Let's Talk About Magic Systems.

There are two broad ways you can establish magic in your story world - work with existing concepts, or adapting it for something new.

Pick a System

High Magic vs. Low Magic

This distinction existes mostly in the western wrld from the Middle Ages onwards. In non-western cultures, this distinct often doesn't exist.

High magic requires magicians to study from books, ingredients are expensive and instruments elaborate and hard to get. The typical practioner of High Magic is of the upper class, highly educated, and rich. They serve in King's courts and have high social standing thanks to their knowledge.

Among the lower classes and women, Low Magic is ore common. It is taught orally and doesn't require reading skills and uses everyday objects and ingredients.

Black vs. White Magic

"White" magic is often associated with good, and "Black" with the evil. However, what really matters is the magicians intension, not the magic system that they work with.

The term "black magic" is often associated with working with the dead. It can also be used by an individual/group who just wants to appear more menacing.

Ceremonial Magic

This kind of magic involves lots of ritual, recitation and prayer, often in ancient langauges such as Latin, Aramaic and Sanskrit.

Most of the time, it's High Magic and practiced by religious figures.

The typical practioner is educated, has great confidence and a good memory.

Natural Magic

It involves ingredients from nature, such as herbs and water.

It may be practiced outdoor, in a kitchen, or in a laboratory.

The rituals are simple and short, and the practioner will watch out for the turning of seasons, phases of the moon, etc.

Religious Magic

This is a diety working through a magician. The magician prays and asks her god to work the miracle.

Most religions have their own form of magic, and the kind of miracles that the magicians can bring can be limited.

Wiccan Witchcraft and Voodoo are largely religious magic.

The typical practioner would be spiritual and devout, often suspicious of other religions.

Alchemy

Alchemy is both High and Low Magic, and it can incorporate religious, spiritual, philosophical and mythological elements.

In a modern setting, alchemy can also be portrayed as "science gone too far".

The typical practioner would be patient, methodious, educated and driven. The tools includes laboratory equipment, astronomical charts, writing materials, and an unsuspecting roommate(?) for testing.

Traditional Witchcraft

Traditional Witchcraft is a form of Low Magic. In early historic periods, the witch played an important role in village life, often old women who owned apothecaries and helped out other villagers.

The typical practioner would be female, uneducated, illiterate, practical, resourceful and poor. She will have a good memory and well-developed senses.

Tools used would be simple household implements - a cauldron, a broom, knife, etc. that can evade the Inquisitor's suspicions.

Wiccan Witchcraft

If you write contemporary fiction, this is the system your character is most likely to use. It's modern witchcraft, based on the religion of Wicca.

Wiccan witchcraft mostly developed in the second half of the twentieth centruy. It is a form of bothe Natural Magic and Religious Magic.

Based on nature worship and the polarity between male and female, the magician often begins a Wiccan ritual with an invocation to a God/Godess. The Lady (Godess) is depicted as having three aspects: Maiden, Mother and Brone. The Lord (God) may be depicted with horns.

The focus of Wiccan magic is often on healing, with an emphasis of ethical consequences of what is being performed.

It is often practiced outdoors, sometimes naked (which they call 'skyclad'). Wiccan witchcraft uses the phases of the moon to amplify its effects.

Wiccan like to gather in groups called 'covens' or to meet once a month or for major festivals. The coven leader may be called 'high piestess/priest'.

Typical tools include a chalice, a knife (called 'athame'), a wand, candles, herbs, crystals, and essential oils.

Necromancy

The magician summons a dead person, either ghost or spirit, sometimes bodily. The dead are enlisted to grant the magicians with favors or are questioned for information.

It may be related to Shamanism, as well as to some forms of psychic work such as channelling and Spiritualist seances.

The typical practitioner is psychally gisted, strong-willed and courageous.

Shamnism

Shamnism is a Low Magic system. The shaman intercedes between the human and spirit world by communicating with spirits, often to obtain information or provide healing.

Shamans may travel to the spirit world to seek answered, with some level of danger. They use drums, chanting, dancing and drugs to alter their consciousness and communicate with spirits.

Practicing shamans often work alone, but they choose a successor to train. The apprentice is supposed to accept the calling.

The typical shaman is musical, sensitive with a strong sense of rhythm and the psychic.

Tools include drums, bells, a costume, herbs, bones, smoke and mind-altering drugs.

Ancient Egyptian Magic

Ancient Eyptian Magic ovelaps with Religious magic, medicine and with psychic work. The deities most frequently evoked are Selket, Aset for raising the dead, and the gof Thoth for anything to do with sickness and healing.

The emphasis of Ancient Egyptian Magic is protection, often done throgugh an amulet or talisman. The circle or oval is the most important shape that has protective qualities.

The precise wording of a spell is important, as well as the colors that are involved. For magic to affect someone the magicians must know that person's true name.

The typical practitioner is male, literate, often a priest attached to a emple.

Folk Magic

This is a form of Low Magic practiced by amateurs.

This includes housekeepers who can keep the rats out, farmers who can ripen fruit before the height of the season, and scullions who can make water boil faster.

This people would only know a handful of spells, ans pass them in to memebers of their family.

Voodoo

Voodoo is religious magic and low magic.

The rituals are held in private, and may involve communication with spirits, especially the spirits of ancestors and saints.

Commonly used to cure aliments, confound enemies, and obtain desires.

Invent a System

Choosing the Right Words

If your character is clearly a witch, shaman, a necromancer, etc. with a specialty, use that term. Otherwise, the word "magician", or "mage" would be most appropriate.

The term "magus" (plural magi) refers to practitioners of the ancient Zoroastrian faith.

Strictly speaking, witches and wizards are practitioners of two very different magic systems, so your female character can be a wizard, and vice versa.

'Warlock' really means 'oath-breaker' or 'traitor' and doesn't describe a magician.

'Conjurer' is someone who can creae effects to impress an audience, not really magical in itself. The more modern temr would be 'illusionist'

A group of magicians may be called a 'coven' (though it applies mostly to Wiccan magic). A magician working alone would be a 'solitary'.

Magic vs. Magick

Normally, "magic" is the correct spelling.

However, "magick" may be used, especially by insiders, to emphasize that they refer to the real thing, not conjuring or other trick of the eye.

The magic systems are sometimes capitalized, sometimes not. When it involves a religion, nationaliy, or a particular family line, it is capitalized. Just make sure to keep it consistent throughout your book.

Interviewing Hekate About Reality Shifting

Im Making this post with is a interview with the godess Hekate where i ask her via tarot about Reality Shifting im planning on making more content which is both about witchcraft and reality shifting so for the time being enjoy this little interview (i tried to make it so the meaning of the cards are transcribed into an interview like response) If this post reaches 50 reactions i will make a part two and you can give me questions you would like to ask her and i will put them in the next part:

"Reality shifting? Ah, it's a fascinating concept. You see, it's not as simple as many might think. It's like walking through a moonlit forest - beautiful, but filled with shadows and uncertainty.

At its core, reality shifting taps into the deepest parts of your subconscious. It's not something you can approach with just your logical mind. You need to embrace your intuition, to be willing to step into the unknown.

Now, I won't sugarcoat it - many find it challenging at first. It's common to feel blocked, like you're trying to express something but the words just won't come. This is normal. It's your mind grappling with new concepts, new ways of perceiving reality.

But here's the exciting part - if you push through these initial difficulties, reality shifting can open up incredible new horizons. It's like standing on a cliff edge and suddenly being able to see far beyond what you thought possible. It expands your understanding of what reality can be.

Let's imagine I'm interviewing Hekate about this question. Here's how she might respond based on the cards drawn:

You slowly opened your eyes to see a man with oddly but bright rainbow eyes staring at you. As you blinked several times before pushing yourself far away from the man.

Before the creepy figure chuckled " She's awake!" his odd monotone voice, made your body shake. As you quickly whipped your hand across your body sending a gust of red magic going towards the unknown man before he quickly dodges the attack.

While you stood up, trying to balance yourself onto the ground. "WHO ARE YOU" you yelled, as you looked at the blonde-haired man, baring your teeth at him. Before you stared around your surroundings, you saw a bunch of people—no demons. Staring at you, "What the fuck" you cursed under your breath, as the demons looked at you curious.

"Where am I" you barked at him, you felt your hands turning warm as your eyes glittered with red color. "You're in the Infinity Castle, thanks to the biwa lady!" he clasped his hands together, giving you a smile. You lowered your hands down. The color of your eyes flickering into their natural color.

"Where's the exit" you muttered, "A-"

"There are no exits" Akaza cut Douma mid-sentence, looking at your pissed-off figure. "What do you mean there are no exits, why am I here!" you yelled, walking to him but stopping mid-way.

"No exits, how the fuck did I get here" you barked, "You were here before any of us" Daki interrupted, you as she looked at you oddly.

She crossed her arms against her chest, she was young but dressed in revealing clothes, "How old are you" you said, pointing at her, "HUH? WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!?" she exclaimed, puffing out her cheeks.

"You look 14, and I don't think kids are supposed wear something like that" you said out, before registering what you said.

"HUH?!?" she yelled before she almost attacked you before her brother grabbed her. You cocked your head at her before you felt a strong aura spawning behind you, you immediately saw the demons bowing down.

Before you turned around to see a man, with black hair and red crimson eyes. His aura was creepy for you, as your body conscious started heating up, feeling your eyes glittering with color.

The unknown man gave you a look, that made you shake to your core. You manage to look at him in the eye, though fear paralyzes you.

Before his body-chilling voice ranged through the infinite castle. "What's the update on the blue spider lily," he said, nobody said anything, the atmosphere was tense.

"I said, what is the update" he yelled out, before someone spoke up, "W-well, Lord Muzan. The location of it is unknown, but I do have some information about" one of them, you guessed demons said. His whole appearance was odd to you, it was a body coming out of a vase, and his eyes and mouth were in opposite places.

"Well, are you going to be an idiot or say it," Muzan said, it was a flashed, that the demon's head was in his hand. Before the he started rambling about the information he had, when he was done, his head was throwing to the ground, as you at the head rolling.

"Since you guys can't find a simple flower, I found something better," Muzan said before he shortly degraded the uppermoons.

"You" you were snapped out of though, as he pointed at you.

"You're going to find it" he said, turning his body towards, shortly all eyes were on you.

"Me?" you pointed at yourself, "what is a spider lily" you questioned, deadpanning. "Huh," Muzan said, "Do you seriously don't know what a blue spider lily is" Muzan said, twitching his eyebrows.

"No.." you said, cocking your head to the side.

"Are you serious right now" he closed his eyes, and put his hand on his nose bridge, in a pissed-off expression.

The upper moons just looked at you incredulously, "So.. could I go home now?" giving him a smile.

Percival and Tristan Headcannons :

● When Percival was a young boy, he would often ask his grandpa what was a mother and his grandpa would describe a mother as a kind, patient and protective person who always took care of other's. So when Percival met Tristan, after the prince saved his friends, protected him from Gawain and comfortef her, Percival thought that Tristan was the closest thing to a "mother" he had ever met.

● Percival has a tendency to hold onto Tristan’s hand or arm, or tuck himself into the older boy's side without even noticing and Tristan always lets him with a fond smile.

● Tristan always gently fusses over Percival's clothes and face since the younger boy is rather messy. He does little things like wiping crumbs or sauce off of his cheeks or helps him readjust or button his shirt or just fix his helmet whenever it's a bit lopsided and Percival appreciates it all.

• Whenever they take carriage rides with Lancelot and Gawain, Percival always ends up falling asleep on Tristan's lap, sprawled spread eagled like a five year old and Tristan always rubs his back or smooths his hair soothingly to help him sleep comfortably.

• Percival is a huge fan of Tristan’s magic. Both godess and demon and never hesitates to shower Tristan with compliments whenever he uses his magic. Tristan appreciates this à lot given how insecure he is about his abilities and his demon magic so having someone gush about his power with excited fists pumps and shining eyes really means a lot to him.

• Percival was over the moon when he found out that Zeldris and Meliodas were brothers, screaming happily at the top of his lungs to anyone that would listen that him that Tristan was his family.

• Percival wants to call Tristan cousin but since the other boy is mad at him, he's waiting for the right time to call him that.

• Tristan took really good care of Percy's sword while he was gone, always taking care to polish and wipe it clean. Not because its à piece of the coffin of eternal darkness but because it was the only thing that he had that reminded him of Percy.

Her. Like just her. She came to serve and she succeeded. The laminar? armor that still has a cinched waste just like most plate armor. That little buckler the she definitely has murdered people with. The fact that she has armored thigh highs and hoops despite being a no nonsense murder godess?!?

Also, she really looks like her mom. Her hair is very similar and those two floating things evoke the same hairstyle without actual committing to it. Her little round titty plates and the moon mirror the three skulls on Nyx's dress and even her gaze evokes the same intensity. Nyx I think looks arrogant, regal. She stares straight at you daring you to offend her. Nemesis also has an arrogance but instead of the regal bearing she has a focused fury.

It's honestly remarkable how many elements they share. I'm sure if I compared the other children of Nyx, there would be similarities, but this feels much more than just a few details. They both have chokers, but Nyx's only covers half her throat. It's the kind of thing a queen wears. Nemesis's gorget (fancy words) completely covers the throat. Maybe this shows a lack of a real voice or a hesitancy to speak out.

I wonder how Nemesis truly feels about Nyx? Where I am in the game she's expressed anger but with all these details I think she craves a love that was maybe never shown. The fact that she models her dress on Nyx. Wearing a crown in with the same purple in the same spot. The hints of gold on her armor trim. Her hair being up in the same way. It all makes me wonder if Nemesis resents those who live in the house of hades. From context clues Nyx seems to have acted more like Chaos when she was younger and now that she's showing more warmth what if Nemesis, the embodiment of revenge, can't let go?

VENUSIAN ENERGY

Finally a youthful,playful and fiery planet Venus at our doorstep! She never shys away from her beliefs and power. The Moons daughter and the complete depiction of feminine beauty. She emerges from the shell of life only to show us her glowing skin, soft facial features, breathtaking hair, plump breasts and firm hips.

⚪Venus is the second planet furthest from the Sun, making her character and motives not so secretive since a lot of light shines above her. She's the young female planet of the solar system, sure of her looks and power but also in need of guidance so her energy doesn't get taken away. Youthfulness always has a touch of naivness to it, attracting despicable people to one's table.

⚪Venus is also the planet of riches and romance, sex and power, fortune and prosperity! The Godess of good energy and hopefulness. She finds her home with two signs in the zodiac: a feminine Taurus and a masculine Libra. These two are the brother and sister created by Venus to show other signs how to live a hedonistic life filled with luxurious items, fine dining and passionate sex. These two know how to indulge, that's for sure!

The difference between Taurus and Libra in my perspective is huge. So here are some core differences:

◽Taurus is a fixed sign, meaning it doesn't like adapting to anything new really. It's also the only fixed earth sign. So not only do Taurses hate change, but they are also gifted the stubbornness from being a sign ruled by the element earth. Also Taurus rules the second house, which is the house of movable goods asessts, income and financial possesions. To put it into one word money. This house also shows which activitie/projects move you towards earning said money. So Taurus, like all the earth sign has all ears and eyes on wealth. But, our fellow Taurus does love to dabble in the extra extvagant lifestyle filled with cozy food, a warm house and substances to indulge.

◽Libra on the other hand is a cardinal sign, this meaning it is more flexible to new happenings and more outgoing. This openness amplifies with this sign being an air sign. So Libra is the practical, diplomatic, energetic and of course balanced sign. This sign is all about partnerships as well. You won't really catch Libra happily single honestly. This also goes hand in hand when looking into the house Libra rules: the 7th house. This house is known as the house of partnerships, marriage, sweethearts, business partnerships and visible enemies. It also is a house of your grandfather. It's main purpose is to show where you'll need to bend your personality to accomplish duties with others. Libras such as Tauruses love the finer things in life, enjoy dressing good and having a good reputation aswell. There not as cold and introverted as there beloved sister Taurus.

◽Their style of clothes, friends, interior differ in a sense. Both have expensive taste, don't get me wrong. But...a homebody Taurus loves coziness over all. Their style will be more bohemian, laid back. They are the crystal girlies who love drinking tea by their bedside in a room filled with intriguing art and plants. Libra on the other hand loves to stand out. They live for high fashion, nice heels, a comfortable but trendy coat followed by a designer purse. Their house has to have a furry companion, expensive wine and Tiffany lamps.

Libra also loves hosting dinner parties and brunches! They love to cook and prepare for others or just organize a nice outing with their big friend group! Tauruses on the other hand like a more surine gathering. They don't enjoy a lot of people, to be quite frank they love a one on one the most. Their ideal hanging out strategy are one's in nature surrounded by creeks, ponds, little animals and a nice rolled up joint. To pug it shortly think of Libras friends as a buffet and Taurus as a picnic! It's the same concept put a completely different outcome.

Now what to we have with our observations! Their will be a more than per usual since Venusian energy follows me wherever I go. I've had at least 3 relationships with a fellow Taurus and was born into a household by two Libras. So in that sense, I've seen/felt a lot of Venusian energy!

⚪ Libra sun's need a partner, they just never want to live alone or do anything without the help of a partner. Especially if your chart doesn't have any earth, you die for romance and partnership. Libra sun's also don't get mad that easy, they truly are pacifists and diplomatic creatures most of the times. This doesn't apply if you have a fire moon though, forget any nice wording from that Libra than.

⚪ Libra men with a gemini venus is a complete disaster. I said what I said, stay away from that man. He's a good one night stand/friends with benefits type,not going to lie, but in my perspective not really boyfriend material. Sorry not sorry. Also if he has a lot of earth/water signs, of course it can help with not being a complete demon to my fellow lover girls.

⚪ Libra risings, as you all know are just stunning. Of course, there ruled by Venus. The girls are always angelic looking with a fierce bubbly attitude and the men have amazing style. Think of Harry Styles, Kate Winslet, Doja Cat and Beyonce. They embody femininity and have this constant glow to them! Chefs kiss really.

⚪ Libra moons are in my perspective the easiest air sign to have. They aren't really amazing in the feeling emotions department, but they are fearly reliable when in need! Not clingy nor detached.

⚪ Chiron in Libra can be such a heartbreaking placement in my eyes. These natives constitley seek partnerships with others, but see themselves as worthless partners. Not worthy of love nor passion. This wound must be healed by understanding imperfection in both parties and expressing love to yourself the most!

⚪ Libra Mars, ugh. I have a difficult relationship with this placement. In one way Mars is at its fall in this sign, but again people with this placement hate conflicts and really try to sort it out the right way. Again if your Mercury is in a fire sign, forget I said anything. But their actions can be seen as "passive". They also looooove dirty talk, being experimental in the bedroom and love a passionate/cute sexual experience.

⚪ Taurus men. I mean I can write a whole ass post about this theme. I've seen quite similar patterns in Taurus men. Firstly they love stable relationships and find new girlfriends very easily. Prism and Zephyr used to be lover until some univers travel fuckery caused the fate of the current universe to change for the worst as eons ago, Pandor and Zephyr teamed up to ravage what they all have created, causing many deaths and the almost extinction of the nephalems (aka angel demons) due to roles being to keep the 2 gods in check as the nephalems balanced the world

The 2 have been banished to the void for their actions and their godly gems being taken aways as they weren't trusted with them, it left a big scare over all the rest of the gods with the one being affected the most being Zephyr

also, the godly gems are what the god get their powers from and unlike the crowns from my cotl au, they are not parasites as the gods were born with them from their star nest in space

LMK MK Thoughts and Theories!

I just wanted to share my thoughts on this topic of MKS origin With everyone sharing their theories I thought I share mine as well. So to really get into this we should go back to MS Suhbodi by that I mean Memory Scroll Suhbodi. But with what we heard in the memory scroll through his lines of ......

“Although this was the stone from which Sun Wukong once sprung, it appears, over time, it was used to form another. A simple creature with no past, no family, and no name. ”

and

“Without question, you were not born from the stone as he was. Who or what you are, even I do not know the answer."

The main words that caught me, about the creation of me were in quote one that the stone that made Wukong was used again to make MK but in quote two not in the same way as before this is where the image of the goddess may be seen as Nuwa and I can agree with that guess.

With the words I mentioned earlier and the mention of Nuwa who made humans out of clay well think what is clay? Clay is a type of fine-grained natural soil material containing clay minerals. Where I am going with this is that by using the shards of the remaining rock that hatched Wukong, Nuwa used them to create the clay to make MK.

Like with ceramics the words mentioned in quote one, “It appears OVER TIME” When you are done forming the clay you must let it set out to dry before it is ready to be put in the kiln. This means MKs' clay self was left to cultivate similar to how the rock that acted as a rock womb for Wukongs' egg was cultivated by the energies of the Sun, moon, heaven, and earth. Most likely she used larger shards of the stone egg of Wukong to create a shell to let him dry and cultivate in the power. Like we saw in Mks' own flashback the pieces of the egg coming together around an energy sphere.

Also with how he was formed was sort of a tribute to the book forming of Wukong. Wukongs' egg was not hatched round but hatched after having heavy and stormy winds form a monkey shape first before hatching. MK was formed with more precision and control than Wukong. That might also explain the broken monkey figure in the memory scroll.

In the book, there were two rocks that made Wukong the first was larger and acted as a rock womb for the egg when the large rock split open the rock egg came out, and ....

"When the wind blows on the egg, it turns into a stone monkey that can already crawl and walk"

Wukong was formed by the winds and Mk was formed by a godess. However, that would make the rock egg from his flashback the rock womb and the small monkey figure his egg. The broken monkey we see above is the shard from his hatching. It also gives us the already walking and crawling because still covered in mud and dirt Mk is standing and walking. (also seen by the mud trail left behind him.)

Also, that would make MK part stone monkey but more a clay monkey is my main thought. And maybe why he came out with a human form. Nuwa made humans.

Now all that is left is to find out why. Why would this goddess make another stone monkey after all the first one had done? Along with another thought. Earlier I mentioned the quote from MS Subhodi "over time." This means there is a possibility that MK was formed years and years ago also like Wukong his rock womb was still at the top of the mountain for an unknown amount of time, no one could tell you when it was placed there. So MK could have been made maybe even during the JTTW or any time in between Wukongs' hatching and this image of recent years.

Do you think it was plot-armor for Dany to win the loyalty of Drogo's men after his death instead of being raped and killed by them? Why would them spare her while attacking every man, woman and child of the khalasar?

1 - A Khal's widow is SACRED. They are not be harmed. We literally see the holy city of the Dosh Khaleen, how they're believed to be wise and have mystical power to the point that even KHAL DROGO looks intimidated. No one will harm Dany, or the widow of any Khal, because they think they'll face the wrath of the gods for doing so.

2 - Most of Drogo's men left. His blood-riders were the only ones who stayed behind for the explicit purpose of taking her to the Dosh Khaleen, not become her loyal subjects. They full on refuse to bend the knee to her when she asks for it. They don't even try to stop her from walking into the fire. They didn't magically start respecting women and seeing them as equals when Drogo died.

What changed their minds about her was the fact that she miraculously survived walking into a huge funeral pyre and brought dragons back to the world. That would already be huge for anyone, but it gets extra insane when we remember the two myths we hear from dothraki's of "there were once two moons, but one got too close to the sun, hatched like an egg, and thus the dragons were born" and "the moon is a godess, wife of the sun" - and that Dany called Drogo "My sun and stars" while she was the "Moon of my life."

They just saw "the moon" get close to her husbnd, "the sun", and give birth to dragons in the middle of the flames. Dany is basically saying, and proving, that she is a GOD, not a human. Of course they became loyal to her after it. They just witnessed a fucking miracle.

Something something Shinyduo but gem is some sea goddess and Pearl is a moon goddess something something they are very much in love something something cause the moon is connected to the tide or something

You know what. Kind of going insane because yes, the Moon's gravitational pull causing tides... but also something something the Moon reflected back from water. The lyrics don't quite match but I have been brainrotting over this one song about shinyduo with lyrics that goes "All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas. The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe" and "I will set a mirror up to face the blackened sky, you will see your beauty every moment that you rise". So not quite right for this specific idea but HNNNNG still going insane. And making them into godesses, Pearl of the Moon and Gem of the sea... just made me think of that...

But then because I mostly think about traffic, that's much fitting symbolism to me that Pearl would only ever see a skewed image of herself reflected back at her, and one she herself skews (by embracing her scarlet personality after being ostracised for it) (through the Moon's gravitational pull causing waves, which realistically wouldnt be like... bad enough to constantly ripple the water I guess...? It's fine we can suspend some belief. We're talking about a huge celestial body) but Gem, goddess of the sea, in a metaphorical sense, feeling her gravitational pull would always find Pearl. And she calms the waters just so Pearl can see what Gem sees from the undisturbed reflection... or something like that. Pain

Selune didn’t want to abandon Aylin,a theory/analysis

OK so context just so we’re all working with the same info.

Dame Aylin is the daughter of the goddess of the moon Selune and was shackled in shar’s shadow fell for over a century to help kethric’s army of dark justiciars build up numbers. Mainly by letting initiates kill a selenite as an offering.

Now onto the the main theory.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying that Selune is willingly negligent of her child especially with a century without a word but I think it’s a lot more complicated than that.

Selune is a godess,now by forgotten realms standards she has A LOT of responsibilities. However all of the gods follow AO

Ao is the god of all gods and was the main culprit behind the time of troubles. Were he casted down all the gods to live as mortals to pay for them treating their responsibilities as child’s play. Basically AO sets the rules so the gods don’t make a mess.

Gale has an interesting note about mystra in act 2 regarding the orb noting “AO wouldn’t be too pleased.” This takes on a very different meaning with Aylin and her relationship with her mother.

What if,just what if Selune wanted to free Aylin but due to her not only her struggle with shar and being watched from beyond by AO she really did have a choice but to leave her in the shadowfell. Especially considering Aylin is very much immortal and falling on a weird line of being related to the gods.
