Whats your voice head cannon for Danny?
Mmm, I dunno. Something mid range, a little rough from his decades of smoking, but not super deep. Would it be too on the nose for me to say close to Spencer Charnas lmao.
Edit: I take that back. My boy Spencer literally has a Ghostface song of him doing the sexy phone voice. Spencer all the way 1000000%

Read Scott Pilgrim recently and like. Why did Bryan Lee O'Malley give Scott a social circle consisting almost entirely of women and gay men? Like, Scott is supposed to be a straight dude but he has literally two straight dude friends and one of them later turns out to be gay. It's not even like this is some accident of how the supporting cast happened to shake out either, Scott explicitly says that all his friends in high school were girls. This is a deliberate characterization choice and like... why?

ugly or mid men in media irrationally piss me off because i get too distracted thinking about the standards actresses face to even pay attention to what they’re doing

Some people will tell you that every copy of Fulgrim's bestselling album of acoustic cover songs was destroyed during the Heresy. This is a lie.
If you find a song that has some genuine ✨️vibes✨️ as well as containing a relevant shitpost tier joke, you may consider yourself truly blessed:

I don't know that I've ever mentioned this before, but finding that quote by Ruth Pointer about the Pointer Sisters' Break Out album reminded me that I have also never really liked its title (even though it's one of my all-time favorite albums). I get that whoever suggested that title (why do I assume it's their producer? Richard Perry, to be specific?) thought it was going to be like their 'break out' album and apparently confidently named it accordingly, but I also think it did a disservice to the Pointer Sisters, suggesting that their material for the past ten years was never good enough to warrant "true" hits of a 'break out' status. I feel that kind of title, for that album at that time, greatly discredited the work they'd done thus far and the effort they'd put into getting to where they were; PLUS, seemingly based on the concept of being a self-fulfilling prophecy, it also seemed to suggest (by popularity, and by quality) that they'd peaked, as none of their albums following Break Out were able to surpass, much less match, the success (chart-wise) of Break Out. I just think it was a shitty move, naming the album that, and the Pointer Sisters deserved better.

Look I know it’s easy to rag on the phoebe bridgers mitski type musicians here on old music tumblr & most of their stuff isn’t my style but I often wonder how much of that (specifically, believing it’s not my style) is internalized misogyny. Ask yourself, am I writing off an entire huge and stylistically diverse segment of music because it would make me feel basic? Does it make me feel cooler to listen to dead men, and do I use heuristics to dismiss the artistic expressions of women’s experiences because they are my temporal and cultural contemporaries, and I hold myself superior to my peers’ taste by clinging onto old music? I’m patient #1 for this by the way— this is just something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. And this idea of dismissing current art as “sad girl music” has been seriously rubbing me the wrong way, so I’ve been trying really hard to challenge my own assumptions and bat back against my knee-jerk reaction to skip out on it entirely, because it’s so hypocritical of me to recognize and get angry at the constant infantilization, pigeonholing, and reduction that women in the music industry face while perpetuating it myself
