it's their fault, but Willow would never admit it. They're terribly stubborn. Instead they'd latch on to the idea of working together to escape. Willow would launch into trying to come up with plans, hoping that focusing in on a distraction might get MC's mind off of....everything.

Hey, it’s fine, don’t sweat it! That was all on me, tbh, I have a habit of not putting too much info about my OCs into posts because they have a target audience of two, me and my partner in crime, and obviously we both already know pretty much everything there is to know about these guys. It’s very rare that anyone stumbles upon my art blog, let alone likes it enough to come here and send multiple asks about my characters, so thank you for that!! Maybe I should start putting small bios in the descriptions of my art posts, at least ages and sexualities and who they are in relation to whom 😅

Anyway, I did make a long infodump post about my main OCs, Suiren and Midori, here, and 99% of that information is still accurate, so I’m not going to repeat myself. And the rest depends on who you wanna know more about, Kat and I have over 20 between us, if I were to talk about everyone we’d be here until next year. But for now.. how about a rundown of the ones I currently speak of most often?

Haya – Born in 120 AG, she/her, cis, thinks she’s straight but definitely some flavour of queer, will most likely never figure it out :/. She’s Ghazan’s older sister who raised him after their parents fell victim to a plague when she and Ghazan were 14 and 5 respectively. Obviously, life wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for the two of the after that. Haya had to quit school so she could work to provide for her brother, and she worked herself to the bone at any job that would take her because what else could she do? Let her brother starve? Not pay the bills so they’ll eventually end up homeless? And with how tired she was, of course she had little capacity remaining for kindness. She became hardened, mean and immensely overprotective, always yelling at Ghazan whenever he didn’t do as she told him, particularly he ran off to play in the Swamp despite it being where the sickness that took away their parents had come from, even more so when he made friends with Ming-Hua, and eventually she started hounding him endlessly about how much money he’s costing her. And it all boiled down to Ghazan running away as a teenager and joining the Red Lotus, later reuniting and falling in love with Ming-Hua, and having Suiren and Midori. When the time came for the plan to kidnap Korra, the girls were left with Haya, and that’s where things take a sharp turn for the worse. Haya saw her brother in Midori and the swamp rat who stole him away from her in Suiren, they were living proof that her brother abandoned her and she couldn’t stand it. And so she became physically, verbally and emotionally abusive, and the effect that childhood had on the girls will stay with them long after they’re out from under her roof. Haya is easily the most emotionally conflicting character that I have. You want to hate her, you SHOULD hate her, she’s an absolutely awful person with 0 redeeming qualities, but then you remember that once upon a time she was very much like Suiren, a young girl who loved her mother very much and just wanted the best for her little sibling, and now she’s older and alone and miserable. It’s.. a sad fate, and a part of me can’t help but sympathise with her. Not that it excuses her actions, but it adds a layer to her for sure.

Summiya – Born in 124 AG, she/her, cis, aromantic allosexual, no exact sexuality label beyond that since for her, sleeping with people isn’t about the partner, but rather what they can give her. Zaheer’s older sister, the stereotypically perfect eldest child who sets impossible standards for her siblings. What sets her apart from the rest is that her face is perfectly symmetrical, as if someone put a mirror to one half of it, and while she’s undeniably beautiful, the symmetry tends to freak people out a little. She doesn’t look human, more like a perfect porcelain doll, and that’s exactly what she was raised to be. She was born into a noble family and given the patriarchal structure in place her only role in life is to uphold her father’s reputation and political status by being married off to the highest bidder and becoming the perfect wife and mother. When she was 16, Zaheer ran away from home and she denounced him as a brother with no hesitation. When her sister Aiza did the same thing three years later, Summiya struggled a lot more to do the same, but she was already married and pregnant at that point so pushed the event deep, deep down and focused on her own family. Following her siblings’ betrayal, she was placed under a lot more pressure to not end up like them and not let her kids do the same, which resulted in her becoming an overbearing control freak who hates that both her children (a girl and a boy, just like her own siblings were) were born with birthmarks on their faces, making them imperfect, and her carefully concealed but still obvious hatred of those marks drove her daughter to attempting to bleach her skin. And all her efforts were for nothing, because they still end up rebelling against her as teenagers, not too long before she discovers her husband is cheating on her and only a few months before Zaheer is imprisoned. Tough year, what can I say? And she just.. cracks, completely loses it, and Kat said she’d write a proper fic about it so I’ll leave the details to her, especially considering tumblr won’t like me talking about them, but she begins cheating on her husband too and is a complete masochist, to the point she deeply scares her partners and they end up breaking it off. Essentially, Haya on steroids 😅

Aiza/Emran – Born in 126 AG, she/he/they, genderfluid, pansexual, polyamorous. Zaheer’s other sister, the middle child in the family. The three siblings were never close with each other, they were never allowed to be, but Aiza and Zaheer still managed to share a few moments where he told her about Air Nomad culture and philosophy, thus causing her to gain an interest in it too. After he ran away she started reading a lot more and aching for the freedom described in the texts. At age 17, a few days before her arranged marriage, she gets into an argument with Summiya about duty, sacrifice and wanting more from life, much more than being married to a guy she never even had a proper conversation with and birthing his children, and upon finding no support in her sister she decides to run away too. She cuts her hair, disguises herself as a boy under the name Emran and becomes an air acolyte at one of the temples. She struggles at first since she never had to work for anything before, but eventually begins to love this way of life and gains a lot more confidence in herself. She makes friends and grows so close with them she sees them as family, and at some point reveals her deceit, but no one is too mad at her because ultimately, she’s still her. But after that revelation, she realises that she didn’t dislike being a boy, and she doesn’t hate being a girl as long as she’s not under the intense pressure her parents placed on her, and becomes genderfluid, using different pronouns and both Aiza and Emran as names depending on what they feel more like that day. They also start experimenting with their sexuality and fall in love with a bunch of people of all genders, forming a polycule though never settling down officially. After Harmonic Convergence they will gain airbending, and eventually, several years later, they’ll reunite with Zaheer and the two will get to need out about Air Nomads together like they were always meant to 🥹🥹

Ehuang – No exact birthdate yet, but most likely >180 AG. She’s still a bit too young for us to really decide on gender and sexuality and whatever else, but for now, cis, she/her. She’s the daughter of Midori and Opal Beifong, conceived with the help of Bataar Jr (Midori was the one pregnant). Midori and Opal adopt several kids together, but at some point Midori decides that she wants to know what it’d feel like to carry a child herself, to be there when they’re born, to see traits of her family reflected in them. So she and Opal talk, ask Bataar for help, one thing leads to another and nine months later, precious baby Ehuang is born. She’s the love of my life and light of my world, genuinely the most good and pure thing to ever exist, the representation of everything finally being okay with the world, and I adore her beyond what words can convey. She’s named after a character from the same legend her great grandmother’s (Ming-Hua’s mom, Nuying) name comes from, and will eventually reveal herself an earthbender, though not a metalbender like Opal’s family, but a lavabender like her grandfather. Truly the perfect mix of her entire family <3 This section is a bit shorter than the rest, but that’s simply because she doesn’t have too much going on with her yet. Hopefully one day we’ll find the time to add to it (and finally design her siblings, maybe???)

Ila and Alasie – Grouping these two together because they tend to go hand in hand with each other. Going off how old I imagine them to be compared to Suiren, Alasie was born in 152/153 AG and Ila in 150 AG. Cis and she/her for both, but Ila is a lesbian and Alasie is aroace (and a waterbender, though she’s rather bad at it). They’re not related to each other or, surprisingly, anyone else either on my OC list or out of canon characters. They both work as handmaidens in the Northern Water Tribe palace under Malina, Unalaq’s wife. Now, there’s quite a bit of lore surrounding Malina, but the basics are that her and Unalaq’s marriage was arranged, he has no interest in her because he’s a spiritfucker and only into Vaatu, she hates him, dislikes her kids, and was generally unsatisfied with life right up until one of her handmaidens showed interest in her, and in the nearly two decades since then she’s formed a proper harem out of both maids and guards who are all utterly enamoured with her. It’s not a permanent arrangement, a lot of them end up leaving their positions to get married or whatever else, and Malina chooses not to mourn and simply move on. Ila is a girl very much like the rest, in love with Malina and becoming absolutely obsessed after the one night she had with her. The difference is that her affection is completely unidirectional, she looks at no one else but her lady, completely and utterly devoted to her alone. Alasie, however, is aroace, and after being propositioned by Malina one evening tearfully confesses that she never wants to be touched by anyone, and Malina smiles and calms her and allows her to sleep in her bed, no obligations or anything, just so she can feel the warmth because she comes from a poor family and her clothes aren’t nearly as good at keeping her warm. What she ends up having with Malina is most similar to a queerplatonic relationship, and through that she becomes friends with Ila too, as they’re the two that Malina is most fond of at the moment. I will admit that Alasie is basically just a projection of myself that was created when I first figured out I was aroace and having a whole crisis over it, and Ila shares quite a few traits with Kat, so… yay for self inserts? They’re just fun characters to play around with when we need a break from the general doom and gloom of our main universes, that’s all :)

Mercedes & Emile:

Their story is so sad. They survived a horrid man together, but were separated. Mercedes lives with guilt and a desire to have her brother return(I'd even argue that the reason Mercie acts as such a doting big sister figure for most people is because she misses Emile so much and wants to recreate that bond with someone!), but Emile is swamped with demons. On so many paths, they long to have their sibling bond restored, but Emile fears the Death Knight too much to reciprocate and often dies as a result, leaving Mercie to mourn him. On Crimson Flower, Mercedes can wind up betraying her Faerghus friends, but at least they reunite, and yet… even here, Emile has built up walls. Even if they're paired together, Emile leaves for years and only returns once his penance is paid. They have to spend so much of their lives apart.

It might be a bit cliche, but the yin yang dynamic is everything to me here. Mercedes representing healing and warmth, growing from your pains into someone kind, vs. Emile who embodies mental anguish, stagnation, violence and pain while still having the potential to grow is still interesting and cool. You also have the sacrifices Emile made, Mercedes remembering his favourite sweets even a decade after they parted, etc. Their supports are bittersweet but end on a promising note. I care too much about 3d pixel people.

Ike & Mist:

Classic sibling duo! Big bro who will do anything to protect little sis, except little sis wants to prove she can protect big bro too! But it goes deeper than just that. I really love the insight into their dynamic after Greil's death. The basic traits of their dynamic are amped up because they're afraid, afraid of losing each other after they're the only thing the other has left. Ike has to get stronger, stronger than Greil, stronger than the Black Knight - because he can't die and leave Mist. He can't be that cruel. And Mist needs to find any excuse to still stand next to him. She'll never be as strong as Ike, that she knows, but if she can heal him when he's injured, if she can make him safe with her own two hands, that is enough. She cannot sit in wait, cannot live in fear that he will be there one day and gone the next, just like Greil. And these reactions to grief are basically the same thing - a desire for power so tragedy doesn't need to repeat itself. How they come about power is different, but they're the same at their core. What are your favorite saddest historical romances? The books that make you want to cry and not pretty cry like actually ugly sob

Oooh publishing because good question! I find it kinda hard to cry with books (and movies, TV) because of my weird compartmentalization thing, but! These made me cry, or at least made me *want* to. Not all of them are like, wholly sad, but they do have a good chunk of sadness at min.

The Scoundrel in Her Bed by Lorraine Heath. This has one of the only scenes that made me cry without having to sit and think about it; like, I didn't realize I was crying until I was crying, and it was a full, "breathe out and wipe at your eyes" situation. The situation in this book does hit home for me personally, but I also found it to be one of those horrible things where it's like... the only solution is to basically undo something that can't be undone. And it sucks because the thing wasn't done by the characters but to them--but it doesn't mean they can make it so that it didn't happen. OOF.

Waking Up with the Duke by Lorraine Heath. I always get really emotional when Ainsley and Jayne part as he brings her back to her husband, because it really has that like.... kind of cinematic, "the movie is ending and they're giving up" feeling. The way Lorraine wrote it feels so final, even though you know you have like 40% of the book left or something. It's rough.

A Rose at Midnight by Anne Stuart. This book is quite intense, and quite dark, and it really vividly describes the pain the heroine suffered in her past. I mean--just true horrors. It's that, and this really intimate catharsis she has with the hero, who she's hated for most of the book, at the end. This is a book about trauma and guilt and the parts of yourself you won't ever get back after something horrible happens, and what you do with what's left.

The Duke's Perfect Wife by Jennifer Ashley. The scene where Hart and Eleanor go to the tombs of his wife and baby son, oof. Like, the emotion over the baby really gets me. I also love a scene where the heroine like fully embraces the hero's love for people who came before her--romance can be kinda meh on that front sometimes, but this book does it very effectively. There's also a scene later in the book where Ian and Hart reunite and it's like--Ian never though they wouldn't find each other, and he's so upfront about it, and it's because their bond is so strong??? Truly I'm a sucker for a sibling bond.

In general, I really like that those core four Mackenzie brother books deal with some pretty heavy shit? Like they're funny, they're adventurous, they're super sexy. But you have Ian in his book struggling to communicate in a world that won't listen to him, and these gestures of love between the brothers that don't do what they need to, and Cameron's intense trauma from his marriage and him doing his best to be a good father while being imperfect; and Mac and Isabella dealing with the reality of being truly in love but not truly right for each other at the time. It's GREAT.

Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt. Dude, everything to do with Isabel's infertility in this novel. Like, her trying to shake Winter off by dropping that bomb on him, and Winter being like "no it is a loss, I would've loved to have had babies with you, but I want you more than imaginary babies"--like, the acknowledgment that he loves her more than hypothetical kids, but IT DOES SUCK THAT THEY CAN'T HAVE BIOLOGICAL KIDS. Like, it's so real for him to acknowledge that they will be okay but this situation sucks and it's not okay. Her breaking down over her inability to have a baby, her bond with her husband's illegitimate child that is just so tenuous, the big scene at the end, the fact that there is no magic baby. It's a lot.

OH DUDE. And there's a scene where Winter has to make a really tough call for this kid who he has like, pseudo-adopted... and he's making the right decision for the kid, but it's very painful for Winter personally, ESPECIALLY when set against the backdrop of a plot that basically is about how Winter and Isabel won't be able to have a baby together. Lol so much of this book is hammering home how Winter and Isabel are such good parents, essentially, but they can't have a biological child. It is ROUGH. When Winter says goodbye to that kid, I CRY.

When the Duke Was Wicked by Lorraine Heath. Dude, when Lovingdon uncovered Grace's secret... And the way it makes him confront his trauma over losing his wife and child and his fear of loving someone and losing them??? GOD.

Lorraine Heath is also really good at writing a book that's like "life isn't guaranteed, you've gotta just love and live boldly despite that" which is a complete callout.

A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall. The moment when Gracewood recognizes Viola by her freckles. That is a fucking LOT, dude. Overall this is a lighter, romp of a book, which I think is important because it's basically meant to give us an old school adventurous historical with a trans heroine... But it luxuriates in a type of sorrow at points that isn't at all about Viola being trans, but about the time she lost with Gracewood, the survivor's guilt and physical and metaphorical pain he's suffered from since they last saw each other. It's a lot, dude.

The Dragon and The Pearl by Jeannie Lin. There's a despairing love confession following a very intimate scene, and everything feels like it's just not going to be resolved? (And they discussed this a lot in a recent episode of Fated Mates, but--to me, a lot of the best romance novels give you a "how is this going to end in an HEA???" moment.) And it's so quiet and intense and I love it.

Indigo by Beverly Jenkins. The grand gesture at the end of this book. It's so meaningful. It did have me crying a good bit. Don't wanna spoil, it's too good. I mean, this book is about a woman who was born into slavery working with the Underground Railroad.... it's sad. But it's also so optimistic and full of joy.

Reki can braid his sisters hair very well

Miya secretly wishes he was on of Reki's yonger brothers

One day Reki gets asked how many siblings he has and he answers four

and langa asks I thought you have three sisters

and Reki is like yeah and Miya

Miya totally doesn't cry later that night about it

Reki's mom loves having cherry and Joe over, she feels like they're good male role models for Reki and langa (She wants to show her kids there are good men in the world)

Cherry is burdened with this information and personally added more safety rails to the track at S because he wouldn't even forbid them from going, he takes it upon himself to keep them safe

okay so let me talk about bot first of all bot is . theyre heavily implied to be trans actually NO not heavily implied it’s practically CANON because bot is supposed to be the robot replica of a dead person named bow but later on they say they “aren’t bow” and that they wanna be a different person !!!! in the newer episodes literally when they were drawing what they wanna look like they put they/them on the paper and it was shown ON SCREEN !!!!!/pos/silly and in the new episode they GOT their new look and when they noticed their eyelashes were gone and all the other cool details they got they said “it’s so… me !! :D” ALSO: this small speech they gave

goo literally made a video that was like 3 hours.long which was dedicated to bot's new identity after they said they were a robot and weren't "bow" and also they both have their own silly little alliance in the show called "The Cheer Factory" ❗❗❗ cmon theyre like. theyre literally like two little kids in a trenchcoat/silly theyrefound family siblings to me

Naruto & Umino:

everyone in the village hated naruto since the day he was born bc of the demon that lives in his insides somewhere (this sounds crazy if you haven't seen the show but trust me here). iruka was his teacher at school. when everyone was graduating, naruto failed and some side character told him that if he stole a secret scroll he'd pass (since he failed). they were using him tho, and were planning on killing him (i think). and then iruka goes after him and finds him with the scroll before the other person did, and was the first person to actively defend naruto, and was the first person to believe him and see him as the person he was (he's like 12 here btw). and then, iruka always acts as a father figure to naruto, and at the very end of the series, when naruto gets married, he asks iruka to be his father at his wedding. i cried like a little bitch and i swear to god i just lvoe them so much. i doubt anyone will submit them butAAAAAA. ALSO IRUKA PASSED HIM IN THE END AND GAVE HIM HIS OWN FUCKING HEADBAND!!! SOBS AND CRIES AND SCREAMS

iruka was the first person to ever believe in naruto. it’s mentioned throughout the story how much of an impact iruka had on naruto just by believing in him, and it’s super sweet. the real kicker is that at the end of the show, naruto asks iruka to play the role of his father at his wedding, and i will never not cry about it!! literally look at them!!! never shutting up about this!!
