Gale: (upon propositioning the player and being rejected in favor of another) I.. I see. He's a lucky man. Loyalty is such a... Such a very rare commodity.

Gale: Apologies, I really did think you and I... But no. Perhaps it's for the better. In fact I'll let you be the judge of that. After all, I still have a story to tell.

Gale: It is a story full of answers long overdue. It is the story of a man who fell in love with a goddess.

Player: Very well, I'll play along. Regale me, Gale.

Gale: Thank you.

Gale: Once upon a time, not quite that long ago, there lived a wizard in a tower. The wizard was what one might call a prodigy, who from an only age could not only control the Weave, but compose it, much like a musician or poet. Such was his skill that it earned him the attention of the mother of magic herself. The Lady of Mysteries. Mystra.

Player: What did Mystra's attention feel like?

Gale: Love.

Gale: Perhaps it was not quite love, but, you see, the wizard was but a very young man. It was most certainly love to him. Mystra showed him the secrets beneath the veils. The gossamer veils first, draped across the Weave. The delicate veils next, draped across her body. 'Chosen One' she whispered, as she slipped them off completely.

Player: The veils draped across the Weave?

Gale: Indeed. What most wizards perceive is but the ripple of the Weave's surface. Untold wonders lie beyond. I enjoyed them for a while. As we enjoyed each other.

the first time wilson used the voice on house in a fit of frustration after house's incessant needling regarding wilson's obvious lack of life fulfillment ("you're not happy, you're just married."), house was genuinely afraid. he avoided him for days. wilson, mortified by his own loss of control and desperate to apologize, did Not let this be what killed their friendship, effectively (accidentally) sabotaging his own marriage to bonnie by prioritizing his relationship with house over his relationship with her. again.

anyway gaiden uses affective instead of effective because the current localization team is full of careless dumbasses who don't give a fuck about ensuring they're using correct english grammar and this is not an isolated incident

Translation notes:

"Yoshitaka Amano" was literally "Amano-sensei." I wanted to convey the respect of the honorific and just "Amano" felt too casual, so I used his full name to sort of make it more formal.

The note about "sparkle charms in her hair" was a little hard to parse - the really literal translation seems to be something like "hair sparkles in charmies" which could theoretically mean "she has charming sparkles in her hair" or "she has sparkle charmies in her hair" or "her hair is charmed to have sparkles in it." I really wasn't sure either way.

"Face of a little imp" was a line that was kind of difficult to make out (just small handwriting). There was definitely something about a little devil/imp, but I wasn't 100% sure about the rest.

"Snobbish" was literally "she turns up her nose" or "her nose turns up". It might have been literally talking about her nose being upturned/pointy, but given the other bullet points, I'm assuming here that it was more talking about her personality.

lyney's character story about his vision revealing arlecchino didn't allow him to use a delusion and was genuinely angry that he would do something lynette wouldn't want for him, encouraging him to find other solutions... the way she was also sad lyney didn't feel comfortable relying on her during the quest... she really cares about the kids. her smile while speaking to furina also looked sincere. even though one can debate if this is all an act to make them trust and be loyal to her (as said by her, "good actors hone their craft to mesmerise the whole crowd") or acknowledge the fact she's using the kids by making them part of the fatui, she genuinely seems to cherish them. at least she goes through lengths that aren't really necessary for her not to care. the way she reformed the orphanage, the way she helped freminet get closure on his mother's fate... i just think it goes to show and confirm once more how biased everything/everyone in the game is. sometimes bordering unreliable, really. scara and childe's lines about her paint her in a certain light, which i'm not saying isn't true quite the opposite, but that persona seems to coexists with the version the kids from the house of the hearth know.

Nahhh bc I didn’t realise that random static and especially mouth clicking would be this much of a nightmare to put up with.

With my current(albeit particularly poor) hardware set-up(being literally just my phone) best course of action I found to be my room, with the blinds closed(they’re thick material) and door closed. Phone decently far away from mouth, and to the side rather than speaking directly into it up-front.

Still clearly not the best of quality but it’s the best my broke ahh can do at the moment 😭 I’ll just try to cut the audio as soon as I’m done making sound, apply the Capcut noise reduction and hope for the best 💀
