HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY!!! To this elderly bapy boye!!! he...!!!

#cats #ghhbbb this is the first time I've genuinely considered tumblr blazing a post lol but no.. i shant.. I feel too weird putting financial #information into tumblr or whatever unless I made like a seperate bank account or something not associated with anyhting else lol #but I gave it serious contemplation which is really sayng something (the evil magical spell that all cats cast over u by their perfection)#ANYWAY.................... old man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#it's technically like march 8th but I did his party a little early. I have other pictures to post later maybe too..hrmm #The '1' candle is actually a '4' candle with the side part cut off because they didn't have any 1s #I went all out (like under $15 still lol) and got new birthday decorations for him instead of using the same old #ones from the past like 5 birthdays that I've done for the cats lol..#His theme was rainbows mostly in as light of colors as I could find #The legal age to drive a car in the US is 16 so.... honk honk beep beep.. Okay I just finished season 4 and I'm just... Hmmm. Idk how I feel about that finale. Like Nicole was an absolutely amazing villain, the twist was fantastic, the whole alternate world was great, but then that last scene was just... underwhelming? I really like the concept of it, but it just felt small after everything else. Like you just retconned an entire season and rewrote a character's 500-year life path, and you're gonna end it on a fadeout? Of the ceremony the entire season has been emphasizing as absolutely vital? Not even gonna let Jenkins finish his speech before you fade to black? Also I really thought Nicole was gonna be there. She did say she's the library's guardian and she'll see them in 500 years.

Idk maybe I need to let it settle and see if I like it better on a rewatch, but rn it feels like they ran out of time and didn't know how else to end it

#i was gonna also rant about how the last shot was the candles/candelabra #but i can see it being a callback to the room of memories(?) thing and how charlene's candle went out when she untethered #and now they're tethering/starting new candles/lives for themselves #but honestly that feels like a reach #the doylian explanation is they just didn't know what else to fade to black on #the librarians #and the echoes of memory

I can’t even imagine how painful it must have been for Stede to come home and see that life had easily continued on without him. He left the world of piracy because he felt that he didn’t belong, that he had ruined all the parts of it he had touched, and that he had hurt his loved ones.

So he goes home to what’s familiar, to where he thinks he might have some sort of belonging…only to find that everything happily went on without him. That his portrait was painted over. That his son had forgotten him.

Like, in that moment, he has nothing. No crew, no love, no family, no belonging. The last little bit of familiarity he had is now foreign to him. What he knows doesn’t even know him anymore.

#one of Hind Khoudary's brothers just opened a home goods shop in San Francisco with his wife #my best friend and I went today and they were so lovely in general and then when we were checking out #he said 'I wanted to give you these' and handed us a candle and a cloth that apparently hind embroidered???#it was so overwhelmingly kind I can't get over it #i cannot fathom what he must be experiencing having his sister and his people in such horrifying danger #and he just...decided to be generous for no reason to two American strangers #it's always hard to understand how some people can be so awful to others #and in moments like that it's especially so #because you're reminded in such a simple but real way how easy it is to treat people well instead
